Every club. Every day. The Global Sports Podcast Network. I don't know, I feel like I have to dance to that every single time, do you know what I mean? All this like kind of weird dance floor, network, network, network, network. I mean, they've done the they've done the tune to a T. I mean, it's class tune. Belt are in it. You need David Goetz to remix that like he did with the Man in Finance one. Equality. Welcome back to GSPN Forest. This is the Brighton crossover at the City Ground this time. Jamie's with us from Brighton. How are you, mate?
00:00:29
Speaker
are more good all good looking forward to the weekend get us back up and running i've been enjoying some european football this week as well uh two places i think next season we will be enjoying go on uh well we're we might be in the europa league you might be in the champions league so uh i'll say fingers crossed on your behalf yeah i mean Fingers crossed fingers like crossed and wrapped around a few times. Bob, wire it. That's where we're looking at with Forrest in a minute. Let's recap on what happened last time though. Last time I was on with you and Joe. We were talking about Daddy Welbeck dominating the front line and he very much did that at the Brighton Stadium. um what What's your stadium called now? Everyone's got sponsors and different names. The Amex.
00:01:16
Speaker
Yeah, it's still the Amex. Amex is good. I was thinking it was going to be like leasing car sponsored meerkat.com stadium. my a um But yeah, it's going to be great for your kick and we were like talking about the battle of the unbeaten last time, wasn't it? And it was a good two-all draw,

Forest's Performance Challenges

00:01:33
Speaker
to be fair. I didn't know if we were going to get away with it, but it was fair in the end. Dodgy sending off on Morgan Gibbs, right?
00:01:39
Speaker
o Well I was gonna say a couple of errors as well from us that led to goals and I was thinking we should have buried that game. You had four shots from ah and I was thinking in how have we not come away with the all three points in in that game? And those are the goals. I think one of your goals, you were through on goal because, oh yeah, I think that was it. That's the 70th minute goal. You were through in just because there was miscommunication at the back. And I think Van Hecke or Veltman, whoever it was, stepped up and we were just sat, me, Joe, and blessed was sat there going, oh dear, that's a tragic ah defending error.
00:02:20
Speaker
That's a goal. Yeah. We're all going. That's a goal. Yeah. Yeah. No, it was a bit of a mad game with the yes enough to give Gibbs white and get an equalizer. and But I think it was a sign of things changing for us last season. We would have lost that. Right. And um the worry now, I think, is that we're starting to fall back into some of the issues of last season that we thought we got rid of.
00:02:39
Speaker
against Southampton very lucky. We really genuinely tried to throw away that 3-0 lead and somehow survived. Like, you know, we've seen it so many times like Luton last season, and but this season it seemed like as things were changing up until recently. Southampton, we just about got away with it. Bournemouth, we very much didn't, right? And our form, even though the results are still kind of okay, I mean, Bournemouth, if I'm honest, we kind of expected it to get spanked because they're just, they're in for the team of the league and they're scoring four or five past every everyone at the minute.
00:03:07
Speaker
and we were just bad on the day we had a bad day. But I don't know if it's the sound of the form and I think Brighton, Brighton's kind of almost the most important game of our entire season so far because it's really kind of the marker of where actually is our form at the minute. Have we did? Are we going through a lull or is this like just, you know, a blip?
00:03:25
Speaker
Yeah, I was going to actually ask, could you feel the wheels are coming off slightly? Because I remember I watched on Match of the Day, the Southampton game, and I was thinking, I mean, there weren't many. but they will They were unlucky to say. or ah I think you should have won, maybe.
