ID's Collapse and Odie's Concern

00:00:20
Speaker
ID has just passed out. What is OD doing? Besides freaking the hell out? I'm sure he's seen, he knows what's going on. Like, I'm sure the first thing he does is check her vitals. Like, okay, I didn't just kill this young woman by giving her water. She's not used to drinking.
00:00:40
Speaker
I think Odie is going to, after himself down, making sure she's okay, picking her up carefully and taking her back to the front of the buzzard.

Odie's Guilt and Internal Conflict

00:00:53
Speaker
where the planar door control room is, where everything started. And just... is he gonna put her down somewhere, in his chair! He's gotta, like, recline it and put her down in there, because it's the softest place he can think of right now.
00:01:06
Speaker
And also, like, the only place that's functioning is, like, a... it's basically his repair ward, so maybe if he puts her here, she can wake up gradually. No, she's not... he's not gonna try to fix her!
00:01:18
Speaker
He knows she's organic. But maybe. Maybe. Maybe by in proximity to the stuff, maybe there's like radiation that'll help. Basically going like, what Odie thinks is this is like his most comforting place when he's being repaired. This is also where he sleeps. So it's just like, okay, if I put her in this nice soft chair, maybe like Yogan, she's not going to like hurt herself here.
00:01:39
Speaker
So he's just got to lay her down there and I don't think he's gotta like try to wake her up, but he's got a lot of thoughts running through his mind like what she meant by needing more time.
00:01:53
Speaker
He was under the assumption that she just wanted to figure out what the universe was like and how it worked. Kind of like repay her in some way for helping him out even though he didn't really need her help because he feels terrible about all this.
00:02:06
Speaker
So he feels guilty. He shouldn't have dragged this young girl into all of this shit. So he's just gonna like plant himself on the stairs going up to his command station and just sit there and think about things and occasionally checking on her.
00:02:23
Speaker
and seeing if she's like any any chance of her waking up any evidence of away her waking up and just sitting back down. He's worried about her. So he goes to sit down for a moment or two and gets back up to go check on her again.

ID Confronts Odie: Understanding Their Journey

00:02:37
Speaker
And as he is turning to go back and sit on the step, he hears from behind him, what are you drugging me now? Miss Heidi? what What is your game, man?
00:02:48
Speaker
i I didn't do anything to you. i I wanted to make sure you were safe. And I brought you back here because I didn't know what to do. I should have just brought you back home. i'm I'm sorry. What was in that water?
00:03:01
Speaker
Nothing. It is pure a shio I, uh, I'm not gonna explain that. Uh, it's water. It's the cleanest, most pristine water in all of elsewhere.
00:03:12
Speaker
I promise you that. ah you You know me a little bit by now. i'm I'm a very terrible liar. I would never lie to you, nor want to lie to you about this. Well, at least that much is true. You are a terrible liar.
00:03:24
Speaker
How are you feeling? Well, I have to admit, this chair is actually pretty comfy. It is. that's That's why I placed you in it. I really don't have anywhere else to keep you safe for the time being.
00:03:37
Speaker
Wait, so you had no place for me to stay? ID, I was going to ask you about that. More time. Here I was thinking you just wanted to learn about the universe, and I explained how that worked to you. I thought that was the least I could do to repay you for helping me.
00:03:54
Speaker
Admittedly, I shouldn't have got you involved in all this, and I feel terrible for doing so. Hold on a second. So you felt bad for dragging me all the way out to the ship for no reason, making me stab a guy.
00:04:10
Speaker
i did not make you do that. You did that on your own. Arguments can be made. And so you like, hey, I will explain the universe to you. i go to different worlds and I fix them. Come with me. And I'm not- I did not say you could come with me, Miss Heidi.
00:04:26
Speaker
You opened the door and told me to go in. To the buzzer, not to anywhere else.

