This building from fire
Meet the Characters of 'The Fellowship of the Tabletop'
00:00:30
Speaker
and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set in the magical home-brewed world of Aerith. My name is Mark, and I am your dungeon master. And also with us for today's episode, we have Callum, who plays the gnome sorcerer, fully fizzle back the ninth. Hello, hello! Will, who plays the wood elf monk, Elfia? I'm...
00:00:53
Speaker
Broogie and sour and burp. What are you gonna say then? I do. Yeah, I know, sorry. We've got Danny who plays the human cleric, Claude. Hi, I think Will just had gas.
00:01:04
Speaker
We've got Darren, who plays the human fighter rogue Robin. This building's on fire! That was a harm in it. He's been thinking about that line all week.
Chaos Ignites: Kelsan's Fiery Decision
00:01:15
Speaker
And we have Ian, who plays the dragonborn barbarian Drago. What up? I'd also like to note that they're normally going in the opposite order. And Ian's face of disapproval. Shock! I don't mind change. Don't mind change. But Callum's surprise face as well was pretty good. It was great. I don't mind being lost.
00:01:31
Speaker
I like being last. I've got a horrible cramp in my foot right now. It is literally, I'm stretching it out. I hope you've all had a good week anyway. All of you guys and everyone listening at home as well. Anyway, to take you out of your daily news grind, how about some DMD? On last week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop, we came across rather a moral dilemma. Kelsan led the party
00:01:53
Speaker
through the streets of Evershire, through the fog garden district, and they came across the shop of the man or person they wanted in his words to shit up. Upon entering, the group finally reunited with Elphir, saw not only a man that it did to the group, who was just sitting there eating chicken and watching the whole event take place, but also this large ogre.
00:02:16
Speaker
who stood up and had some real beef with Kelsan. Kelsan, who was intending to stay outside the shop, got dragged into the shop by Drago, and within the shop they had a back and forth clawed cast zone of truth to get some truth out of it. Kelsan was telling the truth but actually put himself in the wrong, but actually at the same time Erebor was in the wrong, was Erebor? That's a mountain. Eredor. Eredor, close enough, it's so different.
00:02:40
Speaker
Eredor was also in the wrong and wanted basically to kill Kelsan, that was the only way to satisfy him. Eventually, it almost did come to blows, Kelsan left off sunlight within doors, tried to break around, Claude punched this ogre in the eye, backed off, Drago punched him a few times in the face, the ogre then wanted to punch Kelsan back, but people were aware that actually he was looking a bit messed up and might actually die from the damage. Elthir made the point here of the kind of double standards of the party, not letting him kill him, but at the same time,
00:03:10
Speaker
knowing that this ogre would probably kill Kelsan if we allowed the situation to play out. The party left with things up in the air and just as the episode ended, Kelsan, who was hooked up onto Drago's shoulder, much alike as we thought of Shrek holding Princess Fiona in Shrek 1 and I think 2 possibly.
00:03:30
Speaker
He managed to lob out of his pack what he seems to have had pre-made this kind of Molotov cocktail-like petrol bomb which lights off just the outside of the building in fire. Only one air in the building seems to be a light. He jumped down at the shoulder, giggled a little bit to himself, and shouted to the group, run!
Aftermath and Moral Debates
00:03:47
Speaker
Run, you mad fuckers! That's what he'd pick up.
00:03:51
Speaker
And how quickly is this fire taking to the building? It's very good question. It's on the outside of the building. There isn't much in terms of timber on the outside as it seems to be masonry and kind of this laid upon mud which has been stained a white colour similar to most of the other buildings. So it's mainly the materials he's
00:04:12
Speaker
put in this bottle jar which you're on fire at the moment the actual building itself does not seem to be a light that you're all kind of still looking up at the building looking at Kelsander he's trying to convince you to leave. Folly can you grab him? What? Me I've what I've fucking done now I just let's go you wanted to go I want to go do you not want to go? Make a wisdom saving throw for me.
00:04:34
Speaker
He rolls a 14. Okay, you are paralyzed. And Kelsan is literally majestic. Stuck perfectly still. Claude, do you wanna go and get... My new friend! Yes! Go on. And I run into the building. As...
00:04:50
Speaker
Claude runs into building. Folly is also just going to use control flames cantrip and just start extinguishing these fires. You can do it in like areas of five feet multiple times, up to three. So yeah, just quickly. And most of the flames are extinguished as Claude, you run into the building, you see this
00:05:14
Speaker
creature still there looking rather perplexed human you have come back in what what was that noise something has happened and the building is on fire you need to get out and bring the chicken kill son come Grinnoth come and chicken man kind of picks up a large barrel that seems to be next which holds very close to his chest I sort of position myself between the two just as if there's a sign that they're gonna be okay slowed down I can help I sure know
00:05:44
Speaker
ice weapon to extinguish the rest of the flames okay thank you very much and the rest of the flames all right as this breath hits across the flames are put out kelson is still perfectly still at this point as erudor and his friend come out bucket a large bucket of chicken like a wooden
00:06:04
Speaker
A barrel of chicken, let's say, and he's out with him. He's very, very skinny, you know, he's still not wearing a shirt. Very, very skinny, but he's got through quite a few of these chickens and he's... Well,
Tense Encounters and Strategic Escapes
00:06:12
Speaker
before that fails, we can become firemen. This was the work of Kelsan, was it not? Yes, it was. He threw some sort of fire bomb at your building. Yes. Look at him here, he's paralyzed. Good. Maybe I can kill him now.
00:06:34
Speaker
You don't need him. Yeah, you can't just kill the guy. So he attacked me in my home, lights my house. You can do what you want with him afterwards, but right now we need him. You can't do what you want with him.
00:06:49
Speaker
I'm inclined, actually, for once, Elphir, to agree with Drago. This man has letters on a merry dance, has lied to us, and has a just attempt to murder everyone. I'm inclined to agree with Drago. What happens to this man is on his doing not us. He is doing a lot of this on himself, Elphir. Either way, we need him. The... We have just saved you. The ogre kind of gestures to you. I will...
00:07:18
Speaker
Keep my distance for now. Thanks to your human friend here. And he gestures over to Claude, who's helping healing. Do what you will, motherfucker. Can he hear me? He says to the group, not knowing who he's really enjoying. I believe that. Yes, yes, he can hear everything you say. Good. He walks directly after him, towering over his still gestured self, still perfectly still. He gets close to his eyes. Stay out.
00:07:48
Speaker
and then turns with a nod to the group, looks up at the house and then walks slumps back inside to his
00:08:03
Speaker
arms are kind of flayed out wide almost like he's on like some kind of cross and he's just there his arm is still up as you put him over your shoulder. What was smoke coming off the fire? There was a substantial amount of smoke to begin with like a big bellowing black wall and then it quickly died away. I was going to say before he went back on Drago's shoulders what I was going to do was I was going to just say to him
00:08:25
Speaker
that thing that we would need to find this map. I assume it's on your person, and I'm gonna pat him down and see if I can find the key or device, anything on him that would maybe be what we need to act on. Why didn't we think of that sooner? That's a great idea. Just dawn on me now. Give us an investigation role. While he's doing that, I'd like to look around. Has this sunburst of fire and smoke brought any attentions of any cold rats or anything like that? They're gonna give me a perception check, please, Will. 26.
