00:01:07
Speaker
These days I am passionate about guiding you to create your own growth and alignment throughout your own business. Ready to elevate your own brand and marketing? Let's do it!

Long-Term vs. Short-Term Content Strategies

00:01:21
Speaker
Day two, we're diving into creating long-term content that create becomes a consistent source of leads for your business. We're also gonna explore how to align your long-term content channel with your human design. So why does long-term content matter?
00:01:41
Speaker
Think about all that effort that you put into your social media posts, right? And after a few days, they disappear into the feed. There's a way to create content that continues to work for you long after you hit publish. And that's the magic of long-term content like blogs, podcasts, YouTube channels.
00:02:07
Speaker
These things stay relevant and are continually attracting new leads and helping you establish your authority. So let's be honest, right? If your current marketing feels like you're throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping that something sticks, you're not alone.
00:02:24
Speaker
you're probably trying to keep up with every trend and nothing seems to be really moving the needle. That's because short-term tactics, they can only get you so far. Long-term content on the other hand, really gives you sustainable way to grow your business and attract clients who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer. So using both short-term and long-term is gonna have you covered, right?
00:02:54
Speaker
but don't feel overwhelmed thinking, Oh, I've got to do, um you know, my social media. And then you're telling me I've got to do something else, right? Once you set up a simple system, then it's going to be easier for you to, um, to keep it, to keep it going, right? There's, there's some crossover that you can also do to save your time, which is like what I'm doing here right now. So I'm going live on Instagram,
00:03:19
Speaker
right I'm also recording it and I'm going to be using the um audio from the recording on my podcast. so um And I'm going to use the video in other areas as well. So making the most of this content that you're creating is really um the key.
00:03:39
Speaker
By the way, i'm I'm far more comfortable recording a podcast episode than what I am being live on Instagram. Being live on Instagram really freaks me out and that's probably why I'm forgetting all these things. um But I'm just getting out of my comfort zone and I'm doing it anyway, right? I'm in a launch period and I really want to get my message out there to as many people as possible. So sometimes it's about putting yourself out of your comfort zone.

Choosing the Right Content Medium

00:04:03
Speaker
So some steps to create an effective long-term content channel, right?
00:04:09
Speaker
First up, first step, choose your medium wisely. So pick a platform that really aligns with your strengths. So where's your ideal client hanging out and what also feels right to you. So here's how to determine which um avenue kind of fits best for you. So for blogs, they're really ideal for people who love writing and crafting detailed guides and storytelling.
00:04:38
Speaker
A blog can be optimized for SEO, right? Which is going to help bring people to your website, which is key and you know, should be a big part of your marketing strategy. A podcast, so podcasts are great if you enjoy speaking and sharing things verbally. um Podcasts can be consumed on the go and that makes it really appealing for busy people so they can listen to it while they're multitasking, right?
00:05:07
Speaker
YouTube, that's perfect for people who thrive on visuals and enjoy engaging with their audience through video. So videos can showcase your personality and really provide you know an interactive experience.
00:05:21
Speaker
So for me, like as a designer, um, visuals are important for me, right? But I chose a podcast for my main long-term content channel because, um, a couple of reasons I've got a defined throat center in my human design. So I'm naturally aligned with speaking. Um, it's easier for me to explain things verbally than writing, writing it down.
00:05:47
Speaker
you know, when I need to explain something to a client, I'll record a quick loom video for them and, you know, explain it rather than try and type it out and explain it in an email. So for me, a podcast feels so much more aligned. um You may have heard like some of my story when I first Um, started using my human design. I actually had a YouTube channel going and it was just starting to get traction and, um, you know, um, start working for me and I realized it wasn't aligned to me. So I shut it all down. Right. So, um,
00:06:26
Speaker
Yeah, it like, what's another example? Another example, say if you're a photographer, right? The photographers are very visual, right? They may prefer a blog because they can showcase all their images um and things. But say if you were a photographer that was in the business of educating, then, you know, maybe a YouTube may be better aligned for you because you could say,
00:06:50
Speaker
um you know show people through the process of any editing an image or you know whatever it is that you do. So really reflect on what feels natural to you and what aligns with your business. So today I want you to choose a medium right or if you already have one reassess and ensure that it's the right fit for you.
00:07:11
Speaker
um Number two is tailor your approach based on your human design energy type. So your unique energy type um can really help guide you.
00:07:24
Speaker
and help you tap into the strengths around, you know, what you share in your content. If you don't know your human design, you can um grab a copy of your chart on my website. um But basically the biggest part of your human design is your energy type. So if you're a generator, you could try responding to what excites you. So, you know, if you enjoy writing, start a blog about you know, where you can dive deep into topics that are really energizing to you.
00:07:59
Speaker
If you're a manifesting generator, you could embrace variety. So create content that showcases your, you know, your dynamic energy, you know, like YouTube videos or podcasts where you can cover multiple things quickly because, you know, your energy, you know, your interests and things are always changing. Manifestors, you could share bold ideas, you know, through visionary content. So whether that's video or blog or YouTube,
00:08:28
Speaker
um inspire your audience to take action on something. And projectors, focus on sharing your insights. So write deep dive blog posts or you know host the podcast um where you can guide your audience and provide strategic advice.
00:08:46
Speaker
Reflectors use your unique perspectives to highlight trends and share ideas. So podcasts and blogs are great mediums to reflect on broader themes in your community.

