Introduction to the Podcast and Characters

00:00:00
Speaker
Until next time, Calum, take over. Guys, fuck!
00:00:20
Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to tonight's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5e podcast set in a disputed lands of the verandian jungle in the magical homebrood world of Erith. My name is Darren and I'm going to run some D&D for you. These are The Shadowman Tales.
00:00:36
Speaker
With me tonight we have playing the human ranger McBenna, we have Will. Hello. Playing the dragonborn paladin Drago, we have Ian. What up? Playing the dragonborn rogue Syengar, we have Mark. I just burnt a little bit of vomit came up.
00:00:50
Speaker
I could tell in your face that something horrific happened to you. Just a little bit. Vomberts are the worst. You thought you'd accidentally taste the back of your throat. Did you have to manually swallow it as well, or did it just, you know, creep back down on its own? No, it wasn't enough. What other form of swallowing is there? Well, you sometimes with a vomberp, you have to really kind of close your eyes and force yourself to swallow it because your body's like, hell no, you eat that thing. And then other times it just peaks up and then goes back down, slides down. It ferreted, it kind of popped up, popped back down.
00:01:21
Speaker
Prairie Dog. Hi everyone, on the subject of ferreting, playing the bugbear during Chungus Bong Water with our one-shot extraordinaire, Wilbot. I always manually swallow. There's the opening.
00:01:41
Speaker
Alan's here. Alan's here. He plays a barbarian druid thing called Kratz. I can't. Ladies and gentlemen, round of applause for Will, you know. Fuck me. Never mind. Carry on. You've probably heard from my entrance there that unfortunately Danny can't be with us tonight.

Recap and Concerns Over UNT's Presence

00:02:02
Speaker
He is busy training his stamp collection. But yeah, we'll go with he's busy manually swallowing.
00:02:12
Speaker
Ah, welcome to tonight's episode. Save me. Save the epic voiceover guy. Save us. Previously on the Fellowship of the Tabletop, our party ended up having a little bit of a fight in the middle of the street after they left the burning wreckage of my guy's shop. My guy. I can still represent even though he's dead.
00:02:39
Speaker
At this point, the party in the street, the city under attack by vicious hordes of UNT. Overhead, the drake swirled and breathed fire down upon the outskirts of the city. Inside was chaos. In the distance, Ren was being taken away by the mysterious leader of the UNT that had identified that Ren was the one they were after. The party
00:03:05
Speaker
burst forth, Drago riding upon his horse, then Missystep used magic correctly for the first time, which is quite amazing for the players. He then Missystep next to the bad guy started fighting. Everyone else started joining in. Kratz, as a vicious wolf at this point, was bounding along like some sort of hyper puppy biting things left and right.
00:03:29
Speaker
Chungus was riding a dinosaur like something out of Jurassic Park was again biting things. And then in the back was McBenna and Ukaburra. Ukaburra probably then tried to stab McBenna in the back by using Thunderstep. Meanwhile, the party fight continued. Demons were summoned, they were killed. Then the bad guy was defeated and landing within the main street, the battle over. The leader of the Drakes,
00:03:57
Speaker
acknowledged the efforts the party had gone to, to help save the city. Thank you very, very much Epic Voiceover Guy for yet another, another fantastic recap on what happened last time on the first week of the tabletop. Thanks. As the dust is settling, the sheer carnage that has been unleashed on this city becomes apparent to you all.
00:04:27
Speaker
wailing, crying, suffering reverberates around the streets as people check on their injured, they're dead. It's really hard now to decipher who was Yuan Ti and who was an innocent bystander. You realise
00:04:46
Speaker
that most of the people within the city appear to be people who are close to the form that you now identify as knowing as pure blood, those who are in the early stages of transforming into U1T, importantly still maintaining the shape and look of whoever they were before their transition.
00:05:08
Speaker
Soul Reaver pulls herself down from the golden glistening scales of Soul Behemoth. You see now that an arrow appears to have struck her in her clavicle. She seems to either be not aware it's there or aware it's there and paying it. No heed. She strides towards you all and says to you all, what the hell happened?
00:05:36
Speaker
Well, a shot blew up, the UNT attacked, and then we killed the guy that was trying to steal a member of our party that you guys were all worried about. Outside the city, the bigger ones, they did all this just to get to you.
00:05:58
Speaker
Well, maybe, I don't know, maybe you have something in the city they want as well. I mean, this happened to us just as it happened to you. We have no other answers other than what McBenna just said.
00:06:13
Speaker
Soreba walks over to one of the wands on the floor and turns it over with her boot. You can see now that this is one of the wands that has been killed by an arrow, probably one of them at Bennet. And you can see that where the wound has gone in, that the blood has started to clot around the throat. And you can see instead of clotting in a natural colour, there is this dark green and purple and black around the veins that appear to have clotted around this wound.
00:06:43
Speaker
How did we not see this? These people must have been here for months. There's so many. Maybe you spent too long flying in the skies. She doesn't pay any heed to that, but you can see that there is a look of genuine concern on her face that this has somehow happened. It seems that you're... It seems you're...
00:07:13
Speaker
animosity against the UNT has been brewing for a long time and it clearly that the person that we're pursuing took advantage of what the UNT had built up and made them use what force they had to do what he's done here. Now we don't know if coming after Ren is the only thing he was after or if there's something else that's also happened in the city because he was coming here for a reason.
00:07:45
Speaker
Again, you get the sense that she's took that in and she's listening to you and she's clearly also acknowledged what Drago has said. If you see a hand just come up and just in one clean pull, just pull the arrow out of her clavicle and just chuck it to one side.
00:08:02
Speaker
As she takes in that and goes to look at you all, suddenly a guard comes down and miss still what is still quite a chaotic scene. There are a lot of bereaved and upset people. This is effectively the aftermath of an act of terror. And one of the guards comes down to you all and runs past you and whispers something to Soulraver. She looks back at you all and says,
00:08:31
Speaker
we need to get back to the waterfall. It's Skrymar. And she starts to walk back up the street towards the waterfall where this large creature which is now dead at your feet and appears to be decaying very quickly into pus and ooze and the stench is quite palpable, it's disgusting.
00:08:53
Speaker
And she walks straight past that and heads back up towards the waterfall, the waterfall within which is the teleportation circle of which you know that this creature was carrying Ren towards. Ren at this point is going to stagger to her feet. And it's just going to look at you all and say, I'm sorry, I didn't
00:09:26
Speaker
And that's all she can manage. No apologies needed. Just make sure you stay close. You were blinded. We were all blinded. We got you back. That's all that matters. Draghi is going to observe the scene. How many just around the near vicinity are gone, past,

