You know, sometimes, when I kick back, after a long, hard day of killing, I like to talk about it, but I've got no one to listen to. So recently, I started my own podcast, Drago Dribbles. Even though I know nothing about podcasting, I've found the best browser software to help. zen costa It makes it easy for me to record studio quality sound and up to 4K video with your guests, which I'm going to be trying out because I am shockingly beautiful.

I feel a sense of Zen, knowing Zencaster's multi-layered backups in ensure I always have the recordings in the highest quality, even if the connection is unstable. Well, Zencast's post-production processes make me sound very smooth, even with my deep, sexy voice. It automatically removes those ums and ahs in recordings, and it also removes awkward pauses.

Fellowship of the Tabletop Introduction

00:02:52
Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop, Bellum Draconis. We are a live play 5e D and&D podcast set in the magical home-brewed world of Aerith in the Kingdom of Dralak. Joining you for this week's episode we have Poobeh who plays the human cleric Enron. Hello. He's also in the 80s with his video quality. We've got... Go fuck yourself. I, elf, artifice, arrange haddow. I say crude mud iron from the north. You say blood iron. Simple right? Callum he plays a Warforged Artifice at Alpha, fuck you Darren. You had one job. Ian he plays a Tiefling Wars or a Nyx Carell. I might have forgotten everything that happened.
00:03:34
Speaker
Luckily we do a recap. We've got Willy Place, the Dragonborn, Druid, Baal, Valkom, Rodal. My name is Mark and I am playing the ah soon probably to be dead human blade singer Seth Faro River and by last but by no means least is our Bardic bodyguard, our commander of the scene behind the DM screen, Dungeon Master Danny. I liked Bardic. I like the way you broke those syllables out. not I was trying to find my page actually, but yeah, I definitely referenced it on purpose. I wasn't calling you a dick. It was a reference to the the girth.
00:04:07
Speaker
of you Thank you. Anyway, and speaking of which, we find ourselves deep in sleep, sleep guard, God, in sleep guard with a sleepy looking

Mystical Events and Group Dynamics

old girl. He lays there like a daisically on his bed, floating the orb upon his, you know, like the Maltese advert where they, you blow the Maltese up away from me. Obscure early naughties reference. Oh yeah. With the Maltese, with the orb in his mouth, but his long gangly toes. Yeah. at the end of the bed
00:04:39
Speaker
It's a bit too small for him. He stops the orb falling into his mouth. He spits it out. Bit of bile and mu or fuck violla mucus hanging off it as he stares into it. he Wipes it and sees us.
00:04:56
Speaker
Oooh, almost! So after the chaos of the demon thingy, Reigns gets a heal, and Seth gets suspecting, and Admiral gets a fucking solid gold halberd! Oh, shit! Bar gets some sort of cool explodey cape-y thingy that gives him some flight, too. Clip-clop goes to the group. Nix and Emron unpick Tillois's actions when he done did the running away. Nix and Emron seem to be getting on pretty nicely. Seth and Reigns do some chatting or some shit. They talk about some sort of chaos shit and how they might be Leopold guard now. I don't fucking know. Seth apologizes for the zombie to bar-bar. It's like, yeah, that's fine. But if that gets out of control, I'mma heat a bitch up. Nix gets a couple of rounds in, some drinking drinks, and there's a big Cheers. And some slaves go by, and that doesn't sit well with Emron.
00:05:42
Speaker
And they found out that the slaves are deserving, because they're all murderous bastards! And everyone's like, oh, that's fine, actually. Nyx questions Alpha's memory room. Nyx also suggests that maybe the champion should be changed to the demon killer, Raines! But what's that? We smell some sort of salty breeze. Oh, they must be near the coast! Bald decides in a really fucking genius move to try out the cape, which just eliminates all light sources nearby and attracts a fucked-up detention from some posh sleep guardian bastards and they don't take no for an answer and they're like what's the fucking cargo and says like don't worry boys I got this blood iron oops
00:06:25
Speaker
um oh fantastic The party

