Speaker: I just learned that there's a new competition to see who leaves the most voice messages.
Speaker: So, yeah, I'll hang up and listen.
Speaker: We're living in a fantasy world. Yeah, we're living in a fantasy world. We're living in a fantasy world. Yeah, we're living in a fantasy world.
Speaker: What is wrong with me? Why do I always do this?
Speaker: I'm just glad i won in this decade.
Speaker: I'm going to be the motherfucking champion of this one.
Speaker: Time for questions and comments. Question number one.
Speaker: And question number two, where's Tom? Let's see. um You know, i'm not sure, Andy. ah I've been looking for him for weeks now. um a was hoping to get Netflix for Christmas. Haven't opened up my stocking yet.
Speaker: I'm not sure if I'll get it. I do want to watch Tom Hunters, but have to have that subscription to get it first, right? Yeah, you really do. I'm checking Instagram right now, looking up some Steelhouse Productions.
Speaker: and still There's another interesting title that I saw that is coming to Netflix, or maybe it's on Netflix. It's The Making of Carmen Sandiego.
Speaker: So it's like a reboot of Carmen Sandiego television show. Really? Yeah. Does Tom have anything to do with that, to your knowledge? i don't know. Don't have Netflix right now. I'm going have to get it and check the credits when I do.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Yeah, I have no idea. Let's see. He was in Belize um end of November, which is pretty cool, if you can Belize that.
Speaker: oh and I'll try. ah A day ago, it looks like they posted from Belize again. um This is just incredible. they i don't know why they moved to Avon Lake when he could have just moved into Belize.
Speaker: like He's shooting for this resort all the time. Why don't they just give him a room? Instead of flying him out there all the time, just let him live there. People live on cruise ships now because it's cheaper. you know Does not sound ideal. Does not sound ideal at all.
Speaker: No, no, I'm not in interested either. Sorry, Phil. Sorry, Phil. Living on a ship sounds great.
Speaker: It truly does. Jeff, how are you doing this week? I'm sorry. I kind of blew through that. Okay. How are you, Andy? Good. As good as as good as potential third place can be.
Speaker: ah
Speaker: Yeah. Jeff, do we have any more callers so far this week? One second here. Suck my dick, league mates!
Speaker: Hmm.
Speaker: That was very nice. Can't say I was expecting that one.
Speaker: No, I hope Ezra didn't hear that. so me I wonder where that one was recorded. Probably, do you think it was during train rippies? Yeah,
Speaker: yeah I assume the bathroom stall at that very bar. Uh-huh. Because that's like a normal thing you'd hear in the bathroom anyway. Right.
Speaker: So it just blends in. Yeah. But you think he waited until the train was passing through? Yeah, so people didn't hear the league mates part. what's What's the movie where they live right next to a train track and every now and then everything just rattles?
Speaker: It's from our... childhood this is a it's like a core memory for me but i'm not sure what movie it was was it like blues brothers or something were they like in chicago maybe whose a um yeah probably but would that rattle the apartment not maybe now
Speaker: Hey, if anyone, if anyone knows what movie I'm thinking about, drop it in the podcast comment and I'll give you two extra points this week in your fantasy matchup. Nice.
Speaker: o Okay. It's, time it's time for the me older minute.
Speaker: Jeff, who'd did who'd the Vikings play this week? The Giants. The Giants, Andy, the Giants. And who benched the Giants? Who benched QB Giants this week in fantasy?
Speaker: um I'm pretty sure.
Speaker: You know, Jeff, I almost got to the final frame. If I could have just got out of my own way, but I do want to thank you for dropping Jackson dart at one point in the season.
Speaker: Yeah. Helped me get Jackson dart to keep Jordan love. Wow. Yeah. Brutal.
Speaker: Brutal. So how'd this game go? a My timer is definitely running. um I didn't watch it intently cause was doing Christmas prep stuff.
