And Lawrence and Zach leave at 828, not too far behind them. They head to the airport. They're not in... They're not in Jakarta. They're not in the main Yeah, they're in Jojakarta. Yeah.

And so there's not a direct flight from there to Thailand. So they find out that there's more flights leaving Thailand from Jakarta. So they should get to Jakarta first. Yeah. But they don't book anything from Jakarta to Thailand. They just go on the flight to book when they get there.

And they all go to the airport. Air Asia seems like the option that they are all looking at. And they get on flights to Jakarta arriving in Phuket at 6.50. So they get both legs of the flight. Yeah.

So they land at 6.50 and it's dark and they get to the pier. Back to And it doesn't open until 8 a.m. So the team start putting their backpacks in order in front of the entrance of who gets there. And they're all surprised that the boys aren't there yet. Mm-hmm.

And when Andy and Tommy and Lawrence and Zach land, they run out to the taxi stand and they say, two taxis, two taxis. And they show them the address. They're like, do you know where this is? And the taxi driver starts laughing. She's like, yes, I know. Four cars have gone. Yeah. Like four cars already. cars already. And they're like, what?

When? How long ago? And she said an hour. they're pretty bummed. Yeah. They're like, what? But it is an equalizer because the rope. doesn't drop at the pier until 8 a.m and the teams are running down this floating dock and he and tommy are clearly the most athletic of these people because they just like fly down there yeah everybody's kind of struggling yeah and yeah they get their first and they give a clue and it's a detour and the choices are coral reconstruction or beach preparation

So this is um and so in 2004, that tsunami the devastated Phuket and it was one of the deadliest recorded in history. So in this detour, they can choose between two tasks to help rebuild tourism in Phuket.

ah Coral reconstruction is they must construct a coral nursery and load it onto a kayak along with a tray of live coral. They'll paddle out and dive under the water to strategic strategically place the coral into the nursery.

And then beach preparation, they have to collect 20 chairs and 10 umbrellas with the corresponding sticker found in their clue and set them up in the exact standards of the beach club. Example.

They all have to take speedboats to this beach that they're doing both detours at. Andy and Tommy arrive first. And... When you get off of the speedboat on the beach, there's a sign that has an arrow pointing left or right. One for coral, one for beach. And Lawrence Zach had chosen coral, but they go towards the beach chair one. And when they get there, they say, oh, we're already here. Let's just do this one. yeah And the team start yeah doing their detours all around the same time. Andy and Tommy have their thing built, so they have to use like PVC pipe, blue blue PVC pipe to make this rectangular

cube thing with holes that you can put the coral in and you have to put it on your kayak go out into the ocean get off your kayak bring it down and then put your and put it on the bottom of the sea floor and then put your coral in each little hole yeah and it floats because it's made of plastic filled with air and so it's really hard to get down to the bottom of the floor and put all the things in and um to kayak out there. So it's kind of hard. Yeah, it's kind of awkward because they have to like hold the this like tray of coral too and the thing, the the pipe grid, whatever. Yeah. But Andy and Tommy really are athletic and they get it figured out pretty easily. Yeah.

And they put rocks on top of the plastic pipes to hold it down, which was smart. Mm-hmm. um Justin and Jennifer are kind of fighting, like always. it this That was weird. Like, Justin just, like, said something, like, very casually and nicely. And Jennifer's like, I need you to stop raising your voice at me because that's not okay. Yeah, and he wasn't raising his voice. Did he raise his voice at you? Yeah.

I don't think they know it's really a compass. You're supposed to figure it out, head north for 13 minutes, but there's a team that really struggles with that. Yeah. Uh, tightened it together. This is another instance where we see how in shape Bill and Kathy are because they start kayaking back in from the ocean yeah and they pass a couple of teams that are kayaking in. They're like, really? Yeah.

um Andy and Tommy, they get to the other island where the clue is. And when they open it, it's a roadblock and it says he wants to be the king of the hill. And so they have to climb this rock wall to get the next clue.

But it's not an ascension thing. It's really like rock rock climbing. Yeah. And Andy chooses to do it. And Justin and Jennifer finished the detour second, which was surprising.

And Liz and Marie, who were, like, the first to start this detour, were struggling the hardest because their umbrellas kept falling over. And, like, Lawrence and Zach had, like, a really good system. Like, they would both grab onto the umbrella and just, like, slam it into the ground. And their umbrellas were more secure. And, like, Marcus, like, twisted his into the ground and... Yeah, Liz and Maria just kind of setting it on the sand and building the sand up around it. Yeah. Which is not very strong. No. And it keeps flowing away. um
