Introduction and Match Overview

Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Daily Manchester United. Happy New Year, welcome back, and a point against Liverpool. We speak to you live after, after kick-off, about 15 minutes after kick-off, in fact. It's myself, Kieran McGinley, and I'm delighted to say I'm joined by the Mr. Dan Dada. Dan, how are you, sir? How are you after that game?
00:00:28
Daniel
I'm good, I'm good, I'm good. I could have been better if I could put it in the back of the net, but I'm great now.
00:00:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
on yeah yeah Yeah, me too. I think the whole house heard that Maguire was the one that was on the end of that one. But nevertheless, that's for the second half. We'll start at the first half. We'll start at the very start.

First Half Highlights

00:00:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I think this was a game where actually Manchester United came to play. And Amorim had been in the press saying, you know, we could be in a relegation battle here. So going into this I'm thinking this is a siege environment now we are backs against the wall this is going to be a horrendous game to watch but I think after that first off I was very encouraged it was a great 45 minutes for United.
00:01:06
Daniel
I think even towards the end of the first half, we were pretty decent. I think the first, maybe like 15, 30 minutes, they were all over us. I'm thinking, oh, yeah, here we go. Liverpool versus United at Anfield. It's going to be another one of these days. But, you know, they clawed it out and we got to a half time at 0-0. And I was quite surprised. I think we defended very well in the first half and we created a few chances for ourselves as well.
00:01:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think as well there were a couple of chances that Liverpool had from range, which is where we exactly we want to have them. But a big chance in that game fell the way of Diallo.
00:01:36
Daniel
Yeah.
00:01:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it was almost like he ran too far forward. It is quite confusing because it's a brilliant ball from Diallo from the left to ping it into the middle of the box. It's precisely where you want a cross to be.
00:01:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it's almost like I can't tell if Amand just ran past it or if he always intended to sort of head it backwards. But it was a bit of an awkward one and a bit of an awkward landing for him.
00:02:00
Daniel
I think he had ran past the ball. In that position I looked at it, I watched it a couple of times. I think maybe he probably expected it to be drilled across the ground and it would just be an easy tapping for him. So he's probably ran past the ball because even if you've run past it and it's drilled on the ground, you can still easily readjust your body. Whereas in the air, you kind of have to readjust the ball. It was a bit different. So I think he's ran past the ball and yeah, we saw that he's put the ball a bit wayward.
00:02:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, a little bit. I mean, that that came with a flurry of chances at both ends. I mean, this was a fantastic match match to watch, to be honest with you. It was brilliant stuff. I mean, there were tackles flying in as well. We have to, you know, Delict and Martinez and Maguire when when they were all firing all cylinders. They pretty much got every tackle inch perfect. It was wonderful to watch.
00:02:46
Daniel
great to that yeah the whole back line they were great to be a massively great under pressures that lot he was good up and down the pitch and the three centre backs yeah they were quality obviously a few mistakes were made but we'll get into that one yeah um other than that i figure forget like you said they were rock solid it at the back even lenny ora came on as well we'll speak a bit about but him later on down the line as well i figure yeah The centre backs were all solid today. Yagate helped out a lot, mainly as well, who I've been critical of, how oh good he is at tackling. He was great as well. He was all driving, getting us out of pressure. So, yeah.
00:03:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
He got stuck in. That was the main thing. yeah You could tell this was a derby. At long last, this Liverpool Manchester United rivalry is never never being you know quashed at this point with tackles like that flying.
00:03:22
Daniel
Yeah.
00:03:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I mean, both teams were up for this one. And and and I had my worries. you know I had the whole of the new year looking at this fixture in particular and thinking, oh, no, here we go. This could be easily six or seven.
00:03:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
But I'll be honest with you, we came out of the blocks there. ah that's That's the best first half I've seen in United all this season. i've I've spoken so much about how we do not start matches well, but that was the perfect foundation for us to really, you know, grab the game by the scruff of its neck. And maybe at niline, I was probably a little bit disappointed that we hadn't taken the lead because Arna slot is really good at getting into halftime and assessing and pretty much breaking down what the other team has done in 15 minutes to a side. In fact, less than 15 minutes to a side.