Encounters and New Alliances

00:06:29
Speaker
find themselves huddled around this tiny hut conjured by Seth, a short distance away from the road. Behind the hut is Trunks, your faithful elephanti companion, disconnected from the two wagons that he has been pulling thus far. One empty, one containing the abcisca prisoner known as Dribbo. This group of sleep guardian noble youths are sort of scattered around, trying to find out more about your activity, where you're going, what you're up to, specifically what's inside this other crate that's covered. So this other cargo. What's the cargo that's covered in this crate that's on wheels? They're all slightly intoxicated. They're all assertively curious.
00:07:17
Speaker
As tensions begin to rise, you just hear from the road, enough vatcha bolt that refuse to send your body back to your father in a box, ah away with the lot he is. And you see this grizzled figure on horseback emerging between the dunes. His presence, both authoritative and calming, as much as some of those posh yobs that surrounded you were up for a bit of an aggressive scrap or a bit of a... ah They were chanting it, to say the least. Immediately that instruction just sort of cuts through their bravado and they begin to slowly disperse.
00:08:09
Speaker
One of them that was quite locked with you Seth in that moment where you had that exchange at the last episode holds that gaze much longer, then begins to step away. The figure on horseback, his skin as dark as night, which contrasts with this stark, white dreadlocks that flow down his back. I'm thinking like um the the head of House Valerian in the new House of the Dragons series. I cannot remember that character's name. I just know he's the head of that house. Darren probably knows it.
00:08:47
Speaker
Nope. He was the worst though. Yeah, failed. Nevermind then. So as he dismounts from his horse and begins to approach, you just sort of see, not in the the sunlight because there isn't any, and the moonlight isn't ah in that favorable direction. What is illuminating him as he approaches is this object in the sky that is now giving this really rich, almost um pulsating blue across the desert.
00:09:23
Speaker
in the action of dismounting you just spy this very large glaive strapped to his back made of this solid glistening silver he turns back and walks towards you i apologize on behalf of this gentleman this entitled fucking group of children i do hope
00:09:54
Speaker
No harm was caused. And as he gets to within about 10 feet of, I imagine Seth at this point is the closest to the road. I'm not quite sure where everyone was scattered at this point. He is a broad figure, but shorter than most of you. He stands at a sort of a moderate five foot seven, but incredibly broad for a human. What will the party do?
00:10:22
Speaker
ah Seth just being probably the one nearest him at the time and just um kind of give a thanking kind of nod to him um and kind of not release the tension from his shoulders, take a deep breath, exhausted as he is from the day and just say, my thanks ah for your intervention there. Things were going to get messy. They wouldn't have got fucking messy. This lot are a bunch of
00:10:57
Speaker
Sorry. I have nothing to apologize for. Are they nobility? Are they yeah very important in scorch helm? They're sleep guardians, a lot of them. All with very famous fathers. I'm there and he sort of spits, rolls saliva on his tongue and spits it as he says this. Child a minder.
00:11:24
Speaker
All right. Looks like you've any sass kind of watching them kind of teeter off over the jeans. Looks like you've got a big old job on your hands.
00:11:37
Speaker
Name's Flood. Of the Osrin Isles. Flood. Nice to meet you. I've never traveled that far north to go to Osrin. I'm not gonna lie, I've heard a lot of shit things about it. Yes, all the time, doesn't it? No.
00:12:01
Speaker
up i fall um Sorry, rain is going to fall in next to alpha on the mention of the odds are in aisles knowing that alpha is well read on some of the terrible things that happened over the blight. And he's just going to go. i Did you say in one of your stories that the odds are in aisles were like deserted because of a lunatic fella? Yes, there was. Why? Because this bloke saying he's from him, that's all. He does not present himself as a lunatic. Seems rather calm.
00:12:35
Speaker
um Excuse me, sir. ah Yes. um fact Thank you for your help there, by the way. but they They were my fucking charges. Sorry they got out of hand. You said Arthur and Iles? Yes. I thought everybody from Athern Isles disappeared. To give my youthful curiousness, I've just... I never met... ah Yeah, it's just freaky to meet someone from an island where everybody vanished. Our numbers got depleted when that fucking lunatic were about, but... Mainly the Western Isle, I'm from the East, but I was serving the surge at the time.
00:13:18
Speaker
i flip that Yeah, as Seth said, thanks for... Thanks for injecting. No bother. We're on our way to Jewel of Desert Champion, so there imagine I'll see you there. I'm competing. Hey, so's he! And Nix will point over at Seth. He's actually, he's gonna win. Oh. Die. I ah don't know about that. but He thinks I'm going to win. But then he also thought he was going to win and he's going to point to Emron. But then he didn't want to do it anymore. So you are now going to be the winner. But then he wanted Reigns to do it after that. Reigns just laid waste to that huge beast. And I didn't say I didn't want to do it. I just wasn't prepared to wear that fucker's tabard. He wanted us to fuck it up. Yeah, that's part of the thing, everyone. That was part of the deal.
00:14:13
Speaker
Anyway, it's your deal, not us. we We're part of it. We're going to be there too. It's nice to meet another normal, if you can consider us normal. ah but We look forward to seeing you through the battlefield. no Are you going to go in bloodied or not? I could hit him in the face beforehand, I guess, if that's the... None of you have been to games before? I mean, Paul, have you been before you? No, completely new to me. Oh, so when you enter, you can choose whether to go on essentially ah with a safety net or not. Bloodied means you refuse the right of resurrection afterwards. Often you get better odds and you get better prizes for doing so. But if you lose, that's it. It's against the rules to bring you back.
00:15:11
Speaker
Or you pay a little bit more and you're not bloodied, which means someone will get you up after. A lot of folk could go in. They choose the safe option, but... Not us. Most of the the times. We are the top ones. Is that no resurrection from like, could you have members of your friends resurrect? You can't be brought back, whatever. No, the games won't allow oh it. It'd lose a reputation. Yeah, yeah, yeah, makes sense, makes sense. yeah We haven't decided that far ahead on that yet, but ah we appreciate the foresight to know that's an option. Honestly, Seth strikes fear into the hearts of many people. It's okay if you're scared. It's just my eye, you know? It's just a deformation. He's a fearsome warrior. I wouldn't worry about it so much this end of competing.
00:16:07
Speaker
just
00:16:09
Speaker
Be on your guard if you're matched against any people who are bloodied. They're going to fight different. They're going to fight like their life literally depends on it. And that brings out- Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, we we we can be matched. If we choose not to get bloodied, we we could be put into a situation where it's- I think it's everywhere. It only affects your odds and how much you get and how much people get for betting on you. It's everywhere once. Who knows? We don't know what the games are going to look like this year. Okay. We do know one thing though, Seth's gonna win. In fact, would you like to put a bet on it? Well, it could make it more interesting. I'm not gonna bet against myself, lad. Yeah, he he's competing. That'd be bad form to bet against himself.
00:16:56
Speaker
Listen, we're we're all tired from the day and we thank you for the information, my bloody- I've kept you. I've kept you. I look forward to seeing you when we get knocked about. Seth's going to reach out a hand to kind of shake an arm or a hand to him. Flood and of the Australian Isles. nice Nice to make you acquainted. And your name, friend? I'll tell you what. If we meet over the battlefield, then I'll tell you my name. And I definitely didn't call himself if that's the case. likeite next don chatto milk can you I mean, I've been saying it quite a lot. Just this whole conversation. Yeah, I know. But he, he hadn't picked up on that Nick. So I was just, you know, Well, he'd be pretty ah fucking stupid for him not to pick up on it. When I kept saying him, Seth over there will be our champion and we'll win. Seth will win. Seth is a fearsome warrior. Yeah. So my name is Seth. Um, puts his hand out further and says,
00:17:54
Speaker
Seth. We're still working on group dynamics, as you can tell. Nice to meet you, Flood. And he'll shake his hand. But I will just quickly pipe up. Flood, are you going in solo? Oh, why? You say that with sort of as if that's the done thing. Is it the done thing? No, you'll get some individuals, you'll get some groups. I just
00:18:24
Speaker
You get used to, at my age, knowing that the only person you can count on having your back all the time through anything is your own.
00:18:41
Speaker
But we'll just kind of shoot the quickest of glances around the group that he's with. Nick's will look down at that.
00:18:53
Speaker
But if you're going to go in this group, yeah, you stand a good chance. But what happens when there's, you know, six of you standing at the end? Well, your face with unbelievable riches. But if we're not going in bloodied, um no harm, no foul, you still have to, you know. ah for I thought, I thought, I thought we were just going to walk up field. That was an option. Yep. Yep. That's, that's, that's what I thought too. But when you see the prizes, are you really going to want to give that up? We share the prizes as a group. If one of us wins, we all win. Yeah. I think what's been said is is that the big prizes are only reserved for someone who's bloodied, which means... No, that's absolutely not the case. Oh, well then... happy god Listen, Reigns.
00:19:45
Speaker
You just get better odds on you know putting money on them. But what I'm saying is, are you all above temptation? The prize isn't just coin. It's life-changing things. I think most of us are above temptation. I think we haven't really thought it through, Vlad. We've gone through some relative hardships in the desert recently. and I think a bit of civilisation and time to ourselves will help us come to our come to our minds about what and how we want to tackle this thing. We're all still quite new to this. Just take your time when you sign up. Make sure you see what's actually in it for you. Is there anything we should keep an eye out for when we do sign up? Like other ticket touts or scammers or anything like that? The last time I was in a big city it was Goldview and a bunch of fucking awful people there too.
00:20:41
Speaker
If you're stupid enough to want to compete in the games, no one's going to try and fuck with you. But when you're in there signing up, going through the proving, there'll be a task. It could hurt, but you'll also, you'll learn what the prizes are.
00:21:05
Speaker
Sadly, after you agree to do it, but they're all worth it.
00:21:12
Speaker
Have you ever won? Came close one year. This is my fourth time. Do you go bloodied or have? Well, of course you haven't. Otherwise you'd be dead. Nevermind. That's a silly thing to say. I thought about it. And since the blind, this is a strange world.
00:21:34
Speaker
ah Okay, I'm really curious now. If we you say being bloody doesn't affect the prizes we could win, it just helps the odds of people who are betting on us. What does the person who goes in bloody get out of it? Some say an advantage. Imagine being in a cage with someone who's not afraid of losing their own life. They'll fucking scare you. You can also show them me if potentially you put money on yourself, Reins, that your own odds are better.
00:22:08
Speaker
Definitely leaves us with food. You don't have to worry about coming through your side of the bed, calling wines if you're dead afterwards. You can't shake money from a dead man. I mean normally money's handed over before. In in tournaments and pit fights normally you have to give the money to someone already for experience. What would you like down this collateral which is done as a given? If you if I were you.
00:22:36
Speaker
And you're faced with fighting someone bloodied. Make allegiances fast. They'll be the biggest threats in there. I may be amongst them this year.

