Ideal Month Length & Calendar Reform
00:00:07
The Amazing Rewatch
Hello, hello. It is the last day of February, the 28th, the shortest month of the year. And here we are. Every month should be 28 days. i know. It makes it nice and easy. Just like you have four days of every day of the week.
00:00:26
The Amazing Rewatch
And this month was a perfect month because it started on Monday, ended on Saturday. Yeah. I mean, to Sunday. Sunday. But that meant the 13th was a Friday. And next month, there'll be another Friday the 13th. Yes, because March is the same days are the same day of the week.
00:00:47
The Amazing Rewatch
Yes, February. every day, every month should be 28 days. And then what's 28 times 12?
00:00:54
The Amazing Rewatch
I don't know. Hey, Siri. What is 28 12?
00:00:59
The Amazing Rewatch
336. 28 times 12 is 336.
2020 Coma Theory & Seasonal Shifts
00:01:01
The Amazing Rewatch
So we need like another month. So 3365 minus 336? Uh-huh. hu So we'd need a 29-day month.
00:01:11
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. Every year. So have 13 months with all 28 days and then one with 29. And then every month needs to shift backwards because the seasons are wrong.
00:01:22
The Amazing Rewatch
And my theory is that we all went into a coma in 2020. Yeah. And didn't know it. And so now winter doesn't start until February. And it should have started in November. like We should have had snow like in December, November, December. We only just are getting snow.
00:01:40
The Amazing Rewatch
But then it stays like 90 degrees until like the end of October. Yeah. so i mean I always thought that. not Like even before COVID, like it doesn't make any sense in Utah that spring starts in March because we always get snow until
Daylight Savings Time Debate
00:01:55
The Amazing Rewatch
April. April May.
00:01:56
The Amazing Rewatch
And so, yeah, we need to add, shorten all the months, add another month, shift them. Who was in charge of all of this? Not a woman.
00:02:09
The Amazing Rewatch
I was trying to explain leap day. to my kids the other day. and they're like, why do we have a leap day? And I'm like, because the earth rotates just slightly enough that – or like too little or is it too much?
00:02:22
The Amazing Rewatch
I don't know. I don't i can't – I don't know all the logic to it. But because Evie, my oldest, was born in a leap year on like the first part of March. So she could have been a leap day baby.
00:02:35
The Amazing Rewatch
And I was like, do I want that or not? It would be kind of cool but also –
00:02:41
The Amazing Rewatch
Not. yeah Like, I don't know if I would like to have a leap birthday, a leap day birthday. Yeah. Yeah. i'm ah There was a girl in my class who did and I just like remember her name. I haven't spoken to her. Yeah. Hardly in school and never since school, but I just like remember. Yeah. So it like stands out and everybody was, you know, like, oh that's a cool birthday to have.
00:03:03
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. So and when we turned 16, she was like four. Yeah. Yeah. ah Yeah. So anyways, if everything was 28 days, it would be so easy to track everything. It'd be like on the second Monday of the month.
00:03:18
The Amazing Rewatch
You know, like it always be the same. month. Yeah. Every. Yeah.
00:03:24
The Amazing Rewatch
That kind just makes me mad. yeah And then no daylight savings. Oh my gosh. Yeah. They need to get rid of that anyway. And I was always in the camp of like, get rid of daylight savings, but put us always on daylight saving time so that it's like later in the afternoon or later in the evening that it gets dark. But then I was thinking like, there are some mornings that are just like so dark.
00:03:52
The Amazing Rewatch
And if it was an hour later, it would be dark even later. So I really don't care. Put us on either time, but just stop changing it. Yeah. Agreed.
00:04:03
The Amazing Rewatch
but That's coming up. Isn't that next Sunday?
Church Timing Challenges with Kids
00:04:05
The Amazing Rewatch
i think so. Like not tomorrow, but... And it's the harder one. Yes. it's It's better because then it is... Lighter. Later. But it's the harder one to adjust to because you have less sleep that night. And then it just like, yeah, it feels so much harder. We don't have church until 1.30 though now. So it won't affect That's hard on its own. Yeah.
00:04:29
The Amazing Rewatch
I would never make it. it's By 1.30, I have a lot of reasons I've come up with. hope to go Yeah. It's like, man, it's my nap time It's funny to like see all the kids that you just know that it's their nap time and they are...
