Welcome to 'The Fellowship of the Tabletop'
00:00:49
Speaker
Hello, welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set in the magical world of Aerith. My name is Mark and I am the Dungeon Master and I am so excited. Also with us for today's episode we have Ian who plays the Dragonborn Barbarian Drago. What up? We've got Darren who plays the human fighter Rogue Robin. Holy malign pointy-eared prick Batman. Malign pointy-eared prick.
00:01:21
Speaker
I broke my heart. We've got Danny who plays the human cleric, Claude. Hello, less aggressively. We've got Callum who plays the known sorcerer four liters all by the ninth. I'm still laughing from Darren's there, just greetings, hello. Oh god. And that's him, there is no will.
00:01:37
Speaker
for this week, you lucky things, you lucky listeners. So for the last two episodes we've had a kind of breakaway bit where we've been introduced to some other people, people around the table who haven't actually met or listened to, obviously yet, at all.
Crisis at the Burning Tavern
00:01:49
Speaker
So I'm not going to talk too much about that, but the last time we were with this group of individuals, the OG party, if you will, we found ourselves stood outside of a burning tavern which had been lit on fire, the bag of holding had gone missing,
00:02:05
Speaker
And dead of night, rain coming down, the amber glow of another fire still slowly being put out off in the distance of the time of High Haven. Wait, not High Haven, where are we?
00:02:19
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, but it was the fire from the sort of gang civil war and I was that fire Yeah, yeah, I get good. I didn't know if L. Thierry was just running along now. She's a musical montage him like... Stop stealing my name!
00:02:41
Speaker
Yeah, that's the old that's the fire from previously the building and we find ourselves Dotted around in different groupings. I'm right thinking drago and funny you two were together Miraculously diving out of the window before the building starts to collapse Robin you're with
00:02:58
Speaker
And the way I remember it is, the door was on the south side, me and Talia have exited via the window on the west side of the building, Drago and Folly have fallen out of a window on the north side and Claude's come out of the door on the south side. Just to paint the picture. Lovely, thank you very much, nice and clear there. So we find ourselves separated looking up at this now.
00:03:22
Speaker
Burning building the whole thing is a light now people are starting to come out looking out of windows The building sits alone almost in the center of a small mini square So it's not going to light any other buildings on fire. How many problems with that? This is where we find ourselves.
Escape and Regroup
00:03:38
Speaker
It's dark. It's night. You're in just whatever you managed to grab Before you made your way out during the skill challenge last episode What do you have to do?
00:03:50
Speaker
I assume that Nura, my Falcon, has seen Drago and Folly cos she was on the windowsill on the north side. She's seen those two fall out of the window. Absolutely, yep. So you, Robin, are aware of where pretty much everyone is around the building at this point. So I would immediately snap back out of Nura and turn to Talia and say, Drago and Folly are on the other side. We have to get to them. OK. You lead the way in. She's kind of just wrapped up, wet through now because of the rain following you.
00:04:18
Speaker
I will come round that side of the building and probably see them. Drago's face down in the mud as he fell out the window. I believe he rolled like a four or something in my dexterity. So I just, the way that planned out was you jumped onto me. We ran out, I ran out of the window and you then kind of almost pulver'd off my body, flipped around and landed on your feet. I landed the same time.
00:04:46
Speaker
As your feet landed perfectly on the ground, my whole dragon form onto the ground on the muddy thing. I always envision that you slightly after, so to me that lands very gracefully.
00:04:59
Speaker
Dragonborn landing next to me. And I feel that like two or three splatters of mud hit your face and one on your tunic. Apart from that you're like perfectly clean. Yeah, there's three splatters that are on you and you've got Dragonborn face down. Did I land on you, Folly? I've got mud in my eyes. Folly, are you okay? I'm fine, Drago. I landed, well, better than you. That was not a good idea.
00:05:26
Speaker
Are you okay? Are you okay? Drago, are you sitting down? I'm okay. You're pointing somewhere else, Drago. My face hurts. It's been a night. Drago looks up at the building behind him.
00:05:45
Speaker
I'm not paying for it. Folly is just going to have a casual hopple over to his rucksack that I basically pushed out of the window before I escaped with Drago. It's probably due to its way slightly embedded into the ground now, so it's imprinted into it. The handle of Drago's sword is still poking out at the top of the rucksack. Folly, I might need my sword.
00:06:11
Speaker
Yes, I think at best you do take it. And Jargos kind of gets up slowly and walks over to the bag and just unsheaths his sword from the bag and just kind of straps it back to his back. I guess we should find out if it makes sure they're okay. And just as you say that, you see the human figure of a man walk around the corner of the building you recognise to be Robin. Is everyone alright?
00:06:33
Speaker
Well, being folio accounted for, what were you entirely with him? You entirely? What about Claude? I haven't seen him. Elthea wasn't in his room, I've had to check. I don't know where he...
Fire Alert and Investigation
00:06:48
Speaker
I don't know where they are. Maybe we should try around the other side of the building perhaps to see if they made it out the front door? It'll keep walking, it'll keep walking. The front door's the best solution I suggest trying to find Claude. Yeah, we should make sure that the towns are where they don't crush in. We will move as a party round the building to try and get to the main street to see if Claude made it out of the front door. Okay, and as you approach round the front portion of the street you do see Claude
00:07:14
Speaker
Don't see Claude. You don't see Claude. While they were trying to get to their feet and stuff, instinctively I would have cast Thaumaturgia myself again and run to the town guard shouting fire, fire at the inn, fire at the inn. Yep. So they would have heard, because it amplifies my voice like three times like this, they would have heard a Claude siren running up the street towards the town guard. What would that sound like?
00:07:38
Speaker
I don't know. I couldn't physically amplify my voice three times higher. Maybe that's something that can be done in post. Could we do any editing? Yeah, yeah. Oh fuck. Now we've got to try and figure it out. But we need an example of it. Fire! Fire! Hot fire! Hapnipop!
00:07:56
Speaker
Help! And you can probably just, maybe you won't be able to fully hear this end because the crackling of the building, the bits of the building that are kind of collapsing and falling down as the fire has enveloped this whole, this whole tavern now. You can just hear the kind of wails of something off in the distance, not wails as in W-H. Not that. The wails, W-A-I-L-S, of noise off in the distance and you can assume it's some kind of screaming child, maybe. Can I roll a investigation over, so...
00:08:21
Speaker
hearing in the background, Claude. Fire, fire. Can I just turn towards the building and assess whether or not the rain that's fallen is gonna put the flames out and there's no danger of it spreading? Or will, like, the firefighter crew from the previous episodes have to get involved? Okay, yeah, give me the roll, yeah. How up to dark? Cocked. Yeah, that is so cocked. 11.
