Drago's Podcast Adventure

00:00:00
Speaker
You know, sometimes, when I kick back, after a long, hard day of killing, I like to talk about it, but I've got no one to listen to. So recently, I started my own podcast, Drago Dribbles. Even though I know nothing about podcasting, I've found the best browser software to help.
00:00:26
Speaker
It makes it easy for me to record studio quality sound and up to 4K video with your guests, which I'm going to be trying out because I am shockingly beautiful.

Zencastr's Audio Magic

00:00:40
Speaker
I feel a sense of Zen, knowing Zencaster's multi-layered backups ensure I always have the recordings in the highest quality, even if the connection is unstable. Robin has the worst connection, he is lagging all the time just like he does when he takes a shot with his bow.
00:01:00
Speaker
Have you ever worried about what you sound like? Well, Zencast's post-production processes make me sound very smooth, even with my deep, sexy voice. It automatically removes those ums and ahs in recordings, and it also removes awkward pauses.

Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop, Bellum Draconis. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set on the magical home-brewed world of Eryth in the Kingdom of Drolak. Joining you for this week's episode, we have...
00:03:04
Speaker
Will he place the dragonborn druid Baal Valkon? We've got Ian who plays the Tiefling Wasser and Nyx Karel. Callum who plays the Warforged Artificer Alpha. Darren who plays the High Elf Artificer Rainshadow.
00:03:25
Speaker
I'm trying to save Alfred's life, but then I got high. Now I'm not going for the dead. And I know why. Why, man? Could I get high? Could I get high? Could I get high?
00:03:40
Speaker
Nah, nah, nah. He does not have that written down. That was purely off the cover. It was. I actually didn't get high. I basically did the equivalent of buying non-alcoholic beer. You did. You heard it well. We also have a world who plays the human cleric, Emron. There's a time and place for everything and it's called college.
00:03:57
Speaker
My name is Mark and I'm playing the human blade singer Seth Farareva and last but by no means least is our Maestro of Magic, our Commander of Combat, our DMD of DND. Daddy! Darren, have some inspiration for that, that was cute. Thank you! It's tickled me, so it's tickled me.
00:04:17
Speaker
The sun is high over old Gareth's shop as he sweeps a small moat of dust out of the door and hoofs it into the air. He looks fondly at us with a wink in his eye and a glisten in his eye. A wink and a glisten. Yeah, he's a bit... One in each. He's on a stroke, you know. He takes us in and... Yeah, it begins.
00:04:47
Speaker
Oh! Drugs!
00:04:53
Speaker
Alpha's got two curses and fuck both of them gonna kill him. Turns out it's gonna cost 3,000 gold pieces to kill just one of them. Shit. Anyway, they end up buying lots of drugs because that's fucking good idea, isn't it? Nick sees it off, Alpha sees it off, Baal sees it off, and they all get pretty fucked up. Reigns is nice and clever. He purifies his drugs because he's a pussy.
00:05:20
Speaker
Anyway, they get more drugs, because that ain't enough. Nick sees it off, and he goes full on face first into the floor and starts pretty much dribbling. And then Seth, as he makes his way over to the bar again, gets a cheeky note as a little, maybe a little bum tap, gets a note in his pocket and decides to go off to the toilets to do something about it. Finds out that he's got a note that says something like, a nest can be found in snake run. Fuck knows what that means. Emron Alpha and Seth are deciding to carry Nick's and hope.
00:05:49
Speaker
To bed and ball, taking him up the stairs and all. Emmeron decides that he's gonna seek out some divine refuge. And the barkeep leads the way, leaving a giant basilisk to guard for him. You're welcome. Then, when Emmeron gets to that divine refuge, he finds out that some orange-skinned half-orc with tattoos has been there recently praying to the same god.
00:06:12
Speaker
Mmm, who could that be? Emron casts ceremony and says a prayer or two, and he also finds out in the light of the room that there's a couple of prayers there. The last one he reads says, Emron, hurry. Em, oh, titties. So we find ourselves in the divine refuge. As you're taking in that room, Emron,
00:06:41
Speaker
The keeper of the refuge opens the door, and you feel your thoughts are being read. And he announces, I sense you are troubled. I feel like I've got a lot in front of me. I've got lots of things without answers and I was just
00:07:12
Speaker
looking for guidance on what to do. I thought I knew, I thought I had a path and now that path is just all over the place. I am not of one single faith but I offer you counsel should you wish to have guidance. Another, perhaps someone who understands
00:07:42
Speaker
The divine is probably helpful in this. The others I've spoken to don't quite understand things the way I do. It is those others that are the source of your conflict. Yes and no. I will not delve deeper. Share what you would wish. I can still feel him in my memory. No longer. He was just experiencing surface thoughts but made an effort of letting you know he was doing that.
00:08:15
Speaker
I feel like Alidos trying to talk to me through a dream. A dream where I find myself reaching towards this light, surrounded by darkness. I feel it pulling me down as well, but I reach the platform and there's chains, and this platform is above Earth, and a tower, and I feel Alidos calling for me to climb.
00:08:44
Speaker
But there's others with me. But I can't work out who they are. They're different. They're an elf and a dwarf. And I can feel a leader calling me to climb. And I'm trying.
00:09:08
Speaker
with everything that's come with, with, with tilwar and all that connection that's been coming. I just don't understand what my path is. I thought I had a simple life in front of me and now it's very complicated. Complication often comes as you grow.
00:09:34
Speaker
as your experiences become more significant. Perhaps Alito has great things planned for you. This dream, have you only dreamt it once? Twice now. First time I was reaching for the platform. Second time I reached the platform. So you are progressing in Alito's eyes.
00:10:03
Speaker
I hope so. I get a sense that I feel like it's the right thing to do and that it's right. And these figures that are accompanying you in this dream, for reference, well, it was... An elf, a dwarf and a dragon. No, a dragonborn, a human and a dwarf. Thank you. These figures you do not know yet. Perhaps you will in time.
00:10:37
Speaker
Maybe. And then there's this, this orc that was here. How long ago was that? Three, four, five days. Do you know if she's still here? I have not seen her. She has not returned to worship. She did, however, visit every one of these rooms. Do you mind if I look in them? I know it's not my fifth.
00:11:07
Speaker
I do not mind, Alito might. To step into these rooms is to declare you are one of the, this worship. That might get tricky. One of our group, one of our travellers or several of our people appears to be cursed. That's unfortunate. Do you know of any one or any place where we can go to help try and get them
00:11:37
Speaker
You are short of options here in St Michael. I know. There is one who frequents the tea house. She's already tried to offer her services for about ten thousand gold, so yeah. She understands the value of her work and she puts quite a premium on it. She does. You can try your luck with traders but
00:12:05
Speaker
None possessed anywhere near the power I've seen, her conjure. What about Scorchell? Is everyone there? Yes, you'll have more options there. It's one of the largest cities in areas. How long will it take us to get there if we add transportation? Or carts? I have not travelled for some time and I understand the roads belong to someone new.
00:12:36
Speaker
some who travel here say it's taken them a week some less okay thank you for your help i am here always should you acquire any more counsel you are troubled that much is clear i am i don't know whether
00:13:03
Speaker
I'm on the right path. Do you know if any of the Eprisca come here to worship? Yes, regularly. Are you familiar with a... a Captain... Gell-naffs? You'll mark I've never asked your name. I do not ask names of any. I'm seeking other followers of Aledo who might... work for the Eprisca. Many do.
00:13:31
Speaker
There's a... an elven captain, or an elven, worried about your Chris, have you seen him here? Or someone like him? There are many elves. There are many. Okay. I'm not here to trade information on... No, and I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put you at a place where you would have to. You've been helpful, thank you. Return anytime.
00:14:01
Speaker
I will... I'll try to. I regret that this dwarf is all we have here in Snakerun. Yeah. She's making things quite difficult. What faith does she follow? Often, well, nearly daily. You'll find her in there. And he points to her adore for Tiriani. Thank you.
00:14:31
Speaker
Go. Stay. Hi, there is... This place is for you too. Is there a donation place that people give donations to? Not in Dralak. The coin is not something people willingly part with here. Would it be helpful to you to have some? Yes. I would accept the charity if you would be willing to give it, of course. I am.
00:15:00
Speaker
And I pull out a pouch and weigh out about 100 gold coins and I give them to me. This is beyond generous. May Alito guide you always. I don't do it for, no, I'm not giving the money just for fear though. Doing it because it's the right thing. He just smiles.
