Introduction and Football Talk

00:00:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome back to the GSPN Daily Forex Podcast. Joining me, Stuart, we've got looking nice and snug and warm. We've got James. James, how are you doing?
00:00:18
James
Absolutely, I'm warm. Warming McCockles getting ready for another killer weekend of football and with Forrest, hopefully bringing home another three points.

Transfer News Highlights

00:00:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Definitely. And also on the podcast today is Marley. Marley, how are you doing today? How's your week been?
00:00:35
Marley
Thank you.
00:00:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Exciting transfer news, possibly.
00:00:40
Marley
yeah well considering last night we confirmed while we were on podcast that we had signed a new contract with centre back morillo just before we came on podcast today we've announced a new contract for striker chris wood who bags goals for fun so that is massive news really really makes the week worth it and hopefully both players can celebrate their new contracts on saturday with really good performances and maybe even a goal
00:01:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, definitely.

Morillo and Chris Wood: Contract Details

00:01:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
It'll be great to see yeah but both of them. I mean, the the contracts are at different stages of of their of their career. I mean, Morello's deal was a ah four year extension or four years from now, taking him till 2029. By that point, is his kid who had a gender reveal on the city ground pitch a few weeks ago will be two or three years old. How much of his life that kid will live in Nottingham, I don't know.
00:01:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Whereas Chris Wood's contract, it's his last big contract at a major, major football club. But despite the different.
00:01:34
James
How long is the contract?
00:01:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's it two years, isn't it, Marley? For Chris Wood, I saw for a bit of a share of Romano tweet.
00:01:37
Marley
yeah but It's two years 2027.
00:01:38
James
okay
00:01:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, which is I think the perfect. um Because he'll stay as a leading striker, I think, for the rest of this season and then next year he'll play a similar number of games to this year.
00:01:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
But because of our extra competition matches, hopefully in Europe, it'll be fewer Premier League games and he'll maybe be our Europa League or more striker than the second year, maybe play more of a supporting option. But getting him signed up is so important, ah James.
00:02:08
James
Yeah, no, absolutely. I was just thinking, Murillo in the last few games, I've noticed has unlocked like ah finesse free kick mode. And I know that if, you know, if there was a 40 yard one, you want him to stand up there and just put his laces through it and an absolute screamer. and But I've noticed that he started taking them, clipping them into the box. And I've not seen him take a bad one yet.
00:02:38
James
like the the guy just ah all the time unlocking new modes.
00:02:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's such a mystery how he was not used for that last season, so it's either the tactics are too conservative and too defensive last year, where they didn't want a defensive player taking an attacking free kick, or maybe it is, he's just young, he's 22, and he has been working hard on that in his game, in training or something, as he's he's worked on it, if he can improve that.
00:03:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like you say, James, unlock that mode, who knows what else, whatever, Murillo 2.0, Murillo 3.0, he's gonna unlock Marley.
00:03:09
James
Crazy.
00:03:13
Marley
Yeah, as I was going to say, he's a very young player. He's going to constantly be unlocking new parts to his game, either figuring out what he can do or just working on things, improving them and becoming good at them.
00:03:25
Marley
He's been taking these long shots from his own half, trying to get them in. Eventually,

Morillo's Future in the Team

00:03:29
Marley
one of them will go in. He'll be practicing them. He will. He'll be thinking about them. and Eventually, one will end up nesting in the back of the net. Eventually, he'll complete one of his runs and score from one of them.
00:03:37
Marley
He nearly did against Southampton. He was just absolutely knackered and got caught up with at the end.
00:03:41
James
Yeah.
00:03:41
Marley
but It's all about he's young, he's still developing, these things will come, he'll improve at them and it's scary how good he's going to be.