00:04:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
So it's almost like you're on the back foot if you're going in Neil Neil against Anna Slots Liverpool. And I had a little bit of worry about that coming into the second half. But overall, I mean, brilliant first half, the best first half I've seen United play all season. And that's saying something.
00:04:26
Daniel
I agree with you. Yeah, like you said, it was probably the best first half that man you've played all season. and I think that the main thing for us fans, what we want to see is just, we just want to see some effort. And today it just looked like they actually showed some sort of effort guys were out there. They they were putting in tackles and it just, it just looked like they wanted to be on the football pitch today.
00:04:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, this was, again, I was wondering how Amorim was going to have that reaction, you know, that he was saying that this could be a relegation battle. We're lacking leaders. But it it seemed to actually, if anything, light a fire underneath them. I mean, that first half against Newcastle was pathetic. And I'm quick to so say that they probably should have given back half their wages for that performance alone.
00:05:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
But they certainly made up for it today. you As you said, they work for the ball. It actually looked like they wanted to be there. It actually looked like they were going to put some effort in. And my goodness, they gave us a 90 minutes. And as you said, Dad, we'll focus on the second half because that's where all the goals are. But strictly on the first half, we get to Neil Mill. And I'm actually thinking, yeah, OK, this is good. But I was still slightly nervous for that second half.
00:05:29
Daniel
no i agree like life he said um amain said at his conference I think maybe before we said it was the intention to get something out of his place. I think it isn't because he's always said the right thing and I think he's done it again here where he's he's kind of said oh yeah we're in a relegation battle to make the players think oh okay cool with that.
00:05:44
Daniel
We need to get, you know, we need to stop playing Manchester United football club. Can't be in a relegation battle. He said we lacked leaders. And I think we saw, we saw leaders on the pitch today. Bruno, his leadership has been pretty poor this season. Three red cards for a Man United captain has been poor in one season before, before January. Maguire, he looked like a leader from the back today as well. lied I think he's been pretty solid as a, leader ah even in the leadership role as a defender this whole season, I think he's been pretty good. So we we were seeing leaders on the pitch today. And I think, I think that's what he wanted to do. I think with that interview is he wanted to get, um You know, some something out of this place is and I think it did work.
00:06:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah I wonder how much as well Maguire obviously coming into this match given a one year extension hadn't that triggered in his contract. I wonder how much of a boost that would have been for him that Amorim's got the faith in him to continue on for the rest of this season and into next as well.
00:06:30
Daniel
No, yeah, I've been quite high on my boy. I'm not one of the people, who as much as he's made mistakes for throughout the years, and I feel ah for like, especially early in his career, playing with Lindeloch, I didn't think it was the best partnership. Two very slow guys trying to play a high line. and it just wouldn't it was It was never going to work, but I think within the right system, i see you as we see for England, when he played in that free for England during Euro 2020, when he's played in the World Cup 2022,
00:06:52
Daniel
With the right people next to him, the right people around him, he's going to play well, because I think he is so there is a reason why we paid that much money for him in the first place, even though you know it might have been a bit of an overpay, but he was worth a pretty bit of penny. Man, see, we're interested in him. He was a good center back at Leicester, so I just feel like we're starting to see some of the best of Maguire. At times, he's he still can make be rash and make a few mistakes, but we're goingnna see I think we are seeing the best of Maguire at this point.
00:07:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, I've just come through on the Premier League's app on my phone that Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has been voted man of the match. I'm not sure I agree with that one. I'm sure when we get to the second half, Dan, we can unpack that entirely. So let's give ourselves a stew over that for a minute. And whilst you stew over that, we'll have a little bit of a break. We'll be back after this.

