Speaker: Blake, thanks so much for coming back on the show. You are the heart and soul of this league, as you probably know. I'm super pumped that all that music is still getting used.

Speaker: That makes me so happy hearing that. I'm just like, holy shit, I'm way... Dude, that one's so good. want that be on

Speaker: commercials. It's so good. i want i want that to be on commercials that's so good

Speaker: And I want people to find us, you know, of be in the place those songs originated, those jams. Those are good jams. I'm pumped about those.

Speaker: are you doing today, Blake? I'm doing great. I'm doing great. Did you know it's been 350 days since you were on this podcast? I did not know that.

Speaker: That is almost a year. Yeah.

Speaker: I made that up, but it's really close. It's really frigging close.

Speaker: Yeah. yeah As we were recording, I did just get like a an a voicemail as we're recording, Andy. Wow. This is like breaking news. don't know if you guys, do we have time to add in an extra voicemail? Sure.

Speaker: Good evening. This is Anne-Marie Campbell of the Fargo School District. Please stay on the line for an important weather-related message. Due to the forecasted weather conditions, all Fargo Public Schools classes and extracurricular activities are canceled for

Speaker: the Special Education Preschool Program and the Adult Learning Center. Due to the cancellation, Fargo Public Schools will use the Storm Makeup Day built into the school calendar of Monday, April 6th.

Speaker: seems It seems like it cut out with some pretty important news there mid yeah voicemail, but whatever. I'll figure it out tomorrow. Even public safety announcements are being redacted in real time.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I also think, you know, we got to kick things up a notch after that message, which was a real yeah boil slow burn. Jeff, who is tonight? A beloved children's television host is reportedly recovering after years of addiction to the hokey pokey. Sources confirm the host has since turned himself around.

Speaker: That's what it's all about.

Speaker: ah better That was good, guys. Yeah, that's all right. I was actually hoping we could hear from our sponsor this week, Jeffrey. Oh, yeah, sure. one second here.

Speaker: Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way. Ah, another boring Christmas song? Yeah, we want hear something that treads. Hey kids, are you you want a little destruction in your Christmas music?

Speaker: Yeah! Well, you're in luck because this year Santa's wearing all black. Check out a track from my personally curated album, Kegger's A Very Metal Christmas.

Speaker: I think that just melted my face off. You little shits want to hear another? Oh, yeah!

Speaker: Yeah, this shit rocks. And the Very Metal Christmas has ten more thrashing tracks that will have you turning the playground sandbox into a mosh pit.

Speaker: One more.

Speaker: And what are you going to ask for Christmas this year? Kager is a very metal Christmas. Go on fucking kids! Download on Spotify or wherever you get your music.

Speaker: Merry Christmas, you filthy animal.

Speaker: Thank you to our sponsor. What a fitting sponsor for having Blake on the show. Right. Timely in a lot of ways.

Speaker: Blake, when is when is your metal album due out? Oh, next June. You're doing a Mother's Day metal? Mother's Day metal. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. yeah That's it's Mother's Day metal. That's great. That's a great album title. It sounds like a great album cover to me. Concept, everything.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah. um thats day Apparently my kids are really into it, so let me know when it's coming out. Okay. Hey, Blake, welcome back to the show. um We start at this point in the show, we cover some questions and comments cultivated from either our Discord community or, you know, the world at large.

Speaker: And our first question to you is, have you watched Tom Hunters yet? i have not.

Speaker: Do you need a Netflix gift card for Christmas or something? What's what's the holdup here? Yes. Yes, I do. okay You got it. Check your mailbox.

Speaker: Jeff, what other Tuesdays do we got? Should there be a toilet bowl next year? Andy. And, uh... Yeah, that's a good question. Blake, um...

Speaker: our bottom six teams have nothing to do right now. We're in the fantasy playoffs, you know, uh, they're just out. And currently we do a draft lotto, so um if you're the worst team, you get like six you know bingo balls in the and the basket, and then five, four, three.

Speaker: You have a better chance of getting a better pick, yada, yada, yada. Do you think we should make them play more fantasy in some sort of toilet bowl next year?

