Introduction to Dungeon Master and Characters
00:00:36
Speaker
Hello and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set in the magical home-brewed world of Aerith. My name is Mark, and I am the Dungeon Master. Welcome. And also with us on tonight's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop, we have Ian, who plays the Dragonborn Barbarian Paladin, Drago. What up? We've got Callum, who plays the gnome-sorcerer, Folly Fizzlebank the Ninth.
00:00:57
Speaker
What up? We've got Darren, who plays the human fighter rogue, Robin. What is up? We've got Danny, who plays the human cleric, Claude. What's up, doc? And we've got Casey, who plays the human champion, Helena Sleepguard. What's up? Wow, that got high pitched.
Origins of 'What's up?' Phrase Discussion
00:01:15
Speaker
On last week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop. Hardly believe you stole my opening book as WhatUp. We did it better than you. I don't know if you can call it stealing if we improve it. What is up with that? We took it and improved it.
00:01:26
Speaker
yeah oh my lord that was you know if it's such an interruption i was you know energy are you on a flow but i had to get that off my dragonborn chest well my scaly chest we took the words what is the words what an up we stole from him
00:01:42
Speaker
And I'm pretty sure you didn't come up with what's up. I'm pretty sure. I came up with that. Me and R-Truth, we had a collab about it. And we coined a song and he took it and made it popular. And I took it and no one knew. This is lies. Danny quoted the original source, which is Bugs Bunny, frankly. This is all lies. No, that's very different. What's up, Doc? It's very different to what's up. Oh yeah, you just deleted the Doc. Jesus, you're an Einstein. You're an Eminem. A pioneer, Darren, is the word. Not an Einstein. Fucking hell.
Reflecting on Past Events and Planning Next Steps
00:02:10
Speaker
What happened last week?
00:02:12
Speaker
I don't know. You tell me. I can do this. Last week on The Fellowship at the Tabletop, Folly learned some hard truths. No, that was the episode before, actually. Had it. Yep. So you're wrong already. No, he learned more. He asked about his hard truths to Sebastian. Drago listened in at the bar. We blessed an egg. Yes, we did. Because there's always time to do that.
00:02:40
Speaker
We said a long, hard farewell, Robin taking it hard, duh, then the rest of the group. I didn't mean it like that. I heard you go warfing in the background. And the party came up with a plan on what to do next. And that plan was, as followed, Helena and Karsten were on their way to go and see Cassandra.
00:03:02
Speaker
To spread word that Helena's return to Goldview meant that the royal family was not dead yet. The rest of the group was going to make their way to Threadbare to find more about the holy text that is needed to defeat the Blight, and the episode ended with a tearful goodbye.
00:03:22
Speaker
as the, that was beautiful by the way Ian, well done, thank you. Okay, maybe you can do this in the future. No, maybe I can have inspiration, but I don't need to do them again. Yeah, go on then. I mean, we haven't had combat in like months, so... Sure, take the inspiration, see if you fucking need it. No, I mean, I've got combat, it's there, but you're just dragging your heels. Didn't we fight the dragon things?
00:03:45
Speaker
in the thing. That's really descriptive, I know. That was great. That was horrible. The stock magic fight with Italian Hellfire. That wasn't that long ago. That was about a month and a half ago.
Group Splits Up for Separate Missions
00:03:58
Speaker
while ago. It wasn't a dragon, it was a pig with wings. It was a healthy schnee. A healthy schnee. Are you okay, Gary? Have you been in a coma? Having a stroke? Yeah, that wasn't that long ago. Maybe it was before... It was quite a while ago. Anyway, four episodes ago, surely. Five. Five. Yeah, but because the last 24 hours have been so drawn out, it's not even been yesterday since the characters last had that right. True, true, true. But anyway, time is a material. Time is a material.
00:04:23
Speaker
We step outside of the half hoof inn after our final, it feels, farewell to Tali until at least this era in your lives are over. The party begins to split into two separate directions, Karstan and
00:04:39
Speaker
Helena start heading Southwest towards the lodge to meet the Cassandra, as in you rightly said, the rest of the group start to head North up towards the gates and out of the city, or just on the other side of the city walls, in order to speak to Funkin Threadbear, the owner of Threadbear's discount store, where apparently he has more information about the whereabouts of the holy, hidden holy text, the world away needed to be stabbed by the Onyx River in order, and then dropped into the pit in order to end the blight, allegedly.
00:05:09
Speaker
And as we step outside in the cool, crisp air of the early morning in the capital gold view,
Creating a Distraction to Bypass Guards
00:05:16
Speaker
the sun shines down, almost blinding you as you step out of the rather dim and smoky lit half hoof in, constantly under improvements entirely. The group begins to make the way onto the streets, realizing now that they are a large group of seven individuals on the streets. What do you want to do? We're about to split? Is there anything you want to say to each other before we head off or are we just splitting off and going our separate ways?
00:05:40
Speaker
How far has Sebastian got ahead of us? Well you, I think it's been about 10 minutes, yeah about 10 minutes or so since he left before the goodbyes were tally. Helena, do you know where that brother of yours is going? No, I think he was heading probably back to where we found him. You may wish to take him with you, it shows more of a
00:06:07
Speaker
unified front in your family's name. Just a thought. I mean, if I'm honest, I don't really think he thought much of Cassandra. I think he might say something that we all know is probably best kept unsaid. And you are strong enough on your own, especially with Karsten there. Yes, I'll be very happy with his support. More importantly, where are we all meeting after all of this?
00:06:34
Speaker
Well, if I might be so bold, we could meet as much as it pains me to say, back outside the front of the lodge. It's not like they were a million miles away from each other.
00:06:52
Speaker
What about the stable where you cured that man? Well, because that involves leaving the city and I don't think we want to leave the city in separate groups, Robin. Well, we're not... Well, we can meet outside the lodge, as you've said. Let's just meet outside the lodge. They're only stones throw away from each other. Well, we don't want to be throwing any stones. No, it's an expression. Have you never heard that one?
00:07:19
Speaker
No, I haven't. But I know that your only terms are there. Fine. Logit is. We will see you there. I assume you know where that is, Robin. I can find it. Okay. Well, I know where it is and I'm coming with you. Yes, I forgot about that. Sorry. It's been a crazy 24 hours. Okay. So, Helena, take care of yourself. Watch your back. Bye, Carsten.
00:07:47
Speaker
Carson gives a knowing nod as he moves away. I should have also mentioned this earlier. Unfortunately, Will hasn't been able to make it in today's session, so Carson's going to be, otherwise, predisposed. But he's going to be going along anyway,
Arriving at Threadbear's Shop for Information
00:08:03
Speaker
so he nods politely, gives an extravagant bow, a feather maybe flops down and flops back up as his head comes back up as he bows to you in an extravagant manner and then turns tail and begins to walk in the direction of the lodge.
00:08:17
Speaker
He is here with us in spirit always. See you later.
00:08:38
Speaker
The bright sun shines down on you, warming your faces as you start to make your way through the slowly awakening city of Goldview. You can see your breath in front of you. There's a cold crispness in the air and a crunch underfoot of slightly frozen ground of the mud and dirt underfoot.
Meeting Threadbear and Receiving a Quest
00:08:57
Speaker
quiet but almost a misty quiet as a there's a lack of echo in the area but only due to the kind of dampened feel of the weather around you not on earth kind of secluded weird mystery way but just like a early morning way and as you start to make your way through the
00:09:15
Speaker
winding streets of gold view, you start to see it slowly coming back to life. You see shop owners coming out to set up shops. You see interestingly a lack of members of the abciscra. They seem to be mainly, at this time of day at least, those that are involved in commerce and selling goods, setting up their stalls, moving from place to place, street cleaners, etc. as you start to make your way through. None of them really take much notice as you start to make your way through the city.
