Hello and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set in the magical world of Aerith. My name is Mark and I'm the Dungeon Master and I just ate a lamb biryani with a bishwari naan. And also with us for today's episode we have Ian who plays the Dragonborn Barbarian Drago.
00:00:48
Speaker
Drago! Drago! Drago! Drago! Drago! Drago! What up guys? You alright? I'm good man. I've just eaten a chicken bahuana with a garlic naan. And some chips. And some chips as well. Glorious. Hashtag Everest Express guys because that's an amazing takeaway. If

they sponsor us, that would be amazing. Also though, what did you eat it out of?
00:01:11
Speaker
A trough? Yeah, you mean a trough, you mean a trough. Not a trough. A trough. Let's not have this again, guys. Oh, good God. Is it really trough? P-H trough? Yes, it is. No trough. T-R-O-T-G-H. T-G-H. No trough. Are you saying this? I doth trough.
00:01:28
Speaker
Oh my god, we've just broken each other. You know that thing you worked on? No, what's worse is that I have an English literature degree. That's the worst thing. Never know the things

Speaker
that I work on. Who else is at this table? We've got Darren who plays the human fighter rogue Robin. We're about some shenanigans Batman! We've got Danny who plays the human cleric Claude. Hey!
00:01:53
Speaker
My mouth is still on fire. Well, what did you have? I had a vegetable dance sack from Everest. Shit, man. Yeah, I just said they upped the spice, chilli thing in the menu from one chilli to two chillis. Damn. I only just realised... Your cheeks are showing the second chilli. It was a solid 15 minutes ago, we ate that. Claude's going to spend some time drinking milk, I feel. He's going to do his own version of Fireball.
00:02:18
Speaker
We've also got Will who plays the wood elf-monk elfia. Stalutations listeners. Stalutations. Salutations. He did say salutations. I heard Stal. I heard Stal. I'm with you Will. I'm with the DM. Stalutations. We've also got Callum who plays, I've written here, plays plays. He plays plays. He plays plays. He does indeed.
00:02:41
Speaker
What is this? How much alcohol have you people had? We haven't recorded in a while, you can tell. We've got Calibri place, the name sorcerer, Folly Fizzlebang the Ninth. Hello, hello. How long did that take us? We're four minutes in. To do a quick introduction. No, no, you say quick introduction. You've never been quick. I think it sits to form, actually, that we take our time with this, actually. Just like in other things in our lives.
00:03:09
Speaker
Like, don't answer that. So, thank you so much for joining us for today. I'm a wham
Recap and Quest Introduction
00:03:14
Speaker
-bam, thank you man, kind of guy. We know, apparently, it's the team song as well, I remember. Anyway, moving swiftly on, we, for today's episode, thank you everyone for coming and sitting around the table with us as well.
00:03:28
Speaker
Right, so today's episode we're going to pick up, obviously, where we left off. The last thing that we really encountered as a group was, firstly, that Elphir chose to, after being at the hammer and breast plate, which I keep getting wrong, the hammer and breast plate.
00:03:43
Speaker
Elphard decided to walk off and leave the group. The rest of the group, however, moved towards Kelsan's cartographic wonders, a shop which suggests by its title that they sell a number of maps with it. Finally, after coming across this shop, you met this strange, awkward man which seems to call himself Kelsan. He was rude, he was obnoxious, but he had some useful information which he gave to you, which might be of use. He spoke to you about this thing called the Onyx Reaver.
00:04:12
Speaker
and he said he knew of its whereabouts and also how to close the rift. He was quite brash and brazen with what he said. He said, you need the Onyx Reaver and you need a holy text. And after doing this, he also offered the party the opportunity to win or earn a map from him. He said he had one of only four maps that a guy called Outwick, he referenced, Outwick Lecraine,
00:04:38
Speaker
Made for him. It's an early edition, but he said it's the entire map of all the realm of Eryth and and he wanted you to go and Beat up a chap he knew who his reasons were rather tepid telling him to stop swearing and get the Anki pay his taxes, etc
00:04:53
Speaker
and he wanted you to go around and in his words shit him up a bit in order for Kelsan to make a point. We left
Kelsan's Proposal and Group Reactions
00:05:01
Speaker
off with the party slowly making their way out of the shop with Kelsan stood in front of them. He turns to you, his waistcoat open and with a bit of swagger looks to the party and says, when do you want to do this then?
00:05:18
Speaker
I'm happy whenever, really, but it's up to you fuckers, really. Like, we could do it now, we could do it later, but I really kinda want to be there, if you know what I mean. You wanna reap the benefits of this shit up? See his fucking face when all you bastards run out of him and bap, bap, bap, bap. I don't want to bap, bap, bap for an innocent person. He's not innocent. He's not innocent, alright? He's a dick.
00:05:44
Speaker
What did he do to you to warrant this? He comes around here telling me like, oh, put in your world, be useful. And I'm like, fuck you, man. Don't tell me what to do. I'm my own fucking person, you know? So he just needs to back off. So instead of dealing with it yourself, your high
00:06:04
Speaker
It's literally what I'm doing, it's literally what I'm paying you to go shit him up and I will give you something worth thousands of dollars. So he's a rival of yours, that's what we're saying. There must be some reason. Are you threatened by him? And he starts doing a weird kind of move. Threatened is a strong word, he's a dick, but he's
00:06:23
Speaker
No, I can take him, I reckon. I can take him. He's not that big, really. The big thing you've got to understand about this place is we're split. We've got these two camps of people here in Evershire, really. You've got two groups of people here. You've got the Cold Rats, who live out of Moonrock, and you've got the Fold.
00:06:40
Speaker
We were in the fog garden. If you're gonna make notes, can I get my new writing implement out for you? To be silent writing for you, I've got a new writing implement just for you. He's talking about the fucking pencil. Let me get my pencil out for you. Actually, you went and did it.
00:06:59
Speaker
Carry on. Just so you know, Will has pulled out a novelty-sized pencil because we, in the last couple of episodes, made fun of Will for his loud writing during really intense moments. So he's bought an absolutely monolithic pencil, which I think... This is my silent pencil. It's rather phallic. I hope you write it there. Overcompensating.
00:07:18
Speaker
Is it actually a pencil pen? Oh my god, it's a genuine pencil. Where'd you get it from? Amazon. Amazing. You can literally buy anything. All your goods. You can go to Amazon. That is a hefty pencil. You could knock out. Do you want to hold my pencil? You could knock someone. You can fucking have it. Can you shut it? That's a rubber as well.
00:07:35
Speaker
Yeah, this is like a, literally a giant... Is it actual, whole, bit of wood? Woah! Woah, it's quite substantial, isn't it? This is a girthy pencil that I'd say is probably about 9, 10 inches in length. Smells pretty nice as well. Smells like a rabbit's heart, actually. Looks like an HB pencil, as you would imagine it. Can I, can, can you stop fondling my wooden? Can I have it like that? I think Darren wants to hold it first, that Darren feel.
