Free Agency Recap Part 2

00:00:33
Fab
We got another jam-packed episode of a little bit of a free agency recap going on, part two dose.
00:00:41
Fab
Dose microfinos, as we like to say. So since the last podcast, ah Lucas does.
00:00:45
Nacc
Who says that?
00:00:48
Fab
You know what else Lucas does do? Just forgot to mention that he listens to our podcast on Apple podcast on Spotify. He watches our shorts on Instagram reels on Tik TOK.
00:00:59
Fab
He watches the entire videos on YouTube and you can find us all at the Bush league huddle podcast. So please, ladies and gentlemen, and like follow, subscribe, share to all your friends. We don't discriminate. We want all genders. We know we want all races. We want you guys to just to continue to lock in and listen to all the stuff that we got to tell you, because we're going to be,
00:01:19
Fab
We're going to be rocking and rolling through the free agency, through the draft that's coming up right now. We've got the draft in April. Fun stuff. Then we've got training camps. The NFL season never dies. It never ends. There's no such thing as an off-season.
00:01:31
Fab
We don't have an off-season either. I haven't slept in four days. so Let's go, ladies and gentlemen. Come on. We're going to get rocking and rolling right now. We've got part two of free agency recap to get going. I've got to catch breath. Sorry about that. That was a long intro. I'm sorry.
00:01:42
Fab
I've been playing a lot of PS5, if I'm being honest.
00:01:43
Roger Emeka
Why haven't you slept in four days?
00:01:49
Fab
Gran Turismo.
00:01:50
Roger Emeka
Okay. Better than what i what I was thinking based off that amazed that fire intro.
00:01:54
Fab
Appreciate that. Thank you. Came off right off the cuff. Right off the cuff. I am. I am at this.
00:02:00
Nacc
He's ready to be friends with Demidov, this guy.
00:02:01
Fab
Oh, a hundred.
00:02:05
Fab
I did go skiing last week, but actual skiing. um Moving on.

Bengals' Offense Strategy: Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins

00:02:12
Fab
So since, since our last episode last week, we got some major news. Actually, this is actually massive. Jamar Chase signed a four-year extension worth $161 million. dollars He is now the highest paid non-quarterback player, along with his wide receiver roommate, T. Higgins, who signed a four-year $115 million dollar extension, who is also now the highest paid wide receiver too.
00:02:37
Fab
I know in a press conference that they had, I think it was. Yes, exactly. Thank you, Nick. You beat me too there in a press conference. I think it was today, the press conference, where they,
00:02:46
Roger Emeka
Yesterday.
00:02:46
Nacc
Yesterday.
00:02:46
Fab
yet yesterday. Yeah. And where they, they don't see themselves as one or two, which I kind of, i kind of like from a camaraderie standpoint, but now the, um, the bangles with their top three players have a combined $94 million dollars cap hit.
00:03:03
Fab
When you combine Burrow T Higgins and DeMar Chase's cap hit for 2025, uh, not you eloquently put it as about 33.4% the cap. So, Like, Mac, what do you make of this? Is this a good strategy to build a team? Because obviously these are three of the highly most highly coveted offensive weapons in the NFL.
00:03:25
Fab
But spending that much money on just three of them.
00:03:30
Fab
What are your thoughts on that?
00:03:30
Nacc
Yeah, look, I'm a bit, I feel like I'm, obviously Jamar Chase had to be done.
00:03:35
Roger Emeka
you
00:03:36
Nacc
ah That one was a no-brainer. um Top three wide receiver in the league, hands down. um Can maybe even make the argument that he is the best wide receiver in the league at the moment. So that one for me was a no-brainer.
00:03:49
Nacc
ah Could have been much cheaper if they did it last year, but they decided to wait. um The Tee Higgins one kind of surprised me. I really thought that He either played on the franchise tag and then left next year, but they decided to go all in.
00:04:07
Nacc
as i As you alluded to, it's 33% of the cap. that's just That number is is going to go up as the years continue. And they're still short on defense. So I think I would have preferred given giving that T. Higgins money Hendrickson, perhaps, because I don't know how they're going to finagle getting him signed.
00:04:30
Nacc
So it's funny, you see a lot of memes are going to win games like 97, 94 this year. ah The defense was horrible. They haven't done anything or much of anything to help with that for 2025.
00:04:40
Fab
Mm-hmm.
00:04:44
Nacc
So, hey, in a fantasy standpoint, you definitely want to own this offense. You want a piece of this offense somewhere because it's going to be electrifying. They're going to score tons of points.
00:04:56
Nacc
And just one more thing on T. Higgins. He's... Missed a lot of time with injuries, right? So another signing where they're kind of rolling the dice four more years. I don't know how it's going to turn out.
00:05:08
Nacc
Fantasy perspective, I love it. But real life, I think I would have done without Higgins and probably paid Hendrickson. But again, Burrell wanted his guys. So what Burrell wants, Burrell gets. So I think it came down to that.
00:05:24
Fab
i I agree with you on a fantasy perspective standpoint. I think you do want to own any one of these guys because they're most likely going to be playing from behind. i don't think they're going have too many leads, which was the defense that they have.
00:05:35
Fab
I think they're taking a page out of the Philadelphia Eagles book. and And Joe Burrow said so as much, right? I mean, you kind of want to make your quarterback happy. You want to bring the band back together and all that stuff. um The injury concerns for Tee Higgins are there. i don't disagree.
00:05:48
Fab
But also, like, the caps are going to continue to go up. And the projected cap numbers for the following for for the years that are that are following this one are just going to get higher and higher and higher.
00:06:02
Fab
So I don't hate it. They're going to have to hit on all of their draft picks going forward and definitely forever. um i Off the top of my head, I don't know how good or how bad they've been when it comes to drafting defensive players.
00:06:15
Fab
I think Trey hendris ah trey Hendrickson is is a homegrown talent. But beyond that, though, I can't really comment. But Like it's,
00:06:24
Nacc
They haven't hit in the last two years.
00:06:26
Fab
yeah. So there you go. So that that's that's the bigger concern.
00:06:28
Roger Emeka
No, Hendrickson's from New Orleans.
00:06:31
Fab
Oh, there you go. So yeah, so those are those are larger concerns for me because their pro scout has to, and the rookie scouts really have to knock it out of the park every single season from now on, I think. And that's going to be much more pressure on the on the front office than anything else.
00:06:46
Fab
But we're going to wait and see for 2025 because at least it's going to be an offense that's going to be fun to watch every single week.

49ers and Vikings Trade Impact on Running Backs

00:06:52
Fab
Another move that thought was very interesting. Jordan Mason from the Niners was traded to the Vikings for, I think, a six-round pick.
00:07:00
Fab
ah So now he joins Aaron Jones in that backfield. He signed a two-year contract, $10.5 million. dollars I don't like this for Aaron Jones. This bothers me a little bit. I think now this is... We saw Jordan Mason. He's got some juice. He played really well last year for the Niners in those relief spots for for um
00:07:19
Roger Emeka
Thank you.
00:07:20
Fab
Christian McCaffrey when he was injured. And I guess the Vikings saw that. like I love what the Vikings are doing just the by the by. i think they're doing a fantastic offseason. But i really don't like this for for Aaron Jones, who I thought i had a bit of a resurgence last year and in in some spots. And now it's just a back that I don't want to touch. I don't know if you agree with me, Roger, about that.
00:07:39
Roger Emeka
Yeah, I think you hit it, hit the nail on the head, Fab. I don't like it for Aaron Jones either. you have to remember he's 30 years old, right? And the Vikings are running a very similar running system than the 49ers, a ton of outside zone. So I saw a stat on Twitter, according to Datorama, on outside run outside zone run schemes in 2024, the Vikings ran the seventh most last year.
00:08:04
Roger Emeka
Yards per carry, Aaron Jones had 4.38. Jordan Mason on outside zone runs was 5.86.
00:08:13
Nacc
well
00:08:13
Roger Emeka
And he had a double the missed tackles forced per attempt on outside zones.
00:08:13
Fab
Hmm.
00:08:15
Fab
well
00:08:18
Roger Emeka
So like outside zone is when you stretch... Like the running back stretches it outside and then hits the hole, which, you know, you want a younger, more explosive back. So I agree with you completely. This is a kind of a backfield to avoid, but I could see Jordan Mason creeping up because Jones has injury history. And also he's, he's hitting that 30, 30 year old mark where, you know, I don't like, I don't think he's Derek Henry.
00:08:41
Roger Emeka
I don't think he's going to be the type that just keeps getting better and better as he ages, right?
00:08:42
Fab
no
00:08:44
Roger Emeka
So um I think from a team perspective, though, this is a great move to to really have a two-headed monster. From a fantasy perspective, I fully agree, Fab. It's something I would maybe shy away from.
00:08:56
Fab
yeah And Aaron Jones wasn't exactly a running back that was known to carry the rock 250, 280 times a season either, right? i did A lot of his lot of the benefits that come with Aaron Jones is when he's fresh. So I think having a split backfield does work to their advantage. But, I mean, did these these both these guys are like what are running back threes with upside, I think, for 2025, unfortunately. Like, if Aaron Jones does get injured, Jordan Mason can be interesting.
00:09:22
Fab
But it's ah it's wait and see.
00:09:23
Roger Emeka
Well, well that maybe the the devil's advocate, sorry, i don't know if you were going to jump in, but the devil's advocate on that is it's very likely, and I'm sure we'll talk about it after, that J.J. McCarthy will be the QB.
00:09:34
Roger Emeka
you know Do they rely more on a more heavy run game? And you know we have seen, and Nak, you allude to it all the time, it's very rare you have a a single backfield ah single running back backfield, right?
00:09:38
Fab
Yeah.
00:09:48
Roger Emeka
We have seen two running backs eat and still be decent from a fantasy perspective.
00:09:48
Fab
yeah
00:09:52
Roger Emeka
So that's kind of the devil's advocate aspect of it. I think it'll depend on how much the the Vikings rely on J.J. McCarthy, though.
00:10:01
Nacc
Yeah, well, with ah with a rookie quarterback or technically rookie seasoned quarterback, they're probably going to have to rely a lot on the on the run. So, I don't know.
00:10:12
Nacc
I think wide receiver three is pushing it a little bit too far. Yeah.
00:10:15
Roger Emeka
Running back three. Oh, I was to see.
00:10:16
Nacc
Yeah, running back three. RB3, what did I say?
00:10:20
Roger Emeka
oh by
00:10:20
Fab
You said wide receiver, but it's fine.
00:10:21
Nacc
Wide receiver? Yeah, yeah.
00:10:21
Fab
we all make mistakes. It's okay.
00:10:23
Nacc
Yeah, I know. First time it's not you. um I think RB3 is a bit harsh. I could see i could see an avenue where... um
00:10:37
Nacc
where aaron Aaron Jones could still finish top 20, I still see an avenue where it could happen. Definitely Mason is going to eat into that, but I know the Vikings do like Jones a lot, so I don't think he's pushed to the side completely. But again, I've been saying it since last year. There's not many backfields out there that have um that three down back, you know, besides the, even Derek Henry's not on the field, three downs, right?
00:11:01
Nacc
Besides maybe Saquon Barkley, who's playing a lot, a lot more than their backup did. you need ah You need a one-two punch, and I think, again, you said it you said it fab, the they wanted to they want running backs to stay healthy, right, for the playoff run. So this is a great way to do it.
00:11:18
Fab
Yeah. Speaking of helping, ah speaking of helping your running back stay healthy. So the Niners, uh, re-signed Kyle use check, uh, to a two year, $8 million dollars contract. I'm very happy about that. I hope he ends his story with, with the Niners. Uh, I was kind of upset that there was some, that conversation that he might not stick around over there. He was a free agent. They didn't re-sign him. There was some conversation. He might not be sticking around.
00:11:42
Fab
turns out that that's all, uh, that, that's, um, It's all rumors. And he did resign with the Niners for a two-year contract on $8 million, which is fantastic.

