In this episode Dr. Brett Scott sat down with Conor Murphy to discuss all things CrossFit. Conor is the managing partner of Big Night Fitness, WODs on Waves, is a lead trainer for CrossFit,  and he's also worked at Reebok world headquarters as their Head Coach.

Conor has such a unique experience in the fitness world and has done a lot to change for what goes on, and how we look in think about fitness. They talked all about CrossFit, what it is, what it stands for, what the foundations of it are, what the belief systems are, and how it can universally be scaled for anyone. A times, CrossFit gets a bad rap, a lot of times for hurting people being dangerous. However, they discuss how it has improved many peoples lives- improving their movement, quality of life, reducing negative health markers, and so forth.

Brett and Conor talked a lot about the culture and environment of training, and what CrossFit can really do for your life when you're put in the right environment. They dove into specificity versus generalization for fitness gains. Also, what it looks like to be a weightlifter a power lifter, versus what it looks like for your life to do something like CrossFit, and the different avenues that it can prove. What it looks like finding a new CrossFit gym, and what you should be looking for in the coaching staff, the environment and the programming. We also talked about outside of that just finding the right fitness path for you, and finding a coach that supports you in your goals!
