Introduction to Soul Study
00:00:04
Speaker
Okay, guys, thanks for joining this morning. So today we are going to begin our study on the soul.
Essential Topics for Soul Study
00:00:15
Speaker
um I know we normally these days look at the life of David in the Bible, but this is something that God impressed very, very strongly to me not very long ago, and that he wants us to spend couple weeks here, a and he wants us to do it now. Why is that?
00:00:37
Speaker
He knows, I believe very, very strongly, that this will be a word in season two. So we're going to be looking at a variety of topics. What is the soul?
00:00:48
Speaker
What is the spirit? What it means for the soul to have layers or soul parts. People use different terminology. It's the same thing. and We're going to look at how the soul gets wounded, how the soul gets healed and restored.
00:01:09
Speaker
We're to look at deliverance. We're going look at demonic possession and oppression. going look at footholds. We're going strongholds. And we're going to look at the spiritual root of diseases.
00:01:22
Speaker
have So many of the physical afflictions that people go through are actually rooted and grounded in the soul. And if you get the soul healed, those things can and do get broken off.
00:01:35
Speaker
and So there's far too much in that to look in just one session. we'll split over at least two weeks. I don't want to rush through it because it's all vitally important.
00:01:48
Speaker
i like to think every meeting we have is vitally important.
Engagement and Community Interaction
00:01:52
Speaker
But especially with the soul, and i want to give it that space to breathe, and where it's not overwhelming, but everything is presented in a way that's as digestible as possible.
00:02:08
Speaker
So we're going to kick off. And if you have any thoughts, comments, queries or questions on a given topic, a I'll take pauses throughout and you can ask me then.
00:02:24
Speaker
All right. And can you need pen and paper? I'm just here to proof day as well. Okay.
00:02:35
Speaker
All right. So the first... Hi, Mandy. hi mindy Hi, everyone. Brenda, I am praying for your mommy and praying for everyone. Just want you to know I'm here looking after two dogs, so I haven't got pen and paper. So but I know I always watch the when you have a recorded and that. So just like, you know, I'm not taking notes at the moment, but I'm taking it.
00:03:03
Speaker
And that's totally fine. Much appreciated. and Let's enjoy this worship and I enjoy always catching up Amen. Just a quick to let you know, because, you know, sometimes they don't be good at technology and texting and the whole lot. Last Sunday, David decided he wanted to go to church, which I was just online listening to the music. Yeah.
00:03:26
Speaker
Or going on it. I can't remember. And so that's how I didn't get on last Sunday. Whenever I can get blessed that he will go church. That's what I'm not on. And yeah, I missed you last Sunday. but was I did catch up on Monday or Tuesday. i can't remember after talking to Deirdre. So yeah, and we keep her on prayer because she needs a good night's sleep on the night shift. Amen.
Understanding the Soul's Layers
00:03:52
Speaker
Amen. Absolutely. Yes, Lord. Even now, give her a restorative sleep, Lord Jesus, to strengthen her, renew her strength and to empower her, Lord Jesus.
00:04:02
Speaker
to continue serving you by blessing the most vulnerable and beautiful. Amen. Amen.
00:04:14
Speaker
amen Thank you, Brandon. Amen. Let's enjoy this worship. It's going to be good. and we go yeah We'll rejoice. niece's child in Australia yeah my my my niece is child in australia and He's going for major surgery on his palate and his jaw.
00:04:38
Speaker
And he'll need two. My sister's gone over there. and It's a that's Monday their time, but it's really release Sunday night our time of surgery.
00:04:53
Speaker
So we appreciate your prayers for it. and bur so and you did You pray while we're all here and we'll Thank you for sharing that you're there. Amen. i just add We believe that our household is saved and healed.
00:05:19
Speaker
And happy for the children to come to you to heal.
00:05:27
Speaker
and uh we put it around the left perfect surgery and with a little pain afterwards and um that he will sleep and then
00:05:53
Speaker
have no no pain Jesus name. Jesus name. And that mother will have peace.
00:06:07
Speaker
And that's a little anxiety. Just as she was. So this is important to you. and And find your peace and your healing.
00:06:19
Speaker
Healing. So healing for her, for her past. She went through difficult childhood and has um trouble with with her back expect a jesus name
00:06:56
Speaker
Amen. Amen. Amen. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
00:07:10
Speaker
All right, guys. So today we are going to start by looking at the layers of the soul of God.
00:07:21
Speaker
That might not be a phrase you've heard too often before, but it will make sense as we go on. Then we're to look at what exactly it means to be made in God's image. There are a number of things that can mean. We're going to hone in one in particular.
00:07:37
Speaker
and then we're to look at the differences between the body, the soul, and the spirit. It happens very regularly where a Christian makes a mistake.
00:07:51
Speaker
or sins, or they do something, or they say something that they never thought they could possibly say, and all of a sudden they're like, I'm not a real Christian. I'm a bad person.
00:08:04
Speaker
I'm a Christian, but I don't have a spirit. I'm a Christian, but I might go to hell. That's crap. That's because they do not know the difference between the spirit and the soul.
00:08:15
Speaker
So they actually think that every time that they sin or every time they so surprise themselves that they actually are cancelling themselves a that their salvation is somehow getting revoked or something. um So we're going to look into the differences between those two um actually and hopefully bring some ease to your minds.
00:08:39
Speaker
And undoubtedly you're going meet other believers at some point who need to hear this and that will help make it a lot more and make their journey lot smoother, lot safer, and help them to feel more secure in Christ.
00:09:02
Speaker
Alright, so growing up, my brother and I loved watching the movie Shrek. It's a great fairy tale spoof. And there's one scene in particular where Shrek tries to explain to his best friend, Donkey, that...
00:09:17
Speaker
Ogres have layers. They have feelings. Yes, they look ugly and like aliens on the outside, but they do have gentle hearts on the inside. And he says, Ogres are like onions. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers.
00:09:32
Speaker
I think that is a wonderful picture of the soul, where the soul has layers. And the only reason our soul has layers is because we're made in the image of God's Okay, so we worship the triune God. Hope that's not surprise to anybody. The Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.
00:09:53
Speaker
But the thing is, every layer of God, every part of God, every person of God, has unlimited layers in and of himself.
00:10:07
Speaker
That's to say that Father God can multiply himself as many times as he needs to, for whatever his goodwill, purpose, and plans are, Jesus can multiply himself as many times as he needs to.
00:10:20
Speaker
Holy Spirit can multiply himself as many times as he needs to. And every layer is a 100% layer. He's not subdividing himself into 0.5%, 0.00002%. Every layer is a 100%.
00:10:37
Speaker
every layer is only a hundred percent
00:10:42
Speaker
So think of number six, for instance. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you.
00:10:53
Speaker
The Lord turn his face towards and give you peace.
00:10:59
Speaker
That means God has as many faces as he needs to to shine his face on you. So if his face is shining on Kitty and she's on this side own and I'm on the other side own,
00:11:12
Speaker
And Junita is in Finland. And Lisa's in another continent. And Mandy is like 20 minutes down the road from where we are. And Priya is 20 minutes in the other direction.
00:11:26
Speaker
How does God do it all? Well, he will multiply himself as many times as he needs to. And he's there looking at you. Smiling upon
Biblical Omnipresence and the Holy Spirit
00:11:36
Speaker
you. Shining on you.
00:11:38
Speaker
I used to read that and just think, well, God just has one face. He's sitting on his throne and you're just, you're on his mind. You're on his thoughts. But that's not what it says. To make his face shine on you, b he's compelling himself to do it. It's intimate.
00:11:56
Speaker
It's personal. There's a personal interest and a personal investment in the relationship that he has with you. So um he does that for every believer on earth all the time. Now listen, there might be some times when his kid's rocking crazy and maybe he's kind of covering his face thinking, seriously, seriously, face famine.
00:12:21
Speaker
But at the same time, he still loves you completely and he's always looking at you. i think it's funny that Lisa i had that vision of Michael Jackson earlier. I just thought of the fact he was on my slideshow.
00:12:35
Speaker
In Job 7.18, it also says that you should visit humans every morning and test humans every moment. Do you know that every single day, God actually pays you a visit?
00:12:50
Speaker
While he's sitting in heaven, running reality.
00:12:56
Speaker
While he has a face somewhere looking right at you. He multiplies himself. to actually come into your bedroom or your couch or your car, wherever people sleep, in a camper van, in a tent, and looks for that them.
00:13:15
Speaker
Pops his face and it says, good morning, how are you? I love you, rise and shine.
00:13:31
Speaker
Second Chronicles 16, nine says, The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
00:13:45
Speaker
When you're feeling weak, when you're feeling low, when you're feeling lowly, when you're feeling miserable, when you're just having a bad day, the eyes of God go to and fro all around the earth, seeking you out, in search of you. intentional. It's intentional.
00:14:04
Speaker
To give you strength. To say you can do this. To encourage you. What is encourage? It is to put courage in someone. To build you up.
00:14:17
Speaker
To make you stronger.
00:14:21
Speaker
To feel you overflowing with himself.
00:14:30
Speaker
Jesus can also multiply himself. as many times as he needs to. We actually see him do this in the book of Daniel, but a lot of people miss it. A lot of people, when they read the Old Testament and it says God or God Almighty or Melchizedek, they're like, you know, oh, that's just God. They assume it's Father God.
00:14:50
Speaker
It isn't. It's Jesus. Which is what we're looking at in Discipleship Wednesdays. John 1, 18, Jesus says this. No one has ever seen God as the Father.
00:15:03
Speaker
But the one and only son, who is himself God, and is in closest relationship with the father, has made him known.
00:15:13
Speaker
And in John 6, 46, Jesus says, no one has seen the father except he who is from God. He has seen the father. Now, can you see the father today? Yes, Jesus had made a way.
00:15:26
Speaker
But by this stage, in reality, no one has seen father God. But God appears lot in the Old Testament. How?
00:15:38
Speaker
her The sun. People were seeing the sun. Now there's a funny little incident in Daniel 7, 13, 14. Where where Daniel had a vision.
00:15:53
Speaker
And in his vision, he saw the end times. The perilous times. The seven years of great tribulation, the apocalypse, whatever word you want to use, it's all the same thing.
00:16:07
Speaker
Daniel is taken to heaven. And he sees what heaven is like during the apocalypse. And it says, in my vision in the night.
00:16:18
Speaker
So he was asleep. And he was having a dream, but it was real, it was really happening in the future. so it was a vision and a dream. I continued to watch.
00:16:30
Speaker
And I saw one like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven. Jesus.
00:16:40
Speaker
He approached the Ancient of Days. Now again, if no one had ever seen the Father, yeah this is also Jesus. And was led into his presence. So there's a Jesus sitting on a throne.
00:16:54
Speaker
And there's a Jesus coming with clouds. And the Jesus with the clouds literally has to be led in like at a traditional monarchy to the other Jesus sitting on the throne.
00:17:06
Speaker
And he was given dominion, glory, and kingship. What did we sing earlier this morning? then All glory, all honor, all worship, and all praise. Okay, this is Jesus.
00:17:20
Speaker
That the people of every nation and language is certain. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
00:17:31
Speaker
So this is Jesus, the Son of Man, which is the name of Jesus who kills the Antichrist. Talking to Jesus, the Ancient of Days, sitting on a throne. And the two Jesuses begin having a conversation with each other Why? but Well, he is the Word of God. He just loves to talk.
00:17:51
Speaker
So even in heaven, he can multiply himself as many times as necessary. You might think that sounds whack, but when you are in heaven and you're in your mansion and you just want to have a cup of tea in your garden with Jesus Christ, wouldn't you be delighted to know that Jesus can multiply himself and have a one-on-one with you while he's also sitting on the throne running reality?
00:18:16
Speaker
At the same time, he's probably on like a dragon roller coaster with 100 other Christians. And at the same time, he's probably, don't know, planting flowers or something because he just loves gardens. this Garden of Eden, Garden of Schisemene, the Garden Tomb.
00:18:34
Speaker
And at the same time, he's speaking to 10,000 people in a dream on the earth. He can multiply himself as many times as he had to. And no one gets a fraction of him. No one just gets a percentage.
00:18:47
Speaker
It is a 100% layer of him every time. Perfectly and totally complete.
00:18:56
Speaker
The same is true for us right now on the earth. Right now on this Zoom or in the room. Galatians 2.20 My old self has been crucified with Christ.
00:19:07
Speaker
It is no longer I who live, but what? Christ who lives in me. You do not have 1% layer of Jesus.
00:19:19
Speaker
You definitely do not have 0.00005692% of the Ancient of Days, all of us have a one hundred percent layer of jesus while i one hundred percent larry jesusos is on his throne the engine of days While a 100% layer of Jesus is speaking to people in dreams all around the earth right now, is speaking to people in comas all around the earth right now.
00:19:47
Speaker
While a 100% layer of Jesus is grabbing people on a platform to stop them from jumping in front of an oncoming train on the earth right now. While he's speaking to who knows how many humans one-on-one heaven right now he just multiplies himself as many times he has to.
00:20:10
Speaker
Holy Spirit does the same. In Isaiah 11, 2, we're given seven names for Holy Spirit, seven expressions of Holy Spirit.
00:20:24
Speaker
In Revelation 5, 6, you see them physically, metaphysically, standing in front of the throne of God the Father and God the Son. The Father sits on the left, the Son sits on the throne on the right.
00:20:40
Speaker
Seven layers of Holy Spirit are in front of their throne. The same seven that you see in Isaiah 11 too. It doesn't mean that it's Holy Spirit 100% divided by seven.
00:20:55
Speaker
All seven of them are a 100% replication of himself.
00:21:05
Speaker
In the same way, Holy Spirit indwells every believer on the earth. 1 Corinthians 3.16 says, Don't you know, which is Paul's way of saying this is obvious, hu don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and God's spirit dwells in your midst?
00:21:27
Speaker
So 100% layer of Holy Spirit in Kitty. I 100% layer in Catherine. I 100% layer in Deirdre. I 100% layer in Bobby, who lives down the road.
00:21:39
Speaker
I 100% layer in Patrick, who lives in Switzerland. Are there Patricks in Switzerland? I don't know. I 100% layer on all of you in the Zoom. 100% layer on all the Christians around the world who are meeting right now.
00:21:53
Speaker
Not a tiny percentage, not a fraction. Holy Spirit multiplies himself indefinitely to dwell every single one of his kids.
00:22:04
Speaker
And seven of him are before the throne of God and Jesus. And he is the drama king of heaven. he is all around heaven doing whatever he's doing, speaking to whoever he wants to speak to.
00:22:17
Speaker
And he's on the earth right now lulling people into a relationship with him who are ready to be saved. Sam's tells us, if i go to the heights, you're there. If I descend to the grave, you're there. Holy Spirit is literally in hell.
00:22:37
Speaker
Try to get your head around that. Right now, Bukha Sam says it, Holy Spirit's in hell. Because he is everywhere. He is omnipresent. He's not burning. He's not in pain. He's okay. No demons are sticking sword in his belly. He's grand.
00:22:54
Speaker
But because he is omnipotent and omnipresent, he's all-powerful, he's every everywhere, all the time, all at once. Everywhere includes hell.
00:23:06
Speaker
He is everywhere, includes paradise, which is currently vacant. That's where Old Testament saints went. It's empty, but he's there too. He is everywhere, all at once, but he is intimately,
00:23:21
Speaker
i want a 100% layer of himself in every single one of us.
00:23:33
Speaker
Have I lost anybody so far? is that all good? No, just ask one. You know when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we're baptized in the Spirit, and I always thought that You know, if we're Christians, yeah, the Holy Spirit lives in them.
00:23:58
Speaker
But he doesn't live in unbelievers. Yep. But he feels awesome. Okay, yeah, great question. So, when people say baptism of Holy Spirit, they're really thinking like early Bukkabaks.
00:24:15
Speaker
So, and that's where confusion sets in. Yeah. let's say with Jesus' 12 disciples, they did not have Holy Spirit in them when they when Jesus was still alive.
00:24:30
Speaker
He breathed, let's say, power up. He breathed anointing on them, but not Holy Spirit. Then he died and he resurrected. And then he you know was teleporting and walking through doors and walls and everything else. And he supermaned his way into the sky in the ascension.
00:24:46
Speaker
And then he sent Holy Spirit down. So they already believed in Jesus as a person, as the chosen one, as the hero of Israel, as the Lord, as God. They already believed in him before Holy Spirit came down in that upper room.