Chargers' Offseason Moves and Najee Harris

00:11:52
Fab
ah it's Sticking with the Chargers a little bit, Mekhi Becton, two-year contract, $20 million. dollars So as rees no longer with the Philadelphia Eagles, the reclamation project clearly has paid benefits.
00:12:07
Fab
And Mekhi Becton is now going to be starting on a and a very, very nice LA Chargers team. Like you, you, you love everything they're doing right now. I'll be honest with you. And I think this, this gives a push to Najee Harris.
00:12:22
Fab
It's added protection for, ah for Justin Herbert. Um, I don't know. I just see positives all across the board about this. ah Roger, I think you have something to say.
00:12:32
Roger Emeka
I just don't like what they did on the outside. Like, bringing back Mike Williams, and he was he was so bad with the Jets. He was okay with the Steelers. He connected a little bit, but they need speed. They need outside speed.
00:12:45
Roger Emeka
ah Outside speed that could catch the ball, which Quinton Johnson still can't do.
00:12:49
Fab
True, I know from experience.
00:12:50
Roger Emeka
And they did they did not they did not solve that.
00:12:50
Nacc
Yeah.
00:12:52
Roger Emeka
yeah Will it happen in the draft? Maybe. But where they're drafting in the 22nd pick, that's like kind of Matthew Golden range. He might be gone before that.
00:13:01
Fab
I was gonna say.
00:13:02
Roger Emeka
I really think i think they're going to take Colston Loveland because he's he's from Michigan. But aside from that, I agree with you. I love what they did on the trenches. I love what they did on defense, on the offensive line. They just need some some outside speed.
00:13:16
Nacc
I think you're going to see a ah redemption year from Harris. I think he's going to catch a lot of balls also out of the backfield.
00:13:23
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:13:23
Nacc
it's going to go back to ah rookie season, first couple of years in Pittsburgh where he was catching the ball. He even alluded to it in his press conference where he was saying, ah they didn't utilize me properly. I could have been doing so much more and whatever.
00:13:35
Nacc
And okay, he might not be the the fastest running back, but now give him a great offensive line and Better QB, obviously, better QB play. um I think we're going to see a better a much better year.
00:13:47
Nacc
all you want Probably his best year in the NFL this year.
00:13:50
Fab
Yeah, I was reading some stats about, um, about a G Harris, actually, even before the podcast, he's seen the highest amount of stat boxes of all running backs in the last two years, including Derek Henry, like 40% of his runs are stacked boxes.
00:14:07
Fab
That that's a, thank you very much.
00:14:07
Nacc
Yeah, because yeah have you seen the have you seen the quarterback that's been behind the line there?
00:14:09
Roger Emeka
Exactly.
00:14:10
Fab
That's ah that's a, that's a product of the quarterback play, right?
00:14:12
Roger Emeka
legit.
00:14:13
Fab
So now that's, that's not going to happen anymore in, uh, in l LA with the chargers, uh, I think he's going to have a very good year. I'm i'm very bullish on Najee Harris. I really am.
00:14:24
Fab
Plus, he has a backfield to himself. Like they have, and I forget his name. the other There's another running back that they have that had a few.
00:14:30
Roger Emeka
Come on, Ivedel.
00:14:30
Fab
so That's it. Thank you.
00:14:32
Nacc
vidal
00:14:32
Fab
I'm sure Gavelle's to take over for a little bit there. But I mean, Najee Harris can push for 280 carries next year. Plus, he's on a one-year contract.
00:14:40
Roger Emeka
So we but are we are we back on Najee Harris Island? are we Are we buying stock again on Najee Harris Island?
00:14:45
Fab
I wasn't ah wasn't necessarily not on his island. He just wasn't somebody that I was looking for. The guy has been consistent. He's been a model of consistency in the first four years in the NFL.
00:14:56
Nacc
He's said it and forget it. RB2 with RB1 upside next year.
00:15:01
Fab
Yeah, easily. Yeah.
00:15:03
Roger Emeka
I like him more. i just, i find he's, but if if you if you're if what you're saying is true, i agree. If he reverts back to Pittsburgh Steelers, Najee Harris, he's an RB3. And like, I just think of i just think of Guido,
00:15:14
Nacc
but what's But what's Pittsburgh Steelers' Najee Harris?
00:15:17
Fab
It's a thousand yards and six touchdowns.
00:15:17
Roger Emeka
the last two years. But I just thinking of like, guid especially Guido had him last year, man. And like, like, it's, yeah, yeah, for sure.
00:15:24
Nacc
Yeah, he see he's he was in a bad offense, right? With a bad offensive line.
00:15:28
Fab
Yeah.
00:15:28
Roger Emeka
But he's like, i don't know.
00:15:29
Nacc
And he just said stack boxes.
00:15:30
Roger Emeka
I, I,
00:15:32
Nacc
like Those play huge factors, right?
00:15:33
Roger Emeka
Yeah, I still think he's a good player. He's a solid player. I still think he's a bit limited in terms of like movement. and he's not goingnna <unk> i think he's a better real-life running back than he is fantasy running back. But let's see. if And I mentioned it one pod or two pods ago where Herbert had his best season when Austin Eckler caught for 100 catches.
00:15:57
Roger Emeka
So again, I'm not disagreeing with you guys. I'm just saying like, that's the best case scenario. If it's not best case scenario for Najee Harris, I'm like very ah weary of of picking him as like ah an RB2 personally.
00:16:03
Nacc
Thank
00:16:10
Fab
you know You know what I see this situation as? Last year we spoke about it with Terry McLaurin, how he's consistent, but he's always not popping off all that much. And he saw what happened to him last year with a good quarterback who actually throws the ball properly.
00:16:21
Roger Emeka
Okay.
00:16:24
Fab
he's These are good players that have never been in and and high-end or very good situations.
00:16:31
Roger Emeka
Good comp.
00:16:32
Fab
And now I think we can say that about Najee Harris too. I'm not saying he's going to be wide receiver one a running back one or even finish in the top 12. But I think, yeah, we all make mistakes.
00:16:40
Nacc
See? see
00:16:42
Fab
fine. But I think finishing in the top 15 is not crazy. ah really don't I really don't think so. A lot of carries were vacated. A lot of carriers are vacated. The line got better. Offensive weapons got better. Yeah.
00:17:01
Fab
We're going to... We'll revisit this when we come up to our rankings, you know, in a few in a few months. Like I said in the intro, I almost popped a blood vessel. But, like, you know, we're going to be...
00:17:11
Nacc
Thank you.
00:17:12
Fab
We're going this again, but we're going to keep a rolling, though. Cooper Cup, three-year, $45 million dollars contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