00:04:44
The Amazing Rewatch
upset yeah or falling asleep and all the parents are just like, yeah, yeah that's
Acronym Brainstorming for Monthly Report
00:04:50
The Amazing Rewatch
not fun. But um I was thinking because we have kind of done like the monthly report, R-E-P-O-R-T. Last month, we just kind of like did like a chit chat, but I was like, what is like a different acronym that we could use?
00:05:05
The Amazing Rewatch
Because we always talk about watching, reading, reading,
00:05:09
The Amazing Rewatch
so that's what w and r what's a word that has like world watching obsessing reading loving
'Traders' Show Recap & Character Dynamics
00:05:19
The Amazing Rewatch
what starts with the d that we could like
00:05:22
The Amazing Rewatch
our world report we can call it that we can make up our own thing the what is it is it is it a
00:05:29
The Amazing Rewatch
um Adjective? Or like watching or is that a verb? Watching, reading. Those would be verbs. Like something that we're doing that starts with a D. Watching, obsessing, reading.
00:05:41
The Amazing Rewatch
Loving. What's the difference between obsessing and loving? I don't know. Learning. may Hey, that's a good one. World. D, D. think about it. Something about like don't like.
00:05:54
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah.
00:05:56
The Amazing Rewatch
dislike disliking yeah okay we'll end on a bad note yeah that's what the people are here for anyway okay what are you watching world report well i just finished traders yesterday yeah so if you have not finished traders turn this off for skip forward 10 minutes or less yeah less five minutes i was like 10 minutes that's long time four minutes skip forward four minutes I kind of feel like it ended exactly how I thought it was going to end. Yeah.
00:06:27
The Amazing Rewatch
But also I'm like, how dare Rob make me root for a straight white man? yes Like, how come I wanted him to win over like Tara Lipinski? Because he was good. Yeah.
00:06:39
The Amazing Rewatch
He was really good traitor. I doubted it for a second because, okay, Tara got it wrong every single time. But at the very end, she was like, it's Eric and Rob. It's Eric and Rob. And I was like, yeah but now nobody trusts you.
00:06:54
The Amazing Rewatch
yeah And now nobody believes you and like doesn't. Because you said, like every time you were wrong, you were like, oh, I was wrong. Oh, I was wrong. I'm always wrong. I was wrong. Don't listen to me. I'm always wrong. yeah And in the end, you're like,
00:07:06
The Amazing Rewatch
I know exactly who it is. Yeah. And at one point she said to, who was, Maura. She said to Maura, trust me. And I'm like, yeah why would she trust you? Yeah. But she should have played it with Maura. Like, let's win this for like the girls. Let's be the last two girls and do this. Like, I think it was pretty obvious that Maura was a faithful. Like, I just don't think she could be a traitor.
00:07:31
The Amazing Rewatch
um feel like Tara probably couldn't be a traitor. But maybe they just like.
00:07:36
The Amazing Rewatch
underestimated her. Like, we don't think she could be a traitor, maybe that's why she is. I feel like Mark's, um, his getting murdered, his murder was so anticlimactic. Yeah. Like he didn't get enough fanfare of leaving the show. It was just like, he's like coming back from, on yeah, coming back from like the week long break or whatever. And it's like, oh, Mark's in the coffin. Bye, Mark.
00:08:04
The Amazing Rewatch
Let's move on. Yeah. I did not that. Have you seen his Instagrams after this? They're hilarious. Yeah. He's like, I'm never running on live TV again. Or not live TV, but national TV. Yes. He did a good job. I think he has more personality than he showed.
00:08:18
The Amazing Rewatch
um But it's hard when there's so many personnel so many strong personalities. I know. like Some of those people that got murdered and like banished, like the first – week. It's like I don't really know them at all. yeah And that's just how it goes. But like if one thing would have been different, how long would you have lasted? And would this have been completely different? so It was a good season though. yeah I liked it.
00:08:45
The Amazing Rewatch
and We haven't had a trade or win since season one. Yeah. so That was good. um So watching that and then the new Well, I was obsessed with the Olympics
Olympics Love & Sportsmanship Moments
00:08:56
The Amazing Rewatch
this month. Yes. I watched them so much. Yes.
00:08:59
The Amazing Rewatch
And they were so good. I know. I said last night, actually, I sat on the couch and I was like, I miss the Olympics. yeah What do I watch? I know when they were done, I'm like, Olivia, the Olympics are over now. And she's like, oh, good.