00:25:04
Speaker
Because Holy Spirit only came down in power at that point. In the abstract, he was everywhere all at once. But that's when he came down as like his assignment, his 2,000 year move on the earth.
00:25:20
Speaker
um So that was true for a time in early in early acts where you could believe and the identity of Jesus, but then you would need leaders to put hands on you and pray Holy Spirit to come in.
00:25:33
Speaker
That was true for a time. But then you get to the Apostle Paul's ministry and things began to change rapidly. We're going to look at this, if not at the end of this year, next year. Because God's really been impressing it on me to do this in detail. i Look at the differences, how things evolved, how they changed. and Paul is the one who had the revelation that the second you first believe, Holy Spirit enters in there and then.
00:26:05
Speaker
So you no longer need someone to lay hands on you. You no longer need a special Holy Spirit service. It happens instantaneously so there are churches today sadly which literally teach that you can be a christian and not have holy spirit that is theological barbarism is it's heretical it's it's nasty actually is what it is um what they're doing is they're putting all the power on the human you only have a holy spirit if you attend our church
00:26:43
Speaker
You only have Holy Spirit if you're tithing to ma to my bank account. You only have Holy Spirit if you are and a member of my church and you're there 50 out of 52 weeks a year and you're on this ministry and that ministry.
00:26:59
Speaker
It's theologically nasty. It's abusive. a So no, every believer now has Holy Spirit immediately, instantaneously. Are there times when you will have, when he'll take up more space?
00:27:14
Speaker
Absolutely. Are there times when he will thrust so much gunk out of you and fill that space? Sure. Are there times when you will just feel his sweet touch all the more? Yes.
00:27:30
Speaker
When he's moving in and through you with more freedom? 100%. But for us as a body of Christ, the second you first believe, he comes on in.
00:27:41
Speaker
Because the word of God is released to you. And Holy Spirit is telling your heart, go on, say yes. Invite Jesus in. Believe he's the Lord. Believe he's the Savior.
00:27:53
Speaker
Believe in the cross. A finished work. All done with. Come on, kid. Believe this. He's the one who's talking to your heart. When you say, yes, I believe Jesus is Lord, he enters in.
00:28:05
Speaker
Because he's the one who actually convinced you. And you allowed yourself to be convinced by him.
00:28:13
Speaker
Yeah, so the whole baptism of the spirit idea, it was true for a time when God's focus was the nation of Israel.
00:28:24
Speaker
But when a lot of Christians use it now, I'm not saying everyone who says the expression is bad. yeah I'm not. But I have heard it used by church leaders in a way that's actually spiritually abusive.
00:28:37
Speaker
That just gives them and power over their congregants. And a way of saying, well, there are believers who don't have Holy Spirit, which is theologically wrong. There are believers who do have him.
00:28:51
Speaker
If you come to our church, you're going to get him. But it it's it's nasty. it's It's dangerous is what it is.
Personal Experiences with Spiritual Control
00:29:01
Speaker
All right. There are believers who don't have... That's what some pastors teach. But it's errant. It's wrong. You have to have Holy Spirit. Well, you see, if you don't have Holy Spirit, you're not a Christian.
00:29:15
Speaker
When you believe that Jesus died for all of your sins, and when I say all people, I mean all. A-E-L-L. That... a does The old is gone, the new has come.
00:29:28
Speaker
But you're new creation, that he is the Lord. He is the master. He is the boss. When you believe that, you are saved. And Holy Spirit enters in straight away.
00:29:41
Speaker
But the danger is that there are pastors who teach that you can get saved and not have Holy Spirit. But you only have Holy Spirit when they decide you have it.
00:29:53
Speaker
I've sat in churches or churches. where that has been said before, and I have watched hundreds of congregants like, see butra look i lost my mind.
00:30:09
Speaker
I was livid. I just said this is dark and twisty. So no, so long as you believe in the finished work of the cross,
00:30:20
Speaker
a and the empty grave and that Jesus Lord, you're saved and Holy Spirit dwells within you. You don't need any other person to magically put Holy Spirit in you.
00:30:31
Speaker
You don't need the baptism in the Spirit. No, because it happens automatically. and Holy Spirit will enter into you and bring your dead spirit to life the second you believe anyway.
00:30:46
Speaker
So what people do is they just look at what happened in early acts and they try to manufacture experiential Christianity. They try to manufacture an experience rather than actually resting in the goodness of God.
00:31:05
Speaker
Yeah, I heard said that Billy Graham wasn't speaking at all. It'll be fine. There are 20 spiritual gifts.
00:31:17
Speaker
that the apostle paul mentions and he specifically says do all prophesy no do all speak in tongues no do all teach no um we need all the gifts in operation what pentecostals do is they put tongues on a pedestal which is also dangerous um There are churches who say if you don't speak in tongues, you're not a Christian.
00:31:46
Speaker
That is evil theology. That would be like me saying, if you do not teach the word of God, you're not a Christian. That would be heretical, be evil.
00:32:00
Speaker
That would be like, and basically what happens is leaders, they prioritize their own gifts and they post their own gift forward. So if you go to a church where all the leaders are pastors and evangelists and they say the only gifts are pastoring and evangelism.
00:32:22
Speaker
It's not true. If you go to a church where the leaders are tongue talkers and they say you have to speak in tongues, you're not a real Christian. Not true. If you go to a church that loves money and they say if you don't have the gift of financial generosity, you're not a real Christian.
00:32:40
Speaker
That's a cult. If you go to a church and they say, we believe in healing because we all have the gifts of healing. And if you don't heal people with your shadow, you're not a real Christian.
00:32:52
Speaker
Lies. We all have different gifts. And what God wants is for all the gifts to come together to complement each other. Where what one person has will bless someone who doesn't have it.
00:33:06
Speaker
But the gifts they have will bless what I don't. Because God does not want lone wolf Christianity. By lone wolf, I mean people who are, you know, i don't need anyone. I don't need church.
00:33:20
Speaker
I am sufficient. I have a personal relationship with Jesus. It is Jesus and me. Nonsense. God wants his people to live in unity. He wants his people to live together, to work together, to praise together, to work together, to pray together.
00:33:36
Speaker
um And he's strategically set that up to keep people working, to keep people collaborating. When you like God's people and when you don't, when they're the best in the world and when they drive you crazy.
00:33:51
Speaker
And he intentionally does not give any person all 20 gifts. Because he wants his people to co-labor together, to co-build.
00:34:02
Speaker
It will stretch you, it will frustrate you, it will grow you, it will drive you nuts. It will bring out the best and the worst of you. But when it brings out the worst of you, you deal with it. when it brings out the best, you press on, you press into that.
00:34:17
Speaker
and So no, what some churches do is they push one or two gifts in particular and then they say, oh yeah, those gifts aren't for today. Oh yeah, we don't like those gifts. Oh yeah, women can't do those, only the men.
00:34:31
Speaker
Oh, you're too young for that gift? Only the old people do it. But it's all just human control. Yeah. Yeah. The Spirit gives whatever gift he wants to, to him everyone wants to.
00:34:44
Speaker
The church is that one, that I took them in Dundalk. I need to be there because the fellowship. I don't like teaching to be honest. It freaks me out about the same time you keep going on about know was it. They want me there.
00:35:06
Speaker
Otherwise, don't have fellowship in Dundalk. kind of have to and i kind of have it begged them nearly to let me let me come here you know? Right. No, okay, right. No, get the control.
00:35:26
Speaker
No, and I understand how easily church leaders can use and abuse a platform to get control over the people. you see it in politics all the time.
00:35:39
Speaker
um I'm a karate kid and I have to say karate for a martial art that is built on discipline. and I found senseis to be some of the most undisciplined, backbiting, gossipy, nasty people I've ever met in my life.
00:35:57
Speaker
and I see that anyone in a position of power and Not that the power is evil, but the people's hearts are evil. And they can use and abuse it and use abuse the people. And I can see how easy it can happen in a church. Someone gets an idea of what they want church to look like.
00:36:15
Speaker
Someone gets an idea of what m they want people to know. What they don't want people to know. someone gets an idea of the degree of exposure they want people to have and what they want them to be clueless about.
00:36:33
Speaker
They want something that is very...
00:36:38
Speaker
kind of works like clockwork where it suits the people and their agendas and their timetables and their after-church dinner plans and restaurants. If they let Holy Spirit in, things might go a bit crazy.
00:36:52
Speaker
So I can see very easily how... Church leaders can go crazy and be territorial and get nasty. But at the end of the day, we have one master, one Lord, and it's Jesus.
00:37:07
Speaker
And it is never okay for one of his servants to overstep in that respect in a way that actually misuses people's hearts, uses the people, and abuses their trust.
00:37:23
Speaker
Yeah. And... And just because someone makes a mistake doesn't mean that they will only ever make that mistake. They're not limited to that mistake. God can redeem them, can refine them.
00:37:35
Speaker
But no, if someone is under the thumb of a man or woman's control, you seriously need to pray, God, is that a relationship I should have?
00:37:46
Speaker
Or do I need a serious detachment? um Because and I personally would rather be alone Than be yoked to the wrong people.
00:38:00
Speaker
as Especially those who are spiritually abusive. And I've been in that situation many times in my life. And there absolutely been times where. and I looked at what some Christians were saying and doing.
00:38:13
Speaker
I just said, God, you want me to Or should I go? he said, go. and sometimes I didn't know what plan B was. Sometimes I didn't know where I would end up.
Creation of Human Souls and Their Roles
00:38:25
Speaker
But I knew I could not sit under the oppressive thumb of any person. Especially in a church session. And so if you ever get those kind of feelings about a Christian, you need to pray, God, is there someone that I should be sitting under?
00:38:42
Speaker
And that's not me telling you one or the other. yeah I was amazing. It's just and I have a few good friends and they do to direct me. I don't have family or children or anybody in the church So I have just these few people and they're very committed to that church. And they're very, question very They give me good guidance. But it's clearly you have to get the permission to go somewhere else for a few weeks.
00:39:17
Speaker
Right. a bit Yeah. Yeah. No, I'd say in that situation, the kids would say pray. a because you need to,
00:39:31
Speaker
what you want to find in Jesus and the family of Jesus is freedom. Not freedom, you're like, I'm gonna do what I want, because I'm 21st century you woman, but actual freedom. um And structure is good, but not stricture.
00:39:47
Speaker
And that's something God said to me years ago. I was in a lot of ministries, had one ministry where I had about, don't know if it was 30, 40, 50 young people under me.
00:39:59
Speaker
i And I had the potential to have a lot of influence, a lot of power, um the potential to set a lot of people up to win in life.
00:40:12
Speaker
But... The director of the ministry that I was under had a bad attitude, a stinking attitude. Could be the best in the world in some respects, but did not own their attitude.
00:40:27
Speaker
It was rotten and could be nasty and spiritually abusive. And I said, God, I want to stay in this ministry because there's there's so much good I could do. There's so many people I could help.
00:40:40
Speaker
But... That person is driving me crazy. and I remember one day I literally arrived to lead the ministry. I think, let's say starting time was 8pm.
00:40:57
Speaker
I got there at 7pm and I stood outside the gate of the church for an hour. I couldn't go in.
00:41:08
Speaker
I stood outside the gate for an hour. red in the face at how that leader was making me feel. Frustrated, angry, spiteful, bitter, resentful.
00:41:21
Speaker
And I said, God, I can't go in and until calm down.
00:41:28
Speaker
And ah it so so took me an hour, full hour to calm myself down. And then I went in. And it was very soon after that, God gave me a dream. And in the dream, I remember I was going on a bus, a double-decker bus, which was the ministry.
00:41:44
Speaker
And the bus driver said, okay, that's 1,300 euros for a ticket, please. And I said, are you broken? 1,300 euro for a bus ticket. Good one.
00:41:57
Speaker
and I refused to get on. And I woke up and I said, God.
00:42:03
Speaker
Nonsense. And God said that double-decker bus is that ministry. A lot of people are on it. A lot of potential for power, for influence, for movement, for going places.
00:42:16
Speaker
But the cost for you will be too great. If you stay, you will lose your peace. You will lose your sanity. You will lose your mind. You will lose your well-being.
00:42:29
Speaker
You will ultimately lose your reputation because you're goingnna blow your mind at some point. The cost for you to stay is too much because those leaders, they ain't changing.
00:42:41
Speaker
They are who they are. They are who they've chosen to be. So Brendan, walk away. Just just leave. And that's what I had to do. a Love the people.
00:42:52
Speaker
Love the position. I'll be honest. I love the fact that people knew my name because of that ministry. It was kind of good for the ego. But it was bad. It was really bad spiritually in the long term.
00:43:05
Speaker
So in that case, you need to pray and say, OK, God, speak to me very, very clearly, very evidently. Are these friends that i friendships I should maintain outside of being in the same fellowship as them?
00:43:21
Speaker
Or is it possible to actually stay there? Are things going to improve or that actually detrimental for hours?
00:43:35
Speaker
Alright guys, so just as God's soul and Jesus and Holy Spirit have unlimited layers in of themselves, so does the human soul. And what happens is people can control the soul.
00:43:52
Speaker
Demons can destroy the soul. Your sin can wound your soul. Soul parts can get left or stuck on other people. The soul is a funny thing, but it was made in the image of God.
00:44:04
Speaker
In Genesis 1, 26 to 27, we're told, let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and the livestock and all the wild animals and over all the creatures that move along the ground.
00:44:28
Speaker
So God created mankind in his image, in image, Of God, he created them. Male and female, he created them.
00:44:41
Speaker
So we were made to lead. We were made to rule. We were made to show Jesus. We were made to show his glory. were made to show his leadership. We were made to take dominion.
00:44:55
Speaker
And in the same way, we were also made in his image. And because his soul unlimited parts, It's the same with us.
00:45:07
Speaker
Because his spirit has unlimited layers. It's the same with us.
00:45:17
Speaker
So Psalm 139 talks about when Jesus made Adam, the first man. and it says that he made him underground. Verse 14 to 18. I praise you because I'm fearfully and wonderfully made.
00:45:32
Speaker
Your works are wonderful. I know that. Well, I don't have it out. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth, underground, in your underground workshop.
00:45:50
Speaker
A lot of people hear that Jesus made Adam from the dust and they just picture Jesus scooping up some dust from the ground. No, is the dust underground. That's why Jesus is the second Adam or the last Adam. First Adam was made underground and came up.
00:46:06
Speaker
Jesus was buried underground and came up.
00:46:10
Speaker
You saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God, how vast is the sum of them.
00:46:24
Speaker
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I'm still with you. That is Adam's psalm to Jesus.
00:46:35
Speaker
So after Adam's physical body was made underground, Jesus dug him up. And then the Lord God, and Jesus is our Lord, forms a man to dust the ground and breathe into his nostrils.
00:46:50
Speaker
Hear me now, this is Hebrew. The breath of lines A lot of English translations of the Bible say life. It is not singular. Hebrew is plural. The breath of lives.
00:47:02
Speaker
That's a soul and a spirit. And the man became a living being. That's Genesis 2.7. So Jesus has souls and spirits in him. Has the soul and spirit of humans in him.
00:47:17
Speaker
And breathed Adam's soul and spirit into Adam. In Jeremiah 38, 16, it says, as surely as the Lord lives, who has made for us a soul, I'll neither kill you nor hand you over to those who want to kill you.
00:47:34
Speaker
God the Father also is the maker of the soul. God the Father has human souls in him. I believe that's why he's called the Father of the heavenly lights, of their souls.
00:47:48
Speaker
Made for us a soul means he has given us breath, Vitality. Life. Emotion. Personage. Self.
00:48:00
Speaker
Passion. Appetite. A living being. An inner being. How's going? Personhood. The animating life force.
00:48:11
Speaker
The inner self with its thoughts and its desires. Good being. Very nice. So here we have Father God has souls of humans within him.
00:48:25
Speaker
And then in Luke 1, 35, you don't normally hear this until December, the angel Gabriel answered to Mary, Holy Spirit will come on you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
00:48:40
Speaker
So the Holy One to be born will be called the Bond of God. So this is Holy Spirit's going to ascend on Mary, sorry, descend on Mary, and she's going to get pregnant with Jesus.
00:48:52
Speaker
And Matthew 1.20 says the same. But after he'd considered this, this is Joseph now, he heard Mary's gotten pregnant. He's thinking, oh my goodness, she's a slag. I'm going to break it off with her.
