Introduction & Chicago Bears Celebration

00:00:15
Speaker
Hello, hello. Good morning, good evening, good afternoon. We are of Positivity podcast. Welcome in. We are a Chicago Bears podcast hoping to bring some positivity into your life.
00:00:32
Speaker
pretty good, so I can't say the other line. I'm joined by my other co-host, Miller Boopin. I am a co-host, Christian. Boys, how are you guys doing today? It is a Bears Victory Tuesday that we're recording this episode on.
00:00:48
Speaker
Boopin just dab. I did. a played Wait, hang on. There was a video about, like, I think it's been certain years since a couple of things came out, and it's ah it's a milestone for dab. I think it's maybe 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, whatever. It's a milestone for dab. That was one of the things on the internet I saw today. Probably 10 years. 8 and 3, baby! That's all I gotta to say.
00:01:10
Speaker
8 and 3. Miller, is there anything you want to say? 8 3, baby. That's

Social Media Mishaps & Engagement

00:01:18
Speaker
it. Okay. All right. Social plug. This is kind of funny because I just realized on the last episode, I said the wrong socials, but I put it in the right format when I was editing.
00:01:31
Speaker
So you can find us on Facebook at Trio of Positivity Podcast or at X, which is the positive trio. Not trio positivity.
00:01:42
Speaker
Actually, let me just come here. Positive. The positive trio. The positive trio. I don't know who came up with that. That's what we are. YouTube trio positivity podcast and tick tock. We are now live two weeks in a row. And in my social experiment to find out if we're getting any follows or views, I am very happy to report.
00:02:03
Speaker
We still have zero views and zero followers after two weeks. Let's it that way, okay? End of the year, let's keep it at zero. That's what i want to do now. We are going to keep it that way.

Listener Comments & Reactions

00:02:13
Speaker
Boys, we're going to start with a fun little segment that I have. What we started doing recently is we started posting more on YouTube. We're creating shorts. We're trying to get the engagement up. We actually have a couple comments.
00:02:24
Speaker
Some of these comments were rep replied to others. We chose not to, but we want to give some props to the commenters that are out there. So we're going to start with the first one came from at 22 TGA. He wrote this under the Steelers versus bears prediction.
00:02:45
Speaker
He wrote homeboy definitely need a new team. Don't ever say you're scared as a bears fan. Open. How do you feel about that? Oh, I love when people have amnesia. It's like freaking three. I don't even know how many years. We were way under 500. Everyone wanted to freaking burn the city down. Everything. Fired coaches. We were firing coaches. Firing GMs.
00:03:12
Speaker
Poor Virginia died. We did all that. they They forget all that. They forget all that. How quickly. i I have been cautiously optimistic, if I can say that. I'm i'm not rooting against the Bears. I'm a realist. And i we did not have a shot to win this game, in my opinion. But I was secretly rooting for them. But hey, I will keep rooting against them if that means they win.
00:03:37
Speaker
that They're not going to count in

NFL Week 12 Surprises & Betting Insights

00:03:39
Speaker
our predictions. Our next comment, I hope I pronounced this correctly, at Kaija Louis. This was under the, was this a game winning drive for Caleb Williams, which got a lot of views. Surprisingly, he wrote,
00:03:53
Speaker
It would get counted just the same for any other NFL QB. It's just a stat. And you know what? You are absolutely correct. I think there was another quarterback that had something similar, and it counted as a game-winning drive. So I take that comment, and i still stand by it, but I am wrong. And you're wrong.
00:04:13
Speaker
I am wrong. Yes, that's a short in itself right there, baby. We're going to Christian said I'm wrong post that to tick tock right now.
00:04:23
Speaker
It still gets zero views. Um, our next comment came from Joseph Thompson two four six two under that same video. So seven and three is all I care about.
00:04:35
Speaker
Bear down. He is absolutely right. I think that's one of the statements. Um, I will say though, boys, someone brought this up on Twitter. I don't remember who or on X,
00:04:48
Speaker
Would we be saying the same thing if the Packers had the same schedule and they were saying, oh, seven and three or eight and three? Would we hate against those comments?
00:04:59
Speaker
i mean We always hate the Packers, so yes. Do you follow the other teams close enough to know their schedule?

AFC South Dynamics

00:05:08
Speaker
No, but they don't follow us to know our schedule either. So, I mean, it's the same concept. oh Everyone's, like, memeing about how poor our schedule has been or whatever. so Well, I guess. I don't know that I would be saying anything, but I guess it's it would still be a narrative. Because you look at the Patriots, and they they have the same narrative as we do.
00:05:28
Speaker
I mean, they have had wins against... Not as much. Not as much, but they did have a little bit. The Patriots beat the Bills and then they beat Tampa Bay, so they have two signature wins, but they were talking about the same.
00:05:41
Speaker
And the last comment from Chillmatico, which hurt my feelings. What is Triple Chin's Japping about?
00:05:52
Speaker
but does Does he mean one, two, three chins? No, it was mostly me. I'm pretty sure it was directed at me. I'm sorry, buddy. You know what? I can't even give him hate because his profile picture is him doing a thing on a skateboard on a rail. That's cool. Yeah, grinding. whatever that Whatever the young kids do these days. so yeah don't You sounded 90 when you fucking said that. I am a bull!
00:06:14
Speaker
you know the wheels and And then I chased them. And then I chased them outside with my fucking cane to get out my lawn. ah Those were the YouTube comments of the week. ah Please comment, like, subscribe. We might read them on our next episode. Boys, let's get into some football. What were your thoughts on week 12 of the NFL? For the love of God, let's keep it football related. Let's start with Boopin. What do you got?
00:06:39
Speaker
Yes, um you know, beyond just talking about football, we do bet football too, responsibly, of course. um So ah we this week we bet, and a lot of big favorites out there did not cover So I did some very scientific research right before the episode started by quickly clicking through some scores.
00:07:01
Speaker
From what I gathered, um the not the Sunday night game and the Monday night game, only three teams that were favorite, it seems, I covered. That was Atlanta, Jags, and Backers.
00:07:14
Speaker
I guess Bears, too. That was very close. But Bears, too. Those are only four teams that cover or barely covered. Everyone else, the underdogs covered the spread, including big spreads in like Tennessee versus Seattle. Miller will tell you all about how Giants covered against the Lions. So that was interesting, right? Yeah.
00:07:34
Speaker
Like the lines that that tells me that our perception of the NFL, like this team is so much better than this team, like this far in the season. i don't know. i don't know if that's a little bit blurred or some of these lines are just way out there that they are not hitting anymore. that that That was my takeaway slash thinking for this week.
00:07:55
Speaker
Miller, what you got? We could go. We could do baseball. You want to baseball? What about If you're going to about the trade for the Cardinals. No, I'm not. um We're going to go talk about the Cleveland Browns here.
00:08:07
Speaker
I don't know if any of y'all watched Stefanski's presser after they got the W. It was quite hilarious. Now, we all know this was Shadur Sanders' first game as a pro, and we know the history going on with the Browns. Well...
00:08:27
Speaker
Stefanski decided to give a whole speech and proceeded to thank many people in the organization, including the punter, the kick returner, and he threw Shadur's name in there, and he did this, and he gave away one game ball that went to Miles Garrett.
00:08:46
Speaker
So Stefanski really hates Shadur Sanders for some reason, and I don't think anybody really knows him. Well, okay, before and before we go in into anywhere, like, Miles Garrett is having a hell of a fucking year. like He's going to break the record. He's going to get all the game balls. Yeah, like, that's going to be trouble.
00:09:08
Speaker
That's what, three weeks? Three weeks? um Yeah, i I didn't watch the game, but I saw that he got his first win, and then to have something like that, like, that sucks. I mean, he wasn't that, he wasn't impressive by any means. had two nice deep throws, but other than that, but it's his first career start and first career win. I mean, how many do they have this season? Or second start? Second start. no No, this is his first start. He came in. He came in and concurred. Okay, yeah. Well, two two things. I had heard about that, Miller. But my interpretation, what the guy I listened to said he threw everybody's name, including the kitchen staff, and barely mentioned Shadood is what he said. You can tell me if it was right or wrong. But the second thing, Chris, I noticed is in this podcast, the only person that brings up the Sanders is that effing guy.
00:09:55
Speaker
He was talking about in the preseason, and he was saying, oh, there's too much hype and too much media coverage about the Sanders, and the only guy that brings up Sanders on this pa podcast is Miller himself. A little hypocrite right there.
00:10:11
Speaker
I... I mean, didn't even follow your train of thought. You lost me there. You were talking about the podcast, this podcast, and using one. So, like, you brought up saying you bring up Sanders and their family, like, so often, and you hate how much coverage they get in the preseason. Okay, hold on. I will. Okay. We're talking about.
00:10:31
Speaker
Yeah. Okay. Moving on. Boys, here's what I thought of week 12. The AFC South got very interesting. We have the Colts 8-3, Jags 7-4, Texans 6-5.
00:10:48
Speaker
It's going to be, and I think there's a couple teams that face each other two times before the end of the season, like in the division, I believe, if I recall hearing what I heard. If not, I'll be corrected per usual.
00:11:00
Speaker
um We thought the Colts were going to run away with it. They're one loss away from... and Jags are one win away from tying it. um They had a chance to get the Chiefs. Didn't happen.
00:11:14
Speaker
Went to overtime, and it became a whole thing. But I think that's going to be a fun little story that we're going to get into. Let us know in the comments what you guys thought of NFL Week 12. We might use it when we read...
00:11:26
Speaker
The comments on air next week, or actually, we still have to talk about the schedule, which we didn't talk about since we're in Black Friday game. But before we get to the game, we have to go to Bears versus Steelers over at Soldier Field.

