Happy Woo Wednesdays.

Today I chat with my friend Ralph. We talk about passion, dedication, mental strength. It's all about mindset. He's the hardest working guy in the industry.

Ralph is my main videographer on the Carissa Woo team.

Ralph has really helped me with my mindset this year with back to back weddings. I never had a business year with all the reschedules and wedding boom.

He taught me how to get back energy when I'm feeling low. He taught me how to eat a breakfast that doesn't bring you down. I now try to eat a fruit in the morning instead of ramen.

Ralph was born in La Puente California in 1983 and has always been a adventurous and creative individual. In his younger days his passion was Art, sports and photography. Ralph grew up using a camera and rolls of films to capture family vacations, holding mini photography sessions and documenting the world around him. His love for photography grew when he received his first digital camera over 20 years ago. He decided to enhance and fine-tune his natural talent throughout the years by pursuing a career in this field. He has gained extensive knowledge of the different types of cameras and equipment used in film making.

Meet Ralph Gonzalez

00:01:23
Speaker
Hey guys, today I have a special guest. His name is Ralph Gonzalez, and he's actually the videographer on the Carissa Wu photography team. And he is the hardest working person I have ever met in my life. And today we are gonna talk about passion, dedication, and mental strength. Three things that he's really helped me out on in the past couple of years, I would say. So welcome, Ralph, what's up? Hey, how you doing? Thank you for having me. Thank you. Yeah, so this is your first podcast.
00:01:53
Speaker
super first podcast. I've never done it. I didn't ever think I was whatever be doing one. So I'm here. Are you excited? Especially just, you know, being able to work with you hand in hand for these years and then see your growth and see everything you're doing outside of, you know, within the wedding business, you're doing so much and branching out. And I love to see that you keep me motivated in ways you don't even know.
00:02:21
Speaker
Oh, yeah, same to you. You're like my big brother. And definitely my mindset brother.

Ralph's Creative Journey

00:02:28
Speaker
So tell me and or tell the listeners a little bit about you and what you do and how you got started. Well, so I'm a I consider myself a director or cinematographer editor now. I used to just kind of call it as a videographer, but
00:02:45
Speaker
As I grow in the industry, I started fine tuning and really building my craft. But just to let you know how I started, you know, about when I was 18 or, you know, just I've always had a creative niche within myself. I've always been able to draw, always been able to just have this creative filter coming through me. So growing up, I was able to draw, you know,
00:03:13
Speaker
portraits and landscape and, you know, just all kinds of different things. So I just really drove that, that passion and creativity towards, you know, documenting my own life. Really. Uh, I built a right hand drive car when I was like 20 years old and just started documenting everything that I was doing. And I started really loving it and being able to manipulate the footage and
00:03:39
Speaker
add colors and add titles and I don't know, it just was like my little movie, you know?
00:03:47
Speaker
What is, what is the car thing? We built a red hand car. What is that? Oh, actually it's called a right. It's a right hand drive. So yeah, yeah, yeah. So like, um, I was into Honda's when I was like, you know, 18, 19 years old, I bought a car. It was like a 1988 hatchback. And once I found out what they were doing in Japan, I was just like, whoa, this is crazy. Oh,