Flood's Departure and Strategic Discussions

00:22:52
Speaker
Do um many of the groups that sign up, do they have like a group name or something? Or do they just go in as like this person and this person along with this person, if you get my drift? Officially, you can't do it. They won't allow you to go in as groups, but you can go in as friends and then there are no rules once it starts. So then, you know, you, you can't leave the arena. All right. So you sign up as an individual, but then, and then it turns out most people are in fucking league with each other. but not So the, the bloody decision is an individual choice. i And you're saying that people
00:23:29
Speaker
is there a way Are there places where non-competitors hang out? Is it worth us trying to mingle with those that are going to take part to try and gauge people before the fight, that kind of stuff? Some people you know try that sort of tactic, but you can get to you know talking to folk during the proving, during sign up, find out where they're staying if you want to chat to them. I mean, there's no rules.
00:24:00
Speaker
I don't know. I like to just fucking sign up and be to my own. Just a final question for me on this, what I'm enrolled in, we've heard talk of this, these games and and and ah a name came up as a potential favorite, someone who seems to be highly touted. You seem quite well versed. You ever heard of this ah Valkyrie?
00:24:29
Speaker
Yes, I have.
00:24:32
Speaker
and he or she is um fucking nuts what can you tell me about them the four years I've competed every year she has two and the last time I competed before the black tie almost won
00:25:02
Speaker
She got me. How does she fight? That's the thing. I couldn't tell you. Every year it's different. Every year she just reinvents her entire fighting style.
00:25:25
Speaker
Sounds like quite a fighter. She wasn't having the beer. uh, of ork blood by any. No, half or orange skin, lots of tattoos.
00:25:44
Speaker
Sounds like a worthy five for us to face. She's not the strongest. She's not the best. She's not the favorite, but she can fucking survive till the end. And most of this is about survival. Did she win the year you took you out? No. No. That year we all got fucking conned by a little fucking gnome who was disguised as a fucking box the whole fucking time ah right at the fucking end. That fizzle fuck clinched it. but So anything goes when you're in? Yeah. Listen, flood.
00:26:33
Speaker
I know technically we would be competitors if we all put our names forward, but if we do see you in the field, know that, you know, if you need some support, even for just a while, I'm willing to give you that support. As long as you don't stab me in the back like a cunt, because if you do, I will come for you. I tell you what, if I don't go in bloodied.
00:26:59
Speaker
Okay. Deal. They're going bloody. No hard feelings. No. Same here. Good to know. Look, look. And several turns here was, look, we can make friends out here. Look at that. We didn't punch this one. You're a good man, flood. I appreciate not punching those fucking boys. I better go. Oh, I was going to. I was going to rip his fucking head off, but you know. I sensed it. Well, yeah. You don't want to cross them though. The dads are fucking powerful men.
00:27:37
Speaker
We won't be welcome back in sleep, dad. If, if they, you know, any harm comes to those boys. Yeah. We're going to go back with them. It's not like the crude mud iron in the north, eh? What do you mean? Well, you know, when it comes down off the mountains, You need to clean it. You don't want them to go back to sleep guard or cover the mud, do you? I'm not a fucking minor. What are you on about? Well, I was just making it like a metaphor. You know, when you you've got your pressure, never mind. I was making a point about like them. You won't need to look after them at all. Because they seem a bit naive. I don't really understand what you're talking about, but you whatever have yeah, look, I'm sorry. We're in French in the United.
00:28:24
Speaker
I look forward to competing against you in a few days time. A few days time. Is it that soon? All right. Well, what is it? Any he sort of looks to the sky? I thought we had longer. No, it'll be, it'll be at end of week. Shit. We've got to get a new one. Well, any sort of looks behind. It will take you much longer to get there with that thing pointing at trunks.
00:28:56
Speaker
Well, it won't take us much longer or will take us much longer. No, you'll you'll be there tomorrow. If that thing moves as quick as I expect, it looks like it can. Trunks can shift it. He just sort of pays for a second over Trunks.
00:29:14
Speaker
I won't ask any questions. Whatever that thing in that cage is, that's not for me. Good night. Safe travels. Appreciate it. Good night. Privacy. Good night. as he turns and goes back towards his horse, just capturing some of that reflection from the the object in the sky against this beautiful silver glaive. Almost blinds your eyes for a moment, like you're catching the sun in your phone screen or a watch or whatever. And he mounts, heads back to the road and out of view. It'd be a damn shame if he does go in bloodied. He seems like quite a nice chap. That is an honorable man right there.
00:29:56
Speaker
i I've shaped those from quite a lot of aggro. We all just agree on something. What's that? I think we all agreed we fancy this man a little bit. I was going to say, is anyone else kind of a bit steamy? That's because you were on fire. no nowba Yes, you you were on fire. And speaking of which, how was it? How did it look? I think we've got the hang of attention. That's true. We couldn't really see much, you blew out all the light. I thought it was on my back, I thought I was kind of... Have you ever seen, like, a hacer on fire? Right. A hacer, yes. Just like that. Just like that. Like a board of fire. What's a hacer? A haircut. Who? I don't understand you.
00:30:47
Speaker
Nix, what do you think? Which one? A cart of hay, Seth. A cart full of hay. Oh, thank you. I'll get it now. It's an exit party. Sorry, Bob. How did I look, Nix? What? How did I look when I lit up the cape? How did I look? Were you not fucking watching? I wasn't listening. What did you ask? How did I look when I lit up the cape, Nix? Amazing. Do you fucking write? Well, we'll kind of turn back and and make his way back into the bubble. Did you even see him, Nix? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He looked great. and I wanted to insight check that as well. I didn't want to insight check that bad boy. Absolutely. I'm really sure it's an insight. What do I do? I have not. Well, a good septial persuasion, whichever you're telling it. is
00:31:46
Speaker
I got three. um So you're trying to see whether or not Nick's... actually saw Baal. What were they telling the truth? yeah i If they're telling the truth that you saw him, Nick's role of persuasion check. Nick looks like he wants that he was deep in thought about something and then just got asked the question. Nick obviously saw what Baal did, but his mind, he's preoccupied with something else. So he's answering in a way to just
00:32:20
Speaker
Hurry the conversation on. Deflect. So if Seth fails to check, does that mean Seth thinks Nix is lying? And if you're inciting someone's truth, do you know they're telling the truth? I think because there was no active lie here or no active attempt to persuade or deceive. Is it just the fact that my ability to, yeah, to read. It's difficult to read. So I'm there going, hmm, I don't know. I don't think there's necessarily a roll off here. I think it's more, Seth, based on that role, you're convinced he saw a ball fly. It was pretty bloody impressive. Yeah. What's happening now? We're going to it. Well, what we're camping, sleeping, getting up to get to the sea.
00:33:05
Speaker
clip clock I'm glad it took two of you to explain that, but thanks. Awesome. I'm going to, we've done the 10th thing, right? oh he's been's right that you were just eat it It's over there. Smashing. Thank you. and ni saw ah <unk>undel off not get in the tent, he's going to stay outside. He's going to go near Dribbo again, where he was the previous night, and he sat next to the ah cage. And he's just going to sit his back prepped up against the cage. Dribbo, he shouts out and then he'll get ready for the night. So, book out, orb out, and the um ah the time tuner thing out from around his neck, and he lay them all out in like a triforce.
00:33:47
Speaker
I'm going to take the first watch. I'm still buzzing off the adrenaline. just um I'll stay out here too. When when Nick leaves, everyone turns to others. Is he alright or does he seem off to anyone else? I cannot tell. I don't really ever know with Nick's, I can never tell what's going on in that tiefling brain of him. I could possibly say he is acting unusual, but Nix is an unusual character. He doesn't seem out of context. I know, he just eat you he's bit eat's a bit more aware with the fairies that he he normally is, I don't know. No, he's over there, and you're not with any fairies. It's a metaphor. Even though I got that one, Alpha. Sorry. Guys, my apologies. We have been ignoring this thing because we've had lots of other issues going on in our lives, but that thing is going a bit more blue and looks a bit bigger.
00:34:42
Speaker
I assume it was a reflection of the light. No, I mean the thing in the sky. Yeah, I assume it was just reflecting the light differently. I don't know. It's a bit more intense, seth I would agree. Definitely looks like it's been pulsating a bit more. That worries me. Is there anything we can do about it? no but Just hangs there, doesn't it? ah you What does Alito say about big blue floating orbs in the sky? Alito does not, strangely enough, the stories of Alito does not feature big glowing orb disk things in the sky. What's the shame? I know, you know, it doesn't work like that. I don't know. I'm sure there are people in Scorchow when there are people in the world far more important than us.
00:35:37
Speaker
trying to solve that. your um Your boss, for example, they seem quite you know thinking about it. Yo, I'm still really concerned that no one seems to be the people we're looking for yet. Well, we've not got to scorch up yet, have we? We were told to get to scorch up. You heard me fucking up with those people earlier. We did, yep. We need to all be on this, because if you just rely on me, I'm going to give the game away. I'm going to get this dribbled person killed. Yeah, well, we'll get there. We'll get there. I think once we get to Scorcham, I assume someone will be looking out for us with a
00:36:13
Speaker
cart and that lot and then they'll they'll they'll they'll make their introduction somehow. We need to maybe stick to our names. Do you remember the names we gave ourselves? You're Osiris. Yeah, because we've started giving our names away again. I don't know. Nix is Dix. Yeah, obviously. Alphas. Tintin. Tintin. Tintin. You were Bjorn, weren't you? I was Bjorn. I was Trigger. We were Trigger, yeah. But I was Trigger. Rains was Bob. Was it Kennard? It was Kennard. Kennard. Reins was Kennard, yes. Or Barry. Tim Tim. Tim Tim is my favourite one still. Tim Tim. Tim Tim with a Y. Not Dining Tim. I got that wrong. No, no, Tim Tim Tim. Oh yeah. No, I said Tim Tim.
00:37:04
Speaker
That's the good thing. Is it Tim Tim? Is it Tim Tim? You don't know. And then you're like, no, I'm not Tim Tim. I'm Tim Tim. And it's a good disguise. You're saying the same thing, Seth. That's what you think. It's a very sort of trigger. I'm pretty sure in episode 87, it was Tim tin Tim. Tim Tim. Tim Tim. I'm not Seth. I'm Osiris. Wait, hold on. Hold on. Alpha, can you make a con save? What? Can you make a con say for me? I can. Why? You'll find out. As Bartle just chants a little incantation. Uh, 14? Fail. You are reduced. Look, it's Tiny Tim Tim. You cunt.
00:37:56
Speaker
ah After half six seconds, I'll let go of it. You'll go back to normal size. Well, it is good to know if I need to um hide sometimes. That was totally worth it. It was a massive waste of for lots of my energy. I do apologize. It's all right. You're going to get that energy back overnight, Torit. Anyone else? i've got I've got one more. No. Tiny dicks. Tiny dicks. Big dicks.
00:38:22
Speaker
Dicks is already tiny.
00:38:25
Speaker
Do you watch a score or something, Emeron? i no Maybe one more week in the morning. We'll decide upon, we'll make sure we know our names before we go into scorch helm. And I'm still going to hide my face. I don't think, I don't trust. I've got a very fucked up distinctive face. So I think I'm just going to hood it like we did with the Krishna before. um And Alpha, I think we hide your your metal. It used to. They forgot they could do it. No, i I do not wish to hide who I am. Then you're going to get captured and taken back across the seas to the... Or dragged to a hell plane.
00:39:07
Speaker
or help apply helpline, yeah, that as well. Like you were almost done just now, like literally like an hour ago, or four hours earlier than that when you got dragged off by the assassin, or the day before that, do you see my picture? I am circling a pattern. Yeah, I think you need to copy that. A disguise that I can implement will only be temporary, so perhaps but like a shape of some description would be more suitable. Yeah, I think i think that's what we're thinking. disguise yeah You got disguise self, haven't you? Same as me? Yes, but the time span of it is limited. Of course, like an L. You can put that up like if we're speaking to people close close quarters, but like just a hood to cover the... you know It gleams in the sun, bro.
00:39:55
Speaker
Like you're like a lighthouse in the sun. It's beautiful. But you know, mean now you we have if it is the consensus that I disguise and hide who I am, why we enter Georgetown and so be it. Well, you know, I'm just one, I'm just one ugly fuck giving advice to another ugly fucker. What? It's my face. I couldn't, anyway i' I'm going to go to bed. I'm joking. Alpha, you look gorgeous. sort of I do not. No, if I look gorgeous either, there is nobody by comparison except magnets. Magnets? Magnus. I think I'm deaf. What is what is a Magnus? He was a somebody who we encountered but many, many weeks back, just for a brief moment. Why isn't he coming with us? and He had other tasks to deal with, I'm afraid. One of which was being eaten
00:40:53
Speaker
Oh shit. Was he successful? No, not by me. We were attempting to eliminate a terrible monster and unfortunately Magnus failed. Was he better looking than you? He was older.
00:41:13
Speaker
How old are you? Um, I believe about two years. Oh, so I'm older than you as well actually. chi Yeah, it's both likely. No, you're older than that, Alfa. Alfa? Seth, just, oh yeah, you sustained two points. I sustained two points. I I I I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. I sustained two points. It was the phrase you said um about myself being older. just I am older. no Three points of lightning damage. So anytime someone says that, i hurt yourself. I do not hurt myself, but my body has a reaction that I am unfamiliar with that causes me pain. Where does the pain come from?
00:42:21
Speaker
It is just a sensation I feel all over. But the chest is where it originates from the chest area. i who That picture came down again. Don't you guys, didn't you build him? What happens if I say it again and you quickly pull out whatever's causing him the pain? Isn't that how it works? Reigns isn't there. Oh, sorry ah sorry. I think we are outside. I don't think we're, we're not are we in the tent? um we haven't gone in that no university doesn't beside having a conversation who's gone rain moved so
00:42:57
Speaker
If it's in your chest, it could come from a memory room and that kind of stuff is more rain to the department. um I'll be honest, um there is nothing in you that should in theory ah create magic or create electricity or create any other fucking stuff you do. All that comes from the memory room and its intrinsic connection to whatever. ah For the sake of openness and honesty that we are attempting to create within the group, the reaction

