Calum's Math Mishap

00:00:00
Speaker
I could double check what the fucking stats are for this thing. That'd be useful, Calum, if you got the stats ready for your characters. That'd be great. It does help. It definitely does help. Normally, I'd edit this out of the podcast, but no, the world deserves to hear. The world deserves to know that I can't do any kind of math.

Introduction to Aerith Adventure

00:00:44
Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. But I'm Draconis, we are live play 5e D&D podcast set in the magical homebrew world of Aerith in the Kingdom of Sleekguard. My name is Mark and I am the Dungeon Master. And also with us for this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop we have Callum who plays the Warforce Artificer Alpha. I don't think these are chickens. We have Ian who plays the Tiefling Warlocks, Nyx Carell. Still though, a fucking cow.
00:01:12
Speaker
Moo. Will who plays the... I'm trying to do this off the top of my head. Will who plays the human cleric, Emron. Stay in the light. We've got Darren who plays the half elf, half elf artificer, Rains Haddow. High elf artificer and... So what did I say? I don't know. And we've got Danny who plays the half orc, monk and roe to Boakendusk. Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
00:01:42
Speaker
To figure out what happened on last week's episode of the photoshoot with Tabletop, we're going to pass over to our chronicler Darren.

Recap Request: Mark vs. Danny

00:01:51
Speaker
Darren, this is going to be an interesting episode. God, what's to come? I didn't do my mouth warm up. Darren, let's hear your recap.
00:02:01
Speaker
No, I don't want to hear Darren, no offence Darren, but I'd rather hear it from Danny, who is our actual chronicler of events in the past, previously on, so to speak, our tat-a-tat, our company, or anything else. What happened on last week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop?

Leaving Goldport Keep

00:02:15
Speaker
In the last few pages of our adventure, the party departs Goldport Keep, heading south to Redstone Farm. On the road, our not-yet-heroes encounter farmlands, constantly being set ablaze by the hands of the Epichriska. Speaking to a fellow traveller, Vani Shaz, the party learns that this is a site of purification. Soil that once animated the undead legions of the Blight is being carted into these lands and destroyed.

Bernadette's Monster Report

00:02:42
Speaker
At Redstone Farm, Bernadette tells the group that her farm is being plagued by a family of winged monsters who are roosting at the forefinger, a jagged rocky cliff outcrop on the shores of the Bronze Storm Sea. The party push through the night and arrive at the cliffs where they lay eyes on the beast, a periton.
00:03:05
Speaker
A low rumble of thunder follows in from behind you as you walk across and up the forefinger until you soot eyes upon one of these four paratons. Its large antlers stand high on its head, almost noting its location of it looking as its head jerks from side to side, where its beak should be a large jaw filled full of jagged teeth. Its wings are tucked away, its large talons sat close to its body.
00:03:37
Speaker
In the area, you find yourselves tucked behind a number of trees, hidden from sight. You notice a couple of things from your location. Few of you can make this out. Alpha, you cannot, because it's in the dark and you have not got dark vision.

Discovery at the Cliffs

00:03:51
Speaker
You notice at the very, very top of the forefinger, on the tip, one might say, at the forefinger, there is a outcrop of bushes and trees that seem to have populated themselves on top, creating a form of natural shelter.
00:04:06
Speaker
There is also, because of this, a slight enclave. Gosh, the word. Enclosure? Enclosure, there we go with that. It's not the word I want to put. Enclave? Enclave, that's what I was going for. Thank you, Callum. You're welcome. And within this enclave is the nests of the paratons.
00:04:24
Speaker
Though this nest is not the normal nest you would see of animals, smaller and less violent, this nest seems to be littered with bones of animals, hopefully not of humans, of creatures, small or large, probably cows as well.
00:04:41
Speaker
Nest is about 30 or 40 feet wide and sits at the very, very far tip of the forefinger. Next to it also is a large number of bushels of hay. These seem to have been also stolen from other lands or farms nearby and placed by the paratons close by. To the right of where you're looking,
00:05:04
Speaker
and directly at this one paraton sits an outcropper, a very specific outcropping of four large, I kind of think stone henge like stones that sit high out of the ground. And in between those, it seems to

Stealth and Strategy

00:05:17
Speaker
dip down. This might be a natural pooling point of water. One paraton sits with its head low, lapping at the water.
00:05:24
Speaker
three other paratons sit in the camp, wings tucked in against the night still and quiet, faces and heads in. Every now and then one juts its head up, looks around and then lowers back down as it seems to either be resting, eating or doing something else. If you look on roll 20 in approximately five seconds I'll move you onto the map.
00:05:46
Speaker
Unfortunately, and Dungeon Alchemist had the choice of making it night and day. I put it as day not thinking you travel through the night. So please just imagine it's night and not day.
00:05:57
Speaker
You find yourself in the bottom left corner and it's, you're probably 60, 70 feet away from this. To the north, there's a large set of stones, rocks that seem to, would give you some kind of natural shelter. There are a number of trees close by and large fungi that give you some cover. To the right, east of the map, you have the single paraton feeding at the lake and to the north,
00:06:23
Speaker
East you've got the camp of the paratons where they are currently sat quietly feeding or resting.
00:06:35
Speaker
You've taken this whole kind of scene in, in the silence as your eyes dart across the scenario in front of you, all obviously bar alpha. Emron, your hammer is still casting, you've still cast light, you've still got light on yourself, casting 20 feet of kind of quite strong light and then an additional 40, sorry, additional 20 feet of dim light and then beyond that, nothing. The silence for a moment as you take the scene in. What do you want to do?
00:07:08
Speaker
Do we think we've been seen? The creature hasn't made any noise since the flash of lightning allowed you to see the creature by the pool. Are they making any sounds? And if so, how does it sound? I can't really. I was going to try that. It's been a week. Have you worked on this in the bathroom every morning? I'm waking my son up and giving him my attempt at a parrot on.
00:07:37
Speaker
Let's do it. Could I attempt to stealthily move northward towards the rocks and then round those rocks towards the bigger

Noise Alert: Peritons Engaged

00:07:48
Speaker
nest? Absolutely. You can do so. Could you give me a stealth check, please, Murr? Of course. We'll do this. We'll get what you're all doing then. We'll let them all kind of happen.
00:07:55
Speaker
I would like to stealth in kind but in the west direction towards the Stonehenge area of rocks.
00:08:20
Speaker
east area where the Stonehenge rocks are laid up and get as close to the rock where it's nearest to the Cow Thief. Cow Thief, absolutely. Could you also give me a stealth check then please? I can. You'll be happy to know that's a 17. Thank you.
00:08:45
Speaker
What about Alpha, Emron and Reigns? What are you guys up to on this? Emron all just looked at Reigns. Has Reigns put his armour on yet? Okay. Darren was shaking his head on a podcast, which... Darren says no. Emron will look the others and sort of see Nyx and Rocha around, sort of. Maybe they've sort of taken a stance that shows you're about to move stealthily and...
00:09:15
Speaker
Perhaps tries to follow suit, but he's going to go down the middle. But everyone's not a stealthy guy. So this is with disadvantage. So here we go. Disadvantage.

Reigns' Armor and Tension

00:09:33
Speaker
Oh, natural 20 has been updated because
00:09:37
Speaker
Interesting. That's Roll20 updated? What? D&D Beyond's been updated and I got to select how I was rolling the dice. I could say with disadvantage and then... So that's a... That's a while. Two on my stealth roll. Okay. Thank you very much. What about... I think what Alpha would like to do is he sees everybody just kind of moving off in general direction. He's going to just quietly whisper as best he can.
00:10:07
Speaker
Wake up Beta and his little mini gun, not an actual mini gun, but just a very small gun. Wake up and just take a point on his shoulder.
00:10:23
Speaker
probably with the same kind of success as M. Ron, he's going to slowly try and creep up behind M. Ron as well using the same crappy stealth check with disadvantage. All right. Give me your stealth check with disadvantage, please. I actually got a natural 20, but with the disadvantage, I get a 15. Okay.
00:10:52
Speaker
Okay, last and definitely not least, Reigns, what are you up to in this approach? Reigns would have waited to let Emron basically set the pace as he always does. He often takes his lead from what Emron does and the second that Emron would have started to clank, Reigns would have just stopped and his hand almost like a cowboy before a draw in the duel is just hovering over the bag of holding.
00:11:24
Speaker
And Reigns is just ready to grab the Rubik's Cube to summon the armour, which is going to be loud as soon as it appears something's going off. But Reigns, upon hearing Enron make quite a bit of noise, is just standing to attention. Okay, so you're staying relatively far back.