00:08:49
Speaker
As you assess the building, you assess the height of the flames, this building is engulfed. It's pretty much already by the time you dove out the window, a lost pause, that even if you did put the fire out, the building would have to have been collapsed. Is it going to spread to the other building? The building stands alone, so there's no real risk of it going on to any other building and lighting anything else on fire in the town. This building is done for everyone. We should... I hear Claude in the background. We should try and search for Althea.
00:09:20
Speaker
There's no hope here. I don't say anything in response to that, but I'm deeply worried that there are people still in this building who have not got out. Can I make the same check to see if there's any one still trying to get out of it? Yep, absolutely, yeah. Investigation again? Yes, please, investigation. Good talk all. Plus 10, 13. Wow, you got 10! Roads, man. Expertise.
The Vanished Bag of Holding Mystery
00:09:44
Speaker
start scouring through the buildings, you remember back to the number of doors, you remember the clientele that were there, you try to remember conversations you overheard, and it's a bit kind of history almost as well, that you overheard whilst in the pub about who was staying, who wasn't staying, you're pretty certain that if Claude is out and Elthir is out, the only person unaccounted for would be the owner and proprietor of the
00:10:12
Speaker
Though, you're not sure if indeed he stayed there at all, but that's the only other person you'd assume would be there. Okay, um, Robin doesn't say anything. He's gonna follow Draghi.
00:10:24
Speaker
Yeah, let's go around to the front of the building. We need to find out there. He wasn't in his room, I can only assume he was trying to help others out. Claude, I don't know, I can hear him. He's definitely out, probably trying to help everyone in his way. Sorry, I was just adding also, Matt, you asked about if the rain's gonna put out the fire as well. Yes, the rain's picking up at this point and we'll most likely get in the fire that is going on. The rain is falling harder.
00:10:52
Speaker
Whatever happens here, we need to find Claude and get off the street as soon as possible. I don't suspect this was an accident. Yeah, well we'll ascertain that as time goes on.
00:11:03
Speaker
Let's go and find. Well, let's try and find our fear first. Well, are we at the moment? Are we at the front of the building? Yeah, pretty much at the front of the building where the front door is to this, um, not too far is the square where King of the Apollos II's statue is, and where you would find Kelsan's cartridge, graphic wonders, and all those other, um, shops, decopter kettles, copper kettles shop, and, ah, hammer and breastplate is also the other side of that square as well, so some of the places you visited.
00:11:32
Speaker
He's been cleaning, so maybe let's make our way there. I don't know if there's anything that can be done here. Again, we'll just quickly hoyke over to Claude and where you've been. So you've been running up and down towards the center of town guard, a main garrison or something like that. That would probably be at the northern gate and there are a couple of guards there that listen to hear you booming. These words of fire up the street and they quickly start sending people out. They come down to investigate and have a look at the building and again,
00:12:01
Speaker
They're going to run past you. Is there anything else you want to do? Yeah, I would have probably asked them where the commander is, who's the leading authority on this evening's watch. They kind of look at each other. No one really, it's just us on this gate really. Commander's out at the moment, he's gone south to Goldview, there's a meeting of
00:12:23
Speaker
Of commanders, unfortunately. I am a knight of this realm, and I need to speak to someone in charge urgently. I think that most likely will be me. What is your name? Delos. Delos. D-E-L-O-S. In case you want to write it down, you bearded man. Delos. My name is Sir Coldheart. The person who is responsible for these fires is an enemy of sleepguard now.
00:12:51
Speaker
And by order of King Leopold II, I would like to wish you a warrant for his arrest. Of course, I will send our men to write up as soon as we know more. What of his name? His name is Elthea of the Sword Coast. And he takes out a quill and a small piece of paper and writes down, Elthea Sword Coast. I've never heard of the Sword Coast before.
00:13:18
Speaker
Island somewhere? It is an island somewhere to the north. To the north, and he notes that down. He has wanted for crimes against the king. Crimes against? And he is to be captured alive.
00:13:29
Speaker
Of course, sir, I will write this up and send this to all areas of sleepguard. I will also send it to Goldview to be passed across the kingdoms to make sure that if this El Thea figure is found, then we shall indeed apprehend him and bring him to justice. He has information important to the king he is to be kept alive. On your order.
00:13:50
Speaker
Thank you. And then he makes queen notes that hands off to an errand boy, he takes it away, and then he makes his way down to the tavern to check on the quality of what's remaining in the building. Yeah, that's it. I'll probably then head back. Okay. I would look for longingly out of the North Gate Road, expecting that that is maybe one of the ways that Elfie exited. And I'll just cast Thor Matergi one more time, and I'll shout, healthy!
00:14:19
Speaker
three times louder out into the water.
00:14:24
Speaker
the loudest, slightest voice. Depends on the weather, all the factors. Yeah. I mean, I've got quite a bit of rain at this point as well. OK, and you're just going to see almost your sound travel out further, further, further, echoes in the nearest buildings, but you can chime in your voice out and kind of, I don't know, you're really hoping for, but the voice travels out into the dark forest of the night as the rain starts to come down. I fucking love the sound of that scene in my head of you, the rain's falling down.
00:14:52
Speaker
out on the edge of Evershire just shouting out Elthea's name. I love that image, I think that's brilliant. Man, I've got chills from that. Would I have been far away enough that they probably wouldn't have heard that with the rain and everything? To be honest, I'm imagining you're kind of firing us through the gates, which would channel it further, right? Because I had that conversation with Elthea before everything happened, or it's just me and him.
00:15:16
Speaker
Yeah, I wanted to soften the blow for them if I did Yeah, they wouldn't have they wouldn't have heard that because get a child out and they kind of been sucked up by the forest Okay, is there anyone of the public around our group Yes, so as you get to the front door and you realize you can there's no healthier that you can hear Claude off So you know, he's he's out and safe and probably doing
00:15:42
Speaker
It's a t-shirt right there. Just doing my Claude thing. Just doing my Claude thing. They always are going to have me for us. Leaving my best Claude. That's the bottom of the sticker. There are, there's a couple of old women who have stood around, kind of wrapped up in a shawl, looking, they've stepped out of a nearby residential building, kind of watching what's happening and seeing these figures approach. They're keeping their distance back, keeping cover under a lip of the
00:16:09
Speaker
Building there stood in front of the door of kind of watching events that are taking place. Apart from that, most people are kind of looking at windows. They're staying out of the rain really at this point. This is the second fire in a night, so people aren't risking it. What did you see? I'll immediately say to the first one as I come round the corner. I'll immediately approach the first one. What did you see? Hello, um, Padron. What did you see? The fire, did you see anything? Yes, yeah, I saw the fire. It started very badly.
00:16:39
Speaker
What's up? Did you see anything? Well, I woke up and I smelled burning and I knew that my husband would put the fire out in our house because of the rain, our blockage. He's asking, did you see how this fire started? Well, usually it's a spark or some kind of tinder which would... At the pub? No. That's burning down now. He's asking, do you know?