00:03:41
Speaker
but ah because their second half they did play well and then after the Bournemouth game that was an absolute battering I'm not gonna lie that was but it like you say it is Bournemouth Bournemouth are on fire there well yeah I mean with the Bournemouth thing the first half it was one and a half time and they probably should have been made they probably could have got a second or a third but we equally could have scored one or two but we didn't take our chances and then they came out and I think the issue was they scored twice in two minutes and when you three nail down you're like about what we've lost. Do you know what I mean? Especially in the second half. I think with Southampton, they got one or two goals at pivotal moments. And the the disallowed goal from Melankovic, the Ramsdale threw into his net. They're like, oh yeah, well yeah it was a push from Wood. It wasn't. And like ultimately, the thing with that is that obviously would have put the game to bed. Southampton would have just gone to sleep then. But you know that gave them hope and then they got a way back into it. But i think you know the look is I think the difference is this season, we've earned where we are.

Brighton's Strategy and Forest's Ambitions

00:04:36
Speaker
And last season we didn't have any luck, and this season we've had all the luck that we didn't get, but it's starting to run out, I think. Yeah. Well, ah one thing I noticed about the Bournemouth game last week is that they, which is so rare for what Nottingham Forest meant, tell me if I'm wrong, but ah so rare of Nottingham Forest from what I've seen this season, they seem to carve you open much more than any other team because you've been very compact.
00:05:05
Speaker
very hard to beat defensively, and it seemed like Clive had all the space he wanted in the middle. ah Then Dango Tara turned into God knows who who that guy is. But prime Samuel Eto. Yes, yes. Yes. I mean, the leap for his header was collapse honestly what a header that is.
00:05:24
Speaker
It's like Ryan Christie running behind him with a trampoline like, quick, bounce on air, boom, bang. I mean, to be fair, he was unreal. I think the thing was with Wotaro, they figured out how to get him, how to get him going. And it just shows the sign of the recruitment of Bournemouth, Forrest, Bright, and all these players that they're finding and starting to bring through, suddenly being superstars. We've signed well, like all the teams have signed well. And you know, if Wotaro then went to like, I don't know, let's say like into Milan, he wouldn't do anything.
00:05:48
Speaker
No, yeah. Yeah, they're just that at the moment where they are for the for the teams, they still need to develop, but they're doing so well with the the stuff that they've gotten on bornmout <unk>ve got Michael B Jordan behind them, you know, it's not a bad idea. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, and I think Bill Foley is also a billionaire, so that's not too bad either. Well, you've got the you've got the Greek guy, isn't he some sort of absolute rich mafia boss?
00:06:13
Speaker
I don't. Yeah, I mean, yeah, he's got a bit. He's got a bit of pocket money, I would say. Yeah, he's got a few coins to throw about. But the thing with with Mr. Maranakis or Mr. Olympia, of course, as some people call him, he's ambitious and he's ambitious in the right way. And like he wants both teams to do what he's written off another 80 million debt into equity. So he's like he's like 200 million in debt because of what he's put into the clubs. But he's like, I don't want it. I want the clubs to be successful. I want my clubs to do well.
00:06:41
Speaker
so he's just writing off all this debt so we're like like indebted to this guy yeah yeah his you know his his ambitions almost kind of getting scary now he's like right we want Matias Cunha from wolves let's pay 60 million for him and we're like no no no can't afford that we're gonna find Yeah, it's almost it's almost great to have gone too far. Yeah, it's like, you know, Mattias Cunha is good, but he's gonna be he's gonna be too good in League One. We won't need him. Do you know what I mean? We'll be down there with Man City. It'll be like Holland against Mattias Cunha. It'll be ridiculous.
00:07:15
Speaker
I think on your point of recruitment as well, Nottingham Forest have been a team that recruited so well. I looked at them at the start of the season because a lot of people wrote you off as a team that could be threatened with relegation. I looked at your team at the start of the season, I was thinking,
00:07:32
Speaker
because I watch a fair bit of Serie A. I knew Milenkovic was class. ah Marillo is a player that I just love. I think he's absolutely brilliant. I wasn't too sure on Nico Williams. He's done all right. Ole Anja is class as well. Because he was there for Fulham a couple of years back and he performed there well. And then, I always think this, like players like Hudson Adoy, Alanga, Gibbs White, these players that are like,
00:08:02
Speaker
for Hudson and Doi and Alanga, rejects of like the big six clubs, performed so well with like the lower league clubs. yeah And then Gibbs White is just a brilliant player, ascending and only getting better. He got him when he was young. Chris Wood, I don't know. Fire. Honestly, but it feels every like every single game he scores. bar the warmmouth one But it feels like yeah every single game I'm going, how was Chris Wood scored again?
