Host Introduction and Health Check

00:00:39
Speaker
Hello, welcome to Games Over Plastic, the agnostic gamers podcast. I'm your host for this week because our normal host is feeling a little under the weather, so we're going let him voice his, uh, rest his voice a little bit. I am Hodge hosting this week, but joined as always by our normal host, Midnight. How are you doing other than not feeling so hot?
00:00:57
Speaker
Yeah, I'm doing great. Yeah, my, ah I don't know if I'm starting to get sick or what. I hope not. But yeah, I got that the throats and voices going on. Last night I was feeling a little nauseous for some reason. I don't know why.
00:01:09
Speaker
um i didn't throw up. but i was feeling Maybe I'm pregnant. Yeah, I don't know. might be ah evening sickness. Who knows? But ah yeah, I don't know. Like I just ended up taking a bunch of medicine medicine to help me sleep and passed out. So here I am.
00:01:23
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. We're happy were happy you're able to make it. We were starting to worry you you weren't responding until we were like, did midnight die? Not yet, not yet. Thankfully you're

Weather and Sports Talk

00:01:33
Speaker
good. But also joining, as always, is the Master Baker himself, Sean Mason. How are you, friend?
00:01:39
Speaker
I'm doing great. Preparing for the big snowstorm that's coming to Massachusetts tomorrow. It'll 15 to 24 inches of snow starting at midday Sunday and going all the way to pretty much all day Monday. It's kind of disappointing we don't get the AFC championship game in New England because it would have, it's supposed to start like right when the kickoff is. That would be really that would have been epic. Yeah, that would have been, that would have been crazy. Yeah, you're, you're the only one with your team still alive. All three of our teams. I didn't realize all three of our teams actually made the playoffs this year, but, Midnight's choked first round. Mine choked second round. And yours is probably going to walk to the Super Bowl because the Patriots are playing a backup quarterback.
00:02:22
Speaker
Listen, I don't ever count out Denver. won four all-time in the playoffs. I won four all-time in the playoffs at Denver. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah. My team always chokes first round in the playoffs now. So yeah maybe that'll change in the future. New coaching and stuff. We'll see.
00:02:38
Speaker
Yeah. didnt time Didn't you retire? Yeah. he he He's gone. the year He's taking the year off. you i don't I don't know. if I don't know if it was his choice or or he asked to lee for what, but either way. Yeah. He's, he stepped down.
00:02:51
Speaker
Um, then was going say, um, yeah, there's a lot of stuff going around. There's so many kids were absent this week just from being sick. Um, A lot of stuff's going around. You need beaver nuggets. That's year.
00:03:03
Speaker
Yeah, I don't have any beaver nuggets, and I ran out of emergency, you know, that little powder stuff to boost your your vitamin C. I'm out of it, so I'm i'm screwed. probably going to die, but hey, here we are. Yeah, we've had ah I've had a lot of coworkers out sick recently. A couple of them had like legit COVID. They tested positive for COVID, and some were just you know feeling out weather and whatnot. Yeah.