Revelations and Mission Unveiled

00:09:49
Speaker
diseased, that aren't UNT or pure blood or whatever the half UNTs are or fresh UNTs are.
00:09:49
Speaker
I tried.
00:09:55
Speaker
Yeah, at a glance and with your perception, which I still got in front of me from last time, you can see that there are corpses up around here that probably as well looking back down the street and back outside the city walls where you can see the aftermath of a more explosive and violent fight appears to have taken as well.
00:10:17
Speaker
could be in the hundreds that this is a attack. It's worth noting as well. In fact, no, I'll do this in game. Ren sees you looking around and she says, they knew we were going to mygas. Mygas.
00:10:46
Speaker
All this just to get to us. You jump into conclusions and you don't know what's just for us. Torvid was there at Maigar's. Maigar. Then his two minions were UNT. Now if Soul Reaver is saying that the UNT have been here a while, it might just be that the hired muscle Torvid captured.
00:11:13
Speaker
happen to be by coincidence UNT and then the one that came to get you somehow tracked you the same way we've been tracking Karl Giet. Or the UNT just took an opportunity to sack the city. But we heard the voice that said it's her we're after.
00:11:37
Speaker
I know, but it's a bit much to put it all on her shoulders. Oh, don't get me wrong. I agree, but she deserves the truth. She listens to you, Macbeth, and she glances back towards Solba, whom it's the great, large, giant golden drake that still remains in the town square. If they thought they could take the silly, they
00:12:06
Speaker
suicide. It could be whatever Cauchy had manipulated them with made them do something that was clearly far beyond what they were actually capable of. Certainly
00:12:25
Speaker
against the Drakes, they had no chance, bar, attacking in much greater numbers or infiltrating the city better. This seemed prepared, but perhaps hatched a little too early. What if this is some sort of distraction, some way that they're trying to slow down the city's response whilst this Karl goes off about his plans? I mean, it's going to take a while for these guys to recover. Exactly.
00:12:55
Speaker
Right, we should... She seemed a bit worried about the waterfall. Oh, Skryma, yeah, we need to go. Does Ren look injured? Yes. Okay, then Chungus is easily going to cast a healing word for six points of healing towards her, just to kind of allow her to be able to move, I suppose, a bit easier. Okay. Thanks.
00:13:29
Speaker
I suppose we'll go and go after Skymar unless anyone else is wanting to do anything else. No, I think Chungus would want to definitely go to Skymar ASAP. So I think I would probably hold back a little bit and kind of just take him, if anything's just happened, and then kind of just follow along behind looking over his shoulder as well. Sword's still drawn as well, thinking a further UNT attack could take place at any moment.
00:13:55
Speaker
Yeah it's just gonna close his eyes grip the amulet and send a prayer up to Akiva. I know that there's some some dead down here that need taking care of and that unfortunately dragon is needed elsewhere.
00:14:12
Speaker
Okay, Krabs probably still in his direwolf form. He's just going to let a few growls out

Planning the Confrontation

00:14:18
Speaker
and then the arrow that got thrown over early, he's going to kind of walk over, grab it in his teeth and just follow him up to the waterfall with the arrow in his mouth. He thinks it's a stick right now. He needs something to cheer him up, so he's playing with a stick for a bit.
00:14:33
Speaker
Okay, as that happens, Luca Barra is just going to come up to you, Kratz and you, Chungus, and he's just going to say to you all, I'm afraid that my path is, I'm going to do what I can. Did you say, Chungus, that there was something that you wanted doing, memory ruin yourself?
00:15:01
Speaker
Oh yeah, here there is. Do you need me with you or is it something that you might be able to sort for me? No, they won't let you in, they only let those who have studied the arcane arts or have enough of the arcanic arts about them into the cloisters at the top of the mountain there. In which case I will be very much indebted to you if you could.
00:15:29
Speaker
and Chungus is going to reach up to the pouch of cards around his neck, and he's just going to kind of take it off from him, be rummaging around in it somewhat. And I mean, I suppose a lot of you would have seen this for the first time. He's got various different types of leather that's basically been pressed and cut into kind of like his own little deck, if you like, but there is one card that is not like the rest of them.
00:15:53
Speaker
one of them looks to be like some sort of pressed leaf and he very and it's kind of within right in the center of the deck and what he does is he very carefully pulls it out almost with a reverence in some way and if anyone was kind of paying close attention what they would see on this is a really
00:16:15
Speaker
A really childlike drawing, they would see basically like a drawing done with various different kind of like almost like pastes, like plant paste, different colors. But it's a drawing of what looks like a dinosaur, a bipedal dinosaur, not too dissimilar from an Allosaurus. And he would take that out and he would hand it over to Ukuburra and say,
00:16:47
Speaker
This is of the utmost importance to me if you could pass that on and do the rituals that you told me about the other night. Like I said, I would be forever in your debt. I will. One other thing. Should the two dragonborn decide they wish to come up in the
00:17:12
Speaker
And access the forge and get this whatever blade it is that Skymar was talking about. Mountain top at dawn. Tell them to head up at first light. I will. Thank you.
00:17:29
Speaker
and Ukaburra will make his way off into the crowd, back up onto the second tier. You see him start to climb back up towards the city and you assume by extension beyond that, up to the closest of the memory rooms at the top of the mountain. And that's where Ukaburra is going to leave you all. Those of you who make your way back into the waterfall,
00:17:56
Speaker
You see something that seems to immediately make you go for your weapons. You see a host of dead figures, a host of people who again, similar to the corpse in the street, a series of bloodied yuan-ti. You see the signs of purple-green wounds, the stench of this vile blood. You don't see any sign of Skrymar.
00:18:23
Speaker
What you do see, however, is a large snake-like figure, golden and blues, with a kind of blue shawl that seems to descend from the head. It has almost like a lion's mane. The head, you kind of recognize, it's the thing that makes you hold from drawing your weapons, along from the fact as well that Soul Raver doesn't seem particularly disturbed by this.
00:18:49
Speaker
Chungus, as the person most attuned to Scrymar Earthkool, one of the person who seemed to give the most reverence to that name, you can see that the head of this snake appears to have the knowing aged look of Scrymar Earthkool. What do you all want to do?
00:19:17
Speaker
Um, do, do any of the guys with us kind of try and draw weapons at all? Up to them. If they're all dead. Is the golden blue snake figure dead? Nope. It's very much alive. Oh, well. Yeah. Dragos weapon never got put back. I'm with you. Yeah. Are they still out? In which case, yeah. Uh, jungles will definitely pipe up and say, no, no, no, this isn't.
00:19:45
Speaker
This isn't what you think it might be, I think. Scrymar, is that you?
00:19:52
Speaker
Yes, if you will check the WhatsApp chat, you will see that I have sent you an image as well of what this figure looks like. Which for your benefit audience, because obviously you're not connected to our WhatsApp chat, it looks like a snake with a, you know, Voldemort from the first Harry Potter film, The Philosopher's Stone, or Sorcerer's Stone, if you're American, with that Voldemort kind of weird ass face at the top of the snake, and then some weird kind of like,
00:20:21
Speaker
points coming away. How are the things from the dinosaur that spits in Jurassic Park? A dinosaur that spits in Jurassic Park kind of thing. A bit like a penis as well. If that and Voldemort had been a snake, a love child. A snake. Yeah. A hate child. In the Eiffel Tower. A hate child. It would just ruin this character.
00:20:52
Speaker
It is I, Skrymar, as you know me by. When the Yuantee attacked, I had no choice but to turn into my true form. I was once known by the name of Skerkem, the dark serpent whom the Yuantee serve, was my brother, Mer-Shaluk. We are creatures of the First World.
00:21:22
Speaker
We came to this well the millennia ago, along with the great spring tree of Aerith's gift, the tree at the top of the mountain that provides the essence of memory. You probably have many questions for me. I am happy to answer them.
00:21:56
Speaker
Crap, I think it's still just gonna be just kind of in almost attack mode. He's just kind of growling at this creature. It's very unusual. He doesn't understand what it is. He still sees it as an enemy, but he's waiting for other people to kind of attack first. Did they come here for you? I don't know what's brought them here. I suspect that they were brought here
00:22:21
Speaker
because they fear what will happen if I allow you to pass through this teleportation circle. The Yuan-T have clearly built up a presence in this city. That I have been unable to detect it worries me greatly. Drago at that is just going to say under his breath to Ren. See, they're here for all of us, not just you. It's not a wait you should carry alone.
00:22:53
Speaker
Sure. There are many worlds across the material plane. Either side sits the plane of light and nature. The fey sit in the plane known as the feywild and the plane of darkness. These are commonly known as the feywild and the shadowfell. Perhaps I can explain this to you better by talking to you about divination.
00:23:23
Speaker
All pantheons, be it Selene or Akiva, have a unifying truth, the duality of our existence, the body and the soul, the bridge and connection of existence between which it is too complicated for words, but some in this city call it the essence of memory.
00:23:49
Speaker
His eyes then seemed to dart towards you, Drago. Grazette was defeated in body when you killed him. His soul form, we must assume, remains in the planes of hell in the realms of Ivernus. You could not defeat his soul in this world any more than your friend Shader could truly have been eradicated in the form of his soul, only in material form.
00:24:18
Speaker
Myself and my brother, we were children of the first world. All children of the first world are children of the gods and demigods. Grazette was our father. Oh shit. Uh, just quickly, what's a Grazette?
00:24:44
Speaker
Not a good time. Not a good time. I'll just back. Uh-huh. Grazek... was responsible for killing our father. Oh shit. He's the one who killed... then gone. It's a father thing, really, by the sounds of things. I'm gonna back off and just process this for a bit. I feel them up.
00:25:14
Speaker
He's going to put the blade away and just kind of tone us back and kind of rub his eyes for a second. Sorry, that's the first time he's heard that. I can't apologize for killing Grazette though. You were not the first to kill Grazette. Grazette was our father. Can we pretend I was?
00:25:41
Speaker
We were created to help him destroy the First World,

