Introduction and Praise for Zencastr

00:00:00
Speaker
You know, sometimes, when I kick back, after a long, hard day of killing, I like to talk about it, but I've got no one to listen to. So recently, I started my own podcast, Drago Dribbles. Even though I know nothing about podcasting, I've found the best browser software to help.
00:00:26
Speaker
It makes it easy for me to record studio quality sound and up to 4K video with your guests, which I'm going to be trying out because I am shockingly beautiful.
00:00:40
Speaker
I feel a sense of Zen, knowing Zencaster's multi-layered backups ensure I always have the recordings in the highest quality, even if the connection is unstable. Robin has the worst connection, he is lagging all the time just like he does when he takes a shot with his bow.

Characters of The Fellowship of the Tabletop

00:03:04
Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop, Madame Draconis. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set in the magical homebrood world of Erith in the Kingdom of Sleekguard. Joining you for this week's episode, we have Willy who plays the Dragonborn druid Balvalcon. Oh shit. We've got Ian who plays the Tiefling Wasseroy, Nyx Karel. Oh shit. Darronee isn't here unfortunately, but we have Willy who plays the King of Cleron, Emron.
00:03:28
Speaker
This may not have gone exactly the way I pictured it. Now let me place the warforged child of his alpha. Oh shit! My name is Mark and I'm playing the human blade singer Seth

D&D Story: Tensions and Emron's Speech

00:03:39
Speaker
Farover. And my last but my name's least is the controller of the scene behind the DM screen, the leader of lore, the DMD of D&D, Dandromaster Danny. Shiza!
00:03:52
Speaker
We see old gal staring deeply into the orb with just a large forehead vein pulsing as his whole body starts to shake and quiver as a red mist seems to haze upon his face as he looks up at you.
00:04:10
Speaker
Oooh, double snout! The prisoner darts and paralyzes Rains as soon as he gets back to the camp. That's a bit fucked up. And there's a lot of questions are done, indeed, neither answering. Emron and Alpha, they, uh...
00:04:26
Speaker
They go find out that this here prisoner, his name is Key, Dark Burtshadow, he turns out to be some sort of shady secret agent that Rains's granddaddy is sending out on the loose, he's not a very nice person. Tension rises within the group as the blame game is played, and perspective is key, says Alpha. Emron convincingly settles the argument and finishes it with a vermin statement that everybody needs to stay together.
00:04:57
Speaker
Ball speaks to the elephant and names him Trunks on account of that elephant's massive penis. Emron loots a bitch and finds a little note saying, bring it home. I don't care about casualties. Last we heard Goldview, they crossed over into the desert place and puts two and two together and thinks that's probably Alpha. And then Emron, you know, after that barement speech that I done did mention,

Arrest and Interaction with Dribbo

00:05:21
Speaker
About sticking together, he fucks off into town! And decides to bring Nix with him and go to the tall house and find Gelnoth. And as they get to the tall house, Emron is very quickly told that there is an arrest warrant out for the group, and he is threatened to be arrested alongside Nix. Basically he's given an ultimatum. You be detained or you fuck off.
00:05:44
Speaker
Emron mentions Nix's name, which gets recognized and lands himself in the shit again, so they both go and get themselves detained in individual cells. Emron is told, hey, you don't need to be detained here, you can fuck off, so he does. And turns out Nix's cellmate is some sort of muscly, green, hunky dragonborn. But it don't happen like that, he just says, well fuck, what you done did, Corel?
00:06:13
Speaker
So we find ourselves in this very interesting situation where Emron, alone in the dead of night, replaying what I'd like to think. You know that TikTok audio that goes, shit, shit, shit. And it's Emron speaking to Tilwa, speaking to your deva. And you three have realized how much you just fucked up. Snoring away.
00:06:38
Speaker
We find Seth, we find Baal, we found Rains, Alfred sort of just doing some light activity. But let's start with Nyx. Nyx, you find yourself inside this cell. This green dragonborn has just, from across the corridor, arms through, said what he said, and just looks at you with complete disappointment. What do you want to do?
00:07:07
Speaker
As your eyes are now sort of adjusting to this dark vision. Do I recognize this dragonborn that clearly knows me? Make a perception check. Oh, please be good. Please, please, please, please, please be good. Okay. That's not bad. 21. No. I've never seen his face before in your life.
00:07:34
Speaker
Uh, clearly reputation precedes me here. Uh, I'm afraid I, although you know my name, I'm on the unfortunate position of not knowing yours or may perhaps forgotten it.
00:07:51
Speaker
to which I profusely apologize. I understand it. You are supposed to be escorting me to scorch home in the morning. How will you do that inside this cell? Ah! Ah! Well, I'm glad that you mentioned that because clearly you are the prisoner and I was just, I'll be honest with you, I fucked up. This is a massive, chaotic... I thought you did. I thought you fucked up. I thought that's what this was. This didn't seem planned.
00:08:20
Speaker
No, not my plan, but... Do you make the plans? Are you the plan maker? I bet you're not. I'm put on the back foot by how quick you speak.
00:08:33
Speaker
That's weird. No, I'm part of the committee of plan making. I have a voice, sometimes it gets heard, sometimes it doesn't. In this case, it was heard, probably not for good reasons. I was led to believe you were one super solid unit that would know exactly what to do to get me safely to Scorch Helm. It doesn't sound like that's quite what's going on.
00:09:01
Speaker
Now, wow, hey, this is fortuitous because one, it's really good to meet you. As you said, I'm Nyx Carell and Nyx does a little bow. And the good thing is here. Everyone's going to pick you up tomorrow. We're going to come pick you up and and they'll be able to pick me up as well. And I'm going to pick you. You're going to be here for weeks.
00:09:25
Speaker
Do you know how long I've been here? I have been here for about a month. So what's your name and story then if you've been here about a month?

Dribbo's Importance and Mission Revelation

00:09:34
Speaker
Like what did you do to land yourself here? I am not supposed to tell anyone except my name's Dribbo. That's a really shit name. Are you sure? I'm sure. Dribbo the Dragonborn you call me Dribbo. Dribbo it is then. How fortuitous though that you're the prisoner that we're coming to collect.
00:09:56
Speaker
Is it? Is it fortuitous? I think so. I think it's fate. It's destiny. Is it? Can you explain what else it is? Just a series of small... I have some words. I have some words. No, no, no. Hear me out. This has just happened from a series of small decisions that I did not foresee coming. And now,
00:10:19
Speaker
I'm in the presence of my objective in the first place before anyone else. And I can get the lowdown on who you are. This is great. This is amazing. In fact, this is, this is rather day making. Okay. I was led to believe you are meant to know nothing about me. Now this is twice you've said that you're led to believe something about me. Who gave you this information? Hmm.
00:10:49
Speaker
And you hear this in your mind, not audibly. Chat name Sparrowhawk, I think I said his name was. Are you in his mind now? Is he like a friend or is a patron, a colleague? Let's go with annoying acquaintance. Right.
00:11:19
Speaker
And he wants you busted out? Yes. So you're obviously quite important. Yes. Very important. I am one of the most important people in all of Aerith. Insight check on that using my own fucking spin of yarn. You can't see much of him. It's dark. So disadvantage on the insight check. Of course. It's not going to be good. It's 12. You believe him.
00:11:48
Speaker
Obviously you're very important. Why else would you be locked away? They lock away only important people. I know this myself. Do you know anything about what's happening tomorrow? Yes, you and your friends are taking me to Scorch Elm.

Questioning the Mission's Success

00:12:05
Speaker
Brilliant, there you go. See, Savvy, it'll be fine. It's going to go without a hitch. I'm like a canary in the mind. Sometimes you just don't know what's going to happen and hostile the environment is. So you send in like the canary. And a lot of people think that the canary is the most important part of it, because if the canary comes up dead, then no one else has to die. But if the canary comes up alive, everyone's going to be safe. So they've sent me, as the canary in the mind saw to say,
00:12:32
Speaker
And a small decisions that kind of led along this way wasn't like one massive decisions not like someone around the table when you know next you're gonna be the canary in the mind in this case it was more like a small step in stone to finding out i'm the canary in the mind but as i said it's quite true just because i get to see you and know where you are and then when our group comes in i can assume they get close enough be able to help them from afar i'm quite powerful so this will be fine this is really good
00:13:03
Speaker
I don't understand. I'm the canary in the mine. That's why I'm here. Why would they need to put another canary in the mine? I thought you were the dragonborn in the mine. So the canary doesn't really work with you so much. But why? What? Why do you need to connect? I can I can metaphor with the best of them, but you are losing yourself.
00:13:21
Speaker
not really why are you the canary in the mine i know why i'm here the man how i came to be the man would you come to be here the mine is the obcisca i am anti-obcisca i am in the obcisca place i am canary in mine you are who are you reporting you up to canary feed in the mine feeding me
00:13:43
Speaker
Okay, I hope I taste nice and I sustain. I'll find out. Okay, there now. Let's calm yourself, Dragonborn. I haven't eaten in weeks, so... Well, I have friends who are Dragonborns that, you know, they're no offense, but they look far more powerful than you do, so... Try it. Oh, no, no, no. I'm just saying, like, if you... I don't know. But anyway.
00:14:09
Speaker
You're the canary in the mind for a group of people, a person, a company? Yep. Cool. Well, if you've been told that the group that I travel with will get you out, they will get you out.
00:14:34
Speaker
Okay, I don't understand your methods, but I'll go with it. I've been to lots of places the last couple of months, and this is at least somewhat understandable. I'll go with it. Okay. And you're not going to fancy telling me why you're the prize? No. If you don't already know that, you're not supposed to know it. Cool. Do you have any cards?
00:15:02
Speaker
No, I'm not allowed anything. I'm actually not really allowed to speak that much. So if they find me speaking, we're in trouble. I mean, telepathically, I think we're doing all right. Yes. Facially, you can hide it a little bit more if you don't mind me saying, not that I'm the most experienced magic user, but you're moving your eyebrows a little bit too much. They could tell that, you know, there may be a conversation going on in your mind right there, but they might just think that you're a little bit crazy and talking to yourself. That's fine. My face is placid. It's just a blank canvas.
00:15:33
Speaker
Maybe you could try. I don't know. I could teach you. I used to be an actor or still am an actor in some ways. I am very good at performing. This is cute. This is cute. You don't need to do that. I am one of the best actors in all of Aerith. Get out. Have you been in anything I would have seen? Yes. Like what? I can't tell you. Right. Have you heard of a play, Everything Will Kill You, a True Under Goblin Story? Yes, who wrote that?
00:15:59
Speaker
You wrote that? No. I thought you said you wrote that. No, who wrote that? That was my dear old captain, actually, Captain Esmeralda. No, Captain Hildegard. He grunts the Esmeralda. I eat grunts like him for breakfast. Now, steady on. He would hang draw and call you. Didn't he die? Isn't he dead? I think he died. No, he's wanted. No, he's in prison. Yes, he's also in prison.
00:16:30
Speaker
Insight check again. Go for it. Is that disadvantage? No disadvantage, your eyes were just adjusted at this point. Bollocks and arse, it's five! On a straight roll. Straight roll. You believe him? Fuck! How? Who? Where is he? Score check, I think, last time I heard. In prison. Do you know anything about his ship? Where that's docked? Where it was last seen? No.
00:17:00
Speaker
Anyone of the crew? Couldn't give a shit about ships. Not for me. The crew, I don't know who they are. But that guy, yeah, he's in prison. He's probably a slave by now. They don't keep prison as long in Drownock. It's a waste of people. He's alive. Eh, could do. Could be. Who cares? He's a slave now. I care. Uh, okay.
00:17:28
Speaker
Well, I'm gonna go and just sit down and... Why are you in prison? Why are they shut you in? What did you do? You know, I don't really know, being honest with you, how I ended up here.
00:17:55
Speaker
but you've kind of just given me like a massive migraine with the previous conversation. I'm just gonna sit down.