Seahawks' Offensive Changes with Cooper Kupp

00:17:21
Fab
Roger, I know you had something to say about this because you were he's a Washington guy going back to Washington. Is that it?
00:17:27
Roger Emeka
Yeah, went to Eastern Washington. then obviously going to... I thought it'd be a good... The fit is weird with JSN, um but like the the homecoming, I think, is is is cool for him.
00:17:36
Fab
yeah
00:17:39
Roger Emeka
you know Stays on the West Coast, where obviously he started with the Rams. it's It's all about health with Cooper Cup, right? like I think fit aside, you know the fact that JSN plays more in the slot, the fact that Cooper Cup, especially at this stage of his career, is more of a limited player, needs to be in the slot.
00:17:55
Roger Emeka
I think he's still very good wide receiver when healthy, but you saw a lot of diminished play from him from a speed perspective. And of course, staying healthy, that'll be the key. If he can't stay healthy, don't know what the cap I don't know what the guarantee number is on that, but it's all about health with Cooper Cup.
00:18:16
Roger Emeka
And let's see what Sam Darnold too, right? Like he's been playing with Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford his entire career.
00:18:19
Fab
Yeah.
00:18:24
Roger Emeka
Those are guys who are very accurate, ah very cerebral players. They get the ball out of their hands very quickly, which the worst parts of Sam Darnold are not that.
00:18:35
Roger Emeka
So when you play with timing, which is what Cooper Cup does, there could be some growing pains on that front with Sam Darnold.
00:18:43
Nacc
Yeah, and just to piggyback on what you said about JSN playing in the slot, he played seventy almost 74.3% of his snaps were in the slot last year, and Cooper Cup played 63% of the time in the slot last year.
00:19:01
Nacc
So I agree with you. I don't i don't like the fit per se in football sense because I just don't see... like as Did Jingba play a lot of of X in ah in college?
00:19:14
Nacc
or he played a lot i feel i feel like he played a lot of slot, right?
00:19:14
Roger Emeka
No, his big, his 1,500 or 1,300 or 1,500-yard season, was was looking at it a few days ago. and X or out wide, he was, I think, 340 snaps.
00:19:26
Roger Emeka
on the In the slot, it was about like 40 or 50. But I think, i't not to take over, but I really think he will still transition well because he has the athletic ability to still play out wide.
00:19:38
Roger Emeka
Very similar, if if you look at his combine stats, and and build very similar to Stefan Diggs, like 4-4, 4-5, 40, the broad jump, the height, the bench press, whatever.
00:19:44
Fab
Mm-hmm.
00:19:49
Roger Emeka
And Stefan Diggs has played 70% of his snaps out wide. So I really, and a lot of analysts also think that, among them Matthew Harmon, Matt Harmon, think that Jason could still play out wide. It's Cup that I think we all agree is a bit concerning.
00:20:04
Nacc
Yeah, Cup for sure can't play out wide at the moment. And it just it's now JSN is going to get the CB1 right on the other side of the field rather than the slot receiver, which he saw for, again, almost 75% of the time last year.
00:20:14
Fab
Yeah.
00:20:18
Nacc
So that also concerns me as well as taking that step. I'm not saying he's not talented. Very, very good receiver. But now going up against a different type of corner every game. That draws concerns. And again, you brought in you bought into another one of my concerns is the timing with Darnold.
00:20:34
Nacc
This is where the growing pains are going to happen. This is where I think Darnold's interception numbers are going to go way up, I think, because of that um that timing issue. So again, I'm not sold on this offense. Some talented players, but I don't know how it's going to work. And I think there's just too much of um a mixture. i would have liked more I would like to keep DK Metcalf more hurt than than than than bring in Cooper Cup, right?
00:20:56
Roger Emeka
Seriously.
00:20:57
Fab
Yep.
00:20:59
Nacc
you I understand you got a second round pick for him, so maybe they do go out and draft a big X receiver um with that at pick, but I don't know. Right now I'm not, I'm not sold and huge money for, like you said, Raj, for a guy who's very injury prone.
00:21:14
Nacc
He's missed, he's missed 17 games, sorry, 18 games in the past three years. So almost a full season basically in the last three.
00:21:21
Roger Emeka
Yep.
00:21:24
Nacc
So,
00:21:26
Fab
I was also looking up some stats on Cooper Cup. His average rate of separation has been decreasing in the last four years as well. So going back to the whole timing issue with Sam Darnold and the fact that their offensive line is... The the the seat Seattle Seahawks offensive line is is considerably worse than the Vikings offensive line. So I think that's going to play into that as well. So yeah, I don't disagree with any of you guys right now. I'm not a huge fan of the signing either. I'm happy for a Cup. He got some more of the bag, which is great, but...
00:21:53
Fab
Seahawks offense as a whole from a fantasy perspective. I'm not running towards it. Another offense I'm not really running towards, especially the backfield.

Cowboys' Roster Moves and Draft Strategy

00:22:02
Fab
ah Dallas Cowboys. They made a move, guys.
00:22:05
Fab
They signed Miles Sanders to a one-year $1.3 million dollars contract. I look at their backfield now with Javante Williams and Miles Sanders, and I think of the Spider-Man mean, or just the two Spider-Mans pointing at each other.
00:22:15
Nacc
you
00:22:16
Fab
Because I was looking at them up, and they're I mean, obviously Sanders is like four years older and and and Williams is is hopefully rejuvenating his career. I would hope so at least.
00:22:27
Fab
But, you know, similar build, similar styles, similar running backs, sharing the backfield. um I don't know. I feel like but we we spoke about last week. Like, I don't know why they got rid of Rico Dowell, quite frankly, to sign Miles Sanders. And, you know, now you're really trading four quarters for a dollar, I feel like.
00:22:44
Fab
But
00:22:44
Nacc
I feel like they traded four quarters for 75 cents there.
00:22:47
Fab
yeah, on it.
00:22:47
Nacc
Like
00:22:48
Fab
Yeah, true. I wouldn't disagree with you on that.
00:22:51
Nacc
I'm confused. I'm that's the only word I have for this. I don't even want to spend any more breath on it because it's just not worth it. I'm just completely, completely confused.
00:22:59
Fab
What I do think, though...
00:22:59
Nacc
You, you went, it went from not wanting Derek Henry last year. Remember?
00:23:03
Fab
Yeah.
00:23:04
Nacc
They said no on Derek Henry last year to having a good running back with Rico Dotto, who showed juice to bring it back Zeke. First of all, which was I still like that was a mistake. Bringing back Zeke, having Rico Dotto, who showed juice, then kicking him out of the building to take an injury prone Javante Williams, who's never who was who came into the league with such promise and never lived up to the hype.
00:23:13
Fab
Yep.
00:23:24
Nacc
And then even Miles Sanders, who's also been injury prone. I'm just I'm confused.
00:23:30
Fab
I think this, I'm saying, as I'm thinking this, I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen. I would think that Dallas Cowboys in our are now out of drafting or running back in the first round. But then again, you can never count out Jerry Jones with his unpredictability.
00:23:45
Fab
But yeah, don't know. Roger, you have any thoughts on that?
00:23:48
Roger Emeka
ah Yeah, I don't know i don't know if Gentis going past the Bears. Actually, quite frankly, I don't even know if he's going past the Raiders. there's There's been a lot of smoke with the Raiders as well.
00:23:54
Fab
Yeah, I was looking at, yeah, yeah, I think so.
00:23:55
Nacc
A lot of mocks. have them going to the Raiders.
00:23:57
Roger Emeka
lot of mocks having one of the Raiders. And then Omari and Hampton, as as much as some scouts or some analysts feel like he's on par with Gentis, are you going to take the second best running back in the draft class at 12?
00:24:09
Nacc
At 12? Yeah.
00:24:09
Fab
Yeah.
00:24:10
Nacc
No.
00:24:10
Fab
Yeah.
00:24:11
Nacc
no
00:24:11
Roger Emeka
So, I don't know.
00:24:12
Fab
No, they need, they need offensive line help in the Dallas Cowboys amongst, amongst other things.
00:24:12
Roger Emeka
We'll see. And wide receiver.
00:24:17
Fab
um They don't need quarterback help. Sorry. I was referring to the other team and and in, in, in the big state of Texas, Derek Stingley Jr. Signed a three year, $90 million dollars extension with the Houston

Ravens and Cowboys' QB Situations

00:24:29
Fab
Texans.
00:24:29
Fab
Now making him the highest paid quarterback.
00:24:30
Nacc
I
00:24:32
Fab
And they have a very nice secondary, but I think that's about all they have right now. um Cooper rush. Signed a two-year, $12.2 million dollars contract with the Baltimore Ravens.
00:24:42
Fab
um
00:24:43
Nacc
i like this.
00:24:43
Fab
this isn't I like this a lot for Baltimore, and I don't think this is very good for Dallas. We were speaking about a little bit right before when the show started. um Cooper Rush had a very nice rapport with CeeDee Lamb because in the last few seasons, Cooper Rush actually had to step in for Dak Prescott for injury or otherwise.
00:25:02
Fab
And You know, CeeDee Lamb didn't necessarily skip a beat. Like, instead of being a high-end wide receiver one, he was a low-end wide receiver one, at least you're still getting those dividends at the end of every single game. Now, I can't even name you who their backup quarterback is.
00:25:15
Fab
And Dak Prescott, if he gets injured, like, what does that happen to CeeDee Lamb? And I know this is way too far in advance even have this sort of speculation, but I don't get this move for Dallas as well.
00:25:27
Fab
Like, I feel like this was going to be, I feel like having Cooper Rush in your quarterback room was a lot more helpful.
00:25:30
Roger Emeka
Any relation to Greer?
00:25:32
Fab
was a lot more, you know, like a more of a ah risk free sort of move to have him. And, and I, I love this for Baltimore. This is really weird for Dallas.
00:25:44
Nacc
I can interject, it's Will Greer who's the only other quarterback on the roster.
00:25:49
Fab
Apologies, Mr. Greer. You can still listen to the podcast and follow us on all social medias. um
00:25:54
Roger Emeka
and relation to mike greer
00:25:56
Fab
Is he black?
00:26:01
Nacc
he's not.
00:26:01
Fab
What's wrong, Fab? They can't be the GM of the Sharks?
00:26:03
Roger Emeka
Mac, it's Mac. It's really easy to understand. Is he black or not?
00:26:07
Nacc
I actually think he's white.
00:26:09
Roger Emeka
so ah Okay.
00:26:09
Nacc
actually think he's white.
00:26:10
Roger Emeka
Okay.
00:26:10
Nacc
But no, Will Greer, the Dallas, is not related to Mike Greer, the former NHL and current general manager of the Sharks.
00:26:11
Roger Emeka
Next question.
00:26:19
Roger Emeka
yeah You didn't know Mike Rizzo?
00:26:19
Fab
and How did I miss that?
00:26:20
Nacc
Yeah. Yeah.
00:26:21
Fab
Wow. Good for him.
00:26:24
Nacc
Yeah.
00:26:25
Roger Emeka
Why?
00:26:25
Fab
Good for him.
00:26:25
Roger Emeka
Why? Because affirmative action?
00:26:27
Fab
No, because he wasn't necessarily a hockey star apart from... He had a few years. annoy You want to get into this conversation?
00:26:32
Roger Emeka
I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
00:26:33
Fab
Let's get into conversation.
00:26:33
Roger Emeka
I'm kidding.
00:26:34
Fab
That's okay.
00:26:35
Nacc
ah
00:26:36
Roger Emeka
you know what, Fab? I didn't, like, we talked about it just before the show. i didn't I wasn't thinking of it that way in terms of, like, from a fantasy perspective, it makes you less weary, more weary of drafting CeeDee Lamb, but he's missed 14 games Dak has in three seasons.
00:26:54
Fab
yeah it's not nothing, man.
00:26:55
Roger Emeka
That's a lot of time.
00:26:56
Fab
Yeah.
00:26:58
Roger Emeka
and like two out of those three seasons, he's been very pedestrian.
00:27:02
Fab
Yeah. Like you're still drafting CD lamb as a top three wide receiver. was going to say running back as a top three wide receiver, but that's not going to change. It's just that like, it might be the deciding factor. If I decided to go CD or Jamar chase, is not really. I probably go Jamar chase, but you know what I mean? Right? Like it could be a deciding factor.
00:27:22
Fab
If you're looking at who the backup QB is, my goodness, why would you get rid of Cooper rush?
00:27:26
Nacc
Thank you.
00:27:27
Fab
He was so serviceable. Anyways. Um, speaking of backup quarterbacks, Mac Jones signed with the 49ers.
00:27:30
Roger Emeka
So, since.
00:27:33
Fab
I don't have any details on the contract, but then again, it's Mac Jones, uh, Cam Robinson, the offensive lineman signed with Houston on a one-year $14.5 million dollars deal so