00:04:13
Speaker
I literally converted my car into a Japanese full car like it was right hand drive. The motor I put in it was really, really fast and race seats and I had all this, you know, craziness fast and furious driving me so I was just documenting everything and I was like really having fun as a young man and just
00:04:38
Speaker
you know, being adventurous and just living my best life. And I feel like my career just landed in my hands. It was weird. One day someone's like, Hey, can you shoot my wedding? Because they knew I was like messing around with the camera a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, Yeah, yeah.
00:04:58
Speaker
I was like, you're going to pay me. I was like, yeah, yeah, we'll give you, you know, 300 bucks or whatever. I was like, dude. Totally. Yeah. And I was like, so excited. And I was like, you know, that was the turning point, I guess, when you could really say that the light bulb went off. I was like, dude, I love this. Someone's hitting me up to do it for money.
00:05:27
Speaker
I'm like, hey, this could be something that I could turn into. And just to give you a little bit more background, I didn't have a lot of direction growing up. I was just in sports and wanted to be a pro athlete. And I got injured my senior year. So I fell into this world of not really putting too much
00:05:50
Speaker
thought into what I did. I just did it, you know? Yeah, I just lived and just carefree. And it just was like one thing, layers of layers of things were just landing in my lap. And I was like, Oh my god, I'm so blessed. It's so amazing. And I guess I just picked it up. And I started posting ads on Craigslist, like, yeah, you know, just
00:06:15
Speaker
really not knowing what I was doing, but I printed business cards and I was like, you know, make your memories last. And, you know, just, I don't even know what else. Yeah. This is like the cheesiest thing ever. And, um, I told myself that I wasn't, whatever parking lot I was going to pull into that day, whether I was grocery shop shopping, um, to the mall, wherever I was going to put a business card on every car in the lot.
00:06:45
Speaker
Oh, that's crazy. And, you know, my son, I had him with me and at the time, you know, I was a security guard. I was like doing security, just maintaining a money flow. And, um, I landed coincidentally, a security job at 20th century Fox. So I was, yeah, it was, it was weird. It was like.
00:07:11
Speaker
the universe and God and whoever else was fighting for my career was putting me in front of these platforms.
00:07:18
Speaker
for the motivation purposes. I was like seeing all these great projects right in front of my eyes. I had the keys to every single door on the 20th century Foxlot. I was shutting down the sets. I was making sure there was no fire hazards when they were done and completed the sets. So I would walk through all the sets and
00:07:43
Speaker
you meet all the camera operators and, you know, I was just like, I had a hustle mentality. So, you know, I've always been really conversational and wanting to know what other people are doing. And, you know, so I guess just having these deep conversations with people, like this was something I really wanted to attack this video world because I saw how big it could be, you know,
00:08:10
Speaker
And you watch movies and stuff as you grow up, but you don't really put yourself in a position where you think that could be you. It's not realistic enough growing up. I guess in the neighborhood I grew up in, it was just like you either be a pro athlete or, you know, like just a regular job. So did you, a couple of questions, Ralph.
00:08:35
Speaker
Did you, what do you like to, what's your niche now? And who do you best like to serve? Like what type of, what do you like to shoot