00:15:32
Speaker
And I'll leave. With inspiration. Thanks. So as you head back to the tea house, what's interesting is a lot of people in the spaces between buildings isn't the right word, but areas, caves, caverns. You'll note
00:15:58
Speaker
how many of them are just watching this disk in the sky. And in fact, you get the idea that most of Snake Run is out looking and studying and trying to understand what this object is. As you pass, you hear rumor. Is this End Times? Is this the 13th Kingdom? Is this some sort of solar or lunar event? Is this
00:16:23
Speaker
Uh, visitors from the heavens is this Alido himself, is this Tyrioni's will, and every faith is interpreting this differently. What is clear is that people are concerned. And you get back into the space of least concern, back into the space of revelry. You find your two friends, well, it's up to you if you call them that, but you find Rains and Seth. How's it been?
00:16:54
Speaker
I've not heard anything. Very drugged. Okay. And they have not really moved except their tummies for breathing. I mean, I suppose we could always lock doors so we know they can't get out. That's a good point. Fuck. Didn't have to sit here on the... Sorry, Seth, to be... No, I didn't think of it either, so I don't... It's been a long day. Right, so we can still... But if we lock doors, so, you know...
00:17:23
Speaker
They're safe. They're safe. Should I stay in the room with Nixon? I hope. Totally up to you. I have no preference either way. You do what you want to do. Ok, I'll stay in this room just in case. If you two want to stay in. We've got a third room or? I'm going to take the third room. If that's alright with everybody.
00:17:50
Speaker
Well if I join, I don't really want to be in a room with a dragonborn with very heavy feet. No, I suppose that's fair. Or that really, really powerful cleric. Yeah, I suppose that's fair. It's fine. I don't take up much room, but I don't just know. Yeah, yeah. Well, I don't even sleep, so there's no danger with that. Well, when you've finished doing your transfer reigns, did you come and check on... everyone? Alright, that's fine. Then we'll...
00:18:19
Speaker
go into the room with Nyx and Hope, give Raines the key so we can actually unlock the door. So they open inwards or outwards? You can unlock them from the inside. No, the doors, which way this way? Oh, they open into the room. Into the room, okay. And one will grab some of the blankets out and put them in front of the doorway so he's gonna actually sleep across the doorway. Okay. So that nobody can yell.
00:18:44
Speaker
So how would, how would Raines get in? Well he's going to open the door and then probably wake me up and then I'll probably move. Okay. But I'm just, you know. Okay. Okay. We're trying to make sure that nobody wakes up and tries to get out. So you're down for the night, which leaves, uh,
00:18:59
Speaker
Seth in a room by himself, Reigns starting in that room as well until you don't need to sleep anymore. So we get halfway through the night then if everyone is bedded down until Reigns, you are in a position where you are able to wake and resume their duties. And halfway through the night, you're still under the effects of the paralysis. You two are in dire need of sleep or your equivalent alpha after a night of ingestion of whatever you did.
00:19:26
Speaker
BS rains halfway through that night and you'll note that when the doors are shut they're almost soundproofed and the the bars continue long into the night so if at any point you do open the door to step out into the corridor you fill that room with sound. Yeah, rain when he first wakes would glance over at Seth who I assume is sleeping.
00:19:50
Speaker
Rains would do what he hasn't had the chance to do for a while. He's going to do just some of his bass. Artifice are tinkering. He's going to get out of the Rubik's cubes and he's just going to let them start to run through the archonic sigils in their entirety. In particular, yeah, he actually had that to there. And what he does is flicks off one Rubik's cleave and the image appears on the other of the door. That's pretty fascinating conjuration magic.
00:20:14
Speaker
And he's just going to let that happen for a bit. He's going to take that in, but as he does that, he's going to fill in his pocket for the first time, the signet ring of the line of House Haddow. He's not looked at this for a while. And he's just going to run it through his fingers, remembering that he has other responsibilities than being on the other side of the world, ultimately at play in his life. Um,
00:20:42
Speaker
Once he's done that for long enough and wants to, the existential dread of whatever those duties might be, has started to get to the point that they're playing on him, he will eventually get up and he's going to go and wake Emrom, as that was what they discussed doing. Check on the room. Sorry. Yeah. So he's going to open the door and probably wake Emrom because Emrom's behind the door. Excellent. And I'm like, good. You're awake. You can stay in here now.
00:21:14
Speaker
Oh great. That'll be fun. I was gonna leave a go into the room with Seth and get full of it down that way. Okay, nice. And then is that you set till morning? Your turn to cut for the kids. Yeah, Reigns will sit there in that room and go, I could go sit in the quiet booth in the bar and not have to deal with whatever's gonna happen in here when these two wake up.
00:21:43
Speaker
If something happens, I'll never forgive me. Alright, fine. Let's watch the two drunken idiots. And for six hours, you watch. Well, four hours and then you need to rest again, is it?
00:21:58
Speaker
No, I've done my fourth. So it's four hours trance and I can do four hours of like duty. So I can come through until my trance was done. Okay. So for four hours, you are in the room and you are listening to snores. You're listening to various murmured conversations from Nick's and from hope. And eventually you begin to hear stirrings of the town around you and
00:22:27
Speaker
Dawn sets. Dawn. Right. Breaks. Breaks. Thank you. You've all completed a long rest. Do I? You feel amazing. When you start to wake, you feel incredible. You are upright and you feel like not only have you slept amazingly, but you've also had like two espressos. Like you are beaming. You jolt up and you, uh,
00:22:57
Speaker
have not necessarily a newfound sense of purpose, but that energy you have felt, you haven't felt like this since we've been on the open seas. You're like, you are, you are in your good place. You're in your good place. To the value of the next three roles you make are all advantage.
00:23:15
Speaker
Whoa! What do you want our dicks to count as? Possibly. Whoa! Before sort of this, everyone starts to stare, the first sounds of Dawn, hope is up, and she marks that she is in her room with two men she doesn't really know very well and just sort of goes,
00:23:35
Speaker
All right, thanks for the room. And just sort of moves you out the way and heads towards the door. You aren't quite awake yet. You aren't quite awake yet, but this is probably, this conversation would be enough to stir you. Okay. Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You're gonna help us or we're gonna discuss the terms of you helping us. I am, but you're not holding me prisoner in a room. I am leaving and getting some air. That's fair enough. We can do this over breakfast, right? Yeah, you're gonna move.
00:24:05
Speaker
If you're not gonna like run off then then fine I'm not in any way a prisoner you are going to move or I'll make you move All right, I'm not looking to pick a fight with someone who can save Alfred's life there you go Thank you And she be lines out And you don't say but it's enough to wake you that that
00:24:31
Speaker
Oh, Jesus Christ, next. Oh, wow. Wow. Wow. He looks at you just like it's Christmas day, wide eyes and energy is just cursed into him and his hands are just shaking.
00:24:48
Speaker
Oh, I've got to go! And he just runs. Good. Good. I'm glad I stayed in the room. Will you hear the stairs go... Nice. Alpha and bow. Alpha, as you wake, you need to reduce your maximum hit points by one as the curse continues. But you two awake, you feel a bit groggy, but you've succeeded in a full night's sleep. Full recovery and all. So you're all coming to back in the tea house at this point. Party assembled.
00:25:16
Speaker
What do you want to do? Hope is not in that communal room. I want to go, look for hope.
00:25:23
Speaker
Nice. And I am doing it with a jolly, jolly walk. A jolly, jolly walk walk. Where the bloody hell has she gone? Are you leaving without the rest of us? You just, you are. I'm trying to find hope. No, no. Are you, are you just like, steamrolling out the front door? I'm trying to find hope. Are we all downstairs at this point? I don't know. I'm trying to find hope. I'm not, I'm not going to be there going, am I on? Rain. Rain's also doesn't want hope to go far. I've woken up and see Seth as they're waking up.
00:25:54
Speaker
I went to see the temple and the priest at the shrine did say that scorched arms a week away if we wanted to fuck off this hope idea and try and find go to a place where there's lots of help available. Is that in the room to say? Yeah. All right.
00:26:14
Speaker
Just a thought, if we think Alpha can survive long enough, we could always make a beeline for Scorch on where there's more chance of there being more help available, so it won't be as extortionately priced. We lose a week, he's going to get ripey. He will. I might be able to...
00:26:33
Speaker
use my magic spell and gauge how much he's been reduced in energy since when I did it two days ago and get an idea of a timeline perhaps, or at least an idea of how long it can last. But what if you get there and they cost the sign? That's the problem. We don't know how much it's gonna be. The priest at the shrine said that the reason Hope is charging what she is is because she is the only one about it with that power who can do it. You know, it's a seller's market in that sort of situation. Whereas at Scorchell, he made it
00:27:03
Speaker
he implied to me that there was far more opportunity for people who could help fix a curse like that and therefore it might be a better chance of it being cheaper. So it's the security of what we know and expense versus time and the unknown. It is. I don't know. No. Did you just hear Nick's woo?
00:27:30
Speaker
I did, and I can only assume that today is going to be a very long day. I think I can hear them running down the stairs. Shit, that means hope's up. Okay, let's go. And yes, that'll make a look at the door and they're all gone.