Speaker: I think they should definitely play fantasy in a toilet bowl. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I mean, I don't and don't see the downside. Minimal at best.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah. Okay. Blake, what do you think of the new show format? I think it's great. I'm confused, but I'm having a really great time.

Speaker: Good, good. yeah um Would you be interested in joining a playoff fantasy game? um This would be fantasy football, but only when the playoffs for the NFL start.

Speaker: Here's how we're thinking about doing it, Blake. You set you you set your lineup once. Mm-hmm. can pick any player from any team.

Speaker: You get like a quarterback, two receivers, two running backs, etc. Set it up once. And then when teams are eliminated from the actual playoffs, you basically lose those players. They're not producing any more points.

Speaker: yeah So it's not a thing you have to look into every week. You know he just set it.

Speaker: forget it. Yep. Forget it. There's no wrong answer to this, Blake. I forget what the question was. Like, would I do it? Yeah. Would you want to join our extended fantasy?

Speaker: and Sure. I, you know, i know. about it oh little If you want to, you can call us at this number. That number is always easy to remember and hard to forget.

Speaker: Thanks, guys. 6-1-1-2-2-9-3-6-3-5. c six three five Just drop us a line there. ah Just call us or text us. Okay, Blake? Okay. All right.

Speaker: Yeah. I'll let you know. Excellent. Jeff? um Where's Tom?

Speaker: Blake, where's Tom? Um, but is is he also in the in the fantasy toilet? Huh.

Speaker: That's a correct answer. Okay. Wow. No one's asking that correctly. every Everyone's got that wrong.

Speaker: Even though we're not typically scoring that question. You got it right, sir. Congratulations. Hey, thanks. sounds like Sounds like you are watching Tom Hunters after all, but...

Speaker: I'm just lying to you about not watching Tom Hunters. Yeah, you're embarrassed because it's trash television. Yeah, yeah. You don't want people to know.

Speaker: You don't want seven to eight people know. Yeah.

Speaker: ah All right, that's any more questions and comments, Jeff? ah No. All right. um Do we have another voicemail today? We do have voicemail, yep.

Speaker: All right. Yeah, i was a little caught off guard. I didn't realize the playoffs were starting this week. But, you know, couldn't help but notice. I didn't have a game scheduled. So the champ has earned a bye week.

Speaker: And look out for the rest of the season, boys. Have fun.

Speaker: That was from Matt. um Jeff, I don't want to tell him. Do you want to tell him? ah No, he'll get it in his email eventually. Okay.

Speaker: Do you think he's noticed yet that he also doesn't have a game this week, nor does he have any other games scheduled? Uh, you know we'll see. He'll, he'll call us back in a week or two. He probably will.

Speaker: All right, guys, it's time for everyone's, um, fourth favorite segment of this show. Uh, it's called the Mjolnir Minute. Are you guys ready? Tell me when, just when you're going to start the clock, Andy.

Speaker: Starting the clock now.

Speaker: right. This last week, the Minnesota Vikings played the Dallas Cowboys, Andy. It was a Sunday night game. Did you get a chance to watch? I saw some. Yeah, I saw the end of it.

Speaker: Blake, were you watching this one? and I'm sure you were. i missed i missed I missed this one. This one, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it was a weird kickoff time. It was.

Speaker: Yeah. 4 a.m. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Andy, it looks like JJ's fixed. And i think that two weeks in a row after we ah cut Adam Thielen, clearly Thielen was the problem.

Speaker: Yep. Yeah, sometimes when you got a feeling, it's a bad feeling. and all right And, you know, Happy Trails will welcome him back with open arms to retire next season.

Speaker: But for now, clearly this is the way. So, ah Jeff, do they still have a chance of making playoffs? No, no, they were eliminated before the game started.

Speaker: Great. Yep. That's great. And that's been...

Speaker: The Bueller Minute. Blake, we have you here to answer some very, very special questions, not to be confused with the Qs and Cs.

Speaker: It's time for everyone's favorite segment, Five Questions.

Speaker: Five Questions. Five Questions. Oh, really? Really?

Speaker: Jeff, you want to kick things off? Yeah. Hey, Blake, what's your Chipotle order?

