Speaker
Sometimes I'm down.
00:00:04
Speaker
Let's have a good day.
00:00:05
Speaker
You feel me?
00:00:15
Speaker
Welcome or welcome back to the Feel Your Feelings podcast.
00:00:18
Speaker
I'm your host, Victoria Macanjewola.
00:00:20
Speaker
And today I am joined by a fellow podcaster.
00:00:24
Speaker
His name is Jeremy Robinson.
00:00:25
Speaker
He is an Atlanta-based podcaster, and he's the host of the It Factor podcast.
00:00:32
Speaker
He speaks to athletes, coaches, and so many more people.
00:00:35
Speaker
And he's joining me today from Atlanta.
00:00:39
Speaker
Jeremy, please let me

Physical, Mental, and Emotional States Discussion

00:00:40
Speaker
know how you're doing.
00:00:40
Speaker
How are you feeling?
00:00:41
Speaker
I am doing good.
00:00:43
Speaker
I am in the essence of joy.
00:00:45
Speaker
Just thankful for another day.
00:00:47
Speaker
Thank God to be here and thankful to be on your podcast.
00:00:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:51
Speaker
Awesome.
00:00:52
Speaker
I watch your content.
00:00:53
Speaker
I was streaming a few of your episodes yesterday, and I noticed that one of the questions that you ask a lot of your guests is how are you feeling physically, mentally and emotionally?
00:01:04
Speaker
So I want to ask you that same question, too.
00:01:06
Speaker
Yes.
00:01:07
Speaker
Thank you for asking.
00:01:08
Speaker
I'm doing good physically.
00:01:11
Speaker
I got my three workouts this week.
00:01:13
Speaker
I try to do three to four a week.
00:01:16
Speaker
Try to get those two in at least.
00:01:18
Speaker
But doctor wise, I'd be like, look, I got to get these three and, you know, keep my health right.
00:01:23
Speaker
So I'm good in that point.
00:01:25
Speaker
Mentally, I'm good.
00:01:26
Speaker
Like I have my good days, bad days.
00:01:29
Speaker
But be honest, my bad days, really good days.
00:01:31
Speaker
I don't really have no bad days, just bad moments.
00:01:35
Speaker
And then I would say emotionally, I'm doing good.
00:01:37
Speaker
Because if you good in those two, you're kind of good at where I'm on it.
00:01:40
Speaker
So I'm in a 9.5 overall.
00:01:43
Speaker
I like that.
00:01:44
Speaker
On a scale of 10, right?
00:01:45
Speaker
On a scale of 10.
00:01:46
Speaker
On a scale of 10.
00:01:47
Speaker
That's amazing.
00:01:48
Speaker
That's amazing.
00:01:50
Speaker
Let's see.
00:01:50
Speaker
For me, physically...
00:01:52
Speaker
I'm good.
00:01:53
Speaker
I'm good physically.
00:01:54
Speaker
Like I work out.
00:01:55
Speaker
I do yoga like I do at home yoga, like for posture and everything.
00:01:59
Speaker
Mentally a bit tired because I just wrapped up my spring semester at USC.
00:02:05
Speaker
You know, I go to USC online.
00:02:06
Speaker
I'm a grad student.
00:02:08
Speaker
So I'm grateful that the semester ended, but just tired because there was a lot of group work and group projects and assignments that I had to get through and manage.
00:02:18
Speaker
Emotionally.
00:02:21
Speaker
I'm not going to lie.
00:02:22
Speaker
It's been rough emotionally.
00:02:24
Speaker
Yeah, it's been like a roller coaster.
00:02:28
Speaker
But I feel blessed because this podcast is a chance for me to...