00:27:51
Speaker
What about Alpha and Baal? Don't know. He's going to go and knock on the door and try and open it. Did we lock their door? I can't remember. We did. I think we got a key here. All right, cool. I knocked the door. Hello? I locked you in, so... Did you say we were already downstairs? It's obvious you were awake in all of this time. You could have moved downstairs if you wanted to. Door's locked, but yeah.
00:28:17
Speaker
Bart's big spoon. Okay. Nice. I think that's how it would have ended. So, you are awoken by Seth knocking on the door. Hope's gone. I knew this would happen. We have no home. Drugs are bad. Gone, where? Gone. She's not in the room. I told you this would happen. Come on. Right. Thank you, Arthur.
00:28:45
Speaker
Thank you. My pleasure. How are your feet this morning, Bar? They seem to be fine, Claus. Yes? Not too heavy. Why would they... Oh, fuck.
00:28:58
Speaker
That wasn't a dream, was it? No, everyone's got to come over and just untie the little strap that was holding your jaw up as well. Oh, no. It would do well if we just forgot the whole thing. Well, Alfa doesn't forget much, but he might have forgotten it already, but don't worry. I don't think this is something I can forget. Don't worry. Rain, Seth and myself stayed entirely sober for the whole thing. Excellent. Seth, let's go. And, yeah.
00:29:25
Speaker
He'll jump up out of bed and kind of make his way sheepishly out the door. Nice. And as you all sort of move down, you move into the communal area of the tea house. It's pretty dead. There are a couple of people having breakfast and there is, as part of that breakfast and board, actual food, not more drugs. As part of that breakfast and board, there is a table and the tender who was there last night gestures as you walk past like that would be your space when you want it.
00:29:51
Speaker
You all emerge outside, it sounds like Nyx and Raines were there first. And what you find is, again, that's that dawning scene of Snakerun coming alive. There are people going back to trade, the markets are opening, those who work on farms and those who work on mines are then moving out. Again, in the sky, that object has not moved, it's still there.
00:30:14
Speaker
And you spy Hope, she hasn't sort of bolted and a runner. There is a cluster of three indentured servants near a post not too far from the entrance of the tap house. And you've come out on the other side of the tap house than you were before, because the shade has changed direction. And you can see now, as you're the other side of Snake Run, the Toll House, about a quarter of a mile out towards a much broader road.
00:30:44
Speaker
and there are people in a crisca cloak sort of toing and froing from the toll house into snake crown itself. There's a lot more activity in general in terms of those wearing orange straps or head, sorry, wrist wrappings or head wrappings, those have purple eyed orcs and a crisca that just activity is bigger because people are moving around a lot more. But yeah, you see hope with three indentured servants.
00:31:14
Speaker
What do you want to do? Run over to her. Hope, hope, hope, hope, hope. Oh my God. Oh, I was tripping. I had just the, I feel amazing. This though, and Nick's holds out his palm where he cut across with a dagger. What's it looking like? It's like scabbing. Like the wound has sealed, but it, it looks like that really gross scabbing. Like, you know, when he gets green and a pussy, it's lovely. It's like that. This.
00:31:41
Speaker
Doesn't look so good, but I really need to talk to you. Where's a good private place? I mean, you can have a conversation. I feel like I've got a lot to say about everything that just happened last night. And I feel like you're the only one that can understand it. And I could really do with just talking to someone who went on that trip.
00:32:01
Speaker
About drugs? They all know. I'm no expert. I've never done it with anyone and you were there. I just need to clarify a couple of things. Well, let me see to mine and I'll meet you back inside. How much gold to get you right now privately? I feel like me and you work on gold. We're savvy on that. Look, one moment. All right. I've just got to feed my guys.
00:32:25
Speaker
And she sort of hands out these rations to each of the indentured servants and just marks them, checks them, sort of lifts arms, checks for any wounds or anything, hands them water, looks at them in the eye, each says something endorphish.
00:32:50
Speaker
I'm gonna... Right now it's just Nick's at this point. As soon as I hear a... And brains arguably.
00:32:57
Speaker
As soon as I, because I want to get a bearing on this girl. So as soon as she mutters something that I do not understand, I'm going to cast Comprehend Languages. Okay. Hang on. I'm just making sure that I flippant had it at first level. Comprehend Languages. Yeah, cool. So as soon as, because he started to catch with these guys with the whole draconic speech that he's missing out on some things.
00:33:22
Speaker
and as this trip gets more dangerous he wants to be aware of such things so he found that spell in his book he wrote it down and he's just kind of thinking about it in his head right now going okay i think i can do this now and he just puts a hand deep in his pocket he pulls out from his component pouch just a little bit of salt he just kind of puts a little bit underneath the palm of his kind of scabby broken hand just
00:33:45
Speaker
and just spread some salt and as that salt kind of hits the ground kind of just hits his foot and this kind of purple energy just comes up and it centers around his ears and for the duration of the spell I can understand the literal meaning of any spoken language that you can hear.
00:33:59
Speaker
You also understand any written language that you see, but you must be touching the surface of it where the words are written. It takes about one minute to read one piece. The spell doesn't decode secret messages in a text or glyph, such as an arcade and sigil, and it isn't part of a written language. And for your good self, it's a sorceress spell. Great. You're already 20 for me. Oh, fuck. It's a sentence.
00:34:26
Speaker
I know, I had to double check. That looked exactly like a one for the house. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I had to compare it to the one. Okay. So you do, you miss the first like half sentence because you're like, oh, let's make something, I don't know. It takes some time just to do that. But what you catch is her saying the following, find those posters, pull them down. If you want to eat again tonight, I need my name nowhere in this town. All right? No, fuck off.
00:34:58
Speaker
This happens for an hour, so if anyone else is speaking another language, it's like I'm now here. Not that I'm actively, I only wanted in that conversation just to let you know. You're basically hearing everything in common then from that point onwards, that nothing eludes you. It just turns back to you and says, right, five gold, you've got my attention. Okay, but privately, yeah? Yeah, if you pay me. Savvy, five gold, here you go. Where can we go? Here. Is this private? For now, they- I feel like you just fleeced me a little.
00:35:28
Speaker
They won't speak unless I let them, pointing at her company. Right, but everyone else can hear what I'm saying. Then whisper. Wow, I feel like this is going to be really hard, but you still have the information, so fine. We went on a trip last night. This could whisper. Yeah, I'm not very good at the whispering, so just take the five gold. I will.
00:36:00
Speaker
Does that always happen? Just what? I took Keltrad straight into my blood. Right. Followed your exemplary example. Right. I don't remember this, but okay. I got transport... Okay. I, regardless, was transported into a very real place. It's good for you. Yes.
00:36:26
Speaker
Does that happen to you? Or is it? It's a very personal question. Listen. My trip is my trips, I'm showing. It is. But is it dependent on the person? Or does everyone have to go on that sort of trip where it's deep and emotional, pertinent to them? Or does some people just float around? Or does it always involve like core memories that are hidden deep, deep down?
00:36:54
Speaker
Who knows? Depends on the grade of Keltrad that you're taking, I suppose. Persephone check. Go for it. You mean insight? Insight check. I like a Persephone check, though. Make it at advantage, members. He does indeed find an aura in the Persephone deck. Looking for a crybaby. Sixteen.
00:37:16
Speaker
That was an advantage. Yeah, you get the very art that she is purposely not really telling you loads about it more because she is trying to remain private herself, not because she's trying to withhold what the drugs do. Like, she doesn't necessarily want to share that you're pretty much a stranger that she did drugs with us, that's it.
00:37:35
Speaker
fine fine it's just like i don't think often about the certain things that i saw because it's very emotional very raw and very personal and i was put into a place last night after following your words and it's i mean like now i'm questioning a lot of things yes i feel amazing i've just woken up and i feel like a new tiefling in some ways i'm skipping down the stairs but it's also it's not without its
00:37:58
Speaker
in the back of my mind like you know when you've just had a really good cry and you feel a bit roar afterwards and every now and then you you kind of catch your breath and you kind of catch yourself and you're almost like you're tripping into the emotional pool again and you're trying not to you're trying to withhold it back you're trying to act strong so it's like really hit me and I didn't know if that was a normal thing or like if it lessens if you take more or like you know
00:38:26
Speaker
You don't know. But still, it was very emotional. And like, it took me to a place where it showed me how fucking needed sometimes it is to have people in your life that
00:38:42
Speaker
You know, look after you and take care of you because sometimes you can't take care of yourself and sometimes you need other people to kind of do it without even asking. And that's a big thing. You know, when you do something for someone, they don't even ask for it, but you make someone feel safe for it. So like, I'm just saying, maybe you know what I'm talking about. I don't know if the drugs take you on a similar thing when
00:39:02
Speaker
You're being you're in need of someone and someone does something without asking and they don't ask and they just do it because it's the good and the right thing to do. So if you know at all what I'm talking about, I'd really like to get your services to help my friend. Now, I can't afford the 3000, but I.