Alpha's Mysterious Experiment

00:43:25
Speaker
seems to have been happening from The moment the disc appeared in the night sky, or in any sky actually, not just the night sky. Does anything happen to it when you say the phrase?
00:43:42
Speaker
and no I don't know. I have not perceived that. I mean, it's a bit far away for us to actually tell, isn't it? What if you shout really loud? I believe it was imperceivable whether it was really close and therefore small or really far away and really big. Let's try it. I'm sorry, tested go ahead. Do you mind if I, I'm just going to, I just, um'm I'm fascinated. a May I just try something and if it hurts, I'll make the pain go away. And in Draconic, can I say I am older, but in Draconic, does it have the same effect? No. So you obviously understood that as well, Alpha. I did. yeah idea And I'll carry on in Draconic and say, how do you feel?
00:44:24
Speaker
And I will respond in Draconic as well. Oh, most? Interesting. That's an unusual thing. So that's going to turn to Enron and say, you know, in some cultures it's rude to speak another language. I know, it's, yeah. Back in common. Sorry, I just, I tried the phrase in my native language and he seems fine. I wonder if I was, if I was, if I was using my magic to tell what spells are affecting you and it happened, whether we would learn anything. It would require precise timing but I have some hit points left I'm willing to try. I mean it's all I've got to be doing is have my hand on you as I'm casting the spell and it takes about a minute to be cast. So if you say the words as you are doing the cast you would be optimal for timing.
00:45:15
Speaker
I would assume so, we yeah. Well, let's experiment. OK. And is it at the end of the older that it happens or is it halfway through the word? Does it know the phrase is going to be said? It has to be the full phrase when it happens. So you can't, like, say it backwards or anything like that. It seems to have no effect. OK, Danny. um M. Baldur. No, nothing. and just ah So danny I'm gonna I'm gonna cast the spell identify on alpha and say the phrase at the same time to see if I can tell whether what if the magic of the identify spell is able to tell me anything about the effect that happens to alpha as it happens.
00:46:05
Speaker
Sure. I just need you to make a perception check for the fact that you will happen to cast and concentrate. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Simultaneously. Could I, whilst that's happening, be over his shoulder watching, kind of being that kind of, oh yeah, just kind of being in away a little bit, but also wanting to do like, ah I want to check for the magical, separate, a separate role, I think, ah the magical and elements of it. So do like an Arcana check to see if there's any, any, any obvious signs. of That's not how Arcana works, damn it. Well, how should it work? I can't even tell you the history of spells, whether you can identify spells. It's not sense magic and it's not identify. Well, what's sense magic then? I want to sense magic. It's just the spell detect magic. Yeah, detect magic, sorry. All right, I want to know the history of the magical spell. Arcana checks your ability to recall lore about spells, magic items, eldritch symbols, magic traditions, the place of existence. It's a magic item. He's a magic item.
00:47:00
Speaker
Oh, I want to check on the history of this magic item known as Alpha. Okay. Sorry. You can't use Arcana to replace a spell. But you could use it to look into memory ruins if you were of organic perception. Perception. Here we go. As I'm doing the whole thing. Maybe I'll just, yeah, okay. I'll aid, I'll aid Emron in a, in a, in a, in a perception check then if that's okay. Just to backtrack. In which case where all your, your aid will use your rules for the help action. Okay. That is going to be a five. So I think that's a minus one. Sorry. Minus one to your role, please, Emron. Okay. That's 17.
00:47:38
Speaker
Okay, so yeah, as you cast with one action and then cat detect at the same time, that's enough, even with the minus one, just to capture that. In that moment where, who is saying the trigger? I'll get Seth set. I thought you were doing a focus, we were doing the timing thing with you. Yeah, well, okay. I can explain the minus one. but i get it Yeah, that'll probably explain the minus one, yeah. Seth says it. I do it now. I am older. Alpha, you sustain. four points of lightning damage, Emron, and that moment where he sustains the damage you have a massive rush of evocation magic just for a second and then it dissipates.
00:48:20
Speaker
And Balz is going to give you a quick lick and heal you for nine points, ah bernie nine a Bernie healer tingles your tongue. Oh my! It's weird Alfred, it's almost like Evocation. that that's That's creation magic, isn't it? Evocation. Yeah. Raw energy. Evocation. Darren, I'm having an encountered conversation, Tove. Rage is here. Feel free to have an input, otherwise fuck off. Thinking about this, Alpha would probably, you know, Callum has no fucking clue.
00:48:56
Speaker
ah Because everyone does the other shit. um Evocation. is that Is that creation? And he's looking at the spellcasters ah like Seth and and and Alpha and Baal probably as well. Is that kind of, I don't know. it's no No, not really. it's The manipulation of energy. Okay, take something that's already here and you change it. And you, ah and you tap into it and you move it. So maybe it's it's definitely, it's definitely memory ruin base. Cause there's nothing else in you that's, that's evocation.
00:49:33
Speaker
But why has it started when it did and not been here the entire time you've been alive, Alpha? What's different? That's the only thing I can think of is that thing in the sky. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Plus you interacted with, um, with Magnus. There was that interaction, weren't there? There was, but there was... And you carried a bit of him around with you? As I still do. But that phrase has been uttered in my presence by him, but it had no effect on me like that. I mean, maybe it's like a... I mean, the only sort of comparison we'd have is, like,
00:50:16
Speaker
like a disease or an affliction where it takes time to to build up until it then shows symptoms. like Is it possible this is the second curse that Hope had partially identified upon our last meeting? ah y'all It's not a bad shout.
00:50:38
Speaker
She said you were under two curses, didn't she? indeed and one was going to kill me quickly and one not so quickly um the positive woman maybe that's maybe that's something we look into when we get to scorcher first get your gun fixed because we need you at full fighting capacity and two this is true let's figure out what the fuck is up with that i am you know what the drums with boulder Yes, I would like to know more about it. And then I suppose, yeah, because once we're in Scorcher, we've got a lot of stuff we can probably ditch and equip ourselves. um We need to decide whether we want to flog that golden halber or whatever it fucking is. It's very strange. The armour in Snakefront did believe I would easily be able to find parts to fix my weapon. Well, I'm hoping
00:51:29
Speaker
the guild have a ah ah place within the city, so we at least have resources we can access easier if we need to. so um Speaking of whether I'm going to, I'm flagging here, I'm going to hit the hay. Did Rain say he was taking first watch? Yeah, Rain said he was taking first watch. We probably should um to hit the rest. I mean, the fact that the tent made Sorry, I wasn't, like, ending the conversation, lads. I was just going to... No, yeah I mean, it's sensible. Anyway, I'm... Oh, dropped something. I was just going to say, I'll do the second... um I'll do the second watch. Well, Alfie, you'll be in sensory mode and Nick's done sleep. It seems daft.
00:52:16
Speaker
Why doesn't Nick sleep again? Is he got a thing? He hasn't he slept for ages. I mean, it's been a bit... I've not wanted to pry. Sometimes it gets a bit funny when you ask such things. Aye, Nicks! Nicks! You mean Dicks. Dicks! He mean it. Yeah! Why don't you sleep, bro? It's just a temporary thing. I don't know. Maybe some illness. ah I don't really know. I haven't looked into it so much. I'm sure I'll sleep one day again soon. Hopefully, maybe. I don't know. Cool. Yeah, I don't really know. and Maybe it gets all funny with it, doesn't it? Very different. That was classic Nick, so I think that was quite honest of him, actually. Maybe we can fix that as well. Get everyone all fixed up, ready to fight, and then... ah
00:53:05
Speaker
maybe I'm pretty sure if you don't sleep for too long, you die. Yeah, that's why. Yeah, I'm worried about it. I hear he's feeling good as well. That's much help. We might get you sorted, bro. Maybe we'll get some, uh, some healers on you. Okay. Maybe some herbs. Anyway, some herbs. Right. that That's, yes. Uh, Alpha, you're going to be in central mode, aren't you? I will, but it is still a low power state, and I will still need my own form of rest. Yes, but you're aware of everything around you, aren't you? Indeed. OK, Nick's don't sleep, and we've got a tent that we are basically inrunnable. Oh, it's a fucker watch. Let's just all go to bed. I mean, it... Oh, a drunk and stuff, and the prisoner. Ah, yeah, not really not. I mean, rain only needs four hours.
00:53:58
Speaker
