Why? It's me, Nazca, from Season 1. You don't know me? i I'm kind of a big deal, guys. Anyway, I was the product of a long-ass week, some shorty planning, and next to no character prep for an NPC, and here I am four years later, still stuck in this damn podcast. Still referenced, even though they don't know me. That's why I needed a therapist, you see. So lonely, stuck back here in Season 1. No distinct accent. No real development. No one to talk to. Blight everywhere. All my goblin folk are murdered. Fucking hell. If only I had a way to talk to others and share my story. That's what I was saying before I learned about Zencaster. You get to expand upon my super detailed and

The bustling streets of...

Tensions and Alliances in Sleepguard

00:04:46
Speaker
Oh shit, forgot the name of the place we're in. Sleep guard. Team with life. A vibrant tapestry woven with a laughter of children. The calls of street vendors and the occasional song of Fuck You Darren are wandering minstrels. Amidst the lively chaos, a secluded alleyway beckons, failed in mystery and shadow. With an attempt, air is thick and the scent of exotic spices and ancient incense. A soft glow of old girls' awe bathes the light and he looks directly at us.
00:05:15
Speaker
Oooh, differences! Emron rejects Nix's reason for peace and attacks Nix as he leaves! Seth and Nix don't do some ignoring of Emron and Reign start searching some bodies, find some really cool shit like plate armor. These must have been some super special soldiers. Emron goes all Tylwa with a flaming fucking hammer and says, you will be judged! And Seth is like, I killed my brothers for you bitch, I defend yourself for you bitch! And Emron slash Tylwa is like attacking but trying to miss and stuff and Bao tries to take him down with a cheeky bit of breath and Nyx ties him up and Seth just wants to get fucking moving and Reigns goes up to Trunks and does some healing and Nyx
00:05:51
Speaker
does some questioning of Emron's morality, and Reigns does some more healing, and Emron tries to break out, and Seth is like, you know what? I'm gonna let you out, boy, with some cool ass words. And then Tua becomes Emron again, tries to undo his feet, and then starts talking to Reigns about how when they reach school he Scorch Helm, they might just have to leave that group behind. The group decide to hash out some harsh truths who is in the right, and Rainsdon drops the full story about being Prince Hadao, and how Alpha is a Nakavolo husk with a memory rune, and how he's inspired by Helena, and how if the enemy get their hands on Alpha, they're gonna have some sort of sentient metal armor
00:06:34
Speaker
i It's gonna be fucking crazy!" And he lets loose all of his goals and wills and whims. Plans apparently are gonna change in Scorcherm, says Dribbo, as he still possessed Alpha's body. And finally, he releases him with a a sneaky little safe word of spatula.
00:06:55
Speaker
So, we find ourselves huddled in this elephant-drawn caravan approaching sunset on your first day traversing the Red Shale Road. It's only been one day! Oh yeah. yeah ah You left Snakerun this morning. Oh my god! This road, the Red Shale Road maintained by the Ecriskra, is the highway that connects Dralak's capital, Scorchhelm, to where you've just been, Snakerun. Following the events of the last hour, Alpha, your senses return to you and you find yourself in transit inside the wagon, slightly out of breath, slightly depleted, weakened, um but relatively otherwise all there. The last thing you remember, absolutely however, was you were about to be attacked by sleep guardians.
00:07:54
Speaker
those navigating the front of this convoy, which is typically, I believe, where we left it, Baal on top of Trunks and and Seth using the elephant res not reins, not Rains' reins, given the time of day, begin to pass other road users who are sort of camped up. parties of halflings, parties of the kriska that are condemned. No one is sort of challenging you on the road. It's just, it's that point in the day where people who don't have caravan travel, their resources are tapped. Sorry, but they don't have elephant travel. Their resources are sort of tapped out and they're hunkered down. Elephants go for a little bit longer, but you bow particularly notice that trunks is tiring, particularly from being attacked during the day as well. um that you're You're at that point now, it's probably wise to think about about where you're going to rest.
00:08:38
Speaker
And people who pass you on the road, most of them greet you with a nod or a wave. It's quite ah a friendly, well-maintained route. You feel secure. It's not like you're traversing the the wilderness.
00:08:49
Speaker
So as your fateful elephanti companion begins to tire, from a full day of hauling both all of you and the prison wagon,
00:09:05
Speaker
tempers where they are and where they have been as sunset approaches. What do you want to do? I think being a top trunks, Baal would be on the lookout. Having passed various ah campsites and things like that, Baal would be on the lookout for somewhere where they could pull up for the night, um somewhere that seems like it could be relatively well defended.

Rest and Reflection on the Red Shale Road

00:09:32
Speaker
He's still kind of on edge on high alert from from the events that have happened ah earlier in the day. So yeah, that's my intention.
00:09:41
Speaker
Okay, so, Paul, as you are sort of impromptu travel leader, would you please make a survival role as we're going into this stage? You can just see if you can ascertain the most suitable place to to camp if it's not something particularly obvious. It's because I got me stick out as well, so to speak, 24. Perfect. Yeah, it doesn't take you too long begin before you sort of begin to realize it's almost as as though the Epiriskra who managed this this road know that this is about what um one travelling
00:10:16
Speaker
ah spell can cover in the point of a day and you notice that the clusters of safer area sort of bunkered in almost campsites. There are lots of um places where camps have been and people have sort of left discarded firewood, that sort of thing. and It's really easy for you to sort of locate an area that is sort of off the beaten track by by about 15, 20 feet and then sort of in a little enclosed space to keep you protected from the the the winds at night. um Yeah. If you were to pull up, you'd be able to find somewhere particularly useful. Excellent. Yeah, I'd definitely point that out to the group then kind of immediately. Okay. Anyone want to do anything else as Seth pulls this in for the evening?
00:11:05
Speaker
ah and Seth would just huff and when we kind of pull in pull into a stop and Seth would just look towards Sparlem and just ah very very tired eyes drooping still haggard from the from the day's battle. Well, are you all right to look after Trunks? He's headed hard today. Yes. I'll see that he's fed properly. If you could just help me perhaps unhook the reins, I'll have a chat with him later as well, make sure that he knows the deal.
00:11:42
Speaker
yeah i'll ah or a letter mode now. And then after that, once we're settled, we need to have a talk. Of course. About what happened. Indeed. I feel like I have some explaining to do.
00:11:57
Speaker
Perhaps. Where does that have to turn to the rest of the group? Where do we want to camp? Rains will have spent a large chunk of this. He doesn't really acknowledge that because Rains is just them snapping his fingers in front of Alpha who has clearly just gone silent ever since his body has been abandoned. so He's periodically just snapping his fingers in front of Alpha just to see if there's any response. But he will have anywhere as long as we stay far in effect and that warrant provoking those young T-folk, I don't mind where we go.
00:12:32
Speaker
And Seth then would just kind of huff and step down, take quick help Boil take the reins off of trunks. And then just kind of looking like a spell book is like hanging on his neck, like cutting into the the skin on his shoulder. You can see that kind of that shoulder hunching down. He's going to just hobble off quite a few, maybe 15, 30, 40 feet away from the road um and then just sit down with a spell book. He's going to sit down and start turning to a page and then just says, give me 10 minutes and we'll have a place to wrist. Just give me 10. And he'll just slowly start pulling out these wisps of red smoke one at a time, forming almost like out of clay, a small hut, if you will, um, which will take 10 minutes to form and it will slowly grow and grow and grow and grow. Basically ritual cast in tiny hut. We need to stay within a certain radius of that while you're casting it.
