Introduction and Speaker's Journey

00:00:03
Speaker
All right, everyone, you're very, very welcome to part 12 of the Jesus in the Old Testament series. So today we will be looking at the book of Psalms. I...
00:00:17
Speaker
I'll be honest with you. i am not one of those Christians who read Psalms every single day. There are some Christians and if you're like, oh, what did you read in the Word today? Psalms. Ask them three months later. Psalms. Ask them one year and four months later. Psalms. They just read like a psalm a day.
00:00:35
Speaker
i much prefer in the narratives in the bible and much prefer the stories um so sam's is something thing i only ever yep in and out of uh it's not my favorite but but it's great and then yesterday i knew i was teaching on it today and i had an idea what to teach on i just said lord i am open to being surprised maybe there's something in it i haven't seen before So I sat down the couch and I read all 150 chapters it.
00:01:07
Speaker
but My eyes were sore by the end. I think I crawled into bed this morning at 4am. open but There are worse reasons to crawl into bed at 4am. And that was when I really felt God saying, okay, this is where we're going with this.
00:01:24
Speaker
So our story today is going to take us all the way from everlasting to everlasting. From the beginning of all things. right to the end when it all gets wrapped up.
00:01:43
Speaker
All right.

Psalms and the Nature of Creation

00:01:44
Speaker
we're going to start off by looking at Jesus in the Lucas Ames. Now, in the first episode in this series, we looked at Jesus as creator God.
00:01:53
Speaker
The book of Psalms refers to Jesus as his creator God several times. Here are just a few of them. So Psalm 33, verse six, which says, by the words of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
00:02:18
Speaker
So the word of the Lord, so that's Jesus who spoke. And Jesus is the word of God in John chapter one. So Jesus is the word and he's the word because he spoke the word.
00:02:31
Speaker
And the breath of his mouth, the breath of God is Holy Spirit. So Jesus spoke the word and the heavens were made. That's the atmosphere, at outer space and the world of heaven.
00:02:46
Speaker
And the starry host, so stars, suns, moons, constellations, When he spoke, breath came of his mouth, and that breath was Holy Spirit.
00:02:57
Speaker
So you could say Holy Spirit literally breeds stars.
00:03:03
Speaker
We're giving more insight into Jesus as creator God in Psalm 74, 16 to also the night.
00:03:15
Speaker
the day is yours and your is also the knight You established the sun and moon. It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth.
00:03:26
Speaker
You made both summer, yay, it's summer right now, and winter. So Jesus is over the season. He's the God of ages, the God of seasons. He's the God who created how we even regulate the seasons.
00:03:45
Speaker
In Psalm 104, verse 2, verse two It says he wraps himself in light, as with a garment. He stretches out the heavens like a tent.
00:03:59
Speaker
It doesn't say he stretched out the heavens. It says he stretches. my last job as an ESL teacher, English as second language, some people call us TEFL, teach English foreign language, same job.
00:04:17
Speaker
We're told that when you have an S at the end of a verb, or an ES, or an IES, the verb is in the present simple form. That means it is your daily routine.
00:04:28
Speaker
It is your pattern of behavior. He stretches out the heavens. That means he makes the heavens bigger and bigger and bigger every single day.
00:04:43
Speaker
The world of heaven always increases in size. Because saints, God's kids, are going home every day. And your property, well, you go up to heaven when your property is finished.
00:04:57
Speaker
but So he will expand the size of the world of heaven um in order to accommodate your property. The property is made for you.
00:05:10
Speaker
In the same chapter, verse 5, it says, He set the earth on its foundations. It can never be moved. Again, this is the Lord Jesus speaking, or speaking of the Lord Jesus.
00:05:26
Speaker
And then the same chapter, verses 10 to 26. Look at the intricacies and the vibrancy and the vitality of the natural realm as he's created it to be.
00:05:40
Speaker
He makes springs pour water into the ravines. It flows between the mountains. They give water to all the beasts the field, the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
00:05:51
Speaker
The birds of the air and nest by the waters, they sing among the branches. He waters the mountains from his upper chambers. The earth is satisfied with the fruits of his work.
00:06:04
Speaker
He makes grass grow for the cattle and plants for man to cultivate, bringing forth food from the earth. Wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine.
00:06:16
Speaker
and bread that sustains his heart. The trees of the Lord are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. That can be Lebanon today. Prophetically, Lebanon often refers to Eden, the Garden of Eden.
00:06:34
Speaker
There the birds make their nests. The stork has its home in the pine trees. The high mountains belong to the wild goats. The crags are a refuge for the conies, the hyraxes, the rock badgers.
00:06:50
Speaker
The moon marks off the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down. You bring darkness, it becomes night, and oh, the beasts of the forest prowl.
00:07:00
Speaker
The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God. Isn't that embarrassing? Animals know God better than some people do? Yikes. The sun rises and they steal away.
00:07:14
Speaker
They return and lie down in their dens. If anyone ever tells you the Bible is make-believe, just read like this chapter. This is good stuff. This is all just like your basic run-of-the-mill natural realm malarkey.
00:07:29
Speaker
When man goes out to work, to his labour, until evening. Amen. And then and then it stops. How many are your works, O Lord, in whom you made them all? The earth is full of your creatures.
00:07:43
Speaker
There is the sea, vast and spacious, team of creatures beyond number, living things but large and small. There the ships go to and fro, and Leviathan would you form to frolic there, that the largest sea creature God ever made.
00:07:59
Speaker
So here you have verses and sounds all about creation, and Jesus is the creator.