00:09:12
The Amazing Rewatch
You can pay attention to me again. Yeah. she We always watch her show and what she wants. So for like these two weeks, we watched my show and it was like so hard for her. Yeah. There was one time we were watching the finale of the finale run but the finale run of like women's moto monobob no it was snowboard cross oh the snowboard cross final okay and it was like four women and the youngest one who they didn't think was going to win actually won and all three other women were like
00:09:51
The Amazing Rewatch
hugging her and cheering for her and so happy for her and stuff. And I started crying. Olivia's like, are you crying? i was like, yes. Like, this is what's so great about the Olympics is like, they're so proud of her, even though they didn't win. They're so proud of her. And just like all these women supporting each other and just so happy for all the winners, even if they didn't win. That means that's like what it means to be a good sport and like a good winner and not a sore loser and stuff. She was like, I just didn't.
00:10:15
The Amazing Rewatch
She was like, I didn't think you were going to cry. i was like, I just love the Olympics so much. It's crazy to me. And I went to work and I'm like, are you guys watching the Olympics? They're like, oh, I forgot that was on. I'm like, what? Every time the Olympics are on, I'm so obsessed and love watching it. just don't understand how people don't even... Yeah, don't even... It's still a running joke between me and Jeff. So like the year that we got married was 2014. So that was, I feel like Vancouver Olympics, maybe? The Winter Olympics. So we got married in January and that started like a month later. And we were...
00:10:48
The Amazing Rewatch
We were driving around like thinking about going to a movie or going to dinner or whatever. And all of a sudden were like, just driving down this busy road in Orem. And I go, and he like slams on the brakes and he's like, what? And I'm like, it's the Olympics opening ceremony tonight. We can't go to the movies. And he's like, Oh my gosh, I thought I was going to hit somebody or.
Winter Olympics in Utah & Participation Dreams
00:11:11
The Amazing Rewatch
ah So we still joke about that. It's the Olympics opening ceremony. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's a big deal and I love them and I can't wait for them to come back to Utah and,
00:11:22
The Amazing Rewatch
i feel like, I mean, that's in eight years from now. And if life circumstances are where they are, that we could like try to be in the opening ceremonies like grandma did. We should try to do that. I think we should. I think we should try to be in the Olympics. I think in eight years we could learn curling.
00:11:43
The Amazing Rewatch
For real. I'm not kidding. It doesn't look that hard. I'm sure there's way more technicality to lot of strategy. and Yeah. But we could do it. We could do like home advantage at the Salt Lake City 2034 Olympics sister curling team. You know, i mean, I've been saying this to Jeff and the kids too the whole time. I'm like,
00:12:05
The Amazing Rewatch
we live in Utah. A lot of these Olympians like live or train in Utah. I was like, I wonder how much, because I know like figure skating is like, you got to start when you're young and you got to have a lot of money.
00:12:19
The Amazing Rewatch
But like something like bobsled or luge or skeleton, like I wonder how much of an investment it is to be one of those athletes. And I think a lot of like track athletes cross over to those like the sliding sports yeah that makes sense i'm not a track athlete i'm not saying i could do this but i'm like could see evie like evie and cc be like a like a doubles luge team well how old will cc be in the 2034 olympics
00:12:53
The Amazing Rewatch
I think Evie graduates in 2034. So she would be like 18 and Cece would be like 16. Okay. So Evie can be doing luge and me and you will um be on a curling team.
00:13:07
The Amazing Rewatch
Okay. And then we'll be on TV a lot. And then we'll be on the amazing race. Just kidding. We should be on the amazing race. I was like, we have to wait. We can't wait eight years to be on the amazing race.
00:13:17
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. um I think we could do it though. okay If there's anywhere to learn curling, it's here. Yeah. Somebody here knows how learn. Like where – facility? is that like at the the Kerns, like that the Olympic Oval in Kerns? that's Seven Peaks in Provo.
00:13:33
The Amazing Rewatch
I don't know. Let's find out. have have just not been able to get much into curling. I watched it a little bit, but it's not that exciting. I like was on more than any other I know. It was like from day one to day 14.
00:13:47
The Amazing Rewatch
Because there's so many – it's like – Teams of four, teams of two. Women, men, mixed. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So they, it was on a lot. And there was that big, like the Canadian cheating scandal. Yeah.
00:14:02
The Amazing Rewatch
So I was like, oh. That's crazy. That's crazy to deny cheating when you're on national television. I know. Like everybody saw you. That's so embarrassing. Yeah. To be caught cheating when you said you didn't cheat.
