Introduction and Upcoming Game

00:00:01
Speaker
Welcome to the GSPN Man United Daily podcast. I'm joined by Jake today. He's ah going to be talking to me about the up and coming Leicester game on Sunday. We're all very excited. If you've not heard of me before, I'm Ollie Pittam, the Man United podcaster. And yeah, we're going to be seeing what's going to come over the weekend. It's going to be a very busy time for United.

Managerial Changes and Excitement

00:00:21
Speaker
It's very exciting times, as we all know at the moment, change of management. We've still got our interim manager at the moment, Mr. Ruvan Nistroy.
00:00:29
Speaker
So yeah, Mr. Jay Levelyn, how are you feeling, buddy? Hello. Yeah, yeah, I'm ah i'm excited to hear you know about United and obviously you're right.

Team Performance and Organization Issues

00:00:37
Speaker
It's very exciting for you guys, big change. and Obviously, we we played each other recently in the Cup, which didn't go too well for us on on the back of Vanisteron coming in and and we got pumped a bit, but ah yeah I'm hoping the game might be different on Sunday because if it goes that way, it's going to be another difficult watch.
00:00:56
Speaker
Yeah, so it it seemed like we played really well. If you just look to the score line, obviously it was 5-2, wasn't it? um But yeah, you'd think, oh, we were absolutely amazing for throughout. But there was a lot of gaps there still. There's still a lot of question marks. ah We were scoring, but we still didn't look great. We really didn't. And after the Chelsea game on Sunday, that that showed there was just like a lack of creativity, a lack of organization. There's still so much work to be done, honestly.
00:01:24
Speaker
It felt like we were free running, but we really weren't. And there's just so much work to be done.

Amoram's Transition and Challenges

00:01:29
Speaker
This Amoram guy, I'm actually worried for him. I really am. He's having such a good time. at sporting him I just feel like, oh my God, what has he walked into? What has he stepped into this guy? He just feels like he's loved. He's like a God over in Portugal. but could this Could this be the breaking of him? I hope hope not. I'm hoping he's going to do amazing for us. I really do. He seems like a good dude. and But just time will tell. What do you think about him? Have you heard anything about him at all?
00:01:55
Speaker
Yeah, um ah obviously in the summer hes I think he was linked to the Liverpool job for yeah a short while. where He's been linked to jobs here and there and he's very highly talked about. It's been interesting since he got the Manchester United job reading ah more about him and more of his

Amoram's Coaching Journey and Impact

00:02:11
Speaker
background. He's really interesting in terms of ah retiring quite young and then going into coaching and and sort of being ah an assistant manager, labelled because he couldn't get the badges and and he ended up ah doing ah one of his badges quite late yeah he's a really interesting story obviously clearly a young manager with fresh ideas sporting obviously got a great win over Manchester City in the week so everyone's buzzing and talking about that because i think we're all sick of watching man city win the league every year Exactly. So even for, you know, less fun, that may certainly not going to be anywhere near the top of the table for a very, very long time. Even I'm excited because it hopefully is going to be something different, to be honest, because it's sort of been the same teams at the top ah with the same manager, same players.
00:03:00
Speaker
It could be a big shake up. You're right, though, he's walking into a big, big job. ah And I feel like we've sort of been here before with we've United, but maybe not this type of guy who's a young coach ah and personality. I think that might be the difference. So from an outside perspective, I'm really intrigued because he seems similar, but different. And the differences might be the difference that the Manchester United need.
00:03:27
Speaker
Yeah, that's it. and Is he going to, I want to say he's going to go for this 3-5-2. We're asking questions, have we got the personnel? Have we got the staff to actually accommodate that formation?