Combat Begins: Emron's Counter

00:11:45
Speaker
Okay.
00:11:47
Speaker
Morota, Nyx, you move silently into the night, separating out, practiced, debauched people as you are. Not debauched, that's the wrong word. Amoral, let's say, as we are, slink into the darkness like black cats of the night. And it's only a matter of time before even those with dark vision have trouble swatting you through the leaves, shrubberies, and outcroppings of the forefinger. You successfully make your way both to your positions.
00:12:16
Speaker
down the centre, Emron and Alpha, you set off, successful at first, 10, 20 feet past, between these two sets of trees, before Emron, your
00:12:32
Speaker
You, uh, foot slips on the slightly mossy, described slightly mossy PT slippy ground slips. And as you go to reset yourself, your hand, um, let's go of your hammer. It's also your source of light as you kind of put your hands down to kind of stop yourself from falling a bit and doing so. You managed to find your footing again, but the hammer thuds down onto the ground. I'm just going to place you where you would have been next. How's that?
00:13:00
Speaker
As that happens, you would have heard, anyone would have, uh, audibly gone bastard. Um, and I'm going to assume, uh, that reigns you, you kind of had a kind of a held action almost in terms of the casting this, um, iron man spell. Is that right? I'm about to basically summon the suit of llama. Yeah. I think it's called back in black. Bam.
00:13:28
Speaker
So that can probably take place now as well, because there's been a loud cank of noise in the head. I think these creatures has kind of turned to you. As soon as that happens, rain will just allow the silence for a second before going, yeah, don't like this.
00:13:45
Speaker
activate Defender Protocol 1 and NC is going to come springing out of the bag of holding with the Rubik's Cube, pass the Cube into Rains' hand, he's going to squeeze the Cube and the armour is just going to start to, just piece by piece, start to piecemail itself onto Rains over the next six seconds. Emon. Rules note, it states you have to turn a suit of armour you're wearing into the Arcane Armour. Did it yesterday.
00:14:16
Speaker
No, no, no. You have to be physically wearing the armour. No. It says the first time you do it and then you can doth and don it in six seconds. Okay. Okay. Sorry. Thanks. Holy shit. It got very tense. Darren's face right now. Is the assumption that I haven't actually read what I should be doing? Double down on it. Double down on it. Oh, we're on something now. We're as far as I was aware.
00:14:45
Speaker
I didn't- Well, and Darren, could you two roll for initiative? Right? It was just because I knew you weren't wearing armour. I was like, oh, okay. I didn't know whether you had to- We always appreciate a will. No, no, no, that's it. That's it. No, fuck that shit. Not doing anymore. No. No, come on. I'm gonna be able to get away with all sorts of bullshit now and so it's kind of- Yeah!
00:15:05
Speaker
Don't be only one bullshitter in this campaign. Come on, we're all bullshitter, wait a minute. Until I can kill off. Just you wait, right. I've got an AC of 30 now. So Iron Man's going for it, what's next?
00:15:17
Speaker
Um, right. Well, if that's the case, the, the three, uh, the three paratons at the camp, the heads kind of turned towards the sound, the live sound and dry to lock onto you three. Um, and the wings start to unfurl as they pushed themselves up into the air and could be all please roll initiative. We're going straight into it. Yeah. And the awkward silence where everyone rolls. Not bad. Not bad at all. Get 20 plus.
00:15:46
Speaker
Good. Did anyone get 10 to 15? Sorry, 15 to 20? 18. 18. Um, Emerald, did you get in there? Got 16. Lovely. Uh, 10 to 15? 14. And 12 for Alpha. Oh no, Marota, what did you get?
00:16:16
Speaker
Five. And actually, in fact, that was probably quite a morotary thing to do. I'm hidden, they're not attacking me, so I'll just stay quiet for a bit and make sense to an extent. Okay. These creatures turn and are kind of airborne 5, 10, 15 feet in the air and they turn and the three of them from the main camp are hurtling towards you and they are going to
00:16:44
Speaker
I mean, they're going to hit you. They're going to attack you. Bring it. Oh, they can't get all the way. Not mine. Good. Our first catch of the day. Let me just spin these people around so that you're facing you. That's better.
00:17:02
Speaker
Okay, and they start hurtling towards you, but can't make it all the way there. They've got this furious anger in their eyes as they barrel down on your location. And the one by the pool, however, does, oh, actually, no, they've got, they could double, double action. No, I'm not going to.
00:17:20
Speaker
And the one that's by the pool, his head rips out of the water and it flaps up and perches on top of the furthest kind of Stonehenge thing and kind of overseeing what's happening with the other three before it chooses to do anything. That is the end of their movement. And then we're going to jump to the top of the round. So Nix, top of the round, over to you. What do you want to do?
00:17:49
Speaker
Am I under the assumption that Enron, a big old clanky noise over there, I am still under a stealth kind of veil.

Nyx's Stealth and Emron's Hit

00:17:58
Speaker
No one has set eyes on me. The three that you can see from the nest are heading towards Enron and Alpha, correct? About the one closest to me perched on this little stone hengy thing.
00:18:11
Speaker
As you look up towards the paratons closest to you on one of those Stonehenge looking, jutting out rocks, it's looking towards its fellow paratons and not looking towards you. Okay, Nyx is going to hug the rock closest to him on the right side. So he's got, and he's going to peer around. So he's kind of, he's got view of the, um,
00:18:40
Speaker
Paraton, what's it called again? Paraton, awesome. That's perched on top of the rock and he's just gonna...
00:18:49
Speaker
hold here just to make sure that he's under kind of a stealth fail. He's not going to attack because these things are freaking him out, man. He's never fucking seen him before. And he's just remembering they took a cow. He's just constantly in his head. So he's just peering around the rock as he's trying to formulate what he's actually going to do next because my original plan got blasted out of the water when Emron fell over.
00:19:19
Speaker
No problem. So next up we have Emron. Emron, these three things are barreling down on you. These are, you know, kind of relatively small, tall-side creatures, but the wings make them look fucking massive as they are heading straight towards you. I'm gonna give you, you don't have to spend anything to pick up your hammer. If everyone else is Iron Man, then they've moved forward. I imagine you've had time to pick up your hammer, so you haven't got to include that as part of your action. What would you like to do?
00:19:45
Speaker
Thanks. So, M1 will see these creatures coming towards him and he will raise his hammer in the air with it shining with light and locking eyes with the creatures shout, Elidil's flames will have you and I'm going to cast spiritual weapon.
00:20:10
Speaker
So as everyone's hammer comes back down like this little flaming image of the hammer is still hovering there and
00:20:22
Speaker
It will appear, it will then move, and essentially as part of its summoning, it will then appear next to that creature closest to me. Can you give me a token or something to count? I'm sure you'll be able to fit. Can you do that? What's the next? Do you need to get, are you talking about this round? Yeah, yeah, I get to, because it's only a bonus action to cast that. So I cast that. Oh!
00:20:55
Speaker
You're right. Yes, it rolled to hit, so I got a crit with it. Oh snap! That's why I went, ooh! Ooh! Now drill 20. So that's a crit to hit that creature closest to me, Mark. The one on the far left of the three. Yes. Yep, okay. I mean, that hits. Obviously it's a crit. Didn't know they could have been immune to crits, who knows?
00:21:21
Speaker
And it takes 11 points of force damage as this hammer collides with the side of its face. And then it takes another 4 points from the crits, that's 15 in total. It's dead, we pack up, we go home. No way. Nice, good, this hit comes in, it kind of...
00:21:45
Speaker
hits the side of this creature, and it seems to almost buckle under the pressure of such a hit, but it continues to flap up and towards you. Anything else you want to do, M1? And then as that hammer strikes, M1 then surges forward, and I will then make an attack against the antihistamine-like periton or periton creature. Okay, roll for sneeze. No, yeah, go. Roll to hit.
00:22:15
Speaker
That's an 18 to hit. That does indeed hit.
00:22:24
Speaker
Oh, that was naff rolling. And then that's three points of bludgeoning damage to the creature. Hammer smacks dying, catching it slow on the belly as it manages to pull up at the last minute out of the main blow of your hammer. Nice stuff. Anything else you want to do, M1? No, that is the end of my go. Lovely. It is now their turn and they are going to sweep in.
00:22:56
Speaker
And it hit you and attack you. They got multi attack. Cool. I've drawn a square for my hammer, by the way. I can move. Thank you, my man. That's absolutely perfect. So the first, they're going to do multi attack, one gore and one talent attack each time. So they're going to try and get you with a mouth and then try and catch you with a claw as it kind of flies off past you. Okie dokie. It's a 10 and an eight against your armor class. I'm assuming both of those. Both miss. Miss the second one.
00:23:27
Speaker
21 and a 22. Yeah, those both hit. Okay, so the first one, oh, you take four points of piercing damage. Three points as the talons, sorry, four points of piercing damage and three points of slashing damage from the talons as the second one manages to catch you on your person. The final one that's going to hit you, that is a 16 against your armor class. Miss.
00:23:55
Speaker
and a 11 miss wait no no it makes it worse 11 yeah it was 11 yeah cool so that second one missed the third one missed the first one managed to make both attacks
00:24:07
Speaker
They are also, and they have a special ability which allows them to do this without provoking an attack of opportunity fly by, which means they can fly in and fly out without provoking an attack of opportunity. The one that you fit, the other two are going to fly around coasting really low to the ground, about 10 feet off the ground, bringing around in a tight circle, returning themselves to the north nearer to where Marota
00:24:30
Speaker
is hiding but facing the opposite way as they're kind of banking around for another attack. However, the one that you've taken a good chunk out of is going to bank less sharply more towards Morota, not go half as far but go directly up.
00:24:45
Speaker
to get some distance because this one is quite badly damaged. And it's going to fly directly up, probably about 40 feet, just directly up out of dodge of your hammer, which it does not like from its previous attacks.

Adjusting Tactics: Nyx and Alpha

00:24:59
Speaker
The one that is up on the Stonehenge things, Nick, I'm going to roll for perception for it. There's no idea you're there. It's just still watching. It looks a little bit annoyed as the hit comes in from Emeron, but it doesn't seem to move from its perch up there.
00:25:14
Speaker
That is the end of the paratons, sneeze over. Rains, you've just seen Emron single-handedly bat one of these beasts out of the sky. What would you like to do? Rains is going to see the three of these descend onto Emron, and he's just immediately going to go, well, damn.
00:25:38
Speaker
Okay, time for the mini NCs. And he's going to lift his hand. And what's going to happen are these three little mini NCs are going to appear on his wrist as the gauntlet turns into the symbol of evocation upon the back of the knuckles. And what's going to happen is that these three little mini NCs are going to pull down their goggles. And they're just going to fly off into the direction of this creature. And they're just going to swerve round them wrong. And I'm going to cast magic missile. And I'm going to aim for the one
00:26:08
Speaker
that is most directly threatening M-ROM is how I perceive to be most directly threatening M-ROM. I mean, they're all, at the moment, flying away from M-ROM. That's my boy. Which one did the... I'll go for the one that's still closest to him then. I think it's the best one. That's the one that's kind of flown up out of Dodge Away from M-ROM's hammer. Yeah, absolutely. How much damage should they take for the magic missile? I will tell you. Thank you.
00:26:39
Speaker
rain's got my back nice okay they take so for every dart there are three darts total they take three points of i believe it is
00:26:57
Speaker
It's his force damage. It's his force damage. It says on the screen. They take a grand total of nine points of force damage. Just fly into them. Use the force damage. So that takes the idea. Yeah, cool. Absolutely. It's three darts of force damage into the back of this parrot.
00:27:21
Speaker
as it tries to take the corner as it flies up and it thuds into its underbelly. It's not looking healthy as blood starts to leak down out of it, some of it falling down, raining on Morota. Raining blood on your, around you. Anyway, anything else you want to do, Raines? Yes, I'm going to use 30 feet of movement to move closer to Emrom. Cracking. Good shit.
00:27:45
Speaker
Next up, we've got Alpha. Alpha, you've just seen Mini NCs flying off. Emron, full on Thors hammering these bitches out the sky. You've seen nothing of Marote and Nick so far. What do you want to do? Alpha's going to sprint just to the east of Emron and where it now rains is. We've seen Emron take a couple of hits.
00:28:09
Speaker
still seems to be doing okay. But you're going to turn to Beta and say, to get the Beta, he raises his pistol, and both me and Beta are just going to fire at this paratomb that M. Run and Reigns has been doing some damage into. Okay, roll to hit. I'll do myself first. Always. And that always. Yep. 22 to hit. Shit. I mean, you guys are rolling so well. Yeah, that hits.
00:28:34
Speaker
and 11 points of piercing damage. The shot fires into the back of this paraton, and the body thuds down to the ground on top of the rocky outcrop to the north of where Marauder is currently hiding. That paraton is dead. Cool. In that case, I'm going to quickly look to Beta. Okay, you pick one then.
00:28:59
Speaker
And he's going to go for the one just to the right. Now, the one was like directly in front, but he was like in the middle of the three beforehand. And he's going to try and attack him instead. Roll to hit.
00:29:11
Speaker
double check what the fucking stats are for this thing. Yeah, that'd be useful, Calum, if you got the stats ready for your characters, that'd be great. It does help. It definitely does help. Normally, I'd edit this out of the podcast, but no, the world deserves to hear. The world deserves to know that I can't do any better than that. I think the D&D dice gods agreed with us. Yeah, yeah, they definitely agreed. I rolled a two, but with a modifier on, it's... 22.
00:29:37
Speaker
Yeah, actually, yeah, just yeah, 22 to hit again, you know, now it's seven. So yeah, this is so this little like, poof of force energy, you just got to go in between the two of them.
00:29:52
Speaker
All right then, thank you very much, Alfred, for that. Bottom of the round, Marota, we're going to pass over to you. You've just seen this paraton creature splat down on the rocks just to your left, to the north of you.

