And before we get to our situation in the lazy superhero world, I have a question for you.

ID's Morning in Augman

For me? Yeah. Oh, no. It's been a week on the buzzard.

What has ID been up to? but Let's start with like the first day you wake up. You fell asleep. You wake up the next morning. Kind of do a brief summary of what your first 24 hours on the buzzer's like. does Elsewhere have day and night?

It's weird. When you fell asleep, you're getting kind of like a warm golden glow from this fragmented plane that's bisecting the sky of what you now know as Augman, the plane that you're currently on, or the plane or fragment you're currently on.

Exploring the Buzzard's Rooms

When you wake up, that's dark now. So you kind of get the gist that day and nighttime cycles and elsewhere are kind of scrambled up because these planes seem to be on different day and nighttime cycles.

But you wake up and you feel pretty well rested, like you got a good night's sleep. So what do you spend the first day doing? Like, what are you doing in your new room and...

Well, first thing, I'm going to check every single other room in the hallway to see which one's the best. Okay. Yeah, you wake up and you go down this hallway and there are numbers on the doors, like how a hotel would have numbers on the doors.

And they're all in order. And you see on some of these doors, something you didn't notice yesterday when you're kind of walking around, you see locks on them.

Confrontation Over Locked Doors

And you could have sworn those locks were not there before. And they look different than the rest of the aircraft. Knowing who you are, I.D., you kind of put the pieces together and think like, oh, he put these on last night. This motherfucker. So he he may laid down some ground rules about you not getting into locked the doors or locked hatches or anything. So he went around and and locked additional doors.

but the doors you see that are locked are things like electrical room. Like you see like the old electrical room sign that was in this aircraft originally. And he told you that he doesn't you messing around with the equipment that's on the plane. So he put a lock on that door.

But the other rooms you look into, they're kind of the same as your room, except some of them are mirrored, like the beds in a different corner or whatever. There's a couple that have more windows because they're a little bit larger, like they're like a suite.

so some of them have two beds. Some of them have a bath versus a walk-in shower. so there's a couple different styles of rooms here. There's a couple that very, very small, cheap rooms, which just has, like, a bed and a bathroom, but there's no TV. They're very small rooms. It's, like, the most affordable rooms in the plane, you guess.

You can notice something else. You're kind of going down the tail section of this plane, and you finally get to the end of the aircraft, where instead of just ending, there's two doors.

Two person doors to the right and left at this kind of broad end to a hallway. And they both say office on them. These are not signs that were from the original aircraft because they look like Odie's handwriting, like laser engraved panels.

And they are very thoroughly locked. But you can look through a little, like, window in them, a little porthole window. can see that there's stairs just leading up. And you're not really sure where these stairs lead to because it's the tail end of the plane. Like, where can these stairs go up to?

But that's kind of like the dead end of this hallway. So, the door in which the stairs are behind. yeah i want to try and pick that lock. So, okay. So, fuck me.

Exploring the Ship's Facilities

Seven total? Yep. That's a mixed, right? Yep. So, how are you picking these locks? I should specify kind of lock this is. It is a lock. You know this door is locked.

But it is unlike the outer locks on the outer doors. The outer doors are like, they're not quite a padlock, but it's it's more of a standard looking mechanical lock that you would need a key for. This, you don't know what this lock is. you don't know what opens it.

There's no keypad. There's no thumbprint scanner. There's nothing like that. But there is heavy fixer tech on this door. A lot of it. How are you trying to pick this lock apart? which There's no like oh way to get key picker in there.

Okay. You should have mentioned that. I told you was a locked door a lot locks on it. a very sophisticated lock. Okay. How about we do this?

How about she doesn't try to unlock that lock, but the other locks are more simple, right? You have to like the electrical room and stuff. So you're not opening the office doors. Okay. There's two of them. like Yeah. Okay. So she's going to look down and then she's going to look around like, all I don't know how to get in here.

So she's going to go back down to the electrical room and pick that lock. and Okay. And that's more like a typical lock. you You're just sticking a lock pick in there. Okay. When you do that, and you start to creak that door open, it immediately slams shut and Odie's behind the door, kind of like watching you.

He was, you kind observing from some somewhere in this, and like nearby, but you're too preoccupied trying to pick this lock open. Miss Idy... Well, hello.