Bears vs. Steelers Recap

00:11:40
Speaker
The Bears win 31-28. They continue to hold first place in the NFC North. This is now the second time this season that the Chicago Bears have won four straight.
00:11:50
Speaker
giving you a couple of quick hitters on the stats. Caleb Williams went 19 to 35, three touchdowns, 239 yards in the air. The highest leading rusher for the bears was menung guy, 12 carries one touchdown with 48 yards.
00:12:05
Speaker
DJ Moore got two touchdowns on five receptions for 64 yards. My favorite stat of the night or of the game was Montez sweat with two sacks. Um, um,
00:12:17
Speaker
let ah Let's get into some Pittsburgh numbers. Rudolph went 24-31, 171, one touchdown, one interception.
00:12:27
Speaker
And Calvin Austin got four receptions, 36 yards on five targets. That's all going to give them for that. But as always, we're going to start our lovely Bears recap with our favorite segment.
00:12:41
Speaker
Let's hear it.
00:12:44
Speaker
It's Miller's Glazing Minute. Brought to you by the Trio Positivity Podcast.
00:12:56
Speaker
Now I can sit here and glaze all day long. But no one wants to listen to that. Actually, I do. Because he's, I mean, three touchdown passes, zero interceptions. Like, come on! Let's go! He's on pace for 4,000 people!
00:13:10
Speaker
But come the fuck on. Caleb, let's sit down. Can you throw a good pass consistently, please? I know there are good... You you started

Miller's Glazing Minute: Caleb Williams Analysis

00:13:20
Speaker
really, really fucking slow.
00:13:22
Speaker
I am sick and tired of seeing the wide receivers fully extended across the middle or behind them or their drops have been an issue.
00:13:32
Speaker
I will admit that, but the lack of accurate passing needs to stop. And to these wide open receivers, it's frustrating as fuck. With that being said, I believe this was Caleb's first game of having all correct reads.
00:13:47
Speaker
He may have missed a lot of th throws to that that read, but I don't recall seeing too many plays where Caleb missed a wide open guy, and that is what we call proud.
00:13:59
Speaker
Well, he didn't get a chance to finish again this week. Would have been great to hear what we wanted to finish with, but we're not going to talk about it now. So Boopin, thoughts on his glazing minute.
00:14:12
Speaker
How do you even calculate that? But kudos. he hit every, you know, open receiver or whatever. But hey, the touchdown. DJ was wide open. He hit him. That was awesome. There was no one in like two miles around him. um If I may...
00:14:29
Speaker
slightly diverge don't know if you guys have followed this on the internets there is a guy who won 17 september predicted the bear season and so far he's he's hit every game he's hit every win and hit every loss including the four game winning streak i like any type of thing on the chicago bears subreddit if you guys are familiar you probably know already like just want to give that guy a shout out like Jesus Christ, like, we've tried to predict the game and with ups and downs and how, like, you know, like, heart attack-y bears have been, it's so hard to predict the season and that guy's nailed it.
00:15:06
Speaker
Do want to bring us down a tiny bit, though. The next two games, he's predicted losses, but we finished the game on a four-game wing streak. So just want to throw that out there. Shout out to the subreddit. And I don't know. I

