Hello, Podwalkers, and welcome back to well... A bit of an update. The hosts have decided to take off the month of December. Scheduling has already been difficult throughout November and there were times when things were getting canceled last minute so we decided to just commit to taking the month off. Alex and Taya share a brief update and we will be back in the New Year!

We also finally have a Linktree with all of our discounts/resources

We also want to draw attention to this article on stigma from NAMI's site.

If you’re thinking about suicide or just need someone to talk to right now, you can get support from any of the resources below.

Podcast Break Announcement

Hello Podwalkers, and unfortunately I can't welcome you to a new episode of the Goblin Lore podcast, because this is just a quick little touch in to let everybody know, we are taking a little bit of a break. I'm Alex Newman, pronouns are he, him, found on Twitter at MalachiskorChronicleer, and
00:00:22
Speaker
Taya, do you want to introduce yourself? Yeah. Taya pronouns are she her or they them. Taya transcends on blue sky. I'm currently off of Twitter. Good habit for the time being at least.
00:00:38
Speaker
Yeah.

Reasons for the Break

And Hobbs is not able to make it tonight. And that's kind of part of what we're here about. Not Hobbs specifically, but just in general, it's a tough time of the year. I think usually coming into November, we tend to try to caution about that just as a heads up. We might be taking some time off and that turns out that's what's going to happen for us this year in December.
00:01:02
Speaker
There's just a lot going on and it's hard to make time. And sometimes even if you have the time, you don't always have the energy and then it can just be problematic from that angle, but also just from the guilt and the shame. And it's like, we do this because we love it. And that's one of the big advantages is then we can just step away if we need to. And so we've just decided this is what we need to do for December. Yeah.
00:01:33
Speaker
We preach it off and on here, you got to take care of yourself. You know, first and foremost, and self care is critically important.
00:01:47
Speaker
Yeah, absolutely. And it's one of those things that sometimes it's easier to say it than to follow that advice for yourself. But so that's a thing that we try to be really cognizant of. It's a thing that I just I love doing this with you and Hobbs because we are all very supportive of each other if we need to take time away, which we have been over the last well, years, and all the time we've been working with you

Return Plans for January

00:02:10
Speaker
as well. And it's just
00:02:12
Speaker
That's kind of what we need to do now. Our plan is to, well, to make a plan, quite frankly. We're coming back to start making new episodes to post in January. And then this gives us the month of December to do all of the December things, the family and the holidays and all of that, but also then to start trying to build a little bit of a plan so that we don't feel like every week we're just scrabbling to come up with something. Yeah.
00:02:38
Speaker
No, I hope you all enjoy your holiday seasons, whatever holiday you choose to celebrate, or if you don't choose to celebrate any holiday, enjoy your December. If you are interested in getting any games in online this month, hit me up on the Discord. I'd love to play some magic with you.

Community Engagement and Events

00:03:03
Speaker
Yeah, and that is a great call out to Taeya. Like our Discord is open for everybody. There's a couple channels for patrons and like early episodes and things, but the vast majority of basically all the conversation stuff happens in the public channels. And if you're interested in just hanging out with some goblins and maybe finding some folks for some games, it's a good place to come hang out.
00:03:28
Speaker
So my Monday morning or Monday evenings are now wide open. So yeah, if anyone wants to catch a game on a Monday evening, I would love to.
00:03:39

I do want to give one other little shout out here. I was going to mention this on an episode and we haven't recorded an episode. In the Twin Cities, if you're somebody in the Twin Cities, a friend of mine who does a lot of work in advocacy for accessibility in gaming. I know he's given talks and talked to some big companies in the video game space as well as in the tabletop space, but he is doing a charity event on Saturday, December 9th.
00:04:07

at Dreamer's Vault in Champlain from 11 to 6.

Holiday Well Wishes

00:04:13
Speaker
It's a commander event. There's a $15 entry free, but you get a raffle prize. There's a lot of raffle stuff going on and some cool looking stuff there, but it's all to support Ability Points, which I believe is a charity that works in accessibility and gaming, kind of his purview. So if you are in the Twin Cities area looking to do some magic stuff on next Saturday,
00:04:36
Speaker
Come check it out. Um, I will probably be there for so long. I don't know how long, but I'm definitely going to swing through and say hi to him. But that is what I got. Sounds good. You know, have a good, uh, good time. Y'all will see you in January.