00:17:07
Speaker
No, not particularly. However, they did see a figure walking out after the fact. What did this figure look like? I couldn't see. My eyesight was very poor, and this figure was cloaked in a... Cloak? So I could not make out features, if you will. By that I mean... How tall? Taller than I, but shorter than V.
00:17:36
Speaker
So, anywhere, really, because I am very small, young dragonborn, and you are very tall. However he or she, I do not know, moved with a...
00:17:49
Speaker
Inhuman pace, which I have not seen, though, in my years. I have seen many strange things, but they moved with a speed that I have not seen here. The bag of holding was missing.
Cloaked Figure and Fire's Origin
00:18:02
Speaker
The bag of holding was missing from my room. Oh, no. Someone. That's terrible. Your part of this conversation is done.
00:18:11
Speaker
Well, good evening to you. Get in and be safe. Did you start the fire? No, we did not, but get in and be safe. Yeah, I saw that happen. Get in and be safe. Oh, thank you very much. Come on, dear. We'll be going. One final thing, and she reopens the door and steps out. I didn't, per se, make out features, but I noticed the eyes. I did see the eyes. There's
00:18:40
Speaker
aura from where the eyes should be from this figure as they turn their head and then just disappear up the street. I don't know if that helps. Purple eyes. Yes. Right. Get in and be safe. Thank you, Mr. Dragon Man. Thank you. It sounds kind of that made it sound like Elthir went all Anakin Skywalker. No, no, no. What happens after Skywalker? And then his red eyes afterwards.
00:19:08
Speaker
The bag of holding, I hid it as normal behind some floorboards. Only someone who would have the skills to find it would have been able to have found that without disturbing me. So we're looking for a thief? Wait, so we've lost everything? We've lost everything that was in the bag of holding. Oh dear, shit! My friends, I think, I think Elphir did this. And I'll start to move in the direction of Claude's voice.
00:19:34
Speaker
I would turn to Folly. Is it Kylie with Robin? She'll probably... If Robin's moved away, Kylie would wait to see how the others would react to that and leave Robin to... We need to be careful. We can't jump to... I'm talking to you, Folly. We need to be careful here. We can't jump to conclusions. We already had one massive fight in this party just a few hours before. Let's heed benefit of the doubt for now. Keep an eye on Robin.
00:20:03
Speaker
because he seems to be taking this pretty hard. Yeah, we need to ignore the facts, don't we? Without evidence, everything is just circumstantial. And for all we know, he could have took the bag of holding and run away chasing somebody. We don't even know if he got the bag of holding. It's far too much that we don't know. Let's just...
00:20:34
Speaker
We're trying to find out what's going on. As that conversation has taken place, Robin has just stepped away. You do notice two members of the guard start to approach, and behind them both, you do see the low hulking, hunchbacked bearded figure of Claude start to appear from round one of the corners from the north. Well, Claude, never thought I'd say this. I'm happy to see you. I'm happy to see you. What?
00:21:07
Speaker
Yeah. Did you succeed? I don't think anyone's died. How did you manage to get out of there? On the front door. That's smart. Why didn't we try that? I think there was a fire in the way. We end up Supermanning out of the window. Who? Supermanning. I believe that's what the town folk call an act where you try and fly and fail.
00:21:35
Speaker
In my case. But you don't have wings, Dragon. I don't. If you have wings, I think you could fly. Maybe. The other dragons have wings, don't they? Maybe. Where are your wings? I think that's a question for another time in another place. I'd like to remember to ask that again. I hope you don't, but if you do, we will talk about it at length.
00:21:59
Speaker
Okay, so we find ourselves outside this building. The fire is slowly being put out now, there's steam rising above it, embers start to remain. You notice how badly burned this building now is. It's still standing, but it is very, very, very badly burned, with large chunks of wood now eaten away by the flames. This building is pretty much uninhabitable. The rain's falling quite heavily, and there's a gust of wind every now and then that picks up and drops off, making this rain seem to bite. Follow your...
00:22:28
Speaker
First time I met you, you were looking to the remains of a burning building. I don't suppose you could use your skills and ascertain if there's any bodies? Yes, of course I can. Maybe you also looked for the bag of holding. You never know. Yeah, okay. Folly's gonna go in and try and do a nice thorough investigation. He's basically trying to determine cause, origin, point of the file like he did in the first meet. If there is the remnants of
00:22:58
Speaker
any kind of live corpses basically there. We struggle to say it, don't we? Like, we're looking for burnt skeletons, really. Basically, I'm looking for them there by outfit. Actually, it just feels wrong, doesn't it? So wrong. Claude, seeing that you're starting to look in, Claude will say a small prayer and cast guidance on you. Oh, of course. What does that do again? You add a d4 to your art. Excellent.
00:23:25
Speaker
I'm going to make three rolls for this to see what you can see and get what you can get. Am I right thinking, because bits of it will have fallen down, it's not the safest of environments, are you going to be looking under things to try and see? He will be moving things that he deems are safe to move but still be very, very cautious because, well, he's ran shackled buildings before and he knows dangers that he would actually be looking for. I've made four checks.
00:23:50
Speaker
Damn it. But your first checks will feed into your second two checks, if that makes sense. Okay. So you're going to go history, investigation, sleight of hand, dexterity. And what your history and investigation will feed into is how and what you deem is safe to lift and move with sleight of hand. The dexterity modifier will then be used if indeed you fail anything and anything starts to fall on you. And that should, in theory, cover all bases. So could you please firstly give me a history check? Okay. Do I get guidance on everyone?
00:24:30
Speaker
Another thing for me to figure out. The history and investigation feed into lowering the DC. Come on, Folly, you got this. We're all good, man. Fourteen, sixteen. Sixteen for the history. Lovely, thank you very much. So you remember very clearly going back to the building you remember seeing in Clay Peak and multiple other buildings, it also starts to bring back memories of
00:24:54
Speaker
of even older times than that, where burning buildings have come up in your past as well. Could you please then, as we enter the doors of this burning building, instantly get this searing smell that reminds you again of your experiences and your work with fire anyway, and there's a dead silence in the, in the tavern, and everything has this black hue to it, and there's smoke billowing up throughout the window still, but this is of steam more than of fire. Could I have an investigation check please, Folly?
00:25:23
Speaker
That is 25. 25? You're bossing it man! You work your way through the building. As you look at certain points you notice an area of the bar that seems to, the bar seems to have almost totally disappeared. Comparing that to the fire damage taken on other areas you can ascertain that that was the central area where the fire was started.
00:25:47
Speaker
To whiskey fire starter! What do you think the quarter slap is for? What's he doing in there? Now's not the time for dancing!
00:26:10
Speaker
Speakers out in your back pants! Just smells like a place with no trance music going on. Would the remnants of what started the fire also be there?
00:26:24
Speaker
So you're looking even deeper into the... So I can ascertain where it started, but can I ascertain what actually started it? With a 25, yes. You get closer and you realise the epicentre of where this fire is and you notice small shards of melted glass that seem to be there. An amount of which you can ascertain probably came from a bottle of some description.