00:08:29
Speaker
But everyone keeps saying, why have you not got Chris Wood in your fantasy team? And I'm like, because they keep scoring for Forrest.

Fantasy Football and Team Strategies

00:08:34
Speaker
And then it'll stop. We need the goals, mate. No Forrest team players are going in my team ever. yeah Because then if they lose, we don't get any points anyway. And if we win, I don't want the points. I'd rather we stay good in the Premier League. Even if we get conference league, I'll be happy. Do you know what I mean? It's a massive bonus for us.
00:08:51
Speaker
Exactly, exactly. And then another one, and this is a shout out because I do a different type of fantasy where it scores points for like every aspect of the game. Elliot Anderson, superstar in that, because he gets points for tackles, gets points for key passes, dribbles, he just gets about. I said this, I think on the last podcast, I think me and Joe were bigging him up. how Why Newcastle have sold him, especially at 21 years old?
00:09:21
Speaker
PSR, wasn't it? Yeah, yeah. All the Newcastle fans were like, this is sad because he probably wouldn't have got into our team. And I'm like, are you mad? Have you seen him play? I was like, there's a reason we're second and it's him. There's a reason, he's genuinely ridiculous. There was a game Anderson and Gibbs Wyatt didn't play. I think it was Arsenal away. We lost 3-0. We had that one shot.
00:09:43
Speaker
Do you know what I mean? They start to speak for themselves. He's crazy. His goal against Southampton was outrageous. He barely broke stride and just pinged it into the bottom corner. How's that? He's so calm on the ball. Got the composure in the middle. That's exactly what you need in the middle. But then he's also got the running and the tenacity to actually drive and tackle people. It's mad. He's different. It's really mad. He's good.
00:10:08
Speaker
Yeah, big fan right we'll we'll do the Zencast advert and then we'll come back and we'll talk about Brighton's last few games and and the form running in just a second. Brighton's Inconsistencies and Squad Management

00:10:38
Speaker
Lovely. Right, let's move back on to Brighton's form. and What's been going on recently? Because it's kind of up and down, like you hammered United, at Old Trafford. I know we all have this season. It's nice that Forest were included in that. But, you know, there's been a few ropey results and it's been like, what? ah what Do you just choose which games you want to win? i I don't. I can't tell you what happens with this club. It's so, so interesting and so frustrating at the same time.
00:11:06
Speaker
they could play absolutely brilliantly and still draw. They could play woefully and get grab a quick goal or win or get battered. I mean, so if we just go on last week's game against Everton, then it was the most boring game I think we've had all season. It was also one of the most most frustrating games, which actually kind of scares me for the forest game, why we don't think why I don't think we're going to get anything.
00:11:33
Speaker
We are so bad against like a low block, like just terrible, like Everton defended and they throw bodies on the line. I think we also played Ipswich right at the beginning of the season. There were a couple other, Leicester couldn't score against them. They were just throwing bodies at the line. I think West Ham were also only conceded one against us, throwing bodies online. Any team that just defends low against us, we can't beat. That's why Man United at home was a game why actually fancy does because and when When they're at home, they feel like, oh, we should probably go for the win here. We are Man United. We need to be starting to win some games. The fans also then start motivating them. They leave so much space and that's perfect for us because they're not defending with so many bodies. ah But our form was
00:12:24
Speaker
oh It's so interesting. Our form before the Everton game wasn't too bad. like We were hadn't lost since the 15th of December, ah which was against Crystal Palace. That was... Don't even get me started on that game, that was an absolute... I think I went viral on TikTok because I was cussing us out left, right and centre. Lots of Crystal Palace fans in our DMs.
