Speaker

00:00:17
Speaker

Fear of AI in Business: A Boon or Bane?

00:00:31
Speaker
There's a lot of fear mongering around AI right now in the business world, not just for entrepreneurs, but for anybody in an office setting in corporate America.
00:00:42
Speaker
And today we want to talk about how this industry is built around anti-AI. We're going to talk about how you can utilize it for your business make your life easier, but also recognize and understand that you are the key component to your beauty business that will never be replaced by AI.
00:01:04
Speaker
And I think when we say anti-AI, we don't mean we're anti-AI. AI is going to tremendously help you build your business. Like it's really going to help you build your business. 100%, yeah. But like Renee just said, you're never going to be replaced by AI.
00:01:19
Speaker
Like you can only use it to enhance your business. And so when you think about other technological advances in the past, like one thing I always think about is remember the switchboard operators, like you would have to make a phone call and people would have to actually connect your line to the line of the person that you recall that you were um you were calling.
00:01:38
Speaker
So, you know depending on your age, like I don't even know if these are much in movies anymore. Right. that's where Until you said it, I totally forgot about that. But you're right. That's a wild. My mom actually did that. Yeah.
00:01:49
Speaker
Like they're, I mean, there's videos, you guys look at videos, like they would wear roller skates around so they could go faster to operate the switchboards like within the, within their office. Right. But those people were put out of business there, there used to be typists. So there would be, they would literally type on a typewriter and then the computer comes around and you can type a lot more effectively on a typewriter and you can produce more, um, you can produce more content, I guess, of, uh,
00:02:15
Speaker
Yeah, that you're typing out. But those people were put out of business. Those people had the jobs and the technology advanced and you could dial a number on your phone and it could connect to another phone.

Technological Evolution in Industries

00:02:28
Speaker
Yeah, it's all about innovation and efficiency. Remember Blockbuster? Yeah. We used to go and I remember every Friday night, my dad would take me to Blockbuster and I get to pick up movies and then bring them back. And then the Netflix came out. So it evolved a little bit and we thought it was so cool. Like, yeah wow, now they'll eat they'll mail us DVDs and we get to watch them and mail them back and they send us another one.
00:02:49
Speaker
My kids don't even know what a commercial is now because of streaming. My kids love commercials. Yeah, they think it's especially if there's toy commercials. I'm like, what is this? But cutting that back and now that's the where we live it.
00:03:02
Speaker
And to us like who have been through it, we have to reflect to see the transition. So there's a lot of transitioning happening right now along with AI. Can you think of any technology that's happened in beauty that actually affected beauty?
00:03:18
Speaker
I mean, things are always evolving technique wise. That's why we stress mastery in the course and the importance of keeping up with like the latest and greatest technology. If you plan to be somebody who's noted as a reliable artist, no matter what type of beauty professional you are.
00:03:35
Speaker
However, I have seen things that have always tried to replace the artist.

The Indispensable Human Touch in Beauty

00:03:40
Speaker
Especially recently, i saw some crazy thing on Instagram where it was like a robot that did lash extensions.
00:03:47
Speaker
Basically, you lay back into this chair and this... This contraption measures your face and then these little tweezers start working. I personally would never sign up for that. no Will Smith ruined this for me and iRobot.
00:04:02
Speaker
Okay. I'm like, that is my eyeball. Okay. You're not going to have the reaction time. What if you sneeze? What if, I don't know. I'm sure they built in safety features, but for me, That's not what I want to do.
00:04:14
Speaker
Plus, half the reason people come to us as artists is because they enjoy our company, our presence. We are uncertified counselors half the time. They want that in-person interaction. They want to be able to tell you.
00:04:27
Speaker
If, you know, maybe the lash glue is burning or they want a different look than they did last time. And there's just so much to customize in your appointments that a robot can't do that. A robot's never going to be a part of the community. What we also talk about in the in the course, like the robot's not going to be a part of the community. Robot's not going to be able to give you referrals to, you know, restaurants where you know the chef or you know the owner and you trust the place.
00:04:53
Speaker
Right. Yeah. And it's really important that to kind of calm your anxiety around this topic because this is exciting this is this realization that we had and just talking amongst ourselves the other day about you know the beauty industry it's never going to go away yeah it is always a growing industry women will be broke before they be ugly okay so they doesn't matter if money's tight they're gonna sell something on facebook marketplace they come get their brows done or their lashes done or their hair done or whatever like
00:05:26
Speaker
the ends They'll go to the ends of the earth to you know make sure that they can be in your chair. And that's really exciting as a beauty professional. But something we also discussed is there's so much innovation in the beauty industry also that you were talking about honing in on like one one thing and why that's important.
00:05:44
Speaker
Yeah. And before we get to that, I really, you know, with the fear, like what we started with the fear around AI, you have to think where this is coming from. Guys, this is coming from accountants. This is coming from lawyers.
00:05:55
Speaker
This is coming