Personal Grievances and Preparations

00:25:45
Speaker
and so we did, destroying even its name. Hold on, sorry, Patrick, you were created to destroy the First World. The First Material Plane. Its name has long since lost. We realised that we were created for horror and resigned to stop our father.
00:26:04
Speaker
We succeeded as you did in banishing both Grazette's body and his spiritual forms into the planes of hell. We were even able to rescue parts of the first world and scatter them across the material plane. Traces of them will exist in the world you call the Sword Coast. Here, it is the great spring tree of Eris' gift from which all water of Eris flows from. Its existence enables memory to endure.
00:26:34
Speaker
I was deceived by my brother. I wished to stop Grazette to save the material world. Marishalak defeated my father to replace him. That was his ambition. With the help of the people of the verandian.
00:26:52
Speaker
We banished Mero-Shalak's form to the Shadowfell by sealing him within one of the Twin Mountain Points, the one known as Shadow Point Peak, twin of this very mountain and connected by teleportation by this circle. I was allowed to stay on the Material Plane in return for never leaving the Great Mountain of Eryth. The Ever-Guardians do not connect Dashcalorae to other realms.
00:27:19
Speaker
but they do connect me. Should I try to leave this city, I will be banished beyond this gate, and return to the Feywild. Whilst Meryl Sherlock's body may be in the Shatterfell, his soul is on this plane. It exists in the corruption of every U1-T.
00:27:46
Speaker
If Meruschulach has reached out for a tome that connects this world to the Shadowfell, it is because he wishes to use it to return in body to the material world to replace, to replace the, the hole in darkness and evil that you created when you banished Grazette once more. Killed. Sounds better than banished.
00:28:19
Speaker
He moves along to Uall and continues to look at Uall and says, the chance of Meru Shulak's body returning to this world we preempted. We preempted. Centuries ago, I worked with the Druids of Air and Earth of this city to turn the world for a thousand leagues around Shadowpoint Pink to impenetrable cold and snow.
00:28:42
Speaker
If Mary Sherlock has sent this show of force after you, it is because he fears you teleporting and stopping this Karl Jeet. It is impossible to reach the peak of the Shadow Point Peak without succumbing to starvation. Karl must be sacrificing you on tea and eating them to sustain his own journey towards the peak.
00:29:16
Speaker
Right then, so we should muster up ourselves, we'll get your Drake riders and we'll go to this mountain and deal with it, yeah? The Drakes will not make it to Shadowpoint Peak, nor will they be able to teleport through this circle. Rem will start to put pieces of the puzzle together and she'll look at you all and say,
00:29:40
Speaker
So that's what the tome from Fatherkeep does. It opens up a gateway to the Shadowfell. I didn't ask when we were hired to get it, what it was for. I wasn't judging you, but perhaps this was Carl's plan all along. If he was manipulated, if...
00:30:09
Speaker
Perhaps this creature that's empowered, Carl Jeats, he's manipulated both him and Andreslin and made him think that he needed the book so that a party would go in and get the book. I don't know. Ren's going to walk over to the teleportation circle. What are we waiting for?
00:30:41
Speaker
Well, some of us are a bit fucked up from that fight. And as much as you're a bonny lass and let's go for it, if we actually want to succeed, we realise that this isn't just us trying to kill a cat man. This is us trying to stop someone from bringing back what is essentially a god.
00:31:01
Speaker
and perhaps we need to be more equipped than we are. And speaking of equipped, Ucubura told me, and he kind of looks over at Sayangar Andrago, he said something about getting to the mountaintop at dawn for the forge. You got a sword or something you need to pick up? Yeah, I guess with everything going on, that's not a bad idea, getting my old sword back.
00:31:31
Speaker
And then he's going to turn to the guy's name, his name I've forgotten, Skarken. Skarken, or you can call him Skrymer. Skrymer. That's in elven form. He can polymorph into an elf. Going to look to squad Skrymer. If Karl was unable to use other means and had to travel normally,
00:31:58
Speaker
How long would it take him to get to this shadow keep place? It is difficult to say. Rem will then chip up with, I can try and find him again. That would be useful. That would tell us where he is, because that then gives the indication of where the time is of the essence.
00:32:24
Speaker
or whether we can take a day to make sure we're reaped to actually get into this fight. Okay. Give me a sec and you'll see Ren as she's done before. We'll just lean back her head and her eyes will glaze and she'll start to cast Scrying.
00:32:45
Speaker
And just as she does so, Chungus will do exactly what he did last time and just say, you've got Selene's blessings too. And they'll put a hand on her and cast guidance. Do you want to roll that? Because she's about to roll for scrying. She gets quite a nice bump to this because she knows Karl and she has something that belongs to him. But he could still in theory pass the save.
00:33:03
Speaker
It's a three on the d4 added. Okay, you'll all be pleased to know it's not Ren who rolls it's Karl G and he's just rolled a natural one Yeah, she leans back and she snaps back into this world and goes he's He's somewhere in snow, but he doesn't appear to be on a mountain yet Okay Okay
00:33:32
Speaker
He didn't have many UNT with him, I think. I think he's thrown a large chunk of what he had at his disposal at others today. He must have used, that must be various means that he's used to get too far out of us because he wasn't that far, we weren't that far behind him. Yeah, I agree. But what it is, it's done now. So he's not there yet. We could probably take the day and
00:33:59
Speaker
if the fates have their way, we'll probably arrive just at the same time as he is, because that's how these things work. Skrymar will throw into this and goes, once he reaches the mountain, it won't be instantaneous the process of returning, mirror-shocked, sold to his body. You must defeat
00:34:29
Speaker
whatever form of mirror shock arrives through that portal before his soul returns to his body. Elsewise, he will be unstoppable. Is there anything else? I mean, if we get there, is it a case of disrupting the summoning? Or once it started, is that it? You know, is there a big leave we've got to pull? All I know is
00:34:57
Speaker
is that as long as his soul is separate from his body, he is defeatable. You will have the means to kill him. Could we banish him? It's body I mean. It is not a bad idea. Does the soul have to go to that particular body for the ritual to be complete? What happens if another body was to intercept it?
00:35:28
Speaker
It is not enough. If that was enough, Marishok would already be present upon this form. His soul is the U1-T. Every U1-T who accepts the embrace of the Dark Serpent takes on a part of Marishok's soul, including this Khaledjeet. Right, so that soul needs that body, and only that body.
00:35:57
Speaker
Good to know. It might be that he has put this Kyle Jute at the head of his spiritual form and that in killing him may be enough to banish his spiritual form from this realm as well. So just to be, just to be safe, Seingal will kind of holler up from the back of the room, sorry, of the area near the waterfall.
00:36:26
Speaker
kill the cat man, kill the UNT just to make sure not that I've got a hankering for or anything. And then we're all good. Or is there something else we're missing? This is directed to the snake person that he's confused about. Skryar Ken or Skrymar answers you and says, you will need to allow this Khajiit to open.
00:36:56
Speaker
the gateway to the Shadowfell, should you wish to defeat Marishalk. However, it may be that you are able to keep Marishalk trapped within the Shadowfell if you are able to stop Karl before he can open the tome. Is there anyone to stop anyone doing what Khaji would do again? This would be my question. As I said, he turns to you, Draugr, and smiles.
00:37:26
Speaker
We never were able to kill either Marishalc or Grazette. We were only able to banish them. If you truly did kill Grazette, then perhaps you will have the means to do what I could not and be able to kill my brother. And that in turn would also rid the world of the U1T. But to do that, you will have to allow this Khajiit
00:37:54
Speaker
to open the tome, to open the gateway to the Shadowfell and allow Mera Shulk to return. Okay, so just again, slow brain here wanting to figure this out. Follow Khaji, don't kill the UNT yet. No, we can kill the UNT. Oh, we can kill them, cool, that's good, that's good. Let him open the gate. As long as the gates open. Didn't you say that if we let the gate open and let it come here,
00:38:21
Speaker
then they join and that's it. Surely we're running the risk of... It will take time. It is a risk that you will take if that happens, but it will not be instantaneous. So what do we kill then? Well, I've just figured out, I've got a list here of things I want to kill. I'm killing the UNT, top priority number one. Kill Catman, priority number two-ish.
00:38:44
Speaker
And then this thing that's coming through, your brother, we wait for it to come through the portal and kill it as well. Just checking my priority list here. Tick, tick, tick. If it is body form only, the thing that will come through will be skeletal and will be undead. As long as it remains in skeletal form, you will be able to defeat it. Should it return to its true form,
00:39:10
Speaker
It will be unstoppable. If it joins with the spirits. And if it joins with Karl's sheet, it becomes his true form. Yes. So, kill UNT, kill the cat, let the gates open, kill Karl's sheet, kill the undead skeleton.

