Introduction to The Daily Forest Podcast

00:00:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome back to the Daily Forest podcast here at the Global Sports Podcast Network.

Nottingham Forest's Dubai Trip vs. Routine Days

00:00:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now in the last few days, Forest have been out in Dubai. James, has your last few days been quite as exciting as that?
00:00:24
James
ah No, it's not. I've made some short rides, still got my pinny, and I'm missing the football, I'll be honest.
00:00:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it's um quite unusual that um our weekend game has been moved to move to a Tuesday. Let's head about the with FA broadcasting contracts the better, but from a forest point of view, going away to Dubai, not having any last minute sales or 10 players turning up at the training ground on transfer deadline day, probably for the best when you look at the grand, although greater context of the season.

Transfer Market Strategy: Stability or Missed Opportunity?

00:00:55
James
Yeah, it's so strange, and everything is strange about this season anyway that we're having to get used to, and but just some of the weirdities, the oddities of this season, and like you say, there being no deadline day drama, there were lights on at the city grounds, which is usually you know they the the way or the indication that someone's being signed, and that was the ah the young lad from Reading who went straight back.
00:01:21
James
um But yeah, it's all quiet on the Western Front.
00:01:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
And you think that's a good thing. I mean, we we don't want to dwell too long on on deadline day now, but would you have wanted that extra attacking player maybe or on balance? And you know, we trust if there was no player available who would have improved that 11, you have to stick stick with what we have for those remaining 14 league games left in the season.

Squad Stability: A Key to Success?

00:01:48
James
Yeah, I think the the mix that we've got at the minute is is good and that the stage we're at in this season is so vital to keep the status quo and keep the balance that we've found that I think it would have been twice as or if not even you know 10 times as delicate a situation to start introducing big players and right in the middle of the the season whereas in the summer maybe there'll be that opportunity to bring in some some bigger names that can add to it but I think the danger of bringing in like another Emmanuel Dennis or something like that ah and you know Kyle Bosch in the squad was too much.
00:02:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think you think I agree, especially up front, because if we had bought one of striker and you're either going to bring in a striker who's happy sitting on the bench, in which case you got to question the mentality.
00:02:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
we'll be bringing in this striker who's expected to start and then what does that take to Chris Wood who's been so so fantastic for the whole season. So you're right, I don't think bringing in a signing would necessarily have been been the best option.
00:03:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
And yeah, we've seen flickers

Steve Cooper's Career: What's Next?

00:03:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
from the likes of Ramon Sosa, Joseph Silva, Danilo and Tengari coming back from their injuries here on balance.
00:03:02
James
So.
00:03:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think keeping the squad the same and I know that Ward Proust left, but you can't argue that would weaken the squad based on how little you played in your Well, I know thoughts about war and prowess, I think all in all, it was a very successful January window for Forrest.
00:03:22
James
Yeah, and absolutely. and What about the news this week about and the the sheep down the road losing their shepherd and worn being sacked? But then the the odds for Cooper taking the job, which and any club in that position, I could see Cooper being attractive for what he did for us from that position, but surely it can't go to Derby as well.
00:03:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean,
00:03:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now I think if Cooper is genuinely interested in the Derby job, I think all that means is he loves lit living in Nottinghamshire so much that he doesn't want to move move out again. So that's probably one of the reasons maybe why he took Leicester. And that could surely be the only reason why he'd go to Derby, that he just loves love the region.
00:04:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
so much. So yeah, it would be interesting to see where Steve Cooper ends up next. I think at some point he'll go to Rexham because he's from an area and he'll be the big superstar signing for their documentary former Premier League head coach Steve Cooper.

Steve Cooper at Leicester: A Mistake to Go to Derby?