Odie's Trust Issues and Reflection

00:04:33
Speaker
So now I'm- youre gonna we're just going to open the door back to my world and I'm just going to go back through there.
00:04:39
Speaker
I- Knowing that you're out there doing stuff. Knowing that there are things to be learned and knowing that you can't do this by yourself.
00:04:52
Speaker
I've been capable by myself for quite some time. Uh-huh. And... How long are those repairs that you got done going to last you until you need them again?
00:05:04
Speaker
You see him kind of glance up at his repair module, and even you notice there's some patchwork like on the actual repair module module itself. And he says, it's been some time that I've been running at full operational status.
00:05:19
Speaker
ah I've been managing. Right. Are you suggesting you can help me as far as my maintenance goes?
00:05:31
Speaker
Well, I'm suggesting that, given the proper knowledge, that I can make things a lot better for you.
00:05:43
Speaker
I think I need to roll for that one. What, roll persuasion against me? me just make a roll here. curious, the DM rolling persuasion, essentially, against the player. Well, that was a six. So, um...
00:05:57
Speaker
Yeah, Odie can tell that she's kind of talking out of her ass a little bit. Miss Heidi, I know you are very, very hungry for knowledge.
00:06:08
Speaker
I have known many people like you. Oh, I sincerely doubt that.

Odie's Purpose and Yearning for Companionship

00:06:13
Speaker
At least for the hunger of knowledge. In that aspect, I am very much like you.
00:06:19
Speaker
I spend most of my time in these different worlds, these different planes, just exploring and learning how they work. That is not part of my original design. My original design is to simply be a repair machine.
00:06:32
Speaker
I wasn't supposed to learn or discover things. just because I want to learn. That is just my personal desire for knowledge. Even for a being as timeless as myself, that is a hunger that is never satisfied.
00:06:48
Speaker
Great. So then what's the big deal? The big deal is the price of that knowledge. To have someone who is not a fixer know of all of this, what goes on, it could potentially lead to problems.
00:07:04
Speaker
What sort of problems? Idy, I am not 100% for certain if I can trust you. What on earth have I done to suggest that you couldn't?
00:07:14
Speaker
Have I ever lied to you? No, but you and Desmorian had a mutual distrust of one another and you ended up assaulting him. Listen, i stabbed him.
00:07:25
Speaker
i pricked him with a needle. It's hardly assault. You still attacked him. And because I did that, you were able to get into the ship and your work. We could have done that non-violently. We could have just let him have what was in the ship and we could have dismantled the battery and we would have been done.
00:07:43
Speaker
That was my original plan, after all. No offense, O.D., but you have a terrible judge of character then, if you think that that guy was going to just let all that happen and let us do whatever we wanted.
00:07:56
Speaker
Perhaps, but I have seen what you do, and I can't be for certain if I can trust you, or trust you with the knowledge, the infinite knowledge that comes with this job.
00:08:09
Speaker
If that were true, you would never have brought me here in the first place. And ah you seem to get a little antsy. I made a mistake.
00:08:19
Speaker
I should not have brought you here. By job, one of the rules for being a fixer is not to get involved with the denizens of the planes. Yet I routinely do so.
00:08:32
Speaker
I do not know why. Maybe I crave companionship. Maybe that is what I'm missing. Maybe that's why I am broken. But it's something I just cannot help. And for the life me, I just don't know how to fix that part of me.
00:08:46
Speaker
I don't think it can be fixed. There are some things that just cannot be fixed. Well, that I don't believe. With enough beeswax, you can fix just about anything. And I've been speaking metaphorically, obviously.
00:09:00
Speaker
So it would take a considerable amount of work to fix someone like me. Well, I've never ran from a challenge. He seemed kind of like, give you a little smirk, like he actually kind of enjoyed that. And ah he says, all right, if you truly want to learn more, and if you truly want to help me, I suppose it is only fair to test