00:39:23
Speaker
I could do 2000, or if you're willing to, I could do 2500, but I'd love to know what the second curse is on him as well. But fix the first one, the one that's happened recently, the one that's making him a bit princess, princess. So that was a long way of saying
00:39:44
Speaker
You want me to do the work we agreed to 3000 last night, but you're offering 500 gold less. Yes. But also with the knowledge of, uh, like the second curse as well, because he's quite important to us. And without him, I feel like we're trying to do a lot of good in this world and he's quite integral to it. But more so than anything, sometimes you just got to do a good thing without asking for anything in return, but I need some help.
00:40:15
Speaker
Make a persuasion check. Straight because it would be a disadvantage. 16. Let's find your friends. I don't know what that means. So vague. How much of that has range heard?
00:40:35
Speaker
You caught the last minute or two of that. That's the bit. Reigns has just stopped, was going to come over, has heard this outpour from Nix and has just heard this very emotional, raw, compassionate and selfless plea.
00:40:51
Speaker
and has seen Nick's in a new light for perhaps the very first time. And it's then just... I'm going to make his presence known. Just come and find you both. I'm going to do something about breakfast if anyone would like something. Let's go, Vanilla. Come on. Let's do a silver breakfast. I'm hungry. All right? Nick gives Hope some eyes and she hears it in her head. Please don't tell them, I'll just... Get the fuck out of my head. OK. As you hear that in your head as well. OK.
00:41:21
Speaker
So we all amass then around this long table. The tea house looks like a completely different view. That foggy haze is still there and it's like trying to have breakfast while still inhaling weed at the same time passively.
00:41:40
Speaker
to many that's probably a pretty tasty accompaniment. But you are there, you are all there and Hope just sits and she starts digging into this sort of meat desert hunt that has been prepared. And she just looks expectantly at you all and says, so you are cursed. So is he, and so is he. You only want me to deal with
00:42:07
Speaker
That one pointing at alpha. That's correct, yeah. 3000 gold. Yeah, about that. I don't have any, I have four gold pieces I can put towards the fixing of alpha. 2,996 gold to go then.
00:42:36
Speaker
Okay, I have a question. You're going to cure the one that's most present, right, for 3000? I'll go in there and have a look for sure. I don't know at this stage which one's most present. I just know there's two.
00:42:51
Speaker
One that seems to make him deteriorate day by day. That's the one we're looking for. So when you are in there, the other one can fuck off for a bit. We're looking for that one. The one that it's making him worse day by day. He looks, no offence, Alpha. Like shit more and more the further we go. You said necrotic, was it, Alpha?
00:43:12
Speaker
That much we have been able to determine, yeah. That's what the magic spell we've done indicates. That's the one we're looking for, and so that's going to get out its four gold pieces and plonk them on the table. And you say it's getting worse every day, Alfred. It does feel like that. Look at him, he looks worse every day. Well... That may be other things taken. Well, Alfred, as much of that, like, uh, your candour hope,
00:43:42
Speaker
I get the impression, Alfred, that how do I say this, that you are integral to something? And his eyes will just glare over to Nick's at that. Nick's looking away. And I think sometimes sometimes when we perhaps say things to certain people with
00:44:04
Speaker
you can only hope that someone is listening and takes on board and see someone for who perhaps they potentially really are and Wayne's will just NC thousand gold and NC will just go in and just this bag there's one further bit one thousand one thousand and four gold if it's so far between four of us it's only seven fifty each range but all right well there's one thousand on the table so someone gets a bit more gold back either way can we do something to save our child's life or match our life or your child that we all want to go
00:44:35
Speaker
It is my curse and one brought about by my own doing. I will put up the remainder. 1,996 gold. Yep. Yeah, I will count out 1,996 gold. Right.
00:45:00
Speaker
Well, thank you. And you watch as she sort of scoops it all together into a tiny pouch. Sees you, Nyx. Nyx gets up, walks away. Rolls her eyes. Fine. Have some back. Puts a hundred back on the table. Only because I like his.
00:45:28
Speaker
We could do this here or, you know, you can make yourself comfortable elsewhere. You just have to sit there. Is it painful? Is he gonna scream or shout princess or anything? Maybe. Is that your safe word? I don't know. Would you like me to stop if you say... Do I stop if we hear princess? No, I think so. Stop when the curse is gone. And he's still alive, obviously. I'm perfectly fine to do it here if you are.
00:45:58
Speaker
No, you are. Well, just, um, I think probably you're maybe set next to Baal because you came out of the room together. Just, uh, prop him up if he looks like he's about to fall back, will you? And she just begins to roll up her sleeves. And you just sort of see, uh, small tattoos across the wrist that all, um, resemble, uh, one of Tyrianne and Faith.
00:46:23
Speaker
places hands on the table closes her eyes and you notice there's all the the light in the room slightly dims temporarily and she just starts speaking in this very old dwarvish tongue for someone who's got to comprehend language is active and for someone who understands dwarvish you just hear her repeating the phrases
00:46:46
Speaker
Tiriani helped me find the light for this soul. Tiriani helped me find the light for this soul. She makes that incantation for about 15-16 repetitions. And then this glow between her hands begins to manipulate. The same glow appears around Alpha. And she says, I found two.
00:47:13
Speaker
I can get rid of the one that's gonna cause him imminent death. But there is another that is also going to lead to his death one day. We have to deal with the immediate problem. We can't afford to pay you to deal with the bigger problem. He's your boy. And in a second you are...
00:47:39
Speaker
enveloped in a very warm sensation you feel lighter you feel the talisman the necklace around your neck loosen and jangle once again your the plate where it once was was welded to remain sort of
00:48:03
Speaker
branded with the shape of what was once stuck there and your core is somewhat vulnerable like a scab. You breathe again and you feel the full extent of your breath alpha. You stretch again and you feel the full strength of your body. You are cured.
00:48:26
Speaker
It's at the end. We win. We win D&D. No. Well, someone tell me how this happens. I'm dying to know. How is it that you've got a devil's curse on you? Well, that's about 500 gold pieces worth of knowledge, isn't it, gentlemen? Yeah, yeah. You got to pay us now. How?
00:48:51
Speaker
I'm not that interested. In Draconic he'll say, did he say devil's curse also? I heard his devil's curse. Fuck. I did say devil's curse. She'll say in common back. Oh. You be mixing yourself with some strange folk. Mixes in there. He got a walk away. Like a spool, bruh. Is there anything you can tell us about this other curse? For 3000 gold? I tell you all you need to know.
00:49:23
Speaker
It's a nasty one. I never seen anything like it. Do you know how long it's been there? As far as I can tell, thousands upon thousands of years. And I don't know how that's possible. No. Rain's an awful shoot up at that. So, um, okay.
00:49:45
Speaker
Your eyes have shut up over that. Yeah, I suppose they have. And Raines is going to get up and he's going to try and find Nick's. From? I helped you boy and you are leaving. Who? Cleric of Tiriani. Ported information. From the follower of Aledo, I thank you for your services now.
00:50:11
Speaker
You know how you said you liked us, and especially me. Is there anything else you can tell us about this second curse for free? Or maybe for a high five? That doesn't appeal to me at all. No, no, me neither. I'm inclined to remove the memories from your mind and give you less information, to be honest. What about a promise? What does that cause?
00:50:37
Speaker
What do you mean a promise? I promise to be good. No, I mean, if we offer to help you with any problems that you have. I don't have any problems I need help with. Okay. It was just a thought. But thanks. Look, you're all very lovely. It's been wonderful to watch you get fucked up. It has. I have had some mild entertainment from it.
00:51:05
Speaker
But let's continue to keep this transactional, okay? You need something, you come find hope. I hope I will give you. Do you have any thoughts about that, wherever it is in the sky? Aye, I do. Because I've heard a lot wandering around. Some people say it's the 13th Kingdom. Aye. Now here's some talk I can invest in.
00:51:35
Speaker
I think it is too. I think it's one of many. I've heard lots of prophecies. I've heard lots of theories. And there's like four I think are probably fair. One of which is this idea of the 13th Kingdom. This is some sort of symbol of unity. What a lovely idea. I'm behind that. But there are others. There are others. Some people think it's like a comics coming to destroy Aerith. I'm also behind that.
00:52:05
Speaker
Okay. Others say it's the gods, Tiriani or Aledo. Or all of them... Who knows? And there's one more theory I'll charge you for. Thousand gold, here are my thoughts. Okay, I've said thank you for your services, but I think we're done. She looks around at the rest of the table. Oh, I'm skinned as bulls.