00:26:45
Speaker
From that, again, the glass being in the central area where the bar is the most burnt, you can probably closely assume that this came from some kind of bottled liquid which started a fire. It doesn't look like something fell out and accidentally started. It seems to have been a place to... Look like we've purposely done. Yes, absolutely, absolutely. Please may I have a slight of hand check? Next.
00:27:15
Speaker
That was awful, by the way. That was absolutely terrible. You ruined my 20. Well, I'd already lowered the DC-12 from the investigation you got there, so you passed that. So as you lift elements up, walk through doors, opening these burnt, charred, crisp doors, still hot to touch as you open them up to check around for any bodies, you work your way through all the doors upstairs, none are really...
00:27:37
Speaker
There's no bodies, there's no evidence of any corpses that you can find in there at all, including the Door of the End, which you thought could hold possibly the body of maybe the proprietor. No one is there also, okay? So as you make your way back down the stairs, could I please have a dexterity check, please? Come on, man, you've been killing these rolls. Dexterity check. Give me a dexterity saving throw. Yeah. Yes!
00:28:08
Speaker
25. As you start coming down the stairs, these stairs which are very, very badly burnt stairs, the stairs are badly burnt. Just assume everything's building, everything's fucked. As you start coming down the stairs, your light feet, but heavy backpack, popping down the stairs, you reach a specific step which cracks and snaps and your body starts to fall through, you manage to pop yourself back, but as you do, you realise that step
00:28:36
Speaker
And the support structure just out the side of the beam starts to kind of fall slightly and the roof falls on that section. Hitting just behind you as you reach, you just kind of pop yourself forward, it catches the edge of your backpack, but you check the backpack's fine. As the way upstairs is now totally blocked, you can now see the sky above you as well, the rain starts to pour through, as that part of the roof is now what's collapsed through. You've smashed that, 16 was your lowest roll.
00:29:02
Speaker
Yeah, well done. Damn straight. So you've established where the fire was, what might have caused the fire, and you've also established that this was not an accident. And there are no scent bodies. Absolutely, and there was no sign of the bag of holding. Yeah. Okay. I will basically come back out after my lease of investigation, look to the group which I see them just waiting for me to come back out after the risk of my life, even though I'm less than two foot tall for me. Stop story.
00:29:33
Speaker
It's... I'm afraid the evidence does not look good, gentlemen. Erm... The evidence is the burning building behind you. The evidence on its origins, Jack. Sorry, I was just picking up your sentence and going, well, there's the result.
00:29:48
Speaker
That is the result. Ain't no good here. It's the cause of their art. This was definitely, definitely intentional. There was some kind of flammable liquid poured over the barbed area and then just...
00:30:04
Speaker
set on fire to, well, for us or for anybody else in the building, I don't know, but it's definitely intentional. Everybody got out, that's certainly a good thing. That is a good thing. I'm afraid there's definitely no bag of holding in there, either. So, someone did this? Someone did this. Possibly the same person may have also took your bag of holding.
00:30:26
Speaker
I believe it was Elsie. Robin said the same thing. We haven't. He's not there. Just because we had an argument doesn't mean that he'd go full cycle like that. What about those cold rats or those other people? I mean, we accidentally burnt down a bit of their houses. We do have a lot of enemies. Tally's right. I don't want to just assume it's one of us.
00:30:52
Speaker
We could have had an enemy in our midst. Elves are very noble creatures, and what Althea did to Drago is very un-elf-like. We were told, beware of someone we are travelling with by the master.
00:31:08
Speaker
Some people thought it might be someone else other than Elthir and I apologise, Tali, that I thought it was you. But it's become quite clear after the conversation I had with Elthir before he burned down the pub.
00:31:24
Speaker
that maybe it was Alfie that burned down the pub. Wait, what? You spoke to Alfie? Yeah, I tried to... After he ranged on me. Yeah, I tried to help calm him down a bit and he was very upset. He wouldn't even show me his face. And then... What? Yeah, he just stayed doing that thing in the shadows, what he likes to do. He didn't show you his face? No, he wasn't. Did you see his eyes?
00:31:52
Speaker
No. He didn't turn around. He's being rude. Poke him a couple times, but he wouldn't turn. That's not like it.
00:32:03
Speaker
Sorry. Sorry, I didn't realize you'd gone and gone and gone. Yeah, I thought you were there. Yeah, I'd gone to try and find Claude, but I'd gone in the direction of his voice. I thought, as you went, he was coming. Yeah, yeah, that was the idea. I'm sorry, that's why I've not said anything. I thought that she walked off, because there's only one direction. Not the band. Claude was coming back. Yeah, sorry, that's the way I was intimating, that you were going to the sound of his voice, and that actually you would have met him along the way, and you didn't get that far. I thought you were just brooding. Yeah, me too. No, Robin was going to do some...
00:32:32
Speaker
breathing somewhere else because I thought I'd wandered off then hadn't I? Well I think for continuity because that's the way I've been playing it we'll say that when I went off to find Claude. So no I'm 34, 27. Thanks Dan, I love you. Um, I've turned Italian. That's not like him. No, that's not at all but nothing over the last couple of days seemed like him.
00:32:58
Speaker
Yeah, you're telling me. And Drago just reaches up to his face where there's a nasty world there. But there's a difference from hitting me. And let's be honest, sometimes I deserve it. Yeah. To then burning down an entire building with innocent lives. I did everything I could to persuade him to stay with us. What did he tell you? He said a lot of things. But the main thing was he never stopped being angry at you.
00:33:27
Speaker
You. I have that effect. Not interested. I'm irritated, way. He was... rage-y. Like what you get when you get angry. At you. Well yeah, I saw that when he was hitting me. That's why I let him carry on. I, of all people, I understand the need to rage out. Yeah. This is a big difference.
00:33:57
Speaker
I think because there's no way in hell we would have let you die at Elfie's hands. He decided to take it upon himself to try it in a more creative way. To kill everyone? Or just to kill me? Well, everyone and you, I don't know, but I am more than 50 fingers sure that this was Elfie.
00:34:28
Speaker
Shit. And I put a warrant out for his arrest. Where? What? Where who? All the sleep guard. He won't travel freely in our kingdom without being captured. Sorry, mate. That's a good point. Where is he? That's what I mean. If you burn the building down, or you're in a burning building, you look to help those you love, don't you? He didn't help. And he ain't there, Folly. You didn't find nobody.
00:34:57
Speaker
His absence is severely out of character. I went to his room. That's where you found me, Folly, and he wasn't in there. And the window was open. I can't remember if it was open or if I went over, closed it, then jumped through it, but... What I mean is... It would be rather pointless to do in the middle of a fire. Yeah, it was a very me thing to do. Even if he didn't start the fire, his window was open so he could have escaped and he's not here looking to help us.