00:14:13
The Amazing Rewatch
Anyway, okay. And then Bridgerton. That's the other thing I was – Me and Jeff, we watched all four episodes last night and didn't go to bed until like 2.30 in the morning. Oh, I am still watching the first half. I'm almost done with the first half, but still didn't watch the second half. So don't tell me. Okay. but I like the second half like 1,000 times better than the first half. good. Because the first half is taking me a long time to get through, obviously. Yeah. The second half is way better.
00:14:36
The Amazing Rewatch
First half, I'm like – I have to watch it because I have to finish the show. Yeah. i have to get through it. Okay. After the
'Bridgerton' Pacing & Book Comparisons
00:14:44
The Amazing Rewatch
first half, I was like, this is probably the bottom of my ranking. And like after the second half, I'm like, actually, I think it might be like top couple.
00:14:53
The Amazing Rewatch
Really? Maybe not my favorite favorite, but it's up there. Yeah. I like it more than I thought I would. so More than Colin and Penelope? Yeah. Yeah.
00:15:04
The Amazing Rewatch
So yeah. Okay. And then what was next? Oh, obsessing. whatever we I mean, we already talked about the Olympics forever, but. Well, Harry Styles' new album comes out on Friday.
00:15:17
The Amazing Rewatch
so I'm sure I'm going to be obsessing over that. But he was on the Royal Court, Brittany Broski's Royal Court on YouTube. Do you know Brittany Bruschi? I know she's like a podcaster. Yeah. But I don't know much about her. And she does an interview thing called Royal Court. It's like just a really funny like interview type thing.
00:15:37
The Amazing Rewatch
And Harry was on it. And he was so cute. Just so good. it just He's so cute. I love him so much. So I'm obsessing obsessing over Harry Styles right now. Okay.
00:15:48
The Amazing Rewatch
I don't feel like I'm obsessing over of
00:15:53
The Amazing Rewatch
I have been... oh but the next one is reading, so I won't say what I've been... Yeah. I can't think of anything that I've been like tuned into besides the TV shows we already talked about or the books that I will talk about in the next section. so Okay.
00:16:10
The Amazing Rewatch
Reading. book hu book book blowh but bla bla bla Book club book this month was Wuthering Heights. Oh, yes. We had a conversation about this. And I started listening to it. Okay. I had started listening to it last recap. Yes. And I was only like 30 minutes in. didn't love It was hard. Yeah.
00:16:28
The Amazing Rewatch
I DNF'd it. Oh. And I feel like that's blasphemy. It's like a classic. Yeah. I did not like it. i was like forcing myself to listen.
00:16:41
The Amazing Rewatch
And after every single chapter, I had to read what actually happened in that chapter. i got halfway through and I'm like, I don't like any of the characters. Yeah. And I don't like the story and I don't like listening to it.
00:16:53
The Amazing Rewatch
I don't like it. I have other things to do. Yeah. So I didn't finish it. And i saw the movie. Yeah. And I like the movie, but I like the movie just for like its own thing.
00:17:07
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. And I feel like, I mean, I haven't watched the movie or read the book, but i people have been saying that it's just like, you kind of have to separate the two because they're not. Yeah. And even from this, I only read half the book, I could see in that amount of time a lot of stuff that they left out of the movie.
00:17:25
The Amazing Rewatch
They say it's Wuthering Heights for smooth-brained people. i like that. Sometimes I want to have a smooth brain. Yeah. And that's okay. I somebody say that they hated the movie, too. They're like, the characters are so unlikable.
00:17:40
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. They're just awful people. That's how they are in the book too. I'm like, this girl is a spoiled brat and she's ruining everybody's lives around her.
00:17:52
The Amazing Rewatch
And somebody used to slap her across the face and tell her to get it together. And they're so toxic. They're so toxic. They literally ruin everyone's lives around them.
00:18:05
The Amazing Rewatch
And they're like, and people are like, I want Heathcliff. I love Heathcliff. I want my own Heathcliff. like, that's terrible. Yeah.
00:18:16
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. Like when people say, i want to love like Romeo and Juliet. I'm like, what? Yeah. and like yeah They were 14 and they killed each other basically. like i want to love like Catherine and Heathcliff.
00:18:29
The Amazing Rewatch
That's like the worst version of love I could imagine. And she marries a guy who's like rich and kind. and she has like a great life for a couple of years and Heathcliff comes back right at the wrong time and they just ruin everybody's lives.
00:18:49
The Amazing Rewatch
She had everything she ever wanted before that except for Heathcliff. But the costume design was incredible. The set design was incredible. The music was incredible. The cinematography was incredible. Like everything except for the storyline was great.