Speaker: Yeah. But, uh, JJ got hurt. um He had to leave the game just at the end of the second quarter. Hand injury undisclosed as ah int until about eight hours ago Tuesday. He has a hairline fracture in his in his throwing hand.
Speaker: He's going to miss this week because they play on Christmas. So JJ out with a hand injury. um The Vikings did win though, Andy. So, and the offense looked a lot better. So clearly Adam Thielen was the issue.
Speaker: um And can we go on to next season already, please? It's a good question. Do you think JJ's back um before our next season?
Speaker: Hard to believe. Like, like, will he play in the last game of the season? yeah Yeah. Yeah. I think that's what they want to do, if possible. Okay. Well, that's... All
Speaker: right, Jeff, I think we have a competition going on that I knew nothing about, but has anyone else called today? Vow before your champion.
Speaker: are we to assume those four voicemails are from the same number? Yeah. Okay. All right. The score is four to nothing. Yeah. and However, he can maintain champion status, I suppose.
Speaker: No, it makes sense. Makes sense. In lieu of the regular five questions, we're going to have a special... That's right. That's right. to have a special...
Speaker: five questions finale next week. Be sure to tune in into the show. Uh, we got something, something crazy planned. You're not going to want to miss it. No, not going to want to miss it at all.
Speaker: All right. Maybe it's time to talk some fantasy football. Um, one second here, Andy. Uh, I just got a, looks like a pretty important text message. Oh, really? Uh, I need to put on the air for immediate release.
Speaker: Boys, we are just a few days away from Christmas, so hope this one isn't too late for you. Still deciding? Don't forget to save 40% on your first play crate and a free gift card. Use code HOLIDAY40, HTTPS, s colon, forward slash, forward slash, KVO.io, forward slash, XRH8N9.
Speaker: Stop to stop. Hmm. Wow. Thank you. That was very important. I hope everyone was writing that down because this message will self-destruct.
Speaker: Okay. Now, if you haven't seen the play crate, Andy, it actually is pretty cool. The play crate. Yep. Plate as in home plate. Home plate. All right. So, uh, what, what that qualifies our sponsor for this week?
Speaker: Um, actually, I think our caller earlier did Venmo us. So I think they're the sponsor of the week. Okay. right. This week is brought to you by pull tabs and cheap beer.
Speaker: Jeff, how'd, uh, we had some playoff games this past weekend, which should probably start by, um, well, I'll let you take, take this off. Yeah, so Yahoo breaks it down between the winner's bracket and the consolation bracket at this point in the in the game, Andy, after week one of the playoffs.
Speaker: um So might as well start off with the consolation side of things, right? Yeah, I think so. And, uh, there we had the, um Lance Corporal underground parentheses cut taking on one cent.
Speaker: Um, um,
Speaker: One s cent is the proud roster holder of DJ Moore. um And DJ Moore playing for the Chicago Bears had a very improbable last second time expiring touchdown on a deep pass from Caleb Williams where DJ Moore looked like he was killed in the end zone.
Speaker: um But that touchdown there alone on that like 40, 50 yard bomb ah would have propelled one cent to a victory this week. Oh, no.
Speaker: Now we visited this one before. There was no way that Jarrett was going to play DJ Moore um at all this season. That's what he has. He has stated in the discord. Yeah.
Speaker: Why? An optimized Thunker would have been able to pick up 13 plus points. um That would have kept him ahead ah of Jarrett.
Speaker: An optimized Thunker would have won by 1.25 points. But an optimized Jarrett with an unoptimized Thunker would have seen a victory for Jarrett this week.
Speaker: Okay. In the other consolation match, we had Jamar's attacks taking on um the NBA.
Speaker: um Jamar's pulled off a 9.22 point win to move on to face the Lance Corporal Underground cut.
Speaker: um Right. and NBA played the wrong backup running back and T Higgins somehow was cleared from concussion protocol before the game and was able to play, even though he's had somewhere between three and five concussions so far this season.
