Opening Dilemma: To Close the Gates or Not?
00:00:00
Speaker
It's close the gates and save the city or leave them open and these things are going to get free before Drago and Elf there.
Meet the Dungeon Master and Characters
00:00:32
Speaker
Hello and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are live playing 5E D&D Podcast set in the world of Aerith. My name is Mark and the dungeon and the dungeon. You can never do it. You can never do it. It's okay. It's okay. It's understandable. We've got a big battle going on and it's all getting to you. You've got to be excited. I'm just overwhelmed. Yeah. We all are. I'm overwhelmed. We all are. I am a dungeon Mark. A dungeon Mark.
00:00:55
Speaker
I have a computer screen event. People turn up to listen to a story. And also with us for today's episode, we have Ian who plays the Dragonborn, Barbarian, Drago. I mean, we could rent out your services one day, but you need to tighten up. Well, a rented DM. Rented DM. Half DM will travel. Yeah. No. To go with suitcase. I'm not giving you money, man. I mean, there's bare money in there. There's so much money. Joe, you lose money, dude.
The Battle Begins: Magic and Mayhem
00:01:24
Speaker
What's up guys? Thanks Ian. We've got Darren who plays the human fighter rogue Robin. Danny who plays the human cleric Claude. Hello. Will who plays the wood elf monk Elphir. Bonjour. And Callum who plays the gnome sorcerer Folly Fizzlebang the ninth. Greetings. We're in the middle of battle as I'm sure you would have heard from last week's episode so I'm not going to do any more ado, any more of that pomp and ceremony. Ceremony, thank you. Let's just get straight into the battle.
00:01:54
Speaker
So we're going to go top of the round. Folly Fizzelbang the knife has disappeared from view. Does Folly Fizzelbang the knife choose to do anything? Folly Fizzelbang the knife does reappear and he will reappear very near to where he actually disappeared anyway. He's been aware of everything that's happened within the last six seconds or so. So he's heard obviously shouting and he's seen all these creatures come in as well. He's basically going to go
00:02:20
Speaker
So my, and just make a pedal for it and do one, two, three, four, take it 25 feet worth of movement.
00:02:34
Speaker
You had a blast at the door there towards it. I don't know what you're doing. It's a natural one, not a fair one. I have to get four for this to actually work again. So it makes no difference. In that case then I've got a line of sight on that one and I'm just going to roll to do the cantrip on that. Okay so you've moved between the tents, you've now turned around, tried to cast
00:02:55
Speaker
How long does it count as an automatic? Automatic, it was automatic. So you turn around and launch this cantrip on one of the creatures that is on the northern wall that has climbed on top of the Palisade. And go ahead.
00:03:06
Speaker
17 to hit. 12 points of damage. 12 points of damage as this firebolt smashes into his face. His face are light on fire, his glottal scream as his men start to encroach upon the camp itself. His face literally on fire, like Hellboy, he smiled. Nicholas Cage, whatever it is. Knight Rider. Knight Rider, sorry, I knew it was something like that. Should be maybe. Ghost Rider.
00:03:36
Speaker
That is your turn, Drago. What would you like to do? You are currently almost surrounded by the undead. What are you going to do? I'm going to frenzy, first off, as I feel the presence of everyone around me. That wasn't why I was shaking my head earlier. I shake my head because with rage, I get plus three on top of my damage now. I thought you'd been doing that already. No. I'm giving you a massive number. Don't forget about Claude's call to Dribbo.
00:04:00
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. So as I feel all the undead hold around me, I frenzy up as I'm still raging and the height of battle is starting to curse through my veins. Frenzy is happening. I'm gonna just attack the first guy in front of me.