Emotional and Strategic Discussions

00:39:28
Speaker
And then shit down Karl's neck. That comes forth. After the killing, then we do the shitting.
00:39:35
Speaker
and also not die. Yeah, that as well, obviously. Okay. Sorry for simplifying that. A simple brain, simple. I'm going to just walk into the jungle a bit back in about 15 to 35 minutes. Oddly specific. Just gonna wander off away from the situation. Bye.
00:40:00
Speaker
Sol Raven will turn and say we've arranged accommodation for you at Morkas Hirth upon the third seat. It will provide you comfort and respite for the night and give you a chance to rest. That is very much appreciated. Now don't look at me being ungrateful here but you're asking us a bunch of absolute randomists
00:40:29
Speaker
from absolutely nowhere to do this now, you know, save it world. But how the fuck do you expect, you know, us randomers, short of, you know, God, killer, drago, fine. All right. He's got prize. It's fine. But the rest of us, we're just, you know, your average folk.
00:40:58
Speaker
It seems like we're going into this a bit, you know, unprepared, unequipped. You can take whatever rations you wish. I will also... At least we won't die on grip. In addition to which, I will also grant you the means to ensure
00:41:26
Speaker
that you are not affected by the cold of the mountain peak.
00:41:32
Speaker
I suspect that what you are hankering for is some form of magical item. Well, well, normally I've read these books, right? They normally suggest that great heroes have like lots of magical stuff to help them deal with what is essentially killing a near god or godling or someone who's trying to bring them back a god. Because if it comes with that port and says, are you a god? And we say yes, then it's going to be a bit awkward because we're not going to be our way. Very well, I will
00:42:04
Speaker
send word out into the city and I will find whatever I can to assist you. The shop should be pretty empty. You should just be able to get what you want. I'm sure there's more than just one shop like my guys. My guys. There are plenty. As I said, I will arrange for you the best items that we have in this city and ensure that they are delivered to you before your departure.
00:42:36
Speaker
I mean, I've been around a bit and I've seen a fair few magical items in my time. The Ranges used to have them a lot. And, you know, elves coming from the Shadow Men, you know, the elves were quite good at making items. So there were lots of them. But yeah, anything you can give us is great. Cheers. Very well. Van, I need a word with you. Okay, sure.
00:43:06
Speaker
It can't wait till later, just... when we've got some time. Draggo, I need a word with you. We can wait till later. When we've got some time. Draggo just gives you a cheeky wink. No, seriously though, I do actually. Oh yeah, okay, okay. I'm tired. I'm going to find it. Shed some skin.
00:43:32
Speaker
No, that was red talking. That was red. Oh, shit. I thought that was Scrymar talking. Right, you were in person. These things are getting very good. No, they sound completely different, people. Completely different. That's going to sound. I don't think the voices were that similar. You said it's up on the third seat, yeah? I did. We passed it on the way back, on the way up to the council chamber, didn't we? You did.
00:44:03
Speaker
I suggest we go there, have a drink, have some grub, rest up, and yeah. Out of interest, Scrymar, how many people here know about and Jungles will kind of just gesture to the snake this? My inner council and the senior Drake wardens know. The rest do not.
00:44:29
Speaker
Right. I would appreciate your discrepancy in this. Of course. I will in turn, of course, make sure that whatever means of assistance can be sent with you is delivered to you. Sounds like we've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow. Yeah, that fucking dog is still here.
00:45:00
Speaker
Let's go and drink and be merry, for tomorrow we may all be dead. I'm probably going to morph back into my normal goblin stage at this point and be like, now that sounds like a plan. OK, you're back. Yeah. What do you think, Kratz? It's been 57 minutes and you've yet to speak. I was speaking, but, you know, you don't speak wolf, do you? How do you know?
00:45:30
Speaker
But I was speaking and he didn't respond. Were you just ignoring me? Sorry, I thought your mouth was full of a fucking stick. I just wanted to play. Nobody took the arrow. As you will make your way back out into the city...
00:45:47
Speaker
It becomes clear that this city that was full of life and vibrancy when you arrived, only a matter of hours ago, has clearly descended into a state of shock and mourning. Drago looks around and he says, it's clear this city we came to of a matter of hours ago has turned into a place of shock and mourning. And all the dead bodies don't help. Rather perceptive there, Drago, you are a very wise person. Some may say.
00:46:17
Speaker
As you jovally make fun of the city suffering and make your way back up the ramps towards the third level, you come to what appears to be an entranceway into the mountain itself. And as you make your way in, you are led into an arcade, for want of a better term, a shopping arcade. You see a series of shops and other forms of
00:46:46
Speaker
smithry works as a host of things around this area as you are guided into what appears to be a ornate tavern or hotel for want of a better term that's actually built into the inside of the mountain you make your way still jovally mocking all the dead to the areas of your accommodation
00:47:15
Speaker
Your accommodation is quite plush, it's sweet, it's on the outskirts of the mountain walls and has balconies that seem to look out back over in the direction from which you arrived in the city. Soul is pretty much now disappearing over that horizon, back over the verandin and the direction from which you came. You see that there's a well-stocked bar, there appears to be kegs full of ale, there are bottles full of wine and mead,
00:47:46
Speaker
There are a series of low, comfortable seating areas. There's the means to light a fire, although either Dragonborn would probably bludgeon you if you tried to light it. It is still quite a hot evening. There's a series of rooms that appear to, and a series of doors that jutter off to rooms. There are some bathtubs in some of these rooms, and there are also enough for you all to have a bedroom eat.
00:48:13
Speaker
There's also in this room what appears to be a form of armory and seems to have some training dummies in it. You get the sense that this is given over to quite important guests when they stay in the city and in particular adventurers. The door is shut behind you and you're left alone in this very plush accommodation. All of you are there with the exception for Syengar. Does anyone want to do or say anything?
00:48:41
Speaker
Have we basically got a little sweet to ourselves is what it is. Yes. Yes. If the if the if this if Morkus hearth have a penthouse you are in it. McBenna will go in dump his stuff in one of the rooms and then go to the bar.
00:49:03
Speaker
Yeah, there are a assortment of drinks here. You notice that there are some shadow Mendian ale. This stuff is clearly imported from all over the world. There appears to be a particular lager that appears to have been considerably well-stocked upon the feedback of some of the guests that are here. It is a form of sleep guardian golden ale.
00:49:31
Speaker
That in particular seems to be quite popular. And annoyingly, I was trying to get in a plug for that beer that we were all drinking in Sweetgarden. Yeah, it's completely gone for my brain. Well, it was. Anyway, nevermind. King something. King Slayer. King Slayer. Yes, that's the name of this beer. Yes. I don't know if you can still get it, but if you can.
00:49:54
Speaker
where you can get it in, walk at her. I'll tell you what you could do is DM resident Danny on Twitter and he will be able to tell you. Jago, you would immediately notice that it's the first time you've seen this since being back in Aerith that you have seen these types of beers as well. Most of the stuff that you've seen has been rum-based. This is the first time that you've seen ale since returning.
00:50:20
Speaker
Um, yep, Drago would take in that, but he's, he's got, uh, his mind is preoccupied and he, um, wants to speak to Ren and McPenna wants to speak to him. So he's just like waiting for the opportune moments to capture. I'm full of those.