or whatever it is to sleep. So I'm going to fuck off. Yeah, I know. Right, I know. Yeah, let's go to sleep. Me too. If I don't get my eight hour sleep, I'm an app. It's just, yeah, it's just fucking flat having kids. That explains it. Okay. Right. Yeah. I range. I'll let that go. I'm not range. I'm Seth. Seth, we may be a light jovial pat on the back of Emeron. We'll walk into the tent that's the form of the barracks and with the hammocks on the sides and we'll just ditch his spell book, take off his robes, take off his pants, start bollock naked, clone note. He'll fully dress, get into a hammock and fall asleep very, very quickly. And one, however, does get a start bollock. Nice. Nice. So Seth's on full night's sleep. Emron, you're on full night's sleep. Yes. Bal, sleeping through. Anything you want to do before you go to bed?
00:54:49
Speaker
Yeah, no, I'm just going to be changing my prepped spells for the morning, but just in the process of that, as he's kind of, he'll ignite himself a little bonfire as he usually does and just be kind of yeah mulling things over, but yeah, he'll be resting. Okay. What we're going to do, Rains, is we're going to say that you'll be up for the first half and then you'll sleep for the second half by the sounds of it. Well, yeah, I'll transfer. ah But Raines, I've got some stuff I want to do. on yeah first what let go Alpha will be present and Nix will be present through all of this. So whatever happens now involves just Alpha. Well, no, Alpha, you are powering down, you said. So it's just Nix and Raines are the only sort of um ones about. um So, Raines, you declared you were having first watch. Move yourself away from that group as they were concluding their thoughts. What were you doing? Raines has...
00:55:36
Speaker
to a dual purpose, he's just got out some Rubik's cubes and he started to run through some some basic spell family sigils on them, abjuration, evocation, and he's just comparing that to the new suit, but he's it's pseudo like he's doing something, he's he's waiting for a moment to go and speak to Nyx. As soon as he sees that everyone else is gone, Reigns is going to go over to him and go, so um How you doing, Nix?
00:56:10
Speaker
Good. You? Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay. I feel a little strange to a for the demon today. Big big thing. Yeah, yeah. Yes, of course. And wow, what a ah thing you did. Like, you took that thing down. I was suitably impressed. And a little in awe. Slightly terrified. A little bit turned on. Yeah, all those things too. All those things too. um So, I guess you're the only other person who seems to have maybe taken this in, but this Valkyrie is either the Valkyrie or it's or it's Merola, right? that's
00:56:57
Speaker
It can't be another mistaken identity. It's gotta be one of those two.
00:57:05
Speaker
Well, I mean, we really don't... We don't know. We don't know. We don't know. Could be anyone. I mean, I've said however many names about myself in my past, and we'll probably... I mean, I've got a new persona noun. Dicks, isn't it? So, who knows until we know? You know? Just, um, checking in to make sure you're okay with that. It's just fine. It's not a thing. It's not a thing. It's not even in my mind.
00:57:45
Speaker
Something seems to be on your mind. You sure you're okay? ah I mean, it's been a, A busy day, isn't it? I mean, we saw a big demon and it was nice to see the group work in harmony like a crew. um So a lot has happened today, especially after the last few days. It's ah ah maybe just taking its toll. Sure. That's it. Yeah. ah Just checking you're good. That's all. All good. All good. Always. Great. Great. That's ah that's that's that's really great, Nick.
00:58:21
Speaker
Appreciate you checking in. You're welcome. Oh, other thing you were saying before about if we need to get a ship when we leave and that you're the guy that do it, is that something you genuinely think you could do? Absolutely. If you want a ship, I can get you a ship. Great. But just to confirm, I ain't why I came over here. I came over here because I'm more older. Well, she was a big presence and I miss the two of you miss her. Probably not as much as you missed her because you go through a lot with her, but I'm just saying if it rights it's okay. Okay.
00:59:03
Speaker
Yeah. If you want to ship, I can get you a ship. Uh, just point me at the dock. In fact, just get me near the water and I'll sniff one out. That's, um, I appreciate that. It will be mighty fine. malant
00:59:20
Speaker
Okay, I've got some magic-y stuff to do. yeah yeah yeah fun and I don't question the sleep thing, by the way. You fell off a cliff and died and came back. That's a bigger marvel than me than the fact you don't sleep. So I don't question it. It's your business.
00:59:37
Speaker
Yeah, it's fine. It's not a thing. It's not a thing. I'll sleep eventually, right? I mean, we all sleep as eventually, whether we want to or not. ah Well, I've never slipped myself. It's a trance thing, but I do stop. I take the point. I don't carry on like you seem to. That's, that's something new to me. Yes. I follow what you're saying. Ah, you don't. I sometimes don't, most of the time don't follow what I'm saying, but just
01:00:12
Speaker
Just know that you said about a crew and we've been together a while now and if you ever want to chat, I don't need too much sleep myself. And you ever want to touch base at a point where this is a good time. This is a good time for me because I sometimes have stuff in my brain and I find putting it somewhere is a particularly useful thing. So it's just a reciprocal thing. If you'd like, next, that's all.
01:00:37
Speaker
thought but Thanks, Grains. Genuinely.
01:00:43
Speaker
Genuinely welcome. Savvy. Oh, one more thing before I go. NC. And NC will just pour you a cup of ah relaxing ah caramel tea. It's got got much better since Goldview, this stuff. Ah. Cheers. To you. To you? Demon killer. ah It's my daddy. He's that one. He will shiver it. Daddy. Yeah. At your age. Yeah. Yeah. no Judgment. No judgment. There's a level of age maturity that at that but but by bad most races, despite the fact that I'm in my fifties, I'm like and not that old in some races. It's why I sometimes say dumb things. I'm sure it's a shadow Mendian thing, daddy.
01:01:42
Speaker
it It's on the ground scheme of things. it I'm going to stop i'm gonna stop before I say something else. We're just dumb checking in. I appreciate it. Got you. Rains is going to just walk off and take in the dunes in the direction of the sea, just allowing the breeze of the salt air to just Wash over him, hasn't smelled that for a while. And it's not a strong one. And it brings you no so temperature change. It's just once every 15, 20 minutes, there is just a southerly breeze. It just pulls that briny smell.
01:02:32
Speaker
During your watch, Raines and Nyx, we will come to you in a second, during your watch before you need to take a break, you do spy, not necessarily spy, as you are awoken to and mildly alert to heavy, epichristic movement on the road as they are coming back, they're coming from the direction you've traveled towards Scorchhelm with a number of their own comrades, corpses on horseback.
01:03:04
Speaker
Any descendants of the suit that Reigns hadn't taken off because it's smattered and shallot and sleek, Guardian, Haldry is gone. Reigns has taken the suit off. It's back in the bag of holding. He's not going to risk that. There is no, no one they're carrying has the armor of King Leopold's League guard at all. It's just they've just picked up their own kind, essentially. And there's a moment where you think about alerting people, but they make no effort to sort of break um pace. They don't come and into camp. You just spy them and it's gone in a matter of 10, 15 seconds. This sort of eight ah horseback convoy of a crisscross.
01:03:52
Speaker
And that's essentially all you see in your watch before you go into your trance. Nyx, as we sort of segue that moment back to you, where it rains to parts, and that briny smell for you is really comforting against all this. But what's more disconcerting, perhaps, is spiders. Lots of tiny spiders are now finding themselves coming towards you. And just when you know notice the first five, six, they then come through in quite a pace. And then there's a cluster of about 40 of them that just make the outline of a bird. And you're not one for birds. Your ability to understand zoology is not not far ranging.
01:04:50
Speaker
It's one particular bird you are becoming more accustomed to seeing right now. And that is the bird of prey that is a sparrow hawk. And it just holds that shape. The spiders just hold that shape for a second.
01:05:05
Speaker
And stay in it for a few minutes. Just watching you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I see you. I hear you. It's a good job I'm not spar scared of spiders.
01:05:22
Speaker
You got anything else to say while you're here or why is one? It's just a flicker of bioluminescence in two or three random cluster of spiders.
01:05:41
Speaker
Yeah, I thought as much. You know, you're not the only one now who can see and hear everything I'm doing. Maybe there's something that you can reckon with there.
01:05:52
Speaker
Feel like I'm being pulled in two different ways. Three, if I get a say in things.
01:06:03
Speaker
And then just in your mind, your own thoughts cycle around that instruction. The three different personnel you need to locate. I haven't forgotten. The one who watches the skies. an athlete, a criminal.
01:06:28
Speaker
And all the while, Dribbo is fascinated by what you're doing, watching everything that's happening, trying to see over your shoulder what you're doing to your book. But I imagine that's a bit more private and you sort of... Actually, in... Yes, but no. ah Because usually, Nix is by himself when he cruises his book, when he takes the chrono locket and he studies that and he looks at old Gelb's orb and he kind of... just almost breathes on it and and ah shines it up as the night goes on. He's used to beating by himself. He set himself next to Dribbo as kind of like this watch because no other motherfucker was doing it, and also he's got an affinity with Dribbo now since the whole jail times, prison break. ah He wouldn't necessarily think to hide what he's doing from Dribbo.