Speaker: ah Um, I, I don't know. I haven't been to, I haven't been to Chipotle in a while. I'll tell you what though, I'm, I'm doing a, I'm, I'm, uh, doing ah a ketogenic diet, um, and have been for a little while, which has been pretty fantastic for me. And, uh, so real low carb. So I would just order some, I don't know, chicken and guacamole, I guess.

Speaker: Okay. would you Do you use the app or do you do it in person? I would do it in person. Okay. So you would walk up and say, could I get some chicken and guacamole?

Speaker: that's i think yeah I would just be like, can I just get like a spoonful of chicken and just throw some guacamole on there? Throw some cheese on there if you want. Basically, ever actually...

Speaker: yeah a lot of the Yeah, a lot of that's good. Everything but just got the tortilla tortilla and the rice? No tortilla, no rice, nor no beans.

Speaker: No beans. So you'd go chicken, um cheese, guacamole, lettuce? Sure, lettuce. Salsa?

Speaker: I might skip the salsa. Why would you skip the salsa? Yeah, Blake, what the fuck? Tomatoes. They're not keeping friendly. Not friendly.

Speaker: i mean, they're they're good. They're good. Yeah. You know, maybe they'll be just like light on the salsa. You know? Yeah. Yeah. I just, you know, you walk into an establishment, Blake, you know, they're making minimum wage.

Speaker: Yeah. And you have the audacity to walk up to them and say, I'd like some chicken and guac. Yeah, hey, actually, you know, it's less work for them. They don't have to do shit with a grill or whatever the fuck with the tortilla thing. You think you think the computer has the option to just punch chicken and guac?

Speaker: And present a price to you You think that's programmed in? I mean, I assume that they're just charging me for a burrito. Yeah, I do too. Okay. They'd probably give you like a lot of chicken in this scenario. Yeah, they probably would. They would. probably walk off with a king's ransom of chicken.

Speaker: Yeah, because they don't know how much, they don't know what the fuck. Yeah, they want to fill the container. Yeah. And they're like, they're like ah, shit. It's just a mountain of chicken. and just Fuck, I'm going to go to Chipotle.

Speaker: I'm going get my chicken mountain. Yeah. Chicken mountain. Just ask them for a chicken mountain with a little bit of guac.

Speaker: Tell them you heard about it on this podcast. They'll be embarrassed that they haven't heard about it. Yeah. good to you I don't know. I feel like, uh, here's, here's what my score for you then.

Speaker: Correct. Correct. Correct.

Speaker: Hey, Blake, yeah what's a TV show you bailed on after at least one season? When and why? Oh, um you know, it was actually, it was ah ah a handmaid's tale.

Speaker: And it was just because like after the first season, i was just like, I can't handle this right now. And I just need to be done. I'd like to revisit it at some point, but like, I remember that being a show, like maybe one of the only ones, if maybe the only one where I'm just like, I can't do this right now.

Speaker: um Yeah. So you might return to it, but you might not. Yeah, I should give it another go. I mean, Margaret Atwood is fucking awesome. I just haven't, I hadn't read those books and that, I don't know. I don't know what it was that time and place.

Speaker: i was just like, I i can't do it It's fraying my brain.

Speaker: Jeff, did you watch The Handmaid's Tale? um I actually bailed after one episode.

Speaker: We bailed after... I'm not going back. You're not going back. We bailed after three seasons, I think. So... I'm going to give them the point.

Speaker: What do you think? cliff Correct. Correct. correct Correct. I'm not second guessing your... your Good job.

Speaker: Good job, Blake. but Hey, Blake, this one, this one's a a little bit of a two-parter maybe. careful What's your mile time today and or if you trained for a month?

Speaker: You can take it as a two-parter or you can just, you know. And this is for running? my time. You take that as you want. ah You know, i do ah ah do a rolling machine most days.

Speaker: And so I'm doing that in meters. Yep. Uh, so, you know, I'm trying to trying to do 500 meters at two minutes, two minutes or below. Which is a good time for people that don't know anything about rowing. Two minutes on 500 meters is definitely solid.