Angelic Relations and Mankind's Creation

00:08:09
Speaker
Psalms also revealed, now it's hidden, but also reveals the beginning of sin Revelation 22, 16 calls Jesus the morning star.
00:08:22
Speaker
Jesus has a lot of names. That's just one of them. In Isaiah 14, 12, the devil, before it became the devil, back when he a cherub, is called the son of the morning.
00:08:36
Speaker
you've got the morning star, Jesus, Lucifer, when he's good, is the son of the morning. It's almost like they had a father-son relationship. In fact, they did.
00:08:47
Speaker
Jesus loved all of his creation, all of his creatures who were not in rebellion, who were pre-fall. Their pre-fall stay in their perfect state.
00:08:58
Speaker
Lucifer, the son of the morning, means the light bearer. Because of the close proximity to which he shared with Jesus, he would carry the light of Jesus the knowledge of Jesus, the insight, the wisdom, the understanding, and revelation.
00:09:18
Speaker
He would get revelation from the Lord, and he would share it wherever he went, with whomever he spoke to. Ezekiel 28, refers to Lucifer as the anointed cherub, who would walk on fiery stones.
00:09:37
Speaker
Okay, well, what does the anointing do? Well, 1 John 2.27 says the anointing reveals all things. So Lucifer was in close proximity to Jesus.
00:09:49
Speaker
So he would get revelation from Jesus. And he would reveal the knowledge he'd gotten from Jesus. How? Well, that's revealed in Isaiah 6.6.
00:10:01
Speaker
In Isaiah 6.6, you've got a fiery stone. It's called coal. We have it on earth as well. he would pick up the coal. put it to his lips and prophesy.
00:10:12
Speaker
The revelation knowledge was hidden in the stone. That's why witches today a crystal ball, right? That's where they got the idea. They twisted something that was okay in heaven.
00:10:26
Speaker
So he would put it pick up a fiery stone, put it to his lips, and he would get revelation of the Lord, and he would prophesy that revelation. Now he's described beautifully in Ezekiel 28 as covered in precious stones, which the high priest of Israel would later wear in a breastplate. So he was the high priest of Jesus.
00:10:47
Speaker
He was a prophetic cherub. No other angel is ever specifically referred to as path prophetic or anointed in the Bible. He seems to be the only one.
00:10:59
Speaker
And... I'm sure he prophesied the goodness of God, that, you know, the Pleiades constellation be created, you know, the existence of Jupiter and all its moons and yada yada yada.
00:11:16
Speaker
But Hebrews 2, 5 to 8 tells us where it all went wrong. Hebrews 2, 5 to 8 says that there was an instance where an angel it's The whole context of Hebrews 2 is angels sharing revelation.
00:11:35
Speaker
Where an angel earnestly protested. Some translations say testified. So he's speaking in a courtroom. In the Greek it says earnestly protested.
00:11:50
Speaker
And what was earnestly protested? This quote here. What is man that you're mindful of him? The son of that you're mindful of him? So you have an angel who sees the coming of the man. He puts the stone to his lips and he gets a revelation of the man and the woman, mankind collectively.
00:12:16
Speaker
And he absolutely loses his mind. And he holds Jesus into his own courtroom in heaven, throws the book at him, wags the finger,
00:12:30
Speaker
And this is what he says full. Psalm 8.
00:12:36
Speaker
o lord Oh Lord, Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. He's kind of buttering him up before he starts abusing him. You have set your glory above the heavens.
00:12:48
Speaker
From the lips of children and infants? He probably doesn't really know what they are either. You have ordained praise. Because of your enemies?
00:13:01
Speaker
Little does he realize he's about to come to king of the enemies. To silence the... bow? And avenger? A self-fulfilling prophecy. Hello.
00:13:15
Speaker
When I consider the work of your fingers. The moon and the stars, which you have set in place. And then he gets the crux of the issue.
00:13:26
Speaker
The heart of the matter. ah What's man that's mindful of him? The son of man that you care for him.
00:13:37
Speaker
You've made him a little lower than the heavenly being. So I'm still superior. sure Thank God. No pun intended. And you crowned him the glory and honor.
00:13:49
Speaker
He's like, i am the high priest of Jesus. I am like Jesus and I'm the son of the morning star. Don't you know?
00:13:59
Speaker
And you've created the physical realm. Physical reality. And you're giving it to them. You're giving it to a creature who doesn't even exist yet You're going to give it to the babies of reality.
00:14:12
Speaker
What are they? What?
00:14:16
Speaker
You made him ruler over the works of your hands. You put everything under his feet. He can't believe it. He's having a bloody conniption. All flocks and herds.
00:14:28
Speaker
And the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
00:14:36
Speaker
And then he butters them up to us, you know, it's like a compliment sandwich, a compliment, an insult compliment. Oh Lord, oh Lord, how majestic is your name the earth.
00:14:46
Speaker
When Lucifer put that stone to his lips, the penny dropped. Yes, he had a son relationship with Jesus, it meant nothing to him. He would only ever be Jesus' employee.
00:15:01
Speaker
Human beings were going to be God's family. He would only ever serve in the supernatural world. Humans were going to be made in the image of God to rule and reign and dominate and take dominion in the physical realm and have access to the spirit realm as per the will of God.
00:15:22
Speaker
Our relationship with God would be different from the angelic realm but better, more intimate. And he couldn't hack it. In fact, in Hebrew, because Psalms was written in Hebrew originally, what is man that you're mindful of him means, what is that blood vessels?
00:15:41
Speaker
What's that bloody thing? Literally, it means red. What is that Adam? What is that red blood filled thing? The son of man that you care for him?
00:15:54
Speaker
In the Hebrew, that sick thing, that feeble thing, that imperfect thing, that thing that needs commiseration and pity, because it's it's melancholic and and it's sinful and it's gross, that's what it actually translates. This is strong language. He earnestly protested the creation of the human race.
00:16:19
Speaker
So therefore, when Jesus made the man... He had to make him somewhere. The enemy would not find him. A lot of people, you know, they they're familiar with Genesis 1.26, that man and woman were made in the image of god That's great.
00:16:36
Speaker
A lot of Christians are quite familiar with Genesis 2.7. You know, Adam was made from the dust of the earth and Jesus breathed into the breath of lives, not life, Hebrew people, lives, a soul and a spirit.
00:16:53
Speaker
But actually, a lot of people just think that he got down on his hands and knees and began like you know making like it was like a pottery lesson, just you know was scooping up dirt and it made a man shape. Not so.
00:17:07
Speaker
Jesus descended into the earth and made him almost like a clone, like an imprint of himself from the dust that he then had to dig up.
00:17:21
Speaker
Okay, because Jesus has a lot of names. One of them is the second Adam, or the last Adam. So Jesus, when he was buried under the earth, came up again, resurrection.
00:17:33
Speaker
So Adam is the first Adam. Started off underground, and then came up. And we know this because we're literally told it in Psalm 139,
00:17:47
Speaker
Where it describes the creation of Adam, and it says... I praise you because I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. I know single Christian women have hijacked that Bible verse on Facebook and Instagram. And it's all, you know, they make the duck lips and the two fingers, you know, Bebo Stunner. you know, hashtag fearfully and wonderfully. That's how I learned the word hashtag was, was from single Christian women.
00:18:13
Speaker
but And it's not talking about them. It's talking about Adam. but It says your works are wonderful. I know that for while. My frame, my body was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth, in your underground workshop when you made me in the soil.
00:18:39
Speaker
Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me, almost and millennium, all were written in your book before one of them came to be.
00:18:52
Speaker
So Jesus made Adam underground, probably to stop demons from coming and like, you know, disrupting the process, you know, poking them with sticks or dovelins and then du em up out of the earth and then breathe a soul and spirit into him.
00:19:12
Speaker
And that's how Adam is the first Adam and Jesus second Adam. Adam was underground and he was made. He was dug up. Life was breathed into him. And he ruled and reigned on the earth. And for Jesus, he was buried in a tomb.
00:19:29
Speaker
And let's say if the door was here, you had to go down steps to like the shelves where the corpses were placed. So he was buried underground. But Holy Spirit resurrected him and out of the grave he came.
00:19:48
Speaker
All right. Sam also reminds us of when Moses split the waters so the Hebrew slaves could cross on over out of captivity in Egypt into freedom.
00:20:02
Speaker
We looked at this a few weeks ago. fact, we spent three weeks looking at Moses. And Sam 73, 13 reminds of this. thirteen reminds of this
00:20:24
Speaker
And I'm looking at the screen. That should be 74. Not 73. Yeah, 74. Happy days.
00:20:31
Speaker
It says, it was you who split open the sea by your power. You broke the head of the monster in the waters. So again, Moses saw the Lord doing this. He could see the Lord going before him. could see the Lord in the fire. He could see the Lord in the clouds.
00:20:51
Speaker
John 1.18 says no one had ever seen God the Father by that stage. Jesus would also say that no one had ever seen Father God in heaven, apart from the one who had come from the Father.
00:21:04
Speaker
So

Moses, David, and Jesus in Psalms

00:21:05
Speaker
if Moses looking into the sky, and he can literally see God in a cloud or in a fire, leading the people through the Red Sea.
00:21:17
Speaker
it was Jesus. Jesus.
00:21:23
Speaker
Let's stick with this one. And read I'll read that again. I'll read the next verse too. It was you who split open the sea by your power. You broke the heads of the monster in the waters. Kind of interesting those two go together.
00:21:37
Speaker
You could say the monster was a metaphor for Pharaoh. Okay, but I believe there's more going on. It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave him as food to the creatures of the desert.
00:21:52
Speaker
Well, what is Leviathan? The fullest description is in Job 41, where Leviathan It was massive.
00:22:04
Speaker
is the largest sea creature the god ever mas it it was massive If you attacked it, you did not attack it again.
00:22:16
Speaker
No human weapon was able to penetrate its scales. Its scales were like shields. It was literally a sea dragon. The Bible actually says that it would breathe fire.
00:22:31
Speaker
And so it was a massively potent creature. And when Job writes about it, he kind of writes about it like everyone in the ancient world just like knew that it existed.
00:22:42
Speaker
i So you kind of look at stories today, like in Scotland, um you know, our and our neighbors, um and they have like the Loch Ness Monster, for instance. um In China, you know, they've got the dragons yada, yada, yada.
00:22:57
Speaker
So kind of shows you that Yeah, biblically, there were creatures that God made that were absolutely massive and that were even, you fire breeders. um It's referred to as the king of the proud, where you have, let's say, the Leviathan, the natural creature, and then you also have demons who take on its qualities or its form or its name, because demons are not very creative individuals. They just steal, ah twist and pervert and corrupt what God's already made.
00:23:31
Speaker
a The Bible says that you know ships weren't able to haul it in and No one was actually able to stop it. Even angels were afraid of it. That's how powerful and intimidating it was. i mean, supernatural creatures were afraid of this natural beast. And yet, Jesus showed his strength by destroying it.
00:23:54
Speaker
And the fact that it comes there in Psalm 74, 13-14...
00:24:00
Speaker
Who knows, possibly he did it in and around the time of the the Exodus out of Egypt.
00:24:12
Speaker
All right, Psalm 89. This is a prophecy that was given to our good friend David, who we looked at last week.
00:24:23
Speaker
Now, it's quite a long one. um So I'm going to break it up today into verses 19 39.
00:24:35
Speaker
It says, once you spoke in Ephesians to your faithful people, you said, I have bestowed, that's not a word. i have bestowed strength on a warrior.
00:24:48
Speaker
I have exalted a young man from among the people. i have found David, my servant, with my sacred oil, I have anointed him. David was 18 years of age.
00:25:01
Speaker
um He was born into a family who did not value or appreciate him. He actually says that his parents zi taed him and And he later says that he was born sinful.
00:25:15
Speaker
So it's possible that his father had maybe committed adultery. And maybe he was born out of wedlock. So and there was an antagonism.
00:25:29
Speaker
in the family towards him. He was seen as the black sheep of the family. i I'm going to say, and my sacred oil have anointed him, he sent, God sent Samuel, the prophet, to the house of Jesse.
00:25:45
Speaker
Jesse had eight sons. um So he invited her seven of them to the family of barbecue. And Samuel was like, God rejects this one. God rejects that one. God, is not like what's in your heart, boy.
00:26:00
Speaker
God, yeah, you're not special either. God says no to you. And after rejecting all seven of Jesse's sons, Samuel's like, I am a prophet. Like, I'm usually right.
00:26:13
Speaker
It's in the correct house, isn't it? And Jesse goes, well, there is the runt, which literally means, well, there is the least important. Imagine having eight sons and literally knowing that one of them was the least important, at least in your estimation.
00:26:28
Speaker
Terrific family drama. So David comes and Samuel goes, ya yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. God looks at the heart. This is the one. And they anointed him with oil.
00:26:42
Speaker
My hand will sustain him. Surely my arm will strengthen him. No enemy will subject him to tributes. No wicked man will oppress him.
00:26:52
Speaker
And this is so true. I mean, David, after Jesus, David's probably the best hero in the Bible. I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries. My faithful love will be with him, and through my name, his horn, his strength, will be exalted.
00:27:10
Speaker
I will set his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers. He will call out to me, you are my father, my God, the rock, my savior. will also appoint him my firstborn, the most exalted the kings of the earth.
00:27:29
Speaker
I will maintain my love to him forever, and my confidence with him will never fail. If I establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.
00:27:42
Speaker
If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes. Well, that happened. If they violate my decrees, yeah, yeah, in the space of one generation, and fail to keep my commands,
00:27:58
Speaker
Yeah, his grandson literally saw the kingdom split in two. I will punish their sin with their rob, their iniquity with flogging. Keep that mind, going to circle back to that.
00:28:10
Speaker
But I'll not take my love from them, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. I'll not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered. That, through David, I'm going to build a kingdom lasts forever.
00:28:25
Speaker
Once for all, i have sworn by my holiness, and I will not lie to David, that his line will continue forever, that his throne endure before me like the sun.
00:28:39
Speaker
It will be established forever i like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky, Selah. But you have rejected, you have spurned, you've been very angry with your anointed one. Hmm, interesting. thing You have renounced the covenant with your servant and have defiled his crown in the dust.
00:29:00
Speaker
All right. So David is chosen by God. David's name means beloved. Isn't that amazing? So God chooses the one he loves, the one who loves him and says, you're going to be the king. and he was anointed at the age of 18. It took a long time before he was actually crowned and 12 ah Meanwhile, there was another guy sitting on the throne wearing a crown and kept trying to kill him. And David loved the Lord. Yes, he made a couple big mistakes. There are a couple of hairy chapters in 2 Samuel that I like to skip whenever I read the Bible. I like to focus on the good parts of the story. But it's all important.
00:29:44
Speaker
and We all need Jesus. um And the Lord said, listen, I'm going to build a kingdom through you. It's going last forever. going to put the seed of life, the seed of redemption life in you.
00:29:56
Speaker
And from you, the king is going to come and your kingdom will last forever and ever, ever never,