00:07:55
Speaker
Are you happy there? Sorry, that was a good moment for the segue. This is your moment of fame. You're not even fucking in this scene. You've pissed off. Will is now pulling a smug face as he starts to write with his pencil. Can I ask cold or cold? Cold. C-O-L-D. As in like, they are not very warm. And the other party? The Fold. F-O-L-D.
00:08:19
Speaker
Might I ask which one you are? I am a healthy bystander in this situation. It might seem to have some monetary value in one or the other, or both failing miserably.
Tactics and Moral Implications
00:08:28
Speaker
Who's to really say? But the thing is, right, this chap, he... What's the best way of putting it?
00:08:38
Speaker
He's one of the cold rats, I'll just say that, all right? I'll take you to his shop. His name's Eridor. Maybe he just needs a coat. Well, what? Well, he's cold. No, he's part of a group called the Cold Rats. He himself is rather- Do they all need coats?
00:08:55
Speaker
Sure, let's say they all need coats and it looks to the rest of the group kind of ignoring. Why don't we just buy them all coats? Anyway, what I'm getting at is that I don't have a say in this battle particularly but I do know that me and Eridor haven't really seen eye to eye for the last couple of years and
00:09:13
Speaker
To be honest, him shutting the fuck up would be a benefit to me and my shop, and just, you know, I'm finding it difficult to sell shit with all this crap going on around the place with these two factions fighting, and it's getting worse and worse and worse, and just think, fuck off, get me the door, eat the muscle, that's it, he's gone. Are you taking this map with you so that we can...
00:09:35
Speaker
Get it after we've paid your dues. No, no, I'll do it in my shop. I don't trust you. I'll get you to do something, but I don't trust you. Okay. Do internal conflicts often affect the cartography trade, or is there another reason why you're wanting this to be taken care of? Well, let's just say I'm weighing up whether or not you're actually serious about going for the blights. Just
City Exploration and Magical Encounters
00:10:01
Speaker
put it out there.
00:10:03
Speaker
Look, I'll take the bait. Just lead us to this Eredor chap. Okay, follow me then. I'm not happy. Are you coming with us? I don't want you to hurt him, man, if he didn't do anything wrong. So are you coming with us? Yeah, but I'm going to help him if things go bad. That's okay, you can be the conscience of the group. That's fine. What about you, Folly? No, I don't agree with this at all. I'm going to stay behind.
00:10:30
Speaker
I think you're okay with that, Kelsey. The little one is incoming. Oh, come on, look at me. Do you really think I would be much help in a fight compared to this one, any points to Drago? Yes, I believe you have the arcane abilities within you. And what makes you think that? You do have some very persuasive potions. No, he doesn't. I don't know what you're talking about. Can you roll deception, please? I was going to say, Robin, what are you doing? Stop screwing me over, you dick. I say that as an aside to Robin.
00:11:01
Speaker
Nah, ha ha, you're having me on. I've seen those staffs before, mister. Come on, you haven't got to use any of your magical, you know, little spells, those difficult ones, the high level stuff, because I can see you trained here, but just your presence alone, if you can, you must have one of those altar self, or like illusion or something. Just to shit him up, not actually her. Finally this could go on for a while, I would just come with us. Well, can I just ask, because you've already advised the map that you're
00:11:27
Speaker
going to reward us with actually in your shop somewhere so what's to stop me with my magic basically paralyzing you and taking it good idea it's a very big shop you're paralyzed and we have all the time in the world we don't have all the time in the world there's a blight
00:11:46
Speaker
And I am a well-known member of society and if you leave me out here paralyzed people will probably go to Kelsan's car traffic wonders wondering what the fuck has happened to Kelsan and why he was frozen and then they will come across a small-known figure rummaging through my shop and probably kill you or attempt to at least but I know you're much savvier than that my man I know you'll you'll play my game aye aye and he goes down to poke uh Folly and Folly is going to whack his finger away with his quarter staff we have to second thought fuck it hell
Confrontation with Eridor
00:12:13
Speaker
are now probably in the process of drawing quite a bit of attention to ourselves with this. We're doing this in the shop, aren't we? Or can we do this? I thought we were out on the street. Just outside the street, on the street, yeah. Might be time to start moving on. Yeah, let's go and find the zero door. Follie, you may as well join us. I don't think he will leave you in this, Jon. He's done rubbing his finger a little bit. Ooh, that fucking stung a little bit, mate. Where is our other companion? Althea. Aren't you a weirdy video?
00:12:39
Speaker
The elf. In this instance, I'm not elf here. No, you've got your sword. Shield. You've got your sword. We've got the package that was like... You are no longer pretending to be the elf here. No. I can be whoever you want me to be. Now, is this some kind of sex thing? Because if it is, I'm totally game. Listen, Kelsoon. I haven't got a lot of patience. And you want me to go and intimidate a guy? I'd do it sooner rather than later.
00:13:03
Speaker
He looks at you, clicks his fingers, let's go. And he starts taking you down some streets away from the area of every shot that you have been to before. Claude, you're kind of aware of roughly this area, but again, it's not the kind of place you're going to spend much time in. What he does is take you out of his shop in south, towards the central area where you saw the large statue.
00:13:21
Speaker
of the King of Sleepguard there, which is now Masses Squeaky King. You do see a single man stood outside, near it, kind of inspecting it, as kind of looking in awe that it's been cleaned. And he, Kelsohn starts to take you east towards the area, which he explains, we're going into the fog garden, but don't worry, we're not going anywhere near any of that shit that's happening with the cold rats in the fold, okay? We'll try and stay clear, except obviously for Erebor, who we are going to fuck up.
00:13:49
Speaker
I would have spent the whole time there trying to spot Elfs
Zone of Truth Revelations
00:13:52
Speaker
here, like, frantically looking over each other, trying to see if he's around, trying to, uh, yeah, just trying to see if I could find him. Okay, do you want to give me a perception check?
00:14:05
Speaker
It's 19. Okay. As you take your way down towards the central courtyard area, you start looking around, you look up, you look down, you look at the floor, you look at all the little alleyways that seem to come off. This place does seem to sprawl out. Aside from a few larger buildings, they seem to be very small, compact buildings with thin alleyways, kind of one person, two person in width for you to be able to walk down.
00:14:30
Speaker
You start looking down many of these alleyways to try and make heads or tails of whether he's there or not. You pass an alleyway that's filled full of what looks like fruit refuse and old barrels. You see another one with a broken cart and a man sitting there slowly smoking, staring up at you. You go down another alley and it's just nothing bereft going on and on for a distance. But everywhere you look, you see no real sign of Elthe. You look for kind of this elven prince in the mud and on those cobbles, again... A stench. A stench. Nothing seems to really be picked up at this moment, okay? Kelseye continues to walk out in front.
00:15:00
Speaker
and takes you through these labyrinthine sprawling alleyways of the fog garden district which is the largest district of this city as well as Kelso explains you move one corridor down to another you start to notice as you get deeper in the light starts to become dimmer and dimmer and you notice
00:15:21
Speaker
arms crossed watching you as you walk past and you notice on their shoulder pads with your donden leather a distinct icon which seems to be decalled onto it of that of a rat which seems to be a light blue colour. Kelsang walks past them but you can see him tense up slightly as he walks past before continuing to walk. You get a sense that he is not scared per se but is aware
00:15:43
Speaker
of this conflict and you should have to get a sense that he's not bullshitting you on that conflict. It seems to be something, or at least with these cold rats, seems to be something that you start to believe. Has there been signs of fat Sigil at all? Like, or has it been Town Guard? What has been like the Militia presence? Up until now, the majority of the Militia presence has been based around the Hailstorm Surge armour and Sigil as well. So you haven't seen much of this at all. Claude, you would have heard of the fold.