Squad Depth and Formation Challenges

00:03:38
Speaker
Because obviously we're very thin on the left side, especially, no Luke Shaw, no Molassia for a very long period of time. so I don't know what formation he's going to go for this guy. Obviously, it's a completely different league. um No disrespect to the Portuguese league, but it is a massive step up. And like the players that he does have, they're at the top of the game in that league. so And our players are obviously underperforming. You can't deny that at all. A lot of the players you look at, no one's really having a good season at the moment. You probably look at Anana.
00:04:09
Speaker
he probably looks like one of our best players so far, which is worrying when your goalkeeper is your best player. Yeah. that port So many times with David De Gea, where he's been player of the season and it's your goalkeeper should not be player of the season. He shouldn't be working as hard as he is. um So this guy's got to come in now. We've got to make some superstars out of nobody's basically. um The one good thing is, there's a lot of Brazilian speakers in there, Brazilian Portuguese speakers in the team. So hopefully that's going to help us out a little bit.
00:04:36
Speaker
I know that English speaking as well, but I don't know. Hopefully that's going to have to know some could most of our players, our superstars are Portuguese speaking like Bruno is probably one of our best players. So hopefully there's going to be that connection there. I'm hoping where he's just going to be able to get the best out of him because Bruno's got well, he's regressed each season. I'd say he was amazing start the season. We've had bit parts here, there and everywhere. um So hopefully this guy can come in and just get the best out of him because we know he's world class. We know he can be amazing.
00:05:06
Speaker
and hopefully that's going to be for the rest of our squad as well. Dallos look poor this season, had a great season last season, amazing right back. I know he's been shifted onto

Midfield Structure and Improvement Needs

00:05:15
Speaker
the left just to help out, but he's been poor and he's really, I don't know, he's really let us down this season. So I'm hopefully, this guy's going to come in and just get the best out of him. I'm hoping anyway, I'm fingers crossed. I'm intrigued to see your midfield under him because it's been talked about for a long time that, ah you know, not just,
00:05:35
Speaker
individual players like Casimir but the shape and the the structure of the midfield between the back two centre backs and the gap between that and the midfield has been massive. and I'm not expecting that to stay the same. It'd be quite radical if you he kept it as it is because he's been bowled and hasnt clearly hasn't worked by the result.
00:05:57
Speaker
so i've ah people who've talked about this free at the back free for free free five two and and i'm i'm almost sick of hearing about it a little bit because he has he got the players at mancheshi right now to do it um not go but also does that mean he he will I think a good manager isn't set by a formation, it's more about an idea, it's about culture, it's about lots and lots of other things. So I'd be surprised if he went straight in and played that just because I actually think he probably understands the squad that he's going to inherit surely withve with time to learn about them.

Smooth Transition Hopes with Amoram

00:06:34
Speaker
the Well, I don't think on paper United have the team right now to play that. um yeah Maybe he'll prove me wrong. He knows far more than any of us. So he might come straight in and it might make an instant impact and and we'll all be shocked. But personally, I'm i'm not expecting that. ah He might make an instant impact.
00:06:54
Speaker
building things slowly, but yeah not with a three, four, three straight away. No, not at all. I don't think there's going to be radical changes. Like we said, playing three at back, front fight the bat, whatever it is, wing backs. I don't think he's going to make radical changes straight away. I'm hoping Ru's going to stay for a little bit. just ah I don't know, sort of ease him in. I know he wants to bring his own team in. It'd be great just to have Rude there just to say, right, this happens. This guy can do this. And it's just good good to have that bit of insider knowledge, really, a nice little transition rather than just get rid of Rude straight away. But, yeah, I can't see massive, massive changes because, like you said, the personnel is not there to play how he does in Portugal. so
00:07:35
Speaker
Hopefully we're going to give this guy time. Lee, I think you made a comment before. He said, if I beat Man City, I'm going to be the next Alex Ferguson, which is right. We'll get excited. We really do. If he's going to come in, if he wins 3-0 in his first game, we're all going to get overexcited, but we need to be patient with this guy, man. He's done really well in the Portuguese league, but this is, like I say, a completely different league. and He's working with a different set of ah players with different mentalities. So fingers crossed it's all going to work out well. But guys, we're going to go to a quick commercial break now. We'll join us back in just a moment. Every club.

Every club. Every day. The Global Sports Podcast Network. Welcome back to the Global Sports Podcast Network with me, Ollie Pitton for the Man United Daily Podcast. And I'm joined by Jake Leverhead from the Leicester City Podcast. So we're going to delve a bit more into Leicester, how they're doing this season.