Speaker: Wow. So that's that's a wild one. um But if the NBA had known, he could have bested Jamar's attack's non-optimized lineup.
Speaker: Mike sure had a lot of points tied up in his quarterbacks, didn't he? Yeah. Here I am. My options were one and a half points or 11 points at quarterback.
Speaker: And Mike's sitting in the consolation bracket with fucking 31 from his starter and his backup. Yeah, 31.16 on the bench, and that still would, you know, it was outscored by the starter.
Speaker: That's bonkers.
Speaker: Talk about falling asleep at the trade deadline. These are assets. You guys, pick a quarterback and trade the other one to me. Come on.
Speaker: But if I had any foresight whatsoever, I wouldn't be in this position. And I would have maybe offered to trade myself. But that's a bit of foreshadowing there because it's probably time move on. Yeah, should we look at the championship bracket?
Speaker: I think we should. It does look like we do have a caller coming in right now. Oh. Let me just patch this caller in, Andy. A wise man once said that you should never leave Josh Allen alone with your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, partner, because he'll fuck them.
Speaker: This is especially true my fantasy team this week, as I may have gotten to the championship. So Josh Allen, i will never leave you alone with any of my loved ones.
Speaker: Wow. ah Well, for a
Speaker: for those of you listening at home, Josh Allen scored 6.9 in a 23-20 win at Cleveland. But, um you know, for more on that, we we have some special guests calling us live from a bathroom in Beaverton.
Speaker: Welcome Oh, sorry. didn't mean to on you there.
Speaker: welcome back so sorry and do me to jump on you there Welcome back. ya Hey, you know, I'm just glad we're here get this over with.
Speaker: I am too. am too. um We just we have we have a couple of the participants from last week and know we're just going to go over two of the matchups real quick like starting off.
Speaker: We had Nicholas Cagle versus Brian Bromley. Brian, you're with us tonight um going into the matchup. How did you decide who to put on the bench at wide receiver?
Speaker: And why did it include George Pickens?
Speaker: Because George Pickens has... been picking his nose the last couple or games. And i was like, you know what? I don't know.
Speaker: I don't know about that. And then I ah had been, you know, reading up on, and on the DK Metcalf matchup and, uh, you know, the, with Detroit and like, well, it should be a good matchup. And then of course course that was all wrong, but that's why I swapped in DK. Um,
Speaker: You had no clue that DK was going to punch someone in the second quarter. ah You know, contrary to popular opinion, i did not know that that was going to happen. you didn't You didn't see that one coming?
Speaker: No. It wasn't on your bingo card. You never read the scouting report? Yeah. yeah Yeah, that was... And apparently the Steelers security team didn't die there. Because that guy had...
Speaker: because like i had Done the same thing at least once, but maybe three times before is the claim now. So um the funny thing about that, so you won by 18.85 points um and you got the blowout of the week, Brian. So hopefully you feel good about that. um How could you not?
Speaker: Yeah. um I actually, I was sweating there for a minute. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, you should have because... Hype was up on me for a minute there. Kegger's 136.75 points last week would have gone thirteen and one There's only one person who would have beat him. That's you. So congratulations. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: um
Speaker: And, you know, yeah yeah Nick left 13.2 points on the bench, um but that wouldn't have been enough to beat you as you won by more than 18. ah This does secure Nick the highest scoring loser of the season if the playoffs were counted in that competition.
Speaker: Luckily for Nick, he already had that um in week four. Wow. Congratulations, Nick. Brian, did you know that you left 16.3 points on the bench and that raises your weekly average points left on the bench for the season to 13.8175? It's interesting to me because that fact seems to have frozen you in time, Brian.
Speaker: And the funny thing about it is that your regular season points left on the bench was 13.5 points.
Speaker: Which I know is shocking. shocking um
Speaker: ah yo i would i would I would leave too. We should have recorded video there. I just kept saying things to Brian's shocked face. Like revelation after revelation.
