Hello everyone, welcome to the Amazing Rewatch. This is Jessica and Sadie and we are covering Season 15, Episode 8, Leg 9. And we are in Sweden and the first team to depart today are Flight Time and Big Easy And there's really no follow-up or anything to last episode.

Which is good for matt and Gary because we remember the end of last episode, they struggled to get the clue in the hay bales. Yes. The hay bale thing was hard on a few other teams, but so they leave. It is interesting to see these ah departure times.

Because Flytime and Big Easy got their third. Mm-hmm. And they leave at 2.23. Then the next is Megan and Shane at 4.12, which is almost two hours later. And it didn't make it seem like it was that long between. Yeah. yeah And Sam and Dan, who were there first.

So Brian and Erica, 4.37 a.m., Sam and Dan at 5.04. So Sam was there almost three hours past flight time in Big Easy. Yeah. and then Plus whatever it was before. Yeah. So I think they said they were there for two hours before.

the globe charters showed up yeah that's crazy yeah and then matt and gary leave at 6 29 a.m and it says caution speed bump ahead so it's very spread out like four four hours yeah for that one roadblock yeah which was infamous the first time yeah so it's almost better like if they ever did that again i'd be like i'm just gonna take the four hour penalty For real. I wonder if they would let you. like i mean, I guess they would have to let you. Yeah. If you choose it, then... But, I mean, I guess Boston Rob did that.

So it's a 16-hour ferry ride. Yeah. Which it was only 236 miles. and took 16 hours. That's crazy. Yeah. took sixteen hours thats crazy But yeah, it so looks like a cruise ship. that like They have rooms with beds.

And it'll take them like all night. So if they departed 2.23am the one day, until 5.30 or 6. then it 16 hours. it's almost like or sick and then it took sixteen hours so we're it's almost like 48 hours later. By the time we even started the lake. Yeah.

And the cameraman's like, really? Dang it. You're not going to splurge for a hotel? so do they have to pay for a hotel room for the the crew too? Like, I wonder how that works. I wouldn't think so because...

So it's not in the door. So they're like trying all the keys. Then when they get the right one, an alarm goes off and the door opens. So these teams go in and it's a roadblock. And it says, who can solve a medieval mystery?

So the team member during the roadblock has to descend into the cellar and find a candelabra with a room number attached. locate They have to locate the room and then they'll be given what appears to be a blank scroll.

What they need to figure out is that if they hold the scroll over the lighted candle, it will reveal their next clue. So Shane and Sam decide that they're doing the roadblock and they kind of start working together at first, but then they kind of have to separate because they're looking for different numbers. yeah so And then and Gary arrive and they see the speed bump.

And it says they need to find a sauna bus and take and strip down and take a five-minute sauna with the locals. This sounds fun. Yeah. And they say sauna. Sauna bus. Sauna.

But it seems was like they're familiar with saunas. They talk about being, them being, because they're from. They're from Montana, but it sounds like. Probably the eastern part of Montana. Well, they talk about Minnesota a lot.

Erica and Brian and Flight Time and Big Easy arrive. So Erica and Flight Time do the roadblock. And Flight Time actually finds the room with the scroll first.

And he unwraps it. And it has like a red thing on the wrap. Yeah. I don't really know what it is. Like maybe like a wax seal. Yeah.

And he thinks it's kind of like a scratch scratch on type of thing but and so he doesn't figure out that you have to hold it up against the heat for at first and that makes sense like if you see that that's what comes with it you're like oh you know like a ah rubbing like an etching yeah maybe so shane finds a room and he holds it up to the light but he doesn't like he puts a like behind the light to read instead of in front of the light to get the heat so all these teams kind of have a hard time figuring out this heat thing which is not obvious you don't know that you're supposed to do that erica finds her room with the scroll ah so does sam um shane is the first one to actually figure out that you have to hold it up against the heat and it says what does it say um peak herman tower garden so p-i-k-k herman tower garden

Which is their next, where their next clue will be Yeah. So, this time. At one point, like, he held it up to the candle and the words were starting to reveal. And then he, like, puts it down and says, I don't see anything. Yeah. You could see it on our, like, our end.

And it's a good thing he didn't color on the other side of the paper. and know I know. was thinking that the whole time. he He luckily colored the back. Yeah. Yeah. um Sam figures out the candle trick and then Matt, or then flight time does. um At this time, Gary and Matt finish their speed bump and Matt is doing the roadblock as all the other teams are like leaving the roadblock.

um And Erica figured it out too. So... ah Matt gets in there and does the roadblock. He gets down to the basement where all the people are like talking and stuff like that. But he can't figure out what a candelabra is.

Detour Challenges: Volleyball vs. Slingshot

And I don't have this written down. So in serve, they have to play a round of mud volleyball in the bog against a local team. They have to score five points while submerged deep in the mud.

