Exploring Pendulums in Divination

00:00:15
Speaker
the craft. So get in, witches, as we take a deeper look at the divinatory practice of using pendulums.

A Dance-less Air Force Ball Experience

00:00:47
Speaker
So we went to the ball on Friday, the Air Force ball. You looked amazing. Your dress was gorgeous. I did. It was gorgeous, wasn't it? It was so pretty. That shit's boring as hell. LOL. I've never wanted to go.
00:01:02
Speaker
don't go like honestly so i was excited because i love the marine core ball that is the funnest like and i knew it wasn't going to be as fun as a marine core ball but i figured it would be similar
00:01:15
Speaker
There was no dancing at a ball. There was no dancing. How was there no dancing? What the fuck do you do? It's a ball. Literally. like They brought us in or whatever. They did the whole ceremony that they always do. They tell me this, OK? So they're doing the ceremony right. And we're all thinking they're going to start doing the like the Air Force song. No. One of them to recite the Airmen's Creed. Ew! Who remembers that?
00:01:41
Speaker
No one. And it was so funny because like like all these like people were trying to remember the Airmen's Creed. They didn't put it on any screen. So it was just like, ah ah like, his life fight win the only part to at the very end where it's like, I will never falter. Only people remember. And I'm just like, this is wild.
00:02:11
Speaker
yeah I also hate when they do the Air Force song. That thing fucking haunts me. yeah like think Oh my gosh, I love hearing it. Well, I think because the Marine Corps, him is like, they have so much pride in that shit. And they will like scream it. And it's like, Marines are the only prideful military. I think so. I think like the rest of the rest of the branches are just like, we're here.
00:02:41
Speaker
Right. Yeah. We're here. We're here for a paycheck. like yeah That's it. But it was, I mean, the food was mid, the ceremony was kind of mid. And then after they were done, like I was expecting like, okay, because after you're done eating and after the ceremony is done, that's like when you start dancing.
00:02:58
Speaker
Then they bring out like all these different acts that they paid for that are like Okinawan specific, like music and dancing and like the drumming, like Ace of Drumming, like what Avery does and stuff. And it's like, okay, this is cool. But it's like, now I can't mingle with anyone because I feel like I have to be respectful and watch everything. You know what I mean? yeah And then when that was done, it was so awkward. And when that was done, it was a Kadina's Got Talent.
00:03:26
Speaker
I don't give a fuck. I don't want to hear this math sergeant sing and play his guitar. I don't care. Where is the dancing? There was none. We know a lot of people that like go to the balls regularly and maybe it was just a Kadena thing because I know like at a lot of the balls there's dancing and it's just like a good time. Yeah, it's supposed to be a good time. Like I was just like, this is boring as shit. So we ended up leaving at like eight thirty.
00:03:55
Speaker
We left so early because I'm just like, this is like, I'm like, show me the schedule. When is the dancing? Like there's all this money they spent on all these acts to come. They could have just got to understand why. Like I don't understand why. I don't either. Like, and if you were going to have something like maybe one, yeah, maybe one, maybe have like the, the drumming or something, like something specific to the Island, you know, but then like,
00:04:23
Speaker
have dancing. yeah That's what we want. Dancing and music. like I want that. I don't give a shit ah to hear like this random airman sing on the stage. like I don't care. This means you gotta to throw your own ball. Right? Literally. Yeah. so So it made me more excited for the Marine Corps ball in November because I will be having fun at that.
00:04:48
Speaker
Yeah. I just couldn't believe I'm just like, what is this? Oh my gosh. We ended up leaving early and then coming home and watching the screen. The first one. No, no, no. It was a pretty okay night. Yeah. Yeah. The first one. Such a good one. That's like a classic, man.
00:05:06
Speaker
It really is. and I remember like the first time watching it, you know like obviously, because I don't even know when it came out, like 97 or something.