The Passion for Wedding Videography

00:08:44
Speaker
most? I know you do a lot of music videos and work with a lot of celebrities, but tell me like what your favorite thing to shoot is now. Yeah. So now I've, I've become a little bit more, I guess, a woke and soft spoken. And I like shooting weddings right now because
00:09:04
Speaker
You know, you never know what you're going to get. You never know. I love even going to venues I've never been to. I love walking into a room for the first time and experiencing just that storytelling, that portion of the day, you know, seeing these people in love, genuinely in love.
00:09:25
Speaker
being able to put my passion and my creativity on top of their story is something that really drives me and Yeah, I mean it totally inspired me because you even kind of communicate that to the client like hey guys like this is my vision like this is what I'm seeing right now and I think that's really helped me kind of communicate and direct my clients because I don't think I ever
00:09:48
Speaker
really did that before, I would be like, hey, do this, do this, do this, you know, run up to her, make her laugh, but you kind of paint the vision for them and tell them because you are a true storyteller. Yeah, you know, and also working alongside of you, I love that, you know, I could see things within you that you can't see because you're so focused, you're so driven and you're so, you know, like I can see
00:10:17
Speaker
you mapping out everything you need for your project. Within your head, I can see how intuitive you are with the day and how many steps you are in front of the couple as far as things you need to do. And I'm sitting there literally right behind you. So I see these, I feel your direction and everything you bring to the table in the wedding game. And just overall as a professional photographer,
00:10:45
Speaker
I think is amazing. You know, you really tune into your clients and I really appreciate that because it makes the whole entire day feel more connected. Yeah. Yeah. We definitely are on the same wavelength. Um, I went to ask this question to you. I kind of know it because I know you pretty well, but what is like, I call it my woo factor. Like what makes Ralph, um, stand out from the rest? You know, I would say,
00:11:15
Speaker
I'm the hardest working person that I know. And I'm gonna be until the day I die. And I love what I do and I translate that in every way. Just being passionate about everything I do is something that makes me different.
00:11:40
Speaker
Yeah. And this is going to allude to like our hot topic in a little bit, because because you are hardworking, you have to be like mentally strong, physically, physically strong. Your mindset has to be like super sharp. And you taught me so many techniques. And we'll go into that later. But I want to ask you to tell us a little bit about like your your family, because I know you kind of have like the Brady Bunch going on. And so and I love a good love story. Yeah, yeah. So I have five children.
00:12:09
Speaker
children and, you know, I got a big family that I support and I love and I love to make breakfast every morning for them and just really enjoy them. So, you know, having a big family is amazing to me. I mean, it's hard work because there's so many more mouths to feed, but when you start looking at it at a place where you're like,
00:12:39
Speaker
You know, this is too much for me or, you know, you can't look at it like that. You got to have a positive mindset about everything. And that's what keeps me going.
00:12:51
Speaker
Yeah, that's so crazy. Five kids is a lot. But I know you talked about like, you know, coming from kind of a rough background. But what was there something like you struggled with the most like in the past 10 years or five years in your business? And like, was there like a turning point of something happened that you had to become like this crazy mental strength man? Did something like happen or just you were you were always like this?
00:13:19
Speaker
Um, I've always had a crazy dry. I knew I was going to be someone great as when I was little, I used to always say, I'm going to be a stunt man or something different. And my friends used to be always like, what, what are you talking about? And I just had a different outlook. Everybody went left and I went right. I love that.
00:13:43
Speaker
I just have been such an individual to learn how to work on myself off the court, you know? Yes. And I think it's important to really indulge in working on yourself, working on your energy. If you're feeling your energy lacking throughout the day, in the wedding, you got to figure that out. What's going to help you? Yeah. What's going to help them?
00:14:11
Speaker
hydrate, just making sure that you're really on top of yourself and your mental game. Yeah, I mean, you have like crazy energy and you don't really sleep, which I don't really suggest that. Today, we are going to have our hot topic. Tell us, Ralph, about our hot topic. I know you put on the question, your passion, dedication, and mental strength, but kind of explain what you're going to talk about today and your three tips.
00:14:37
Speaker
Well, you know, everything I think that is great comes with passion. Strength is something that I think comes with the mental game and physical game. Okay. It's important to continue movement in your joints, in stretching, getting your body ready for the day. If you don't,
00:15:01
Speaker
you're going to feel the the heartache and the stress in your joints and in your body. We don't really understand how we take
00:15:12
Speaker
and digest stress, but it's all within our joints, all within our body, all within our tissue. And just understanding that and really devoting time to stretch and move your body joints and dance and just fingertips, just everything you use on a daily.
00:15:43
Speaker
We forget. Yeah, I think I was. Yeah, I think I was in a funk one time and you told me you're just like, Carissa, you need to like change it up. Like, you know, get up and like go rollerblading or like do something different or like go like jump in a pool or like and just every time like I needed to hear this, I'm like, you came in my life. I'm like, oh my God, that's so like what I needed to hear. And I think our last wedding, like I was feeling kind of like low energy.
00:15:56
Speaker
You know? Yes, I'm doing that now. I'm like stretching my neck and my head.
00:16:08
Speaker
And I forgot you said something about like frequencies, you're like Chris at the song, like Alicia Keys, like it has a different frequency, like you have to wake up to like new frequencies and like be like tap into that energy and like, you know, go on YouTube and like, like learn about the body and how like it works and all this kind of crazy stuff. And I'm like, dude, like I needed to hear that. Like you said, you have to like be like in the present, like always because of past and the future. Like that's like what gives us pain and anxiety and like exactly.
00:16:36
Speaker
all we have is our present. But I'll let you take it away with your tip number one. Yeah, you know, that conversation was great because sometimes we just got to be reminded who we are. You know, as we go through our day, we have bills, we have, you know, mortgages and we have car payments, we have all these other layers of things. But if we understand that
00:17:03
Speaker
everything is going to come already. We don't have control and of everything in the world. We just have control of ourselves. So it's important just to understand that at the first platform.