Gaming Updates and Reviews

00:03:24
Speaker
Yeah, anyway, let's ah let's talk some Vigigames, shall we? Yeah.
00:03:30
Speaker
All right, so what we've been playing, I'm not going say anything. I've been really quickly, I've just been playing Final Fantasy XVI. I haven't gotten to it too much. I've been pretty busy and then playing Fortnite as per usual. So I don't have too much to add, so I'm just going to skip over me for this week. But ah Midnight, what have you been playing?
00:03:49
Speaker
Yeah, actually, I don't have a whole lot to add yet either because I haven't beaten this game yet, but I will talk briefly about it and then I'll talk more about it when I beat it. But I'm playing Yakuza 5 right now. I'm playing it on PC Master Race. Shout out to Steam for the nice sale. Got it on a nice sale.
00:04:06
Speaker
And, uh, cat recording. two So, uh, yeah, it's pretty good. I'm enjoying it. I think that this is probably the worst reviewed, but worst liked game of the series. And so far I am agreeing. I actually do like the story. It's really cool, but this is the longest one. It feels a little bit.
00:04:25
Speaker
bloated. I think this is like a 36 hour campaign, whereas usually the Yakuza games are like 20 hours. So it's like almost a double feature. um But it is good. I mean, the story has been good. I am intrigued, um but I will be happy when it's over just so I can move on to my next game. But I mean, so far, so good. You know, it's Yakuza. Combat's fun. The story is really good. And with the wacky side stuff, you know how it is. So and I'll leave it there for now until I beat it that Is that the one that is the diaper people?
00:04:54
Speaker
yeah Yeah, I haven't seen any diaper people this time, but I'm not doing any of the side stuff. I'm mainlining the story because I just want to be done with it. But yeah, Yakuza is the series that is known for like those weird, wacky, stupid side quests, which does sometimes feature like people who wear a diaper, childlike adults. That's their fetish. They act like babies. don't know. It's so weird.
00:05:17
Speaker
Yeah, Japan's weird. this Yeah. I mean, I'd love to go one day, but it is weird. Yeah. And they got, they got like dudes that like steal panties and stuff. Like it's just weird stuff, man. i don't know. We have that in America too. Yeah. Fun fact, actually ah my fraternity from college at, like I was, I was in a fraternity, ah but ah my school didn't have national chapters. We were just the only at my school was where our,
00:05:45
Speaker
like frat existed and my frat actual the one i was in invented the panty raid back in the 1940s they were the first ones to ever do it and so i was like oh there's our claim to fame of breaking into women's dorms and stealing their underwear wow nice yeah no when i said that i meant i meant that's actually in the game like in the yakuza games they have panty thieves that you have to track down and catch and they have stalkers and they have these weird stuff man that's crazy like gta Yeah, like exactly like GTA.
00:06:17
Speaker
Yeah. Game of the year GTA. Yeah. Nice. ah Sean, if you have anything to add to you, I've never obviously played a Yakuza game. So if you have anything to add, otherwise we can get into your games you've been playing. All right, I'm going to continue. I talked about last week Nicktoon's Dice of Destiny. I do want to say I did platinum it.
00:06:37
Speaker
Very fun game. Again, it's just basically Diablo Nickelodeon style, which was awesome. um I really liked it. It was super fun. um I ended up playing mainly as Sandy Cheeks. She had like some pretty awesome weapons. She was she was awesome. Final, I'm not going to spoil anything because I know the plot's very ah you know integral here. And I know, Hodge, you're really looking forward to this game. But the final boss is pretty crazy. Actually, it's ridiculously crazy. Not really.
00:07:10
Speaker
Yeah, and some of the worlds you go through are pretty awesome too. Like you go through Fairy World, you go through like, you know, like the Kelp Forest and SpongeBob. There's a lot of like the diverse levels. You go through Retroville and, you know Jimmy Neutron, all that stuff. It's really cool.
00:07:23
Speaker
um ah Danny Phantom was pretty fun to play. I ended up't having to play with everyone because one of the trophies is um using like that. they have like ah You have like an ultimate finisher with each character. And like one of the trophies is using that ultimate finisher kill 50 enemies with each character. And some of them are pretty cool.
00:07:41
Speaker
Some of them are much more useful, like a Hodge. Sandy Cheeks is, a um you know the hibernation episode? Yeah. Yeah. You know how she gets like really big and she's like, ah that's like her power up. She turns into that. It's pretty it's pretty awesome.
00:07:55
Speaker
It's super powerful. Jimmy Neutron is like some random gadget. um Danny Phantom, he like, you know how he can like split himself into like two different ghosts?
00:08:06
Speaker
know if you watched Danny Phantom. Well, I saw it. It was like just after my time. So I saw like a couple episodes, but it wasn't like one I was obsessed with. Well, I was really, I was a big Danny Phantom. But one of his like things in the show, he ends up being able to split himself with the two ghosts. That's his like superpower. But there's some pretty cool stuff. Tommy pickles, you know, a SpongeBob. SpongeBob, it just blows bubbles, which is hilarious. But yeah, it was overall, it really fun game. I really liked it. Yeah, it was basically Nickelodeon Diablo.
00:08:35
Speaker
funny times it's I'm happy you enjoyed it, but i I still can't get over that art style. it's so Yeah, the art style is a little off Everyone looks like a baby. Everyone listens from rugrats it looks like some Rugrats. It looks like what you'd see on like a mobile game, like that kind of art style, but at least it was fun, so that's good. And they they did have the original voice actors for a lot of the characters. Nice. It was nice. yeah i've seen Yeah. Obviously. Sorry. Sorry.
00:09:04
Speaker
I say I'm looking at it. Actually, the art style does look kind of cool. I like the Diablo look to it. You know, Diablo is kind of cool. Yeah. Like the top down look, I don't mind. But like the like the babyfication of the. Yeah. everyone wants to go Everyone looks like a Rugrats character. Yeah. It's yeah. That's just is a lot of that. I do. I like the. Yeah, the Diablo look kind of thing. I like that. but Yeah. know They call that like chibi, right? Like with the big head? Small body big head? yeah Yeah, kind of. Worst character was by far Katara. She was awful.
00:09:35
Speaker
From Avatar. Who's Katara? Oh, from Avatar. She wasn't good. I didn't really i didn't like using her. Is she the only Avatar character? i don't i mean, there's other Avatar characters in the game, but like she's the only one you can play as. They're Jake Sully?
00:09:50
Speaker
Side note, side note. Should I watch that Avatar TV show that came out recently? Was that good? The live action? You're talking about the Avatar, like the last day. Avatar last day is your live action. I think it was Netflix.
00:10:05
Speaker
Is that what it was, Netflix? You didn't watch this one? i'm not I'm not a big Avatar fan. like I really didn't like Avatar that much. i liked I think it's a little overrated, but it is good. i mean, I was surprised. at it's There's some adult themes in it a little bit. It's not like a kiddie kid show. it's yeah It was better than I expected. Definitely after book one, it definitely like it it elevates to like more of an adult.
00:10:30
Speaker
Not adult, but it gets a little bit more serious. um I liked it. i just i didn't I wasn't in love with it, and I watched it when it was coming out. like I remember when it was coming out. m Yeah, I think my younger brother liked it a lot. your're your You guys are closer in age than... i mean, he's only two years younger than me, but... yeah i remember he I remember he liked it, but the the show on Netflix, I'm pretty sure the original like writer or showrunner whatever was attached to it, and Netflix wanted to change so much that he left, so I don't know how good it is or how accurate it is, so it might be one of those that like actual fans aren't fans of.
00:11:10
Speaker
your computer crapping out midnight? No. No, I saw what Sean's playing next, so I decided to pull up Open Critic to see how it did. And I was hit with a one-two punch of bad news because it didn't score great. And another game that I picked as sitting at a 79, and I'm like, fuck.
00:11:29
Speaker
Oh. Well, you never know. We might get hit by delays, so who knows? Yeah, Arknights Enfield, that stupid pick of mine, got a 79. I'm like, oh, great.
00:11:40
Speaker
ah Anyway. Oh, well. At least, hey, if we picked more games this year, so I think the averages are going to โ€“ having a 79 isn't like a death โ€“ like it was a death blow last year if you didn't have a delay. Like to have a game in the 70s, you were kind of screwed, whereas this year it will be fine probably. I still don't know why I picked that shit. What is wrong with me?
00:12:00
Speaker
Why didn't pick that farming game? Like, I completely melted down at the end. Like, I don't know. I was looking at like the pressure. I was looking at like 15 games and I was just trying to pick one. Yeah. And I succumbed to the pressure. i was just like panic picked. ah who knows me you were like What do I do? What do i do? should take i digress saw Sean, please continue, sir. Sorry.
00:12:23
Speaker
Alright, so my next game is Legend of Heroes trails into Trails Beyond the Horizon. This is the newest game in the Legend of Heroes Trails series, and this game is the conclusion of the Calvert arc, so it's the sequel to Daybreak 1 and 2. And it is, so far, I'm about 21 hours in, um so not too far into it. um That's how I joke around. But the game is freaking unbelievable. like Amazing. A lot of cool payoff so far. It's wrapping up a lot of like the Calvary storyline. A lot of stuff they introduced in the earlier games they're kind of um coming back to. It's really cool because they're taking more like a... It's like we've seen the evolution of technology throughout the series. um And right now, like they're they're getting into like the space age where like they're going to the space and like there's like a huge like ah rocket launch going on.
00:13:16
Speaker
And like everyone's like freaking out about it because like the mafia, everyone's like, oh, the mafia is like tied to it because they're like they're somehow funding it. But like they're not supposed to be funding it. um So you're like investigating that. oh It's really cool. I'm like loving it. The combat is awesome. um They took everything from Daybreak 1 and 2 and kind of like upped it. They added some new abilities, some new shard abilities. Yeah, it' overall, i'm really enjoying it. It reminds me how much I love these characters. And a lot of them ah were were new to the Trails series back when Daybreak 1 came out. And it just reminded me of like, wow, these these characters have really grown on me, which is great. um
00:13:56
Speaker
The world's really built out, like I said. I mean, it's it's more Trails. I mean, I'm loving it. Midnight, I just want you to know that you have something to look forward to because, as Sean said, you can shart on your enemies. so Shard. Shard.
00:14:12
Speaker
All right. and well One more thing I do want to say, because I'm going to talk more about this after I beat it probably next episode. One more thing I do want to say about this is like the were the amount of detail they put in all the NPCs, like Neon Falcon, is like ridiculous. Like every NPC is like named and they all have like unique dialogue. They're not just like, oh, generic customer A, customer B, man, NPC1. Like it's not just like they're all named. They all have something to say and there's always something going on. i love it i love reading everything about it it's super fun uh one thing i will say is that um everyone jokes around about if you've played the game you i mean meatball will get this because he's currently playing game break but uh the joking about van being into his um underage co-workers is still there and uh beyond the horizon and he still gets mad about it so that's for me ball
00:15:07
Speaker
Odd. That's a little weird, but okay. yeah No, he has, he runs like you're a Spriggan, which is like you just do like odd tasks and stuff. Well, not odd. You do like stuff like under the table and like, you don't see like if people don don't want to go to the police, they come to you because like they don't want people to know about it. He's like a fixer.
00:15:24
Speaker
Yeah, he's like a fixer. And he has like ah a business and he eventually he had like um he brings people in and like work with. And one of the girls that he brought in was like an intern for him. And she was only she was like a so she's a student.
00:15:36
Speaker
And everyone was like, oh, you're dating your student. He's like, no, it's not like it's not like that. No.
00:15:43
Speaker
ah And there's ah one of your. Yeah, I mean, it's fun. Yeah. Hey, fair enough. It's sup Japan. You know, they do that. um Yeah, I am excited to get to more trails, Sean, as we know.
00:15:56
Speaker
I was a little disappointed that when I looked at Open Critic, this one has an 82, which isn't bad. It's a solid score, right? eighty Oh, the way you react, thought it was 60. Well, I don't know. I was just hoping, like, what what happened to all the people who loved Trails in the Sky first chapter so much? These Trails games routinely get 80s to 83. That's what, and the the Sky was the anomaly, and I think it was more because, oh, it's the remake of the first one, and it's like a great jumping on point. This is not like a jumping. You can't just play this game. You have to play like everything else, so it's like... no So I guess all the casuals that loved the first one didn't play this one and rate it?
00:16:29
Speaker
Pretty much, yeah. Yeah, okay. Well, I am still excited to get to it. 82 is a good score. I'm not really bashing it, but you know, I was hoping for like an 88, 90. Didn't happen. here But hey, can't wait to play more Trails later this year, Sean.
00:16:44
Speaker
Tits too. um yeah Anyway, ah so do you guys want to, unless you have anything else, shall we get into the Direct?
00:16:56
Speaker
Yeah. yeah All right. So on Thursday, if anyone listening, I'm sure anyone watching has probably watched it and or at least seen the news of the games over there. So they announced four games as per usual. I don't know why they don't just say like at this point, because they always have that secret game. I don't know why at this point they don't just say like this game, this game, this game and one other, like just to hype it up a little bit rather than just saying like, oh It's just three guys. Don't worry. It's just three. It went in three or four years in a row. They've had a secret game. we all know you have a, we have, you have another game. We all know. Yeah. Might as well just say, and one more just to, just to hype it up a little bit, even though, i don't know, I guess though, I will say with the game that was revealed, maybe if they had hyped up, like there's going to be a fourth, it might've had like a way worse reaction because I've been like, Oh, what the heck is this? Yeah. Yeah. Because we'll obviously get to it. But before we get to the individual games, what do you guys overall think of this direct midnight?
00:17:57
Speaker
We'll go to you first. what' do you think of it overall? Overall, I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed it.