Prophecies of Jesus' Suffering and Resurrection

00:30:01
Speaker
never, never, never. Amen. But if, may God say, when your descendants are very naughty, I will punish their sin with the rod.
00:30:15
Speaker
their iniquity at flogging. You would be hard-pressed to read any of your Testament books of the wicked kings of Israel and find them getting flogged and beaten with rods.
00:30:32
Speaker
Until you get to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
00:30:37
Speaker
If you read the book of Matthew, chapter 1, A lineage is given from King David all the way down to Joseph.
00:30:49
Speaker
Joseph in the Christmas story. Where Joseph was the rightful king of Israel, but was not given a crown. An evil king called Herod had usurped the throne. he was a foreigner from Edom. He'd stolen it. So Joseph was hiding the back end Galilee, the back end of nowhere, and trying to keep his head down.
00:31:10
Speaker
And then you read the book Luke. It gives you another genealogy that David is in And this one ends with Mary. Where Mary was the rightful queen of Israel.
00:31:23
Speaker
But again, an evil man was sitting on the throne who had stood on the throne. So she was hiding in the back end Galilee with Joseph. The two of them were engaged. And from them came Jesus.
00:31:35
Speaker
The King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the God of God. But for the sin of the people, Jesus was beaten with rods.
00:31:49
Speaker
For the sin of all of us, yes, the king's and David's descendancy line, but also for us, Jesus was flogged with whips.
00:32:02
Speaker
Beaten to a pulp, they would have torn strips off his back, you would have been able to see his insides, his organs wouldn't have been sticking out. I was spat on, crown of thorns was stuck in his head, nails were driven through his hands and his feet, he was stripped butt naked, he was beaten to a pulp. um
00:32:24
Speaker
God did punish someone for those king's sins, but not those kings themselves. The perfect king, the flawless king, the once and forever king of Israel.
00:32:40
Speaker
Jesus Christ.
00:32:44
Speaker
And it says, but you have rejected. And Jesus was rejected by people. He was rejected by the nation he came to save.
00:32:53
Speaker
You have spurned. Jesus was despised when he was a baby. He was despised as he was hanging on the cross. He is still despised by people today.
00:33:07
Speaker
You've been very angry with your anointed one. Because when he hung on that cross, Jesus took on the sin, the evil of every single person ever.
00:33:20
Speaker
In all of time and space. Every spoken sin. Every actionable sin. Every thought sin.
00:33:35
Speaker
All of it. Every sickness, every disease, every stubbed toe, every anxiety, every act of oppression, every rape, every kidnapping of children, every instance of human trafficking, every instance of working, you know, in a retirement home and stealing 15,000 off Each of seven patients, every single bit of it was put on Jesus.
00:34:13
Speaker
Father God looked at it and was like, Jesus said, why have you forsaken Because Father God couldn't look. It was that horrific. It was that disgusting.
00:34:24
Speaker
All of evil and sickness and anxiety Every mental issue, every motor issue, all together in one space, in one human vessel.
00:34:34
Speaker
Father God couldn't look.
00:34:38
Speaker
You have renounced the covenant of your servant and had to have defiled his crown the dust. Jesus died. The sin of the world killed him. But he did it willingly.
00:34:49
Speaker
But... Praise be to God. Three days later, he came up out of that grave with not an ounce of that sickness or disease or sin is still in him.
00:35:03
Speaker
And that is the total amazing freedom life that offers to every single one of us.
00:35:18
Speaker
All right, then. In Psalm 146, verses 7 to 8, a prophecy is given about how Israel is going to basically become miracle central under Jesus. When Jesus walking around on the earth, amazing things going to happen.
00:35:38
Speaker
Here are just some of those things that he did. He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free.
00:35:50
Speaker
The Lord gives sight to the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down. The Lord loves the righteous. And you know what? The next verse is just as good. Let's continue reading.
00:36:06
Speaker
The Lord watches over the alien. That really confused me a child. I thought UFOs were real. just means a foreigner. And sustains the fatherless and the widow.
00:36:17
Speaker
But he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
00:36:21
Speaker
In Luke 7, 18-35, John the Baptist, who was Jesus' cousin biologically, and he was a prophet, and he'd actually told people, you know, here comes the Lamb of God who takes lives in the world. So he had a prophetic moment. He knew Jesus was God, the Messiah.
00:36:40
Speaker
But John the Baptist got arrested by King Herod and his wife Herodias, who was also his mother's wife. Don't think about it. Blech.
00:36:52
Speaker
And after quite a long stint in prison, think John the Baptist was so kind of wondering, I was right about you, wasn't I? That wasn't a false prophecy. i and That was legit, yeah? um So his disciples went to Jesus, and they were like, hey, Jesus, your cousin is a little bit concerned to date you.
00:37:15
Speaker
He's a little bit concerned. He's kind of wondering, what's going on? What's taking so long? And, you know, you were the Messiah, right? You know, he didn't get that wrong. He didn't make a wrong call.
00:37:27
Speaker
When heaven opened and the Father said, this is my son and I'm well pleased. That wasn't a mass hallucination, yeah? That was legit? Yeah, yeah, And Jesus that said, are blind eyes opening?
00:37:40
Speaker
Are deaf ears being opened? ah And then they returned to John the Baptist and they said, well, listen, everything you said about him, he's doing. It's happening.
00:37:52
Speaker
And then John was like, whew, okay, thank God.
00:38:15
Speaker
The crucifixion, the single most important event in the Bible, up there, you know with the resurrection, putting them together, is also prophesied in Psalms in immaculately accurate detail. See, a lot of people, when they read Psalms, which kind of annoys me, to be honest, is they're like, you know, oh what the bishop let it's look and well, yeah, sure, some of it is. And then you have verses like, you know,
00:38:46
Speaker
geez, if the Babylonians grabbed our babies and you know smashed them against the rocks and spilled our brains, i which isn't so beautiful in my opinion. But I know what people mean, like, you know oh, it's got some beautiful song, but the Book of Psalms is also a very incredibly prophetic book regarding the cross of Jesus, the resurrection of Jesus,
00:39:09
Speaker
But ultimately, that Jesus is the one who will deal with evil. And I do not mean deal with evil on the cross. I mean deal with evil as in a massacre against the forces of darkness in a human sense and actually create 1,000 years world peace.
00:39:27
Speaker
All these things are prophesied in the Book of Psalms. So let's switch gears now and let's look at Psalms as a prophetic book about Jesus. So Psalm 22...
00:39:39
Speaker
Let's go verse 1 to 21. We could read the whole thing, but we all have lives. and i don't want to keep you too late tonight. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
00:39:52
Speaker
Well, hello. Who is that? That is Jesus on the cross. That's exactly what he said word for word. Because he was so full of sin and disease and anxiety and agony and trauma, God couldn't look.
00:40:06
Speaker
Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning? All of this was going through Jesus' head and heel on the back cross. Oh my God, I cried by day, but you don't answer.
00:40:21
Speaker
By night, and I'm not silent. Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One, you are the praise of Israel. In you our fathers put their trust, they trusted you and you delivered them.
00:40:39
Speaker
Well, the cross was the ultimate deliverance. They cried to you and were saved, in you they trusted and were not disappointed. But i am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people.
00:40:58
Speaker
This worm is a canker worm. It's reddish in colour. And when it dies, it secrete this white, gooish gunk on a tree.
00:41:11
Speaker
And um all the other little itsy-bitsy worms kind of roll on and get the colour stuck to them. That is Jesus' prophetic. Because it sounds like he just is having, you know, a woe is me kind of moment. Like, oh, I'm so itsy bitsy and small.
00:41:28
Speaker
But actually, canker worm's red. And Jesus was like bleeding profusely. And no blood. It would have started shooting out of his side.