Generational Parenting Reflections

00:05:14
Speaker
yeah We were like what, 10? I remember at the beginning of the ah movie when Sidney and Billy, are like he sneaks into your window or whatever and they're talking about how like ah when we started dating like we like hit it hard and heavy or something we were on our way to being NC 17 like we knew what that any of that meant when we were like 10 but I remember like being like oh yeah like I can't wait to talk like that as a teenager't be like as a teenager ah but came up you know by seven that's crazy that is crazy I had to look it up for babies I was 11 years old mm-hmm well depending on what month it came out
00:05:58
Speaker
When that movie came out, like, okay, so here's the thing. Like I have a 14 year old and I have a nine year old. I mean, my 14 year old, she could watch it now this year, but if I had, if she was 11, hell no. Would she be watching that movie? I think parroting was so much more like lax when we were younger. Right? Yeah. But we were also like, we're not like the latchkey generation, but at least I know. We kind of were. I came home by myself a lot.
00:06:28
Speaker
Yeah, same. i I remember. So I was in latch key until sixth grade um because it was i'm I'm sure it was probably like a a necessity. Like I don't because we didn't live in the school district that I went to school in. So like that was the only option. But then once I was able to like, you know, take the bus to junior high, it was one of those things where it was just like, well, if you get off the bus, you go home, you do all your chores, you do all your homework.
00:06:59
Speaker
and you're home by yourself for hours at a time. yeah like yeah just Growing up in the desert, like growing up in our generation was weird anyways. you know like There was just so many things that wouldn't be acceptable today that we went through or did or were part of as kids. But like growing up in the desert was even crazier because people talk about like, oh, you know, my mom didn't let us inside the house until the street lights are on. We were running through the desert where there's rattlesnakes, coyote, like dangerous animals, but also dangerous people. Like out in California, where do people dump bodies? Fucking desert.
00:07:41
Speaker
Right. Yeah. Where are the meth labs? The caves in the fucking desert. And we were just out exploring those caves, like digging shit up, knocking down like old gold mine houses, like riding dirt bikes for hours with no like adult supervision. We could have died multiple times. Absolutely.
00:08:04
Speaker
And it's like thinking about that now, like Mike and I were talking about just even like, we went on a really long walk yesterday, um in between like the two birthday parties we had. um And I didn't bring my phone. And I was like, Oh, I was like, I you don't have anxiety when it comes to the kids and stuff. And I'm just like, make sure you bring your phone. He's like,
00:08:25
Speaker
They're fine. When we were kids, like, we would be out from morning to night with with no cell phone, but no food, no cell phone, no adult supervision. Nobody gave a shit. And and like, we were fine. Kids are going to be fine while we go on an hour long walk. And I'm like, and then of course, like, because I didn't bring my phone, Avery called me like 14 times and was freaking out because she didn't know where they knew we were on a walk. But she's like, you know, where's mom?
00:08:54
Speaker
And so then she finally after like the 14th time called Mike and is like, is mom with you? Like, and he's just like, what's wrong? And she's like, I just I can't find mom. And he's just like, she's with me. Like, so do ah but it's just crazy thinking about like, when we were young, like, no, no cell no phones. Yeah. Did you ever call your parents collect?
00:09:19
Speaker
Yeah, and then you hang up. Yeah, we'd be like, I'm at the gas station, pick me up. You have a collect call from? Do you remember the commercial? Do you remember the commercial where it's like the the lady has a baby and the guy calls somebody? I don't know who he called, but he calls me and collects me. It's like, it's Bob, we had a baby, it's a boy. Click. Yes, I remember that.
00:09:48
Speaker
That's literally what we're doing. It's crazy to think about that like though now like as adults. It's crazy to think that because there's no way. like My anxiety could never. No. i like When I