Transfer Strategies and Rumors

00:03:51
James
yeah
00:03:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
And yeah, I think we can comfortably say if he wouldn't sign this new contract, I don't think to leave in the summer, just a few months later, I think this means we're going to have him for all of next season as well. Even if it's not the Champions League, even if it's only the Europa or the Conference League, it's still going to be his first experience in European competition. We've spoken about the World Cup at the end of the next season in the context of Chris Wood before, but in the context of Marillo, if he's going to get into that Brisbane Brazil squad, he'll want to come into it on the back of a 50 game season for Forrest rather than a 25 game season for Real Madrid, for example.
00:04:30
James
Yeah and I think some players might be quite relieved. Obviously, they're happy and relieved that we're doing so well this season, but I mean, in the sense that for their career progression, at the minute, they don't have to go anywhere else. If they're thinking, if people like Marillo, Gibbs White, Hudson and Doy, Elanga, they're thinking, I want to play Champions League football again, or for the first time.
00:04:56
James
I'm going to have to leave Forest to do it, but I'm having such a good time at Forest. I don't really want to leave right now, but now they can do both, you know, hopefully play European football and at Forest with this core group of players ah that we've got. and But my my one big worry right now with some of the news that's been going around, or rumors that have been going around the last couple of days,
00:05:18
James
is bringing in someone who, that Cunha I'm talking about, and it's rumored that we're 60 million, bidding 60 million for him, and bringing in someone who's not going to be maybe in the first team straight away for that money, who's going to be on like megabucks compared to the rest of the squad and who's possibly shown in the last couple of months um a few of the uglier sides of his character. What do you guys think?
00:05:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it's definitely something you've summarized it pretty well. He is a very good player. um He could play any of our front four roles. He could compete with Gibbs Y.
00:06:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
He could rotate in for a Langer, or has a Husband, a Doy, and even even for Wood up front as well. So someone like that, when we did a transfer episode a couple of weeks ago, I wanted a Daniel Marlin type player, someone who can play in all the attacking positions rather than only one of them.
00:06:12
James
Yeah.
00:06:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
But no, you're completely right. and the incident with the episode security guard Stacey and the guys glasses, you could maybe put that down to playing in a bad team and the pressures of playing in a struggling side. But it is that the wages and the big fee that would um maybe cause the most problems if the wages are going to make him instantly the highest paid player in the forest squad, then will that undo some of that great team spirit that we we talked about earlier, Marley?
00:06:45
Marley
ah Yeah, I just wanted to say I personally don't believe there's any truth in the rumors, even if there is a truth in it that we're looking at him, we're expressing an interest in him. It will just be as a show of intent that we're showing interest in a player like this. I think we know, even if we did bid on him, we've got no chance of getting him over other teams that want him. And we know that there is probably a lot of downsides. It's good of a top, top quality player here. There's definitely downsides to signing him when team cohesion and everything.
00:07:13
Marley
So I think Horace the smart, Maranakis isn't stupid, he'll know that it's probably not a sign that we should be making. As much as I'll be delighted with it, I know it won't happen, and if anything I'm half delighted it won't happen.
00:07:13
James
Yeah.
00:07:25
Marley
And I'll be my crash chair in the background, making an appearance.
00:07:26
James
Yeah.
00:07:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Do you think maybe it's...
00:07:30
James
It is yeah.
00:07:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah and