01:07:23
Speaker
So no, dr it ah not that it will probably mean, it'll probably mean fuck all, but just for your own notes, if Dribbo was to look over Nick's shoulder, Nick's ain't aware or anything. You do occasionally glance and he's just staring straight at you and everything you're doing with vested interest.
01:07:47
Speaker
Anything you'd like to be doing with your with your time alone? Uh, no, it's, uh, other than having that shout match to the sky over the Dr. Faustus play that's running for him. And he would just be going through his spell books and trying to learn something new, trying to keep his mind off Marota, failing to keep his mind off Marota. Picking up the orb, trying to spark anything from old gal, and then looking at the Crodo Locket and just wondering, when do I pull the trigger on this? And he's trying to...
01:08:31
Speaker
He keeps himself busy every night to stop his mind from thinking about all the things that he could be. And the whole Marota conversation is just one more to the list that he's just trying not to. ah But it's because it's the freshest one, I guess. ah He's trying extra hard tonight. OK, that's it. That's next. Otherwise, your you watch passes without incident. And we arise. at dawn, unless Alpha you were to wake yourself any earlier as the last person who has any ability to do so. i Don't forget Alpha doesn't count as unconscious when he's resting.
01:09:16
Speaker
I know. That's why. yeah know you I will say earlier about interjecting. you know I was just curious about because because because Barles asked about how loudly Nick shouted his shit and obviously hu I don't know where Alpha is. Sorry, m nis how loudly did you shout to the spiders in the sand?
01:09:39
Speaker
conversational to the spiders, it would have been centered, not out loud to the sky, talking in exasperated terms, but directed to the spiders, not to the sky. So however far the spiders are to him. um you know how he wouldn't If the spiders were doing it from 50 feet away, it's a big shout, but directed to the spiders. If the spiders are five feet away, it's still a louder, exasperated, emotion-filled type speech, but directed pinpoint to the, I know it sounds like a shitty thing to say, i not just, you know what I mean? Yes. Yes. So, so Bile, to answer your question, not loud enough to perhaps wake you or alert you, Alpha probably still the same. and i I think Alpha will just kind of hear it as a mumble.
01:10:28
Speaker
Is there anything, Alfa, you would to do with the waking couple of hours before dawn when the rest of the party wakes?
01:10:37
Speaker
um ah Probably just quickly before people start to stir, you'd probably just step outside and just as a bit of an experiment from the previous night as well. He's going to look to the disc which is still visible in the sky and it didn't work with Draconic, but just as a means of elimination, I'm also going to say I am older in Dwarfish and Elvish, which I can speak as well and just see if there's any reaction to them. It's just a process of elimination that's come across Alfred's mind. It's a weird morning flex. Which language do you say first? I would probably go Elvish.
01:11:18
Speaker
You would sustain 22 points of lightning damage. What the fuck? Glad you did this in the morning, mate. Long West hasn't kicked in yet. I'll save for half the sake it has. I gotta say, I think it would have. You've completed your element at the Long West. Sucks to be you. Would you say that out loud like that?
01:11:48
Speaker
Oh, I think. that i Help me out here, Callum. I probably wouldn't react ah vocally to the pain. you I feel like it would be, it it would be something that would knock Alva to the floor with that kind of damage in one here. It's an impact that's kind of shook through his body. So I think it emanated from the chest. So I think he would just, plummet to the floor. um I think Nick's 22 points of fucking damage. Nick, you'd be wise enough to know that something happened there. Straight up. And I am not saying it into over shift, that's the reaction that happened. I'm clarifying that fucking shit now, maybe tomorrow. Your line, Callum, is aye aye aye.
01:12:37
Speaker
ah Aye aye. Nick, just as the dawn is is breaking, you just see Alpha fall flat and shout out.
01:12:46
Speaker
oh ah ah Alva and Nix would kind of rush over to you. Alva? Alva would raise a hand just to stop Nix. It is almost kind of um refragging himself and his system. What are you doing? Apologies. i Experiment gone wrong. What? To gravity? I don't understand. Like, what happened? One one one moment, please. You're on your ass! Give me a moment. Do you want a hand? What, do you need oiling? What happened? You got like a bolt loose? You just get out of bed and like a screw fell off and you're on your ass? Nix, shut up. Are you just what? Alpha's still just like defrag and it's taken a few minutes. I was conducting an experiment. Yeah, you said that. With a phrase. And... What was the phrase?
01:13:45
Speaker
I am not going to repeat it. Well, you just put you on your ass. It is one I believe we have previously discussed anyway. Um, the phrase about age and somebody yeah is saying this with caution out somebody being older than myself. And it has shook me.
01:14:12
Speaker
Does that hurt you? You seem a bit shaken up. Like, how bad did this get you?
01:14:20
Speaker
it it It was a about two thirds my health in all terms. Two thirds of you! That sounds like 22 points! It was very, and if you'll pardon the not intentional pun, shocking. I'm lightning damage! Do you need a hand up? Come on, Alpha, get up. i' I'm fine. Shake it off! I'm gonna just kind of pull myself together, stand back up. That was most unusual. That is something that I... Don't say that again! No, no, i I... Ever again! I believe I will pass. Like the delete that from your memory! There is something to do with the phone. Don't even think it!
01:15:08
Speaker
Don't let any motherfucker in there say it either. If that puts you on your ass like that, we think you're going. They cannot live in ignorance, Nick. That's not ignorance, that's just stupidity. And that's coming from me. I didn't know what was going to happen. And we have... So you do it in the morning? You've got a whole day. What happens if we get ambushed again? You're going to be just sighing in the back? I can apply some minor repairs to myself for the day going ahead. emron
01:15:38
Speaker
What what what's happening? I think this is enough for the whole party to begin in a week. I think Nixon's very much shouting about all of this. He needs healing! Get your NC on him! but what what It is fine, I can heal myself. Are we under attack? No, he has attacked himself! What the hell, Alpha? He said some phrase. I don't really understand it, but some sentence. But he knocked himself on his ass and he's clearly hurt. And it's the start of the day. He hasn't even had coffee. I do not drink coffee. We haven't even had coffee. Alpha, what the fuck are you doing? It was an experiment. Yeah, without anybody else like nearby to make sure he didn't die.
01:16:26
Speaker
I didn't think a reaction like this would be so severe. I mean we've talked about experiments and you know the safety procedure, even Raines knows that, you know from his experiments. He had all sorts of safety, shiz. Look, the the the precursor to the experiment, the the reactions to it have gone far beyond my expectations, beyond and possibly anyone's expectations. Look at the depth of the aspirin he's put on the ground. That's how hard he fell. So so just for future reference, you know without actually saying it, what did you do that caused this reaction? The same phrase.
01:17:07
Speaker
we were experimenting with last night. oh I on ah yeah don't, don know don't, please don't. What do you do differently? Yeah, that's the question. I had attempted it in Elvish. It seemed to had no effect in Draconic. I thought it wise to possibly experiment with other languages. Isn't your memory room linked to an elf? Indeed. Do you reckon that's what it is? That makes sense. So saying it in Elvish would be a direct connection to whoever the memory room is. That makes sense. Right? Right? Anyone? There is yeah very little about this that makes sense, but it is a possible connection. Have you tried the Orvish? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I will not say it again um for today, I believe. Like he went down, guys. Down.
01:17:59
Speaker
It might be best, Alfa, that any self-experimentation for the fuzzy tingle time you do with the group. Or at least with someone in the group, not all of us at once, fuzzy tingle time, personal thing. Can someone heal him? Going forward, I believe that a good idea, but I am only aware of one more language um in which I can say that particular phrase. There should only be one more experiment. Yes, Dormish. I mean, I can say an inferno, but I ain't going to do that. Can someone hear them? Yeah, Alfred, are you patching up yourself or do you need help? Alfred's kind of just been doing a little bit of self-repair on him um while the conversation has been going off and I've got 10 points of healing out of mind. Let me have a look at you. Can I do a medicine check to see how much more healing he needs to get a full strength? Sure, make a medicine check.
01:18:52
Speaker
Rather than just asking Callum what his hit point total is. Alpha, what is your hit point status at the moment? About two thirds. Okay. um I mean, we've got healing potions, we do want to save them for the... I mean, actually, once we get on the road, Alpha, you could rest in the back of the tent. Bal, save yourself rather than pointing at yourself.