Young Love: Meeting and Marrying Early

00:10:02
Speaker
was in high school, middle school and high school, you know I played sports all through And so whenever we would have an away game, the bus would drop us off at the only gas station in town and it wasn't like central to where we all lived. So we all had to like either find a ride home or like hope our parents picked us up. So that was like constantly we would like call collect like I'm not the gas station pick me up. Yeah, here pick us up. Yeah.
00:10:31
Speaker
I even remember there would be times in like junior high and high school where we lived so far from the school and say, like I got out to the bus too late and I missed the bus. I would have to walk miles and miles to get home like ah in seventh grade at 12. Just crazy walking like through super busy intersections. And like as a young girl, like could have been kidnapped, could have been killed. Everything in Oklahoma is so spread out. who so wow Well, and like where I grew up, we didn't even have a high school. we had an elementary We had an elementary school and then we didn't get a junior high school until seventh grade. And then for high school, I went to the next town over for high school because we didn't have a high school. They have one now, I guess, but we didn't. Is that where you met Anthony?
00:11:27
Speaker
No.
00:11:30
Speaker
we So he was like two towns over, but his best friend growing up is like a brother to me. We went to high school together. And I think we ran in the same circles. It's so weird. We didn't meet until after we graduated high school. But like we had all the same friends.
00:11:51
Speaker
like I even dated a guy in high school that was like really good friends with him at the time like they used to go to like concerts and like all kinds of shit together don't know how we never met but we didn't meet until I was like I think I was 19 when we met yeah And then we immediately got married. Immediately. Yeah, it was like, actually. Six months later. It was literally like six months. And then we were like, anyways. We're married. You're weird. I'm weird. Let's be weird together forever. Yeah. And it's worked out great because here we are 19 years later. I love that for you. We've been together for as long as years I was alive when I met him.
00:12:39
Speaker
I think either we're at that stage or we're almost there. we So we got together in 2005 when i we were both 17. And how old are we? Yeah. How old are we? I do that all the time. I'm like, I was born in 86. So 96 was 10. Take away the one. So 2005.
00:13:07
Speaker
plus 17. So yeah, same. Yeah. Isn't that crazy? That is crazy. That is crazy. It is crazy. It feels like yesterday. Yeah. But anyway, moving on. I mean, we've been talking about the ship for too long. We're not talking about growing up in craziness or being married for 900 years. We're not.