Mission Briefing: The Plane of Ngongo

00:09:24
Speaker
you.
00:09:24
Speaker
You see this control panel here? Mm-hmm. Very frequently, it goes off with a ping, and that lords me to a new task I have to complete. Whether it be fix a planar damage of some kind, whether I need to go out and team up with another fixer, stars forbid, or if it's to do what's known as preventative maintenance.
00:09:48
Speaker
See, the the cracks and damage on planes, those don't form naturally. They have to be... Going back to the CD example, they have to be damaged by some exterior force.
00:10:02
Speaker
And those exterior forces are most commonly stresses of some kind. Whether it be world wars, tremendous conflicts, conflicts between entire worlds or planes, that could be enough to cause damage to the planes themselves.
00:10:18
Speaker
And you know what happens if there's enough damage. So the next time this equipment notifies me of a problem, depending on the level of severity, you can join me.
00:10:30
Speaker
Great! Because while we were here talking, there was a notification that came through. There's a job on Ningongo, wherever that is. I heard that, yes. And he says, let me check this out.
00:10:42
Speaker
Depending on the level we're dealing with here, I will get you set up with some temporary equipment. Equipment? What do you mean, equipment? And he points the left side of his head. You can't go into other planes without something to aid you.
00:10:57
Speaker
You can't go to other planes looking like that. I do not mean any offense. Well, what I mean, well, I'm offended, though. What do you mean? And he touches left side of his head, and you see him, and you see a bright flash of light, and he doesn't change much.
00:11:14
Speaker
He basically loses that equipment on left side of his head. he gets another humanoid kind of eye, human-looking eye, and he looks like a person. And he says, so what you need is a disguise. This is what we use to blend in with other denizens of the planes.
00:11:30
Speaker
So, for instance, what you're seeing now is what I would look like if I was a denizen of the world Acromia. It's in the plane of Augmin, which is where the buzzard is currently residing. It's a fracture of a plane of Augmin.
00:11:47
Speaker
And... I can turn into any denizen of this plane. And he presses the left his head a couple times and you see him turn into various creatures. You see see him turn into a small furry dog. You see him turn into a small bird. You see him turn into a horse, but it's fleshy and has a mane and hair.
00:12:11
Speaker
ah She is visibly, like, disgusted. sees that, and he sees shake his head, and he turns back into Odie. He says, I'm sorry if any of those offended you. That was grotesque.
00:12:23
Speaker
I apologize. But this up here, my antenna, is what essentially pulls data from the plane we are visiting, and I can use that to change my own code to modify myself and turn into whatever I need to disguise myself to blend into the plane.
00:12:45
Speaker
You could disguise yourself as a person in my world, but you chose to be horse. I chose an indirect approach because of the circumstances regarding the location of the fracture.
00:13:01
Speaker
She gives Odie this look like she's trying to figure him out. That doesn't make any sense. I have been known to solve problems in unconventional ways.
00:13:13
Speaker
The problem was fixed. By dropping horse on someone? that's Only because you assaulted him in the first place. ok This is supposed to be non-violent. Listen, if you've really been around as much as you claim to have been, then you know that sometimes violence is necessary.
00:13:33
Speaker
I am not designed for violence, though I have had my share of near destructions. For someone who is so traveled, it's it's a wonder that you don't know the universal rule.
00:13:47
Speaker
That is? Murder is always an option. Miss Heidi, I will clarify what I said before. What causes the damage to the planes is internal stresses. Or stresses by external forces. Either way, it's typically caused by violence.
00:14:03
Speaker
And sometimes violence is needed to stop violence. Sometimes it is. But Des was not being violent with you. I beg to differ. I wasn't there to witness the whole thing, but... Listen, he got poked with a needle.
00:14:18
Speaker
That was probably unsanitary. What? That was likely unsanitary. you mean? Again, with the words that I don't know. Full of germs. You could make one very sick if they don't have... Don't have what?
00:14:32
Speaker
he's trying He's trying to think of the words to explain to you. he says, um, something small needle can actually kill somebody if it's stuck in a vital area. It wasn't a vital area. i needed to make sure that he would bleed. Okay.
00:14:46
Speaker
And his response to a pinprick was to draw his sword on me. Which is valid. in In what world? You assaulted him. All right. All right. Listen, listen.
00:14:57
Speaker
You yourself admitted that your programming did not include going and exploring for funsies. That is true. So maybe because you're a machine, you don't necessarily understand everything about life and death and people.
00:15:15
Speaker
He actually puts a hand up. He's like, I'm going to stop talking about that right now. We have a mission to go to. If you don't mind, I want to, if you can, move out of my chair so I can.
00:15:29
Speaker
But it's really comfy. It is a comfortable chair, but I need to control the door. Fine. I just figured out how to turn on the massage feature. Get out of the chair.
00:15:40
Speaker
Reluctantly. Okay. He sits back down in it, and you see him immediately, almost machine-like, go to all these... Weird, right? Yeah.
00:15:52
Speaker
Much more machine-like than he's been acting. ah He knows what buttons to press. You see his hands fly all way across this ah this control panel. And you see this notification come up, and it just comes up with all these boxes. And...
00:16:05
Speaker
uh i mean you're the dm so like what what needs to be known about this this mission here what this task Okay, so what comes up when Odie goes to open up the mission file?
00:16:19
Speaker
On the plane of Ngongo, one of the scouts has received intel that a extremist group has developed a weapon and plans to use it to destroy the sacred pool and eliminate the giraffe god.
00:16:40
Speaker
And doing so, the computer has extrapolated that if that does happen, the plane will be a barren wasteland in a matter of decades. Ooh, shit.
00:16:51
Speaker
The plane or the world? we never did we really Did we ever explain that? So, like, okay, so... Maybe you did. So planes in this lore are more like entire universes, or they can be very small and only comprise a couple of planets. Because, again, every universe is different. They run a different code.
00:17:10
Speaker
If you're saying, like, an entire plane would go barren, that's a pretty big fucking deal. But if it's just, like, a world, that makes more sense that, like, a world would become barren if, like, something got fucked up. Okay, fine. The world. Yeah.
00:17:22
Speaker
Interesting. So what's like... Although, I mean, one could argue there's repercussions if a planet gets sort of jacked up and becomes... Well, planet gets jacked up by... Comes out of an alignment and that could throw off the whole solar system, you know.
00:17:36
Speaker
or can cause planar damage, which is the the big concern. Yeah. So what's like the kind of threat level here? Is it like high if there's like a weapon involved or an extremist group? The threat level is not high enough to warrant Titans, but perhaps there's a reason that this mission was given to Odie.
00:17:56
Speaker
Okay. And not one of the others. Gotcha. So it was like a high threat level, but usually when it's a high threat level, it's recommended to be assigned a Titan, but there's an option to say no.
00:18:07
Speaker
Yeah, so I would say mid to high. Okay. Yeah, and like immediately when that prompt comes up to like be assigned to Titan, you see him like immediately boop that away. Just like, no.
00:18:18
Speaker
No interest whatsoever. And he goes to it even before that window even comes up on his screen. like He just knows it's going to come up for this kind of level. And he says... Well, this plane I am familiar with.

