00:01:39
Speaker
We got a show every so seven days a week. um And also check out in the link Beauty and the Beard for any merch you would like. Nikki does the Nonsensical Network merchandise and everything else. And if you want anything custom done or anything, get with her on Facebook or

US Ark and Legislative Advocacy

00:01:58
Speaker
Instagram. So welcome everybody. Like I said, tonight I'm going to talk about US Ark and Morph Market. And for the reptile community, we'll start off with the
00:02:13
Speaker
Morph Market Situation, it's a marketplace for the community for to buy reptiles and everything throughout the world. And you can find anything on the on this site and stuff from you anything but venomous animals. You got turtles, ball pythons, all different types of snakes, lizards, so...
00:02:38
Speaker
Anybody ever wanted to get into the hobby was looking. They got all kinds of breeders and stuff on the cheek on that page. ah Like I said, they're worldwide. All different types of people. So, just figured I'd throw that out there.
00:02:52
Speaker
Anybody that was interested, besides your local pet stores, but these guys are lot of breeders and everything that's been in the been in the game for a long time that raise these captive bred animals. So, they...
00:03:07
Speaker
We'll be there. They can hook you up if you ever have any questions. There's all kinds of people on there. but Now for to get to the U.S. Ark. U.S. Ark was started for the whole reptile hobby because of politics that does not understand the hobby and to help us with keeping our animals.
00:03:30
Speaker
So it was created by Fogross and a bunch of big name reptile keepers to help fight like laws and bills and stuff that to the proper keepers and everything of the animals so we can have our rights to keep these because every day i get notifications. I'm a member of the U.S. Art.
00:03:53
Speaker
They ah send out about all these new laws and all the different states and everything else about bans on your animals or what trying to tell you what you can and can't keep. But it's just ah they're there too to help kind of law low in the hobby to where keep reputable people, keepers and breeders and stuff kind in check.
00:04:17
Speaker
But they do a lot of things for the community, do a lot of fundraisers and stuff. They are all over usually at all the shows.
00:04:28
Speaker
You'll find a rep and see a table will set up. You can donate to the cause and everything else. to help fight for your rights and everything else like anything.
00:04:39
Speaker
But it's mainly for the reptile hobby. they There's been a few they've even helped on the mammal side and fish side and stuff like that because if we don't come together like they're doing for us, we'll never go to keep anything. It's even come down to some places I've seen they don't even want you to have your dogs or cats.
00:05:01
Speaker
I mean, it's getting that bad with how picky they're being about stuff. So, um, they're even trying, there's been a couple articles I've been reading through U.S. ARC that they've been fighting some bills.
00:05:15
Speaker
There's a few states that are trying to get rid of the education side of the reptile hobby, animal, and basically anything, animal hobby, but theyre like I said, U.S. ARC's mostly for the reptile hobby.
00:05:31
Speaker
And a lot of places, like I said, are trying to get away from the people being able to keep these animals.