Pendulums in Spirituality and Science

00:13:32
Speaker
What are we talking about today?
00:13:34
Speaker
I was like, I don't know. I forgot. We've talked for some i' so Get to the fucking point. Girl, shut the fuck up. We don't care. We don't care. Unsubscribe. We don't. One star review. They talk too much. They talk too much. I saw a review on a podcast I was listening to the other day. A great podcast, by the way. They gave it one star because they laughed.
00:14:02
Speaker
They laughed during the podcast. I was like, oh do you not like laughter? Does nothing make you joy? yeah Are you just an unhappy person? like I don't understand. Look, if you don't like laughter, and don't listen to us because we are never serious. No, except when we have to be serious. When we have to be serious, yes. But yes, we are talking about pendulums.
00:14:29
Speaker
we sure are. So I guess I will kick it off. We're going to be going into some background and some history. um So um as far as background goes, yeah, enjoy it. and um What actually is a pendulum? Well, you know, it's pretty easy. I guess if you didn't know what a pendulum was, you'll find out now um According to Stacey Taylor from the blog, Sciencing, a pendulum is an object or weight suspended from a pivotal point. When a pendulum is set in motion, gravity causes a restoring force that will accelerate it toward the center point, resulting in a back and forth swinging motion.
00:15:11
Speaker
And according to just the Googles, a pendulum is a symmetrical weighted object that is hung from a single chain or cord and it's never made of a magnetic substance but will often be a crystal. Keep in mind though, it can also just be a trinket, a bead, a metal ball, a key, a necklace, like possibilities are endless here. You all know that we consistently advocate to work with what you have and to understand that you don't have to purchase tools unless you just really want to. um Using pendulums for divination is a great non-threatening way of channeling your higher self or spirit guides as it allows you to get a more physical response to your questions. And it's one of the most commonly used divinatory tools and it's also very, very beginner friendly.
00:15:59
Speaker
It really is, and the roots and origins of pendulums date back to a few different cultures and time periods, both scientifically and magically. In terms of its historical uses, pendulums have been used to help locate water, gold, oil, and other minerals, as well as in instances involving life and death, which I found really interesting, and we're going to talk about it a little more in detail.
00:16:24
Speaker
Yes. yeah so Before we get into like more magical uses, let's start with some of the scientific background and invent advancements first. So the word pendulum is considered new Latin and is derived from the old Latin word pendulus, which means hanging. And in ancient China, the principles of pendulum motions and the understanding of rhythmic motions were used in timekeeping devices and early clocks. And through the mechanics that were used in ancient China, this is where we see many other cultures throughout time get their ideas for timekeeping devices.
00:17:00
Speaker
And so like for instance in ancient Greece, they used pendulums like mechanisms that used rhythmic swinging motions in their study of astrology time and in scientific studies. And over time with the evolution of the knowledge on pendulum motions, we see the development of the first pendulum clock in 1656 by a Dutch scientist that I should have looked up how to pronounce his name and I did not.
00:17:27
Speaker
Um, so I'm just going to try my best here. Um, Christian Huggins, um, is probably not that, uh, sorry. Anyway, um, the way that the clock worked was through the rhythmic oscillation of the pendulum, which provided a reliable measure of time that was consistent and led to more advancements in pendulum clocks and the introduction of the second pendulum that Also measured seconds so like there's a lot of science that goes into it um and then in Italy so Galileo the Italian polymath in the 17th century he became fascinated with the pendulum and conducted many experiments that allowed us to understand physics on a deeper level and Allowed for further scientific discoveries that would contribute to our understanding of time motion and physics and
00:18:23
Speaker
In France, physicians used pendulums to aid in diagnosing patients. It was a science known as radiosthesia. They've also been noted to have been used to help detect allergies and other ailments, and to even accurately determine the gender and birth date of unborn babies. And during the Vietnam War, some US Marines were taught to use a pendulum to help them locate underground mines and tunnels.
00:18:49
Speaker
That is wild. I love that. Right? So moving more into pendulums and magic and some of the history there, fortunately for both our listeners and us, we are not going to be discussing time or the intention of the clock and detail in this episode. I mean, it's interesting, don't get me wrong, but like that topic can be a bit boring. So a little bit of a snooze fest. It is, yeah.
00:19:16
Speaker
We're going to move on to some more exciting topics. So ancient Egyptians, they used pendulums in their religious rites and ceremonies, and they believed that the motion of the pendulum could reveal messages from the divine or allow for communication with the gods. In ancient China, pendulums were used for geomancy, which was a form of divination that decoded markings on the ground or patterns created by rocks, soil, or sand. And pendulums were used to measure the flow of life energy or qi and make decisions related to burial sites, temple locations, and other decisions based on the principles of feng shui.
00:19:54
Speaker
And then in Europe, during middle ages during the Middle Ages and Renaissance times, pendulums were used in various spiritual practices. An example of this would be dowsing, which was used in the search for water and other resources. But it was also used as a tool for enlightenment. In some practices, the pendulum was used to enter into meditative states as a way to harmonize the mind and body with the rhythms of nature.
00:20:21
Speaker
How are pendulums used today in magic? So pendulums can be used in any of the ways we've mentioned already and how our ancestors use pendulums and magical practices in the past, depending on which culture or which religious background you um ascribe to. It can also be used for spiritual guidance, making decisions, answering questions, and as a way to cleanse negative energy.