Texans and Patriots' Signings: Defense vs. Offense

00:27:45
Fab
deal.
00:27:45
Fab
So I guess this is to cover the ah left tackle hole that was left by the Houston Texans trading Laramie Tunsil. Um, and speaking of Houston as well, they also re-signed their,
00:27:57
Fab
Big edge rusher, Danielle Hunter, for a one-year $35.6 million. dollars So he's actually making just a hair below um Miles Garrett and just a bit above Max Crosby.
00:28:08
Roger Emeka
I'm so confused about that one. Sorry. Like, I thought he was...
00:28:10
Fab
Yep.
00:28:10
Roger Emeka
Didn't he sign there last year?
00:28:12
Nacc
It was a one-year deal, I think, last year, too.
00:28:13
Roger Emeka
it was another one-year deal.
00:28:14
Fab
Yep.
00:28:14
Nacc
Mm-hmm.
00:28:14
Roger Emeka
Okay.
00:28:15
Fab
Yep.
00:28:15
Nacc
Mm-hmm.
00:28:15
Roger Emeka
Okay. I wasn't sure. I thought it was the long term. Okay. My bad.
00:28:19
Fab
and All this news came out like very, very, very recently. So you guys are getting this straight off of the presses. As we get this information, we send it right to you. We don't waste any time here. ah speaking of Speaking of brand new information that just came right on our doorstep is the Pats, the New England Patriots are hosting Mr. Stefan Diggs, which finally they're hosting a wide receiver that's available and that has not yet been signed.
00:28:43
Fab
And i don't understand why it took them so long to look at Stefan Diggs. They still have a ton of cap space. And Drake May is throwing to a scarecrow and some backup wide receivers that no one's ever heard of.
00:28:54
Fab
So this this should work out. Like, if I'm the Pats, I'm not letting Stefan Diggs leave the the facilities without a signed contract.
00:29:04
Nacc
he's not a one man. And he just came off of, what is it?
00:29:06
Fab
Well, for them, he is.
00:29:07
Nacc
Another ACL old.
00:29:10
Fab
For them.
00:29:10
Nacc
He's plus on the plus side of 30. Uh,
00:29:13
Fab
I don't disagree, but from what's available right now, he is, I think you can almost say he's far and away the best. Like, would you rather have him?
00:29:19
Roger Emeka
Thank
00:29:19
Fab
If you're the Pats right now, would you rather have Stefan Diggs, Murray Cooper, Keenan Allen, Lockett, or just like take swings ah during the draft again, like they've been doing?
00:29:31
Fab
Because clearly they've been very good at drafting wide receivers.
00:29:34
Nacc
I'd probably go Keenan Allen, to be honest with you, if I had to bring in a vet that maybe is better towards maybe mentoring some young wide receivers, but they definitely have to draft one high, right?
00:29:45
Nacc
Like they have to get, and they have to hit on the, on the draft.
00:29:45
Fab
Yeah.
00:29:49
Nacc
I don't know. I don't, I don't think I like the fit personally. Um, you know, he's been that, that guy in the locker room sometimes that causes rifts and I don't know, older,
00:30:02
Nacc
Just came off an ACL, passed 30. It wouldn't be my first choice if I was the Pats, but...
00:30:08
Roger Emeka
i'm I'm surprised Houston is, i mean, they have a pretty decimated wide receiver room. Uh, Tank Dell is going to be out for quite a bit of time. So I'm surprised they're not just re-upping him on ah on a really short team-friendly deal.
00:30:18
Fab
who
00:30:22
Roger Emeka
You have to think, ah to your point, Nak, it is scary in terms of how he has been a detriment to the locker room, especially we saw what we did with the Bills. Have to think if he comes in there, like right now his mark
00:30:33
Nacc
He did the same with the Vikings. Sorry to stop you, but he did kind of the same with the Vikings too, right?
00:30:35
Fab
He did. He did love the Vikings.
00:30:36
Roger Emeka
He did the same with the Vikings at the end. I feel like i feel like there was some stuff with him and Thielen, maybe. Like, the you know, jealous. I don't know.
00:30:41
Fab
Yeah.
00:30:41
Roger Emeka
Maybe I'm over thing.
00:30:43
Nacc
Yes, it was the jealousy part.
00:30:44
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:30:45
Fab
Yeah.
00:30:45
Roger Emeka
um But it seemed like he was a model citizen with the Texans. I kind of agree with Fab. I think it's a good move because they just, they have nothing right now.
00:30:57
Roger Emeka
They have like Taequann Thornton and...
00:30:57
Fab
It's not a necessity.
00:31:00
Roger Emeka
Javon Baker and Polk.
00:31:02
Nacc
hope
00:31:04
Fab
Yeah.
00:31:04
Roger Emeka
like And that's where I don't know if Keenan Allen's the right move because they just have a lot of slot receivers. And, you know, if we talk about a guy who will, like we talk about cup primarily in the slot, like Keenan Allen is like a hundred percent in the slot.
00:31:16
Roger Emeka
Could barely move right now with how many injuries and hamstrings he's had. So um I think it would be.
00:31:21
Nacc
I just, I base it more on like the leadership presence that, that he, that he, that he brings to a young team.
00:31:24
Roger Emeka
Yeah. Fair. Fair.
00:31:27
Nacc
um I just don't think Stefan digs is the ah mentality guy or or right fit for it.
00:31:28
Roger Emeka
Fair.
00:31:33
Nacc
But to your point, if I'm Houston, why wouldn't I want to sign him to one year deal? Maybe he's looking for more. Maybe he's looking for a two or three year deal to to finish off his career and they don't want to give it to him.
00:31:43
Nacc
And,
00:31:43
Fab
Maybe.
00:31:44
Nacc
Look, coming off an injury, it's not easy to pay a guy, hard to pay a guy on a multi-year deal when you're coming off an ACL injury and you're past the age of 30.
00:31:52
Roger Emeka
Yep. Agreed.
00:31:55
Fab
All the same, I still think that Pat should not let him leave that facility without signing a contract just because out of pure necessity. What about the former league winner in 2024, J.K. Dobbins? We got Nick Chubb. We got Gus Edwards. Gus the Bus. We got all these running backs that have yet to be signed. Do you guys see them falling anywhere?
00:32:12
Fab
For any potential fits. I think Chubb should stick around with Cleveland. I hope he does, but Dobbins and Edwards are more wild cards to me. Mind you, you know what, as I'm thinking of right now, Dallas Cowboys should probably sign both of them and be done with it.
00:32:27
Fab
Uh,
00:32:27
Nacc
with With the draft being so deep,