00:49:05
Speaker
And an angel of the Lord, Gabriel, appeared him in a dream and said, Joseph, son of David. That's the same David that we're studying most Sundays. He's of the same lineage. Do not be afraid to take Mary home with your wife.
00:49:19
Speaker
Because she's not a slut. She's not cheating on you. She hasn't biblically known 12 men before you. Because what is conceived in her is from Holy Spirit.
00:49:31
Speaker
So here we have Jesus has human souls and spirits in him. Father God has human souls in him. And Holy Spirit has done the same with Jesus.
00:49:45
Speaker
So souls and spirits all originate in the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
00:49:53
Speaker
Now 1 Thessalonians 5.23 says, May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify through and through, completely, 100%. hundred percent May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. That means on the day of the rapture when he takes all of us to heaven without dying.
00:50:17
Speaker
This is the verse that shows very clearly that the soul and spirit are different, that they're unique entities. A lot of Christians use soul and spirit interchangeably to their detriment.
00:50:35
Speaker
I do not know how many Christians I've spoken to over the years who thought a soul and spirit were the same thing. So if they made a mistake,
00:50:48
Speaker
If they sinned, if they did something evil, if they did something with somebody that they should not have done, all of a sudden they're like, I'm a bad Christian. I'm not saved. I'm going to go to hell and yadda yadda yadda. They lose their mind.
00:51:04
Speaker
And that's because they don't know the difference between a spirit and a soul.
00:51:12
Speaker
Hebrews 4.12 also shows you their difference. For the word of God, the Bible, words of knowledge, words of wisdom, prophetic words, is active and alive.
00:51:27
Speaker
Sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates, even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
00:51:40
Speaker
The word of God is so sharp, it can literally separate the things that you think from your attitudes. What's the difference? You will be walking down the road, see an old woman at a bus stop and think, could push her in front of a bus and no one would know.
00:51:59
Speaker
Not a nice thing, but it's a thought. An attitude issued is something that's more stable, more common, more deeply cemented. And that's when you think, I could push that woman in front of a bus and no one would know. I've already done it 10 times before.
00:52:15
Speaker
Then it's ah there's a pattern. So the word of God is so sharp, souls and spirits can be separated. Joints and marrow, your inner man, you're in the fit in the natural, you're in the physical, and then the thoughts that you just had for an instant, and the thoughts that have actually become a stable part of your personality.
00:52:42
Speaker
Your body... is obviously the physiological part of you, the part we can all see.
00:52:50
Speaker
It's world conscious. It relates to environment. Right now, I can touch this glass. It's part of my world. Or I can touch this plastic and the rubber from the remote control of the TV.
00:53:05
Speaker
Or I can touch whatever mobile mobile phones are made from. Or won't, but if wanted to, I could touch everyone here who's in the house.
00:53:17
Speaker
If I wanted to, i could go outside this door, well, it's a window, and put my hands on tarmac, or I go back door and touch grass. That's the physical body, it's physiological, it relates to the environment that you're in.
00:53:32
Speaker
The soul has three parts. Your mind, your will, and your emotions. It's your psychological self.
00:53:45
Speaker
It's more self-conscious. The soul's number one preoccupation is me, me, me. me me me me me me What I want, what I feel, what I believe, what I'm in the mood for, what I have no intention of doing.
00:54:05
Speaker
And it's through that conscious self, that psychological self, that you relate to others. This person white likes the same things that I do, so I talk to them.
00:54:19
Speaker
That person likes someone in TV land that I despise, so therefore I hate that person. That person posted something funny on Instagram, I want to be their friend.
00:54:34
Speaker
The spirit is about your intuition. Your conscience. Communion. It's your spiritual body.
00:54:46
Speaker
So your soul lives in your spirit. Your spiritual body. When you're in heaven, you're in a spiritual body. Your soul is in your spirit. and And it has God consciousness.
00:54:59
Speaker
It's a part of you that relates to God. Or if you're not a Christian, it doesn't. But it might look to relate to other wicked things. So your body is physical.
00:55:12
Speaker
It relates to the physical environment that you're in.
00:55:18
Speaker
Your soul is your psychological self. That's how you emotionally relate to others.
00:55:27
Speaker
Your spirit is your spiritual self. It's a part of you that you have your nature, I suppose, that's most like God and relates to him. When you get a word, don't trust that person. They're dangerous.
00:55:43
Speaker
That is God speaking to your spirit, man. When you have a dream and God is telling you, cut that out, start that, take that up, worship me more, deal with that unforgiveness issue, that's God speaking to your spirit.
00:56:01
Speaker
When you're reading the Bible and something jumps out at you and you're like, oh my goodness, this is for me, that's God speaking to your spirit.
00:56:50
Speaker
Okay, so when it comes to what I call Holy Spirit downloads, Holy Spirit will speak to your spirit man.
00:57:08
Speaker
revelation from the Bible. You read something and a light bulb goes on. Something just clicks. Or there's one word and you're like, ah this speaks into my situation. This speaks directly into my circumstance. I love this. And you start highlighting it and underlining.
00:57:28
Speaker
It can be a word of knowledge that someone gives. Sometimes God will just tell me something about someone's life I'll just say, oh God, that's very edgy. I don't know if that's really appropriate.
00:57:40
Speaker
And I'll just say, listen, I believe God's given me a word for you. blah la la la la bottle And they're like, oh my goodness, how did you know? It can be a word of wisdom.
00:57:51
Speaker
Maybe someone has, not put it this way, word knowledge, it's information. Wisdom is application. So maybe someone tells me, oh, I'm starting a business, but it's been very slow.
00:58:07
Speaker
And God will just give you a word of wisdom and just say, okay, you know what? Instead of looking to that demographic of people to buy your product, how about you reach out to those people over there?
00:58:24
Speaker
He gives you a strategy.
00:58:29
Speaker
When the word has been given to your spirit, then it's filtered through your soul.
00:58:36
Speaker
That's when you have to think about it. And you say, okay, well, God said this
00:58:43
Speaker
Do I have any intention in the slightest in obeying him?
00:58:50
Speaker
God gave me a word once. It was a friend, a dear friend. And I had a dream when God just told me, yeah, that friend you love so much, the drama queen, stop talking to her. And I was like, uh, oh, okay.
00:59:05
Speaker
So I did stop talking to her instantly, actually. um I tried to be polite about it. I didn't send any angry messages like, God told me you're a horrible person. No, not that. I just walked away.
00:59:21
Speaker
And then about nine months later, he gave me another dream. And that dream, he said, Brendan, she's going to phone you today. Answer the phone and pick up where you left off.
00:59:34
Speaker
And I thought, and are you messing So I wrote down the dream, interpret the dream, didn't need an interpretation, it was very obvious. And a few minutes later, ring, ring, ring, ring ring ring my phone rings and it's her. like whats So I put the phone on silent and I put it under my pillow and I said I couldn't hear it. but Because I had gotten used to her not being in my life. And then the next day I said, okay, God, you literally told me she's going call you onto the phone and I disobeyed. And then I said, okay, you know what? That was that was stupid, God. respond now. the first time he spoke and my soul said, i'm going to do what God said.
01:00:19
Speaker
The second time i just said, God, why is she calling me at the blue? This this makes no sense. This strange. I can't answer this. um And it was disobedient. That's processed through the soul.
01:00:31
Speaker
That's processed through your mind, through your heart, through your will.
01:00:39
Speaker
And then the third and will be you regulate the information from the senses. If God, in this example of the the phone call, says she's going to call you, answer the phone,
01:00:56
Speaker
I had to make a decision to push the answer button, but I didn't.
Salvation and Spiritual Transformation
01:01:02
Speaker
Instead I was like, you know, lower volume, lower volume, lower volume, lower volume, lower volume, lower volume, hide the phone under a pillow.
01:01:10
Speaker
So God will speak to your spirit. You process the information through your soul. And then you will respond in the natural
01:01:32
Speaker
I'm trying to write that down as soon as I've taken a picture of it. Which is the handiest. But again, this will all go on YouTube anyway, so you you can always, and with the fly, so you can always follow it that way. Here we have it. Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah, you're fine.
01:01:57
Speaker
Alright guys, we're going to break down the differences now very specifically between the spirit and the soul. Because this is something that i was on to someone like two days ago and there was confusion.
01:02:09
Speaker
Are there any questions so far on anything that I've just shared? Or are that all okay? i think Thank you. Yep, okay, great.
01:02:58
Speaker
Alright then, look at the spirit first.
01:03:02
Speaker
So the spirit, and I'm not talking Holy Spirit now, I'm talking about the spirit in a man or a woman, is the incorporeal body of a man. Now, it's incorporeal for us today, and meaning that it's intangible, okay, it's not physical.
01:03:19
Speaker
But when you go to heaven, it will be metaphysical. When you're in heaven, after you die, Your spirit will be able to touch things in heaven. Your spirit will be able to walk. Your spirit will be able to eat food.
01:03:37
Speaker
Your spirit, and I know has to go to the toilet because your spirit doesn't need that. And your spirit will be able to give high fives. Your spirit be able to hug and jump and whatever else. um In heaven, it's metaphysical.
01:03:50
Speaker
It's know it's an not a physical world. it's It's a spiritual world, but it will be able to touch things and hold things and move things. In the natural, it's intangible, meaning it has no physical substance.
01:04:04
Speaker
Your spirit is your life force. It's what gives us a consciousness of self. It's how you actually know that you are alive. You are you
01:04:17
Speaker
you. It's the body that your soul lives in. Your soul lives in your spirit. You can't, the two will always be together wherever where they're going.
01:04:30
Speaker
It's where Holy Spirit communes with us. Where Holy Spirit gives you knowledge. Gives you wisdom. Gives you understanding. Gives you insight. Gives you revelation.
01:04:45
Speaker
It's the part of you that's most like God.
01:05:18
Speaker
In Romans 2, 14 to we're told your spirit has an innate knowledge of right from wrong. So ultimately, no man or woman is without excuse when they're doing sheer utter wickedness.
01:05:39
Speaker
John 4, 24 says, God is spirit, and those who worship him most work must worship in spirit and in truth. God is not won over by lip service.
01:05:53
Speaker
Our God is an awesome God. He reigns. What time is this? From heaven above. with Oh my goodness, look the dress that one's you the scanankk have ah ah Doesn't work.
01:06:05
Speaker
Lip service does nothing. If your soul is focused on this, that, and the other, that's not the spirit. If you worship him, he actually wants you clued in, zeroed in.
01:06:18
Speaker
It's where Holy Spirit enters us and indwells us. In John chapter 3, verses 3 to 6, Jesus describes Holy Spirit like wind, going wherever he wants to go. He blows wherever he wants to blow. And when Holy Spirit comes into a person, it is your dead spirit that he brings to life.
01:06:38
Speaker
How is your spirit dead? We'll look at that in a minute.
01:06:44
Speaker
John 16, 8. in Acts 24 16, say that your spirit contains the conscience upon which Holy Spirit can move and convict of sin.
01:06:59
Speaker
That's a long theological sentence. It just means that people get saved when they have an awareness, I'm a sinner. I have done evil. I have broken the laws of a holy God.
01:07:17
Speaker
Holy Spirit speaks to you. It can be through other Christians. It can be through circumstances. It can be through prophetic words, through other people's Holy Spirit gifts.
01:07:32
Speaker
He can speak you through TV. and There are a lot of movies which have you no Christian messages intentionally or unintentionally. might speak through those. you can speak through a dream.
01:07:44
Speaker
But a person has to make a decision to say, okay, I'm a sinner. I've done evil. I've broken God's laws. I've been an enemy of God. I need saving.
01:07:56
Speaker
I need fixing. I need healing. I need help. And Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. What you did on the cross, Jesus, is sufficient.
01:08:08
Speaker
You were punished, so I would not have to be punished. You were broken so I could be healed. You were destroyed so I could be restored. I need you. That's Holy Spirit working through those people or those things to speak to your dead spirit.
01:08:26
Speaker
It governs your mental and emotional existence because your so but your soul lives in your spiritual body. And the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2.11,
01:08:38
Speaker
Who among men know the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? And again, that's not Holy Spirit. that's um you're Your own spirit knows all these things, keeps a record of your emotional self, of your mental self.
01:08:54
Speaker
And Job 32.8 says that your spirit provides the unique ability to comprehend and understand godly things. If God were to give you a word and you try to process it in your head, you would say that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
01:09:11
Speaker
and I've had times when maybe was doing deliverance to someone or soul healing or praying and maybe God just said, and say this color to them. Mention this taboo sin throughout these words and I would, in my natural self, think, God, not a chance. That is nuts.
01:09:32
Speaker
But the spirit knows the things of God. The spirit discerns the things of God. And I would say, okay, I'm going to do what he says. Or God might tell you, maybe there's a situation at work or in your family, and God might give you a strategy to fix it.
01:09:51
Speaker
Your soul would be in rebellion. Your soul would say, that's crazy. That's stupid. That's silly. That'll never work. Your spirit is the one thank yeah and that discerns the things of God and his will.
01:10:03
Speaker
Now, everyone's spirit, when they're born, is innately born dead. That's Ephesians 2, 1-5 and Colossians 2, 13. That all dates back to the Garden of Eden.
01:10:20
Speaker
In the Garden of Eden, the man the woman were told, well, the man was told, here is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The day you eat of its fruit, in dying you shall die.
01:10:36
Speaker
That means your spirit man will die first, and then your natural self will die as a result. So, Eve sinned, Adam sinned, their spirits died.
01:10:49
Speaker
Every human being is innately born with their spirit dead. And their soul wounded. And we need Jesus to bring life and healing to all three parts.
01:11:05
Speaker
Romans 10, 9 to 13 is about salvation. But we're still talking about the spirit here. The Apostle Paul, originally his name was Saul of Tarsus. He was actually a murderer. He was a Pharisee.
01:11:21
Speaker
He arrested Christians the first century. He killed Christians in the first century. by men, women, children. He called them blasphemers. he said, you know, you don't love God because you love Jesus. And I rather than kill them, tormented them. Whoever's the most evil person you think in the world right now when people thought of him, that was what they thought of.
01:11:46
Speaker
And yet he had an encounter with Jesus, a supernatural vision, and his entire life turned around and he ended up writing one third of the New Testament.
01:11:58
Speaker
So he wrote to a church in Rome, Romans 10, 9 to 13, and said, if you confess your mouth that Jesus is Lord, he's the master. He's the loss.
01:12:10
Speaker
He's not giving you suggestions. He doesn't ask you to do things. He tells you what to do because he's God. And you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead.
01:12:23
Speaker
You'll be saved. Mm-hmm. For with the heart one believes and is justified. That means God looks at you just as if you had never sinned.
01:12:35
Speaker
He looks at you clean and spotlessly clean.
01:12:40
Speaker
And with the mouth, one confesses and is saved. A lot of people that hear confession, they think that they have to tell God every single day what a bad, terrible person they are.
01:12:51
Speaker
That's not the confession I'm talking about. And on confession as a declaration that Jesus is Lord, Jesus is God, Jesus is Savior, Jesus is my boss. What Jesus says, I'll do.
01:13:05
Speaker
Everyone who believes in Jesus shall not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek. In most of the Bible, the Jews were the ones who had the revelation of God.
01:13:18
Speaker
a Greek here means Gentile, the other nations. God has no national division between who gets into his family and who doesn't. For the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call him.
01:13:34
Speaker
For all, everyone who called the name of the Lord will be saved. and none Amen. So when you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead for your sins and that Jesus is your Lord,
01:13:49
Speaker
That is the second your spirit man gets saved. Proverbs 20, 30 says that Jesus' sacrifice scrubs away evil and purges our inmost being.
01:14:03
Speaker
Your inmost being is your spirit. So your spirit right now has literally no evil in it. When Holy Spirit and when God Father looks at you, your spirit is spotless.
01:14:20
Speaker
And his resurrection has given you new life in the spirit. That's Romans 6.
01:14:30
Speaker
So as Christians, Holy Spirit is within us, literally talking to God and calls him Abba Father. Romans 8.16.
01:14:40
Speaker
He testifies with your own spirit that you are a child of God. Your soul will say... I had issues with my natural parents, so no supernatural parent could love me.