00:19:05
The Amazing Rewatch
So. Hmm. Yeah, I haven't decided if I will watch it yet. I might just like wait till it comes on streaming because I'm sure it will soon. But I am reading. i can't even remember what I talked about.
00:19:18
The Amazing Rewatch
i think A River Enchanted was what we were were reading for book
Fantasy & Fan Fiction Book Discussion
00:19:23

club. And I finished it and I did like it. It's kind of like a...
00:19:28
The Amazing Rewatch
It's not ever like specified that it's Scotland, but you can tell it's like a Scottish-based fantasy world. But But yeah, the book was pretty good, and there's a sequel.
00:19:40
The Amazing Rewatch
It's like a duology. so one What era is it set in? A vague ancient time. They like have like magic and... like um It's not like a modern at all.
00:19:55
The Amazing Rewatch
Nice. one The main character is like a bard. so like that. Yeah. I'm going to add it to my Goodreads. A River Enchanted. And then I think the second one is a Fire.
00:20:08
The Amazing Rewatch
I can't remember. Something about A Fire. So i read that one. And then i just finished Yesterday. Carrie Soto is Back. Have you read that one? No, but I've read like all of her other books. I just haven't read that one.
00:20:23
The Amazing Rewatch
Was it good? um Yeah. It was like a... kind of hard to explain because it's like about tennis and it's just like there was a lot of tennis talk.
00:20:35
The Amazing Rewatch
So it was interesting because I don't really know much about tennis, but it feels like there wasn't a lot of like actual story. It was just like a lot of talking like a recap of the tennis matches that sounds boring yeah it wasn't my favorite but I did like it and I finished it in like three days so yeah her books are easy to read like quicker reads atmosphere her book atmosphere did you read that one um no i haven't read any of her her other ones oh that one's really good and her one um the seven husbands of evelyn hugo yeah that one's really like a popular one and daisy jones and the six yeah i haven't read that one either but that one's good too um i'm reading germany fan fiction another one another one this one's called secrets and masks
00:21:29
The Amazing Rewatch
It's really long, but it's been really good. The beginning, like, it was just so recommended. In the beginning, I was like, this is not good. But you just had to keep going, and then it got really good.
00:21:40
The Amazing Rewatch
And I'm like 80% done with it. And very interested to see how it ends. But it's like another Germini where it's like the Voldemort didn't die at the Battle of Hogwarts. Like the war continued on for like 10 more years.
00:22:23
The Amazing Rewatch
But it's so crazy because it's like, there's so much death and killing. Like, they talk about, like, like at one point, Draco's like, I've killed probably 10,000 people by myself, you know? And, like, the Muggle army has gotten involved in the war because...
00:22:38
The Amazing Rewatch
like the Muggle world is being affected because the war has been like all consuming and stuff. it's like, literally like every battle is like hundreds and hundreds of deaths. And i'm like, at this point, you've made death so normal, so much death that it actually doesn't even matter.
00:22:55
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. But this is not obviously a published book. and i'm But it is going to be an a published book in the next year. and again, I don't know how they're going to change it to work out yeah like the last one was anyway secrets and masks has been pretty good okay i probably won't read it i i know you harry potter but it's like i read the books a few times i've watched the movies a few times i like the world but i'm not going to invest i think i like about the germany fan fictions is like
00:23:36
The Amazing Rewatch
I think JK Rowling, her world building was very basic and her story was a pretty basic story. Like it was an incredible story at the time, but the amount of like world building and fantasy stories that we've had like since then, it's pretty basic. Mm-hmm.
00:23:53
The Amazing Rewatch
and Well, not even since then. like There was like Dune before her and stuff like that. But she could have done so much more with these books and characters. yeah But also, I very much enjoy them for what they are. But the thing I like about Jermaine is that she's set up so much of this world that like as when the story continues, you're are you're already so invested in these characters. Yeah, and you like have the and you know the foundation of what it is, and then you can... You know their history and like their traits and characteristics and stuff. And so then you can continue with more world building and more like like smarter writing almost.
00:24:29
The Amazing Rewatch
That's what I like about it. What did we decide on for Elle?
00:24:36
The Amazing Rewatch
Learning. Learning.
Diet Focus: Fiber vs. Protein
00:24:38
The Amazing Rewatch
What am I Learning. What are you learning? I'm going to go back into my... Oh, I'm learning that nobody is consuming enough fiber.