Challenges in Reptile Keeping

00:05:40
Speaker
And now they're attacking the education side of people doing educational shows, going to schools, doing special events, trying to educate children and adults that, you know, we all we'll have our fears of...
00:05:57
Speaker
animals and everything else. And it's just trying to help people understand that. But once again, the old government stepping in, trying to take away our stuff because they they're fearing what they don't understand.
00:06:11
Speaker
So it's been one of those deals that it's been hard for them to fight everything because of what it costs to go to court, do all these battles. But I mean, they've been doing a phenomenal job.
00:06:25
Speaker
A lot of my favorite YouTubers that I follow in the hobby, ah they're big, big, big avid supporters of this. But I think personally, back to the education side, if people were educated properly by the proper people,
00:06:42
Speaker
I mean, you can still fear them. still don't have to It's not like you're saying you're going to have to go out and buy them, keep them or anything else like that. so But just get educated on why people like them, understand them.
00:06:54
Speaker
They've been part of Mother Nature for years. They help control our pest problems, everything else, but Once again, it comes back to people fear what they don't understand on a lot of it. I mean, there's so many myths and stories. People believe that it's not most it's not true on a lot of it. So, I mean, but yeah, if we didn't have the education stuff, I mean, out there where they go to schools, all that and everything, a lot of people wouldn't understand. I mean, you go to the zoo, you're willing to go to the zoo and people go walk into the reptile place
00:07:32
Speaker
they go walk and look at them because they're behind glass. That's fine. That's the only difference with the educational stuff is you're getting a hands-on experience with it. So, I mean, i mean, either way, but just ask questions.
00:07:46
Speaker
If you don't understand something, ask it about it. I mean, there's a lot of people out there, good people that are willing to take the time to teach you. And there's a lot of good information on the YouTube side with a lot of people that, uh,
00:08:01
Speaker
are willing to educate you and take the time to show you what it's like to keep animals. and Dogs, cats, the reptiles like i said reptiles, it's all out there.
00:08:12
Speaker
It just depends on your taste, what you want to learn, and everything else. I mean, it's up to you. But like I said, everybody's got their choices.
00:08:24
Speaker
So... I got a notification actually here in my home state of Ohio. There's a town called Ashley, Ohio. Phil Gross and all them from him and another rep from US Ark has made the trip to fight.
00:08:40
Speaker
This town's actually trying to get away with banning all animals in this town. And US Ark stepped up because somebody reached out to them that are keepers and everything else actually on the reptile side.
00:08:54
Speaker
and they've been helping fight this cause to get the the councils and everything else to understand why people do this and kind of make it where we can work together.
00:09:07
Speaker
So, I mean, if it's starting here in this small town, because it's really a small community, but if it's going to hit small towns like that, what's to say it's not going to hit all over your state, wherever you live and everything else? Because, I mean, I've seen where A lot of irresponsible keepers has caused a lot of lulls
00:09:29
Speaker
for the officials to push because they're being irresponsible and it's hurting the hobby with the proper keepers and stuff that go through, follow all the rules to keep these certain animals. I mean, there's a deal going on in South Carolina now.
00:09:48
Speaker
You're allowed to part of the thing with keeping venomous. A guy let a King Cobra escape. And from reading up on the guy and everything else, I guess this ain't the first time that he's had an issue where they magically got loose and it's hurting all the proper people that are doing what they need to do um to keep these animals. And another state that's real big, they actually started, it's called US Arc Florida that are fighting for the people's rights down there because of all the
00:10:23
Speaker
from the hurricane and everything else and a lot of irresponsible people of the burs Burmese python ordeal out in the wild in the Everglades and everything. And prime example, Mother Nature decided when this happened, a lot of it.
00:10:39
Speaker
But also there's been irresponsible people. They're like, oh, we go to the pet store. Oh, this snake they had told this snake or this lizard doesn't get this big. And then they realized because they didn't do the research, you got a 13, 14 foot snake that, oh, what am I going to do with it because I can't house it no more.
00:10:57
Speaker
So a lot of people either mostly turn them loose they donate them to a facility, but three quarters of the time, it's they're released out in the wild.