00:04:20
Speaker
for a 17 to hit 17 points of slashing damage the creature is absolutely obliterated as it seems to your sword seems to pass through it like jelly almost it doesn't seem to put up much of a fight at all but you don't feel any bone or anything as it just literally just cuts through it like mustard okay and then i'm going to
00:04:44
Speaker
Come, is he on the ground here? He is on the ground, yet there is another ghoul to your right and another one to your left. Okay, I'm going to swing round to the ghoul on my right and just swing at him as well. I'm gonna miss! I've got bliss! I've got bliss! I've been blessed!
00:05:02
Speaker
Thirteen. Thirteen to hit. Wow. Thirteen does indeed hit. That's amazing. Thank you for the bless thing there Darren. Bless myself actually. 20 points of slashing damage. That creature is absolutely destroyed again. I'm going to be rolling mad damage now. This is it.
00:05:28
Speaker
Damage for days, that's me done. Damage for four days. You've only made five feet. I know. Oh, welcome to Drago, Martin. Yeah. So you're staying on that board. Welcome to Drago. Raged and frenzied. As the frenzy pushes over your whole body. It was nice down, Drago. I know. That's the end of your turn, Drago. The hailstorm surge. What remains of them retreat back over the wall, and that counts as another two saved. I know it's their choice, but they were members of the camp.
00:05:56
Speaker
and are now saved, bringing your tally up nicely.
Strategic Moves and Magic Unleashed
00:06:00
Speaker
That's the end of the pail swan surge's turn. Tally is going to complete her movement into the camp and is going to move herself up onto the walls next to where Robin is currently stood and looking out, worried, oh fuck, oh shit, oh shit, what are we going to do? Oh my god, oh my god, where's driver? At the end of her turn, Elthea, you're currently down in front of the western side wall with the undead approaching. You see them caroosic, pouring food.
00:06:26
Speaker
You see them pouring through the wall. Gap are words. You see them pouring through the gap in the wall that Folly Fizzer by the knife has caused. What would you like to do? You see him also running up between them towards you. You can also hear Claude not too far off away from you as well. Four hours later. No, sorry. I've been trying to really think about what I do now.
00:06:49
Speaker
So, Elphir will 5, 10, 15, 25, 30 feet step there. To the centre of the count next to... To start adjusting in front of Claude. Yep. Turn to Claude and say, fall back.
00:07:04
Speaker
And then shadow step to here. So 40 feet ahead. To the north, right next to the head. Scream at Drago. Drago, we need to fall back now. And then I'm going to turn to that group there. The group that broke through the wall to the west. And I'm going to crack the third level scroll.
00:07:39
Speaker
So just to remind you, quite a while ago in Clay Peak, Elthea managed to pick up a scroll with a third level blacklisted stock magic tier 3 scroll, which is illegible. All you have to do is read out what it says, which is illegible anyway, you read out whatever you think it says, and there is a chance for you to cast any spell possible
00:08:01
Speaker
any spell. So, elfia. Yes. Why not? I thought, yeah why not? We're in this situation, let's just go for it. Yeah, I agree. Can you roll me a d10? Can I borrow a d10 please? Yes, certainly. Thank you. 10. 10. Oh. Can you roll me, roll me for a d100, so give me a percentage dice and a d10. It's like a percentage.
00:08:32
Speaker
20. 2 and a 0. So I rolled that. On the 10 dice you rolled a 20. That's a 10. So that's 30. Yeah, so 20 plus that. 30, I'll hold you. 30. If it's affecting me, do I then get a catch up on me? Or do I have to choose a target for what happens? If it affects me it affects me, if it affects them it affects them. Pretty much if it's an offensive spell,
00:08:59
Speaker
I will roll a d20 and if it lands on a natural one, you accidentally cast it on yourself. If it's a self spell, you cast it on yourself. If it's a spell that affects movement or anything else like that, the same thing applies. Normally it's external unless otherwise noted.
00:09:18
Speaker
cracking this blackened seal opening up, Althea starts to utter these words that sting and cause this taste of sulphur in his mouth and he feels this almost burning his throat as he utters these guttural words.