Player Negotiation Tactics

00:07:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
he he He's someone i would I would definitely take back as ah as a squad option if he becomes available. But no, the Kunia rumors, do you think it's somehow part of the transfers?
00:07:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
There are almost 40 chests these days. It's some sort of part of the strategy to actually get our real target, who is Whissa. Because if we put in a low ball bid for Whissa, allegedly three days ago, then yesterday we were linked with breaking the bank for Cunha, and maybe it's some sort of tactic to get Brentford to meet in the middle, perhaps. So ah rather than offering too low for Wisser, too high for Cunha, the ambassador will be putting pressure on Wisser to hand in a transfer request to Brentford. So we end up getting to some sort of agreement for him, watching into that Marley or a bit of a crazy theory or or some elements of truth to it.
00:08:17
Marley
I think this element's the truth, but I think it's similar to that, but I don't think it's the exact same. I think, yes, we are using Kunya as a tool, but I also think Vissa as a tool as well. And I don't mean I think he's a stupid person. I mean, I think we've put in bids for Vissa and shown interest in Kunya to say to a certain team, look, we're willing to settle for an older,
00:08:46
Marley
player for a lot of money if you're not going to give us a cheap price on your youngster. That team is Villareal and that player is Tierno Barry. We have been linked with him and quite honestly 22 years old French striker from Villareal.
00:09:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, it's Spanish. Spanish is your Euros winner and is in there and put a big team as well.
00:09:10
Marley
I could see
00:09:11
James
Is this Bena? How'd you say his name?
00:09:14
Marley
venue as well yet and then you know
00:09:16
James
Bena? Bena Villareal, is that right? I saw 51 million there.
00:09:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh yeah, we're talking about different Villarreal players. Yeah, so the one, let's get up the Villarreal squad on um my screen here.
00:09:28
James
ah Bena's the Spaniard.
00:09:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, sorry, you're right. There's the French guy and Tiano Barry. So I was thinking of the Spanish guy who, you're right, James, is...
00:09:37
James
You're right.
00:09:42
Marley
um yeah
00:09:43
James
They know some lot, yeah.
00:09:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, it looks like he's not listed on the Wikipedia page.
00:09:45
Marley
ah I've seen links with both of them, I think.
00:09:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
The Spanish guy, maybe someone as a joke, has already moved him to the Forest Wikipedia team.
00:09:54
James
That's it.
00:09:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Anyway, so yeah, you're right. There's some of our scouts really at the Villareal then. um so the french Alex Binder, in the Spanish team, he's attacking the field left winger, and then the French guy, Tiana Barrie, always scored 7-14 already, so he's only been there half a season, Barrie, which might mean it might might be harder to get him if they're out of only just adding him to to their team.
00:10:05
James
That's it.
00:10:21
James
Yeah.
00:10:22
Marley
That's true, yeah, that is true. Although, there will be someone that we've got in the works and they will be younger than Visser and they'll be younger than Cunha there'll be a long-term replacement idea for Chris Wood, a backup at the minute and we'll be willing to wait till the summer but we'll want to get the best possible deal which is why we're putting these older players in the mix to say, look, we'll settle for them if you're not going to lower your price.
00:10:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
We were in an interesting crossroads because before we would sign the young and proven talent like Marillo, like Benillo, and the hope to then sell them on at a big fee just to keep us in in the division. Remember that was a strategy for Marillo at first. He'll keep us up, then we'll sell him at a small profit. But now we are struggling for Europe, should the challenging for Europe. Should the transfer strategy change? And should we treat ourselves or go out for one of these 28-year-olds who can improve the team now?
00:11:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
rather than a 22-year-old who's going to improve the team later down the line.
00:11:20
Marley
Yeah.
00:11:20
James
I just hope that whoever's putting together this strategy is playing moneyball and not funnyball because we do not want another Jesse Lingard.
00:11:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Not until Marley, you had your hand up.
00:11:33
Marley
Yeah, I just want to also point out, I believe part of it might also be we're learning our lesson. Like in the last window, we went for about three, four different strikers, all of which ended up turning us down or stalling for too long.
00:11:46
Marley
And we've had that a lot in past Windows as well. I think what we might be doing is showing interest in players we don't actually want to say, look, we've got other options, loads of other options who will be more than happy to come, which will prevent the strikers that we actually want from stalling. They'll either go, actually, let's stall. Wait, they've got those two in mind. No, I'm not coming. Or I'll stall. But then one of those two will go instead. Yeah, I'll come. Come on, let's do it.
00:12:10
Marley
so I think part of it might be to stop them messing us around and delaying. They'll see that we've got other targets, they have to make their mind up quickly or we'll just go for someone else.