Developer Direct Impressions

00:18:03
Speaker
I'm excited about two of the games. One of the games I'm somewhat interested in and the other one wasn't for me. Overall, though.
00:18:12
Speaker
Very solid, you know, eight out of 10, maybe showcase showcase, if you will. um I love these developer directs. I think it's the best format. I love that you get to hear from the developers. I like that you get like 10 minutes with each game kind of explaining it and showing a lot of gameplay. And I'd like to see more of this from other parties and and more of this from Xbox. I'd like to see PlayStation do stuff like this. I think it's cool.
00:18:36
Speaker
Yeah, I love it. I love the format. Yeah, I'm happy. I mean, it seems like this format kind of came from necessity of Xbox back when they had kind of the no games thing going like they couldn't. I mean, they do do a showcase, still but it feels like they couldn't do like a full showcase. So they would just show off like four games and then really dive into them. And that's kind of what birthed it. But Yeah, these dev directs are some of my favorite things I look forward to each year. They're really, I love the deep dives into these game games. And before we go to Sean, I'll just say really quickly, yeah, I really enjoyed the show. I'm kind of the same where it's like two these games I want to play, one I'm interested in, and one I'm like,
00:19:14
Speaker
and Maybe, but two at least. So overall, though, i think it was it was a great showing. It was probably the weakest of the secret reveals, quote unquote, that they've had. But we'll get to that, obviously, when we get to the game.
00:19:28
Speaker
ah But Sean. i know No shadow drop this time, but that's OK. Yeah, yeah. that yeah that that With Hi-Fi Rush, when that shadow dropped, that was that's probably the best one they've done. now That game was incredible. I want to play it again, actually, at some point. I love that game so much. But ah Sean, what did you think?
00:19:44
Speaker
Overall, I thought it was it was pretty good. um i have one game I'm... Well, two games I'm definitely going to play, but one's only because like I kind of have to play it now.
00:19:55
Speaker
It is Sable. I will say... It is Sable. have to play it, so I will be playing that. I am really... But like regardless, I am interested in Beast of Reincarnation just because it's like game freak and... um It kind of looks pretty cool. I mean, there's some turn. They have, like, that โ€“ obviously, we'll get into it more later. But they have, like, that turn-based aspect to it with one of those side characters. It seemed pretty cool. The other two games I have zero interest in and, like, will not โ€“ they won't even be, like, spoken. it were not even a thought to be played. but yeah It was a while they played โ€“ what is it called? What was it again? Kiln.
00:20:28
Speaker
Kiln. Kiln. clink clank whatever it's called uh that will not be played i was like all right so a nice little uh pottery friend game that seems pretty cool i guess um it's a multiplayer game and i've never i mean i kind of wish they're you know it's kind of dumb because i've never played any of their games but wouldn it wouldn't cool as they got like another like psychonauts game or another like platformer game like that or give them banjo why don't we give them banjo you know let's let's harp on that ip But no, I definitely agree with you, Hodge, though. I think that this was the weakest of the secret game. um
00:21:03
Speaker
Definitely, i was expecting a little bit more. i was actually expecting a fifth game, to be honest. I kind of was, too. Yeah. I was i thought it was gonna be like one of those like smaller, oh, and by the way, we have this, too, and this is out now. I was hoping for Diva Pinata or something. but Yeah.
00:21:19
Speaker
I was, yeah, I was kind of let down and we'll get to it when we get to kill him, but I was kind of let down by when I saw Delphine logo, I got so excited. And then that's what they showed. I was like, all right.
00:21:29
Speaker
I will say, I will say this one more time. and I'm not taking anything away from Forza. I think it looked, it looked gorgeous. it looks stunning. And I'm really happy because a lot of people are really excited for it. You know, it's set in Japan. You have like a lot of the stuff you can race that bullet train, which seemed pretty cool. Um, but like, I'm not a racing guy. So like, um,
00:21:45
Speaker
I have like no, wind my my dad's playing Forza Horizon 5 right now on PlayStation because he's never played a Forza game and it came to PlayStation. So he's been playing. He really likes to He's a big into like, he like loves Gran Turismo. So it's like, he's like probably love it then. Yeah. Does he yeah like Japan?
00:22:01
Speaker
Yeah, he does. Yeah. He was stationed over there when he was in the military and he like really. Oh, oh, he'll really love it then. He might see. Why do you think I like Japan? you why Yeah, we think I got it from him. Yeah, he raised us right.
00:22:14
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. All right. So, yeah, let's ah let's dive into it talk about each of these games individually. on up Oh, before before we do that, because Sean didn't rate it. Sean, on the scale of pineapple to pepperoni, what would you rate the showcase?
00:22:30
Speaker
I'm going to give this like a um pepper and onion. So it's like I like it. It's not like I'm not like ever picking it. But like if it's there, I'm going to have it. But you'll eat it if it's there. Yeah. Yeah. I'm never picking it.
00:22:42
Speaker
Yeah, Sean doesn't do number scores, so we we got the pizza scale. Number scores are, like, ridiculous. I completely forgot about the pizza scale. What love about the pizza scale is that it's up to interpretation for anyone.
00:22:53
Speaker
and it's And it's fun because who doesn't love pizza? Yeah. I know a couple people don't like pizza. My mom doesn't like pizza. I'm like, what's wrong with that? Even who doesn't like cheese, likes pizza. Like, that's crazy.
00:23:04
Speaker
Which is funny that you said that. like that's That's the rating I was thinking. It was cheese pizza because i would never order cheese pizza. But if that's like all that was there, yeah, I'd eat a slice of cheese pizza or whatever. me, it's like pepperoni.
00:23:16
Speaker
yeah Yeah, I get you. Forza Horizon 6 was the first game they showed. Obviously, they kind of wanted to get this of the way because everyone knew it's coming and you know I think that's pretty much why this one was first. but So I'll go quickly. yeah this i might download it to play it. like With Forza Horizon 5, when it came out, I downloaded it just because I had Game Pass and I played it for like an hour, just to basically just to check out the graphics because it is a beautiful game. And I might do the same with this because i i just want to see Japan, like drive around Japan. that look It seems like that would be so fun to do, but...
00:23:52
Speaker
yeah These sports games, obviously I'm not a racer person. I i do cart racing. That's pretty much the only types of racing games I play. So i'm I'm not really interested in that aspect, but i just really want to tour Japan basically. So that's, I might download it just to drive around Japan a little bit. But other than that, yeah, I'm not, not a racing fan. So I don't really have much interest in this. Sean, obviously you said you didn't have much in it, but if you have anything else to add, otherwise midnight. Yeah, I'm going to add this. I will read a series of text messages from my father that he sent me during this developer direct. Okay.
00:24:29
Speaker
presentation right here we go. Oh my gosh, this game looks insane. Whoa, in Japan? Can't wait for this. Racing the bullet train? Heck yeah. I rode the bullet train once. I'm like, yeah, Dad, I know. um Yeah, can't wait for this. Definitely getting it day one. All PlayStation. Let's go. i'm excited.
00:24:48
Speaker
Boom. There you go. i think was this one I think they announced this one later in the year. It's launching first on Xbox and PC, and then later was PlayStation, I believe.
00:25:00
Speaker
Yeah. yeah yeah Which is funny because some of the like fables come on day one to PlayStation. Yeah, which is... i Yeah, I feel like... I wonder if that's... They said when it's ready. you may I guess the port's not ready yet. You know what I think? I think they want to let Forza Horizon 5 breathe a little bit. because it that That might be it, yeah.
00:25:21
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Sell them another one so soon, then they'd feel robbed a little. Yeah, that that makes sense. Because, yeah, this one... But i will say before we move on or before midnight has anything to say about it, I will. I i it is funny that because I said i think Xbox is just straight at third party now. And some people are I think there's still me. I just straight up. I think everything's PlayStation now. I don't think there's going to be anything exclusive to x Xbox, anything that's only on Xbox. I feel like it's going to be like Forza where it's just not ready for PlayStation yet. They're going to go for PC and Xbox first and then eventually move into PlayStation. But I think that's the only only way that it's something's not day and date on PlayStation. It's just purely because it's not ready. Not because they want to give exclusivity to Xbox. so that's kind of um
00:26:06
Speaker
One more thing we didn't mention. It it comes out May 19th for those who are wondering. Oh, yeah. So, i yeah, I don't know. if Obviously, this isn't a U game either. where None of us are really racing games. But Midnight, you have anything else to say about this before we... Move on.
00:26:23
Speaker
Yeah, so I thought this game looked really great. um I mentioned in the discord that I was actually somewhat interested in my dabble a bit might try it out. I didn't try five at all, even though it looks great.
00:26:33
Speaker
I tried for briefly on just to see what all the fuss was about. It was on Game Pass and I downloaded that one was in the UK. um But yeah, I mean, this one looks cool. I love the setting. You know, Japan is a beautiful country. Despite its flaws, you know, you can't knock the ah the beautiful colors and the landscape and the mountains and, you know, all the seasons. It looks great. um Also, I saw some Forza fans, you know, I was checking out the ah the recap, the IGN recap, where they just post a video. And then you see, like, a bunch of random ah commoners in the comments who maybe are a little bit less diehard of gamers since they're on IGN. um Because that's before I was big into gaming That's all I checked was IGN So you know not no knock on them But um they seem to be really excited um They seem to think that this one Is maybe going to fix some of the issues that 5 had Like they were they were saying that they were really glad That actual progression was back Because you start at the bottom they talked about Like you have to earn your way onto the fest or whatever Which I think is cool I like that As Drake would say exactly And then also They talked about like
00:27:39
Speaker
There was something about five that people didn't like, and I forget what it was, like Superstar This or something that, and I guess that stuff's gone. So they were pretty excited about it. And so am I. I think it's cool to kind of start from the bottom like Drake and just kind of like get a car and you have to earn your way on onto the tour whatever and then work your way up. It kind of gives me those Need for Speed vibes, you know, from my favorite Need for Speed, which was Most Wanted. You know, you start from the bottom and work your way up the blacklist.
00:28:04
Speaker
I don't know. Maybe it'd be kind of like that. But I think it's cool. You start with like a hoopty, right? Earn your way on. Earn some money. Get a better car. Win some more races. Get a better car. I could see the loop there and the graphics and everything looks beautiful. So I might give it a try.
00:28:18
Speaker
That's what I'll say. Yeah, and the way I also describe these games is obviously people love these games. They get 90 pluses every single time. So obviously who the people who play these games love these games. But to me, these games are just gorgeous tech demos because the the cars look beautiful. Like they showed off like the sound and like when you go through a tunnel, it's going to sound like you're going through a tunnel and stuff like like they're making it very realistic, like hyper realism. And I love that about it. like Like I know the Avatar movies are garbage, but I still love them because they're just visual porn. They're so good looking. Like that's pretty much like the reason why I love those movies as an artist. Like I just love seeing gorgeous stuff like that. So that's kind of where I'm at with six of really, I just want, like I said, I just want to drive Japan and,
00:29:04
Speaker
look at the beautiful graphics and everything. So that's kind of where i'm at with it, but yeah, let's move on Oh, sorry. oh And what's cool about horizon two, for those who don't know, I think most people do know, but if you don't, is that it is like the more casual Forza it's open world. You can kind of drive all over and just screw around and have fun. And it's a bit more arcadey. It is still, it's not like Need for Speed. You still have to drive a little bit and you got to like handle your tuning and like not not skid out. But it's not nearly as tight as like Gran Turismo or the original Forza games. like you you can Like you can kind of whip it around corners a bit more and have more fun with it. Yeah.
00:29:38
Speaker
A little bit more arcadey. Are they done with Forza Motorsport? mean I don't know. The last one didn't do so hot. yeah um And they mentioned multiple times that Turn 10, who's the developer of the original, was like supporting on this. So I don't know if they're just like a support team on Horizon now or what.
00:29:55
Speaker
Not sure. If I remember right, they stopped numbering it and it just came out as Forza Motorsport. And it was basically supposed to be like a live service game at that point where it was just constantly updating. So Honestly, I'm not part of this, like, obviously, ah this world of racing games, so I don't know. and None of us really are. seeing ever Yeah, I know. Vroom, vroom, drive dry fast, turn left. um All right.