00:09:42
Speaker
has anything wanted to be been discussed on the on the journey over or do we just want to get there it's up to you i will just turn to everyone as we're going to say does anybody need any supplies by the way uh this is the best place in all of sleep guard to replenish we have replenished rations thanks to tali i i don't wish for us to draw any more attention to ourselves than needs be i think we should stay away from any shops
00:10:12
Speaker
that are not pertinent to our goal. What's this threadbare person like? Anyone met him? I never met him. His bookstore is probably... Well, it's not a bookstore. It sells all shorts. But he's probably one of the oldest people I know. And I don't know him. He's probably the oldest people I've seen. Like, he's old.
00:10:42
Speaker
Okay, fair enough. Like, look at a tree, you cut them in half, and then they tell you how old they are. You cut him in half, I'm worried you'll never stop counting. Very nice, Danny. That was very good.
00:11:01
Speaker
And thank you for aging my... Sorry, I was going to say thank you for aging an NPC so now I've got to change the... So I panicked on the spot. I panicked on the spot there. I like the challenge. You can name them. You can change them. Go for it. And he's also... You mustn't stare, right? But he's got this thing above his left eye.
00:11:24
Speaker
and it seems to just pulse and vibrate. It's like this weird green goo. Just don't stare because I know that he sets local urchins on fire. He's not or something. Is it a giant bogey on his head? I don't know. No one's told him about this. I'm pretty sure he burns people that stares at them for too long. There's two. I think they're related. Above his left eye, just don't look. Have you ever met this man?
00:11:53
Speaker
Yeah, or crazy Fredbear. Have you met him in the same way that you knew where Elfie lived, in that you don't really know and you haven't met him? I walked in his shop, I said, are you doing anything legal? I did that once or twice a decade and he said no. Right, so don't look at his eye.
00:12:16
Speaker
The eye is fine. It's that green monstrosity above it. You want to just swerve it entirely. Like if I look at my eye level, will I hit his face or will I look over him? You're tall. He's not that tall. Right. Good. Okay. Sorted. Bit of a hunchback. Claude, you weren't looking in a mirror, were you? Does that sound like curiosity?
00:12:43
Speaker
I didn't think I had a green thing on my head. He doesn't have a beard, so it wasn't a mirror. Okay, just checking, just checking. Worth asking though, Folly. Sometimes I've looked in the mirror and not recognised that was there and I started speaking to the bastard. I didn't realise it was me. To be fair, Claude, the first time I met you, when I returned from being in a book, you had seaweed in your beard. Yeah, still got it. Do you want some?
00:13:11
Speaker
No, but what I'm saying is you may have had a green thing upon your head and not known. Perhaps it could have been the seaweed. It could have been seaweed. This thing ain't seaweed. Like, Folly, you know when you set people on fire? It's like that, but green. The fire gets everywhere. I thought you said it just above his eye. Yeah, I don't know how it stays there. He might have got it amputated in the three or 20 decades I've been gone.
00:13:41
Speaker
How far are we away from the store now? We're pretty close now. We're pretty close. A couple of seconds. Mark, can I just do a quick perception to see if we've been followed or if anyone's paying attention to us? Absolutely. Give me a perception check, please. 12.
00:14:00
Speaker
As you look around, you notice the odd person kind of glance up in your direction as the Dragonborn normally draws a bit of attention and also the connection between the Dragonborn and a member of the Fleet Guard. So you seem a little, not suspect, but out of the ordinary slightly. So they get a quick double take, but then they're too busy setting up shops. They've got a business to run, most people you come across. There aren't any other kind of patrons running around like that, kind of walking, shopping or anything, yet it's too early for any of that. So apart from people setting up shop,
00:14:29
Speaker
It's pretty quiet, so those that do notice, it's a double take, but they're busy getting them with work as far as you can see. Cool, thank you. And as you start to take the final corner and start heading towards the gates, you do see the gates open and you see one member of the orchestra leaning on his staff at the entrance of these very large thick walls. You know you have to pass by him and pass by this gate in order to get to the shop, which is just outside the city walls on the left.
00:14:56
Speaker
And is there anything you're probably about 100 100 feet away from the gate. The man on the gates is a member of the Chris, but there's no other town guard there that he's facing out of the city. Oh, so he's got his back to you at the moment. You can see his suspect normal blue road with the gold trim and his staff with the glowing blue light in it. He's kind of leaning on the staff slightly as he looks like. OK, so he's clearly blocking our path.
00:15:26
Speaker
I've got one idea, anyone else? Does it involve putting an axe in the back of his spine? No, it does not put an axe in the back. I've already had dealings with him twice. I was going to say, because we could rewind two days and that's the exact position it sounds like we'd be in. It did quite well that time. It did, but I don't fancy going back to that place. What's your new idea?
00:15:51
Speaker
Just before we go into my new idea, anyone for any other ideas? I have one. I can temporarily distract him in a way that means he won't be paying attention to us. I'm quite confident it will work. I could do that too. I'll banish him to a plane of hell. He wish he never went there.
00:16:09
Speaker
He'll be gone for ages. I mean, my dream, mine's more drastic than that. Mine will present some form of visual distraction. I'll keep mine as the emergency option then. Okay, how certain are you you can distract before we go along with my idea? I'm quite confident, it depends on him as much as it does me, I'm honest. There's a 95% chance we got Madrago's idea.
00:16:35
Speaker
I'm confident it can work. I have learnt... I've been trying something with a new spell and I think I can make it work. Okay. Have at it. And Dragon gives you a look. Well, do we need to pass him now or is it on trying to leave the city? No, we need to get by him. On your claim that you're feeling pretty confident, I'm just going to turn to Folly and say, just be on your guard. Do very well.
00:17:02
Speaker
I'm thinking that, aren't I, Mark? That we have to get by him. That's how you set it up. The member of the Epichrist, Chris, stood on the gate. The gate's open, but he's looking out of the city. He hasn't seen you yet at all, but you do realize you have to walk near him a couple of feet away from him in order to get to Threadbears.
00:17:19
Speaker
Robin is going to take out of his pocket some of the scratchings and writings that he and Talia did a while ago, and he's going to look at one of them. And just for a second, he's just going to pause as he sees Talia's handwriting, and is then going to
00:17:37
Speaker
go into his pouch and take out some chalk and he's going to start crumbling the chalk together through his fingers and he's going to whisper something in eldish and I'm going to cast colour spray on this man.
00:17:50
Speaker
And what's going to happen if he fails the saving throw is in front of his eyes and his eyes only is basically going to appear a hippie trip and he's going to see nothing but bright colors for a designated period of time that will let us pass him. That designated period of time is approximately on another page, not this page, or this one. Good filler. Or this one.
00:18:18
Speaker
It's on this page. It will be four approximately, yeah, about just under a minute. Just under a minute. So. We've got there in the end. Okay. That's six seconds. Cool. All right. Um, he rolled a four as advantage and he still fails. So I'm assuming that fails.
00:18:40
Speaker
It worked! Okay, cool. So, yeah, effectively, as the chalk falls to the ground, all of a sudden, he just starts hallucinating this colours. And Robin is going to go. I don't know how long this is going to last for, so I suggest we move now, but I can assure you that he's not paying attention to us. No, what are we waiting for? Let's go. Yeah. Which spell did you use?
00:19:07
Speaker
Where do you get the chalk? It's something that I've been working on with Talia. I've had the chalk for a while. I bought a load of spell components.