00:13:25
Speaker
No, I can allow in. I believe I can allow in. Yeah, I think you can choose. You can fit inside the dome. Nine creatures can fit inside. We have to be inside when you start casting it, is it? Creatures and objects in the dome when you cast the spell can move freely. All other creatures and objects are barred from passing through. Yeah, okay. I don't know that we have to stay within 10 foot radius while you catch that. I think you're very right. I think if he starts... Because we've done it before. Or is it... It's down to Danny really. I suppose if it's a 10 minute and then... I think rule is written here, you're probably going to need to gain consent otherwise some people might not want to partake in this. Okay. So he'll sit down, he'll read the rules of his spell. Oh fuck. I'm going to turn to everyone. If you want to get involved in this,
00:14:12
Speaker
Once I've cast this, you can walk freely through it, but literally nothing else can enter. It is a totally safe space for us to sleep tonight. The only enemies will be the ones we make ourselves. if youre olderer than the desert Is it cooler than the desert? It can be the temperature we want it to be. um man So it'll be warmer for the night, but cooler in the day. Just what you need in the desert. so There will be hammocks.
00:14:40
Speaker
Just sit yourselves here or just take a while to get it going and then whoever chooses to sit down and wait the time will get involved. Those who don't i can sleep outside. That's what Seth will be doing for the next 10 minutes. Okay. While Seth is crafting his hut and range is clicking in front of Alpha, probably takes a couple of minutes in the middle of the hut creation for Alpha to go, come and get me. Oh, and um, This is not where I last recall being.
00:15:17
Speaker
Just to check, Callum, yeah that would be a couple of minutes after what Seth has just said, right? Yeah, a couple of minutes after what Seth has said. So, Reigns would have seen no response from you and he would have just glanced at Enron and seen that Enron's just probably still peering off into the distance and would just have... So, it's it's only Enron around you at this point because Reigns has said he'd go with Seth. So, it's only Enron around you at this point. Yeah, which is fine. Alpha would just kind of turn round and just like... Hmm. This is most peculiar. You took a funny turn. We can probably explain it a bit. um what what What has happened to our enemies? the yeah so They've been defeated.
00:16:02
Speaker
ah You took a ton of, it's really weird, the the prisoner, and everyone all sort of nod his head to him, because everyone's sort of been sitting at the back of the cup, his legs hanging over the back. um He was sort of controlling you, sort of, I think, puppeteering. I don't know, a bit complicated. um and Anyway, I think Seth's doing a ah traveling hook thing, so we want to be close to him if you we want to benefit from it. So are you okay to walk? Do you need me to carry you? Alfred's probably going to take a moment to kind of lift all his appendages, his legs, assuming he seems to be still functioning normally, but just probably a little bit drained. Make a constitution check for me. Oops, hang on. I've done a saving throw there, my apologies.
00:17:04
Speaker
ah Constitution check was 14. You're looking twice. Aside from feeling a bit weary, a bit bruised, a bit achy, you also feel sprightly. You feel like really well caffeinated. You feel like you have a reserve of energy that you haven't had. You're only having your most um sort of red-eyed moments, if that makes sense. yeah you You feel like there is something in your chest that's giving you purpose. You don't know what it is, but you feel like and a battery has been replaced.
00:17:39
Speaker
Okay, um with the revelation that obviously the Prince and was controlling us, I'll probably still look back at Emron. Is he another construct like myself? I was under the impression he was of the Dragonborn. Yeah, I think he's like, I'm gonna guess some kind of... um No wonder whether you ever encountered them when we were back in Shadowwind. You know, ah bards and the like, they're the ones that tend to use the magic to um use words and the like, and usually sometimes can control folk and or manipulate objects and people. And I think he did that bit weird, not quite sure how, given that he's in Cajun, a magical prisoner, it'd be the kind of thing you'd think a prison would stop you from puppeting people.

Nix's Role and Group Dynamics

00:18:23
Speaker
It probably magic way beyond us.
00:18:26
Speaker
um But yeah. I am so very confused. Yeah, there's a lot of that going around. But we won the fight and everybody is okay. Yes, we are all physically okay. We should get into Seth's. We should get close to Seth because this travelling spell, when it goes up, if it goes up without us, we ain't getting in there for the next eight hours. Very well. It probably would be wise to join. It would be, yeah. and Alpha will start normally walking over. And then run all following.
00:19:05
Speaker
So, everyone bar Nix has declared they'll be in the hunt? And that what about the prisoner and the elephant? I don't think the spell fails if they can get try to get inside it. Yeah, elephant can't fit. Okay, Nix, what are you doing? Well, what about the prisoner, guys? As everyone's just walked off. well we can't on the car We can't move him out of it because we were warned not to interrupt the spell. And I reckon that whatever magic is controlling, protecting that, probably means he's quite safe.
00:19:45
Speaker
This is fine. Look, I don't mind the heat and it's not like I'm going to sleep anyway, so I'll stay with Tribbo. You know you can leave the tent once it's cast, right? Nope. I'll see you at the tent.
00:20:04
Speaker
Once it's cast, you can freely trap. It's ah it's an age-old traveling spell. Used a lot back in Shadow Men, at least by caravan traders and the like. It's very useful.
00:20:15
Speaker
So 10 minutes pass, then everyone is in close proximity. Does anyone want to comment on the fact that you're all huddled really close together? 10 foot radius is fine, right? Makes all just kind of shift back and forth on the same spot, whistling every now and then, just to kind of pierce the silence. to to a couple of passes by on the road, you can just just see the sort of nook that you're you're beginning to put your shelter in. You just look like a bunch of Emperor penguins, huddled together for warmth, moving in a desert, non-verbal motion, looking really upset. Rains will um just at one point, just as he's just waved, us so like a kind of awkward wave to the last travel that's gone by, he's just going to say,
00:21:07
Speaker
I wonder what the hell we're going to discover in Scorched Helm that is going to devastate my plans and change everything.
00:21:16
Speaker
Let's just get through the night. That is a bit of new information, right? Well, it was you who said it, but well, not you. It was to prisoner. Yeah, I was explaining to Alpha. Alpha was asking how we did it. I was saying it's big magics. Because he's also got that protective thing around his cage. It's a bit weird, but yeah. The normal extent of explanation from Emron. Perhaps a more detailed explanation from him, if you have a better understanding. Oh, snap, Alpha!
00:21:50
Speaker
oh um um Yeah, yeah, you are in that fight all of a sudden got taken all the bad cage dribble over there. He was quite useful in ah and a fight. it melan he He was able to patch me up. He was able to and to inspire some folk. um He he um took to and control of your body. yeah yeah yeah That bit's slightly beyond me. It's not specific to Nakavolo. I did find that out. He could have done it to anyone of us. It was just for some reason he picked you.
00:22:25
Speaker
but but but he could've done it to anyone of us, and and perhaps could again, which is... I've got that look forward to, perhaps. Preferably not. i Anyway, sometimes, you know how that the... You told me... ah not to kill my granddaddy's agent because I'd get the chance to interrogate him. Do you remember that bit? That one, yes yes. Yeah, well, turn turns out he's dead. So, um oh that that happened, he's dead. Yeah, that that that that's information. Ah, Imran probably didn't mention that because... Yeah, we we we ah it was knocked it was knocked down, ah stopped him from dying and then...
00:23:01
Speaker
Nick and Seth decided to stop him while he was stabilized but um that is fine you're right. Quickly i think there's a little bit of information missing namely the part where he escaped his bonds once again he stole you alpha took you away with a knife to your throat. I went to save you i went to save you we did all went to save you yeah. I don't believe I saw much from yourself, I'm wrong. I was stood stood stood right there. Right next year, but okay. I wasn't near you. It was my L before it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. No, no, no. It's fine. This is fun. I need just three minutes of silence, please. I haven't done the spell before. I don't want to fuck it up because I think we could all do with a good night's sleep. Yes, but were you not taught to go to bed with things like this resolve? Yeah, I know, but this is the last bit of the spell. I don't know what... Let me just...