Caleb Williams Critique & Comparisons

00:15:20
Speaker
think that was like pretty fascinating to see.
00:15:22
Speaker
And much had nothing to do with his glazing minute, but we're going to move on. um I have to agree with Miller. I think while his numbers look good, three touchdowns only got sacked once in a horrible, horrible end zone play.
00:15:40
Speaker
um There, there were some, some questionable throws. I, the one thing I've noticed though, and Miller, you can kind of talk a little bit about it. It almost seems like that first drive is like a feeler moment. Yeah.
00:15:53
Speaker
where they're just trying to get the defense, trying to feel them out. Because I think the following, the next drive, they always seem to score, but that first one is just they struggle. No, that's not true at all. The last few games. The last few games they had. Earlier in the season, we were saying we scored at the beginning of the half and end of the game. We didn't do anything in between. That's kind of flipping. We don't do anything in the beginning but beginning and end. It's better. But the important thing is we're winning. but anyway National media is getting a lot of attention on Caleb. And Dan Orlovsky seems to have a lot to say about Caleb. And one of the things is that...
00:16:28
Speaker
He's making the right decisions, which as an NFL quarterback, yeah, you you kind of have to do that. The one thing that he did point out is that on the play action stuff,
00:16:41
Speaker
um the he is throwing to the designed play. And there's multiple examples where there was a ah play action, and as soon as he turned around, he just darted it. He didn't wait for...
00:16:54
Speaker
ah to see if he was going to be open. There's a pass where it goes right through the hands of the Steelers defender. There was no way that he was going to react that fast to it. There's another one where he literally puts the ball out, tucks it in turns and just chucks it.
00:17:10
Speaker
And that seems to be by design. So seeing the rushing numbers being what they are, but still being able to use the play action has been very helpful for Caleb in his progressions. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about his performance, except what Miller kind of reiterated. There's some throws that were high and sometimes you want to see a little soft touch, but I feel like he doesn't know what soft touch is and he just wants to bullet the pass. So, I mean, it is what it is.
00:17:38
Speaker
It is what it is because he struggled early. He definitely did the first two drives. He like really struggled missing just easy rudimentary throws, but then he really picked it up. And in the second half, he was, he was really good.
00:17:51
Speaker
But you know what? I don't know if we, and if you guys brought this up, I apologize. And it's probably taken me this long to kind of realize this. Yes. It's Ben Johnson, new system, but it's almost like he's progressing as if he, it was his rookie year kind of deal. Like you see him kind of get better and better.
00:18:08
Speaker
I remember training camp, everyone was so worried about how how how long he was going to hold the ball. And now we're at a point where he's on a play action and he's just chucking it. So you you see the improvement there. I do believe this has been very very nice to watch as a Bears fan that has had issues with quarterbacks. This is his first year getting coached, remember?
00:18:29
Speaker
Oh, we, we, ah you're not wrong. There definitely seems to be some consistency about how this young quarterbacks get criticized. If you listen to McCarthy and he looks horrible, JJ McCarthy up in Minnesota, but he's getting the same, um, like,
00:18:46
Speaker
missing wide open guys, you know, like not reading plays, obviously making some bad throws and that's in there that's making him worse. But the criticism seems very like consistent because JJ, if you really think about it, it's his rookie year. He didn't get to play last year. Right. So like the, the progression there on is very similar. Please don't say that. Please don't fucking say that.
00:19:09
Speaker
i Did you watch the Minnesota game? He looked horrible. I did not. I just saw the like highlights. He looked horrible. Do not have those two quarterbacks in your mouth at the same time.
00:19:21
Speaker
Oh, my God. Oh, you can have him in your mouth anytime, Miller. I'm sorry. I took it away from your mouth. Jesus Christ. I don't want you to be comparing our quarterback to JJ McCarthy. All I'm saying is the national the national media, they they are saying the same things about No, they're not. I haven't heard. Hold on. I want to, because that was such a great joke. I don't want to go away from it. Miller, if there's 100 dildos on the walls, how many would you choke on?
00:19:45
Speaker
You go dirty dog. You don't know the meme. You don't know the meme. All right. I got it set up for that one. That was perfect. Thank you for that. Now, speaking of ah putting stuff on a wall, which that was a horrible transition, we have a new segment to introduce.

Boopin's Balls: Standout Players

00:20:01
Speaker
We are going to give out game balls, but not just we as a trio of positivity. One specific person in the trio is going to do it. We have Boopins Balls. I don't have a jingle yet. oh Try to figure it out. betterpa Never let it rest. take There you go. Boopin, give your balls away.
00:20:20
Speaker
i i need them, but okay. ah Here we go. people keep of People, people, people, people. What a game. You know, what a game. We overcame obstacles everywhere.
00:20:33
Speaker
And we got the dub. We got a dub when people like Bupin doubted us. We got the dub. So put let the doubters and the haters, let them and' put shades on right now, okay? The third game ball goes to DJ Moore, okay?
00:20:46
Speaker
Sometimes he falls asleep, doesn't do shit, gets zero, one catches here and there. He came up with two TDs that were clutch in coming up with the, you know, like giving us the lead, ah making sure we we did what we needed to an offense.
00:21:00
Speaker
The second game ball, man, this guy needs, Needs something bigger than just this ball. But Nashawn Wright, he's playing out of his freaking mind. Best interception of the day, probably the best of the week from what I've seen so far. He gives the boost.
00:21:16
Speaker
um i don't know I don't know if I'll go that far. I haven't seen all of them. But heck of a heck of an interception. More importantly, gave us the boost we needed. You know, and he's done that repeatedly, right? every He's leading the league and interceptions.
00:21:29
Speaker
Shout out to the guy. Game ball to him. First game ball. There's lots of people that deserve this, right? Caleb with three TDs is in running the offensive line, four out of five who are in like top 10 rated O-line right now in the NFL. But I think the first game ball goes to Dennis Allen, our defensive coordinator.
00:21:51
Speaker
In the last two games, he's taken... An injury depleted unit to show up and compete at a very respectable level. um I have more some more stats we'll talk about in a minute. But man, like, like I don't know. You guys but may probably were better in not doubting the Bears. But I had my doubts this week, especially with like no linebackers, ma majority of the cornerbacks on the shelf. Man, like I really doubted him. That man got the team to show up.
00:22:18
Speaker
Pretty respectable. Even when we lost people during the game. He deserves a game ball for sure. Thank you.