Grapple and Chaos

00:30:03
Speaker
You're hidden behind to the north as these two paratons in front of you are kind of flying away from the group, kind of doing a big banking turn. What do you want to do? So I'm currently hidden still. No one has perceived me yet.
00:30:18
Speaker
That's correct. Okay. And the boulder that I am pressed up against, hiding beneath, how tall is that? About 10 feet tall. The one to your north is even higher, about 15, 20 feet, and the one kind of clockwise to 11 o'clock is even taller, so it kind of goes taller, shorter, and you're behind the shortest. Okay. And the paratons that are to the east of me over the rock, they are, you said, about 10, 15. It's about the same height as the top of the boulder.
00:30:48
Speaker
OK, Mark, I'd like to climb the boulder and I'd like to jump over and I'd like to grapple, please, because I can jump 10 feet across because that's my strength.
00:31:01
Speaker
So I should, as I see it, should be able to just grab the tail feathers or like the back end of that peloton. Paraton. Peloton's an exercise bike. Paraton. Paraton. It sounds like some kind of salve to help your skin when you have extra paraton. So I'm going to, in attempts to just grapple it and bring it to the ground. I'll bring it down. Well, I mean, that's, that's your call on where the weight goes, I suppose.
00:31:32
Speaker
tame it, ride it, but I will use my whip's ability to grapple. So it's 14 for me, so they've got acrobatics or athletics to beat. They've got athletics, well, yeah. I got 13, but it's got a plus three modifier for its strength. Ah, let's see. 16 for that.
00:31:57
Speaker
So the whip wraps around the tail and it pulls two or three of the feathers out of it, but it just manages to rip itself away. So you do land on the ground. There, is that right? Yeah. As that fails then, and I try my best, just going down, I'm just going to give it one hard boot with my toe and do an unarmed attack in its butt. All right, go on then, kick it at the butt.
00:32:26
Speaker
Or a 15. That hits. Takes 6 points of bludgeoning damage. Doesn't like being kicked in the butt, I'll tell you that for free. And then I'm just going to land and style it out as though I meant to fuck up.
00:32:47
Speaker
This is true, yes. And because we are about 15 feet, that's a good point that our rules consultant, this is put in the chat, do we take any kind of falling damage? Well, is anything, are you taking 1D6 for every 10 feet you fall? And if Road has climbed up something that was 10 to 15 feet? Yeah, that's very true. Could we, you're going to take... Where have all my days gone? The rules consulted giveth and taketh away.
00:33:13
Speaker
I have spoken. At the next level, I take no damage from falling. Yes. Yeah, there, yeah. Ski shots in early, Will. You're going to take one point of falling damage if I roll them. Technically, you fall prone. I would have... Will on our side, I'm not too sure. I would have enough movement to undo the prone, though. You do, yeah. Because I have 40 feet of movement, so I would go prone straight back up again.
00:33:38
Speaker
You hero landed. You explained your ankle slightly. Assassin's Creed rolled. Yes. Sean Michael's kick up. Any of those combinations. That's my tool. I like where your mind was at though, Danny. I really like where your mind was at, but apologies on the miss. Although I'm apologizing, roll better.
00:33:56
Speaker
Right, Nick, stop all around. You're hidden behind a small kind of watery oasis. Not far behind you actually is the edge as well. You're probably about 10 feet off the cliff edge.

Guiding Bolt and Aerial Maneuvers

00:34:08
Speaker
Just to give you an idea on the map, I couldn't draw the edge of the cliff, but you've probably got about 10 feet round the perimeter before you start seeing the craggy ridges of the pinnacle of the forefinger here.
00:34:22
Speaker
This is kind of the map on Roll20, but also the limitations of the map as we have an edge on all those sides as well. So you're kind of near the edge. You can feel the spray of the ocean whipping up from probably 100 feet below you where the waves are crashing into the coastline of Tliquard. And you're hidden behind the Stonehenge-like pillar. What do you want to do? I'm hidden behind the Stonehenge, as you said. Can the Pteradon
00:34:51
Speaker
The Puritan to the right of me. Can it see me? Can he see me? Are you hiding? Well, yeah, I'm just wondering, has he got a bead on me? Is he stayed on? Because we've got four rocks, like you said, finger four. And I'm at the bottom, he's to the right of me. Has he, has he got, do I get the sense that he's got a beacon on me? Does he give me a perception check? Of course.
00:35:22
Speaker
Because technically, if you hadn't been purposefully sneaking, you would just- How's a crit? Shit. What a time to use 20- 23. Can't get that when you're pickpocketing me, can you? You're quite certain that this paraton has been beating, not you, but the situation going on with his three companions and your four companions.
00:35:43
Speaker
Okay. I would like to stealth to the back of that paratons rock. Cause he's facing out towards my comrades and I'm going to just shimmy on around the back and be like, I'm underneath his tail feathers on the, on the rocks on the ground below. Heads up. These are, as I say, kind of stone energy. So they're about 15, 20 feet tall in case you're trying a little stabby stab in the butt kind of thing. That's cool. That's fine. I, I, I still going to do it. Yep. Um, could you give me a stealth check, please?
00:36:12
Speaker
Yes, I can. Would be really bad if this... Oh crap, 11. Okay, you managed to move... Are you moving behind him, yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Someone's just kindly done it for me. That was me, apologies. The two gung-ho, is that cool? That's... You moved? You moved. If you're seen or not, I'll let you know. Anything else you want to do next?
00:36:37
Speaker
Yes, I'm going to climb that rock as well. So it took 25 feet of movement. I've got five foot. So I'm going to climb up five foot. So I'm clung on. Ready? Yep. You're five feet up in the air. I really wish that I was going before my rotor. That's the only point. It sounds directly the same.
00:36:57
Speaker
She failed, so you might as well go for it. Lovely. Right. Emron, your turn. You've just seen Marota, I don't know. It's like someone's just pressed all the buttons on Tekken. That's what you've just seen Marota do just in front of you as this first person was fallen to his death. What would you like to do? And how high up are they? 15 feet. Okay. And my spiritual weapon can't float up there to hit them.
00:37:23
Speaker
You tell me rules consultant. I don't know. I don't know. It doesn't say though though the general consensus was because it doesn't say it has a flying speed. I'd say no, but you know, yeah. Folly's book of bullshit would say it doesn't simply say you can't but you know. Shape earth spell. Well shape earth and you can move the ground. I don't have shape earth.
00:37:42
Speaker
Well, there you go, combo move, you need to work on. As it doesn't necessitate that it's flying, as you say, we'll keep it out. Yes, it just says floating, yeah, it's fine. You know, got to try and book a bullshit. I thought I'd just have a look at the brief book a bullshit at the back. I didn't try for the full chapter. Yeah, I believe it's a discount actually on D&D Beyond with Folly's book a bullshit. Yeah, you can buy different sections like independently. Amazing. Right, in that case,
00:38:08
Speaker
Enron is going to sort of swing his hammer around and then he's going to sort of almost like like it's some form of croquet hook or a bat and I'm going to cast guiding bolt at the one that Marota tried to grapple.
00:38:28
Speaker
Is that just a roll to hit? Yes, that's a 24 to hit. Fucking hell, guys. Yes, that does hit. You're rolling so well, all of you. Yes, it hits. And that's 16 points of radiant damage. Nice, my lord. It did not appreciate that as a big burn mark down its right flank as one of its claws shrivels up inside itself.
00:38:52
Speaker
It's worth knowing that any attack or the next attack against it before the end of my turn take my next turn to hazard advantage because it's now this dim glitchelling light around the peritone from where it's been struck by this bolt of radiant light. It's like aggressive fairy fire. Yeah. Nice. I like it. I like it. That's really good. Fuck man, that's a good spell. Jesus Christ.
00:39:18
Speaker
Cool, anything else you would do, M1, you got some movement?