Overcoming Fear and Evolving Skills

00:05:56
Speaker
from doctors, computer programmers. This is coming from people that know that they can be replaced by AI. Like if you can be replaced by a computer, if you can be be replaced by a an AI run machine,
00:06:09
Speaker
you're going to be replaced. And so when everybody's talking about this, these are the ah these are the typists, these are the switchboard operators that were worried about when they were going to lose their job. And it's going to happen. They're going to be replaced. And when something like this happens, I mean, ah sometimes i I feel almost callous saying it, but you have to advance your skill set.
00:06:28
Speaker
Like you have to you learn how to use technology or you're going to be replaced by technology. like All of those people, like a computer programmer with a company right now has a position at that company. They just might have to increase their skill set.
00:06:40
Speaker
They're not going to be able to do the same thing because very few people in the professional world are able to do the exact same thing day in and day out. And have their job with the company.
00:06:52
Speaker
But the great thing about being a beauty professional is one, i think, first of all, recognize where the fear is coming from in the world because it's not from the beauty industry. no Second, increase your skill set and realize that if you do the same thing every day, you're going to be massively successful.
00:07:10
Speaker
Like massively, massively, massively successful, but transitioning to the point that the question you just brought up of where your focus is, right? Keep your focus on your business.
00:07:21
Speaker
And when you say if you do the same thing every day, elaborate on that to the listener, like show up to work, show up for your business. Is that what you're talking about? about Like the systems in place we go over in the course. Yeah, exactly. Like you you show up consistently with a good attitude over a long period of time. yeah You work on math, like when you're working on your skills, work on increasing your skills. Recognize you're not going to be a a professional or a master.
00:07:43
Speaker
ah You can be a professional. You're not going be a master overnight. You have to have the reps and then you have to get the classroom knowledge and then you have to actually put that into action. And you'll become a master. you'll You'll become a master of your craft.
00:07:55
Speaker
And you can increase your craft, right? If you move from if you move from lashes to eyebrows, that's a natural progression. That's in the beauty industry, right?
00:08:07
Speaker
If you go from ah from eyebrows to permanent... um to Parent makeup, yeah lip blushing or for whatever. Parent makeup. And then, um, what, we're learning so much i know i really what do you, what do you do now?
00:08:20
Speaker
Paramedical, paramedical tattoo. that yeah but So you go to paramedical tattoo, like you're, you're within that same industry. You're not, you're not going from, uh, you're not, you're not going from lashes to accounting.
00:08:31
Speaker
Yeah. Right.

Maintaining Focus and Strategy

00:08:32
Speaker
You're not going from lashes to something else, right. It's just, you're staying within this beauty professional. And and I think that's really important. Mm-hmm. Because naturally, you're going to have resistance, right? You're going to feel life happening.
00:08:47
Speaker
Now, whether it's inside your professional career or inside your personal life, life is going to happen to you no matter what. And so it's kind of how you respond during that time. But I think the number one thing I wanted to get across when we're talking about this topic is stay the course, like stay focused, decide where you're going to go.
00:09:03
Speaker
Decide how you're going to get there and then then work at it every single day and do the same thing. And it's going to get boring. And it's because it's easy when you get bored.
00:09:14
Speaker
Like if you look at your income, you're like, I don't like this. I want more. It's easy to look outside of what you're doing every day. Yes. When in reality, we should be looking within what we're doing every day because you have all this experience.
00:09:27
Speaker
And then you wake up confused because your hand's in like five different pots. And you're like, well, I got to work on this online sales or you know affiliate. And then I got to work on this. And i got and they don't really necessarily blend together. I'm thinking of a specific person where you know she got out of esthetician school and she was doing well. But then she decided she wanted to do another side hustle of like dog sitting and then another side hustle of like organizing and another side hustle of By the end of the the year, she had five side hustles that were doing piss poor. yeah and There was no structure in each individual one of them because she spread herself too thin. yeah
00:10:06
Speaker
And so something that, you know, when we talked about beauty in the business, why it made sense for me was because It kind of was, it tied everything together. I already was, you know, um well known in the community for my craft.
00:10:21
Speaker
I already was well known for teaching my craft. And now I wanted to take that a step further and help those women pass the training. So it still flows together. I'm still really working the same business, just in different avenues. yeah But where it gets really slippery slope, if you're just doing too many things instead of focusing on your beauty career, and it's a common fear.
00:10:44
Speaker
I'm working with somebody right now that I'm coaching who was offered a teaching position at the school she's currently in post-graduation. And that sounded really good to her because it's Money. She's already got the fear in her head that she's not going to be successful post-graduation as an esthetician.
00:11:04
Speaker
Is it? It's a comfort zone. Let me make sure I understand what you just said too. So she's a student now? She's a student now. And they offered her a teaching position? Correct. Was she an esthetician before? No, she's currently in school for her esthetician license.
00:11:19
Speaker
These beauty schools are wild. Yes. Like you're going to take a student who's a student now with no professional experience and turn around, offer her a teaching position to teach the people that are coming through in the next classes.
00:11:32
Speaker
Correct. And she's very bright. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure. She had like a history in corporate America. So I see why they want her. She presents herself very confidently. she you know, she's.
00:11:43
Speaker
caught on very quickly. She's excelled past everybody else in the class. it's like She has all the skills, but I said, that's still going to keep you in those handcuffs of the hourly wage when part of entrepreneurship is it lifts the the glass ceiling and this there is no limit. Yeah.
00:12:01
Speaker
and so That's one thing I see a lot of women do and what we talk about the dropout rate that it becomes scary to go out on your own just to put yourself out there and get started.