Exploring the 'It Factor' Concept

00:02:38
Speaker
kind of talk about how I'm feeling and allow other people the safe space to talk about how they're feeling.
00:02:47
Speaker
So how do you determine whether a person has the it factor or not?
00:02:54
Speaker
I feel like everyone do.
00:02:55
Speaker
I feel like it's everybody.
00:02:57
Speaker
I don't think it's just specifically to one person or a group of people.
00:03:02
Speaker
I have strived to go out to people that I love to watch do their jobs.
00:03:10
Speaker
And that's why I go from like, oh, I see you do your job or no matter what it is, you can be a mechanic and I still hang on the show because I'm going to see something in you like, man, you know, I think I should have them on here.
00:03:21
Speaker
I start the question process and start researching about the person.
00:03:25
Speaker
And the biggest thing is I had to learn was at the end of the day, it ain't about you.
00:03:30
Speaker
Like you're telling their story.
00:03:32
Speaker
So get the best questions together.
00:03:35
Speaker
I go watch other podcasts that they may have been on, if it's some people.
00:03:39
Speaker
And I look and be like, they didn't ask this.
00:03:42
Speaker
Let me go do this.
00:03:43
Speaker
And let me do it this way and do it my way.
00:03:46
Speaker
I try to always do it my way.
00:03:48
Speaker
So that's why I see when I see the it factor.
00:03:50
Speaker
And I feel like it's in everybody.
00:03:52
Speaker
Everybody has an it factor and reason why they do what they do.

Support for Women's Basketball Growth

00:03:56
Speaker
That's amazing.
00:03:57
Speaker
That's amazing.
00:03:57
Speaker
So are you keeping up with women's basketball and college basketball?
00:04:02
Speaker
I want to know what your thoughts are on Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese and some of those players.
00:04:08
Speaker
I am a big advocate of women's basketball more than the men's game.
00:04:11
Speaker
I don't even really know that many men college basketball players.
00:04:15
Speaker
OK, just don't.
00:04:17
Speaker
But like Caitlin Clark.
00:04:18
Speaker
Amazing.
00:04:19
Speaker
I think that her game is amazing.
00:04:20
Speaker
She brings a lot to the women's basketball game.
00:04:23
Speaker
And I cannot wait to see the things she's going to do, even what she did last night.
00:04:27
Speaker
You know, I didn't get to watch the whole game, but I seen it drop through.
00:04:30
Speaker
I didn't either, but she did play in Dallas for her first game with the Indiana...
00:04:37
Speaker
Pacers.
00:04:38
Speaker
Pacers?
00:04:39
Speaker
The Fever.
00:04:40
Speaker
The Fever.
00:04:40
Speaker
Okay.
00:04:41
Speaker
There we go.
00:04:41
Speaker
There we go.
00:04:42
Speaker
They play the same arena.
00:04:44
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:44
Speaker
I know she got some shots in.
00:04:46
Speaker
So that's incredible.
00:04:47
Speaker
I'm seeing my girl.
00:04:48
Speaker
I can't say her name right, but Uma Wale.
00:04:51
Speaker
I seen her.
00:04:52
Speaker
She crossed somebody up so much.
00:04:53
Speaker
I had to put it on the story.
00:04:54
Speaker
That sounds Nigerian, actually.
00:04:56
Speaker
Yes.
00:04:57
Speaker
She has a girl that plays in the league, too.
00:04:58
Speaker
Yeah.
00:05:00
Speaker
I seen her.
00:05:00
Speaker
I seen Angel Reese.
00:05:02
Speaker
You know, had those 13 points.
00:05:03
Speaker
I just posted about that.
00:05:05
Speaker
and you know she gets a lot of scrutiny but the biggest thing is she's a young lady like you can't they're kids like you can't even look at like oh man yeah she's grown but at the end of the day it's a game that she plays well i can't downgrade her and i dislike seeing men and all women talk down about her or anyone even with caitlin clark oh she didn't do this or she didn't pass me
00:05:30
Speaker
The biggest thing is a lot of people have to realize that the game is changing for the positive.
00:05:34
Speaker
Let's get on the positive side of women's basketball.
00:05:38
Speaker
Don't talk down about it.
00:05:39
Speaker
So I always push forward.
00:05:41
Speaker
I even got my WNBA hoodie here.
00:05:44
Speaker
There we go.
00:05:45
Speaker
There you go.
00:05:46
Speaker
Always repping, man.
00:05:47
Speaker
I would say that the game is going to continue to grow.
00:05:51
Speaker
I was blessed to have an episode the other day air with Coach Sidney Carter.
00:05:55
Speaker
And I would say having heard.
00:05:57
Speaker
was amazing because I got to see her growing up playing basketball.
00:06:00
Speaker
And she was surprised.
00:06:01
Speaker
Off camera.
00:06:02
Speaker
I tell you, the off camera stuff always be the craziest thing.
00:06:05
Speaker
I was literally like, hey, I've been watching women's basketball since I was a little boy.
00:06:08
Speaker
It ain't nothing new to me.
00:06:10
Speaker
So I can't wait to keep seeing what's going to happen to the game.
00:06:13
Speaker
And like I said, the playoffs of the NBA is amazing.
00:06:17
Speaker
The playoffs of college basketball is amazing.
00:06:20
Speaker
Especially, yeah, you see it from a men's point, but women's game is just as important and amazing as the men's game.