Education and Myth Busting

00:11:09
Speaker
And back to, again, it causes us to have all these official government officials step in and try to take everything away from us for the ones that are being responsible.
00:11:22
Speaker
There's a few guys that I follow that live in Florida. you got they On animals, you've got to have permits and stuff, but they've also outlawed a lot of the like the Burmese and all that stuff. you You can only have them if you have kind of a zoo-style setup down there, but you've got to go through hoops to get all that. and They make you do all the permit stuff.
00:11:54
Speaker
So, I mean, i get it. Doing the permits, do the where you your room and your facility, if you're going to do a facility, is all set up that and go the proper ways of doing that and where they do their annual inspections. or so I get it.
00:12:10
Speaker
But to downright tell you you're not allowed to keep your animals or anything else like that.
00:12:18
Speaker
And... It's ridiculous because we have our rights to keep them like anything else, but they just don't, they just want to govern us is all it is.
00:12:31
Speaker
And it's getting, getting out of hand with the irresponsible people. So we're being punished because of that.
00:12:41
Speaker
I just think we need anybody that's in the hobby that I know just, I mean, starting out on this channel, trying to get the word out. But still, a lot of people, if you like your reptiles, even you and any animal really, look into the U.S. ARC about the reptile hobby.
00:13:02
Speaker
Benji, she won't be on and until Monday night, so it was scheduled for Monday ah coming up and everything else. I'll get to that here in a minute, buddy. But they, yeah, I mean, they're trying to fight for us, and they've been doing a good job.
00:13:19
Speaker
But it just needs to be a group effort by everybody. And that's what it takes to do it. And
00:13:31
Speaker
so and I just got a notification actually on my USR email. They ah will be doing down in Tampa, bay Florida this Saturday.
00:13:44
Speaker
this saturday They are doing a fundraiser to help raise money so they can continue to do the good fight for us in the community. It just actually came through on my phone, so figured I'd share that with everybody.
00:13:58
Speaker
But, yeah, it just comes back to the proper education. um
00:14:04
Speaker
It's just sad that the information's at our fingertips as much as everybody's on their on social media, on everything like that, on the Internet. It just takes a few seconds of your time to get educated, watch videos, find proper people.
00:14:19
Speaker
I mean, can give you a list of people that I would trust that's been in this hobby for years that I've been watching now for quite a while that they're not going to steer you in the wrong direction. But a lot of people in the hobby has got different opinions. It's got your typical bickering back and forth, which is stupid as hell.
00:14:40
Speaker
we're We're supposed to be united, but it's also the ones that are bitching about these people are the ones that are irresponsible. But a couple names to check out. It's ah Kevin McCurley at Nerd.
00:14:52
Speaker
He has a great YouTube channel with Educational about is not all all the reptiles that he sells and keeps and raises. One of my favorites is is how he socializes the Asian water monitors and stuff that he has.
00:15:10
Speaker
There's a whole tutorial on that. um um He's got a whole thing about ball pythons and his retics and everything else that he keeps. But, yeah, he's got a lot of stuff, a lot of people.
00:15:23
Speaker
yeah i mean, the guy's good at what he does and everything else. He's a living legend in the hobby. And then you have Brian Barczyk, which is out of Michigan.
00:15:35
Speaker
God rest his soul. Man passed away a while back, but his family's can tear it. Continuing on his legacy. He has a a lot of videos and stuff, educational videos on YouTube. um They're finishing up a new facility called Legacy Aquarium and Reptile Center.
00:15:56
Speaker
Reptarium. It is a dream of his that they're finishing. You ever get a chance to jump on the bar Brian Barczyk YouTube channel? Follow along on the journey.
00:16:07
Speaker
I mean, it's amazing what they've done. but yeah And then, of course, my guest I had on a while ago, and Mr. Steve Nelson at Area Riptiles, he's another good one that i he can give you insight on proper care everything else and what answer questions the best he can.
00:16:29
Speaker
i mean, it's just being able to find the people. Then you've got Billy Rove, Mutation Creations, giant ball python breeder out of Canada. Man is phenomenal. He can help you with, if you want to it's get into business, the thing of it is, is the hobby, you got to keep it a hobby because once you get into it, you're not going to make millions. You're not going to make anything.
00:16:53
Speaker
You got to put work in. um You got to remember it's just a hobby and stuff. So, yeah. But if you lose that drive, then you're not punishing yourself. You're actually punishing the animal when you lose that drive of getting into the business side.
00:17:09
Speaker
So you've got to be able to kind of kick back, restart if you overlook yourself, and just continue with what you got and move on. and But yeah, I've met a lot of people through social media that I've been talking to and everything else.
00:17:26
Speaker
Like my guest coming up this Monday, which I've had planned before I split my shows up.
00:17:34
Speaker
Her name is Kate Minner. She's from Lethal Exotics. They're out of Michigan, her and her boyfriend. um They keep basically every style of reptile you can think of.
00:17:46
Speaker
So tune in next Monday night at 6 o'clock. I'll have her and him on the show. And we may have a few, she said, may have a few special surprises to show on the show.
00:17:58
Speaker
So you guys tune in next week and everything else and check it out.