00:09:35
Speaker
As you utter those words, in your own vision healthier, the symbols on the page start to leap out of the page as you start to say them towards you. Just moving towards your face in like a 3D VR kind of mode that reach out to your faces. You seem to be hitting the right words as they come out. The scroll starts to shake and shudder and lights on fire on the corners. As you look up to the nearest set of creatures, off to the side that are broken through, suddenly,
00:10:03
Speaker
the grind lifts itself up as it shudders up through the earth and entooms eight of the figures under the earth. You've basically cast a stock magic version of imprisonment which happens to be a 9th level spell which has entombed them underground and basically you've just come
00:10:26
Speaker
pretty much for all intents and purposes as you've cast that spell. And I'd like to spend the Kai points to do patient defence on myself just in case. That was awesome though, I'm so glad you used that. I'm so glad I got something good as well because there's a lot of revenge that can come with that but that worked really nicely, thank you very much.
00:10:44
Speaker
Awesome. So, that's the end of your turn, healthier. Claude, what would you like to do? Sort of feeling a lack of guidance about what to do at the moment, but seeing Drago and healthier in the thick of it, I'm going to, again, try and replenish the spiritual energy that was in my hand before and send a beam, a tiny shimmer of light in the direction of Drago. Drago, you have received death ward. Anytime you drop to zero hit points, you don't.
00:11:17
Speaker
You can't die right now. Is that the first time or is that all time? Once it happens once and then everybody casts a spell. Can you roll a d20 please, Danny? No modifies, no nothing, just give me a d20 please. 17. Okay, thank you. As you cast that and it hits Drago, you feel...
00:11:34
Speaker
of your ambulance start to kind of some vestibule of energy and heat. It seems to press, it's on your chest, doesn't it? Press against your chest as it's slightly, it feels like it starts to weigh down, it gets heavier and heavier with almost contact. As you look up to the eastern wall, you feel this bite of energy just release from your body and every single creature that is on the wall has been knocked back.
00:12:00
Speaker
as the master seems to have listened to and heeded your word and knocked back 30 or 40 creatures which you were up on the walls giving you just another second or two and your colleagues and other colleagues comrades and other second or two to complete some kind of task. So you could finally get through. Fuck. Sweet. Okay. That's sweet. All right. Okay. So I'll just then say, now I would like it if you'd come with me into the city wall.
00:12:26
Speaker
And I will... do I have any bonus action? What's your axe doing? Yeah. Alright, I'll move my bonus... my spiritual axe. I'll move my spiritual axe and I'll do a strike at someone who's in the north-western corner of the Palisade ground. It's broken through, yeah. I have rolled.
00:12:47
Speaker
but it's not high enough so I'll use my inspiration point, which is much better. That is a 18, 18 hits great. So he will take 9 points of force damage, and I will not use any movement
00:13:02
Speaker
No, I'll back about 10 feet but still have line of sight on Healthier and Drago. Lovely. Hopefully they've heard my call. Thank you very much Robin, your turn. You can see off in the distance Drago going into this blind frenzy as his sword becomes a glowing balloon. You can see it slashing through the creatures under the wall as Healthier shadow steps forward away, Claude
00:13:28
Speaker
starts to move backwards and you see Althea use these glottal terms to envelop some of the creatures off to the broken through the palace. I have no idea how he's never seen him do something like this before. What do you want to do? I'm going to take the help action.
00:13:45
Speaker
First things first, I'm just going to reach other hand and try and put it on Talia Charlotte to calm her down, and then with the help action I'm going to turn to one of the majors next to me and say, he doesn't know himself, he will not get out of there. If you have the means to transport him back here, do.
00:14:03
Speaker
looks confused as to what you're saying and continues to look out to the battlefield preparing his fire ball. He will stay there until he falls dead. If he comes back from the dead, I'm not fighting him. That's an interesting image. He nods at you. I know you're smart enough to run. He nods at you confused.