Roles and Responsibilities: Fixers, Scouts, and Titans

00:18:31
Speaker
I've been to it plenty of times before. Mainly because of this special annual event that is currently in jeopardy. What's a Titan?
00:18:42
Speaker
A Titan... And why were you so eager to dismiss it? hu So, fixers come in three classes. There's scouts that just go down to a plane or a world to investigate, and they report any planar damage or any issues that could result in planar damage, such as this issue here.
00:19:04
Speaker
And they report that back, and we, the mechanical fixtures, we're the ones that go out and actually fix the problem. But we're not designed for violence or to defend against danger.
00:19:21
Speaker
Titans are very large fixers that don't do any fixing, ironically, but they are there to protect the ones that do fix the problem.
00:19:33
Speaker
And they are equipped with weaponry and defenses to combat possible issues. Oh, really? They are designed for defensive violence, if that makes you feel better.
00:19:46
Speaker
Does it make you feel better, knowing that I was right? No, I refuse to work with the Titans. For one, other fixers are bland to work with.
00:19:57
Speaker
Not enjoyable whatsoever. And I'm sure that you're not a whole bucket of joy for them either. oh I'm deemed an annoyance, but I'm very i very yeah entertained by that fact.
00:20:09
Speaker
I can tell. But the reason why I'm allowed to reject that option is because I still manage to do my job well. Even if you do need help. And if I do need help.
00:20:20
Speaker
And where those tasks come from, if the task manager finds out that I have help from someone who is not a fixer, there is a cost so great involved with not only me, but for you as well.
00:20:35
Speaker
Is your boss going to kill me? I don't know what she would do, but I don't want to imagine the outcome for you when I know the outcome for me is devastating.
00:20:45
Speaker
So in order to do this, we can go down to that world, but I need to get you some temporary equipment. If you just give me a moment. Well, okay. So, but I don't, I'm still not sure why, how, Odie had like changed into different creatures, but she still doesn't sort of grasp that people are different.
00:21:08
Speaker
So he kind of gets you like piecing things together. He says, we'll make you feel better if I gave you a sort of look at where we're going. Yeah. I mean, research is always better than going in blind somewhere.
00:21:21
Speaker
With that, he sits back in his chair, grabs both of those joysticks, and you see him throttle one forward. And you see the main screen zoom in on this plane, and it zooms into a swirl of stars, a galaxy.