00:24:04
Speaker
Can it be cast now, Danny? Is it done? Is it done? Please. So, Park, the first time you have cast this spell, what does Seth's tiny hut look like? I've taken some artistic license, as you can expect from me, Danny. I put some items in it, but if any of it is... um It's not on the spell, but I... That's not what the rules say. I'll say they just can't come out of it. OK, cool. Yeah, it's fine. It's just a few things to make it less like ah a bubble on the in the desert. um ah colored bubble in the detector. So um again, if any of it is, is I should have just checked this by before, but this is more fun. um I'll say it and then you can remove it. Anyway, um so from the outside, it does look externally just like a large, it's kind of rock colored, so it looks like a big gray blob ah that's perfectly spherical in shape. But on the inside, what just appears around it firstly is this this um large hut gets bigger and bigger, this red wispy hut gets bigger and bigger and bigger until it reaches the extremities of um the 10 feet radius.
00:25:02
Speaker
perfect spherical shape up and round and then suddenly both becomes solid but transparent from the inside and gray from the outside and inside then what kind of wisps out of the ground and up are a series of hammocks that line the kind of hang off the walls almost of the of the dome and in the center again kind of wisps out of the ground red wisps form and a chair sorry a table with a small lantern on

Baal's History and Kingdom's Stability

00:25:26
Speaker
and a bunch of stools around it um for conversing and That was kind of it, just to make it less like a bubble on the side of a road. Any artistic qualities, any heraldry, any insignia? Surge. It's a real throwback to um his barracks. Is it Surge, specifically Hailstorm Surge, or is it Sleet Guardian? Because the two are separate. Sleet Guardian. It's the Surge. um So there might there was nothing overtly
00:25:56
Speaker
heraldry of it. But that's where he's got it from is from the surge barracks, which is all he really knows of a place that can hold this number of people that isn't a pub. Wow, a meth lab. ah What? Just, I'm the culture at lab. Yeah, there you go. It doesn't have a fire, but um ah yeah it's warm. So it won't get cold in the night for the desert and ah is hammocks to sleep. As it stands, there are six, six of you inside here, trunks just outside and the prisoner car outside with your wagon around it as well. ah Rains would have just stopped Alpha before they go in and we'd have gone. ah we Okay, QDark was a slippery, slippery. Oh, I would just i'd lean over to Alpha and say, you're going to hear lots of things probably come out in this, but QDark was a slippery sight.
00:26:52
Speaker
and um We probably couldn't trust his words anyways, but we know one thing through his actions. And it's something you need to really think about. He, uh, hadn't come for me. He come for you. I was under that impression, the note that he was carrying on his person. There was one person he wished to return and only one. Yeah.
00:27:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:27:28
Speaker
I will not lie, Rains, the thought of departing from your company does fill me with sorrow, but it has also crossed my mind as a matter of keeping you safe amongst everybody else here. Alfred, have you ever stopped to wonder why we left Shadowman? The one thing that we cannot have happen is you fall into the hands of the car, Donald and my grandfather. just We can't let it. I am not saying I would return home, but just merely dissolve myself from your company. oh As I reinstate, it is not a thought I take lightly. It is not a path that I would
00:28:18
Speaker
prefer to pursue, but it is still one that has crossed my thoughts. It will keep you all safe. I seem to be caused of so much conflict within the group.
00:28:34
Speaker
I mean, out for the brains brains will look around. condi go We're all we're all but a lot of air cleaned here. I'm going to let everyone else chip in on this. um look Look, they know why you can't go back. They know that my grandfather would try to forge Nakavolo in his own image, and that's that's just a horrifying thought. Alpha, I don't think you're safest and we're all safest together. I don't think there's anything good that comes from you separating from us. I would have imagined that is how you would feel. But there are other people here who may have different feelings. Alfa, who here do you think is going to want you to leave? I do not know. But there is a danger that comes with my company.
00:29:26
Speaker
If everybody is content in still me being here, that is my preferred choice. but
00:29:34
Speaker
Part of me does feel that if a unanimous decision is made to disbar me, then I would oblige. allfpha if you're thinking about what happened today. I got off the car and I'm sure Seth would agree. He got off the car as well. What happened today is on us. That ain't on you. we we We fucked up today. Don't don't be blaming yourself for what happened today. Plus, what you ended up actually doing today saved on us is definitely saved on us. I appreciate it, but it was not my doing, merely somebody controlling my actions.
00:30:07
Speaker
And upon the assassin attempting to take myself, anybody who was responsible in bringing him down, you have my utmost thanks. It is wholeheartedly appreciated, but this may only be a start. You have a very powerful family, Rains." This ain't a problem. Rains has kind of said but we're all friends here, and he's now speaking. it Rains has everything he said, just ah yeah just to answer what's happening in the chat right now. This is a public conversation.
00:30:36
Speaker
Alfred, what the fuck? Nah, no one wants you to go. You're part of this crew. Like, you're one of the original all parts of this crew as well. Like, far beyond even my tenure here, you're one of the original trio. Ain't nobody want you to go. I've never felt threatened around you. Like, I feel perfectly safe. So, you've got some baggage. And maybe people are after you. People have been around and after each one of us at some point. We just need to stick together and have each other's backs. Don't be going all melancholy on us just because you might put us into danger. if We can take care of ourselves and we'd look after you to boot. I don't think might is the matter here. it is
00:31:31
Speaker
I believe a definitive fact that more trouble and more dangers will come. i think if you're not here we still fall into danger and trouble like i have these adventures by myself when i just follow another party member out and i get myself into this shit that's not whether you're here or not here that just seems to be something that happens Nix does have a point. People know that we're here, Alfa, and that we're we're making a bit of a ruckus and a name for ourselves. And it has to be said that you going off on your own doesn't lessen our danger. And importantly, it doesn't lessen yours either. We're safer to together. And going from what Reins has told us, if they get their hands on you, we will be an even bigger danger. You're safer with us.
00:32:19
Speaker
I've promised you before I will always have your back. I have so far always had your back. You don't need to go anywhere. I was going to just look around the group and then I am unaware of certain happenings that may have gone on for today. And I do apologize if I was the cause of any of it, but
00:32:47
Speaker
I am very grateful to have you all here. While we may disagree on certain things, it is nice to know that there are a select few people who I can very much rely on. I will of course do my utmost best to try and protect you should the situation arise as well, and that goes for all of you.
00:33:13
Speaker
at that set's going to stand up and run towards alpha um and as he gets close you're going to see like a little snarl and in his lip alpha but then it's going to drop into a smile he's going to give a big hug and he's going to hug you really tight and be like
00:33:31
Speaker
There's a slight hesitation. I'm really not doing well in myself. I'm very injured, so I'm going to go to bed and him he's whispering this to you everyone can hear i'm going to go to bed in a minute because I'm really unwell. but ah
00:33:47
Speaker
We got you. You're okay. You can stay. It's okay. I can stay. I'm just gonna lie on the floor and have a little sleep. Don't wake me. Just as you try and pull away, Alpha's gonna pull you back in with just a little bit more of a... You're very strong, aren't you? A war-forged hug. Careful, I've only got two hit points. Goddamn, man. Get me out! Yeah, let's go, let's go. Thank you, sir. And he's gonna clump onto the floor. And he's going to be like, not even in a hammock, just in the sand on the floor. I i want to pick him up and put him in a hammock then. um Oh, don't put me down, mummy. I am not your mummy, but somewhere comfier may be better for your rest. And then that'd be tough for the night. I'm just going to go and check on the prisoner.