00:35:27
Speaker
Which makes me think he started the fire. If he did go out the window, then it seems rather daft of setting the downstairs area on fire. You're getting confused. Am I? I'm saying if he didn't start the fire, he had an escape route and would have been fine. Oh. And he's not here right now helping us. Which means? He started the fucking fire.
00:35:55
Speaker
Yeah, that's why I'm going to get him arrested. Lord, I don't think I've ever heard you swear like that. No one's tried to burn me down like that before. I do think the evidence is mounting against him, Drago. I don't like to think of this as a comrade, but... This is dark. Well, where would he have gone then? We need to check with him. That's what he needs to do. I think first port of call, though, is trying to find
00:36:26
Speaker
Unless it was Robin. I don't think it was Robin. Robin was trying to find us. He had his... I need to talk to him about that. I was pretty sure there was a bird around. I think I saw it as I flew out the window. So Robin's trying to find us. No, Robin did try to find us. There's my point. If Robin were safe, he would have tried to find us. Robin is safe. He is trying... He was closest to Robin of all. Robin was already one step ahead.
00:36:56
Speaker
Elphir as well and then walked off. Why did Robin think it was Elphir? I don't know and if he does think this is Elphir this is going to hit him really hard. How are you two taking the news and I'm looking at Drago entirely? I don't know what to think at the moment. I don't believe it. I don't believe any of this but Elphir's not here. I'm
00:37:30
Speaker
I can't truly say if it was him, so I can't really react to it yet. I think I'm just processing. But Robin's emotions bubble closer to the surface. It would've hit him hard, we need to find him. As that conversation's taking place, we're just gonna swing over to where Robin is.
Robin's Solitude and Struggle
00:37:52
Speaker
Robin, you would've walked off.
00:37:54
Speaker
to sort your head out looking for Claude but obviously partially not looking for Claude if you know what I mean as well. Anything in particular you would have wanted to have done.
00:38:03
Speaker
In the foray of all of this, Robin is becoming increasingly emotional about what has happened. He's going to use his urchin background to try and find somewhere where someone with a nefarious background could refuge unseen. That's what Robin would try and do all of a sudden. He's going to try and find somewhere where he can be to gather his thoughts. Just a hide. Just a hidey hole, a foothold, a barn, anywhere like that. Okay. That kind of urchiny background of his to find somewhere where... Lovely.
00:38:30
Speaker
You go back to the central square where King Leopold sleep, like the second statue is, and you remember from your journey through to help Kelsan out, you remember seeing an alley off to the side where there was an amount of refuse and kind of thrown out vegetables and fruits. You remember that alley going further on as well, so I think you'd be aiming for something like that, somewhere dark, somewhere dismal, somewhere alone to go.
00:38:58
Speaker
Two things happen though on your approach to that and you're making your way back to it.
00:39:02
Speaker
First thing happens is you see a man, well you see a figure on a horse scalping down the street past you, just missing you as you go past. Suddenly the horse stops and quickly turns around. The hook gets pulled back and you recognise the face. It is Kelsan and he looks up wide eyed looking at you. As he came past me he would have immediately see as I filled the brush I would have got the arrow and just immediately have drawn it at the horse figure. He's got his, he rains in one hand and he holds up the other hand empty.
00:39:31
Speaker
Shoot Robin, it's just me. He pulls back his hood and you do see again that aura, that glow around him. I'm getting the fuck out of here. I'm saying it's not right. What do you mean? Fires everywhere. My shop, the tavern, there's a fire down in the south as well. And all... I've just seen what was it, half an hour ago, Elphir fucking sprinting.
00:39:58
Speaker
Disappearing. He didn't look right mate. He didn't. Where did he go? He went south. He went south. He's sprinting. In that direction. It's like an hour ago that happened. That's what he's getting at. Is that where his shop is? He said that's all been set on fire. No, it's in south. Sorry, south out of the city through the gates and gone. Like he left. I saw him go. It's basically he went south through and through the exit. He took the other city out of that way basically. Okay, retract. Robin haven't gone.
00:40:25
Speaker
Sorry, I guess I didn't get that clear. Sorry, to make it clear, I'm going to get offended, you see. He's gone my shop. I was collecting stuff after speaking to Sir Coldheart. What I needed to leave, I said I was going to leave Sleepguard, so I'm going to leave Sleepguard. I'm going to go to Goldview and I'm out of this fucking place. Listen, mate, I don't know what's going on, but I just think... I mean, are you all right? Are the others alive? I don't... Sleepguard isn't safe in Norcal, son.
00:40:53
Speaker
And with that he nods his head and picks up and off he goes down and down and he turns a corner banking and you can see him heading south which would be the path to get himself to gold view. Down that way and you're alone again and you do see as you spin your head back around you can see at the end of the street where Kel's son's cartographic wanders once stood is again flames. It's on fire, there's the last remains of flames taking place there but again the rain has started to deaden the flames.
00:41:23
Speaker
Robin at this point is going to look around him, feel a sense of hopelessness come over him and he's going to drop his bow and he's going to draw Ghostbane and take a deep look at the blade in his hands. He's written this the sword that Drallanus had given the past. Ghostbane is the short sword, the Elden crafted short sword that was given to the party for fighting the world.
00:41:52
Speaker
He's going to think about the conversations that Elphir had with him. He's going to process everything that happened to him in his life in Neverwinter, the betrayal. And the rage is going to be too much, and he's just going to start swinging wildly at the nearest thing next to him, which is probably, unfortunately, Leopold's statue.
00:42:14
Speaker
Oh, cause-faced hair! I can give a fuck, it doesn't matter who Leopold is, he's going to start absolutely rage for the first time. Robin's composer is completely gone and eventually the swings will become more and more pathetic and he will just, the sword will drop to his side and he'll just slouch down against the statue with his back to it.
00:42:44
Speaker
and he's not going anywhere immediately. Sat in the rain, just trying to come to terms with that this has happened to him again. Yep, he kind of pans back with the rain, kind of pouring on you. When did we return to the statue? There was a thing where I tried to get someone to lift me up so I could cast something on the statue.
00:43:05
Speaker
I did do that, right? I had to have raised you up with his boots. Yeah, I put the spell banishment on anyone that did anything aggressive.
00:43:23
Speaker
Oh, let's play this! Oh, this is amazing! Let him go! Just to clarify, it was the glyph of warding, so I contained a spell within the statue, and the moment anything aggressive happened towards it, it would automatically trigger banishment on the aggressive, which is insane. Throw-based thing for a minute, yeah, it would get banished to a plane of hell.
00:43:45
Speaker
I did not expect it to go this way. It's a charisma 17 saving throw. So just give us the check first of all. Yeah. That's been the luck point. Okay, what'd you roll? Two. I'm not going to fire it. That's an eight.