Good morning. Good morning. I guess. Is it morning? It is morning in Augman, yes. The day nighttime cycles in Elsewhere honestly do not matter anymore. What are you doing?

he takes you to like a second floor up a little flight of stairs, and there is a full kitchen. Like, you guessed that people on this ship were preparing meals for the crew, maybe some of the passengers that paid for a meal in flight.

This is a pretty full kitchen. And it's clean. It's almost sterile in here. Like it's it's a beautiful kitchen. I'm kind of surprised he didn't just rip that out because it's like he doesn't need it Doesn't need it. No, I'm just surprised. But like, why waste the time tearing shit out?

Yeah, there's like a fully like big kitchen here. And you notice that there is like some fruits on one of the counters here. he says, I suspected you might be hungry in the morning. So I went down where Gremly is and picked a bunch of fruits.

They are completely safe to eat. I verified that. Gremly eats these too. Yeah, but he also eats magic. He also eats magic, but there's no chemicals or anything. I did an analysis on on these, and there's nothing in here that could harm you.

Just don't eat too many of them. You might get nausea. I suppose that's common with a lot of fruits and new foods. Okay, Mom. I'm just saying what's but safe and not safe on this ship. Again, the purpose of the locked doors versus the fruit that is readily available to you.

Visit to the Market District

As I said, the water here is drinkable, but it's been sitting these pipes for who knows how long, so I would just let it run for a few minutes. And I didn't have those few minutes when you were you were having a panic attack.

Are there... And she's like, oh, is there cabinets? Yeah, I mean, there's dishes, utensils. Okay, so she she's gonna, like, grab a glass and, like, run her fingers in it to see if it's dusty or whatever.

rinse it but like yeah everything here has been like not used and who knows how long so so she's gonna rinse the glass out and then she'll fill it up and she'll take a sip how does the water taste not great but like it's water the water you drink from gremley's pool is actually it tasted so much more refreshing than this okay well considering where she's from Like well water, but like you can really taste the minerals or whatever. it Right. But so considering where she's would it taste that different than what she's used to? and you don't have metal pipes to carry your water. You had a well water. Sure. But like it could have had heavy minerals in it.

I know. It tastes kind of like copperish, like metallic instead stony. So it's a little bit different. Earthy taste. So that's the reason why asked you to run a few minutes. i I guarantee you it does not taste very pleasant.

Shopping in Elsewhere's Market

Okay, so like, you're spending day kind of exploring this ship. I have one more question. Okay. um One more question, though. Why were you spying on me? Miss Heidi? And how long were you doing it? I heard you get Were watching me sleep? No, I heard you get up and I was going to lead you to the kitchen for breakfast. From the other side of the plane?

From the other side of the plane, yes. You heard me get up. Okay, one thing I have to explain to you how fixers and their stations work. When I am plugged in, I become this place in a way.

I tap into all the technology here and I can hear everything. If there's cameras, with there's several cameras down this hallway and not in any of the rooms, but down the hallway so I can keep an eye on things, I can see everything.

I heard you get up. I saw you walking down the hallway, so I thought I would greet you. And there I found you. That's creepy. I guess in the way you see it, but the way fixers operate is normal.

We're gonna have to work at a schedule where you're not doing that while I'm sleeping. all right, so you're spending the first day exploring this ship. What is the place where Gremly lives? Is that called anything?

I have it on here as the garden. So, yeah, the part where Gremly's at, the big center of the ship under the wings is the garden. so you're spending your first day of exploring this ship, right? Oh, yeah. Okay.

Are you, like, exploring every nook and cranny that's not locked? Yep. Okay. And maybe some that are. You can successfully do a lock check without him fucking knowing about it and get in trouble. You're exploring this ship, and it's a big aircraft. Like, the majority of it is that garden, but you go up, and it is divided into big, like, four stories that are pretty spacious.

and the front of the plane kind of tapers a little bit, so there's only the two primary stories there. As you're exploring around, you explore it back to front, top to bottom. You see that there's like a library that is full of books written in different languages that you don't understand. And you guess that like just from the gist of this room that Odie has collected these himself from various worlds he's visited because he's just very curious and he has a few that are open on the desk that he's just researching different worlds and different creatures.

And this is not a locked room? It's not a locked room. Okay, it's a fair game. Yep. It's as many, many bookshelves. And you kind of guess that like this was formerly some additional passenger seating because you see areas where some seats have been ripped out of the floor and bookshelves have been put up.

There's still windows along the walls where people would look out and see, you know, as they're flying. But now they're just like there's bookshelves everywhere in this room. There's also different storage rooms and you go through them. And one of them is just like a walk-in closet with all these clothes.