Leicester's Resilience and Performance

00:09:05
Speaker
So how do you feel things are going at the moment? You're not too far away from us. I think you're a couple of points below. We're sitting on a pretty rocky ground at the moment, but you guys aren't too far off, so I can't really gloat much. So how are you feeling? How do you feel things are going to go?
00:09:26
Speaker
Yeah, you know, it turns out it hasn't quite worked out like that for either of us. But to be honest, I've had a few people, you know, telling me that but we're struggling and in some aspects we are. But our points telly probably is higher than some of our performances. In truth, we've nicked late goals at Southampton to win. Yeah. Obviously, the weekend against Ipswich to draw. and We've been brilliant this season at coming back. We've been behind in
00:10:04
Speaker
If off the top I'm at eight of the 10 games, seven of the 10 games, like we we go behind in every game, basically. If it was like we have poor first-halves, it's sort of a regular occurrence. So and we're often rescuing ourselves or obviously there's a bit quite a bit of controversy for anyone who's seen the highlights or watched Ipswich last together the weekend with I think they probably should have had a penalty just before Kevin Phillips gets sent off. Then obviously those two actions happen and then we end up coming back and getting a point. And and at the end of the season, it's it's those sort of points and what's probably going to add up that might send it down, might keep us up, you know, in situations like that that ah unfortunately really decide things. So on this day, we've got the benefit of it. And to be honest, most of the season we've had the benefits so far, and a bit of the rub of the green.
00:10:54
Speaker
from the refs or just in games, but also there is a determination and a spirit about the team, which we most certainly didn't have when we got relegated two years ago. So that that's my big thing that I'm holding on to. The players ah clearly ah not just playing for Cooper, but playing for the same goal, which is stay in the league and battle and fight in every game. And we've been in every single game and I can't really ask for more than that as a promoted side, to be honest. Then we've given every game a good chance. We've scored every game um and we haven't been battered by anyone yet.
00:11:26
Speaker
Yeah, that's it. That's exactly what it is. Like you say, just the players just being behind the manager. It's just so important, isn't it? Because you know, the talent's there. you've You've got a good squad. You've got a decent squad. We've got good players as well. But I just don't feel, I just didn't feel like for us, I know we're going back to United now, sorry about that, but I just don't feel like their players were behind the manager at all. It kind of felt like, oh, we'll just go out there, see what happens. But you guys, it feels like you are actually like really behind him as well, which is amazing to see. And and that's all you can ask for as well.
00:11:55
Speaker
That's all you can ask for. Hopefully get a result out the end of it, like you are newly promoted. um I think at the moment for you guys, ah it's about staying up, isn't it? It's about staying up at the moment. It's so tight at the bottom. It really is. We were in the bottom half of the table. I never foreseen this at all. I really didn't. I thought we could move on there. I thought, yeah, top four minimum. That's what I kept telling us, like top four minimum. But Jesus, just just being top half of the table would be nice at the moment.
00:12:23
Speaker
just like we're just getting the stick. But yeah, it's it's been a tough whole start to the season. ah So who's been your standout player at the moment? Who'd you say that is going to get you up to where you need to be, to be safe? ah Well, it's funny, obviously, we're talking about Anana, you know, and he's been your standout player. Well, Matt Hermanson, our goalkeeper, has most certainly been ours. He's been, yeah I think he's made the most saves in the league. He's been brilliant, absolutely brilliant then, in pretty much every game or even against Nottingham Forest, where he let one in that I think he could have done a bit better. He he actually followed that up with a great save not long after. um yeah yeah So he's been fantastic. and In terms of outfield and and maybe looking further up the pitch, ah Jamie Vardy is still scoring goals for us, he's still a threat.
00:13:07
Speaker
just incredible yeah He defies absolutely everything. He defies logically, he defies every time I write him off or any of us almost think, oh, maybe yeah he's done. He just keeps coming back. We wouldn't have got promoted last year without him. He scored some massive goals. and He's already scored four goals this season and and we're only just in November. So and he's going to be 38 in January. So that's just crazy. It's crazy. yeah meanss ha Just doesn't happen really.
00:13:33
Speaker
No, he is a phenomenon, isn't he? Just to hone in more on Jamie Vardy.