Nyx in Periton's Grip

00:39:21
Speaker
As my bonus action, I am going to move the spiritual weapon closer to the paratons, but just sort of halfway between me and the paratons, just depending on where they move. Okay. And that's the end of my go. Brilliant, thanks very much. Right, it's the paratons turn.
00:39:46
Speaker
I'm right, the first couple of things are going to happen. Firstly, the paraton that's being abused by Marota and Emrom, as it's been hit by this, it's going to turn and as it's been kicked in the butt, turn with its other claw and try and grapple Marota. Another contested check against that. They got a 13 total. 17. Okay, not a problem. You might have to battle with the claw as it goes for you.
00:40:16
Speaker
Para-something that's next to it is going to very, very quickly do an about turn. There you go. God damn Max. I can't control him these days. So old. Right, there you go. And then it's going to fly directly towards Alpha.
00:40:36
Speaker
30 feet as it's moved 30 feet What is it? Towards a target then hits with the same melee weapon attack and deals an extra 2d8 damage. Cool. Okay, so I get it's a dive attack This is doing against you now because it's kind of coming down It's only covered 25 feet, but it's 30 in total because it's come down a little bit as well it's going to be a 18 to hit Me to be
00:41:01
Speaker
Flipping air, corset meets a beast, Jesus Christ. And we are going for... Oh, no, sorry. Yes, I did add that. Okay, fair enough. 1d8, five. You've got eight points of slashing damage.
00:41:19
Speaker
plus an additional 10 from the dive attack as its speed builds up. As the talons crash into you, the rest of its body thumps into you as well, hitting you, not knocking you prone, but that's yet 18 points of... You start with an open mouth, but you just hit my paraton for 16 points of damage with this bastard thing just now. I would wager these guys have more health than what we do. Yes, but there's more of you.
00:41:42
Speaker
There will be attacks like that continue. And you're smarter than them as well. Well, some of them are anyway. Right. And then with the remainder of its movement, it's going to... Bank.
00:41:58
Speaker
down to the south and gonna bank round over the trees building up a little bit of height again so it's again up about 15 feet and flying towards where Nyx and the Unbeknownst Paraton are currently sat. I know you're thinking Attack of Opportunity but Paraton does not provoke Attack of Opportunity when it flies in and out of an enemy's reach it's part of the fight. Yeah it's a similar creature that does it so I didn't think it would be. Yeah no worries but I thought I'd cover that anyway.
00:42:24
Speaker
That's those two. The other one is Dead, Ripped, Rest in Peace. The one that's over by Nyx. It's Perception, Beat Your Stealth, Nyx. So as you start to climb up, it notices you're moving, but lets you start to climb, turns around, and it's going to just pop off the edge. And it's a large outlet is coming down, boring down on you. It's going to try and grapple you and grab you in its massive claws. Could you make a strength check?
00:42:53
Speaker
Acrobatics or athletics check to fight against the grapple. Saving throw or just a normal check? Just a check. Is that right? Yes, check. Acrobatics. It got a 14. I got a 9.

Strategic Engagement

00:43:10
Speaker
Okay. You were grappled by the creature, grabbed in its claws. Has he taken flight?
00:43:18
Speaker
You're five feet in the air. It's come down 10 feet. It's grabbed you. It's got 60 feet of flight movement. 10 feet is already used. So I've got 50 feet of flights. I'm considering because you are a heavy load, we're halving the amount of height, the flight that it can move with you. Do it. Fly me. It's going to back up 10 feet.
00:43:44
Speaker
You're now 15 feet in the air, the height of these things, and it's going to fly 5, 10, 15 feet to the north, closer to its nest and to the very peak of the forefingers. Guys, it thinks I'm his baby. It's all right. You're outside of our light, so sit with us about that, we can't see you. Hello.
00:44:11
Speaker
I have the range, but I can't see! In fact, nobody can see you. Nobody can see your screen.
00:44:20
Speaker
Yes, that's it's turn. That's all that's going to do. And, oh, actually, no, it's not. It's going to use as bonus. It's going to use it's that was action. It's uses action. Nevermind the grapple. Sorry. I was going to say, I'll take a bonus, my action to them, a dash, but I've already used it. Unfortunately. So, uh, over to rains, rains, you have night vision, don't you? As an hour, half hour. I do have dark vision. Okay. So whether or not you would have noticed this or not, it's only up to 60 feet, isn't it?
00:44:51
Speaker
That's right, yeah. Oh no, you would not have seen this. No, nobody can see it. We just heard Nick's going, it thinks I'm its baby! Yeah. It thinks I'm its baby from a voice far off that sounds a bit like Nick's. Morota, again, techened it. It's on fire, kind of. It's glowing outline. What do you want to do? Oh, okay, interesting.
00:45:18
Speaker
Transmutation, and I'm going to take the Rubik's Key that's in my left hand, it's going to slot into a groove on the back of the right wrist, and it's just going to release steam from there, and then all of a sudden, glyphs of wings are going to start to appear on the boots of Rains' armor, and I'm going to cast Jump on myself for my action, and then as my bonus action, I'm going to look at this and go,
00:45:44
Speaker
Okay, this is gonna be stupid. NC activate contingency protocol two, and I'm going to use my bonus action to give myself free temporary hit points, which I can do equal to the amount of proficiency bonus that I have. And it grants me hit points equal to my level in this class, which is free temporary hit points. So you're now a big spring.
00:46:09
Speaker
Boing, boing. Well, I can't hit these things in this arm. I'm a slinky bitch. I have the means to get up to them. Good. Nice. I like it. Nice. Very good. Anything to do with your movement? I'm going to position myself next to Alpha.
00:46:35
Speaker
who I believe is there, between Emrom and Alpha. That's right. That's the end of my turn. Lovely. Thank you very much. Alpha, you've just been gored by this creature as it's come in and fly by a tactic, ripping out a good chunkier health and then flown off to the south of you towards where Nyx and the other peritone is. What do you want to do? Yep. Alpha's annoyed. That was a lot of damage and I had just freshly polished myself.
00:47:07
Speaker
I'm going to turn to my little beta cannon and say, beta, beta, shoot now. And yeah, my cannon is going to have a crack at trying to shoot the little parrot on the wine that hit me.
00:47:28
Speaker
That's a 13 to hit your gun needs like a bit of calibration dude. This is not my gun. This is my little beta cannon Yeah, that gun needs it was a 13 to hit a 13 to hit does say actually meets at base. Oh, sweet wasn't expecting that Well level three Are you yeah, yeah, yeah and that do ten points of
00:47:57
Speaker
force damage as this shock wager straight into him and he has to move back five feet as well. Is it away from you? Is that right? Sorry. Yeah, it's just away from me. It's like the force of the shock wager comes colliding with him. I moved it on a slight diagonal just because you are at a slight diagonal as well to keep it true to that. Our curiosity, how far up in the air is that creature at the moment?
00:48:27
Speaker
That one was 20. No, sorry, that one was 15. That one was 15 feet. That's right. I'm going to move 15 feet closer towards it. Just walking away from range a little bit. And I'm then going to take a shot with my pistol. Nice. Okay. So you're about 30 feet away. Yeah. For once you're shooting at it at range. Indeed. Which is unnatural 20 to hit. Nice. Yeah, that hits.
00:48:58
Speaker
and eight points of piercing damage it's very nice a shot fires and catching it just through the wing near the base of the shoulder joint bursting through it's still usable wing but yeah you can see it almost moonlight through the wound as the shot cracks out over the the deafening waves that rumble and roar from below the forefinger anything else you want to do
00:49:22
Speaker
Nope, Alfred's eyes are locked on this creature right now. Nice, Marota, you're stood directly beneath one of these paratons as a failed attempt to grapple it.

Thunderwave Disruption

00:49:30
Speaker
A bit 15 feet away, what do you want to do?
00:49:32
Speaker
So after that bit of an epic fail and then seeing Emron light it up, I'm going to do everything the same again, please. I'm going to climb the rock and leap across. But I'm going to style it just for flavor and make it look like a springboard. So I'm going to sort of sprint into the rock and then bounce off and try and then grab it that way.
00:49:52
Speaker
And there's ninja warrior things. Exactly. Exactly. And then while I'm like, like, momentum is taking me over it, I'm just gonna, with my whip now, at advantage, attempt to grapple. Moon salting this shit. Go for it.
00:50:05
Speaker
I think it's the next attack roll. It is an attack roll. I just don't do the damage, essentially, because it's an attack roll. 24 to beat on an acrobatics or athletics check. It rolled a natural one. Sweet. So it gives it four. Okay, so I don't do damage, but the thing is grappled.
00:50:25
Speaker
And then, while scrappled, on the next one, Will, or on all of them, till your turn. It's on the next attack wall against Target before the end of my turn, so that's it. That's two times it. Okay, sorry. All right, that's fine. So now essentially, I've sort of wrapped around its person, and I'm almost treating it like I'm flying it. Almost. I'm gonna just... Hmm. I didn't expect that to work straight away.
00:50:56
Speaker
I will. So while it's grappled, it can't move. So I mean, if it can't, I guess it slowly just descends, right? Well, if something without flying can't move, doesn't it fall? It would, yes. There's a rule that there's something about if a flying creature can't suddenly, if its speed is reduced to zero, it plummets from the sky. Yeah. I can double check that though. It depends, we can
00:51:25
Speaker
Grapple speed becomes zero. Can't benefit from being bonus to speed. Condition under the Grappler is incapacitated. The condition also ends with the effects. You can drive the Grappler with you. Yes, technically the speed is reduced to zero. So flying creatures fall just as fast as the creatures.
00:51:49
Speaker
And can I fight the grapple next round? Yeah, so on the end of the bird's turn, it can attempt to break out using the same contested. Yeah, okay. I'm going to assume it takes a round before it starts to fall. We've got some momentum coming up. You grabbed it before it starts to fall. It's just a d6 of damage, I guess. That makes sense, though. We'll go with that unless our consultant consults anything
00:52:16
Speaker
What I'll do for the remainder of my turn is I will spend a key point and enter patient defense. So I'm with one hand grappling this thing with the whip and the other I'm just like using it to balance and dodge anything else that's going to come my way. Nice, really nice. Great stuff. Thank you very much. Yeah, it falls unless it has the ability to hover is held all off by magic.
00:52:37
Speaker
So that happens straight away. Straight away. Okay, cool. So that'll happen. Well, it just says, if a flying creature is not prone, or has its speed reduced to zero, or is otherwise deprived of the ability to move, the creature falls. Cool. And that'll start from its turn. So from Paraton when it comes around next, which is three turns, three people's turns, time. Thanks for checking that, Will. Next, you're being dragged off by this creature. It's a contested grapple again, if you want to break it.
00:53:05
Speaker
I'm up in the air, aren't I? You are up in the air, 20 feet up. Yeah, no. So, Nix is after shouting out, it thinks I'm it's baby! Gonna rummage around in his neck, in his neck, over his neck and he's gonna pull out the small wooden whistle on a string that he got from raiding the jade blood drops and he's just gonna blow, blow down on that sucker.
00:53:32
Speaker
Very nice. I'm so glad I give you random shit because you come up with great ways of using it. Good stuff. Yeah, this shrill whistle echoes out across the bay, even through the cracks of thunder rumbling in the distance and the roaring ocean below. You hear this tweet, this high pitched shriek of a whistle blow out to the east from all four of you. Anything else you want to do?
00:53:55
Speaker
That was fucking genius, Ian. Good stuff. I'm glad I throw random stuff at you guys now. Emron, you hear the shrill whistle. You see Alpha walk off to the south to fight a paraton. You see Morota mount one to the north. What do you want to do? Morota's mounted that one, so it's probably not wise for me to shoot it down while she's attached to it. That wouldn't be very nice.
00:54:22
Speaker
Pardon? It would be good. No, it would