00:52:35
Speaker
Can't offer a penny. I think Alfred's just going to pick up the hundred gold that got shown back by Hope. He's just going to take the amulet off. That was being fused to his chest and chug it on the table. How are you feeling, Alfred? Very much like a weight has been lifted. So does that mean you feel better or worse? Better. That's good. So you're fixed.
00:53:06
Speaker
Perhaps only time will tell, but for now, I would seem so. Excellent. We need to get your gun fixed, too. Yes. Perhaps I would do one of the forges in the city would be appropriate. Just so then you're not so fucking useless. It's just happening at the table, sorry. Yeah, yeah. I think going somewhere to get ourselves equipped really for a journey to school job is a good idea.
00:53:34
Speaker
Eh, you got any useful free tidbits about getting a Scorch Helm hype? Well, we've maxed out all our, all our hype tokens. I'm not without conversation. Yes, we can gossip. The road. Good idea. Travelling by that. I mean, they have a Kriska runner, so as long as they're cool with use. Seth.
00:54:04
Speaker
I don't think they are. It's going to be tricky one, isn't it? Yeah, it's going to be a tricky one. I see in your poster. What did you do? What did you do? I'm not telling you mine. Oh, I like it. I like it. I've not liked it that much though. All right. Well, it's some, some secrets better kept his secret.
00:54:33
Speaker
You need to find a way to travel that road. I would not recommend going to the wilds down there. There are a lot of strange folk. So, you know, watch out for them up, Christopher. They'll get you. Yeah, very real. Well, make sure the heads up. Well, we fixed him, lads. It's all right. Let's go and get some stuff. And as they... Well, I was going to get it to leave.
00:54:59
Speaker
There's a question to Danny. Prago, what did Prago look like when I saw him? He was Woodelf. And as I get up, everyone will say to Hope, the being that we encountered looked like a Woodelf going by the name of Prago. Had a loot.
00:55:28
Speaker
I see lots of... Lots of people have loots, lots of wood elves in these parts. But he's seen more than that. Anything else distinguishable? He was powerful. I knew all that. Arms. Two of them. Can I recall anything distinct about him? Make history check. Okay, I will. Fourteen.
00:56:01
Speaker
He was able to conjure two mage hands at once. He was able to duplicate spells. He had a rapier with a skull at the hilt. He was incredibly clean. He was without blemish or scar.
00:56:24
Speaker
He moved with a dancer's grace. It's about all you can recall on a 14. So he had a rapier with a skull, and he was able to conjure spells and twin spells in a way that certainly I've not seen apart from the most powerful sorcerers and the like. He rings no bells. No, but if you say it was a devil's curse, they can look like anything, can't they?
00:56:56
Speaker
Nothing for me, I'm afraid. It doesn't ring a bell. No, I thought I'd offer it to you, you know. I'll keep an eye out for a prego, though. And if I see you again, I'll let you know. Cheers. Oh, just finally. Do you know where a nest could be found? A what? Nest? A what? You know. No, never mind.
00:57:25
Speaker
Right. Well, I'm just going to eat. So, you know, you're welcome to join me or you can back off. Cheers. Right. I'm going to get up and go. Yep. I think we better go find Nixon lines because we lost them and we've got to tell him stuff because they left for some pretty important information plot stuff. Yeah. Seth super quick.
00:57:51
Speaker
kind of bowel motions with his head to somewhere else. Your head, okay, it's doing the wobbly thing. Everyone's like, I can hang around if you want, let's talk. No, it's just something that I needed to mention just so quickly. All right, well, I'll cut you up. Okay. Like a big toothpicker in on Baal's face towards you overall.
00:58:14
Speaker
And if Byron and Seth are alone and obviously keeping his voice down to purposely not be overheard or seen or anything like that, he'll just say, you heard that, didn't you? Yeah. Deared with the devil. Well, shit. Definitely didn't read the fine print on that one. No. No. And hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it? We fucked up royally. Still might have done it anyway, though.
00:58:43
Speaker
thought we're gonna get the goals aligned i don't understand i don't get it it's never anything positive is it devils well aren't d flings a bit devilish so i've heard no not like um or maybe it was horny both really well that definitely throws a big devil-sized spanner into the
00:59:12
Speaker
works yes we've both taken a big red one I'd say yeah fuck I don't know what to do well we're kind of stuck with it though hmm time will tell but there were promises made yep we did sign a contract I guess of some some kind anyway food for thought I'll get a battalion that's pretty neat that is actually pretty neat he didn't off me that
00:59:42
Speaker
Well, I would say we'll try and break out of it, but I don't think that would work. Something tells me that it'll go fucking awfully against us. Yeah. Everything has so far. But at least we've got Alpha Fix, that's one less thing to worry about.
01:00:00
Speaker
He's not going to die straight away, so... Well, no, yeah, exactly. He'll die eventually of some sort of other really fucked-up curse, but hopefully that will be... Do you think that curse is like... life? It's depressing. Because technically... There's an existential... We all have that curse. Maybe I've been in this room too long and he's looking up at the smoke that's above him. Yes, don't try the tea. No, I watched what I did see a lot.
01:00:33
Speaker
What? We better go find the others and see what got into Nick's knickers. Nick's knickers. Nick's knickers. After me and I'll eat. And yes, I thought we'd just go on in motion and try and follow wherever everyone else has gone. So, Reigns would be the first one to catch up with Nick, but you'd just be lining for outside and outside or were you going somewhere with particular purpose?
01:01:01
Speaker
Uh, so Nick's would be lying for outside just to kind of almost gulp some fresh air for the first time in however many hours. Uh, and he's just, just full of that prickly anger that something not going his way. And he feels quite raw about it cause he was quite open and honest and emotional and he feels like, well, there was no point in that. Um, so he's just feeling a bit.
01:01:26
Speaker
angry and also still on the rebound from the whole being so open. So he's feeling a bit raw at the same time, feeling a bit young and naive. Anyway, as soon as he gets outside and he gulps a fresh breath of air.
01:01:50
Speaker
He's trying to just calm his adrenaline spike to stop him from doing anything rash and he's trying to calm his heart rate. And once he starts getting a kind of a good head on his shoulders, he wants to find the marketplace. I don't know how
01:02:11
Speaker
far anyone is behind me, but Nick wouldn't know that anyone would follow him. So once he regained his composure, he would go and find the marketplace that's been discussed around this area. So the way the door works for the Serpent Sip is that it's always in the center of the shade, right? So it moves like a clock. The way that the bluff protects
01:02:38
Speaker
or offer shade to those who come and visit Snake Run is that the market sort of pops up in that shady area and then everyone sort of moves around as the day moves. As you emerge out of that, you're immediately looking at a sprawling marketplace. It's not so sprawling. It's like a combination of tents of people who are temporarily sheltering with a handful of market stalls. The more permanent ones are in the bluffs themselves that are
01:03:06
Speaker
shops that have been mentioned already, but the pop-up more ad hoc stuff has just appeared around you. Yeah, you're in the heart of that. What we got in those sort of areas, like what am I seeing? Are we seeing armorers? Are we seeing potion makers? It's more traders, right? So if you can think about what a peddler can pack in a
01:03:27
Speaker
in a light traveling capacity or on camelback or horseback, et cetera. So everyone who has an inventory, it's quite light. But yeah, there are people who do foodstuffs, trade goods. There are people who sell arms. There are people who sell equipment. There are people who sell weaponry. There are people who sell potions and scrolls and herbs. But it's not on a vast scale. But if you are now in the act of perusing. I am. You come across. I'm in shopping mode.
01:03:56
Speaker
I'm imagining all the shops on carts so they can keep up with the shade. It's constantly moving markets. That's clever. Okay, you come across seven unique shops of the following inventories you have.
01:04:14
Speaker
You have a herbal apothecary supplier. You have someone who's selling pottery. You've got someone, a desert outfitter. You have a scrolls and spells of stock magic trading. You have got a fortune teller and you have got a baker.
01:04:41
Speaker
Um, cool. Uh, Nick's would love to go into the, um, you said there's desert clothing type. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There's somebody selling sort of robes, sandals, headgear, et cetera. Is that a shot? That's not one of the main stage. That's within the marketplace. That's it. Like the temporary temporary. Okay. Well, Nick's is going to swing over there. Um, and, and to the person, it's more just like it's laid out on a, on a,
01:05:10
Speaker
rug for like a think.
01:05:13
Speaker
I think car boot sale, if you've ever gone to one of those, right? Like it's sort of like you go up to and browse the wares. And yeah, there is equipment to traverse the desert a lot more sensibly. There are light clothing, there is stuff that will protect you from sands and winds. There is sandals not unlike the ones that you've looted from the Eprisca already. And there are sort of general provisions for like appropriate tents and camps that shelter from the heat rather than necessarily
01:05:43
Speaker
Changing weathers that you'd experience in the north, you're not really protecting yourself from rain here, you're protecting yourself from heat primarily. It's different types of materials. Cool. Right, Nick would just kind of look at the owner. Hi. You know where I could find some sort of dye to dye some material a different colour.