Reflection and Responsibilities

00:50:39
Speaker
Yeah. You see his people that Ren has made her way out to the balcony and he's just taking on the sunset. Very fun. Fancy eight. I'll take it. Um, I'll go out to see Ren.
00:50:50
Speaker
Don't talk to a wall. Little, little fun of fancy A joke for you. Right. We're out. She'll turn to you and say. I don't know. I don't know what to say. I'm sorry. Yeah, I could have garnered that. Listen. What we're about to go and do.
00:51:24
Speaker
You probably know. It guarantees a great deal of risk. I have been in a similar situation before and I have lost very dear friends because of these situations. This amulet around my neck was not mine.
00:51:52
Speaker
But to that of a dear friend named Claude, to which I owe a great deal towards. And he died, protecting Aerith, and at the same time granting me the power to kill Grazette. From my understanding, we're going to face a similar situation in the upcoming days.
00:52:23
Speaker
I don't expect you to heed the following advice. Because if someone was to say what I'm going to say to you, there'd be no chance I would listen. But I'd be remissed on Robin's behalf not to at least try to stop you. Ren, your story is not meant to end here. Your story probably isn't meant to even be here.
00:52:56
Speaker
You're meant to be reunited with Robin. It's the whole reason why we came here. It's been my mandate to get you there. If you follow us into the battle that's to come, I will try everything I can do to protect you.
00:53:17
Speaker
But there is a certain amount of risk. And as I've already said, I lost the last dear friend I went into this battle with. Is there any way I can get you to stay here? Not to remain useless. There's a lot of dead here that needs attention. There's a lot of good you can do here.
00:53:43
Speaker
I'd really rather you stay. I'm not going to force you. And like I said, I know it's hypocritical for me to ask because I wouldn't listen. But for Robin's sake, I needed to. I need to save you. I can open the teleportation circle and just send you all, but as Scrimas said,
00:54:09
Speaker
If I don't come with you, you'll have no way of coming back and you'll perish. It's deliberately designed to be frozen and locked off so no one can access it. Karl is only getting there because he appears to be consuming you on tea as they fall. I have to come with you because you're taking me to Robin. I have to come with you so I can get you out of there.
00:54:44
Speaker
I can't let all of those people go and potentially die while I stay here safe. I can't do that. Chungus, McBenna, Kratz, and Syngogabur. If I open that teleportation circle and I'm not there to bring you back, I'm sending you all to your death. I mean, you could open it again from being in the place that you are. If you're able to open it from where you are, after this is all done, you could open it again.
00:55:16
Speaker
I need to check her retort because I don't think she can. I think she has to be there, but I'm going to check that. But I'm not well versed with magic. I don't know the ways of teleportation. I could be wrong. Let me just commune with Akiva.
00:55:42
Speaker
Ah, indeed, correct. I don't know why I sound like Voldemort.
00:55:50
Speaker
come to die. So the principle of trans teleportation circle is that you know the symbols like the dialing code for the circle you are going to and you essentially have to commit those to memory and you have to almost do the sigils for the sequence for the place you want to go to and then a shipping portal appears and remains open for the end of your next turn and then you transport and
00:56:19
Speaker
It doesn't mention whether it's two way or not. It's got a range of 10 feet. It's got a range. She has to be there. It's got a range of 10 feet. She wants to bring you back. Yeah. She could, she could do theory. Plus it's open for only six seconds. Is it open two way? Because if she's opening it one way, if she's opening it from where we are, I do know. It is a good question.
00:56:46
Speaker
You know what I mean? It's like she opens it, we all walk through, it closes, she's still on the other side. Surely she can open it back up and we can walk back. That's what Drago's thinking. Every five minutes or so. Okay, a shimmering portal opens within the circle you drew and remains open until the end of your next turn. Any creature that enters the portal instantly appears within five feet of the destination circle or in the nearest unoccupied space that's occupied.
00:57:12
Speaker
It doesn't say it. I think this is the DM's rule. It doesn't say anything about whether you can travel the other way. It effectively only says that it doesn't specify whether it's a two-way gate or whether you can only go from one to the other. I am not the person about any of this. My understanding would be you open a portal, you can go back and forth. You're right. I've got the rules in front of me, but I can't discern unless you can see anything. There's nothing in it that specifically says
00:57:43
Speaker
that it is two-way. Now, if you want two-way, there's Arcane Gate. Arcane Gate is a two-way portal, but the fact that this portal that Ren creates is only active for six seconds. She can cast Arcane Gate. That's what she did to get you beyond the Wall of Force. She does have Arcane Gate. What's the range on it?
00:58:07
Speaker
Arcane Gate is, so Arcane Gate, you create a linked teleportation portal that remain open for the duration. The duration is 10 minutes. Choosing two points on the ground. Five hundred feet wouldn't work. Needs to be within 500 feet of you. Wouldn't work. Yeah. So the whole point of teleportation is that you
00:58:25
Speaker
Teleportation circles are fixed points that are created, and they're almost like stargates, essentially, anywhere on a material plane, because you're essentially using sigil sequences to dial them.
00:58:43
Speaker
But you're walking down the street and a portal opens up because someone on the other side has just kind of opened the gate and you just keep walking and you end up in front of the person who just opened the gate because you've walked through it. Do you understand what I'm saying? I do. As a connoisseur of the rules, do you lean towards DiEM's interpretation for this?
00:59:08
Speaker
Yes, I mean, because I say that there is no distinction. And I'm going to say no, we know. I agree. I agree with you, Dan, because it is one of those ones. A lot of people on the Internet say it is down to their choice. A lot of people go, oh, well, because it says you draw a thing on the ground that creates the portal. Therefore, it's literally you go in and get spat out. It's not otherwise it would be really dangerous. I've already DMs ruled it once anyway, in the sense that she cast it in fava keeping and dumped you randomly in the middle of the ocean.
00:59:36
Speaker
Yeah, if you want to make it very light. So, yeah, OK. We'll pick this up. Hold on. I can try. If that would make you feel better, but I would hate to think that I've stayed here and condemned you all to your death. Like I said, I can't keep you here against your will. I know I would feel better knowing you were here.
01:00:07
Speaker
coming up against a demigod previous experience and if i could have held Claude back when i had the chance doing it again i would hold him back the issue is is i believe that i'm not here get the fuck out of it oh fuck i'm not sorry i will knock you off of this balcony if you overhear me a rent talk again
01:00:36
Speaker
I'm in the bath, sorry. That was Will also wanted to weigh in, but Dragos doesn't know the mechanics of a Kessin spell. No, I can't because he doesn't. In that it's a fucking expensive spell to cast and, you know. Oh yeah, so Rem has one shot at it to get you there and bring you back. She's got effectively the spell she's got in her arsenal the means to get you there and bring you back. That's it. All right. I mean... Sleep on it.