Personal Experiences and Market Insights

00:18:02
Speaker
And, but yeah, there's just so much information out there to get yourself educated.
00:18:10
Speaker
The big pet chains, I'm going to be straight and honest with you and everybody can tell me, hate me for it, whatever. They're there to make the money.
00:18:21
Speaker
They're not there about the animal. They're not about nothing because you do the proper research. When you go into the big big pet chains, the animals are not properly set up like they would be.
00:18:34
Speaker
And that's just my opinion. And I'm sure a lot of other people that I know in the community, they agree. But it's just sad. This is the sad part of the business side for big corporates that don't take care of the proper setups and everything.
00:18:51
Speaker
For the animals, I've known people that bought them from big so big big chain markets. They got sick or they died within a couple weeks or a couple days because they weren't set up properly.
00:19:04
Speaker
Oh, but this is what the corporate office told us this is how they're kept. No. The corporate needs to quit worrying about the money, but that's their problem.
00:19:15
Speaker
They're worried about the money. So once again, the animals suffer. And it's just sad to see it because there's so many amazing different reptiles out there for everybody. I mean, I've got two bearded dragons, a Toekay gecko, I also have an iguana, and I have four ball pythons, a leopard gecko.
00:19:39
Speaker
I mean, i My family, we got a we got a variety. We pretty much are known as a zoo because we got a couple of parents, too. I mean, it's and I got a Columbia black and gold tegu.
00:19:50
Speaker
But, yeah, I mean, we just we have them and we enjoy them. We just got to get right now with our busy work schedule. I mean, we take the time to feed them, clean them up and everything else.
00:20:03
Speaker
But we got to get back into spending more time with them. But with just busy work schedules and stuff and school schedule right now, we really don't have the time to spend with them, like handling them a little more. and We do it here and there. But we used to do it ah all the time until busy time. But it just takes time and everything else out. It's a full another full-time job when you when you have them. I mean, it's just like having a dog and a cat. I mean...
00:20:30
Speaker
It's more than just feed in water and take them out. You can't really take them outside, but changing their bedding and everything else, you've got to socialize with them. So, I mean, but yeah, it's just there's so much out there in this community that is a lot of misunderstood stuff, and I'm still learning.
00:20:49
Speaker
He learns new stuff every day. But yeah, I just wanted to bring that up about what's going on and talk about the U.S. art. And then now we're going to break into the Morph Market side.
00:21:02
Speaker
On Morph Market, there is a website, it's actually a page you can go to, that it carries, like I said earlier, breeders from basically all over the world. You can choose from Europe, here in the United States. There's so many different breeders and everything else you can get from, like I said, ball pythons to monitor lizards to hognose snakes, um, corn snakes, tree boas.
00:21:32
Speaker
So, I mean, there's just all different types of the animals out there, but the main thing is it's, it's like uh, where you can sell and everything else, uh, buy, buy, uh, your reptiles and everything on the,
00:21:49
Speaker
on this page and it's all the different breeders you can message them and ask questions on the animals or whatever else and they'll tell you and everything so
00:22:04
Speaker
but yeah on uh there i mean it's just open to the world and that's how i met some of them too besides following them on their youtube channel got on there to see the animals they haven't just asked questions uh doing Doing that stuff.
00:22:19
Speaker
Just by asking. So. I mean it's it's neat. If you can get yourself educated. These animals are actually amazing animals.
00:22:31
Speaker
They're very intelligent. And.
00:22:37
Speaker
They're enjoyable. It's just. People were.
00:22:42
Speaker
It's just crazy. That they. They. People fear because of stories they heard or unfortunately Hollywood's made the where people fear these animals too as well.
00:22:58
Speaker
Because, oh, I don't like these because, oh, they had a movie out where this giant snake, you know, and prime example the movie Anaconda.
00:23:09
Speaker
But yes, there's been stories of In fact, it's proven. you know People getting attacked, but mostly what you hear is is ah the people over in African stuff with the Nile crocodiles and everything else.
00:23:25
Speaker
Those things, you can't help it. With man and nature being together, something's going to happen. But there's so much stuff, people's like, I've heard them say it.
00:23:35
Speaker
Oh, I've seen that movie where this is at. That's why I don't like them. they don't They've never even Touched them, held them, anything else. So, I mean, it's just dumb that they make a perception of things based off of what they've seen on TV or this person told them that. So, I mean, I've always had a fascination with these animals ah growing up, everything else.
00:23:58
Speaker
Steve Irwin, I'm sure for many people that's in the reptile area, was one of the biggest influencers in this game with his show and stuff going all over.
00:24:10
Speaker
catching all these different venomous snakes in Australia and stuff and traveling. I mean, he educated a lot of people in the reptile community and everything else. I mean, that's the reason I got into to liking them so much.
00:24:27
Speaker
But yeah, it's back, like I said, it's just one of those deals. You're uneducated about them. You fear what you don't what you're not educated about. I mean, that's just in general for everything too. So
00:24:42
Speaker
But yeah, the Morph Market's got a pretty neat...