Ralph's Advice on Health and Goals

00:17:20
Speaker
Okay, so we, number one, we have control over ourselves.
00:17:26
Speaker
So anything outside, you know, pandemic or kids crying or something bad happened, like those are all things out of our control. So we have to just focus on what we can control, correct? Exactly. And I would say the first thing to having control is to control what you eat.
00:17:48
Speaker
Ooh. Damn. That's why you always ask what you eat for breakfast. I know it's like a might check thing, but it's actually, you're really curious. Yeah. Some people eat things that I know it's going to weigh them down for their day. And it's like, wow, they don't know. I want to help people, but you know, I was doing a lot of that and I think I was wasting more energy than anything.
00:18:15
Speaker
Okay, so tell us what we can eat. I know you're a cook, but it's something simple that will give us energy throughout the day.
00:18:24
Speaker
Something simple could be just grab a fruit. We are so Americanized in this Western world. We think we have to have a big hamburger, a fries, and all this other craziness. We could just have a fruit and hydrate, and we'll feel so good throughout the day.
00:18:51
Speaker
Okay, I know so simple. Yeah, Mike drop Okay, grab a fruit and hydrate. Okay, and then how about like lunch? Lunch I like to cut up bell pepper up. Excuse me bell peppers Onions cilantro What else do I put in our tomatoes like I make like a pico de gallo Okay, basically
00:19:18
Speaker
Got it. And you could mix that with tortillas, make tacos, add a little hot sauce, but I do not include any processed meat or anything like that because that weighs you down. Yeah. Yeah. I hate that feeling of like brain fog. And I really,
00:19:36
Speaker
Learn that after having like two kids and I'm like the way you eat like it just makes me feel like I'm like I can't even think Yeah, for sure. And you know, I've always been eating meat. So I know exactly what the difference is You know, I know how it feels to Just feel groggy when you eat and you don't have any energy after Well, I just got tired of that feeling
00:20:02
Speaker
Yeah. I'm like trying to accomplish 16 hour days shooting and I can't live like that anymore. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So you are a vegan. Yes. Okay. Got it. We'll talk about that in another episode, but tell us tip number two.
00:20:19
Speaker
Shout out to our sponsors. Photo Booth Supply Co. helps entrepreneurs start and scale their businesses by creating meaningful experiences with a photo booth. Living in a digital age, anywhere people gather is an opportunity for an experience. And what better way to capture those memories than with a photo booth? There has never been an easier way for photographers to scale their businesses, increase their marketing efforts, and maintain cash flow during off season than with a photo booth like the Salsa booth.
00:20:47
Speaker
Increase revenue 600 to 800 dollars per event by adding a photo booth to your services so you can make more and work less. If you don't provide a photo booth, someone else will. So stop leaving money on the table and get yourself a salsa booth today. Tip number two, I think just setting small goals. We all have these big goals and we all want to be great and we all see the vision of like
00:21:16
Speaker
the overall life, but just focus on the small goals. Set a goal for tomorrow, set a goal for this week, you know, set a goal for this afternoon. Like, yeah, people forget that setting the goal and following it, that consistency is what's going to allow you to grow. Yes.
00:21:41
Speaker
me and you always have a lot of goals. I'm like the mini Ralph or Ralph Jr. Like I always call myself. Okay, so I'm going to play coach a little bit before we get into our next tip, but I'm obviously a wedding photography coach. So if you had a magic wand, where would you see your business in three months, only three months?
00:22:04
Speaker
I could totally see it blowing up in a way where I have editors on staff. I'm booking multiple weddings throughout the weekends, multiple shooters under my belt, accomplishing really cool storytelling. Okay, love that. Storytelling. Okay, so you actually do want to kind of get more into the weddings.
00:22:33
Speaker
Yeah. You know, at first I was listening to all these cinematographers and directors and everybody kind of frowns upon it in the production world, like on musical video sets and like film sets, everybody frowns to the creative world, like as a videographer. But, you know, let me tell you something. I have speed ramped my craft.
00:23:01
Speaker
so much faster than a lot of people because I'm in the wedding game so heavy. Oh, interesting. Think about this. If you're an artist and you're using a paintbrush and you're painting every day, but these guys over here, they're only painting once a week. Obviously, my skill set is going to grow 10 times faster than anybody that I'm competing with. Yeah, that's a Kobe mentality.
00:23:31
Speaker
Exactly. Cool. I'm glad that you feel like you've been gating a lot of speed through all these weddings that we've been shooting together. That's so cool. Because the cool thing is that ultimately, when we have this couple in front of us, we're directing them, we're creating scenes. Yeah.
00:23:53
Speaker
The establishment and the background is already there. We just have to create the movement. The love is already there. So we just have to direct them. You know, so like as a director I get to it's like a bonus for me. I get to yeah, it's like practice for me. Huh? So when you say like the industry frowns upon weddings, are you saying like they frown upon being a wedding photographer? Well, yeah, because
00:24:22
Speaker
You know, like videographer me. Yeah. So these guys are like shooting, you know, music videos, hanging out of cars, shooting action scenes. And then like, when they think of weddings, it's just like a whole different pace. So I think just, I don't know. They, I think they just, people are lazy and they don't want to work, you know? Yeah. Yeah.
00:24:48
Speaker
I love to shoot. I love to be a part of a day where I'm like telling a story and, you know, although it's hard work for my body and it's, you know, physical and mental, you know, digestion throughout the day. You really got to love what you do.
00:25:06
Speaker
Yeah, you carrying around that big crane all day. So I couldn't do that. That's crazy. And you know, as a photographer, those cameras in your fingers get heavy. So you working out your hands while you're driving, you know, they have little things that you can squeeze and hands while you're just hanging around watching a movie. And then you'll realize
00:25:33
Speaker
that the next time you pick up a camera, it's going to be lighter. Your hands are going to be stronger. You could feel better while you're shooting. Yeah. I mean, after a pandemic, my, my cameras felt like a thousand pounds because I didn't have that muscle. Cool. Okay. So that brings us to tip number three.