Emron's Reflection and Seeking Guidance

00:18:05
Speaker
You can talk the talk, but you can't listen the listen. It's interesting. So many words, but not so much space to hear. I like it. You're all about you. I can sense it. You're a you guy. Yeah, you know, I'm just letting your words kind of flow in and out at the moment. Many do. I'm quite the wordsmith.
00:18:26
Speaker
What's your name, Dribble? No, it is Dribbo. Dribbo. Pleasure to meet you, Dribbo. I'm just gonna... I'm a dragonborn. Look at all these teeth, and he just sort of gestures side to side and shows off quite significant fangs. Can I cut this communication somehow in my mind? Is there a way to block this out? Yep, maybe, but I'll just use my voice.
00:18:59
Speaker
OK, OK, well, I mean, you keep talking. I'm going to just say I haven't spoken in six months. This is fantastic for me. Yeah. I mean, can I read you some poetry? I've been working on it. I don't think I have a choice here. I'm going to read you some of my poetry. OK.
00:19:21
Speaker
And as the camera zooms out of this prison cell through the one. I got out next. What the fuck? Oh yeah. We're just going to loop back to Emron, who now stands with your friend incarcerated behind you. Your other friends expecting you all to be there when they wake up. Emron, what are you doing right now? Regretting life choices. Um,
00:19:52
Speaker
Those horns look like handlebars. Sorry listeners, we have a chat obviously and everyone's having a whale at a time and how quickly uncomfortable Nick's got there, but fucking Baal has written those horns look like good handlebars. You said there were no, as we traveled through
00:20:21
Speaker
through the town and to the top that I saw no Chris ground about. No. No, not at all. Okay. Head back to camp via the temple. Okay. So it takes about 20 minutes to get to the center of town and then you're at that temple building. Yeah.
00:20:45
Speaker
the familiar sort of black stone steps that you have to sort of traverse up to two levels above the sands where you've emporium. And then, yeah, you're into that same hall again, if you wish to, you're at that door. Is it open? Yep. This is the divine refuge. It's always open as you see it. And the same aged individual sits at a desk in the middle of this long chamber before these five anti-chambers appear around him.
00:21:19
Speaker
Hello. Oh, you're back. I didn't mean to wake you. More than welcome, please. Elito again? Yeah, I need to... I may have done something quite wrong. It made things a lot more difficult than I meant them to be. Who left here this morning with a sense of renewed purpose?
00:21:49
Speaker
It fills my heart heavily to know that that's backtracked some much. Allow me to get the door for you and he sort of steps down and opens the door to the Alito Shrine. I was trying to find Captain Galenoth and it didn't go well. Anyway, thank you. Everyone's going to go into the shrine. Please let me know if you need counsel.
00:22:20
Speaker
Yeah, that would help, actually. I'm quite familiar. Begin your prayer and I shall listen. And he sort of walks into the chamber and he kneels alongside the sort of iconography that exists in that space and just waits for you. It's been a long time since off. When I encounter Captain Galoth out in the road, he wielded power of
00:22:50
Speaker
Alito and he questioned whether I was traveling with the right people and doing the right thing. And I thought that the only way I was going to get answers was to talk to him about why he thought that and to find more answers. I've encountered things and seen things that don't make sense.
00:23:21
Speaker
And I thought if I could get some understanding from him, it might just help me understand what to do. I've seen a CRISPR captain turn into a thing. I don't understand it.
00:23:46
Speaker
Perhaps Alito puts you on this path not to know the answers now, but to find them when the time is right. Yep. And then, in trying to find the captain, I've gone and got one of, well, a friend locked in prison in the turtle house.
00:24:17
Speaker
Perhaps he is meant to be there. Or perhaps this is your means of atonement from transgressing or deviating from Alito's path. Yeah, I just wish that captain spoke with such and wielded Alito's power with such a connection.
00:24:47
Speaker
And don't get me wrong, Alito's connection has always been, well, he answers my prayers and so I feel blessed by that. I think many who follow Alito expect him to be louder than he is. Yeah, I do.
00:25:16
Speaker
His silence, his silence is important. I do not believe he claims omnipotence. I do not believe he has divine purpose for all who follow him, just as he ascended as a mere mortal.
00:25:47
Speaker
I think he encourages others to find their path rather than prescribe it for them. He does. He asks us to be the best of what we can be. I've always striven to be that. And now there's so much that's been thrust upon me that I just don't know. I'm not who I am. Time.
00:26:17
Speaker
Time will always tell. If you are thinking too much and wanting too much, it will feel overwhelming. Have you ever encountered someone who, I don't know, is connected to angels or celestials?
00:26:48
Speaker
Yes. Did they know they were one? Some. People share forms more often than you think. Is someone who has an angelic body any dissimilar than one who can turn into a sparrow?
00:27:17
Speaker
It's true. We have multiple forms. We have multiple forms even by not shape shifting. To some you will share love, to some you will share hatred. Your form, your form is not the only thing that defines your relationship to
00:27:48
Speaker
to him. No, you're right. You're right. What stone is done? Time to try and make it right or follow the path that's laid out. Thank you. You are welcome.
00:28:19
Speaker
And then everyone will, you know, kneel for a minute and contemplate and pay homage to Alito and, you know, remember the words that he's heard, you know, in snatched sort of meetings in, you know, vaulted roofs in shadow and, you know, where gatherings of Alito follows would be as it wasn't the main religion.
00:28:54
Speaker
Thank you, priest, you've... Thank you. What are your next steps? Where will your feet take you? To go back to the rest of my group, to my friends, tell them what I've done or what's happened, and work out how we can do right by what's been done. Further than that,
00:29:22
Speaker
I do not see you spending the rest of your years in Snakerun. Scorchel. You should seek the Temple of Alito in Scorchel. You say you are from somewhere where Alito worship is not prevalent. I'd argue in Dralak.
00:29:50
Speaker
Alido is the most worshiped God of all. For it was in this kingdom Alido ascended. Did he really? Yes. That's comforting, I suppose in a way. Then perhaps by the very nature of you being in Dralak you are doing Alido's bidding. He has brought you closer to him
00:30:23
Speaker
He has. And I will keep listening because I feel like either he or whatever I'm linked to is trying to tell me something. I will listen. I walk his path and do what must be done. And you must be patient. He is the quietest of all the gods, for he is the youngest.
00:30:53
Speaker
patience that's good that's good okay thank you again for everything he nods and returns to his desk and then we'll just pause in that silence for a minute plates his hand upon the the the idol that he created
00:31:28
Speaker
and say, Alito, I walk your path if that is what you wish. And Tilwar, if you can hear, I'm listening for your guidance and your help. And then he leaves.
00:32:00
Speaker
Just as you go to leave, the chamber illuminates in light temporarily. Not a blinding light, not a huge light, but there is an uplift. And it continues to be highly illuminated until you exit. Okay.
00:32:28
Speaker
Do I see where it's coming from? Is it just a room just like it? The sconces on the wall, the reflections of the fire on the altar, the iconography that's around, the reflections in the dark stone, just everything seems to have been pulled up on the dimmers.
00:32:58
Speaker
I hear you. And everyone will leave the room. And make way back to camp? Yes, come back to camp. It takes about 15 minutes to do so. And you arrive at a snoring bowl and Seth, but an alpha who was doing some evening preparations. Albert, it is now your watch. Everyone is returning. Everyone you'll need to sleep in order to fulfill the requirements of this long rest.
00:33:27
Speaker
Emra, you return alone. I've messed up. OK, how so? It's complicated. Nyx is in prison. Oh. Well, that is an unexpected response. But I'm going to rest. I know what I've done. I know we need to make good by it.
00:33:57
Speaker
So are we leaving him here? Well I'm hoping that when we pick up our prisoner that we can get him as well. A two for one deal? A two for one deal is probably... yeah. I fucked up Alfred.
00:34:17
Speaker
Well, not to drive home a previous point, but with you and Nix wandering off while everybody else was resting, it does kind of have similarities as to what happened this prior evening. I know. And I shouldn't have taken Nix with me. I should have just gone myself. Ideally, you shouldn't have gone by yourself either.
00:34:40
Speaker
This is exactly the kind of action that seems to be splitting up and separating the party. Yeah, you're right. We are strongest as a unit. Yep. No denying that. Right, I'm gonna get some rest. I'll be the one to tell him. Let me explain in the morning.
00:35:10
Speaker
Very well. And everyone goes to sleep. Then Alpha, the remainder of the watch from about 3 AM to sunrise is yours. Is there anything you want to do with it? Do you want to go on an escapade to fuck up the party? Because everyone else has done that.
00:35:32
Speaker
Well, I kind of want to go into the prison and break nicks out. Solo. Yeah, solo mission. Let's go for it. Splinter sell the shit up. Now, all Alf was going to do, he's maintaining a steady eye. He's very confused about the evening, but he had spent a bit of the night just kind of carving iconic symbols on a couple of items that he's got. So the boomerang that he got from Marota.
00:36:00
Speaker
that's like some conjuration and abjuration symbols engraved onto it. And he's done the same with the jug he purchased from Rolo previously. Aside from that, he spends a bit of time just kind of staring at the prisoner in the wagon contemplating the possibility of certain actions. But
00:36:27
Speaker
probably resists them for now as he looks on at a still paralyzed Reins, thinking it is appropriate to at least rate until Reins is unparallized before progressing with any further action. Okay. And you spend the rest of your watch sort of drawing your attention between Reins and thinking about the sort of situation you found yourself in and how broken things feel right now.
00:37:00
Speaker
And before you know it, dawn breaks. We're going to pause at the party moment. Nick, you don't sleep quite quickly. After a couple hours of Dribbough's poetry, Dribbough falls asleep through his own volition. And you just see that single light source of the object in the sky be met by the rising dawn.
00:37:27
Speaker
And literally, at that moment, the dawn strikes. You hear boots moving outside your cell. And four figures, very heavily clad in this black armor with the criss-cross ashes, sort of walk into the jail. And you're thrown a sack. And one of the figures just says, put this on.
00:37:55
Speaker
Say nothing or I'll shank you. And do you? Buy a sack over my head type deal. Yeah. Is this absolutely necessary?
00:38:24
Speaker
Do this way or I'll blind you with my knife. Okay, yeah, so I'm gonna take that as a yes. If I say I have severe claustrophobia, doesn't do anything. I don't give a shit. Cool, didn't think so, just wondered. Yeah, I'll put this on then. It's a shame. I got one, I got one. Yes, yes, I'll put it on. What about my horns though, do they? It's a big sack, it's a big sack.
00:38:54
Speaker
put this on and seconds later you just hear the clanging of iron and then you feel two very heavy gauntleted hands on your chest pull you out of this cell and you are transported not magically but you are like lifted off the ground and you just hear