00:16:15
Speaker
but again, almost as little gangs. It's been a few years since I've been back and small gangs and groups of, you know, teenagers who have you really made out. The idea now that there are fully formed force within the city seems absurd almost because they were kids and, you know, no one's really up until this point, okay? As you continue to make your way through these alleyways, you finally come to an opening
Observations and Strategic Planning
00:16:43
Speaker
where you see a large building that stands on its own. Kelstar looks up at it for a second and goes, right, we need to get around this, and starts walking around this building. What you notice about this building is a large building with, sorry, nine blocks, one, two, three up, three stories high, and it seems to be split into cubes, and it literally looks like a massive, massive Rubik's Cube, just to give you an idea of it.
00:17:12
Speaker
These cubes seem to be lined with metal but the walls are more so they're covered with white paste to make it blend in with the others around it. You can see a sign in front of it that seems to say ground and centre, general goods and much more.
00:17:25
Speaker
And suddenly, as you're stepping past it and Kelsey's kind of walking you round it, just before the entrance goes out of your sight, you feel a rumble in the ground and the whole ground starts to shake and shudder. And you notice these blocks, these cubes of the building start to move and shift position. It's one lowest, one replaces, one lifts at the front and the building starts to revolve around. The entrance still stays still. And as it all falls into position,
00:17:53
Speaker
and the dust starts to settle, the noise of the city starts to return. Councilor takes a moment and just looks at this impressive structure and mechanics that seems to control the engineering end of this building and just kind of nods his head for a second and looks back at you. Pretty impressive, eh?
00:18:10
Speaker
Yeah, very impressive. Jago's going to turn to Robin and drop back as I assume the group's walking on. Yep. And just kind of like give a little shoulder knock to you, Robin, as a hint to go, hey, do you want to go back to the back of the group and have a walk? Robin, I don't know what to expect with this. I'm not sure how I feel about intimidating someone I don't know ironically coming from me.
00:18:36
Speaker
But I do want this map, so if you find out that it's not going as expected, maybe drop back and go into a shop and try and find the map. I agree, that sounds like a wonderful idea. Just see how things play out right now, but I don't know, use your keen senses. I have my ways. Foley, you know, perched my elbow on Foley's head, studying this piece of architecture.
00:19:02
Speaker
How does it do that? How does it move? It's a building. It's magic, Claude. Right. But does it do it to itself, or is someone there doing it to the building? It does it to itself. The building's alive. Whoa. I know. Impressive. It's alive. It's alive. I'm not going in there.
Motives and Ethics Discussion
00:19:31
Speaker
Could you roll a deception, please? Folly, what did you roll? 12. 12? Okay, cool. And Claude, what was your insight against that? I rolled a 20, but I really want to believe him. Your sense of the truth, internally you know Folly wants to be right.
00:19:56
Speaker
Okay, there is no malice behind what he is intending on saying. It is his genuine scientific thought that that must be, given his knowledge, what is occurring within the building. You seem to have the sense that, also since walking through the streets, that folly is...
00:20:14
Speaker
aware of the city and seems to know specific facts about the city but from your perception or insight of him, his character seems to, you seem to gather the idea that he maybe hasn't actually been into the city much particularly. Okay. And have you seen many magical buildings in your time, Folly? No, no, not many. They are quite a bit of a sudden scene. And what will happen inside a magic building, Folly?
00:20:45
Speaker
That's what worries me, Folly. Why? What do you think can happen? Secrets, Folly. We all have our secrets clocked. I don't have many left. I've zoned a truth to myself. May I ask, what is this building, and are we going inside it? This building, we're not going inside it, but it's called the Ground and Sensor. It's a general good saw. Oh, saw? I mean, store. Apologies. Set up by a chap. I've forgotten his name now.
00:21:16
Speaker
Anyway, he runs the place, it's a nice little store. Clever fact about it though, all the blocks you see, storage rooms. The shop is actually only that middle bit there, a tiny little shop. What he does is pulls these levers back and forth and he moves the blocks and pulls in the right storage block behind him.
00:21:34
Speaker
which has different things in it. He's got his armoury one, he's got his jewellery one, he's got his magic one. He's got literally anything you want in there. But to answer your question, good man, no. We are not going in there because that shop rocks. No. Yeah, it rocks. How far are we from this air door? Good question, Dragon Man. We are not very far at all. I think, roughly, if I had to put a time limit on it, maybe we can hurry up. Yeah, because I can't really work out how long I've
Magic Use and Group Marking
00:22:02
Speaker
been. OK. This way, follow me.
00:22:04
Speaker
It's also worth pointing out at this stage, there's a lot of people with rat tattoos who don't seem that fond of you. I couldn't help but notice that. Oh, it's not just me. It's pretty much anyone, really. They're not very welcoming, let's say, of outsiders, particularly. They're not very fond of us either. Probably not, no. But it's OK. You're with me. You're safe. You're safe. You're fine with me. What sort of looks would be happening with me wearing a Hillstorm Surge Tabark? If anything, you simmer the looks.
00:22:32
Speaker
they kind of calm slightly, almost like, as a hailstorm search member is with them, almost like it's like having a police officer with them. There's no point really, so it's kind of like a tension followed by, oh no, no point. Upon hearing that, Folly is just going to mumble a little bit to himself, and he's gonna cast Prestiditiation, and I can cast it up to three of its...
00:22:59
Speaker
effects. I can make a colour of a small mark or a symbol appear on an object or a surface for an hour. I'm actually going to make the light blue rat appear on the inside of my jacket and I'm going to put it on Robin and Drago as well just without their knowledge at this moment in time. Okay, lovely. So what kind of thing, it describes us what kind of, how press digital chess works for Folly Fizzibang.
00:23:23
Speaker
Basically it's a very minor magical trick it just has to mumble to himself and as he's looking at the inside of the jacket it kind of fades in little bits and pieces and then it's almost like an imprint that kind of goes on the inside of his jacket and I can just make it appear wherever I want so for Robin if I see anything that's basically generally hidden like edgy under a hood or anything like that
00:23:53
Speaker
on the back of his shoulder. I'm going to make it appear on Drago's back of his hand just for now. Okay and for that Drago can you roll a perception I'd say, to see if you notice this tattoo or this marking appear on you. 19. 19. As this conversation is taking place in Kelsohn it's describing to you the assorted building of
00:24:16
Speaker
ground and centre, you feel a slight warmth on your left claw and as you look down to it you notice all of a sudden this imprint very similar to that of a cold rat that you've seen on some of the people previously and you notice it's just appeared on your hand. I would be looking at Drago as I actually cast the spell towards him so I would notice that and literally I would just try to get his attention a little bit and just kind of
00:24:44
Speaker
Tuck my nose and just tell him to be a bit quiet about it for now. Dragga,
City Journey and Narrative Enrichment
00:24:49
Speaker
what do you do to that? Dragga just nods his head in the direction, making a point in his brain to talk about this act of magic.