Bears' Offensive Analysis & Praise

00:22:25
Speaker
And that was our newest segment, Boopin's Balls. Let us know who you want to give your balls to in the comments section. This should be an interesting segment moving forward. So let's go ahead and transition.
00:22:37
Speaker
Let's talk about this offense for a little bit. um I guess we can all agree it was inconsistent. Even though we did put up 31, there was only 63 yards by our running backs.
00:22:49
Speaker
How would you guys rate the overall performance of this offense? Let's start with Miller. Boopin wanted to give the game ball to Dennis Allen. I would like to give a damne game ball to Ben Johnson.
00:23:03
Speaker
I had the opportunity because what he's doing for this team, not to mention just the overall change of culture, but just watching the game, like I mentioned earlier, the inconsistency of Caleb Williams, but it's it's like a fucking MLB hitter, and it's just like Caleb misses a wide-open game class over the middle that would have gone for 10 yards. Well, you know what Ben Johnson does? He schemes another wide open 20 yard play that Caleb hits because he's spitting 50% out there. So it's just like what Ben Johnson is doing is just out of this world with the play calling and you he's whatever Caleb does, all the mistakes Caleb made, Ben gets through it and charges through it. And the other thing about this game in particular, Ben Johnson always talks about
00:23:49
Speaker
the first first down of the drive initiates the offense. And it has never been more evident than it was in this game. We had five drives where we had no first downs and we had six drives where we got that first down and those six drives resulted in 31 points.
00:24:07
Speaker
So it's always about that first first down with this team. and it's And Ben Johnson, just what he's doing as the coach is just crazy. Yeah, yeah um I mean, that didn't really talk too much about this game you're kind of talking about overall. i I'm so glad that we're all on a point with this agenda. It's fantastic, really. This didn't talk about this game. I literally just laid out 11 drives from this fucking game.
00:24:35
Speaker
How would you rate their performance? Was the question. And you want to give a game ball when we talk about oh so you want me to do the positivity score now, too? No, we're still not there yet, brother. We're not there yet.
00:24:48
Speaker
Mom and dad are fighting again. here's Here's the thing with this offense. This offense, it's giving people reason to say that we're 8-3 as an excuse.
00:25:00
Speaker
That we're 8-3, we're winning the games that were scheduled for us. It is what it is. The offense sometimes looks great, and then the offense sometimes looks bad. And we still win games. How long can this hold? We talked about this a couple weeks ago.
00:25:15
Speaker
We said and shouldn't it shouldn't hold for as long as it's holding. And now we're 8-3. The one thing that people are going to start to realize now is that the Bears, we didn't think were a playoff team at the beginning of the year.
00:25:26
Speaker
Now we have to talk about, can the Bears actually make a push for the number one seed? That is going to be the next conversation. And can this offense get to a point where you can have the one seed?
00:25:39
Speaker
Because we're we're we're pretty much in on the playoffs. Boopin said it. We are now at 69% making it with this win. It's going to be very hard for us to kind of go down. I do see some more wins in the future. Can we get a one seed?
00:25:52
Speaker
I don't know. This offense isn't consistent, even though we had a great performance by CW. There's still some things that I wish we could improve upon. Yeah, no, agreed. Like, running game did not do what it's been doing for us consistently. Like, they take over games, they've been, like, setting the groundwork for us to build on, and that didn't happen this time.
00:26:12
Speaker
And honestly, that's going to happen, right? Pittsburgh has some really good defensive players. They've been a really good coach. I expected them to do more, I'll be honest with you, but they did, like, take the run game away, and It seemed like that was their plan. But what I'm proud of, and I don't want to just like silver-line this too much, is we overcame that, right? We kind of flipped what we do every day, what we do well every week. We flipped that and still found a way to win.
00:26:39
Speaker
think was a character-building win. I've said this over and over again. We were depleted. We were supposed to lose. If we had lost this game, people would be like, yeah, okay, the magic is over. never said that. But I think that was one of those games. And the fact that they overcame that, I'm proud of this team.
00:26:57
Speaker
Yeah, at one point, they Caleb threw the ball, I think, 18 straight times. That just shows confidence in in the quarterback. I think any other time that we've seen that, I mean, sometimes we question the play call, but if I'm trying to word this in a way that i i want to ask you guys.
00:27:16
Speaker
If Caleb was not performing well, No, see, that's not going to make sense. Never mind. i was Yeah, that was something positive for Caleb. No, no, no. It was going to be more or less like, let's say like he is more accurate or something like that. like Would the offense improve with his accuracy?
00:27:34
Speaker
The run game, I think, is still an issue, but the O-line looks great. so it's like where Run game is not a fucking issue, dude. We're like the number one running team in the NFL. it's all donald how many How many yards do we have this game?
00:27:47
Speaker
99, we had one rough game against a stout Pittsburgh front that is better up front than they are in the back end. So calm down about shitting on this running game every fucking week.
00:28:01
Speaker
Listen, it the stats prove it. We said over 100. they don't. oh Go look at the stats. They don't prove that this running by... Over 100. They do not prove that we're a bad running team.
00:28:12
Speaker
I'm not saying that we're a bad running team. You just did. saying is that we're not consistent. That goes to I'm changing your wording, and we are consistent. Jesus. We've already been over this. How do you say we're consistent, and then we say we have one bad game?
00:28:24
Speaker
Chris, they had a really good game plan. Consistency doesn't mean you hit your mark every fucking time. I mean, 80% of the time is good enough to be called consistent. and is Miller, they did not hit the fake line that Chris drew on the land. That's at 100 yards. Thank you. I'm glad someone has understanding. It doesn't exist anywhere in the world. Just in Chris's mind, did it not like it's drawn in freaking chalk, and no one hit it one week. He's sad. Let him be sad. It's okay.
00:28:51
Speaker
All right, so we talked about the offense, and Miller kind of elaborated a little bit. What has Ben Johnson brought to this team with this 8-3 Bears team? The attitude, dude. The will to win.
00:29:03
Speaker
i i couldn't say good things about the staff, man. Like,
00:29:08
Speaker
ah we are decimated, right? Closed games, which we have lost time and over, year over year, we are winning those, right? like And that just doesn't happen overnight. like These people believe they play for each other. Like, even when the big names are not out there, they still, they refuse to quit.
00:29:26
Speaker
Man, they play with their heart. Like Miller said, that man has, like, changed the culture. And we, like, hear this so often. Like, this is truly a different team from where we were a year or two ago, and that the credit only goes to that man.
00:29:42
Speaker
i don't know how i feel about saying only, but Miller, your thoughts? Creativity and offensive prowess. Yes, it's only him. Yes, just just suck it up and say it's only him because he's done it.
00:29:55
Speaker
I mean, Virginia is no longer here. Who would you give credit to? Jesus. No, not jesus like the not Jesus. I'm just amazed at this comment. All right. um I'm just going to not give my thoughts on that. All right. Let's move on over to the defensive side of the ball.
00:30:17
Speaker
How would you guys rate the performance against the Steelers? What stood out to you Miller, start us off.
00:30:25
Speaker
ah The defense, it was it was good. um They were playing a backup quarterback at Mason Rudolph. my own My biggest concern with them The defense was also a backup, by the way.
00:30:36
Speaker
We would also play all our backups. That's fair. That's fair. Are you going to talk about the text that you sent to the group before the game? That I was concerned because all of our linebackers were gone? That you have no faith?
00:30:50
Speaker
Fake fan. Continue. Hey, I said this on this podcast and I got called out for it. so um The defense played fine. i mean, the the biggest thing with them was getting those turnovers, which they've done consistently. It seems like every game we're getting at least two turnovers and it's just...
00:31:08
Speaker
Fantastic. My concern comes with their the the running game that they allowed.

