The financial impact this has on the club's future will explore how these partnerships could pave the way for major investment and new revenue streams. Plus stick around as we break down what it means for Tottenham's long-term growth and ambitions both in the Premier League

and beyond. Remember you can have your say at GSPN Tottenham on all social media.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium's NFL Facilities

00:00:52
officialgspn
So just to give you a little bit of background about Spurs rollers NFL hosts, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has become the UK's home of NFL. Last Sunday's game between the Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars demonstrating how smoothly these events are hosted. I have actually done a bit presenting kind of Vox Poppy type stuff out on the street um at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a, I think it's an Arizona Cardinals game, forgive me if I'm wrong.
00:01:17
officialgspn
And um yeah, like just it was it was like a match day. It was like ah a match day for a football match or a soccer match if if you're in the US. So it's a serious, serious thing for Spurs and it's something that obviously the NFL want to do more and more of. And for Spurs to be at the forefront, it just seems like a great commercial partnership for the club. at the club the club So obviously we have a purpose-built stadium specifically designed to accommodate NFL games.
00:01:38
officialgspn
um It's been five years of this partnership and on Sunday there was 61,182 in attendance to witness a high-energy game with touchdowns galore as the Bears defeated the Jags 35-16. Now, Androposter Cogloo actually has a passion for the NFL. Yep, he's a fan.
00:01:55
officialgspn
and he attended the game with his family. He exchanged a Spurs shirt with fellow Aussie Tory Taylor, the Bears punter from Melbourne, reinforcing his pride in those Aussie athletes excelling on the global stage. And the sight of Posterkogloo at the game, excited and relaxed by turns, was obviously a bit of a refreshing contrast to the pressures of managing a Premier League side. Probably watching the other coaches on the sidelines thinking, I'm glad I'm not you for a weekend.
00:02:20

um right We're going to jump into the financial benefits for Spurs in just a few moments time. Financial Gains from Hosting NFL

00:02:46
officialgspn
Now hosting NFL games contributes significantly to Tottenham's finances. And while the revenue structure differs from Premier League matches, the club earns from stadium rental fees, massive food and drink sales and merchandising. So for comparison Spurs used to earn around £1 million pounds per game at White Hart Lane.
00:03:03
officialgspn
Whereas now they generate close to six million pounds per match day. um That's for a football or a soccer match, not for an NFL match. um There are historic beer sales as well. In 2019 Spurs made $1 million dollars in beer sales alone during the NFL game before supplies ran out, highlighting the scale of these events for the club's income. Now the club has plans for further future stadium development, including a towering hotel.
00:03:32
officialgspn
This will offer fans the opportunity to extend their experience, either staying overnight or enjoying more events like concerts, boxing, or F1 carting, which are becoming regular attractions. You've got to hope it would lead to an upswing in the fortunes of some of the local businesses as well. Because those of you who do know the area um well will know that, frankly, N17, Tottenham, 7 Sisters Road is is a very poor part of London.
00:03:59
officialgspn
And London has largely been considered to have had ah to have been gentrified, some people would say, but have a huge amount of investment over the last 10, 20, 30 years. And that is a part of London where that is still seriously lacking. ah So hopefully it would improve the fortunes of of local businesses and, of course, local residents. Not to be patronising, but kind of, you know, I mean, it would it would lead to investment in the area, which is obviously good for everybody.

Sponsorship and Brand Growth

00:04:27
officialgspn
um The stadium obviously plays a crucial role in Tottenham's long-term strategy of competing with Europe's financial powerhouses by building a strong income base outside of just football. um Now, it's also sponsorship and brand awareness exercise for the club and with the stadium featured in the Madden video game and NFL fans globally becoming familiar with Spurs, this partnership has opened doors to new sponsorship opportunities and increased brand visibility in the US market. Now, myself and Scott brought you a potential investment special a couple of weeks ago and Amanda Stavely, instrumental in Newcastle's Saudi takeover, was seen at both Spurs NFL game and the recent Premier League match.
00:05:05
officialgspn
And as we said, she's rumoured to be involved in potential Middle Eastern investment talks, with Spurs actively seeking minority investors to support future projects and, of course, that all-important squad investment.
00:05:17
officialgspn
Now, some Spurs fans are indifferent or even frustrated by the NFL presence, feeling that it detracts from their core passion, Tottenham Hotspur. However, the club's leadership sees the partnership as essential to generating revenue that will ultimately benefit the team on the pitch.