Speaker: Yeah, it's, I mean, it's hard. I mean, it's the like, I've been working for the last like six months. I've been working my way to like, fuck, I can do under two meter, under two minutes.

Speaker: um So that's, feel good about that. So I have no idea what that equates to in miles, but that's what I'm, that's what I'm rocking. Well, you saw your car on the X-15s.

Speaker: You know, what's that? If you did, if you did a mile, right. Cause like a mile would be what? 1550, something like that. Cause 1600, 1600, uh, 1600, right? Just 1600 would be a mile.

Speaker: 1600 meters of the mile. Yeah. That's four times around the track. 400, 400. You're right. Oh shit. Yeah. So, so you'd be at seven minutes.

Speaker: All right. I'll take it. Not even seven minutes? Seven, six and change? Six and change. I'll take that. That feels good. I'll put that on my tombstone.

Speaker: When I die. guess I don't know. Yeah, we't remember we'll remember one. For the record. for the record. Correct. correct clear Correct.

Speaker: Correct. coma Do you have a you have a ah rowing machine of choice, Blake? I can't remember what the brand is. It's one of the ones that actually has water in it.

Speaker: o Oh, it's a water rower. A water rower? Yeah. Did you did you do you have access to it or did you get one? ah I got one. This was like a couple of years ago.

Speaker: and I'm finally like using it a lot now, which is good. That's cool. Yeah.

Speaker: All right, Blake. I have a concept too. Oh, all right. All right. Jeff, how do you score this? How do score what?

Speaker: i I gave him correct. Oh, you did? Yep. Sorry, I got so lost in the water rower. didn't even know that was a thing.

Speaker: But it is. It is. Yeah. It's cool. Speaking of water, Blake, what's your favorite thing to do on the toilet besides the obvious? My favorite thing to do on the toilet besides the obvious? Mm-hmm. I think Andy's implying that people do things on their phone on the toilet, but you take it wherever you want to go.

Speaker: Oh. ah No, my favorite thing is, well, clear it out, you know? Yeah, that's that's that's good. that So besides that, ahha you know you're not checking your fantasy lineup?

Speaker: No, I'm not. um What are you doing? you know so You know, I still do some old-fashioned reading.

Speaker: ah like Physical books or on your phone? Mm-hmm, physical books. Wow. Do you have a... do you have a A bathroom book, Blake?

Speaker: Uh, no. No, not necessarily. Do you bring a book with you? Yeah, yeah, I'll grab a book. I like that.

Speaker: ah if I really like it. If you're ever in our upstairs bathroom in our house, there's three drawers next to it. The middle drawer is full of books. Yeah, there we go. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, I'll grab a book. Whatever I'm reading. Yeah.

Speaker: What are you reading right now? Correct. Correct. Correct. What are

Speaker: you reading right now? Like, um there are there are a few things um i'm doing i'm trying to acquaint myself more with i have a i have a dark room in my basement now which is i'm so a weird weird guy with a dark room uh and so i'm still trying to figure out like how all of that just photography shit and how all that works wow Good for you. You decided to to stick with film.

Speaker: That is. it's It's super fun. Yeah. Yeah. Slows down. Yeah. In a good way. Yeah. yeah Okay, Blake.

Speaker: Okay. There's bunch of options here. Loofah, washcloth, hands, plastic scrubby thing, or other? ah Hands.

Speaker: hands Hands and bar soap.

Speaker: It's lot of bathroom stuff in here.

Speaker: There was an audible. Correct. Correct. Correct.

Speaker: Yeah, we're getting near the end of the season, and I just wanted to throw in that that toilet bowl question because of the obvious, you know, and and also test it out for next year. But, yes, we're thinking about toilets. Yeah. A lot. Blake, this might be a fun one. the Unpopular opinion, something that you like that no one else does, or vice versa.

Speaker: Oh, yeah. I read this, and the first thing that that I thought about was there's this um there's this podcast that's called Mixtape, and it's like a spinoff of... It's produced by Radiolab, and it's like a spinoff of Radiolab.

