We're good. Okay. So with the 14th draft priority, nay, pick pick, we have Matt Shithouse Maxa.
00:01:36
Speaker
In the 13th spot of a draft priority, nay, pick pick, we have Tim 501st Hall. And in the 12th draft priority, nay, pick pick, we have Nick Thunker.
00:01:52
Speaker
um In the 11th, we have ah draft priority, nay, pick, pick. We have Zach um coming in. So then in the consolation bracket.
00:02:03
Speaker
So far, that was the the reverse of how the championship bracket finished. The championship bracket reversed. Then in the consolation bracket, where we're actually playing for better draft priority, nay, pick, pick.
00:02:17
Speaker
ah The loser of the consolation bracket coming in with the 10th draft priority slot in a pick-pick is Ecom and Tenettenbaugh. In the ninth draft priority slot, we have Tom Steelhouse.
00:02:32
Speaker
um In the eighth draft priority slot, we have Brian. And in the seventh draft priority slot in a pick-pick, we have Jarrett. Blake, are you writing all this down?
00:02:43
Speaker
No, really?
00:02:50
Speaker
Thanks, Blake.

Draft Format & Final Picks

00:02:52
Speaker
So this segment of the show we're doing as a video so we can post it in the Discord later. um And Andy, you are about to draft through the lottery for the final six picks, right? Yeah.
00:03:11
Speaker
final six picks right And there's four there's four teams that had the same record. There were 9-19. And those teams get four cards.
00:03:21
Speaker
And the others get three in the lotto. That's right. So the four carters are Cameron. Cammon. Good Lord. Cammon. Jeff. Kegel.
00:03:34
Speaker
These teams. Oh. See? I messed it up. Jeff. I messed it up. It should have been Andy...
00:03:46
Speaker
the The teams with the four cards are Andy, Cody, and Kurt Phil.
00:03:54
Speaker
Kurt Phil is correct. Oh my goodness gracious. I just read the script. I don't i know i don't really think that until after I read it.
00:04:05
Speaker
I think I have number dyslexia. Do you guys want to hear the cheers instrumental again? good No, we don't. Alright guys, for those of you looking at home, thank you Jeffrey. Yes, our three 9 and 19 teams. but were cody Cody has four cards in the lotto.
00:04:24
Speaker
The ace. Kurt Phil has four cards in the lotto. We have Andy has four cards in the lotto.
00:04:35
Speaker
Blake, are you getting excited?
00:04:39
Speaker
Yeah. So Cody is the ace. Kurt for is the deuce. Andy is the three. That's right. um Cagle is the four.
00:04:50
Speaker
Cagle's the four. Jeff is the five. There we go. And Cammon is the six. Andy, you got to shuffle all this shit together. And, you know, while andy Andy is shuffling in his draft lottery tuxedo.
00:05:10
Speaker
Blake is smoking the keys in the back there. Not in the back, I mean, he's he's in the it's a floor box. There's no front back or side to side. um Andy, how's the shuffling going?
00:05:24
Speaker
Ooh, those are cool cards.
00:05:28
Speaker
Think so? Yeah, that's a pretty that's a pretty pretty special deck of cards you got there. Only the specialist. right, Andy, so... We're getting ready.

Draft Strategy Discussion

00:05:40
Speaker
I almost played i almost put a sound bite that I didn't want to play yet. ah People, if you have questions about this this ah draft priority, nay, pick, pick, please, please call That's 612-293-6635. That number always easy to remember and hard to forget. Thanks, guys.
00:05:57
Speaker
that number is always easy to remember and hard to forget thanks guys All right, Jeff, I'm going to cut these cards. Okay. and the and And the first card on top is going to be the first pick. Okay. Okay? Are you ready?
00:06:16
Speaker
Cut them.
00:06:21
Speaker
All right, here we go.
00:06:24
Speaker
Let's see who the first pick is.
00:06:28
Speaker
Wow. It's a six folks. It's a six. That would be.
00:06:36
Speaker
finle
00:06:41
Speaker
Congratulations. himan or Rebuttal.
00:06:46
Speaker
Cam's never won. Maybe with that first pick. Oh, first draft priority. na pick pickck First pick pick. That's right. Jammin, start thinking about your theory there.
00:06:56
Speaker
you want number one? you want number 14 and 15? and 28? What are going do? What are you going to do? And his name is John Cena.
00:07:11
Speaker
And for the next pick.
00:07:15
Speaker
Oh, it's Cammon again. All right. so we can't have Cammon win two draft priority slots in a row. That's right, folks. We didn't take all three of Cammon's cards out. We just kept reshuffling.
00:07:28
Speaker
So now who do we have? Who do we have? The tension thick. Oh, we have Nick Kegel. Nick Kegel wins the second draft priority in a pick pick.
00:07:42
Speaker
Coming in with the third draft priority here, we have one shuffle. Do we have two shuffles?
00:07:51
Speaker
Who are we going to see? Who are we going to see? And it is the ace of diamonds. We have Cody. Cody with the third draft priority in a pick pick slot.
00:08:03
Speaker
We've got three more to give out here, folks. Three more draft priority positions that we're handing out today. ah Next up on the draft priority scale or wheel or however you really want to think about it, we've got the three, which is Nick Kegel. Already came up, Nick.
00:08:22
Speaker
Nick, you can't win again. No, that's me. That's me. I'm sorry. Oh. Three's Andy. Three is Andy. Andy with the fourth draft priority, nay, pick pick. Andy, you're coming in on the four hole.
00:08:35
Speaker
So how many left, Jeff? Two. We got two more. Wow. This might take a while. You know why? There's a lot more cards in two.
00:08:45
Speaker
the five card. That's right, folks. Jeff with the fifth draft priority, nay, pick, pick. So a five for five for five. That's more than four left than six.
00:08:55
Speaker
Yeah. So you don't actually have to do the next one because that means our friend Kurt Phil is coming in with the sixth draft priority, nay, pick, pick slot.
00:09:08
Speaker
And his name is John Cena.