00:34:44
Speaker
And mix all. Vacate. and go up near Drago. Okay. We'll follow that, but unless any of the other four are following Nix. Sorry, I would just wake up for a second and go, oh, I'll do a watch. So someone, well, wake me later, maybe. I will. Well, do any of you have anything else you want to do? Otherwise you could begin your rest. um um'm right Go and get some supplies and use the hours time within it just to
00:35:16
Speaker
Make sure they've got some of the supplies out the cart and that kind of stuff, so. There's something Bal definitely wants to do. Bal, do you want to come in now? Kill everyone. ah yeah ah No, I'll go after, I'll go after what Nix? Nix, you exit the ah tent, the hut, sorry, and head over to the prisoner's cart. As soon as he exits the tent, he's got to exhale the biggest held breath known to man as the tension was threatening to overcome him and he finally gets out and goes... oh And the really awkward thing is, whilst he can't hear what's going on inside, we can hear everything that happens outside. Because of what how Tiny Hook works, is you look you can turn around and you can't see inside the tent, but we can see out, which is the hilarity of it all.
00:36:01
Speaker
Nix gets his cock out and takes a piss up against the tent. Nice. Doesn't penetrate. Oh, actually, now, would Urine, because Urine was cast, was inside him when the spell was cast, and Now we're asking the big questions. so He exhales a big breath ah to release a load of tension and then carries on walking to Dribbo. Dribbo at this point, the the
00:36:29
Speaker
The fabric lining that's inside the the metal cage is sort of torn in so many places, he's just looking at you.
00:36:38
Speaker
I thought you'd need some company. ah We've all kind of laid down for the night, so saves you being out here on your own, the fact that you're a prisoner and all. Who knows who could just kind of slide a line up and and take you? It's not like you could break out of there, though you sure seem capable enough to take control of of someone. But regardless, I am here to to watch over you and ah yeah.
00:37:20
Speaker
Chipotle just sort of motions two hands, thumbs up. And then with his right hand extends a the index finger to point at you and then makes the okay symbol and then shrugs. Am I okay? He nods.
00:37:43
Speaker
I really want to answer that right now I mean you know yourself what's been going on like there's some layers and and some depth say that I don't need a I need to dig into it's it's fine it's fine like you know we used to have disagreements on the ship sometimes you know like well I mean it was handled a little bit better like then but because the captain probably. knew what he was doing and like our group but still you know it's it's okay some sometimes things happen don't they i mean sometimes things happen doesn't mean we have to kill each other but that doesn't mean that we can't get along in the future and can't make headway or do something like that but just normally we'd make them walk the plank but we can't do that here because there's no water but maybe maybe in snake run oh if we get a ship because range is talking about doing a ship we could
00:38:29
Speaker
perhaps best manage ourselves better. I don't know. Sinks seem to be a little bit easier on the water at times than they do on the land. And every time I think that we make headway, there's always a couple of steps back. And for so what or whatever reason, I seem to be a part of it. And my name gets cropped up quite a lot, even though I try and ah control it. I don't know. Yeah, I'm fine. Fine. Hey, I'm not the one in a cage. He nods.
00:39:00
Speaker
i mean We'll be fine. We'll be fine. We'll just carry on and ah things will be said and and feelings will mend and we'll just be a crew, a proper crew. I see that, I i do. Genuinely, I see it, ah I think. It just needs but to understand who's back. we're looking out for here ourselves or people we don't know. What's the what's our one goal and and what's our common cause? In the ship, we always had a common cause and and we always had rules. Those rules were to protect all of us and the crew and to make sure that the ship prospers because when the ship prospers, we all prosper.
00:39:57
Speaker
Like said. you know
00:40:01
Speaker
when you ask that rhetorical question, responds and just puts both hands over his heart and makes a heart symbol. And then with his right hand just taps the side of his temple to infer, to think.
00:40:19
Speaker
I don't know what my heart wants. If that's what you're asking. This weird game that we're playing here.
00:40:30
Speaker
Think about my heart.
00:40:34
Speaker
He frowns a bit that you're not understanding. Oh, he's never really good at this. We didn't play these sort of games on the ship. Didn't get a lot of acting. They didn't always have limbs, you see. it was It's hard to do signs without without two hands. He does not as a symbol. He shrugs and then performs a steering rudder of a ship, steering wheel of a ship. And it looks at you quizzically. Is that where my heart is on the Esmeralda? I'm really not getting this. Shakes his head and again, gestures the same.
00:41:26
Speaker
I mean, Let's try it this way. Telepathically, I open up a connection and ah with my feature,
00:41:40
Speaker
which is Awaken Mind. Look, come on. you You were just talking through Alpha a moment ago. Maybe this will help. Is there any verbal component to this or is this all with your mouth shut? All with my mouth shut. He's looking at you confused.
00:42:02
Speaker
Gay, that's probably the ah out loud now. Probably the magical barrier. ah Follow my heart. Nods enthusiastically. Follow my heart. And then does a index finger pointing upwards, creating a circle, trying to have like a gesture of of all
00:42:37
Speaker
I didn't think that I'd be getting this when I came to to ah take a watch by you. It's been a very long day and I'm trying to fill in the blanks here. It's very one-sided. He sort of rolls his eyes and comically looks at this cage around him. Will you want me to let you out? Shakes his head. Because I can't do that.
00:43:06
Speaker
I've got follow my heart. But I don't know what that means to me. I haven't sat long enough and figured out what's in my heart. I've just kind of just gone with the flow. You can't fight against the tide for too long. Sometimes you've got to surrender to it and and just carry on. Which is what I'm doing here. It's what I'm doing right now. Following the tide and the flow of it in the hopes that we come to some safer waters.
00:43:40
Speaker
As long as I don't die in the process, I've been, you know, done it before. I'd rather not die at one of my, my friend's hands. The moment you say friends, two thumbs go up.
00:43:59
Speaker
but All you in the tent is hearing this exchange because it's not particularly that far. And just, you, yeah most of you have an angle where you're seeing this performance back from Dribbo.
00:44:15
Speaker
Follow my friends. Nods enthusiastically and then makes the heart symbol.
00:44:23
Speaker
and
00:44:26
Speaker
And... Find their hearts. Follow my friends' hearts. Follow... Half nodding. Follow... Someone's got a big heart and we need to follow it. Nods. Who's got a big heart and we need to follow it? Points to everyone in turn. Well, I can't see what points, points at you and then points a lot to places around the heart.
00:44:54
Speaker
I don't know what's the heart of this group. I could be Raines, could be Alpha. I don't know Baal enough, could be Baal. Seth, I'm sure that there's layers there. Then he produces six fingers. goes back to the heart.
00:45:24
Speaker
I don't know what the fuck you're smoking, Dribbo. I feel like this is this needs to be more of a two-way thing. six Six in a heart. I like to think this goes back and forth for a little while while Baal is just sort of itching at the bit to to do something.
00:45:45
Speaker
Uh, so when Nick's leaves the tent, uh, leaves the area, the bubble, whatever you want to call it, um, he's going to give it kind of a second as he steps outside. Is it, am I right in thinking that inside this bubble, we can't be heard from outside? and standard is ridiculousness Yeah. Okay. Uh, he's just going to quickly look to Emron and say, Emron, I just need a quick answer. Can I trust you?
00:46:16
Speaker
Of course you can, assuming we don't continue to murder folk who can't defend themselves. Insight check, if you will, please. Okay. We'll roll, sorry, poo bear, roll this um off yeah any sharing platform or just roll a straight d20. Yeah, roll d20, I'm not sure what. Add to your honesty or your dishonesty in your head and then give us the number.
00:46:48
Speaker
Uh, 60 26. Okay. Yeah, you do you think what everyone said is is quite clear. yeah he He said, yes, you can trust him. And then obviously said, as long as we don't go around murdering people who can't defend themselves. ah he you You look into him and he you get the sense that what he's saying there is is is the crux of exactly what he needs to, what what of of what he's he's sticking to. Okay. ah He key kind of looks like that into your eyes, almost into your very soul and reads that, looks at the rest of the group and goes,
00:47:24
Speaker
There's something that I've been wanting to release for a while, and his eyes will flick out to Nick's. Something that I don't necessarily want shared, something that the winged watch themselves want to know. I mean, what, so they've asked you? No. I know something they don't, and I trust the people within this circle. And I love Nix. I do. I think he's chaos. I think he's fun. But he has shared the sovereign mother's words. He has blurted at every opportunity. And I don't know if I can trust him with what I'm about to reveal. He also wasn't, I mean, he wasn't there when Reinsertum was he? But I don't know. But I do know you told me he was imprisoned. We go into camp.