00:08:56
Speaker
Upon searching upon this person, you come across a mix of items. Firstly, you come across a solid fist sized piece of metal that just looks unused. It seems to be some kind of silver colour, but it seems a dirty silver. You also come across a selection of four rotten carrots. I pull them out and I go, really?
00:09:17
Speaker
and I look at him with disgust and just throw it into one's eyes. You find a collection of a coin purse that holds six copper pieces. You also find a flask that seems to have a slightly reddish liquid within it. 18 by the way. Thank you. I take the lid off the flask and I sniff the liquid. Smells like a form of fermented wine. I put the lid back on and go, dear God, man, you have terrible taste when I put it back in his pocket. And that's all that he's got on his person.
00:09:48
Speaker
Anything. Nothing of value. Up you go. Maybe Folie would like the metal. Ah, Folie, do you want some random piece of silver metal? Yes, of course. If I give it to Folie, I point at his face and go, that's for being a very bad boy.
00:10:03
Speaker
to a folly on Saturday. No, to Kelstan, and he's throwing back on Friday's door. I was like, what's folly done, Paul? Brilliant, lovely. So Kelstan's now back up on Drago's shoulder. Indeed. What have you done? So Tom, my 18, has this burst of flame of smoke drawn attention of people in surroundings and also other cold rats, like that kind of thing? You notice, you remember, all remember the route you need to get back. It was relatively straightforward.
00:10:32
Speaker
You're in a bit of a crossroads where there seems to be two or three major roads. You came out of one of these, along these major roads. All three of these major roads now, you start to notice people kind of appearing out of doorways, out of areas, and a number of them, you notice as they start to walk down. This is, we're about evening at this point as well. The sun is about to set. Have that sigil of the cold wrapped upon them. A couple of them look at the building and start to draw out swords. I think we've
00:11:02
Speaker
Grawny ire of the locals gentlemen. That's okay. They would have seen folly and me put the flames out I'm not sure they also saw us throwing stuff on it. They also saw Eredor come out and nod to us and go back in I don't think they were there then. A few more shin of pull that swords as this is happening
00:11:25
Speaker
happening, I very quickly think to myself for the first time, what can I do to help this? And as I move between Drago and Kelton, I will discreetly cast a sky sail for myself as my armour starts to look like armour off the hailstorm academy. Just very subtly start to incorporate their logos onto my armour. And I just come into the courtyard with my hand on my sword and I say, hailstorm business, leave it with us, back to your rooms.
00:11:55
Speaker
you hear a voice from distant, one of the, have you said this to one of the, one of the streets that seem too busy before? I've just come out into the hallway, so I've literally just done a step forward into the alleyway, the house storm sigils on out, and look like a city guard effectively. You see four or five people simply in
Divine Attempts and Fiery Defenses
00:12:11
Speaker
this, in this area, and they all stop moving for a second, then you hear one of them just go, fuck you!
00:12:18
Speaker
and shing, another sword comes out, another person comes out. You notice now that three major streets are now, there's five or six, seven or eight people in these corridor, in these major streetways basically blocking you from there. You do notice though, there is one alleyway, the alleyway you came through that you would be able to retreat through that doesn't seem to have anyone there. Perhaps we should be to haste your retreat. Let's not make this turn out like Neverwinter did.
00:12:43
Speaker
I'm starting now to go back to a brain without fear. Everybody ran. And just as you say that, Eredor steps out of his doorway and looks at you and just shakes his head. You've taken too long and you've drawn the eye out of my rats. They want blood.
00:13:08
Speaker
and not one to stand in their way. And the men are going to slowly start to close in on you. What would you like to do? Okay, a quick perception for Jago. How many? In front, behind, left and right. You've got this monolithic ogre and his chicken eating friend, which you can't see actually at the moment, coming from pretty much behind you. To your left, you've got roughly between
00:13:34
Speaker
eight and nine members of the cold rats. Humans? Humans and a couple of half orcs. Okay, in front of you, you've got 15 to 16, the largest contingent in front of you. Again, a combination of races and creeds. And off to the right, you have about 13 or 14 off there. All in all, there's a rather large number with, as I said, a very clear alleyway that seems to have been unused as well. Okay, do I have a taste of the group?
00:14:02
Speaker
of our fears through the alleyway. Folly, can you wall a fire? Just give me one second. Yeah, I was actually going to do it anyway but in a different kind of way. I'm going to cast Wall of Fire to basically
00:14:17
Speaker
encates all of us because I actually make it a little bit like a square. But the directional for damage I'm going to have pushing out away from us. Are we not going to set these buildings on? Is there a risk of the building setting on fire, Folly? There's a risk of us dying. So then continue to step in. What would you like to do?
00:14:41
Speaker
Have you already casted it? I've not casted it yet, I wasn't going to do it that way. Sorry, I thought I was going to say, as you casted it, I thought it would be like, hang on a minute, we're not about to... I've drawn my boat and I'm getting ready to start shooting. OK, I would like to try the Level 10 Cleric feature yet to be attempted, the Divine Intervention. Where if I roll a percentile dice and it's below 10,
00:15:05
Speaker
My deity intervenes in a particular thing that I need. Okay, so I'm requesting like a Mass invisibility spell so something like that to make us disappear, but I need to roll below a ten or below on the dm. Okay. Good luck
00:15:22
Speaker
Your god save! So do you want to just describe what you do in that divine intervention? Yeah so when everyone else is going to their weapons I would go to my amulet and just speak in infernal very quietly into it. Eyes typically go white again and just say it's almost like a prayer of hope and you know sometimes they fall on deaf ears and then yeah
00:15:46
Speaker
Everyone's going to their weapons. I'm going to my nice symbol. And as the rain starts to pitter patter down across the streets of Ebershire and you call out to McKeever to ask. Very cool. It would have been a whisper because it's not something that can be publicly known. Apologies, you...
00:16:03
Speaker
Whisper internally almost to your soul. Speak to Akiva in a way to ask for some kind of help for the retribution of these people. You feel, again, that sense of dread and you remember, you make the connection that this is a time where you are on your own. That this is almost a test that Akiva wants you to work out yourself. What would you like to do, Folly?
00:16:27
Speaker
Just give me a second, I'm just reading up on it a little bit. So Robin, you've got your bow ready at hand. Drago, you're ready to make a run for an elf here. How? I mean, are they going to be picking up speed? Are we about to get surged by a mob?
00:16:43
Speaker
They are not running towards you because they are almost like coyotes wanting to make sure they all get you together at the same time. No one wants to be the first to attack because they're aware of your strength. And we've got a way out. There's three being a thing, like the house is there and we've got a way out. Yes, correct. The one you're going through is a thinner alleyway. The other three are major roadways.
00:17:03
Speaker
This one is a small alleyway. Is that the way we came or not? That's the way you came. I would, yeah. Finally, now is the time if you're going to do that wonderful firetruck thing. Just a water fire once we get through the alleyway. Just that one entrance. And just out of curiosity, all the surrounding stuff, is it all stone or is it a little bit of timber there as well? There is timber there. There's a couple of trees. There's a car on the side of the road. A building across the side is made primarily of wood.
Escape and City Chaos
00:17:44
Speaker
Yeah, you know just you know
00:18:07
Speaker
Working in that shop, Juneoy manages to make his way through life, becoming the manager of that shop, running it well and productively through the years, making a good income for him and his family, in terms of he finally manages to buy a home, a home that sits on the corner opposite that of Eridor, made primarily of wood. What would you like to do, Folly? It's also worth noting that June or senior is only one day away from retirement.