Second Half Drama

00:08:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
And the second half is where the fun began. Let's talk through, we take the lead Anfield through Martinez of all people to get us off and running. Losandro Martinez from the back scoring his first goal and I believe they set a calendar year on Sky Sports. I mean, what a time to pick it out.
00:08:40
Daniel
think, yeah, he scored big goals against big teams. I think that's the second goal in the Premier League from Manchester United. The first one, I think, was against Arsenal in that game where Ashford scored as well. And again, he's popped up again in a big game against Liverpool. And um what a goal it was. When it hit when it was when the ball was played through to him, and I was thinking, I do back Los Angeles because he does have a lot of technical ability. So I thought that maybe he would be able to strike a ball, and but I didn't think he would strike it like that. Top of the roof, he's out to be smashed And plus, I think before that, I think the 30th minute in the first half, they said that Manu hadn't scored at Anfield for nine hours of football or something. But it's to go ahead like that, I think it it was just amazing. um I was screaming down the house. It it was amazing.
00:09:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Me too, me too. I celebrated quite hard that goal, I'll be honest with you. I haven't celebrated like that for a goal in a long, long time. I mean, it's just that recycle of play from Fernandez to lay it off to Martinez, and I'm thinking he's going to find either Heuland in the middle. No, he just he just smashes it himself. It hits the crossbar. As you say, Alison's got absolutely zero chance of saving that one. Martinez has just hit that with such power Very few keepers, if any, are actually going to stop that shot.
00:09:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
What a way to get us 1-0 up. And again, that was a case of we've got the lead now. We have to try and hang on to it. ah Not six or seven minutes later, a penalty conceded by Delict.
00:09:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now, what's your thought?
00:09:59
Daniel
Oh, I think the per goal first, I'm pretty sure, before the penalties.
00:10:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
What's that, sorry?
00:10:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Oh, yes, sorry. Yes, you're right. It is. Oh, I see so much happen in that game. I'm a whirlwind. Yes, I'm getting ahead of myself. Yes, Gagpo. Let's talk about that goal first, because that was the equalizer.
00:10:18
Daniel
I think, was it a free kick that Maguire gave away?
00:10:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah yeah
00:10:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think that might have been after the penalty, but as yeah so much has happened in this game.
00:10:24
Daniel
ah
00:10:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's absolute whirlwind. What we do know is it's from an Ugarte clearance from that right hand side, livable recycle, and Ugarte slightly out of position, which allows Gackpo that space he cuts inside to lit tries to commit with the slide tackle, and Gackpo just simply dances past him and hits it top right hand corner.
00:10:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, you don't stop many of those. You see Onana raise a hand and just stand there like, well, that just happened, didn't it?
00:10:51
Daniel
Just like the Lissandra got it. that does There was goals in this game that was unstoppable. That finish was quality, I think. um the the The problem there for me, obviously like you said, you got tables out of position, but I think players, all they were kind of reactive more than proactive. I think when that ball got slid through to Gagfoe, everybody was thinking, oh yeah, Dilek was going to sort it out. And when Dilek's gone in and he's missed the tackle, it's now, okay, now we have to react and it was a bit slow. I feel like maybe if people were a bit proactive, maybe we but we we could have got a foot on the shot or maybe a deflection of the shot, but it was like,
00:11:24
Daniel
The finish was just wild class. He's put it in the top corner, that and no keepers probably saving that. Just let this that the sander go. No keepers saving that.
00:11:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah, I saw it and thought, well, ah yeah, that's an annoying goal to concede because it's actually quite a good one. um But there's I suppose if you're on the attacking side, there's nothing much of a better sight than seeing the defender slide across and just completely not get the ball.
00:11:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
And the attackers just still standing there like, well, I'm just going to walk through now. I imagine that's how the Liverpool fans felt there. And then finally, Anfield went into full song. um And then the penalty conceded by De Lict. Thought, Dan.
00:12:03
Daniel
Um, obviously by the letter of the Lord, I guess it is a penalty. I think his hands, he didn't have to have his hands out there. It was, it was about, it wasn't a natural position for his hands to be in. I think, yeah, that his hands were very much out. So by the letter of the Lord, it is a penalty. It's, it's, it's tough, but at the end of the day, you can't really do much about it. And Salah, again, he's on me. So he's in the hot form. I'm not very big on Salah, but scores this penalty. I think Anana always got a hand to the penalty as it was, but yeah, like I said, i didn't i didn't there's not really much you can say about the penalty. I think it is a penalty by the letter of the law, but yeah.
00:12:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was furious with it because it was just, it's one of those where it's all okay if it's for you, but if it's against you, it's like, why? Why? Why is that a thing? But yeah, I suppose as you say, you've taught me round now, letter of the law does say that it's a penalty. I suppose it is a penalty. And yeah, I mean, it's dispatched by Salah. Thank goodness that's the last goal I'll ever a score against United because he's leaving at the end of the season. He's told Sky Sports News that and that's that. So, you know,
00:13:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
it's It's a case of that. And at that point, Liverpool were absolutely on top. And I just thought, this is this has been a common theme now. we've We go behind, and that's where we struggled. That's where that siege mentality comes in at the wrong time. We start to get a lot of pressure against us. And then Amrim suds on Gonaccio.