00:44:02
Speaker
You go to town on the statue, you're swinging, you're screaming, sweat pouring, you know, the rain's pouring on your face, you swing, swing, swing. Like you said, everything happens just as you said it, Roman, nothing changes. You slouch back against the statue and you just take a couple of breaths and you try and recompose yourself but not really, your mind's elsewhere and suddenly you feel this rumble from behind you as the statue
00:44:28
Speaker
You feel that maybe if this is the horse's hooves on the ground you can only feel it from the statue behind you and all of a sudden you just feel like your back starts to get cold and very cold and then very cold and all of a sudden darkness for a couple of seconds. You have to pause there because it gets worse. Okay.
00:44:48
Speaker
Oh god. If he's not from this plane of existence, he is burnished back to that plane of existence. So yeah, if Sawcoast isn't on the same plane of existence, he's no longer in Eryth permanently. Yep. Okay. Oh my god. But if he is, he just goes to hell for a minute. Oh my god. In your head.
00:45:12
Speaker
And in your body you start to feel a number of things happening. Firstly, you seem to have a replayed set of visions that seem to flash through your head and you start to see certain figures. You remember you see the tall figure in the statue standing, the head turning, staring at the eyes, the screaming.
00:45:31
Speaker
these repelade images of Thrace down, of chenna, of these places and times of pain, of the building in Neverwinter exploding in the distance, the feeling of dread and overwhelming steps of betrayal hit you again and again, and running over and over, the time in Neverwinter, the time of your sister, the time with Tali, the time of this. All these events start to play in those high emotive sections of your life, and all of them, that is,
00:45:57
Speaker
and repeats and repeats, your hands you feel this burning sensation take over your body and as you try to open your eyes you can still see these images kind of flashing quickly almost second images just appearing and appearing and appearing and this screaming just increasing and increasing and increasing and all of a sudden you feel the rain falling on you again and your backs against this statue
00:46:22
Speaker
and down in your hands you feel the sword glowing, it's like not glowing, but it feels warm in your hands. Just the health that feels warm in your hand as you hold it down and you have no idea what's just happened, but you are still back at the statue, you've just had this weird glitch almost in your opinion. Okay. Say sorry to that. That was- That is not as bad as it did me rubbing the trigger in that spell.
00:46:50
Speaker
So that's just happened and you just had that kind of experience. Hello, drug trip. Fuck me, that's amazing. There's one plane of hell. Your own. Sorry, I'm trying getting back to you.
00:47:06
Speaker
or should have sent me back to the swordcoast, just throwing Robin straight back. Fuck. So, you find yourself there, back, again, with more things, if anything, to process than what you previously had to do. We'll swing back over to the... I just did a final caveat. I assume I would take one look at the statue and see there's no damage, because the glyph rewarding has just protected it.
00:47:28
Speaker
Yeah. Fuck. You wouldn't have even noticed that because you were just swinging the swords in Goodnik still as well. A couple of little dents in it but nothing got a bit of a bit of a bit of a pummel stone. Is that what you called it? Yeah. A few runs of a pummel stone over an evening wouldn't fix.
00:47:45
Speaker
in Blacksmithing as well. That shouldn't be a problem. The rain's now thick New York style rain, just kind of long lines. You know what you see in those films? It's a long line. New York style rain. Yeah, it's wet rain. You know what I mean? It gets really wet really fucking quickly, that kind of rain, but we're all sodden wet through at this point anyway, so it's the least of our worries. We'll pan back over to the group. Volley, Claude, Drago and Tali. I've got a shorthand name. She's Tali now. Who are we kidding?
00:48:13
Speaker
and we're stood in the streets looking around for Robin, I think at this point. Is there anything else we want to do? Where are we gonna find him? We saw him walk off that way, which he points off into the distance, but... He's a rogue. It's gonna be really hard to find him unless he wants to be found. Well, we don't necessarily need to find him ourselves. Not the entire kingdom's keeping an eye out for him. No, I meant Robin, not Elphir. Oh.
00:48:41
Speaker
He makes a good point though, we could try and find health here at the same time. I... I don't know, what should we do? I think our time in Evershire is over. I think we should leave before more houses burn because we're here.
00:48:58
Speaker
You make a good point. You said that Kelsan shops up in the flames. You don't know that, though. I can't see the smoke or anything like that. There's so much smoke from other burning stuff. Oh, is there just like... Yeah, this is like a fire. No, that's okay. I was just... The only person who currently knows that is... Robin. Okay, well, all we can do at the moment is try and find Robin and then try and find Althea. I still have a hard time believing he did this. Yeah.
00:49:27
Speaker
Okay, so, where should we go? Claude, you know this area pretty well. I'm fully... What do you think we should do? Can't you get this guard to look for Robin as well? They're trying to put out the fires. I think we could probably find our friend. They're trying to put down fires. Well, the fire, sorry. They're trying to put out the fire. No, it's two fires still. They've got the one down to the south of the cold rats area, Moonrock. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. They're trying to put out the fires.
00:49:56
Speaker
I think we can find our friend. Fair enough. I'm going to Castlevar Matergi on myself again. No, I'm not. I'm going to Castlevar Matergi on Drago and say, just say to Folly, put your hands in your ears, shout his name, Drago. Well, not me then. I'll just get, you know, perforate my eardrums. Oh, fucking tube covers her ears as well, darling. Hequistically looks at you and just kind of goes,
00:50:18
Speaker
Robin! And this sign just echoes out over the skyline. Oh, that's powerful stuff. Some of that. Oh, wow. And that. Robin! It's Drago. We'll meet you by... The statue. The statue.
Pursuit of Elphir and Onyx Reaver Quest
00:50:40
Speaker
Thank you, Claude. What have you done to me? How long's it last for? A minute, I think. Hold on, I'll check.
00:50:47
Speaker
A minute. She was just yelling for a minute. Amazing. What have you done to me? It'll stop in a minute, I think. Just maybe don't say anything for a minute. I feel pretty powerful right now. Jesus. You like a magic, do you?
00:51:03
Speaker
No. Almost got you to say you enjoyed the magic. All of a sudden one of the doors opens to decide it's the old lady again. Will you keep it down? Go back in your house. Maybe you should stop speaking. If anyone can hear me right now, everyone stay indoors. Try not to be interested in what's going on outside. It's not safe. More lights come on, more people look out the windows now. Seriously?
00:51:30
Speaker
Put your heads back into your houses! Okay, and that folly is gonna cast the whole person on Drago to get him to shut the hell up. Okay, can you make a wisdom saving throw?
00:51:44
Speaker
I am also going to use Bend Look on that. Is that just because you saw the roll? I'm allowed to see the roll. I've got one. Can I use Bend Look? It's almost been a minute. This is almost done. No, no, I don't care. What did you roll? I rolled a roll so that only takes one off. Cool, so 16. Oh, good. That's fine. I can shut you up for a bit, man. The whole person doesn't shut me up. It does. Mr. Powerhouse.