Developing Consistent and Resonant Content Theme

00:09:01
Speaker
So step three is develop a theme for your, um, for your channel, right? You want to come up with a content theme that's really going to resonate. So it should align with your passion, right? And the needs of your ideal clients. So a clear theme helps really position you as an authority in your niche and really helps you attract people who resonate with your message.
00:09:26
Speaker
So first step is pick a niche. Focus on a specific area that you really love talking about and that you could talk about all day. then you wanna define your message. So make sure your core message, whatever this um you know this theme is around, it's evident in all of your content. So it really, all your content really needs to relate to your niche and stay consistent, right? Consistency helps you build recognition and trust.
00:09:58
Speaker
So for example, my podcast is the Human Design Brand and Marketing Show. And that clearly blends human design with branding and marketing. And so it's going to attract um listeners who really want to align their businesses strategies with their unique energy. So all of the episodes that I publish will be human design and um you know and incorporate some kind of branding or marketing or business.
00:10:27
Speaker
um kind of tips or something. So it all centers around that area. So what I'd love you to do today, once you've picked your um your format, what you're going to go with, where you whether you're going to have a blog, a podcast, or a YouTube, is then work out what's your theme for that. And next we're going to look at the next step, and that's creating content that solves problems.
00:10:50
Speaker
Long-term content is all about providing value and offering solutions. So think about common challenges that your ideal clients face and how you can help them.
00:11:04
Speaker
So with that in mind, what I want you to really do is, you know, that sort of ties in a bit with what we did yesterday around your social media. Write down three content ideas that really address specific pain points of your ideal client, right? And then you can go on and create some killer content around that.
00:11:26
Speaker
And finally, the last step is to commit to a posting schedule. So, publishing regularly helps you stay accountable, right? And creates um a consistent presence.
00:11:41
Speaker
but your audience. So, um, find a rhythm that works for you, right? If it doesn't feel right for you to publish every week, do it every second week, right? Do what works. Even if it means like batching content and things when you feel inspired, like we spoke about in your social media yesterday. Just, um, yeah, if you know, if you're feeling inspired, batch it. Create a few podcast episodes and then publish them once a week.
00:12:05
Speaker
Um, I'm no angel in this department when it comes to consistency, like I struggle with it and, um, it's in my human design chart. I'm more a go with the flow when it comes to consistency, but I try and stick to a schedule. Um, every, every so often I will fall off the wagon and you know, that's okay. Um, when I can, when I'm ready, I'll get back on again, right? By showing up all the time, this is going to help generate those leads for your business, right? It's going to keep helping you show up in front of people, you know, be on their radar. Um, you know, they're going to want to jump over to your website, grab your free offer or whatever it is that you mentioned at the end of this, um, your blog post or your, um, you know, your YouTube um video or whatever it is. This is going what's going to help you generate those leads over time.
00:13:03
Speaker
So why it all works, why you need the long-term content, like I just said, it's going to help you you know generate those leads. It's going to help you build trust. It's going to help you build an authority and be like an expert in your area. And it's going to help you attract those leads over time.

Leveraging Podcasts for Client Attraction

00:13:20
Speaker
It's going to also allow potential clients to dive deep into your work and really get to know you.
00:13:26
Speaker
ah They really get to understand your message and you know, hopefully then they turn into customers. It's exactly what I see through my podcast. I've attracted clients through my podcast who've listened to a few episodes. Then, you know, come straight over and signed up to work with me without even, you know, joining my email list or following me on social media on Instagram or anything like that. They're my clients without even doing that because they, um, listen to my content on my podcast.
00:13:57
Speaker
So by also aligning it with your human design, right, you're gonna make content creation feel more natural and more enjoyable. You're gonna have fun while you're doing it rather than it being just another thing that's on your to-do list that you need to do.
