Yes, in Zermatt. And Zev and Justin were the first team last episode. So they're the first team to depart at 6.54 a.m.

and the clue says make your way to air rescue helicopter and sign up for a helicopter time leaving in five minute intervals before taking off into the unknown where they'll receive their next clue.

And Kent thinks that they're like... discriminating against them and don't want to pick them up on based on their looks and he says he wants to punch somebody right now and um vixen's trying to him to stay positive and stuff like that so like gary and mallory get in a cab before kent and vixen do wind yeah and they end up passing them flight time and big easy almost oh did as well but

In that order. And when their helicopters land, they get a clue, and the clue is a detour, and the choices are search or rescue. So these are two ways of bringing a stranded mountaineer to safety.

Search is they have to brave extreme wind conditions and use an avalanche beacon to locate a training dummy that's been buried somewhere on the glacier. Once they've located the dummy, they must dig it up to receive the next clue. And then rescue is they use a unique device specifically designed for crevasses to rescue a stranded mountaineer.

One team member must repel into the narrow crevasse. Crevasse? I don't know. Crevasse? It's like, yeah, crevice. Crevasse. don't know. Crevasse. And clip the ah rope to like the rescue line Clip, whatever.

Like searching for something when you have an option of just like getting something physical, just like do it and get it done. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. But Zev and Justin choose search. Jen and Keisha choose rescue though.

And Zev and Justin start and they seem to find the dummy pretty easily. And so I was like, okay, it must not have been that bad. But then the the actual hard part started, which was digging in the snow.

And they're all kind of doing this at the same time. and We have a lot of... kent ah Kent is the one that goes down in the... Into the crevasse. Yes. and Which is great because Vixen is way stronger than him. Yeah. and But he's like yelling at her so much and um all the teams are kind of just like, okay, wow. And Zev and Justin... Like Gary and Mallory and Zev and Justin, it's it's really deep in the snow. And it looks really cold and it's kind of windy. And you can't tell exactly where. So like they find the spot and they start digging and it could be like,

the very top of the dummy. Yeah. Like the head or the feet. So yeah, they like kind of don't really even know how far and where exactly they have to dig. And it, it seems like it's two or three feet under the snow.

Yeah. and so Gary and Mallory, they find like the head first and takes time to find the feet. But yeah. So, um, Keisha and Jen end up fishing the detour first. Um,

And the clue says take a helicopter to the ski resort and find a train to take you down the mountain to find Le Petit Servan to find your next clue. yes Then Kent and Vixen finish and Fly Time and Big Easy finish. So that half of the detour is definitely the easier one by far.

Zev and Justin find like the body, but they can't, they haven't found the legs yet. And Gary and Mallory are trying to get their legs out too. Yeah. Like when they pull the top of the dummy, it like comes apart. So they have to dig and get the legs out. Yeah.

But Gary Mallory finished. Zev and Justin are the last to finish the detour. Yeah. And they were the first there. And Justin is getting pretty frustrated with Zev saying, like, he's not helping very much. And Zev is like, I'm trying. and And it looks really cold. They've got, like, snow stuck to their face and in their beards. And yeah that does not look pleasant.

And it says, using use exacting Swiss methods, which include using Okay, so they're making a chocolate gnome. Yes. Who wants to make a new friend? Yeah.

yeah Create a Travelocity roaming gnome entirely out of chocolate using traditional Swiss methods such as using snow as a cooling agent. And get approved by the head chocolatier to get your next clue. And the they have people like helping them and like walking them through the process the whole time. Because it does take quite a while.

yeah It's a very – it's not hard, but it's a lengthy roadblock because there's many steps – um But Vixen, Flight Time, Mallory, and Jen are the ones that are doing the roadblock um for now.

And they're like – they get in there and they start and the teammates get to just sit there and watch and eat chocolate. yeah and um So they have to take – take chocolate paint like edible paint chocolate and paint the colors of the gnome on the outside of or I guess the inside of this mold and have it like in the right layer so they have to have like a black eyeball and then they have to have a skin colored face and then they have to have like you know and they have like a blue coat and shoes and

hair, all that stuff. Yeah. They have to do it in the right order. And then once that is all painted, they fill like they clamp them together and fill the inside with chocolate. But so there's like two halves of this mold and they, um, they'll paint like a little bit on one and then go put it in the fridge to cool while they do the other side. And then they keep switching back and forth.

They have like a fridge that have to switch back and forth. And all the teams kind of have the same fridge, but they're putting it on different shelves. Yeah. And they they all have the same molds too. And like everything looks similar. So I don't exactly know what happened. But we did see Vixen put hers in the fridge and it specifically said, okay, mine's on the bottom shelf.

And Kent is like the whole time he's like, Vixen, Vixen, Vixen, do this. Vixen, do that. Vixen. Vixen, do you see that they're all switching in the fridge? Vixen, do you see that they're all – well, he says, do you see they're putting them in the oven? Vixen, they're putting them in the oven. Did you see that? They're putting them in the oven, Vixen. And Vixen's like, I think you mean the fridge and yes and be quiet. And all the people like Mallory comments on it in her little interview like, oh my gosh, like like I could not quite handle that. And also, like, are they allowed to say that?