Speaker: And it's like the first episode they have... ah is about China and, in like, communist China in the 80s and 90s. And basically they just didn't have access to, ah you know, Western music, popular Western music. And so when there's this, you'll just have to, you should listen to the thing because it's awesome. But they're basically flooded with a bunch of um almost, like, black market cassette tapes.

Speaker: And it's fascinating because they're talking about, you know, the idea that if you have no idea, right like you don't know who the Beatles are and you're just listening to that up against, you know, anything else and there's no cultural context, then like you get to make up your mind about what it is that you like and you don't like.

Speaker: without having any information about it. Right. And that's just, it was fascinating because like, you know, what you're talking about, like, okay, Beatles, Rolling Stones, whatever, whatever, like some of the stuff that they like were really into in China was like Icelandic metal, you know, and shit like that. Or I'm just like, that's awesome.

Speaker: They're like, you're not tainted with, mean, it's not awesome that, you know, you're not able to listen to music that you want to listen to. But yeah, um I don't know. And so like when I read when i read that question, i was just like, i don't I don't know that there's anything that's like controversial that I like like or don't like. And I kind of am just like, I don't know. I i love the idea that there there shouldn't be anything that you should feel bad about liking or not liking or have it be compared to anything. i don't know. I just would i want everybody to just like whatever they like.

Speaker: that a weird answer to that question? No, it's a perfectly great answer, right, Jeff? No, you're not. No, you're not.

Speaker: No, God. No, God, please, no. No. No. No. All right, all right, I'll take it. i was getting all philosophical and shit on you.

Speaker: Plus, I'm pretty sure you scored five points anyway. So congratulations, Blake. You won. You just heard from the special. Yes, you did.

Speaker: Yes, you did.

Speaker: Hey, yeah that was a good one. And thanks for taking part in this year's Five Questions. Five Questions.

Speaker: Jeff, I think we had a text message come through. Is that accurate? It is. it is. Does it need a little background music? Always. Blake, would you do us the honor?

Speaker: Well, fellers, you've got a text message, and this one is a good one.

Speaker: and then it didn't read it. Well, I'll be damned.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: We, uh, the text message was, um Code 118 colon final reminder, Jeffrey order by 11 59 PM Pacific standard time tonight for guaranteed Christmas delivery, extra 15% off with code XM 15 colon HTTPS colon backslash backslash code one one eight dot

Speaker: psscript.io slash a e i m i underscore p slash g t u i g

Speaker: and we're at time but let me check let me check the watch andy uh we do have four minutes of stoppage time uh jeff need i remind you that three of our questions were about Bathroom behavior.

Speaker: So maybe that needs to let's be taken into consideration. Yeah, it probably should be more like eight. Hey, Blake, we got eight minutes of stoppage time.

Speaker: Are you excited? Yeah. You should be. um So last week was the first week of the playoff for our league, Blake. awesome And um I didn't make it, but Andy andy did. um we had We had some but some good matches, right, Andy?

Speaker: I think only only your match was decided on Sunday, officially, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Jarrett jared will go to the consolation bracket.

Speaker: um Let's see. Did you say Jarrett could have beat me, right, if he had played his best lineup? Yeah, well... he If he had an optimal lineup, he could have beat you.

Speaker: After Darren Waller went off for, what was it, 22 points on Monday night, um he could no longer beat you ah if both were optimized. But before that Waller point ah surge, he optimized, could have beat you optimized.

Speaker: So that was big deal. Okay. Okay. um And, yeah. And Jarrett was never going to play DJ more. So that wasn't, uh, really on the agenda regardless.

Speaker: Um, Nick Thunker took on the eight seed, um, who we love you, Cody Craig. Thanks for being you. ah

Speaker: is currently the holder of the Skullster. Um, Thursday night saw Thunk leave 40-plus points on the bench when he didn't play Kyle Pitts Sr., Andy.

Speaker: And then Thunk lost by 43 points overall. um Yeah. that when you the The eighth most points against him? Is what you're saying? Yeah, I'm just saying that he You know, it it wasn't like, I'm just saying his record was a little suspicious suspect. That's all I'm saying. He had the most points scored in the league, but you're saying that he had the eighth most against.