Game Reviews and Speculations

00:30:23
Speaker
So next up is Game Freaks, the creator of Pokemon's game, Beast of Reincarnation. I think this game looks fun, but I don't know too much about this, and I don't know.
00:30:35
Speaker
and I don't know I felt like I was seeing i don't know if I'm just biased against Game Freak because of the Pokemon games have just been getting progressively worse, basically. But I was kind of like I was noticing every little like misstep in detail. And I was like, I think I'm just being overly critical of Game Freak because of Pokemon. So I don't know. But I want to I to hear what Shauna says. Obviously, you are the Pokemon man. I want to know what you think about Game Freak's venture into non Pokemon game.
00:31:01
Speaker
I think it looks very different. i mean we get we I mean, we saw like the big expansive world and, you know, Pokemon Sword and Shield and Scarlet and Violet. And I think we're definitely seeing like that a step up with that here. I mean, this is a giant, you know, action role playing game. um I do like that there's like a one protagonist, Emma the Sealer, and then you have your dog, Koo, which Koo is the one I was alluding to earlier, who has like that, like kind of like those turn-based abilities where it kind of like slowed up. Almost reminded me of like um when you slowed down time in Final Fantasy VII Remake and you can kind of select your own abilities, i which is kind of cool. I thought the game looked gorge, i'm not gorgeous. I thought it looks like graphically a huge step up from any Pokemon game we've ever seen, obviously. I think it has to be.
00:31:47
Speaker
a lot with the hard war um you know reading some uh articles about it they said that the story is inspired by princess mononoke which is one my favorite uh so uh i don't really care um but yeah so oh it's really good yeah oh good um I do like it. I think that the action role playing combat, you know, like the style like that, kind kind of similar to like Nier and Sekiro and ah like that style, I think, you know, it's a little long in the tooth. whereve We've got so many of them over the last like, you know,
00:32:26
Speaker
six years um that I don't know if this is going to necessarily hit with everyone, but I think that name Game Freak is going really intrigue people to be like, whoa, we got to check this out. So that might might help it stand out. I think it's cool. I think it's really interesting. That's a post-apocalyptic world, too. And it's like 4026 when if you look at it, it kind of looks like it takes place in the past when in reality it doesn't, which is kind of weird. Verizon there.
00:32:52
Speaker
What? little horizon there. Yeah, a little horizon-ish, yeah. So I am looking forward to it. um I do, I'm not going to see any more of it. I think it looks fun. I'll be interested to see, because we saw the ability trees too for the characters. I'll be interested to see how in-depth they get and how different you can customize your character, because that's a big part of like, you know, Game Freak with Pokemon. You can customize your, you know, Pokemon with four different moves and you can...
00:33:17
Speaker
you know Me and Hodge could have the same Pokemon and we could be using totally different moves. So I'd be really curious to see how much they delve into allowing you to customize your character with different abilities.
00:33:28
Speaker
yeah But overall, i mean it looks looks pretty good. I'll be interested to see. Yeah, I will say graphically, I'm looking at it, I'm letting it play right now. And i was like, graphically, like Pokemon games are basically like GameCube level right now. And this looks like Xbox One, PlayStation 4 level. Like it's it's still not like amazing looking, but it's still it's way better than Pokemon for sure. Yeah.
00:33:54
Speaker
But I do love also, before we get to You, Midnight, I love the like the half plant, half animal creatures, like how you kind of use nature to fight. and stuff i thought It looks really cool in that. like The lore of this game is what I'm more interested in than the gameplay. Obviously, the gameplay looks fun, but I'm very intrigued by what like the lore of what's happening in this world is. But yeah, the the only thing they say is that it's ruined by corruption. So that we're not really sure. I believe. Yeah. So white. There we go. Get that word again.
00:34:28
Speaker
Yeah, I was going to say, what what has the word Blight that I was thinking of? horizons It's been in Horizon. It's been in a couple other games, too. Dragon Age. drag i think I believe so, unless I'm misremembering.
00:34:42
Speaker
Is that what it was in Avowed? Was it the Blight? was that the That was the Dream Scourge in Avowed. Oh, Dream Scourge. But that similar had like the the planned aspect. Yeah. Kind of. Yeah. Speaking of Vowed, Midnight, what do you think?
00:34:56
Speaker
Yeah. So when I first watched the showcase or whatever, well, whatever it's called, you know, um I wasn't completely paying attention to this one because, you know, it's in Japanese and I can't understand it. And I was kind of looking at my phone. But.
00:35:09
Speaker
to do my due diligence because I'm a professional podcaster. Last night I went on, you know, YouTube and I watched the full interrupted 10 minute segment with my full focus phone down. um And yeah, I think this looks pretty cool. It's a very interesting concept. You know, you got girl who's shunned by the world because of her ability and a dog who doesn't love a dog.
00:35:30
Speaker
So girl and her dog out there trying to save the world. She has the ability to absorb these monsters apparently and you know, fix the blight and the corruption. So that's cool.
00:35:40
Speaker
a lot of people don't like her because of her ability, apparently. So that's you know interesting. And yeah, just overall, i think the world and the setting looked pretty cool. um I thought the combat looked decent. um I love dogs. You know having a dog companion is always great.
00:35:57
Speaker
um That's one knock that I'll have about our next game that we talk about is where's the dog, but we'll get to that. But ah yeah, no, I think it's cool. i am This is so the one that I said I'm mildly interested in. The two that I am interested in is Fable and Believe It or Not Forza. And this one I am ah mildly interested in. We'll see. It is coming to Game Pass, they said.
00:36:15
Speaker
so that's cool. It is also coming to PlayStation and all platforms other than Nintendo, interestingly enough. No Switch for Game Freak. but but Maybe it couldn't run on Switch. I don't know.
00:36:26
Speaker
But yeah. I thought that was interesting since you know they've been so close to Nintendo. but um But yeah, anyway, I think this game looks cool and I think it looks interesting and i'd like I'd like to check it out. This is a game that I very well might play um depending on my time, when it comes out and the reviews. If the reviews come out and it's like god-awful and everyone's like, this game's a fucking mess, you know it's a technical nightmare, it's a five out of ten, then maybe I'll skip it. But if the reviews are at least decent, you know like like high sevens, eights, then I might check it out. We'll see.
00:36:57
Speaker
Probably going to get like a 75. That's what was thinking. Like mid-70s is what this game kind of looks like to me. and A lot of the comments were like, yeah, you see what happens if you give them an actual budget in some time, Nintendo? Yeah.
00:37:12
Speaker
Well, they they're not wrong. yeah Imagine a Pokemon game with actual care and effort instead of rushing it to get it out. We had those, and there was, you know, Gen 1 through 5.
00:37:23
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. yeah Were those also made by Game Freak or was it different back then? Yeah, those were Game Freak. They just had a lot more time to make them. yeah Games also were simpler to make back then too.
00:37:35
Speaker
yeah I mean, i feel like so even using... had a lot more They had a lot more time to make them. Yeah, I was going to say, and and I feel like minimal effort could get better than what what they're giving us now because, God, those games are rough, man. And it sucked. I loved Pokemon back in the day, but... It is a shame because that was one of the things that I was really excited about when ah when the Switch came out. is I was like, finally, we're gonna be I'm going to be able to get Fire Emblem and Pokemon games on an actual console, not a handheld. i was like So I was picturing full-blown console like graphics, like full AAA, amazing polish, and that's not what we've seen from Pokemon. I'm going to say this. Go play Pokemon Coliseum on GameCube. It looks better than the Switch games.
00:38:20
Speaker
Yeah, I would say if if you did want to get into Pokemon on Switch, I would honestly say do like the brilliant Diamond and Pearl remakes. I would say that's probably. But even though they really agree, Sean, they remade the worst version. Like they they should have remade platinum. Like platinum is so much better because the Pokedex and Diamond and Pearl is so bad compared to like platinum. It was so bad.
00:38:43
Speaker
Sean, you're the Pokemon master. You're the best around like no one ever was. what Which game should i get into if I want to get into emulate Pokemon Black or Black 2. Is it on? Is it on like the Switch Online or Virtual or anything? it's a DS. You got to it on PC.
00:38:58
Speaker
Yeah, just go emulate it. You'll love it. You'll like Black because good story. Yeah, I'm saying if ah of the Switch ones, I think Sword Shield sucked. I never played Scarlet Violet. Apparently people like it, but and I hate it. I did not like Arceus. Let's Go Pikachu. I only liked purely out of nostalgia. Horrible. Yeah, it's it's not a good game, but if you have the nostalgia for the OGs, I would suggest it just because it's just a remake of the Kanto area. and I remember.
00:39:26
Speaker
I'm telling you, go go just emulate Pokemon Black or Pokemon White, and youll you'll like it. It actually has a really good story. Yeah. Someone's trying to get me arrested. Nintendo's going bust down door. Nintendo's listening to this. They're just talking about Game Freak. You're playing Pokemon Black, and we didn't get our $40? Cuff them, boys. exactly.
00:39:47
Speaker
now The best game is Pokken Tournament. Actually, I have that game. Do you? I got it for Wii U and I got the Switch version. That is until this year when PokkaPedia or whatever game comes out. Oh, I'll be playing that.
00:40:01
Speaker
I'll be playing that. Dude, if that game gets good ratings, I will play it. It's just the little freaky ditto girl, man. You know what's sad? I bash all these Switch Nintendo Pokemon games, but I'm going to buy it. I'll be there day one. Gen 10, I'll be there day one. It's still going to sell 30 million copies. I will be one of those 30 million. You guys are the problem, man. You to stop buying it.
00:40:19
Speaker
Hey, I don't buy it. You got the problem with your Avowed game. Yeah. Avowed was a good game. I don't know. I couldn't think of anything else. That's why. actually And actually, I'm a fraud because I didn't even buy that. I played it on Game Pass. so I didn't even support the devs directly. Xbox gamers don't buy games. Oh, well. Yeah, I'm a fraud. Hey, they got a little Game Pass bag from me, but they didn't get what they should have got. Yeah. I'm an ultimate subscriber. They got my money. Who cares? Yeah. um But yeah, this game, I was surprised i was actually pleasantly surprised. i'd Honestly, to wrap it up of this game, I expected much less than what we saw. So I'm intrigued by this game. Back to Beast of Reincarnation. We took such a long season. Go back to it.
00:41:01
Speaker
Yeah. But ah unless you guys have anything else, let's move on to... We had our secret unveil of a game. Yeah, like I said, when I saw the Double Fine logo, I got so excited. I was like, Psychonauts 3, we're here! And nope.
00:41:17