Game-Changing Substitution

00:13:30
Daniel
That was our house. I have been ah gone. Actually, hey, I thought about the last four. five However, Aaron made a genius decision. I think Kobe was probably tired. He's taking them off. He's moved brener a bit further back where he's able to dictate the game a bit more. Play those long passes that he likes.
00:13:48
Daniel
in a position where, you know, we have runners like Garnaxo and Ahmad being able to run and yeah, it was literally that the ball's gone to Bruno, Bruno's found Garnaxo and Garnaxo, he's done it, he's worked a bit on the side and he's found Ahmad and what a quality finish from Ahmad it was.
00:14:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
brilliant it's sort of that cut back and it's it's just a man in that little bit of your space, you know, one or two yards of space. That's all he needed to just slot it past Allison. And yeah, it's ah it's a great finish. It's a great bit of play as well ah from Garnaccio. And yeah, I have to say Garnaccio just changed that little bit of pace for us. He was very lively. He's had his criticisms, but my goodness, he he put it in a shift at the towards the end of that game. And then you had the tackles flying in. Jorro came on for to lift as well. he put in a fan fantastic tackle and it had to be an inch perfect tackle because I thought, at first though, diving in there in the penalty spot, I thought, oh, you've already we've already conceded a cover against Liverpool from the spot. We don't need another one. But you look back at it, it is inch perfect tackle from Euro.
00:14:47
Daniel
i knew what i was doing it when i put him on my top ten french players but
00:14:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah yeah Looking back at that now, that was a very smart decision. Yes, yes. I still berate you for it, but a smart decision now and it is coming to fruition. Oh, dearie bee.
00:15:02
Daniel
I think Trent was absolutely poor today. He couldn't make a tackle, he was out of position. And Man United made full exposure of that. We consistently paid down that left side. Garnaccio came on and he, again, he just made, the goal came from Trent making a mistake again. It's just being, like I said about Man United, he was being very reactive instead of being proactive. The Bruno goal, he just, he literally would let Bruno walk past him, slide it through his defender and his handers at the finish. I think Trent was so poor today and Man United made full advantage of it
00:15:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I'm surprised with Slott's ruthless nature that he kept TA on for so long. That was my that was my sort of big, well, I'm not going to say gripe because I was happy with it. But you know when Connor Bradley came on, he shored up the fence that defense so much. But look, we've avoided talking about it a lot now. ah fine Pretty much the final kick of the game falls to McGuire. And it bubbles up. It bubbles up. And he's missed it.
00:16:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
oh
00:16:03
Daniel
I said to my friend, literally straight after, I said, obviously I play football and I'm a striker. I said that in that position if I was sexy, he might not be the most confident, as especially with everything, you know, the Newcastle game and everything that's been going on with him. And maybe that's why he didn't shoot. But in that position as a striker, I'm shooting and I'm dealing with the consequences at the end of the day. But he's done the right thing. He's played it to Maguire and unfortunately it's just bounced in front of Maguire and Maguire's scared over the bar.
00:16:29
Daniel
Again, I'm not too mad about it. As much as I think, OK, cool, we could have won the game. I'm very excited. I was very impressed with the performance, especially playing against, you know, the team that's probably the team that's top of the league. And people are saying that are the best team in the world right now.
00:16:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I have to say, yeah, it was, I think when Maguire missed, I think, again, the whole house knew that it was Maguire who had missed. um But at the end of the day, to get a point against Liverpool in this in this rivalry of 100 odd years is is pretty good. It feels good. The fact that we're so still bottom half the table, we've managed to steal points off of Liverpool in a really good game. I mean, the neutrals were having a good game as well.
00:17:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, not for us, by the way, you know, up and down, up and down. But you're right. This was a game that I finally thought, yes, we're in with a shout of actually getting three points here. And although we come away with one, that's one more point that I thought we were going to come into today.
00:17:24
Daniel
I agree.
00:17:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, look, we'll talk about sort of individual players who we think Madder the match was because I disagree with Salah being on the Premier League app. But let's talk about that after this.
00:17:46
Daniel