Using Pendulums for Intuition and Guidance

00:20:46
Speaker
I would add in the medical sense, maybe don't trust a pendulum 100%. Right. Because that was something we did mention, but you could maybe just test it out and then go to the doctor if you need to. Absolutely. If you need medical assistance or you're pregnant, make sure you're doing the things that you need to do, not just trusting your pendulum.
00:21:15
Speaker
Putting that disclaimer there because, you know, we don't want them to come back and be like, Sam and Tiffany, you said a pendulum could be used. Right. So pendulums are said to work by tapping into your intuition where they act as a form of receiver and transmitter from your higher guidance, your guardians, and even your spirit guides. When working with pendulums, you gain answers in response to questions through their movements.
00:21:41
Speaker
The easiest way to practice with them is to use yes or no questions, keeping them as simple as possible, and just continue to ask clarifying yes or no based questions to gain understanding of the answers that you're seeking.
00:21:55
Speaker
The idea behind how they work is that it's a way to subconsciously bring the rational and intuitive sides of your brain together, so your left and your right sides of your brain. The belief is that when these two elements are brought together, you're able to make decisions using all of your resources and not just one or the other. For a pendulum to truly work, though, you need to get comfortable using it. You should 100% practice with your pendulum before truly using it for diminatory practices.
00:22:24
Speaker
Ask simple yes or no questions that you know the answers to already to get a feel for the movement of the pendulum and try to keep your arm and hand as steady as possible and not sway the movements in the direction that you favor or that you hope for.
00:22:39
Speaker
There's also different ways in terms of how you can get your answers. So some people will use a board or a piece of paper with yes, no, and sometimes even other options like maybe unknown, unclear, et cetera. And when they ask the questions, they will watch the pendulum's movement and see which answer it swings towards.
00:22:57
Speaker
Others will define what a movement for each answer looks like. So for this you might say a yes would be swinging front to back and a no would be side to side. A maybe might be like swinging in a circle or they just keep like yes and no and they don't even count maybes.
00:23:15
Speaker
Others might use clockwise for one or counterclockwise for the other with no movement being a maybe. There's really like not a right or wrong way as with majority of divination. And it's always best to do what feels right for you as the practitioner.
00:23:31
Speaker
Olivia from the Witch of Wonderlust says that she simply asks her pendulum to show her what each answer's movement looks like. So she will get into a position and then she'll ask her pendulum to show her what a yes looks like, what a no looks like, e etc. And then she'll ask it several questions that she knows the answer to in order to check the consistency. Another use for pendulums is for finding lost objects.
00:23:56
Speaker
So for this, you would use like a map or even a drawing of your house if you know that the item is inside your house. And you can ask the pendulum to help you locate that item by showing you where it is in the house or on the map.
00:24:09
Speaker
So when you're practicing with pendulums, they come in a variety. And as I mentioned already, you absolutely do not have to go out and spend money on one. It's likely that you already have items at home that would work for this practice. So examples would be like using a necklace or a bracelet with a charm on it.
00:24:28
Speaker
um making your own pendulum with a string, a chain, or a rope and an item from nature or just something that you have laying around. But just like make sure you're using an evenly weighted trinket on that string or chain or whatever it is that you're using. The possibilities really are endless and it could be, you know, you can go out and buy like a super fancy one if you wanted to, but it's not going to like change the outcome of how your pendulum works.
00:24:55
Speaker
So don't like break the bank to practice this type of divination. you're just You're not going to get better results just because you bought the most expensive one. You're going to get better results by purchasing one that you're drawn to or one that just like feels right to you. So the more common pendulums you'll see for sale are usually crystal pendulums. Yeah. And so the crystals that are often used um in pendulums can The reason why they're being used is because they contain frequencies and can be charged. And depending on the crystal, they can be used in a variety of different capacities and can be used to transmit and communicate with the user. So when we talk about crystals and pendulums,
00:25:41
Speaker
There are certain crystals who are used more often in pendulums than others. So you don't necessarily need a crystal if you're wanting to divine with a pendulum. The most important thing is, you know, literally what Tiffany already said was just making sure that you're connected with whatever device device you're using. But if you are using a pendulum containing a crystal,
00:26:01
Speaker
There are a few, like again, that are the most commonly used. so The first one being rose quartz. As with all of the crystals that we're going to mention, we've discussed this crystal many times on the podcast. um Rose quartz is often associated with love, self-love, and it's centered around the heart. um and Rose quartz is often used if you want loving guidance or guidance for choices that come from the heart.
00:26:27
Speaker
I was also reading that rose quartz is often used due to its calming properties to help like, yeah, like it's supposed to help like keep you like calm and focused during a divination practice, which is also why I guess a lot of times people bring rose quartz into divinatory practices, even when it's not like necessarily love related. Oh, yeah. I was like, that's really interesting. I didn't like, I don't think I ever knew that it was used for calming.
00:26:57
Speaker
Right. Yeah, me neither. I love that. Yeah. So amethyst is also another crystal that's used a lot. um This crystal is associated with the crown chakra and can help to connect you with your guides. It is the crystal associated with clear thinking and connection and can be used to help you divine related to big decision items in your life.
00:27:21
Speaker
And then lastly, clear quartz. Clear quartz is already a crystal of amazing amplification and can be used to amplify spells and in place of many different crystals you may not have in your arsenal. um And clear quartz can help us connect with our intentions and enhance our personal vibrations. And it's great to use when divining about your personal manifestation.
00:27:45
Speaker
I also read that clear quartz is used for its association with clarity and connecting to the higher purpose, which I thought was interesting. I love that. Yes. So um another popular type includes metal pendulums, and this is because they tend to be like super heavy and more sturdy in their movements. And really all of this is just to say, honestly, choose what you like, use what calls to you. If you feel like a specific crystal, use that one because it's going to have a deeper connection to you than if you just buy clear quartz because that's popular or that's what's like more commonly used.