00:52:11
Speaker
So you can see everything, but you can't do any actions, talk or whatever. Play that out. What's the DC? I've got 17 for my DC. Wow. Very close then, very close. Very, very close, I'm thinking, oh my god. So Drago just becomes perfectly still again, entirely like, oh no, not this again.
00:52:32
Speaker
Okay, Claude, can you tell me when the minute's up, please? Not now. Do I know that you've done this because you've done it before? You knew it then. It probably happened. Good idea. Oh, man. I'm pretty sure I...
00:52:47
Speaker
I'm pretty sure it's been a minute, but you know, you know you shouldn't poke the bear. I don't intend to, but it was drawing more and more attention. We don't really need that much attention on us right now. People are already going to be thinking we burned this building down. We're going to lean over Draugr's paralyzed body. When you wake up, don't draw attention. See I's a fury staring back at you. Why don't we sell this when we're on the road?
00:53:15
Speaker
You see winting eyes staring back at you. I think you're winking. I think he means yes, Folly. I think, maybe Folly just go now and I'll wait with him. I'll get a bit of a move on. Folly, I'm coming to you. Stop walking away. Just until the spell wears off. It only lasts a minute as well. So I can just imagine you in the backpack, kind of take a couple of steps and look back and try and go, take a couple more steps. Yeah, just kind of really... Just quietly shuffling your eyes on you.
00:53:41
Speaker
I would say whilst that was happening, Robin probably wouldn't have paid any attention but another creature that does care about Robin would, a hawk would have come round the building and would have landed on your shoulders for me, assuming that you could best assume... How would you know where we are? What's that? The hawk's independent of me. It's not left the vicinity of the inn. The hawk's now independent of me. So it's just landed on your shoulder. Okay, just do backtrack because I can't quite remember. Did that thing wake me up when we were doing it?
00:54:14
Speaker
Get going, Folly. He's gonna wake up in a moment. I'm going, I'm going, I'm going.
00:54:24
Speaker
It flies off in the direction of the town square and the statue. We gave him the same way. Jolly good. I made a new friend. Oh, I loved it as a new adventure, as a sign of Christ, where just Ollie and his bird. Ollie and Nura. Ollie and Nura's adventuring era. That's a great outfit. So I'm walking towards the statue with just a little bit ahead of Drago, so as much as I possibly can in all fairness. All of a sudden, the tension in your body released and you're suddenly free again. Your voice is back and all. Claude all put his hand out as I sit, helping him out.
00:54:53
Speaker
And I'll take your hand and allow you to pull me out. I'm getting sick and tired of people putting spells on me. You gotta be good if you could learn a way to protect yourself from them, wouldn't it? Not now, Claude. Just don't be you for a moment. I'm trying to deal with some rage. Let Sam... Me too. Let's go get Robin. Get the fuck out of this, please.
00:55:23
Speaker
or so and as he does that he clicks his neck and he cracks his knuckles as if he's trying to rid himself of this burning rage that's kind of starting to build up and him just like there's a lot going on I need to
00:55:42
Speaker
And as we make ourselves around, make our way, sorry, around to the statue in the middle of the town, you see the disheveled figure of Robin slumped up against the statue, sword in one hand, looking
00:55:57
Speaker
Forlorn, to say the least, as he sits there, not really making eye contact with you, as you start to approach it. Sorry, Darren, I'm putting... No, no, no, you've got to describe it. Robin hasn't changed since he's... I assume there's much, as you want to check with him. So you see Robin there, and he's not making any eye contact. As you approach, Folly would approach first, with Nura on your shoulder. As soon as she sees Robin, Nura flies off your shoulder and lands on the statue.
00:56:21
Speaker
doesn't do anything to the statue. It just lands on the statue. It's just the one charged with it. I don't know it's spent. I couldn't try and look but I don't know if I would.
00:56:45
Speaker
So you've seen, you've seen Robin there now. Yeah, I've seen Robin, believing, Folly, believing what he believes is going off and obviously recognizing that Robin seems a little bit short. He's going to just casually walk up and sit next to him in a same kind of slump. Not say anything, just sit next to him and wait for the others to arrive. In a few seconds round the corner you do see Tally, Drago and Claude come out of the corner, these three very strange looking figures.
00:57:15
Speaker
approaching round the corner and noticing Robin and Folly and this bird sat on the statue. Well, Robin and Folly aren't sat, that's out the length of it, and the bird is on the shoulder, let's say, of King Leopold. There's just a leak on the second statue. Robin, there you are. Come on. There's a... Get up. There's a... Why are you sat down? There's a highly-holed down there. I'd suggest we get some rest before we do something. All right, get up then.
00:57:45
Speaker
You okay? I don't think you look well, Robin. I'm fine. I'm not going in the direction of the hidey-hole. It's fine. Why does he go on a go in a hidey-hole? I don't know. Actually, it's a good point. Robin! As you're walking away. I don't think now's the time to go to a hide. We could play hide and seek, but if it was actually inappropriate... We're exhausted and there's questions we need to ask before we leave this city. Well, let's not just hide out. Let's go somewhere else.
00:58:13
Speaker
I've not slept in nearly 24 hours. I'm angry and I'm cranky. I need to get some rest. You're always angry and cranky. I know. Actually, that's more my play. Get your own. Either way, I don't think we should leave the city in this weather at this time of night. Well, let's find somewhere not to hide. I hate that term. Maybe we could just get a tent and then we don't have to set fire to anything else while we're here.
00:58:45
Speaker
Yeah, I know you when you're like this. You've got stuff you want to say. Someone came into the room, took the bag of holding, and I suspect torched the pub. You think it was Elphir? I know it was Elphir. Want to catch you up? Colin also thinks it's Elphir. Folly also thinks it's Elphir. Tally?
00:59:14
Speaker
He would have killed you if we didn't intervene. You are aware of that. You're aware of that? I would have stopped him. He just needed to rage out. Which is why he waited till you were asleep and then burnt your bed from underneath you. So we are... we are definitely saying it's healthier. Well I've put a warrant out for his arrest, Robin. And we'll get some answers when the guards capture him.
00:59:38
Speaker
But to confirm, we are saying it's healthier. We are. With the full knowledge on what this means. I believe the evidence is irrefutable, Drago. I believe... Understand that if we are going down this path, there's nothing that will stop us from killing him. When I came out of the book, I told you about the warning.
01:00:02
Speaker
The warning said that something in this party has betrayed us. I said to Elphir, I said to his face that I would keep the trust and the people around us. He tried to convince me it was you, Jage. Elphir, it was Elphir all along. He did this. We now need to know why he's chosen to do it now. He knows that we know where the Onyx Reaver is. We still have them out.