01:14:54
Speaker
Your enemies will tell you, no one loves you. It'll be better off if you were dead and gone. Go shut up. Go kill yourself. People in political seats of power will say, well, if you agree with us, you're great. And if you don't, you're this is, you're this foe, you're this whatever.
01:15:12
Speaker
Holy spirit in you in that secret, most intimate place. is telling your spirit you are a child of God. He is the king of heaven.
01:15:25
Speaker
You are therefore prince or princess of heaven. He is the ruler of all. The rule he gave to Adam and Eve, he's extending back to you.
01:15:37
Speaker
He life resurrection. So his life is in you and his resurrection power to bring your dead spirit to life. This is Holy Spirit ministering to your spirit in the innermost place.
01:15:54
Speaker
Second Corinthians 5, 16 to 19. It's long, but I would challenge you actually all to remember this passage this week and never to forget it for rest of your lives.
01:16:09
Speaker
So from now on, if you can't remember whole thing, just look at what's in yellow. That from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.
01:16:27
Speaker
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old is gone, new is here. stay All this is from God. It's not from you. It's not from your effort. It's not from your work. It's not from your performance. It's not from your religion. It's from God.
01:16:47
Speaker
Who has reconciled us to himself and the group of Christ. And sorry, you do have a job now. There's no one appointment in the of God. Gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
01:17:01
Speaker
That God was reconciling the world to himself and Christ. Not counting people's sins against them. to And case you didn't count for the first time and is committed to us, the message of reconciliation. When God looks at you, he sees a new creation.
01:17:19
Speaker
Your old self is dead and gone on the cross in the tomb of Jesus. He committed that tomb a new life. You are one that knew life too.
01:17:30
Speaker
You can't manufacture it. You can't perform it. You can't religiously create it. It is a gift of God. It is a supernatural thing. it is what it is.
01:17:41
Speaker
He's reconciled you to himself. That means in your sin, you are his enemy. Now you're his friend. He does not count to your sins against you. And he has given you a job.
01:17:55
Speaker
A job of telling other people what I have just told you. That what Jesus did on the cross is as available to them as it ever was for you.
01:18:07
Speaker
That Jesus wants to scrub and purge all their evil away. How? By belief. Believing in his death and resurrection and confessing he is Lord, he's the boss, he's the master, he's in charge of my life.
01:18:25
Speaker
He's charge of what I look at, what I listen to, what I say, what I feel, what I believe, my choices.
01:18:37
Speaker
So when you die, Ecclesiastes 12.7, 34, 14-15, Psalm 104, say that your spirit man back up heaven.
01:18:50
Speaker
it is at one hundred percent already it will still be at one hundred percent But your soul, which is where the issues are, that will also be at 100% when you die. Jesus will make it perfect as it goes up into heaven.
01:19:08
Speaker
Alright, so that's the spirit. going to look at the soul next. Are there any questions at the moment? Or is the spirit okay for everybody? No, it's good. Thank you. How does that... That...
01:19:23
Speaker
seven You know, there's a high throne, doesn't it? We will not be there for that. Heaven has ah number of thrones.
01:19:35
Speaker
Jesus, the ancient day, he sits in the throne. Then there's the Bema throne. The Bema throne is for the body of Christ, the righteous.
01:19:47
Speaker
We will go to that. And Jesus has two books, or a minimum of two. One book is called the Book of Life. And that's where he has the name of all of his children written down.
01:20:01
Speaker
The other book is called the Book of Deeds. And when he reads through that, he will say, Kitty attended Joshua Generation Church on the 14th of June 26th.
01:20:14
Speaker
My law says you shall not neglect the Feligible Believers. Kitty, attend Feligible Believers. tick. You get a reward. On the 21st of July, 2027, Kitty helped a very old lady with a punchback cross the road, character shopping, and spoke to her about the love of Jesus.
01:20:38
Speaker
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. You get rewards. That's the beam of throne judgment for us on judgment day. The book of life, your name is in it. The book of deeds, all the good things you've ever done.
01:20:51
Speaker
The white throne room judgment is where the wicked will go. It's where the damned will go. and And every knee will bow.
01:21:04
Speaker
And every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and it will be too late for them. In life, they chose wickedness. They chose cruelty. They chose to, and they chose witchcraft. They chose rape. They chose murder. They chose slavery.
01:21:21
Speaker
They said, I'm going to support those wicked people who are doing abominable things. I'm going protect those pedophiles. They're all gonna drop their knees and they see Jesus in that throne.
01:21:33
Speaker
going to telling you, you're Lord, you're God, you're King, you're God. It's not going to be anything for them. He's going to create a portal to a dimension called the Lake of Fire and say, you rejected me in life, continue on your way.
01:21:46
Speaker
And that's going to be the most horrific day Heaven will ever experience, but that will not be for us. And then we will all... On the Earth. 100%.
01:21:59
Speaker
thatmen on the earth one hundred percent I have literally prayed, Kitsie, for people in comas. I prayed for people while oxygen was being pumped through the lungs seconds before the paramedics gave up.
01:22:14
Speaker
And God has told me, because you prayed, I spoke to them in their spirit, I spoke to them in their heart, and they chose me. So that's why i'm against euthanasia. That's why I'm against pulling plugs and coma patients.
01:22:29
Speaker
Because you have no idea. where they are with Jesus and and how close there they are, they one prayer away from having an encounter change <unk>ity forever so have a partner bevis that All babies, whether they're in the womb whether they're outside the womb, go straight to the father.
01:22:55
Speaker
Jesus said, let the little children come to me. He loves kids. And um there is an age of accountability. There comes a point where someone is responsible for their own decisions.
01:23:08
Speaker
um Some people fix an age on it. Some cultures fix an age on it. I'm not going to be that bold. I'll say Jesus knows what the age of accountability is for each of those, for each person.
01:23:20
Speaker
But until they reach that age, they would die go straight to heaven. Because Jesus loves kids. Those who... let's say, um if they've got severe learning disabilities and they can't, you know, process information the way God would have loved for them to be able to, Jesus will have such a heart for those people and they will 100% go straight to heaven because he's not going hold it against them sort of when they weren't in a position to make that decision.
01:23:53
Speaker
So people with mental illness and suicide, i You see, when you look at Samson, Samson was like you know the Hercules, while the strong man.
01:24:04
Speaker
Now, he didn't get his libido under control. he slept with every looker and hooker he could find in the streets. and But he still loved the Lord.
01:24:18
Speaker
um He still did God's work. It was a bit sketchy. It sounds bit hairy at times, he still did God's work. and still knew the Lord. And and the day he died, he had been blinded. He'd been chained up. It was a ritual humiliation by his enemies.
01:24:35
Speaker
And he said, God, give me the power to knock this temple down on top of them. And you you could say it was an act of suicide. i mean, he put a building and on himself and to kill his enemies.
01:24:47
Speaker
You could say that was a suicide. But in the book of Hebrews, we're told he's in heaven. He makes the the Bible's whole a thing. So you could be a Christian and just have a bad day, have a bad season, have a bad decade, and feel so hopeless that you just take your own life.
01:25:08
Speaker
But the Lord does not hold any of your sins against you. He will still say you were broken by life, you were betrayed by people, I had people around you to have build you up, to encourage you, and they chose not to for whatever reason.
01:25:27
Speaker
But I still see the heart you had for me. And even those Christian suicides would go to heaven. Yeah. And it's a good question because that would disturb, it disturbs a lot of people, especially when a family has experienced and a suicide.
01:25:44
Speaker
and One of their first thoughts is, oh my goodness, is my loved one now in hell because, but God looks at the heart. And he... Well, the reality is all people have to make a decision while they're on the earth.
01:25:59
Speaker
You do have and an act of, cause an act of their will to choose Jesus as Lord. or not to. So someone has lived in rebellion to him, well then, in eternity, their soul will still be in rebellion to them.
01:26:17
Speaker
Because the the gateway to heaven, the door to heaven, is Jesus. And God will speak to someone even if they're mentally aware. I believe God speaks to every person at some point in their lives. And like we looked at her, or that Bible verse,
01:26:33
Speaker
He visits every person, every morning. So when he visits them, you can only assume he's speaking to them. Whether or not they choose to listen, well, that's up to the human.
01:26:46
Speaker
Whether or not they've chosen to make their life so noisy, they can't hear him, that's up to the human. But I believe he god speaks to every person at least once every single day.
01:27:00
Speaker
Whether or not they choose to hear. Whether or not they choose to make themselves available to hear. And because as much as people want to get to heaven, God wants them in heaven more.
01:27:13
Speaker
If a person wants them to go heaven, they say, God, please send me to heaven. God literally sent Jesus to the earth for 33 and a half years to be scorned by his own nation, bludgeoned, beaten to a pulp,
01:27:29
Speaker
Portured beyond human likeness. And nailed to a tree in a ritual humiliation. Die and went to hell.
01:27:41
Speaker
For three days. Well, okay, he lives in every eternity there was, but hell included. That's how much God wants people to go to heaven. God wants people in heaven more than people want go to heaven.
01:27:55
Speaker
So he is making it as easy and ah as accessible as possible. And he says, you don't have to do anything. You believe that you're a sinner.
01:28:06
Speaker
Jesus died in your place. He was raised to life. And now he's the Lord. He's the boss. When he tells you to do something, get dragged together and obey him. That's it. But it's up to human beings to make a decision to obey or to disobey.
01:28:22
Speaker
But some people like Catholics are being so deceived. But you see, you can have deception in every denomination. Like with, look at Catholics, for instance.
01:28:33
Speaker
Almost every biblical truth there is, Catholicism and ah in a Vatican papal sense has a kind of it. But I've been in Pentecostal churches where they literally said that you can be a Christian and not have Holy Spirit.
01:28:47
Speaker
That dangerous theology. That's just nasty. That's wrong. I've gone to Baptist churches before that believe there were like, you know, two spiritual gifts in operation, pastor or evangelist, nothing else was acceptable.
01:29:04
Speaker
And if you were a woman, well, could be an evangelist, but not a pastor. And I've been to you to, you know, dispensationalist gatherings, which I would say theologically are excellent.
01:29:21
Speaker
But in terms of the Holy Spirit gifts they believe people can have, they would probably have two or three. And and everything else, oh yeah, you're up you're operating for the devil.
01:29:32
Speaker
Rather than Holy Spirit. So no matter what the denomination is, people are under deception. Because so many denominations were set up to be in antagonism with one another.
01:29:44
Speaker
Or something had a true revelation and then people and demons hijacked that room of God. But God looks at the harsh regardless. I know... and those three or four examples I've given.
01:30:01
Speaker
People have driven me crazy and all for them. But... I've seen such deep, deep love for Jesus from the individual members across those spectrums, those spectra.
01:30:17
Speaker
So God looks the heart and he's not going to hold it against you that you know someone taught you incorrectly. But with the knowledge you had of the resurrection of Jesus, his forgiveness, his love, you're new creation, he's the Lord.
01:30:31
Speaker
i What did you do with the gospel of grace? We'll all have extras in our lives that we shouldn't. No matter where you're from, no matter what season, no matter what decade, no matter what century, we'll all have extras. We'll all have a little cultural thing that we picked up incorrectly.
01:30:51
Speaker
But the heart of the matter, did you believe in that? Okay. I don't know about the Muslims and Hinduism. No, because no, Hinduism, i have to say, I despise it with fiery passion.
01:31:05
Speaker
When you're doing deliverances on people who have Hindu gods in them as much as I do, pure demonic. In Islam, Allah is not God, no matter what they tell you. and But yes, you have people in those cultures who want to have an experience with the divine and live righteously.
01:31:26
Speaker
And in Muslim nations, Jesus is speaking to people in dreams, unlike you can, in numbers you can't imagine. and And people are waking up and they're turning from their wickedness, they're turning from people.
01:31:41
Speaker
In India, where the government will literally pay Hindu extremists to massacre Christians, whether they're Indian or foreign, like Western born,
01:31:54
Speaker
and and give rewards and prizes to Hindus from mass-fringing Christians. um Again, God looks at the people of India with such beautiful heart, with such compassion, and is saving them in large numbers.
01:32:07
Speaker
So, no, they worship false gods, they worship demons, but God loves all people. And he visits every person, every morning, and I believe when he does that, he is speaking to them.
01:32:23
Speaker
Every morning, everything away, whether not they hear it. And his aim is that every human honor would put their faith in Jesus Christ.
01:32:37
Speaker
Yeah. Because he loves humans that much. His number one desire is for hell to be empty, as empty as possible, and heaven to be full.
01:32:49
Speaker
The Bible says God extends the heaven, stretches it to heaven, God makes heaven bigger every time one of his kids, every time human gets adopted the sound. To make them property, to make heaven more excellent and unique just for them.
01:33:05
Speaker
He wants heaven to be the biggest, fullest place imaginable.
01:33:17
Speaker
ah guys, so we're loved the spirit. Now let's have look at the soul.
01:33:24
Speaker
The soul of a person, and again, the soul, heart, the mind, the emotions, and the will, is the courtroom where life decisions are made.
01:33:36
Speaker
It's the seat of the self-life and the foundation from which character traits, such as self-confidence, self-pity, self-seeking, self-affirmation, originate. You see the word self there a lot, okay? That's the soul.
01:33:52
Speaker
Like I said earlier, me, me, me, me. me me me me me It tends to be self-obsessed. And even when you're a believer, it tends to be in opposition to the things of God.
01:34:05
Speaker
There are times when I might tell someone, okay, God is telling me to tell you to end that relationship you're in. They're like, yeah, okay. And I can tell that they're lying into my face.
01:34:18
Speaker
Or there are times when God might tell me tell somebody, and you have an addiction and God wants you to stop it. He's telling you an enough is enough. There's gone on for one decade too many.
01:34:32
Speaker
And they respond, you can't tell me what to do with my life. Or there are times when God might give me a word for someone and I'll say, God hates your attitude and he's telling you stop doing this, start doing this.
01:34:46
Speaker
And they say, you don't know what I've been through. That is the soul speaking.
01:35:00
Speaker
So the soul is the will. Your choices. Your decisions. Your determinations. Your yeses and your noes.
01:35:12
Speaker
Not your noes your face. N-O-S-E.
01:35:17
Speaker
It's your mind, your thoughts, your mental faculties, your beliefs,
Mind, Heart, and Will in Decision-Making
01:35:28
Speaker
and your disbelief. Your unbelief, I will not believe that, your disbelief, your shock. That all comes through the mind.
01:35:37
Speaker
And the heart represents your emotional core, your emotional center. Loves, hates, desires, ambitions,
01:36:00
Speaker
All right, here's some Bible verses on the will. Job 6, 7. My soul refuses to touch it. Such food makes me ill.
01:36:12
Speaker
To refuse, it's a decision you make. That's the will.
01:36:18
Speaker
Job 7, 15. So that my soul would choose suffocation rather than my pain. Choosing choices. That's the will.
01:36:30
Speaker
Over a pen, you see that?
01:36:33
Speaker
No worries, my phone. Oh, your phone, okay. No worries, too much.
01:36:40
Speaker
I'll get it on your own. Yeah, here's your... I can send these slides to you on WhatsApp afterwards on them, okay? Yeah. Yeah. There's something that can't say. it That's... ah yeah, don't worry, write that's all right.
01:36:55
Speaker
All right, Numbers chapter 30, verse two. When a man vows a vow to Jehovah. Now, I know the Jehovah Witness cult has hijacked the Jehovah, but it is the name of God. Or swears an oath to bind himself by pledge.
01:37:09
Speaker
He must not break his word, but do everything he said. So basically what you say and the spiritual is a covenant. Your words are being written down, your words are being recorded, and if you don't do them, you are lying, and i can give the enemy a legal ground.
01:37:26
Speaker
That's why you should be very, very careful about always ways and never comments you make. I always, as I would never do that. The term to bind oneself literally translates the Hebrew as to bind your soul. it is the ultimate example of decision making.
01:37:44
Speaker
So sometimes in deliverances, we need to go through are your old ways and never a confession? And someone will say, well, I say i was badly treated by my aunt a child. So I said, I will never speak to anyone like that. And I'm like, did you? Yeah.
01:38:02
Speaker
Hello. Or you might say I will always treat people the way that I want to be treated. Like, did you? No, I treat people pretty badly.
01:38:14
Speaker
So they're making this covenant, they're making this oath, and then they're breaking this oath. It gives the enemy legal ground. But all of this extends from the will.