Bournemouth Game Preview

00:12:19
Marley
Allows us to get the business done when it gets done so we don't leave it till the end and even miss out or panic by.
00:12:25
James
Can you imagine the ah the advert for the Nottingham Forest-like negotiator and kind of spin doctors that put all these transfer things together? It will have been in the Evening Post if that's even still a thing. I don't live in Nottingham anymore, so I don't know.
00:12:43
James
um In code so only those actually qualified would renounce to read the advert and it'll say something like must have mi6 and and p previous government clearance and experience at hostage negotiation.
00:12:59
James
I'm at the highest levels and different things because getting through the transfer window and not getting gazums by some of the bigger teams and keeping something quiet seems. Impossible you know for britsium romano must be some sort of.
00:13:11
Marley
Yeah.
00:13:15
James
Jedi knight who's got a bug in every boardroom around the world because the guy just gets everything right ah ah I've not seen especially Recently, you know everything he says is 24 hours in advance of the official announcement
00:13:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. So you're right.
00:13:31
Marley
Another one.
00:13:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
He, he can't sleep or the boring answer for Brittany Romano is 10 different agents who all log into the same accounts. When they want something to push from their client, they post as for Brittany Romano.
00:13:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, he, he's a real guy. He does occasionally do, do videos that fit your Rondo X account. Here's it. My theory is it's, it's multiple people posting, posting that.
00:13:54
James
No, I never thought of that.
00:13:59
James
Yes, maybe.
00:14:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Revelation but fabricio there only there' only ten for Fabrizio Romano possibly. possibly
00:14:06
James
Fabs for Britsio Romano is a school of catfish.
00:14:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
There as I was hoping, as they clip set up and we can get some thoughts from those of you watching out there. Are you Fabrizio Romano?
00:14:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Get in touch at GSBN.com.
00:14:20
James
Are you...
00:14:23
James
I'm Fabrizio Romano.
00:14:24
Marley
A Britcio Romano is more than one person.
00:14:25
James
super sir
00:14:28
Marley
Here we go.
00:14:31
James
It's like the Spartacus thing. Who is Fabrizio Romano? Oh my gosh, that's blowing my mind.
00:14:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Let's see, wait and see, wait and see what happens.
00:14:39
Marley
It's a good point though, it's a very good point ah because it would make a lot of sense.
00:14:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:14:44
Marley
and Another person I'd like to mention who everyone clowns on him mainly because his name is spanish for spring onion but he's he's reliable he gets a lot of stuff right reported on a lot of things got them right he reported on brennan johnson going to spurs before anyone else everyone laughed at him and then brennan johnson went to spurs so there is belief to be had even if people don't want to believe there's belief to be had in his tweets
00:14:58
James
Okay. Yeah.
00:15:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
There are other people there. A transfer that doesn't doesn't need an MI6 background to understand is Andrew Amabamadele, who is apparently on the verge of a low move to Strasbourg, which I think is is a ah good move for him.
00:15:23
James
Yeah.
00:15:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, we'd all talked him up to go to the championship, but instead to go to League Un, to the French top division, maybe ah a different standard of football, a new experience of going abroad. then we'll either come back in the summer.
00:15:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
That's it for the experience, having got more experience playing in a top five league, or, quite significantly, we've added a couple of million to his price tag for when we sell him. Happy enough with that deal, if you can think it makes sense all round.
00:15:51
James
yeah Yeah, I think the squad next season is going to need to be um big,
00:15:54
Marley
Yeah.
00:16:02
James
bigger, strong, you know, and he could really come in um as a squad player, a supporting player, him, Bali, you know, the three Ams,
00:16:16
James
rotating them at the back for some of the, maybe what you might perceive to be easier games um in the Premier League, not that there's any easy games at all. um But yeah, I think send him away, keep him fit, keep him happy because he is ah he is a good young player. So yeah, I think that's a good move.
00:16:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Definitely, yeah, it was not played at all in the Premier League this year. Of course, the pick and order is the three M's plus Bolly below them. So yeah, it makes perfect sense.
00:16:44
Marley
yeah
00:16:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, Bolly will be happy staying, playing only a handful more times, five more times in the season, blah, blah, blah, Mandela, he needs, needs, needs those games.
00:16:51
Marley
yeah yeah I find that a shame personally I find that a shame sorry James because I think last year season that when he was called upon when we picked up injuries and stuff he was really good he stepped up to the plate scored a goal on his debut he was a good defender it was what we needed at the time it was as good as we needed him to be at the time so I feel
00:16:54
James
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah.
00:17:03
James
but
00:17:12
Marley
A bit sorry for him that he's getting loaned out. We're probably going to sell him, but at the same time, we are progressing at the club. We have to have this kind of no mercy attitude towards certain players.
00:17:20
James
but We have our best gun.
00:17:24
Marley
And unfortunately, this just seems to be the first example of it.
00:17:28
James
ah I agree with you, but where did he come from? Captain of Norwich, okay? So, where would he be now if we'd not bought him? Captain of Norwich Championship.
00:17:38
Marley
Yeah.
00:17:39
James
So, you know, getting him out there, I'm sure Nuno said to him, you know, next season, if things go the way they're going, we're going to need more people, we're going to need backup, you know, and it's going to be a totally different ballgame.
00:17:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
like
00:17:55
James
So, go out, stay fit, stay sharp and and come back with some continental experience. You know might be able to come back. It's a different game out there sometimes. Come back and add something different to the dressing room.
00:18:13
Marley
yeah
00:18:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, definitely.
00:18:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think, yeah, as I said, it's certainly more beneficial than going back to Norwich, for example, if they work with team newbies.
00:18:13
James
and
00:18:16
Marley
Yeah.
00:18:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's been there, he's done that, that would be a step backwards, but Strasburg, a step sidewards, not certainly a step forwards, but a sideways step. It works works fine and it's another example of...
00:18:29
James
Stu, let's be honest, it
00:18:29
Marley
Yeah.