00:12:49
Speaker
saying cry cry cry for some more so yeah that was fun but after that then the players heard me a little bit we started drawing which isn't ideal but we started looking good in the drawers at least they're listening they're not implementing but they're listening exactly exactly and yeah then everything comes about and i did think this is going to be a really frustrating game where they're just going to defend Moisey. David Moisey knows what he's doing. Yeah, exactly. He knows, especially with those set of players, he can't really do much else. He's got a good defense and some midfielders that will put themselves about and that's it. It's funny, because I watched his first game. I was on Sunday off and I was like, you know what? I'm going to pop the Sky Sports on today. I'll get the games, pop them on. Everton, Tottenham, David Moyes' first game in charge, why not? And honestly, I assumed Forest Southampton was going to be on TV and it wasn't, so I was fuming. But the whole day passed. But I watched Everton, Tottenham. Everton, when I say murked Tottenham first half, I was like, what? What has happened to Everton? It's been there for two days. They were ridiculous. It was like watching Prime Real Madrid.
00:14:00
Speaker
so I I'm going to win the league. It was 3-0 and it could have been so much more on that first half, I swear. But even their gameplay was crazy, bro. yeah and like Tottenham were literally like, it was like watching like a Sunday league team play them. It was crazy. like it was i Not only Tottenham have got a lot of injuries, I kind of feel sorry for Andrew Bostic, because he's like, it's like his entire team's out. But then Bournemouth's entire team was sat in the stands watching the Forest game and I'm like,
00:14:24
Speaker
Yeah this is what I don't feel bad for and I think he needs to kind of get his act together because like you say the Bournemouth squad against Forrest I was watching that uh or on the heart of a match of the day they were all in the stands like they have so many injuries and look what every other has managed to do with them and yeah Andch has kind of no excuse. And how will he have... Well, I think this is the issue with silent has-beens, people that don't work. You look at, like, their front three, which, you know, I know Solanki's out injured at the minute, but essentially, at the moment, it's Son, um probably Kulesevsky, and whoever that is, is fit through the middle, right? Maybe even Mikey Moore. But if they want to send Kulesevsky and Son to Forrest, that's absolutely fine. I'm pretty sure Brighton would be more than happy to take him on board as well, do you know what I mean?
00:15:11
Speaker
Oh, if it's if we sell Metoma, like it's rumored today to own as if 90 million, why not? Well, yeah, I heard a little rumor that he was going to forest as well. I was going to make a little joke at the start and panic you, but I was like, it's just not believable, is it? that's yeah Having said that, we are we are being linked with Douglas Dewey's Cunha Vissa and somebody like Mathis Tell. And I'm like,
00:15:34
Speaker
Oh my god. These are names that you wouldn't have even been close to at the beginning of last season or even towards the back end of last season. Even Forest fans would have laughed. Let alone other clubs. like we'd have been We'd have laughed at the headlines like, no way. let yeah I'm just waiting for a signed Neymar. I honestly wouldn't be surprised. I'd be like, of course we have. Because why wouldn't we? We're second to the league. if We're having that sort of season. It's that mental. Yeah.
00:16:00
Speaker
ah paid for a new 17 million pound ground with 400,000 seats. Yeah, why not? To be fair, you've got to capitalise on it. While you're while you're in sat in third place, you've got to use that as of some sort of leverage to lure some players in. Keep you there for next season. That's kind of what Villa did, to be fair, is Villa finished fourth last season or whatever it was and have then used that to get themselves into the top eight of the Champions League and kick on slightly and flirt with Champions League again.