Journey Preparations and Threats

01:19:26
Speaker
You could rest in the back of the car and probably regain some points that way, you know. A rest would give me more time to recover and repair. You could rest for a bit, like an hour or so.
01:19:36
Speaker
Yes, I can. You sure I can brew you a tea right now? Let's not waste our resources. We've still got to get to the city. And, you know, we've been told that people want this cargo. So far, they've wanted Alpha rather than the cargo. So yeah, um I'm still expecting someone to come and try and take the box office before we even get to the city. There is one other a thing that we need to pick up at some point dawned on me in my trance is that that baby headed fuck fuck of a demon said, um, It was after her. Well, isn't the elf... We are already familiar with the ah with the fact that the elven figure that is contained within the memory room... Yeah, that that ain't what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that we've got things from fucking planes of hell looking for it. That's the development. Yes, yes.
01:20:34
Speaker
powerful enough bound that using afer of sort of control to use a demon to do its bidding for it, which is even more worrying. That's yeah, either way something or someone powerful is looking for that room. We've we've established that as well. yeah I think just step one for now is not saying words that will just cause you to self disrupt.
01:21:00
Speaker
That is definitely the the the put in for you guys. What would be your ship name? Reth. Give me a moment. I can come up with something better as you work. Okay, you take that moment.
01:21:40
Speaker
um We got ourselves a bit of a hot bother last night in terms of the that that nearly you saying the wrong thing and I think I've got that i got a spell that can help us with that. but um ah additional okay and I can do it whilst we're moving but it's going to take 10 minutes and Raines is going to tap the car and say I'm going to cast on this a spell called magic mouth, which when we think we're in the right circumstance, if i ah if if if it's someone we need to say, crew of the mud iron from the north to,
01:22:18
Speaker
The cart will just do it, which means if we're put on the spot like that, we're going to remove the margin of error. Would a talking cart not either strike people as being odd or also get worried? It will strike people as being odd. It will also strike as being cautious in that I can make the spellers specific. I think they'll only need to trigger when a specific event happens. It's not going to be rolling along the road saying crude mud iron from the north. That's what you're worried about. To get this straight, you're going to program the cart so that when a certain line is spoken, it responds at a certain command. So I can program through magic mouth that, for instance, if someone asks us what cargo are you carrying, the cart will and will respond with an automated response of crude mud iron from the north.
01:23:12
Speaker
okay
01:23:14
Speaker
okay it just It's just just a way of removing the margin of error. but so what is this spot What is the command the cart needs to hear? that order That's what I'm asking. That's what I'm asking. This is a good idea. um not Just about removing margin of error, that's all. I'm just thinking I've learned my lesson. I'm going to fuck it up again. I'll write it on my hand, see? And he puts up his hand and he's written crude mud iron from the north. Yeah, but you sweat a lot. I mean, no no disrespect. I've noticed that when people talk to you, you sweat a lot. That's a very good point, actually. Listen, I won't forget it now. I've got it. I've got it up here. And he like viciously points. Hopefully we all won't forget or work together.
01:23:54
Speaker
Yeah, you know, one of you can c say, I like the idea, but it's a bit, it's a... um It's not going to cost me anything. Give me 10 minutes and it's done for free. It's just a fail safe. But if lots of people are asking us, you know, if we get to the city, what's in Chicago, what you're bringing to the city? And the car suddenly goes, crude mud iron from North. Well, no, i can be I can be as specific as I like. I can be when we think it's the right person that that that we get them to ask it. How do you know if you're the right person? I imagine the right person's not going to have a sign saying, I'm a secret person. No, no, but we we can, it's not about them. It's about us. It might be, for instance, that we choose that to answer that question. We ask that person to come over to the back of the car. and I'm just trying to stop us from doing anything silly. That's all. I think just a ah lot tap on my wrist.
01:24:43
Speaker
I won't do it again, ma'am. And I'll, you know, don't you worry. It's a love, it's a great idea. Anything that makes the cart cooler, I am all for it. But I think that might make us stand out a little bit. And from what I think we have learned over the last couple of weeks, we kind of want to keep a light profile. And what time you guess the rhs appreciated while is positing this to the group, about but what are you up to? So Baal's mouth has kind of been dripping like bits of heat. He'd already kind of prepped the spell and he's just kind of there like...
01:25:17
Speaker
I don't have to do it anyway. i mean I'm going to give you five points of of healing, Alpha. I've got um about my feet. I can do it for free as well. It was a balls. I roll the one. Um, but, and after he kind of ah passes that onto as that kind of stinging, burning sensation moves into soothing, it'll just say, um and, and Raines, why don't you just, I don't know, put it on like a rock in your pocket and say, what was the magic password again? Why do we need a fucking cart? Oh, it's a foil. I can make it go on specific circumstances, but I can't be wearing it, or no one else can be wearing it or carrying it. It has to be something that's not being carried or worn. I don't know. i' i'm I'm learning. don't Okay, not every spell that I'm learning throughout the history is going to be useful, but hey, I did kill a fucking demon yesterday. Let's let's let's lay off the the the usefulness of my spells. I think it's very useful. You saints!
01:26:09
Speaker
What? What? Sains! Terrible. Sains. Terrible name for their ship, Nick, so I don't like you. I completely forgot Nick's just thinking about that. I'm not going to lie. Can that magic mouth do anything else, Raines? Right. A clip-clop. I've got that bombshell. And that's where we're going to end this week's episode next.
01:26:36
Speaker
So, a clip-clop has been called. There's a consensus clipylop clock clip a I think clip-clop. Anyone need to not to acquiesce with the clip-clop command? Okay. I know that's become a thing. I'm sorry. Then you journey on. You get back on the road. No, we clip-clop on. You clip-clop on. You get back on the road. I'm guessing in this the same order of of seating that the bow is mounted. I cast Magic Mouth on the cart to say I am older every time someone gets in and out of it. No, I don't. In that exchange, it was inconclusive what you're doing about the Magic Mouth spell, Rain. So when you know what you want to do, make sure you let me know.
01:27:17
Speaker
I think, I think... It's okay, have a think. well um You're progressing en route, barrel mounted atop trunks, Seth in the driving position. Next to Seth is this Nix again, or is anyone else wanting to sit next to Seth for this period? Nix is claiming that. In the cart itself is Alpha Reign's Emron, tethered to that wagon is the prisoner cart itself, where you see this Now that the time on the road and the various combats they're in has really rendered the internal sort of linen cover of Dribbo's prison cage really quite beat up and it's it's really quite apparent that while you're traveling you are traveling with a prisoner in the back. It still obscures him a little bit from the sun but that car is looking haggard.
01:28:06
Speaker
And while we're traveling at this pace and just starting off, before we pull out of camp, Emron, you have something to say. So, everyone's going to be sat not in the middle of the cards. He's going to sort of be sat at the back with his legs hanging over the rear. So, he's sort of looking at behind them. Staring directly at Dribbough. Well, but also taking in their surroundings. He's trying to make sure that we don't get snuck up upon. Like, you know, if everyone inside the cards is not walking. What I want you to do, Will, is I want you to put a piece of A4 paper about a meter, about...
01:28:39
Speaker
10 centimeters away from your face. That's how much of the prison car is obscuring that view. Okay. i was it is yeah i I wasn't sure how close, how long the actual... Close tethered lines. You're only really able to sort of see... If you're just sat off the back with your feet dangling over the connections between the two the two vehicles, your view is massively obscured. About 80% of your visible view is just dribbo. It's probably looking left and right as well, but also looking at dribbo. Just so you know, you can't really see from there. That's fine. Thank you. You're behind. Yeah. Okay. So...
01:29:15
Speaker
as you pull out of that camp and it takes two or three moments ah two or three minutes of of ah travel before you spy a much bigger camp where all of the sleep guardian nobles you encountered last night are just sort of waking and staring for the morning. um Looks like their revelry continued into the night and there is just very forlorn looking flood leaning against the side of his horse, smoking a pipe that just waves to your cart as it passes. Hey, Flood! He just sort of tip tips his head towards you. Ahoy! Flood! You get no vocal response, but he does nod. I don't think he likes us so much. You shut your mouth, of course he likes us.
01:30:12
Speaker
You press on, you make good pace, and you're beginning you pass maybe about three, four dozen other um campsites and people that have hitched up overnight. And you travel at great speed, as Trunks is capable of for most of the morning.

