n this episode Dr. Brett Scott sits down with U.S. Army Neurobiologist and Sleep Specialist Dr.Allison Brager!   

Allison has quite the incredible resume and she is a PhD Doctor of Neurobiology with an expertise in sleep and circadian rhythms, where she is a specialist in examining the mechanisms of resiliency to extreme environmental stressors including exercise, jetlag, and sleep deprivation. She is a member of the United States Army and works as a neurobiology researcher within the Army. She is an advisory member of NASA, the FAA, the NCAA NASM fit aid. She has over 30 peer reviewed publications, and scholar scholarly articles. She has also written a book titled Meathead, Unraveling the Athletic Brain, she might also be heading into outer space and as a candidate for a mission to Mars as an astronaut with NASA.

On this episode, we went through a whole host of things including: Optimizing sleep, the implications of sleep deprivation, fitness, wearables, everything you need to know about them and what to think about them. The effects of caffeine on sleep, cryotherapy, dry needling, sleep apnea, the negative effects of the 5am workout, and lastly, when to choose exercise or sleep!