Speaker: yeah after revelation. Yep. Yeah, well... Brian, you had two 20-point scorers on the bench last week, but one of your two 20-point scorers was not the highest in their category. You had the Giants ah with 21.5 points, but the Saints had 21.7 points. so Anyway, sorry, Nick.
Speaker: You got beat. The worst beat of the season, probably.
Speaker: Yeah, it's a bad shake because Nick would have beat both me and Cody. Yeah. Had you would the chips fallen. Yeah.
Speaker: Let's talk about me and Cody then. Cody, what did you do so right? Try to focus on the positives here, okay? We love you, Cody Craig. Thanks for being you.
Speaker: You just kind of lose twice in the season. Okay. Sucker them in. and then hope to play someone like Jacoby Bursette. ah Hey, did you see my alternative? pretty pretty I was i pretty shocked that there was no stack bonus, no Jacoby to McBride touchdown.
Speaker: anything Anything to save me here. Super embarrassing.
Speaker: It was his lowest output of the season. I'll have you now.
Speaker: um Andy, when you were choosing between wide receivers catching of the ball from a 44-year-old, you yeah um which, like what, what led you to what you, Joe, you know, like how did you get to that final decision?
Speaker: Thank you, Jeff. Thank you for asking. us I looked at looked at their target share sure from the previous week. Yep. And um I read what the experts were saying and it was hard to imagine what Alec Pierce's output output to improve significantly.
Speaker: So when you think about it, you know an extra week together together yeah um can truly reveal talent that might have been hidden before.
Speaker: And you know, it was a big miss. um If I had stuck with the team that got me there, We'd be having a different conversation right now. Cody would not be on the show.
Speaker: All right. And we'd all be better for it. who Who would have been in that team that got you there? The Rams and Alec Pierce.
Speaker: Oh, the Rams and Alec Pierce? Mm-hmm. That's corrects right. And not in Jackson Dart?
Speaker: Oh, that's a tough one. Hope he's okay. Yeah. That's all I got to say. Well, Cody, congratulations on a 14.31 point victory, though.
Speaker: I'm sorry, Andy, what? I also would have felt wrong playing dart against the Vikings, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Vikings did play the Giants last weekend. Yeah.
Speaker: And Andy, if you had optimized your lineup, ah you would have beaten a non-optimized Cody.
Speaker: But not an optimized Cody? Not an optimized Cody. Okay. Okay. That makes me feel a little me feel a little better. Yeah. Because i don't I don't know if anyone beats optimal Cody. I don't if anyone optimal Cody.
Speaker: Brian beware. Brian beware. Yep.
Speaker: Time to look forward, I think. Time look forward, I think. well it co Cody, did you have anything else you wanted to say about that matchup? No. no
Speaker: No, I think we're good. Okay. in southern vas And Brian, now that the shock is worn off, um Did you have anything that you wanted to say about your matchup with Kegger outside of that point, all those points and, you know, stats and facts that Cody was throwing there a second ago?
Speaker: that just Best team one. team Best team one. Best best manager one. manager
Speaker: So right now the screen I'm looking at says Cody has a 99% chance of beating Brian. Is that my internet connection? and Yahoo? yeah Or something?
Speaker: I see a completely empty lineup for Brian. yeah Right now, Brian has ah zero points set. But at lunch central time today, it was 116.52 to for Brian. so Cody, when Brian did have players in there, did have a slight edge. But at that point in time, um Brian had a suspended DK Metcalf in his lineup.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And I also noted that at that time, Brian had George Pickens and Emeka Ibuka to fill in potentially for DK Metcalf.
Speaker: And both of those guys were forecasted to score more than six and a half points. so
Speaker: All right. so Competitive advantage. of advantage Never let your opponent know what you're going to do next. Oh, sure. That's why you wiped the team. I get it. You have forty no idea who I'm going to play this week. this week
Speaker: So you know how... Can't plan for it. plan for so The MLB has issues right now. MLB? Like Major League Baseball? Major League Baseball. Deferring contracts. Oh, yeah, sure. All a mess.