00:18:33
Speaker
Oh my god, I'm gonna end up killing them all. Can you just light this place up? Robin would say it's either you're going to spill some timber or we're going to have to spill some blood. He's always thinking so much, let's run! Okay, yeah, Folly is gonna go for it, he's gonna reach into his little satchel that he's got to sprinkle some phosphorus in a big circle in front of him and then create a...
00:18:56
Speaker
wall of fire just to block off. No, does it have to be the maximum distance? Is it a fixed shape? Does it have to be your 60 foot? Or can you control it? Well, it says up to me. Yes. So I can, I have a decent bit of control over it. I'm basically going to, where we've got the alleyway, I'm just going to block it off with this 20 foot high wall of fire. I'm sure things are going to settle. Straight up, hopefully nothing will burn.
00:19:23
Speaker
And obviously, the damage is going to come from where they are coming instead. Nicely done, Folly. Lovely. So as you back up into the alley, they start to move in closer and closer to you now, realizing suddenly where you're about to run into, they start to break out into a sprint trying to head towards you. As the last of you come through the alleyway and you turn and fly the phosphorus up, causing a very similar, iconic glow of licks of flame sticking out facing in the opposite direction, you see one of them
00:19:56
Speaker
Realize and hold back and they go take the next alleyway and move away. What do you have to do? Go home. What do you have to do? Let's run, but I assume Folly's moving the slowest. No, Folly's real fast. Folly's real fast. Okay. Little legs but quicker. Right, in that case that's... Fat, heavy clawed. Yeah, it's fat, heavy clawed we don't worry about. Okay, later we just book it. Is Kelso at this point
00:20:21
Speaker
The chaos is only paralyzed at this point because it only lasts for about a minute. This has obviously been going on for longer than a minute. And as, let's say, well that's probably all taken about a minute, and as you've got off a new shot and you've just passed through this wall of flame, his body becomes limped again. Oh fuck me! Run! Run you bad fuckers! Run! And he stays on your shot this time, going to turn himself over to see where you're going. As the two buildings which you are running between erupt into flame,
00:20:50
Speaker
you start speeding down the narrow streets of the fog garden district. You dart in and out of buildings, behind barrels, over carts, through these muddied alleyways and these back streets.
Map Quest in Kelsan's Shop
00:21:02
Speaker
You turn a corner, a long, narrow walkway between two buildings, stretches out before you, only bits of shaft of light now from the now setting sun seem to cast shadows over. In case you're wondering out there, there are shadows.
00:21:15
Speaker
shadows over this long alleyway. At the far end stands twenty to thirty women, men, half-orks, kithyunkies, dwarves, gnomes, all donning a similar dark grey sash around their waist. Councilman takes a breath. It's the fold. What the fuck are we gonna do? Are they not friends of yours either? I mean, they hate the cold rats more than they hate me.
00:21:44
Speaker
Can you see a couple of them rich diamonds? Where are you going? Hang on, are these guys still wearing their cold rat symbols? They're when I started doing the can trips for court distinguished players. They would have gone. Just checking. They would have gone. And if you've got your hailstorms, search armour on, your fake armour on Robin. Well, that's an hour, doesn't it? Not done anything to dismiss it, so... Just wondering, so you know what they're looking at with their pair of silk art.
00:22:13
Speaker
soldiers for all intents and purposes, a member of Evershire and four other unknown people as Tide brings up the rear. Oh fuck. Oh fuck. It's okay. We've set alight to a load of the cold rat's buildings. Can you roll a... Persuasion? Persuasion. Guidance. Ooooh. Claude's given you guidance. Good, I needed it. Ten plus modify.
00:22:43
Speaker
Well, one dwarf steps out in front of the others with this grey sash round his waist. Bollocks! Okay. I put, erm, what's his face down? I withdraw my sword. And behind you, you hear the movement coming, and at the other end of the alleyway now, you see those cold rats who have got you. They're fucking all...
00:23:12
Speaker
Down the other end those are the cold rats. They want us dead. Oh What more evidence do you need we need to get through you? What are you gonna? Do how do we know you're not gonna try and fuck us up when we let you through? It's either you fight a horde behind us
00:23:33
Speaker
Okay, give me another persuasion draw, go. That's really good, I love that. Can I give him, I'm gonna give him a bend look as well, so he roll an additional d4 and add to it. Are you doing all that help I can get? Apparently. Yeah, I'm using, spending just as much points to do that. That's my three points to do that. 23 before my five. 25. 25, okay. The dwarf looks at you and looks at your shoulder. Enidore! You've been round these parts way too long.
00:24:01
Speaker
Time to meet your fucking end. Dragonborn, thanks for bringing them. Get the fuck out of here. And a few of them step to the side as you drag Kelso back on my shoulder. And you just feel them all kind of passing by. You get a couple of nods and almost like, thanks. As you pass by and you realize now it's not 20 or 30, it's 40, 50, 60 as you pass down the top. It's going to leave your list. It's never shy. If you just hear this dwarf shout,
00:24:31
Speaker
And he just sprints up down here from the other end. This combat in this really tight corner starts to take place. It's just an absolute scrum, a melee. You just see arms and legs flying, swords flashing, armour piling on each other and the people behind just like pushing forward to try and get close to the action, trying to get a piece of the other until finally you get to the very back and you can see the last few, the ones who aren't so into it perhaps with their sash on
00:25:04
Speaker
One of them realises, go son, you've been getting in trouble again? Who the fuck are you? Who the fuck are you? You stupid bastard! Fuck off, fuck off! And he wanders off dying. Is Drago still carrying him? Yes.
00:25:22
Speaker
So perhaps he's just let, um, let Kel-san walk on his own now. I again once more disagree with that outfit. He's done nothing to Warren, I'll trust he's been nothing. I don't think we don't trust him, but... Oh no, I'm keeping hold of him. Come on. Oh, alright, fine. I'm worried about Eredor now. I would be. He did want us dead, Claude, you did all you could.
00:25:48
Speaker
Now he's probably going to get stabbed by the folders. Yes, that's a lot of people who's got to get stabbed. And we've burned down those buildings back there, I mean. Claude, if we don't get to the blight in good time, I'm willing to bet everyone here is going to die. I mean, there is a greater purpose. I mean, when you say good time, remember the blight's been going on for a long time now, so it's not like you're suddenly going to get, like, end tomorrow and the world's going to end. I mean, you have been going on for a while now. And you're an expert, so you will. No, I'm just saying what...
00:26:18
Speaker
Let's just get the map, I think. Were you about to say that I'm an expert? Yes. Well, you're the most expert person amongst us. Thank you.
00:26:29
Speaker
Right, and we continue to walk through the now solid rain. Through the solid, solid rain that seems to fall down. Kelso every now and then as you forget your way goes, don't, left, left, left, yep, that's your way, yep. He seems to have kind of resided himself to this fact now that every way you try to squirm, you have an answer for. And in a foot, you, not you, Eredor, and if not Eredor, the folds, and every way he tries to riggle, you've got a firm grasp on him, metaphorically and physically.
Humor and Maps: Planning the Journey
00:26:57
Speaker
Folly, how you doing?
00:26:59
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, it's fine. Little chicken, I think. Thanks for all you did back there. It was necessary. Was the orphanage necessary? It built that house for years, you know? The dragon's gate, Phil. It means to an end, I'm afraid, there, Claude. Well, it means to an end.