Player Development and Future Stars

00:18:33
Marley
And i've just, can I just say, I think I do think with another centre back, David Carmo being on loan at Olympiacos, I feel like they'll be picking up against each other in the summer in pre-season. He'll play them both in pre-season, see who he thinks has more potential, he's doing a bit better. The one who does better will stay as a bit of a backup and if we lose one of the two M's, we'll step in to take their place and the other will be sold for hopefully a profit. But then Marato, he's also only 22 people seem to be forgetting he's a very, very good centre back.
00:18:35
James
is
00:19:09
James
Are you serious?
00:19:10
Marley
is 22 years old.
00:19:11
James
He's only 22!
00:19:13
Marley
Yes.
00:19:14
James
The guy looks older than me and I'm 40!
00:19:15
Marley
yes ah Believe it or not, Babyface Robin Sosa is 25.
00:19:18
James
Oh my days!
00:19:23
James
He looks about 18!
00:19:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes, there's a revelation of today. Is February Sierra and art Romano a cover for a group of group of agents? How old are forest players really?
00:19:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
But we've got a, this is a Bournemouth preview episode and we've got 10 minutes left and we have them have a haven't them once.
00:19:41
James
Oh yeah, yeah.
00:19:42
Marley
hahaha
00:19:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, no.
00:19:44
James
but Forgot about that, we're just shooting there.
00:19:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think this is probably one of our most interesting games in a while, actually, because I think um other recent matches, because Liverpool was a a big game, we maybe weren't expecting a victory.
00:19:47
James
Yeah.
00:19:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Other games, Spurs, Southampton were easy or easier home games, but Bournemouth, it could go anyway, really. Both teams kind of coming into really, really great form.
00:20:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Marley, what's your early take on how the match might go on Saturday?
00:20:15
Marley
I think it will go how it always goes. We go into it looking like we could win. We start positively. We get a few chances and then Bournemouth do what Bournemouth always do. Beat Nottingham Forest.
00:20:26
Marley
They are our bogey team. I don't think it we'll ever beat them, ever. Full stop.
00:20:30
James
Really?
00:20:31
Marley
So I think we'll be lucky to get a draw. And can I make my prediction now or should I wait till the end?
00:20:37
James
Nope. Do it. Do it.
00:20:40
Marley
ah We've got the two M's. We've got Ina. We've got Williams. They've got Zabanyi and Dean Huishan at the back. It's going to be defensive masterglasses.
00:20:51
Marley
James, cover your ears.
00:20:54
Marley
Nothing for us that we shut out. Boom, before we shut out, it'll be a nail nail.
00:20:54
James
No!
00:20:58
James
oh Boo! Tell him, Jess. Boo! You made a dog's dinner with that one. Nill, nil! Now, Forest are going to score first. Both teams will score in the game. um And Forest are going to sneak it full one.
00:21:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Just this a total close game, close game with the but you get to get there but get the better better best of five.
00:21:23
James
Yeah.
00:21:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah I mean, I'm i'm really... um Really sure. I think, yeah, it's ah it is a tougher test than Manchester United was. for Certainly a game like that, born with a seven, they could sneak into the top four with a win.
00:21:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then, yeah, they came up after a fantastic win against Newcastle last time out. But, yeah, I think um but like we're slightly better away from home than we are at home, taking a look.
00:21:50
James
yeah yeah
00:21:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
We're both fantastic in both places, but I think i think we can get ah get a nice 2-1 win. We'll go 2-0 up, then bring him back to 2-1, then we'll bring him on by 3rd, M, that's still only 22, Marato.
00:22:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Then we'll we'll close close the game out and get a 2-1 victory.
00:22:10
James
Yeah, I'll go with that.