Speaker
We got a game called Kiln. multiplayer game where you make your own pot and then try and smash each other. like I was like... Oh, that sounded wrong. Try and smash each other's pot. ah so I just...
00:41:30
Speaker
I will say about this game, it feels like with it being free on game pass or if it's even if I wouldn't be surprised if this launches in into PS plus also, like it seems like a game like that, that would do that.
00:41:41
Speaker
I could see it if it's free. If you get together with some friends, it could be fun. Like, that's as good as, like, a compliment I can give this game. It could be fun with friends. But watching this, i was like, what? This is a secret unveil? Like, this is what you were holding back from us to unveil to the world is some DOA multiplayer game? Like, that's just really...
00:42:07
Speaker
like i'm not even trashing on what it looks like to play who knows it might be the funnest game ever made but every time i see a live service or multiplayer game i'm like it's dead there's no way this survives like that's just kind of where i'm at now because the the the field is so flooded like you know what it reminded me of when i saw it reminded me of fall guys but like budget fall guys Yeah, which is a shame because like, all right, Fall Guys, it had its moment, obviously.
00:42:35
Speaker
That game, I still play it occasionally. That game is incredible, but it is almost dead. Like no one plays that game. Epic has just kind of let it out to just die kind of. And so, but, and that game is incredible. So this game, which again, who knows, maybe it is incredible, but I just don't see it.
00:42:54
Speaker
And i it just is so weird that this was like their... Because I like the concept that Double Fine does of like, we have like a contest in the studio of like, it like you know, ah tell us your game that you want to make and like, we make the best one. Like that is very cool. I love, like other people were saying is that Xbox just lets Double Fine do their own thing. Like they're like just go make whatever you think is fun. Just go do it. And so i love that. I do give them props for that. yeah Yeah. And so I really love that. But It's just like, and so I love also that double fine, like I said, it does like, they tell their employees like, stop. um
00:43:30
Speaker
pitch us something. Like, what what what do you want to do? And so they may come up with this. But again, like, as a game itself, maybe fun, but I just don't see this thing surviving. It just... I do like the character, just like the the animated look of the characters. Like, I like that. It looks cool, but like, it's a multiplayer live service game. i'm not going to play it. um And I would, like, imagine if they came out and said, oh, we're doing this...
00:43:53
Speaker
we're doing this platforming game where you play as like pottery like imagine they said that like a single player platforming game yeah plays these pots that would work thick yeah like ah if it's a platformer like a platformer puzzler where you have to build a certain pot to fit into certain things and like that would be incredible i would oh yeah i would be dying to play that game but this one being a multiplayer game i'm like It's one of those, like, again, with it, if it's free, it'll be one of those I hop in one weekend with friends, we play it, maybe we have a blast, and then everyone falls off of it. Like, that's just how I see this game happening. And a And I'm really worried that this could, you know, could do damage. Shut the studio? devil Yeah, it could do damage them because the way that, you know, Microsoft acts with these studios, I mean, you never know.
00:44:38
Speaker
Well, yeah, because their last game was Keeper that just came out at the end of last year. And that game was a fart in the wind, even though a lot of people thought it was pretty good. I know our friend Dan played it and he said he he' ah he I mean, he said, I think he said it was fine, which sucks because, again, Psychonauts one and two are amazing platformers. I love those games. And so it's like, that's what you guys are good at. Do that. But instead, we've had Keeper and then this. And it's like, man, you're making kind of two duds that are just kind of farting into Game Pass like hi I'm kind of scared for this this studio because they're talented and they're obviously funny. They have a good sense of humor. They have very quirky games.
00:45:15
Speaker
But if i don't know. don't know. Midnight. Hello, Jim. Jim. Yeah, Midnight. What are you thinking and also about this?
00:45:26
Speaker
Oh, yeah. this This was my game of the show for sure. i can't This is day one. I can't wait. um It's funny, when they first announced it, they're like, oh, well a secret game? And then it's double fine. I got kind of excited because, you know, even though I don't really play their games, I know their games are beloved, you know, like, and I was interested to see what they were goingnna come up with next. And then all of a sudden they do this little bit where they're like crafting and smashing the pottery. And i'm like, huh? And then they show that it's a live service freaking pottery battle game that had like half Splatoon vibes and half like, I don't know, just like capture the flag kind almost, I don't you're supposed to get water and like put out the enemy enemy's kiln. I don't know. It's weird. yeah But honestly, like my first reaction when I watched it is who asked for this one and two, like I was legitimately getting angry when I was watching it. Like it was giving me anxiety and anger. Like I could feel like my heart rate, like getting, getting mad. But and funny, last night I did go back and I watched a little bit of it last night when I was doing my due diligence and I was slightly easier on it then. And I could see that maybe it has a little bit of charm and a little bit of fun. But I think that this game is is DOA. It's going to be in Game Pass.
00:46:37
Speaker
I think their only hope for this game is if it's free to play, and I don't know if they announced that or not, or if it ah launches in PS Plus as well, day one. like They're going to need an audience. like They need to make this as accessible as possible. it needs to be in PS Plus and Game Pass, day one, um and and and maybe just make it completely free to play. Because if this game doesn't have like a very low barrier to entry, it's definitely DOA. And even if it does, it's going to have ah a tough sledding because it's just such a crowded market, right? And I don't think anybody was really looking for a pottery fighter. So I don't know about all that.
00:47:12
Speaker
I think they want they want't grounded. That's what they want out of this. yeah Yeah. One thing, though... One thing I did notice is that I get the feeling that this is a side project for them. This isn't the main game they're working on. um And the reason why I think that is because when I was watching it back, I noticed that when they had the director on there, it said project director was that his title. It didn't say game director, which makes me think that project director, like he's heading up this side project maybe, and that maybe they have a core team that's working on their next big game. Who knows, though? That might be copium. But it didn't say that he was the game director. He was the project director.
00:47:49
Speaker
See, but that's I'm not saying you're wrong, but that's it does seem like copium for me just because that's what people said about Keeper, too. Oh, this is just a side project. They're working on another game. i forgot that game even came out, dude, until they mentioned it.
00:48:03
Speaker
And so it's like. I don't know, but the I was going to say the only other way this game, I think, has a prayer is if it becomes like a streamer hit, because apparently that's how games get popular now. Like a a popular streamer plays a game, and that's what gets everyone like, oh, i want to play, i want to play this. And so really, i mean, it's like with High Guard, that's also coming out soon. You're going to to hope a streamer hops into that one because... Day one, Goaty, High Guard. Yeah, yeah, according to Jeff Keighley.
00:48:32
Speaker
But yeah, so it's just like, I, don't know i it it sucks. I love Double Fine. Again, Psychonauts 2 is one of the best platformers I've played in a long time. That game is incredible. And that, they went from Keeper to this. i'm just like, oh, come on, guys. What are The Xbox needs to be a little bit more heavy handed to be like, no, no, no, no. no no We don't need this right now. What we need is we need like some banging platformers that you're known for.
00:48:59
Speaker
yeah Yeah. Yeah. But like we said, if this was like a platformer puzzler, I'd be 100% in, but it's not that it's a, it's a battle game. And maybe they will use this, this pottery creation tech to create a platformer. Like you talked about, who knows? Copium.
00:49:16
Speaker
but Yeah. Yeah. Oh, you're a very hopeful hopeful man. um But yeah, unless you guys have anything else to say, let's get into the final game, which I think is ah most people's game of show and the one everyone's most excited about.
00:49:28
Speaker
ah Just so you raise your hand there for a second. Hit the wrong button. But all right. So finally, keep it moving. Yeah. So finally we got a Fable. They had a deep dive into this game. Obviously they've shown it, I believe two times before this at different showcases. And um i will say very quickly before I hand it off to you guys is this game felt so magical.
00:49:53
Speaker
I'm, so I'm actually genuinely like really excited for this game. Like, When it was showing all the different worlds and like areas and stuff, I was just straight up getting Hogwarts legacy vibes. Like it feels like that feel good magical world that I really have that feeling from. And the humor was awesome. I loved every little bit of like walking by. It's like someone calls you a twat or something because they don't like what you've been doing to the city and stuff like that. Like I was loving every moment of this. And i I mean, i don't know. i can't remember if I've really had doubts from this, but I've always said like Playground makes good games. Why is everyone so down on Fable right now? And obviously it's Xbox stacks, but it it looks incredible. i'm I'm very excited for this game. and i i am going to play this game when it comes out. im
00:50:40
Speaker
I'm 100% I'm going to, but let's get to you first, Midnight. You are the Fable man. What did you think? I actually would like to call an audible. i want to hear from Sean what he thinks. Mr. Noe. Mr. Noe. And yeah, I was wondering what what was it doing for you, Sean? What did you think of what you saw? Well, you can definitely tell why it took so long because this game, it looks gorgeous.
00:51:02
Speaker
um Apparently, there's gonna be it's going to be like a lived-in world where the game goes on even when you're like not playing. like that the the like If you're not in a village, like they're still living. The NPCs are still living, which is really cool. It reminded me of um KCD 2 a little bit with that whole aspect of the living in the universe. I thought it looked awesome. It looked really cool. I'm i ah i'm excited. You know what? I am excited to you know give it a shot finally.
00:51:29
Speaker
You know, for everyone that knows I've been the big fable, like, oh, yeah, I'm never going to play it. Yeah. But I'm actually, you know, I will be playing this. It looked cool. I'm excited to play a game where the choice and consequence really matters, where, um you know, when you're walking around, if you're a jerk, everyone knows you're a jerk. um I like the whole um idea of your appearance kind of altering, too, depending on how you act.
00:51:55
Speaker
you don't like that? That's not in this game, unfortunately. it's not? That's one complaint people have. Oh, I thought it was in this game. I was wondering if they hid that just from it, but did they confirm that's not an aspect of it?