Jamie Vardy's Premier League Longevity

00:13:39
Speaker
When I watch him, I'm like, he's just he doesn't look like he's slowed down either. That's it. Your little spaces that he finds, how he creeps him around the back. He looks like someone who's 28. He looks like a 28-year-old player at his pace, and he's just his touch.
00:13:52
Speaker
Honestly, it feels like he hasn't lost anything at all over the last 10 years, just incredible player. So much longevity as well. And he's doing it in the Premier League. That's the thing. We've got Ronaldo out there, 39 years of age, whatever it is. He's out in Saudi Arabia, do you know what I mean?
00:14:08
Speaker
he's doing it in the Premier League and still looking. He's up there with like some of the best. He really is. I know you guys are struggling at the moment, but what a player, honestly. He just doesn't get his dues. I know everyone says he's good, but he is incredible. yeah What an athlete. Absolutely amazing.
00:14:22
Speaker
yeah who say like sorry no No, I was just going to say that you're absolutely right. is People think because of the red ball and and the omit for his pre-match that he's not an athlete, but you don't get to that age without looking after yourself in some way, shape or form. At the end of the day, i'm not I'm not for how he gets himself ready because when he gets on the pitch, he's ready to go and he's always ready. And and I've never, ever seen him play at anything less than him giving his 100%. Even when I'm looking at him, like physically going, you must be at 60 or 70 in terms of injuries or problems. He gives everything, every game. Yeah, absolutely incredible.
00:15:01
Speaker
yeah He's non-stop, isn't he? I don't know how he's not there passed out from like the Red Bulls before a game. They give me the jitters, just half a can of one of those and I'm all over the place. so I don't know how he's stepping onto a football pitch after a full can of one of those, but absolutely crazy. It's very commendable, it really is. so Guys, we're going to go for another little break. We're about to catch us and we're going to talk more about the game that's coming up on Sunday.

Every club. Every day. The Global Sports Podcast Network. Welcome back to the Global Sports Podcast Network. Myself, Ollie Pittam from the Man United Daily Podcast and I'm joined by Jake Leverhead from the Leicester City Daily Podcast. So we've got the game coming up on Sunday, 2pm kickoff. I'm a bit annoyed. It's free games, free 2pm kickoffs on Sunday. I don't know what they're playing at at the moment. Why can't they just spread them out? I want a nice early one and I want to i want a Super Sunday. It's not a Super Sunday if it doesn't start at 12 or 12.30. How do you feel about that? Is it in all you?
00:16:35
Speaker
ah You know what, because we were in the championship last year, ah probably not as much as some of some fans from bigger clubs. That's the truth is how I feel about it. I think some, yeah generally I think fans from from sides who have been in the Premier League for forever, top big six, seven, eight sides, and it probably bothers them more because your clubs are always on the TV.
00:16:58
Speaker
which I get, and I watch them as well. like i i I always watch you know all the Sunday games. so um yeah yeah If the game was on at 12, Manchester United vs Bournemouth, anyone, I'd still watch it. so yeah yeah For sure, I wish that there was more on TV because I would watch it. ah yeah yeah I don't even think the game's on Sky at the weekend. so ah yeah It's one of those 2pm ones that isn't actually televised, which is always a bit hard. It's crazy.
00:17:23
Speaker
Absolutely crazy, like struggling to find games, but I thought they would have structured it throughout the day. It's nice to, it's nice every couple of hours you get a game that goes through. I don't know what the reason is behind it. I just find it crazy. I really do. Because that's, it's a Super Sunday. That's what we want. We want to structure throughout the day, the last game.
00:17:39
Speaker
should finish just before half past six. But who am I? Who am I? I can't change anything. I don't have those powers. But anyway, we'll get into the game on Sunday. So we are playing at 2pm, as I've said, about a million times. So how are you feeling? Are you feeling confident? Do you reckon it's going to be a bit of redemption after the five to defeat you suffered before in the cup how you feeling confident no no i wish i could i wish you could sit here in line see yes uh no no i'm uh i don't think you'll be as bad as the cup game which uh yeah i was watching and and once
00:18:14
Speaker
but't sort of the second goal and then I went with almost folded a bit at the back. but yeah i did it it was ah For us, it was a majorly changed team. I think we only had two players from that that I would expect to start ah on Sunday. If I'm honest, obviously you never quite know with injuries and things, but yeah, I think itll be for us a majorly changed team, that was a real rotation side. that that certainly haven't played their way into the team ah based on the Ipswich game or based on that cup match. So, yeah, it could be a long afternoon, but we went to Arsenal and we were a couple of minutes from getting a point there. and We got a point against Tottenham. So we actually we we can be quite stubborn, quite difficult. We rely on our goalkeeper to make a lot of saves mind within that. yeah I'm hoping we'll we' make it a difficult afternoon for you. I'm just worried possibly some of that momentum
00:19:05
Speaker
sweeping through. um Obviously, you've got a a European game. we record it yeah hi Yeah, that's that's some of my thinking is obviously after a European game, I know it from from seeing less than played in Europe and and then afterwards, it it does make a big effect. So I'm hoping that might be the difference.