Using Zencastr for Podcasting

00:06:27
Speaker
Absolutely.
00:06:28
Speaker
You're absolutely right.
00:06:29
Speaker
At USC, I know we have Juju.
00:06:31
Speaker
She's our star on the women's basketball team.
00:06:34
Speaker
So I'm really like looking forward to seeing what she does next in the future.
00:06:38
Speaker
I'm not like the biggest like sports watcher, but I do like pick up on like who's leading, like who's really trending right now.
00:06:45
Speaker
So I'm rooting for her as a Trojan.
00:06:49
Speaker
Indeed.
00:06:49
Speaker
Hi there.
00:06:51
Speaker
How are you feeling?
00:06:53
Speaker
It's me, Victoria, host of the podcast.
00:06:55

Sports Team Favorites and Personal Stories

00:07:39
Speaker
It's time to share your story.
00:07:40
Speaker
You feel me?
00:07:42
Speaker
Oh, yes.
00:07:43
Speaker
Sticking with the sports talk, are there any, do you have any favorite sports teams right now?
00:07:49
Speaker
Always been a Washington Redskins with Washington Commanders fans for a long time because of Sean, the late, great Sean Taylor really made me a favorite fan and just been a fan of it.
00:08:01
Speaker
And the crazy part is one of my best friends from Washington and my wife is from Maryland.
00:08:05
Speaker
Nice.
00:08:06
Speaker
So this is crazy how she got me to go to my first NFL game up there and
00:08:12
Speaker
Definitely just love that team.
00:08:13
Speaker
I would say I love the Timberwolves right now because I like Ant from here, Anthony Edwards.
00:08:18
Speaker
So I'm a very all around person like hockey, love baseball.
00:08:23
Speaker
But football is the main thing because I play football.
00:08:26
Speaker
So definitely seeing where it took me and some of my family members have three family members that got a chance to play in the NFL, one to win the Super Bowl.
00:08:35
Speaker
And those type of things are what shaped me to be the person I am today.
00:08:40
Speaker
So just seeing them do great and even me being able to bring people on.
00:08:44
Speaker
That's why I do it.
00:08:45
Speaker
Like bring an athlete song.
00:08:47
Speaker
It's the same as bringing a lawyer, a teacher, a doctor.
00:08:49
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:50
Speaker
But it's just amazing.
00:08:52
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:53
Speaker
Did you play football in high school or college?
00:08:56
Speaker
Yes, I played in high school and had the opportunity to play in college.
00:08:59
Speaker
I chose not to play.
00:09:00
Speaker
Okay.
00:09:01
Speaker
I was a student athlete in high school.
00:09:03
Speaker
I played tennis.
00:09:04
Speaker
All right.
00:09:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:09:06
Speaker
Athlete then.
00:09:07
Speaker
You.
00:09:09
Speaker
Tennis is a sport, man.
00:09:10
Speaker
I know.
00:09:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:09:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:09:14
Speaker
I definitely would have loved to play it in college.
00:09:17
Speaker
I played some club tennis.
00:09:20
Speaker
When my family was living in Houston, they had this free tennis camp called the Zena Garrison Tennis Academy.
00:09:26
Speaker
I would play during the summers there.
00:09:28
Speaker
That was a cool experience, but the cardio, I just wasn't into the running every single day.
00:09:33
Speaker
I was like, this is going to wear me out.
00:09:35
Speaker
Exactly.