00:14:26
Speaker
and launches a fireball on the northern flank. We've still got three of them. On the northern flank, northern corner, northern eastern corner of the wall, taking out... The guys will instantly die with the damage they're going to roll. We know this anyway.
Drago's Rage and the Undead Onslaught
00:14:40
Speaker
Taking out all troops in front of it, and also a large... I can't see, is that 14 or 20? That's a 20. I can't see that either, 12. 20 or 12.
00:14:54
Speaker
Taking out a large chunk of the northern ball now as well, obliterating the defences of the scarred camp, but seemingly freeing up Drago from combat in that area. That's the end.
00:15:07
Speaker
Open of your turn. And then 4,000 more appear. Let's continue to approach. So at least those ones that were in the courtyard can't get to Wither this turn. And they've been knocked over. All those on the eastern front, you use that action to stand up and then climb onto the wall but they can't get up any further. The undead are in the tent. The undead are in the tent and they start to approach towards Bleakmore.
00:15:34
Speaker
The undead continue to move through. The undead have now fully enveloped the western side of the camp. They have full control of that western side. Folly, are you backing into this realm? Yeah, I'm backing normally. Folly's backing the realm, but right in the middle of a number of the imposing undead forces that are approaching. Folly, you've screwed. You've got a way to go. Top of the round. Folly, what would you like to do? Fizzle bang the knife. Please react to this. Please react. How would you react to all these people going in? Ooh, golly gosh.
00:16:05
Speaker
What's he doing? Folly now is taking his surroundings and going, oh bugger! What are you going to do? There is an enemy directly in front of him, which he is going to attempt to attack to begin with, with fire bolt, the cantrip. That is 22 to hit. That hits. And he takes...
00:16:33
Speaker
13 points of damage. Is this the one closest to Bleakmore Wall? Yeah, the one closest to Bleakmore Wall. After that, he's going to run up here away. So to the east. He's trying to run away, basically. Yes, good. And he disappears. His plane of existence. He's such a cool character.
00:16:57
Speaker
I love him. He blinks out of existence and his ears right next to Claude. Literally we're like, well done, can't we? Just disappears. It is a killing noise. This massive explosion just erupts in front of you. Your ears are ringing. You see nothing in front of you really except ash and smoke. There seems to be no undead in front of you at this moment in time but your blood is still boiling with rage as you look for the nearest thing to fuck up. Kill, not. How do you have sex with him? Is that someone coming out of the tent? You can't see.
00:17:25
Speaker
I can't see and tell. I did shout, let's get away. You can see those. No, man. It's fine, I'm sorry. I'm not ignoring you out of Ian. No, I'm not. I'm ignoring you out of Drago. I'm going to the nearest one, which will be where the main gate was of the Palisades and I'm going to fuck some shit up, as you said. But I am going to reckless, so you'll have advantage on every attack on me. Thank you. I have frenzy, I have three attacks and they're all avant-hulge. So, first guy.
00:17:53
Speaker
Okay, so I just rolled a 24 to hit on that guy. Lovely, I'm going to go in for damage first off. 14 points of slashing damage. Lovely, you take a swing at this thing and basically break both its arms clean off its body, the frenzy coursing through your veins, it's not armless, but still standing. Still standing, right, I'm going to attack again on that guy and get a natural one, but thankfully I get an advantage. Wow, my advantage was shit. 15.
00:18:22
Speaker
Does that hit? 15 hits. Yes! And 15 points of slashing damage. You absolutely ripped this guy's head off, cleaning off literally with your hand at this point. You move to the next one, closest to you. Go to the next one, literally just in a rhyme. Frenzy, that's what I like. And that is a 21 to hit, going for the crit. 28 to hit. Both hit? Well, one hits, yeah. 18 points of slashing damage.