Cultural Insights: Preparing for Ngongo

00:21:36
Speaker
You see it zoom into a planetary system, a solar system. You see it zoom into a world very rapidly, like faster than like a beam of light. And it finally zooms into this continent on this world that looks very dry and arid, except for a small patch of green.
00:21:55
Speaker
And you see him, he's throttling forward on this joystick. He brings it back a little bit to slow it down. And he finally just touches it forward and you see it zoom in frame by frame on this place.
00:22:06
Speaker
And he finally finds a place to position this door. Which, I'll let you, like, I guess you're the DM, so I'd like to let you to but explain where he puts this, where we end up going out of the door.
00:22:18
Speaker
And you see him press a button, and you hear a small chime on the console of this control panel, and out comes a small, round disc.
00:22:33
Speaker
And it's smaller than the CD. it's It's like a small metal token almost. And he hits another button on his screen and all of his panels, all these screens light up with different images. And it is all views of this plane.
00:22:48
Speaker
It is just like looking at different parts of it. You see people walking around. You see all these different kinds of people. You see the parrot people. You see the lion people. You see the elephant people.
00:23:00
Speaker
You see this watering hole. But you also see artwork of the giraffe. um This amazing giraffe god. And the main screen.
00:23:10
Speaker
And he says, that is where we are going. Oh. For the first time, she looks a little sheepish. And he says, now if you want, you can take your pick.
00:23:22
Speaker
Once we enter this plane, the equipment I give you will allow you to turn into any of them. And he gets up from his chair, and he starts walking back down with this little token.
00:23:33
Speaker
Um, question. Yes? So, I understand how it alters your code, but you're also a machine.
00:23:44
Speaker
Code is code. The equipment I'm giving you is going to alter yours as well. Temporarily, of course. Though I cannot gauge how comfortable or uncomfortable that may be.
00:23:56
Speaker
From what I heard, it's it's not unpleasant. You don't know? i really don't feel much of anything when it alters my code. But that's how I was designed. You were not designed to have your code altered.
00:24:08
Speaker
You don't know that. That's true. And he walks down. She says like just as a defense mechanism. And he wants she like starts and thinks about it like still probably probably not. oh You see him walk down. And as he's passing by the planar door, you see him pop this this coin into almost a coin slot on a door frame.
00:24:28
Speaker
And you feel the ground shudder a little bit. And he says, do not touch that until I come back. And you see him walk out one of those man doors on the the bottom floor. She's gonna, like, watch him go out the door, and then she's just gonna touch the hell out of everything.
00:24:45
Speaker
What are you doing? Just actually just touching it. like Okay, but you're not pressing any buttons or anything? No. Okay. No, she is, like... Like, I don't know if any of the buttons are labeled or not.
00:24:58
Speaker
Nothing's labeled in here. He knows how to do his job so well. at Nothing. There's nothing marked. It is just an assemblage of button panel screens. A bunch of equipment.
00:25:09
Speaker
Okay, so after some time, don't know how long it's going to take him. Yeah, ah he actually comes back 10 minutes later and he has something in his hands that he's actively messing with. And it looks kind of like his antenna, but it's not made