RB Free Agency and Aaron Rodgers' Decision

00:32:30
Nacc
I would not be shocked if these guys weren't signed until after the draft.
00:32:30
Fab
yeah
00:32:36
Nacc
They're going to be more than likely on one-year deals, but it's going to go to a team that is looking to draft a running back that maybe didn't connect and you know didn't the the draft didn't faulted them properly.
00:32:47
Nacc
And that's where these guys will come in and and pick up the pieces. But if they haven't been signed yet, especially with how deep the draft is. i think they're going to be waiting for a little while.
00:33:00
Roger Emeka
I would watch, sorry, Fab, I would watch out for J.K.
00:33:00
Fab
Don't
00:33:03
Roger Emeka
Dobbins in Cleveland. He played at Ohio State. It could be an interesting homecoming. ah need They will need a running back. I don't know if Jerome Ford is still on the roster as well.
00:33:14
Fab
I believe he is, but yeah.
00:33:15
Roger Emeka
So if you have Ford, you bring back Chubb to to also have Dobbins, Chubb and Dobbins, two injury-prone running backs. but I think it could be an interesting homecoming for for Dobbins who played at OSU.
00:33:28
Fab
I agree. But now on to Panda Watch. I mean, sorry, I got Anchorman in in my head. Rogers rogers Watch 2025. We are on day nine. ah He's still mulling over his options. Probably the still the largest QB domino that has yet to fall because depending on where Rogers signs, you would assume that Russell Wilson and company will also...
00:33:51
Fab
sign in the opposite direction as well. So apparently he was waiting on the Vikings to give him, a I guess, a response. I know there has been some rumors that and the Vikings are not going to go forward with J.G. McCarthy.
00:34:03
Fab
Apparently that's not the case. i don't know what's going on. But all I know is that the Giants and the Steelers are still stuck twiddling their thumbs and waiting for what Aaron Rodgers does for 2025 quite frankly,
00:34:16
Fab
Neither of those two teams have a quarterback. I know the QB visits that have taken place have included Jameson Winston, Flacco, obviously Russell Wilson.
00:34:28
Fab
know the Steelers did sign Mason Rudolph, so at least they have some sort of a contingency plan because Rudolph is obviously familiar with the coaching staff and the offense. a former but I think, yeah, former quarterback for the Steelers last year he played with the Minnesota, the Titans, excuse me, not Minnesota, the Titans.
00:34:44
Roger Emeka
Titans.
00:34:47
Fab
Rogers is making me flustered.
00:34:47
Roger Emeka
That's a ski trip,
00:34:49
Fab
That's a ski trip. That's ski trip.
00:34:51
Nacc
Must have hit his head hard.
00:34:52
Fab
Dude, it's day nine. I'm exhausted. Like, I guess we're like, he's, yeah, he, which had we talking about over here?
00:34:54
Roger Emeka
bump eh? Bumped his head. Yeah, it's just his only...
00:34:56
Nacc
Guys, as they say in Quebec, attach that suc because um it's there's going to be no end in sight.
00:35:05
Fab
Yeah, I agree with that.
00:35:06
Nacc
ah still I still think that we are, it will go all the way into past the draft and until teams get on the field and see primarily the Vikings, see what they have in J.J.
00:35:20
Nacc
McCarthy because they they did say they want to move forward with him. I know they were they turned down some some trade calls for for him.
00:35:23
Fab
Yep.
00:35:26
Nacc
People were calling him to trade. And um yeah, I think I know the Giants are are the a team that is growing a little bit impatient and they might make a move prior to waiting for Aaron.
00:35:32
Roger Emeka
you
00:35:39
Nacc
And I know news out of Steelers camp is they don't mind waiting because if If he does end up signing somewhere else, they're going to roll with Mason Rudolph and or who's in the draft. And honestly, um i'm I'm okay with sticking with Mason Rudolph. I know he had a good rapport with Pickens.
00:35:59
Nacc
He's 9-3-1. He's a starter with the Steelers.
00:36:03
Roger Emeka
Stop.
00:36:04
Nacc
9-3, hey, 9-3-1 as a starter.
00:36:05
Roger Emeka
Stop. but Stop.
00:36:09
Nacc
you can't, you can't, the that stats are stats. completion
00:36:13
Fab
But how many how many wins does he have when he scores when the defense scores more than 20 points?
00:36:14
Nacc
and
00:36:17
Fab
That's what I want to know. 100%.
00:36:18
Nacc
Honestly, and if it's the year to say, hey, put him in there, and if they tank, like this is the year this is the year to do it.
00:36:23
Roger Emeka
Okay. There. There.
00:36:25
Fab
ah hundred percent
00:36:26
Roger Emeka
There.
00:36:26
Nacc
And he has a winning record with the team. He's familiar with it. He's got to win a new offense because Arthur Smith has has since taken over, so he does not know that offense.
00:36:34
Fab
every Every quarterback has a winning record with the Steelers.
00:36:37
Nacc
But that's why...
00:36:39
Roger Emeka
Exactly.
00:36:39
Nacc
That's why...
00:36:40
Roger Emeka
They're not going to tank. They're not going to win at games.
00:36:42
Fab
they're not going to say yeah They're not going to tank.
00:36:43
Roger Emeka
that
00:36:43
Fab
they're they're goingnna be They're going to be 9-8 again.
00:36:44
Nacc
ah you' not over pick it I don't know if Kenny Pickett Mitch Trubisky have winning records with the Steelers, to tell you the truth.
00:36:45
Fab
Kenny
00:36:49
Roger Emeka
Guys.
00:36:50
Fab
Pickett has a Super Bowl ring so he doesn't care about a winning record.
00:36:52
Roger Emeka
Guys, the Steelers and Giants are now are pathetic.
00:36:53
Nacc
Yeah.
00:36:55
Roger Emeka
Like, this is this is like a a soap opera right now. This is like when there's two women in a soap opera and they're fighting for that. It's like Young and the Restless right now. This is like, like and I was listening saying to First Things First, like Nick Wright, or it was like Kevin Wells.
00:37:04
Fab
Yeah. Yeah.
00:37:10
Roger Emeka
Like, you're the Steelers.
00:37:12
Fab
yeah
00:37:12
Roger Emeka
Like the Steelers like these are and Giants. these are like
00:37:14
Nacc
Yeah, but okay, so let me ask you.
00:37:15
Roger Emeka
but where we win These are massive brands that are just twiddling their thumbs waiting for Aaron Rodgers, like 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers to be the savior.
00:37:23
Nacc
Okay.
00:37:24
Roger Emeka
Like, this is my...
00:37:25
Nacc
Now, I understand what people are saying that their but okay, so if it's not Aaron Rodgers, who is it then? What's left out there?
00:37:31
Roger Emeka
what
00:37:31
Nacc
what do you what do you What do you do?
00:37:32
Roger Emeka
Well, it's lack of a plan.
00:37:32
Nacc
they They went after Fields, Fields, Fields.
00:37:34
Roger Emeka
lack of ah It's a lack of a plan, Nack, from both teams.
00:37:37
Nacc
Well, the plan the plan was the plan was to go ah Fields, and apparently the offers were very similar, and he ended up choosing the Jets because obviously they benched him, and he's like, what's that?
00:37:46
Roger Emeka
I'm blaming him at this point.
00:37:48
Nacc
was that
00:37:49
Roger Emeka
I'm blaming him at this point, bro.
00:37:50
Nacc
No, i don't I don't blame him either.
00:37:51
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:37:52
Nacc
I'm i'm i'm just saying, like we're we're talking about waiting for a quarterback. like Yeah, if you're waiting for a quarterback and you have no fall plan, like for sure, but who else is out there right now that you're waiting for that you're saying like they can't wait for this guy because Who's there?
00:38:09
Roger Emeka
Yes.
00:38:10
Nacc
who who's who's there
00:38:11
Roger Emeka
So so my my my slight rebuttal to that is like... It also feels like, is Aaron Rodgers kind of just doing this to like skip the OTAs and skip the mandatory minicamps?
00:38:22
Fab
Mmm.
00:38:22
Roger Emeka
Because to me, if you're coming into a new team, a new system, if there's new especially the Steelers, like DK Metcalf is there. George Pickens is there. Those are two wide receivers that typically are not the type wide receivers that Aaron Rodgers has success with. he has success with guys who run pristine routes.
00:38:43
Roger Emeka