01:01:06
Speaker
Okay, sure. Make it your decision. But if you would heed my advice, I have to try for Robin. There's a greater purpose to all of this for you. And if you're worried about letting people down, well, that's what I'm doing. I'm going to fight the war. So that part of this partnership that me and you have,
01:01:37
Speaker
You don't have to worry because I'm going to go through and I'm going to fight. Have a think about it. Draggo is going to walk. Draggo. I was doing a cool guy walk out. Yes. I'll make sure I make it. I promise you that.
01:02:07
Speaker
If that means something to you, that's what I'll make sure I do. If you're there, I'll make sure that you make it. I'm just the situation. And as the drago walks out, it's bringing too many memories close to home. Drago, it carries on. Ren turns back towards the sunset. Okay. Chungus Kratts, we haven't checked in with you guys yet.
01:02:35
Speaker
Yes, we're good. I think Jungus would, he wants to see the stars tonight more than any night, I think, in his life previous. So that would be at the forefront of his mind. And when Selen is in the sky, he would make his way out there to kind of to do his thing. I think that would occupy him more than other conversations happening.
01:03:07
Speaker
Cracks would probably have a drink or two to begin with, I think. It's just Cracks and McBenna. That's fine. I'll have that chat. I'll have that chat. In all fairness, what I was going to say...
01:03:20
Speaker
is that Krabs will probably stumble out to Astrid. Fuck you, Macbeth. If you're coming in to drink, Macbeth is going to engage you first. Fair enough. Yeah, I would go to the bar and I would have, I would certainly grab a drink or two. I punch him. Okay, so Macbeth is going to have been, he's sort of behind the wet bar sort of admiring the various drinks and sees Krabs coming along.
01:03:51
Speaker
I assume Kratz is helping himself to a drink? Yes, he is. He's sticking to the low shelves. He can't get anything from the high bits of the bar, so he'll settle for what's down low and he can grab without asking for any assistance.
01:04:04
Speaker
So McBenna will let Kratz do that because I'm not going to belittle the poor guy for being vertically challenged. And eventually McBenna will reach on one of the high shelves for a particularly good brand of shadow Mendian alcohol, probably liquor rather than beer. And he's going to go and place it next to Kratz.
01:04:33
Speaker
I think, given the stakes that we now face, it is worth us ensuring that a hatchet is well and truly buried, and preferably not in either of our backs. Your debt was taken by the other Dragonborn, if you remember.
01:04:58
Speaker
I've got no beef with you. No, not you, Drago, pointing to yourself. Sayangar. He's the one that took it. Drago, just from the background, puts his axe back. I'll see him lean round the door and go... Yeah, no. Breath weapon swallowed. And your squalor on the breath weapon. Head poking round. My point is...
01:05:28
Speaker
that neither you, me or Akabura can afford to be spending what we're going to face tomorrow looking over one of our shoulders to make sure we're not going to get shafted by the others. It's a fair point. You know, that whole talk about saving the planes. Yeah, exactly. Hence me deciding to, you know,
01:05:58
Speaker
make the effort and actually say, right, let's put this behind us. I don't really want to, if I'm honest. I think our fight was kind of fun. I really enjoyed it. My point is that what I don't want to have to do is be wary of what your mate, Okaburra, might or might not do in a fight.
01:06:27
Speaker
You might have enjoyed the fight. I might have enjoyed the fight, but Okaburra was out for blood. I'll make you a deal. I'll speak to Okaburra. I would appreciate that. Because the last thing I want to do is have to decide at some point in that fight that actually dealing with him is more important for my survival than anything else. What I want from you in return.
01:06:55
Speaker
If we're both alive, by the end of it all, I want another crack at you. All right. Just me and you. What? You in bear form? Because, you know... You're not scared of a bear, are you? Any staying person would be. And if anyone tells you they're not, they're fucking lying to you. Brilliant.
01:07:26
Speaker
Fair enough. There's two different types of bravery. There's being foolish and there's being brave. And if someone says, no, I'm not scared of a fucking bear, they're an absolute fucking idiot. What are the reasons I kind of pick it, you know? It's certainly a bit of a terrifying form. Oh yeah, and it does its job. Great. Thank you very much. But if someone says, oh, go fight that bear, I'll tell them they've got to fuck off.
01:07:57
Speaker
I'm not here to... I don't have a problem with Astrid. I've fought beside Astrid. I've got no problem with him. My worry is Okaburra because in that fight, in that street, he took steps to injure me.
01:08:22
Speaker
in his want to hold a grudge. Yeah. And that's fine. He wants to hold that grudge. That's fine. But I'll make sure that any hatches that are buried end up being buried in him. And that's not what I want to be doing. Goblin pride is a very finicky thing.
01:08:41
Speaker
He feels insulted, even though you did nothing directly to him. He's the one that feels the victim. Did stab him a couple of times, just saying. Aside from that. After he set me on fire, thanks Darren, yeah, you know. Yeah, he did set me on fire, but just for the purpose of just reminding our listeners there was fire and there was stabbing going on. Yeah, I stabbed him after trying to hit him, I was then set for fire. What have you just done, Darren? Why? Jeremy. I'm not laughing, Kyle.
01:09:11
Speaker
Let's get the lie detector out! Here they come! And he's not here to riposte and retore. And he wouldn't be in this conversation if he was. If he was here, this wouldn't be happening. Strap him up to the machine! Did you or did you not stab him? Yes, I did. We've got the results right here, sisters! Anyway, right, come on. Don't worry, at the end of this show or episode, we're going to make sure that everyone sits down with a third party and work out their differences.
01:09:43
Speaker
Completely lost my eyes thinking now. Look, Ukemo will leave you alone for tomorrow, but if you really want to bury the hatchet, there's only one way to do it. Just apologize to him for punching me. If you want to feel safe on that battlefield, if you want to know for definite that Ukemo will leave you alone, because he is someone of his own mind,
01:10:14
Speaker
Just next time you see him, apologize to him for punching me. There will be no more hatchets. Non-buried. They'll just won't be there. I've got no beef with you. I enjoyed our fight. You're a strong, you're a strong human. It was good. But unless you apologize, I can't make all the promises for Ukaburra. Fair enough.
01:10:44
Speaker
I'm old enough to know when things have gone beyond what they were and if it was just us then maybe I wouldn't be making this outreach but as Skymar laid out for some fucking reason we've been dragged into this save the fucking world malarkey yes that's a bit of bullshit really don't it I don't know how this has happened
01:11:10
Speaker
But fair enough, I'm willing to do what it has to be in order to make sure, just as long as you know, I'm going to make that effort. But if he doesn't reciprocate, that's not on me. If he doesn't, I will talk to him. It's all he wanted in the first place. It's all he wants now. Fair enough. And then MacBenna will open the bottle.
01:11:35
Speaker
Here, you should try this. It burns on the way down. It burns on the way out, but it's pretty good. I'm sure I've had worse. Thank you. And as Macbeth and Kratz take in this drink,
01:11:59
Speaker
Nightfall comes on as the sun was setting.