01:38:28
Speaker
Then in verses like Proverbs 2.10, Psalm 113, 9, 14, Lamentations 3.20, Matthew 22, 32. ummentation three twins matthew twenty two hurry two You have words like knowledge, knows, remembers, minds.
01:38:42
Speaker
All of these are to do with the mind. The mental faculties. But again, it's part of the soul.
01:39:11
Speaker
Deuteronomy 36, 2 Samuel
01:39:22
Speaker
and twenty six sixteen for samuel thirty six referr to love hating loathing despising joy desire obedience bitterness misery grief these are your feelings where we feel these sensations in the heart.
01:39:41
Speaker
And again, all part of the soul.
01:39:50
Speaker
Some say the heart is the spirit. No, when they say that, it normally just shows that they don't understand the distinction between the two because your spirit knows your soul.
01:40:08
Speaker
your spirit knows your mental and emotional faculties. But it's not, it it knows it, but there's still two separate entities. Your soul will not know everything that goes on in your spirit, but your spirit knows everything that goes on in your soul.
01:40:35
Speaker
That's how, for example,
01:40:38
Speaker
The Bible might say,
01:40:42
Speaker
you were crucified with Christ Jesus. So your old self is dead. And someone might say, yeah, I know that. But they obviously don't really deeply believe it.
01:40:59
Speaker
They'll have the head and knowledge they can remember the Bible verse. But do they actually believe it that they know that they know they know they know it's true? No. That's when there's a tension between their spirit man, which knows the word of God, and the soul, which is like, no I'm still a sinner. I'm still dirty.
01:41:17
Speaker
People said I was unclean, was all unclean. People said I was unloved, so I'm unloved. That's the tension between the soul and the spirit. The spirit will hear things from God and will know the things of God.
01:41:31
Speaker
But when it's being processed in the soul, soul might say, oh that's true for every other Christian. That's not true for me, though. Or, well, I'm the exception. Well, God could not possibly love me because I know what I've done. i know what I've been through.
01:41:49
Speaker
Everyone else as ever so I've ever known has told me that I'm worthless, so I am worthless. Then there's a tension between the soul and the spirit.
01:42:05
Speaker
You want to say how you've got Harry and I was there? If not today, next week. I'm going to just split this over two weeks because it's vast.
01:42:19
Speaker
But there's not just a relationship between the soul and the spirit, but also between the soul and the body. 3 John, chapter 2, Jesus, Jesus, and you It says that God's will is that we prosper in all things and be in health just as our soul prospers.
01:42:44
Speaker
Don't get confused by the order of the screen to think that that's external and works its way in. It's internal and works its way out. So you prosper in all things and health.
01:42:57
Speaker
As your soul prospers, means the prosperity starts in the soul. then your physical body, and then everything else. As you get more and more prosperity in your soul, more and more healing in your soul, more and more of God's life in your soul, more and more of the word of God in your soul, more fellowship with God's people in your soul, and more you make better decisions with your soul,
01:43:25
Speaker
You lock things off with an act of your will in your soul. You choose to stop doing this, you choose to stop doing that, you choose to stop doing this to that person. Then you will see the repercussion in your physical health and everything around you.
01:43:42
Speaker
It'll turn to gold.
01:43:55
Speaker
I'm the Body one. Body one. Yeah, so it'll be the soul first, then the body, and then everything else in your life.
01:44:05
Speaker
Which could be relationships, jobs, finances, and projects, industries, ministries. How? Yeah, yeah.
01:44:22
Speaker
Yeah, let's start with the soul.
01:44:32
Speaker
and Some people say it's reading the word. It's, you know, that he is the soul. It can be many things, but the word God is a big part of it.
01:44:47
Speaker
The Bible talks about washing yourself with the word of God. and Because, let's say, when I was at university, and we were given lots of different things to read. and Some of them were I've never heard of most them before, i'll be honest. But it could be a novella about a woman committing adultery and then she doesn't want to make dinner for her child so she drowns herself in the sea or some nonsense. and Or it could be um
01:45:20
Speaker
feminist readings where, like, you know, the woman has always been oppressed by the man. Some you know Marxist readings where we were supposed to think communism was a good thing. I'm like, give me one example on Earth. Some of them could have been like you know stories that were just inappropriate and they thought they were being edgy.
01:45:44
Speaker
And I was like, this was probably written 67-year-old pervert. And I'm like, why am I years of age? That's reading this and supposed to think that this is highbrow literature. it isn't.
01:46:01
Speaker
i And at the end of the four years, I actually said, oh my goodness, the crap that I read and had to do essays on and assignments on.
01:46:17
Speaker
and in the moment, I didn't actually realize just how scummy and spiritually filthy it all was because it was just do this for an exam, this for the son, this for an exam. I barely had time to process. It was just the next thing, next the next thing, next thing.
01:46:32
Speaker
And afterwards I said, okay, this is, oh that was bad. So I plunked myself down here. and we had different furniture at the time, but here. And for nine months, I read the Bible from cover to cover and read it and took notes, read it, took notes, read it, took notes, read it, posted this online, posted this on Facebook, which was cool back then.
01:46:53
Speaker
I gave myself a nine-month detox from all the communist, Marxist, feminist, post-modern, anti-West, anti-God crud that they had me read for the assignments andams and exams. Oh, that was in Maynooth University.
01:47:15
Speaker
and But this was me afterwards. well i Well, no, no, no, I did English and History. and History lessons were mostly fine with English lessons that were full of nonsense.
01:47:28
Speaker
I gave myself a nine month spiritual detox afterwards. And people were like, would you know we do not get a job? You don't just have to do this for money. Do this. All you, the young guys, your age are blah, blah, blah, blah. blah And I just said, none of you understand what I've been through spiritually. None of you understand what I'm doing spiritually now.
Transformative Power of the Bible
01:47:50
Speaker
I need one thing on this earth. And the word God. Because the word of God will wash you. And you might read a Bible verse, God despises gossip.
01:48:04
Speaker
And suddenly it pricks your soul because your soul loves gossip. It loves getting the dirt on other people. And suddenly you're like... ho Oh my goodness, God hates gossip, what i do do with this? wo Okay, God. do You hate gossip, I'm going hate gossip too. I'm going to stop gossiping.
01:48:20
Speaker
Or might want to develop a verse where God says your body is a temple of Holy Spirit. So treat it like a temple. Meaning stop overindulging, stop getting fat, stop eating, you know, 12 Jaffa cakes. It's okay if the packet's open and eat them over a week.
01:48:37
Speaker
Eat 12 Jaffa cakes in one sitting. Are you serious? Read the word, apply the word, read the word, apply the word, read the word, pray the word, and let the word of God put to work washing you.
01:48:50
Speaker
But he will use corporate situations like this too. He'll he'll he'll use prayer, he'll use situations, he'll use you know nature walks, he'll use dreams, he has unlimited number of tools his disposal.
01:49:04
Speaker
But the word of God's a big one.
01:49:09
Speaker
But the problem is a lot of Christians want to have a they want to have a personal relationship with Jesus only. Having a personal relationship with Lord is great, but he also wants you to have a communal corporate relationship where we all learn from each other and be grown together.
01:49:28
Speaker
um a lot of Christians are like, well, I'm a Christian, but you know, I don't need other people. It's just you than me. And then they end up either they' slowing down their healing where they never fully get it. Because actually they're they're living in rebellion and it's it's fueled by fear.
01:49:43
Speaker
Fear that other people might see something in them that they don't want seen. and But actually God wants all those people to work together.
01:50:00
Speaker
22 to 24, Jesus says this. Now he's talking about eyes, but he's actually talking about the soul.
01:50:07
Speaker
He said the eye is the lamp of the body. Now sometimes, now some translations say it's the window to the soul, which is also correct. Sometimes you will look someone in the eye and you will just know if that's a person you can trust or if that person is evil.
01:50:27
Speaker
or if there is evil in that person. um It's quite common in deliverance settings when I'm delivering someone and they will intentionally not make eye contact with me. I mean, there are demons in their eyes and they're looking all the way around. um It can be you look someone in the eye and you just see slits.
01:50:49
Speaker
The demons, the demonic snakes in their eyes are looking back at you. and Or he looks in the eye and just know this person has nefarious intentions towards me.
01:51:01
Speaker
Jesus says you draw light into your body through your eyes. That's a biological fact. And light shines out to the world through your eyes. So if your eye is well and shows you what's true, then your whole body will be filled with light.
01:51:19
Speaker
But if your eye is clouded or evil, then your bodsy will be filled with evil and dark clouds. And the darkness that takes over the bodsy of a child of God who has gone astray, that of the deepest darkness there is.
01:51:34
Speaker
So if effectively what he's saying is what you let into your soul is going to be apparent. There will be signs, there will be effects. If you are filling your head with the things of God, positive words.
01:51:52
Speaker
affirmations, words that you are forgiven, you are clean, you are whole, you are holy, you are restored, you are loved, you are accepted, you are not rejected, people have abandoned you, God never will, you're going to hold your head up high and you're going walk with a different air about you.
01:52:13
Speaker
If you are filling your head with bad language, with smut, with depression, with and
01:52:26
Speaker
words that are hostile to you or to others, other people's anxiety, other people's unbelief, other people's fear, you're going carry that fear. It's going to change how you walk, it's going to change you hold your head, it's going change the conversations you have at the coffee table.
01:52:51
Speaker
Now, when we die, your soul will also go to one of two eternities, heaven or hell. As God's kids, heaven.
01:53:03
Speaker
So Genesis 35, 18 describes Jacob's wife, Rachel, dying and said that her soul was departing, leaving the body.
01:53:14
Speaker
Second Corinthians 5, 6 to 8 says, so we are always of good courage. We know that while we're at home with the body, we're away from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight.
01:53:28
Speaker
Yes, we're of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body than at home with the Lord. So at home with the Lord, your soul goes up to heaven. And Philippians 1.23 is similar. I'm hard pressed between being on the earth, worshiping and serving the Lord and being in heaven with them.
01:53:45
Speaker
My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. For our sake, it's good he stayed on the earth to write as much of the Bible as he did.
01:53:55
Speaker
So, your soul will always have issues when you're on the earth. You can lessen the issues. You can work on those issues. You can deal with those issues.
01:54:08
Speaker
But to some degree, your soul will still always have something wrong with it. It will have been bludgeoned or beaten or been wounded or contaminated. But when you lead your physical body good heaven, when you see Jesus, your soul will be made like Jesus.
01:54:27
Speaker
So that is when your soul will be at 100%. On the earth, you can do a heck a lot to get your soul to where it needs to be. But it's when you die and go to heaven that your soul will actually become 100%. Right now, your spirit man is at 100%.
01:54:45
Speaker
Your soul has some catching up to do, but it will get there eventually, which is actually when you die.
01:54:59
Speaker
And yeah, I can't generally hold on to it.
01:55:04
Speaker
to shame and grievances and wrong attitude in the soul and still be saved?
01:55:15
Speaker
I'll ask you a different question. If Jesus is your Lord, why would you disobey him? Think of it that way. Because what a lot of people do is they'll say, well, those people do not deserve to be forgiven.
01:55:32
Speaker
Yeah, but neither do we. No one actually ever deserves forgiveness. But God forgives us anyway. So what people do is they try to find loopholes.
01:55:42
Speaker
Or they ask themselves, well, how how unforgiving can I be and still be forgiven? How bitter can I be and still have the joy of the Lord be my strength?
01:55:58
Speaker
How much anxiety can I tolerate and still have faith for God's abundance? How much can I dismantle the enemy's operations to steal, kill, and destroy while still playing footsie with the devil when it suits me?
01:56:13
Speaker
But if Jesus is your Lord, why would you want anything in common with darkness? I had a vision and a dream back in 2017, 2018.
01:56:27
Speaker
um where a man, and i got gone him and he just said, oh, you know, I heard you dream prophetically. And I was like, yeah. I said, wow, that's awesome. You know, I get visions and everything else. And I said, wow, that's so cool.
01:56:42
Speaker
I said, you know, would you like to come to my house someday? And, you know, we'll, and you know, mentor you in this. Because for me, it was all fairly new. And most people in my world didn't really know what it was or couldn't.
01:56:56
Speaker
they They were impressed by the gift, but they couldn't really have it to grow in it. Others told me in prison of leadership that I probably needed therapy. They didn't think it was legit. and And I was like, yeah, sure, it'd be amazing, it'd be great.
01:57:12
Speaker
So the night before going to his house, I had a dream. And in that dream, I was sitting at his kitchen table. My best friend at the time was.
01:57:23
Speaker
The guy, his fiancée, and his two kids. And kind like, you know, in those fancy restaurants where they lift up the silver dish and go, voila! That happened.
01:57:35
Speaker
But there was a dead goat underneath, like a carcass of a goat, underneath the silver dish. And it was the first time in my life, first of two or three times, when I could literally smell something in a dream.
01:57:51
Speaker
And it was vile. I woke up choking and gagging on the stench of its rotting flesh. And God told me in interpret terms of the interpretation, do not go to that house.
01:58:11
Speaker
But other people had damaged my ego. And I wanted to fix the bruises by getting other people's validation. So I intentionally, I still remember it now, intentionally wrote the wrong interpretation to the dream to justify my decision to go.
01:58:31
Speaker
Rebellion and in the will. So I went and my best friend came to, and sure enough, we went and the guy was there. i would hope so, it was his house. His fiancee, his two kids, i everyone had seen him in the dream.
01:58:43
Speaker
And for the first hour or so, was fine. No food was fine, everything else. Goat was not on the menu. It was all good. It was chicken. And then at one point I went to the bathroom.
01:58:55
Speaker
When I came back to the toilet, he was talking to my best friend. And literally, now but this is his fiance and kids right in the room. I don't think he acknowledged me for the next three hours.
01:59:10
Speaker
Well, I was a guest in his house at his dinner table. I was like, this is just bad manners. This is not how you host an event. Um... true though I had gone against God's will to and heal my ego did you give me a open that anything but but chairs but what happened was I was my ego only got more wounded because i went and i was retir
01:59:45
Speaker
and and but and you so much
01:59:53
Speaker
Sorry, was talking from the story there. You're you're fine, you're fine. You're fine, don't worry. and So, then he began to have visions.
02:00:06
Speaker
I looked at me and he said, Brendan, there's something black in your heart. as I sound like I'm crying in for those are Zoom, I'm not, it's just going to cough. So he said to you, there's something black in your heart.
02:00:18
Speaker
Like a big black stone. immovable and sinful and rotten.
02:00:29
Speaker
And I just got there thinking, God, I'm pretty sure he's speaking crap. we said My prophetic friend, the host guys those of the dinner party.
02:00:43
Speaker
And I just said, God, that does not resonate with me. I'm not saying I didn't have soul issues. I did. But I don't think God was showing them to him.
02:00:56
Speaker
And he has a vision and says, Brendan, when I look at you, God's showing me a goat. Well, penny drop.
02:01:10
Speaker
God had given me a dream of sitting around at the dinner table, lifting up the silver dish. Voila! God said, Brendan, you are on the menu. And I said, lip, frig, crack, whatever was in my mouth. I said, oh okay, yikes.
02:01:31
Speaker
What have we done here? So after all this, my friend and I got in the car my friend was a bit like, that was so amazing. And I said, watch it though. I said, maybe if you were, you know, being spoken to, but for me it was pretty boring.
02:01:47
Speaker
And i still had a bruised enough ego that I was willing to go again when he next invited us. And then that day again, it was fine for a little bit, but for even shorter time. And then it just got really spirally dark and nasty. Every conversation was gossip.
02:02:08
Speaker
Every conversation was nasty. Every conversation was coming from his very bruised heart. To the point where he almost wanted the three of us to set up like our own church fellowship or something. And I was thinking, no.
02:02:25
Speaker
And then he hadn't gone in the car and our friend was like, Brendan, this is so amazing. I said, you and I will never step foot in that house again. And he was like, what? And I said, just drive. So he drove us home.
02:02:39
Speaker
And then the next, maybe two days later, a then that guy saw me and came over like, hey, how's it going? And I said, okay, it's fine. And he was like, you know, oh, you're coming over to the house this week? And I said, He said, oh, you're busy?
02:02:55
Speaker
And I said, And I said, oh, next week then? And I said, no And he was like, what's going on? And I just said, you have, I didn't even know what soul issues were back then.
02:03:10
Speaker
could not have taught this back then. But I said, you have deep, undealt with soul issues and grievances and pains. i cannot And I cannot sit under what you're spewing.