00:39:14
Speaker
in both ears, sort of a stereo of clanking iron as you are rushed through halls. You feel like you're outside for a moment, then you are inside, then you go downstairs and you feel that pressure change and all the time you're sort of sensing four different very
00:39:30
Speaker
hulking bodies around you as you thrust corridor to corridor. This carries on about 15-20 minutes of just constant turning and all you're hearing is their clanking of their iron and then echoes down very long chambers of that same sound just reverberating back until eventually you are stopped and thrust into the stone room. One table, two chairs, one single
00:39:56
Speaker
candelabrum in the middle under this black stone everywhere. The door slams behind you. You still have this sack on, but you can see this little light coming through. It's sort of like a Hessian hemp. So, you know, there's gaps for light. What would you like to do? Guys? Anyone?
00:40:27
Speaker
Any sound? I'm listening really hard. Is there any sound? Any rustling of clothes? You hear scuff or boots? Yeah, you hear steps on stone. Not as heavily clad, but you hear like a heel. And then a voice. Take a seat.
00:40:53
Speaker
Is that the voice that I know? It's the voice of the voice. It's the voice. Yeah. Don't recognize his voice. Oh, I got ahead of myself. Uh, I can't take a seat. I can't see. Take the bag off. Very well. Thank you. Next we'll take the bag off. Who am I looking at? You see this, um, incredibly beautiful.
00:41:22
Speaker
female tiefling blue of skin horns that don't sort of match yours and go vertical horns that sort of sweep back almost like a completely slicked back hair that sort of pull back over her head and follow her hairline she's wearing this incredibly impressive plate armor on the chest but it sort of thins out and then she has these sort of exposed heels where she's walking around and she just slowly a couple of fingers on the table
00:41:53
Speaker
walks across, pulls out a chair and sits it herself and then raises both of her feet in a very relaxed fashion onto the table itself and leans back in her chair and just waves at you with her hand again. Take a seat. Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. Good idea. Ah, take that seat.
00:42:19
Speaker
Next we'll go to the chair, pull it out. Not taking his eyes off this wonderfully described tiefling and kind of sit down and try and imitate the kind of same sort of relaxed position, but feet on the opposite corner of the desk.
00:42:42
Speaker
ass hits the chair seat. I need you to make a constitution saving for it, please. Fuck me, I just got absolutely done, didn't I? Completely. Yep, that's a four. My roles. You feel this coldness from the chair and the middle of when you sit down, you feel like you're not comfortable. And as you go to sort of adjust your position, you can't move.
00:43:13
Speaker
And then you try and focus on your hands that just went down to sort of lift you. You can't move those hands. You're sort of sat there with your hands by your hips, uncomfortable in this chair. This chair that has, since you've sat in it, almost gone smaller in size, so you don't quite fit on it properly. And then the back of the chair sort of pushes quite aggressively into your spine and your lumbar is sort of pulled almost 90 degrees.
00:43:42
Speaker
from whatever the part of the vertebrae is that sits above the lumbar. Anyone who knows anatomy can help me out here. And you're unable to look away from her. You're almost like drawn in entirely. She's incredibly beautiful. And that is really hard for you to shake off.
00:44:05
Speaker
and you can't move any part of your body. You're just fixated on her. Even blinking doesn't seem to respond. And after a few minutes, you feel your tear duct start to really become sore because you can't blink. You move your eye, you move your mouth, but just so much of your faculties aren't there. It's funny. I thought you'd be older.
00:44:34
Speaker
Well, how old are you? Can I talk? Yeah. You say the fact, yeah. Yeah. It's not a question you should ask a lady. True. Forgive me, but you bought the age thing into it. I'm just wondering how should I be in your eyes? Anyone who goes around full naming themselves as regularly as you do. Well, I just thought they'd be older.
00:45:03
Speaker
and taller and broader and cuter. Wow. There are a lot of attacks against my character there. All in one sentence. Uh, hmm. Okay. Why am I here? I mean, not that I'm complaining your vision, but still stands the question. Why am I here? Because you're getting in the way.
00:45:33
Speaker
of you, the aquispaker. All of it. Just in general, just getting away. Okay, well, no offense. I've heard this a lot in my life. Is there any specifics? I think you know.
00:45:58
Speaker
It's amazing how many people assume that I have prior knowledge to things. Imagine for one moment, if you will, that I don't have any knowledge on what's going on outside of a boat. Like, how am I getting in the way? Probably more importantly, what does that mean for me right now?
00:46:26
Speaker
She produces from underneath the table a series of documents. She has them both in her hands. Throws one onto the table. Gold view. Throws another one. Our trading post. With the eggs. Throws another one. The road south of here.
00:46:55
Speaker
You're becoming a problem. Can I ask just one very blanket question? I mean, if you answer, honestly, top marks, if you don't, that's kind of what I'm expecting, but you might subvert it. Are you the bad guys? No. What are you then? Like, I see that you keep tabs on my whereabouts. I assume not just myself, but we'll focus on me.
00:47:26
Speaker
Like the dragon eggs, like that's suspicious as fuck, really. You don't know what you're involving yourself in. I think that's pretty clear, yeah. I would suggest, and this is the only time you're getting this warning. Okay. You just give up on what grandiose idea you have.
00:47:51
Speaker
on meddling yourself in things that are just way, way above your comprehension. I could kill you, make this really easy, but we're not about that. I could silence you, and I would like to. We're not about that. You and a lot of people, again, another thing I heard. I could offer you something you'll probably take. I could let you go. I mean,
00:48:21
Speaker
Usually that comes with a cost. It does. Yeah. Here's the thing. Okay. We're trying to save Aerith from something you cannot comprehend. Okay. Okay. Well, let's see now. This is what I've been hearing. Uh, forgive me.
00:48:41
Speaker
That kind of subverts a lot of the knowledge of the chrisca that's out there in like parts of the world and the general view on what you guys do. And then as I've gotten deeper, rightfully so, not through my own kind of want or desire, but I have, as I found myself getting deeper into the different societies, specifically yours,
00:49:07
Speaker
I found that it's not as light and dark. There's a lot of grey. I'm trying to make head of tailors to what you guys are about. And you sit here opposite me and you put me in this chair, which by the way, you need to take out back to the manufacturer because it's fucking killing me.
00:49:30
Speaker
And you're saying that you want to save Aerith. Like that's a good thing. Like that's awesome. How am I getting in the way? It's very worrying to be told that I'm getting in the way of saving Aerith. You just don't stop asking questions. It's a character flaw.
00:49:57
Speaker
you and your little team of buddies okay so we do know about some beard buddies look I report to one guy and he is they are well if you don't know is if you don't know general geldof know he
00:50:24
Speaker
reports to me. Oh. Oh. There's a guard outside who's like really upset that she's not higher up. It's this. It's this. It's this talking. It needs to stop. It's the probing that you all are doing. It needs to stop.
00:50:44
Speaker
And if you are so gracious to let me go as a messenger to my friends, who should I say is telling us to stop? Like you've been so high up and everything. It'd be really good to have a name to this face that could launch 100,000 ships. My name is General Deltus.
00:51:15
Speaker
That's really cool. Have you got a first name? You will never learn that. I mean, okay. Here's the thing. Jen? Jen, Jen, deltas. No, general is a rank. Jen could still be your first name. It isn't. Okay. Here's the thing.
00:51:44
Speaker
You're gonna stop prying in whatever it is you think we're about. It's wrong. You haven't got the right end of the stick. I do not have the patience to tell you any more than that. What you are gonna do is you're gonna go with your little band of play buddies, you're gonna leave here, and you're gonna stop finding yourself meddled in our affairs.
00:52:13
Speaker
Is that clear? You're going to stop thinking, what are the YpKriskra doing right now? You're going to stop asking questions. You're going to stop with all of this idea that you have any, any ounce of ability to change what is happening in the world. You are tiny. You are nothing compared to what is coming.
00:52:35
Speaker
To elaborate on that, I absolutely agree with you. I am very wee in this big situation and also not that intelligent. I think that there's many people out there that would clarify that. So really, I wouldn't put great expectation or hope on us or me in particular, because I am so out of my depth.
00:53:02
Speaker
I'm just trying to figure out what's going on. You don't need to figure that out. Remove yourself from any sort of solution it's being dealt with. But what's being dealt with? It's not for you to know. You clearly see that I find myself in these larger than life situations. She raises a hand.
00:53:29
Speaker
and you were unable to speak. And every time you attempt to, and you've done it once, you take two points of necrotic damage. That's enough now. You have two options. You have three. One, actually. Telepathically, Lincoln.
00:53:58
Speaker
Yes. Yes, you can. There's many ways that I can speak. Question is still valid. What are you trying to save everyone from? And I'll back away. And I'll go and I'll do what you're asking me to do. And I'll tell I'll tell the group that I'm with. But they're going to ask the same question as like,
00:54:24
Speaker
What are you saving us from? Cause I've just already told you that there's light and dark and gray in the of Chris go. And I was very much like she stands. She stands now. She draws a very long, thin rapier and presses it across the six foot table into your shoulder blade, not piercing the skin, but you just feel like a needle, a very thick needle piercing in.
00:54:53
Speaker
Clever. I'm going to need you to stop that. You've got three options. One, I drive this blade through your chest. Two, you leave here and you and your group never utter the word of kriscra again. Or three.
00:55:22
Speaker
I'm going to leave here with a bag of 5,000 gold pieces. You're going to take that bag. Inside is another thing that you are going to take and it's going to stay on your person indefinitely. Nope, you're not going to speak.
00:55:52
Speaker
I am going to walk towards the door. If you stand, I will drive this blade through your chest. If you remain seated, I'll assume you're taking two or three. She pulls the blade point away from you. Sheaves it.
00:56:19
Speaker
and slowly walks towards the door. You're really attractive. She doesn't respond. Places a hand on the handle, opens it, and exits. In front of you sits a huge coin pouch. Or the door now opens a jar.
00:56:56
Speaker
What do you do next? The chair itself is giving the... the thing that was causing you to freeze... stops. Right, right. What just happened? I... God damn it! How do I find myself in these situations? Option one.
00:57:25
Speaker
Stabby, I've subverted that. Good job, good job, Nix. Option two, go and tell everyone that we gotta stop doing what we're doing. Option three, take a bag of money and somebody stays on my person and I don't know if that also means that I have to tell everyone or if it's like option three and I don't have to tell everyone. Because I feel like option two, I have to tell everyone and everyone's just gonna go,