00:41:40
Speaker
but when it died, this white gunk got secreted that would cover its kids. And Jesus saying, I'm the canker worm.
00:41:53
Speaker
I'm bleeding now. But my kids don't look bleeding gorgeous when my blood washes over them. But they're going to be white as snow. The crimson stain of sin will be washed away. My kids will be white as snow because I'm dying in their place.
00:42:10
Speaker
But I'm a worm and not a man, scurned by men and despised by the people. All who see me mock me. I mean, you literally had people at the crucifixion going, if you're a god, save yourself and save us.
00:42:29
Speaker
The irony is, in not saving himself, he was saving them.
00:42:35
Speaker
All who see me mock me, they hurl insults at me, shaking their heads. He trusts in the Lord. Let the Lord rescue him. Let him to deliver him since he delights in him. Ugh.
00:42:50
Speaker
Yet you brought me out of the womb, Mary's. You made me trust in you, even at my mother's breast. From birth I was cast upon you.
00:43:02
Speaker
From my mother's womb you have been my God. Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help me.
00:43:14
Speaker
Many bulls, and they start by agricultural creatures. He's describing demons, what the demons look like, all around the cross, in the people and outside of the people.
00:43:28
Speaker
Many bulls around me, strong bulls of Bashan encircle me. You might be asking yourself, where is Bashan? Bashan was back the days of Joshua.
00:43:41
Speaker
Bashan was a wicked city um who had a massive giant, a gibbarim, ruling them. um There were two in particular, Sihon and Og were the two biggest giants.
00:43:57
Speaker
They had a horrific reputation in those days. And Joshua and his men, you know, cut them down in Moses' time as well. um So it's a place affiliated with evil. When people in Jesus' day heard Bashan, they thought of big Old Testament villains.
00:44:20
Speaker
Roaring lions tearing their prey opened their mouths wide against me. I am poured out like water. And water would pour out of the side.
00:44:31
Speaker
And all my bones are out of joint. Totally and utterly dislocating. Look at that picture on the screen. The human body is not supposed to look like that. His arms are dislocated at their sockets to hang up on the cross as is.
00:44:46
Speaker
My heart has turned to wax. It has melted away within me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd and my tongue sticks the roof of my mouth.
00:44:59
Speaker
Which is correct because Jesus would later ask for a drink. You lay me in the dust of death. He was buried. Dogs have surrounded me. A band of evil men have encircled me.
00:45:12
Speaker
They have pierced my hands and feet. and And again, they're the the nails, the nail piercings. I can count all my bones. Good Lord.
00:45:27
Speaker
People stare and they, i would like to say they pity me. No, they gloat over me. Think of Nelson once from The Simpsons.
00:45:39
Speaker
Only worse. They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing. They've taken my clothes off me. And now they're rolling dice. See who gets to take them home.
00:45:52
Speaker
But you, oh Lord, be not far off. Oh, my strength, come quickly to help me. Deliver my life from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs. Rescue me from the mouth of the lions.
00:46:05
Speaker
Save me from the horns of the wild oxen. Wow.
00:46:15
Speaker
Let's flick... On few pages to Psalm 51, verse 7. This is one most famous Psalms after David, who looked at a few moments ago, who had lived such an amazing life.
00:46:31
Speaker
Like I said, there are some chapters in his life I just don't like reading. One of them is when he sleeps a woman called Bathsheba, who he knows is married to his friend Uriah. ah She gets pregnant and he's like, whoopsie!
00:46:45
Speaker
Um, barely an inconvenience. So he tries to get Uriah to sleep with his wife so that Uriah might think he's the baby daddy. Doesn't happen. And then David conspires to have Uriah murdered. It's just horrific. It starts off bad and it gets worse and worse each line you read.
00:47:06
Speaker
But Psalm 51 is when he says, what the hell have I done? Oh, God. Don't take Holy Spirit from me.
00:47:19
Speaker
My heart is broken. My frame, my soul is wounded. if My heart's just infected. It's disgusting. Only you put back together again. Put me back together. Oh, God. It's a phenomenal thing.
00:47:35
Speaker
But in verse 7, he says something which is pretty strange. i read this few months ago, and I was thinking, oh, what's that? It says, cleanse me with hyssop and i will be clean.
00:47:47
Speaker
Wash me and I'll be whiter than snow. My question was, God, what is hyssop? So I Googled it. um It's like it's branch, it's like tree.
00:47:59
Speaker
And then said, God, I'm pretty sure I've read the word hyssop before. It does have something do the cross. Well, actually it does. When Jesus' mouth was bone dry and his tongue was stuck to the roof of his mouth, then goes, drink.
00:48:15
Speaker
you Needed. bits of Drink. The Roman soldier got a hyssop branch stuck into a sponge, stuck into vinegar and lifted up the hyssop to Jesus.
00:48:30
Speaker
So this is i don't even know if David knew just how prophetic this was when he first wrote and sang this song. But cleansing me with hyssop depicts from the cross.
00:48:42
Speaker
And I will be clean. Wash me and I will be whiter than snow.
00:48:53
Speaker
And Psalm 69, 21 is actually related to this.
00:49:00
Speaker
It says they put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst. Again, this is a prophecy about Jesus on the cross when he was thirsty.
00:49:13
Speaker
And they didn't give him wine. They didn't give him water. They gave him like sour wine. They gave him vinegar. and Which, in fact, would only have made him even thirstier.
00:49:29
Speaker
But the super special, awesome, amazing thing about our Lord is he did not stay dead. he is resurrection and life. He was never going to stay gone for long. home In fact, if he was dead for any longer, all of reality would have ceased to exist.
00:49:46
Speaker
It would have been annexed into oblivion. Psalm 16, prophesied the resurrection of Jesus.
00:50:01
Speaker
It says, therefore, my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices. My body also will rest secure because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your holy one with a capital H, capital see decay.
00:50:16
Speaker
You make known to me the path of life and you will fill me with joy in your presence with eternal pleasures at your right hand. And his body, in fact, did not see decay because he was only in there for three days.
00:50:31
Speaker
And when he came out, he came out in a new resurrection, but he looked, was going to say as good as new, he looked even better than this
00:50:41
Speaker
that. And in 113, verse 7, it says he raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap.
00:50:54
Speaker
So again, when it says it raises from a resurrection and from the dust, you know, dust to dust, that idea. um made People made for the dust and they return to the dust.
00:51:06
Speaker
It's talking about and coming out of your grave, not staying there.
00:51:17
Speaker
All right, let's flick forward a few chapters to Psalm 118, verse 22.
00:51:25
Speaker
Here it says, the stone the builders rejected has become the capstone.
00:51:32
Speaker
That verse appears a second in time in the Bible, in Matthew 21, in a story between verses 33 and 46. Jesus shares a story, it's a parable but himself um about man who's got property, but people kill every messenger he sends.
00:51:55
Speaker
Eventually, they even kill the son of the man. And Jesus says in the story, that's what's happening now.
00:52:06
Speaker
You have hated all the Old Testament prophets. All the prophets that God sent to you have been despised by you. And there the son has come, the son of God, to deliver you, to save you, to win you back in the darkness.
00:52:23
Speaker
And you hate me just as much as you hated them. My word was offensive in their mouths to you. So therefore, my words will be offensive and my own body to you.
00:52:35
Speaker
if you You don't just hate the messenger. It's because you hate the words. And the words is God. The words, John chapter one, in the beginning of the word, the word was God.
00:52:48
Speaker
If you hate what God says, because we've got a problem with God himself. That's what Jesus said. it says, I'm the capstone. But you've rejected me. You've forsaken me.
00:52:59
Speaker
Therefore, I'm going to come to another people. A future people. And this all transpired when they crucified him.