Aerial Combat Adjustments

00:54:24
Speaker
be really good. Go for it. No, everyone's not that mean. Not all the time, anyway. Everyone's gonna travel towards this shrill, annoying whistle that's being blown. You didn't say annoying. You didn't say annoying. Everyone's gonna travel towards this shrill, annoying whistle that's being blown.
00:54:47
Speaker
You're gonna move 30 feet there and as the glow of M1's hammer lights through the stonehenge around the pool I assume I see Nyx being held aloft by this creature. Yep Cool. I'm gonna cast guiding light again and try and shoot the creature. All right, roll to head. Let's carry Nyx You motherfucker I've got to get you down. I'm doing what I say, Nyx, Laura going, you son of a bitch
00:55:16
Speaker
Did you hear? No, no, no, don't shoot it! That's a 15 to hit. That hits. As Emmer again swings his hammer and like some kind of bat, a ball of light blasts out of his hammer towards the creature. And it takes, oh, only seven points of radiant damage. Okay, that's more like it, that's more like it, thank you. And the next attack against it is at advantage.
00:55:44
Speaker
There you go, okay, and this one smashes into its, it's kind of under, undercarriage side, narrowly missing its claws when Nyx finds himself entrapped within. Anything else you want to do, Emma? Bonus action, I'll move my spirit weapon 20 feet sort of towards the bird's nest, as it were.
00:56:07
Speaker
Thank you very much. And that's the end of my game. The first paratons turn, the paratons closest to Alpha is going to bank quickly on itself. These things are incredibly agile for what seems quite a weighty animal in the sky and is going to fly down towards Alpha. It's going to get to Alpha and it's going to try and pick you up. It's going to grapple you, Alpha. So it's going to be a contested strength, athletics or acrobatics check, please, Alpha. I'm a heavy motherfucker. How heavy?
00:56:36
Speaker
Right. We'll talk about that in a second. Okay. I got a 15, well, 15 in total. I got a six. You are grasp. How heavy are we talking? I weigh... Ridiculous weight. Not ridiculous weight. I think it was about 300 pounds. That's ridiculous. I am quite heavy. I am quite heavy. I'm heavier than a normal person. That's the big show right there.
00:57:07
Speaker
Depends how big these creatures are. Because you made up some shitty stat about Folly's backpack as well, if I remember right. Are you heavier than the backpack? I'm not heavier than the backpack, no, definitely not heavier than the backpack. The creatures are medium, so they are the same size as you, body wise, and I guess the wings are longer. It can pick itself up. It's got a strength of 16. It's got a plus three modifier. I think it would be fine in all fairness.
00:57:36
Speaker
uh carrying uh your strength carry capacity your carrying capacity is your strength score multiplied by 15 this is in the weight of pounds that you can carry but that's for that's for players when they're carrying equipment um you can push drag or lift a weight in pounds up to twice your carrying capacity so whatever it's carrying capacity is doubled okay we can lift you yeah yeah yeah i'm son of a bitch anything else
00:58:07
Speaker
No, I think, I mean, I probably also treat this as, yeah, more than half, and then we're gonna go quarter speed once picked you up because I think you are heavier, much heavier than Nix. And if Nix is moving half speed, then I think you'd move a quarter speed, I think, for that. So you're grasped, you're grabbed, that's 10 feet of movement, I have 50 feet in total. I'm quartering that, so let's say 15,
00:58:32
Speaker
Ish feet in which case he's just gonna Try and fly up trying to realize how heavy you are grab and pull you 15 feet up into the sky So you are you are exactly where you are stood at the moment You're scrambled and you're 15 feet up as it tries to kind of realize a shit. This is heavy and lift you up That's that one. Yeah, I'm wrote to the one against you and is I guess going to plummet towards the ground

Battle Momentum: Thunder Gauntlet

00:59:00
Speaker
and hit it. Thud. You both take one point of thudding damage as you both fall and hit the ground. It falls prone. It falls prone. Sorry, just to clarify the rules I misspoke earlier, it has to use its action if it wants to attempt to break out the grapple. It can try and just use its actions regular, but to break the grapple it needs to use an action. I kind of imagine Maraud to like death hugging this creature as it falls to the ground. I can roll for the grapple before it falls.
00:59:29
Speaker
Um, it was, well, it depends what happens first. Anything that's flying is immediately loses its speed. Yeah. Uh, you could also leave it grappled and it can attack me. It still has the freedom of the action. It's just, it has to spend an action to attempt to break the grapple, but it can do other actions.
00:59:46
Speaker
Yeah, okay, so as it's gonna fall, it's gonna fall because I imagine the whip's got around the wings and it's pulled it in, it's gonna use its jaws and teeth in the mouth to try and bite at you. Now, I know you've got patient defense, haven't you? Disadvantage. Disadvantage, I mean, I got two and then a six, so that's gonna be seven to hit. Just gonna be a miss, I assume. Good, good, good. It bites at you and you're ready for it. You dodge one side, dodge the other, and it can't make an attack against you.
01:00:13
Speaker
Thud hits the ground, you take a point, I take a point, it's prone and you are still grappling it as well, I imagine, aren't you as well? The ground wasn't broken. That's its turn. The one with Nyx.
01:00:25
Speaker
60 feet of movement halved and 15 feet up. We're going to fly an additional 15 feet up. You're now 30 feet in the air and we're going to go five, 10, 15 feet. This creature starts to list towards the edge. It's dropping you off the cliff mate. That is its turn.
01:00:52
Speaker
Oh, shit, no, it can. I can use my next, I haven't done an action. My action is to dash. Well, we're going to fly an additional 15 feet up into the sky. We are 45 feet up and another... What's its flying speed? Forward, 60. So it's half to 30, isn't it? Oh, sorry. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. 15 feet up, 15 feet forward. Sorry. Yeah, but I've done it twice because I'm using the action to dash.
01:01:22
Speaker
it's moving towards the tip of the finger.
01:01:25
Speaker
It's almost at the edge. We're talking five, 10 feet away from the edge of it. And how far up in the sky am I? Currently 45 feet up in the sky. And what's the damage thing if I was to fall? That's 4d6. And it can go to a maximum of 20d6, though once you start falling from a certain height, the DM can go, yeah, that's... Yeah, no, 4d6, enough to kill. I'm okay, you know? Yeah, this is... Baby mama, let's go.
01:01:56
Speaker
And I didn't say it's dropping you, by the way. Someone else said that. So play with that one. I have not. I'm not. I assume it's taking me to its nest and going to prune and treat me. I think the nest is those parlour bones, isn't it? Yes, that is the nest. Yeah. That's the end of the paratoms terms.
01:02:17
Speaker
One is grappled to the ground, one has grappled alpha, one is flapping off with Nyx off to the east. Always to the east, to quote Diablo II. Rains, it's over to you, my man. Banks away. Okay, so, Rains is going to... Notice the one that's hit the deck next to Marota.
01:02:43
Speaker
That's where Ranger's attention has been. Is he aware of what's happening behind him to Alpha? I mean, you said it's behind you, so unless...
01:02:53
Speaker
That's fair. No, I'm just playing this. I'm trying to figure out how I have to play this. So what Reigns is going to do then is he's going to focus on the FUD that's happened the other side. Sorry, you also would have heard the whistle and the screams from Nix to the East as well. That would have definitely been audible to you. And in kind of your peripheral vision as you look towards Morota, it's just the stuff with them ones behind you and
01:03:13
Speaker
That's fine. Rains hears, screens coming off his periphery. He looks over there, then all of a sudden he hears the thud of one of these hit the floor and he thinks, right. Holds up the Rubik's Cube and he says to himself, he's just going to pull down on his wrist and I have to get in the Roman Rains reference at some point. And he's just going to acknowledge me and run towards the one that's near Marota.
01:03:44
Speaker
He's going to say as he goes.
01:03:47
Speaker
Time to fly. And he's going to jump, which isn't actually that impressive because my height jump is three plus my strength modifier, which is minus one. But I get to triple that thanks to jump. So he jumps roughly about six feet in the air and goes, ah,