We have the map, but he is quick and he's advantageous and he is stealthy. But he doesn't know where it is. Does he? Does he? No, we have the map. I mean, he knows that we need to go to Blackmouth and that's the location roughly where we need to go to find the Onyx Reaver. But apart from that, he knows nothing more
01:00:50
Speaker
is he stormed off and went to places in this city. We need to find out what it was he was doing and to what end. I don't know why he's chosen to do this now, but I need to find him. Robin, if this is true and I've got your back, if this is true, this isn't me telling you you're wrong. This is me, weirdly enough,
01:01:21
Speaker
and making sure that we do have all the facts. Cloth wells up a little bit, quietly just wipes his eye at the fact that that was just announced. But... And I... Then we can't leave this city until we've got to the bottom of it. Hear me out. If...
01:01:39
Speaker
it does transpire that this is Elthea that caused all of this and there'll be deeper roots and reasons as to why if it does transpire that it is Elthea I understand what this means same as you and that his time is limited and nothing could stop us from getting to him
01:02:09
Speaker
But I also, and maybe this is coming from spending time with you guys, understand now that there is a greater role to play in this world. And we do have to carry on finding the Onyx Reaver and putting an end to the Blight. If Elthea has gone off on his own quest, as it were,
01:02:34
Speaker
I don't think we can ignore, I don't think we can allow us to ignore the Blight for one man. It's not about ignoring the Blight, Drago. I let this go once before. I'm not saying let it go. I'm saying hold on to it. No, you don't understand. I didn't pursue Bellcracks when I should have. He murdered Shailar's entire family and for all we know
01:03:01
Speaker
brought the Blight to the Sword Coast. I don't know what that thing was that he was running away from just before we kill him. If this thing has got to Elphir, Elphir is more cunning and more dangerous than Bellpracks ever was. We have to stop him. If Bellpracks caused the Blight or was involved in it, you caught up to the Blight. And I think it would be the same now if we still make the Blight our priority.
01:03:31
Speaker
What do you know about Elphir? You've travelled with him for over a year. What do you know about him? I know nothing about him, which frankly terrifies me. I know that we can't put everything on hold for him. We're not putting him on hold. We can't wander out there knowing that he could have information and leverage on us. So are you saying that we don't go for the Onyx Reaver right now? No, I'm saying we go for the Onyx Reaver, but I'm saying we know what we're up against first.
01:03:56
Speaker
So we're agreeing that we just go for the onyx freezer as well. It did sound like you were going to put everything on hold and try and find Alfred. I'm not going to put everything on hold to find Alfred. I want to know why he's betrayed us now and I want to know if any of those places that he went to when he separated from us can give us any information. Robin, you just said to yourself that we've travelled with him for a year and we don't know anything about him. What do you think we're going to find just looking in places we think he might have been? We travelled with the guy for a year. Well we know he went to that magic shop.
01:04:27
Speaker
and we know that he may have gone back to Copic, it all. Those are the only two links we have. All I'm saying is we don't leave the city until we've investigated those two leads. It's a matter of hours. Leaving in the dead of night when we haven't slept for a long time is only going to lead to exhaustion. Well, let's go now. Because everyone's awake, the city's on high alert, now's the time to find this information. If, hear me out, if everything you said is true,
01:05:01
Speaker
We can't afford him to get to the Onyx Reaver before us. I agree. So time is of haste. We can't afford to hide out right now. So I agree with you. And I know you're tired. Let's just carry on for now. And we can rest when we're on the road. But let's make getting the information that you want.
01:05:25
Speaker
priority and then onwards to the Onyx Reaver I genuinely believe and I'm not saying we're done with Elthea but if he is a part of this and he's going to the same heading we will eventually find him and you can have your vengeance that I can see clearly burning in your eyes but let's also remember that we're here for another purpose
01:05:53
Speaker
first, and it's only by traveling with you, and Drago looks at all of you, that I've come to understand that there is a greater plot at play that requires us to help. So stay with us. And I promise you, we will find out there. But we might also be able to save this place.
01:06:21
Speaker
Um, a penny has just dropped. And I'm quite scared. And I think we need to go soon. What, what penny? Well, there are seven people that know that the master is my master. And I told you that I'd lose my head if anyone found out.
01:06:47
Speaker
and I no longer trust Elthir and he knows that I am led by the master. You see a kind of daunting penny drop moment for Thali as well and probably for Folly as well as they realise the extent at which illegal religions are persecuted. They're going to want to kill you. Who's they? Well, Elphir's the only other person that knows if he tells anyone I'm in doo-doo. Why?
01:07:16
Speaker
Because it's illegal to be the Moloth Masters. So who would be after you? Well, there would be vigilance from the religions that are legal. There could be nasty Drowak, hitmen, bastards. I don't know what comes. I'm safe in Sleetguard, but... You're safe with us, Claude. I don't know what comes. We won't let anything happen to you.
01:07:45
Speaker
No illegal religion can get beyond us. You'll be okay. And if it is the case, that is L Fear.
01:07:55
Speaker
Well, I'm pretty sure that Robin's got an arrow for his heart right now. So, just to pause there, you would also be aware of a faction of the Sangwian Order called the Upcriskra. Upcriskra? Upcriskra, which is the religious control and oversight. Yep, Claude's gonna have fun saying this word. Claude would do what we can to protect you, but there's not a lot we can do with that.
01:08:23
Speaker
information right now. What I'm saying is if there's now a clock on my life I think we need to finish the blight quickly now. Agreed and I believe Robin agrees too but he's not
01:08:40
Speaker
where healthy it has been, if it takes maybe a few hours. I would just suggest let's do it now while the city's awake, on alert. If it's all the same, I'd like to hide in your hidey hole now. No, Claude, I think right now we need to stay together. Who can find me? We need to stay together. Okay. We don't know, right now, us.
01:09:03
Speaker
to each of us are the only ones that know anything about what's going on so we need to practice caution we need to be careful but most of all
01:09:22
Speaker
We will find Elthea, Robin, and you can have your revenge. Claude, we will end the Blight. But we need to trust in each other here and now. We know where the road is going.
Kelsan's Shop Destruction
01:09:33
Speaker
And I am in. Are. You. Robin nods. I'm in. I'm with you, Drago. Tali quietly nods. Her eyes then daft off to the side. The dog moves off to the side behind your back, Drago.
01:09:52
Speaker
And she says, Robin, if we're going to retrace our steps on where Elthea would have gone, he definitely went in there. And she points. And as you follow where she's pointing, you see the remains of Kalsan's Cartographic Wonders, which is a burning wreckage on the ground. And as you slowly take that information in, as the rain continues to fall down,
01:10:38
Speaker
That was hilarious! You're the circumstantial, I had no idea. I didn't know it was a good clip. Oh, Robin, you had such a good episode. That was brilliant. That was brilliant. Wow. I was petrified that you would have ended up back at Juffin's house. Could you imagine? Oh, God. Could you imagine? No, he was just in. Robin was just like, huh? New character? Yeah, that's him.

What was great was you said, because I thought it was like a barrel or something, you said it was probably the statue, and I was like, okay, Dan needs to end his week.