Still at this point, it seems like they are. They get very strict on it in the future, but not yet, unfortunately. Yeah, because if somebody sitting on the side in later seasons said, do you see that they're putting it in the oven? Even if it's wrong. Yeah.

It's still, like, helping. Yeah. Quote, unquote, helping. um Anyway, so yeah, Vixen puts hers down on, and she says, mine's on the bottom. And then flight time goes to the freezer and can't find his. Mm-hmm.

So he's like, oh, maybe this one on the bottom is mine. And he takes it. And Vixen's like, no, that one's mine. And then Flight Time says, well, then who took mine? And like all of them are like starting to argue. And who stole my thing? And Big Easy is getting real mad. He's like, is this how we're going to do it? Like somebody is going to steal it. And they're all blaming Vixen. And I actually don't think it was her fault.

Yeah, I don't know what happened. It's hard to tell. Yeah. And Zev is like over there kind of his own corner and he says, there's too many cooks in the kitchen. Yeah. um Yeah. So, Flytime just ends up having to use the one that's left over in the freezer and it wasn't as far along as the one that he was working on, I think.

And he ends up finishing first still. Yeah, so they get it filled with ah like a runny, a melted chocolate, and then they have to go outside and kind of put it in like a snowbank and wait for it to chill. Takes 30 minutes. Yeah.

So it's, that's like a... a long wait when you're rushing in a race yeah but at least everybody has to do it too so like kent and big easy at this time are have been like fighting back and forth like they're in the kitchen because they think their teammates right and defending them and stuff but um vixen ends up finishing her the detour first I don't know how she was able to... Well, because once they take them out of the molds, they have to, like, touch up paint, like, the edges and stuff. And she does that faster than flight time.

Okay. And so the the clue here says, teams must make their way on foot... Very important. To this 300-year-old Swiss cabin built below the iconic Matterhorn for the pit stop of this Lake of the Race.

And flight time finishes right after and Beheze says, we're about to go to war. They want to beat Kenton Vixen to the mat real bad.

Yes. And Mallory finishes and Jen finishes and Zev is still outside in the snow. And it's kind of like so sad he's sitting there lonely and everybody's done. When he, like all the other teams were outside waiting for their chocolate to cool when Zev was inside by himself getting his chocolate filled up. And And the chocolatier was like, okay, I'm going to fill it with chocolate and it's going to get heavy. And he's like, thanks, Captain Obvious. Yeah, because before that she was like, hold it stronger. Hold it tighter. Hold it harder. It's going to be heavy. And he was like, okay, okay. And so he's kind of annoyed with her. And then she said that. He's like, thanks, Captain Obvious. And Justin's like, hey, be nice.

um So, Kent and Vixen go outside of this house of this ah chocolate factory and they immediately start looking for a cab. Yeah. and everyone else runs out and they're asking cab drivers for directions, but they're not getting in them.

So all the teams are making their way on foot to the pit stop except for Kent and Vixen. They're in a cab. and some of them see Kent and Vixen get it in the cab and they're like, oh, they're going to get a penalty. And Kent and Vixen see people, lot of people walking, but they just think that they just haven't been picked up or something. Yeah. But Vixen says, i just don't feel good about this. And Kent's like, I just don't care. Yeah. He's like, I have blinders on. I don't care. Yeah. Yeah.

And she keeps saying, like, i don't know This just doesn't feel right. And he says, I just want to win. I just want to be done with this leg. I really don't care. Okay. Yeah. Like, yeah.

And they're like, they're clearly, they know that it's close and they're so anxious, I'm sure. And it is, they are just, bringing out the worst in each other at this moment and they're i vixen is actually like really trying to stay nice i think and kent is just like well he's like and here i am always having to deal with your negative attitude all the time it's just always negative you were the one that started out the day negative and this is a time to not be like the most positive attitude like you guys messed up and you're blaming it on her fully i'd be mad too

So Zev and Justin finish up the detour, even the roadblock, and they're heading there, and they've got directions, and um we can see, like, right when they round the corner of that building. Well, Gary and Mallory are team number three. Oh, yeah.

And they were going to be last. Yeah. So that shows that you never give up. You never know what's going to happen. You always finish the leg as strong and as fast as you can.

Because then Kent and Vixen are team number five and they are eliminated. And the very last thing that Kent says to Vixen was, at least I stay positive no matter what. Yeah. I'm like, are you joking? No.

what no way like she has to carry that team so much yeah like physically and mentally for you and then you say that and emotionally yeah and yeah and yeah and at the end they have a little interview thing and she says i feel bad for the other teams because i'm leaving with the te best teammate ever and they don't get to have him and you could see her face that she was not And I'm like, she did not believe that. So as we know, they don't stay together. They're not together now. I just like, oh I'm exhausted for her. That looks like an exhausting relationship. Yeah. um

But yeah, when he says, I don't know, you read it first. So that's not her full responsibility. Like you read it too. Unless you have like very specifically before the race laid out ground rules, they'll be like, you are the one that will be reading the clues and I will be doing this, which I don't recommend as a strategy. Which would be at crazy. But like the you cannot blame that on her. no Yeah, I was annoyed and i'm I am glad that they are gone. Yeah.