00:27:22
Speaker
I'm afraid we won't be able to afford Christmas this year. Tell the truth. You're not helping me with this. I feel guilty. If you give just two gold a month, the children of Evershire can recover from this devastating blaze. We're set up to go fucking now. We're completely at random. During the raid, this good Bianchi child won't see next Christmas. But with your help,
00:27:48
Speaker
You could have one more healing potion. Remember, a fire, a moment of wall of fire hurts everybody's lives. And after all, listeners, thank God it's them instead of you. I'm trying to think of the other one about the fire. Was it the advert? No, no, no. So did this go as you expected, Kelso? You know what? It went fucking much better than expected. Good. Then we can assume that you're going to uphold your end of the bargain. Oh, yeah. You can, you can...
00:28:19
Speaker
You better have this man. I have a feeling actually out of the more human Robin, it was Robin wasn't it? No but go on. You scare me the most I think out of them or even the dragon one. Really? Yeah there's something in your eye that makes
00:28:44
Speaker
He should scare you the most. Yeah. That's what someone who would scare me the most would say, though. Best make sure we get this map, haven't you? Yep. Yep. I like that map. Yep. Let's go get that map, shall we? How far are we from your store? Just round the corner from your store. You see my store? Come on.
00:29:05
Speaker
Come on, I forgot the name of the guy who's the, uh, actor. I played James Bond. You're probably harder. Oh, no, I'm not gonna lead you. We'll say it. I can't say it and then we'll get laughed in it, mate. My bookcase fell on my head today. I can only blame my shelf.
00:29:30
Speaker
As the rain continues to fall down, you turn the final corner and you see the somewhat relieved sign of Kelsan's cartographic wonders. He gestures to you, Drago. Can you put me down now, please? I'm back at my house now. Glad we put you down. Throw him down, kind of impatiently now. He falls on his butt in the mud a little bit. Oh, for fuck's sake! Can we get on with this, Kelsan? You've already taken enough of our time.
00:29:59
Speaker
Don't keep an eye on him. He opens the door to the shop and as you step in again, he's going to douse himself off and it's nice and warm in there with a few candles now lit in the darkness of his shop. Who lit the candles, Kelsey? I did. You're magical. Come on in. And he shuts the door behind you and it's quite warm in there. And again, you all seem to notice his glow from him. Now, would we like a drink? The map. Of course, right. A drink would be good. What would you like to have? Wine.
00:30:29
Speaker
get some wine absolutely it's over there on the look i'll help myself yeah i would recommend um do you have any milk no i've got no milk i'm fine then that's okay that's an aside to follow and just follow
00:30:49
Speaker
And Kelsan continues to walk down, sheepishly, down the shop. Folly is literally following him, really behind him, with his quartz staff, literally to keep poking him out. As he walks down, telling him to move, move, move, move. Ow! Ow! Do you have to poke me like that, little one? Ow! I can whack you if you prefer! No! And then he whacks him round the back of the leg as well. Ow! Fucking ow! The map, Kelsus! The map! Yeah, I'm getting it! I'm getting it! Jesus Christ!
00:31:14
Speaker
Christ, you're all... Who's Jesus Christ? I keep that. I don't know. Right, I'm getting you the map. I'm doing what you said. You're just being a...
00:31:26
Speaker
Now don't blow us up with yourself though. Can't promise that, okay. Right, he gets to the end of the shop right at the very, very far end. You've passed also the red leather chair that he flocked himself down in an episode two weeks ago and he's right at the very, very back. The shop seemed to go on for a very long way actually with a couple of dusted windows along the way which seemed to be filled with scripts and scrolls and books
00:31:50
Speaker
and bits and pieces, piles up of paper everywhere you turn and dust filling the air, but everywhere you go a single candle along the side, well lots of single candles along the side, gives the area a nice kind of arcane feel to the space. Feels safe, feels warm and as he gets to the far end the bookcase straightens out and it is filled to the brim with scrolls and he stands and looks up at them for a second.
00:32:17
Speaker
And you will follow Danery at the end of the show. Elphin's got a wine glass, he's following. I followed following you. I am literally right behind him now. You're trying to follow her, isn't it? Yes. She's in the middle of this just battle. She's changing. She's finally found her calling. She's suddenly become the leader of the following. Executing the last captain. Imagine like Meredith and brave.
00:32:47
Speaker
She's re-added the climate, we've formed a mega army out of them ready to take on the battle to Bleakmont. I'm your leader now. We should totally have done that. Look at me, look at me, look at me, I'm the leader now. You're my bitch, no, you're my bitch. Unfortunately, she stood next to Elph there looking up. Can I have some wine? Okay, now Elph there. Have the bottle and the glass, do you want the bottle or the glass? Just the glass will be there.
00:33:17
Speaker
It's got a very good bouquet. It's got a good nose to it. I took my values to see it. I don't know what that means. No, no. It's just wine. Just wine. And we go back to the group and Kelsan still stood their hands on hips kind of looking up and then looking over his shoulder. Game board
Confronting Kelsan and Travel Plans
00:33:32
Speaker
now, Kelsan. Yeah, it's just, I had an order for where, how a lady went out, you see, and I need to remember which one it was without setting off the, you know, the fireball. Do you need a nudge of your memory? No. Holly, give his memory a nudge.
00:33:48
Speaker
I'm really trying to get in deep now. I'm not sure that won't work. One more time. She'll zoom again. The map. Yeah, I know I'm getting it. Torture as well.
00:34:00
Speaker
Oh, right. Luckily, this isn't something that needs a deft hand or can get poked by a little fucking short bastard. It would be a room. Ow! New shit's right. And he looks down and really quickly and nimbly his hands move and pulls out specific parts of specific scrolls about half an inch of each one. Paws out about eight or nine of them and pauses for a second and they all move back in.
00:34:51
Speaker
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
00:34:59
Speaker
He lets out a breath and pulls the rest of the scroll out. And a nuclear bomb. And all, tick, tick, tick, tick. New character speed, guys. I love doing that. I loved it. He pulls out a scroll, which, Danny, could you just look behind you? There should be a scroll, obviously. Oh, no way! And he hands to you a script of the realm of Aerith.
00:35:23
Speaker
I've had this map of fucking ages. I wish you could have just got it earlier. There it is. The 12 kingdoms of the realm of Eryth. As so dutifully and diligently transcribed by the most reverend of our order. So Atwick Lecraine, second of his name, who with the aid of our most trusted scholars have noted down to a... Ah, bring it closer, I want to read the rest of it. I forgot my road, it was really clever. Down to a...
00:35:50
Speaker
The geographic and cartographic necessities of this first map of the realm, as made correct as the time of creation, which has to be noted as the 41st year of the realm, under such orders of his greatness, rough hawk splitter, leader of the realm, protector of the Sangri lands, and father to us all, in his word we trust and obey.
00:36:09
Speaker
changes or additions are to be passed to those of the Sanguine Order by person and only must necessitate a strong and pertinent case for change or omission. It's written across the top of the map with a large, large map where Sleepguard is on the far eastern coast with a number of realms across this large map, the large body of water in the centre. And that is where you are, yeah, right on the very far... Give yourself inspiration for the speech, my love.