Getting Started with Pendulum Practice

00:28:23
Speaker
Yeah. And so now that you've decided what kind of pendulum you want to use, whether that be something that you have already at the house or you've purchased one, you've been gifted one, whatever the case may be.
00:28:34
Speaker
To start working with a pendulum, just like with any divinatory practice, it it's just that it's a practice and it can take some time. So while it is a very entry level, don't get frustrated if you're having trouble divining the first few times you try to use a pendulum for divination. The clarity of the answers you receive will depend on a few things like how much practice you've had with the divinatory magic,
00:28:58
Speaker
your level of confidence in your ability to practice divination and the trust that you have and confidence in yourself and how well you care for your pendulum because that's going to be a big one. And then like just like with anything, you should cleanse the item first. So cleanse your pendulum first.
00:29:15
Speaker
You can do this by placing it in a window sill in direct sunlight or moonlight for a day or night or both. You can smoke cleanse it, salt cleanse it, cleanse and charge it with selenite, moonwater, etc. Just keep in mind any precautions when it comes to crystals like not all crystals are safe in the sun, not all are safe in water. So just be aware of that before cleansing to avoid causing damage to your crystal pendulums.

um And then you want to charge a pendulum with your energy by holding it in your hands, sitting quietly with it for some time, and really put your intention into your pendulum while focusing your energy into it. Once it's cleansed and charged, keep it somewhere safe, stored away from spaces that it might pick up others energy. um And just like with a tarot deck, you can sleep with them next to your bed or under your pillow, keep them in your purse or bag when you're out in a bow or keep them stored away with like your other tools or near or on your altar. And then I was also reading that it's important to be clear on the intention
00:30:23
Speaker
that you're setting for your pendulum. So setting a clear intention for your pendulum looks like sitting with your pendulum and establishing what you want it to be used for. Most commonly and like the best examples given for this is that it can be just simply inferring to your pendulum that this is supposed to be a tool for guidance or to gain insight. And so like giving the pendulum itself, giving the tool itself like an actual intention um is an important step as well.
00:30:53
Speaker
So um it's also recommended that you program your pendulum prior to using them. And to do this, you would sit with them and tell your pendulum how you want it to move, what direction it should move for specific answers, or like um what was suggested earlier, where you ask it, like, what is a yes? What is a no? You would define what answers relate to which movements and then ask your pendulum to show you that yes movement, a no movement. um based on how they're defined. And the way you hold your pendulum is to hold... that So there was different ways, I will say. Not everybody does this the same, but there seems to be like a pattern in these like particular ones. So you would hold the top of the cord or chain with the crystal or whatever type you're using dangling at the bottom.
00:31:43
Speaker
And you would hold it between some say your thumb and your index finger, some say your thumb and your middle finger, or your thumb and your first two fingers. And then going back to Olivia from The Witch of Wonderlust, she says she actually likes to hold the pendulum where the cord drapes over her index finger. So she holds it between her um thumb and index finger, but with the chain over top of her index finger so that it drapes over it.
00:32:09
Speaker
yeah with her elbow on a solid surface so that it's not like affected by like any movement of her arm like trying to balance it or whatever and you guys can't see me but I'm literally like doing the motions.