And it's just like rows. It's like a department store. It's just clothes and clothes and clothes and clothes and clothes. Has she seen him wear anything but his leather jacket and whatever? Not yet.

I only know him for like a day, couple days. Yeah, that's true. But yeah, like this is essentially a closet. But like you see a lot of clothes in here that like, this might fit me. Maybe you can partake in his collection of clothes.

There's also like the central deck when you go down in there. And he mentioned this before. You find a workshop. It is a fully stocked workshop. There's tools and stuff in here. There's um some equipment, some saws.

There's tool rooms. And you see that some as equipment might have been, like, repurposed original equipment rooms to maintain the aircraft, because you see some equipment in here that was, like, maybe to fix the overhead crane that's in the central cargo area.

You see some piece of equipment that's come ripped apart that you can kind of guess that Odie maybe... scavenged some parts out of it. It looks like an old floor sweeper that they use to clean the floors of the aircraft, but it's obviously it's not purposed anymore. It's it's being utilized for something else.

And you also see that this used to be passenger seating. There's seats that are, some of them are still there that he maybe uses them to sit down in, but a lot of it's been kind of ripped out. Is there like a tiny little screwdriver?

screwdriver. I mean, it's it's a tool room. There's all sorts of stuff here. Okay. She's going to pocket ah a small, like, flathead screwdriver. Okay. And you still have that thing from Des, the the lighter? Mm-hmm. Okay. You're collecting some some stuff.

And then you go on the lower deck and you see that a lot of this has been locked up. And it's hot down here. And you see one room that is bolted shut. Like, it is very heavily locked. Like, it's a traditional lock. Like, you could attempt attempt to lockpick it, but it's there's a lot going on here.

And it is made of the same kind of iron that the planar door is made out of. You look at the signage on it, which appears to be a new sign because you've seen a few of these signs around the place. You notice when you're walking around the reason why you know what all this stuff is. There's nameplates everywhere now. You get gist that Odie has made these laser engraved plates and put them on various doors around the buzzard during the night.

He's labeling stuff for you to make it more convenient. Labeling and locking. Labeling and locking. He is baby-proofing, he is ID-proofing his domain. We're trying his very best, anyway. The signage on this big iron door is planar door fuel cells.

So this is what he specifically told you not to mess with. And the closer you get to this door, it is it is hot in here. it is hot, dry, like, it feels like you're standing next to a fire that you cannot see.

So it is unpleasant down here. So that's what's down in like the lower guts of this plane. That's pretty much like what this plane is. From what you gather, this plane must have been able to fly for many days at a time.

Because it is so big. It is so fully staffed. I mean, there's a kitchen. There's a lounge area. like What plane has this? They used to have planes like that. The Concorde, right? Yeah, not a fully staffed kitchen or whatever. Yeah, and they had bars and...

yeah I mean, I guess for like many hours, like, you know, if you're flying across the world or something. And then they stopped doing that for some reason. But like the fact that there's like sleeper rooms and stuff, they're like hotel rooms. This is for like long term stay.

So you get to just that the buzzer at one point was basically a flying cruise ship. A cruise ship and cargo hauler. But yeah, that's kind of like your first day here. are you doing it for the next few days? Are you um doing stuff with your room or? So she's going to spend her time split between she's chosen the biggest room with the nicest view. Okay.

And she's going to claim that for her own. So the largest room, it's a bedroom with two beds in it. It's a big hotel room style room. There's a little TV that's defunct. Like it's obviously not picking any TV stations anymore. does it turn on though?

It turns on, it just shows a blank screen. You have a a bathtub and shower. You have a nice bathroom. This had like a mini fridge at one point. It's in there, but it doesn't work.

Might work if you mess with it. You have two windows in this room and they're kind of big. They're kind of like more rectangular than like the porthole windows you would see on a plane. And you're still on the right side of the plane where you have that view of this kind of diagonal world that has bisected the sky of Augman where you see that mountainous horizon and this big spire pointing towards the sky.

But that was the one that was showing this golden sunset when you went to sleep. So that's kind of what your view is out of this world. Cool. She's going to get rid of that other bed. Okay. If she can. i don't know if that they're built in or whatever. i You can move it What are you doing with it?

Throwing it in a different room. Oh, okay. just She doesn't need remodeling she doesn' need two beds. And you have a lot of extra space now. So she's going to spend time like getting her room situated and she'll still be like kind of exploring still throughout the week.