ID's Transformation and Mission Preparation

00:25:24
Speaker
the same material. It doesn't look as nice.
00:25:27
Speaker
Like, his was definitely manufactured with, like, functionality in mind. This thing looks like it was cobbled together with a bunch of stuff that kind of resembles his antenna. And he says, okay, um we just need to fasten this to you somehow. Like a necklace, bracelet, wherever.
00:25:43
Speaker
long as it's attached to you. um And she like looks down at the minimal minimalist clothing that she's wearing. on your waist, a belt, strap. Here, just put it. And she like lifts her arm up and she has these cloth and other bracers.
00:26:00
Speaker
Just put it on one of these. Okay, and he has sort of like a ah belt to it, and he trims it to length, and he fastens that to you kind of tight. He says, this is temporary. This is a sort of a mock-up antenna and disguise apparatus.
00:26:19
Speaker
I started tinkering with this technology after studying my own technology in hopes to do my own maintenance, but it's not quite as effective as the one that's built into me. And its power core is...
00:26:34
Speaker
not the same material as mine, but it does function similarly. So this, if you press these buttons here, and he shows you on the side of it, and it doesn't look like his. His seems to be almost like he might have buttons underneath the surface of his you don't see, but this has external buttons that you can touch.
00:26:52
Speaker
And there's a couple arrow keys, there's a couple of buttons with the red and green button, and he says you can use this to find the station you want. whatever you want to turn into.
00:27:03
Speaker
And when you're satisfied with what you want to turn into, you can just leave it there. You can dismiss and choose a different one by pressing the red and green buttons. But what I suggest, start small.
00:27:15
Speaker
If you go too large, like some of those ah larger elephant folk, you might consume too much battery power off of this unit. and you could cause a reset. And a reset is something you do not want. It would basically dismiss your disguise and you would be revealed.
00:27:33
Speaker
So I recommend start something in the middle, somewhere. It takes more energy to turn into something much smaller than you, and it takes more energy to turn into something much larger than you. So, something around your size. Okay. Do you have a mirror or something?
00:27:49
Speaker
A mirror? Um, well, you can't turn- Well, am I supposed to know if You can't turn into anything right now. You see, this antenna only tunes into the code of the plane we are standing on.
00:28:00
Speaker
Oh, that much I got. Well, you can't turn into one of the animal folk right now, because we are not in that plane currently. If you step through that door, you will be. Yes, that much I got. Okay, uh, well, I don't know if there is a mirror on the other side of that door.
00:28:14
Speaker
But do you have a mirror on this side of the door? I do. Uh, and... He's just, like, totally not getting it. Yeah. And you see him just, like, make a prop. Like, he takes, he sees a projection in his lens, and he grabs out of his lens, and he holds out a half-body mirror.
00:28:32
Speaker
And he kind of sets it on the ground, and, uh, he says, well, will that satisfy? She looks in it. Okay. And she starts tuning into the plane elsewhere.