00:32:22
Speaker
sam yeah
00:32:25
Speaker
um And then once all of this has been done, you're set to start working with your pendulum. And this is just a step-by-step guide that I found on um a website called the Astrology and Angel Mediums blog.
00:32:40
Speaker
And for the full details that they include, like make sure to visit their blog from our show notes. I just stuck with the basics because they went into like full descriptions. So basically step by step, you're just going to get into a comfortable position. Make sure you aren't like sitting stiffly, but be very relaxed. Be sure that you're free of distractions. If you're not alone, tell others that you have like some personal correspondences to take care of so that you're not interrupted.
00:33:09
Speaker
which I thought was a really funny wording. Excuse me, I have personal correspondences I need to take care of. I was like, okay. Are we in the

Preparing for Pendulum Sessions

Victorian era? I know. Don't bother me, I'll be in the drawing room.
00:33:28

um They also said that being tired could really work better for you, as sometimes it's a lot easier to be receptive of what messages your guides have for you if you're tired. um Clear your mind of any, right? I was like, oh, I'm tired all the time, so I guess I'm good. Yeah. Clear your mind of any chatter, maybe do a small meditation here. Feel the muscles of your body go just totally relaxed. Pick your poison, meaning the type of pendulum that you want to use and what um guides that you plan to work with, taking your answers. Know that the answers to your questions will be confirmed by your higher self, your spirit guides, et cetera.
00:34:06
Speaker
Do not allow time for your mind to analyze the information until you're ready to be done with your session. Remember that this practice will go both easier and quicker with time and always follow your intuition doing what works best for you here. Yeah and additionally it's also important to remain grounded and centered while you're using your pendulum so I think the uh you know obviously the advice of like meditating and like getting into that state where you're like focused on just receiving the answers and not Analyze them, analyzing them is so important. um And then also keeping a pendulum journal to track your questions and insights, I think is a really good idea too, especially when you're just starting out. Because if you get into it and you're like, oh yeah, I'm going to start using them. I'm going to start dividing with a pendulum. I'm going to start making this part of my practice. If you go in it and then you're like, shit, I forgot ah what I was even going to ask. like
00:35:01
Speaker
it's going to be difficult to even, you know, use your pendulum because you're going to be like, well, wait, no, I have to stop. I have to go back. So if you keep a journal and then just write down like, okay, for this session, these are the questions I want to ask. That way you can keep track of it. You can figure out like, and remember to yourself, like, okay, I know I asked my pendulum, like, what is a yes, what's a no.
00:35:24
Speaker
and then being able to even write it as a key like in your journal of like, this is what my pendulum has told me, like this is what yes is what no means. That way you're not second guessing yourself and you're able to just get the answers and then think about it later.
00:35:39
Speaker
And just as a closing note, please allow yourself some time to practice and to get used to your pendulum before you start using it for serious divination. Use it for some simple mundane things a few times just to really get a feel and an understanding of your pendulum first. And then as you get comfortable with it, move on to bigger and bigger topics or questions. And i we've said it a few times already, but like just as a reminder, remember that you do not have to spend a bunch of money on a pendulum.