00:52:08
Speaker
I believe it's been confirmed that it's not in there. that does At least they didn't show it at all, and that's that's the one that's the one big complaint that many people have had, is that the appearance alteration that previous games is seemingly absent from this one, so...
00:52:23
Speaker
That's stupid. I know Locke ah was very disappointed about that. yeah
00:52:30
Speaker
um Well anyways I think it looks good i I'm excited to give it a shot I think it's really cool how um Like you kind of grow up Like as the game goes on You're kind of like growing up is that Was that in the older Fable games still? Yeah you almost always start as like a child And then there's always a tragedy um And that's how your story unfolds You kind of end up becoming a hero And then you have to track down the villain So it's like a real Fable then It's like a real Fable Yeah it it is It's like a it's like a fairy tale type game That's an oxymoron by the way A real Fable Yeah. there's an oxymoron.
00:53:03
Speaker
it's a It's a good old Disney plot. Something bad happens to you when you're young and you got to come back from it. um I do like that it doesn't, it's like a, it's like a stand, it's like standalone. This is a good hopping on point for people. Like you don't have to play the other games. um But I guess they're, they're from my understanding there, there's some like, there's some like lore aspects of the older games in it, but like from a plot standpoint and like a story standpoint, this is completely standalone. So yeah, I'm excited. i'm glad it's coming to PlayStation. um I do have a question for you guys before midnight goes. do you guys think it's actually going hit in 2026?
00:53:36
Speaker
No, no chance. Not a chance in the world. I'm going be an optimist and say yes. no I don't think so, but I'm going to be an optimist. I'm feeling good today. Let's be optimistic. None of us picked it, right, in our draft? I don't think so. I've been and i've been steadfast this game's not coming out this year.
00:53:55
Speaker
Me too. But now that I see it, you know i could I could see it coming out in 2026. The only thing that that um bothers me is that they said, like, they just said, like, ah Like late 2020. They said like, what did they say? Like keep this autumn, autumn, 2020. It's a very vague yeah release window there. But, you know, I hope it hits.
00:54:17
Speaker
It's I think we'll be good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I hope it hits. um Or if they want to delay it, that's fine. Because then we can fight over drafting it next year in the fantasy league.
00:54:30
Speaker
But yeah, you want me to go now Yeah. Go on. Yeah. Yeah. Alright, so I am the resident Fable fan on the podcast here. And yeah, this is a reboot. So it is like, it's just called Fable. It's not Fable 4. So like you said, Sean, yeah, you don't really have to play the previous ones first or anything. You can go back and play the previous ones later if you enjoy it. But this is a fresh jumping on point.
00:54:50
Speaker
And it looks sweet. It looks awesome. I thought the graphics are beautiful. They are changing some things because this is a reboot. Some things are different. First of all, this is going to be an open world, they said. You can kind of, from the start, you can kind of go wherever you want and do stuff. The previous Fable games were not open world. It was kind of like small hub zones with like just the paths that you could follow.
00:55:12
Speaker
you know, kind of like a Final Fantasy XIII kind of deal where you can see the path and you can follow the path, maybe with one or two little branching areas, but that's about it. But this one is going to be like, it's in ForzaTech. So that's that's one of the reasons that this game took so long is they took the ForzaTech engine, which is known for racing games, and they basically had to retool it to ah support ah an RPG. They had to create a combat system. They had to create like detailed character models that can move and fight and stuff. So yeah.
00:55:41
Speaker
But yeah, it looks gorgeous. It's open world. I love the British humor that they have. Fable's always known for like the quirky British humor and stuff, calling people twad and kicking chickens and stuff. um Many of the things that we love are back. um like The romance system is back. like you can You can date and romance the NPCs. They showed that a lot. like You pull them up, and you can see what what they think of you, whether they like you or they think you're an asshole. um You can see why they think that. right Yeah, you can cheat. Oh, yeah. You can give them gifts. You can have multiple wives and stuff. um The real estate empire is back, apparently. like You can buy up all the property and set the rent. And based on how much you send the set the rent, people will like you or hate you as a result. And then you know then you'll be getting cursed out on the streets. um
00:56:25
Speaker
You also can evict people. There was one dude that was pissed off and hated you because you evicted him apparently. That was in the trailer. um Also, they showed like how you can like craft, which actually looked kind of cool. There was a dude blacksmithing and he was making some gold. um So there's like it' it's a world that you can live in, in addition to doing the side quest and it did it in addition to doing the main quest. um I think it looks amazing. I thought the combat looked really good. The combat was giving major Witcher 3 vibes.
00:56:51
Speaker
Like the way that you the way that you fight with the sword, the way that you even like evade and like dodge looked very Witcher-esque. um The ability wheel on the side where you have to like hit the trigger and then hit you know A, B, X, Y, or triangle, circle, square, or whatever, to cast the ability was very Witcher-esque. I thought that was cool. um Every NPC is named and has their own routine and schedule like you mentioned. It is kind of a living world. um The complaints here, I do want to address these for people like Lockmort.
00:57:23
Speaker
a lot of people were not happy that they got rid of the the transmorph system with your body. In the previous games, you know if you were evil, you would start to grow horns. If you were good, you would get a halo. If you were...
00:57:35
Speaker
a high strength character your character would get kind of bigger and beefier ah like i don't know if you were like some kind of bad guy or something like you could kind of get like wither like wither and look kind of white and pale like that that is seemingly gone they didn't show any of that they didn't talk about that they might have even said that it's gone i think i everybody's just saying it's gone and people aren't happy about that because people like lox say that that's core to fable and i somewhat agree haj you look like you wanted to say something Well, I was going to say now that you say that, it reminded me that one of the guys said like morality is gray in this. Like I'm like that's morality is not the gray part. It's how people react to it. Sure. You can do something that one person hates and another person likes. But that that doesn't make it good or bad. It just means that that person is right or wrong. Like so i can murder someone out of the cold, cold blood. i think I'm in the wrong there.
00:58:25
Speaker
Yeah, but then you might have some guy, oh, good, you murdered him. He kicked my chickens. Like, that's not morally gray. You're still bad for that. It's just that guy doesn't โ€“ that guy is also a bad person. Like, what are you doing? But that's yeah now that you said that, that reminded me, oh the yeah, there probably isn't the growth and that kind of stuff because, yeah, it's morally gray. I'm like, no, it's not. But whatever. Anyway.
00:58:50
Speaker
Yeah, so they're doing morality different in this game. So like I said, you don't have the ah the change to your body apparently. And you know Locke was upset about that Other people have been upset because they say that's core to the Fable experience for the role playing aspect. And I do somewhat would agree with that, but also personally, I just i don't care that much.
00:59:08
Speaker
um To me, that was just like window dressing. That was just a side thing. If I had horns and a halo and stuff, I didn't really care that much. ah The main thing for me was just like how the NPCs reacted to me and stuff. And they're changing that. So instead of it being black and white, where in the original fable, if you were a bad guy, virtually everybody hated and was afraid of you and they would run away or they would, you know. whatever. And if you were a good guy, almost everybody loved you and there wasn't a lot of nuance. In this game, it seems like there will be more nuance. Some people will love you, some people will hate you based on what you've done and how you've impacted the world. And I kind of like that, actually.
00:59:41
Speaker
um Also, it is more region-specific in this game. um They said, like, you know, one village, the deeds that you've done in one village don't necessarily transfer to the next village. It's a different town. Maybe they don't know about you or care about you.
00:59:53
Speaker
Yeah, that reminded me of a New Vegas, the reputation system there where each town in New Vegas would be like, you'd have a different reputation in that certain settlement. That reminded me of that. Yeah, yeah. And some people don't like that, although I personally, I think maybe in some regards, that's a good thing. um I think, like, really big stuff people should hear about and know that you did it. But, I mean, people in another town in a medieval age where they don't have the internet and cell phones, they're not necessarily going to hear about the small deeds you did. So when you go to a new town, you are somewhat starting from scratch, and I think that does make sense. Now, if you saved the world and you, like, killed the huge dragon, I feel like people should know about that in most areas, but...
01:00:31
Speaker
We'll see. Overall, I think it's cool. I think it looks great. The combat looks fun. The humor's on point. And they do still have a lot of that Fable stuff with the interaction with the villagers, the real estate, the crafting, the dating, all that BS that you can do.
01:00:45
Speaker
I'm looking forward to it. so yeah i also like that they talked about how like the big guy with the glasses from one of the trailers the giant like if you kill him his body's just always there like i love that they're doing that world changing stuff that is so i love games like you when we talked about um like not i'm not a game for me but but boulders gate 3 how you said there was just like 200 hours of cut scenes that they filmed that you're not going to see the majority of it like I love games that have that much depth that everyone's experience is going to be completely different. So I really hope that it's more than just like two things like that where it's like oh, you kill the giant. I hope that there's a bunch of stuff like that. That'd be really cool.
01:01:25
Speaker
Yeah, and they mentioned that people would react to that too. Like some people would be pissed off that you killed the giant because now they have to deal with this corpse always there. and yeah, um but yeah they they mentioned in this a trailer that you would be making a ton of choices, like a lot of choice and consequences, what they alluded to. So we'll see. Maybe this is a game that will have replayability. Maybe it will be something that you'll want to play good and then play evil the next time just to see how the world changes slightly, the story changes, and how people react differently.
01:01:52
Speaker
yeah I love old school like literature and old school fables, so this would be pretty cool. Yeah. i really I really do think that if this game doesn't have like technical hiccups, i think I really could see this game being like high 80s, low 90s. It looks incredible. like