00:24:49
The Amazing Rewatch
Everybody is so obsessed with protein. Yeah, fiber is going to be the new protein. Yes, but it should be. Like, colon cancer is bad. And it's becoming more and more... It's, like, increasing so much in our generation. Like, younger and younger. Younger and younger and more extreme cases and Like, we really all need to be eating more fiber.
00:25:11
The Amazing Rewatch
And we're so obsessed with protein for so long. Everything is protein rich, protein rich, this protein popcorn, like protein, everything you could possibly think of. Like, we need fiber.
00:25:25
The Amazing Rewatch
So. I'm trying to drink, like, Benafiber every morning yeah and increase my fiber because I really don't want to get colon cancer. And also, i just want to be healthier.
00:25:35
The Amazing Rewatch
Is that what causes colon cancer, though? Not causes it, but it helps have healthier gut.
00:25:43
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. Can you...
00:25:46
The Amazing Rewatch
So yeah, eat more fiber. Okay. Yeah, – because last year, my ah like, the kids got their tonsils out and Cece had that hospital stay and we hit our deductible and our out-of-pocket max and I was like, like okay, what can we do?
00:26:03
The Amazing Rewatch
that Like, what are some preventative things that we could do that we don't have to pay for now that we have hit our deductible and everything? And, like, I went to my primary care doctor and i i got, like, a women's checkup. I was due for that anyway. Yeah.
00:26:19
The Amazing Rewatch
I was like, you know, could i could I get a colonoscopy? Like, can I get a mammogram even though it's early? And they were like, no, unless you have a like a strong family history or you're showing signs, we don't recommend testing early. And I was like, why not?
00:26:34
The Amazing Rewatch
I know. Why don't you just test everybody? Yeah. Yeah. So they wouldn't do it.

The Amazing Rewatch
Even though ah don't we have a family history of both of those, of breast cancer and colon cancer. so Colon cancer? Did grandpa have colon cancer?
00:26:48
The Amazing Rewatch
thought had testicular cancer. I thought he had both. I don't know. i that was only I don't remember. But yeah, you should you would think you would be able to do breast cancer if your maternal grandmother had breast cancer.
00:27:01
The Amazing Rewatch
Especially but like with my surgery coming up too. I was like, should I get it done before? I get my surgery. no And they were like, no, but you can still do after.
00:27:11
The Amazing Rewatch
And I'm not that far away from 40. I'm 37 now. I wish I have just done that. But yeah now we're in a new year and we'll have to pay for everything again. So Cece started coughing last night and she's like, I need my inhaler. And I was like, no.
00:27:26
The Amazing Rewatch
We've done actually pretty well with um like keeping her asthma under control. That can be what I'm learning. I have learned about allergy shots over the process of like doing her immunology. It's called immunology, I guess.
00:27:42
The Amazing Rewatch
So you start with like the like the prick test where they like poke your back with like a small dose of all the common allergens and then they measure how allergic you are to them.
00:27:55
The Amazing Rewatch
And then they make your allergy serum based on what you're allergic to. And they put like traces of those things in the serum. And then they start with yellow and they do like 0.5. So it's just like a tiny, tiny, tiny bit that they give you a shot.
00:28:15
The Amazing Rewatch
And then you have to go twice a week for Like 22 shots. So it ends up being like 12 12 weeks basically.
00:28:30
The Amazing Rewatch
And then after that, and they just like move up, they go yellow and then they go green and then they go blue and then they go red or whatever. I don't remember the colors, but just like you're getting a little bit more of the allergen in your system every time.
00:28:46
The Amazing Rewatch
And then after the initial like 25 or 22 shots, then you start going once a week for three weeks. And then once every three weeks for three shots.
00:28:58
The Amazing Rewatch
And then every six weeks for three shots. And then it's like every six months until the doctor says that you are not allergic to those things anymore.
00:29:10
The Amazing Rewatch
So, and I feel like they're working because like, She usually has kind of a hard time around Oliver. And the last couple of times she's been here, she hasn't come home and like been itchy. Yeah.
00:29:22
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. I think it's working. Yeah. It better be because it's like – It's not hard, but going to the doctor that's 15 minutes away twice a week yeah and having to sit there for 30 minutes after the shot. Like, if we could just go and get the shot and, you know, we have to sit there for 30 minutes and make sure that there's no allergic reaction. And also, i have – because ah We've had a few appointments that we can go before school, but it's usually after school. So I have Olivia with me. So I have all three kids with me and they're sitting in the doctor's office and they have to sit there for 30 minutes and they're so bored. And I'm like, you guys, stop talking.