Fan Reactions and Future Aspirations

00:05:32
officialgspn
Also, who cares? It's a non-premier league match weekend, like more the merrier. It's great to get people down to Tottenham and like a lovely idea of NFL fans flying in from the US for that and from all over the world and obviously UK NFL fans. Like why not, man?
00:05:47
officialgspn
Like, just go and enjoy some sport. Like, who cares? How does it detract from Tottenham in any way I don't understand? ah So I think it's a good thing, and I hope I speak for for most Spurs fans. um The Spurs do have long-term hopes of becoming the home of a potential London-based NFL franchise, envisaging ah envisioning game games every other week, possibly back-to-back Premier League fixtures, um if the stadium's pitch technology allows quick turnarounds. that My thinking there is just immediately, if you're, I mean, obviously the players will be very rich, but if you remember the coaching staff, I guess that means you're flying transatlantic every other week. I mean, that is, that's ever such a lot of commuting, isn't it? that is That's a tiring job.
00:06:28
officialgspn
um But look, we're going to be talking some more business news when it comes to Spurs kits for the 2025-26 season.

Sneak Peek: Spurs' 2025-26 Kits

00:06:36

Okay, so finally, let's talk about something that we all get excited about, kind of, ah that I don't know, really, just sometimes. Who knows? The kits. Yep, we've only just kicked off the 2024-25 season, but word on the street is that Nike has some bold moves in store for top names 2025-26 home and away shirts. Let's break down what we know so far.
00:07:30
officialgspn
So, Tottenham's home kit for 25-26 is set to move away from the navy blue seat sleeves we've seen this season. Those navy accents gave off a bit of a retro feel, echoing back to the 2005-2006 Kappa Kits. Classic. Absolutely love that. The skin-tight Kappa Kits. Really remember Robbie Keane wearing them. Also, deeply unflattering on most football fans in the stands, myself included.
00:07:54
officialgspn
um But it is a really iconic look. For next season, it looks like Nike's pushing the boundaries a little. We'll still be keeping the classic white, the synonymous with Spurs, but the new Trist is the introduction of light iron ore and binary blue into the mix. Basically grey and blue.
00:08:11
officialgspn
um But it's essentially, yeah, I like gray tone. Nike has been using it on Let's Go Madrid's training shirts. So we've got a little preview of how it could be applied. It's through the binary blue. It won't be the deep navy we've seen before, but it's an accent color, likely for the Nike logo and club crest. Basically blue tick, blue crest, bits of gray on it, mostly white.
00:08:31
officialgspn
um We don't have the full design details yet, but it's clear that Nike are trying something new, mixing tradition with innovation. And it's always a bit of a risk, isn't it? When brands like ah experiment with the club's identity, but let's face it, Spurs kit's never that exciting, is it? So do whatever you like. There's always a new kit at the end of the season anyway. I tend to buy the training kits because they're a little bit nicer. I got the Under-19's All Black kit recently, which I was so chuffed when Scott admired on yesterday's pod. And I got the, a couple of years ago, the the black,
00:09:02
officialgspn
training kit with the kind of get-here logo and the neon tick. That is sick. um I think it's the greatest kit that Spurs ever produced. I mean, it is a training top, but still, it's a thing of beauty. Obviously, apart from kind of the 90s retro kits, which are at the absolute dons. And when it comes to the away kit, this is exciting. um On the theme that I was talking about, for the first time since the 2014, 2015 season, Spurs are gonna be having a black away kit.
00:09:28
officialgspn
Knight throwing it back to the colour we haven't seen much of in our away shirts. You can't go wrong with a black kit. It's just absolutely classic. Dangerous kind of makes you look like Darth Vader, the evil empire. So yeah, man, I'm all over it. Think of that classic Real Madrid, I think, 2017, 2003 with no sponsors. What did that have Siemens on it? I can't remember. I've got a little Zidane bobblehead on my desk, but I can't remember exactly what season his kit's from.
00:09:55
officialgspn
ah But yeah, that all-black Ramadrid Away kit, like, boom, as good as it gets. UVA have had a couple of all-black kits as well. Like, yeah, sick. Can't get enough of that. um So to be honest, yeah, I would be well up for that. Look, that's a business special. It is international break, so um we do come up with a few more weird and wonderful ideas. Remember, you can have your say. You want to talk about potential investment. You want to talk about your thoughts about, I suppose, being so heavily involved with the NFL. What about if there's an NFL franchise based out the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? Also, what do you think about the kits?
00:10:22
officialgspn
Back to black or don't care. There's still the rest of the season to go and you got to save up the astronomical prize that Spurs will want for the kit anyway. Um, do let us know at GSP and Tottenham on all social media. If you're enjoying the pod, it's amazing. If you give us a review really helps other Spurs fans find us to give us, please be kind as well.
00:10:39
officialgspn
because that really helps. Yeah, if you give us a review and subscribe helps people find us. And we're always chuffed when people do. And we like to read out reviews as well. So that can be fun. Look, thanks for listening to the Daily Tottenham podcast from the Global Sports Podcast Network. Don't forget that Scott and Harry are going to be back with you later in the week chatting to the West Ham Daily Pod about the upcoming game. Obviously Saturday lunchtime and just previewing the match in general. This is the place where we talk Tottenham every single weekday. And I will see you next time.