Speaker: Yeah. And then I joined this league. And we've got a guy who's throwing his feature away. Oh, sure. Just to look in the finals. Call me the Blue Jays. I thought you were going to rip city and and tell us that he's thrown the fix.
Speaker: Bro, my my future future is wearing that ring. ring but Every time I go visit your house, I'm going waggle it under your nose. Door's locked. I'm going knock on your door with it.
Speaker: You're going look through the little a peephole, and it's just going to say champion 2025. Yeah, but the way that we order these, you never know what it'll say. It could say 2019, 2028. Could be language.
Speaker: The once and future champion. All right, guys. Anything else you want say to each other? Hey, Brian. What's up? up?
Speaker: Imagine starting the Panasonic League with a bunch of Minnesotans and two guys Pacific Northwest making it. Yeah. yeah I had a couple ideas for next next year. next year i think the league is probably going to be called you Duck That? or You Quack That, maybe? and And everybody's going to have to come to the coast for the draft.
Speaker: What else can we institute? to institute Pause for rebuttal.
Speaker: I can tell you what has a slim chance of surviving to next season. This whole notion of the A-team playoffs. For one. for one This whole notion of draft pick pick trades. right on the On the chopping block.
Speaker: Once again. again And it all hinges on on tomorrow, Brian. So if Brian wins, win no more trade draft pick. And if Cody wins, no more eight games in the playoffs. You see, that's what's a really on the line here. Yeah. You know, you know it's just good to know that know that what's never going to be outlawed yeah outlawed is whatever Andy did. and he did Because it doesn't get him any wins.
Speaker: Well, that's all the time we have. Thanks,
Speaker: thanks guys, for joining us from the cold and wet.
Speaker: Good luck to both of you this way both of you this week. Especially you-know-who. Thank you. thank you I truly, bottom of my heart, hope that you guys end it. guys on So that would just be perfect.
Speaker: You're going to you're gonna have to send us all send us all like more money than money and everybody paid. paid No splittings. No splittings. We both get the jackpot. Full jackpot. full jackpot Cut the ring in half.
Speaker: And each of you you, and then when you meet when you meet, you put the ends together. together Like the best friend's necklace.
Speaker: When our powers combine. Best friend's necklace is better. The little like best friend's necklace? friend' necklace Yeah. yeah With half our championship ring.
Speaker: Instead of the other half of my heart, it's going the other half of my championship. championship That's right. That's right. That's what you get. you good but so All right. All right right. right. Thanks, guys.
Speaker: We're going back to the show or something.
Speaker: Hey, everybody, let's cheer on the wild like that dude from the from Oregon. Go wild.
Speaker: Thanks, Matt. you You won the prize. it's We don't need any more voicemails this week. whatever Whatever award you were looking for, you got it.
Speaker: Right, Jeff? Oh, yeah. Unanimous. five Five to one. ah And that brings us to the end of our show. Thank you to our callers.
Speaker: Thank you to our guests. Thank you, Jeffrey. Caller slash sponsor. That's right. um Thank you to Play. What was it? played Play, Play, Plate, Plate, Plate, Plate. Thank you, Plate, Crate, our wannabe sponsor.
Speaker: Maybe we'll squeeze you in next week. um But stay tuned for next week. We will have the champion. on the show unless they tie, which in which case we'll have neither.
Speaker: Oh, neither. nine If they tie. If they tie, if they tie rule, if they tie, then the winner of three versus four is the champion.
Speaker: And then, and then we don't have to cut the ring in half. That's right. Yeah.
Speaker: That's ideal. That's going to be a hard thing to cut in half. It will, but I'm willing to try. Thanks, Jeff. We'll see you next week. with you wendyy Yep. Sounds good.
Speaker: Bye. You all colluded to keep me out of the playoffs, so I couldn't win a championship again. But guess what? I'm still here, motherfuckers.