Defensive Praise & Challenges

00:31:12
Speaker
Obviously, a lot of that was on the Gainwell fake ah tush push, if you will, but the running game did gash us a little bit.
00:31:20
Speaker
I think it was like 180 yards or something like that. But for the most part, they held the wide receivers in check. They held the offense in check. So it was a pretty solid outing. I second that. Looking at the scoring drives in the third quarter, is these are all Steeler possessions in order.
00:31:38
Speaker
Punt, punt, fumble, touchdown, punt, and down turnover on downs. um This defense got us a win. it We didn't have to rely on the offense for the first time. And being depleted as we were, i was very happy and proud of the fact that the defense got us the win and kept us...
00:31:58
Speaker
Basically kept kept the Steelers in check. mean, you guys kind of hit all the points. Kudos to... I'll only give one stat. Nine sacks and five interceptions in the last four games while being decimated. So props to them. Injuries, yeah.
00:32:13
Speaker
Now, we talked a little bit about offense and defense. Let's talk about the Grand Wizard who put all of this together. Ryan Poles has been making rounds again on the Twittersphere and some Reddit.
00:32:25
Speaker
Are we kind of ready to say that his choices have helped the Bears make an impact this year? Boopin'. Ben, close your ears. Yes, I believe so. um Guys, we've been we've been we've been some bad habits here, right? We all want Burrow and Stroud and Daniels who like they come in right away and click right away.
00:32:48
Speaker
um Yes, you would love would love to do that. But those are three draft picks out of like 300 that get picked every year, right? That's hard to do. We were quick to doubt his picks.
00:32:59
Speaker
Yes, he has really bad misses in the past, and we need to hold him accountable for that. Chase Claypool. But this draft and like some of the picks he's made, especially free agency, they're all like, I'm not saying they're like game changers, but they're playing their part in this bigger picture, which I'm really happy to see.
00:33:18
Speaker
Shout out to Ozzy Trapilo, who played pretty meaningful snaps and that's tackled this game too. I think the Chase Claypool stuff is is our, it's three years. Let it go. It's over. Like, we can't keep bringing that shit up.
00:33:32
Speaker
Yeah, you can. That's how you judge a fucking performance. From three years ago comparing to a new new head coach that's in here now? I know. When you judge a performance of a general manager, you take into consideration the entire...
00:33:48
Speaker
book, if you will. I feel like you're going to get judged more on your misses than your hits. Miller, go ahead. and I'm sorry. I didn't mean to... but i I was just giving a one-way here. but Go ahead, Miller. Sorry. and Then we'll we'll keep talking. i mean Bottom line is...
00:34:04
Speaker
Some of the picks that he's made recently, it's finally making some impact plays. um We are finally seeing Sweat kind of be what we expected when we signed him.
00:34:15
Speaker
Brisker, we know what he is. He's a great safety. He made some plays down the at the end of the game, but he does have his concussions. i so I echoed this before. he still doesn't have a lot of draft picks that have been successful without Ben Johnson.
00:34:31
Speaker
let's Let's be real about that. So, I mean, it there's still a lot to be desired here for him. If you're judging the whole book... You're talking about free agency. they He pretty much signed the worst free agent this year.
00:34:48
Speaker
In a Dengbo. So I don't know how you're talking about. You're talking about Gardner Johnson. I can probably find you worse than that. I can probably find you worse than that. Please, please try. Okay. like but i Don't try to find a guy that got paid $18 million dollars a year and didn't have one stat.
00:35:03
Speaker
Brandon Cooks got paid $7 million in New Orleans and I bet he didn't even catch one ball.

Ryan Poles' Impact Discussion

00:35:09
Speaker
That's seven. That's 11 million left. I'm just saying, like, yes, he he got C.J. Gardner Johnson, but that wasn't, like, a big free agent signing. That was a guy that you picked up off the street.
00:35:21
Speaker
Give him credit for it. I'm not taking it away, but, like, Like Nashawn Wright, like Bayard, like these are all his picks that are like working. Bayard was a good one and Nashawn Wright, yeah, he's had a good year this year. I mean, but you can't just, again, this is on, most of these are under Ben Johnson. All these draft picks we said at the time, Ben Johnson directed these draft picks. It was not Ryan Paul. We still don't know that everyone makes that comment. Oh, yourself. we We can't. Now let me ask you a question. Hold on. Let me, let me just ask this question. Hold on. let me just ask this question.
00:35:54
Speaker
hypothetical, of course, because that's how I love to live my life. Bears win the Super Bowl, we're still going to bring up Claypool? Yeah. I can let it go if it win the Super Bowl. Yeah, see, that's what I'm saying. Like, I would let it go. Miller just seems to want to live in the past over dumb shit that was happening. No, no, no. Like, Miller, my question for you is, like, do you think defensively, too, it's Ben Johnson picking the guys? It's Dennis Allen, at least? Great question.
00:36:19
Speaker
i think it's Ben Johnson. I mean, look, let's be real. Ryan Poles has his finger on the pulse and he's I'm sure they're together. but like most of the draft picks were offense defensive related it definitely comes down to benjo i'm sure they're all together Ben Dennis Allen.
00:36:35
Speaker
i i would almost argue that dennis allen has more say on the defense and ben johnson just because if you um listen to ben like when he talks he doesn't really much he doesn't meddle with the defensive side of the ball he focuses on the offensive side of the ball which is which is good for head coach you remember when we had flus and we were kind of talking about that where flus was handling the defense and he didn't meddle with the offense and now we're seeing the opposite but both sides are kind of seeing success it's crazy for me to think that a coach can kind of have that effect but like we see it with the offense with ben johnson when we didn't see it with flus on offense
00:37:12
Speaker
I just find that very intriguing because that same comment saw it with flus. No good at his defense. He was good at his defense, really good but the last year, ah offense suck that's what I'm saying. The last year when we had Caleb there and we were seeing this offense being what it was compared to Ben Johnson's first year with Caleb seeing the difference. So that's, that's, I've seen that get brought up on a couple instances where it's like, Hey, you know, imagine when we had flus and we fired him after all of that. And it's like, yeah, mean, But let's also remember that Ryan Poles got us Ben Johnson.
00:37:44
Speaker
Ryan, we we I remember the conversation we had on an episode, and we're like, we are not getting Ben Johnson. We thought Tom Brady was pulling in all the stops to get him on Oakland, and then the following day, or two days later, I think, Ben Johnson was announced to the Bears. So you're absolutely right. or. or It was the Wrigley faithful because remember he did talk about the fact that he used to come to the Cubs games every year with his family. That is true, but also... That is true, but also... If he went to the Southside, he wasn't coming to Chicago. Listen, buddy, you say that, but... If you have a team that doesn't win 100 years and fans still keep showing up, would also want to coach that team.
00:38:21
Speaker
i mean That is a fair statement, but you know what's what's being brought up too, though, is that the Bears are 8-3 since there's been the Chicago Pope, and he's a Southsider, so... There's a lot of ways we can look at it. And there's sometimes ah there's there's way. Let us know in the comments your thoughts on the game.