European Competition Struggles

00:19:23
Speaker
Yeah, I've yeah, like we're playing in the next hour or so is It's going to be a tricky game. um every Every European game for us is always tricky. and We've just looked so poor when we played in Europe. We really have just the lack of belief. We're getting early goal and it was to sit on it for for like 20 minutes, let the team attack. It's just been poor and it's draining legs as well. And then we're going into games on Sundays. It isn't by well, we could have done with not being in Europe. I said last season, we could do with not being in Europe at all. just Just domestic games, it would have helped us massively. We haven't got the squad depth.
00:19:57
Speaker
at all to be playing in Europe and and it's shown. We're playing against no disrespect to them but lacklust of teams. I'm never heard of them but I can see a struggling against them before we even started. That's how bad it is. It's it's not good. we do not We did not need Europe this season. We really didn't.
00:20:16
Speaker
So I think we're going to have some tired legs. We're going to want to win this game. Rude's going to want to win it. 100%. So we're not going to be putting out a weekend team. So when we face you guys on Sunday, 2 p.m. kickoff, it's yeah there's going to be some tired legs out there. So I think you guys have got an opportunity to actually take advantage. and get three points and it is, like you say, it's it's not a cup game. this is This is business time. This is the league. um I can see you guys snatching snatching a result. I really could. um Well, that's all I'm hoping for, is is a snatch result.
00:20:48
Speaker
it's a I use the term free hit, but it's it's not because you need points for us, you know, every game we need to try and get points from. ah So like again, someone who's played in Europe, who's ah not been in great form, you're absolutely right. Rudran, this is going to want to win. He's going to want to end on a high, completely get his passion against Chelsea when when the penalty went in. So ah he's going to be really up for it. I'm but I'm hoping possibly the team ends up being a bit lackluster and we can take advantage of that because we've we've got a whole week to prepare.
00:21:20
Speaker
And generally, we've been fortunate in that we look like we prepare quite well. um Unfortunately, sometimes we come out in first half and don't quite get going ourselves. I'm hoping that the the idea actually will be, well, these are just played in Europe, so let's have a go. Let's try. If we can score the first goal, which would should make a real change for us, then it'll make the game interesting. Steve Cooper might have completely different ideas and he wouldn't surprise me if he did.
00:21:50
Speaker
Yeah, that's it. Just on the day, isn't it, I guess. But yeah, so it's going to be tricky for us. It's going to be a really tricky game. Hopefully, we can get a win. We are at home. We should be winning, but that's been the place where we've stumbled quite so often. At home, it just seems to be a lot more pressure when we've got our home fans just breathing on the

Pressure from Home Fans

00:22:09
Speaker
players' necks. They've not dealt well with the pressure at all.
00:22:12
Speaker
But I'm hoping we're going to go out there, try and go for the win, be positive. I'm going to talk formations now. I'm going to go for, kind of tell you about my formation. I think we're going to go for, so it's probably going to be a 4-2-3-1. I'm hoping, I'm hoping Dallow at right, at left, sorry, Maserawi at right, Delict playing alongside Martinez. And this is where it is, I think the 4-2, the two holding the fielders.
00:22:41
Speaker
um that's that's where it all gets a bit tricky. That's where I kind of think, right, what are we going to do here? Is is this working to just holding at the back? Because that's why ah you see a lot of times why even in the England squad, it seems like two holding midfielders. Does it actually work? How do you feel about it? How do you feel about those two holding midfielders?
00:22:59
Speaker
Yeah, I think it depends on on who you are and what the game plan is like. yeah For example, we play two holding midfielders, we have pretty much a season and and they're quite deep and they're quite defensive. And actually when we've allowed them to roam a bit more, press higher, we've had more success. And maybe as a fan, you enjoy watching that more because it's a bit more exciting, especially if you can win the ball higher up, quick turn.