00:57:53
Speaker
Fuck it, we're going to do it our way anyway. And I'll just be like, yeah, who am I to say no? This room, is it like completely sealed just with the door? It's like one of those police interrogation rooms that's just blank with one way out. If I peek into the bag, what's the thing look like? What's the whatever it is that stays on my purse? Just a big old purse of gold.
00:58:22
Speaker
More gold than you've ever seen in one sitting because I think you didn't, your share of the roper wasn't this much. I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do.
00:58:56
Speaker
Is there any guards or anyone? Not inside. The door is ajar and open. You expect there's probably someone out there. Anyone outside? That could hurt that and could infer what option three versus option two. Like if I took option three, would I still have to do option two? Would I still have to tell them?
00:59:22
Speaker
Or is it a get out clause? Like you take the gold and run. No response. I don't like it. I don't trust it. Who the fuck are these guys? I'm kind of.
00:59:45
Speaker
I'm going to leave the fucking gold. That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to tell him and that will adhere to option two and then
00:59:57
Speaker
That's a tick. That's a tick. I did what she asked. Tell your friends to stop meddling. And I don't, she can't expect that I have any power. She's so clearly she, she sees me as a tiny. So, so there's no way she can, she could be too pissed when they all turn around and say, fuck you, Nix, you're crazy again. Yes.
01:00:24
Speaker
Yes, I'm going to do that. I'm going to do that. I'm going to leave this. I'm going to leave this gold. Leave this gold. Leave this gold. Right here on the table. I'll just have a look. It does no harm to have a look. And Nix is going to use mage hat and pop out of his shoulder and mage hand is going to just go into the coin purse and kind of
01:00:55
Speaker
Kind of just kind of sift through it as if you're pushing your hands through deep sand and then you're holding up the sand to kind of see if there's anything that falls out of it. That's what's happening. So the purse itself is a magical item. So as your madchan goes in, you're expecting your mage hand to immediately be able to touch the bottom, it doesn't. It goes in and it is.
01:01:15
Speaker
It is like Mary Poppins bottomless bag. The beige hand just keeps going down and you just, I don't think you feel what it feels, but you're hearing clanging of gold coin for minutes as it's just sort of digging. That's a lot of coin. That's a lot of coin, but I'm going to be strong. Nick starts walking towards the door. Yeah, this is good. You're doing good, Nick. You're turning a new leaf. You're turning a new leaf. You got this. It's going to then turn around, walk back to the table.
01:01:46
Speaker
I mean, I, I could do both. I can do both. I can do both. I can, I can do this. Yeah. I mean, if I don't touch it, maybe not. And he sends his mage hand to pick up the coin bag and put it into his coat pocket. It was kind of, I'm halfway there. I didn't pick it. Yeah. Okay. So do, do I feel any different? I need you to add 5,000 gold pieces to your inventory. I need you to add.
01:02:17
Speaker
a bag of holding to your inventory. Yeah. And I need you to follow D100. Oh. Okay. How do you do that? I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it.
01:02:44
Speaker
That's a 72. 72. Need to open the second page. That's not good. That's not a good face. Why are you doing that face? That's not a good face. That's not a good face. You're aware of this.
01:03:17
Speaker
Because the condition means you are. You are to be ever scried upon. There is someone else always able to know exactly where you are, to see what you see, to hear what you hear. You don't know who's at the other end of that.
01:03:44
Speaker
There are now two powers that have that ability over you. Oh, fuck. And I know this, I know this has happened. Because the feeling you have for your patron feels like that's just duplicated. Well, good going, Nick. Just soul, just soul again. Hmm.
01:04:11
Speaker
think I need to tell the others about that one okay let's just get out of here and Nix is gonna gingerly walk out yes as you step out the door it then immediately slams just behind you and you feel that hood gets thrust upon your head again
01:04:30
Speaker
And those bodies pick you up. And there's that same route in reverse. And you are thrust this time out into the courtyard, out through the portcullis, and to that point where you last saw Emron exit. You are outside of the gates. It is dawn. And you see, just as you're coming out, a short glimpse of Dribbo being loaded into a portable cage just for a snapshot. And then you're there.
01:05:01
Speaker
How big's the cage that he's in? It's like a 10 foot by 10 foot cart. I can't do two things at once. Bollocks. You find yourself outside the tall house. Very rich.
01:05:17
Speaker
And we're gonna zoom back to the camp. Seth, Baal, Alpha, Emron, you begin to awaken. You notice that as you all begin to stretch out and come to, reigns has still remained in the same state of paralysis. Your stooge that you have tied up is waking also. And Trunks is beginning to just sort of stretch out for the morning. What do you guys wanna do? Noticing. Nyx is not around. It's quite prominent.
01:05:47
Speaker
I'm going to go over to Raines and just check him over and like lift an eyelid. And like, if I move my finger over his eyelid, is there pupil response or? No. Okay, so I can't even lift his eyelid or is his eyes open? Eyes are well open and they're becoming so bloodshot now for the fact that they've been open for about six hours. I'm going to put some water on them and close his eyelids.
01:06:15
Speaker
Yeah, you can close it. It takes a bit of forcing, like you have to really press to do it, but yes, you can. I'm going to come in and close his eyelids for him because, you know, that's not nice. Um, and just be like, don't rearrange. We've got this. Hurry back. And then he's going to stand up and rejoin the group as they awaken. Okay. Bow Seth alpha.
01:06:45
Speaker
Oh, I hate to go to bed on a fight. Oh, actually, sorry, Baal. Alpha, Emron, Seth, you're now level five. Thanks. It's okay. So at the end of the episode, you can tell us all about the level five stuff you've taken. But Baal, back to you.
01:07:13
Speaker
Where's Nix? Is he getting us some breakfast? I'm afraid Nix has been detained. Nix is in prison. Sorry, what? That was my response. Nix is in prison and... Yeah, just... We were supposed to bring a prisoner, not make a prisoner. We did bring a prisoner. We meant to get another one.
01:07:42
Speaker
So, why is he in jail now? I mean, Emron is aware of the situation. Please do enlighten us. Thanks, Helfer. I was gonna. But you know, now it looks like you're making me. So you're a bit of a dick move. So I went into town last night. After telling us not to swap anymore. Yes, exactly that.
01:08:09
Speaker
Alpha, not helping here. I said I'd tell her everything. So, you know, I went down because I wanted to try and find Captain Gelnoth. Just to get some answers. What about his hand? What the fuck could you possibly want with Gelnoth? About the chryscra, about are they all in on this dragon egg thing, about
01:08:32
Speaker
the way that the other captain turned into that creature, Seth, that we saw, and just to know... Just to try and get our own romances. Is Gelnot your best friend? No, but I was hoping that by appealing to his faith of Aledo that he would at least speak to me. Oh, fuck me, Emron.
01:08:58
Speaker
No, no, thank you. I'm all right. The offer is not on the table. What the fuck were you thinking? Well, a mistake was made and I admit that. I admit a mistake was made. I think we can choke last night off to a lot of mistakes on our last night. Oh yes, fuck it. Last night was just filled with mistakes. Nix is in jail. What do you mean jail? Where? We went to the tall house and... The fucking tall house!
01:09:27
Speaker
As in the Obciscra, fucking HQ of Snakerun is where Nick's currently is. Yes, the place we have to go to anyway to get our prisoner.
01:09:40
Speaker
Uh, we turned up and they weren't going to let us speak to captain girl. So they were going to get let us go. And then I called Nick's Nick's. And they then said that Nick's corral was under arrest. He couldn't leave now because apparently they apparently somebody wanted to speak with him or have a word with him. They wouldn't say who, uh, they walked his both into the prison. Um.
01:10:06
Speaker
And they said, are you staying or going to me? And then Nick's messaged me in my head saying, you don't have to stay here, go and tell the others what's happened. So here I am. So not quite a fuck up of insignificant proportions, one could say. I like this version of Alpha. This version of Alpha has had a very rough night. Anyway, anyway, so.
01:10:36
Speaker
Right, well, we've got to burn the tall house down now. Oh, for fuck's sake. There was what, like 20, 20 of them, 30 of them in there, how many? Ah, I mean, I saw, I saw eight. Eight, perfect. But there could have been, but there was space for a battalion inside, so. How much is a fucking battalion of a CRISCRO? Tell me. Seth.
01:10:59
Speaker
A lot. A lot. A lot. A lot. More than 20. Bother door and burn the place. We need the prisoner. Anyway, anyway. Traditionally, a battalion, 30 to 40. But this one fucking person without a sodding hand almost sent me back to the fucking depths of God knows where. Oh my fuck, Emron. Really? Don't forget, we do have to go and collect a prisoner from the tall house, so I'm hoping.
01:11:27
Speaker
that we might be able to get nicks as well. And have you prayed to Alito for that? I have, and... And what does Alito say? Well, the room lit up in response from Alito's words, so I'm hoping that Alito is saying yes, continue on this path. Yeah, or someone lit a candle. Well, I was the only one in the room, so...
01:11:54
Speaker
I would not like to put my faith in light. I can make light. I am not a god. Sometimes, Alpha, you have to have faith in something you can't see. Faith is nothing in the eyes of a non-believer, Emron. I didn't say it was, but... I'm gonna just put it out there. And Seth's gonna kind of look around a little bit. Should we just leave him?
01:12:19
Speaker
No. No, we need him. No. We need him? Nyx is a friend. We need him. Okay. You two have to keep three of us alive, so, you know, you don't... Oh! You just thought you'd make it a bit more challenging, Emron. Yeah, it was too easy up until now. Fuck! So, not only does... I've made a mistake. No, don't worry. I'm sure Nyx did something fucking stupid in the process.
01:12:45
Speaker
did he shank someone? No and to be fair I should have told Nick's not to come with me. He's got a fucking habit of that doesn't he? I was saying I was going to town and Nick's like don't come with you and I said I'm doing what I'm doing you don't have to
01:13:03
Speaker
I should have just taken it upon myself. I was prepared to take it upon myself and just go on myself and I should have done that. And we established the name thing yesterday as well. Oh, fuck me. I learned that the hard way. So how are we doing this? Fire and ash. We just turned up and see what I would prefer of not having to kill everybody because I think it might get us killed. While I would normally be
01:13:33
Speaker
While I would normally be very much for this option with regards to the Ecriskirr, I believe it could be difficult to distinguish Nyx from the Ecriskirr by use of fire. Do we not have- He's resistant! I found that out very early on! He'll be the one still standing! He is not immune! Between us, we must have the skills and talents to be able to sneak him out of there, surely. Well, we don't have those, Emron. We fucking showed that several times over in the space of 12 hours.
01:14:05
Speaker
How about this? One prisoner at a time. Let's deal with the one we know is going to be there. Ready for us. And let's deal with the fact that Nick's already fucked us for that one. But we already know that we have to go in disguise for that fucking prisoner. Exactly. Let's get the first prisoner out of the place and then we can talk about whether or not we leave Nick behind.