00:36:40
Speaker
Watch me, I've just got a map as well. Absolutely. Thanks that I can never use anything. I want to get about three. It's eight, three and a half. That's why I wanted to get it printed properly printed, but it doesn't, it's an awkward size when I got it made. It's a, there you go. That's amazing. That's a full map of everything. It made a file. Yeah, I've seen a file, yeah. That's amazing. Can I have it cut up in wood? More paper. Really? Can you do that?
00:37:06
Speaker
And put it on the board or something. Oh my god. Hold on, I took time to cut all the boarders out, but it's sticking together. Finish it up, I'll sort it out.
00:37:14
Speaker
That's awesome, but there you go. That is your map now. That is your map to use as a way. You are currently at Evershire, which Will is pointing to at the moment. That of one place. You were interested. Let's imagine that you... You hand-see this map, and instantly you out-roll it, and there's a table nearby. You clear some space, and you can have a look at this map. And you do notice, top-left corner, you see the Ozran Islands, where you would have started originally. Down south from out the Basingwind Swamp, where, unfortunately, you lost Shader. To the east of that, you see Clay Peak following along to Bleakmore.
00:37:43
Speaker
down to Ebershire, that is the route so far through the realm you have taken in the short amount of time you as a party have spent here. You can see Moonrise, which one or two of you mentioned? Drollack where the quote unquote nasties live. And you can see there the size of the Emberscarbe life and how much of Sleepguard it's really ever taken. That whole western section of it and also the renamed now Dead Forest and a number of what seem like
00:38:12
Speaker
holdouts with him there as well. And you also notice on the far right the Spirit Mon redoubt. So next to the Emberscar Blight, which as I think you've heard is the holdouts of this League Guard surge, the Hailstorm surge led by some of the leaders, one of which Claude is rather fond of.
00:38:33
Speaker
You have a copy of this map for your reference whenever you want to. You might stick it on a wall or something for use later on. Thank you very much. I will put it up on the Twitter page as well to coincide with this episode.
00:38:50
Speaker
Take your time. Sorry, Dragon, we're just going to follow the map. Okay. Matt, I mean, you're a cartographer. I am a cartographer. You've got to follow Matt. Me and Kelsoin are one and the same. I mean, I wouldn't go that far. I will kill you. You received this map from Kelsoin and now a rather sheepish, bloody Kelsoin looks up at you. Right, you got it now, then? One more thing. Oh, fucking hell. Point to us where the Onyx Reaver is on this. Ooh.
00:39:24
Speaker
What you did say, hold on, Drago. Grab it out, I'll just pass it. I'll go on the easy side. As you bring the map out, he unravels it to sleep guard and he points now the last place I heard of where it was.
00:39:49
Speaker
of sleep guard, below where he actually says sleep guard, in a mountainous range. Oh good, not that far then. And this holy text you were talking about, any idea where that would be? Jesus, I mean it depends. Who's Jesus? You keep talking about him. I mean a kiva, it depends really, it depends what kind of book, it depends what kind of religious text you can come across. These are supposed to be, or so far I've heard, some of the most reverend revered first
00:40:19
Speaker
First order of the books, really. You've got a fine one that's literally been written by a prophet of some description by any of those major gods, really. Alito, Teriani, if you've ever raised that. Fair enough. Do you know any of them? I mean, not personally. Do you know where they are at any of these? No, sorry. Do you know someone who might? I mean... I mean, the last place I say might be in gold view.
00:40:43
Speaker
and he moves to the map again. I forget you don't know your way here. The arm wraps it and Goldview is right next to the bronze storm sea and the most southern part of Sleek God. It's the capital, you see massive metropolis sitting. The royals live there. If anyone's going to have a sacred text, it's probably going to be them speak to one of the Sleek God family members. Good luck. Having looked at the map when it was all so out, Elthead turns to Robin and goes,
00:41:08
Speaker
Moonrise? Didn't you say we had to go to Moonrise or something, Robin? You said Moonrise is important. Right. I understand that at some point we need to get to Moonrise. Okay. If the visions of life are correct. However... Do you think we need to go there before we need to go to Blackmouth? Oh, it's on the way, it looks...ish. I would suggest, uh, the underscore blight. Sorry, wait, to Moonrise? No, no, I think it's on the way-ish. Yeah, I mean, it's a different continent, so to speak, really.
00:41:40
Speaker
No, it's okay, you can't read maps. Let me explain now. It's like Wales in America in the same direction. Yeah, they are, exactly. Wales on the way to America, fuck you. I'm not on it. It appears we have a heading, guys. Blackmouth. Unless anyone has any other. Maybe we should go, yeah, or we can plan a place to stay here first or we can leave now. I mean, this town is about to riot, perhaps.
00:42:08
Speaker
here in my shop, no one's gonna... No, thank you. I'm okay to leave now. Okay, fine. I think a lot of people are after you, Kelso. I mean, it's a shame, because I would like to have checked out that rather wonderful magic shop and fit to be swimming around. I mean, yeah, can we go, can we go swim? Yeah, if you have a place to go, now's the time. Well, that magic shop that was going up and down and round, I've never seen that before. We couldn't have been. It's open pretty much all the time.
00:42:34
Speaker
It doesn't shut the guy. I saw it on the way to catch up with you. They're playing some general goods. That was wonderful. Let's go there. Let's go there and leave. Grab your pound. Am I coming with you? We're in the gang? You're definitely staying here. Yeah, I'm staying here. His advice. Should the cold rat survive, maybe you want to leave town. He's not wrong. Yeah, it doesn't sound like a bad idea actually. I think that's...
00:42:59
Speaker
I think Kelsan's cast of graphic wonders might have served its purpose. I
Supply Run and Drago's Past
00:43:04
Speaker
mean, it's not like they're going to struggle to find somewhere to go, right? You have a map. You had a map, this is ours. I see what you did. I've got many maps, don't worry, there's only one of them. But I see what you've done there. You said about maps and I do maps, that's a very good point. I have another map though, don't worry, I'm going to wear a round here. I could whip this up and maybe head over somewhere. Kelsan? Can you leave Sleepguard, please?
00:43:29
Speaker
The whole sleep guard? Yeah. Yeah, okay. I mean, why? You've been in trouble. Can you roll through a call, really? Persuasion or intimidation, which would you prefer? Kelso, and I really mean it. I'm going to put my hand into my backpack. Oh, fuck. Pull out a very dusty executioner's mask. Roll it over my head.
00:43:59
Speaker
from Batman Begins. I'm thinking about Thelonious. How'd this happen? It's literally my lightest drift to Drago. He has to say, what the fuck is this? My eyes meet yours with equal surprise. I haven't done an intimidation check yet in this game. 22. His whole body seems to shake and shudder. Oh my god.
00:44:24
Speaker
So, Coldheart, I didn't realise quite, it was, I've only ever seen you with the mask on, you see. We all thought you were dead. You were Lee's sleep guy. Yeah, yeah, okay, it's fine. Yeah, I'll be gone in the morning. Sorry. If I didn't know, you never would have, you know, I just would have given you a map, you know. Really?
00:44:53
Speaker
Well, yeah, it's a cold part, like, he's like the notorious killer of... Royal executioner of King Watts's face. Yep. And, uh, he, uh, he scares this... Get packing. Oh, yeah. And he starts turning and stuff, literally just pulling scrolls out and starts kind of piling them up into areas. This shop.
00:45:21
Speaker
on that later, Claude. Yeah, this is something we need to pick up later. Sir Cold Heart. I literally introduced him as that every time you've asked. I've even responded to him. Really? I've never heard of Claude. It was Sir Cold Heart formerly, no, Claude Sir Cold, Claude, formerly Sir Cold Heart, the royal executionist thing. We've all completely drifted over the fact that you're a knight.