Bears vs. Eagles Preview

00:38:39
Speaker
We're going to get to our positivity score recap. If you don't know what this is, is we give a positivity score from zero to 10. We have our ways of judging it Last week, Miller was at a 7.5. Boopin was at a strong 7.
00:38:56
Speaker
I stayed put at a 6.5. We're going to start with Miller. Miller, where is your positivity score now for the Chicago Bears? I'm
00:39:07
Speaker
trying to do this incrementally, but it's getting to a point where I'm not really comfortable. But I have to go with an 8. I have go with an 8. have to go they I mean, jesus like Boopin talked about, this game was a pretty big game, and it finally got us on the map. Yes, we played Mason Rudolph, but we had our defensive guys that were out, and we still performed. We beat a ah winning team, first-place team at the time, and who knows, man.
00:39:42
Speaker
Boopin, what is your positivity score? Yeah, I was at a seven. It's hard not to go up after an impressive win. Like, you know, it's probably the first impressive team coaching staff we've beat.
00:39:54
Speaker
I'm going to go up to seven and a half. You guys are being real homers here. I'm going seven. a um The defense alone is is kind of what did it for me being injury prone and not injury prone, but having a lot of injuries and just have that final stand be what it was. Funny enough, Aaron Rodgers saw the yeah illegal formation from far away. There's a video of him.
00:40:24
Speaker
Doing that and then there was a tip ball at the end on the fourth down too. So it was great. This was just an all-around win So let us know your positivity score in the comments as well. It is 0 to 10 Please do not go over 10 unless you have a reason to we're not gonna read it most likely just keep it 0 to 10 Let us know your grading scale, but boys We have an interesting day coming up on Black Friday It is the NFL's Black Friday game, Bears versus Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. It is a 2 p.m. kickoff central time.
00:40:58
Speaker
which is fucking weird, but all right. um The over-under seems to be put at 44.5. The Eagles were favored at 7 to start.
00:41:09
Speaker
They were then dropped to 6.5 and are back 7. Hurts has 17 touchdowns, 22, almost 2,300 yards passing. Barkley has 684, four touchdowns. Some issues their receiving core, but
00:41:18
Speaker
barley has six hundred and eighty four where four touchdowns some issues with their wide receiving core We need to talk about the Bears.
00:41:28
Speaker
What do the Bears need to do to make it nine and three I'm going to start us off because I never start this portion off and I'm not going to steal what the other guys are going to say, but the defense needs to hold one more game on a short rest week.
00:41:46
Speaker
If the defense holds the same way that they held against Pittsburgh, we are going to be looking really good. So defense, defense, defense is what I'm putting my priority on.
00:41:59
Speaker
Bupin, your thoughts? Ooh, I'm going to get killed again. um Let's see. um Their offense um hasn't has won them some games, but it's been inconsistent, like the last game, right? They scored 21 in the first half and nothing in the second half. So, like, it's not been there 100%. think that, like Chris hit it on the head, our defense, our injured defense on a short week,
00:42:26
Speaker
What can they do? looks like our cornerbacks most likely will be back, even though that's probably still tough with the short week, but they will be back. Our linebackers does not look good for them. So it'll be a big game big question mark stopping the run.
00:42:41
Speaker
um If they can stop the run, I think we're in play, but that's a really tall order with Barkley and Hertz there. But again, that line, that game has not been the same this year. So I will be more positive last week. There's a chance, but still very tall order.
00:42:59
Speaker
Miller, thoughts? yeah Just echoing what you guys said on the defense. Their offense has been very inconsistent. So... um Let's stop there.
00:43:11
Speaker
But also, if I want to focus on the guy that Ryan Poles passed on in the middle on the defensive side of the ball for the Eagles and Jalen Carter. ah Thankfully, there's they have a pretty good defensive line, stronger up front when it talks to about Jalen Carter. So I'm hoping that these big guys in the middle on our offensive line who have been very good recently um can continue that against one of the NFL's best.
00:43:38
Speaker
So we've had our problem with edge players with Max Crosby and and TJ Watt last week. Let's see if we can shut down ah a tackle and or if he's going to be a game wrecker. But they have a few good corners as well. It'll be interesting to see how our offensive side of the ball does against their or defense So speaking of which, we're transitioning to what can the Eagles do. Shout out to my friend Z, who is a diehard Eagles fan.
00:44:05
Speaker
They need to take advantage of big plays against this defense. um Pittsburgh, I feel like, kind of did not take too many chances, at least from what I can recall.
00:44:16
Speaker
um They have a shot of making this blowing out this game at home. It's going to be a 2 o'clock game, which I still don't know why they picked that time, but whatever. We're the only team playing that day, right?
00:44:29
Speaker
I believe so, but I believe there's also college football, but I don't know, whatever. Um, which is why they're, at two I think so. I think so. Um, I think for the Eagles to have a chance and, uh, Miller mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, it's like the big, uh, yardage play. What did you call it? Miller? You have a saying like big yard play. It's,
00:44:48
Speaker
It was a saying. There was a stat that the Bears, I forget what it's called. explosive Explosive plays. Thank you. I think if the Eagles knock out some explosive plays on this defense, they are definitely going to have a chance to win it. Miller thoughts.
00:45:05
Speaker
They're going to do what they're going to do. I don't know, man. um i We're not in a very good situation. I could just preach right now. The fact that they just lost embarrassingly to the Cowboys. They're going to be angry. They're going to need to run the ball. Their offense is going to run the ball. Saquon's going to run the ball on us.
00:45:26
Speaker
um Defense is going to become playing out hard. Yeah, we'll get to it. um I wanted to mention for the Bears. Oh, sorry. Go ahead.
00:45:38
Speaker
The pick that Rand Pauls passed on. I haven't heard his name much this year, so I looked up his stats. He only has one sack this year. Jalen Carter. So, I don't know.
00:45:49
Speaker
I don't know. That's what I wanted to say.
00:45:53
Speaker
i don't think he appreciated that.
00:45:57
Speaker
I don't care. don't care. are you not going to ask me what do they need to do to win? That was going be my next question. Yeah, go for it. Okay. The defending Super Bowl chi champions, like Milo said, need to get to the usual game.
00:46:14
Speaker
They have a better offense and defense on paper. um They need to get to consistency. They are angry. They'll play angry. um Yeah. ah but Again, miracle if we win this game.
00:46:27
Speaker
want to bring up one point on the what the Bears can do. Play action. If Caleb is doing that great with play actions, we need to do more of that. um Also, boys, this game has... Revenge Game, right?
00:46:42
Speaker
You say Revenge Game. like You've said Revenge Game so many times, and it doesn't fucking matter. I don't know how many times you're gonna keep bringing Revenge Game up. Zero importance to revenge games. That's not true. ze um Boys, this game has standing implications. Both teams are eight and three and tied for second in the conference. So whoever wins this game will have sole possession of second in the NFC.
00:47:11
Speaker
Imagine hearing that in fucking week 12 for the Chicago Bears. They're fighting for the fucking second seed. Let us know your thoughts in the comments. What you guys think about this game coming up and how do you feel about it being on Black Friday?
00:47:24
Speaker
it is going to be on Prime. So if you don't have the membership, find the website. All right, let's get into some predictions. ah We predicted last week and our records Miller and I are looking pretty damn good. We have the same record as the Chicago Bears. We are eight and three.
00:47:40
Speaker
We both picked the Bears to win. Boopin is 7-4, and he picked the Steelers to win, which did not go his way. During preseason, we made some predictions, and we all said that the Eagles would beat the Bears. Let's see if that stands true.
00:47:58
Speaker
Miller, start us off with your prediction. what do you Who do you have winning this game? The Eagles are going to roll. They're going to win. And they're going to win convincingly. I'm going to Eagles.
00:48:17
Speaker
Yowza. Boopin, are you know on the same train? i'm Close. I think Eagles definitely win. But I think it's slightly closer than that.
00:48:28
Speaker
I said twenty four twenty
00:48:32
Speaker
My God. Dude, Chris. you guys sold project guys are just You guys are just sheeps. You guys are just sheeps following what everyone says.
00:48:43
Speaker
You know what it is? We're taking this win. This is going to be another win for the Chicago Bears. But you know what it's going to be?
00:48:55
Speaker
It is going to be a Santos game winning field goal. got the Bears 24-21.
00:49:03
Speaker
Chris, if you're right, that means fuck it, buy you steak dinner. Listen, that means that means i think Caleb leads another game winning drive.
00:49:15
Speaker
Oh, yeah. We forgot. A.K.A. Duvernay runs it back 60 yards, and he just... That's what I'm hopeful for. um i don't know the conditions. I know in... a I don't know the conditions. It's supposed nice.
00:49:29
Speaker
It's supposed to be nice? Okay. Well, like 30s or 40s or 50s. Not snowing. But not like cold or rainy. um I don't know, dude. I am scared. I wish the Eagles beat the Cowboys. I think they're going to come out for blood, and I don't know that this team...
00:49:45
Speaker
I mean, I don't want to call what what's been happening with the team lucky, but we've definitely been fortunate in a lot of situations, and I think that it's going to run out um this game. But the nice thing about that is no one expects us to win.
00:49:59
Speaker
um Everybody expects us to lose, so we have nothing to really play for. And even if we do lose, it's not really a big deal. Well, it can be a big deal if Lions win. i think It's really not, though.
00:50:11
Speaker
like we control Realistically, we control our own fate. We play the Lions play the Packers fight. Lions win and we lose, we don't. Yes, we do because we play them at the end of the year. Dumbass.
00:50:21
Speaker
That doesn't mean there's still a lot that can happen between that game. though But that's not what controlling your own fate means. Yes, it does. No, it means that if you win out, and even if the Lions win out, which they can't do, they would lose the last game. We would then jump them.
00:50:36
Speaker
That's what that means. But don't we want the Packers to win, guys? Because they're a game behind us. Don't we want them to win? So the Lions, you know? I think we do. yeah All of this is going to be a position like this is, i have to look at the schedule. But I do believe. Okay, what I was saying is even if we lose this game, no one's going to be like, oh, the Bears aren't real.
00:50:58
Speaker
We're still going to be talked about as one of the best teams in the NFC um moving forward at least for another week.
00:51:08
Speaker
I don't know how much confidence you said that. um I think this game. up five fine yeah ah Not to kind of get too much ahead, but the following game is at Packers, then Browns and Packers again, and then 49ers and then Lions. um The next two games are clutch. Like, at Packers and this, both away, this is the most important part of the season. If we win one of two, or even if we lose both, there's still a shot, but if we win one of two, man, that would be awesome.

