And, uh, and then she'd like looks around Before we go anywhere. And you see him tap the left side of his head. And you see him turn into a feathered man. a African gray parrot man.

and What is ID? What is she going to be? I guess where you're thinking of that can describe what Odie looks like. He looks like an anthro African gray parrot of the red tail and gray face, big beak. But his eyes are the turquoise color of his eyes. Like you can tell that this is Odie. And his leather jacket has become a leather vest almost.

And he's got like a little tool belt on, which you didn't really see him have a tool belt before. But you also know from just looking at the pictures of these avian folk on screen, like they're they're tinkerers.

Okay, so. Yeah, where are we currently? We are like on the far side of this giant crater. To our left is this large, well, and not immediately, but like in that direction it' this large mountain range with this like giant mountain peak.

The other side is just This sort of grassland that goes on into the horizon. And across this crater, you see this large encampment.

And there are people milling about on the other side. And there's tents and there's these, you know, sort of ramshackle buildings and things. And there's lots of colorful fabric. And you can hear music coming from the other side. Lots of hustle and bustle. Lots of things going on.

Cool. And the crater is about the size of a ah small lake. It would take a while to cross it on foot, but Odie would know that you never dare to like actually walk in. Yeah. Well, there's no water. it's just this crater. Oh, that's right. It's not filled yet. Yeah. So Odie would know that you do not do that's not what you do you' We'd have to go around. Yeah.

It takes them a not insignificant amount time to go around this crater to where all the activity is. But the the music starts becoming louder and louder as they approach and the smells of food cooking just waft through the air.

Everything from like meats to vegetables to what smells like sweets all intermingling. And as you come into camp, you notice that There are like small groups of tents and stuff and people of the same species are kind of grouped up together. There is some intermingling that goes on, but all the like lion folk are camped together and all the gazelle folk are camped together and and so on.

He starts walking down herbivore side of the isle. And there is a booth with a bunch of other African-Grey parrot people. And he mentioned they're all tinkerers.

And I imagine they're all just gawking amongst themselves, working on various things. And he brings out from a pocket that has on his little tool belt. And he turns back to you and he says, see, the parrot folk here are quite industrious. They tinker with things.

And occasionally, tools go missing, get stolen, and I do my best to, well, fix little problems when I see them. And he hands one of the parrot folk a screwdriver he had He says, good evening, gentlemen. were you looking for something like this?

They stop squawking amongst themselves, and they turn to look at O.D. And they see I.D. standing right there, and they go completely still.

No, they're separate. They're very colorful. They're made out of wood, but they're painted very colorfully. And then this little, like, C-shape piece of metal that's sort of tiny.

And he drops that in, in Odie's hand. Well, thank you very much. And I hand that tool over. Oh, this is just what I needed. And he goes over to this little box looking thing.

And he goes into the back of it. And you can see him take the screwdriver and he's just tinker with something. And then there's these dials on the front of it.

And he turns the dial and nothing happens. He turns it back and then turns it back on the other way. he takes his like fist and just bonks it. And all of a sudden you hear sound come out of this box.

And it's an announcer announcing the weather, the time of day, and the approximate distance of the giraffe god who is on his way to the mountain.
Divine Intervention and Land's Prosperity

And he is currently going on the other side of the mountain. There's a forest area. And he's currently on his way through that forest area. It's it's the it's in the home stretch.

So it's looking like probably by tomorrow, by tomorrow morning, he'll be there and he'll be at the top. And I.D. is like looking at this box fascinated.

And she's like, um, uh, you know, the, the, the normal kind. And he like is looking at her. Parrots have these kind of like beady dead eyes anyway, but like he kind of like leans towards OD and puts his hand covering his face to like whisper.

What did he mean about what events did I participate in? Sports, ah usually. Why did he assume that? Well, a lot of the Cheetah folk participate in local sports, mainly involving a ball similar to kickball, soccer. It's given a lot of different names in different worlds.

Same premise, getting a ball into a goal, and you usually have to be very fast at this game. But that's the general assumption for cheetah folk. Not all cheetah folk are sporty. They run quickly, but that's, it's an assumption that all them are involved in sports, but not all of them choose to. Oh, so it's sort of like, because my parents raise pollinators, I'm no things about pollinating.

Well, that would be the lions. They are the best cooks here. And he leads the way to this big booth with a bunch of lions camped out at it. But there's other predators here. like I'm sure there's hyenas, wild dogs. They're all here. Yeah, there's parrot folk, but there's also, like, raptor folk.

There's a small group of crocodilians. As they're walking towards the lions, Idy is, like, surreptitiously, like, looking through the screen on her, um...

Every year, there's this festival in which a literal god that descends down from the heavens and walks across this land, eventually making up to that mountain peak over there, and he ascends back into the clouds and becomes rain that fills that entire reservoir.

So, in this arid, dry landscape, rain is scarce. But the rain that comes from him, it has amazing magical properties. And it is responsible for everything you see around you.

All these people, they were once feral beasts that roamed this land. But many years ago, when this god first appeared and rained upon the land, drinking from that water transformed them all into more sophisticated, intelligent race.
Uncovering the Sabotage Plot

And that god brings the rainy season that benefits not only this land you see immediately here, but these animals bring some of this rain back with them to nourish the sick.

It's amazing, the properties from this magical water. And what we're here to do is to stop someone from ending all of that. Why would anybody want to end that?

I have no idea. It's a bit alarming to me. I've witnessed this spectacle numerous times, just out of my own curiosity. There was never a problem here for me to fix while is that occasionally contributing to the parafolk. But the god, Olingar, he is magnificent. And the fact that any anyone would want to harm him is barbaric to me, especially when he bestows such a wonderful gift onto this land. Yeah, that I'm having trouble with that too.

And as Odie's explaining this to ID, I imagine he can access the mission data. he probably is doing that as he's explaining this. And the account from the scout mentioned that there is a small cabal of many different animals, anthromoles, who had this radical idea that coexisting with each other was against nature.

Like, you know, the parrot folk had researched it and used it to invent radios that then everyone uses. Mm-hmm. But you do know that, like, the extremist group is led by a hyena folk by the name of Grimgar.

And the plan is to use the festival as cover to set this weapon off. And that is as much as they know. But yeah, hyena folk named Grimgar is a leader, but there are all species and that are a part of this group.

Apparently, using this wonderful festival as cover, they are hoping to destroy that reservoir back there. That is what fills with water when Oligar ascends into the clouds.