02:03:26
Speaker
And I'm speaking for a friend right now because i know he's more gullible than I am. He's not going either. Not happening. Well, His hand became a fist and we came this close to becoming full on fist fight in a church auditorium. I'm telling you, other people literally it were down the back end, just happened to turn around and just like see me and came sprinting down because they could see it was about to get violent.
02:03:57
Speaker
And I just said, not a chance. You need to walk out your salvation to the Lord and get your its soul healed. I did not know a soul healing once. I said need get your soul healed because you're a dangerous track, my friend.
02:04:13
Speaker
But say then he got really sad turned and and walked away and never spoke to me again. But don't even know what inspired that story. If I was about to verse again, it might help. Yeah.
02:04:26
Speaker
Um, so God will give warnings to protect your soul, to guard your soul. He'll speak to your spirit man, but your soul has to make a conscious decision to obey.
02:04:42
Speaker
My decision was disobedience because I had such a bruised ego. I told people, God speaks to me in dreams now, showing the future. to to pastors, the response, do you need therapy and counseling?
02:04:57
Speaker
ah The people who should have been able to at least to some degree build me up in this had nothing to offer. it is I don't entirely hold against them, its's it's fair enough.
02:05:08
Speaker
um And then the very thing God wanted to protect me from, I went into the enemy's camp looking for. validation, affirmation, a pat on the back, a kiss on the forehead, a well, then he's mending a teacher stamp, and we'll say, no. When God says no he means no.
02:05:32
Speaker
And if Jesus is your Lord, his yes is yes, and his no is no. So we look for, well, what ifs? Well, whatabouts? Well, you don't know what I've been through. You don't know what I had for breakfast this morning.
02:05:49
Speaker
if Jesus is Lord, he's not asking you to do stuff, he's telling you. He's not advising you not to, he's telling you not to. And it's about taking his word as black and white, as definitive.
02:06:01
Speaker
So, im yeah, people look for, it well, the what ifs, the maybe, the howabouts, the to what extent, to what degree, we need to remember we're literally talking about the god who created all of reality.
02:06:16
Speaker
If anyone's creating stipulations, it can't be us. and So yeah, that'd be my answer to, you know, I used to be always looking for prophecies, looking for god to tell me, for my future, give me hope, like,
02:06:34
Speaker
and I never, well I got a few that kept me going, like God is going to need me in healing and stuff. And it was all about healing.
02:06:49
Speaker
And I remember one instance, specifically, I was going into a meeting with a problem and he said, God, there are any more of these victims that we need to go to.
02:07:03
Speaker
He said, you have failed to be healed. and but it is some too in the proper Yeah, looking for someone else to wear the mask. Person rather than God. Every gift has a counterfeit.
02:07:20
Speaker
So let's say we're teaching. I can sit here and teach you the word of God. That's why it might slow things down, but it's why corroborate everything with Bible verses. Someone could just as easily...
02:07:32
Speaker
start speaking absolute nonsense, give you no Bible verses, put them out of context, twist what they said, write a citation, write down what they want it to mean. But the reason I put on the screen so when you all go home, if you want to rewatch this on YouTube and then pause it every time the citation on the screen, you can crack open your Bibles and say, okay, Brenda did not lie. That literally says this. It literally says this. It literally says this.
02:07:59
Speaker
There are false teachers who would just want to be in a position of authority over someone and would manipulate the word of God as a moneymaker. i have no problem making money.
02:08:12
Speaker
I do have a problem with God as your money and Jesus. would tongues. You can pray a Holy Spirit tongue, but even demons have languages. And I've heard Christians who thought they had the gift of tongues speak in languages of demons.
02:08:29
Speaker
Because they probably got the gift through fear or abertation from someone who they shouldn't have. um Generosity. You have a gift of generosity and give so generously to the causes of Christ, to the building of his body.
02:08:45
Speaker
Or you could give like a witch or a warlock to the cause of Christ to get money, to get infants, to get a position, to get the final say whenever there's a church issue or dispute. and You could have the gift of healing and where literally your shadow could heal people.
02:09:09
Speaker
But there are people who say they have the gift of healing, but they use it for the darkness. Where literally it's okay I'm gonna take cancer out of Barbara and i' instead I'm gonna stick it in the top.
02:09:21
Speaker
Or I'm gonna take cancer out of Lucy Liu's right foot, but little does she know I'm sticking it in her brain. Where it's a counterfeit mirror, a counterfeit mirror.
02:09:33
Speaker
So every gift has a counterfeit from the enemy. Some people are pushing through that. we see Every gift comes from Holy Spirit. Now i'm talking witches warlocks especially.
02:09:45
Speaker
But every true gift comes from Holy Spirit. But if you go to a church, it's like I said earlier, where people where the pastors say, or the leaders are in charge, says, oh, in our congregation, and and in our walk, you have to have this gift or you're not a real Christian. You have to have this gift and have Holy Spirit.
02:10:08
Speaker
I going to church once and what the leaders believed to this day, I do not know. It was dubious. And I think it was intentionally confusing.
02:10:22
Speaker
But there were times when it sounded like if you do not speak in other foreign languages spontaneously or angelic languages, you're not a Christian.
02:10:34
Speaker
That is what I think was being preached. still remember going to a church once and all of a sudden 20 people around me are going, you know, Holy Spirit Toms, whatever.
02:10:46
Speaker
Well, I felt really embarrassed. I was very young. So I began... i had just seen the movie Grease, the musical. So I was there like, you know... mean i'm not canadian get on shoot up sawati ya hip he boom du boom changang thanks ja about ti to do two But the to move, you know, we go together.
02:11:02
Speaker
So I felt so embarrassed I just began singing those lyrics from Greece. They made no sense whatsoever, but it made it look like was having a Holy Spirit moment. Now looking back, I can laugh.
02:11:17
Speaker
Because ultimately, my so my knowledge of my security in Jesus was solid enough. And sufficiently so for the moment. But if someone was in that congregation and genuinely feared, oh my goodness, what if the cross of Jesus was not enough?
02:11:36
Speaker
What if his death was not enough? What if the blood of Jesus was not enough? What if the empty grave is not enough? What if It is about performance.
02:11:47
Speaker
What if I actually do have to operate in that one gift? Forget the other 19. That one gift, where I'm not a real Christian. Their heart would be gripped with fear and terror.
02:11:59
Speaker
Because we're talking salvation. We're talking eternity here. The difference between eternal life and damnation. In that moment of fear. Because faith is trust that God has got you.
02:12:12
Speaker
Fear is trust that the enemy has more power to steal, kill, destroy you. A demon could very easily enter into that person and give them a counterfeit gift.
02:12:23
Speaker
And say, oh, here's a gift. And all of a sudden they're like, you know, little better and and and than but bigger than than and and everyone around them is seal clapping.
02:12:35
Speaker
But what they're actually saying is, it Jesus, and the cross you're all going to hell. I'm going to kill you. I'm going to kill your mother. But everyone around is like, well, it's a supernatural experience.
02:12:47
Speaker
But it's a counterfeit gift because it didn't come from faith. It came from fear. It didn't come from, i am good with God and I want God to give me a gift that will build up his body.
02:12:59
Speaker
It came from, i have to prove something to everyone here. It came from ego. It came from fear. or It came from pride. And fear and pride are very closely related because you're thinking about yourself and in up-to-date situations.
02:13:14
Speaker
And so, yeah, you can have you could be a Christian and still have a counterfeit gift.
Counterfeit vs. True Spiritual Gifts
02:13:22
Speaker
can have I can think of times in recent past when I've heard Christians pray in other languages spontaneously.
02:13:30
Speaker
But it was not Holy Spirit given the gift. Or maybe they did have a legitimate gift of taunts, but then they went through a dark period emotionally and mentally.
02:13:42
Speaker
And the enemy tried to hijack or take over their gift. And they began to speak demonic languages. um And I was there thinking, again this is whack. And then other people were texting me like, you know, Brendan, is this from God? I was like, nope I'm going to end it.
02:13:58
Speaker
That's happened. That happened in last, don't know, nine months or so. um I've seen it all throughout life. So every gift needs to be held accountable by the other gifts and candy.
02:14:12
Speaker
But what some church traditions do is they know what gifts and what people they want to hold accountable. And they know what gifts and what people they want to be beyond reproach, beyond criticism.
02:14:26
Speaker
So then they might build this cult around one gift or two gifts to protect an individual people. a But it all comes from you humans bid for control.
02:14:42
Speaker
Yeah, I've talked about that. impair I mean, he's not a charismatic person. He's very intelligent. He's an economist. He's a big job.
02:14:59
Speaker
But he's talking about the end times. yeah And it's not burning anyone up. It actually depresses me.
02:15:12
Speaker
Right. Okay. I don't want to hear. Yeah. and Anything in the Bible, especially the end times, and if someone's teaching in a way that is Holy Spirit-breathed, it should carry to some degree hope.
02:15:33
Speaker
There are times when I have to teach on things that people don't want to hear. There are times have to correct to people in a way they don't want. There are times I need to pick up the phone, have a call with someone and say, yeah, listen, let's have a chat. a But if it's Holy Spirit-free, there should still be that sense of redemption or love or renewal, refinement, sanctification.
02:15:59
Speaker
If all it's doing actually is making someone feel... heavy and depressed. And there are heavy words. There are. There are times I'll teach and no one's clapping and amen-ing and people have drained. It happens.
02:16:11
Speaker
But if it's consecutively teaching something that actually sucking the of people, sucking the hope out of them, that person needs to assess, okay, are they... And I can't speak into that situation specifically. i don't know who he is. I haven't said under his teaching.
02:16:27
Speaker
But... if that's a consecutive thing, Ward would need to ask, is he actually teaching the word of God as meant in its rightful place, as Holy Spirit wants it preached on, or is there too much self in it?
02:16:44
Speaker
Because there should be a sense of it actually building people up and improving people. First, for me, there's a study of what he preached with a group of women on Tuesday.
02:16:57
Speaker
Now I can listen to that for some reason. and You know, looking at the scriptures and the light in that meaning. It's very strange, you know?
02:17:11
Speaker
Well, then I'm not going to comment on someone teaching style when I don't know it, but perhaps
02:17:21
Speaker
we all learn differently, Kissy. And perhaps you learn better in a communal setting. That's the reality. And there are people, if I were to show graphs and statistics, they'd be like, you know. ki There are people as say who are visual learners.
02:17:39
Speaker
um Partly this is for me, so I remember what to say. Partly it's for all of you. um There are people who learn by touching. you know, you might, especially if like with an autistic child,
02:17:53
Speaker
You might give them something to take off their shoes, to rub it on the bottom of their foot, and they'll remember it far more easily than anything else. and There's kinesthetic learning. There are those who learn you by bye bye bye yeah but touching, by feeling, just by listening, by writing, by replication.
02:18:11
Speaker
Everyone learns differently. And maybe for you, it's just more digestible when it's bit more self-paced. I'm able to listen, process, take your notes, have a chat, look into this, look this up, have a chat, and they'd like to assist you to your best. So I can't comment on him because I don't know anything about him.
02:18:32
Speaker
a and I'm not going to have teacher versus teacher, but it could be a learning style that just agrees with you.
02:18:44
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. again
02:18:50
Speaker
Alright guys, so um we'll go back to the soul has layers now. So we've looked at how God has layers. Jesus has layers. Holy Spirit has layers.
02:19:01
Speaker
The human soul has layers.
02:19:05
Speaker
If you get these three passages together, 1 Kings 1-18, that's the story of a prophet called Elijah.
02:19:14
Speaker
that's a story of a prophet called elija Now, he lived in the days of an evil king called Ahab, an evil queen named Jezebel. i actually mean this really, really seriously.
02:19:28
Speaker
They're very similar to Bill and Hillary Clinton. so The similarities between them, right down to there being a property issue that ended in arsony, are very, very similar. It's kind of shocking.
02:19:43
Speaker
You had an evil man, and the woman wore the pants, put it that way.
02:19:49
Speaker
After a humiliating defeat of their mainstream media team, their false prophets, Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah and said, you have embarrassed the queen.
02:20:05
Speaker
You're a dead man. She's going to kill you stone dead.
02:20:12
Speaker
If she had wanted him dead, she would have sent an assassin. Instead, sent a messenger. like when you're on the playground and that Tina, who you've never spoken to in your life, runs up to you and says, Juicy Lucy is going to beat you up after school. She said, see you in the car park at half path three.
02:20:36
Speaker
OK, someone sending, you know, Tina to you. What's going on Mind games. Juicy Lucy may or may not be due to a pulp. She might be on the first school bus at 10 past two out of that school.
02:20:49
Speaker
What does she want? She wants you sitting on your chair in the classroom, cringing and shuddering and looking around. Oh my goodness. Is she going to throw you know a paper plane at my head? They're snickering. are they laughing at me?
02:21:03
Speaker
That's what she wants. Mind games to get inside your head. That's what happened here. So Elijah runs away, climbs up Mount Harub, also called Mount Sinai. And next thing, there is a a hurricane.
02:21:20
Speaker
But God is not in the wind. What was in the wind? Demons. Because it came out of nowhere. Then there's a whirlwind, a firestorm. I have never seen fire spontaneously, oh, shh, at mountain.
02:21:34
Speaker
But God was not in the fire. Who was? Demons.
02:21:39
Speaker
Then there's a still small voice. And the voice of God that speaks to him.
02:21:48
Speaker
Hundreds of years earlier, on that same mountain, Mount Haro, Mount Sinai, Moses had just led the people of Israel out of Egypt, across the Red Sea. He went up the mountain.
02:22:01
Speaker
And he had a good long conversation with Jesus from 40 days and 40 nights. Exodus 24 to 34.
02:22:10
Speaker
In Matthew 17, 2-3, Jesus and his disciples are on a mountain that we now call the Mount of Transfiguration. He took his favorite three disciples, three he was closest with, and Peter, James, and John.
02:22:26
Speaker
They went up that mountain, and all of a sudden, Jesus that appears before them, not as a human, but as he looks in heaven, in his glorified heavenly form.
02:22:40
Speaker
They were like, oh my goodness, this is amazing. ah And next thing, two people appear before him.
02:22:48
Speaker
Moses and Elijah. So Moses is living in probably 1400 BC.
02:23:02
Speaker
talking to Jesus.
02:23:05
Speaker
Centuries later, Elijah is on that same mountain talking to Jesus.
Biblical Time Travel Stories
02:23:11
Speaker
And in about 32, 33 or so, Jesus the mountain talking to both of them.
02:23:21
Speaker
The soul has layers, and what's happening here? Time travel. Where Jesus, in the first century AD, is literally speaking to two men at the same time, and Moses' conversation lasted 40 days and 40 nights.
02:23:40
Speaker
Back into time. He can talk backwards because he is the eternal God. And in a weird, tiny, whimy, wibbly, wobbly stuff way, all three things are happening at once.
02:23:56
Speaker
Moses talks centuries before Elijah, but he's talking the very same time as Moses centuries earlier, and Jesus of the future is talking back about them.
02:24:07
Speaker
I know a guy called Robin, and he's a wild prophet in Alabama. And he said that when he was younger, let's say, lived here. There's big field, and his grandmother lives in this side of field.
02:24:21
Speaker
And in the middle of the field was a tree. So one day he went walking along, got to the tree, and George heard, Robin! Robin! So he's turning around like, you know, yeah, thinks it's his cousin.
02:24:34
Speaker
No one responds. takes it onto his grandmother's house, is no one there, looks at his cousin, no one's there, goes back home. decades later, he's now in his 60s, he asked God, God, what was that? Because he was at that tree again as as an adult. He kind of went back to his family. This is where I grew up.
02:24:53
Speaker
And said, God, what happened that day? Like, where was my cousin? Because my cousin said it wasn't him when I asked. And God said, well, what does it sound like? So 60 plus year old Robin goes, well, God, it sounded like Robin.
02:25:09
Speaker
And God said, yeah, it was you. So that Robin in, let's say, the twenty twenty s to speak into the void and lead his younger self 50 years earlier back to that point in a weird, tiny, whinely, wibbly-wobbly way, where he actually led his previous out there because of God, because God has the voice of many waters.
02:25:33
Speaker
And he can speak into any era, any decade, any century, and lead you where he needs you to be, and get you to do the same.