00:24:58
Speaker
Which wasn't... wasn't, erm, requested. Yes. Force magic. Okay, lovely. Kelsan lets you stand there for a minute or two, staring at the building, before going... Yep, I think... Yeah, I've remembered the way now. It's not far from here now. Follow me. And just as he starts to head off, you hear a voice from behind, which you recognise, and you hear the voice of Elthir, saying... Ah, there you all are. Who the fuck are you? How's that? It's Kelsan.
00:25:29
Speaker
Well, I don't know. Am I Drago or Elf here right now? And he just looks straight at Drago. Be whoever you want to be. He's never stopped you before. No. Are you joining us? Well, if you're not pretending to be me anymore, then I suppose I shall. I mean, we don't really care. Are you joining us? Yes, I am. But... This is our friend. And I used him to... Well, hang on. He used his friend rather... Loosely, well done. Well, I just know he's just lying. We're not really friends. Ooh.
00:25:59
Speaker
Wow, okay, so... Bit of a rivalry. This guy, he's called Elf there. He's part of the group. He will help out. I see. Actually, I don't understand. Well... You're an elf. Yeah. Good. Called Elf, yeah. That might... Yes, I see the similarity there, called... Yeah, it's an Elvis word, but... That might come in handy, actually.
00:26:24
Speaker
Hmm, actually, we might have a chat later anyway. Is this Kelsan? This is Kelsan. Enchante? Ah, perception check. Ithian Atomere. Uh, Robert? Uh, Mark, that's a one, but I've got a... Passive is 17.
00:26:44
Speaker
As he bows down, you notice off his back these two almost knuckle-like protrusions sticking out equally on each side. After noticing them, you move to kind of place him with a darker background behind him. As you move to the side to kind of place his figure with it, like you stick a step to the left away from the building to place him kind of in a dark alley so you can see his reaction. And you see this light orange glow around his body. You can discern from that that yes, he is indeed at least half Asimov.
00:27:13
Speaker
Okay, and that's that's fine. Ah Interesting what's interesting? Yeah, what's interesting? Yeah, what is? You are a creature related or descended from a celestial
00:27:30
Speaker
And he goes, I'm Chanté, and he dies again. I am indeed. This person has the blood of a god in him. Well, let's not go far to say a god. Let's just say it, so let's steal beer like an angel or something. Man, it's important to remember that blood is blood, and it can be spilled. Can we get on with this? If it is spilled, can I have some of your blood? What? You fucking...
00:27:50
Speaker
Yeah, all right, why not? Cool, thank you. See what you can do then, right? Actually, I wanted to give you some length to see. No, anyway, right, let's go then. We're going down this way. Uh, human man, can you, you have a bow? Don't you? Yeah, just, uh...
00:28:05
Speaker
Have it to hand, you know, maybe just have it down there so I'm ready, just, you know what, we'll probably not need it, but just in case, might be an idea, just, you know, I'll have my bow to hand, rest assured. Good to know. Good to know, right. He starts leaving you down a narrow pathway.
00:28:23
Speaker
down the back of these shops. It takes you down a dark, rubby area of the Fog Garden District. Kelsohn swaggers down the path and kind of kicks bits of rocks and explains obvious things to you. This is called a building, Drago. Ever a door? Let's go. Of course, yep. And he carries on walking down. Finally, he turns the corner and you see a small, squat building on the corner of what looks like an empty street. And
Eridor's Threats and Group Dilemmas
00:28:50
Speaker
in there. His name's Eridor. Like I said, one of the cold rats. Slap him up a bit. Show him who's boss. Tell him Kelsan says fuck you. Or, you know, maybe you could think of something cooler to say, I don't know. And then that's it, then we could just all leave, okay? I'll hang out here just to make sure the deed's done. I can listen, I've got good ears. And then we'll call them, we'll go back, give you the map sorted.
00:29:16
Speaker
Did you say it was a door? Yeah, no. Before you do what you're gonna do, is there not another way we can get this map? Yes! You could kill him. Another way? You could... No, that's about it. Really? I just... We're in the middle of a place where there's loads of his friends. Look at this man around here. Look, we're empty. Watch this. Call out to bastards!
00:29:43
Speaker
He pauses for a second and you hear the words echo down the streets for a second. Silence falls across the street. You whispered that a little bit. Perhaps Drago can shout it properly. He looks to Drago. Go on then. I've got a better idea. Take Kelsoon by the scruff of the neck and kick the door down. You're coming with us. Here we go. You should kick the door down. Can you give me a strength check please? Yes I can.
00:30:17
Speaker
You grab him by the waistcoat and scruff up his shirt and lift him clean off the ground. He makes a squeaky noise as you lift him, but he's lighter than a human should be. You do notice that very clearly. He lifts very easily off the ground. Should be heavier than that. But after quickly noticing that, your eyes turn to the dorm with one swift punch.
00:30:34
Speaker
the centre of the door. Not only does the door open but it seems to lurch off its hinges, move in a straight line and collapse down the ground as you step into this room. Inside the room you see a small dark space. You see two pillars holding up what seems to be an old building. At the far side of it you notice a fire burning bright. You see one human man who stands up, he's not wearing a shirt but he's got some trousers, he's got a bit of turkey or chicken or something so me and his hands he looks up over at you.
00:31:06
Speaker
How are you doing? Eredor. No. Where's Eredor? And he points over to the far side of the dark and you see this figure start to move and stand up and you just notice what looks like some kind of creature, not creature but kind of a humanoid in the corner. Now as this is happening I'm going to put the hand onto our fish's shoulder and I'm also going to gesture Talia over and I'm just going to shout after Kelton. What's up Ian?
00:31:40
Speaker
And I'm just going to shut off the coffin. Don't worry, the three of us will keep watch out here.
00:31:52
Speaker
I think these two suggest that they follow. I'm definitely going. I don't want anyone to get hurt. So Claude's going in behind Drago. I'm following Claude. So you're in as well. And Elphir, are you heeding his words? I'll say to Elphir, if this goes awry, we may need to go back to that shop and rob him. That doesn't seem very honest of us, though, does it? Well, I don't exactly think he's being particularly honest with us right now. Which is... And we need to stop them right as quick as possible.
00:32:19
Speaker
Wow yes that is a well at which point I'm going to take the ring around my finger which is effectively made of light kind of copper and I'm going to whisper into the to the ring and say Drago at any point if you think
00:32:39
Speaker
You can reply to this message and I'll cast message and that whisper just appears in your ear. You just say verbally What the fuck are you doing in my head? Not you we discussed the plan I have the means of executing this plan with us
00:32:59
Speaker
I know, I know, I'm full of surprises. You can probably hear this from the end of the world. It's like a walkie talkie routine. Kelso tells me you've got a clue and he's just like, what do you mean? No, I've never done that before. I'll lean in to Polly. Has he been drinking one of your potions again? If he has, I don't know about it. Who is he talking to? I've not got a clue.