00:04:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, I think it looks like Darby are going to bring in John Eustace from Blackburn, which is again quite odd because Blackburn are in the playoffs and Darby are in the relegation zone. So yeah, that's, I mean, Darby are Maybe I think see there's problems with Blackburn rather than benefits of Derby.
00:04:38
James
Wow.
00:04:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Let's say it that way.
00:04:41
James
Well. Yeah, I'm all about that. I mean, it upset me a bit when you went to Leicester, but Leicester, let's be honest, and not it's not a traditional Derby, at least for my generation that that we've been going to. So, as as much as Leicester would love to think that Leicester Forest was a big Derby, it's not. ah so but But going to Derby would have really kind of tarnished him in that respect, but I'll be i'll be glad that he doesn't, and because I do like the guy.
00:05:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I

Nuno's Contract and European Competition: Renew Now?

00:05:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
think his Leicester time is is now forgiven almost because he's maybe made maybe played his part in Leicester going straight back down. But you're right, I think if if you go into Derby straight after Leicester then we'd unfortunately have to cast him just as a as a mercenary going wherever wherever the catch is as long as it's within a 45 minute drive of his of his home.
00:05:32
James
Yeah.
00:05:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
um No, again, in terms of the managerial situation, I'm just talking of of managers. There were some whispers about a week ago about giving Nuno a new contract.
00:05:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
So his current deal expires end of next season, so so much 2026. Do you think there should be a priority or do you think more of the playing side is the priority and Nuno, we don't need to need to rush to do it quite as quickly?
00:06:00
James
I think first of all the contracts around managers I think are seem to be less important because I don't think managers kind of walk away and that we don't pay a transfer fee for them as such. I know that we did pay so many for Cooper and different things but usually you don't pay a transfer fee for a manager.
00:06:18
James
and unless it's a release clause. So um in that respect I'm not worrying about him walking away and the club and would save a lot of money in not giving him an extended contract when they eventually do part ways because let's be honest it's football.

Nuno's Future with Forest: European Ambitions?

00:06:37
James
um But then at the same time, the uncertainty around the managerial situation can leak into the squad. And next season is going to be difficult with the hopefully European football as well.
00:06:52
James
So I'd say give him a new contract and give, you know what, give it to him now. Because if you give it to him in the summer and we've qualified for the Champions League, he's got a much bigger stick to beat Marinakis with when it comes to demanding money. Whereas right now nothing's been achieved. So give it to him now.
00:07:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and I think that's a good point. I mean, maybe, like with everything, if he gets us into the Champions League this season or minimum Europa League or something, and then maybe he says that's as far as he can take us, and then maybe he chooses to, I don't know, after the World Cup, take the Portugal job or something like that.

Managerial Longevity at Nottingham Forest?

00:07:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
you're right although Nuno certainly we're all in Nuno we trust at the moment yeah football football is a very short term business and yeah will Nuno definitely be the manager of forest in two years from now we can't say that because history suggests he probably won't be but no that's good
00:07:51
James
Yeah. Alfie seems to think that he will be. So, Alan, do you think Nuno is going to be with Forrest Alf? Alan's got left on his contract. A year. A year. I think he'll sign a new contract for three years and then he'll see how it goes.
00:08:16
James
A new contract for three years. Could you imagine if Forrest had a manager that lasted, it'd be half the season from last season this year and then three more, four and a half years, the same manager.
00:08:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it would be longest, longest in my lifetime, for sure.
00:08:26
James
oh
00:08:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Longest as Frank Clark, even, or um maybe maybe even even he was less than four years.
00:08:29
James
yeah Yeah.
00:08:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, but could he be longest as Clough?
00:08:35
James
Yeah, that'd be crazy, wouldn't it? That'd be amazing.
00:08:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:08:37
James
and It'd be a record for Maranaki, surely.
00:08:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Not

FA Cup vs. League: What's the Priority?