02:25:46
Speaker
Space travel is also possible with God, because the soul has layers. In the book of Zechariah, chapter 3, Zechariah's a minor prophet. Most people don't know much about him, but because he would just wrote a short book at the end old Testament.
02:26:01
Speaker
He wrote a book and his story is set in about 538 BC where there was a priest. His name was Joshua. ah Joshua in Greek is Yeshua, which for us is Jesus. So john if Jesus were born today, he'd called Joshua.
02:26:18
Speaker
So Joshua was the high priest and he was still alive. But in Zechariah 3, a layer of his soul and spirit was taken to heaven.
02:26:30
Speaker
And there, the devil competed for his soul with Jesus. And the devil said, Jesus, this high priest of yours is scum.
02:26:42
Speaker
He is filth. He is worthless. He is nothing. He has sinned. He's done this. He did that. He did that when no one was looking. He took that when people weren't around. He did that when his wife's back was turned.
02:26:54
Speaker
Absolutely. Whatever you can imagine came out of Satan's mouth. And When evil speaks, evil does not just have a smell, like I mentioned earlier.
02:27:07
Speaker
i want you to imagine every word you've ever spoken is solid and physical in the spirit realm. Are you speaking honey?
02:27:18
Speaker
Are you speaking sugar? Are you speaking lovely spice? Or are you speaking crap? And I mean that word literally. Because Zechariah 3 says that ze that Joshua was covered in a robe of feces.
02:27:36
Speaker
was co And this is heaven. Was covered in a robe full of defecation. All the smears of the enemy had stained his clothes. His own sin didn't look so great.
02:27:49
Speaker
and everything the enemy, you know when people say, oh, know, he threw crap at me, know, you're slinging mud at me? That's supernaturally true. The enemy is there throwing all these accusations on him, and everywhere he goes, he's carrying the stink of other people's opinions, of the devil's lies, yada, yada, yada.
02:28:08
Speaker
And Jesus listens to everything the devil has to say. And comes over to Joshua, takes that robe off him, and puts a new robe on him and says, you're mine.
02:28:20
Speaker
I love you. I chose you. I want you. And puts a crown on his head and says you are the spiritual leader of your nation.
02:28:34
Speaker
Joshua was still alive when this happened. Joshua's body was still on the earth. Most of his soul and spirit was still in his body. But one layer of his soul was taken to heaven where this all happened.
02:28:50
Speaker
So a layer of your soul can be taken into the spirit realm as per God's choosing, even when you're alive on the earth. If you ever have a spiritual warfare dream, maybe have a dream that you're being chased.
02:29:07
Speaker
And what can happen then is if the demons, let's say, attack you in the dream or whoever is chasing after you. You can actually wake up and carry the wounds in the natural from what happened that dream.
02:29:18
Speaker
A lay of your soul into the spirit realm got wounded. I remember having dreams when I was and younger and where demons would attack me, snakes and wolves.
02:29:29
Speaker
And when they would bite into me, their fangs sink my flesh, I would wake up with massive big blisters on my skin. They would burst and sink deep into my flesh And this like here, these kind of scars here, they're literally the ones I woke up with from those dreams of being attacked, the discoloration.
02:29:52
Speaker
I would wake up and these would be have big, massive bubbles on them. They're bursting in deep into the layers of my skin and literally turn my blood black from my knee down to my toes with infection.
Soul Healing and Physical Health
02:30:06
Speaker
And that came from demon attacking a layer of my soul in a dream. But as your soul prospers, your physical health will prosper.
02:30:18
Speaker
So if your soul is wounded and damaged, your physical health is also going to go to pot. And it was only then that God really began to teach me about soul healing and getting my soul healed in order that my physical health would improve. And that's ultimately what happened.
02:30:39
Speaker
There's another example of God taking a layer of a prophet's soul. His name was Ezekiel. He wrote a big book in the Bible, and the in the Old Testament. He's beside a river one day and the natural.
02:30:54
Speaker
And God takes a layer of his soul, sends him all the way into the temple of God in Jerusalem. And he sees a secret room. And in that room, God says, go in and see the wicked and detestable things that they're doing here.
02:31:10
Speaker
He walks in and sees the spiritual leaders of the nation worshipping Egyptian demons. And the next thing, that layer of his soul goes right back into his body.
02:31:22
Speaker
And then he has to like travel there on foot and say, I know what you're doing. God exposed us. We need to deal with this.
02:31:33
Speaker
And then, yeah in Daniel 7, 9 onwards, we looked at this already see earlier on. This is when Daniel gets taken to heaven in the end times. And he sees Jesus, sort of man, having a conversation with Jesus, the Ancient of Days, where he sees Jesus having a conversation with himself.
02:31:52
Speaker
But Daniel is taken into heaven, space travel, in the future, during the end times, time travel.
02:32:01
Speaker
Can I just go back to your dream? Yeah, I'm going to show one thing, then we'll go haring back to the dream, okay? And then there's one more thing which has happened to every single one of us regarding space travel.
02:32:14
Speaker
So if you hear this and you think, that sounds a bit mad. Ephesians 2.6 If you want to know who you are in God's opinion, read Ephesians 1, 2, 3, and 4. That is your heavenly passport.
02:32:29
Speaker
That's everything you need to know about yourself. It was written to a church in Ephesus, which is in Turkey. It no longer exists. Ephesus is now in ruins. But the first four chapters are basically, it's your it's who you are. It's your identity in Jesus. It's your heavenly passport.
02:32:49
Speaker
And it says, and Jesus raised us up together with him when we believed and seated us with him in heavenly places because we are in Christ Jesus.
02:33:01
Speaker
A layer of your soul and spirit right now, right this second, is sitting on a throne with Jesus. So if ever you say, i don't feel whole, I feel like something's missing. You don't feel whole because you're not whole and something is missing. ah Jesus has literally taken a layer of your soul and put it beside himself on his throne. And I'm sure it's a comfy, cushy throne.
02:33:29
Speaker
where layer of your soul spirit is ruling and reigning in heaven right now as we speak.
02:33:39
Speaker
All right, what's the question? and that That is a wow. It's major. It's massive. So I just want to know, how did you get your your body healed from the dream?
02:33:53
Speaker
Great question. Firstly, didn't have a queer walk to do. And... Then, just as this was happening, it's it's interesting that I don't even think I told her.
02:34:05
Speaker
and But I have an aunt who's a pastor. And next thing she sent me a video and by a woman called Casey Sousa, who I'd never heard of. And it was, you know, getting your soul healed.
02:34:19
Speaker
I don't know she sent it because, well obviously the Holy Spirit told her to. I don't know if she had heard that I was having health issues. I don't know if she just thought, it just looks like you need to pick me up.
02:34:32
Speaker
I don't know if someone had told her, yeah, it's been great recently. But whatever calls her do, she sends it to me anyway. So watch this video from this woman called Katie, who,
02:34:46
Speaker
if someone owed you money and you really wanted her money back, you called Katie. And she would go and she would kneecap the person or she would smash the windows of their house or she would start smashing the rear view mirrors off their car and say, what I just do to your car and do to your head. If you need your money back, you call Katie. She got you your money back.
02:35:07
Speaker
And one day she finally got arrested. i think she had the shock of her life because she'd done her crimes for so long scott and gotten off scot-free.
02:35:19
Speaker
And i think she was arrested when she was in a hospital. And then something happened hospital and the cops ran to fix that emergency. And she looked at the door and said, I could genuinely escape right now.
02:35:33
Speaker
But something inside of her said, no, you deserve go to jail for your crimes. she stayed where she was. The cops came back and like, you're still here. arrested you. So, you know, fair is fair.
02:35:48
Speaker
So she was put in jail for life. And when she was in prison, the library only had one book, the Bible. So she began to read the Bible, especially chapters where enemy nations would invade Israel whenever they were in sin.
02:36:09
Speaker
And then, you they'd get taken to Babylon for years.
02:36:16
Speaker
Chapters and books most people don't like read. Chapters that Christians avoid. And she was reading this thinking, well, yeah, they did wicked things. They're being punished. I did wicked things. I'm being punished. This makes perfect sense to me.
02:36:30
Speaker
But as she was reading, she began to really hone in on all the Bible verses about God's healing power and restoring power and how, yes, he hates evil.
02:36:42
Speaker
but he would restore his people after a time of punishment and refinement.
02:36:51
Speaker
And um then he spoke to her in a prophecy and he said, Katie, on this date, the F-Way communion, and said, on this date, I'm going to set you free.
02:37:02
Speaker
So she began telling all the wardens, cheers. and Guys, it's been really great. Thanks for getting your hospitality here. Looking after you're doing a great job, but I'm not be here for long. Goodbye. And they thought she was going to put suicide. So they put on a suicide watch.
02:37:17
Speaker
And although she was supposed to be there for life, on the very day God had spoken to her in the in the prophecy, she was released. And then she said, OK, God, I'm really going to get deep into soul healing now. So she read all the words in soul healing, got her soul healed.
02:37:34
Speaker
And now we're in ministry, especially in prisons. The kind of people most individuals would write off. She's like, I'm going to love the unlovable. And then she would go and, you know, she prays for them and records their healing and everything else. So it's amazing.
02:37:49
Speaker
a So I sent this video and then I saw, okay, I had a lot of unforgiveness in my heart. lot of rejection. would have been two of the biggest ones for me.
02:38:01
Speaker
And I... I definitely dealt with the unforgiveness more easily than the rejection. The unforgiveness, well, that was just decision I'd made on a case-by-case situation.
02:38:13
Speaker
The rejection was something I actually saw as part of who I was. I saw it my identity. But it's very personal. Exactly, exactly. it was a very specially tailored attack towards me.
02:38:25
Speaker
And it became a stronghold. a And not one I was ever really willing to let go of entirely up until last year. Last year was when I had to deal with it conclusively and definitively once and for all. Was it very freeing? Or was it?
02:38:48
Speaker
Who I am now is not who I was before. I didn't People say, you know, oh, I'm free now. I thought I was free then.
02:39:00
Speaker
I was biblical and literate. I knew how to pray. um i was fairly good at knowing what was of God, what was of the enemy, where people were getting it right, where they were little bit confused what they were sharing.
02:39:18
Speaker
So I suppose I still have this kind of mail I get too harsh to myself necessarily, but I still had quite a religious mindset of, well, there was a lot of self, lot of me, me, me, me. me i Whereas now I look back and I don't actually recognize who I want to be.
02:39:39
Speaker
That's how you're freeing it. It's that, okay, in my spirit, man, I was a new creation. but in my soul to actually have a different outlook on life, a different perspective on myself, and point have one out on everything.
02:39:55
Speaker
It's not just freeing. It's like a total divorce. And I barely recognize who I was before. Now, if you were to experience rejection now.
02:40:08
Speaker
Completely different. So let's say when, let's say last week. I kind of been hinting at it for thought four or five, six weeks. Then last week I said, all right, guys, we've got 34, 36 people on the group chat.
02:40:25
Speaker
Not everyone is actually participating on Sundays or Wednesdays. And I get it. People work shifts on Sundays. Sure. Some Wednesdays, people to need family time. That's okay too.
02:40:36
Speaker
But for people who consecutively were not joining on a Sunday or Wednesday or for prayer need went up, I just knew for a fact they weren't praying. This day last week, I said, all right, guys, I'm going make serious cuffs to the Josh Generation WhatsApp team. yeah And if you aren't attending and you aren't praying, there really is no point in you being here. Please go find a place where God wants you.
02:41:02
Speaker
So I said it would be on Thursday. Because I gave them until Wednesday night to join discipleship. It was like, you know this your last chance. And then Thursday morning, kicked 12, 13 people at the group touch.
02:41:15
Speaker
And I could not have done that last year. Like this time last year. okay Because this time last year, I would have been like, oh, I know we're pushing 40 members. This is good for my ego.
02:41:27
Speaker
If people ask me, how did the Josh generation get on? I can say, oh yeah, you know, numbers are increasing and I'd give myself a pat on the back because like I needed the validation. Now I can be like, now I'm mature enough to say, yeah that's just living a lie.
02:41:45
Speaker
And i refuse to live a lie. And there's no point in people posting personal issues that need prayer or intercession from people who are not praying or interceding for them. What's the point? Just remove them.
02:41:57
Speaker
I rejected her and wouldn't do that. A Rejected Heart would keep the nameless, faceless WhatsApp numbers. That's right. Because it would be filling the same void that sent me to that guy's house when I was in my early twenty s even after God told me he won't be the name because literally want to cook you. So does this all happen in a year? you've you've got It's been progressive, but it's in the last year in particular.
02:42:28
Speaker
it It was last year in particular that God definitively said, okay, I'm breaking my rejection off once and for all. But I had to reach a point where I was ready to let it go.
02:42:39
Speaker
Because my go-to at Gitsy was always to have interrelationship, friendships, whatever. One foot in, one foot out. So I'd have two feet in, you know, to be you know so loving and committed and building people up. And I'm here for Jesus.
02:42:56
Speaker
And then when other people would not reciprocate, or I realized how little I'm into them, despite the God I've made them to be in my life, then I'd be like, and oh my goodness, no one loves me. I'm just another wasted relationship.
02:43:11
Speaker
And then as a self-preservation, I'd have one foot in, one foot out. So when something ended, be like, well, well, I didn't really need you anyway. And I got a little boy inside who was still bleeding all over the place.
02:43:24
Speaker
need to have a safety net. And it's like, well, you can't push me out because I'm walking out. I'm leaving my own position. What happens before that happens?
02:43:35
Speaker
Well, your rejected mind starts imagining all these scenarios. What happens when they reject me? What happens when this person says this? What happens when that when I get that text message? And you sit around in the good times vilifying these people in your heads thinking they're probably rejecting me right now.
02:43:53
Speaker
I sent them a text haven't replied. Oh, but they probably responded that person. well What if those two are talking to me right now? The suspicion and the vilification that goes along with it. Whereas to have dealt with that rejection once and for all.
02:44:12
Speaker
and It's it is It's a new life. It's a new life. It means I'm not bound by suspicion. I'm not bound by fear. I'm not bound by vain imaginations.
02:44:24
Speaker
ah It means I don't sit around imagining the worst in everybody make myself feel better. It means I don't sit around imagining the worst in people to imagine how i'm going to get away from the situation when it inevitably erupts.
02:44:37
Speaker
i am It means I don't have to have a getaway car in every area of my life. I can actually... get the house keys and say, you know what?
02:44:48
Speaker
I'm stable. Things are secure. Things are okay. We'll have good days, we'll have bad days. but But we're all in this together. And you don't feel like you've lost friends or... Anything that has been lost, something more beautiful has been gained.
02:45:07
Speaker
And even if some things don't look the way they used to, I'm okay with that too. Even if some people that I would have seen every single week or multiple times a week, now I see a lot less.
02:45:20
Speaker
It's about making those moments we are together extra precious. But I... Yeah, I can't believe it in that. You know, I'm talking with this... I'd have a bit of fear. I like how to get permission, maybe from...
02:45:42
Speaker
it's a passage mother really keeps the group on the earth. Right. had a time to get permission from her and to come here three weeks or whatever.
02:45:55
Speaker
And I think it's it's crazy, but she wants more people in her church, her pastor, her from the church.
02:46:07
Speaker
And and There are people that that go to the church and don't go to her church. Of course, absolutely, yeah. And there's no more about them, you know
02:46:20
Speaker
Because be seen as leaving our church but still connected to Right. No, at the end of the day,
02:46:31
Speaker
there is only one church God, the Bible never talks about this church, that church, this is je church, that church. You're in the body of Christ or you aren't.
02:46:41
Speaker
So people will say, okay, well, this is my fellowship. And yeah, listen, you are responsible for the people God trusts to you. I get that. Or they say, well, this is my denomination, which I have a very complicated relationship with, not normally very good.
02:46:55
Speaker
But at the end of the day, there are two kinds of people on earth. Those who are God's people and those who aren't. And this infighting between God's people of, well, if you go back to that church, you can't go to this one. If you talk to those people, can't talk to this one.
02:47:15
Speaker
It's nonsense. I mean, imagine how embarrassed God must feel and angels. When they see, like, you know, a Christian walking down the bread aisle of Lidl, and all of a sudden they're turning their trolley into, like, the fruit and veg aisle with this Christian coming this way whose church they left.
