Guidance on Godly Fatherhood

00:03:46
Speaker
I love you I love you both and Papa
00:04:33
Speaker
Let's talk about the biblical standard of what a father should be. I have three points now to discuss.
00:04:43
Speaker
Number one is, a godly father leads his family. In Joshua chapter 24 verse 15, El Sabeza Bible is, and if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your father served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.
00:05:12
Speaker
But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." This is a very famous verse, Naseenabini Joshua, during the time that he was leading the Israelites. And we can see that he was firm, a firm decision. He and his house, his family, his household, they are going to serve the Lord, no matter what happens. That's a good example of being a leader in the family.
00:05:42
Speaker
Number two, a godly father does not provoke their children. Another verse that I really like is in Ephesians chapter 6 verse 4. It says in the New King James Version, and you fathers do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
00:06:05
Speaker
So first night we see two different things. Number one is the thing that fathers should not do. That is to bring their children to wrath. And the second one is what they should do. And that is to bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. You can imagine someone for sure in your mind
00:06:30
Speaker
In fact, while I'm saying this, who are really setting a good example in training their children, they can be training them to sports or they can be training them to different other things, music, arts. These dads, they are really training their kids very well.
00:07:00
Speaker
That's what the Bible says also. A godly father trains their children not only to sports, to music, to arts, or any other interest that they want their children to do or to have, but most especially to train them to love the Lord in the admonition of the Lord and set a good example of being a godly man to their children as well.

Lessons on Forgiveness

00:07:25
Speaker
Number three,
00:07:26
Speaker
A godly father is a forgiving father. And we see that in Luke chapter 15, a very famous Bible story as well about the prodigal son. The prodigal son is a very famous son. He is a very famous son. He is a very famous son. He is a very famous son. He is a very famous son.
00:07:59
Speaker
He doesn't care. All he thinks is that they're rich and he wants a portion of that money already.
00:08:09
Speaker
I want my part. He wanted a portion of that money. And we know how the story goes. He went far.
00:08:32
Speaker
He enjoyed everything. Friends. Or he thought it was their friends. He drank.
00:08:44
Speaker
spent the entire day getting married. And then came one day, there was a family in the land that he had to work and almost ate. And so, he thought,
00:09:15
Speaker
So I would, it would probably be best if I go home and apply. What happened? When he went home, we know the story. His father welcomed him with arms open wide.
00:09:41
Speaker
and in fact, an accelerator. When you think about it, it's unbelievable. But that's how parents are. That's how forgiving some fathers are. And we may not understand it, but it's love. It was love.
00:10:06
Speaker
When I was growing up, very strict, he was such a disciplinarian. It was part of the discipline. And growing up, I did not understand.
00:10:27
Speaker
I thought... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So I, growing up, I looked at my... So
00:10:59
Speaker
In fact, very caring, Sha. I did not see that for a very long time, but I am so happy that I finally realized everything was for us. It was for us for our own good. And we thought, nah, I enjoyed the life of the people, the discipline of the people.
00:11:21
Speaker
They didn't. They just had to. So right now, when I see my father, I remember my dad. It's nothing but a loving dad. A very sweet and loving dad. He does not express it in a very sweet way like our mothers do, but we know
00:11:42
Speaker
We know that He is a very loving that I am forgiving that I do. So yeah, that's the standard of what a father should be. That's the biblical standard. A godly father is a forgiving and a loving father. We know that these biblical standards are not easy to do.
00:12:03
Speaker
It's not easy to lead a family. It's not easy to train your children. It's not easy to be a loving and forgiving father, especially when your kids do something wrong. But this is what a godly father is. And this is nothing that we can do on our own. It's something that only by God's grace can we do.
00:12:30
Speaker
And because I planned for a Mother's Day episode, but I was too busy to do it. Here's also a late Mother's Day greetings to my fellow moms. Hi Ma. Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day. Salaam alaikum.