Kelsan's Confession
00:33:20
Speaker
Interesting. Yeah, it's a new thing, Drago. I'm quite enjoying it. Anyway, on with the plan. I'm sure you'll be wonderful.
00:33:30
Speaker
Right. So Elfie is going to sort of turn to Robin and sort of frown a little bit. I'm sure that, because you stepped in at this point, haven't you? I'm sure that that, and Elfie sort of gestures at Robin in his hand and what he's just done. We'll need some more explanation later.
00:33:58
Speaker
Exclamation you shall get. As for now, all you need to know is that my reading of all those scrolls has paid off. Excellent. Excellent. Elphir walks into the shop. Inside the shop, we have Drago holding up Kelsun, still by the scruff of his neck, holding out to the side, with Folly and Claude flanking him, with Elphir following behind. Elphir's coming to the door.
00:34:22
Speaker
Robin and Tali are stood in the doorway, Tali is stood next to you, still not very happy with the whole situation but has been distinctly quiet during this adventure so far. You see this man pointing off to the side and as Drago your eyes turn to this figure in the corner in the darkness, you see it start to stand and you realise what you're looking at is the back of a humanoid. Eridor, as it turns out, is this monolithic ogre.
00:34:52
Speaker
He stands and turns with a dirty brown shirt covering his broad green shoulders. His two bottom teeth protrude from his mouth and curl up towards his eyes. I'm thinking really kind of World of Warcraft style here. There's a lot of drool down his face. He stands at your height. Eye to eye. In terms of being not running through each other. It's rippling muscles. You can see each scarred with previous injuries.
00:35:31
Speaker
I've told you about this, Kelsan. This needs to end. Stop bothering me. Look, look, you're the one fucking bothering me, yeah? It's all right, cold rats. Can you let me down, please? I can't, I can't. Yeah, I'll drop him down. With all your cold rats stuff, fucking at my shop, getting in the way, being a dick, why don't you just
00:36:01
Speaker
I don't know. We are simple people living here out of Evershire. I have, yes, gathered some friends to back me up in situations, but I don't know why this Asima has anything to say about it. Asoa? He is of the Asima, of the celestial form and effect.
Critical Revelations and Alliance Shifts
00:36:29
Speaker
because he does not follow the way of the people of Edershire, his difficulty stands out. And to be honest, more than anything else, it's my brother, Morngroth, and on that Kelsohn kind of, oh! I mean, squirms a little bit.
00:36:47
Speaker
Didn't Alf there from the doorway, cos Tyler and Robin are outside? I mean, we stand out. Are you gonna have a problem with us? No, because you didn't get my brother put in jail for a heist he never committed. Yeah, but in my defence he was kind of there. He was working at the bank. Er, I see what you mean there. But listen, I think we could just calm it down a bit. Listen, do you wanna go and just slap him and I'll give you the fucking map? I'm not gonna slap him.
00:37:20
Speaker
I mean, we are having a case of his word against his words. It does seem like we've come across a domestic. Oh, I have an idea. OK. Hello, big man. You bearded one. What is it that you want? We need to know what's really going on.
00:37:47
Speaker
Perhaps you would like to step into this ring of light for me. Now, I've heard of this. This is a sex thing. Now... It isn't. Unless it goes that way. But I don't have any control of what comes out of your mouth. What's happening? That sounds worse. If you have nothing to hide, you'll step in the light. And we will help the way we can. I mean, I've got all cards on the table.
00:38:16
Speaker
Kelsoon has a map that we really want. Kelsoon told us to get this map. We need to come to you and quote unquote shit you up. He is only an ogre. We fought worse. We're not. His ogre's done nothing to us. That's very mean.
00:38:35
Speaker
Anyway. Listen, and Kelsan kind of jumps in and I'll step in your fucking zone of truth if you like. I'll prove that I'm being honest. I believe you. Any kind of... Okay. And I cast it. He does a little back. What's the radius on it? Er, 60 feet. It's our 15-foot cube, so I'm going to try and... Are they close enough? Kelsan and... Hey, I'll probably... Drago and Kelsan still stood next to each other pretty much. Kelsan's there still trying to convince him. And Eridor is about 10, 15 feet away. Okay.
00:39:02
Speaker
cast it in between, definitely encompassing Kelsan with the option Eredor can step in. It can, yes, okay, so it's on the edge, Eredor's on the edge there, Kelsan comes in. So what does it look like when he comes in? So again, like a little spotlight interrogation light fills the room, everything else goes to darkness, and yeah, everyone inside the light has to make a charisma saving throw. If they fail it, they cannot tell a lie. Well, I'm driving, unfortunately, he's in it, so you all have to make the save or just
00:39:31
Speaker
Go with it. Or step out. Or step out, but yeah. What if there's a big cone of light? What if you hold him there, then he'd come? I've lightened up and let go. Okay. So I just kind of shimmy up. The snap of my fingers, spotlight explodes into the room, centering around Kelsan. And I'll say, maybe we can start from the beginning, please.
Moral Debate and Conflict Solutions
00:39:54
Speaker
and you see Kelsa and kind of vibrate almost as he tries, almost looks like he's holding him apart. But he's just like, what? Fine, what do you want to know? I'd like when he said, let's start again, it's like, creation began. It's like, okay. What did you do to this man's brother?
00:40:20
Speaker
We worked a few jobs in the past. I wanted to get him on board. He'd taken the humanitarian route out, helped some people out, worked in a bank. And I wanted him to help me heist it. Do you mean to screw him over with what you've done?
00:40:45
Speaker
More, more man growth. Man growth? No, he's a mate. I didn't mean it. It just fucking happened. He didn't get out in time. He was just there. He wouldn't get involved. So I told him, right, fucking run. Otherwise we're going to get done. You're going to get done as well. And he's like, I don't know. And he fucking stayed and then he got done and I didn't want to get done. So I just went away. So I didn't do it on purpose. And you wanted us
00:41:11
Speaker
to go and scare Eridor so that he'd let this whole thing go.
00:41:18
Speaker
No, mainly so he'd leave me alone because he won't stop blaming me for everything that's happened or the fact is he won't listen to me and because he scares me and the cold rats are fucking dangerous so I can't want his own back up. Do you believe your life is in danger? Right now? No, no, well from the cold rats. Yes, always. They're the cold rats. Can I ask, where's the map in your store? The map is... Right to the back! Fuck! Loving cheese!
00:41:49
Speaker
is right at the back. Um, I don't recommend going there though, it's got a trap on it. Oh, fed up, ourselves! What's the trap? The trap's a fireball too! What happens? How do you activate the trap? You touch something! Touch what? Anything, I'm gonna see now, I've got it so that only I can touch the items in there if anyone else tries to touch it, the whole trap explodes. Robin, wreck on that, don't touch anything, stay here.
00:42:12
Speaker
In fact, she may as well join us. He seems to be having like a brain aneurysm at this point, how he's trying to not sell you things but can't stop saying things. Oh, I didn't really like my mum very much! Shut up! Has Eridor ever done something... evil or against the law? Yes! Lots! Killed members of the fold! Mon- Mongrath, Eridor kind of nods his head slowly. Yes, I have.