01:14:32
Speaker
But we are still on a schedule with the first prisoner. And this is the first prisoner rather than the additional prisoner we've got in the car right now. Ignoring that prisoner. Well, can we just kill this one? I'm fucking angry. I want to burn something. I'd prefer it if I was not murdered. Oh, he's awake. Great. I'd be in the face.
01:14:57
Speaker
It is like under clothes just... That is going to be a 22 to hit. That'll hit. It's gotten away C now. Non-lethal. He's out for the counting for four hours. Fucking hell. Right, so he's going to need some hydration or food soon, otherwise he will just die. Let's get Raids onto the cart. Let's get the cart hooked up to the elephant.
01:15:28
Speaker
Do we have a disguise? I assume we've got disguises. Yes, we're going to rock up to the criss-cross stronghold with two unconscious bodies in the back and say, we're the folks. Bring him in. The party's fucking raging. And with this, Baal's kind of going to be turning around and he's going to kind of, yeah, just be kicking the sand, probably snorting flame without using one of his features. He might just cast a bonfire, just kind of breathing out on the fliers somewhere.
01:15:58
Speaker
Okay, so there was something about cloth, that was the plan, won it? Cloth. The fuck is cloth going to do? Do you mean the bands that Nix has, the one who is now in the Obkriska prison? Oh, yes. Fucking brilliant. Okay, let's just...
01:16:23
Speaker
Well, let's just head towards the prison. And wait, wait, wait, wait, you're going to head towards the prison, the very prison that you turned up to, in the middle of the night, saying that you wanted to speak to a one-armed fucking paladin and got Nyx arrested. You're then going to turn up, as you are, and Bowel's gonna motion to you, and say, you're here now to collect the prison. Okay, yes, that is a fucking brilliant idea. Fuck this!
01:16:49
Speaker
And with last night's revelation as well, we believe that I am also wanted in accordance with something with Ranger's family. And let's not forget that Nix has revealed the plan too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Did they say anything of that last night? I did ask about her. Oh, you did? You asked about the plan. No, no. I asked about the elven woman who you guys had encountered. She hadn't come back from patrol yet.
01:17:17
Speaker
but there were no crisker about in town, so I don't know. She hadn't returned to the keep when I'd left. Bar will turn to Alpha and I'd say in Draconic, I think today's the day that we die, Alpha. Alpha will look back to Bar all for one and one for all in Draconic. Why the fuck not? Hold up, hold up. We're missing something very important we've got here.
01:17:48
Speaker
We've got trunks. He's faster than most of these bastards. And I'm pretty sure if you tell him to run straight at something, he would bash into it. But what if we can... We can knock over some horses. We can make a quick getaway, I think. Look, if we're gonna go in, you know, we're expecting all to die here, let's go, all guns and elephants fucking blazing.
01:18:30
Speaker
While you burnt a bitch... Yes, I don't think the paladin is going to be quite forgiving. But she didn't kill you last time, so maybe she'll let you off. She'll be fried. Nix is in prison, but I think we just address that later on. I think we just get the first prisoner, not the one on the cart, the one that's at the dollhouse, that isn't Nix. Maybe we could buy Nix's freedom, we could like...
01:18:33
Speaker
No. Fuck.
01:18:55
Speaker
Or we just get the first prisoner out and then we deal with the clusterfuck that is Nick's corral. Once we're kind of out the other side of the city, then we come back and get him. So we're like, we're not going in and trying to get everything and leave with nothing. We leave with something.
01:19:10
Speaker
and then come back and maybe we get next, maybe we go to snake run. We've got a choice there, you know? Maybe? You're not wrong. You're not wrong. You and Hill motion to Alpha. You can turn yourself into something else, can't you? Because you're going to be very, you know, obvious in your metallic form. You, and a point to Seth, yes, you're no longer wanted, but the one-armed fuck still probably knows your face and is probably going to want vengeance. True. Yes. So what if I'm perhaps
01:19:38
Speaker
redeemed by the fucking bitch that pulled me off the floor. And you, and he'll point to Emron, you can't clearly go and show your face very well, and I can certainly hide my face in the form of a fucking animal. So do we, as you say, Seth, turn up, get this prisoner, at least take them away from somewhere, then we can look at some form of prison break activity, hellfire, inferno,
01:20:07
Speaker
Fucking let's all get ourselves killed. But I don't think we can just turn up exactly as we are. No, disguises are necessity and I believe information is key. If we can at least... How heavy are you Arthur? Fairly heavy, why? I'm going to be your fucking horse. Oh my!
01:20:29
Speaker
Yes, mount me, but not yet. And I could get in the car with its cover. We could pull the canvas down. I could go in the car, couldn't I? You could be a big spoon. Wonderful. And you, Seth? I guess I'll drive the elephant. Drive the elephant. Yeah, someone's got to drive the car, you know, with the reins? Not that one. Very true. Okay. Do I need to transcribe this?
01:20:56
Speaker
What are we going to say when they look in the back and go, why are there two bodies? Why are they going to look in the back? They are our fellow party members who were on roch for the night and are sleeping. All the other prisoners were transporting because this one was tied up. We are transporting lots of prisoners. We are transporting prisoners. Because that's our business. That's our business. And then we can maybe we say when we're there, have you got anyone else you want to transport?
01:21:25
Speaker
But we are transporting prisoners in a wagon. That does not seem very...
01:21:31
Speaker
Look, this is a prisoner that Chris Crud didn't want to have to bother transporting. So clearly, they've got their hands full. So maybe, as Seth says, we can be like, look, we'll transport this one to Skokchamp for you as well. All great. All fine and dandy. Bob's your uncle. Fanny's your aunt. Bish, bash, bash. And while we're getting ready, Alpha, aren't you? You're a construction man, aren't you? You're building things. Can't you just make like a quick fence or something? I don't know, some shit across the back to make it look more like this is where we keep the bed. The bed is?
01:22:01
Speaker
A bit of time and materials, I'm sure I could do. How much time? Two or three minutes. Sand, rocks. What have you got on you? Well, I'd probably need to take 10 minutes. I don't want to waste the energy to relay all this information to Trunks. So you sort out what the fuck you're going to do. Do we want to wait until we're closer to do that? Well, it doesn't need that. I just need to let Trunks know what's going on. And if the shit hits the fan and we want the elephant to run,
01:22:30
Speaker
I can just click here and he'll go. He told me last night that he wanted to know whether he should return back to his place where he gets his food. Something tells me whoever has hired this person to... was it Kareem? Yeah. Yeah, he sounds like a slimy bastard. Something tells me that Kareem has convinced Trunks to head back to him when the shit hits the fan or when he's done. So this isn't our elephant. He's on loan.
01:22:56
Speaker
That's all he knows. Maybe he's just, you know, a slave elephant and hasn't known any better. That's true. He did seem dumb as fuck. So maybe I should just relay some information to him. It won't take me long. Okay. Yeah. And I'll start richly casting. So it'll take me 10 minutes for the same kind of process whilst everyone else is doing what I have to. Just the plan. We're going to go pick up the prisoner despite everything.
01:23:22
Speaker
Not as ourselves, everyone's in the back, we are transporting lots of prisoners across Dralak, let's keep it vague, across the world, and we're here to pick up another prisoner, but if you've got any others on the way, maybe you want to throw in Nick Skurrell. What was the name of that man, that person that was in charge? There were three that were in charge, and the one that likes to transport people.
01:23:53
Speaker
What was his name? I write that down somewhere. Doesn't Reigns constantly go on about your memory bank outfit? No, wasn't it Vossan? Yeah, yeah, yeah, Vossan. Vossan. He's one of the people that's in charge of Dralak now. And he transports people with all that, don't we?
01:24:08
Speaker
We were also told quite clearly that the Vossan's crew knew everyone within Vossan's crew. But we could say that we're transporting, we've been subcontracted by a Vossan maybe. I don't know what I'd just do. It was just an idea. Wonderful. No, it's a good idea. For once. Not for once. Sorry, I'm angry. I didn't mean that, Emron. No, it's all right. It's okay. I deserve that. I deserve some admonishment. Okay, there's probably more coming your way just so you're aware. Okay. But also, I'm no longer going to call you Emron.
01:24:37
Speaker
I'm no longer going to call you Seth and you Alpha. We need different fucking names. Yeah. Let's come up with a new pseudonyms. Okay. So Nick's becomes dicks. He has no say in that. That is a hundred percent exactly what he would want to be called anyway. Okay. Dicks. Um, alpha could be later. Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim, Tim. How about Tim, Tim? How about just Al? You can call me out.
01:25:08
Speaker
No, I like... I like... I like Tin-Tin. Tin-Tin, right. I'm not a fan of Tim or Tin. Duff, it's your name now. No, no, it's the other way around. What the fuck are you gonna be called, then? Who, me? Yeah. You're big, you're... Bjorn? Bjorn? I'll be... I'll be Bjorn. Bjorn Bjornsson? Aye. What about you, Seth? Seth could be... Bob?
01:25:35
Speaker
I don't like Bob. You all have good names with Ys in them. Oh, Tiny Tim. Tiny Tim, fuck. Tim Tim doesn't have a Y in it. Yeah, it does. I've spelled it. D-Y-X and then T-I-N-T-Y-M and then beyond B-Y-O-O-R-N. So we're saying Tim Tim with a Y. Tim Tim. And then if I'm going to be... You could be... Can we make a cut and then the set can't spell?
01:26:29
Speaker
What about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about, what about
01:26:36
Speaker
Yeah, horse need names. No, that's fine. No, fuck it. We call you Trigger. Perfect. Oh, I like that. Trigger the horse. So just to check, we've got Dix, Tiny Tim, Bjorn, Osiris and Trigger. That's the... It's not Tiny Tim. It's just Tim Tim. Tim Tim, I've put in a while. Tim Tim!
01:27:02
Speaker
To be honest, I can't communicate as a horse. Does it read need a cover name as well? Yes, he needs to stop saying his fucking name. Full title as well. Call him Saddle. How about... Well, is that because everyone's giving him a ride? Well, we can get to that when he wakes up. It's all right, it's fine. But they will ask us what his name is, potentially.
01:27:32
Speaker
His name could be... How about they are both the same shit yard? I don't know, fuck. We need to come up with something for that. Are we saying that they're from somewhere else? Do you know anyone within gold view or perhaps out of their sleep guard, someone that you know that you could just say, this is them? Could there be bounties? Yes, why not?
01:28:01
Speaker
Although they'd be able to cross-reference on the board, so maybe not. Well, do that have pictures on or not? Surely you know people from Sleepguard. Yeah, I'm trying. A name, any name. I'm trying to remember. Alpha, what was the name of that night we encountered? I'm just scanning my databack. Zippdop. Sorry. Zippdop. Nipnarp. Yes, it was. Sir Barry. So Barry and...
01:28:31
Speaker
What about, um, Kennard? We know there's a name over in Goldview. Perfect. Barry and Kennard, aye. Which one is which? Who gives a shit?