00:16:31
Speaker
Yeah, I haven't said that. They're about to sell both Duran and Watkins. I'm like... Well, they've sold, yeah. But they can't sell both, surely. They definitely won't sell both. I think the reason they've sold Duran is so they can keep Watkins. But I'm like, I don't think I've sold Duran. Like, he's 21 and he's unreal. But when Saudi start offering about 70 million for a guy that's played less than a season and starts as your sub, then you're probably going to go, might as well. Yeah, fair. Fair. You're not wrong.
00:17:01
Speaker
You aren't wrong, right. Let's do the GSPN advert and then we'll come back and we'll do lineups next. Cause I think this is going to be, um, it's going to be interesting. Cause it's one of them where like we've both, we've both hit Rocky roads recently, but who's going to come out the claw and flake cluster? This is the, this is the big question. Who's got the flapjack to make it through to the cream of the crop. This podcast is brought to you by the global sports podcast network.

club. Every day.
00:17:51
Speaker
Lovely. Right, starting lineups, are you making any changes from the Everton game? ah
00:18:00
Speaker
i i yeah This is difficult. I probably should have prepared this a bit more. It's hard, isn't it? I want to start seeing Rooter. But the problem is with Rooter, so the change I would make is like Rooter in somewhere because we keep seeing him come off the bench. But it's so difficult with him, like, to not put him on the bench because he's been a super sub lately. And when someone has that super sub reputation, it's like the Chicharito effect when he was at Man United. I bet that was outrageous, wasn't it? He could just keep playing him.
00:18:35
Speaker
Yeah, ah so, will I make changes? Yeah, put Ruiter in over Gruder, to be fair. I think, yeah, Gruder started as right wing. Get Ruiter over in the right wing, even though he's not fully a right winger. Is Gruder a winger, though? ah Well, that's why he's been kind of shoved there, yeah. He's more of a cam, though, is he not?
00:18:59
Speaker
Well, I think he played for Frank for no mines. He played as a bit of out of cam or right attacking mid and slash winger. So I think that's why they thought, oh, you know what? He could probably do a job as a winger. He's 25 mil. You paid for him, by the way. Yeah, he's not. I mean, he's still 20 years old. I want to he's not been terrible either. He just hasn't really done anything.
00:19:24
Speaker
but when When he's on the ball, he looks good. like looks like He's a capable dribbler. He looks like he's one for the future as well. ah but yeah He's not really... He's like one of them. When Kai say that, when he actually gets a bit of form, you'll be like, wow, he's unreal. Yeah, fingers crossed. As soon as he starts playing well, he's going to be like 80 million. yeah Fingers crossed, five years down the line. You didn't sell people for less than that. You didn't sell people for less than that. For us to look at a stupid and I'm like, right, that's 50 million down the drain.
00:19:53
Speaker
Oh, you don't want him. Oh, really? He's not good. Oh, no, he's been terrible. We're looking. Well, me, Joe and bless all think we should get a new left back. I don't know. That's an unpopular opinion amongst us Brighton fans. But, yeah, we ever since his injury, he's just not been the same. Interesting. Yeah, but having said that, imagine him under Nuno. Yeah, I mean, yeah, you if he only has to def defend and then just whip balls in every now and then, maybe we I think the problem is we play such a high line and then we leave him very isolated on the wing. He's rapid though. He should be quick enough to get back. Oh, no, he's not anymore. That's exactly what I'm trying to say. Yeah, he's not. Oh, he's not fast. Oh, no, Savino. Name any winger he's come up against. They've smoked him for pace. Oh, no.
00:20:43
Speaker
ah We'll have Cardioglio instead. Yeah. eases all I mean, we've been unlucky with him. he's We bought him, got injured straight away. played He's played about five games this season, I want to say. Is ah is there an issue with your sign-in process? Because when Riley got so injured straight away as well. like They get like a curse as they walk through the door. no Injury, three months. Injury, six months. Welcome to Brighton.