00:18:43
Speaker
You break that one in half as well, two of the creatures have been slain in front of you. As Drago's going through, he's just roaring through each hit. As he moves, as he hits again, and he's just going forwards and breathing deep and heavy, and he's just in this wall of frenzied rage. Okay, the end of my go. Thank you very much. Drago, the hillstorm surge, all have removed themselves into the camp and are now safe, so their turn is over. Talia has made her way into camp, she is fine as well. L3, your turn, what would you like to do?
00:19:13
Speaker
Annoyed by the pesky dragonborn that still won't listen. Elf here will move 25 feet to there next to Drago, and I'm going to punch Drago. Oh, God. Okay. And try and stun him. Okay, go for it. You're punching me. I'm with advantage, aren't I? You are with advantage, yeah. If you miss, and you're up there to me the next turn, I'm going to
00:19:41
Speaker
No. Yes, because you won't have taken damage. Not true. How would have? So 20 not natural. Yeah, that hits. That one, that hits. So you will take 9 points of bludgeoning damage, not halved yet. So 4 points of bludgeoning damage. Okay, that's the first damage I've taken. I know. And then can you make a con saving throw, please? With disadvantage.
00:20:12
Speaker
Why is there a disadvantage? Because I said so. And also because you're reckless attacking, you're frenzying, and he's catching up guards, it's the last person you come to expect to do it. Oh, no. Oh, that was horrible.
00:20:26
Speaker
14. You are now stunned until the end of my next go. Damn. As you approach this dragonborn, which has just been skewing these creatures and twain over and over again, you come up and catch him just under the jaw in the neck with a light punch, which causes a bit of damage. You see a bit of swelling, but as his body just goes stiff, you drop your sword still stuck in your hand as you stand there motionless. So with that as my bonus action, I'm then going to crack the scroll of Sunbeam.
00:20:55
Speaker
that I've got, I've got it up here, so it's beam a brilliant light, flashes out from your hands, 5 foot, 60 foot light, each group of hands make a con saving throw, it then takes 66 radiant damage. Could you roll a d20 beforehand? I can do. Thank you. This is a stock magic. Yeah. The check. One roll, but that's bad and you just burn, drive it. Or himself. Well I'm aiming down this way hopefully. Do I need to add my blesters or not? You can do, yeah.
00:21:24
Speaker
18. Okay, that's absolutely fine. You managed to open the scroll up and make out its rudimentary signals and signs that seem to be written in a way that's more understanding for you than you'd expect from a mage. You managed to cast the spell. Where would you like to aim it? Now, will it persist
Healing and Tactical Decisions
00:21:40
Speaker
for the minute that it lasts? Yes, from your point of origin.
00:21:44
Speaker
Well no, because it says the car can move it. I'm iron manning with this thing from my hand. So I'm going to move it. Initially, I'm going to send this blast of light down this way. It's a five foot, 60 foot long row of light.
00:22:10
Speaker
those creatures in that line okay it needs to take a constitution saving throw I assume it's DC against my spell casting DC so it's a DC of 15 and you're at disadvantage because you're in death two of them fail the furthest one part sorry two of them fail the furthest one away passes will consider because it's right at the end of it and actually the stop magic spell doesn't actually reach 60 feet it only reaches 55 let's say and so it doesn't quite catch up on so the two closest do fail okay so they take
00:22:42
Speaker
25 points of radiant damage. Do you take damage even if you fail the spell save? It's half if they've passed it. All three of them, despite passing, fail the spell save, or pass the spell save, but fail on life anyway. And this massive radiant beam of like, pierces through the camp, blinding those on top of the sunlight that's already there.
00:23:03
Speaker
She sets bright light for 30 feet and didn't mind if initial 30 feet. Absolutely. So all the recruiters have been decimated by this radiant light that's pouring out. And then as an action, next turn, apparently it says, I can create a new line of radiance as an action on any turn until the spell ends. It's a minute spell. So you have 10 turns worth of movement. 10 turns worth of this to do. Yes. OK. Lovely. Thank you very much for that. Claude, your turn. You see this magic arc of being pierced through the cank, taking out three creatures. What would you like to do? Bucknose.