Climactic Thunderwave

01:04:03
Speaker
flight's not working. Flight's not working. Lands next to this creature, looks at it and goes, hey, and then just smacks it with the thunder gauntlet. Nice. What are we talking then? At advantage because it's prone and grappled.
01:04:17
Speaker
And you're doing a Superman punch. Captain Falcon Falco punch in my head. Okay. First roll coming in now. You say you have to do a Roman Reigns reference. The character is literally called Reigns. That's why I have to do it. Um, it was a 18 and a five. So I'll take the 18 as it's with advantage. And it's going to take.
01:04:51
Speaker
Not an impressive amount of damage. Four points of thunder damage as I crash into this creature. You hear bones audibly crack underneath as something in its tail snaps and blood starts to leak down from its rear.
01:05:07
Speaker
As that happens, just rumble the thunder, just reverberates around this creature's ears, and it now has disadvantage if it tries to attack anyone other than me. Wow. That's very cool. Thank you very much, Rains. Anything else you want to do, mate? Nope. Let's be done. Alpha, you're grappled. What do you want to do, buddy? Well, firstly, my beta cannon is going to keep following my last instruction, and it's just going to let loose another Force Ballista shot.
01:05:36
Speaker
Is it on your shoulder? Yes, it is on my shoulder. So is it a disadvantage because of the range? It probably would be, yes, but it's still going to try. But I wouldn't mention that unless you ride up with a bloody spook of bullshit. I'm just joking. And I was going to say the same thing. I was hoping that Callum would say it, you know,
01:05:57
Speaker
I am a disadvantage because I'm currently chest to chest with a large bird. Yeah, pretty much. Well, I rolled 2d20 and I got 8 on both and then it's modified. So that's double check. You say I rolled a d20. I rolled a d20 twice.
01:06:18
Speaker
I roll 2d20, I've got 8 on both, so to hit even at this range, it's going to be 13. That does hit. Even with disadvantage, point blank. For a whopping 9 points of force damage. That's pretty good man, that's pretty pretty good.
01:06:39
Speaker
fire this thing straight in the chest as it cuts through and you can see the ribs underneath it kind of pulsing in as it screams out in agony as it continues to try and lift alpha. Anything else you want to do, Alpha? How do you want to do the movement thing? Because I hit it, it's got to take five feet worth of movement, technically back, but the angle wouldn't particularly work. Up, it goes up.
01:07:02
Speaker
Okay, I'm really going to make this decision. If a creature if an effect removes the grapple creature from the reach of the grapple or grapple effect, I don't know whether that would have an impact whether the creature keeps hold of
01:07:17
Speaker
Oh, good point. So it's almost like a concentration check. So it states, the condition also, this is about grappled. The initial auto-end of an effect removes the grappled creature from the reach of the grappler. Because it says that, I would imagine not. That talks about moving alpha rather than the creature. Yeah. Yeah. But I do see what you mean, though, about it would push... Is he forced away? Yeah. Well, let's do a strength check on it. Oh, shit, man. Roll a three.
01:07:45
Speaker
Yeah, so I'm going to say it actually does break the grapple because I rolled a three for strength so it loses as the shot of this beta cannon fires into it. It pushes itself away five feet out of range. It can't stay in contact with you and holding you. So you and your little cannon and the paraton are ripped apart and you head towards the ground. How far up was I?
01:08:11
Speaker
15 feet Okay, do you want me to do the damage first or will you let me do something on the way down on the way down because I'm nice cools As he lets go Alpha's eyes are gonna start glowing red again His chest is gonna start glowing orange, but you're gonna see huge energy sparks just flying off of him and
01:08:38
Speaker
In sheer annoyance, I'm casting Thunderwave at this creature. Thunder. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a constitution saving throw. You're a dick. I'm wrong. I am sorry. Beta, that's also the paraton.
01:09:05
Speaker
I rolled a 4 for the Constitution saving throw at the paraton. I've got a 15 with Amron. I rolled a 10. Does your thing have to take a... No, that's my cannon. That's my cannon I'm rolling for with the 10, so he's failed. Will, you pass. So you only take half damage of this.
01:09:30
Speaker
Canon takes full takes half damage for 14 points. Oh Still up just Probably lightning damage would have been Would that have knocked your ass down? I think it's force damage in it that could have killed that couldn't could have nearly put me down That has probably killed beta. That's an it. I'm assuming
01:09:54
Speaker
No, he has one hit point remaining, so the fall damage will kill the cannon. And the paraton literally dissolves from the fourth. All it becomes is a puff of feathers and bones up into the air as it has been decimated. You fall, the cannon takes a hit.
01:10:13
Speaker
Enron takes half damage. It is five points of bludgeoning damage from the fall for you and for Beta Cannon.

Nyx's Dire Situation

01:10:21
Speaker
That time Beta hits the ground and just smashes into tiny pieces. There is also a thunderous boom that is audible to 300 feet that comes out from the US Ambassador. For the next time you create that cannon, it's going to have to be the Charlie Cannon and you have to go through the Alpha Bay.
01:10:41
Speaker
we'll get to like the omnicron cannon yeah what's the we'll skip that one let's get that one absolutely no what's the sea of a creek alpha beta no i don't know delta in delta abd into alpha beta gamma delta
01:10:57
Speaker
I know you figure it out. It's alpha, beta, gamma. And then you take five points of damage as well, which means that as I hit the ground, I go boom. You could have nearly wiped out half the party with that spell. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I hit the ground with a thunderous boom and I am down.
01:11:19
Speaker
I've took a bird with me, I don't care. Okay, okay, okay, Alpha, nice. Morota, over to you. You hear this massive clap of thunder from, like, super close. It feels like the storm is suddenly on you, twice. These two massive bangs as rain appears off your peripheral after greeting the bird and then a second one further away to the south and the squawk of a bird disappearing. What do you want to do?
01:11:45
Speaker
And I'm right in thinking the bird that is grappling nicks is lit up in guiding bolt. Is that right? Yes. Okay. I'm going to just perceive that as this outline of this bird illuminates and then this dangling body of nicks. I don't think it emits light as an alight source.
01:12:09
Speaker
so it's not beyond 60 feet. It just gives you- So I can't see it. It doesn't mention emitting. You know when something, say, emits a light source, it just says it's glittering so it makes it easier to hit if you can see it? Sorry. Don't have advantage anyway because I can't see it. Yeah. Okay. Well, it depends how Mark wants to rule it because you've got advantage. If you've got something that shoots beyond your reign of sight, the advantage was discount the disadvantage of shooting at normal.
01:12:40
Speaker
If you follow me. Yes. So I can, well, basically I've got a regular attack on it because it's, I can't see it, but we have a vantage on it. So yeah. How about this? It's nighttime. It's a straight roll. Yes. Well, on a normal situation, you're right. Like, um, it just illuminates a slight area. It's 45 feet up in the air. It's twinkling in the darkness. Just for the storytelling sake. Let's say that that is the thing you can see, which allows you to shoot it.
01:13:10
Speaker
I mean, that means visible. You can shoot unseen things at disadvantage. Yeah, and your spell makes it advantage, so a straight roll. So yeah, for how this kind of looks for me to visualise it, I can see you can't see the creature, you can just see a small, like, twinkly light of trail, and you can assume that's the thing that you just see. Don't hit me, motherfucker.
01:13:33
Speaker
Don't you hit me. So if I'm going to have straight roll anyway, there's no way of getting advantage, then I'm just going to stay one foot on the neck of this bird. I'm going to produce my boomerang and I'm just going to lob it as far as I can.
01:13:49
Speaker
in the direction and attempt to hit the bird. As I do, I'm going to spend my bonus action to use Ken's size shot so I can do an extra default or damage with the boomerang. But it's straight 120 at disadvantage. So because it's already balanced out with Will's spell, so it's a regular roll.
01:14:10
Speaker
Wait a minute, because it's already double disadvantage. There's no such thing as double. So if something has advantage, something has disadvantage, it's just a straight roll. You can have 10 stacks of disadvantage and one of advantage. It's still a straight roll. It's not like the two cancel out, leaving one remainder. Yeah. So there's no point in me getting any closer. I appreciate it. For a 19 to hit with a boomerang. Sweet. So this is doing 2d4. Oh, God.
01:14:39
Speaker
I'll add another d4 onto that, so that's 6 plus... 7 points of bludgeoning damage. 6 plus 7 or 6 plus 1. Sorry, 7 total. Cool, gotcha. Thank you very much. You just hear a loud squawk. Nix, you feel the top of the bird kind of shake slightly.
01:14:59
Speaker
stopped blowing holes in my bird. It continues to fly from Nix, from your perspective. Thank you very much. I will... I am going to use all my movement and abandon the bird that I'm stood on and head in the direction of where Nix's bird is. I'm flying King Travel 35. 40 feet.
01:15:27
Speaker
Go one more square. Thank you. Yeah, that's my turn. You're gonna need every square you can get next. Does the creature get attack of op?
01:15:38
Speaker
Well, yeah, it's not grappled anymore. Yeah, it would. Thank you. Yeah. Disadvantaged because it's not trying to attack me. Yeah. True. 15. Yeah. 15 against your AC. Nyx. Nyx. Sorry. I'm a roter. Apologies. I will use Agile Parry, so it misses. Nice. As it reaches out with its claw to catch you, just rip it round with the whip and yank the claw out of the position, knocking out as you sprint off in the direction.

High Altitude Struggles

01:16:05
Speaker
No, sorry correction it hits it hits I didn't use an unarmed attack it hits as the whip rips round it pulls you back in and rips at your face one time Four points of slashing damage as it catches you across the shoulder blade as you run away from it, okay? Right here we go next 45 feet up the Gulf of the sea is
01:16:30
Speaker
I just set off my Alexa. I don't know how, I didn't say any words that sound like my cool word. The gulf of the sea below you beckons 45 feet up, 100 feet down from the top. I'm above the sea or I'm still above rocks? You are above rocks, 45 feet up, but only 10 feet away is the 150 foot drop down into the ocean below.
01:16:55
Speaker
Okay, well, I still want to overtake the ocean. So, Nix is going to reach up and grab onto the talons that are holding him. And so, just in case this bird falls, at least the Nix is basically making sure that the bird doesn't let go. You're going to hang glider this bad boy. I'm not going to, I can't control, I assume, but he's just reaching up because he doesn't want this bird to let go. Does that count? Can Nix now, is that kind of Nix trying to grapple the bird?
01:17:24
Speaker
Just gonna hold on. All I want to do is make sure that if this bird gets pissed off and decides to go, no more, I can hold. I can just like, no, I'm fucking here now. Is that not grappling?
01:17:39
Speaker
You are grappling with it. Is that not Nick's literally trying to hook? Because when the creature lets go, it'll become a grapple. How about this? How about this, Nick? Or not. I say we use it as this. Oh, God. I love this while I'm flying. It always tests the boundaries of the rules in D&D. You could hold an action, which could be if. No, because I've got something else to do. I suppose the moment the creature choose to let go, Nick's choose to grapple it.
01:18:08
Speaker
which could, in theory, drop its meme to the hook. That's called hold an action, though. I ain't going to have a hold an action, so. OK. Because if I couldn't do that, that's fine. Or you can take an action to hold on. Thank you very much. I'm flying off the book. So because Nix is also shitting himself, and earlier he felt like he was splitting in two, he's going to cast accidentally silent image. Everyone's going to watch a version of Nix fall down. That's the end of my go.
01:18:36
Speaker
Well, none of us can see it, apart from maybe Miranda. I know, but it doesn't matter. There's a silent image of me, and I assume it can't fucking fly. So it's going to fall. Imagine someone farting because they're worried, nervous, they're tooting. Nix is basically looking down. He's fucking scared, guys. And accidentally, he's going to split into two because he's been firing spells.
01:19:02
Speaker
throughout this campaign accidentally. Silent Image is a new one. This is how it first comes out. Okay. Thank you very much for your Silent Image falling, which I think is only Marota will see.