Travel and New Allies

01:30:31
Speaker
In about an hour of journeying here, you're continuing to sort of be northward, ba battle if you're looking at your cane, you're sort of north-easterly now. And Seth, within about that first hour of travel, the terrain beneath you, the the the sandiness of it is dissipating, and you are into to a savannah-like ah terrain for that hour, and then it's moving into quite rich grassland. And after about two hours, what was once yellow and brown is now green and and a cacophony of colors as your sort of deceived crops grow. You're seeing um
01:31:11
Speaker
agriculture exists, you you're you're you're ah past that point where you are out of the heat of the desert, not the heat but the dryness of the desert.
01:31:23
Speaker
What you do spy Seth, well Balfour, but Seth because of the fact you are at the helm It's a series of series of posts every mile that are advertising something called the day away, the day away, the day away. And as you sort of press on, there are more and more adverts for the day away in. It's becoming clear it's an advertisement for an in. You get to about midday and you are in luscious grassland. the The roads are thriving. You are passing farms now. There is there is outer urban life here.
01:32:00
Speaker
about a mile up the road, you sort of spy a narrowing of this road now. So it was quite broad for a lot of the day, but it's beginning to narrow. And as you approach that, at the point where it begins to narrow, there is this um ah sort of linen tent-like structure, a very small tent which has this bunting-like rope line in about a 10-foot radius around it. The whole footprint of itself is about 30 feet. But lots of these signs sort of convalesce. And as you approach, there is one single guard
01:32:44
Speaker
not a chrisca, not wearing any orange of the the sort of Vossen Confederation, not an orc with the the the um sort of hypnotized blue eyes that are associated with Fizzlebang's rule, just one single independent guard, and a massive 60-foot sign that just says, the day away in, and then an arrow pointing towards the tent. You're moving at that speed, so unless you decide that you want to sort of call in, you'll pass this in a matter of moments. And as you get closer, you see there are so many vehicle um vehicles,
01:33:22
Speaker
um lives not livestock, what is the word for? for Animals that pull. Horses. Horses, donkeys, etc. No, but they have a collective drought. Draft animals. Yeah, yeah. but work put Work animals. yeah draft Draft animals. They're all hitched up. the the It looks like maybe about 30, 40 people should be somewhere. There is a number of slaves that are chained up as well at these posts. Do you want to call in? Do you want to stop? Do you wish to continue along the road? The road sort of continues to veer past.
01:33:56
Speaker
ah Seth got told off last time he went off planned, so he's just going to keep clip cropping unless he hears otherwise from the group. Okay. No, Reigns prefers inconspicuous to speculus. At this point, we've drawn far too much attention to ourselves, so yeah, no interest from Reigns. Okay. Anyone who would be paying close attention to this, which I imagine is everyone, one of the signs just says 10 miles to draw, to score a challenge.
01:34:29
Speaker
You press on. After about an hour past this midday sun, you were in rich fertile ground. There is a sense of rural community now beginning to grow. You spy on the road ahead of you, three gnomes on horseback and a human waiting at the side of the road.
01:34:56
Speaker
Is there anything you'd like to do?
01:35:01
Speaker
can surf has no mind for anything until unless he gets told otherwise he's learning his lesson. Okay. As you begin to pass these four mounted riders at great speed, they notice you aren't slowing down and they begin to match your speed in the direction of your travel. One, rides behind dribbo's cart. One rides to the right of you, Seth, about 10 feet on the road to your left. Nix, about 10 feet on the road to your left. Sorry, Seth, 10 feet on the road to your right, 10 feet on the road to your left. Moving in perfect parallel. And Baal, one is just sort of completing that diamond and riding about 15 feet in front of you in trunks. You are surrounded.
01:35:55
Speaker
The human is your side, Nyx. The other three are gnomes, all deep gnomes. They have that rich grey skin. Nyx shouts Ahoy there, and the human re replies.
01:36:12
Speaker
What's in there? And points. Various cargo supplies. There's a big old tournament that we hope to sell our wares at. Ah, in the cargo. What's in there? More of the same. so There's that other thing next. Next, the other thing.
01:36:38
Speaker
They begin to peel off from the road. That's the crude mud iron. Seth's just going to shout out. From where? From the north. From the north. fucking hell it's not my phrase i swear to god next time i'm cast this fucking card is talking the next time i fucking someone tells me that we'll remember that fucking human i've already remembered the human let out a sharp whistle And you watch as the formation sort of changes. And, uh, Baal, the gnome that was riding in front of you drops to the position that was next to Nyx. Nyx, the one that was the human that was talking to you, does the same and moves to the rear of your convoy. Uh, the one that was behind.
01:37:24
Speaker
Dribbo now moves adjacent to you Seth, and they did it one more time so that Seth the human is now 10 feet to you. And he just leans in and says, don't you mean blood iron? Oh, thank fuck. Pull over. Any sort of gestures in the distance towards a flat area of grassland. Thank God. I don't even know what blood iron is. And Seth will like crease and he'll turn to everyone and just kind of say, it's them. It's them. We're good. We're good. And give like a thumbs up because of the noise of the rattle of the car and everything else like that. So you begin to bring it to a slow.
01:38:06
Speaker
What happens? Do you come to complete stop just by the side of the road? Like you're being pulled over by the police? ah Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the four cluster again and dismount and immediately the three gnomes sort of surround the rear of the cart and the human just sort of stands about 10 feet back looking inside. Do any of you dismount? Do you stay where you are? What do you do? No, no, no, you go.
01:38:40
Speaker
Everyone's going to sort of, because I assume I'm quite close to the gnomes doing their thing now. You'll be the closest, but they're the other side of the prison car. Are they not? I thought, yeah, okay. No, so you' you're in between the two, they're at the rear. Yeah. ah Everyone's going to get down and then sort of go to the left, just so we can sort of see them and see what they're doing.
01:39:01
Speaker
And the two of them don't seem to do an awful lot. One of them is stood, arms folded, staring directly at Tribbo inside. The other This one, a female gnome is just sort of looking at the cart, inspecting where the rips and tears are. Occasionally you see her put a hand against the cart, then recoil. She does a lap around it. The fourth one just sort of begins to burrow and dig underneath and climb underneath the cart and is doing some sort of um mechanical work underneath.
01:39:37
Speaker
The human is just sort of standing back and just reaches out and says to you, I want to go. I wouldn't disturb them. Oh, i I was just curious. We were warned about not interfering with the cat. So I'm just curious about what they're doing. Don't worry. We're professionals. So are we. Hmm. We'll see. OK. Oh, hi, hi. Dix at your service as Dix. That is not your name. There's no way that's your name. I'm very, very famous around these parts. It's your own problem if you haven't heard of me. ah What, just out of interest, are your plans with the cargo? I'm told you weren't going to ask questions. You and don't...
01:40:31
Speaker
have met me. So we're all very professional apart from Dick's here. Sorry. He likes to let his mouth run away. Well, um it's just like, you know, we've been travelling. We've got stories to tell about how we managed to get hit with everyone intact, including the cargo. And I am making sure that the cargo will continue to be safe. Trust me, he'll be fine.
01:41:02
Speaker
Can you tell your friends to just get off for a moment? I mean, they don't listen to me. em Everyone, that's on you. I think ah they want us to get off the car for a moment, lads. All right, yep. We'll just hitch up trunks. Do you want us to take our elephant off the front of the car, or can we stay attached? No need. No need. Oh, OK. I'm going to use my ah telekinesis, Kyle. My awake of mind to telepathically speak to Dribbo and he'll hear in his head, you cool with this? And he just gives you two huge thumbs up and nods very enthusiastically from within. And then he'll hear and said, well, it's been a pleasure.
01:41:55
Speaker
And I wish you all the luck. And he bows very flamboyantly.
01:42:03
Speaker
and And that's it. That's it. Nix is happy. And as these, sorry, Raines. As Raines gets off, he'll just see the bat and the bow and not knowing what's going on. He'll just, yeah, same to you. Do it back. And then he'll jump off. So as these two gnomes, the female gnome that's sort of really and closely inspecting and the the male gnome that's sort of gone underneath, ah really carrying out some rigorous inspections, this third gnome that's very stern-faced and and concentrated directly eye contact on Dribbo marks none of you as you step off at all. And the human just sort of gestures for you all to approach him. So it sticks, is it? Yep, indeed.

Pleased to meet you. I'm the largest character of all the land. And who were they? Pointing at the rest of the group. Well, we have Osiris and, uh, their crew. Osiris? Which one's Osiris? That one. This mix just points to the group. You mean Seth? Yeah, Nick's, he, they're not who we all are. They're not the people we lied to. but no I get very confused over who should know I'm Dix and who should know I'm Nix. Who the fuck is Dix and who the fuck is Osiris? Well he just called me Nix. Oh. What's going on? I don't know. Well now I know this one's called Nix. I thought your name was Dix. I just know Seth. They're good people.

I have no earthly idea. I was unconscious when I think they were deciding it. He was Kennard. Oh, Kennard, the Baron asked me. Kennard or Barry. Prince Barry Kennard, Prince boy. yeah we We dropped the Prince because we decided that you going around preaching that you're a Prince doesn't really go with our score and incognito. It defeats the objective. Hold on, you called yourself Kennard. Exactly, that's quite a famous name, but still walking around with men. It is a famous name. It's very famous name. It's my name. Oh hell. You're Kenard. Kenard of Blackmouth. Oh shit. And he puts a hand out to shake yours. Arrange to shake it. You're around. That's where we're going to end. This week at the table top, Bellum Draconis. Kenard!