Gratitude and Stress Management Techniques

00:25:53
Speaker
And then we'll, after we're going to go into rapid fire questions. So, um, your tip number three for passion, dedication, and mental strength. Um, you know,
00:26:03
Speaker
Just remember, be thankful for waking up. Oh, yeah. You told me that too. That's so helpful. You know, we all live in such a fast paced life and we're trying to keep up with it. But we forget that we are in control of time. You know, if if you're waking up in the morning and you're late for work and you're rushing, then wake up earlier. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
00:26:33
Speaker
Then be smart about your day. Don't live in the future. Don't stress about a bill that you can't pay in three months from now. Why? Yeah. Live in the moment. And don't try to live for anyone. Don't change your character for anyone. You got to understand what you watch.
00:26:57
Speaker
is also a digestion for you. So if you're watching all these negative platforms, listening to negative music, if you're putting yourself around that world, then you're going to attract that. I think it's important to understand that having a good vibration
00:27:17
Speaker
comes along with listening to good frequencies, good music, feel good things, having positive thought process. We all have negative thought process, but it's really important to control that. Stop the thought process and say, no, not today. Really take control of yourself. Find that flame inside of you to switch your mentality.
00:27:48
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, you helped me so much with that. I think, you know, Mondays, I'm usually stressed out because there's like so many things on my list. But I think I gave myself like the mantra, like, take your time, like, and you taught me a lot like we are in control of our time. And it was really like a mind shift for me because
00:28:08
Speaker
I feel like after having two kids and the coaching business and the wedding photography business, it's just like a race for time during the day. But I have to understand why I give myself that anxiety. This is my business. If I'm having anxiety, I'm failing because it's no fun.
00:28:25
Speaker
Yeah, you know, and I listened to one of your last episodes, and I think you guys were talking about anxiety and stress. And I want to say your last guest was saying that he likes to have that because it gives him a little bit of edge. And so doing a lot of research and just really understanding the body, the mind and how, you know, traumatic things kind of hit us.
00:28:53
Speaker
Having that is really good because it puts you in a place where you're overthinking. You want perfection for your life and you want it to be perfect. We get so sad and depressed and we get anxiety when the day curves and starts to go a different direction.
00:29:20
Speaker
It's really important to learn how to ride that wave. Just let it go and just flow with it and just enjoy it, even if it's stress. Oh my gosh. I have came out to my car. My car was missing and I would just laugh at it. And I'm just like, wow. Okay. This is what you're going to give me today? Oh my God. And it's like, just take it on. Who cares?
00:29:48
Speaker
Just whatever, whatever it comes with, just really allow the day to unfold and you're going to realize how great you really are to accomplish the mental stress that you went through to that day. Yeah. I mean, we all have stressors throughout the day, especially as business owners. So you're saying just kind of take it and stride and just ride that wave in like a positive light. Yeah. And don't, don't just be messy with it. Plan your day.
00:30:19
Speaker
Um, don't let it just unfold. You really want to structure it. Yeah. But if it doesn't go your way, don't get upset about it. Just ride it out and try to narrow it to the next day. That's totally good. Ralph, can you tell us, cause I've talked to you like many times before, but can you tell us a little bit more about like frequencies?