Future Programming and Conclusion

00:24:45
Speaker
It's got, a like I said, a variety. I mean, I know I'm jumping around on stuff, but still, it's just a variety of animals and all that, but yeah.
00:24:56
Speaker
So I just figured I'd jump on here and talk about them for a little bit and let you know. But yeah, with my guest next Monday, there's... it's Her place is called Lethal Exotics.
00:25:08
Speaker
She keeps... Any of the crocodilian species, alligators and stuff like that, they have a facility. They've got venomous. I mean, it's kind of neat seeing that.
00:25:21
Speaker
But, yeah, that it's going to be, it should be an interesting show having her on. And then a lot of my, back to the YouTube thing, with the people that do YouTubes, I mean, ah I watch a lot of them.
00:25:34
Speaker
There are some good people on there that can show you. they keep I watch that keep venomous reptiles from all over the world that they got permits for everything else. um They keep different species.
00:25:46
Speaker
Another good one to watch on YouTube is Camp Cannon. This man's got an amazing facility on his property of keeping different tortoises and your lizards.
00:25:59
Speaker
Mostly monitors and stuff. He's got tortoises and everything. It's kind of like a conservation for him. But he's been into the hobby for a long time. He's got a good YouTube channel. He's very educational.
00:26:13
Speaker
um I watch Chandler's Wildlife. He's kind of a goof, but he's very intelligent very intelligent guy. He's one of the ones that keeps venomous in crocodilians down in Florida.
00:26:25
Speaker
And learned a lot about different things that I didn't know. And then there's Stone's World. He's got a huge alligator facility, and he keeps venomous and stuff too.
00:26:36
Speaker
Very, very educational on his. I mean, you guys check out these YouTube channels. um Steve Nelson that was on here, Area Reptiles, he's got a YouTube channel and Facebook page. Check those out. He's got some amazing videos that he does.
00:26:52
Speaker
with the keeping and stuff and some other people from the community. He'll do live videos and stuff on there that you can go back and check him out.
00:27:02
Speaker
Kevin McCurley at Nerd, that whole group. um
00:27:07
Speaker
Brass Man, Reptiles, Jeremy. He's a big advocate for U.S. art. Check his Facebook and Instagram page and stuff out. He's got a good one.
00:27:19
Speaker
Rob Christensen, he worked at Nerd as well. There for a while now he's on his own. He does his own thing. He's another very good educational person about the animals and stuff. He's got Facebook and Instagram pages.
00:27:32
Speaker
Check him out. Belly Row, like I said, Mutation Creations. You want to see the business side, big business side of the bull python breeding. He's a good one to check out. Then you also have Justin Kavolka of Canova.
00:27:47
Speaker
He does amazing things with these animals. It's just amazing the morse and genes that he combines together to make beautiful reptiles. These snakes are gorgeous.
00:27:59
Speaker
Check him out. And and Brian Barczyk's channel. There's so much to do with ah on that channel with his reptarium and this legacy.
00:28:10
Speaker
He's had all kinds of stuff that he's done. It was a man had a dream and he made it happen and they're still continuing his dream on up there in Michigan. It's in Utica, Michigan. You guys ever get a chance you're in that area, check it out.
00:28:24
Speaker
But I just figured I'd throw it out there. Get educated. Go support you. If you're into the hobby and not supporting it, go support us or just join in and try to educate people the proper way with keeping reptiles and stuff and just animals in general.
00:28:40
Speaker
Be properly educated. Don't bewittle somebody because they're asking questions. See it all the time, which is ridiculous. but And teach kids.
00:28:51
Speaker
That's the key of the future to this is they're curious and they want to know. Teach them. Show them the way. And just be...
00:29:02
Speaker
be good to people in the hobby. That's ah one thing you got to do, and but it's far through and between that you got your good ones, but you got more of your bad ones when they ask questions. As Brian Brochick said, be good to people, and I'll see you guys in the next one.
00:29:25
Speaker
Tune in Monday night, like I said, for my special guest, and It'll be 6 o'clock that night, and the check the rest of our shows out. Tomorrow night, Blaze and Jeff will have Nonsense and Chill.
00:29:42
Speaker
It's movie night. Come in, join the conversation, watch movies with those guys, and Saturday night's the Nonsensable Network Open Panel Challenge. Come in join the craziness on Saturday nights with the all the guys and stuff when they're on there, and Sunday's Unnecessary Roughness.
00:30:00
Speaker
ah Glick and Rick talk sports. Anything sports on there and stuff, tune into them. Then we're back to Monday night. My Speedway stories and Cobalt conversation. That's the motorsports side other than this Monday.
00:30:16
Speaker
already had, like I said, I had a guest set up for it. So it'll be another reptile show with the guests on. But from here on out, it'll be a motorsports Mondays. Tuesday nights is house Glick's House of Music.
00:30:29
Speaker
Man's got a lot of local get musicians from all over when he can get them on. But check that show out if you want to check out some local local talent and from all over. I mean, he's had some great people on there, and they got some good music.
00:30:45
Speaker
um Wednesday nights, What the Fuck News. That's the stuff in the news that makes you say what the fuck. So Jeff and Glick are the hosts of that show.
00:30:56
Speaker
Check it out. And then we're back here Thursday night for the cold-blooded conversation side of my show. And I'll have another guest on next Thursday as well, too.
00:31:08
Speaker
um Gentleman's Kryptonite Pythons. And he is a bull python breeder that's been in the game for about four years now.
00:31:19