Interviewing Chris Paul and Capturing Human Stories

00:09:36
Speaker
But I know you mentioned interviewing athletes and I know you've interviewed Chris Paul, who's a big star.
00:09:42
Speaker
Like, can you tell me a little bit about what that was like?
00:09:44
Speaker
Yes.
00:09:45
Speaker
So I'll be remissed if I didn't say that I got it through Watch the Yard.
00:09:51
Speaker
Me being in my Greek fraternity and being big in HBCUs, I went to Clark Atlanta University and I literally got in a competition and was like, oh, man, I got to write out.
00:10:01
Speaker
So I reached out to my community, my people and said, hey, help me get this interview.
00:10:05
Speaker
Help me get this interview.
00:10:06
Speaker
The funny thing about all this is a couple of weeks before that, me and my boy was talking and my best friend, he was like, hey, man, you should get Chris Paul on before he retired.
00:10:16
Speaker
And I'm like, all right, cool.
00:10:17
Speaker
You know, and pray about it.
00:10:20
Speaker
You write it down because what I do, I wrote it down.
00:10:22
Speaker
All right, cool.
00:10:23
Speaker
And that process, that thing came.
00:10:25
Speaker
My wife sent it to me and she's like, hey, you should do this.
00:10:28
Speaker
And I started sending out my friends and they called me like the day or two later and was like, hey, you got it.
00:10:33
Speaker
Like, they set it up.
00:10:36
Speaker
And I was so surprised because I was like, I get the support that I know I have, but at the end of the day, I ain't think I was going to get that part, that episode.
00:10:44
Speaker
And I was like, I literally, it literally started with that conversation with my boy though.
00:10:48
Speaker
And it just like a trickle down effect.
00:10:50
Speaker
But to interview someone like him, man, I'm glad I got to see the beautiful side of him, man.
00:10:55
Speaker
Like the person, the human side, that's what matters.
00:10:58
Speaker
And those are things that I think that a lot of people take for granted.
00:11:02
Speaker
Like I got to talk to him about Kobe Bryant.
00:11:04
Speaker
That was amazing.
00:11:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:11:05
Speaker
Because that's impactful.
00:11:07
Speaker
Like, I had a person that wanted to interview, talk to Kobe Bryant.
00:11:10
Speaker
So through him and my brother was a great fan of Kobe Bryant.
00:11:13
Speaker
So when I showed it to him, he was like, you did

Kobe Bryant's Impact on Women's Basketball

00:11:16
Speaker
that?
00:11:16
Speaker
You know, so that's what it's about, you know, for your other people to see, like, oh, if you can do that, then I can do it.
00:11:21
Speaker
Let me go after my dreams, you know, so definitely.
00:11:32
Speaker
Absolutely.
00:11:33
Speaker
I love that you bought a Kobe, just like side note as well.
00:11:37
Speaker
I was such a huge fan of his and like, you know, hearing about his passing was just like shook.
00:11:43
Speaker
Like, I feel like we all can remember where we were when that happened.
00:11:46
Speaker
I was living in Washington, D.C., actually, because I went to grad school at the George Washington University.
00:11:51
Speaker
And that day I hadn't turned the TV on at all.
00:11:53
Speaker
I didn't have a TV anymore.
00:11:55
Speaker
But I was like, I'm not going to watch the news.
00:11:56
Speaker
And I was like, for some reason, let me turn on the cable, the student cable, and see what's happening.
00:12:05
Speaker
And I went to MSNBC, and then there was the news.
00:12:07
Speaker
And I was like, I cannot believe this.
00:12:11
Speaker
But the fact that he was so into promoting or advocating for women's basketball and women's sports, his daughter being so into college basketball, I definitely think she would have definitely made the draft and played for UConn, I think was her dream school.
00:12:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:26
Speaker
It would have been amazing.
00:12:28
Speaker
And I feel like he would have went in.
00:12:29
Speaker
A lot of people saw it.
00:12:30
Speaker
Oh, he going to go be a coach.
00:12:32
Speaker
He going to go be like George.
00:12:32
Speaker
He going to coach Sunsar.
00:12:34
Speaker
He going to own a team.
00:12:35
Speaker
I was like, he going to go coach women's basketball.
00:12:37
Speaker
That's what he going to go do.
00:12:38
Speaker
Absolutely.
00:12:39
Speaker
He definitely would have.
00:12:41
Speaker
And just being in LA, I've only visited twice.
00:12:44
Speaker
But LA loves Kobe.
00:12:45
Speaker
Like there's murals everywhere.
00:12:47
Speaker
You can just like still feel his energy.