NFC North Playoff Race

00:51:42
Speaker
We win one of two, we're basically clinch the playoffs. My guess is, I don't know. because we we talked about this before, Miller, and even you brought it up when we were saying like there was three possible teams that could come out of the NFC North.
00:51:55
Speaker
You didn't want to mention the Bears as being that team. If the Bears lose and Lions win, they're 8-4, and because the Lions beat us, they jump us. So they're already going to be ahead. Say it. Play them at the end of the year, Chris. It doesn't matter because if we tie, and it's it's not going to matter.
00:52:13
Speaker
it's It's not going to matter because we're it's going to depend on what happens with the Bears and the Packers. That's what's going to matter. Lions right now have Packers.
00:52:24
Speaker
Cowboys, Rams, Steelers, Vikings before they play the Bears. So they have an easier schedule. They do have an easier schedule than us. The Packers, I believe, have the hardest schedule. remain I'm looking that up as we speak because I do believe you're correct. Also, also I think the Lions lost to the Packers beginning of the year. They only did. That is correct.
00:52:46
Speaker
So thell that's why I believe why we want the Packers to win. Yep. Packers play Lions and then it's Bears, then Broncos, Bears, Ravens, Vikings, which are the Ravens. That's another whole story that we didn't even get to talk about. The fact that they're. Yeah, you're welcome, Ravens.
00:53:02
Speaker
um Because of us, you're number one. Well, I wouldn't say because of us, but. Literally beat the number one team in the division. But hey, you're full. You you were hot start. and Your finish is shit. But it's OK. We're still here. still moving along.
00:53:16
Speaker
Listen, I just I i don't understand why you believe in stats. He believes in his gut. No, but I mean, my gut has been fairly accurate this season. I just i you need to explain it to like a kid. And to me, like if the Bears lose and Lions win and you said that the Bears went out, that it's not going to matter.
00:53:36
Speaker
You really don't, we don't think the Bears going to win out. So that's why that statement is irrelevant. You're saying that it's going to go on the last game. The last game is not going to matter. If the Bears lose three straight and then they beat the Lions, that it's a hypothetical situation. It is a hypothetical, but you can't say you're saying that roll our own destiny. which that doesn't matter that That doesn't make any sense.
00:53:57
Speaker
Yes, it does. It's used in sports all the fucking time. It means that you have full control of what happens with your season. And even if they lose this game, they do. Because if they win out, which is in their control, right?
00:54:10
Speaker
They can kind of determine if they win or lose a little bit. Yeah, yeah. They have full control. They're not relying on somebody else to lose in order to win to get in. They can still win out.
00:54:21
Speaker
Even if we're tied with the Packers, we're tied with the Lions, we're still

Do Bears Control Their Playoff Destiny?

00:54:26
Speaker
tied with them. And if we beat them and we win all the games and beat them, control our own destiny, we'll get in the playoffs. I just feel like we're the fact that we're saying that the Bears could win both games against the Packers, I still don't know how I feel about that. That's that's where I'm standing on this thing.
00:54:42
Speaker
I'm just saying this game. Says the guy that just picked the Bears to beat the Eagles. On the road. Defending Super Bowl champions. do Defending Super Bowl champions means shit. It means something. Yeah. well Okay. It means nothing. Sorry. No, they've said it themselves. the The Eagles said it themselves. Of course they said it themselves.
00:55:02
Speaker
So if the players don't fucking care, why should i If the players don't care that they're the defending champions, why should I? Because it still means their team's good. find it irrelevant. All right.
00:55:15
Speaker
Let's speaking of other irrelevant things. Guys, after the episode, I'm going to like fucking show him how numbers work.
00:55:25
Speaker
Listen, I just find it very hard to believe. like ah You guys are going to sit here and say, given the history of the Bears, you think the Bears could win both games against the Packers?
00:55:38
Speaker
No. Do I think the Lions are going to win out? No. Does it fucking matter? Let's get into the fantasy. Do you understand how this works? Wait, you understand the hypothetical? What that means? understand the hypothetical, and that's why I'm saying the hypothetical is that you guys think the Bears will beat the Packers both games. It's a hypo-fucking-physical, bro. Yes, you still have to look at it that way. Why is this an issue?
00:56:02
Speaker
So it's not real. We are we are assuming. we' are like We are hoping they win. That's hypothetical. would just say they if they... They're going to play every game and they hold, they have a chance to win every game. I'm done. I'm done.
00:56:15
Speaker
Let's get into the fantasy recap. This is the dumbest conversation I think we've had in a long time. You are making it very dumb. No, I'm not.