00:19:15
Speaker
back on the sword coast of the monies and certain ones of them i was well it's as if you could say i needed a level up to cast this one and happily enough i feel like i had a really good sleep and uh it's coming to okay too much meta game let's go let's just let's just walk by and as you pass by him you you he doesn't seem to move much but you see he's still leaning on his staff like with his head and his hands holding the stuff and his head's now leaning against the stuff as well and you can just hear a muttering to himself some things and you hear
00:19:45
Speaker
And there's a nice, that's a great green colour there. Can I paint the picture of us moving past him like a Scooby-Doo gang? Yeah, absolutely. And I mean, I've literally rolled like nothing higher than a five in the couple of perception rolls I've been making for people as you walk past. Yeah, he rolls a three. And so he can't even hear you really. He's too busy tripping out. He's looking at these. Oh, look at the yellows. Yes, there's a thing.
00:20:14
Speaker
the reason i said it was approximately a minute is because it lasts for one whole round of combat so it takes so it won't even be a minute but it will be a series of six seconds equal to a one round of combat but it would be long enough for us to get past him and then for the time for his eyes to readjust and everything like we can assume you you managed to make past uh make it past
00:20:32
Speaker
By the way, I am a novice spellcaster. My spell save is only like 13. He did not have to do well to pass that. What spell was that? Colour spray. Colour spray. Did you roll all the d10s? Oh yeah, I need... Oh shit, sorry. I've not cast... You didn't do half the spell. It's not a save, yeah.
00:20:49
Speaker
Oh my god. He just made up the rules. He goes, hey, what are you doing? Yeah. Oh yeah, I need to be tense. Sorry, Mark. I fucked this. Death by color. Hold on. Jesus Christ. Eight, 10. What's 18 off of that? If the DM would permit. 24. Could Darren make his own version of this film? 40. Color blind. 58.
00:21:31
Speaker
68. If he's got less than 68 hit points, the spell works. Sorry. We interrupt this broadcast for Darren not knowing what he's doing. Sorry, this is why I don't play casters. He doesn't seem to move, but then again, if we're going back, if we're recording back to when you were about 50 feet away from him, then he doesn't seem to move from his current locale. You'd have to get closer to see if the spells worked or not.
00:21:43
Speaker
I need to do two more.
00:21:56
Speaker
How confident are you that this is working before I do something? Well, there's one way to find out. I'm just going to start walking in his direction. Is there any, as I get closer to him, is there anything in his eyes that suggests that he's... He's got his back to you. He's looking at the city, stopping people coming in or questioning people who come in. So you wouldn't be able to know until pretty much you pass him. Oh, okay. I'm just going to walk out.
00:22:27
Speaker
And as you walk past, the others look on, you just hear a Monday you go. You too. I'm going to keep walking forwards. I'm just going to go. I'm not going to just take the copper ring to my finger and go, yeah, it didn't work. Um, you, you might want to go to your plan B, but I've made it out, which is, you know, good. And I'll just tend to drag out your plan B on my plan B. I sent that.
00:22:53
Speaker
Yeah, who did you send that to? I would have sent it to Drago. That's the matter. Your plan B, Drago, you go. He's not sure Robin's voice is in my head. As Drago turns to the group, he's not sure if it worked. Just give me one moment. And Drago is just going to walk up behind and in a low, deep voice to the Obcrisco guy. Flea. And Cascomand. Nice.
00:23:21
Speaker
Okay, what do we need for that? 14, we say yeah. 10, so it's a fail. He runs as far away from me as possible. The staff just drops by his side and his head doesn't even move. He just starts like, oh, what's his name? Forrest Gump style running directly out of the city, like fucking his cape billowing behind him.
00:23:47
Speaker
He's gone, he's down the road, takes the corner. It's like, you know, get out. The trailer for Get Out, where the chat's running towards the camera, and then banks off at the last second. It's like that. So he basically sprints his up Ashcroft Road, up to the north. He's heading off towards fucking Evershire at this rate. He's out of it, and he's quite athletic. I mean, he's made some good speed. You can give him some kudos for that at least. But the entrance is now totally empty. There's no one stood in the door now. It's now clear.
00:24:14
Speaker
I'm just going to turn to Folly akin to Ron Weasley and just go, bloody hell. Very nice.
Negotiating with Threadbear for Magical Aid
00:24:27
Speaker
Very nice. Dragon Ball. Two tricks. Yeah. I'll pick up the staff and give it to Folly. What, he burned that?
00:24:37
Speaker
And I'm just going to hastily follow Drago. And I'm following Robin. And Follie's going to put the staff in his backpack. He's going to have a look at that later. Just as a thing, that command only lasts for around as well. So he's going to sprint for about 60 seconds and then go, what the fuck am I doing? That's all right. Yeah. We all had that then, Follie. Check those rules, Darren. Check Ian's rules. Yeah, you check his rules. Well, I thought I'd better check the rules after I made such a mess of my own. Yeah.
00:25:06
Speaker
Okay, so you get out and you, Claude, you kind of gesture towards the shop at the area on the left, which is the best of your knowledge is Threadbear's Discount Store. And lo and behold, you see a dark wooden kind of Tudor-esque style building stood in front of you, two stories. And to the bottom left corner is a pair of double-oaken doors, which is kind of framed in a really kind of ornate green color with a pair of leaves on like a plinth almost above the door frame.
00:25:35
Speaker
just next to it is a semi-circular set of windows that stick out of the shop with thatching all across the roof of it as well. It seems to have been an extension that Fonkin himself maybe has put on as it seems to have been built after the fact that the rest of the building was built. The building seems to be in a slight state of disrepair especially compared to some of the homes that seem to be surrounding it. There is a small sign that's kind of
00:26:02
Speaker
Stuck on the wall. It's not even kind of a proper proper sign, but stuck on the wall. Just saying funk ins. I'm sorry a thread bears discount store
00:26:10
Speaker
Can I ask Mark, what's in the window? What is the centerpiece of the display? What is the most advertised product? You can't actually see anything through the windows because the thickness of the kind of thatch on this is kind of like a diamond shaped thatch across the windows as well. Not that sorry, it's like
00:26:34
Speaker
Like a pleated glass. That's the one. Yeah. And it's quite thick. The thickness of it is quite large. And actually it's quite dark on the inside as well. It seems to have not been used for display as the windows aren't clear pretty much. And from the current location on the outside with the sun above your heads, it's difficult to see in unless you proper put your face up against the glass, which of course you can do if you want.
00:26:56
Speaker
Okay, I will just put my hand on the door handle before anyone else has a chance to go near it and just say, remember, it's a world away. And I will open it and I will gesture people to enter, knowing that they probably don't want me to be the first impression. Oh, it's going to say, Claude, you've been here. This is your place. Do you want to go in first? Oh, I will go in first then.
00:27:24
Speaker
And I'll walk straight in. Hello. And just before we go back over to you, we're just going to pan over to see what Helena and Karstan are up to. So you two are just moving your way down in the opposite direction, away down the street towards the world away. And Karstan seems relatively quiet compared to his usual self, just kind of walking alongside you, Helena. Is there anything you'd want to discuss with him on the way? Yes. Helena will say,
00:27:53
Speaker
So when we get there, are we going to, you know, share the loan or would you like me to take charge of this one? Well, you know, it's, it's kind of, do you really? I don't really mind what best way to do this, actually. And just as it's about, sorry. No, fine. Go.
00:28:18
Speaker
I was just, he goes, actually, and he's about to reach into a satchel to...