Season Reflection & Future Changes

00:09:15
Speaker
Thank you for joining us for the draft lottery live, but not going to be live because we're going to probably edit this a bunch, not take, not change anything. Just have to, you know, take out. Yeah.
00:09:29
Speaker
Yeah. That's all the dead air. I like that. There's a Kesha poster behind you, Blake. There is. um so looking ahead for next year, this last year we announced some major changes that never came to fruition, such as relegation.
00:09:47
Speaker
A guy can dream, of course. Here's what we're thinking about for next year. We're going to do promotion relegation this year, Blake. And we just didn't do it. um Just kind of got busy with life.
00:09:59
Speaker
um So this next year, right now we have one keeper every year. And next year, after the draft, so not not for next season, but the season in to follow, we're going to allow people to have two keepers.
00:10:12
Speaker
um That player has to remain on a team all season. Now that, that, that could be Andy. Did we decide if that could be like, you could trade someone who's been kept on a team all season.
00:10:23
Speaker
So like if Blake was in the league and he had kept, um, uh, Wilson McGillicuddy for the entire season, the Appendixstria's quarterback, uh, could he then trade him to Kurt Phil?
00:10:40
Speaker
So they just have to stay on our roster. oh I mean, you know, it seems, it seems like, you know, you could reward the person who kept them on the roster for the whole season.
00:10:52
Speaker
And I feel like that could play into the next change. Jeff, I defer. Okay. defer to you sir I think it's a good rule. All right. Uh, in the spirit of changing the rules to benefit myself from the prior season,
00:11:09
Speaker
We will probably bring back pick trades as my season was

Draft Pick Trades & Strategies

00:11:12
Speaker
over a long time ago. You noticed that, right, Blake? Yeah, I noticed. To mitigate this, we might... Should
00:11:24
Speaker
should have waited for the crickets to end. But in order to mitigate pick trades, we'll probably move the trade deadline up by a couple of weeks since i knew for I knew for a while that my hopes were dashed.
00:11:37
Speaker
What the are pick trades? Yeah, so draft priority, nay, pick picks, lets you decide where in the draft you're going to pick, you know, first, second, third, all that sort of thing. And then once the draft order is set, ah we have 15 rounds, is it, Andy? Or do we have 14 rounds of a draft?
00:11:57
Speaker
And then ah you get to trade those picks to someone if you want to. So you can trade your first round pick, your second round pick, um You have to get back the same number of picks so that so that so that um you have a full roster, but you can trade your first-round pick for a third-round pick. um you know If you wanted to get a better player that someone has, you can say, hey, I'll give you next year's first-round pick for that good player, and you give me back your last-round pick, your seventh or eighth or whatever.
00:12:32
Speaker
We just can't have anyone leave.
00:12:36
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. if if you If you trade picks, then you're locked in for the next year. You basically have agreed to give Andy $40 more. dollars That's right. Okay, with the possible return of Phil, our 2023 champion, thanks to Kurt for filling in.

Season Recap & Acknowledgments

00:12:52
Speaker
You definitely made it interesting for your inauspicious draft to your 4-2 start, plus your Dynamite podcast appearance. We'd love to get you back on the show next year, please, Kurt. So that, I guess, is something that we are looking ahead to. you Obviously, we want to have Kurt on as a guest anytime.
00:13:08
Speaker
Kurt's always welcome. every Every time. Thanks for the voicemail today, Kurt. Yeah, Kurt, you were the only one who answered the call, as it were. Time for some final thoughts and reflections on the season with some snazzy synth from BT the Spech.
00:13:25
Speaker
It was the tale of two new teams. Matt barely made the playoffs and went on to win it all, while Cody snagged the Skolster for 2025 by mere 1,600ths of point. Wah, wah, wah.
00:13:39
Speaker
of a point walk Some vindication for regular season performance, which we haven't had in a while. Five people made money on the season.
00:13:51
Speaker
So congrats to Matt, Tim, Thunker, Ecom and the steel house.
00:13:59
Speaker
Five teams made some money back. So it wasn't a complete lost loss. Zach and Kurt recouped half of their dues while Jeff, Brian and Cammon made enough for the $9.99 Applebee's meal deal, excluding tax and tip, of course, and the discussion we need to have about the asterisk up above. And tipping. Tipping. We got to tip. You can't go to fucking Applebee's and... Get bottomless fries and not tip.
00:14:34
Speaker
Right. Yeah.

00:16:50
Speaker