Positive Energy and Frequencies

00:30:40
Speaker
Yeah. So, uh, the world.
00:30:44
Speaker
Um, and this is all research. I mean, I don't know how true it is, but I been doing a lot of experimenting in the last four years, I would say. And it started with eating clean. Um, I started growing my hair long so I can have access to my nervous system. Um, I want to be able to have access to my full thought process, you know, whatever that may be. Um, but the world.
00:31:13

is a 7.8 frequency. So when you're in the zone, when you're feeling good and you're feeling really nice and you're just productive and you're getting shit done for your family, you're doing laundry and you're not missing a beat, your day is flawless.
00:31:36
Speaker
That is called a zone. That you fall into this space when you don't allow any stress in. When you block the stress and when you really navigate your day and structure it, that means that your frequency and your vibration is close as you can get it to 7.8. Wow. Yeah.
00:32:03
Speaker
If we're feeling stressed, if we're feeling, you know, like COVID has got the best of you and this government and all this crazy politics talk is stress. Turn it off. Like don't look at it. Anything that creates for you, anything that creates that for you, just stop looking at it. If you're looking at scary movies and wondering why you have anxiety before bed.
00:32:34
Speaker
So I think just digestion of what you watch, what you eat, what you consume overall is music and just like, you know, I have been put in a position
00:32:48
Speaker
where I've kind of like pushed people away in a sense where they were just a negative vibe. Yeah. They were complaining all the time. I don't have time to digest any or hear any of that because I got so much more that I want to accomplish. I probably accomplish 40 things in a day and majority of the people I know accomplish too. Yeah.
00:33:13
Speaker
And I have time to work out. I have time to cook for my kids. I have time to do laundry. And I have time to cut my dog's hair. I structure my day so well. And I let it flow. Yeah, I love it. Okay, so I think I'm just going to recap real fast. So number one is
00:33:34
Speaker
you are in control. And that starts with like what you eat. So eat healthy, hydrate, helps your mind. And then number two is setting small goals, like even a goal for this day or a goal for tomorrow, all the small goals turn into big goals or accomplishing your big goals.
00:33:53
Speaker
And number three is remember to be thankful for just waking up and it's so important when you taught me that because when you feel anxiety just remember like be thankful for breathing and being healthy and walking on two feet. It really puts you back into a state of gratitude and I turn it into four points but
00:34:14
Speaker
I turned into tip number four was all about your frequency. So I feel like you just explained everything. So right. I didn't I never heard about the seven point eight frequencies. So maybe if you're feeling like in a funk, like just start dancing or like moving your body and just getting into that, like that zone that you talk about. Exactly. Yeah. One thing I forgot to mention. Yeah, go for it. Within the mental strength,
00:34:43
Speaker
You know, the first stage of that is learning how to breathe properly. Um, because within the stress that we just digest throughout the day, you could hear a speech from Joe Biden passing by the TV to go to use the restroom. And that statement that he said could stress your whole week out. Wow. Totally. So like.
00:35:09
Speaker
When you hear that stress, breathe, inhale, exhale, nice and smooth, slow. Do not let that information in. Okay. You know what I'm saying? Yes. Don't tense your body. And a lot of people filter that stress through their body, their back, their neck. You know, we all tense up.
00:35:32
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, I'm very sensitive. So like little things do affect me. So I've been, you know, training my mind to be like much mentally stronger. And I feel like I've come a long way in the past like couple months. That's amazing. Yeah. Thank you. So I'm gonna go into rapid fire questions. I think I just have three. But I guess the first one's kind of fun. But what do you like to do for fun with your wife and kids?
00:35:58
Speaker
You know, uh, I try to get my family to be on the adventurous platform. So, you know, zip lining, bowling, um, camping, being outdoors. Um, I just recently, I just started teaching my boys how to fly my drone. So, you know, just enjoying what the day brings, you know, like, I like to just hang out with them really.
00:36:28
Speaker
Yeah, the simple things. I love that. Okay, number two is kind of a business question. What is your favorite or best sales tip that you could give us? How to get that heck yes from your dream clients. You know, something that I've noticed in the last few years is that don't put pressure on it.
00:36:54
Speaker
you know, let your work speak for itself and just make sure that you don't put pressure on the client. Tell them to go look around to really understand what they want because it's a special day. Yeah. And if they feel like they connect with my work and who I am, then give me a call. You know, I don't put any pressure on anything.
00:37:20
Speaker
things land in my lap for a reason and I get new projects for a reason. That's awesome. And I think also like you're really about the team. Like you're always saying like, Hey, let's, we're a team. Like let's motivate each other. Like you're kind of on that, like that mindset of we could all, you know, we could all do well together and you know, you don't have to succeed and someone failed. Like we all could succeed together.
00:37:44
Speaker
Exactly. Or we all fell together. Yes. And, you know, I think that I used to get that from being in football and sports, you know, I played basketball, football, hockey, all these things. And, you know, becoming a leader of my team and showing motivation to all these other players, I think it just trickled on to who I am now.
00:38:09
Speaker
Yeah, I love that. Yeah, I've played tennis in college and high school and you got to be a team player. Okay, last question, Ralph. And then I'll tell the viewers like where to find you and then like a little lasting words from Ralph.