00:08:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
completely. Yeah. I don't know how many managers at an PR cost we'll have in having that time. I don't know, but no yeah.
00:08:46
James
Yeah.
00:08:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
But about the as we go into sort of the next next phase of the season then, so we've got the FA Cup coming up on Tuesday.
00:08:48
James
and
00:08:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know that we've we've said before. that it's maybe not a priority, but having seen already this weekend Liverpool dropout, Chelsea dropout, Man City playing so unconvincingly.
00:09:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Have you changed your mind? Do you see a path open up for a potential Forest Road all the way or are you still the same as you were 10 days ago or so when we last spoke on this topic? Don't care, you want to focus on that top three league finish.
00:09:20
James
um
00:09:22
James
I will admit that it is more attractive because being the top rated team in the competition, you it's a feeling that i've I've never had before in my life and didn't realise until just a few minutes ago when I saw it online.
00:09:43
James
and then thought wow that's that's a weird feeling being like the favorite for once for such a big competition as well the fa cup um unreal so i kind of want to stick with that now kind of yeah i've changed my tune but like you say a lot of big teams have gone out um so yeah i say go for it
00:10:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it will certainly be very interesting to see whether this has subtly changed the plans of Nuno.

FA Cup Match Preview: Forest vs. Exeter

00:10:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
I would hope not. I would hope he's focusing on forest and only forest. And if it was planning to, for example, rest Ibswain Elanga, he isn't going to suddenly change his mind just because Liverpool lost to Plymouth, that they should but should be unconnected. No, it is definitely very interesting to see where but the priorities let lie and we will find out right now before kickoff on Tuesday where the priorities do lie.
00:10:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
um that Speaking of, maybe there'll be options off the bench to make make an impact. Speaking of options off the bench, we are now joined by Marley, who will share his thoughts on the January transfer window with us after the break.
00:11:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Marley, are you with us? Can you hear us?
00:11:46
James
Marlon, can't see you, bro. Oh well, it'll come on in a minute, I'm sure.
00:11:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, we'll give him a bit more time. So it's a James, what's your styling lineup for Exeter? 11 changes from from the team who beat Brighton 7-0, or would you go half and half, five of the regulars, six of the more second string, or um would you have completely fully, fully strength?
00:12:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Would you

Exeter's League Strategy: Impact on FA Cup?

00:12:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
see Nuno picking on Tuesday?
00:12:09
James
well Well... ah Well, we know it's going to be Carlos Miguel in net. He's the cup goalkeeper, so he'll be in net. Then we've got, and at the back, yeah, I think it's going to be Bali Morata. I think the the back four will and change. We'll have either Moreno or Toffolo at left back. Or did Moreno go alone in the end?
00:12:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now, McReynolds took around here, so we only from, ah again, the the room is you go back to Spain, but we we only lost Ward-Brown, so he's still there.
00:12:36
James
They really lost ah
00:12:40
James
Yeah. So, so I think Moreno will come on at left back and and I think right back will be. ah
00:12:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Marara, yep.
00:12:50
James
Moreira, the other guy, or Marley Shout for the Ballon d'Or.
00:12:56
James
And then Midfield would be Yates, Dominguez, then...
00:13:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, no, not Sangari.
00:13:05
James
No, I still don't think he's fit enough. and I do think he'll play. Or maybe he'll start.
00:13:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:13:10
James
Maybe he'll start. Maybe it'll be Yates and Sangare. And then with Yotta, Sosa, and Ohoni. So yeah, I think he 11 changes.
00:13:21
James
Who would you have on the right? Who's on the right?
00:13:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it would be just just as I want you as a front three. So yeah, I can't see. Yeah, but if he's going to make it 11 changes, the only alternative from what what you've said is to do. Because Murata did play, of course, against Brighton. So we're going for literally 11 changes. You put Tofolo Abbott partnering Bali at centre back. Of course, Tofolo played centre back in that looting game. So yeah, that would be a possibility to If you want to really make 11 changes and shoehorn toffolo in, and then then you could do, but ultimately, yeah, Morato, he's not played every single game all season, so he plays two games this week. It is not going to be be be the end of the world. I'm sure he's wanting to build a bit of a run, build a bit of momentum into edge the team.
00:14:14
James
Yeah, ah I think, yeah, it beholds cell changes. Got to be. Let's be honest. Exeter shouldn't be a difficult game. I'm not saying it won't be. You know, the today Plymouth beating Liverpool, I think only four times they said, has the bottom club in the championship or the second tier beating the top club in the top tier of the Premier League as it is at the moment.