01:06:05
Speaker
The gnome who is the peddler of these wares sort of looks up and says, I'm afraid I don't sell that. You could try, I think there is a place here. In the market area. No, I haven't seen any people with libations and potions and lotions and dyes. But you could try a mystic mirage and points up towards the main bluff above the tea house. Most of the things you find in vials are finding there.
01:06:34
Speaker
Wonderful. Can I offer you any robes? Any sandals? Any sashes? I'm sorry. No, I've already had sandals and sashes, but it's very nice. Would you care to upgrade your camping equipment? Not right now, but I would let my friends know when they're into camping stuff and maybe they'll come around and buy some stuff, but I just need the information.
01:06:55
Speaker
Later, I will be here later. What's your name? My name is Goobla. Goobla. Goobla. Goobla. Goobla. Yes, yes. It's a fine name. Yes, it was given to me by my mother. Well, she...
01:07:11
Speaker
Clearly did a great job. Thank you very much. Most welcome, Tiefling. And then as Nick, is the potion one nearby to Gubla? Mystic, but yeah, you'd have to ascend up the ramp. Not the mystic magic. You said the one that's temporarily. Stop magic. Yeah, you'd find that within it. So Nick's would turn to go to the mystic.
01:07:35
Speaker
Mr. Mirage is a permanent shop here. As he turned around to head towards the Mystic Mirage, he'd spy the potions out of the corner of his eye and he'd just kind of stop and have a look at those and, hi.
01:07:49
Speaker
What about you? What are you selling? So, you haven't gone to Mr. Raj, you've gone to the herbalist who was... Yeah, as if it's in the same... As if I'm going to turn and I clock it. So, at this point, Rains, you were only minutes away from joining Nick, so Rains is approaching you. Yeah, that's cool. I don't mean to stagnate from the party.
01:08:11
Speaker
Uris, you will care to see my potions? A human this time, a female human, offers, I mean, it's quite a small collection. It's almost like, I'm thinking of a Red Dead character, a Red Dead Redemption, one character, or maybe he's in two as well. The potion seller, like the- The snake oil seller. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No.
01:08:39
Speaker
I can't think of it. I can't think of it. But essentially, yes. What's that? Is it West Dickens? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So essentially picture that the idea of this, this wagon that sort of opens up and there's just these little shelves with various files. And she points to this one will help you climb this one for your, for your healing needs. This one for your strengths as she gestures with strength. This one for love. And this one over there will help you see in the dark.
01:09:06
Speaker
I have water, I have various chemical components. No, I really was just kind of looking, but thank you. Is it in love? No. No, I think I've gone over that. Which to climb great heights? No, but I appreciate it. I hear what you're saying. So two for one today. Two for one.
01:09:28
Speaker
I really, really like that. But I've got some friends who are well interested in potions and stuff, so I'll let them know. What's your name? My name is Goobla. Sister of Goobla. They call me Aveline the Wanderer.
01:09:48
Speaker
What, Adeline? Av-av-eline. Av-eline, sorry, I've got something in my ears. I've just come off a massive trip of Keltrad, so I'm not even sure if I'm on the material plane. Thank you very much. I've got that.
01:10:02
Speaker
And then, at this point, you're gonna come over and be like, oh, and do you know where I might find like kitchen utensils? I lost a potato peeler yesterday that I would. Not necessarily here, but I think the halfling brothers, I can't see it here. I kind of remember them at the shop. Yes. No man's bounty traders. Yes. Or maybe Sandweave Emporium. They have quite a few obvious knickknacks. Both of those. Both of those sound great. Thank you.
01:10:30
Speaker
And the rest of the party, you are maybe a minute behind, if there wasn't much in this. I would like to just find some time with Max before. Yeah, you'll have that now. Uh, Reigns will just go, so, uh, alpha cured then, Nix.
01:10:41
Speaker
Yes, yes, very good. I'm very happy about that, obviously. I just feel like I'm on the come down from a pretty crazy night, but no, that is the main goal. Sure. Up a hundred gold backs, a result. So whatever happened there, that's a hundred gold back in our pocket. Yeah, yeah. I'm sure deep, deep, deep down inside, she's just a lovely person.
01:11:07
Speaker
And, well, you know, sometimes when people take it a while to show their true colors, Nix, and... You were right, Nix. Before the others get here, I want you to know that you were right what you said about Alpha, about him being important and wanting to do the right thing, and I... I... Maybe it weren't the person you intended that to, but...
01:11:53
Speaker
I'm doing some shopping right now. You're more than welcome to join me. I'm gonna try and find some cool stuff around here I think everyone spouted the idea of getting us supplied for the trip ahead Thought that was pretty good. So yeah there is just before the others join us that there's more to to alpha than meets the eye and I really I Have something to share with you when you're ready to hear it, that's all cool
01:11:59
Speaker
Thank you for what you said.
01:12:23
Speaker
Yeah, I'm just going to, uh, any points towards the, the mystic. Yeah. They're in the armour around here. At that moment where you're all thinking of parting that the group sort of ascends. So next you have that decision where do I consciously beeline and avoid the group again? Or do I just note?
01:12:41
Speaker
Oh, I'm going shopping. Hi, everyone. Sorry, I needed to get out of there. You know when you feel like you've been in a certain place for too long and you just needed, you were suffocating so you needed to get out, it was like that, so. I think we've got, so there's obviously a few shops that Raul have suggested to us. There's obviously the Dune Forge Armory that we were told would be a good place for weapons and armour. Maybe we go there first. There's the Sansweave Emporium. They had clothes and that lot for desert gear.
01:13:11
Speaker
There's the portion place. We need desert gear and I wasn't mind. Oh, if we need desert gear, I've got a perfect person right here. More shop round. Okay. May I interest you in desert maps? No, I'm good. Goobla the Great. That is me. See, Goobla, these are the people I was telling you about. I have all you need. You needn't go to any other place. Let's go.
01:13:38
Speaker
I'll give you great deals. Great deals. I have come all the way. Given there's a great deal, we should hear him out. I have come all the way. From Goldview. Have you heard of it? Yes. We've come from Shadowmend. I don't know what that is. Okay. Right. Cheers. But we do know where Goldview is. And I'm curious as to why someone from Goldview is so well versed in the desert. Hit me with the spiel.
01:14:06
Speaker
The spiel. Yeah, why'd you get you? Of the deserts? No, you said that you tell me why your gear is so good. Oh, it helps you in the deserts. Yeah, I got that bit. But everyone else's gear does that. You said like if you go exploring in the snowy mountains, you'd wear a coat, right? I have gear that would help you keep you cool in the heat. Okay, okay, fine. What type of gear do you have? Ropes.
01:14:34
Speaker
Best robes. Best robes. You see you got some camping equipment there as well. Yes, yes. If you wish to upgrade your camping equipment, I have the ability to do that. How much? How much of my camping equipment? Yeah. How many people are you hoping to camp with? Well, let's say that everyone here, present company, plus the tiefling and my friend who's just walked off. Seven?
01:15:02
Speaker
Everyone here? Yeah, yeah, six. Plus a T-face. Or a phase seven, just in case you never know who you might find. Just in case you want to bring a pal for a sleepover, of course. Yeah, you never know who you might find. Well, Desert's an inhospitable place, and you never know when you might be able to save or help someone. Absolutely. I could provision what I've got. Let's call it 22 gold. That's maybe called it...
01:15:31
Speaker
Raines is going to glance to Baal. Is this a good deal? Because Raines doesn't know he's being hustled here. Baal, you're not sure? No. Shakes his head. I can't even look at the equipment yet. Okay, so what are we getting for that 22 goal? Well, I'll give you these. Any points. They are wooden posts.
01:15:51
Speaker
And I'll give you these, any points. And it's a very fine, thin, woolen-like spun fabric that is opaque enough that it would resist heat and not absorb it. As compared to what you currently have, which isn't necessarily any covers, it's more like bedrolls and sleeping rolls. This will provide you light to shelter and some sort of heat deflection.
01:16:17
Speaker
Raines will study this. He will think of it as something that could be mounted to the back of a car so they could travel during the day. He's basically investigating this to see whether its value is worthy of its price tag. Okay. Make an investigation check for me then.
01:16:38
Speaker
Pretty good, 18. You feel like it might be a bit on the steep end, but you understand things are resourced differently here. Stuff has different price structures than you're used to. You say 22 gold? Yes. 15. Absolutely not. I can't afford the wood for 15 gold. Fair enough, I hear you. Too real. Fair enough, I hear you. 20, 24. 17 gold. The best I could do is 21 and a silver piece.