And then sling is plant themselves in the mud and use and use a slingshot to fire assorted vegetables at a target with a moose on it. Once they hit the target, the table full of cabbages will collapse, dumping them on the ground.

And the clue is in the pile of cabbages. So Megan and Shane choose serve because Megan played volleyball in high school. Yeah. and Sam, no, sorry. Brian and Erica choose sling.

She's being too nice.

Because Sam and Dan run up to a taxi that's driving and there's starting people in there. And they're like, can we pay you to give up your taxi? We're in a race. We need to need this taxi. And they're like, I can't walk.

yeah i can't. No, no, I can't walk. sorry And they're like, oh, I'm sorry. Then they're like, They see another bigger taxi van like down the road. But at the same time they spot it. Flight time and Big Easy spot it as well.

first so it is kind of like who you know yeah what's the the quote-unquote etiquette for that like yeah talks to the driver first or who gets in the car first yeah but it turns out to be a taxi big enough to hold them all four of them yeah so they just decide to split it which is a little awkward because they're all kind of fighting yeah it seems like sam and dan because when they were looking for the detour clue Sam and Dan are like, they're just following us. They never do anything i know themselves. And I'm like, but you guys are going to the same place. Yes.

That's, ah that's what they do now as they're like sitting in the taxi and it has like their aftertrip. ah after interview or whatever they're just don't ever do anything for themselves but no they're not going to just stand back and be like let's wait for them to go there first so it doesn't look like we're following them we're going to stand here and do nothing yeah it's like you're at the same place at the same time going and that people have done this in the past before and it just drives me crazy i'm like no they just happen to be around there and they're not going to not go to the same place you are yeah like if you

go the wrong way on purpose and somebody follows you then maybe yeah you can say they're following us but if you're going to the same place at the same time you're going to be going the same way yes so it's really annoying that they say that and then they say like oh they're just so lucky they don't do anything for themselves they don't even like they just rely on other people to run this race it's like no they haven't they literally haven't asked anybody for anything yeah they've done everything on their own Yeah, nothing that I can remember that stands out.

So they're just really confused and they're just like kind of running everywhere. And and they keep saying, this is the tower, the tower. I know, but how do we get up there? And yeah and Gary's like, this is such a waste of time. We're like, we're losing a lot of time.

So Megan and Shane arrive to their detour. Their driver is like... um Coming up on this thing there on the side of the road, there's a big kind of like wooden arch type of thing with like a design. It's like a weird looking thing, but that's where the parking area is for this detour.

So he arrives there. It says parking. He gets there. They get to the detour and they... kind of they have a pretty easy time doing this like they yeah are the most successful at the detour for sure and you can tell that they're athletic and have experience with the volleyball type of game i was wondering why they let their taxi go though because what they like drop them off oh there's oliver Oh, yeah. So, yeah, they actually end up doing their detour pretty quickly and working well together. It's like the clue said on the detour. they They're basically in a a bog playing volleyball, but the mud is so deep. Yeah, they're like almost like thigh deep, almost waist deep even some places. And Shane's like, i don't know if this is even mud. Yeah. Because it doesn't really look muddy. It looks like.

It's just like wet. Yeah, wet. Because, they yeah, they don't come out covered in mud. They come out just like maybe a little like a few pieces of mud here and there but mostly it's like more like like sticks clay not even that but yeah it's more like what is like wood chips like wet wood chips or something like that maybe it's kind of weird yeah how do you even describe but anyway it looks hard to move around in there um And end oh yes, they end up finishing and the clue says, trudge through the bog and search for the Chiava-Raba Overlook Tower for the pit stop for this leg of the race. So, yeah, Flytime and Big Easy end up finishing the detour. They get their five points and they get the clue that to go to the pit stop, which we know is not very far away. But Sam and Dan finish, like, right after them.

um As Flytime and Big Easy are, like, running, they start down the boardwalk in the right wrong direction. And so Sam and Dan finish the detour and read their clue and they so go the other way. And Flytime and Big Easy kind of see them.

And so they turn around and start running the other way. So now it's like a pit's not... It's a... Foot race to the pit stop. Yeah. And Sam and Dan don't have shoes on. I think Flight Time and Big Easy did put their shoes on.

And... um So it looks like flight time is trying to pass Dan, but he slips right as he's trying to pass him and takes his legs out from under him, basically. sam and Dan end up getting to the mat before flight time and Big Easy, but it's pretty close. But it was another situation. hear Easy say like, oh, that ain't right or something like that. It's another situation where it reminds me of like Margie and or marja Luke and Jen and Keisha.

But then in the heat of the moment with all those emotion emotions and stuff like that. like And your other teammate is like just looking out for you. And you're just really competitive and stuff like that. So Dan says that flight time purposefully grabbed him and threw him down.

But then Big Easy says that Dan tripped flight time. Yeah. So they're all saying like so like it wasn't you know all this stuff like that and ah just seems like there's going to be a lot of tension coming. They didn't like hash it out too much.