Global Sports Podcast Network
I think you and I, Dan, were talking about before we pressed the record button. Who do we actually pick out as our man at the match? Because this they all put in a shift. Every single player that cabled to this pitch felt like they were earning their place. And my goodness, I can't really fault anybody out there, to be honest.
00:18:31
Daniel
I agree with you. I think, personally for me, I think it we were the two people in the engine room, mainly when, and, um, you gotta say they, they worked their socks off today, mainly going forward, getting us out of pressure. There was times where he was just saying, give me the ball and I'll, I'll, I'll work something and I'll get, I'll get us out of pressure. I'll take on a few players and I guess I want a free kick or something. And then, um, you got it on the other side, just constantly winning the ball back, winning the ball back, winning the ball. And he's like, even him taking on a few players and, you know, just keeping it ticking at times. I think those two for me were probably the man of the match.
00:18:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I have to give out a shout out to Fernandez. but we He's one of the first that we are quick to criticise in terms of creativity and Hollywood passes, but that deeper role really does suit him. And the bull was just stuck to his feet. Wherever he dribbled, that bull was going with him. No one was getting him off it. He was absolutely fantastic today in helping facilitate that play. And if he is to be brought deeper into that role, already I'm seeing the encouraging signs of the long balls he likes to play from deep in midfield are really going to you know take a good effect here. Dallow as well, Diego Dallow, I thought he had a good game as well. The crosses he was putting in were pretty much inch perfect and it was just a case of either no one could get there or you know it's a case of not the greatest positioning in the world from the attacker on the end of the cross. So yeah again,
00:19:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
You had some game changes in there as well. Goan Acho coming on, put in a shift. Lenny Yoro putting in a tackle. There was also that tackle that Maguire made shortly after the penalty against Liverpool right on the edge of the box. That was a good tackle and some for some reason he's given us a free kick, but I thought Maguire was fantastic today. He was brilliant on the pitch.
00:20:05
Daniel
um' Like I said, I'm a big fan of him. I think he's very much overhated by the Manchester United fan base, roughly. So obviously he has had his rough periods of but bad decisions, bad mistakes, but I think he's a solid centre back and I'm happy that he's got that one year extension.
00:20:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah as part of that back three he really is you know forming into his own there you know with that with either the two centre backs alongside him or just being a part of that back three really allows him to shine it really does and i'm excited to see you know over this season and and next to see you know, can finally get into this role that we know he's capable of, to be that menace in the air, menace in tackles, and just to give everything he can to the badge. Lenny Yoro coming on for Delict, I think Delict had a really good game as well, but Lenny Yoro to give us that stability at the back. And at such a young age to be diving in at a tackle in 80 plus minutes and just sort of getting that tackle absolutely spot on. I forget the Liverpool player that he tackled because I was just so focused on Lenny Yoro and it's like, Don't give away the penalty now! But no, I should have never had any doubts about that one brilliant tackle.
00:21:10
Daniel
No, he was quality. I think even on the ball as well, he played for that one 50 yard ping out to go on that show. Obviously got.
00:21:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes.
00:21:17
Daniel
ah its age He looks like he's coming into his soul. i think he or Coming back from injury, he had a 3-4 month layoff of injury and he's still got a young play. He hasn't played much professional football but at the highest level, so I think he's coming into himself. As the games go on, we're going to see the best event in Europe.
00:21:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Xerxes as well, I think, but he was brought on. And let's just say it was a rough game for him at Newcastle. You know, he was brought off, hauled off before half time. And that's a fate worse than death for a football player, especially for an attacker. But I think that the the couple of chances he did have there was that you know, I thought 30, 40 yard pass cross field that he managed to make to swap the wing and at first I thought he's misplaced that pass but then I look at it and the camera pans and it's like oh no he's actually he's actually picked out a really good pass there to keep the attack going and as as you say as a striker's instinct there in the 90th a 97th minute you think I'm gonna try and tuck this away but I think it just shows you how lacking in confidence he is that he feels need to pass it across to our centre back

who's who's barreling up there to try and get probably if he gets his head on it that's getting into the back of the net but unfortunately it's a bubble from the pitch um and that such is the way but I think a thoroughly enjoyable match now that I look back at it now that it's over and a thoroughly deserved point and maybe we could have had all three.