Future Salvation and Tribulations

00:53:13
Speaker
He resurrected. ascended. And this day, he has not come back for Israel as of yet in His sovereignty still protects them from their enemies. He still loves them. He still, i mean, that nation is surrounded by enemies. that That nation is still on the earth is evidence of the hand of God, 100%.
00:53:34
Speaker
But for them, for their 100% salvation of every israel of every Jew, that's still in the future because they rejected it in Jesus' day. The potential to receive him was absolutely there.
00:53:48
Speaker
But the human heart said no. They rejected him. So he said, fine, I'm going to go away. I'll come back to another people. Which is basically the same nation, but just in the future.
00:54:03
Speaker
Hasn't happened yet.
00:54:08
Speaker
In these days, God is focusing primarily on saving the Gentiles, the Gentile nations. and And his hope is that if we all get our act together, then Israel will become jealous for him and they'll want to get in on the action as well.
00:54:23
Speaker
This climaxes with the rapture, which is when Jesus comes back in the blink of an eye and snatches the entire body of Christ back home with him. Your clothes will be left behind, your house be left behind, but you will be in heaven.
00:54:36
Speaker
your spirit at 100%, your soul at 100%. He's going to give you a brand new body, so it's okay if you've got some backache. It's okay if you have, you know, one missing toe on your right butt.
00:54:48
Speaker
It's all right if your fingernails little bit on the chipped side, half your teeth are metal, or dentures. Doesn't matter. Maybe you need glasses. In heaven you won't. Your body would perfect.
00:55:00
Speaker
He's going to create a resurrection body for you. A super special, awesome, and perfect, amazing, miracle working body. ah You know, Jesus' resurrection body was able to teleport, was able to fly, he was able to walk through walls. Your resurrection body in heaven will do the same.
00:55:14
Speaker
And you will live in heaven as a 3D creature in a spiritual world. It will be mad in the best way possible. But when that all ends, after that, the main nation he'll be preoccupied with saving again will be Israel.
00:55:34
Speaker
In the Old Testament, he wanted to save Israel. And if they got their act together, the other nations would get saved too. There are very, very, very few instances of that happening in the Old Testament, embarrassingly few.
00:55:49
Speaker
Now his aim is for the Gentile nations to know him and for Israel to want to get in on the action. and Once we're raptured and gone,
00:56:00
Speaker
He's to choose Israel again to be the main ambassadors for the nation. He'll choose 144,000 of them to evangelize the nations.
00:56:11
Speaker
But there will be a power vacuum in the spirit realm. Holy Spirit currently lives in us. And we're told in Thessalonians that Holy Spirit us hold back the spirit of the Antichrist.
00:56:25
Speaker
holds back the spirit of the one world governance, holds back the spirit that wants to bring about the apocalypse. The enemy always tries to bring You might say even now the enemy is pretty close, um but Holy sp Spirit in us is a buffer in the spirit realm.
00:56:43
Speaker
But once we go up into heaven, Holy Spirit is coming up with us. He is the one who's currently restraining the forces of evil, You might say, Brendan, there's more evil now than ever before.
00:56:56
Speaker
but That's the only thing that tells us. What you see now is evil being restrained. Imagine what it will look like when we're gone.
00:57:06
Speaker
We don't know when exactly the apocalypse will begin, but at some points after we're gone, A counterfeit peace treaty will be signed between Israel and other nations, and that basically is the first day in a seven-year-long apocalypse.
00:57:25
Speaker
And again, if this kind of goes over your head and you're thinking, what's wrong? Discipleship 2027, yes, I know it's only June, i was already thinking ahead, will be on the end times, and we'll look at all this in detail then.
00:57:39
Speaker
But that will be the kickoff point, basically. And then you'll have a seven-year-long tribulation. seven-year-long perilous season.
00:57:50
Speaker
seven-year-long apocalypse. Where a man called the Antichrist will be running the shop and as part of an unholy trinity. Satan, who will be the counterfeit god.
00:58:04
Speaker
The Antichrist, the counterfeit Jesus. So a man who Maintains he's more than a man. And the false prophet, who's a counterfeit holy spirit.
00:58:16
Speaker
and The false prophet will be a counterfeit miracle worker. He will use witchcraft, wizardry and sorcery, hexes and vexes, and create all manner of phenomenal science. Real, legit, not imaginary, not using holograms of technology.
00:58:36
Speaker
It will be real power, but demonic power. and will basically bring the earth to its knees. and The degree to which human depravity will go through the roof is absolutely unbearably sad. When you actually read Revelation and you see what people will be doing to each other, it is infuriating and almost beyond comprehension, and actually.
00:59:04
Speaker
um So Sam's, we're going to shift gears now and go really far into the future. has a lot to say about that season. The Great Tribulation season.
00:59:18
Speaker
So, let's start off with the good. Then we'll to that. Then we'll go back into the good again. We're going to good sandwich. The bread. The meat's little bit hairy. It's been there one day too long.
00:59:29
Speaker
Then the bread again. So, Psalm 66, 8 to 20. eights to twenty So, all these verses look at how the Great Tribulation...
00:59:41
Speaker
because it's easy to focus on the antichrist and the devil and the bad and yada yada yada god will be using that season to win israel for himself to restore the nation to himself a lot of good going to take place during the apocalypse if you can believe that the psalm 66 8 says praise our gods all peoples When it says, oh peoples, that's referring to the nation of Israel. They've got 12 tribes.
01:00:12
Speaker
If it says, oh, nations, we're talking about different countries. it says, oh, peoples, it's talking about Israelites. Let the sound of his praise be heard. He has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.
01:00:28
Speaker
For you, God, tested us. You refined us like silver. So you put us through the fire, you burnt off the dross, and now we're as good as gold.
01:00:40
Speaker
You brought us into prison and laid burdens in our backs. You let men ride over our heads. We went through fire and water. But you brought us to a place of abundance.
01:00:53
Speaker
I'll come to your temple with burnt offerings. That's not his temple in heaven. The temple will literally be rebuilt on Mount Zion, in Jerusalem, in Israel. was a geographical prophecy.
01:01:06
Speaker
With burnt offerings, grain and animals, all the Old Testament and festivals and traditions will be brought back. And fulfil my vows to you.
01:01:19
Speaker
Vows my lips promised, and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. So I told you that I would do this, and I'm going to do I'm going live off to my word. I'll sacrifice fat animals to you, and an offering of rams, I'll offer bulls and goats, salam.
01:01:34
Speaker
Come and listen, all you who fear God. Let me tell you what he's done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth. His praise was in my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
01:01:49
Speaker
But God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me. So in the context, this is someone in the End time scenario in Israel, who will be in sin first, in rebellion first, but they will turn to the Lord and they will be saved. They will survive the tribulation and they're going to spend their lives serving him afterwards.
01:02:20
Speaker
Psalm 102, 16 to 18. For the Lord will rebuild Zion, because it's going to look pretty dastardly after the apocalypse. He's going to put back together again.
01:02:33
Speaker
and appear in his glory. That's Jesus. In the natural. He will respond to the prayer of the destitute. He will not despise their plea. Let this be written for a future generation.
01:02:47
Speaker
So again, a lot of people read Psalms every day and they're like, you know oh, this time is for me.
01:02:55
Speaker
Maybe, but it's not necessarily to you. It's for a future time, a future generation. that a people not yet created, case in point, may praise the Lord.
01:03:07
Speaker
The Lord looked down from his sanctuary on high, this is the one in the sky, from heaven he viewed the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.
01:03:18
Speaker
He's going to see their misery, just like he did in the days of Moses, and he will send Jesus, the greater Moses, to deliver his people.
01:03:33
Speaker
Okay, Psalm 130, verses 7 to 8.
01:03:49
Speaker
Oh, Israel. Again, a lot of Christians read this and they just stick their own name in there. No, it's a prophecy. For a future time to a very specific country.
01:04:01
Speaker
O Israel, put your hope in the Lord. For with the Lord is unfailing love. And with him is full redemption. Not a little bit. Not ten people go to church. Most people don't.
01:04:15
Speaker
Full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from not some of their sins. Not most their sins. All their sins.
01:04:27
Speaker
This is similar to Romans 11, 25, 27.