00:42:40
Speaker
What would it take, Eridor, for you two to put your things aside and behave like normal people? His death. If we weren't able to give you that. And, um, on a side note to that, Kelso, now, what can we do to get the map from you? Slap him up! Tell him to leave me alone! Okay, one involves death, and the other involves a bit of a slap. Is there any way we can try and help your brother out?
00:43:10
Speaker
And in exchange, you will not wish the death of this very annoying man. Yes, you could have helped him, but he died in jail two years ago and looks directly at Kelsan. And that's gonna be a hard one to sell.
00:43:27
Speaker
That wasn't my fault. I wasn't even in the jail mate. Oh, I didn't know anyone there. It sounds like you had a bit to do with it, Kelfland. The same way that anyone has a bit to do with anything that happens in this place. The birds of one flap changes the outcome of a war. You can't blame that on a fucking bird, can you? He has a point. It doesn't make sense to me.
Magical Confusions and Decision-Making
00:43:51
Speaker
Well, metaphors fly over your head all the time. It doesn't make sense to me either.
00:43:59
Speaker
I'm trying to figure out how everyone walks away with a heart. Theodore, it's only his death that you're after. Is there anything else that we may be able to do or get for you in order to you to drop this whole, albeit sensitive, but death is death? Trust us, we've lost our own too. But is there anything we can do to nullify this situation?
00:44:24
Speaker
The honour of my people asked only for death. Yeah, for his death, okay, okay.
00:44:32
Speaker
I don't know what else we can do here. It looks like we have two choices. Slap the ogre, kill the Essa Ma. I mean, it's important to say that the ogre has committed crimes. Perhaps we can turn him in and endear ourselves to the... I think Kel-san is also a criminal. Turn them both in? Fucking hell, blaming me. It's him! Kel-san, are you a criminal? Yeah, but I mean... Well, no. So we can turn them both in. I don't mean just like that. Now, while this is watching, I'll lean into Talia and say Talia.
00:45:01
Speaker
In all your experience with magic, do you know if the spell Mage Hand can set off these traps? I haven't really heard much of this. I haven't spent my time with traps, to be honest. Log in, live with me. Down the ring, Folly. Folly's just looking around aimlessly, thinking, where the hell this voice going to be? Wonderfully novel, isn't it? I saw you use Mage Hand, is that correct? Do you think I've seen you use that spell before? Yes, voice in my head.
00:45:31
Speaker
It's me, Robin. Raiden in World. Now he's doing it as well. He's speaking to himself. You're speaking out loud as well. I'm speaking at my normal kind of pitch. What the fuck's going on here? Why did I get you involved? Mage hand. It ain't good as setting off traps. Have you got Robin's voice in your head? Yes, unusual. He did that to me earlier.
00:45:53
Speaker
What the fuck's happening? Can I make an Arcana check to see if I know if Mage Hand will activate any kind of traps? Yes, you can. Roll for Arcana, please. It's Fireball, it's a map. Fireball and a map. Fireball. Paper shop.
00:46:16
Speaker
Your understanding of Mage Hand is that it is almost an ethereal form of contact that draws from a separate realm in order to move things in this realm. As far as you are aware, it has the capacity to travel through things at will of the caster and therefore could in theory, if the caster knows the direct placement of the trap and how it's triggered,
00:46:41
Speaker
you could bypass it in order to relieve something that is behind it, but you would need to be able to know exactly where the trigger on the trap is to enable you to not set it off, so to speak. Okay. Does that make sense? Yep, yep. So what I will respond to Robbie now to say, it's entirely plausible, but very, very risky.
00:47:00
Speaker
this conversation Eredor says over the top of this going on perturbs me and he steps forward and starts to kind of stand up straighter I will finish this and then suddenly you see him just kind of not shrivel slightly but he falls his shoulders slump forward slightly except towards you or he's talking up which one of you just
00:47:26
Speaker
No, that's definitely not me. Kel-san is still wearing a light. Did you just do something to Eridor? Nope. Wasn't me. Mr. Man eating a chicken and we haven't actually acknowledged yet. Did you do anything to your friend? I went as mad as you like this. The colonel. Chicken skin. Honest. Just drops onto him. A quick burn. Chips. What? This man.
00:47:53
Speaker
It was, up until now, literally been like the Michael Jackson meme, just eating popcorn. Eating food. It's got to feel like eight chickens there. He's still
Hex Discovery and Group Dynamics
00:48:01
Speaker
holding it up to his throat. He's got a mouth full of chicken. No, no. No, I do believe him. I would like to look if Charlie's doing anything. OK, you'd have to spin around to be able to do that. I'm spinning around. You are. You spin me right round, baby. Can you roll a perception check? Yes.
00:48:23
Speaker
Natural 20. Natural 20. You look directly at Tali and she looks just as shocked at you. You can even see from where her hands have fallen and where her spellbook is and everything about her demeanor gives you almost certainty that it definitely was not Tali that cast him, okay? What do you mean? Cast something. What are you feeling? I'm feeling a weakness like a hex upon me. Calzan, this was you.
00:48:47
Speaker
I'm in the fucking zone thingy, how could it be me when I'm telling the truth? Someone else is here. Am I telling the truth, big man? Can I do a perception check to try and perceive if there's anything else here? Uh, yeah, fill out an investigation. Yeah, I'll try and investigate then. Yes, you'll investigate if there's anything else here. Um... 60? You look around the space in these darkened corners, but with your night vision, you can see through them all. You notice small cracks and crannies around the place.
00:49:20
Speaker
Eridor and his chicken-loving friend seems to live in. If you look around the edges you can see a cot where this human seems to sleep and a large area of furs where you assume Eridor would be laying. Aside from within the furs there seems to be no real descendable place where someone else or something else could be in hiding. The furs are behind where Eridor is as well so you'd have to walk around him in order to...
00:49:50
Speaker
and I won't continue to say what I'm going to say after that until, because I think Robin was waiting to do something, sorry. Robin is hearing this fracas kick off from the inside and he's doing the exact same as Alfia, only around the outside of the building. He's looking around the streets and crannies to see if there's anyone anywhere investigating shop windows, anything. Just literally scouring the arena, hearing the spin go south very quickly. Okay, do you want to give me an investigation check if you want to do this? So I think after...
00:50:19
Speaker
14. You look around up and down the streets, you look up to the building, it's two stories of a slightly shunted, dilapidated building with lights missing in the windows above. You look against the walls or the outside into and around the streets, windows on the road opposite you to see if anyone's maybe casting from a distance.
00:50:37
Speaker
you see no one there, the streets are dead, say what man you can see walking off in the distance off to the east but he seems to have been way too far away and I'm talking, this is a long straight path here, this is a kind of open part of the city, he's too far away to have really had much, your knowledge of Arkana would say this patch would need to be made in eye contact with the target and therefore would have had to have been next to you in order to have casted, so you discern that that person is a non-entity.