Effectiveness of Midfield Strategy

00:23:22
Speaker
talking about ya England in in the summer, it feels like we talk about England every summer. I know they play in the tournament. Two old image fielders that don't move and it it gets straight in. Does it work? I don't know. that the the The defensive in me that that wants to see Balancer, wants to see a team win 1-0, which and I know is awfully defensive. I don't mind that. I don't mind a win 1-0, but if you're in Manchester United's position and and you can see it in goals and the midfield is wide open at points, well yeah clearly that's clearly that's not working and and I think if you're going to have two holding midfielders you've got to have one who's really creative and you've got to have a lot of legs there because they're trying to cover a lot of space um and I sort of look at my knees in the midfield and I'm like
00:24:13
Speaker
I'm not so sure. That creative spark has been a question I feel like for eternity. in terms Yeah, it's just not there. Yeah, Fred, Tom and I, like all these guys that you've tried and it's like, yeah but who's the creative one? And it's even now, obviously, Ugarte's come in, but I don't look at him and in that either. I don't think he solves that issue. He solves a different issue. So, ah yeah, so it's a good question. i oh teams clearly can be successful whilst points have played too but even then I think Arsenal look better when they sort of play like apartheid and allow Rice to to free roam a bit more. Yeah like free roam go forward a little bit. Yeah so I guess maybe answer that is no I guess if you especially if you're really trying to push and win a game you need to allow that extra guy to go forward to to bring numbers ah in the box really to the tie.

It kind of feels like negative. It's just negative football, I think. Especially when you've got the personnel to go forward as well and actually go out there and get a goal, like you said. So, yeah, it's always been a stumbling block for me, really. But yeah, I'm hoping Gannacheo is going to have a good game on the left. Hopefully he's starting. I can see Rashford starting on the right because obviously he's been poor, but he's been getting games. He started every time. I'm getting annoyed that Ahmad isn't getting the minutes. That's really hurting me because I feel like he really should play a lot more. I really like that, man.
00:25:33
Speaker
Yeah, he's just a good player. He's a really good, like technically good player, but he just needs minutes and he's not getting them. It's been frustrating. It really has. I'm hoping this number one guy's going to come in and just give him some time, give him some games.
00:25:46
Speaker
My thoughts on Amad's, he's brilliant at Sunderland and that was the year before Leicester in the Championship. I love the Championship. I hated the year we were in it because it's a slog but I love watching it because of the unpredictability. do You see these young players and he was brilliant. ah Amazing, wasn't he? I just wonder with him.
00:26:05
Speaker
confidence, does he does he really believe he should be playing for, you know, Magician I did? And that's my feeling from the outside. It's like, does he believe because he should? Because I tell you what, if it he if he believed that had had that confidence, like obviously scored the win against Liverpool in the Cup. And but he whenever I've watched him for many, he doesn't play the same as when I saw him at Sunderland. And I know there's a complete step up in quality. completely get that. I'm watching that at the moment from coming from the championship but that means about confidence taking your moment, taking your chance and like I just worry he's going to end up moving somewhere. I've got that feeling as well, I've got that feeling. Yeah and all the United fans, why was he like that for us and I think that it's like it's a confidence thing, it's ah maybe a culture thing because he wouldn't be the first player United have had who's gone on to be good somewhere else.
00:26:53
Speaker
Yeah, small fish in a big pond sort of mentality, isn't it? Like he was the man. son le yeah yeah he' a man But now it's kind of like, yeah, he's he's ah he's surrounded by big names and it is, it's a completely different pressure, isn't it? Being at Manchester United. sure But we're going to go on to what team do you think you're going to put out there for Leicester on Sunday? What team's going to go out? Yeah I think ours is is very predictable if you look at most of our recent lineups in in terms of Hermanson in goal. We've had a couple of changes in the last couple of games. James Justin had played every game at right back but ah I think for fans who hadn't watched Leicester probably thought he was playing quite well but Actually, the reality is he's been really poor. Almost every goal, it feels like, has come down his side. ah and when When there's a compilation in the season of the goals we can see, you're just going to see down our right side over and over and over again. So ah he was dropped against Zips, which I'll be honest, I was quite pleased about because I think he needed, again, to mix it up. So Christiansen at left back, Riccardo Pereira or Justin at right back, he might bring Justin back in. And then we have Wout Faz.
00:27:57
Speaker
and Caleb Boccoli at centre back and Boccoli's come in from Atalanta and generally has been quite good over the cup match against yourselves, he was shocking, he gave an awe, he was the one that gave the awful back pass for Bruno. I mean, that was terrific. Yeah, it was a weird battle, it was hard wasn't it, really, it didn't judge it at all.
00:28:17
Speaker
Yeah. and And we generally we haven't really seen that, but yeah, he's probably been a bit off maybe in Southampton and he wasn't ah amazing against Ipswich. So which show I'm a bit concerned about his form. But yeah, so that's our back from goalkeeper and DD still about in midfield still. He's been brilliant this season. ah quality yeah Yeah. Yeah. A player that if he was a bit more technical and he had the bit more a bit more technical ability for sure would have moved on years and years ago. He seemed to get linked with Matt and United every single summer. Yeah, he really wanted him, yeah.
00:28:54
Speaker
I think technically probably he just never quite got there and I thought he suffered with injury so he's not quite what he was but he's still brilliant for us and makes a real difference. Probably Harry Winx next to him um unless he brings all his skit back in but I would have thought Harry Winx has earned his spot again. um And then it's a bit of a difficult one because we're going to all traffic. I wonder if he might. This is where he brings the Jordan. Are you back in? He maybe but I've just mentioned only skip that comes in a few different options. He's played for tower. We were off the right. He's a really exciting young player. Mavadidi off the left who hasn't been great in the last couple of games, but can make can make a good impact. But yeah, Jamie Vardy and for Conde Buena not his own from Brighton for sure to be in the team. Buena not a spin are like shining light um in terms of
00:29:42