Building Connections and Future Plans

01:12:02
Speaker
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. I've got stuff to do if you're trying to end the episode. I'm not trying to end the episode. I still want to go out. Yeah, so I'll let you go out when you need to. Okay.
01:12:17
Speaker
Okay, I assume, Chungus, you're waiting for Nightfall, aren't you? Yeah, he is. Okay, do you think anyone want anything that they want to do before Nightfall? Yes, I would. Okay, Drago, what would you like to do? What time is it right now? Now that you've made it obvious, there's a sun in the sky. Whereabouts is it if I looked outside? It's now disappearing over the horizon.
01:12:45
Speaker
Then I've got time to talk to Macbeth. If I walk through dead, I can't do it. Is Macbeth on his own now? I think you would have passed each other in the room, so you're going to practice going out. No, not in a grunt.
01:13:04
Speaker
Solid. All the communication with that. That's all we need. That's all we need. Okay, so seeing McBenna alone at the bar, Drago will join him because McBenna's already told Drago that he would like a word. So he'll just stand up next to McBenna, close proximity, and just wait in companionable silence until McBenna needs to talk.
01:13:31
Speaker
Well, we seem to have been dragged into a real load of shit. This is more your epic tale, really. The kind of stuff you've done before, rather than what the rest of us are into. Yeah, indeed. And, you know, the first time around, I thought I'd been dragged into this shit for no reason. I learned the hard way. There's always a reason.
01:14:02
Speaker
I just quite like to be on the belief that I'm making my own decisions rather than some god or demigod or whatever already having it mapped out for me. The way I see it, MacBenna, if you really didn't want to be here, you wouldn't be here. This is true. You always have a choice. Yeah. I've had a chat with crats. Oh, yeah.