Fable Excitement and Critique

01:02:11
Speaker
Genuinely. does And that's coming from someone who does not care. i played Fable 1 and 2 with a buddy of mine back in high school. Because I think at least 2 I know was co-op. So we could play ah we played online a little bit together. ah
01:02:24
Speaker
But I wasn't like super into these games. And obviously you guys know I'm not a huge like fantasy game person. But this this game, it looks so good. I'm genuinely excited for this game. So I really hope. The Optimist in me, it's coming out this fall, guys. It's coming.
01:02:40
Speaker
I hope you're right, Kaj. I hope you're right. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, i wouldn't be mad. Yeah. But um is there anything else we want to say about this game? i mean, it looks โ€“ I was sad we invited Locke on, but unfortunately he was busy. I know he would have had a lot to say about this. So next time we talk to him, we'll have to ask him but if he's excited for Fable or not because, yeah, this game, it looks incredible. I'm so โ€“ i'm excited for this one and also i know we already said it but it was really cool kind of to sum up the whole direct that right at the start instead of doing like the showcase thing it's like coming to game pass at the start there's just like all these games are on game pass don't worry about it like that's how they opened the show basically was yeah these all game pass don't worry but
01:03:23
Speaker
um Yeah, that's all I really have for this. Again, like we said, it was a pretty good showcase. wasn't the best. Secret game was a little but and unfortunately, I think do think it's going to tank. But i i need this I need to go back and look at what the other directs were because I've kind of forgotten them, and I'm really curious as to what โ€“ I always thought that the games that showed always came out that year, but apparently someone said that a couple of the games got delayed out of the year even when they were at the direct. last year a game got delayed.
01:03:54
Speaker
Okay, yeah, i couldn't I couldn't remember because I know... Because that's also the cool thing about these directs is it shows like basically what's really far along in development. So it shows you like, here's what you're going playing soon. So that's the other thing. Because like showcases, obviously they can be like, oh, this game, summer 2028. You're like, oh, goddammit. I have to wait two two more years for this game. But to this stuff, it's at least within the next year probably that these games are going to come out. So that makes me really excited. Yeah.
01:04:25
Speaker
Yeah. um I don't know if you saw if you pulled it up, Sean, or not. the It wasn't last year's. Developer, Direct, 2020. Was it come out
01:04:40
Speaker
i don't know ah all a vowed gut wasn't a vowed twenty twenty five Yeah, because that was fall 2024, and they pushed it to the next year. So, yeah, that's the one that was a Stileta. Because Aura, Visions of Mana, Sen was... Great game, Visions of Mana, great game. Yeah. Because that was the secret game of that year, remember, because it was like, wow, Square Enix has shown up to this? That's... Great game.
01:05:05
Speaker
That's weird. I loved it. Yeah, there you go. And then developer direct 23... Oh, that yeah, that was the Hi-Fi Rush one. Minecraft. Redfall. Yeah, Redfall. Sean's favorite game.
01:05:19
Speaker
Oh, yeah. actually I cannot believe I played it to completion, but I did. you You didn't get the 1,000 gamer score. You to back. You got to get the Xbox Ghetto Platinum. If it ever came to PlayStation, I would get the Platinum.
01:05:32
Speaker
Would you really? Yeah, I would. ghetto But it's never coming to PlayStation, ever. that's <unk> Yeah, I don't see why. Redfall? No, that game's dead. They're not going to bother with it. There's no point. Dude, I still cannot believe how broken that game was. Even after, like, oh, we just completely rehauled it. It's good to go. That game, genuinely, one of the worst games I've ever played in my life. And I don't say that lightly. Like, it was horrible.
01:05:58
Speaker
but That game clearly needed another like two years of development. They just shitted out to die. They were like, nah, get rid of this game and the studio. It was it was not good. but Not cool. so what ah What was you guys most excited about then of the four games?
01:06:14
Speaker
Fable, for sure. Definitely. For me, Fable as well. Sean? Beast of Reincarnation just because Game Freak, intriguing. I'm excited. But I am excited for that. I mean, Fable's a close second. Like, I am generally very excited for both of these games. yeah And they will both be played, like I said. But um definitely not Killen. Killen. Killen. Whatever it's called. Killen.
01:06:38
Speaker
yeah Yeah, I will say Beast of Reincarnation, if that wasn't coming to Game Pass, ah I wouldn't have any look. I wouldn't be looking at it at all. But with it coming to Game Pass, it's one of those like, oh, I'll give it a try. Because again, like that that world and that setting and that, you know, obviously i don't know anything about the lore, but that that lore, it just sounds so all intriguing. So I really want to give it a try for that. And hopefully Game Freak can show that they do make actually quality games when they're not being rushed by Nintendo. so so Actually, I'm going to play it when it comes to Switch with the Pokemon DLC on it.
01:07:08
Speaker
Oh, there you go. Dude, imagine Pokemon with those graphics. Run around with Watchdog next to you instead of Coup. Yeah, I want a Pokemon game that has the graphics of the Detective Pikachu movie. That's what I want.
01:07:22
Speaker
Yeah, cola as usual. As usual, because this is an, I don't know if it's, I don't know if it's an Xbox tax or what, if it's not an Xbox tax, then I just don't know how to explain it.
01:07:34
Speaker
ah But there does seem to be a hate campaign forming around Fable already as well, that it's going to have to fight against. I saw recently there was videos that are out there that people were mad that all of the characters were like feminine. yeah You could make a guy, but he was like kind of feminine and had a gay looking walk and stuff. People were mad about that.
01:07:53
Speaker
So like the anti-woke crowd was mad about that. And then I saw just recently in Discord, apparently they're going to have like the office style, like cutaways in the game with like some grit humor and stuff. That's awesome.
01:08:03
Speaker
I think that's awesome. think Some people are really mad about that and saying they're not going to buy the game. So like i don't I don't get it. i think and I think there's, with any showcase now, anything, doesn't matter if it's PlayStation, Xbox, there's always people out there who are like, oh, this game looks like garbage. Everyone just wants to be like that. Oh, this looks terrible. It's every single thing now. Everything.
01:08:25
Speaker
Literally, i made a joke before the dev direct. I'm like, I already have it in my drafted tweets about how woke this game looks. Like, I literally made that joke before the direct even happened. Everything. someone The only, only, obviously, I don't care about ah the the dumb, stupid woke shit, but the, the, the criticism of the feminine walk, I will say that maybe that is true because there was such backlash to that character that maybe that's when they did add a custom creator. Like, Maybe they did do that. I don't know. It's, I think maybe people are just pulling at strings just to hate on the game because that just seems to be what the internet does nowadays. Cause I, I tweeted out the other day. i not that who gives a shit about my Twitter, but I, so I said like the same people or the people who are complaining about there being a beautiful woman in that night's tale game or whatever that one's called. People are freaking out about that. Cause all the, the love companions, a beautiful blonde woman and the same people and the not same people, but people complaining that there's like black people in fable. I'm like, You guys are the opposite side of the same coin and you're both fucking annoying. Like, stop. like This is so stupid. It's like, you're going to, there's always, it's just, people like to complain. It's awful. Yeah.
01:09:33
Speaker
i mean I mean, that's what happened when x or Twitter or whatever made โ€“ they monetized tweets. Like now people just do it for engagement farming. That's literally what it is and the majority of the time. If I hold a couple thousand a month just tweeting out angrily, then I would do it. i would be โ€“ I bet you โ€“ well, there's no way to prove this, but 50% of those things people tweet. They don't even believe it.
01:09:58
Speaker
Yeah, I'm sure that's true. Well, I've also seen that people were tweeting out like, oh, look at this happening in the game. I know any like specific examples because know anything of the Fable or really that well. But they're like, look at this happening. This is woke. And everyone's like that happened in the other Fable games. You're obviously not a fan of Fable. You just want to complain like stop. Yeah, people just loved the bitch. thought Fable looks incredible. I can't wait to play it. Me too. I can't wait.
01:10:25
Speaker
Because i'm I've also just been so itching for another game that it feels as magical as Hogwarts Legacy because I love that game so much. And yeah, this game, it looks so heartwarming.
01:10:39
Speaker
Not heartwarming, but like comforting it looks so good it it looks like a feel-good game and i'm so i'm so excited for this game so yeah fables always been like a storybook like fairy tale type game they usually even have like pages that turn like and a narrator at times and stuff yeah it's cool yeah yeah it's been so long since i played those fables because it was 360 back in high school so it's been forever since i played those games but So I don't really remember them that well, but yeah, I'm, so I'm so excited, but I think, same yeah. So, uh, I think that's all we got for this week. Nice short little episode for y'all. I hope you enjoyed it. Uh, final thoughts, Mr. Midnight. What are you thinking, brother?
01:11:20
Speaker
Yeah, I thought it was a great show. I'm excited for three of the four games. I'm definitely going to check out Forza 6 and Horizon 6 and Fable. um I hope to check out Beasts of Reincarnation. One thing that I just thought about is that my game pass is expiring sometime this year because I canceled it because they keep jacking up the prices like 30 bucks a month now, which is crazy. But I might just subscribe to just the PC version because it's cheaper and you get almost all the same games. So maybe I'll do that.
01:11:48
Speaker
um I think Beasts of Reincarnation is coming to PC. so It is. it It is, yeah. So, yeah, anyway, I'm going to try all three of these games, and I'm excited about it. yeah And this was a fun episode. My voice is clearing up a little bit. Hopefully, I'll be all right.
01:12:02
Speaker
Pray for me. yeah Hopefully, I don't die in this crazy winter storm. Hopefully, nobody dies in this winter storm. Like, we're all getting getting hammered in various ways. Pause. Oh, I'm getting hammered. Yeah, that that might help my throat, actually. There you go. Like some whiskey.
01:12:16
Speaker
Yeah, there you go. I can't go anywhere. I can't leave the house. Like, we got, like, ice and freezing rain everywhere. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sean, final thoughts. What you thinking?
01:12:27
Speaker
Great. It was good. you know, two games I'm definitely going to play. ah Two games I'm definitely to play. I'm happy for my dad. He's excited. He's never really been excited in an Xbox event before. It's his first time for everything, I guess, Dad. There you go. Dad's built. Watching this. Shout