00:48:20
Speaker
He's no longer in prison. Yeah, that was weird. The fact that he he was in prison, and they they sounded like they didn't want to let him out, I thought we were going to have to bust him out, honestly. um And you're right, he was then let out. Paul's going to quickly just kind of kneel down and pick up ah like a pebble if there's one on the floor and just fling it at Seth, not in an aggressive way, but just to wake him up. I can't get me, officer. It wasn't my fault. But I will just say, Eksharoth, and cast Healing Word on you, just give you a little bit of ah little bit of a boost to your health, because I know you said you were injured as fuck. That's the good shit. Yeah, brains will see this and just go, Alfred, I'm all out from patching people up after the fight. Have you got anything you can give to poor Phil? So what you're saying? Yes, of course. I'll run over to myself. I'll let you know. Are you concerned about Nyx, Bart?
00:49:15
Speaker
No, I'm not. I trust him in the sense that he has our back. I just don't trust him with information right now. Okay, Seth. We're talking about how Nick's can't keep his fucking mouth shut. That's exactly what we're talking about. And I'll cast another eye to the side and and see this conversation is easy. He's ah vehemently discussing things with... He's probably telling the prisoner all about his ship and shit and everything that we've ever done in the world. I wouldn't want to tell him anything. Oh, Alpha, I feel better. It feels like 13 points of healing has gone through my body. It's all of a potent self. It is. It is. Nix is... Nix is always a bit... Chaos is the word. Yeah, you picked that out really well. I mean, when we knew him, when we first met him, it was...
00:50:12
Speaker
Okay. When we first... Well, no, you need to know about him. Okay. When we first met him, Alpha, you remember this, and it rains you warm. Do you remember after we dealt with that stuff in the basement, we got transported to that other realm?
00:50:35
Speaker
Yes. And Nix's patron, nix is something that gives Nix his power, had to take Nix through some tests. The ones he failed, yes. And he failed them? Yes. If I recall, he fell off a rather large statue attempting yeah to retrieve a large balloon sapphire. He was he was he was being greeted. And you've got that sapphire, don't you? Yes, yes, yes, I do. And he's still not my person.
00:51:06
Speaker
Okay, yeah. Alpha doesn't know you've taken that. Yeah, you nicked it off him. Yeah, you stole it. Yeah, you Mirot nicked it and gave it to you. Mirot nicked it. There we go. Thank you. Mirot took it and gave it to you. Because you're shitting nicking things off people. We know this. Yeah. Sorry, back in the room. Yeah, so this creature
00:51:29
Speaker
this being spoke to us, didn't you, saying that, you know, if they if we failed, you know, there were risks and stuff to do with our souls. And it was all a bit complicated. And he said that mine was protected by another being, which is probably till while we just didn't know about that back then. And anyway, Nick's failed and gave his patron gave us this horseshoe. They gave you if I recall. Gave it to me, saying that I was to be his compass and that Nick needed to learn from me, blah, blah, blah. And if I brought the cup, brought the horseshoe, Nick's would lose his power. Anyway, not so long after Nixon Marotta, who was also accompanied us, fell off a cliff and we thought we're dead. Mm hmm. Several months pass and I keep the horseshoe. It doesn't disappear, which, you know, always made me think maybe it was back.
00:52:19
Speaker
And when Nix and Marotta returned, you know they were changed by whatever had happened to them. And Nix seemed to change, and everything we went through. And I gave it ah gave it to him, because I felt like Nix had changed. But part of me is seeing more of the original Chaos Nix now than when he came back. This is all fascinating, and and I can understand that maybe there's a bit of mistrust there as well. Don't get me wrong. I love Nix. I love the chaos. I just figured you should know the new, the whole story. I do. And again, I appreciate that. It's just that I don't trust him with the information that I need to give you now, Seth. You've seen something, something of my past and reigns you've revealed. You've put your cards on the table. It's only fair that I see something similar. Now,
00:53:17
Speaker
As you've probably worked out, Shondralakar is not my mother. She isn't the one that birthed me. She was the sovereign mother. She is the one that took me in. My mother was Gailfather Sleet. You will not know her by that name.
00:53:42
Speaker
And what Baal's going to do is as he's speaking, is there a lantern on the table? Was I right in thinking? Correct. Yeah. Excellent. ah What Baal can do with control flames is he can make images appear in the flames and things like that. So he's as he's talking, what he's going to do is he's going to make these um These images appear within it. You're going to see, uh, cause you can change the colors of it as well. So inside the fire, it's just going to increase in size and the brightness is going to increase in the tent. And you're going to see this image of this ancient golden dragon or this kind of, a yeah it's only kind of the faint outline, but it's definitely golden and like dazzling somewhat. And he creates that image and he creates another image of, uh, kind of a small dragon born beside it as well. Um, and.
00:54:29
Speaker
ah He'll say, Gailfire,
00:54:36
Speaker
she gave me everything I am. And you'll see this kind of dragon almost breathing fire, breathing life into this dragonborn figure in front. And she did everything she could to protect Sleepguard. I don't know if you're aware. But every one of the kingdoms has a matriarch, a dragon matriarch, to look after it, to fend off the forces of evil. It is a pact that predates your kings, your queens. They do not venture venture into each other's realms, lest that would create war.
00:55:20
Speaker
And whilst he's kind of talking about this, he's going to make these images similarly appear within there.
00:55:27
Speaker
And when the blight arrived, rightly so, my mother went to defend the kingdom. And what he's going to do is he's going to make this black figure appear within the flames, tall black figure and this massive ah figure of ah a flying golden dragon coming down towards it and you'll see this dragon kind of felled by the black figure within the fire and just there resting on the floor and you're going to see this
00:56:03
Speaker
image of this ancient golden dragon decay and corrupt and turn black and re-rise. And you're going to see it kind of rising up out of the fires and kind of spreading black filth among you, almost corrupting the flame that he's showing there. She was felled in her attempt. Our brood was left without a mother. The blight was made stronger. in her absence. Many of her eggs were stolen by other dark forces.
00:56:44
Speaker
And she was felled by people you regard as heroes. And she's going to kind of try to ah he's going to try to draw images of the the kind of the Battle of the Blight, if you like, the last few images. And Seth in particular, you'll see what he's trying to create is the image that you saw during that pact with Prago as well. Massive kind of armies fighting going on. it's It's not pristine, it's kind of outlines and things like that, but he's going to redraw that as he goes. And he's just going to say, and we were left with...
00:57:18
Speaker
No purpose, no mother for protection. We had few options among us, some, myself included, fled. I feel shame about it now, but I fled the broad border and I was taken in by Shondra Lekar. And but two years ago, sent back to my realm to cleanse the lands of the Blight. I found what remains of her. And he's gonna withdraw from his back, that slab, that like kind of, and you can see it close up now, still a flame. The moment he takes out from the cape, it is just burning still, but the flame isn't hot at all.
00:58:01
Speaker
This is the only memory I have of her now. I like to think she's still protecting me. The spirit I summon is still a part of her, I can feel it, but, And this is, I suppose, why I'm telling this to you now. Without a dragon matriarch, the region is unstable. It could be years, decades, centuries before another rises to enough power to fill that place. And in that void, other things will strive for right. It is said that any time a new kingdom is forged,
00:58:44
Speaker
there will be a dragon matriarch to take its place, to be there, to watch over it, protect over it. We found out, not four days ago, of two new kingdoms, that is a massive power vacuum, sleet guard, is still able to be taken over, I am sure of it, and the abcriska, Taking the eggs. I don't know if they are what's stolen from the brood of my mother, but we know they were stealing from the brood of Chandrallaka. You have said before, you have seen dragons attacking Goldview. Do you think they were trying to create the raw matriarch? He kind of shrugs and raises an eyebrow.