How did that go? Well, given this end of the world stuff, I decided to make the effort, be the bigger person, the better person, if you're honest. With the raise of the eyebrow. So you can learn new things as you get older. Yeah, turns out you can teach old dogs new tricks.
01:14:59
Speaker
Because, quite frankly, given what we're about to face, I don't want to be looking over my shoulder, making sure that either craps or ukaburra aren't going to try and shank me. I'm sure they won't. And even if they did. In that fight in the street drag hall, ukaburra injured me in the fight. He did.
01:15:27
Speaker
What he thought was right, given the situation. No, he knew exactly what he was doing. I've seen the magic he cast. I've been around a lot of people using spells to move around, especially when surrounded. And that kind of spell you don't cast without knowing you're going to hurt anyone else around you that does it. And we were already hurting from that fireball in that shot. I know. There was nothing that could have guaranteed he had nowhere knowing if I was going to live or not.
01:15:59
Speaker
He would have known my magic would bring you back. If you got to me in time, but you were all busy up there, dealing with the big boss. Don't cast the pain and the betrayal of Khajiit on every mishap that happens to you from others. You'll end up
01:16:26
Speaker
Quite alone. Trust me. It's not a path you want to walk. Fair enough. I've got your back. And I wanted to make you aware of what had happened. Now I've made the efforts with Kratts and Kratts says all I need to do is apologize to Ucaburra. If that's all Ucaburra needs is a few words in the air then I'll do it. Because I don't want to be looking over my shoulder.
01:16:51
Speaker
Look, if you ended up looking over your shoulder, you'd see me there. Okaburra might surprise you. He might apologize as well. Well, we'll see. All I know is, we've got bigger fish to fry tomorrow than... Yeah. It's very true. Very true. And you need to be...
01:17:20
Speaker
at your very best, MacBenna. As you said, this is not my first time. This will most likely be the hardest battle you've yet to face. So all your training that you've had through the years, you need to hold that in your mind and you need to draw upon it and whatever fibrous strength you can draw upon for what's to come.
01:17:51
Speaker
for what it's worth. I'm glad you'll be there. Thanks, Drago. It feels right to do this, to have a chance to make a difference, to do something right by the world. So who knows if it's meant to be, it's meant to be and whatever comes out, comes out.
01:18:17
Speaker
There is glory in battle. My father always believed it. I still do. I'll just fight, best I can, until I can't. And then that'll be that. Ah, cheers to that. Indeed. And then after just a few more moments of silence, Dragon's going to put down his glass.
01:18:46
Speaker
Right, there's some stuff I need to do. Can you just keep an eye on Ren for us? I assume you've told the last she shouldn't be coming with us, right? Yeah. For what good that will do, I don't know. I mean, if she's anything like what you were telling me about Robin in your stories, you know she's going to choose to come, right?
01:19:11
Speaker
It's the fact they wanted to take her for her magic. I didn't tell her that part. There's an ulterior motive here that involves her. I totally agree with you. Whatever they're doing is going to take some great magics. And from my experience, great magics and blood magic go hand in hand. And if they can tap her to do what they have to do,
01:19:41
Speaker
You were doing so well. You were going on, going on, going on. Then she would be the prime candidate to sacrifice. It's a worry that I have.
01:20:02
Speaker
Me asking her to go is all I can do. I wouldn't listen to me. I don't expect her to. But it's all I can do. I'll keep an eye on her, make sure she doesn't go wandering off, don't worry. I appreciate it. And Drag is going to finish his drink and then kind of leave out the room. And so this leads me to the nighttime activity of
01:20:30
Speaker
Knowing how much rest I need and I will take that rest when I'm reached the limits of what I can do in this kind of short window. Jaga is going to go back down to the city and.
01:20:45
Speaker
help where he can with the dead and pass them their souls through to Akiva. So, he's doing Akiva's work here and he's communing with Akiva and he's just the amulet's glowing red all the time. It's almost like a scene from Final Fantasy X in some ways. So, in that small window, there's hundreds of people. So, whatever the number in the tens until he knows that, alright, because he knows that the battle tomorrow
01:21:15
Speaker
or whenever it is, is going to be pretty hefty. He's not going to miss out on sleep, but he is going to do what he can until he reaches a time where he's just like, that's it. I've got to call it. Yeah. And as you do that, you do notice that many of the city seem to allow you to come in and cast whatever rights you are casting. It is a night for comfort, whether that's
01:21:45
Speaker
spiritual or any other means and some of the people who have lost people here seem quite happy for you to survey the battlefield and pick out those who were yuan-ti, pick out those who were innocent bystanders alike and allow you to do this act of transformation. It's one of the most peaceful
01:22:16
Speaker
yet sombre and serene moments that you've probably ever had and for the first time it is you doing actions that
01:22:29
Speaker
you know Claude would do. And that's not actions necessarily within combat or actions within passing on advice. Much of what you have done tonight, of being the one who goes around, offers a sage word, tries to make cooler heads prevail, tries to see the bigger picture, tries to remain focused to task, and then as well offers this moment of spiritual healing or comfort
01:22:59
Speaker
to those who need it. It's the closest you felt to embodying what Claude stood for and what Akiva stood for. This is who Drago is now. And as you're doing that, a figure comes up to you and looks at you and says, well met.
01:23:32
Speaker
My name is, sorry, my name is Brea, and I couldn't help but... You're Drago, aren't you? Yes. He's going to start to remove a shawl from around his neck. Oh no, okay. And what you see are a series of tattoos. Tattoos that you have seen before.
01:23:58
Speaker
from an acolyte of Claude, or an acolyte of Akiva, I should say. He has the same markings that you saw on Claude after he'd shaved off his beard. I am an acolyte of Akiva. It was I who prayed to him to return you to Eryth. Right. We have some things to discuss, I feel.
01:24:28
Speaker
Yes, I agree. And Drago will gesture to the devastation around him. I would love to talk about it. Maybe you can help me here.

Conclusion and Audience Engagement

01:24:45
Speaker
And then we can talk. Or we can talk while doing. As Akiva would want, letters about the business.
01:24:58
Speaker
of transcending these people to where they need to be. I'm not ignoring you. Okay. And as you watch this figure start to, in a similar fashion to you, walk up to corpses, say a quick prayer to Akiva, we'll pick up with this and many other next thing and many other things the next time on the fellowship of the tabletop.
01:25:29

before the storm. Ooh, baby. Ooh, child. Mama. Ooh, donkey. Oh, donkey. Oh, donkey. Man, that was a good one. I better think of something to say to end this thing, because no one else is saying anything. Darren, well played. Thank you. Good stuff. Good stuff.