01:17:09
Speaker
Call it 20 and I'll shake your hand right now. Call it 21 and I'll hold the silver piece. Alright, done. Fabulous. Your wood and your wool will be with you as soon as I get back to my cart. If they're not, then my gold will be with you when I get my woolen wood. Fine, I shall go now, but I will have to close my store. Well, okay, I mean, you can arrive at tools.
01:17:39
Speaker
But at the end of the day, by what you know, we might be moving between like, oh yeah, if you want my gold, you're going to have to get me that. Right you are. Well, I shall return in a few minutes or so. Good. And he sort of begins to pack back and you see, he heads back towards the tall house. What next? I'll just pipe up and say, I have means to...
01:18:01
Speaker
To stop people from shuffling off this mortal coil, all I need is a certain, uh, number of diamonds, effectively. I don't have any money to my name, however, obviously, this is gonna be helpful for the group, so it's something that I suggest you keep an eye out for. If you can get me 300 gold pieces, roughly, worth of diamonds, then should any one of us snuff it, accidentally, which, and he's looking over at Nyx,
01:18:28
Speaker
Happens quite a bit, doesn't it, Nick? I mean, just at one time, really. Twice, maybe. Well, to be fair, me too, actually. But if it's one of you, and it'll look back at the rest of the group, then I can help you with that. But if you're willing to part with 300 gold worth, just maybe keep an eye on it. It's an expensive day. Right, so which one are we heading to first? The armory?
01:18:48
Speaker
I'm going to Mystic Mirage. Why did I put Maguire? I can't read my own writing that says Mystic Maguire. Let's all go to the same place together then to say we're doubling up on places. That's good.
01:19:03
Speaker
That would be the end of us going back to the same shop. I don't know. It'll just get boring for you. It's a potion one. Yeah, so you're going to Mystic Mirage, which... Once I've got the tent. Yeah, it takes about 15 minutes for him to sort of pack up, head back down to the Tollhouse, collect, and he comes back with his wagons of barter attachment, and you're essentially carrying around a much bigger commitment there. Bag of holding.
01:19:27
Speaker
Yeah, which you would manage, but everything is there and accounted for. You look at it and you're slightly underwhelmed. It is brown, sandy, dyed spun linen and wooden beams and some rope to tether it together.
01:19:44
Speaker
but you'll see what you need. And then, so next, you are heading to Mystic Mirage Potions. So you have to ascend, there's a first tier above the tea house to enter this room. This, it's not building. Cave is probably the best thing to explain this, but this shop, hewn inside a giant rock. This is a mystical apothecary that has on a sign on the door famous for concoctions designed for combat in harsh desert conditions.
01:20:14
Speaker
You step in and it is just almost like one giant supermarket shelf aisle on either side. Various potions of various sizes. There are big containers that seem to be sort of lively distilling liquids. Then there is small vials of things that you can collect. At the very end of this, there is just one quite large desk. Behind that desk is a dwarf, a male dwarf.
01:20:40
Speaker
very expectedly at you. There are a number of customers that are in, just sort of browsing and perusing, as well as this hawk that seems to be just flying around the very top of the room.

Mystic Barrage Potions Exploration

01:20:53
Speaker
And you hear this bellowing voice just say, come on in, come on in, welcome to Mystic Barrage Potions. I know you better, ma'am. You may know me better, should you wish. My name is Khalid Stormcaller.
01:21:08
Speaker
Please, join me. What is it you are in the market for? Hi. Yes, everyone. Healing potions. I have potions of healing. I have potions of greater healing. How much are they?
01:21:25
Speaker
Well, depends what you have. Would you care to browse my wares? And I could give you a full inventory list. Yeah, that'd be great. Give us a roof run down. Do that in my voice. So there are four potions of healing on the shell of the current. There is a potion of climbing. There is various oils. There is an oil labeled oil of slipperiness. There is a potion of hill giant strength, potions of water breathing, potions of resistance, potions of fire breath.
01:21:54
Speaker
There's a single potion of greater healing, a potion of clairvoyance and a potion of speed. All of various price labels upon them. Have you got any dyes, colours? Yes. Things to change? Absolutely. Okay, well, I've got a question and hopefully you know this area quite well. How long have you been here?
01:22:19
Speaker
I opened this shop about six years ago. It's better information than I do. There's a lot of like clans and groups walking around with like this kind of material.
01:22:34
Speaker
bracelet thing and they've all got like designated colors and I assume Different colors represent different clans and groups The orange you're talking about I assume yeah, I assumed I was under the impression. There's more than an orange no, so Lord Vossen one of the leaders of Jallak owns various companies or companies and
01:23:01
Speaker
by the license to be his personal force, to be the one-third of the armies of Dralak, if you will. Various mercenary groups bid for the tender to these. So what you'll find is that there are various mercenary groups that have these symbols, but they are all accountable. They are all in direct employ or indirect employ to Lord Vossen himself. And they're all wearing the orange.
01:23:30
Speaker
Yes, if you may encounter some mercenary groups not wearing, it just means that Vossen does not own their contract. Is there any colour that hasn't been taken?
01:23:39
Speaker
by a crew in this area. I understand what you're saying. So, yeah, the Chris Growl often wear purple. Vossen will designate his force of orange. Everything else is fair. Open. She'd green? He'd take some green. I have some green dye. Could I take some green dye, please? Yes. Enough for Nick does some quick, painful maths in his head. Six.
01:24:03
Speaker
six watch material these and nicks will take from his pocket the orange oh you'll do that in one vial easily yes uh five silver done and and and one more question now i see what you've got out in stock for you know anyone walking in that's very good but what happens if like
01:24:24
Speaker
You have any stock in the back, like your secret area. Some people I know of just have this like hidden cabinet where there's extra kind of potions or different things in there for those who are interested in trying new things. I keep all of my potions here out front, but I have a number of choice items. What do you have? It's not a vast collection. Well, it might work out well for you.
01:24:51
Speaker
And everyone else here will keep it quiet that you've got maybe some illegal things in the back. I'm not saying that you do. There is not enough laws in this country to have illegal things. That's wonderful. So what about the things that just don't sell regularly and you have to keep it to the back? What have you got? Well, they're more personal treasures that I'm not willing to part with cheap. Then that's a mute conversation. Have you got anything of that kind that you're not willing to part with?
01:25:20
Speaker
They have this, and he produces a tankard. This will never end. Observe. He tips it. Ale drops out. He keeps it tipped for about a minute. The ale continues to fall.
01:25:45
Speaker
I should probably stop soon. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think we get the idea. We get the idea. I call it the bottomless mug. It's a good name. No, I'd rather keep that. You're welcome to... You're welcome to... Adventurers, I take it? Yes, and often come close with death and ne'er do wells.
01:26:15
Speaker
I don't have much. I have one of these, and it produces a small acorn. Throw this, and a tree appears. Just randomly, just a tree, just poof. Yes. That's quite marvelous. How big? The biggest one I've seen, I've only got three of these, and I've thrown two of them, so this is my last one, and it was about 20 foot. Beautiful oak tree.
01:26:45
Speaker
How much are they separately and together? I have one left. Well, I mean, we have a bottomless tankard and an acorn, um, separately, just... Uh, uh, I'll... 60 gold for the acorn. Never know when you need a 24 tree. Uh, the tankard, well, you'll make a living off this, no doubt. 100 gold.
01:27:11
Speaker
I will take both of them if that's good with you, fine sir. And I will take the green vial as well, please. I tell you what, I'll throw you in the green vial for free. You have a deal. 160 gold and these items are yours. Sorry. Makes hands all over 160 gold. You bought a mighty acorn and a bottomless mug.
01:27:36
Speaker
It only takes 20 years to grow. How does it take? It'll probably grow in about 20 years. What a magic bee, Mark! Everyone will get the poster healings off the shelf and we'll take these four in the portion of Greater Eileen. Certainly, the idea will be 400 gold pieces. 50 a piece for the regular potions, 200 for the greater.
01:28:04
Speaker
Seems like exactly what we need, thank you. Which one? Let's add those. Get my hands over 400 gold. Did you use that from your stockpile and buy those? Care for anything else? Seth's broke, so he's just looking at everyone throwing this cash around here. Is there anything you would like to buy, Seth? What? No, I'm fine. Just looking. Just browsing. Thank you very much, Master Dwarf.
01:28:31
Speaker
While we're here, you don't happen to do diamonds, do you? Myself, no. You may have better luck with the halflings across in Nomad's bounty. Try your luck on the marketplace, but I haven't seen any jewel traders today. We're looking for spell components in the light. It's always the halflings.
01:28:50
Speaker
Yes, or occasionally the sons we even pour in. Thank you. It depends on your craft. I appreciate your business today. We appreciate you being able to provide what you could. Thank you.