00:59:36
Speaker
connection I'm making, I do not know, I cannot say for sure. What I do know is, and he points up to the disc in the sky, yes, that spells bad business for a lot of reasons, but this is bigger than any of us. That And the new kingdom recently forged implies there is going to be a void to be filled. And I have reason to believe it is the abciscara that currently hold all the cards. This, I am sure, is what the winged watch wanted to know. They did not know about Shondralakar. They said the last dragon they had seen was enslaved in chains. And Baal's getting a bit kind of angry about this.
01:00:28
Speaker
I don't know how valuable that information is, but it is not something I wish to be shared lightly, but in light, any points to you reigns of your revelation. This is mine.
01:00:45
Speaker
That's a lot to process there, Bob. Couldn't understand why you don't want Nick's blabbing that about. And I would appreciate it if Maybe until I'm certain he can be trusted. We don't. New rule. What goes in the hut stays in the hut. I am can't believe I'm the one about to say this, but I don't think Nix is dishonest. I mean, he can be dishonest, but I don't think he's inherently dishonest. I i don't think he is.
01:01:23
Speaker
it's isn't it I think he tries to be good, but i think i think he I think it's the other way around. I think you want to say he's good, but he's actually dishonest. I think actually he's dishonest and tries to be good, personally. His heart is in the right place, but his mind is... All over the fucking shop. And like I said, I fucking love it. But that is a liability. We do understand that he's crossing two realms of iconic magical capacity, ah I did assume that, yeah. It's probably quite a bit of difficulty that he's trying to comprehend and understand. I don't know a lot about a lot of stuff until recently, but I can assume that might fuck with one's personality ever so slightly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not backing him up. I agree with you, M1, for once. And I agree with you, Paul. I agree. He's something, somewhat of a loose cannon to use that lightly, but not alpha's cannon. Obviously, that doesn't work.
01:02:18
Speaker
You know, again in the Dustworth. And I'm joking, Alva, I love you, you know? I don't hug much. I do not think my cannon will be appropriate in this situation. No. But what I'm getting at is that ah think I think we can trust him as far as we can throw him. And I don't think we can throw him to Slootguard yet. So I don't think we tell him. He he is good. I do believe he is good. Our Wilmington got the cards with him and he defended. He defended us to the hilt. But I just don't think he knows when to shut the fuck up. Simple. I don't think it's good or bad morality thing. I think he just likes to talk. So if we give him less things to talk about, then he doesn't talk as much. Yeah, but there comes a point where yeah we've just spoke about unity and we're we're actively sowing things that
01:03:07
Speaker
that seem to be disharmonous. I don't think, I think he'll be hurt, if not annoyed by the fact that we're choosing to keep such a big thing from him. It's not my, I'm not gonna tell him. I know he won't, but he's gonna have to, that chicken's gonna have to come home the roof at some point. Don't get me wrong, I ain't gonna go out there and tell him. It's not my business, Bob, this is your business. But I would just say, Don't leave him in the dark too long. It's I Don't think he'll take it. I don't think he'll be angry, but I can see him being hurt. That's all I'm saying. I and I see a hundred percent I Do When and if the time becomes right and when it becomes relevant for him to know he can know but I
01:03:59
Speaker
I cannot guarantee that he will not simply shout this to a stranger if he sees the tattoo of a dragon. That's just how his mind seems to work. It'll be like, hey, you could be the next major like a sleep guard. Wanna run a sleep guard? I could help you. You know, he'll be like that. And again, and he'll do it for our benefit. I cannot stress this enough. I love that about him, but fuck me, is it dangerous?
01:04:26
Speaker
but I can see why it was important you told us so far. I did wonder about why there was a massive skeleton dragon in that vision. But, you know, one doesn't pry when one doesn't, you know, one is making a pact with the devil, you know? And this, again, the fact that you didn't pry is one of the reasons why I trust you, Seth. Hey, you know, we've all got skeletons in our closet. Yours is just huge. It's a little insensitive. You left yours behind, back on the road, you know, that the thing you create. i's suck Oh fuck, what was that? set face that would stop at that He's going to point at you. You you've brought that thing back from the dead. That was you. Seth's going to kind of struggle to find words. I can't talk about it. That was definitely necromancy though.
01:05:21
Speaker
But that was ah was what you had sworn to destroy, Seth. You you yourself and talk about the the blight returning. You talk about your need to vanquish the undead. You brought that thing into being.
01:05:41
Speaker
I'm tired. but but Let's do this another day. I'm tired. There is a lot of that going around. um just ah will I will tell you, I'm not going to hide this from you. I don't think I have the energy now. While I will spill all, I promise, but I'm tired. I just need to sleep.
01:06:09
Speaker
I was just going to stand there in silence for a bit, kind of nodding, mulling things over in his mind. And you'll see if Seth's like literally aged as you, not like, um not like actually age, but like, it's like the weight of it has just kind of hit him again and he's, yeah, sorry. I'll be with Trunks. Just got to pass on the information and I'll head outside. Okay. The four that remain inside the hut.
01:06:44
Speaker
Is there anything you want to do? Seth, I assume you're straight back down. Well, he'll start to and then he'll he'll watch Ball leave and then not as comically as Nick did, but he'll also let out like ah like an exhalation of his body and his shoulders would just sag down a bit. He'll properly remove the um the strap which holds his um spell book and plonk that down, thudding to the floor next to him as his limbs seem heavy and he'll just start to kind of limber back up to get into the hammock. We're all here, Reans, and I can leave if you want me to. No, it's not nothing. It's information you already know, but alright I kind of feel like this is information overload, but we can do this now. Alpha, not just my family looking for you, there's another complication on on the Royal lineage. Range will just reach into the Bag of Holding, prize it apart, and it's going to pull out the
01:08:00
Speaker
the plate armor, breastplate, which has the... Do you recognize this insignia? It's the insignia of Sleetguard to you, but it looks slightly different to what you've seen before. Oh, okay. I've got to say, you're holding up nothing. I can't read into your mind. um It's roleplay, can I get into it? It is similar to the Sleetguard insignia, but it's slightly modded. It's the... official insignia of the sacred secret god of king leopold sleep god those sleep guardians are sworn directly to the king of sleep god and where have you procured this from their cold dead bodies since where you wanted since you wanted to know but the important thing here alpharism where i got it it's the fact that they too were looking for you
01:09:03
Speaker
As I said, there are many dangerous people looking for me, and it will appear the heights seem to know no limits.
01:09:15
Speaker
This is most concerning. I was going to tell you on the watch, but yep, I mean, we're all friends here, and Seth has gone to sleep by the looks of it. But Emron already knows, so i'm up there's nothing new to tell Emron here. But when you said about going off on your own, Alfred, you have to stay with us. I just but that just want to make that clear because we have to... and so I was wrong when I said we're not at liberty to to wander off in the door on things and that we're attached to something bigger. Because I think that's more specifically that you're attached to something bigger. And whatever's happening,
01:10:01
Speaker
So much of this seems to gravitate around you and what you are. We've just got to be careful of the company we keep. Very well. I will of course stay with all of you and defend and fight as best as what I am able.
01:10:23
Speaker
But I have a personal request.
01:10:28
Speaker
You are scared of what other people may do with the knowledge of my being. If they are able to replicate the construct that you have created, then the very world itself could be in danger. Is that correct? It's a question to understand, but you know. Yeah, yeah but but but keep in mind that You, from day one, had a base level of artificery that you took from me. no I'm just worried about the wrong person creating Nakavolo in their own image. That's all. Which is why my existence must be kept for the time being as a singularity.