00:28:23
Speaker
to grab something out of it and you take your way kind of down like a side alley in order to cut through one of the streets, Helena, Ruth, which you know will get you to the lodge slightly quicker. And behind from one of the barrels, a figure just kind of pummels out from behind these barrels and jumps on the back of Karstan, kind of wrestling into the ground. You instantly recognize it to be your brother, Sebastian, as he kind of just pulls, you hear a ha ha, and he kind of grabs them, headlock, pulls them to the ground,
00:28:52
Speaker
Any struggles on the floor? A little bit in the mud? Sam, get off! For goodness sake! Didn't fucking see me coming, did you? No, well, of course we wouldn't. You left this morning. I left to keep an eye on you. Where are you going? Because I'm fucking coming with you. Right, well, we're going to see Cassandra. I thought that you didn't want to come. I thought that's where you left.
00:29:17
Speaker
Fuck, Cassandra, really? Oh shit, I've got a bit of history there. No, you know what? It'd be good to clear the air. Me and Cassie go back quite a way, you see. Uh, Carstan, question. Well, more of a command. I am a prince, after all. I've got some shit that Folly gave me. Would you mind being a doll and popping over to the, uh, to the docks and getting this stuff sent off? It's just a couple of knickknacks, paddywhacks to give a dog a boner. You know what I mean? That kind of stuff. Uh, you know, just, you know, where you get a boner.
00:29:47
Speaker
what i would never say that that's that's some bullshit you know i'm a prince i am trying to play my station like you do helen okay so change your comedic tactics i don't know what you're talking about i'm i am nothing but polite especially on the streets of my city now castan deal are we doing this are we going to slap our dicks around for a bit longer hmm uh castan just looks confused uh yeah okay i guess i'll
00:30:15
Speaker
He looks to you, Helena, and just with a quizzical look on his face, mud still on his face from being jumped by a brother. I'll see you outside the lodge. Helena gives a nod to him. All right. I'll see you later. I'll start working on my story. And yeah, it's going to be great. It's going to be great. And he kind of trippingly walks off, pushing some of the mud off, shaking it off as he makes his way back up the streets.
00:30:45
Speaker
Eleanor just shouts after him as well. I'm sure you've got lots to think about. Fucking hell, he's still hanging around with him, are we? Why not? Why do you not like my new friends? I like them, you know. It's just a bard, you know. Right. Anyway, enough about that. Lodge. We're getting a drink. Is that the plan? I'm having a couple of drinky poos. Yes, you can knock yourself out with whatever Cassandra offers you, I'm sure. But I'm not hanging around here long.
00:31:15
Speaker
Okay. Okay. Okay. So now basically point was I left and whatever's going to happen, sis, I was just going to, you know, if I can keep an eye on you, you know, and then just jump out and, you know, fuck something up. If, you know, fuck someone up, if they, they start on, you know, I'm quite this, this sleuthy one around town, you know what I mean? So, um, yeah, I'm here. Let's do this. I appreciate the protection, but honestly, I don't need it. Okay, fine. I'll, um, I'll go then you'd be in your own fun.
00:31:46
Speaker
Thank you! And he starts skipping, he calmly kind of skips up alongside you, gives you a little nudge, and just starts walking down. Ah, we sleep well, do we? Yes, yes, fine. Thank you. Where did you stay in the end? I stayed downstairs. I'm on a chair with some of your lovely comrades, made some friends, made some enemies, you know, usual stuff. I'm sure that was not far too unfamiliar for you.
00:32:12
Speaker
No. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True. True.
00:32:38
Speaker
sorry it's all just kind of coming out that's what i said no i'm i'll stop now sis i'm sorry oh god i can't stop myself what's happening to me um basically we but then she calms herself
00:32:53
Speaker
So just, I'll let me go in first. Let me just say a word or let me get the first word in at least so I can just calm the mood because she might be like, I see my way. You know what I mean? You know how it is. I don't know whether or not I should start the first conversation there, Seth, because if you and her have got history, I'd say that she would be best pleased to see you. Yeah, probably not. Also, she doesn't know who I am. You know, the family.
00:33:22
Speaker
No, I used a pseudonym, so to speak, because, you know, they didn't really want us in the city much. Right, well, you do know that the reason why I'm going here today is that we can be honest with her and to let her know that, well, the Royal Bloodline is not dead yet, and we are going to do everything we can in our power to help save this city of...
00:33:49
Speaker
everything that it's facing, or will be facing soon. The sun's slowly moving up and you're catching it in the eye and it feels warm on your face as you continue to walk through the city. As you talk, he looks at you a little bit, well that's all fucking well and good and I'm with you for that, you know that sis, but what the fuck does Cassandra at the lodge need to know that? Fuck! Well, I just thought that we didn't know many other people in this city at the moment, I feel like everybody that we were friendly with is left.
00:34:20
Speaker
Otherwise, we weren't really friendly with many people of the public, if you like, were we Seb? And I just thought that it would be best to reach out to anybody, at least somebody that we might be on good terms with, so that they were aware and they could probably spread word that we were both here together and that we have a plan.
00:34:40
Speaker
But if they fucking, you know, if we tell Cassie Bird and she, you know, blabs her big mouth and half the fucking city knows by lunchtime, we're toast, dawg, aren't we? Or are we off? Are you off? Are we leaving? We were going to Threadbears discount store.
00:35:00
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, I'm in after that though, you know, we go to the shop, we blah, blah, blah, tickle some dicks and then, you know, are we Tally Ho? Are we, you know, Bronze Storm up? What's the plan? Well, I suppose I'm not too sure of the next plan. We've got sort of a short-term plan on the agenda at the moment.
00:35:19
Speaker
Okay, okay. How about this? Right. Shit in hell, Helenie. I thought you'd have a bit more about Helenie. I've never called you that in my life. Helen. Well, I'm trying to think of a nickname doll, but I can't think of one. So he's turning a bit of a camp, if I'm being honest. So what I'm thinking is this.
00:35:36
Speaker
What I'm thinking, he's a bit Johnny Depp, what I'm thinking is this. Now, we go see a cattle girl, we have a chitchat, chin wag, you know what I do, and then you go see your mates, mates, wherever you're meeting them, and I'll fuck off and sort out a boat. I assume you're going to need to hit the open seas if you're going to see Brother Dearest over at the Western Front, so to speak. Yes. So you need, are you swimming there?
00:36:04
Speaker
Well no, a boat would be fantastic. Well fuck, I'll go get that sorted then. I know some, you know, bosun down on the way. I drink with the best of them, than the worst of them normally. Mainly the worst of them. Well that would be great. Well, good. How many are we? Are we a big contingent or are we just your little friendly friends that were at the half hoof? Well, I'd say it's just the seven of us, right?
00:36:29
Speaker
Oh shit, I thought we had like a whole battalion coming. Okay. No, that's fine. That's fine. So, uh, the, the other two, um, stayed at the, at the inn. Oh, right. Right. Right. Yeah. Lucky. Good for the DM. Good for the DM. Nice. Nice. Nice. Uh, cool. Well, that's just, oh, well, we're almost there. So we're just, um, okay. Right. Sorted. Cool. Game face on. Yes. And then afterwards you can go and sort out a boat. That would be fabulous. No worries. No worries. Okay. Uh, so you go in first or do I go in first?
00:37:00
Speaker
I'll go in first, and then she's going to just put her hand on his shoulder and say, you are good for something. And he's going to matter just loud enough that you can hear. That's what Cassandra said.
00:37:13
Speaker
and follow on behind. And you do reach the large doors to the lodge that you visited not very long ago, not 12 hours ago. And as you push them open, you see the now known long staircase moving up towards the bar area. The large open, cool air and the large window space of this kind of
00:37:37
Speaker
pub that's kind of filled with bits of greenery, stonework and woodwork, ornate all over. It's quite quiet early in the morning, and there's very minimal activity. As you walk up the stairs, you see an old fellow with a long gray beard sat in the corner. You recognize him from the last time you were here, sat in the same place. And behind the bar, you see the back of what you can assume to be Cassandra. She seems to be restocking or cleaning down shelves or kind of otherwise taking stock of her bar.