Tyrone's Role Against Exeter: Ready to Shine?

00:14:40
James
So, you know, these things happen. We're at Exeter right now in the league system. League one.
00:14:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
In League 1, yeah, so they're in the in the third tier. um So yeah, the point is to do our research and find out where exactly in in League 1 they are, because with Plymouth, they had such a bad season with with Wayne Bruni that they needed just something, at a shot in the dark, to invigorate their season.
00:15:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
What's interesting is Exeter are 18th in League 1, currently a few points of other relegation zones.
00:15:03
James
Yes.
00:15:08
James
yeah
00:15:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think almost that they want to i means that they won't have their full focus on honours because they don't want to be dragged into that relegation zone. Whereas Plymouth, they've always completely gone down so they had this moment in the sun to get themselves was a bit of um and a bit of pride and a bit of one memory in this lousy Wayne Rooney started season. Because of the Exeter, I've got more in play. I think that means they possibly won't be as up for it as Plymouth were, which even with that team we've we've mentioned before, we should comfortably get past them. um Let's come to one or two of the players in that team. So what do you think?
00:15:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Tyrone's headspace will be in. It was rumours all January he might even leave to Everton or to West Ham even but he stayed and no one else came in to replace him. Well that increases confidence maybe but he knows that there's still at least a bit of faith in him. He's going to start on Tuesday maybe and he might fit get a bit of form or does he worry you even in the team against Exeter and you are you in the camp if that he's he finished, he's past it?
00:16:18
James
Now, to be honest, I think Taiwo's got to come out and and be bagging hat-trick. I think he's got to just just come out and have that energy about him. ah He always shows and you know bright sparks and different things. Yes, he doesn't seem to be the Taiwo from the first season, but he's just not had the run of games, has he? And it's difficult to get it in front of wood at the minute. I don't think any striker um bar some of the really world-class strikers out there at the minute would get in ahead of wood in this purple patch that he's got going on and so yeah but I think I won't eat.
00:16:59
James
Take your chance, mate. its this is your This is your time. You'll get 60, 70 minutes. um And I genuinely don't think he'll play on 90 minutes regardless of how we perform he You get 60 and 70 minutes and then Woodall come on for just, you know, keep his legs warm. They did it against Luton and they brought on some of the bigger players against Luton when, you know, we didn't need to. We've scored the second goal.
00:17:26
James
um but I think they bring them on just to keep some minutes in the legs and and keep them ticking over because, you know, keep them that sharp.

Technical Difficulties: Transfer Insights Delayed

00:17:37
James
But yeah, a warning, tick by the horns.
00:17:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
it Yeah, it is interesting that I think I spoke with Marley on a podcast a couple of weeks ago when we were looking early ahead to Exeter, and Marley said he would like some of the academy players, some of the B-Team players to get some game time against Exeter, but they were all loaned out. ah Joe Gardner to to Lincoln, Ben Perry to Northampton,
00:17:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Sarva Osong to another league one side, I don't know, Cambridge, I believe. So yeah, all of those older B-team players, the 2021 year olds, as opposed to the teenagers, were loned out. Do you think that's a good thing? Are they going to be playing half a season of League One football rather than the occasional sub-appearance for Forrest in the first team? Or do you think it leaves us a bit light because, yeah, if Tyra's not going to play the whole game, he's going to have to be Chris Wood, making the long journey to Exeter just for 15, 20 minutes. Or would you not see that as a concern?
00:18:28
James
No, I think because we've got such a tight unit at the moment, Nuno has obviously seen that and thought there's there's probably not going to be the opportunity for some of these kids to get, and unless heaven forbid we get and injuries, in which case I'm sure in in some cases we might be able to recall some of these players depending on what the contracts were, but yeah it he Again, I don't want to upset the apple cart trying to shoehorn youth players in and different things like that when every game is going to be a cup final basically from now to the end of the season.
00:19:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Speaking of shoe hoarding in, are younger talents, Marley, can you hear us this time?
00:19:13
James
No! Oh my days!
00:19:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
No? Let's give him another ad break and see see how he's getting on.