00:51:04
Speaker
When you say there are cracks, there are cracks to the outside, so you can see the outside through these cracks. You can't see the outside, no, but you can see cracks within the masonry. Okay. You see darkness within it, but you can't see through the building. I'll have you look around. There's nobody else here, Claude. Erm, Eridor, do you have any other enemies that might want to cause harm and have known that, or maybe seen us on our way? Oh, yes. The Folds.
00:51:51
Speaker
I'll stand in front of the ogre.
00:52:01
Speaker
quite funny to see they're not hurting this man he's not well he's an ogre he's not a man is he well you did kill his brother i mean he has the right to kill you i mean again i didn't kill him i can't you make that abundantly clear that i did not kill him have you walked in front so you and his own kids as well no it's because erad erad door never stepped in so i'm sort of on the outside like body guarding erad door at this point no problem
00:52:28
Speaker
Listen, really simple.
Intense Negotiations with Eridor
00:52:30
Speaker
I'll shit him up. If you fucking cowards aren't enough to punch you over in the face, I'll just do it. If you take a step closer, I will hit but you quite hard. Quite hard or really hard? Because I can take a quite hard one. I've been known to knock people out. Fuck it. And he's going to take a step forward and try and punch. I'm going to make an unarmed attack at him. Could you roll to hit, please? Yes, I can. It's 24. OK. You hit.
00:53:00
Speaker
in the face. Fuck hell! That hurts! Jesus Christ! And he kind of looks up at you for a second. That was not very nice for you to do that. You were going to have slept this man. How's your eyesight? Alright.
00:53:16
Speaker
You're right. Are they good? Are they bad? I'm fine. His eyes roll back in his head and right in front of him. This massive bit of light just appears in the room. He's cast moonlight. Sunlight, sunlight, moonlight, daylight. Thank you. I forgot the word. He cast daylight right in front of him.
00:53:35
Speaker
It's just in front of you. Same with our next check. Next check. 20. OK. You notice as this light begins to appear just in front of you, you can cast the spell yourself. So you kind of manage to cover your eyes just at the last minute to stop this from blinding you as the light bursts out of the room. Robin, you see light literally explode out of this building with light piercing out from every angle like indeed the sun very much is within this building. The rest of you are going to cover your eyes to block out this blinding light.
00:54:03
Speaker
as Kelsan ducks under your arm and he's going to swiftly just punch this ogre right in the eye as he falls down to his knees and Kelsan steps back round in front of you thinking he's gotten away with it and he makes the sunlight go away and just holds his hands up like okay. Drago. Yeah. Do the grabby thing on him. Fair enough. Let's just grab Kelsan by the scruff. This is getting quite comfortable actually. I'd like to point out that this
00:54:31
Speaker
Man is offering to give us a map. I feel like we're not going to endear ourselves to this man helping us. We'll get the map eventually. What about other things? I mean, is there anything else we need from him? Hang on. So, you successfully punched the ogre in the face. Feel better for it. Sorry about that. Feel in a given mood for it. Um, about that.
00:54:55
Speaker
What do you mean about that? And I push him into this tone of truth, but keep holding him. And he goes through, he's gonna roll off it again. Come on, we're all gonna die, so that's okay. He fails that as well, just everything. He rolled dog shit, so he's like a two, a three, and then, oh god love him, um, just you push him back and he starts to gonna shake and shit her again.
00:55:39
Speaker
That's a 10. And as you say that, you hold him up and he kind of lets out a little smoke from the side of his face. Oh, he's laughing at me. Your breath is stinking. Cool. I'm going to punch him in the face. Real hard. How is he 26? You hit him. Six points of damage right in the face.
00:56:07
Speaker
And I'm going to draw my hand as if I'm going to do it again. His nose is bleeding here as his head falls down. No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Could you not punch me in the face? Could you give me a map? Cool. Another punch in the face. Natural one. And he goes, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. And then just as the punch comes forward, its moves are supposed to punch the wall and break some of the basement in the wall slightly there.
00:56:35
Speaker
Do we always have to resort to... You wanted to hit the ogre, yes we do. Yeah, I wanted to hit the ogre. I mean, he's an ogre. This is an ace of me, I don't know. I'm chopping Kelsan with Geord my Blade.
00:56:48
Speaker
That's a big sound. You get a final chance because I'm getting angry. I'll go, I'll go. One second.
Escalating Tensions and Humor Balancing
00:56:54
Speaker
Mage Hand is just going to come along holding a vial and he's going to take some of the blood that's been coming out. I've been punching him. And then he's just going to bring you back to Polly. In my mind, how this happens is he's going to die.
00:57:13
Speaker
Kelsan is looking up at Drago as he draws a sword and just out of the sideshow you see this little blue hand. I imagine it's like the Robin Williams version of the genie. He comes in, Kelsan doesn't even move, his violin just holds itself under. He just moves out of the shot, wobbles back to, and all eyes follow the main chunk to watch it go back to the Follypus of Amalite, because you beat, take it out of the air. Okay, final time! And I'm just about to swing my sword down.
00:57:45
Speaker
Please stop. We shall never know what that role was going to be. What's Eredor doing right now as well? He's just taking himself up. He's covering his eye, which is sore, and he's got his hand up over everybody. He's just sat cross-legged watching this whole thing play out. A map. Correct. Okay. No, no, no, no, I mean correct as in I'll show you what it looks like for a limited time, which is actually
00:58:15
Speaker
for life because I like living. Yeah, that sounds like a good time. We can borrow it as long as we can. Why are you going to sort out? You could just, you know, any points to the ogre, like, hmm, why are you down? No, you're not in the position to tell us the commands anymore. I thought I'd ask. You're still in the zone? Mm-hmm. Is there actually a map? Yes. I am actually a cartographic wonder.
00:58:41
Speaker
If I do say so myself and he bows and coughs up some blood and... Don't forget that, Folly. The phlegm might be worth something. Once again, Mage Hand just comes out with a little bit of a vial and just scoops up what he can. Okay, so you had your fun with the ogre? Ogre? Yes. Are you done with this, man? His death would satisfy me, but you were punching him in the face.
00:59:06
Speaker
was satisfactory. After we leave, are you just going to kill him? And later on? Depends on how things go. Why don't you have a free punch at him now and call it quits? Just make him a good ogre smack, you know? And if he's had an agreement actually. And if we happen to hear Kelsan suddenly dying mysteriously, I'll be coming to ask questions about you and if you were involved.
00:59:33
Speaker
He cricks his neck one way or the other and stands up tall. Agreed, elf. I take the step forward. Drag her. You are, apparently, in the way of this ogre taking a swing at Kelsan. Kelsan does look rather bloodied, rather weak anyway on the floor as he lies there. Eridor, can you just...
00:59:55
Speaker
And I think you're gonna kill him with one hit. I mean, I did a lot of damage here. Just let us have the map. And we're on our way. Who knows what will happen to Kelsan after we go? Well no, we can't honestly be a bit hypocritical if we let Kelsan get murdered by this man having
01:00:14
Speaker
Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm not saying he'll get murdered, I'm saying. But he says he will possibly kill Kelsan once we've left. You can't say that we're going to leave. And then what will happen will happen. We can't go away with that on our conscience. Can see we've just stood here and said we're not going to beat him up. I feel like we can't control anyone.