Advice on Interviewing Athletes

00:12:49
Speaker
I got to visit Crypto Arena.
00:12:51
Speaker
It was such a great vibe.
00:12:53
Speaker
It was such a great vibe.
00:12:53
Speaker
I can't wait to do this.
00:12:54
Speaker
Another question that I have for you is about interviewing, you know, athletes, because on Monday I have an interview with a two time Olympian.
00:13:04
Speaker
Do you have any tips or suggestions for me?
00:13:08
Speaker
Be you.
00:13:10
Speaker
They're people.
00:13:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:12
Speaker
Make it as simple as possible for you first.
00:13:17
Speaker
Just talk to them like you have any other guests, like you're talking to me.
00:13:20
Speaker
The biggest thing you have to realize is get the questions that you always wanted to ask, but make it humanistic.
00:13:27
Speaker
Make it where the person tells you, wow, this is the best interview I've ever done.
00:13:33
Speaker
And
00:13:35
Speaker
The biggest thing I would say is always strive when you're interviewing athletes to take out the sport.
00:13:42
Speaker
Yes.
00:13:42
Speaker
Let's talk about it.
00:13:43
Speaker
We're going to talk about it, but take it out.
00:13:45
Speaker
Talk about them as much as possible because that's what they want

Dream Interview Guests

00:13:48
Speaker
to hear.
00:13:48
Speaker
That's what they don't hear.
00:13:49
Speaker
They had to talk to so many reporters and different people.
00:13:52
Speaker
And they always ask, Hey, what about when you didn't win?
00:13:55
Speaker
What about this?
00:13:56
Speaker
Like,
00:13:57
Speaker
asking in a different way.
00:13:59
Speaker
I would say go look at some of my interviews I had.
00:14:02
Speaker
I would say definitely the biggest thing is to show them that you're there for them and just keep supporting them.
00:14:08
Speaker
That's the biggest thing athletes want.
00:14:11
Speaker
Thank you, Jeremy.
00:14:12
Speaker
You're really good.
00:14:13
Speaker
Thank you.
00:14:14
Speaker
If you could pitch your show to... I know you do a lot of pitching on your social media to guests.
00:14:20
Speaker
If you could pitch your show to your dream guest, what would you say to them?
00:14:27
Speaker
You know, I would tell them, hey, you know, like I do everyone.
00:14:31
Speaker
I would say, hey, this podcast is a podcast that's changed the narrative.
00:14:35
Speaker
I would love to have you on because you the definition of that.
00:14:39
Speaker
The biggest thing is I think that I'm learning that when I reach out to people, I literally like, hey, you know, I try to go over it and how I'm gonna do it.
00:14:49
Speaker
And my wife gets on to me like, hey, just be you.
00:14:51
Speaker
I just be me reaching out to him to say, you know, like I reach out to everyone else, but if it was someone, uh, status, I would say living.
00:15:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:15:01
Speaker
I have to be for me, a Shannon sharp, man.
00:15:04
Speaker
I really want to interview Shannon sharp.
00:15:07
Speaker
Cool guy.
00:15:07
Speaker
I love how you interview people.
00:15:08
Speaker
I know we get controversy, all these types of things, but I've been watching Shannon sharp since I was a little boy with my grandma.
00:15:14
Speaker
And I just want to tell him that like, I literally been watching you that long and,
00:15:18
Speaker
to see that you have made it from South Georgia like me.
00:15:22
Speaker
I'm from rural South Georgia too.
00:15:23
Speaker
That means a lot.
00:15:25
Speaker
You know, going to Savannah State, you know, going into those things is amazing.
00:15:29
Speaker
And I would say a person that's not here anymore, I would love to talk to Bernie Mac.
00:15:33
Speaker
Had a chance to talk to him.
00:15:35
Speaker
And that would have warmed my soul.
00:15:36
Speaker
That would have been it.
00:15:37
Speaker
Like I would have been like, yep, I'm doing it for a couple of weeks.
00:15:40
Speaker
Can't do it because I would have been fooled, man.
00:15:44
Speaker
That's amazing.
00:15:45
Speaker
That's amazing.
00:15:46
Speaker
A lot more, but Shannon wanted to really, I really like pin out that video really meant a lot to me.
00:15:52
Speaker
I can't believe I really asked them.
00:15:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:15:54
Speaker
Same with Aja Wilson.
00:15:55
Speaker
Like, wow, that's Aja Wilson.
00:15:58
Speaker
And I've been watching her since she was in college, of course, at USC, Dunn Staley, like people like that.
00:16:03
Speaker
Like if I interview her, I'll cry.
00:16:07
Speaker
I'll cry afterwards, like literally because of the impact that they have in on the world is
00:16:13
Speaker
It's ultimate.