Future Podcast Plans: Tactics and Transfers

00:19:31
James
box
00:19:52
James
Is Marley here?
00:19:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, it didn't make it. The that the pathway for for first team minutes on the podcast is still still blocked up. Marley is still AWOL, unfortunately. But no, that just means that for those listening, we'll have to do another episode tomorrow. Maybe do a tactics Tuesday before the game with Marley so he can share his thoughts on what happened in the January transfer window and what he thinks is going to happen.
00:20:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
As you said a few minutes ago, James, in our 14 Cup Finals, ah we have remaining in in the league.

Forest's Crucial Matches: Can They Overcome Defeats?

00:20:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So without wanting to go through all 14 matches, let's go through the next four, because the interesting thing is, there are against four of the five teams we've lost to so far.
00:20:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
So that's Fulham, Arsenal, Newcastle and City all in a row.
00:20:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
So what would be a good point to return from those four games for you?
00:20:45
James
Oof.
00:20:48
James
Nine.
00:20:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
9 from 12, yeah. So I think that's just revenge. Will we have learned what went wrong in in those defeats? Or do you think we're better now than we were in October and November when those initial games happened?
00:21:01
James
We've got to beat We'll beat Fulham.
00:21:08
James
And then it will be a loss and a win from Arsenal and Newcastle. I don't know which way around. I want to say Newcastle are form at the minute. um and you know That will be a tougher game than Arsenal.
00:21:25
James
probably, you know, Arsenal seem to be grinding out results. Um, Kai Havertz seems to be randomly, randomly managing to score. So it'll be tough, but I'm, I'm saying the city's going to be in revenge.
00:21:40
James
Um, because they're just, what is it? They're absolute dross at the minute.
00:21:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it's crazy how the only game they've played well in in the last three months was somehow when they beat us as in December.
00:21:47
James
Um,
00:21:51
James
o
00:21:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
And apart from that, mean last weekend in the Premier League, they started the weekend with a goal difference, 11 better than ours, and we equalled it. We won 7-0, they lost by four goals.
00:22:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
We've now got the same goal difference as them, an 11 goal swing just in in the match days last weekend. so ah Yeah, it will be really interesting.
00:22:11
James
Right.
00:22:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
So City are, I think, the only, certainly the only big six team we haven't beaten yet back in the Premier League. Maybe we haven't beaten Bournemouth. Yeah, I think it could just be just City and Bournemouth.
00:22:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
We haven't beaten since our return to the Premier League.
00:22:25
James
let's let's ah Let's just clarify something, right? You said Big Sixteen. Who are your Big Six these days? Because i I don't think the traditional Big Six are the traditional Big Six anymore.
00:22:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, I mean, I'll,
00:22:38
James
I'd say City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea. Who else?
00:22:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, but by by big six in that comment, we haven't beaten the big six.
00:22:48
James
cause
00:22:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
The big six as of when we got promoted. So you have to add in United and Spurs.
00:22:55
James
Yeah.
00:22:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
We were all looking forward to playing them as the big six when we first got into it. But you're right, there there isn't a big six now.
00:23:00
James
Yeah.
00:23:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
You can maybe put put Villa in there.
00:23:03
James
Yeah.
00:23:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Villa ahead of Spurs. Villa ahead of Champions League now. But you're right, it just doesn't seem right, does it? Sound right.
00:23:08
James
I'd say, I'd say if you want to put Villa in there, then next season you put us in there. You know what I mean? But then we wouldn't be, wouldn't we?
00:23:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:23:15
James
Let's be honest right now. We're not big six, even if we get Champions League this season, we're not going to be big six next season. I think you need to be consistently hitting that top four, top five, top six slots.

Premier League's Big Six: A Changing Perception?