00:30:00
The Amazing Rewatch
but yeah So I'm so glad we we only have one of the initial shots left. And then we start going to the more spread out schedule and I'm like, hallelujah. But yeah it'll be like life changing for her though. I know.
00:30:15
The Amazing Rewatch
yeah It's crazy we have that science, like that technology. yeah Like that's so cool that we can do stuff like that. Yeah. And luckily she's never had any like food allergies. She did have like a weird reaction to kiwi one time, but she's like eaten kiwi before that and didn't have a reaction. So...
00:30:35
The Amazing Rewatch
But food allergies can come out of nowhere, even if you haven't had them. But like, I can't imagine having a kid allergic to like peanuts. know. That would be so hard. would. So we don't have any food allergies. She's allergic to animals and the outside, basically.
00:30:51
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. Oh, happy things. Yeah. And we just got our water softener installed, which should help with her skin issues and like her eczema and stuff. So hopefully just like all of these things that we're doing is going to be a better – not Not that she's, like, suffering, you know, we, like, try to maintain it and everything, but just, like, a better quality of life for her where she's not, like, struggling to breathe and itchy all the time and stuff. So, hopefully.
Gratitude for Modern Living Conditions
00:31:19
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah, wouldn't that suck if you lived in, like, the 1800s and you had hay fever and you lived on a farm? Yeah. and You could never bath and you didn't have any medication. and you just couldn't breathe all the time. Yeah. Yeah.
00:31:31
The Amazing Rewatch
I don't think I would like to live in those times. Yeah. Yeah. I like living in. in. For a lot of reasons, I like living in. Yes. Yeah. like For some reasons.
00:31:43
The Amazing Rewatch
yeah I look at, like, things that are going on in the world and But things have been going on in the world like this all the time. They just didn't know about it in other places. Things have been happening throughout history like this all throughout history.
00:31:58
The Amazing Rewatch
But it hasn't been right in our face every second of every day. so Yeah. Our brains are not meant to handle the type of information download that we get.
00:32:07
The Amazing Rewatch
Oh, that's another book I read this month. i've I've been listening to it for a few months. It's called Sapiens by his name's Yuval Noah Harari. And it's like, I like to listen to it. It kind of sounds like a long form podcast, but it's basically about the history of sapiens through all time. Yeah.
00:32:25
The Amazing Rewatch
It's so fascinating. Like everything of everything from like evolution has led to everything. Like everything is connected and we're all just,
00:32:36
The Amazing Rewatch
We're it just all outcomes of evolution. It's just crazy. Yeah. But also he kind of just says like we live we live in the best time of history right now. it's kind of seems hard but it's seems like the best time you could ever live right yeah now.
00:32:53
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. Yeah. We've got a lot of technology and our lives are pretty easy. Yeah.
Travel Safety Concerns & Misconceptions
00:32:59
The Amazing Rewatch
Compared to you. The past.
00:33:01
The Amazing Rewatch
And thinking of like we live in a day where we can use science to like take pills to change our brain chemistry. Like you've just never been able to do that. Yeah. You know, people just just had to live through all this.
00:33:13
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. I'm pretty sure our last sister session when we talked about King George and like. Yeah. They're not really quite sure what ailment he had, but. probably like bipolar or something like that and like now he could fix it yeah and back then he just was mad king george and everybody was like oh the king's crazy and yeah
00:33:36
The Amazing Rewatch
and so yeah lots of learning this month i guess i still think about that all the time um all right and then disliking
00:33:48
The Amazing Rewatch
i am I am disliking what is going on in Mexico for a lot of reasons. Like it is, i think it's kind of like the worst of it is past. Like the thing that happened in Puerto Vallarta with like the the drug cartel leader getting killed and like things kind of going crazy. And so for the people that live there and like are living through this, that is scary for them to be like locals. Yeah.
00:34:15
The Amazing Rewatch
And all of my travelers are like just really, really overreacting. And I get that they want to stay safe and they want to keep their kids safe. But it's like your trip is not for six months and it is on the other side of the country. Why are you asking me?
00:34:36
The Amazing Rewatch
But like just the things that people say, they're like, will this drug situation extend beyond Puerto Vallarta? And I'm like, let me call the president. I don't know. Or like, will this be over by then? like I don't know. i wish if I had a crystal ball, I promise you i would be a lot richer than I am right now. So, yeah.
00:34:56
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. And just people overreacting about everything. i I vented to like Sadie and or my other sister and my mom about another lady that wanted to cancel her cruise to the Caribbean because of the situation in Puerto Vallarta.