00:45:49
Speaker
As you make your way out of the building, you look back to see Kelsan still visibly shaking as he starts to collect his belongings, grab a number of scrolls and maps, starts laying out and ordering as
00:46:01
Speaker
Claude has told him to pack up and leave and he seems to have started that action. As you reach the end of the story you open the door and step out into the now pitter patter of the light rain as you step into the now dark and dim streets of Evershire. You start to follow your route back but as you do you notice off in the distance a slight orange glow
00:46:25
Speaker
and a bit of black smoke rising from the distance you can discern from where it is at that point that might have been something to do with the fold and the cold rats or perhaps
00:46:39
Speaker
you know that the shop you are aiming for is some distance from that. So you head in that direction, you head down alleyways, darker now, probably, well he's leading the group at this moment without Kelsey. I've been there before presumably. Yeah.
00:46:56
Speaker
But you've all been there, you walked past it. Yeah, but I've been to the city before. Oh, sorry, yeah. So presumably I will be. But it's dark. So have you got... And I've got a hood on. And you've got a hood on. You've still got your thawing as well. I've not taken that off. But you're leading the way, okay. So we made good time through the streets, finding some fun a way back there. It's a bit...
00:47:15
Speaker
Hodgepodge, we take a couple of wrong turns, the dark throws you off, you see the flicker of people. Smells of chicken. No, you don't smell barrel man. You notice the flickers of people running down alleys and away from you and around you and you see faces looking out the window but nothing of real problem. Finally you come to this opening.
00:47:34
Speaker
And again you see this giant building now almost enshrined by a couple of plinths that are lit around the outside of it. On all four sides this building stands proud and monolithic almost in comparison to the low architecture that seems to surround it. The building doesn't seem to shake, shudder or move as it did previously but seems to sit silent with a dark entrance at the front. What would you like to do?
00:48:03
Speaker
I suppose we just go in. Do you lead on, Robin? Yeah. Let's go in. I mean... This is your show. I don't... Why not? What's the worst that could happen?
00:48:16
Speaker
What are we doing here? Getting supplies. Apparently it's a magic, apparently it's a magic. And, well I mean, it says General Goods and other... Eh, enough with this. Polly walked past everybody. Polly told them... I like that. Polly told me that the building cast spells on itself. Right. I'd walk in. Wonderful. You see on the outside, ground and centre, General Goods and much more, dot dot dot, that's like it's title out front there. As you walk into the store,
00:49:01
Speaker
filled with trinkets and bits and pieces hanging off the walls and ceilings. And on the far side of this, filled with jewels and the odd, archaic sword, sits on a wall, a scimitar here, a bow there, items all around it. You see behind the counter a man, a human, stood there with a long blonde hair and these deep blue eyes as he seems to be scribbling on a pad of a parchment, a piece of parchment. And as he looks up,
00:49:31
Speaker
More customers. Good to see you all. What can I do for you? Two humans, a gnome, an elf, and a dragon ball, walk into a shop. That's the start of a joke, man. Does it do, Delph? No, that's me just saying that. That's Will saying that, sorry. Oh, and the NPC looks to the camera. Uh-oh. Sorry, that was me saying that. Sorry, not the elf thing. This is all making to a rather fascinating shop. What do you sell?
00:49:58
Speaker
What don't we sell, really, is a shorter list, really. My name is Emma Rawley. I am here at your service. Welcome to my general goods and much, much more shop. What do you like about me? The much, much me. It would have cost more than the science. I'll just put it there once. But as you see, my time and efforts and abilities go into this amazing architecture you see before you as you approach the building. What is it's good sir you are looking for? Well, when I hear general goods and much, much more,
00:50:26
Speaker
My good man, I wish to begin with the much, much more. I like where your mind is at. On what part of the much, much more would you be interested in yourself? Would you be interested in those that would cause harm? Or those that perhaps would prevent harm? Those that give you additional abilities? Or indeed those that just change the game altogether? Let's start with change the game altogether. Those prevent harm would probably be good as well. Mr. Roly Poly, was it correct?
00:50:56
Speaker
Our friend here, the elf, has yet to receive spoils from our recent adventure. Perhaps something that would suit an elven man uses his hands a lot. Doesn't wear armour. Okay. Likes to be naked. Yeah. Well. And likes to kick people in wells. Anything that would make him do that? Let's. Right.
00:51:20
Speaker
I don't know if I can help you with that. And he pulls out a large pad of papers and runs his fingers through it, looks at what all you can see are just letters and numbers on the page. He points to one in particular and turns to a series of pulleys and gears and he starts
00:51:37
Speaker
pull them and you feel the whole building start to shake and shudder as the space behind him and the floor seems to vibrate he stops looking at you rather nonchalant to the whole situation before it stops he turns to a small lever on the back of his
00:51:55
Speaker
shop and opens it up and you realise now that each of these blocks are actually the storage of the back of the shop and can move around whichever one he calls. This is when he calls and as it opens up you see row upon row of fine silks and materials. He says one moment good sirs and he steps, oh apologies and you madam, thank you, he says to Talia and steps down into what looks like almost like a cloakroom of sorts and he looks down and picks one eye in particular and pulls out
00:52:24
Speaker
this deep, deep red cloak that puts it on the counter. This, my good sir, is a bit of a game changer. Cloak of invisibility. Right. How does it work? I mean, Drago, do you want to try and go invisible? Not my kind of thing. Not for your interest, then? Well, I've already got a very nice cloak, you see. I mean, unless anybody else
00:52:59
Speaker
archery supplies, my bow is rather basic.
00:53:02
Speaker
Very good question, very good question. And he goes, returns back to his notes, and searches through, and comes across, and his finger lands on a specific item. He pulls a number of pulleys again, the noise continues. It stops, he opens up, and he goes into what you can only describe as an armory that goes deep, deep, deep far back from where he currently is. He walks down, looking at items as he goes further down, further down,
00:53:30
Speaker
trying to find the right kind of item for you. You hear him from the back. Well, I seem to be short on supplies for archery, you see. He pulls out a pair of bows. I've got some non-magical mundane items here, a long bow and a short bow, but my good friend, you look like you would wield a more powerful bow than either of these two. Unfortunately,
00:53:57
Speaker
Nothing here seems to be of that use, unfortunately. What about any gloves or bra- I mean, there might be some braces of archery or, I don't know, some gloves for me to help hit people with. Hmmm. Gauntlets. I think they're called. Gauntlets.
00:54:14
Speaker
Gauntlets, I see, I see, and he steps out and this process continues again. Thank you, you're welcome. You can understand how this process could be annoying to everyone who lives nearby in this constant vibrating the entire building. It seems a cumbersome method and actually the awe of this seems to wear off as you realise actually it's quite a slow process and he looks down and again opens up to this armour and he walks down. Yeah, okay, okay. Hmm, I see.
00:54:44
Speaker
Nothing really in terms of that. I've got some chain mail, some effortiti chain, some split ring mail. Any of that take your interest. This efriti chain actually, what an item. And he pulls out this kind of glowing armor that seems to give off such this powerful order that your eyes are naturally drawn to it. It sits almost like a...
00:55:10
Speaker
It's almost like it's not real armour, like it's almost glass armour and sits with the glow and the shimmer that seems to move over itself. He lays it out. It looks as delicate as a piece of glass, but its strength is legendary. It can kind of just play time really.