which prophesies about the end times and says all Israel will be saved. During the Great Tribulation, if you can believe it, during the apocalypse, the entire nation of Israel, every single one of them, 100%, will put their faith in Jesus Christ as their savior and their lord.
01:04:58
Speaker
Okay. A lot of people like to focus on the Antichrist and the Ten Kings and the wicked and yada, yada, yada. I'm just going to give them one chapter today. They're very bad people. They do not deserve our time or attention.
01:05:12
Speaker
Or our awe. All right. Psalm chapter 2, verse 1 to 12.
01:05:23
Speaker
This is an interesting psalm. It talks about the two advents of Jesus. his 33 and a half year life, and when he comes back in the apocalypse. Why do the nations conspire?
01:05:36
Speaker
Now nations are Gentile nations. And the peoples, that's Israel, plot in vain.
01:05:45
Speaker
In, let's start with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, which all familiar with. This is when the Pharisees and Judas Iscariot were conspiring with the Romans to kill Jesus.
01:06:00
Speaker
The kings of the earth take their stand, they're Gentiles, and the rulers, or the judges, that's Israel, gather together against the Lord and against his Mounted One.
01:06:12
Speaker
Let us break their chains, they say, and throw off their fetters. So that happened 2,000 years ago when they joined forces to crucify Christ.
01:06:24
Speaker
In the end times, You will also have evil Israelites working alongside Gentile nations in the hope of turning the world against Jesus.
01:06:38
Speaker
They'll try to make Jesus a forbidden word. If you worship him, have a global debt penalty. um And you'll get everyone into worship of the Antichrist.
01:06:51
Speaker
The one enthroned in heaven last. This is God's response. Good one. The Lord scoffs at them. i love this. Then he rebukes them in his anger. i believe God's going doing this to a lot of politicians on the earth right now.
01:07:08
Speaker
a as well as in the future. And terrifies them in his wrath, saying, I have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill.
01:07:19
Speaker
King Jesus in geographical history. Zion. In a physical temple, on a physical mountain, in a physical city, in a physical country.
01:07:31
Speaker
lot of people read Psalms and they just try to make everything sound like it's in heaven. Or every reference to Jacob, Israel, Zion, Jerusalem. They try to make it elastic.
01:07:42
Speaker
Like, this could be where I live. No, it's a prophecy. I'll proclaim the decree of the Lord. He said to me,
01:07:53
Speaker
You are my son. That sounds like something he would tell Jesus, yes. Today I become your father. Ask of me and I'll make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
01:08:07
Speaker
You will rule them with an iron scepter. You will dash them to pieces like propp like pottery. This is God telling Jesus, go to earth, beat the living daylights out of the wicked.
01:08:20
Speaker
The earth is yours. You're the king of all of us.
01:08:26
Speaker
Therefore, you kings, be wise. Be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.
01:08:36
Speaker
Kiss the sun, lest he be angry with you and you be destroyed in your way. For his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
01:08:47
Speaker
So in this, all the nations are going to encircle around Israel at the end of the Great Tribulation. They're going to go to a place called Megiddo.
01:08:59
Speaker
Perhaps some of you have heard of Armageddon, the Battle of Armageddon, the last battle of the Tribulation. They're going meet there for the war to end all wars, with one exception.
01:09:12
Speaker
And Jesus is going to come out of heaven. And he is going to absolutely smash and thrash all the Antichrist forces, the whole wicked shabang lot of them, and rescue the nation that he came to 2,000 years ago.
01:09:32
Speaker
I hope I'm not going to surprise end the Bible for any of you when I say Jesus builds wind the apocalypse. The Bible does not end with Jesus dying again.
01:09:43
Speaker
And Psalm 9, three to six talks about his victory. says, my enemies turn back. They stumble and perish before you. You have upheld my rights and my cause.
01:09:56
Speaker
You've sat on your throne, judging righteously. You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked. You have blotted out their name for forever and ever. Endless ruin has overtaken the enemy.
01:10:09
Speaker
You have uprooted their cities. Even the memory of them has perished. They will have such a total defeat.
01:10:19
Speaker
And the survivors will not even remember their names. That's how good the world is going to be when Jesus rules and reigns from a geographical location on the earth. Psalm 50, verse 3.
01:10:36
Speaker
Our God, Jesus, comes and will not be silent. When he comes into heaven, everyone's going to hear it. A fire devours before him.
01:10:51
Speaker
There come in a tempest of fire. And around him, a tempest rages.
01:11:01
Speaker
Psalm 82, 1 to 8. one to eight
01:11:06
Speaker
Here, Jesus is talking to and judging people who thought that they were gods and demons who thought that they were gods.
01:11:17
Speaker
God presides in the great assembly. Our God is Jesus. He gives judgment among the gods. How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?
01:11:28
Speaker
Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. We need justice, Jesus, justice. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
01:11:42
Speaker
They know nothing. They understand nothing. They walk about in darkness. All the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, you are gods.
01:11:54
Speaker
Really? having a laugh? You are all the sun's most high. We will die like mere men. You will fall like every other ruler. Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations your inheritance.
01:12:09
Speaker
So he looks at all these demons who had notions of being better than they were. He looks at humans who had notions of being better than they were.
01:12:21
Speaker
And every single one of them ends up in the pit.
01:12:29
Speaker
All right, Psalm 104, 35.
01:12:34
Speaker
But may sinners vanish from the earth. think I said sinners. That's that word. Sinners vanish from the earth. And the wicked be no more. Psalm 110, This is the most quoted Old Testament prophecy in the New Testament. It's very, very important.
01:12:57
Speaker
The Lord, God, says to my Lord, Jesus... Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. So after Jesus ascended into heaven, God said, sit beside me, son.
01:13:13
Speaker
I'm going to destroy every single one of your enemies. And when I have them all good and entrapped, good and ensnared, you can head on down to the earth, kill a lot of them and become king of the earth. The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, a physical geographical location, not a metaphor.
01:13:31
Speaker
You will rule in the midst of your enemies. Your troops will be willing on your day of battle, arrayed in holy majesty. From the womb of the dawn, you will receive the dew of your youth.
01:13:43
Speaker
The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind. You're a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. That's the name Jesus used when he introduced himself to Abraham.
01:13:56
Speaker
The Lord is at your right hand. He will crush kings on the day of his wrath. He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.
01:14:07
Speaker
He will drink from a brook beside the way. Therefore, he will lift up his head. So he's going to lead the heavenly host to make toast of all the wicked, evil humans who try to destroy the nation of Israel and who try to blot out his name.
01:14:26
Speaker
Does that sound harsh? Yes. But we are talking about people who've literally gotten to the mark of the beast. We're talking about people who've made a covenant with the devil. And there whatever the worst, when you think of the worst person ever, whatever comes to mind, times it by 10.
01:14:43
Speaker
That's the people we're dealing with here.
01:14:47
Speaker
Then Psalm 149, 6 to 9. six to nine May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands. And Jesus will have a double-edged sword when he comes back to the earth. We're told that Revelation 19.
01:15:03
Speaker
To inflict vengeance on the nations, evil Gentiles, and punishment on the peoples, evil Israelites. and To bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, to carry out the sentence written against them.
01:15:22
Speaker
This is the glory of all the saints, that Jesus hates evil and he actually deals with the issue of sin once and for all.
01:15:37
Speaker
After he's done that, and the wicked are no more.
01:15:45
Speaker
The Antichrist is dead. The ten kings under him are dead. They're slave drivers, they're human traffickers, they're pornographers, you know, who kidnapped women and children and made them perform sex acts. After all, they were dead.
01:16:06
Speaker
Jesus would establish a kingdom called the Messianic Millennial Kingdom. Messianic comes from Messiah. He's the chosen one, he's the anointed one, the foretold one.
01:16:19
Speaker
And millennial because it will last 1,000 years. He will create paradise on earth, a kingdom from his temple, in Zion, in Jerusalem, in Israel, but will rule the whole world for 1,000 years.
01:16:38
Speaker
Psalm 9, 7-12 describes him as the perfect king. Psalm 45, 1-17 says,
01:16:50
Speaker
describes Jesus as a bridegroom, entering into a covenantal marriage, if you will, with the nation of saved Israel, his bride.
01:17:01
Speaker
We the are the body of Christ. Israel is the bride
01:17:08
Speaker
of Christ. Psalm 46, describes him creating world peace once and for all.
01:17:18
Speaker
In Psalm 49, 15, it speaks of a resurrection. At the start of this kingdom, every Old Testament saint, I'm talking matt and from Genesis to Malachi, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, early Acts, all the Old Covenant believers will be resurrected.
01:17:42
Speaker
And any believers who died or are martyred, killed for their faith, during the Great Tribulation will also be resurrected. We, the body of Christ, will not come back to earth. We will be in heaven forever.
01:17:56
Speaker
But those who came before us, the saints, not the damned, and those saints who came after us will all be resurrected to live in that earth.
01:18:08
Speaker
Um... Now, after resurrection, no resurrected people will ever get married or reproduce or have kids. They're going to live like as bachelors and bachelorettes.
01:18:20
Speaker
But they will live and just enjoy Jesus and fulfill the purpose he has for them in new resurrected bodies.
01:18:33
Speaker
In Psalm chapter 50, verse 3, it talks about the gathering Israelites.
01:18:40
Speaker
Israelites will have been scattered all across the earth. You know, for work, a slavery, refugees. He's going to bring all of them back home to live in their nation.
01:18:57
Speaker
In Psalm 65, 9 to 13, it describes him restoring the natural realm. I don't know if you have read the Book of Revelation, but it's pretty grisly, and the physical realm basically gets destroyed. and The earth will look very, very desolate.
01:19:15
Speaker
But that's not the way he ever wanted the world to look. So he supernaturally reinvigorates it, makes it full of life and vitality again. He rebuilds Jerusalem, which will be the city that he rules and reigns from, as in Psalm 69.