01:11:10
Speaker
I mean, it's not not about singularities, Alfred. Because you don't exist singularly. We know that now. We met Magnus, don't forget. who unfortunately has nothing left, and only mere rumors of another one possibly in Scorchel. There may be more and like me, but there could possibly only be one of me. The request is most simple but quite daunting, and I do apologize for asking this of you.
01:11:44
Speaker
But the very idea that I may be taken apart, studied, and reconstructed for terrible purposes is not a future I had planned for myself, whether I am around for it or not. If time comes, I may need to be destroyed, and it could possibly be under your hand it happens.
01:12:11
Speaker
if this is something to do with the secret guard you know more than most they will not hesitate they will not stop they will keep pursuing and possibly with greater numbers and more dangerous fighters it could become too much and the only plausible solution could be to stop giving them something to pursue problem is is if we ever know
01:12:40
Speaker
situation where we need to talk about ending you alpha because things are too threatening there's a chance alpha's already dead and it's already gone to fuck anyway
01:12:58
Speaker
This is possible. And should that opportunity arise where it is just me, I would not hesitate. I do not believe brains, whether in mind, body or spirit, thought that my body could be used for something other than admiration and artificery, then... I mean, you were designed to fight the Blight Alpha. Indeed. I am a dangerous thing.
01:13:24
Speaker
Even more so if there were more of me. Yeah, but what makes you you was I don't want to say it I don't mean to yeah he always felt like a bit of a fluke I won't lie. The memory rule working was like how many did we try reigns hundreds? We tried a fair few. They varied from not working to blow my eyebrows off. But it has worked with other constructs. We see other Machavolo. There are other people who have been able to construct versions, variations of myself. Or maybe i'll find them. but I don't know. I agree. you There's a lot we don't know. There's a lot that when I placed that memory room into your chest, I wanted to work, that we didn't know what was going to happen. I didn't know you were going to become sentient. I didn't know that you were going to have
01:14:17
Speaker
the ability to philosophize, to debate, to to moralize, to the to to the standard that you can. I didn't know about the love you'd have for stories. I didn't know about your personality, Alfred. I certainly they didn't know that you were going to choose the name Alfred. And you think back to when we first a arrived in the sleep garden. We were sat in that shop before we went to take care of that invisible creature underneath. And we got our first job. And you asked me about what you are. And I said, well, you pick the name Alpha and the celestial meaning of the word Alpha is that you light the way. You're something for others to follow.
01:15:03
Speaker
And without necessarily, if you were to ask me, my opinion of you, Alpha, is
01:15:14
Speaker
Machavolo is that that the the the the box that's been opened, the war force built to fight the Blight. Yes, you were built to be an instrument, ah you were you were built to save the world from the Blight, but the personality, that that the that that the who you are, it's an amalgamation of a series of infinite miracles, Alfred, just like any other life form, just what you are. and You're more than a Nakavolo. You're youre you're you. You are Alpha. I didn't pick that name for you. Emran didn't pick that name for you. You you you picked that name. And you picked the name that is steeped in leading the way for others on a celestial sense. Now, I don't know if it's something in the memory room that tugged at you to give you that name.
01:16:08
Speaker
or I don't know that that's completely organic to you. ah can't I can't speak to that, Alpha, in the same way that you started saying princess, in the same way that, I don't know, I have really weird dreams about home or we're talking about visions just now. Something happens on all of our subconscious. It it might just be that your brain or your your memory cortex, which is purely built but for memory because so much of your essence isn't contained in there, but my brain is part of my life essence. It's how I power my suit. literally charging it with electricity. Your brain has so much more capacity than that, which is why your memory is perfect. and that That much I think I'm starting to piece together about Macavolo anthropologics.
01:16:51
Speaker
However, all of this alpha is just me being a ranty ranty intelligently trying to figure things out elf. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe just about you that there's some things that perhaps aren't meant to be understood or rationalized that just meant to be discovered by you pursuing your path and being who you are? No. It is not something that has ever crossed my mind. But that spain's a lot. Apart from everything you must have logic.
01:17:32
Speaker
my my world is based on logic and understanding. The idea that there are things out there that I could not understand do infuriate. Look at it this way, 20 years ago magic was part of a big undefinable weave that could either be studied or it is a part of someone's being. The fact that that can be transmuted through inanimate objects, artificery as we now call it, that thing was Until a couple of very smart fire-gun assays and shadow-men started playing with that, no one knew what artificery was. It redefined what magic was. It redefined the the schools of magic, the the ability of transmutation.
01:18:17
Speaker
Alpha, you are walking living magic, much in the way that the fizzle-bangs are, did these these little sorcerer gnomes that you like reading about. you are a part ah magic Magic's a part of you as it is a part of them. and
01:18:30
Speaker
How can there be logic when you are literally living proof of redefining what conventional logic should be? It is only our understanding of it, in my opinion. You say you talk about logic, but this is just a part of it that we don't understand yet. There is a logic and sound base to everything. It just needs to be found. Okay. if i don't You may, go on.
01:19:01
Speaker
I have taken great interest in the disc in the sky as of late. There has been a thought that has been processing in my mind since our stay at gorel The armourer, who wished to talk and examine myself, and I agreed to do so in exchange for more Nakavoda information, brought to my attention that my issues such as princess and certain pain that comes with key phrases seem to have all originated from the appearance of that disc, and he's going to just gesture up towards it.
01:19:41
Speaker
I believe there is some form of connection between myself and that disc, and there can only be a logical one. The two can't be so coincidentally connected. Logical thought dictates that in some way I am connected to that disc. Alas, I do not know how. Perhaps that is the part of you that may say there are things we're not meant to understand, but I refuse to admit this. There will be a logical connection, and I must find out, even if I must somehow find a way to get up there. No, Alfa, that's something we very much need to understand. You're telling me that that disk is Nakavello technology, or at least that's what you've been led to believe?
01:20:29
Speaker
Perhaps not solely Nakavolo technology, but some form of artificery indeed. The coincidences do stack up to our first initial thoughts. I am older.
01:20:46
Speaker
how How much damage am I rolling? Take three points of lightning damage. And yes, I you hear... the I think that was uncalled for, Rains. um' I'm sorry, I didn't do it to hurt you. i did it to You really are connected. I know. You could have merely asked. I have experimented with the phrase myself already, and it's those words in that exact combination. You, Magnus, NC, and that thing. I mean, that thing didn't appear ah straight away when we met Magnus to all forget.
01:21:25
Speaker
no but those words. Those words were Magnus's. They were and you know that could just... And he too had an unusual control over myself. But Magnus was ancient and as we know from our research reigns, there was a time when Nakavodo were all across Aerith or whatever. if Yeah, i mean I mean, you're right. I mean, Magnus was, there's a lot we didn't understand about him and there's a lot of things that changed. Alpha had that interface and didn't do anything specific to Alpha, but then C went from the the the enhancements and then see what were twofold because of that thing. Look, Alpha, I promise I'm not going to do that. I'm sorry I shocked you, but I think there's there's something that Nixon Marro that said to you once that I questioned their intentions for saying it, but I've started to come to the realization that they were right. Which was?
01:22:24
Speaker
This is your story. You're at the center of it and whatever we're doing right now, you, you have a massive part to play. You can't go anywhere. We need you. Whatever we're up against. I think we need you to beat it. If this is truly my story, as you say, then I am glad I am not alone.
01:22:54
Speaker
ah yeah you won't ever be alone so long as I'm around hopefully that's some situations that will never come up if you would excuse me I am just wish to do some experimentation I'm just gonna like slowly walk out of the tiny hut and we're going to find a little area away from Baal and away from Nick to probably still playing charades with a prisoner um and I'm just going to kind of sit down um with a couple of objects around me.
