Speaker: I'm launching this podcast at the end of Black History Month, 2023, really purposefully because February is that time when there's a lot of focus on us as Black folk. Everyone is really interested in hearing our stories, hearing our journeys. However, a lot of that dissipates after February. We are Black every day. We are Black

Speaker: in February, in March, in December, throughout the year. And so this podcast is really keeping that fire burning where we have a space to openly talk about some of the issues that we are facing, as well as some of the ways in which we are overcoming and we are shining. This podcast is also about highlighting Black excellence. Black excellence is so important to us. For so long, Black people have been stereotyped,

Speaker: have been put in boxes. And we have found ways to overcome. We have found ways to triumph. We have found ways to redefine and retell that story, whether that's black girl magic, whether that's black girl joy or black boy joy, whether that's black excellence. And so in this podcast, we will celebrate the wins with the hope of allowing that next generation to see themselves, but also

Speaker: to dream bigger and to jump and grow from our shoulders so i invite you to connect with me on social media you can find the podcast page on instagram at careerslay talks

Speaker: The views that I share on this podcast are my personal views. They do not reflect the views of my employer, and I am not speaking in the capacity of my professional role. These are purely my personal opinions, as well as those of the guests that I invite. And I also want to disclaim that I do not always share the same perspectives of the guests that come into the show, but I look forward to opening up and inviting diverse folks to share diverse opinions.

Speaker: and for us to learn together. I'm looking forward to sharing a broad range of guests who will share their expertise, their personal journeys, as well as the path that they've taken to get to where they are. I'm also looking to share my own expertise as a certified resume and career strategist on practical tips and ways in which you can really set yourself up to get to that next level.

Speaker: I'm so excited for you to follow along on this journey, and I encourage you to follow the podcast wherever you get your podcasts from, whether that's Spotify, Apple, or Google, and let's slay together.
