It seems like it was just yesterday when I launched my podcast and now I'm ending the first season. Wow! Thank you so much for sticking around, I really appreciate you.  In this finale episode, I'd like to remind all of us about how important it is to have a grateful heart and still be able to look into the bright side despite hardships. Let's also have a quick season 1 recap on the episodes and stats we have this season.

Reflections on Gratitude and Thanksgiving

00:00:02
Speaker
Last Thursday, November 26th, USA celebrated its Thanksgiving Day. And I thought, what better way to end this season by giving thanks? Thank you. Thank you for having me. Thank you for having me.
00:00:33
Speaker
Thank you. Two very simple words with a wonderful meaning. We say this when we're grateful, when we count our blessings, and we feel that all things work together for our good. I'd like to end this episode by giving thanks.

Finding Positives in 2020's Challenges

00:00:55
Speaker
I thank God for guiding me throughout this year and for blessing me with many opportunities. I am thankful for 2020 because no one of us here in IGBI was infected by COVID. I am thankful for the pandemic. Why? Because it pushes us to be closer to God.
00:01:26
Speaker
When do you experience something like this? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good? When do you feel good?
00:02:05
Speaker
So thank you Lord for the pandemic.

2020 Hardships: A Global Perspective

00:02:17
Speaker
Thank you Lord for bringing us here in the Bible school.
00:02:22
Speaker
This experience is different from what I've experienced before. I'm thankful that we're still striving for the glory of God in these things. This year has been so difficult for many of us.
00:02:50
Speaker
COVID-19 hit, wildfires in every places, and here in the Philippines, we were hit by so many typhoons. A lot of people lost their homes, their jobs, and most of all, their loved ones. In times like this, how can we even be thankful?

Silver Linings and Overcoming Difficulties

00:03:17
Speaker
Easier said than done,
00:03:21
Speaker
But when we look into the bright side of things, we will be able to still be thankful despite our circumstances. Life is not always low. Whatever problems we're facing doesn't last forever. If you are in the dark moments of your life now, know that this too shall pass.
00:03:55
Speaker
and know that there is a way out. God is going to send someone or something to help us out. We may not know what or how, but His word promises us that He will give us rest.

Podcast Season Reflections and Guest Appreciation

00:04:10
Speaker
As I end this season, I would like to express my heartfelt thanksgiving to everyone who've become my guest
00:04:19
Speaker
This season, we learned about homeschooling. Marriage and ministry
00:04:49
Speaker
When I was born, I was born in India. My problem was that when I was born, I became a partner. When I was born, I had a lot of experience. When I was born, I became a partner. When I was born, I became a partner.

Speaker
Parenting.

Balancing Work and Family Responsibilities

00:05:38
Speaker
Honestly, especially what happens with work I can be in the hospital eight to ten sometimes twelve hours in a date and One like I always I always had the champion having that support system with my wife who you know, you know takes a lot of the brunt of the effort and
00:05:55
Speaker
It's so important because I know I wouldn't be able to do what I need to do at work if I didn't have someone who you know who held down the fort at home and Having having the kids at home it gives you that spark of energy when you are working You know that that eighth hour that ninth hour that tenth hour and understanding that you have someone someone to go home to you have kids and
00:06:18
Speaker
who are gonna be super happy once you touch the door. Like, even if you're having a bad day, they don't care that you're having a bad day. They're just glad that daddy's home and everyone's happy about it. If I measured it just by the sheer time I spent with them, then I'd always be sad.

Understanding Autism and Individual Differences

00:06:38
Speaker
Autism.
00:06:40
Speaker
So, autism is a neurological disorder or diagnosis, so it impacts the brain. And how we would see it, those who are not healthcare professionals, how you all would see it would be,
00:06:58
Speaker
Through sensory, like if your child reacted to certain clothes or certain food items and didn't like how it felt, there's another characterization called stimming.
00:07:13
Speaker
Just when they do something repeatedly, like spin in circles, there's also the language communication, so there may be a speech delay, comprehension, not quite understanding what you're trying to convey in a conversation, especially if they don't have an interest in it.
00:07:35
Speaker
So there's many things that put, you know, it's on a spectrum. So for instance, my daughter thinks that she may have somebody else might not present with. So it just depends on that particular individual and what their characteristics of autism are. And I got a bonus sit-down with my son. How are you? I am okay. What do you do?
00:08:04
Speaker
everyday.
00:08:07
Speaker
play outside, I really want to play basketball, but it's COVID and I can't go far from it. So when there's no COVID, ringworm still exists. If we touch contaminated objects, when there's no COVID, only the ringworm goes into our body. But now when we touch contaminated objects, even the COVID can be passed into our body.