Raines' Doubts and Codeword Strategy

01:28:43
Speaker
Well, Raines can beat Kennard then. Raines can beat Kennard and dipshit over Ilby Barry. Perfect. Now you just need to remember what you're called otherwise, obviously, this is all to shit. This will all be a moot point.
01:28:58
Speaker
Come on, tiny Tim, let's get going. Tim, Tim. Tim, please. I'm fine with that. This is the worst best plan I think we've got. And because of that, it's definitely, definitely not going to work. Right. Just remember, as a great man once said, no plan ever survives contact with the enemy.
01:29:23
Speaker
If all goes to shit, we can't come back to the M4, can we? We need a code word because obviously I'll be in the tent and you'll be in horse mode. So Seth, you need to say something that we can all hear that that's the cue for us to go boss the wall. And I have requested not be Bellum Draconis. What about something like hello there or no, that's too obvious. Avast motherfuckers.
01:29:46
Speaker
Okay, Avast. That would also be a good response if you are looking for Nyx, just as an FYR. I won't say that to Nyx, so I say that and then we all kill everyone, right? That's when we think, the gigs up, we're all gonna die. Make a run for Scorch Helm and just leave fire in our trail? Yup, sounds good. Yeah. I think Escape is the best option against
01:30:13
Speaker
however many of us are assuming we have the prisoner we need to transport for the pigeon person and yeah and if all goes wrong let's say we chuck reins on on horse on on on trigger triggers Beck and you can gun it yeah perfect very well I feel like this is the first time in fact you thought through something and isn't it funny that it's all come from a massive clusterfuck
01:30:42
Speaker
Yeah, we're learning. Let's go possibly all die horribly in a little sandy village.
01:30:50
Speaker
Okay, it's more of a town, really.

Communicating Plans and Approaching the Toll House

01:30:53
Speaker
Well, whenever he completes his ritual cast of Speak with Animals, he will literally just relay the important parts of the plan to Trunks. Be it, basically, when we start gunning it, just run with us, you're not to return. Basically, don't return back to Karim's caravan site, you bastard. Stay with us. If we gun it, if Seth kicks his heels into you, just gun it. Okay.
01:31:18
Speaker
Information seed. Perfect. So here's what happens. Seth, I'm going to use your actual names and then we'll use your, you can deploy your pseudonyms as I'm wearing. Seth driving a cart pulled by trunks inside that cart is the unconscious shadow Mendian
01:31:41
Speaker
Two, yes. Assassin and the Crown Prince. Emron inside, holding court. Baal as horse form. Yes. Astride Baal as Alpha walking side by side in tandem with Seth as he's leading this guy. But Alpha is disguised as well. Alpha is disguised as well. And Seth is disguised as well.
01:32:02
Speaker
It's about an hour post sunrise at this point, and you've sort of taken that long perimeter because you can't take vehicles through Snake Run, around Snake Run. And you just arrive at that T section where the caravan history is to your right, the toll house is to your left, and the road is beyond the toll house. And as you guys approach,
01:32:20
Speaker
You just see this wayward looking tiefling sat in the middle of the sands, tall house behind him. And as you see, you see some activity in the tall house, like everything is sort of happening as you've been used to these mornings you've been waking up.
01:32:36
Speaker
And lo and behold, there are a series of sort of carts being pulled out of that toll house, one of which is a prison cart. But you just see about, yeah, 120 feet closer than that toll house, just a wayward, distraught looking tiefling sat in the sands. Yeah, everyone, Alpha, Seth, Ball! Nix, you see your entire, well, here's the thing. No, he doesn't. You see Seth.
01:33:01
Speaker
Who's disguised? No, I'm disguised. He wouldn't, yeah. I know the elephant. You know the elephant? I know the cat. But you wouldn't know the name of the elephant. Yeah, and that's enough suspicion for you to think. You all noticed Nick's just there. What do you want to do? You're 120 feet away. You're climbing up to Nick's. Do we recognize it at Nick's straight away? Yes. That's trigger ball is going to be snorting.
01:33:29
Speaker
Seth, as Carpenter form, is going to be quickly running his hand across his neck like, shut the fuck up, stop talking now, stop talking now. Towards him and then gesturing like, come here, come here, get in the cart, pointing to the cart behind him, get here, get in the cart quickly.
01:33:49
Speaker
I'm just going to kind of rub my temple a little bit and I'm just going to cast message towards Nix in his head and just say, Nix, it's us, we're in disguise, jump in the car and hide. You hear in your head, yeah, no shit, Alpha. Do you say that or is that the response in my mind? No. You can message back if you wanted to. That's the only thing I would double check on.
01:34:18
Speaker
Yes, I choose to. And yeah, I acquiesced to his request. You hop in the car and you see Emron and you see Reigns and you see this figure from last night, from earlier last night. Are they all in disguise? No. I'm not. Emron stresses Emron.
01:34:41
Speaker
You just hear Seth, you just hear Seth through the cloth of the tent. Everyone tell him his name. I'm going to... Beyond.

Deception and Escape from the Toll House

01:34:50
Speaker
Beyond, tell him his name. Are we still far away from... Okay, I'm going to cast this guy's self and I'm going to just make myself
01:35:02
Speaker
look like a human with just these kind of tatty clothes. It's just a vest and kind of long baggy kind of woven trousers, almost like he's just been out drinking all night. Short hair, dark and a beard. And he's just going to sit next to the unconscious prisoner and kind of lull his head onto his shoulder. I'm sorry, I have to leave you.
01:35:33
Speaker
in your mind that's cool exactly what i asked you to do also also your name as agreed by the party for this connoisseur is is dicks savvy okay okay no questions last amazing so you approach the toll house now there is it's shut but there is a prisoner cart waiting outside of four priscilla agents they're looking at you bemused as though are these the ones who are picking up who is sort of stepping down and initiating that
01:36:04
Speaker
Bjorn, I think you're up. That's you. You are Bjorn. No, no, I'm Bjorn. He's Bjorn. Oh, Bjorn. He got Osiris to me. I was Iris. I can't say. Shut the fuck up. Morning. We're here to pick up the prisoner. You guys can go in. We've got it from here.
01:36:28
Speaker
I see. And it's the same one that met Nix and Emron that night. And just to confirm the destination. Scorchell, go straight through. Don't worry, we've got the dirty business. You can stay in your tall house. We've got it. And for our records, the company who is taking this cargo, you are called... Pardon?
01:36:58
Speaker
Fuck. I didn't quite hear you. The name of your organisation, please, simpleton. We work for Vossen? We're the Vossen Vipers.
01:37:11
Speaker
You mean the sand vipers? No, no, no, no, no. We are not the sand vipers. No, we are a new crew working for Vossen. We work alongside with Karim, actually, quite a bit. We're just formed out of the deserts and, as you see, it's a strange group of Vossen vipers. I do not believe he would make the sand vipers and the Vossen vipers. He likes vipers. I don't know. I didn't question it. Make a deception check at disadvantage. Oh, fuck me!
01:37:41
Speaker
We did not come up with a name. Okay, okay, okay. We need better face that. That is a 10. May I see some sort of identification? What is your name? Yeah, my name is Osiris.
01:38:10
Speaker
This is the crew we have got here for Vossen. Listen, the name might be a work in progress, but that's just what he told us to say to people on the way so they knew we were part of this crew. Wait here, please. I must consult with the captain. Shut up back there. Sorry, we've got other prisoners in here. We want to get them all through nice and quickly. What's that? Why are we waiting here? Just one moment. It is the Vossen Vipers, correct?
01:38:39
Speaker
Yeah, that's what, that's, that's the kind of- I shall ask the captain. I do not think that is the name we are expecting. And she sort of moves in to the tall house. Okay. So there's only three of them still left out here? Three of them. Okay. I'm going to cast the third level cause fear and we're going to get the fuck out of here. Okay. Wisdom saving throw, 15. Okay.
01:39:08
Speaker
How are we going to grab the other car? You haven't attached it yet. We're going to attach it. We'll attach it. I'll attach it. I'm adept with vehicles. Vlad vehicles. One second. So what was the save? 15. One fails, two beat.
01:39:37
Speaker
So you see this one, I guess Coorsphere causes them to sort of run away? Yep, he just whispers under his breath quite quietly this kind of, again it's similar to the Blade song, quite kind of like Mongolian throat singing stuff really kind of low in his throat and he just stares at this one
01:39:55
Speaker
probably maybe the one that's closest and just, yeah, it's just, he just, um, runs, becomes frightened of me until the spell ends. Frightened I can repeat saving at the end of the turn, ending each effect on a success. Okay. So for the next six seconds, what one of those individual does is he sort of drops his scimitar and runs back in the direction of his colleague. The other two just sort of look blankly back at you. Six seconds later, that individual sort of turns back towards you.
01:40:26
Speaker
curiously and re-approaches. How big's the area that everyone stood in those three and... They sort of spaced out over like a 40 foot diameter. That did not work the way I wanted it to. In your head. Osiris. Osiris, you're here. Attach the car.
01:40:52
Speaker
Well, while we're out here waiting to get confirmation from the captain, would you mind just helping us attach up the card to the back of ours so that when we do get the okay, we can just get out of your way and you guys can get out of the sun?
01:41:07
Speaker
They look at you with suspicion, and there's one that ran away from you for a moment before, just sort of turns back, puts a hand towards their scimitar, and you just hear a really familiar voice, sorry, yeah, reaches for it. You just hear a familiar voice go, it's okay, it's okay, they're all above board. This is the company we're expecting.
01:41:33
Speaker
and a familiar half-elven figure of Shlody appears. Yes! Shut up, Dix! That was Ian, that was Dix. These are the prisoner transports we're expecting. We never really got their names.
01:41:56
Speaker
I have to admit, the Vossen Vipers is a terrible name. If you're brand new, I'd consider something a bit more unique. Yeah, obviously Vossen didn't spend too long thinking about it. Thank you for clearing up that. We'll attach the card. You guys look like you're thirsty. Go get yourselves inside out of the sun and we've got it from here. Thank you again, Captain, for checking everything's above board.
01:42:26
Speaker
Your horse looks hungry. Just a moment. I think I have something and she sort of reaches from a pack and produces an apple and approaches the horse. I will preemptively just put a hand up and, um, towards, um, uh, Schulte. I'll be careful. My horse don't, he don't like strangers. It's okay. I'm a,
01:42:56
Speaker
I grew up around horses, this type, especially. He very picky. Just be careful and don't be shocked if he, you know, tries to bite you. I know this one's bite. I felt it before. And she places a hand on the snout, the nose of Baal in trigger form. Very lightly.
01:43:25
Speaker
pretends to give you the apple and just whispers in your ear. They're onto you. Go now. Quickly. Don't look back. Don't stop for anyone. Do you understand? Just presses her forehead towards your spout. There's a snort
01:43:56
Speaker
In response, probably a little bit too slobbery. Bit of spittle. On the face. She breaks away, looks up to you, Alpha, and says, my mistake. I thought I knew horses, and this one just wasn't the one I grew up around. I'll heed your warning next time. Safe travels sort of turns with authority back as the other three are sort of connecting the cart back to yours. She hears it ahead. Thank you so much.
01:44:26
Speaker
She sort of turns back, doesn't really know where that's coming from. She knows the voice. Did I hear what she said to Baal in horse form? Yes. Right. Yes, you were close enough and your passive perception is high enough. OK, I'm going to quickly send a message to Osiris.
01:44:48
Speaker
Again, the way I am, I've just kind of got long hair in my disguise so far, so I just kind of keep brushing my hair back to try and hide the movement of me just touching my hand to my temple. Professor Exing. And it's like, I believe they're on to us. It could be in our best interests to go. And Seth Outlied will go, oh shit, time to go.
01:45:13
Speaker
That's going then and then he's going to give trunks a little and then I guess it's a slightly more lurching pull as like a train of them start to move and he's going to give like a nod and a whisper back then to Bjorn. I'm getting really good at this, all this lying stuff actually. I think it suits me. You've done well and she saved our archers. Who?
01:45:39
Speaker
She saved her arses. Just don't tell Nick's... I was there! Shit. That's why I sent her the message. Thank you so much.