So if you're going to sign there to wait until, you know, April, May to get there is is to me a big F you to like the, that the continuity of the team.
00:38:55
Roger Emeka
And it's the same thing with the giants, like to get a QB in there in April, May, when OTAs and mini camps are starting, you have to start building rapport with these, with these players.
00:39:04
Fab
Yep.
00:39:05
Roger Emeka
And, and again, this, what happened last year with the jets where Aaron Rogers was, went to Egypt, like, And I love Rodgers. I love Aaron Rodgers as a player. like he was one i like The connection with him and Devontae, I loved it so much. But like it this is this is getting ridiculous. And I'm not even mad at him taking too much time. I think these teams are being ridiculous.
00:39:26
Roger Emeka
41-year-old Rodgers.
00:39:29
Nacc
And honestly, like I agree, i agree to some extent.
00:39:29
Roger Emeka
Wild.
00:39:34
Nacc
And obviously as a fan, you, as a fan of a giants and the Steelers, you want this resolved because you just want to move on and you want to, you know, you don't want the, the, the, the circus, but I think Jay Glazer said it perfectly.
00:39:39
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:39:46
Nacc
um
00:39:46
Fab
Mm-hmm. Yes. yes
00:39:49
Nacc
When you retire from every other sport, you retire from hockey, you can still go play old-timer hockey. You can still get on skates and play with your friends. When you retire from baseball, you can still play catch. You can still do all that all that stuff.
00:40:00
Nacc
When you retire from football, that's it, right? Like it's's it's done. Football is done. You're not playing football anymore. There's no what a charity game where you're just throwing kind of the ball around.
00:40:09
Roger Emeka
Montreal's the best flag football league in the world.
00:40:13
Nacc
Yeah, flag football. It's not the same. Like, flag football. We're talking about flag. Like, this guy is has to pick this guy has to pick his final team ever.
00:40:17
Fab
that's ah That's a reach.
00:40:21
Roger Emeka
Hey, I...
00:40:22
Nacc
And and and i think we I think all three of us can agree the Vikings is the best landing spot for him, right?
00:40:28
Fab
One million percent.
00:40:30
Nacc
Like, out of the three, they're the best positioned to win now with an Aaron Rodgers coming in.
00:40:30
Fab
Best O-line, best offense, everything.
00:40:32
Roger Emeka
Yeah, I would agree.
00:40:33
Fab
Yes.
00:40:36
Fab
Yes.
00:40:38
Fab
Yes.
00:40:38
Nacc
Like, there's no there's no...
00:40:40
Nacc
So, for him... Like, yeah, he's got to be there for, I think, opening. The first time people get in the building is sometime in late April, right after the the draft. When's the draft?
00:40:50
Roger Emeka
April 25th to 27th, I believe.
00:40:52
Nacc
So it's right after. I think it's beginning of May sometime.
00:40:55
Roger Emeka
not he's not quick He's not going. He's not going to that.
00:40:57
Fab
He's not going to be there for that time.
00:40:57
Roger Emeka
He's not going to be there.
00:40:58
Nacc
For what?
00:40:59
Roger Emeka
Whatever, if it's whether it's OTAs, he's not going to
00:41:00
Fab
He won't even be.
00:41:01
Nacc
But there's also reports saying that maybe he just waits and sees if if there's a if there's an injury in camp and sees the situation that he goes to there.
00:41:07
Roger Emeka
there. Yeah.
00:41:07
Nacc
Like, for him, honestly, I look at it on his side like,
00:41:08
Fab
True.
00:41:12
Nacc
why does he have to rush into a decision and choose whatever? You're right. It's the teams that are waiting. But if the teams that are waiting don't have a fallout plan, that's on the team, not Rogers.
00:41:21
Roger Emeka
Yeah, I agree.
00:41:21
Nacc
Like everyone's, everyone's blaming Rogers and making it about him.
00:41:22
Fab
Oh, yeah.
00:41:22
Roger Emeka
ah
00:41:23
Fab
Yeah.
00:41:24
Nacc
But it's like, this is the first time also at 41 years old that he is a UFA. This is the first time he hits the market in his career. So it's like, it's only been nine days.
00:41:37
Nacc
Everyone makes it seem like it's been three months, you know? So I don't know.
00:41:40
Fab
It feels like an eternity.
00:41:40
Nacc
I, Again,
00:41:42
Roger Emeka
You learn from Brett Favre.
00:41:43
Fab
I'm not even going to make that parallel.
00:41:45
Nacc
I just, I,
00:41:47
Fab
Honestly, like i don't I don't like that parallel. I really don't. And I haven't been exactly Aaron Rodgers' biggest fan, but i'm I'm on the same page over here with Knack in the sense that, like, He can take as much time as he wants and nobody's going to put a gun to his head and he can make all this. He can take all the time in the world to make this decision because this is going to be most likely the last team he ever plays for. And he should take as much time as he needs.
00:42:10
Fab
It is 1 million percent on the two franchises. to not have a contingency plan in place. At the very least, at least the Steelers went out and they signed Rudolph.
00:42:21
Fab
Okay, cool. The Giants have done diddly squats and still have Tommy DeVito on their roster as if that's going to be their savior.
00:42:26
Nacc
See, I find the Giants is a little bit worse in a sense, and I'm not trying to nitpick on the Giants fans, but it's like you only have DeVito.
00:42:28
Fab
i
00:42:32
Fab
But you don't have to try. It happens easily.
00:42:33
Nacc
Why wouldn't you have signed Flacco or a Winston? Because even if Rodgers comes in, ah you need a backup.
00:42:37
Fab
Yeah.
00:42:39
Nacc
You can't roll with DeVito as your backup.
00:42:41
Fab
the The only argument that I can have is that perhaps Winston and Flacco wanted to guarantee starting time, wanted to guarantee starts.
00:42:43
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:42:49
Fab
And that's why they left the building.
00:42:50
Nacc
Yeah, but there's there's no there's no other franchise right now that they have guaranteed starting time.
00:42:51
Fab
That's the only thing I can think of.
00:42:57
Nacc
maybe Maybe going back to the Browns, Flacco or Winston could beat out Kenny Pickett. That's the only other scenario where I see they get starting time. And I know the Steelers also had interest Flacco as a backup.
00:43:13
Nacc
which would be strange. I think i guess Flacco wants to hit every AFC North team before is before the end of his career. um It is. Look, it's ah it's it's ah it's a whirlwind of a situation, and obviously the media takes it and spins, and then everyone has, every morning, everyone has their own spin on it, everyone has their own i think but I think on McAfee, Lombardi actually said, he's like, whatever you hear on Aaron Rodgers is fake.
00:43:39
Nacc
He's like, there's no there's maybe two people there's maybe two people in the world, three Macs, that know exactly what's going on, and that's his entourage, and it doesn't get out.
00:43:41
Fab
I believe that. believe that.
00:43:48
Nacc
Nothing gets leaked with Rodgers ever, everything you hear. So honestly, everything you hear in the media is just everything people just spinning it for a story because... Hey, everyone everyone who needs to hate on someone, and it's got to be Aaron Rodgers, so the media will push that as as much as as much as they can, I feel.
00:44:07
Fab
So ladies and gentlemen, check back with us again next week for Roger's watch 2025 day where we're still going to be talking about the exact same thing as we spoke about, uh, for the last 10 minutes over here.
00:44:19
Roger Emeka
These are the days of our lives.
00:44:19
Fab
Uh, seriously, it's just a bunch of reruns.
00:44:22
Nacc
Like sands through the hourglass.
00:44:23
Roger Emeka
Like, yes.
00:44:24
Fab
Oh my God.
00:44:26
Roger Emeka
Yes.
00:44:27
Fab
Wow.
00:44:28
Roger Emeka
I'm more of a, um i was more of a general hospital fan.
00:44:28
Fab
Um, okay. So, i was I was more of a fan of of of having a life and watching regular TV.
00:44:31
Nacc
same thing.
00:44:34
Fab
ah So NFL draft pro days are upon us. As of starting March 3rd, actually, and what I just realized going all the way up to April 4th. ah So we got some, basically some some highly coveted potential NFL rookie prospects that are going to be running their own pro days

