also at hazardousopinionspod and chat with us on discord we really appreciate all of you and your support now i will be selling you one of my fave underrated movies and that is the endless from 2017 uh the endless is a cosmic horror mystery time trap thriller Directed, written, and produced by filmmaking duo Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, who have directed Resolution from 2012, Spring 2014, one of Manhunter's personal faves ever that we will be doing a deep dive on at some point. Synchronic and Something in the Dirt, and they have done episodes of TV shows here and there like Archive 81 and Moon Knight. They are also the stars of the movie, which I've always adored, and they also use the real names in the film.

The movie is about two adult brothers who escaped a UFO death cult when they were younger and have since been living a very mundane, boring life together, but when they get a mysterious tape from the cult, Aaron, the littler brother, wants to go back for answers and Justin is very against it but agrees.

um They return back and it seems like nobody aged in the 10 plus years they've been gone. Must be their clean diet and healthy practices. Unless there is something sinister going on in that commune, will they be able to make it out again? What I love most about this movie is the original storyline and atmosphere and just the foreboding score like there's just something menacing and ominous going on but you're not sure what.

And if you go down the Moorhead, Benson, Rabbit Hole, or have seen anything else by them, their scores have a very specific-to-them sound that you can pick out of a crowd, honestly. The cinematography, of course, is amazing, and the effects are so cool, and honestly, I can say I haven't seen another movie quite like it. And it is a repeat watch for me almost yearly, and there's some very fucking cool and eerie scenery. And I love the actors and acting, and it is seriously just so good.

I should add that this is a sequel to the movie resolution that I mentioned earlier, also by them, obviously.

but it's not a must-watch before you watch the Endless, but there are overlapping characters and it's in the same universe. So that's always fun. I love when things like that happen. um And I've heard recently that they will be making a third one to finish off the trilogy, and I really hope so and soon.

It's a bit of a slow burn, but it is so engaging and keeps you guessing throughout, and the reveal is so surprising, at least it was to me.

And even my boyfriend Ryan also really loves this s one and we know by now how he feels about most movies so that as always should speak of volumes. And you'll be happy to know I'm finally picking a movie that is readily available to watch so you can find the Endless for free on Prime, Peacock, Tubi, Fubo, Roku TV, and Canopy all for free so there's really no excuse to not go watch it.