00:38:08
Speaker
Good morning, Cassandra. She slowly turns around, not expecting to see anyone else, really. Oh, it's you again. Didn't expect to see you. I wasn't really expecting to come back, if I'm honest. My brother. And she's just going to push him towards her to sort of do the greeting thing. Oh, hello.
00:38:37
Speaker
It's me again. It's been a while. And her face just kind of drops a little bit. Yes, it has been a while. The fuck are you doing here? What are you doing with her? I like her. And this is Seb. And this person, I'm going to cut to the chase here, Cassandra. The last time I was in here with my friend, Karsten, we were asking about such things within the city happening. And you helped us an incredible amount, actually.
00:39:06
Speaker
But I wasn't totally honest with you. I wanted to just let you know who I really am and who my brother really is. We are... We're from the royal bloodline, if that makes anything any easier. I'm Helena. Princess, if you will. Soon-to-be queen should the royal family not return to the city.
00:39:37
Speaker
She leans her hands on the bar and stares at you unblinkingly as her mouth slowly dropped slightly. She looks towards Sebastian and back to you. And then towards Sebastian and back to you. Right. Uh. Yep. Uh. Uh.
00:39:56
Speaker
strangely that just makes sense the questions you asking with your bad friend when you came here before were just a little odd you know too much information and i was starting to put two and two together to make an assumption and thought maybe a conduit a friend a member of the extended family perhaps but
00:40:19
Speaker
You were the right age. And to be honest, Seb, I always knew it was you. What do you mean? I'm a perfect liar. You don't know. I knew, seriously, I read straight through it. You're a very bad liar and you talk in your sleep. Oh, fine. Okay. Well, you know, Seb, I always told you that. Well, fuck you both. It's fine. Can I have a drink, please? No, you fucking can't. It's too early. Sit down. And he sits down straight away and sort of starts muttering to himself. And Helen is just going to, um, get a couple of, uh,
00:40:48
Speaker
gold pieces out of her pocket and just pop them down on the top of the the the bar and just say two of your finest in fact make it three have one for yourself guys she's going to nod and she's going to push one or two of the gold pieces back towards you and just take the one and turn over three shot glasses and pull out a rather ornate looking crystal eye crystal looking decanter and pour out this kind of
00:41:19
Speaker
brown nectar looking liquid into these three and passes two over to you and keeps one for herself and says you can give one to him if you want or you can have both yourself. It's up to you. What do you think Seb? Would you care for one? You get the eyes of
00:41:40
Speaker
The cat in Shrek, is it three? Antony Banderas, just looking up at you like, yeah, person booting. Just a little sip, you know, just a little one. I'm thirsty. She's going to just push it across the bar to him.
00:42:03
Speaker
He's not going to use his hands. He's just going to, hands behind his back, mouth over the shot glass and hold it in his teeth, tip his mouth back and guzzle it without even a second pause, without a moment's thought, without waiting. Oh, your brother's savage. Not in a good way. Are you sure he's related to you? Yes, unfortunately. Although he's been great since I've been back.
00:42:30
Speaker
You know, Kaz, when you've mentioned about seeing somebody jump off the back of a boat, do you remember telling us that? Yes, I do, yeah. We later figured that it was indeed my brother here. Oh, shame it couldn't have been one of the useful members of your family. Well, anyway, I'm joking. Listen, about a month ago, I probably would have agreed with you in fact, even a week ago, but like I say, steps done.
00:42:56
Speaker
actually more good than that. She says this quite quietly so that he's not listening in or it's not as obvious. And she nods at this and kind of picks up the shot glass and kind of holds up to you kind of gesturing for you to drink with her organ as like a salute to you before she knocks back the shot. She's going to chink and steal the shot. Glass goes down and she turns to you
00:43:26
Speaker
I'm honoured that you're here, and I'm sorry about everything that's happening, but may I ask you, Highness, what are you doing here? In the lodge, I mean, speaking to me. We thought that it, well, my acquaintances and I thought it would be better to discuss openly and honestly with somebody in my city, somebody that's, you know,
00:43:55
Speaker
We've been friendly within the past and we thought that it would be only better if you knew that we hadn't left you here to deal with all of this change on your own. We wanted to let you know, or I indeed wanted to let you know that I was going to be fighting for this city, fighting for it to be returned as it once was with my family on the throne.
00:44:24
Speaker
ruling the land and working, hopefully, alongside you all. I don't want you to think that the members of the Aquisca were winning on this occasion. We can't let the city go to ruins like this. She's nodding vociferously the whole way along. To be honest, Your Highness, I feel like they already have won, but they have only won the first battle for the city of Goldview.
00:44:52
Speaker
I'm so happy you're back. To be honest, anyone's better than the Obciskra, but the enemy, no. I was going to make a joke there, but I feel it's not apt given the situation.
00:45:06
Speaker
Listen, I've spoken to some people around the city that there are rumors, there are rumbles and grumblings about the way that the Obciskra is running the city. There are people willing to stand up against them. There's groups across the city willing to fight, to fight out in the streets or fight through other means. And I'm willing to help organize that if it's something you wish me to do. I was just thinking,
00:45:36
Speaker
Would you be willing to set that up? That would be very helpful indeed. If people out there are willing to do such a thing and to fight for the city. Quite rightly it's their own. I know that we sit on the throne or we did up at the castle and that's where we call home but ultimately this is your home too and you have your entire righteous might for it.
00:46:05
Speaker
As is everybody else who's out here. So if you would be willing, I would be more than happy to have you organised for what we say, an army. Well, I don't know about an army, but I can definitely hire some sympathisers. I can speak to people and start to mobilise some kind of resistance. Well, that's a hard word to say in this accent, of resistance.
00:46:30
Speaker
against the Obciskra. But you know these things aren't cheap and so I'm not asking for it because I know you have other important jobs to be doing at the moment but upon your return a source of income of some kind would really go a long way to arming us to allowing us to build places to hide to buy the means to undermine the city. It goes without question that you will absolutely get payment and as would
00:47:01
Speaker
As will others who are willing to help out. And she puts a hand up to you this morning. No, not payment. Just the means to buy in what we need. I don't want any of your money for this. My loyalty and your position and your family means so much that that's payment enough. As long as we can get rid of these fuckers, that's my payment. Thank you. It will be done. Don't worry.
00:47:33
Speaker
Fantastic. I look forward to your return. I look forward to working with you again in the future. Your Highness. Me too. Just promise me one thing. When we come back, we'll have a drink.
00:47:50
Speaker
Perhaps she's a big grin on her face. I'll hire out the VIP room just for us and some of your friends too. Maybe you're bad if he can keep his mouth shut for any length of time. And yes, we will. And I'll want to hear all about your adventures, wherever you've been and wherever you're going. I'd love to hear that. I'd be happy to tell them. How will we keep in contact? Do you want me to write?
00:48:16
Speaker
I just would like to be updated with how things are going here, whilst I am away doing other things until I return. I'm right in thinking you're going to see your brother, the other one, the good brother, the actual brother. So I was putting his hands up like, really? Oh my God, really? I heard him all laugh and just give self a look. Yes, we're going to hopefully trace him
00:48:47
Speaker
wherever he is overseas and we'll see how he can help out in this situation. If he's able to leave his poster, I'm not sure how that's going to go, but we are planning on doing so. So yes, I won't be back until I've sorted things out over there. In which case I won't have a forwarding address or anything like that. So I'm not sure whether or not I should write to you and you will be able to write to me wherever I may be staying at that time.