00:21:07
Speaker
That's the way we do things. Well, you know, Matt O'Reilly, poor bloke, he got absolutely crunched in an EFL game. It was like Scunthorpe or something as well. Your management was fuming at that as well. I mean, it was savage, but the interview was funny. They were like, I'm furious. I was like, run and hide, run and hide. Imagine.
00:21:32
Speaker
Yeah, okay, roots are in. and Who would you put alongside in Matoma? I'm guessing it's gotta be Matoma, surely. Yeah, Matoma can carry... Well, unless it's a transfer news is getting to his head and maybe we're thinking we'll even be there when we play on Saturday. Listen, if you want to rest him, that's absolutely absolutely fine. We'll... Do you know what? We'll... If you want to rest him, we're we're resting Caleb Hudson or Lloyd because he's injured. I tell you what, we'll do one each. That's fair, isn't it? yeah So yeah, maybe a dingra. Maybe a dingra has to go there or a router has to go there. It's not that much better for us though, is it really?
00:22:05
Speaker
do better Yeah, he ever since the start of this season, he had some good games at the beginning, but then he's gone very much off the boil. I am thinking like, if yeah, dingra. What about minte? What's happened to minte?
00:22:23
Speaker
okay Yeah, that's basically the best way to put it. This is the most deflating Brighton chat ever. What's this player? I'm not right. This is... There are some players here that I love. Like, Adore, Belieber, walks into any team in the Premier League. I'm confident of that. Is he fit? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's one big, muscular man. Oh, no, mate, is he fit as in for the weekend? Oh, yeah, he's that as well.
00:22:53
Speaker
isn Essentially, what it is, is you don't fancy any of the players. Apart from believer. They're about three. yeah Max. ah that they Not bad at football, but no. I've rusted him on the bench. if face Manager's not bad though, is he? That manager, woof, woof. Hurts a little bit of me. That's why I don't want to see him go. People calling for his lecture and a bad runner form. I was fully advocating for him to stay.
00:23:21
Speaker
I bet you were. I bet you let him hurt some of you any time of the week. Come on. and Not him, not it. All right, so what are you starting on up then? And goal? Yeah, so the Brogan, I think Veltman will forgive him for his error last week. How's your favourite Van Hacke getting on?
00:23:38
Speaker
Oh, now he's class. He's still babysitting Lewis Dunk, which he'll have to do for... How's he maybe sitting Lewis Dunk when Lewis Dunk's on the bench? Is he that good? ah Lewis Dunk is... and past it, unfortunately, I think. Does he actually play, though? I thought it was Veltman and Van Hecke in the middle. No, Veltman is our right back. Is Lamptey that bad? He's playing... He played left back last game. What?! Which is Esta Pinianis.
00:24:08
Speaker
Oh, you've got defensive issues, man. I know. Even in the championship, I didn't think Forest fans would be the one educating on defense. You know what I mean? Like, let alone this season, it's mental. This is we do have defensive issues, you're right. And we've done nothing to solve them in the transfer window. What's Hinshaw doing? He can play it right back. He's injured till next December, mate. Of course he is. It's a tough time. But yeah, he could have.
00:24:36
Speaker
Not that he did that well there, he was much better in the middle actually, uh, for us. But, yeah, it's, we've- At times it's tough. We were, well me, Joe and Bless have done like these sensible signings, like videos as our Wildcard Wednesdays and we've been saying, let's buy a left back, let's buy a centre back, we've bought no one. So Dunk has to play now, or Eagle, it's a toss-up between those two, like which one can be worse on the day? Oh right, okay.
00:25:05
Speaker
And then Lamptey,

sometimes right back, sometimes left back. Esther Pinyan, sometimes left back. I suppose the issue with PSR, you spent a lot in summer. Yeah, we did, to be fair but all on attackers. No defensive work. It's not necessarily a bad thing.