Networking and Successful Interviews

00:16:14
Speaker
Like, it's beautiful.
00:16:15
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:16
Speaker
And social media is a great place to do that.
00:16:18
Speaker
If you want to have someone that, you know, that you that you admire, that you want to interview, like you could tag them.
00:16:24
Speaker
You could reach out to someone who knows them, their network, someone, you know, that they've worked with.
00:16:30
Speaker
So that's how it happens.
00:16:32
Speaker
It happens.
00:16:33
Speaker
I mean, that's how I have with Coach Sidney.
00:16:36
Speaker
It literally was a three-year process.
00:16:38
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:39
Speaker
I'm really telling, I tell my homie the other day, he was like, man, you know what you did?
00:16:43
Speaker
Like, this is big.
00:16:44
Speaker
And I said, yeah, hopefully get more people to read the book because the book is not about like, my art of networking book is not about like, oh, you know, I'm the best networker ever.
00:16:54
Speaker
It's perfect.
00:16:55
Speaker
No, it's about the trials and tribulations I have went through to try to get different people on and also how it operates in my life.
00:17:03
Speaker
Networking plays a big role in life.
00:17:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:06
Speaker
I think you were trying to get Kerry Washington on your show.
00:17:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:09
Speaker
I did that a few weeks ago.
00:17:11
Speaker
She viewed my story.
00:17:13
Speaker
So the biggest thing is they see your thing.
00:17:16
Speaker
They're going to see it.
00:17:16
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:17
Speaker
You just have to keep going after it.
00:17:19
Speaker
You got to have support.
00:17:21
Speaker
That's right.
00:17:21
Speaker
You got to support you, man.
00:17:23
Speaker
You got to believe it first, though.
00:17:25
Speaker
I always say that.
00:17:26
Speaker
That's why I tell you.
00:17:27
Speaker
You got to believe it first.
00:17:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:29
Speaker
Yeah, I was doing some outreach last night, actually.
00:17:33
Speaker
By outreach, I mean sending emails.
00:17:36
Speaker
And what I was telling myself was just type the email.
00:17:39
Speaker
Just type it.
00:17:40
Speaker
Just type it.
00:17:41
Speaker
Take it from me.
00:17:42
Speaker
I took the pressure off.
00:17:43
Speaker
I was like, you don't have to send it.
00:17:44
Speaker
Just type it.
00:17:45
Speaker
I ended up sending both of them.
00:17:47
Speaker
I was like, just go ahead and type it.
00:17:48
Speaker
It doesn't hurt.
00:17:49
Speaker
It doesn't hurt to ask.
00:17:51
Speaker
So and you'll be the first show I tell you like with Sydney.
00:17:54
Speaker
It took what three years.
00:17:55
Speaker
That was back in 2022.
00:17:57
Speaker
I did a confirmation post the other day.
00:17:58
Speaker
I put it on my story before I said anything before anything aired and said, hey, it took two years to do this or three years to do this.
00:18:05
Speaker
But that doesn't matter.
00:18:06
Speaker
God's time.
00:18:07
Speaker
It is ultimate.
00:18:08
Speaker
Yeah, that's right.
00:18:08
Speaker
It's on time.
00:18:09
Speaker
I said outside of it, though.
00:18:11
Speaker
We love to tend to, oh, we need to do it by this time.
00:18:15
Speaker
The interview still was the same.
00:18:17
Speaker
It was amazing.
00:18:18
Speaker
And what it brought to me was validation.
00:18:21
Speaker
Like, hey, you're doing the right thing.
00:18:22
Speaker
Keep doing this.
00:18:23
Speaker
Just keep going at it.
00:18:25
Speaker
People see what you're

Promoting Friends' Talents and Networking Book

00:18:26
Speaker
doing.
00:18:26
Speaker
And the crazy part is when I did the promotion, her agent reached out to me like,
00:18:33
Speaker
are persistent and i was like thanks she's like look let's make this happen but look she in the season right now so yeah get me up afterwards and that happens a lot and i just stay persistent with people definitely got to stay persistent there you go it all works out is there anything that you want to promo hmm promo what you mean is there anything that you want to promote or if you want to shout out anybody or
00:19:00
Speaker
I would say that I do have a couple of things.
00:19:04
Speaker
I have an artist that's been on my show, one of my best friends I grew up with.
00:19:07
Speaker
His name is The Chaz Louis.
00:19:09
Speaker
He's trying to get on and also on a tour of the R&B Money tour.
00:19:14
Speaker
And I've been posting it, things of that nature.
00:19:17
Speaker
And I just want to see him shine because his music is amazing.
00:19:20
Speaker
He's an amazing artist.
00:19:21
Speaker
But outside of that, man, that boy got a light that the world got to see, you know, so...
00:19:26
Speaker
Definitely promote him, you know, because he a former, in fact, you know, promoter.
00:19:31
Speaker
He's been on the show big time and I'm just happy for him and what he's doing.