00:23:35
Speaker
Yeah, Claude's still on shore. His friends aren't coming in. He's not really getting any orders that's like, do this now, but his number one goal is to preserve life. So what he'll do is he'll turn to his right towards the eastern side of the camp and we'll see one of his fallen injured comrades who has turned undead and he's going to sprint up to the newly turned undead Hailstorm Academy member, place his hands on it and cast Remove Curse.
00:24:03
Speaker
Okay. A curse is instantly removed if he's under the effects of a curse. Lovely. You notice as you place your hands upon him, he starts to fight back, but instantly you feel something drain from his body as the undead falls from him as the blight seems to drain out into the ground as you feel light return to his body and being. He is now human again. Okay. You look shit. What did you just do? Get into the key. Okay.
00:24:32
Speaker
And he turns and he sprints off into the keep. Okay, okay, okay. That worked really well. That worked really well. I'm going to, as a bonus action, move my floaty floaty executioner's axe onto a group of enemies on the northern part of them.
00:24:54
Speaker
encampment that would buy the wagon and the one closest to the wagon so on the northern edge is going to take a spiritual weapon hit and that is going to be an 18 on the hit and he is going to take what some may call six no eight points of force damage and I'll use the rest of my movement
00:25:19
Speaker
One, two, three. One, two, three. Two, just put myself, so just in front of the gates of the key proper. Lovely. Thank you very much for that, Claude. Robin, your turn. Just before we get to that, I hate to be that guy. Do you lose control of your acts if you lose sight of it? Nice. Cool. Just stays up for ten, well, how many rounds have you done? Again, just don't want people messaging us going, ooh. We should probably check the rounds, but this is fifth.
00:25:49
Speaker
rages, rages don't. One minute, so I've got four more hours to put in this bit. Cool, I'm probably going to have one job today. I've done the war with Talia, who's now slightly calm, Tali, sorry, slightly calmed. I don't see any sign of Dragon Elf here. What I would do, I'll be seeing their mask behind that. You can see this massive beam of light. You can see them, because you are quite high up, you can see what's happening, you can see them approach each other.
00:26:16
Speaker
And you can see how they're launching this Iron Man-esque beam of light.
00:26:20
Speaker
Okay, as that happens, I probably want to first see Alfred punch Drago. I get a sense of dread that he's betrayed us, or something's going on, and when I see him turn with the fire, and I think, oh no, we're okay. I think he's still on our side. Robin doesn't have a, Robin's fucking destroyed, he doesn't have a clue. But this one's evil, isn't he? The one that is currently trying in front of you. Bad guy. You're a bad man. He's got a skull on his helmet. You're a bad man. At this point, Robin is trying to now ensure
00:26:48
Speaker
that this area remains clear. The area in front of the gate to Bleakmoor. So he's going to shoot this one. The one closest to the gate to Bleakmoor. That's the one. It's handy out here to say these times. 16, 27 to hit. Yes, it's out of the hits, yeah. I haven't docked down to cover so no sneak effect. 11 points of piercing damage. Thank you very much. An arrow slams into its abdomen and slows it down as it's faced away from me. It then turns but it is looking up now towards you. Robin, thank you.
00:27:22
Speaker
Okay, eleven point. Twenty take to hit. Twenty take to hit. Eleven point spacer damage. Lovely. As it turns around and looks straight out, you fire an arrow directly into its eye socket, knocking it back as it falls dead to the floor. End of your turn. The search approaches.
00:27:43
Speaker
The Iceman Cometh. The undead now surge through both gaps. We currently have a stun Drago. Top of the round. Folly Fizzbam and Ithio are currently blinked. Indeed. I come back into existence.
00:28:00
Speaker
And I will come back into existence. Right in front of the gates of Bligmore. Right in front of the gates of Bligmore indeed. I love your miniature. My first action is to use my countrip 5 ult. I'm going to aim for the one... Is that the same one I did damage to earlier? It's a different one. Okay, I'm still going to aim for this one anyway.