Goal Setting and Career Navigation

00:12:11
Speaker
So they'll grasp onto to something. Maybe they're just working their front and desk at a salon and they actually never touch a face.
00:12:18
Speaker
They'll go for that safety comfort with the idea of maybe someday. But that's why we go over goal setting in the course because it's really important to get dates on the books to work towards your goals to know like break it down and see exactly where you want to be. Yeah.
00:12:32
Speaker
And, you know, it's kind of getting off the topic of AI, but it all flows together. It's just like focusing on that to be a master of your craft. So you are irreplaceable. Right. And you can be irreplaceable in your skill set, in your talent, in the industry.
00:12:46
Speaker
Well, you should remind me of something. That's why we really have been focusing on students and fresh grad or somebody that's looking for an actual reset. Yeah. Establish your goals now.
00:12:57
Speaker
Yes. Don't try and establish your goals when, like, just recognize, even if you're in a reset, you're like, I don't necessarily love what I'm doing or I'm trying, like, I'm thinking about doing something else. Like if I'm going from lashes to dog sitting.
00:13:09
Speaker
like Guys, if you're at that, you're in a total reset. Recognize that and just reset your goals because you can't set goals like while the plane is flying. Yeah.
00:13:19
Speaker
Like you don't set the destination mid-flight. Right. Right. So land the plane, hit a reset. Right. go like go for a walk whatever that reset is like it doesn't have to be some major dramatic thing you can go for a walk take some deep breaths and recognize you're not where you want to be and you don't know where you want to be but you can take our goal setting course and but that's it like you can you can reset your goals because if you're trying to reset your goals or or reset your direction of your life um when you're confused it's it's not helpful like it's not useful and it's not helpful yeah i agree
00:13:54
Speaker
but i think So ra not wrapping up, but getting back to expanding, like if you do find yourself in that position, um stay in the same vertical. Like if you're if you're a beauty professional, stay in the same vertical of being a beauty professional, right? There's other things you can do.
00:14:11
Speaker
There's courses you can create. Mm-hmm. you know Hook up with us with ah beauty in the business. Like it's, it's, we're happy to talk about that. We love talking entrepreneurship. We love helping people.
00:14:22
Speaker
We've been talking to a lot of ah recent grads and students and that, you know, just able to provide insight in some direction into a field they're excited about, but they don't necessarily know the next step.
00:14:34
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. And that's why we created

Beauty in the Business Master Course Promotion

00:14:36
Speaker
it. We wanted we saw the need for it. So the master course is free right now. If you go to our website, ah which is beautyinthebusiness.vip,
00:14:47
Speaker
ah the course is normally $500, y'all. But we have seen ah ah traveling to school, speaking to students. that there's such a need in this get started now and while you're still in school. This is something you could do when you don't have clients coming in at school. This something you can get ahead of the game before you even graduate. And we're even going to give you a certificate so you can put that on your resume as you've completed a master course in beauty in the business that you can you know add that if you're applying to different salons and things of that nature.
00:15:18
Speaker
just something that's going to, again, set you apart from the rest of the group that you've taken a training already on how to be a successful beauty entrepreneur or beauty professional. Yeah, this take the course, like, please, please, please take the course.
00:15:33
Speaker
Um, that we talked to so ah so many, i mean, so many guys, I would say 99% that I talked to even that the sharpest of the sharp, like the, the people that seem super sharp, you go to their social media and they're going to get major value out of this training, like major, major, major value out of the train. So please take the course, take the time to apply the course. It'll put you light years ahead of where you are at right now.
00:15:58
Speaker
what The last fair that career fair that we went to, there was another person there that was talking about how she takes girls out of school and helps them you know apply for different jobs. and It was so smart what she said, but in school, you're getting experience.
00:16:15
Speaker
So you've been in school for five months. Okay, so you've had five months of hair color, five months of lash extensions, five months of facials. like You can put that down as experience before you even graduate. It doesn't really matter where you've done it. If you've been paid to do it or you're in school, I'm kind of rambling here, but you know it makes it makes sense. It gets you ahead of the game. That's what we're about here is just...
00:16:37
Speaker
giving you those little tips and tricks. If you need a one-on-one coaching session, we are available for those. ah But also the masterclass is going to give you the, just, you know, ah overview, a general overview of everything you can start working on now. Yep. So you guys connect with us on www.beautyinthebusiness.vip and all of our socials are there too.