01:19:35
Speaker
34 36. to 17 describes this kingdom as unending.
01:19:46
Speaker
It will endure for as long as the earth does, which will be 1,000 years.
01:19:54
Speaker
All the kings, all the politicians ruling the other nations, um will, because the government will still exist, politics will still exist, will meet him, bow before him, kiss him, and bring him tribute.
01:20:09
Speaker
They will recognize him as the king over everything. The problem today is we have politicians who either don't believe in a god, or they believe they are god, or they worship the devil of God.
01:20:22
Speaker
We have a combination of all three. Blasam 76, 11 to 12 said that these kings will recognize that he is over them and will give him the tribute that he's due.
01:20:37
Speaker
He'll be worshipped by everyone. All peoples, Jews, all nations, the Gentiles in Psalm 102 verses 21 to 22.
01:20:51
Speaker
Anyone who needs physical healing will get it. That's in Psalm 103. three where he heals all their diseases and all of their um health afflictions anything that they sustained during the apocalypse he'll see to it resurrection and promotion that's in psalm 113 7-9 people that he brings back to life will sit with princes and
01:21:25
Speaker
People he brings back to life may themselves, and depending on who they are and his purpose for them, find themselves in positions of leadership and governorship.
01:21:38
Speaker
Psalm 128.6 says that you will see your you'll live to see your grandchildren. Now that might not sound very amazing to us, you know, it's pretty normal. But if you counterbalance it with Isaiah 65.20, it says anyone who dies...
01:21:52
Speaker
it says any one who dins aged 100, people will assume that they're cursed because their lifespan will be extended. to die at 100 would be to die young. I mean, today, if someone dies, i don't know, maybe in their seventy s we say that they died young.
01:22:11
Speaker
These people will live until they're 100, and that's young, and then live beyond that.
01:22:18
Speaker
Psalm 147, 2 to says he heals the broken-hearted All those who are in need of soul healing, maybe they were displaced geographically through due to war or trafficking or their house got blown up or they had to escape from the forces the mark the beast and you know their hearts it's got so damaged or their minds or their will, he will restore them in the inner man, restore them on the inside.
01:22:55
Speaker
And it will be like that for 1,000 years. Doesn't that just sound like the best kingdom anyone could ever be part of? I mean, hello. But after 1,000 years, Satan gets up to no good again. Now, it's not that he's behaving for a millennium. He's locked away in Tartarus in a prison dimension.
01:23:13
Speaker
But he gets out. And he wastes no time in running around the earth. Rounding up people to war against the Lamb of God, to war against Jesus.
01:23:29
Speaker
Personally, i assume anyone who gets resurrected to live will remain faithful to the Lord. But you will have baby booms and population explosions all across the earth. You're going to people living for...
01:23:46
Speaker
you know, hundreds of years, and up to perhaps millennium, you're going to have lots and lots and lots of people on the earth. Massive events.
01:23:59
Speaker
And Satan is going to convince the vast majority of them to turn against Jesus and to try to kill him and his holy city.
01:24:11
Speaker
A lot of people today say, if God's real, why did he disappear? Well, he did and we crucified him. And when he comes next, but but still not really going to do all that much because hell, human nature.
01:24:26
Speaker
And he whips up an army more numerous than the sand on the seashore. And they come to to kill Jesus and his city once and for all.
01:24:40
Speaker
Revelation 20, 7 to describes it. And as does Psalm 121, verses 7 to 8. A lot of people think all these end time prophecies are hidden in Revelation. Like, I don't understand that book.
01:24:55
Speaker
They're hidden all throughout the Bible. But Psalm especially is very, very prophetic.
01:25:01
Speaker
And it says, the Lord will keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
01:25:14
Speaker
Even in the day of the very last battle, the Lord will be right there, still watchful, still vigilant, still ready and willing to fight for his people.
01:25:26
Speaker
And Psalm 143, 12. twelve In your unfailing love, silence my enemies. Destroy all thy foes, for I am your servant.
01:25:40
Speaker
And that is exactly what he will do. Fire will fall from heaven and he will ab absolutely obliterate Satan and all those wicked evil people once and for all in one swift counterattack.
01:25:59
Speaker
So what does the world look like when all the wicked are dead and gone? a Well, it doesn't look like anything for a whole lot longer, to be honest. Looks fiery and then looks gone.
01:26:13
Speaker
Psalm 102, last verse for today, 25 to 28 says, In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth and the heavens of the works of your hand of your hands,
01:26:27
Speaker
They will perish. But you remain. They will all wear out like a garment. You'll roll them up like a scroll.
01:26:39
Speaker
Like clothing, you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same and your years will never end. And might be like, oh my goodness, what happened to other people?
01:26:52
Speaker
the children of your servants will live in your presence. People will be fine. The descendants will be established before you. So he's going to, after that last war, roll up reality, the physical realm, and obliterate it.
01:27:11
Speaker
All the righteous will be in heaven before the Bima throne, where on the Day Judgment, a record will be read. He's to have a book of life, which has your name in it, and a book of deeds.
01:27:33
Speaker
Every good thing you've ever done. And you're going to get blessings for those.
01:27:40
Speaker
Then he's going to read from the book of deeds for the wicked. And judgment day for them will not be very, very good. Every...
01:27:52
Speaker
Me will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, but it will be too late for them. They are the damned. And he will open a portal to a hell dimension called the Lake of Fire reality.
01:28:09
Speaker
And after reading out all of their sins, all their wickedness, he will say, in life you rejected me. Continue on your way.
01:28:20
Speaker
They'll enter into the Lake of Fire dimension, where if Satan is, or the Antichrist is, the false prophet, and the demons. um i imagine every single one of them will try their best to pummel the daylights out of Satan, um but they're responsible for their own decisions.
01:28:40
Speaker
He will close that portal, and they'll never interfere us again. And then he obliterates Heaven. But instantly... recreate heaven and earth.
01:28:56
Speaker
All the righteous Old Testament saints, all the righteous end time saints, all the righteous millennial messianic kingdom saints will live on the earth.
01:29:09
Speaker
We, the body of Christ are a heavenly people, a heavenly citizenry, it's heavenly citizenship. We will live in the recreated heaven. um I so on the end times last year and much of my regret I actually said that all people will go back to earth ourselves included I've since read the word again and and that that was a mistake we the body of Christ will live in heaven forever and ever because we are citizens of the world of heaven will we be ever able to come down to earth for the holidays maybe yeah sure why not But ah heaven is our home.
01:29:51
Speaker
And that is the entire Bible in one hour and 30 minutes, ah according to the book of Sam's.
01:30:02
Speaker
I need a drink.
01:30:05
Speaker
All right, guys. Any thoughts, comments, questions? Go for it. Jake or Naomi's been busy in the chat box. Wow. didn't know that about the canker worm. Had God used that picture. Right. Amazing, huh?
01:30:19
Speaker
Amen to those resurrection bodies. I can't wait at mine.
01:30:25
Speaker
So then when reading these Psalms as Christ of the Cross, do we need to thank God but apply these verses to ourselves? Great question, Omi. So let's say you could...
01:30:38
Speaker
There are some beautiful psalms in there which are just giving praise and glory to the Lord. You know, you can by all means sing those. In fact, so many popular worship and praise songs out there do just lift directly from psalms. I'm all for it.
01:30:54
Speaker
But the problem is when people read certain and prophetic words about like the end times... And they just start trying to pigeonhole it into what they are going through into their life.
01:31:09
Speaker
and You might live through prophetic narrative. You might go through something very similar to something else in the Bible. And you might just feel Holy Spirit saying, this is for you, this is for you, this for you. Declare it, own it, walk in this.
01:31:24
Speaker
I'm all for it. God speaks, sure. But then I see some people and they're like, you know... Bible says this and I prayed it and it didn't happen. And I'm like, yeah, but that's for like, you know, perhaps centuries from now or like, you know, there for over a millennium for now.
01:31:44
Speaker
Like that's never happened for anybody. but but but and And then theyre they are like, know the Bible's fake. I prayed and it didn't happen. But it's a prophetic word but a future event. um So in his sovereignty,
01:32:00
Speaker
Holy Spirit will give you certain verses to apply to your life, to pray into your life, sure. But you can't just pull out random prophecies in the Bible and just try to stick them in where you belong, or try to stick yourself in you don't belong.
01:32:17
Speaker
and So are we more Zion or Israel to understand how to pray these verses because I tend to use a lot my own prayers, but lot. Okay, let's pick random one. Okay.
01:32:36
Speaker
Alright, let's go with the world that it is today. Where you've got wars popping up all the time. Apparently we had like, you know, what a big virus there and no one's got any notice of it because we're all just like, you know, totally fatigued with viruses now. We just don't care.
01:32:52
Speaker
But the world's kind of imploding at the moment. So you could look at Sam chapter 2 where it's an end time prophecy. It's talking about the nations, Gentiles, who are evil.
01:33:06
Speaker
And peoples, evil Jews, conspiring to stop the movement of God. You could say, Lord God, you say in your word that you hate evil.
01:33:20
Speaker
You say that you are rigged against the darkness. You say that you love life. You love peace. You love righteousness. Well, that is not what people in the world stage are doing today. They are trying to bring this earth to the brink.
01:33:34
Speaker
So God. I declare, Psalm chapter 2, over my time, that you scoff at the wicked. You make fun of them. You cheer them.
01:33:45
Speaker
God put a hook in their nose and lead them into their destruction so that the earth may be saved. You could pray that, okay? You could say, well, listen, it's in your word. God hates evil. God loves good. I stand on this.
01:34:00
Speaker
But the reality is this prophecy is about the Great Tribulation. So what some people do is they would try to take that and just try to stick it into the earth today artificially.
01:34:13
Speaker
You can do it as an act of faith. You can do it as declaration of faith.