Alpha's Peril and Revival

01:19:14
Speaker
Emron, you've just seen Marota sprint towards where your guiding bolt attack has hit the creature. What do you want to do?
01:19:26
Speaker
I've also had alpha fall unconscious and be on bathing throws, same throws behind me.
01:19:34
Speaker
So everyone's, because everyone's only on, everyone's only got three health points left. Let's just remind ourselves, so you've got something you've created, so I'm covering my mouth with my t-shirt, and something you've created behind you, power down, that is like part of your life that came over. And the thorn in my side.
01:19:56
Speaker
there's Nick's corral falling to the to the to the northeast of you though you are in your eyes his all in terms of purposes his patron shit okay one direction what are you gonna do wonder it's one choice this becomes so intense no everyone can do this everyone is going to
01:20:25
Speaker
move 30 feet towards Marota and nix's direction. But then he's going to turn over his shoulder and just as a pool of light from his hammer is is is pooling around Alfa's body. He's going to turn and go a little flame is with you. I'm going to cast Healing Word which has a range of 60 feet.
01:20:47
Speaker
On to Alpha. Brilliant. As a bonus action. I wanted that to go a different way. So Alpha gets four points of healing back. Nice, you're back up, Alpha. Stop hating the support of your friends and allies, Alan. No, I'm glad it's alive, but it's something I wanted to do. There we go. Deal with it. Die. Die again. You've used a bonus action, you've got another action, haven't you? I have, so I'm then going to use
01:21:18
Speaker
a dash to move another 30 feet sort of out towards the edge just so either I don't know if he's still alive or maybe try and catch him at some point or whatever. I don't know. Okay. But everyone's got to do something to try and, you know,
01:21:39
Speaker
He's been told to try and show this person how to live. The M1's dashed into towards where this creature is, ball of light around him as the hammers are glowing.
01:21:50
Speaker
on the tip of a jutting out rock over looking the ocean in Sleetgard. The dark seas tumult below. The storm is now well and truly followed, though the thunderclaps come from the mortals. The storm is now upon us as well as it starts to rain and the clouds swirl above you. It's all getting very biblical, lads.

Storm's Tension

01:22:11
Speaker
The first paraton, the one nearest terrains, is going to realize it's free now after taking a lash out. It's just going to pivot.
01:22:19
Speaker
Stand up and take its attack against Rains. First attack against it is a 9 against your armor class. That misses. Second one is a 15 against your armor class. That misses. Oh lordy lordy. Both attacks missed. Not happy with that. It's then going to...
01:22:40
Speaker
fly off. I've used half my movement to get up. So I've got 30 feet and we're going to go five feet up, 45 feet away. You will get an attack of opportunity with this. I do. Sorry. Okay. I'm going to take it. Well, I believe you. Let me just check. Let me just check. I believe it's your thing was about it. Sorry. You don't, sorry. You don't program opportunity when it flies out of an enemy's reach. Apologies. I thought it was if I did a fly by attack. Um,
01:23:08
Speaker
But no, that means you just don't get an attack of opportunity against her. Sorry, Darren. It's flying out towards where our last remaining paraton of friend is, which is the one that's holding Nyx over. And it flies literally over the heads of Marota, about five, 10 feet above it. Sorry, it, above Marota. It's still within your range, Marota. So it hasn't flown through you, so you don't get an attack of opportunity yet. And we pass over to the final paraton, the one that holds up Nyx.

Nyx's Fall

01:23:37
Speaker
And with its movement, it is going to level out 45 feet, and it's going to use all its movement to move 30 feet because it's halved because it's carrying nicks out to sea. You're 20 feet out of the rocks over the ocean. It is going to then try and let go. Motherfucker!
01:24:00
Speaker
Is there anything you were kind of holding on? I assumed I was just flavoring, you had your action, which was? I was trying to hold on, but I couldn't do both a hold and the silent image. So I went with the silent image. So I'm an Amazon package just ready to be dropped. Drone delivery. Let's go. Yup. And you fall. Yup. You fall slowly at first. Oh. I think.
01:24:32
Speaker
So it falls on its turn, right? It falls on Nick's turn. No. If it's an initiative. Yeah, and it's, gosh, I should look this up. 30 feet per turn.
01:24:51
Speaker
Well, you said it was 150 feet above the water level. Yeah. Or is that how high the finger is? That's how high the tip of the finger is down to the... And you said it was 45 feet above the ground level. So that's 195. Did you just say it's gone another 45? No, it's just gone directly. I leveled out at 45. So it's 195 feet up. That's right. So it's 500 feet per round. So at the end of the round,
01:25:22
Speaker
He would have fallen 500 feet. Yep. Okay, we have to look at that. And that's the end of your go. At the end of her round. Yeah. Because each round, rather than... With rather than... 500 feet per round, it says in Xanathar. So that's per... Yeah. So that's the end of your go. Yep. Yeah, so basically... Well, it's the next time the bird comes round, isn't it? No, no. Well, no. Each round is different.
01:25:51
Speaker
Isn't it? It's round. I don't know. I thought a round is a round of combat and everybody has to turn in the round. That's why. Let's play it this way because it's great a bit of both unless we hear something definitive either way. Let's go the end of this round as in Marota at the bottom of the round next to the start of the next round. What I will do just for Flava. Because each round represents six seconds in the game world. During a round each participant in a battle takes a turn. Yeah.
01:26:19
Speaker
And Nix has already had his turn in the round. The paratorn's taken their turn, so Rains, Alpha, Marota will get a turn, and I will give Nix a final turn just because he's falling. So how far away from...
01:26:35
Speaker
20 feet. From the edge is he now? Is he 45 feet further on? Yeah, he's 45 feet. We're 45 feet up, we're 10 feet away from the edge. We then flew 30 feet. This is like a maths GCC question, except it's easier. Maths, we flew 30 feet. So we're 10 feet on land, 30 feet. So we're 20 feet out in the ocean above the ocean at this point. As you start to fall from 45 feet down,
01:27:01
Speaker
It works also because Reigns' Alpha Morita, in that time, we're probably going to, in my mind, fall 45, 50 feet, which would mean you're the only people who would be able to have a chance to grab him before he can continue falling down. So, with that in mind, Reigns. Darren is very, very upset that I took jump over Featherfall right now. Yeah, I was thinking about it when I was like,
01:27:27
Speaker
So, but all Rains can do is just turn towards this creature that's just flown off and gone. And see, we got a runner, because again, Rains is still unaware that this is happening. Yeah, can't see, can he? Yeah. And Rains is just going to move towards the peloton. So he gets to there and he's going to go and NC is going to fly out the bag of holding and he's going to shoot first.

Magic Missile Strike

01:27:55
Speaker
Four.
01:28:01
Speaker
Raised the hitter first. NC rolls an 11 to hit. That misses, unfortunately. The shot fires off over the top of the creature.
01:28:12
Speaker
Yeah, that happens. I have performance issues from time to time myself. Anyway, my turn and what's going to happen is all the little magic NCs are going to appear on the back of the forearm again and Rains is just going to let another magic missile go towards this creature that is flying away from him. Alright, that's a direct hit straight away with magic missile. It certainly is.
01:28:40
Speaker
I mean, if you roll anything more than bullshit, you've killed this thing. Ooh, I roll max damage for 15 points of force damage as these ethereal NCs are made out of complete force magic just crash into this peloton.
01:29:00
Speaker
Peloton is the bike race. Paraton is what you're talking about. I'd love to face the GB squad. Take that, middle class gym wear. Yeah. Sorry, I picked a creature with a really stupid name. Anyway, these shots fire in and you see the shots zip round the creature and they zip in round the front of it as all the shots smash into the face of this creature and it just nosedive down right off Barota's left shoulder.
01:29:27
Speaker
They're very much like the whistling birds and the Mandalorian when they come up and they just fly off in all directions and then just zoom in on the target. I was thinking more of what's his name's dart in Guardians of the Galaxy. Oh, Yondi, Yondi. I was sort of imagining...
01:29:43
Speaker
how to run little kamikaze ncs just yeah yeah they always pull the goggles down before they take flight and then pull their helmet and then from worms god so many references wow good luck if you kept that one yeah yeah there's a lot of different things all mashed up in there so apologies as that as that happens the final part of Reins's turn is for his heart to sink as he finally cottons on to what's happening unable to do anything about it as he sees well no we're further than that distance
01:30:13
Speaker
Oh, but I don't see it. Okay. It's another 30 feet beyond that this way. He's about 95 feet. Okay. I don't see it. Yeah. Raines just watches this thing for crap. Here's a scream. Yeah. Alpha, your turn. You power back up. Windows Vista has loaded. Alidos fires are in you. I assume I'm not.
01:30:37
Speaker
Well, I don't think I've seen or heard any of what's gone off with the whole bird, have I?

Alpha's Disorientation

01:30:42
Speaker
No, mate. You've just fully undertaken it and just sat up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's kind of how I picture it. I'm just going to sit up. I'm going to take a moment, look around, and for want of a better phrase, I'm just going to start walking towards the lights. I see no more birds. I just see marota in the light. Probably rains just on the edge of it. And yeah, I'm just going to casually walk towards the light. I'm not doing anything.
01:31:07
Speaker
walk towards the light. I would have been saved from the light once. I can actually get inside just the light that comes off M. Rob's hammer.
01:31:20
Speaker
Bottom of the range. Morata, your turn. What would you like to do? I'm silently smiling because I can save Nyx. Yeah, you can. It's really straightforward. Whip. But I'm going to make it look epic as hell. Yeah, yeah. So I'm going to, at this point where I see the bird drop, assuming the light radius is enough for me to see the drop as well. My light radius is... It's 60 foot. It's another 20 foot over the... Yeah, you can't see. Yeah, it is. That bird is still...
01:31:49
Speaker
Got him. That bird's still up. The bird that had Nick's. The bird's alive. Just Nick's. I'm only looking at Nick's. Oh yeah, Nick's is definitely not a bird.