00:28:21
Speaker
I think it did. I was taking 13 damage. I think you could have moved it. There was one that I hit before anyway. Which is 18 to hit. 18 does hit. It's massively high anyway.
00:28:38
Speaker
And that takes an additional 18 points worth of damage. He managed to hit the creature's square in the face as his head is blown off and just leaves a flaming stub of an egg as it falls back. His tongue flops off into the distance as you've smoked it from this plane. Ha-ha! Finally goes, then. He just carries on with the movement and he goes up the stairs to this... On top of the wall where everybody else in the arches are currently hiding. Can I have that noises like mine?
00:29:05
Speaker
Ringtone. How far? I wonder if you take it from the podcast. What else is he going to take it?
00:29:11
Speaker
I still disappear in a big black blur. Disappears from on top of the battlements. I've done some of the battlements. Thank you very much for your turn, Folly Fizzabang, you enjoyable fuck. Drago. I can't do anything, can I? You can make a stand. You can make a save. You can make a save. No, no, he is just stunned until the end of my next go. Cool. Amazing. End of your turn, Elthea. So Elthea will turn to Drago and say... I'm still raised.
00:29:38
Speaker
Doesn't it kick out until after you've taken out? After this turn. So you're starting your next go, you finish, isn't it? Because you've not taken at the end of...
00:29:46
Speaker
So you've not taken damage now for a turn. If you go a whole round without dealing or taking damage, rage is over. Yeah. Which this will be. Yeah, so at the end of this round. Yeah. So I'm still waged. Well, Elfe will still scream at you. Just to let you know. And say, Elfe will turn around and say, Drago, for the God's sake, fall back. Yes, mate, that's what I'm talking about. And with that. Didn't that feel good? With that, Elfe steps forward and he will turn his beam of
00:30:15
Speaker
Ray and it will go that way, diagonally across. We'll consider for this point, they take the same damage. All three fail, and you saw me roll, and there was a five, a two, and a seven. All three fail, that pierces through the tent, whipping up the cloth of the tent, hitting the creature behind it, clearing out yet another path of three of the other. I will activate Patient Defense. Okay, thank you very much.
00:30:40
Speaker
End of your turn, Elthea, Claude, what would you like to do? My maths are correct. The two remaining undead that are closest to the castle wall were former members of the academy. Yes, that's correct. All my movement.
00:31:00
Speaker
To get 30 feet there, and I'll do another remove curse on this chap. There's no saying there. The curse is removed, and again you realise this person looks up at you confused, so what's happening is again the blight seems to drain out of him through the ground. He returns to human form. Okay, great. And then I will use my bonus action spiritual weapon attack again on the chap right in the north of the Palisade, who took the one from the last round.
00:31:29
Speaker
And that is a 20 non-natural. That hits. He takes 10 points of force damage. And he is slain by your spiritual weapon as it removes, it stabs through his arm and rips up, cutting him in half, removing him from the battlefield. Okay, and I'll just shout, um, I'm a damn awkward. What should we do? And my turn. Thank you very much.
00:31:56
Speaker
This is hard because I know Robin, will Robin have seen this, then drop down? 100%. Yeah, it's only about 30 foot away from you. I don't want to do this, but Robin would. Robin would shout out, I don't know what Robin would do, he's really confident at the minute, it's close the gates and save the city or leave them open and these things are going to get free before Drago and Elf there.
00:32:23
Speaker
And Claude. Oh, nice. I see your conflict. I didn't think of that. Yeah, because these are going to fly through. And there are a huge show of troops on the east. You see you're listening. A huge show of troops on the east of the front, which are broken through. No one is stopping them from marching directly into Bleakmore. Althea Robin is still north of the gate, separated by a huge force as they approach from the east. And it's very close to encroaching into Bleakmore town itself.