02:47:31
Speaker
And they're walking down the ice cream aisle. Uh-oh, we posted something bad about their church. And, you know they're running into the beetroot aisle. And then there are two Christians there who they slipped the bird at one day while they're in a church car park. And then, know, they're scurrying into the spaghetti aisle, even though they don't even eat spaghetti because they're gluten intolerant.
02:47:51
Speaker
it's It must be mortifying. And demons are just, ah, are God's people. So, no. I'm all for God's people having, you know, good relationships with each other, having healthy relationships each other, cross-pollination when necessary, when healthy.
02:48:10
Speaker
a Because God's people are supposed to show the world what unity looks like, what it looks like when people live together in unity, how beautiful that is.
02:48:22
Speaker
So when they look at the church and they just see disunity, They see tension, they see chaos, they see division, backbiting, nastiness.
02:48:33
Speaker
That is a bad picture of God's house. Yeah. Can you say this? and i'm sure hide anything think i mean this is house but Yeah, what i like this is what God always told me.
02:48:53
Speaker
Now, things, visions can change. God can expand as time goes on. But what he told me when I was in Amsterdam in 2024, in and
02:49:06
Speaker
and September and November? October? Awesome. He said, I want you to make Joshua Generation Church all you need is a room, and he literally showed me this one, and a Zoom.
02:49:24
Speaker
And I'm not saying it's going to be here forever. Eventually I will have my own house and geographically it will move. um But he said, you a room and a Zoom. And I said, I'll send the people.
02:49:35
Speaker
So i intentionally said, okay, I'm not going to this big mass advertising campaign on social media. I know with 500 people. could not fit 15 people in this room, let alone 500. That's what they're out it.
02:49:52
Speaker
um But he said, you need a room in his I'll send the people. I'll send the hearts. You look after them. You love them. and Look after the one.
02:50:03
Speaker
If it's only one sheep, you treat that sheep like it's as good as old. And I said, okay, fair enough. I'm more of a fellowship and friends.
02:50:15
Speaker
these silences We do, but the reality is you can fellowship. Let's say anytime you're together is fellowship. We do, you know, fun day that like the, you know, the picnics, the kayaking.
02:50:26
Speaker
um Like I said this morning, we're gonna do prayer every morning this week from Monday to Friday, 6 to 7 a.m. I'll then at zoom in for that. And because especially i would have in Belfast last week, this island needs prayer.
02:50:43
Speaker
um So it's a case where you have the opportunity again again for fellowship. a We have the Wednesdays.
02:50:55
Speaker
and And then, yeah, other suits. And when appropriate, yeah, fun days out and the likes. But in my experience,
02:51:05
Speaker
across almost 30 years, statistically, most people don't go for that. They say they do, they say they want more, you know, and opportunity know to be friends, you to have fun, to do life together.
02:51:20
Speaker
Statistically, you only actually ever get a minority to participate. Yes, and a few people turn off for everything. That's exactly it, and you end up creating a subculture. Yeah, it's sad, but in my experience, it's what happens across multiple ministries, multiple demographics.
02:51:37
Speaker
In any groups. i mean, I've been part of meditation groups and all this kind of thing. And it was always the same. grow designed up yeah And you had the few that participated, you the sideliner who sat and never give anything your back. Which was really bad. It irritates Because I think when you take a lot of a group, you should give back, be back, and everything. And these particular same few never open their mouth any night with anything on. Sitting, listening, and and i'm watching. and yeah You know, was that like bible study earlier something no it was meditation that we were doing at the time but it was there a different time but not just it was it was about god it was god based and then all that was beautiful but um no like it's about what you felt what you took out of it same ones that sit week after week and even no matter we used to do
02:52:29
Speaker
go to different things, you know, God led as well at different places that we used to go maybe just to carry something on, we'd go with the group. The same few rocked up, the same few, they might come and they never open their mouths.
02:52:42
Speaker
Yeah. Never give anything back. chi to sharing and Yeah. I just felt nobody ever felt that we were going to challenge it. Sure, yeah. I just, yeah, it was a bit peace with all that. app Yes, yeah, yeah. That's kind where I got to last week. and On Saturday, was at an event in Belfast, actually.
02:53:07
Speaker
I'm the same man. And the event that I was at... The hotel said you could rock up at 6.30am.
02:53:19
Speaker
So I was there for like 6.40am. And the worship team were supposed to be there at 7am. Because I had the sound desk, all the equipment. And they had to get, you know hooped up and make sure the sound checks were good. You could hear them through this microphone, yada, ya yada, yada. So the worship team were supposed to be there for 7.
02:53:40
Speaker
Two of them were. And the other seven rocked up between 7.20 and 10 past nine for an event starting at nine o'clock.
02:53:55
Speaker
Guests were sitting there when some of them were coming in, only putting down the gear, and they were carrying instruments for the ones who had been there earlier. So the ones who were there early couldn't get their things checked.
02:54:08
Speaker
The ones who arrived late couldn't. I had like 16 sockets for them. I had none left. I just said, i' not hooking you in. i said, you're two hours and ten minutes late. It's not happening.
02:54:22
Speaker
And God, I was praying for it on Friday. Two Fridays ago. And God gave me a word and it sounds like good word. It was. I knew it was a one. He said, passion for my house consumes me.
02:54:38
Speaker
Well, zeal from a house consumes me. And I said, okay, God, what are you talking about here? And he said, zeal is passion that changes the color of your face.
02:54:53
Speaker
I said, okay. He said, consume is to put to death with the sword and to burn to ash. And I said, okay. And God said, I want people, my people,
02:55:08
Speaker
to be so passionate for my house that everything antagonistic towards me in them gets put to death with a sword, burned to ashes, and it changes their countenance. It changes the way they look.
02:55:22
Speaker
That's how passionate they are for my people. And it made me sad because I knew he was telling me something I was not gonna see 25 hours later. I knew, and at that it wasn't unbelief on my part.
02:55:37
Speaker
But I knew who was telling me, this is what I want to see. Readjust your expectations. You ain't gonna see it, kid. I rocked up at 10 to 7. No, 20 7. Wanting to see them at 7 to plug them all in, get the signing checks.
02:55:54
Speaker
Pray. No prayer took place before that worship event. Because some of them couldn't be bothered to get there until 10 past 9 when the event began 10 minutes earlier.
02:56:08
Speaker
um And at the end, some them kind of self-congratulate, you know, well done, oh you're singing so good, you did such a great job. i was there, I wouldn't have let them take the stand.
02:56:20
Speaker
I would have sat them down with the guests. I just thought it was bad matters. I thought it was shocking. Actually, out of a team of nine, I would have forbidden five of them to participate.
02:56:35
Speaker
and Because the zeal, passion for God's house was not there. They wanted to be seen. They wanted their solo. um They wanted to go to the giant's calls way afterwards. Whatever they wanted for every day.
02:56:51
Speaker
But it wasn't to see the house of God grow. It wasn't to bring heaven culture to the earth. So... And what was that? Like a conference? A different different purpose?
02:57:04
Speaker
a Yeah, it was something that God had really impressed on someone's heart in Belfast to to to do. Now, God love him. He has a team who pray every day for Belfast and Ireland and for the nations. It's great.
02:57:19
Speaker
But what happened was with the worship team for that event, they didn't. They obviously had not ever, on any occasion, maybe one or two examples it,
02:57:33
Speaker
as an exception, prayed with his ministry. So they didn't know his heart for the city of Belfast. They didn't know heartbeat for Belfast. They didn't know zeal. didn't know the needs of Belfast. They didn't know what God's word over Belfast was.
02:57:53
Speaker
They went with apathy. They went with apathy and ego. And they left and probably haven't prayed for Belfast since. Even after what happened a few days ago.
02:58:06
Speaker
So, i no, it has to be zeal and passion are so important. That's to be Holy Spirit-led. But zeal and passion as like this palpable heartbeat or whatever it is God has said. And if you're doing something for ego, for self, it's never going to bear the fruit God wants it to.
Passion for God's Work and Community Unity
02:58:29
Speaker
In his sovereignty, he might tolerate your nonsense for a little while m in the hope of getting his is work done on the earth. But long term, there will come a point where he just says, let's do a heart check.
02:58:43
Speaker
Let's do an expose. a And you are under the under the light today. But no, I was felt secondhand embarrassment.
02:58:58
Speaker
Being there, watching their apathy and indifference. and But again, theyre they're all issues from the soul. So I know that today was very was very heavy and a necessary foundation.
02:59:12
Speaker
But next week, we're going to look at what soul wounds are. We're going to look at how you wound a soul. didn't get I a lot of people are locked in the soul. Most. In the past. Most.
02:59:25
Speaker
not and Not even a lot at most. and And they filter every experience through it. and And all it does is diminish them, is hold them back.
02:59:38
Speaker
And you can still, I mean, you can be mature in a lot of ways, but still have soul wounds that are holding you back, especially strongholds. So what going to next week is we're going to look at how the soul gets wounded by people, like yourself,
02:59:55
Speaker
um by demons, by trauma. It's a big one. right and Their footholds. We're going look at how they become strongholds.
03:00:06
Speaker
A stronghold is when it actually becomes part of your attitude, part of your identity. We're going to look at how you tear them down we're going look at how you restore and heal the soul. so Today was kind of an introduction to all this kind of spiritual solace talk.
03:00:23
Speaker
And it and You could literally spend three years studying this and still not know what's wrong. That's how vast the soul is.
03:00:34
Speaker
as Especially like today, the soul has layers. Next week, we're going to glimpse at what can be going on in multiple layers of the soul at once. It would make you dizzy.
03:00:48
Speaker
But the good thing is... do need help to be set free, don't you? Yeah, there is a degree to which you can do things just yourself and Jesus. Absolutely.
03:01:01
Speaker
But his aim is not for lone wolf Christianity. God does not get exuberant glory a from one person howling at the moon all on his or her lonesome.
03:01:16
Speaker
He loves togetherness. He loves unity. He loves when his people live together in unity. He loves when his people talk, when his people bless each other, when they learn from each other. And it's his heart for his people to live together in unity as one. Because God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit are three different persons, but totally always in agreement with each other.
03:01:41
Speaker
and And that's what God wants for his people. That despite their backgrounds, their culture, their differences. satan Yeah, yeah and again, I don't want it to sound like, you know, teachers pit against teachers and pastors versus pastors, but when you get to a stage you have dozens or hundreds or thousands of congregants, you have to get very creative in creating, especially with small groups.
03:02:11
Speaker
And going out of your way to create a space where people can get that special attention and importation. Because what can happen otherwise is you end up with a room full of people who don't know or trust each other.
03:02:26
Speaker
And it's about yeah following Holy Spirit's leading create a space where actually they can get to know each other. They can grow. They can find a It's a bit like counseling. It's a big part of it.
03:02:42
Speaker
Yeah, it's it's a big part of of leadership, actually, because you're dealing with hearts. a i e
03:02:51
Speaker
i suppose i gleaned a lot from and my aunt as a pastor because... There'd be times when she would spend 12 hours with someone, and they'd be smiling, and they'd be rolling down the hills green big laughing face, going, you're so amazing, you fixed my life.
03:03:07
Speaker
And the very next she would wake up at 8am with 14-paragraph hate message from the person. And then how she the worst person in the world, how she'd coerce the person to share things didn't want to share, and yadda yadda yadda.
03:03:23
Speaker
And then initially it would disturb her. And then she reached a point where she said it triggered something. The little girl inside, little boy inside. And the but she has mother issues. And because i have a title, she has transferred those to me. She's projecting things on me from other people in her life.
03:03:43
Speaker
She's hurting me before i have a chance to abandon her. and it's all self-preservation. So i kind of learned a lot from her. in that respect, I have a bit of a heads up. and But, yeah, in leadership you're dealing with, especially Christian leadership, you're dealing with human rights.
03:04:01
Speaker
I know, I've struggled with childhood. I've had counseling with him. But, um, but the liberal-saving social there, would have had his colleges, he was brilliant, but he wasn't a Christian.
03:04:16
Speaker
But, um, he was brilliant. Yeah. The issues, a lot of the issues are still there. Well, you see, the thing with, there are different kinds of therapies in counselling. Nowadays, a big problem is that so much of it is affirmative.
03:04:36
Speaker
So no matter what the person says, I understand, yeah, I agree, yeah, this is part of your identity, yeah, that's who you are, yada, yada, rather than actually trying to get the person out of it. And another thing is talking about the soul and dealing with the root are different.
03:04:52
Speaker
Getting your soul healed and leaving spiritual invaders in there is insufficient. So a lot of it, they want to talk about the soul and they want you to talk about the soul and it's the soul, the soul, the soul, the soul, which is me, me, me, me.
03:05:09
Speaker
But if there are things in there that aren't you, that are from the enemy, the spiritual enemies inside, um talking about yourself isn't going make them go away it needs the blood of Jesus it needs the authority of Jesus us m it needs if the soul has gotten broken or fractured or fragmented or layers of your soul are in rebellion or literally outside your body and in someone else's or other places which we're to look at next week and talking about yourself isn't going to fix it
03:05:43
Speaker
So, you might it might help you diagnose some things. But a lot of people, they settled for a diagnosis rather than a cure. They went, oh, I found the root.
03:05:55
Speaker
And? Oh, yeah, yeah, it started with my mother. It was all her fault. She's the reason everything
Ultimate Healing Through Jesus
03:06:00
Speaker
I'm not. I'm like, okay, and? Like, I can think of people I know like that. They can tell you who said what, when they said it, what color dress they're wearing, what color the socks were.
03:06:10
Speaker
One sock on, one sock off. through This day of the week, that was the weather, yada yada. And they settle for a diagnosis. But, well, would you like prayer to actually deal with it? Nope.
03:06:24
Speaker
No, I don't need prayer because I know the route. This person, this person, this person, that word. And just diagnosis, diagnosis, diagnosis, diagnosis. But Jesus is the cure. Jesus is the solution.
03:06:35
Speaker
But actually, they don't really want Jesus to go the air of their lives because they still associate with fear and shame. and So, yeah, the problem with counseling. And i I'm all for counselors. Counselors are great. I know counselors. They're awesome.
03:06:51
Speaker
But in of itself, it's insufficient.
03:06:55
Speaker
But the amazing thing is we have a God named Jesus who became... every single one of those issues for us.
03:07:06
Speaker
All that agony, all that pain, all that sin, and all that shame on that cross where he died for us on the cross Calvary 2,000 years ago.
Communion and Its Symbolism
03:07:17
Speaker
He buried it in the grave, and he came right back up again three days later. And the blood of the water. Yeah, well, we're going to have communion for us, kids, and then you can jump in, okay?
03:07:30
Speaker
All right. yeah that's right yeah
03:07:36
Speaker
contact mr ben i think that <unk>s like what on consistently web
03:07:48
Speaker
For every issue that we've ever had, and not anyone who calls that issue, and all the pain and the fruit that emanated from that issue, he took all of it on himself.
03:08:03
Speaker
And he buried in the grave. And he came up again three days later.
03:08:10
Speaker
And his blood speaks a better word.
03:08:15
Speaker
His blood speaks a more definitive word than any lie you've ever spoken of yourself.
03:08:24
Speaker
His blood speaks a better word than any lie, family, friends,
03:08:34
Speaker
bosses, workmates,
03:08:39
Speaker
schoolmates, strangers ever spoke over with you.
03:08:45
Speaker
His blood speaks a better word
03:08:51
Speaker
than anything you've ever conjured in your vain imagination.
03:08:57
Speaker
His blood says you are new, you are clean, you are a new creation. The old is gone, the new has come.
03:09:07
Speaker
You have been mediated to God himself through Christ. It is no longer you who live, it is Christ lives within you.
03:09:22
Speaker
You are seated in heavenly places of Christ Jesus right now.
03:09:27
Speaker
Your place in him is assured. your salvation
03:09:35
Speaker
assured, your spot heaven secure.
03:09:42
Speaker
And he does not count your sins against you because his blood has washed away the crimson stain of sin and made you as white as snow.
03:09:55
Speaker
So we have communion now There is no power in Lidl crackers and Lidl juice. but it a picture of his body broken and his blood poured out.
03:10:08
Speaker
Not just for you, an individual, but for us corporately, that we are the body of Christ, people whose spirit has been made alive because Holy Spirit entered in, the second you first believed in the resurrection of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins and that he's Lord.
03:10:30
Speaker
And he is sanctifying and restoring your soul so that it prospers. So everything in your life will prosper. Health included.