Fantasy Football Tips & Strategies

00:56:23
Speaker
you Trust me, you are. It's two against one. How are you? It's two against one and you both are wrong.
00:56:29
Speaker
yes ah Yes. Yes. Yes. Give us a fantasy recap. Let's start with injuries. Fuck. Oh, God. I don't know if I can do this right now. Okay.
00:56:40
Speaker
o so All right. um It wasn't a terrible week on injury-wise, and none of the teams are on by this week. So hopefully your team is, you know, basically geared up for the playoffs or out of it at this point.
00:56:54
Speaker
um The top ones to probably look into quarterback-wise was Baker Mayfield hurt his non-throwing shoulder. Looks like it's non-throwing. He should be good to go, but he might be less mobile, taking less risk.
00:57:09
Speaker
It's basically a pain tolerance thing from what I've heard. That's the quarterback injury. J.J. McCarthy is concussed, but not concussed. Well, that's like good thing. I know. Not sure if he's concussed or benched, but he's completed the game and now he's concussed. So, wink, wink, he's concussed. Running back injury, Alvin Kamara looks like he will be out this week. And, like, they're talking about i r possibly. End of the season, they have nothing to play for.
00:57:34
Speaker
um this is These are like probably smaller issues. They'll probably play this week, but both Gentty and Judkins left the game. Aston Gentty, the running back from the v Raiders, and Quinton Judkins, the running back from the Browns.
00:57:48
Speaker
They left the game, but they're expected to play this week, but keep an eye out if you have them on the team. Wide receiver-wise, T. Higgins is out this week. They play on Thursday. um couple of other injury situations that are probably good to monitor is DK Metcalf was in and out of the game. Again, looks like he will play this week, but keep an eye on that injury report. Rashi Rice, too, has a hamstring thing, but he's expected to play. keep He was limited in Monday's practice. um ah Some good news injury-wise, these people were out in Week 12, but they are likely playing Week 13.
00:58:23
Speaker
ah Quarterback Joe Burrow for the Bengals, quarterback Aaron Rodgers for the Steelers, Josh Jacobs, um running back for the Packers, Trey Benson from Cardinals, Bucky Irving, Isaiah Pacheco, Irving from the Tampa Bay, and Isaiah Pacheco for the Kansas City. All running backs, mostly expected to come back and play this week.
00:58:44
Speaker
um quick Quick hitter in waiver wires. I'll probably give you a name each. Just keep an eye out because waivers probably run by before you listen to this episode. But in case you catch it, Brissette is still out there in a lot of leagues.
00:58:58
Speaker
ah With the Cardinals, he's he's you know he's heartless. He throws 50 times a game. Make sure you have a good fantasy day. I'm starting him in a couple leagues. If you need him, he's still out there at about 50% of the leagues.
00:59:11
Speaker
Running back wise, Devin Neal will be filling up for Kamara. Again, he won't be like slam dunk RB1, but someone you can keep an eye on. Chris Rodriguez from the Commanders is coming back from the buy too.
00:59:23
Speaker
um He had a bigger role right before the buy. So there's a good chance he will give you again RB3, RB2, top end value. Wide receiver wise, there may be some value here. Josef Vaz, Andre Josef Vaz from the Bengals, is he replaced ah Chase last game. He'll be replacing T. Higgins this game. Had a decent game.
00:59:45
Speaker
um Troy Franklin coming back from the bye as well. He was on fire right before he went on bye. Chimere Dike is another guy you can look up from the Tennessee Titans. I know Tennessee Titans and fantasy don't jive, but that man had a punt return touchdown and another touchdown, I believe, last game. He's been on fire.
01:00:03
Speaker
um Someone to look into if you're desperate and wide receiver. Colston Loveland is probably the best tight end pickup out there. Breton Strange came back from IR, had a decent game for the Jacksonville Jaguars if you're desperate.
01:00:18
Speaker
This is probably the best defensive week out there if you need somebody. You have like probably four teams you can pick up and play. You can pick up the Chargers who play the Raiders. You can pick up the Falcons who play the Jets.
01:00:31
Speaker
You can pick up Miami who play the Saints. Or you can pick up the Jaguars who play the Titans. Any of those plays should be a decent floor play. People, any thoughts? Anyone I missed?
01:00:42
Speaker
I'm still riding high on my New England defense pick. I think they also had another great week. They haven't been good the last few weeks. actually I think they got like over 10 this week, didn't this week they? week they had a touchdown.
01:01:00
Speaker
I'm still... Where are they ranked right now? What's their... Do anyone know off the top of their head? Defense? Yeah, the defense. Not good. I mean, from a fantasy perspective? Probably top 10. Yeah. Like, defensive-wise, there hasn't been, like... You know, in fantasy, you get, like, 20 points, 15 points defensive.
01:01:18
Speaker
There hasn't been many of those plays, at least not the run of them. going say, I know, like, Pittsburgh was a high number when the Fantasy League started. um i can't recall who was the other defense. Denver and Seattle are the two good defenses.
01:01:33
Speaker
but and from They get the sacks. Houston is on fire right now. Houston, too. At the beginning of the year, who were who were the heavy favorites of the defensive end? Are they there now? Denver, Ravens. Minnesota. Minnesota.
01:01:46
Speaker
I think Texans were up there too. there No, Texans, like, like but I don't know. Minnesota, people were really high on. And yeah it's pretty like funny how bad they are considering how great they were last year.
01:02:01
Speaker
All right, and that is... mccarthy That is the fantasy section. We need to wake up nine, you know? Wake up nine. i don't know what that means.
01:02:12
Speaker
Oh, man. Look, via the internet, that's his alter ego, supposedly. When he, like, takes over games, it's called nine. That's his persona. Okay, I was going to ask you about that. I've heard about that a lot, but I didn't know. I knew it was associated with him. I didn't think it was, like, directly associated with him I just want to ask him what game because he didn't do much in college either. So when did Knight come out? I mean, he only won a national championship, but yeah, yeah he didn't do anything. Apparently that doesn't matter because he's sucking it up in the NFL.
01:02:41
Speaker
Well, you said the defending champion doesn't count, so what does this matter? I mean, that's that stays within line. Like, i i don't I don't know what to tell you. All right, boys, great episode today. Ryan Poles, it doesn't matter if he wins Super Bowl. You're talking about a quarterback here and then they're off the office side of things. I think that's two different things.
01:03:03
Speaker
Exactly. Hypothetically, though, guys. Is that proving my point?
01:03:09
Speaker
You're just saying shit to say shit. What were you going to say, Boobin, before we end it? Hypothetically, let's end the show.
01:03:19
Speaker
You're an idiot. all right. Uh, boys, we have to figure out what we're doing for our schedule since this game is going to be on Friday. we'll talk about that offline, but, um, thank you guys so much for listening. Please hit the like and subscribe button.
01:03:31
Speaker
Give us some comments. We'll try to share them at the beginning of the episode next week. Uh, with that, we are going to call it a night. Thank you guys so much for joining us. Mate. Well, that's the wrong jingle.
01:03:43
Speaker
got to go back to this one.
01:03:47
Speaker
Maybe someday in near future we can have some positivity coming out of Chicago sports with the 8-3 NFC North leading Chicago Bears. But until then, we are going to suffer together in misery with all the hypotheticals possible.
01:03:59
Speaker
On that note, we say goodbye. night. Bye-bye. Gobble, gobble.