00:22:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, how about the teams? I think Hudson and Doi is looking likely to, I think, start on the bench. They're saying he's still touching Goh, I don't think he'll be ripped. So would you put Yates in ahead of him and then move one of Dominguez or Anderson to the wings?
00:22:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
or would you do a straight swap and put soz or jutta inwards and adoi?
00:22:31
Marley
Sosa.
00:22:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
What's your pros for you taking my lead?
00:22:32
Marley
Sosa.
00:22:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Those are.
00:22:33
Marley
Sosa without a doubt. Sosa came in against Everton. It didn't look that bad. I saw a few people say he's well off it, but I think that was more rustiness of he's not started a game since he hadn't started since Newcastle in the Cup.
00:22:47
Marley
He's not been starting. He's not going to be playing as well. So I think starting, given the game time, if he looks like he's building into it, Give him a while if he's looking off for pace, hook him off for around 45, 50 minutes, a half time or early second off, but give him the chance. I think there's a lot more to come from Ramon Sosa, more goals in the Premier League. I think there's a real gem there that we just have to unlock by giving him the minutes off a bench in a few starts.
00:23:15
James
Yeah, I'd probably agree with you. Sosa, I do like Jota going forwards, but headed back towards his own goal, always suspects, always giving away free kicks around the edge of the area. and So I'd probably go Sosa over Jota at this point. um Or Stuart explained to me how Anderson on the wing,
00:23:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, that's what we um and only if you have Yates and Dominguez in in together as the battlers in in in in the middle. I think Bournemouth's key attacking left back.
00:23:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Is that the Hungarian guy? Is it Perez? Or so sorry, I forgot how to pronounce his name on i left back.
00:23:59
Marley
Milos clercas
00:23:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
So maybe Milasz Kukas. Thanks, Marley. So then maybe if you are going to, we're going to lose her to Nadore, you move Elanga on the left to go up against there. We go right back, then we have, and it's not maybe,
00:24:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
more more lucky to Mingus actually alleviates an answer in the centre and have perhaps to Mingus is a more runner, is a more presser, is a less technical player on the on the right wing, someone who can help Aina with the defensive duty. So I mean, yeah, I think you guys have convinced me. I think your husband, the joy drops out and so is it coming in like what happened in Everton. It's probably the best, but I was just seeing why I thought it's maybe it wouldn't be a surprise knowing Bournemouth's threats if it is an extra.
00:24:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
defensive or more defensive player in that attacking attack that's included when Anderson or Dominguez are wide rather than Sosa. I think you guys have convinced me, I'm team Sosa.
00:24:48
James
There you go.
00:24:53
Marley
Here's a point I'd like to make to end on, by the way.
00:24:53
James
i and
00:24:56
Marley
So let me just put that out there. But it's a wild take. And if we get any PSG fans listening in, they will want my head on a stake. But we love Brazilian players.
00:25:08
Marley
And I believe in five years' time, say, there'll be a very solid free back for Brazil called the 3Ms. And I think that 3Ms will be our brand new 3Ms.
00:25:20
Marley
I think Marillo. will be a Brazil regular, Marato will be a Brazil regular, and new Nottingham Forest signing for 2030, Marquinhos will be a Brazil regular.
00:25:34
James
Oh dear...
00:25:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
As the shout out, the PSG Captain 50 plus Cap Brazilian guy rocking up on the banks of the River Trent. You never know. You never know.
00:25:44
Marley
If we get in a Champions League, and unlike Newcastle and Villa, solidify ourselves in the top five, six positions, Don't write it off if we get a bit of money in. If we look for more Brazilians, don't write it off.
00:25:58
James