01:23:30
Speaker
okay and we'll put you that in Low power mode, essentially. Yep, so yeah initiating part of that long rest. Yeah, yeah. Seth, we already have long resting. Balan, next look as though they're due to take the first watch. So, Reigns and Emeron, you're the only two still awake. Is there anything you wish to do before you conclude?
01:23:51
Speaker
You good? In what way, Reigns? It seemed... It's been a day, Emeron. It's been a day. I mean, we watched two of our party members once more kill someone we wanted to keep alive. So far, that's three attempts and two have been successful on a scale of killing people we were trying to keep alive.
01:24:22
Speaker
I mean, Kudox, as I said to people on the He was dangerous. Don't get me wrong. I told him. The same sort of action wants to kill him. I said that. I said that. Fair enough. If we're going to kill him, we should have just... The point is... I feel we needed him to talk to him. And I took an effort to save him. And they just killed him in front of me. Not for the first time. Let's not forget that Marotta then chose to kill that prisoner that we were kept alive.
01:24:54
Speaker
And then the last time there was someone I was trying to keep alive, you know, but I'll try to burn her alive. And then I believe, you know, in in a twist of irony, she is probably responsible for saving their lives. And then ours again, when we turned up to fetch the prisoner. So, you know, so I like my irony. Then we need to clear the air. You need to say your piece and make a decision as to whether we, the problem is is you can still travel. What happens next time when they decided to kill someone else?
01:25:28
Speaker
No, no, just pull a lot on the table. I've put a lot on the table. Emran, if you feel as if this needs clearing before we go any further, you just got to clear it. Which is fine, Rains, and I totally agree. I'm happy to wear it, but, you know... I hear what you're saying and I see what you're saying. If they let me speak, you know, after the bombardment earlier in the car,
01:25:59
Speaker
I hear you. I know how I feel, Reigns. There are two people.
01:26:07
Speaker
I don't, they don't sit right with me. And I know and I feel it'll happen again. Look, you know, Alpha, when we killed that prisoner and Marotta killed her, Alpha was quite apt with it. Nick's was quite apt with it.
01:26:28
Speaker
I mean, that the common denominator here is, but I mean, you can't blame Bao for the first one because Bao... No, no, it don't I don't. You can't blame Merola for the second one because Merola wasn't there. You want someone to square this out, baby. I don't want anyone to square out with rings. I want people to understand how I feel about it. All right, then come the morning before we set off, you got to say that. And it sounds like you need to really have that conversation with Nix as well, who has been the common denominator of both events. Not blaming Nix, by the way. I don't want to get on this and sound like I'm saying this is Nix's fault because it's ain't my beef. You've got something to say. But I feel like you should be pissed off as well, Reins.
01:27:15
Speaker
Are you happy with the fact that they killed him in that way?
01:27:23
Speaker
It's a tricky one, Emron.

Kidox's Motives and Moral Principles

01:27:25
Speaker
Because you were as annoyed as I was when they killed that prisoner. ah Look, that's the difference. Kidox could have run off with Alpha and taken him back to Shadow Man. He went down like a sack of shit, Raze. He was in no condition to run off. Which begs the question as to why he did it in the first place. He's even desperate. In fact, he must have been desperate or he must have been up to something because he damn sure as hell isn't stupid. So whatever he was up to,
01:27:50
Speaker
I don't think asking him would have got the answers from him either, because there ain't a word that came out of his mouth. There ain't a lie. But we could have known that he was telling the truth, or lying.
01:28:05
Speaker
I don't know why. I just think... The thing happened with Alfred, the thing in the scar being connected to him, it's
01:28:17
Speaker
I'm just saying that there's bigger things around this. There's bigger it's going to be a point reigns where are we going to face a situation where once again, we're in the situation where they're doing something that doesn't sit right with me.
01:28:34
Speaker
You got to say this to them. I will. And I fully expect to get a tirade of whatever back at me. Look, em and I will. I will defend you because of your moral compass. I don't need you to defend me, Rains. I just need you to understand. All right, fine. I will always empathize with what you do. You do from a position of having the most rigid and absolute moral compass, and I respect you for that. I respect that you're a man for your principles. I always have done. That's why I've loved having you around. You've taught me so much about morality and principles herself, and I actually think so much about
01:29:13
Speaker
wanting to understand logic, you don't get that from me, it gets that from you, that that that that that almost belligerent approach. You've you've always felt, I don't know, but my point is, I just feel like there's going to come a time again where this isn't going to sit right. And when I come from a long line of else, I'm pretty into in Britain. I mean, come on now, I'm not necessarily the best, you know, but there's a lot of things I have a lot of backed up trauma that can that can skew my moral compass or can make me sometimes a bit of an idiot or can make me say things that seem quite socially awkward. I've always relied on you to
01:29:54
Speaker
God, you know keep me straight, Imran. If you feel as if that you've got something you need to say here because it's not sitting with you and it's not allowing you to keep straight, then because we need you, Imran. I need you to be you. I need you to be who you are. and i can't but and We can't have you worried about what's happening around us. We need you worried about the thing in the sky. We need you worried about what's ever in scores home for us. so you got You got to clear this for you, Imran. I agree, but I'm worried that
01:30:27
Speaker
I'm worried that it just might not ever get cleared, Rains.
01:30:33
Speaker
All right, then this time you got to say it. No more murder and folk and cold blood. No more murder and folk and rage. And if we can all agree to not do that, then look, I think a lot of cards have been put on the table tonight. if I think you just got to lay yours on the table and just say what your hard lines are. Okay. And I will do. If I get, if I'm allowed to be heard out, then fine.
01:31:00
Speaker
Just don't leave with it, man. Don't ever stop being you, but just keep keep keep true to yourself, everyone, because... I'll always stay true to myself, Reigns. It just depends whether I can stay true to myself with the company we keep.

Emron's Dream and Episode Conclusion

01:31:13
Speaker
That of Chris Krega, I was right.
01:31:22
Speaker
I do after some times. Sorry. yeah yeah Sorry. It's okay. Yeah. I'll have to leave that there. Yeah. Yeah.
01:31:32
Speaker
So we approach the end of the evening. Seth reigns. Emron are taking the first stint of sleep. Baal and, well, Baal is essentially on active watch. Nyx doesn't sleep. Alpha only needs half. So we'll say that that is where the party are at this point. and Just as Emron, you begin to drift to sleep instantly.
01:31:59
Speaker
Your dream returns again in its entirety as you last experienced it. The events climbing towards the light, being positioned on the platform with this towering metropolis of chains above you, three other figures shrouded by this golden light surround you, a dragonborn, a human, and a dwarf.
01:32:36
Speaker
And as you again return to that moment of lucidity where you were able to take an act and try and step and reach towards the chains and ascend from this hung platform, this ascended platform, trying to fight against these winds, these impossible winds that are that are battering you, ereth, miles, miles below you. you succumb to the wind and are just propelled off the platform and at that moment when you just lose all grip you just see the the the human figure just scramble out to try and reach out to you extends their arm as far as they can and you are just out of grasp and as you are propelled at a rate of knots into the sky above ereth and begin to descend you feel yourself unable to summon
01:33:29
Speaker
tilwa it is It is you and only you in this moment. And you fall at a near terminal velocity. And just when you are about halfway towards reaching the surface, you fall for two, three, four continuous minutes. This figure with red wings, fiery red wings, just swoops in. and collects you and saves you from your fall.
01:34:04
Speaker
You are in flight, grappled by this figure who returns you to the tower that places you back on that chain. This figure stands unaffected by the wind at the center of that suspended platform, turns to you, raises a shield, The wind's stop and that fiery vortex that is now so shrouding this figure dissipates. And you just see Baal staring at you and says, well well, could you say the word go in a really dramatic voice?
01:34:49
Speaker
Go. And then you awake.
01:34:56