Warnings and High-Speed Journey

01:45:50
Speaker
Can I try and shit myself on the way away? Absolutely. I just want to leave shit on the doorstep of the increase. Constitution save for the colon. This is where I wish I still had catapulted.
01:46:03
Speaker
Basic bodily function. I won't get you to roll it. Amazing. Roll to shit. Yeah. So you sort of begin to depart and this is interesting. So you have your wagon and you have tethered to that, the prisoner cart. This is a 10 by 10 steel framed cart on a wooden base that is covered on all sides. None of you actually checked to see who was inside, but the point where you left.
01:46:28
Speaker
the weight immediately actually feels quite slow going until the elephant sort of kicks into the new gear where it recognises it's pulling this higher weight and you are thrusted almost like you know when you're trying to set off and you've left the handbrake on you put that down and then boom you're away it's sort of like that jolt
01:46:44
Speaker
And as you sort of move in tandem over the next couple of minutes and put some distance between you and Snakerun, you're met by a very familiar outrider who, on camelback, sort of approaches the cart.
01:46:59
Speaker
from a good distance, not threatening anyway. They don't seem to make conversation with you for a couple of moments. They sort of just continue to ride in tandem. So elephant in the middle to the left of it would be ball in horse form with alpha on top and to the right, this very opulent individual. It's Kareem. And though he doesn't make any overt attempts to sort of say who you are, just says,
01:47:28
Speaker
Yeah, just watch, watch a mile down the road for the, you know, the roadblock. Yeah, if you happen to lose any cargo, then it would be a shame, but we'll make sure we recover it. Just locks eyes at you, Seth. Do you hear me? Get fucked, Kareem.
01:47:55
Speaker
Everyone's going to reach through the curtain between Seth and the cart, just Pat Seth on the back. He's going to walk up, yeah, carry on. He gets very red-faced at that. Rides alongside you for 30 seconds, maybe. Just weighing up your decision. And then turns and abouts face. And you ride on a really...
01:48:23
Speaker
comparatively great stretch of road, considering the sort of journey you've been on for the last couple of weeks, and unconscious reigns, sorry, but paralyzed reigns, and unconscious assassin in the back and the entire group. And you press on for an hour, unless anyone wants to sort of stop and have some sort of restorative moment. I'd probably release my world-shaped form if we're out of snake when we're out of sight.
01:48:52
Speaker
Yeah, the issue I'd gently get alpha down rather than transform with him. I don't know how that would look, but actually now I want to see it. Um, yeah, yeah, yeah. And, uh, and I'll kind of climb on the cart. Nice. My disguise self with, or guess how fast we're traveling quick.
01:49:15
Speaker
So if everyone sort of opens up the back flap of the cart. Like a horse at gallop, full speed. Oh wow, we are going fucking fast. Elephant can move. Can I see into the next cart? Not as it is, it's sort of like, still on the outside of the mesh inside it. Like an internal membrane of mesh. Everyone's going to turn to the loop. Do we want to find out who our prisoner is then? Anyone else curious?
01:49:44
Speaker
I think our major concern, everyone is going to be the... Checkpoint of God coming up ahead. Yum. The obvious embouch. Embouch. And they all but told us that the Acryscra are on to us. We need to just make distance. We worry about whatever that is, I think, once we're in the clear. But let's worry about this Korean blokes. And whoosh. What was that all about, Seth? Oh, fuck him.
01:50:11
Speaker
It was a slime ball. We're done with him now, no worries. I won't be saying it again ever, I promise you that. So, are we going to get towards the ambush and let it happen? Or are we going to stop and then go face it? Obviously we don't want trunks getting in the line of fire, do we? Well, priority must be keeping trunks alive. That is our main reason or our main way of getting to Scorch Elm. Agreed. Yeah, short of barbed corners and yeah.
01:50:42
Speaker
I can't. I do not have the strength. Nothing I have seen that I'm able to convert myself to will be able to do this. Okay, so I think maybe get close, scout it out, try and see what it is before we go into it.

Ambush Strategies and Preparations

01:51:00
Speaker
Which one of us has the best vision? They could sit up on trunks and be looking out and when it gets close we can... I'm relatively perceptive.
01:51:10
Speaker
Can you wildshap into a bird or something? Can you fly ahead? No, I haven't yet committed myself fully to the requirements. If Trunks is okay with it and you're okay with it, you'll keep an eye out front. Nyx, Alpha and myself will be in here.
01:51:31
Speaker
Let's hope Ranger wakes up soon. And when the ambush happens, we'll come out from the back and flank round. Or before we get there, we'll all get out and go and deal with this. I think our strongest option is to keep moving, in all honesty. We stop and we're dead. We move. We keep moving. We fight on the move. We stay on the cart. Someone should be probably with the prisoner. They die.
01:51:58
Speaker
We're fucked. The prison is pretty well concealed and covered so... I think that's a good idea, just bodge straight through and just... If we roll up the sides of this tent we can probably, you know, attack from it. Any protection we could offer Trunk?
01:52:20
Speaker
If you give me some time, I can forge him some armour, but that'll take some time. Oh my God, that'd be fucking awesome. But not now. Not now. Bit of time. Over some days, I could probably make him some kind of protection. Is there any magical armour we can afford him? There's nothing that big. I can't, I can't catch anything like that. But I can make him bigger.
01:52:48
Speaker
Or smaller? No, we don't want it to make him bigger, that'll make him a bigger target. Oh, yeah. And smaller he won't be able to pull his way. Let's just... Quickly, contingency plan. Someone falls off the cart. Don't fall off. Don't fall off the cart, excellent. Seth, you said you could make some sort of disc. Oh, yeah, but...
01:53:13
Speaker
And you say that will follow you? Yeah, I'll follow me. Can you do that whilst on the cart? Give us another platform, something to fight from. Yeah, that would work. It's, yeah, it gets 20 feet away from me and then it just will follow. What if we had to walk to ourselves like lines from a boat so that we can't get left behind? I don't know. It's not a bad idea, but I genuinely think
01:53:38
Speaker
If we are still, we're in trouble. Yeah. Keep moving. Okay. Do we keep moving? Or if one of us falls behind, do we stop? Well, that doesn't mean we need to work it out. I think. How about we only stop if someone falls off? If no one falls off, we just keep gunning it. I totally agree. Given enough warning, there may be something I could assist if somebody were to fall off. And likewise, so long as you're close enough.
01:54:06
Speaker
So stay on the card, stay close together. If need be, I could always go and get them for a short amount of time. Right, okay. Okay. We've got some contingencies. Look what happens when we come up with a plan. We go straight into an ambush. Alpha, have you fixed your gun yet? I'm afraid we could not get the parts. Okay. But you've got your little turret spidery thing. And a small crossbow gifted to me. You could put the turret on Trunks' head.
01:54:36
Speaker
Could we not attach the turret to the second cart at the start? The turret is mobile. I can position it where... Could it go on our cart behind us? That way we've got that covered as well. And in a previous fight, you used it to bolster us, didn't you? Indeed. Within a certain range, I'm able to use it to distribute a small diluted version of myself. And would that work for Trunks too?
01:55:04
Speaker
perhaps see no reason why not he is still a creature good I can also heal trunks without a stopping if need be as can I excellent I think we've got all places covered here apart from you know the stuff that we've already see forgotten if we have to
01:55:24
Speaker
Alito's light will guide us and bless us with his strength and guidance. Well, it's going to roll the eyes at Seth. You mean like literal help or good, not just like imaginary help. Perfect. That's good. That's good. I'm all good for that. If Alito wishes to give us his blessed, he will. I will just ask. You know, and if it says no, then you know, then
01:55:50
Speaker
Yeah, we got bigger. We'll just manage anyway. Right. Okay. So we're just going to, we're going to gun it. Bar's going to crawl back up onto, uh, trunks his back, get the staff, the staff that was bought as well, that helps with, with this kind of the survival checks and always knows which way is North as well. So he's kind of got his navigator head on. He's got his eyes peeled. Um, yeah, he's ready to go. Okay.
01:56:17
Speaker
Can, I don't know where my voice was going. Can the prisoner, is he like easy to see? No, you haven't seen him. Can, but if Nick's looks for him, like is it as simple as leaning forward and looking to the inside is like a mesh cover, presumably to protect him from the sun.
01:56:44
Speaker
So you haven't actually locked clock dies on him at any point. But he's viewable. It's inside a shrouded mesh. I can't cast message through that. It needs to try. Do you need sight? Yeah. Sort of.
01:57:10
Speaker
Try and cast message. You don't feel like it's connecting. Like a phone call that doesn't go through. Just for what it's worth, the actual reading of message, if you can cast the spell through solid objects if you are familiar with the target and know it is beyond the barrier. Ah, look at that.
01:57:34
Speaker
So that's different from a wake of mind, but good job, I have message. Do you know if it's beyond, do you know if that target is beyond that barrier? At no point have you looked inside. Well, that's what I mean. I was, I was trying to find out if I could look inside. I'm trying to figure out the image of it all. What's messages range? Uh, 120 feet.
01:57:56
Speaker
But I was trying to get the visual as if it's an easy thing to look in on it, but it sounds like it's just like, if it works, you know, he's going to cast message. I was just seeing if I could get a visual. That was my first question. So rereading the rules of that spell. So for message, I can cast a spell through solid objects if I'm familiar with the target and know it's beyond the barrier.
01:58:23
Speaker
one foot stone, one inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or three feet of wood. Blocks to spell. So here we go. If you are familiar with the target and know it is beyond the barrier, magical silence, one foot stone, one inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead,
01:58:41
Speaker
three feet of wood blocks the spell, the spell doesn't have any have to, it doesn't have to follow a straight line, it can travel freely around corners or through openings. So knowing that I can't look at the damn thing, I would I'd cast message, it's a source for a spell, just FYI there. And I would knowing that dribbo can cast
01:59:07
Speaker
Message two, I'm gonna send a message through the cage and just go, told you we'd get you. So, you hit nothing back. Oh shit, balls. Fuck.