You know what, I'm just happy that Nuno in the press conference today, and when asked you know how we convinced his players to join Forrest or what he'd say, just basically said, I shouldn't have to convince anyone. It's a good club you know with Forrest. So good things are happening. No convincing required.
00:26:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think that's important, as we saw in in the summer. um If we couldn't convince Jimenez or Inketia or Marmouche, then don don't don't join us, but that's fine.
00:26:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
As you said, if you want to play world-famous city ground, passionate fans, fantastic history, fantastic team spirit, if you don't want to be part of that, then don't.
00:26:38
Marley
it
00:26:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Again, obviously Marmouche is now, he held out and got his city move, whether that will be better for him than Forrest. We'll have to wait and see. in case you and Jimenez have flocked this season, but yeah, they had the chance and they turned down Forrest and they turned down Forrest.
00:26:49
Marley
Yeah.
00:26:53
Marley
Yeah, it shows how football's changed as well. But I heard a story today which shows that when Nuna is asked about how he encourages players to join a club, he just says he doesn't have to. But when When Brian Cloughs left with a player in his office who needs to convince to sign the contract, he has to try his shoes on, then has to try his watch on, puts the watch in his shoes, locks him in the locker and says, all right, young man, you're going to go in there, see the fat man and sign the contract, or you're going back to London with no shoes and no watch.
00:27:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Haven't heard that wonderful Marley Brian Clough impression on the podcast in in too long. So Marley, you said you had some...
00:27:29
Marley
He's currently fat. Yeah. ah Apparently that was how he um and that was how he convinced Kingsley Black to join Forrest back in the day.
00:27:38
James
Nice.
00:27:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
So you wanted to end the and the podcast Marley on a bombshell. What do you got for us this time?
00:27:46
Marley
Alright, so, Bombshell. I thought it couldn't get any bigger Bombshell than claiming that we were going to end up signing Markinos, but I believe
00:27:53
James
all answering There's too many ideas for the board.
00:28:00
Marley
that by the year 2035, not only will we have a Ballon d'Or winner on our books.
00:28:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
If someone will win the Ballon d'Or whilst playing for Forest, you mean?
00:28:22
Marley
Yes, and I know who it's going to be.
00:28:25
James
Marilla.
00:28:27
Marley
mera
00:28:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
So what's up?
00:28:33
Marley
Eric De Silva Moreira. Will it leaf get nominated for a Ballon d'Or within 10 years? Mark my words.
00:28:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
The talk is through the process, so he eventually pushes out Aina, becomes our starting right wing back. He gets a few Champions League finals, maybe win one, he wins a World Cup with Germany, and then he gets a Ballon d'Or. Is that is that your your path for Eric Dussela and Moreira?
00:28:54
Marley
In essence, yes, is only, what, 19 years old? Anna's 30s. Toffolo's 30s, Williams is about 25. Eventually, Marrero will be becoming like in the team a lot, lot more. He's already getting game time and looking absolutely solid when he plays. He looks really good, especially considering he's not experienced. He was at St. Pat's for God's sake. So honestly, my opinion on him is is he's going to be an absolute star, a gem of a signing. He's going to become one of the best right backs in the world.
00:29:31
Marley
He will play for Germany national team every game.

Podcast Conclusion and Predictions

00:29:35
Marley
If they don't win the World Cup, they'll go far in it. Forrest will carry on this route of signing young players, and eventually it will get us to the latter stages of the Champions League.
00:29:46
Marley
And Moreira, even if he doesn't win it, he will be nominated for a Ballon d'Or from right back. I think he's got that much potential.
00:29:50
James
wow
00:29:52
Marley
I might be overhyping him a bit, but I think he's got that much potential.
00:29:55
James
Wow And on that note
00:29:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Not on that note.