She'll spend some time like relaxing in the the garden, you know, just kind of sitting under a tree or whatever and going through her journals and writing and studying or whatever. nice Is she able to find another lock somewhere?

And then she's going to like make a makeshift sign that says. i boys allowed. Ivy's room. And then another one that says off limits. make that sign? There's a laser engraver, obviously, around the ship somewhere because he's made all laser engraved plates. Oh, yeah. So she'll start, like, carving something and then she'll, like, stop because that's how she would, that's how her people would. And then she'd be like, wait, what am I doing? She'll find the laser engraver and.

Let's just say that she goes through a few before she figures out how this thing works. There may be a etched line through one of the walls. Oops. He gave you free reign, so. So she makes these little signs. She's going to pilfer the library for some books.

and She'll sneak those away to her room. She's going try and fix that fridge. Okay, cool. Why don't you roll for that? Okay. This is a, let's see. No, it's not a figuring things out roll, is it?

I mean, you've never seen a fridge before in your life. Yeah. And like, maybe you don't know, like you didn't know what it was. or odi's It's like, oh, it's a mini fridge. It's supposed to keep things cool. So now you know what it does. just need to get it to get cool.

Well, that's a five. That's unfortunate. Yeah, so you're tinkering around this fridge, but again, like you've never seen a fridge before in your life, and it has to be missing something that like you're just not quite getting. So like no matter what you try to do, you plug it in and it's just not getting cold.

It's a project have to work on a little bit more. Maybe you have an understanding of what this device does, and maybe then you can learn how it works and everything.

Discussing Fixers and OD Units

When you wake up, you get breakfast and everything. He sees you grabbing our piece of fruit off the table or whatever. Is that all he has to feed me is fruit? He sees you getting kind of tired of fruit or whatever, and he gives you a tap on his shoulder and he actually gestures to you to follow him.

And he goes to the planar door. And he says, wait right here. I'm going to bring us to a new destination. And it's going to be a little tricky.

See, I'm sure you realize by now that planar door doesn't have a back half to it. The back half is somewhere in the multiverse. So planar doors are very delicate instruments. They are very difficult to make.

You can theoretically make them out of any door. They really want their other half to be as close as possible. That is why this half of the planar door is bolted down so firmly.

The other half, I can't have it in too close proximity to this door, otherwise I could cause a collapse, which is mildly catastrophic and also ruins planar door. I saw that you were getting a little tired of the food I had available, so I figured we can do a bit of shopping.

And the best place to do that is the Market District. And it is here and elsewhere. it's It's not beyond our plane. So it's relatively close to the door, but not within the danger zone, I suppose.

And he goes up to his controls and you see him throttle the controls back and he suddenly plunges it forward and very carefully places the door down and you feel a tremor go through the floor, just how it activates normally.

And that little coin slot that you saw him put a coin in to go to the Anthromal's world, instead of just being lit red, like it still needs a coin to activate, it just instantly lights up green.

And he says, you do not require any permissions to travel anywhere and elsewhere. It's free you to go as you please. However, I did mention elsewhere is quite dangerous if you get too close to the edge of the planar fragments. But the market district is one of the safest places in all of elsewhere.

So I figured that we do a little shopping together and he actually gives you a little sack of coins. What do these coins look like? They're strange. So the coins here, i not to worry about currency in this campaign. Like if you want to buy something in elsewhere, you can buy it unless it's like extreme.

Then you steal it. nice Yeah, you become a thief in elsewhere. i'll They'll go over well, as I'm going to explain. I mean, I got a planar door. I can go wherever I need to go. So do all the other fixtures. Anyway, the coins in here are different shapes.

You see some that are round. You see some that are square and some that are triangular. And they have hollow centers and they have these engravings on them. And you notice that on all of these coins, no matter the shapes, they all of this chain around the border.

And you also see something familiar on the round coin. You see that spire that you saw way off in the distance in that mountainous horizon. You see the mountains, you see the spire in the center, and you see the chain around the edge of this circle.

Reflecting on the Journey with Odie

but That's kind of what all these coins look like. They're made out of various metals. Like the round coins seem to be made out of different metals. It doesn't seem to be that the metal matters very much. It's the shape that seems to indicate their value.

And, uh, he says we can take those and peruse the market for food, supplies, clothing, whatever. So you waited a whole week before mentioning this? Well, I was going to take you earlier, but figured getting used to the buzzer was the first step.