00:49:18
Speaker
Yeah, that seems to work. I know a sergeant there who procures most of the drink for the soldiers in through Clearguard, Sergeant Hantrigg, H-A-N-T-R-I-G. I'm an old friend of the city. If you want, I'll address the letter to
00:49:42
Speaker
to you Sebastian only because if I use the name Helena they will raise questions and Sebastian such a boring name no one will know and what I can do is I can well I'll do is I'll say I'll talk in terms of alcohol I'll say you know we've collected 16 barrels of so-and-so and that will give you a night the numbers account the numbers of people we've we've brought in would that work yes absolutely that's that's very good code it's like you've done this before
00:50:11
Speaker
I have. But not yet, don't worry, not in your city, but in my time before. And she gives a little laugh, but she doesn't know whether or not, because I'm just telling the truth.
00:50:25
Speaker
I'll get that arranged. And like I said, it might take some time, but as soon as I hear anything, I'll send it over. But I look forward to hearing about your return, hopefully to fanfare, hopefully to some normality and a bit of peace in the world. And then we can deal with our internal problems after that. Absolutely. Thank you, Cassandra, again, and the shield. She'll sort of bang her shot glass on the table, put another gold piece out.
00:50:54
Speaker
and wait for Cass to hopefully top her up and set up and then she can think again. And she does, she fills hers up and she fills yours up and she purposely leaves Sebastian's empty, puts the clip back in, holds up the glass to you now filled with the nectar. And she will chase and then she'll move it back. That was a nice little sound effect there, Casey.
00:51:21
Speaker
Case has got us doing Foley sound engineering here. I didn't think that was all, I don't know whether or not it came up, but yeah. That was great, that was great. Good old Foley. Brilliant, yeah, and she clinks him and shoots it back and puts it down upside down and nods ahead and goes...
00:51:43
Speaker
I'll get to it then. I've got a couple of friends I should speak to this morning, actually, about getting some contact sorted and a bit of a little group together, actually. So if you don't mind, I need to send off some letters. Yes, we must be going. Thank you. And she'll nod her head and she'll grab Seb by the arm to pull him off his bar stool.
00:52:06
Speaker
to know that we have to leave. Oh, fuck's sake, I'm finished. No, okay, bye, Cassie. No, you've absolutely finished. Thanks, Cassie.
00:52:14
Speaker
Yeah, Cassandra, call me. That's not a thing. We don't have phones here. Pigeon me. Send me a pigeon. No, I don't know. Write me a letter. So fucking get out. And just give him a push outside the door. And he kind of stumbles outside the door back into the blinding sunlight. And as you step out, some doors, others are entering in. And we are just going to spin over to where the rest of the group are. As Claude, you enter into this musty smoke-filled shop.
00:52:44
Speaker
and it just is overflowing with items every single surface and there are literally an innumerable number of surfaces in this. You can't actually get an idea of how big this space is or how small because this space seems to warp and change size. It doesn't actually, but it's just because of all the stuff. It's almost like an optical illusion.
00:53:03
Speaker
there are trinkets, there are glass ornaments, wooden, there's a hat with some rope, there's a set of pokers, there's a few random statues with bits shipped off it, there's a stuffed owl in the corner, you've got a thousand set of frames for pictures, some jugs, you think it looks like a beak popping out somewhere as well, there's a lectern, some gold items, there's a couple of
00:53:26
Speaker
There's literally just everything you can imagine is all there. And as you open the door, Claude, a small gust of wind enters in behind you. And suddenly you notice that next to almost every item is a perfectly positioned small piece of paper that's been folded in half to act like a little stand with the price on it. And they haven't been stuck down in any way. So as you open the door, like 20, 30 of these little pieces go flying and you just say, oh, for fuck's sake, you, you bastard.
00:53:56
Speaker
um hello uh you can't see this voice you can't see where this voice is coming from you just hear this voice kind of from around the space and noises of things being hit and moved and papers being rustled and
00:54:11
Speaker
Immediately, I am very panicked, Mark, and I am going to cast Locate Object in the hope that I can get in and get out as quick as possible. I would like to cast Locate Object and know if a world away is within 1,000 feet of me right now. You do not get a ping. Oh, Nick.
00:54:36
Speaker
um excuse me i'm looking for the owner
00:54:42
Speaker
It goes quiet for a second. And then literally almost bursting out of this paper is this man that looks like he should be dead. He's so old that he literally looks more like a, you've seen the undead look more living than this man. And he comes out, he literally has like two wisps of hair coming from his bold speckled head. He's got like two long whiskers, just single strands of gray hair coming down from his chin.
00:55:10
Speaker
His nose hair stretches out below the bottom of his mouth, so his nose hair is like across his mouth, almost acting like a mustache, but it isn't a mustache. And above his left eye, you can see this strange green item that just seems to sit above his head. It seems to be like an oversized wart that's gone gangrenous in some description. His eyebrows a lot, like basically everywhere there shouldn't be long hair, there is hair, and everywhere there should be hair, there is an absence of hair.
00:55:39
Speaker
He's literally about the size of Folly, but you can tell from his, the way everything's kind of put together, he is an actual human who's just shrunk with age, smaller and smaller and smaller. He has a single monocle in the eye that doesn't have the water above it, so his right eye, and he's holding a scrolled up,
00:55:57
Speaker
It looks like a chair leg. He's holding just the chair leg up as he shakes and comes round the corner. What the fuck are you doing here? Fucking shi- Excuse me. Imagine I'm in the doorway looking at the floor directly and there was a dragonborn, a human, and a gnome just on the steps coming into the shot.
00:56:20
Speaker
Excuse me, we're wondering if, and it's to continue to look at the floor, we could possibly borrow five minutes of your time, please? And I would like to enter this shop, please, Claude. Yeah, I'm just going to turn to John and go, don't look at it, it's there, it's there, it's really fucking big, don't look at it, it's green, just don't look at it! Okay. Then I'll gesture for everyone to join. Please, five minutes of your time. It's a fucking dragon!
00:56:49
Speaker
No, you can't call him that. He's really racist. And he's going to run. He's going to try and run, but obviously, like, he's shakingly walk towards Drago and he's going to pull up this. Everything is shaking. He's going to pull up the chair leg and just go to like swing it down on him. But it literally just like literally strokes your thigh, your leg pretty much as it kind of hits into you in the workplace.
00:57:17
Speaker
You bastard! Okay. Why's he stroking your front thigh? Fucking smite you, you bastard! And Draggo will put her hand out to clasp his shoulder. You don't need to smite me. I'm guessing you've had a running with Dragonborns before. I don't know who's talking about, I won't go back there!
00:57:46
Speaker
Not again. We're not here to take you anywhere. We're just here to ask you a few questions. My fucking signs, you bastard! He points up to Claude and points down to the bits of paper on the floor. Took me a week to put them fucking out!
00:58:04
Speaker
My friend here, pointing at Robin, is very good with reading. I'm sure he could reassign random numbers to certain things for you. Could you, Robin? You could do that guy a favour to get us in an advantageous position, couldn't you, Robin? I think what Claude is trying to say is that
00:58:29
Speaker
If your sign's dropping onto the floor is a problem, then sure, we can assist with that. Because he can read and stuff. Fucking interrupting! Now your place, people! Ah! Okay, I'm getting angry now. You! And he points up to Robin. Say lots of words! Pick out the paper, you twit! Ah! And he kind of looks around a little bit. Ah!
00:59:00
Speaker
He's a little one like me, hello! What's on, I like your backpack! I have one in the wall like that! Uh, Folly, do you want to talk to him? His name is Folly. He's been struck by my beauty obviously! Clearly. Ha, ha, ha! Are you Fredbear?