Personal Updates and NFL Predictions

01:12:41
Speaker
out my sister. She um had her baby today.
01:12:45
Speaker
Oh, congrats, Sean's sister. had a baby. Where's the girl? It's a girl named Madeline. Nice. Is that your first niece or nephew? Yeah, first time ever. So congratulations. She was a week and a half late, so she was in a lot of pain last night.
01:13:01
Speaker
Yeah. it's your last tonight but I was eight days late. Sorry, Mom. That was a month early. oh really? Yeah, I had jaundice. I was in the hospital for like ah like three weeks.
01:13:12
Speaker
Oh, damn. I was in the hospital too for ah RSV, but... yeah that's why have shitty lugs lungs i just like gandalf arrived at the moment i was expected to be i was a month early and uh that's why they say i like the sun so much because just have to just throw me in like the jumper in front of the sun because it was like how jaundiced like oh that must be why you're the sun so much again maybe yeah yeah so shout out to my sister thank you she loves she listens so We got um relations NFL playoffs is this weekend, right? Yep. Let's quickly, you guys have predictions? Who do you think is winning?
01:13:47
Speaker
All right. Patriots 28, Broncos 20, Rams 21, Seahawks 20. Bang. Book it. Super Bowl. It's happening. It's back. We're back. It's back.
01:14:01
Speaker
The NFL definitely wants it to be Patriots. They don't want, they don't want, they don't want Sam. They don't want Sam Darnold. Yeah. They want the two MVPs basically facing each other. Yeah.
01:14:13
Speaker
The world Patriots will a hundred percent when I think Patriots, no doubt are going to win. And then on the NFC, that one's more of a coin toss. Cause both teams are good. And I could see either one's winning. It's in, it's in Seattle, right? I'm assuming. So I'm leaning towards Seattle just because of that, but I would not at all be surprised if the Rams win.

So it's going real close on that one Yeah. going to go Patriots Rams should be Patriots bears, but you know, whatever. That, I was wrong the other week. The Bears did beat the Packers, but then they fell in overtime to the Rams. If it was Pat's Bears, I would have gone with you.
01:14:49
Speaker
Dude, i I would have. I would have. I swear to God, I would have. it's It's so weird because i was saying this to to my friends. is like Most of the time when the NFL playoffs start, I'm just enjoying the playoffs because the Bears never make it. they like I think i mean they made 2018. Before that, it was like 2010. So they're they're never in the playoffs. and so i was like So most years I'm just like, all right, football NFL playoff time. Let's see who gets to the Super Bowl. And this year when the Bears lost, it was the first time i was just like โ€“ man, I don't even care about football anymore because I saw my team do amazing things this year, and then they just fell in the in ah in a heartbreaking fashion. after ah one of time After one of the greatest game-tying touchdowns in NFL history, that was one of the greatest plays I've ever seen. The longest 14-yard touchdown pass ever. If you just read the box score, it's only a 14-yard touchdown pass. 52 yards through the air, 14-yard completion. In absolute insanity.
01:15:48
Speaker
But I'm looking forward to the future of my Bears team. I think they have a bright future, hope to God at least. They do. They do. And I hope the Steelers get a good coach. Yeah, I'm rooting for a Patriots-Rams Super Bowl because I think that'll be a much more fun game. Not if it's like the last one. That was one of the worst Super Bowls I've ever seen in my life. Yeah, but it was like the first one, we're in for a doozy. There you go. Yeah, because that was that other one like 12-7 or something like that. 13-3.
01:16:18
Speaker
thirteen to three Oh, my God, that was a horrible one. But Stephon Gilmore had one of the best interceptions ever seen. Nice. Yeah, I just remember being bored out of my skull during that series. Oh, was hyped. Oh, yeah, team was epic. Over six!
01:16:32
Speaker
I worry if the Seahawks make it. Sam Darnold has been pretty good this year, but he has shown at times where he completely melts down. The other shoe going to drop. Yeah, and I could see the Patriots causing him to melt down and just throw a bunch of picks, and be a horrible game. I'm seeing ghosts.
01:16:47
Speaker
He said it against them. Monday Night Football. yeah So let's hope the Rams make it so we have a more entertaining game. But anyway, that's my final thought. Shout out to football. Yeah. I also want the Rams to make it because then the Bears loss doesn't seem so heartbreaking because they lost to the Super Bowl contenders. So I'd be OK with that. Exactly. like Like me with Ohio State. The two teams that beat Ohio State were the two national title games. That game was insane. Indiana was so good this year. Dude, the fact that they talked about that game. That the hardest quote of all time was just like, why do you think, you know, whatever? And he goes, I win. Google me. It's just like, that's the most badass thing a coach has ever said. It's so awesome.
01:17:27
Speaker
But I remember when he first said that some people were clowning him like, oh, this dude, and he's got a huge ego, but he shut everyone up. Yeah. I can't believe how good Indiana is. It's insane. They've been bad forever. Yeah, that was one of the most dominant seasons. I don't even care about college football, but that was one of the most dominant seasons I've seen from a team. It was LSU 2020 or Well, because that was what, Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, and Jamar Chase. Yeah. that didn' say Although, if you look at Burrow, that offense was insane that year. I think people say that's definitively like the best offense in college. yeah Yeah, you have the two best receivers in football paired with one of like a top four of the best quarterbacks in football. like Yeah, they were airing it out. that was That's incredible. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, my final thought was, yeah, I'm excited for these. cases So I'll ah I'll try. I'll try kill him if it if it's if I can get other friends to just try it. But I'm not really that excited for it. But Fable cannot wait. I might play that on PlayStation five if it has a pro enhanced edition. Oh,

Gaming Platform Preferences

Speaker
hell yeah. that That's the place to play it. Yeah, because I like I'm like, I'll probably play Beast of Reincarnation on Xbox and same with forces just because our game pass and I'll get them for free. But Fable, I might buy that on PlayStation to play on the Pro because yeah it looks that game looks so good.
01:18:45
Speaker
Sean, did your dad care at all about Fable? No. Does he play those types of games? as he Yeah, he does, but he has no interest in Fable. He's um like, he has no interest in Fable. He was somewhat interested in Beast of Reincarnation, but not really. He likes more...
01:19:00
Speaker
he likes moored Tradition. What's his favorite games? I mean, reads talk about Resident Evil. or car He likes Resident Evil. He likes Final Fantasy. um He likes Dragon Quest a lot.
01:19:12
Speaker
He loves Gran Turismo. So that's why he's excited for Forza. ah He liked Octopath. It was more of a traditional JRPG. So he's more of like the traditional like like JRPG guy rather than the kind of like the Personas.
01:19:27
Speaker
Speaking of Octopath, and I'm so sorry, I've squirreled the end of this episode so bad. okay But did you beat Octopath Zero? No, I actually put it down for Trails for right now. going to come back to it, though, because okay there is a couple people that I'm going to play it with, and then we're going to do an episode on it, a DLC on it.
01:19:44
Speaker
Ooh, okay, cool. All right. That's enough squirreling and trailing off for me. Sorry. hish You're good. away Thank you everyone for listening. Obviously, please subscribe if you haven't already.