00:38:25
Speaker
But what is your biggest accomplishment in business?
00:38:30
Speaker
You know, I wasn't sure what it was, but just a few months ago, I started just like looking at my resume and just really like digesting who I am and what projects I have on my play and what brands. You know, I've worked with Apple, Pepsi, Nike, MTV Asia, Vans Asia. But like,
00:38:56
Speaker
all these big brands, Power 106 and you know, but to be honest, me hearing the fact that I just got booked my feature film, I just booked my first feature film and it's a 70s hot rod movie. Oh, congrats dude. I think that is my biggest accomplishment right now. Tell us more if you can.
00:39:24
Speaker
Yeah, so I worked with a director named Joseph Chanel and we did a short film together called My Inspired World. Okay. My first short film I shot and
00:39:39
Speaker
We did it with a small crew, entered this project into film festivals and we won a few trophies. I got best cinematographer, director of photography. Thank you.
00:39:55
Speaker
Um, we got best short film and I was like, okay, okay. And at the time I was just taking in projects, whatever projects would, I would get a call for, I would take it. Music video, commercial, random stuff, you know? Yeah. And, uh, when I got this call, I was like, whoa, this is huge.
00:40:17
Speaker
Oh, that's awesome. It's going to be in Georgia, six month project. And to be honest, I'm probably going to be making more in this six months than I ever have in a year. Oh my gosh. Dinner on you. I'm super excited for this next level in my life. Yeah. Next stage. Oh, that's huge. That's amazing.
00:40:42

Aw, thank you. And any last words for wedding pros out there trying to figure this world out? You know, I would say when you're shooting a wedding, don't have anything else in your mind. Be in the moment. Be in your moment. It's for the purpose of the couple. It's for the purpose of the day. When you really connect with the day,
00:42:23
Speaker
and you go back and look at your content, you're going to be surprised because you're going to see how much more connected you were.
00:42:31
Speaker
Yeah, I like that. Yeah, I feel like I always told my sister and my friends, like, I feel like when I'm working at a wedding, then I'm actually kind of on vacation because I get to think about one thing for once, you know, when I'm not shooting a wedding, I have to think about editing the kids and Instagram and all this kind of things. But I'm definitely like in the zone and you are in the zone. Like when we're shooting the wedding, it's all about the couple. Yeah, totally.
00:42:58