00:55:29
Speaker
Is that something you could wear? I have not had a new piece of armour in 20 years. Maybe you'd like it. I have 88 silver. This will cost you 120,000 gold pieces. Can I borrow a silver piece? I'll lend you a silver piece. Take two. I've got 90 silver.
00:55:53
Speaker
Right, I don't think you're getting 120,000 gold pieces. That's what you would like. That's the price. I'm going to only offer you 90 silver pieces. I'd like to offer one gold and here's 90 silver. No, I'm negotiating. I'm sorry, sorry, Claude. I will kindly reject your offer, good sir, as unfortunately it does
00:56:24
Speaker
for myself to stay in businesses building, as you imagine, it's very expensive to maintain and run and unfortunately that will not cover the costs. I understand. Driver, can't you encourage the man to give Claude a discount? Ain't no way you can discount a hundred and twenty-nine thousand gold. And on the name... Ninety silver, excuse me. And on the name that has just been mentioned, his ears kind of prick up and look up at you.
00:56:48
Speaker
Sorry, was there anything else? I'm looking for spells, spells in written formats. Well, I know for certain wizards if you...
00:57:02
Speaker
I have quite a few of those I'm very sure when he does the same method again and he pulls out now goes into the back and you see just a large library room filled for the books and he pulls out a book in particular this one will contain all the spells that we currently have and you've got a scroll of wrath or smite a scroll of toll the dead
00:57:20
Speaker
Shaped water, comprehend languages, green flame, blade, dancing lights, druid craft, healing words, zephyr strike, protection from evil or good, ray of sickness identifying, dancing lights, good berry, divine favour, spiritual weapon, dragon's breath, melt into stone, a stronger dragon's breath, swarm of stone, dispel evil, legend, lore and polymorph. Have you considered perhaps you go one day to bring out a cat and go, this is what you find?
00:57:50
Speaker
and there's basically there's many things. Is there anything in particular I can help you with your search through this very confusing book you said you'd be reading them all out to you like some kind of fool. The book itself, how much for the book? I mean the book is just an index of all the spells that it tells you what we have and then I go and get the spell which is down there. If you wanted all of this I mean
00:58:11
Speaker
We've got power word killing here, and that alone costs 123,000 gold pieces, so the entire book would be, and it's millions! And no one knows that kind of money. Do you? No, no, no. I'm afraid. Let me just browse the book for now. From experience, Claude. Looking for. From experience, Claude, yes. Magical items are quite expensive. Quite the power gets all the money. Out from adventures, and I assume, like, a dragon horde. But then what do they give to charities?
00:58:41
Speaker
The rest of the money, I assume. My good man, do you have the means of enchanting weapons that have perhaps once been magical? I don't have that in my person. I'm not one of the blacksmiths background. I unfortunately just partake in the trade of buying and selling these items, you see. So no would be the short answer I could have given you. Well, this shop is wonderfully disappointing.
00:59:05
Speaker
What about general supplies, if we're going to be travelling straight on from here? True. Just grab general supplies, it'll be helpful. Yeah, how many sets of supplies I can sort them out for you now? How far is it to Blackmouth from here? Oh, Blackmouth, if you take the long path... Quickest route. It's the name, the long path. Sorry, brilliant, brother. To the west. One, two, three, four, five, six days' walk.
Drago's Reflection and Future Tensions
00:59:33
Speaker
So we need supplies for five, six people. Well, let's say eight days just to give ourselves leeway. And is that for all of your current selves? Six, seven, the young lady probably wants some food as well. One, two, three, four, five, six. Apologies, my maths has done my strong point. I don't know why my dad said I could work at this shop. And he reaches down and quite quickly picks out the packs necessary with supplies of rations.
00:59:57
Speaker
water and any kind of kindling and sorts of wood and dried materials and we'd need to start fires. Is there anything else out of this you might be interested in? Are healing potions? Healing potions we do have indeed. I've got a selection here. Put them in and pause them out. Just got them under the counter of just 1d4 plus 1 potions. About five of them used. How much? For the lot. For all of it. For all of them? No, not all the potions, all of this.
01:00:23
Speaker
And the potions. How many potions? Five. The five potions he's put out. We need, what, we're taking all five? Well, how much per potion? Well we have 30 gold pieces per potion. Done. Hang on. I only have 88.
01:00:40
Speaker
Yeah, I know. And how much with the supplies? With the supplies, there's 150 for the potions, plus the supplies, we'll round it down to, let's say, 160. That's not bad. Can we share that between us? Since we're robbing Fauzi, Ford... Our communal pot. Oh, sorry. Since we are buying a healthy supply of potions to make you probably take enough that you will take in an average month, let's say 150 for the lot,
01:01:13
Speaker
I'm going to bend look on that as well. Another two saucer points. I'll add a d4. I love that. I don't know if Ollie will just blow up. 17 plus 3. 20 plus 23.
01:01:31
Speaker
23. I thought I said 20 before I found my magnifier and then I couldn't find this way. I thought you were saying 20 plus 20. You did say all those... 23. Thank you very much. Oh, go on then. You seem like a good, well-meaning bunch of people and he purposely makes eyes towards Drago and quickly looks away again. Please, 150 gold pieces. Let's make that.
01:02:00
Speaker
In relation to the bag of holding, I might take out 150 gold pieces.
01:02:06
Speaker
Very good, thank you for doing business with you and quickly write down what he has sold to you. Now my good man, was there anything in particular out of my list of spells that you were interested in? This one seems particularly useful for what we're planning. This is a healing word. At the scroll of healing word, yes of course, I will get that for you now and he reaches back and he quickly pulls up a single scroll which he rolls up and reassigns the seal to it. You notice from this that it is an official
01:02:32
Speaker
scroll. This is not any kind of stock magic or black magic scroll. This is an official one which would work as your need. Any other scrolls I can interest you in? Nothing at the moment. Now, the base price for this is 720 gold but as a fine patron here with your friends, how about would you say 500 gold? Yes, yes, we could do that. Just one second. No problem. Folly's going to put his rucksack down, jump into his rucksack. He's got
01:03:01
Speaker
Bags with bits of money and money. He's got a lot of copper pizzas. Chagga quickly goes over to the bag and zips it up. That deal's a that problem! And then we all walk out the store and then it's symbolic again. Continue to talk about that. How much to show you the bag? 120,000 copies. So you're in the bag.
01:03:25
Speaker
I'm in the bag, five out of five is when it got a lot of copper pieces, you're going to basically cast Prestigitation on it to gold pieces instead. I need you bought into my five round of gold way too easy. Wow! Okay, so you're pulling out these bags of gold. I'm pulling out what looks to me now. Would this be an illusion rather than Prestigitation? What can Prestigitation do?
01:03:49
Speaker
You can make something appear. I can make a colour, small mark or symbol appear on it so I can change the colour. But you can cast it a second. How many of these coins can you change? There's only a few gold ones on the top.
01:04:01
Speaker
Okay, so it's not like I'm changing everything. There's a few gold pieces on the top of this bag. Which I'm going to try and fob off. Do you need to roll for anything? No, I'm just going to roll his intelligence really, just straight intelligence against that. And in that case I will use Ben Look again because I can actually give you a reduction of a D4. Is there a verbal thing? Does he notice it?