Speaker: yeah Yeah, just not a ton of points scored. Congrats to Cody. Blake, for two seasons in a row, um we've had we've seen the eighth seed beat the one seed.

Speaker: And last year, that eighth seed went all the way to win the entire thing. So a congrats, Cody. You're in the final four.

Speaker: What else we got here, Jeff? Kamen took on Kegger. Oh, yeah. Pause for rebuttal.

Speaker: It was the closest matchup of the week.

Speaker: Match or the Kamen needed a Waddle to go off, and Waddle did not go off until the last minute, right? Yeah. And it wasn't enough.

Speaker: It wasn't. He lived up to his name. Yep. He waddled. Cameron, you deserve better. And congratulations to Mick.

Speaker: Correct. For moving on. Last we had Ecom versus Brian. Yeah. ah How'd this one go? Well, going into Monday, Brian was up 15 and a half for plus points.

Speaker: um Mike had,

Speaker: can't remember. Mike had, mike hader he had a he had a chance, right? Like I think there was math that he could math out to get the win. um It's just, you know,

Speaker: He had, i think he had to have, ah was it a defense outscore? Yeah, didn't he have to have the Pittsburgh defense outscore Devon A. Chain by 15 plus points?

Speaker: Yeah. So he had a path, but it didn't happen. The defense did not score that many points for him. That was beautiful, Blake.

Speaker: Oh, thank you. Thank you. You know, Ecom won 2020.

Speaker: And ECOM won in 2019. So I'm not shedding any tears. No. I do get it. you might be wondering why we're not going over the end of season awards. You guys, that's going to be its own show.

Speaker: Later on last, last season, we explained every end of season award to, uh, dearest Blake here. um We're going to spare him this time. We're going to make that a special show at the end of the year.

Speaker: ah but going forward, you know, we're, we're still with you. Um, Jeff and I got some ideas cooking up for, for special Christmas Eve episode, maybe.

Speaker: Um, Christmas in the heart. It might be a highlight episode. We'll see. But Jeff, what are we looking forward to next week in these fantasy playoffs?

Speaker: Yeah, the semifinals. ah It gives us Kegger versus Bryant. um And then on the other side of the bracket, ah both of Brian's brother-in-law's face-off. That would be you versus Cody.

Speaker: um In the Andy versus Cody matchup, it looks like quarterback is going to be a pretty big deal. ah Ken Brissett outplay his projection like he has for the past four weeks.

Speaker: And if he outplays his projection like he has been Andy, then you make up that eight-point gap pretty easily. um Are we going to see last-second dart throw?

Speaker: Who knows? um What Lamar will show up for Cody? Or could it be CJ coming off the top rope? So quarterback's going to be a big big one in your guys' matchup.

Speaker: Blake, should I play Brissette or dart at quarterback? Brissette or dart? Yeah. Brissette. Thank you. Easy. Easy.

Speaker: ah but Yeah, and injuries are going to be rough here too. um You know, I got Rasheed Rice is questionable and he just lost his Pro Bowl quarterback.

Speaker: um You know, we got our all-team quarterback, whatever whatever you say, whatever the words are. Yeah, super strong quarterback. super That's even better. And then Woody Marks is maybe out as well, but probably not.

Speaker: And now on the other side, we got Swift and and Lamar. Are both questionable? Is that right? Yep. Okay. Yep. ah He's got a little more on the bench than you do right now.

Speaker: Jeff, our stoppage time is running low. What can you tell me about Kegger versus Brian as fast as possible? Josh Allen. If Kegger gets another miracle performance from Josh Allen, he probably brought, knocks Brian out of the playoffs and all those draft picks in his pocket.

Speaker: Right. That's all I got there. Hey, Blake, any final words uh,

Speaker: or special musical interludes you'd like to share before we call it a show? It's just, it's been a pleasure. It's been a pleasure being here, guys.

Speaker: Living in fantasy land. and

Speaker: Blake, thanks for letting us keep using these wonderful songs. It really, it warms my heart. it It warms our airwaves. I'm telling you. Yeah. Happy holidays to you, sir.

Speaker: And you as well.