00:25:22
Speaker
Not when you can sell them for 90 million to be fair. You should look up for the start of next season. I know he's probably not quite there yet, but I think he's going to be a top player in a few years. That Harwood Bellis from Southampton. Yeah, they're going down as well. He'd be a very Brighton signing. Yeah. Like like Palace signing Roman Essay from Millwall is the most Palace signing you've ever seen in your life. Also, do you not just love the fact that the commentators have got to say Essay and Essay in the same team? Yeah.
00:25:48
Speaker
This is gold, innit? Made it hard work for them, haven't they? They've just done that on purpose. Yeah, 100%. Like I really want... They should start S'ed opinion as well. Everyone with S at the start of the team. Great. who's in there Who's in midfield then? You've got Noah at the back.
00:26:03
Speaker
Yeah. So just thinking, we'll just roll the dice at the back. um Just wherever floats that it hurts the boat that day. yeah And then in the middle, Belieber, he just, he's a stone wall to start. Agari is one of my favorites. Oh, is he? He's shot up the ranks since last time then. Yeah. Yeah. He's, ah, he's class. I think he's like so underrated. No one knows about him. Other than people that watch Brighton week in week out. ah So good.
00:26:32
Speaker
It's like Anderson at the start of the season. Yeah, and that's what, well, that's the thing. We signed so many midfielders as well. We signed, so we got a new guy that's just come in. Diego Gomez, we signed from America. Yeah, 11 million though. That's a lot of money. Yeah, that was like, yeah, 25, I think it was. He might play tomorrow. I think, no, I think it was 11.
00:26:53
Speaker
Ah. I should probably know how to be fair. That's nice close. Close. Only 14 million off. Yeah, it's within 100 million. yes You find don't worry about it. Right as well. We've we've signed him. He played every now and then. He was like 30 mil. Yeah. And he was 30 million and Wiffer is. He's stinking up the gaff, to be honest, left, left, right and centre. He was also 30 mil. Yeah.
00:27:24
Speaker
The best, the the man, it's crazy. Our best midfielder, aside from Belieber, this season has been the guy that's been 900k. And no one knew of, and that's O'Yaru. Oh really? Well there you go. Proves the scouts, doesn't it? It's Class. That's Classic Brighton. And Hincherwood from the Academy. O'Reilly's a good player though.
00:27:47
Speaker
yeah Yeah, I think you yeah, you you just need some time to be fair. I think even even when he when he's played, he's been decent. And then how are you fitting you from four together, then? Because you've got Japhedros on fire at the minute, as always. He's just has to play. He is basically the heartbeat of the team, the creative spark. Well, Bex back as well. ah ah Has gone off the board a lot.
00:28:11
Speaker
but we'll we'll stick with him because him and Pedro sometimes they can just work together so well. What happened to Ferguson? Has he just got injured too many times? I think he might still be injured. No, I think he might be coming back. Because you're only about loaning him out. Yeah, that's the thing. I think alone is the best move for him. He's not betting well back. Is it just to get fit basically?
00:28:33
Speaker
I think it's to try and cash in afterwards. Oh really? I think that's where it should go. That's my personal opinion, what I would do. Loan him out, get like him playing well for six months, and then see if you can like cash in, get some success for it. Yeah, I think we're all good signing for Forest, but i just we're just we we're we're getting better at not signing injury playing players because we just had such a bad history of it.
00:28:57
Speaker
Oh, and also he could not even come close to lacing Chris Wood's boots at the moment. Yeah, that's true. He's young though, he could do one day. He is, yeah, 21. But then he broke on the burst on the scene like Micah Richards at like 18, so. Yeah. I mean, what what's happened in the last three years? Who knows?
00:29:17
Speaker
apart from injuries. So you've got Pedro, probably Matoma. Yeah. And then that's a big rooter. And yeah, that's what I'm going for. That guy, Danny Welbeck. That's a good line up there. Yeah. I probably hope it's a blip. So I'd probably still save with the four, two, three, one, I think, especially at home and go through at the back will be a bit rogue. It's probably sales and goal. I know.