Draft Stock and Free Agency Winners

00:44:52
Fab
at their own facilities. Most recently, we had Jalen Milrow, who today,
00:44:56
Fab
The quarterback for Alabama ran 4-3-7-40, which is ridiculous for any player, even more so for a quarterback. I know he's being looked at more as a later-round talent, but I think that um people are going to see that number. It's going to blow off the page, and it's going help his draft stock.
00:45:14
Roger Emeka
you
00:45:14
Fab
um Also, we have Tetraoya McMillan, who ran a wide receiver for Arizona.
00:45:21
Nacc
<unk>a
00:45:22
Fab
Tetraoya McMillan. te troa mcmillan ah He's expected to go in the first round as as probably the first wide receiver taken off the board. But the notable players that we'll be working out later on in the year.
00:45:36
Fab
We have obviously, sorry, in in the month, excuse me. Shadur Sanders and Travis Hunter ah coming out of Colorado State. We have, they're just Colorado.
00:45:43
Roger Emeka
Colorado.
00:45:43
Nacc
Colorado.
00:45:44
Roger Emeka
Do not say... Yeah, it's not Colorado.
00:45:46
Nacc
No, no, no, no, no.
00:45:46
Roger Emeka
Yeah, yeah.
00:45:47
Fab
My bad.
00:45:47
Nacc
no no no no
00:45:48
Roger Emeka
No, no, that's ah a bad one.
00:45:48
Fab
My bad, Shadur.
00:45:49
Roger Emeka
that's ah We might have to edit that one out, actually.
00:45:51
Fab
That's fine. So coming out of Colorado. That's
00:45:53
Nacc
Fab will not be on the pod next week. Don't worry, you ladies and gentlemen.
00:45:55
Roger Emeka
Colorado State.
00:45:56
Fab
My mic hasn't been working anyways. ah April 4th is when their pro day is going to take place. And then Cam Ward, a big quarterback out of Miami, their pro day.
00:46:05
Roger Emeka
Miami State.
00:46:06
Fab
I'm sorry. It's not Miami state.
00:46:07
Roger Emeka
Miami State.
00:46:09
Fab
It's the U.
00:46:10
Roger Emeka
it's It's Florida State. It's Florida State.
00:46:13
Fab
That's what I meant.
00:46:16
Nacc
No, it's Miami.
00:46:17
Fab
It's Miami.
00:46:17
Roger Emeka
We
00:46:19
Fab
Miami. Guys, come on. wait
00:46:20
Nacc
hope You got him good there.
00:46:21
Fab
I even know it's the U. I was like, I had to look at my notes. I was like, well, no, he's not a. It was March 24th.
00:46:25
Roger Emeka
love you.
00:46:26
Fab
Pay attention. Check your checker the TV listings.
00:46:30
Roger Emeka
Just just ah the Mill Road one, it's ah I believe it's unoffic these are unofficial times.
00:46:30
Fab
Follow...
00:46:33
Roger Emeka
The pro day numbers are like stopwatch times.
00:46:34
Fab
Yeah.
00:46:37
Roger Emeka
At first, it was like a range. I was watching on McAfee. They were saying it's in the 4-4-5 to four five range and then i
00:46:45
Nacc
ah was That was Alabama. Alabama clocked him at that, at 4-3-7.
00:46:48
Roger Emeka
and Alabama tweeted out like 437.
00:46:48
Fab
no
00:46:49
Roger Emeka
It's like, okay.
00:46:50
Nacc
Yeah.
00:46:52
Roger Emeka
like
00:46:53
Nacc
It was more 4-4, I think. It's still beast for a huge quarterback.
00:46:56
Fab
yeah it's still still Yeah, it's still ridiculous.
00:46:56
Roger Emeka
Amazing. Yeah, he's amazing.
00:46:58
Nacc
It's still, yeah, he's crazy.
00:46:58
Fab
Yeah.
00:46:59
Roger Emeka
It's crazy.
00:46:59
Nacc
He's what, 6-4, 2-16 or something?
00:47:00
Roger Emeka
I think he's 6'2".
00:47:00
Nacc
6-2, okay.
00:47:01
Roger Emeka
6263. Yeah. crazy
00:47:02
Nacc
so its six four two sixteen or something like ah to run
00:47:04
Roger Emeka
like he's six i think he's six two six two six three yeah
00:47:04
Fab
and Freak.
00:47:06
Nacc
or six two okay
00:47:09
Fab
um Yeah, absolutely. Freak. Freak athlete. So we're going to see where he winds up in the draft in a few weeks. So this part of the podcast, so we have a little bit more time left over here. We're going to go over who we think are the free agency winners and losers so far.
00:47:24
Fab
um Giants and Steelers cannot be included in either one of these categories for obvious reasons, but we're going to be talking about some of the other who we think, you know, obviously had a very good free agency period so far.
00:47:35
Fab
So Roger, we're going to kick it off with you. Who is, who's your free agency winner?
00:47:40
Roger Emeka
I put Matthew Stafford, quarterback from the Rams.
00:47:42
Fab
Hmm.
00:47:43
Nacc
Oh, yeah.
00:47:44
Roger Emeka
yeah Got a new center, colton Coleman Shelton, and they re-signed their right tackle, Alaric Jackson. And obviously getting Devontae Adams to me, we talked about it last week. I think that's a ah huge get. And I think both l LA teams had really, really nice off seasons so far.
00:48:02
Roger Emeka
um so And they're they're going to pick at the end of the draft, so they could either add maybe some more outside outside talent, maybe shore up the defense. i think But I think for Matthew Stafford, he has a he has all his his guns back and then some with the addition of Adams.
00:48:20
Fab
Yep. I don't disagree with you at all. I, I really do love the moves of the Rams in the off season. And if I'm looking at Matthew Stafford right now on my, on my draft board, he is,
00:48:31
Fab
firmly entrenched in QB1 standings. I think he's going to have an awesome year. I really do. um Yeah, I don't disagree with that. Nak, what you?
00:48:41
Nacc
I had two teams.
00:48:41
Roger Emeka
you
00:48:42
Nacc
I had the Chicago bears and the Washington commanders. So, um, the commanders really, really love what they did. They, they went out and traded for, um, Depot Samuel.
00:48:54
Nacc
I know that, uh, not the player he once was, but definitely going to add a new dynamic to that offense. Shored up, uh, Jaden Daniels blindside by trading for Laramie Tunsil.
00:49:05
Nacc
Uh, hopefully he keeps the penalties down, but, uh, did a great job there. Javon Kinlaw, um, defensive tackle. Will Harris, sneaky pick for safety and on on the back end, shoring up them showing up the secondary.
00:49:21
Nacc
And they made like a few other depth moves on the offensive line for backup roles, but like Nate Herbig and Foster Sorrell.
00:49:26
Roger Emeka
Yep.
00:49:30
Nacc
So I really, really like what what they're doing. they also re-signed Noah Brown, which was pretty cool.
00:49:35
Fab
Yep.
00:49:35
Nacc
They kept another wide receiver on there. And then As far as the Bears, they just really shored up, as we mentioned, I think last week, the trenches on the offensive and defensive lines.
00:49:47
Nacc
um They even brought in low-key Devin Duvernay as a, um as a ah yeah, they signed him to a two-year deal to return kicks, which i i really like as well.
00:49:51
Fab
Yeah, that was today that and that was signed, I think.
00:49:57
Fab
Yeah.
00:49:59
Nacc
So I like what those teams i like what those team have done, and I wouldn't be surprised if ah both made the playoffs this year.
00:50:00
Fab
Yeah.
00:50:08
Fab
Yeah, ah definitely will not disagree. We've been speaking about how good the Chicago Bears have been handling this offseason so far for the last little week. They've just been killing it. And obviously the Redskins, I mean, commanders, whatever. Washington have been... have are like it's It just goes to show you that really...
00:50:29
Fab
When you have a fantastic quarterback on a rookie contract that allows you to make those big swings, because they gave up a lot for Laramie Tunso, but you know what?
00:50:34
Roger Emeka
Harris.
00:50:37
Fab
Protecting your most important investment, I think, is is not a bad way to start, and he's a fantastic left tackle, and it's only going to help their offense going forward, I think. so
00:50:46
Nacc
Their win now, even with a rookie quarterback, like do it now with a rookie deal quarterback.
00:50:48
Fab
They are. Yeah. Yeah, 100%.
00:50:51
Fab
Yep.
00:50:51
Nacc
Now, you know he could do it.
00:50:52
Nacc
He made it to the championship. like Put the chips in.
00:50:54
Fab
yep
00:50:55
Nacc
like This is the time to do it. I love what they're doing in Washington. Ever since Snyder's gone, that franchise has took such a turn.
00:50:58
Roger Emeka
and
00:51:00
Roger Emeka
jo harris
00:51:04
Roger Emeka
Yeah, ahigned re resigns Zacherts too, which was a very nice move too, with the fact that that they brought him back.
00:51:05
Fab
Yep.
00:51:07
Fab
Yep.
00:51:08
Nacc
Yep.
00:51:09
Roger Emeka
I love that. he was really cool.
00:51:09
Nacc
Yep.
00:51:09
Fab
Yeah, I love that too. So I have Las Vegas Raiders actually. um Just from the beginning of the offseason, adding Pete Carroll, adding Chip Kelly, and now obviously the trade for Geno Smith, the re-signing Max Crosby, I think
00:51:13
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:51:23
Fab
for the first time in a while, if you're a Las Vegas Raiders fan, like you can actually be a little bit hopeful to be honest with you, that your team is, is seriously competitive. They still need to add a receiver, which I think they might be doing that in the draft. They're picking right now.
00:51:35
Roger Emeka
Six.
00:51:35
Nacc
Eight or six?
00:51:36
Fab
Six, they're picking six. So I guess the book is out. That's going to be Ashton, uh, Ashton Gentry, but still that they should be still targeting a wide receiver. I think maybe neither a free agency or otherwise, but apart from that, um, you know,
00:51:48
Fab
The sun is shining. There's a lot in the tunnel for Las Vegas Raiders right now. like ah Everything that they've done so far, I think, has been really good. And you can get a starting quarterback for a third-round pick in Geno Smith reunited with Pete Carroll.
00:51:59
Fab
It makes sense. It makes so much sense.
00:52:02
Roger Emeka
I know he had a bad finish to the season with the Bills, but I would love if they brought back Amari Cooper. That'd be a really nice reunion there on the on the cheap, and they need a bona fide outside ex-receiver.
00:52:09
Fab
Yep. I would like that.
00:52:13
Fab
Mm-hmm.
00:52:16
Roger Emeka
Let's see if he can maybe rekindle what he did with the the Raiders and and the Cowboys, but I would love for that to happen.
00:52:23
Fab
Yeah, I like that.
00:52:23
Nacc
That's an interesting one.
00:52:25
Fab
I've always been an Amari Cooper fan. i've always felt like he hasn't been given the respect he deserves.
00:52:27
Roger Emeka
Yeah. 100%. hundred percent
00:52:30
Fab
Yeah, him him finishing off this season, little swan song with Las Vegas. I can see it. I can see it.
00:52:35
Roger Emeka
That's
00:52:36
Fab
I also had the Denver Broncos too. um What they've done on defense, what they've done on offense, re-signing a lot of their key offensive players as well, just from an offensive line perspective.
00:52:47
Fab
And I know a lot of their key additions have a lot of injury asterisks associated to them, just like Lucas' name on our trophy. But I had to give him a shot.
00:52:57
Nacc
Wow, low blow.
00:52:59
Fab
Wow.
00:52:59
Roger Emeka
so random.
00:52:59
Fab
Lucas, I hope you're listening.
00:53:00
Roger Emeka
like
00:53:01
Fab
He's got so many call-outs this episode. Good luck on your job interview.
00:53:04
Nacc
We're going to get angry Lucas tomorrow morning.
00:53:04
Fab
um
00:53:06
Roger Emeka
yeah good Yes, mention his job interview.
00:53:09
Fab
Good luck on your job interview.
00:53:10
Roger Emeka
Good idea.
00:53:11
Fab
Job interviews. Um...
00:53:13
Roger Emeka
have to cut that out.
00:53:16
Roger Emeka
We have to cut that out.
00:53:16
Fab
I like what the Denver Broncos did. I really did. like god um guess I how I said Sean Payton finally got his joker in Evan Ingram. He was looking for that type of player. So I can see them definitely making or continue to progress next year.
00:53:32
Fab
I do want to talk about some of the free agency losers. Roger, I want to get your take. We're going start off with you. Who do you think got poo-pooed on in the free agency season so far?