Okay, so you're standing in Augmin right now, so you're got to be turning into... Augmin is very similar to Earth. So... Oh, man. ah I want you to roll, DM. Okay.
00:28:56
Speaker
We're making you roll. But I think for a first time turning into something, I to see how well she handles this. Does any of her modifiers apply here? I would just do a flat roll, honestly.
00:29:08
Speaker
Note to the listeners, you're sharing DMing rolls right now because the fixer shit is something I mainly came up with, so like... And this is kind of how it's gonna be anyway. I mean, it it's gonna be like this until we get to the world we're going into.
00:29:21
Speaker
Eh, it might be like this anyway. Well, there's a four... and a three... Okay. Just barely. Just barely a mixed. So, this planet very much like Earth. ah So, when you said starts off small, this thing is kind of like designed to start off small. So, like the first thing you turn into is a kitty.
00:29:42
Speaker
And... Like an actual kitty or like a kitty person? A cat. There's no cat people in Ogman. It's very like human, human races. It feels fucking weird.
00:29:52
Speaker
Like your vision goes white, but then you see almost like pink flashes and then you see the world in front of you. But suddenly Odie is much taller than you and he's looking down at you.
00:30:05
Speaker
You feel a little dizzy, like you wobble a little bit and you realize that like you don't have hands anymore. You're standing on your four paws and it feels weird, but only for a second. But then it doesn't feel weird. You've always had these paws. It feels natural to you.
00:30:23
Speaker
It feels natural you have a tail. It feels natural covered in fur. Spotted, tan fur, like a Bengal kitty. And not that much different spotted than your own, just there's no blue cats in Augman.
00:30:35
Speaker
But for some reason, you can kind of almost feel this equipment still attached to you. You can't see it, but you know it's there. You know you if you touch this or interact with it, it's going to change.
00:30:47
Speaker
And Odie says, how do you feel, Miss Heidi? She was like looking at herself in the mirror. The eyes, the widest that a cat eyes can get. Puffing up.
00:31:01
Speaker
Now, don't be alarmed. um So this equipment, as long as you're wearing it, we can understand each other. So normally the creature you turn into ah would sound, you turn into a cat.
00:31:12
Speaker
This is a cat. It makes little meowing sounds. Yes, we have cats where I'm from. Oh, you do. Oh, I suppose you do. Well, uh... Oh, gosh, that that is weird to hear my voice come out of... and, like, look... Oh.
00:31:28
Speaker
Because she's still looking in the mirror, yeah and she's talking, and it's just, oh, this... It will take some getting used to. If you want, you can cycle through a few different ones. But I can't see the... the thing.
00:31:40
Speaker
You feel it, though. It's it's still there. Its own code is unaltered. You just can't see it. It takes, like, a paw, like, what the... um and just sort of, like... Taps at her other paw?
00:31:53
Speaker
And, uh, yeah, you hit it again. And this time you go a little bit larger, you're a dog. What is this thing? That is a dog. You are a fantastic German Shepherd. It is a lovely, lovely breed.
00:32:04
Speaker
What's a German? ah You can cycle through a little bit more. Taps it again. Yeah, and suddenly you look kind of like yourself. You are not blue-skinned anymore.
00:32:18
Speaker
Like, what you look like is more like ah like a human. Oh, mean, like, the people from Wittershins are basically human-looking. Yeah. Not all of them are blue, right? So, like, they've come in different skin tones.
00:32:30
Speaker
But she looks like herself, just not blue. Yeah. And with no spots. Well, there might be like tattoos. Basically, that thing is going to turn you into what you would probably look like as whatever creature you turn into in that world. So like if you have spots on you, it's going to try to retain that, but naturally in a way. So like you probably just have tattoos that look like spots. Oh, this is, oh, this is interesting.
00:32:53
Speaker
You're still wearing kind of like your clothes. So like your clothes kind of change with you. Looking back at what Odie looked like as the horse, his saddle was like the leather jacket he's wearing. His clothes still change and travel with him.
00:33:05
Speaker
They come with his disguise. And yours is no different. Well, it seems like you're getting used to how that works. She's going to tap the red button. Dismiss it? Mm-hmm. Yep. And you turn it back into your blue-skinned self.
00:33:19
Speaker
Okay. That was interesting. You're a very fast learner. And I see you're getting used to how that must feel. I'm sure little- Nope, at all. I'm sure it must be a little unpleasant. I am just compartmentalizing.
00:33:33
Speaker
Question? Never mind, think I figured it out on my own. Oh, um, I was curious, what was your question? Well, without a mirror, how are you going to know if you got what you wanted?
00:33:45
Speaker
Well, I just know what code I changed into. Well, yes, I understand that, but I... Oh, and... It's not built into my head. And ah he does reach for your device, and he says if you just... He squeezes a little compartment open, a little screen flaps out, and he's... I forgot to mention that, I apologize.
00:34:03
Speaker
Now you can see what code you're turn tuning into. She gives him such a glare... I'm not used to explaining this. I don't need to rely on that. I just know. it's I can sort of picture it in my head, as you said. narrows to her eyes. It's different for organic life interacting with this technology. Shall we leave? Yes, please. Let's go and take care of this mission. Okay. And he grabs that hatch door lock and swings it to the left and he pulls that door open.
00:34:37
Speaker
And now you can take over as DM since I'm done with all the lore shit. So he opens the door and the first thing that happens is ID pushes him through. Why?
00:34:48
Speaker
He just going to walk through. and then she jumps after him. As she does, her one hand like lingers on the doorframe for just a second and then sort of slides through the door.