01:00:36
Speaker
I mean, Alfie's looking for this, and we're going, is this not hypocritical of us to potentially allow Kelsohn to then be murdered by this ogre? Alfie, I've never heard of one of Hippogrip for this, but Mr Eredor, would you have a moment in The Shiny? No. He says, after looking at The Shiny and seeing what he can do, I would prefer not to stand in the zone.
01:01:01
Speaker
Well, could we have your word? Is that a good ogre punch? His heart still beats. Bygones, bygones. That's it. Very well. Fair enough. Um, insight check. If you're lying. Roll the insight check, please. Um... 17. You look at him, Alfred.
01:01:29
Speaker
You get the distinct feeling, you get the distinct feeling that he doesn't care about what you've just said or the agreement you've just made. Okay, I was going to be a liar. A liar accusing me of lying. Yes. Claude, this person has no intention of giving any word he gives to us. At all. Well, maybe we could let the fold. No. Or maybe we just take them both to the guards of the city.
01:01:58
Speaker
Oh, I'd rather not go to the guards. They, uh... We're on a tenuous set of circumstances anyway I behave myself. We're getting very deeply involved in matters that do not concern us. Listen, if
Kelsan's Twists and Narrative Climax
01:02:09
Speaker
we just go now, you take me with you, I'll go back to the shop, I'll give you the map, you'll never see me again at the end. That sounds good for me. Unless you obviously want to see what's her name up at Bleakmoor and just tell her I say... Aye. Madam Markford said that she doesn't want to hear from you ever again. Oh shit. Yeah, and what he says goes in this matter.
01:02:29
Speaker
For fuck's sake. You're coming with us. Very well. But if Kelsan ends up dead, I think we will come looking. They'll come looking. I don't give a shit. And I'm walking out the door. Typical Drago doesn't give a shit about much things. Are you still carrying Kelsan out the door with you? I'll take care of him. I'm looking at Folly and...
01:02:55
Speaker
Are you in the room? No, as Drago comes out, Robin's distinctly bored of this. Are we going to get them out now? We're going to get them out. It's our fault. I'm not going to go with them. Typical Drago, bullheaded, not really caring about many consequences, and... There we go. Our first time I met you, you drop-kicked innocent man down the well.
01:03:19
Speaker
He wasn't really innocent, was he? Well, he was burned alive by Folly's house. By Folly, he was, yes. So he was innocent in the end. Fair enough, but you seem to rather do lots of rash things. He just likes kicking doors. And punching people. Yeah, I really wanted to help out that man. As much as I don't like it, I think this is more of a means to an end.
01:03:44
Speaker
Bigger problems, I'm afraid, than the goings-on in this town. If we can acquire a map that will help us accomplish our goal, then surely that's so worth everything. You're willing to allow innocence. So you're willing to do small evils for a greater good. If one person must die to save millions, then yes. Interesting. Mr Eridor, how are you feeling?
01:04:10
Speaker
sore, enraged, and wondering why the fuck you're still in my house. Well, before I go, perhaps I can ease those wounds, and whatever is else affecting you, perhaps I can dispel that, and then I will leave. Also, he looks like he's got a nice chicken. Is there any chicken spare? You look down to the man who's still eating chicken, and he goes, fuck off, mine your own! Okay.
01:04:40
Speaker
Yes, good human, I would appreciate the healings of my wounds. And if there was anything you can do to remove this weakness upon me, I would be within your debt. Could I do a medicine check to ascertain the nature of his plagued thing? Could you give me an Arcana check? No! It's a intelligence! Um, I also, if he's messing around there, Alfie has gone out to join these. Minus one to that, but it's still 18. Nice!
01:05:10
Speaker
You notice very clearly the way in which he's being buckled and pulled down to the ground. This isn't an affliction of the body, it's an affliction put on by magic. He is under the influence of a hex. Okay, I will in which case use Greater Restoration and also kill Moonz and he will receive... 20 points of healing. You see suddenly as you cast these pair of spells upon him, his large ogre form starts to lift up
01:05:38
Speaker
I feel better. Human, thank you for your patience, but the weakness still remains. I appreciate your effort, nonetheless, as he rubs his face. This affliction runs deeper. Thank you. Have you felt like that before?
01:06:05
Speaker
Once or twice in my life, yes, I have. There's something very wrong. If my magic can't help you. Yes. There is something very wrong here. Across more than just Everfire. Across Sleepguard. You must leave. I will. Thank you for your time, human. Look after yourself. And you also?
01:06:34
Speaker
You're the first person who's taller than me that I like. Ow! We're the same height-ish. Yeah, he just hunched over. You are about as high. He's hunched. But if I didn't have a spine in the shape of a candy cane, I would be about the same, right? Wow! Yeah, he's big. He's big. Wow! As we make our way outside of the shop...
01:06:58
Speaker
Cal sign is he still at the scruff of the neck by the way? Yeah just literally grab if you imagine it so when Drago was having enough just picked him up by the scruff of his neck again it was like you're coming with us and just kind of grabs him and holds him as you would a back rock song. I imagine you're like carrying like Shrek holding Princess Leona in a strap.
01:07:18
Speaker
As you lift in Kelsan and he starts to leave the shop, he starts to go, oh for fuck sake, and suddenly goes quite quiet for a couple of seconds and you feel his body start to twist and move and then he goes still for a second and then one big lurch. As you turn to realise what Kelsan's just done and just as, Claude, you leave the shop, you realise that Kelsan has removed from his satchel or can only be described as some kind of petrol bomb and is just launched at the side of this building.
01:07:46
Speaker
lighting the side of the building on fire. Yeah, the building you've just come out from, and you see the flames light up above you, and he kinda looks at it and goes, yes, come on, back to the shop, I'll give you the map. He turns to run, realizing you're not moving. Come on, run, you mad fuckers! And

A superfluous DM. This means we don't need it. Yeah, you said he's superfluous. So thanks to requirements. Do you mean he's this literature to me, everybody? Do you mean that Mark is the superlative of our group? He's really good. I thought he meant the supercalifragilist. He's that tastily rolled DM. And until next time, guys, farewell.

Hi everyone, this is a special and really quick shoutout to our main man Danny who plays Claude. He's set up his own Etsy page and it's called, funnily enough, Crafts by Claude. He's currently hand making and selling personalised initiative trackers. Each comes with a logo of the character or creature type because you can also have them made for baddies as well.
01:09:36
Speaker
and they can be personalised to include specific character names or indeed nicknames if you want them. But wait, I exclaim, whether I put these awesome trackers made by the world's single nicest person, luckily they fit perfectly on your DM screen, or in my case, my laptop screen, and we've all been there in the heat of a massive important battle, and you've kind of lost track a little bit about whose turn it is and the players are all up in your face about who's going next, these are perfect just so everyone knows very clearly who's going in what order, they're super easy to move around to set up,
01:10:06
Speaker
they're not going to get broken they are honestly incredible bit of kit we've used them quite a bit on the fellowship at the tabletop and we love them check out his work on Etsy search crafts by Claude