Rookie Prospects and Team Rebuilds

00:53:43
Roger Emeka
I have three that I want to mention. i know it's a lot, but I think we all agree CJ Stroud is going to be a loser ah this year. at least At least he's perceived to be a loser so far with um the loss of Laramie Tunsil.
00:53:56
Fab
have have a go ahead no im gonna say I have a rebuttal on that, but go ahead, finish your point.
00:53:56
Roger Emeka
I know they got Cam Ro... Sorry, go ahead. Well, I know they got Cam Robinson, but he had he allowed the... In 2024, Cam Robinson allowed thirty eight the most hurries with 38 and had the most penalties of 13 in his career.
00:54:12
Roger Emeka
And Tunsil was significantly better from a pass blocking perspective while still having some struggles last year from a ah like penalties and and holding perspective. so And obviously, you mentioned no Stephon Diggs as of now. Maybe he could return.
00:54:26
Roger Emeka
No immediate replacement for for Tank Dell. I've seen mocks where they're they're mocked for Matthew Golden at 25, but as mentioned before, his stock is rising more, and some people have him above Ted Arroa McMillan in the draft.
00:54:41
Roger Emeka
So and tetaro yeah so
00:54:42
Nacc
The Troya.
00:54:44
Fab
Teta Troia.
00:54:45
Roger Emeka
I am a bit weary on your boy, CJ Stroud, Fab, by proxy of of ah Nico Collins being your boy.
00:54:51
Fab
Was he my boy?
00:54:56
Fab
Yes, yes. Just to touch on something that NAC said earlier on the podcast, when you sign your big guns early, you get them on the cheap. Nico Collins is a top five-hour receiver in the NFL making about $24 million dollars a year, which is peanuts compared to everything else.
00:55:09
Fab
But that's another conversation. It's probably only smart thing they've done. I had the Texans as a loser too, actually. But then following some of the moves they did today, was like, okay, it's a little bit more palatable.
00:55:20
Fab
i still don't think they won the offseason, that's for sure. ah But they did at least... you know plug some of the holes they might have created themselves. And the only reason why i say that is because Laramie Tunsil got them a lot of assets, a lot of draft capital for the next few years, which they're going to need because they need to revamp the entirety of the offensive line, not just one specific position.
00:55:30
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:55:36
Roger Emeka
yeah
00:55:42
Fab
So that that's the only caveat that I can say. mean, their secondary is very good. They traded for Gardner-Johnson. So, okay, fine. You can't, maybe you're going have some trouble throwing on them, but...
00:55:54
Fab
you know Then again, CJ Stroud is going to trouble throwing, period. It's not going to be um i'm not goingnna have a lot of exciting games to watch for the Texans, I think.
00:56:04
Roger Emeka
Yeah, he's pressured 27% pressure rate last year.
00:56:06
Fab
Yeah.
00:56:07
Roger Emeka
It was most in the league. um Quickly, the the the the last two I had, just the Saints, just felt it was a very pedestrian offseason.
00:56:14
Nacc
yeah
00:56:17
Fab
Mm-hmm.
00:56:17
Roger Emeka
had the worst pass-blocking rate according to PFF last year. They did not upgrade their O-line at all. They have the 10th pick in a weak O-line draft. ah which are ah they're likely going to be forced to draft for need because of that.
00:56:29
Roger Emeka
So I'm surprised that there was quite a decent amount of offensive line talent in this reagency period, and they didn't really go for anything. So, yeah.
00:56:37
Nacc
if If I can piggyback on that, I had this i had the Saints as well, and three signings they made that people, of people thought they should have been a little bit of a rebuild year for them.
00:56:48
Nacc
And they just signed people to massive contracts where they went, you know, Chase Young, the three years, 51 million, that was kind of a head scratcher. DuJuan Johnson, three years, 30, almost $31 million.
00:56:55
Roger Emeka
Yes.
00:56:56
Fab
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:56:59
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:56:59
Nacc
dollars Justin Reed, three years, $32 million. And then like, and then're like They're obviously now cap strapped for 2026. They have like the lowest cap availability in 2026 at the moment where it's like, wait a second, you don't, aren't you supposed to, like you don't even have a team and now you're, you're like, you're, you're cap strapped.
00:57:18
Fab
yeah
00:57:18
Nacc
So it's like the opposite of what the Patriots kind of had going on. um So yeah, I agree with you, Raj. That was one um That was my main loser of the off season as well.
00:57:27
Roger Emeka
And to that point, Nak, like, what the hell is happening with Derek Carr, man? Like, his dead cap.
00:57:32
Nacc
Yeah. But that's the other thing.
00:57:32
Fab
Yeah.
00:57:32
Nacc
You don't you don't even know what's going on with him.
00:57:32
Fab
but he's he's Is he the starting quarterback next year or is he not?
00:57:37
Nacc
Yes, yes, yes.
00:57:38
Roger Emeka
He has no choice. He has no choice. His dead cap his dead cap is $60 million in 2026, man. Like, this is this is one of the worst contracts in the league.
00:57:44
Fab
Oh, that's a bad contract.
00:57:46
Roger Emeka
And, huh?
00:57:49
Fab
that's up That's a horrible contract.
00:57:50
Roger Emeka
<unk> it's It's awful. it's It's awful. And he's just been a diminished player since he was but like he was benched by the Raiders, man. He he got he got ah Daniel Jones.
00:57:56
Fab
Yeah.
00:58:00
Nacc
Yep.
00:58:00
Roger Emeka
He was Daniel Jones before Daniel Jones.
00:58:03
Fab
Wow, good call.
00:58:03
Nacc
Yes.
00:58:04
Fab
Wow, good call.
00:58:05
Roger Emeka
uh um and then just the last one i had is uh like kind of in the same vein as the saints but like jordan love and the packers second worst drop rate seven percent last year i'm under wide receivers no top wide receiver additions yet uh the the packers don't draft wide receivers high they they just don't so like what are they gonna do like they're gonna bring in another rookie and You know, that wide receiver core, the average age is already like 24 years old, right? So think they missed out.
00:58:36
Roger Emeka
Let's see what they do. Like, maybe you know, maybe they do bring one of the those veteran wide receivers, but man, you you create a glut in that position where you already have a lot of the same types of players.
00:58:49
Fab
You know, how funny is it how things can change in a short amount of time? Because around this time last year, when we first started our podcast, we were talking about how if you're a Green Bay Packers fan right now, things are looking up for you.
00:59:02
Fab
You can be excited. You have a great quarterback, have young wide receiver core. You could be super, super excited.
00:59:06
Nacc
Mm-hmm.
00:59:06
Fab
They i just knocked off the Cowboys in the playoffs. Like they just completely smashed them. And now we look at and like, wait a minute, you guys are missing ah offensive weapons. You guys are missing offensive weapons.
00:59:17
Fab
a number one wide receiver. You don't have that. you know And now it's like you're not doing anything the free agency either. So you're in a little bit of a limbo area? Probably not. Maybe we're over-exaggerating a little bit, but it's just opinions change very, very, very quickly.
00:59:30
Fab
Very quickly.
00:59:31
Roger Emeka
ah Yeah, and that offense was stagnant at the end of the year.
00:59:35
Fab
It was. It was. Look at Dontavian Wicks. The guy has great separation, a fantastic route runner, cannot cannot catch a cold in Wuhan, China.
00:59:40
Nacc
League winner.
00:59:47
Roger Emeka
Oh, God.
00:59:47
Nacc
Oh my god.
00:59:51
Roger Emeka
you're unhing You're unhinged, man. What the hell? Jesus.
00:59:54
Fab
It's 9.30. haven't had supper yet.
00:59:55
Nacc
Get some sleep, man.
00:59:55
Fab
Yeah.
00:59:56
Nacc
Get some sleep.
00:59:57
Fab
That's another thing, too. i'm I'm running on fumes, man. It's been a rough few days.
01:00:00
Nacc
I think um i think you could put the...
01:00:01
Fab
But I...
01:00:04
Nacc
I had obviously the... I think everyone could have had this one, but we've spoken enough about it, so I don't want to... um talk more, but um the Dallas Cowboys, obviously, that's like the major, they they made the cap space by restructuring Dak's contract.
01:00:14
Fab
Yeah. Mm-hmm.
01:00:19
Nacc
Currently have $50 million dollars in cap and they're, I don't know, no not spending it on anyone.
01:00:24
Roger Emeka
Nuts.
01:00:25
Nacc
um But another one is the San Francisco 49ers.
01:00:28
Fab
Mm-hmm.
01:00:28
Nacc
I have to say they lost, they were pillaged in a lot of areas, key players, key positions. So a lot of question marks about their, to maintain their performance levels.
01:00:40
Nacc
I know last year was a tough year where they were still in that Super Bowl contender talk, but even with Brock Purdy, who knows, is he going to be a hold-in at camp?
01:00:50
Nacc
Like there's going to be another off-season story ah with them, surrounding them, plus the IU, they're trying to trade him.
01:00:55
Roger Emeka
you
01:00:57
Nacc
So, feels like that dark cloud didn't go go away from some San Francisco, and it feels like one of those if it when it rains, it pours, and I think i think that's going to continue in 2025. I don't see them sniffing up anywhere near close to division and or fighting for a wildcard spot.

NFL Offseason Challenges and Rule Changes

01:01:17
Fab
Yeah, you guys hit every single nail on the head because those are my three teams that I had lined up to talk about. So I'm going to go a little bit off script right now. So yeah, obviously the the Niners are...
01:01:28
Fab
or it's it's a bit of a hanging fruit had low low-hanging fruit there. I mean, they were just bloodletting the entire offseason, and they kind of had no choice. So you're going to see what it's gonna be interesting to see what does happen with Brock Purdy, and Cowboys are just going to Cowboys. So yeah, it's it's it's tough to be in Texas right now, I suppose.
01:01:43
Fab
um This going very spicy hot take, but i haven't had one in a while. The Eagles.
01:01:48
Roger Emeka
Yep.
01:01:49
Fab
I wouldn't say they lost the free agency, but losing, and this is, I suppose, comes from winning a Super Bowl and comes from having players that or going on expiring contracts during your Super Bowl run, winning the Super Bowl, and now all of us, and they were key contributors to the team, obviously, and key contributors to the fact that they did win Super Bowl. talking about you know ah Milton Williams and Josh Sweat, also trading away C.J. Gardner-Johnson. They did re re-sign Zach Braun, Zach Braun, excuse me,
01:02:15
Fab
Obviously, re re-signed Saquon Barkley. So the majority of that team is still sticking around. It's just that I feel like from a defensive perspective, they lost a bit, and their defense was obviously very good. And then like what happens if the NFL upholds the suggestive rule change that put forth by the Green Bay Packers, and all of a sudden the the the the bro push or the tush push or the brother brotherly shove is going to be outlawed?
01:02:34
Nacc
They won't.
01:02:40
Roger Emeka
bro push i've never heard anyone say
01:02:43
Fab
Just made it up on the fly.
01:02:43
Nacc
That's, that's, that's the first one I've, uh, the first time I've heard that too.
01:02:46
Fab
So yeah, they, you know, apart from signing the trade with the Browns, you know, they, okay.
01:02:50
Roger Emeka
push yeah that's if if if the niners were to do the tush push maybe the bro push it's it's an hour and two it's fine
01:02:51
Nacc
Who are you blow pushing?
01:02:53
Fab
AJ Dillon. Let's keep it on topic, guys. Come on, pay attention. That's...
01:03:02
Fab
Wow. Say that louder, Roger. I don't think everyone heard you. Come on. Speak into the mic.
01:03:10
Roger Emeka
scenario The retention after.
01:03:11
Fab
Yeah, so the... um the retention so yeah the the The Eagles were my pseudo fantasy loser. Free agent loser, excuse me. They lost a lot of pieces. They're still a fantastic team. I'm not going to deny that.
01:03:23
Fab
But I think it's going to be harder for them to rebound after losing those big defensive players that they lost.