00:59:25
Speaker
I'd bear my name and Fred Bear by name. Mr Fred Bear, would you mind if I locked this shop and we had quite a serious conversation? I'll break your fucking ankles. I understand that you're threatening us, but my name is Sir Coldheart, the Royal Executioner of Sleepguard. Threatening to break my ankles is treason.
00:59:54
Speaker
He's gonna just take a second, just kind of shaking on the spot with his mouth open and then...
01:00:00
Speaker
We outlawed that a long time ago, so your rules are subject to requirements, so fuck off. Yeah, it's a grey area, but maybe you just want to have a conversation with us. We have gold. We do have gold. The shaking stops, he instantly drops the leg on the floor. I'll take the gold then, yes, of course. Is there some sort of bolt on the door, Mark?
01:00:27
Speaker
Uh, there is, yes, it's a large iron bolt, a kind of like, your knee height. Okay, I will just engage the lock and I will just press myself against the door, so it's just the five of us. Fucking lip! What? What do you want?
01:00:46
Speaker
Your name is Fredbear, is that correct? For the first fucking fifth time, yes! We know your name is Fredbear, and we have gold. Okay? We need, we have some questions for you. We've been told that you can answer them. And in exchange, we have gold for you. And that is it.
01:01:05
Speaker
No one's taking you anywhere. We don't intend to destroy your shop and we certainly don't mean to offend you. But we are after information and we've been told you're the best person to come to. In exchange, we have some gold. Does this sound fair to you? Drago is speaking slowly as he's really talking to an older gentleman. And he just nods really quickly.
01:01:35
Speaker
Okay. We are looking for a book called The World's Away. Does that ring? A World's Away. The World's Away. The World's Away. No, we're both off. The World's Away. Correct. That is still correct, but who name it? Yes. Good. You've heard of it. Do you know where we might find it? Yep. I do. Yep. Okay. We need to find it.
01:02:07
Speaker
Yep, alright, let me just... calculations in my head. Fucking money! Right, yep. 16,000 gold and I'll tell you the information. That is brilliant. Does anyone else want to try with this before I... What do you know about the faith of Maxima?
01:02:28
Speaker
Nothing, that doesn't sound like a made-up religion. Robin, Faith of Maxima, you insult us, Robin, with your lack of understanding, and I'm now playing for performance. Surely, Traveller from Dralak, you mean the Faith of Mixawas. Yeah, that's the one.
01:02:49
Speaker
Yes, sorry, you have to excuse my traveling agency here, sir. They are from Dralak, I'm very confused, and I will be taking them back to the hen house this evening so they can lay their eggs in peace. We are after the book on
01:03:11
Speaker
Special bequest of the Royal Family of Sleetguard. Any information that you've got would be very important to renewing our kingdom's valor. And he kind of takes all this in. I like you. You like me? What? Yeah. Yeah. I'll tell you.
01:03:33
Speaker
Thank you. What? For 16,000 gold. Don't speak, Dralak, in surgeons. Yeah, we don't have this gold that you speak of, but we do have brawn. We have exotic blood. We also have the ability to make your life very, very difficult.
01:04:00
Speaker
At this point, Drago's got up from the floor and he walks over to Robin. It just says quietly to him. Yeah. Did he just tell me not to speak? I think he just told me not to speak as well. What's going on? I don't know. Why are we letting Claude handle this? That's the worst I did. This is all said very quietly. I did. Fonkin's arms are outstretched as much as they can in their arthritic form to what Claude just said. Look at me!
01:04:25
Speaker
You think what you can do can make this any fucking worse? No, make it better. I have the ability to renew your vigor. Can you make me younger? I can try my best. I will turn and say...
01:04:45
Speaker
No, servants from Dralak, you answer to me and I will feebly just move an arm from my left hip across my body to the right of the air in a swift motioned imitator slap but nowhere near it. I'll just look to Folly expectantly. Folly's going to take, he sees what Claude's trying to do and he's just going to add to the effects and he's going to cast Minor Illusion just to make a brilliant
01:05:15
Speaker
flat sound quite a loud one as well. Drago looks at Robin and then looks at Claude and he's got that you know when you stick your tongue towards the bottom part of your jaw kind of yeah really this is what you're doing kind of face towards Claude I don't know what Robin's doing but there's a ghast on like Drago's face
01:05:36
Speaker
Yeah, Robin is kind of just going to all of a sudden go think to himself. He's going to have the same look of confusion and is then just going to dawn on him, okay, this is what we're doing. And he's going to go, forgive me, oh wise one, who's not of Dravak. I'll start picking up those papers now. Drag his eyes wide and shock.
01:05:58
Speaker
Good fucking dreado. Good pick out the paper. While that's happening, and he says that, Robin's just gonna, as he starts to pick up papers, just kind of shrug at Drago as if to say, I have no idea what's going on. And he's just gonna start picking up bits of paper and putting them back on the shelf. I'm not picking up no fucking paper. I'm not getting on the floor. I know what I'm doing.
01:06:17
Speaker
I will just turn to this individual again. I'm sorry, since the rebellion, it's been constant attempts of rebellion within the contract of service that we have acquired from Dralak, and it's just not working, but we have it under control. Mark, may I ask? I would know instinctively this person gives off an undead ping. Do I get that? No. Okay.
01:06:46
Speaker
I am in a position to renew some of your youth in exchange for information about the world away. Actually, I couldn't like being old.
01:07:01
Speaker
I want to live much longer, seen enough. We're also in a position to make sure that you move on to the afterlife. I can offer you three or four different benefit suites. If you've got a parent religion or a belief you would like to see, transport yourself to the afterlife, I can make sure that's happened. I am a cleric of religion.
01:07:25
Speaker
You sound like one of those infomercials. And he points a gangled arthritic finger your way. Don't go fucking with my eyes, that. Actually. I wouldn't dare. I actually have the power to give you an eternity of rest. Oh, I fucking speak, you middle bastard. Fucking. Fucking green barrel.
01:07:53
Speaker
He stole it. A fucking bracelet. My mother's bracelet. Get it back and I'll tell you everything. Green Barrel stole your bracelet. Fucking...
01:08:08
Speaker
Yes, I've heard of the trading centre of the old mansion, the one who's abandoned it, he stole it! He hid it in there, get it back, break it, take it, bring it to me, all kind of fucking everything! Alright, me and my servants will get you your bracelet back from Greenborough, and you'll tell us all about the world's away.
01:08:31
Speaker
It's golden. It's golden and I'll tell you about who has to go the world's away and where you can fucking get it from. Yep. It's Dawnstrider. I know where he is. You know where Dawnstrider is? He knows the book. He's got it.
01:08:53
Speaker
Oh, okay. Well, we will be back after we get your bracelet. Could you tell us any more information about the, how did he take it from you? And I'm looking around to the rest of the team. Like I am totally improvising, but going off the stuff that you'd normally ask, I hope you're proud of me sort of situation. And you're getting a look from Jargon to say, you just called him a fucking servant. We're having words after this.
01:09:17
Speaker
He walked in my shop and said, I'm taking this stupid, have I made some noise and poof disappeared and I fucking know he's in that mansion. He took it, that little fucking wizard man, he took it.
01:09:30
Speaker
right in which case it's golden and it's got a topaz on top a big topaz actually could you describe it more is it any other blemishes because in fact i can find the exact location of it if you tell me every detail you've got he tries to reach out and slap you but this is terrific
01:09:49
Speaker
Oh my god. You bastard! It's perfect. There's not a single fucking blemish on the edge. Perfect. I polished it a lot. I polished it a lot. Golden with a gemstone? Topaz. Not a gemstone. A topaz.