00:29:44
Speaker
well And as he drops Nico and gives it a change, maybe Moreno, a bit more experienced about Moreno. Morello, Milankovic, and Aina at right back in his trusty right back position. I think... Well, he'll keep Yates in midfield. I think he might drop Yates. I think it'll be Dominguez, Anderson, Gibbs, White. Hudson-Adoye is still out. So I think he will probably...
00:30:10
Speaker
likely keep Jota a Langer and would, although he might mix it up and play Soza. So that's the issue, because Jota and Soza are the two that combine for the goal at Brighton. They both look good, but they're not quite the finished articles. We haven't really got anyone to actually fully replace. I um really like you Jota. Every time he comes on, he comes on with energy and looks fairly like a threat.
00:30:36
Speaker
Yeah. And he might be all right at home if he starts. I think he just needs to start a few games. So I think this could be his opportunity to get to get in the squad. So it's going to be a good game. I think, you know, it could go either way. I think it's going to be a battle of the midfields really. and And who makes that mistake? But yeah. Yeah. All fun. All good.

Closing Remarks and Match Excitement

00:30:52
Speaker
who who you tell What's your score prediction? I'm going to say positive. I'm going to say we're going to come back. But I think it'll probably be 2-1. All edger 1-0.
00:31:02
Speaker
ah ah Yeah, I think I'm I've actually had this thing where I told bless I'm gonna go into the new year and Be less positive or less less unrealistic, you know, let's bigging up Brighton because they have to big them up They would end up losing the same up Every time I did say five nil. Yeah All right you last week yeah Yeah, because then if you if you do if you do say five, now hopefully you'll lose. yeah Yes. Tactics, not just a pretty face. um'm I'm going to go... ah
00:31:40
Speaker
one they were not even for us because I think it's just going to be an impossible game for us to break you down. We so already suck against a low block and against a team that's actually brilliant at defending and are committed to the cause, Milenkovic and Murillo in terms of blocking shots. Then you've got Anderson in there to also but his put himself about, yeah, I'm not really liking our looks of actually scoring.
00:32:05
Speaker
Yeah, it's hard, isn't it? It's hard. I also think it's hilarious in that the next two or three weeks, we might know who the bottom three are. Yeah. Because at the top half of the table, even down to like 14th, they're all on like 33 points. and but The bottom three aren't catching that. Well, and it's good for you guys. ah Yeah, you've got rivalry wolves, don't you?
00:32:24
Speaker
No, not really. Ours is Leicester, probably. ah I was going to say, they're almost... Even better. Yeah. It's them and wolves that are in that bottom three, four race to get relegated. So I think one of think they're they're all the four that are going to go down. three I think he absolutely should do it, you know.
00:32:46
Speaker
or Because they've just signed a lot of really good attacking players. And I think the issue is, I think if they do survive, I think next year they're going to be really good. They've done it right. But if they do go down, I want to sign their entire front line. Do you know what I mean? Hutching some will have him, Dilapk will have him. And Eugene, yeah, why not? Bring him across. No, we want Dilapk. We need a striker desperately because Danny Welbeck can't be doing this forever.
00:33:12
Speaker
Neither can Chris Wood. He's 33. True. He might still be good last season. Yeah, but he's got his head. Is Al Pedro and still is still a good player? A 1U can't walk. yeah He's been injured that many times. He was so good last season, a 1U.
00:33:29
Speaker
I know it's such a shame. It'll still be a fan favourite. Right, we're going to end up chatting sugar for ages. So we'll better wrap it up. But enjoy the game this weekend, guys, if you're all going to watch it. And we'll see you on many more crossovers over the rest of the season. Best of luck to Brighton for the rest of the year. We actually love Brighton. And thank you for the three points on set. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Pleasure as always, Jamie. And then yeah, all the best. Yeah, thanks, Mark.
00:33:58
Speaker
I would say same, but don't mean it.