on pitch other than our goalkeeper, Bueninato is a great player who I'm just hoping Brighton don't record January because I genuinely think. I'm really surprised. They're having a group there every the great season. They're a really good team, but I'm really, really surprised he can't make a big impact for them because I think he's that good. um And I guess maybe they're thinking he's going to play every game for us, which we are very happy about because he's brilliant and and he he's played an impact in every game pretty much he's played so far this season for us.
00:30:10
Speaker
Yeah, that's a good little lineup. Hopefully it's going to, uh, it's not going to work against us too much. So I'll finish off our team as well. So Kazemiro Ugar, I can see them playing the two, uh, also Bruno and I can see Hoyland. Hopefully Hoyland is going to start. Xerxes getting a lot of stick, um, checking social media at the moment. There's a lot of memes about this guy at the moment. is quite slow. He's looking slower than erosion at the moment. I think there's a ball pass through to him and he just looks.
00:30:37
Speaker
really It's like he had lead boots on, honestly. I've never seen him one move so slow. I feel a bit bad for the guy. He should be fit by now. He's been at United for like two and a half months. His fitness should be up to standard by now, but this guy's looking like a dud. He really is. So I'm hoping Hoyland's going to start for us. so ah He's going to be up front because he just looks fitter and stronger and quicker. He's just a much more superior player. So we're goingnna go for um what result we're going to what result you all achieve. What are you thinking? What are you going to go for?
00:31:06
Speaker
and I mean, in terms of what I want to achieve, you know, with tired legs, maybe we end up stealing the game and and and nicking a goal. But realistically, I want to achieve a point and and get some for the game. I'd be really happy with that. ah yeah Because if we'd played, I was so frustrated when I saw Ted Hogg got sacked when he did, because I was like, I just knew he'd end up getting sacked just before we played you. And it was like, I thought we'd at least have the cup match against him. And I've been more confident of of causing real problems. I still think we will cause a problem with scoring in every game, so I've got no reason to think we won't score again. and Unfortunately though at the back we've looked really leaky, so so my hope is, i'm and I'm going to go for like a 1-1 draw, um my only concern with that is because at the back we're really struggling
00:31:54
Speaker
I just can't see how we're going to keep it to one. ah But, yeah, for sure, I think we will score, to be honest, just because, as I say, we're scoring every game um and we are yeah going forward. It's just that that that back four is really struggling for us. We lead chances like against any any team we p play. um so Again, I can't see us keeping a clean sheet. I'm expecting both teams to score. I say that every week. Yeah. I feel the same of us that we're leaky as well. I can see you guys getting a goal. I can see it being one. I can see it being one all. i'm Hopefully it's going to be a two-one. We're going to sneak like a late winner, but I think it's going to be a one-all draw. It's going to be really tight. ah You guys are going to be up for this. We're going to have some tired legs. So yeah, I'm going to go for one all on this one. So, Jake, it's been an absolute pleasure speaking to you for the first time, buddy. Hopefully, hear from you again very, very soon. Good luck on Sunday. Hopefully, we're going to win, but good luck and hope you play well. And it's been a pleasure. You've been listening GSPN Daily Podcast. We've had the Man United boys and also the Leicester boys as well. Take care and see you soon. Every club.
