But I've been reading Assassin's Blade. it's in the Throne of Glass series. And it's very interesting to hear people's opinions because, well, it's written by Sarah J. Maas, which she wrote A Court of Thorns and Roses series, which is like a huge hit.

um She wrote this series before that. And people say that it's better than ACOTAR. It's eight books in the series. So I've read two. And this one called Assassin's Blade is like a prequel, but people say to read it as the third book, not before the first book.

The suggestion has been thrown around to make that like as like a supplemental book club almost. like Everybody read like the random books every month, but then anybody that wants to also read this series and meet a second time in the month because there's a bunch of people that have read it and really love it, but there's a lot of people in our book club that are like like me that are not into, i don't know.

More books in the last few weeks than i usually do. um i think at the end of last month, I was in the middle of The Housemaid or like hadn't started it yet. or I'm not sure because that was our book club book for November because we might go see the movie as a group. um so I listened to it and i did like it. Because last year we did a book exchange and everybody brought like a favorite book or a book that they um had read recently and liked and we kind of got like a variety like somebody brought like a children's book like a picture book and a few people brought used books which is totally fine but then some people bought like brand new so we just kind of like that was the first time we had done it and we narrowed down the rules like you have to buy the book it can be used um but just to kind of make it more fair for everybody

um So to decide on which book that I wanted to take for this, I've been reading or listening to a couple um because I don't want to take something that's stupid. Yeah. So I listened to one called This Time Next Year or Same Time Next Year or something.

And it's a it's like a ah romance. I mean, it's not like spicy or anything. It's just like a cute rom-com, like a cozy romance. And it um it's like two people that were born on New Year's Day, like right after midnight in the same hospital.

and they meat But like you kind of like go throughout their lives in flashbacks and you see that they have like coincidentally met but didn't know it or were like in the same place at the same time like every New Year's Eve or something.

And it's it was pretty cute, but it was not like earth shattering. And so then the next one I read, i just finished it yesterday, is called Rock, Paper, Scissors. And it's like a more of a thriller book.

And it's a couple that goes to a cottage inn. Scotland in the highlands and like in the middle of nowhere and they get stuck in a snowstorm and like a bunch of creepy things happen and it's like ah like some of the things that they say they're like we know only one of us is going home you know they say stuff like that and you just kind of like figure out try to try to figure out what's going on.

And I liked it. And I think that's the one I'm going to take. so Yeah. Our book club book this month as well is it's a bring your five star read of the year. Like five star read of the year. It's very disappointing. So this has happened like, I don't know, a month or two ago. i put the meal in. And like a lot of times I forget to put it in the crockpot in time. Because, you know, has to go in at like one or two and cook for five hours or whatever. Yeah. and four hours.

And... It'll get to be like 3 o'clock and I'm like, shoot. Well, now like we can't do that now because it I don't have enough time for it to cook. So I was really proud of myself that I put it in in time and it was like 5 o'clock and I was like, this food is going to be it's going to be smelling good anytime now. And I was like, wait a second. Why don't I smell it? I should be smelling good Yeah, I walked downstairs and I didn't even turn the crock pot on.

So I texted my friend, my neighbor that lives a couple doors down and I'm like, are you home? Can you just like go in my kitchen and make sure that my Crock-Pot's plugged in? Because I couldn't go home at that point because I was already at my hair appointment. It's nice to have a neighbor like that. It really is. My neighbors are amazing and we watch out for each other. so Nice.

Yeah, whatever. but um But it's nice. And the only things that I realized that it was like, I wish I had somebody else here for a few things, you know, like riding the rides is funner with other people. hmm.

and But I didn't ride that many rides. I just like did a few. And i mostly did like the atmospheric... Atmosphere? Atmosphere? The entertainment, the the things that make the Disneyland atmosphere what it is. Yeah.

The shows, the parades, the whatever. um But taking pictures, like I either have a lot of selfies or I'm not in anything or I have to ask somebody to take a picture.

Which is fine. And then saving spots to eat. That was my biggest thing. Because it was really busy. It was like the week before Thanksgiving. Or the week of Thanksgiving. And it was really busy. And I would find a table. Because mobile order is the best thing that Disneyland has ever done. It's so awesome. But like I'll find a table and wait for my food. But I'm like oh my food's done. But if I stand up my table's going to be gone.

And I don't want to leave my so stuff. Because... I don't want it to get stolen. I don't think it would get stolen. But anyway, it it would be nice to have somebody to just sit there and save a table.

Yeah. And I'm trying to think of other places that I've gone. I've been to Washington, D.C. by myself. And I really loved that. That one was really great because i when I go to a museum, I like like taking my time and like reading all the stuff. And sometimes when people are with me and I can tell that they're like ready to move on. So Washington, D.C. is a really good place to go.

And then I did a trip to like Spain and Portugal by myself. Well, starting out in Spain with like a group of people who were like other single adults. It wasn't like a dating trip. It was just like people who want to travel who won't, don't have friends to travel with them. Yeah. is it Was it Contiki? Yeah.