01:04:28
Speaker
Do we know? I basically go into it, but I can mumble for myself. Do you have to see him cast it? No. I cast it on the money itself. I'm sorry, thank you. It's almost like, yeah, it's more like using it in an illusionary way. Sorry, I was just trying to work out whether we noticed him.
01:04:49
Speaker
I'm limited to just like, yeah, the top few. Okay. As you reach into your bag, you get into your bag, you cast as a person's education, you come out of the bag and hand over probably how many, how many bags? It's just all in one kind of bag, but just the few coins on the top that are actually good. Okay. He, you bring the bag up on the table and he kind of looks like my lord.
01:05:15
Speaker
opens a bag up, looks into it and kind of very well, hands over the scroll towards you and pulls the bag in and just puts it down the side there. Now, dare I ask, is there anything else you are interested in purchasing while you are here? Silver arrowheads, do you have any? No silver ones, unfortunately. Unfortunately, I don't come in the vicinity of those. They all go straight up to the calls, you see.
01:05:40
Speaker
Just while you're having this discussion, Folly's going to quickly put the scroll in his bag and start walking out the door. I'll wait outside for you gentlemen. Goodbye, good doing business with you sir. Always a pleasure. I'm gonna, yeah, when no one looked at L Theoret, Robin and Drago and then say...
01:05:57
Speaker
Is there anything else we need? Drago? And then look towards the person's body language. And again, his eyes drop down from looking at you to look at the papers in front of him. He doesn't seem to be turning them, he just seems to be moving them. And then look back to these three and see if they're registered what I did. Can the three others, Drago, Robin and Elba, can you roll a perception check please, to see if you noticed, called eyes.
01:06:27
Speaker
Let's start with... Robin, what did you get? 14. OK, so you notice. Elphin? 18. You definitely noticed, Draggo? 11. You don't notice. I assume I've noticed that he's been looking at me.
01:06:46
Speaker
Yes, you notice the few things where I explained it to you. Yeah, exactly. So not to... Elphir and Robin, you catch on to the fact that you've seen Claude make this and then notice the shopkeeper look away slightly as well. Oh, I do have a selection of herbs and spices if you're interested in anything to sweeten up your food on your travels. Where is it you might be? I don't know. What do you think, Drago? And he looks down again.
01:07:18
Speaker
Interesting. Shopping's not my thing. We know this. I think we're done here. What? Pretend lots of Claude. What's going on? I'm hungry.
01:07:37
Speaker
Why do you keep avoiding our dragonborn friend here? No reason, no reason at all. And I'm not really into shopping, so. I'm not really into, yeah. Did you two have a thing once? What? No, no, it's nothing to do with that. It's just, nothing. Just, is there anything else I can help you with? You guys want anything else? I know I'm done. I think they like each other.
01:08:07
Speaker
I don't know, something seems off. Nothing, nothing's off here. Just an honest businessman trying to get some work done late at night in his store, you see. Perhaps I'll meet you guys outside. I might be able to walk outside now. Yeah, so I think that's a good idea, cool. Let's just walk outside together. Okay. It's like the start of some kind of grinder date.
01:08:39
Speaker
I feel like pleased as well. Okay, can, uh, follow you already outside, aren't you? Yes. Can I ask that the four of you just step outside for a second whilst, uh, Joanna remains in the shop? Okay. Yeah. Okay. We're alone now. What is up? Why are you looking at me? Um, I've had looks before. This is stranger than normal. Well, it's,
01:09:09
Speaker
He kind of shifts awkwardly where he stood and still avoids eye contact. I saw another dragon born here earlier today actually. He came in looking for some weaponry. Came in looking for a specific sword.
01:09:32
Speaker
He asked me if I knew of any other Dragonborns in Evershire at the moment. I said no, because I hadn't seen any. And well, just as he left, he turned to me and said, if you do see one, give him this message. Dengon wants his sword back.
01:10:07
Speaker
like you but he had a cowl like a hood on that covered a bit of his face but he looked like I think it was old because like his scales were a bit cracked is that what happens when when dragonborns get old I don't know but I think he was old at all as tall as a dragon but as tall as yourself it's not slightly taller as in he looked like me or an older version of me
01:10:37
Speaker
Dragonborn, look at my face. Did you see this clearly? Yeah, yes. And I turn my full gaze towards him. Yeah. And I'm forcing him to look at me. And he looks directly at you and, yes, he looks similar to you. Your, your, your, your, your features, not just the fact you are a Dragonborn, your, your, the eye colour, the, the, the blue aura you seem to admit. He, he shared that and he said Dangan wants his sword back.
01:11:07
Speaker
Who is Dengon? Why was he here? Did he say he was Dengon? No, but he didn't. He just said Dengon wants his sword back. How many Dragonborns did you see around this part? Not many. You were the second today, but it's weeks before I see the next one. Did he say he was going anywhere? No, he didn't. He just seemed to be very intent on finding this sword, this weapon he was looking for and asking me if I had it.
01:11:37
Speaker
Do you think he's looking for me or just a different dragonborn? I don't know. He didn't lead with the question about dragonborns. He led with the question about the sword. That would lead me to believe he's more interested in the sword than the dragon that holds it. Excuse me, dragonborn. I'm sorry if I've caused you any discomfort, sir. That's the reason why I was avoiding your gaze, so... See, whatever colour Drago has in his face kind of drains somewhat. You do not look well, sir.
01:12:11
Speaker
I don't suppose you know where he was going? He didn't say, unfortunately. And how long ago was this? This was whilst the sun was still in the sky. This was in the afternoon of today. Did he buy anything? He bought some newt eyes and an alchemical pack, like your basic pack you get with all your normal dried herbs and spices for basic alchemy and magic.
01:12:45
Speaker
I seem to have caused you some discomforts myself. I am sorry for that but I didn't want you to leave without me letting you know the message I was asked to pass on to you. Well

And that's what we're going to leave it for today's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop. A little bit of a cliffhanger. Thank you so much for listening, everyone. Thank you guys for sticking it out. I'm slightly extended. Again, second non-fight episode, but I think we've found it. So we've rolled play though, today. We've got our final next heading of heading to Blackmouth and figuring out what this Onyx Reaver is, and finally getting somewhere closer to maybe being able to close this rift of the MSCA Blights. Well, one of them.
01:13:42
Speaker
I'm in like fucking dumbstruck for. Thank you very much everyone for listening to us and making us a part of your everyday week. We love you for it. We really do. Everyone around this table.

Crafts by Claude: A Shoutout to Danny
01:14:44
Speaker
this is a special and really quick shoutout to our main man Danny who plays Claude. He's set up his own Etsy page and it's called, funnily enough, Crafts by Claude. He's currently hand making and selling personalized initiative trackers. Each comes with a logo of the character or creature type because you can also have them made for baddies as well.
01:15:00
Speaker
and they can be personalised to include specific character names or indeed nicknames if you want them. But wait, I hear you exclaim, where do I put these awesome trackers made by the world's single nicest person? Luckily they fit perfectly on your DM screen or in my case, my laptop screen. And we've all been there in the heat of a massive important battle and you've kind of lost track a little bit about whose turn it is and the players are all up in your face about who's going next. These are perfect just so everyone knows very clearly who's going in what order. They're super easy to move around to set up

Speaker
They're not going to get broken. They are honestly incredible. A bit to care. We've used them quite a bit on the Fellowship at the tabletop and we love them. Check out his work on Etsy. Search Crafts by Claude.