No, I agree with you. Definitely. are I very much enjoyed the game. I was messaging my friend, who's a United fan, all throughout the game. We were both excited because at church today, we were talking about him and thinking, oh, this could get rough for us. We were speaking to one of our friends at church. He's a Liverpool fan. And he was laughing at us, thinking, yeah, like they're going to have a comfortable way. And he was saying nothing less than 4-0. I said, OK, we'll see when the game finishes. But yeah, I finally enjoyed the game today. so

would have loved a 3-2, but I'll settle for a 2-2, that's for sure. I mean, we've gone through all of those players, Dan, and we still have to pick out a player who is our man of the batch. Where do we start?
00:23:11
Daniel
Like I said, it was in the midfield, but I'm more edging towards you.

Yeah, I think besides that slight out of position he had that led to the first goal, I think to be honest with you, Gackpro has that space and it's such a good finish that you know even if he had if he if didn't have that space, Gackpro might have found a way past. There's so many good options out there, isn't there? I think Fernandez deserves a mention. Obviously, Ahmad, our star man, getting along to the score sheet today, he played a good game. but I think, yeah, why not? We've we've spoken about Agate and how he struggled recently, or at least £50 million pounds to come in from PSG, to really hit the ground running was a bit of a difficulty for him, but he put in a fantastic shift today. I'm happy to go with you, Dan. let Let's go with Agate as our man of the match. There you go.

Dan, until next time, I guess, our next fixture. I think it's Arsenal next, isn't it? I have to look now, which is a worrying concern. But, I mean, what what have you made from today? what's What's been the sort of big, big takeaway from today's game?
00:24:16
Daniel
was going to mention, I think Amran did say in this um press conference, this is the first time since he's been a where Manu have been able to train twice in one week. So it's showing that like, obviously, the more training sessions he's able to have, I think I actually saw something today, I saw more of a style of play, you know, how we want to play football, the transitions look good, the defense, like defensively, we look good, I think with more training sessions and more time with the team, and as we get better players, I think what he's going to show that This system's going to work. All these people telling him that, oh, yeah, like he needs to change the system so he can get more points. And I just graph think that's that rubbish. I think he's not coming to get points to be managed tonight. He's managing them. So bring his own style of play. Bring his own system. I i don't think he should switch out for anything.

Yeah. I mean, he did say as well, ah the question of to being, you know, going back to the old system, he said, well, the old system was not getting results. So why i would I go back to something that didn't work? It doesn't make any sense, you know. And I think really, really today, the system was starting to show that promise. And if we can get those results as well, you know, we've got ah FA Cup Arsenal away in the third round on the 12th of January. So we've got a week to prepare ourselves for that game. And then on the 16th of January, we've got Southampton at home in the Premier League. that has to be a win against Southampton. I will accept nothing less, not even a draw. I won't accept it. And if we can start to click over these next couple of games, Arsenal in the FA Cup, Southampton at home in the Premier League, Brighton at home in the Premier League on the 19th of January, I think we've got half a chance of getting back into the top half. Please get us back in the top half. Oh dear.

Well, Dan, it's been a pleasure to share the mic with you. I mean, I wasn't expecting to get a point away from this. I'm smiling from ear to ear after that one.

Deary me. Anyway, Dan, thank you so much for joining me. It's been a pleasure to have you alongside. And it's a pleasure to have you listening in as well. Happy New Year. I won't say Niall's line. I'll leave that to him at some point. But certainly we've got a point against Liverpool. And I don't think any of us could have really expected that heart to heart. From myself, Kieran, and from Dan alongside, we'll talk to you soon. Have a great rest of your day.