01:29:04
Speaker
As we step back out into the street, Raines will go, well, I'd like to visit the armour, I'd like to see if I'll take you at your word and get you those diamonds, and I'd also think it's wise that we look for transportation as

Shopping Adventures and Tensions

01:29:15
Speaker
well. Well, if transportation's the working place is close to the toll house, so maybe we should do all the other shopping first. And then transportation. Or then perhaps just one or two of us go over to get the transportation, rather than the ones that might be conspicuous.
01:29:28
Speaker
Okay. As you step out of the potion shop, your passive is high enough, Seth. You spot a horn-billed glider. What do you know what that looked like? There's an illustration of it in the page you were given. He's going to open the sheets up and look at the sheet, then look up at the bird. I need to go to a shop.
01:29:56
Speaker
Okay. Which, which, which are you all right? The, uh, the, the one over here. And he's just going to follow the bird for a bit. It sort of circles for a spell and then roosts in a nest, not far from the Sanzweeb Emporium. Okay.
01:30:19
Speaker
So we kind of just look around and kind of scope out the entrance of the house that it nested. Is it in a house near it or on? So it's sort of like on the canopy of the shop front itself. Of the San Suiv Emporium. Yeah, I'm going to go in here for a minute. Oh, they've gone. I think. I don't know. Are you on the going there on your own or this? Yeah, I'm a big boy. Are we going into the Emporium, would you say?
01:30:45
Speaker
How does F-star has to go in on his own? Well you can come in, it's alright. Okay. Guess we'll come in. Just looking at what they sell here, clothes. Can I pursue what he's looking at?
01:30:57
Speaker
No, you probably expect he's looking at the sun, sorry, the second moon. Weren't we just told that this is a particularly good place? Could be a place with diamonds, anyway. Could be. Well done, the brains, but that's fine. Yeah, we can go in there. Also for desert clothing as well. Okay. So yeah, you descend back down the spiral and you cross to one of the other outcrops. And there is where the Emporium sits. And it has this big old frontage outside the front. There's all sorts of head in. Seth, are you doing anything particular?
01:31:25
Speaker
He's going to walk in and make a beeline for the proprietor behind the counter or someone who looks at the work there and is very going to obviously say I've found the nest in Snakerun. I was looking for one with a sparrow hawk but I don't think they fly around these parts
01:31:52
Speaker
Looking for a nest. There are some... That's a female wood elf speaking to you. There are some nesting birds outside the front of my shop. No sparrow hawks here. None at all. No. Right. Erm...
01:32:12
Speaker
We're also looking for some diamonds. Do you have any? About 300 Goldsworth, perhaps? No diamonds, I'm afraid. Never know what these birds pick up, though. I want to check their nests. Why? There's shit in them normally, don't they? The rest of you...
01:32:37
Speaker
are standing in a really fine textile shop, essentially, as the majority of this wares here, and then some clothes, some more sort of elaborate versions of some of the desert cloaks that you saw on the market stand.
01:32:55
Speaker
Speaking to Seth just then is this sort of quite petite female Wood Elf figure. But the striking thing here is this colossal sabre-toothed tiger that is just loose in the shot. And as you moved in with pace, sort of, and if you followed Seth as a group, just sort of closed off the door behind you and there's just a low growl. And the Wood Elf says, Dolsey, down.
01:33:25
Speaker
and the tiger sort of sits. We're looking for some better clothes than to suit the desert travel.
01:33:36
Speaker
If that's the kind of stuff that you clearly stop. Absolutely, yes. I can tell you desert robes, desert clothes. Are you going on long expeditions here? Towards scorch helm, to start with. You'll not want to be traveling in, what on earth is that? Looking at alpha. I would not recommend metals. Yes, let me kit you out with some traveling gear. How many? One, two, three, four, five, six? My gear's fine. And Vicks looks down at his long, thick leather coat and pirate boots.
01:34:07
Speaker
You will be warm. I like the heat. How much will six be? Something fancy or just something that does the trick? Something that does the trick. We don't want to be stood out as sore thumbs of... Gold a piece?
01:34:21
Speaker
That's lovely. Define fancy. I can... Raines, we don't want love. Raines, we're not going to the desert bowl. I've got some gold embossed ones. No. I can lace it with some very rare silks. Raines, let's do it. Raines, let's do it. Raines, come on. Raines, come on. You're of higher birth.
01:34:40
Speaker
I have this one black cloak with this gold stitching. And there is this silk that comes from this far away kingdom. You may have heard of it before. It's called Shadow Mend. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Bellum Draconis. Now get the blake coat with the silk. Yeah, that'll be great. Did you just say that? That wasn't like it. You said the phrase.
01:35:06
Speaker
No, yes. The sabre-toothed tiger begins growling again. Stands aggressively. Her tail is able to just close the door behind you. Sorry guys. What did you say?
01:35:33
Speaker
I'm full. He's been on the Keltrad last night. And I'm still on it. I taste the colours. Why did he say? I didn't even hear what he said. I read her body language. Yes, she is looking threatened.
01:35:57
Speaker
Perhaps we could just finish our, I see he's been on the couch, perhaps we'll just finish our transaction here and we'll be out of your way. Where did mom go, Dad? He's been doing weird phrases like that. I urge you now to leave. Yep. Before I ask my friend to devour you. I encourage you, looking at Seth, to check the nests urgently. Yep. If I hear that again.
01:36:28
Speaker
I mean, I, yeah. Oh, my head. Crazy times. I must see you outside. You must all leave. Come on, get out. She asked us. Take the ropes. I'm not selling you anything other than the basic essentials. Just take them. Five gold pieces, please. Apologies, and everyone hones over the five gold pieces. Mark my word, if you are here lingering any further, I will call the abcisca. We're out.
01:36:58
Speaker
Yep, we're gone. And everyone will sort of grab the scrubber. And when we're outside, everyone just sort of... Perhaps just place a hand on Nix's shoulder for a moment. How rough are you doing that? Not like Naughty Child, I'm just placing a firm hand on your shoulder. I'm shaking that off.
01:37:23
Speaker
I'll place the hand firmly on your shoulder. No, you don't. Nicks, nicks, nicks. Get off. Easy lad. Get your hand off. Reins, give me a leg up.
01:37:47
Speaker
Put your hands like this, like a cup, and let me put my foot on it. You're gonna want someone stronger than me, Seth. Alpha, Alpha, give me a leg up. Put your stupid metal arms like this. Let me put my foot in it, and then hoof me. You done a hoof before? What is a hoof? When you hoof.
01:38:13
Speaker
You give me a push. I need to get on the roof. Okay. All right, just don't want to get in the way of their fighting. But I need to go check this nest. Very well.
01:38:27
Speaker
Don't ask questions. I've got no answers. And it's going to try and climb up whilst they're awkwardly having that, paying their attention to it. It's not hard. You just need an extra couple of foot just to get onto that lip. And there is, yeah, this really ornate... I'm just talking in many ways. Yeah. Like almost three foot in diameter nest. It's quite huge birds, no eggs in it or anything. But there is a piece of parchment.
01:38:53
Speaker
And he's going to quickly roll that up, put it up a sleeve that he's got nearby and then just kind of look like he's patting it to make sure it's nice and neat.

Mysterious Messages and Future Hints

01:39:03
Speaker
Kind of rub his hands off any budget and then... Okay, Alpha, back down. Back down. Okay. Okay. Then instantly pull that out of his sleeve and very obviously open it up and read it. It says the following.
01:39:20
Speaker
If anyone else is looking over the shoulder of Seth, you see Nick. I'm paying attention to Nick. Everyone's taking his hand off Nick, giving Nick a look. And it's just going to leave. Good. Bal, or Alpha, if you're... Nick's instantly relaxed. Thinking that. It's only for my passive. I wouldn't be actively trying to investigate. Bal, your passive would dictate you and probably be able to speculate, but it's blank to your eyes. Okay, okay.
01:39:45
Speaker
Seth, it's blank the moment you open it. And then again, you just study it for a second. And like Tom Riddle's diary, words begin to appear in a very familiar handwriting. It says, glad to see you made it out of there in one piece. Check this group you are with are on the level. If you are satisfied, bring them to Sans Weave Emporium.
01:40:11
Speaker
Ask if they have any hand-spun woolen samples from the Eastern Osran Isle. If not, ditch them. Something big is on the winds. S-H. Sorry, please don't have the name of the word to ask for again. Ask if they have any hand-spun woolen samples from the Eastern Osran Isle. Thank you.
01:40:41
Speaker
If not, ditch them. Something big is on the winds. S.H. Okay. And that is where we're going to end this week's episode of Fellowship of Tabletop. Bob Trokontis, you wee. S.H. So many secret hidden messages. Nick's got his Nick's in a twist. Nick's has.
01:41:08
Speaker
Knickers. Don't put your hand on him. No touchy. But if you wanted to find me, you can do so on our social media pages. We're on X at Ferris Ship Table. I'm at OI World One. Darren's at. Danpejo6.