Morota's Rescue Attempt

01:32:00
Speaker
I'm going to just, this sprint that I started last round to get across the map, I'm going to just kick in my step of the wind and I'm going to double my movement and double, more importantly, my jump distance. And what I'm going to do is I will just, as I'm going to run past, I'm going to almost leapfrog past Emron in a
01:32:24
Speaker
I don't know which Avengers movie this is, but when someone jumps off Captain America's shield and does like a nose dive, I'd like to just drop my rope that I've got out from the point of the run. So there's one end of the rope with Will. I'm sorry, with him. And then with my 20 foot of jump and you said, Nick's is 20 foot out, I'm going to be able to grapple him with my action.
01:32:50
Speaker
You're a willing creature, you don't have to contest the grapple and I can automatically succeed. But don't I have to actually how might go? If the maths works out, rest assured, I'm a willing creature. Okay. Because you just dropped a rope at your feet. How long is it? We need a quick reaction here. Right, let's work through a couple of rows. 15 foot of rope. You said it was simple. Five zero. Five zero. Well, I've got you. I've got you. You're grappled. I've got you. And there's a rope back to land.
01:33:18
Speaker
And you assuming everyone decides to grab it. I have my end. I dropped one on the way on the while running. Yeah, because it would be this would be interact with objects around you, which is a few things I can do on my movement and action. So yeah. Can I hold you? Yeah, that's right. We've got Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Well, but but at the end of the round, you fall 500 feet. So you fall before I can grab the rope.
01:33:47
Speaker
My go isn't till the next round. That will be the rules, Will. That is the rules. Well, I'm happy for you to home run. I want to do a little bit just for drama. Because it's 50 foot. I thought if it was a 25 foot, nah, not a fucking chance, mate. 50 foot rope makes me think we could get to Enrom. Now, there's going to be, it's going to be like a mini skill challenge to pull this off, Danny, if that's OK. However, very few of the rules actually involve you.
01:34:19
Speaker
I'm just writing them down now, so that happens. No pressure, yeah. At this point, I am out 20 foot in the air holding Nix with a rope attached to me. I sort of imagine you're like, yeah, this is going to be like Captain America holding on to the side of a cliff and a helicopter now, isn't it? Yeah, this is either going to be glorious. How much do you weigh, Morotun? Oh, I am super light. How much do you weigh, Nix?
01:34:49
Speaker
Oh man, I am a twig. I'm a five, six, seven twig. How much does all your gold weigh? Tiefling. What is your weight to carry? A thin tiefling. No, because you also carry a weight. I don't know. How would I know? On your inventory. Yeah. Go to your inventory and it should set the top. Weight carried. £15. Really, including your money? Wow. No, you have to do a special thing if you want to include the money and the weight.
01:35:18
Speaker
Oh, the weight cap. Sorry. 24.46 pounds. Yeah. I am 22 pounds. Is that your weight? And then what's your weight? The weight carried is... Oh, right. You guys worked that out. Give me a second. And I just need to... Then you need to do your character weight. Ian, have you worked out your... 207 pounds. Cool. 207 Marota. 160 pounds.
01:35:48
Speaker
which gives you 367 pounds of carried material. And M1's lifting weight is 420 pounds. Boy can bench a lot. Boy can bench. Okay. I did have another thing I could do, Mark, depending on the skill challenge. What is it? Tell me it first and then I'll adjust accordingly. Well, it depends whether this needs to get added up. Because don't forget, I can give myself a flying speed.
01:36:12
Speaker
Oh, and we'll, we'll hold that. Cool. Thank you. I'll just, I just didn't know whether it was an option on your thing, but yeah. It depends on how this goes and depends on how you play it. Yeah. Theoretically. Okay. Okay. It's up to you.
01:36:28
Speaker
Right. There are a number of things that take place all at the same time. The rope appears, Marota jumps, Marota you grab hold of next, next you are grabbed by Marota. That is one half. We've got, um, Emma on the side. Emma and I, we need two rolls from you and then Marota, we need one roll from you. Okay.
01:36:44
Speaker
And then from those roles, I will not tell you what DC I need. I'll just tell you what I need. And then I will tell you what happens through that thing. Okay. I've already set the DCs for these. Oh, and then sorry, the last one. I'm going to need one from Nix as well.
01:37:02
Speaker
There's still a lot that can go wrong with me. I am nervous as hell right now. My arms are going tensely. These weak arms are heavy. But there are four things that all need to go right. I mean, this is a fucking... I mean, you say this is relatively easy. This is... Yeah, this is complicated. This is gonna look awesome. Yeah, we have to pause the order of combat as this mini skill challenge of four things are gonna take place. It's gonna go M1, M1, Morota, Nyx.
01:37:29
Speaker
So the first thing I need is Nix, sorry, Emron, I need you to make a dexterity check, please. What is that, a saving throw, acrobatics, sleight of hand, what are you wanting? What do you want me to do? I need you to notice the ropus there and using your reflexes grab it. So that would be what, sleight of hand? Let's go with sleight of hand.
01:37:55
Speaker
Or, I mean, yeah. I mean... I would say deck saving frame sounds like the more... I mean, it's minus one either way. What about your deck saving frame? Minus one. Okay, let's go with that then. Let's go with the deck saving frame. Okay. I guess it is, yeah, of course it was really the same. It's ten? Okay, thank you. Um... Oh, dear. The next three rolls are obsolete, unfortunately.
01:38:22
Speaker
It was a 13 to pass and you reach out for the rope. And as you reach out, maybe Marota had tied a coil. It was uncoiled slightly in a move, slightly just as you grabbed it, but you reach out for it and the rope disappears from your hands, Marota.
01:38:44
Speaker
You start to fall, you grab hold of Nyx, Nyx holds on to you, you grab the rope, and you wait for that moment where suddenly the rope will become taut again, and it doesn't come. And it doesn't come. We have people wanting to say things. Go ahead, Morita. Yeah, go on, Nyx, you went first. I have a spell, but this is going to have to be, maybe, I'll just say it, and it might be in Edges now, I don't know.
01:39:14
Speaker
The spells in my book that's attached around Will's neck and it's mage hand. So I didn't know if that could grab the rope.
01:39:26
Speaker
and pass it back. But I'm unaware that I have Mage Hand. I have yet to look at the book. Not only that, but the Mage Hand has a limit of about £5 or something like that. Did not realise that. But if the rope's slack, then the rope's not weighted until it talks.
01:39:45
Speaker
I'm imagining in that split second, as he reaches out, the rope has become at its full length, given that it's supposed to be going at 500 feet per round and just come out. I was talking that first roll which is reflexes. Plus, I haven't looked at the book, so that would, yeah. Okay, cool, cool. I thought, given what might happen if I didn't say it, you know, done it. Thank you. I mean, I've got an O for DM or permit depending on what happens.
01:40:12
Speaker
Come on, where's my bullshit book? I need it. Okay, so as we're falling, are we still quite close to the cliff edge? Is there still jagged rocks and stuff like that? The finger sits out above the cliff. There's nothing there. You've got to walk all the distance you walk to the edge of the cliff. You are jutted out way beyond the cliff. So once you missed that initial 15, 30 feet of rock,
01:40:38
Speaker
It's just air. Okay. Then I would like to prepare to do something given that we are hurtling quite quickly to the water. Um, I would like to try and position myself. So I am now underneath next.
01:40:51
Speaker
And I want to just get to the point where maybe, maybe 10 feet before impact, all of my strength and momentum just like pushes Nick up to make some reverse momentum so that when he hits the water, he's hitting relatively lightly in comparison. Do you understand? So like a proper, like all my body just pushes him against the force in the hopes that it softens the blow for him on impact. Okay.
01:41:18
Speaker
No problem. Was there anything else that anyone else wanted to do before? Yeah, I'm going to contest that motherfucker. I'm going to wrestle. I mean, okay. I mean, if we're out of, if we're out of, it depends on the speed of things because I can, I can give myself a flying speed of 30 feet. If that's beyond that. Okay, fine. In that case, I think we're going to be able to work. Will, you'd have to.
01:41:41
Speaker
Yeah, it's an action. Yeah, it's fine. It would look it would work thematically. But yeah, hold it fine. Well, would he would he jump off a cliff after them? Well, he doesn't know because he doesn't know it would take the other side of him to know to do it. Yeah.
01:42:03
Speaker
No, it's fine. Yeah, yeah, Nix isn't going to just take a that movement because it's the water. And this is what I wanted as long as it let me go over the water. I'm not aware of what's going to happen. Nix isn't going to worry about it. But this is water. This is my home. I'm going to I'm going to turn that bitch around.
01:42:25
Speaker
All right, I hope I call it a grapple. Can you do a contest to grapple? Just show who's going to end up underneath whom in this heroic fall. My tail spins around your legs. This is my home. 14 for me. Is it a strength or what is it? You can choose acrobatics. No, if he's doing it, it's got to be athletics. You can contest with athletics or acrobatics. It has to be athletics to do the grapple.
01:42:52
Speaker
Awesome, eight. Morota, Windsor and Danny, your side of the story takes place. This is what happens. You see them pass out of your field of vision as they start to fall towards the swelling mists of the ocean below you. As the four of you, three of you run up towards the clef edge to look over and down, you see them disappear from view as the slow moving but tumultuous spray of the ocean sprays up around you.
01:43:21
Speaker
As the two of them continue to fall, fall, fall, closer, closer, closer, you see them tussling as they fall, lower, lower, lower, until they disappear from view.
01:43:34
Speaker
And that's what we're going to leave it for this week's episode. That could be 19 d6 worth of damage. That could be. We're not going to know until next week's episode. Well, actually, maybe not next week's episode. Maybe. I want to record. Oh, God.
01:44:01
Speaker
Yeah, I didn't realize it was 19 d6. I thought yeah, it's soft. It's no, no, no, no, kind of falling damage. Because if you're not, have you not seen what happens when you fall into water from a distance? Well, funnily enough, no, I have not to know. Well, I used to do wakeboarding. And wakeboarding, if you hit the water at a bad angle, you're only going about seven miles an hour. That feels like you're getting you're hitting a brick wall face. I made my nose bleed.
01:44:26
Speaker
once he's just face-planting the water on the back of the boat. Yeah, so this could insta-kill you unless Mark rolls ship. Pretty much. But we're not going to know until... We're not going to know for a while because, leading on from that, next week is going to be, and for the following four weeks ahead. Oh, what a cliffhanger to leave on. I know. Quite literally, eh? Get me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. On a cliff.
01:44:52
Speaker
We're on a cliff. Total cliffhanger and extremely well done. But we are entering the spoopy season, ladies and gentlemen out there. Those of you, I'm sure, enjoy our Christmas specials. Now have a Halloween special, which will take place over the next four Fridays as we get ready to get our ghost and ghoulies and gribblies all on and celebrate the season of Halloween.

Cliffhanger Ending

01:45:21
Speaker
Cute evil laughter anyone. So you will have a little bit of a wait to find out what happens to Marota and Nyx as they tumble towards their watery graves by the signs of things. I've also got some things to think about because I didn't realize that was on the cards. So get your next character role. Oh, shit.
01:45:52
Speaker
What a mark. That's a hell of a way to kill two characters in one go. Nice. I thought I'd sign out. I feel so bad that I missed the deck save. The guilt that could run through your character. Exactly. Exactly. It's a whole character development thing. And, you know, yeah, we will, we will reconvene at some point and have a good chat about what's going to happen. We need to next. We need time to process.
01:46:16
Speaker