Rapid Approach and Mysterious Rider

01:59:33
Speaker
You all right? You've been on the next road about an hour.
01:59:37
Speaker
I'm not going to relay that to the group. Nix is confident that we've got the... He has no reason to think anything else. There you go. Okay. Does it look... I'm assuming it's going to be quite tricky to traverse from one cut to the one we're moving.
01:59:57
Speaker
Yeah, it's sort of connected by coupler and rope. So it's about 10 feet back, like past the other end of the car. And then it's not like a jump, like you can't, if you jumped onto it, you'd be holding onto tiny like metal. It wasn't like a clear place to grip. Oh, I thought it was on a, I thought it was a cage on a car. It's a cage on a car, but it, there isn't, it's, if you attempted to jump it, you'd be making a save to stay on. Yeah, I thought so. It's not like a clean step. No, yeah. It's actually, the car is exactly the same size as the cage basically.
02:00:26
Speaker
It's worth saying that over the course of this hour, while people's wild shapes have been changing and people's forms have been changing, Seth, other than losing that disguised self, you have sort of been steering this. So you've had the most eyes on the horizon. Your passive is high enough that in the last 20 minutes, you've noticed a new sand stream has sort of started to the right of you. You've been in the deserts long enough now to know that these things just sort of happen. The sand streams are the things that you encountered when you were at the egg.
02:00:55
Speaker
when you were looking for the eggs and that sort of waterless river that flows through the deserts. This has just sort of started over the next 20 minutes. To the point now where it's coming at full speed, it's sort of moving partially parallel with the road and then it sort of veers out about 60 feet out into the desert to the right of you.
02:01:26
Speaker
That sort of generates over 20 minutes while all of this is happening. And it gets to that point, Seth, where you're constantly looking behind you naturally because you're weary that you might be followed at any point. And rather than something following you on the road, you see this figure, this creature appear, disappear, appear, disappear almost like dolphin fashion in that sand stream. It's maybe 200 feet away right now. There's anything you want to do.
02:01:56
Speaker
quite quickly, it'll be 160 feet away. I'd relay that straight away to a ball. He'd be on the head of the, uh, of, of trunks and go ball off to the right in the sense dream. Do you see that? And just relay it to whoever else. I assume we can hear right behind you. Yeah. Yeah. And just do I see it? Yeah. Yeah. Do I recognize it? Hmm. Make a position check perception. Yes, please. Cool.
02:02:27
Speaker
Sorry, it's taking a while to get through. 20, non-natural. This is a large creature being ridden by some sort of humanoid. And the humanoid dipping into the sand stream at the same time? And coming out again, yeah, almost like it's riding the back of this dolphin. Do I recognise the creature? You do not recognise... Yes, you recognise the creature. It is a giant ant. Giant ant? Yes.
02:02:57
Speaker
being ridden by, and this is, you say about 100 or 200 feet. 160 now. And as it gets to about 120, within a few seconds, the sandstream moves quicker than anything you guys have access to on land. You notice the figure atop. You notice the figure is butt naked. Wearing no clothes. Female. Dwarven.
02:03:25
Speaker
Astride, this giant ant, and just holding up these two middle fingers towards the party, gets to 80 feet, 40 feet, and you're all seeing hope, but naked, flipping the bird with both hands on you. About 60 feet to your right as she's beginning to pass now.
02:03:57
Speaker
And she just yells out, fuck you! And zooms past. Is there anything you guys want to do? Oh, there's so much I could do. So that's just going to nod like fair do's. That's a lot of effort. Because I got applaud. Well done. I'll just shout back, does it, Chafe? Everyone's going to wave pleasantly. Yeah. Listen, I look like you.
02:04:28
Speaker
She goes, um, no, just, yes, that's just impressed. That's a lot of effort just for that. And a lot of effort to flip us the bird. That moment passes. You will, uh, Nick's arguably frustrated. Some of you entertained. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not lost on Nick's. And then with your passive perception, you think I wonder what's in her wake. What's behind her.
02:04:56
Speaker
What's following her? Oh, God. You just see

Cliffhanger: Lone Shooter

02:05:01
Speaker
this lone figure on horseback about a quarter of a mile down the road. And then a sound I don't think you've heard before, Baal, but I could be wrong, that everyone else has, of a firearm.
02:05:22
Speaker
And this bullet, Seth, just comes flying past your brow. And that's, so we're going to end this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop Bellum Draconis. Son of a bitch got my gun!
02:05:39
Speaker
That is shooting at us. It's the Wild West. It's actually the Wild West. That's so cool. By my pretty floral bonnet. Quite dark tower. Callum, you're the gunslinger-esque. We got out of Snake Run. We did it. Let's leave the place where everybody gets arrested. We did it.
02:06:06
Speaker
Wow, it is a silly place. Everyone's been absolved of his sins. I have Alito blesters and look, it all worked out at the end. It's all okay. You're just going to the biggest center of non-law and villainy you've ever been in your life. And it's not like any of us are wearing a GPS tracking tag.
02:06:25
Speaker
I had one of those anyway. I've just got two. I've got Google Maps and Garmin. I'm sure that's happening. You've got these little bracelets on your ankles with little red flashing lights. You always click accept all cookies, don't you? You're that guy. Mixes, absolutely. Cookie man. Hat too. The cookie man. Cheers, hat too.
02:06:48
Speaker
Do you want to do new two level ups now, don't you? Sholdy worked out though. Oh, I know and I hate that. I hate that. I feel so vindicated for keeping her alive. I hate that. I hate it as well. I love it. I hate it. And a Mark level. I hate that because I hate it for Ian and I hate it for Nyx as well. On the subject of how you're feeling, Mark, at set level five, what happens?
02:07:14
Speaker
I get access to 3rd level spell slots, I get a few more HP, so I'm now up to a towering 32 HP. I've picked up Tiny Hut as a level 3 spell, which I'm probably going to use often. Mainly it's going to be my Shadow Blade, I can now upcast at level 3, and I've also picked up
02:07:35
Speaker
animate dead, which I know ball won't be keen on, but he's a bit, he's a bit of a necromancer. So yeah, that's, that's what he's got. And everything else pretty much stays the same. No other changes. Nice, nice. Alpha level five.
02:07:56
Speaker
I get a couple of extra spells permitted to me, which is Shatter and Scorching Ray. They just come through naturally, and then obviously I get access to my second level spells as well. I also get an Arcane Firearm. Oh shit! Yes, basically I can turn with a Greed on a Boomerang.
02:08:23
Speaker
for it, but basically I can turn a one staff or rod into an arcane firearm, which is used as a focus for my artificial spells. When I do, I get to roll an additional d8 damage, which is always a little bit nice. Yes, more power! Nice, thank you very much. Bal and Nyx already were level five.
02:08:45
Speaker
You bow for just joining the party at that level and it's through the bonus of Shondralica. Emerald, you're level five. So I've taken a level in fighter. So I've gained the fighter proficiencies, the 1d10 fighter hit point dice. I've taken the fighting style of defense because that's what everyone's always been all about defense. I also gain the ability of second wind. Nice. Nice. Thank you very much.
02:09:19
Speaker
There you go. And if you want to tell us about your level ups, then you can do so on our various things. Ian isn't listening. He looks like he's really concentrating.
02:09:30
Speaker
I've been doing a lot of shit in this episode, man. There's multi-layers now that's going on and I cannot hold it together. Take it away, Emeron. Nix is going insane. So if you wish to tell us about your own level ups in your D&D campaigns, do so. You can hit us up on our very own social medias. You can.
02:09:52
Speaker
You can DM me about that. Ian loves to be DM'd about all the intricate details and mechanics of D&D. He really enjoys that, so please do message him about all of your questions. Yes, as you can all know, I've taken it very seriously. So you can follow us at Photoshop table on X, and if you search for as we are on Facebook and that kind of stuff, and if you wish to follow Callum, you can find him at... TheD20Gamer. If you wish to follow Ian, you can find him at... IRolledA1.
02:10:21
Speaker
If you wish to follow Mark, you can find him at Hasty Roll DM If you wish to find Beta Will, you can find him at Fellowship NPC PC You didn't have to say Beta man, come on
02:10:33
Speaker
I'm just hammering away the points. I am a beta though. If you wish to find me, you can find me at iRolla1. And if you wish to find our marvellous maestro of a DM, you can find Danny at Total Party Thrills. Until next time. Tintin!