00:35:14
The Amazing Rewatch
i know. And people are always always like – I remember it was – we had a trip to Disneyland planned like after the last election or something. It was during – During the last election. Oh, wait. No. some I had something planned, like, in the November after the election. Okay. And I had a coworker, like, it was several months away, and I said something, and he's like, if we're even a country by then, if you're even allowed to travel by then, and stuff, I'm like, we can't not live.
00:35:43
The Amazing Rewatch
We have to keep living. Yeah. We have to keep enjoying life. Like, we can't just put our lives on hold. that are just, like, so doom and gloom about everything. and like Yeah. Yeah. And like I had a coworker, her and her sister were going to go to New York City for Christmas. and They'd been planning it for like a couple of years and she was really looking forward to it And every time she talked about it, he'd be like, that's the last place I would go. And after the election, i don't even know if you're going to come home. It's like, it's New York City.
00:36:10
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. like Like it's not a different country. Come home. What do you mean? Come to Utah from New York City. Like, and he was just like a miserable person that was just. Yeah. And I'm like, okay, well, you be miserable and I'm going to go have fun. Yeah. You can stay home if you want to, but don't rain on my parade. Mm-hmm.
00:36:26
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. It just...
00:36:27
The Amazing Rewatch
ah Yeah. and when people, like, you know, if they don't grow up traveling and or ah just kind of, like, live a more sheltered life and they just they just don't know.
Cultural Exposure through Travel
00:36:39
The Amazing Rewatch
And everything is scary. But... That's why you travel to learn that. Yeah. The world. Honestly, I feel like that that just traveling and being amongst people of different cultures and different mindsets and everything has really opened up my world and my view of life and everything. And, um,
00:37:04
The Amazing Rewatch
I have forgotten like seven things that I was going to say today. We've recorded – this is our third podcast that we've recorded today. We've had a very ah productive day. Yeah. It's getting But my brain is getting tired. I know. I'm like, I want to eat and – Disliking. What am I disliking?
00:37:19
The Amazing Rewatch
I'm disliking looking around Okay.
00:37:27
The Amazing Rewatch
We'll have – now that we know that this is our – like if we keep this format, we can like make notes yeah throughout the month and have better ideas and not just be like scrambling for something. But this is our first.
Calorie Burning vs. Consuming Dilemma
00:37:39
The Amazing Rewatch
I just like that when you are at the gym – I was at the gym today and I did like the stair climber for 15 minutes. And it felt like six hours. And I looked – instead I had burned 72 calories. What? What?
00:37:53
The Amazing Rewatch
And then I come home and eat a cookie that probably was like three times that in seconds. 200 calories. Yeah. I hate how long it takes to burn calories. That is really annoying.
00:38:05
The Amazing Rewatch
So, yeah. Working out to eat. Don't like it. Yeah. Should work out to feel good about your endurance and health and stuff. Not just because I ate a cookie, but.
00:38:17
The Amazing Rewatch
Yeah. Oh my gosh. We're circling back to the Olympics because speaking of endurance, I had many conversations with like some of my friends and with Jeff and it's like, If I were choosing a winter sport, cross-country skiing would be the last one. When they cross the finish line, they like they collapse in death.
00:38:38
The Amazing Rewatch
Sad. and ah like just like They don't want to be there. and I'm like, why would you do that? Then that new like the ski mountaineering one, that new event, I was like, no.
00:38:49
The Amazing Rewatch
No way. They look They look like they're going to die when they cross that finish line. And like some of those races are several hours, like the relays that are like 30 laps per person and they have four people.
Endurance in Sports: Why Choose the Grueling?
00:39:03
The Amazing Rewatch
And so but I think I watched one and I was kind of like going back and forth and I'm like, this is still going. And I swear every time the the commentators are like one lap to go and i'm like, okay, okay, it's almost done. I'm going to see who's going to win. And then they switch people. Yeah.
00:39:21
The Amazing Rewatch
I would also dislike that sport. Yes. So good for them. They probably have... The best endurance of any sport. Yeah. So I don't have that.
00:39:31
The Amazing Rewatch
I don't think I will ever have that. I'm working on having better endurance, but like running even a half a mile is hard for me. Yeah. So anyway.
00:39:43
The Amazing Rewatch
My brain's done. Yeah. I'm ready to... i don't know what I'm going to do. Go eat something and just chill out. so Hope you guys have had a great February. Have a great March. Our season 18 will be dropping on the first Wednesday of March. It is an all-star season.
00:40:03
The Amazing Rewatch