Scripture Interpretation and Future Plans

01:34:18
Speaker
But it's still important to know in context what it actually refers to. and Because otherwise you end up with people with a wishy-washy hybrid faith where their faith is basically free-for-all.
01:34:31
Speaker
And I would maybe spit out again. But I would suppose none of you have ever heard anyone actually teach the Lucas Ams as a book that reveals Jesus in this way that we've just done.
01:34:45
Speaker
Even with the prophetic parts at the end, I'd wager most of you have never actually heard anyone teach, okay, this actually refers to this, this refers to this, this refers to this. People normally just go, it's just a lovely book of songs.
01:34:59
Speaker
Oh yeah, I read mine every day. but whether it actually stood in what it refers was to, which that's kind of the point of the moment.
01:35:09
Speaker
Hades, thank you, Brenn, for your thoughts as usual. Thanks, Hades. Let's see if that makes sense. Would it be like that for a context? Yeah, it's never heard the concept of prophetic narratives at all. Thanks. No worries, Naomi. we will be we will be looking at them in much, much detail 2027.
01:35:23
Speaker
in um twenty twenty seven for a title ship. um We'll be looking at the end times in particular because it's one that lots of people have questions about and ask me quite regularly.
01:35:39
Speaker
So um we will look at the creation of evil, which we looked at a bit today, but we'll look into more detail in the future. um We'll look at prophetic narratives in the Old Testament of how the devil has tried to bring in the end times all across history.
01:35:54
Speaker
And we'll look at how The end times really kick-started when Jesus and John the Baptist came to the earth. Well, John the Baptist came first, John the Baptist and Jesus.
01:36:06
Speaker
All the way right up until the end of all things and the recreation of reality. um So I know we did a ten-parter ourselves a few years ago, but I'm going do a much more thorough one on Wednesdays next year.
01:36:24
Speaker
Amen. Amen. Alright guys, any more thoughts, comments, queries, questions or observations?

Dinosaurs in the Bible and Conclusion

01:36:49
Speaker
I just have one question but it doesn't have anything to do with the teaching today. Okay. think Go for it. If it's okay.
01:37:00
Speaker
Show me the deep end. So how did the dinosaurs actually die according to the Bible? Sure. Great question. So in Job 41, describes Leviathan, and the biggest a sea creature.
01:37:19
Speaker
One chapter earlier, so Job 40, it describes the behemoth. Or Behemoth. I don't know how it's pronounced. I literally googled pronunciation last week and I still don't know.
01:37:31
Speaker
I've had it open here in front of me. and Job 40, 15. Look at that. I'm going to call it the dinosaur. Because I don't know how to pronounce. B-E-H-E-M-O-T-H. Which I made along with you. and Because land animals and humans are made in day six.
01:37:52
Speaker
and And which feeds on grass like an ox. So it's a massive creature, but it was originally vegetarian.
01:38:02
Speaker
What strength he has in his loins. What power in the muscles of his belly. His tail sweet. Sweet, look at word. I can't remember if I speak.
01:38:13
Speaker
i think ever since I left like English as a foreign language job, my speaking's gone to the dogs. but His tail swings like a cedar tree, so it's massive, chunky, powerful.
01:38:28
Speaker
The sinews of his thighs are close-knit. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. We are describing a dinosaur, people.

He ranks first among the works of God. This is the number one land creature God made. Yet his maker can approach him with his sword.
01:38:52
Speaker
So Jesus can come up to him with a sword? No bother. The same way he chopped Leviathan to peasants. The hills bring him their produce, and all the wild animals play nearby.
01:39:05
Speaker
Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds of the marsh. The lotuses conceal him in their shadow, the poplars by the streams surround him.
01:39:16
Speaker
When the river rages, he's not alarmed. He's secure. Though the Jordan should surge against his mouth. and that So that gives a geographical location of where he was.
01:39:29
Speaker
Can anyone capture him by the eyes or trap him and pierce his nose? So that's a description the dinosaur. So what happens?
01:39:40
Speaker
Well, I'll be honest. I do not trust... ah most people on Earth, and especially those who reject the Lord.
01:39:53
Speaker
So the size of dinosaurs has probably been grossly exaggerated. and in let's say, um you know evolutionist science, old Earth science, um God hating, Bible denying science.
01:40:11
Speaker
and there have There is evidence, actually, that scientists basically gather lots of different fossils and just structure them in a way to make dinosaurs look bigger than they were. So a lot of them were probably smaller to an extent. Okay, the behemoth, behemoth, whatever it is, would have been the largest, most powerful.
01:40:30
Speaker
Most are probably grossly exaggerated. um But when the Great Flood came, you know, only between two and four of every animal got on the Ark.
01:40:43
Speaker
So Noah perhaps chose, like, you know, smaller ones. And the vast majority of creatures got washed away. And so the vast majority them, you know, would have fizzled out over the years as due to changes in environment, due to being hunted by humans, hunted by other creatures.
01:41:07
Speaker
and But then again, the world is a big place and all of it is inhabited. So where you could absolutely and almost undoubtedly do still have creatures that you will not find in any school textbook or a science textbook hidden in the great expanses of nature.
01:41:28
Speaker
And I would actually say... Because I don't trust them. At all. and A lot of evolutionist scientists probably actually know that these creatures exist.
01:41:39
Speaker
They probably know that they're still out there. and But it behooves them not to talk about them. Not to include them in their documentaries. Because that way they can still continue to push the narrative that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old.
01:41:53
Speaker
um I've been on the Earth for 32 and a half years. and All I've seen is the Earth getting closer and closer and closer to its own extinction.
01:42:06
Speaker
and So how the Earth would have survived, you know, for 4.5 billion years on top of that, God only knows. So, nah, the Earth's about 6,000 years old, but most of them were washed away in the great blood.
01:42:18
Speaker
Yeah. But are there still dinosaurs out there? i see no reason why not. now Of course, people say you know crocodiles and and and alligators would be like from the the dinosaur family, is fair enough.
01:42:34
Speaker
But the Sahara Desert and the Amazon rainforest and the likes, there are places out there where you undoubtedly have creatures we still don't have records of.
01:42:45
Speaker
Yeah, exactly exactly. Well, that was actually my thought as well. yeah But thank you for sharing. Yeah.
01:42:54
Speaker
Yeah. And I won't say it was entirely unrelated. Perhaps the references today to the Leviathan just and click something, you know, there was a bit of a a necessary relevant related tandem.
01:43:15
Speaker