01:10:06
Speaker
Right. It's got a picture on it. Me and my subordinates, we will find this and return it. Your job is to just stay alive. Right. And I will cast greater restoration on him and false life.
01:10:26
Speaker
in a twinned effort so he has any ailments that might plague him are gone and he's also got a fourth level false life so he regains 20 points of healing that should be good for a day or so you see him as you cast this
01:10:51
Speaker
It kind of, the spells work on him but differently as it seems to be. What seems to happen is his horrific arthritis that is kind of seized up every single joint in his body. Your greater restoration seems to only totally release. It's that riddled with arthritis that it only works on a certain number of joints. So it's like one elbow, three fingers, half of his neck and a knee are all suddenly now really loose and he's just like,
01:11:18
Speaker
I'm all over the place. And he starts kind of like hobbling in a circle. I'm free. I'm free.
01:11:25
Speaker
If it would please, through clenched teeth, my lord, perhaps we should ask him about what picture is on the bracelet. Forgive my assertion. Please do not speak and I will gently whisper hand in the direction of Drago. Is there any more details about the bracelet that would be helpful, like any gravings or pictures?
01:11:52
Speaker
Forget that I learnt a suggestion from my subordinate here. And you still go round in circles at this point. One knee's still seized up, one knee is totally like limber and loose. He's got some diamonds on it. The shape of a diamond. Four corners. How many diamonds exactly? Five. Five shapes of a diamond surrounding the fucking topaz. My knee's feeling great.
01:12:17
Speaker
But that's, I mean, you're welcome. That's considered that a down payment for the service. We will find a bracelet and then we'll come back for more information. He pulls up his right hand. He pulls up his right hand while you're saying this and looks. And again, his thumb is still like crunched into a painful arthritic position, but his four major fingers are moving freely and he just moves them almost like a pianist, one at a time, and then turns the back of his hand towards you with his four fingers up.
01:12:43
Speaker
and then just brings down his index finger, his ring finger, and his little finger, leaving just his middle finger pointing up at you. And then releases him again. I'm going to take a bastard down the street now. That's good. Sounds like a fucking deal. All right, you're on. You get my fucking bracelet back, and I'll tell you about Dawnstrider, where you can find him and get your fucking mix of ass books.
01:13:10
Speaker
you got it thank you so much sir for your time we will return with your stolen jewel and remember that the the royal family always looks after their own and i will gesture towards my servant please exit the premises before we leave if it please my lord
01:13:32
Speaker
Claude, Lord Claude. You will call me Master Coldheart. Master Coldheart, if you please, do you know where this mansion is? Yes, I do. I do, person, it's not worth learning their name. Now leave these premises.
01:13:53
Speaker
Maybe we just need to find the mix so we've got the ice. Out we go then, goodbye sir, see you in an hour or so and I will just start to hush all everyone out. And you just hear echoing out the door, fuck off you twit! As you make your way out and he slams the door and pulls the lock across and you just hear him going wee!
01:14:14
Speaker
I will draw my last gold coin, my only gold coin, through the letterbox, and I will gesture these guys down the stairs and say, I'm so sorry, but if there's one thing I understand how to get in this city, it's how to deal with racist old men. I'm so sorry, I feel like I need a bath.
01:14:32
Speaker
Drago walks over to you, glowering. I would say down at you, but with the same sort of height. But with your hunchback, you're slightly smaller. Eyes glaring, just trying to flex as much as possible. No, please punch me. I feel awful.
Revival Reflections and Seeking Forgiveness
01:14:50
Speaker
You did good. Never thought I'd say this, but quick thinking, Claude.
01:14:59
Speaker
Yeah, I just knew we were reviving each other. I knew that he hates people from Drelak. I know what that feels like. I hate people from Drelak. I'd be like, right, I'm taking the gamble. Robin, will you forgive me? Yes, sure. I'll forgive you.
Discussion on Finding Wizard and Unique Bracelet
01:15:19
Speaker
He said this man potentially could be a wizard who we're going to find. Do you know anything of him?
01:15:26
Speaker
Never heard of him, but I know exactly how to find that exact bracelet, so we'll be fine. Yeah, no. Well done. We weren't getting anything out of him and we got more than four. I thought we were gonna get, and that's down to you. I thought for sure then. I thought for sure then I'd have to go back to Clay Peak without you because we would have to separate. I saw my entire life flash for my eyes and you guys weren't in it and I was really sad.
01:15:57
Speaker
I will swallow the fact that I just left my pride inside that shop and look at all my friends apologetically and I will cast locate object on the exact specification of everything that person described.
01:16:15
Speaker
While that's happening, I will just say to Drago and Folly what caused doing that. Before we track down this object, I would suggest we find Karstan and Helena and inform them of what's happening. They will be waiting for us. Can't you just send them a message?
01:16:33
Speaker
Only over a short distance though, I think. I can. I can do it over millions and millions of planes. Because maybe the distance to there over this is they can meet us there rather than having a trek back. Let's keep going forward. That's a wise idea. Can you do that, Claude? Yep. Of course. Let's just find where this thing is. Okay. I would like to cast Locate Object on everything that guy described to the T.
Heading to the Abandoned Mansion
01:17:12
Speaker
Okay, and what you do is you get a pen on the side of the city. So you're covering the west on the west side of the city. So you're covering the west on the west side of the city.
01:17:27
Speaker
you know the Green Barrel District, you know it's a shipping area, it's trade, it's commerce, it's on the docks, and you know that area. And part of you, do you remember an abandoned mansion within this kind of Green Barrels area? Not near Green Barrels Barrels, the central area of it, but there were some nearby houses in the estates. And one of them was, you remember, a mansion that had been abandoned for a very, very long time. And so you kind of put two and two together, and that's your calling point.
01:17:56
Speaker
You cast that out, Claude, and you kind of get the normal response to know that the message has kind of hit home and it's kind of hit its target. And you start making your way over towards the Green Barrel Estate on the east side of the city, back into the city and towards this mansion.
01:18:14
Speaker
It takes a little bit of time and on route you do actually come across Helena. You don't see Karst and you also see Sebastian that's with Helena as you start to group up quietly keeping some distance so you wouldn't be talking as to avoid any any intrusion from the obcisca. You make your way over towards the green barrel estate and true to your word as the pin gets stronger and stronger you see the red light above and you see this
01:18:39
Speaker
mansion that seems to sit off on the corner of what you know is the Green Barrel Estate, which is just a block of buildings directly owned by the Green Barrel family.
01:18:49
Speaker
And there is this one house that sits off to the side near one of their older warehouses. It's a mansion that seems to have fallen into disrepair, but shares with the opulence and kind of grandeur of the family's known wealth. Shrubberies and grasses that seem to have been well cared for in other parts of the estate lay dying or overgrown. It seems that no one goes near this part of the estate anymore.
01:19:12
Speaker
As you start to walk towards the large, solid wooden doors of this mansion, this two-storey mansion as wide as it is deep, you hear a voice from behind and turning around, you see off in the distance, cast and waving as he starts to jog over towards you.
01:19:29
Speaker
As you look up, you see one corner of this building that looks different to the rest. Instead of the normal number of windows, it's all just one big, long, round window. And you swear, just for a second, as you look up and look away, you saw the outline of some figure standing in the window. And as your eyes adjust and look back, it seems to disappear. As you reach the door and Carstan approaches you as well, you all look up and there's an icy foreboding enters over your body.
01:20:00
Speaker
a calmness but also a worry, a sinking in your heart of something not right within the walls of this mansion. And join us next week to find out what's inside that mansion on the Fellowship of the Tabletop.