Exploring elsewhere is different, and you will soon see why. Do I have to um change my appearance for this? Not at all. Okay. I guess let's go. Okay. And he opens up the door and you step through and you're kind of in between buildings like a back alley.

But you also see something else strange here. You see that he parks his door next to a similar looking door. You can now tell that's another planar door. And you look down in the alleyway and there's easily a dozen of them here. They're all closed and they all look similar. Some look like normal wooden doors.

Some are iron. Some are huge. Some are a little bit smaller than Odie's. They're all different styles here in this back alleyway. And it's loud here. And when you look to the left down this this street, you see people.

And he guides you down this street and out into the main drag. And you can smell food. You can hear music. It is festive here. Like, and it's more packed and festive than even, like, the Anthemol's rain god celebration. Like, it is it is packed here. You hear vendors shouting prices and items they're selling. You see vendors, you know, cooking and selling food.

The people here are interesting. You see a lot of human-looking people. And as you're exploring this place, Odie's kind of like talking to you about this place and these people here like quickly giving you a you know, summary of what's here. The humans you see walking around, they're from Ogmin because that plane is very much similar to Earth and everything.

And you see them just enjoying life, chatting with other people. You see some chatting with this other humanoid, but he has the face of a bearded dragon, like a bearded dragon lizard.

And he's very tall, spiky. He's covered in like leather armor. You see other humanoid-looking people, but they're wearing dark clothes with extremely pale skin and bright red eyes.

You see a carriage girl on the street being led by a horse that appears to be made out of glass. You see a very tall figure kind of approaching down this main drag.

They're easily eight feet tall and made of iron. They look like a giant suit of armor. And through the slits in their helm, their kind of knight-shaped helm, you just see fire, like an orange glow.

And they're walking with kind of like a heavy stride with long, flexible arms that are nearly down to their ankles. And walking beside them is another humanoid figure, very human looking, until they turn to look at something off to the side of the street.

You see another fixer. They have a lens over their left eye, and you see that they have an AB designation a string of numbers. And the light from their lens, their triangular-shaped lens, is more magenta.

OD's in comparison is a mint green. You see another fixer down this main drag a little ways, and they're absolutely enormous. They're almost as tall as that metal figure that was walking around, and their lens is square, and it has a yellow glow to it.

And all of them are wearing kind the same uniform top that Odie has under his leather jacket. And Odie's pointing these people out, and he specifically points to the iron figures walking around. And he mentions that those are the golems of Venker.

And they are the ones that establish the government of elsewhere, known as the Iron Chain. So that's where the currency comes from. They're kind of like, these golems that are walking around are almost like the police force. They're just patrolling things.

And he also mentions that sometimes they're paired with fixers to try to repair some of the damage or contain some of the damage that is around elsewhere, like around the the edges of the planes. was wondering, I'm like, okay, but why are... Yeah. Fixers are not...

I mean, Odie's an anomaly, right? So they're not going to go want to go to the market. No, they're they're strictly here. And when you look at these fixers, like even when you make eye contact with them, they don't pay you any mind. And it's weird because even these other people, like if you shoot them a glance, like they, know, some of them kind of like wave hi to you, like just an art person.

And he mentions that he was like that too at one point. He's an anomaly, but fixers were made to be tools, and so these people are walking around like machines.

So there you have it. ah So while we're walking and just like looking at and taking this all in, she's going to be like periodically looking down at her antenna. And how many of the people that she sees show up in there?

So you flip through your antenna and you see that you're still in the plane of Ogwin. You're still somewhere in the plane of Ogwin because you see a lot of people show up. You see dogs, cats, what have you. But just you get the impression that the plane of elsewhere, since this has shattered and combined, that people just kind of live together now.

They live in the livable spaces of elsewhere. And since Odie mentioned that this was one of the safest places in elsewhere, there's a lot of people here.

A lot of people. And you get the gist that they're from every single plane. Pretty much everyone you look at are different. You see a lot of Ogminians, they're human-like, walking around all shapes, colors, what have you.

But then you also see people that are clearly from a different plane. You see the lizard people, you see the vampire folk. You see the crystal animals. You see the golems. You see creatures flying around the sky that you've never seen before. Like, they're kind of like dragons, but they're feathered. Odi says that they're from the plane of Assembur, which is the plane of air.

And he also brings you some, like these little boxes. but They have little screens on them and little antennas sticking out. They're almost like like small walkie-talkies. He explains that like this is, it's almost like they're equivalent to a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth kind of system that he brings you.