Speed Round Fun

00:19:36
Speaker
And outside of that, you know, go get the art of networking.
00:19:38
Speaker
In fact, remember, you know, we always pushing the book because the book is a lifestyle.
00:19:43
Speaker
It's not just to go get.
00:19:45
Speaker
This is your book.
00:19:46
Speaker
My book.
00:19:47
Speaker
Yep.
00:19:47
Speaker
Wow.
00:19:47
Speaker
Wow.
00:19:48
Speaker
Congratulations.
00:19:49
Speaker
Indeed.
00:19:49
Speaker
Indeed.
00:19:50
Speaker
I'm a two-time author.
00:19:50
Speaker
I'm a two-time author.
00:19:52
Speaker
Absolutely.
00:19:53
Speaker
You got to do that.
00:19:54
Speaker
Yes, indeed.
00:19:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:55
Speaker
Okay.
00:19:56
Speaker
I love that.
00:19:57
Speaker
So, Jeremy, if you're ready, I have a speed round that I would like to do with you.
00:20:03
Speaker
So, you ready?
00:20:05
Speaker
Ready.
00:20:06
Speaker
Okay.
00:20:06
Speaker
Okay.
00:20:07
Speaker
Okay.
00:20:08
Speaker
What is the last song that you listened to?
00:20:09
Speaker
The last song I listened to...
00:20:14
Speaker
It was by the Chaz Louis.
00:20:15
Speaker
It's called, what is it?
00:20:17
Speaker
Get You Right.
00:20:18
Speaker
Yep, Get You Right.
00:20:20
Speaker
Okay, okay, okay.
00:20:22
Speaker
Finish the sentence, I truly believe that.
00:20:25
Speaker
All things are going to work out.
00:20:30
Speaker
My favorite book is.
00:20:40
Speaker
The Autobiography of Frederick Douglass.
00:20:43
Speaker
Ooh.
00:20:46
Speaker
I got it right here.
00:20:48
Speaker
That's my book.
00:20:49
Speaker
So you got it right there.
00:20:50
Speaker
Okay.
00:20:50
Speaker
It's right over here.
00:20:51
Speaker
Somewhere in the bookshelf.
00:20:53
Speaker
I'm a huge reader as well.
00:20:54
Speaker
I have some books in the back, as you can see.
00:20:56
Speaker
Even more.
00:20:58
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:20:58
Speaker
Even more in the back.
00:20:59
Speaker
Like so many on my list.
00:21:00
Speaker
I got a book called The Art of... What is it called?
00:21:03
Speaker
Control What You Can't Control?
00:21:05
Speaker
And I'm going to be done with that.
00:21:07
Speaker
And then I got this.
00:21:10
Speaker
Okay.
00:21:10
Speaker
The Deion Sanders book.
00:21:11
Speaker
Okay.
00:21:11
Speaker
Yes.
00:21:12
Speaker
I need to put that on my list.
00:21:14
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:14
Speaker
Dear black girls.
00:21:15
Speaker
Love that.
00:21:18
Speaker
In two words, I would tell my younger self to.
00:21:23
Speaker
Keep going.
00:21:24
Speaker
Like keep going, man.
00:21:27
Speaker
Awesome.
00:21:27
Speaker
You can prize.
00:21:28
Speaker
Keep going.
00:21:29
Speaker
I love that.
00:21:30
Speaker
I love that.

Closing and Where to Connect

00:21:31
Speaker
And then right now I feel.
00:21:34
Speaker
I feel good.
00:21:37
Speaker
I feel good.
00:21:38
Speaker
Like, I feel like I have really did something very good and I got to celebrate it.
00:21:43
Speaker
I celebrated for a couple of days.
00:21:45
Speaker
I don't feel that way all the time, but like, it's like I won a championship.
00:21:49
Speaker
Like I'm like, I could pat myself on the back.
00:21:51
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:52
Speaker
Definitely.
00:21:53
Speaker
Definitely.
00:21:54
Speaker
Thank you so much for joining me on my show.
00:21:57