00:23:28
James
So I think Man United and Spurs, you're going top, there's a big four, that's it.
00:23:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think it... I mean, the the muscle memory, I think you you'd always look at many United being a successful win just because you remember them being good, but then every year they aren't, that gets further and further away. Marley, fifth time lucky, who are Manchester United still a big club, go... Yes!
00:24:03
James
can't wait for them to come to the city ground.
00:24:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, with we will be clear favourites. I mean, not just, ooh, I think Forrest can sneak a win. The Forrest will go into the game as clear favourites. Looking for what will be a third straight Premier League win against Manchester United. So yeah, yeah, I don't even know when it is off top of my head because it's not a fixture circle in my calendar because this season, they just aren't very good. They aren't challenging.
00:24:32
James
Yeah, this it's, yeah, Big Four, United, you're sunk. Like, yeah, there can be a big historic club, but I'd say, you know, historically, we've done big things, and but current Big Four, Big Six, Man United aren't there. Anyway.
00:24:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Definitely. So Tom Marley, earlier in the episode James and myself weren't too upset about the lack of signings. We thought it would be risking that the team spirit of the big signing came in and we were happy that the guys were often due by growing a team spirit even further. What's your take? Would you still rather have had one or two extra bodies in or are you also content with how the window ended up?
00:25:33
James
um not
00:25:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
oop Yeah, I think with the descent of that, I mean, yeah, that fifth centre back was Andrew Amabamadele and I think the um gamble was made that 14 games left.
00:25:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Amabamadele didn't play a single Premier League minute. It'd be unfair to keep him not playing minutes. He needs that experience in Strasbourg and really to sign somebody to potentially also not play often, yeah, thing on balance. Maybe they're happy with Bali being that current backup option.
00:26:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
and Zac Habbard as an emergency, maybe they were happy enough with that. Because you're right, we've got Bobby Marato, Morello Milankovic, to keep at least two of those fit, I think i think we should do, especially with not not so many games and left.

FA Cup Draw's Impact on Motivation for Forest and Exeter?

00:26:24
James
Well, yeah, and I think you could pretty much say you won't be on the bench on Tuesday in Exeter.
00:26:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:26:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, if we needed someone immediately with Tyler Bindon, he could have joined now, but the fact that he was low and straight back to Reading for the end of the season suggests, yeah, that the Murillo, it won't be in the squad on Tuesday, but he will then be, again, on against Fulham for coming Saturday.
00:26:51
James
So what we think in the score is going to be on Tuesday, Exeter.
00:26:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, i i I'll i'll go go quick, so I've said some thoughts about Exeter, maybe not being as focused as Plymouth were, so I think it'll be same as Luton, a nice straightforward 2-0 win for Forrest. So Marley, from your side, you've quickly previewed the game. On your side, who would you like to see play and what should the score would be?
00:27:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah so you put um
00:27:25
James
not
00:27:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
you put...
00:27:28
James
Yeah, I like that.
00:27:31
James
Well, I'm scared of hackers. I'm scared of... players getting told by their manager, nothing to lose, free hit tonight. We're not expected to beat Nottingham Forest. Go out there, you know, play your little socks off. And the in the first 10 minutes, some less than skilled, overly ambitious centre back, two foots. One of our good players, like, and they're all good players, but one of our main players, like Anderson, and puts him out for the rest of the season.
00:28:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it isn't ingesting it. Marley, you mentioned the draw. The draw will be made Monday, so ahead of our match on Tuesday, which James and myself hadn't thought of when we did the first part of the episode. Because you're right, if the next round, if it is Millwall at home or Stoke at home, someone boring for both of us, then it's not going to affect either team's mindsets at all. But if it is Manchester United at home, that might increase the excitement for Exeter. If it is Darby against Plymouth,
00:28:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
It also might put a bit of extra spice to Exeter, but most importantly, Exeter can't get a bigger draw in the fifth round because in the fourth round they're already playing the highest ranked team and left in the tournament. So on on that note, Marley, thank you for joining us for the last few minutes of the episode and James and producer Alfie, thanks for being with us for the whole time. And we'll be back with plenty more episodes this week as we review Exeter and look ahead to Fulham.
00:29:09
James
ah people go