00:32:54
Speaker
Oh, we still, do we have any fireballs left? Yes, you have another fireball. What have we got? We've not used any, have we? We've used two. We've used one over there. That's one. I've only got one. You've got two left. That was, er, that was me. Mizzio Fuzzy. You've got two fireballs left. Folly. Folly. Do it. Burn it down. Do it. OK, Robin would give the call for a fireball. He would, he would probably
00:33:18
Speaker
do the wrong thing here and try and save his friends as much as he could as opposed to giving the call to close the gates and he would want the fireball to land away from the walls so we're not about to... well they're stone walls anyway aren't they? No, these are wooden walls. These are your own stones. Yeah, these fuckers happen. Before it's closest to the east. That's where he'd want the fireball to go.
00:33:43
Speaker
one pass out of all that. I'm glad I'm not like an actual, I'm not even kidding. Glad you're not an actual player. I am. That is how many d6s of damage, d8s of damage? It's like say d6s isn't it? d6s is a standard of eight d6s.
00:33:59
Speaker
So it's the fire but you call out for another fireball from one of our mages and they fire off the eastern flank wiping out almost all forces on that eastern side but also obliterating the wall of the palisade. That was a necessary sacrifice unfortunately.
00:34:17
Speaker
Two of the camp's tents and knocking a massive hole in itself. We have three entry points. Three entry points into the camp, as the camp seems to almost have been totally obliterated at this point. But as Robin would have rightly noted, stopped them coming into the city itself, giving other players another turn or two to do what they need to do. Thank you very much, Robin, for that. Robin would be clenching his fist, knowing that at some point the decision will have to be made to cut his friends on the outside. The undead.
00:34:47
Speaker
now move directly into the camp, pushing through. If they pass through,
Assessing the Aftermath and Planning
00:34:53
Speaker
you've got something. It doesn't say, it just says, I've never been able to fight it out through now. I can create a new line of radiance to know the beam goes. Because basically, as long as the spell persists, I can create new beams, so it's just one burst. But it's useful for our measuring. Your radiant flame doesn't get opportunity attack. The spiritual weapons. Spiritual weapons.
00:35:22
Speaker
Just assume. Are holograms working? You could, like, digit the update. Oh, you know. Yeah. Once we get them fixed, though, that would be great. Just to get it altered, isn't it? Yeah, moving to a new location. It'll work. It'll work. So number of the undead that are broken through, Folly Fizzlebang, the ninths break in the western side of the wall, seems almost to be ignoring Althea and Drago going for a bigger target, going for the town of Blythe-Morsano. It's like broken through from the west northern side of the wall, directly corralling. I could get this word wrong. Corralling? Corralling? No, just war-brawling.
00:35:52
Speaker
They say they're running. I say that. They're running. Trudging. Trudging. No, it was quick though, for sprinting down the Western Flak inside the camp and out towards the doors of Blitmore, trying to make their way into the camp. That is their turn, top of the round. No, go with Folly, Fuzzabang, the ninth. Oh, they are going to attack you. Oh, geez, I'm sorry. And that would be a disadvantage because you've got basically the banks. 13 to hit your own class. Miss. No, 14 to hit your own class. Miss. 15 to hit your class.
00:36:20
Speaker
That's still going to miss, man. That's 13 against Rompos. Miss. Okay, so that misses. Both take massive swings. Your Kai energy seems to emanate out from your body as you almost made your exile and know where they're going to attack before they even move. And both attacks manage to hit. Too close as you have managed to climb over the cart, which did count as difficult terrain. And are on the other side of it now, trying to get towards you. That's the end of their turn. Folly fizzlebanger ninth. What would you like to do?
00:36:47
Speaker
Erm, well I popped back into existence again. Now can I obviously see everything now on top of these battlements? You can see everything from the 30 foot battlements very soon, you can. Do you have the same thing as Gimli? Where you all are there going? What's happening down there? Well say for argument's you can't make your way up. Someone getting me yellow pages. You blink yourself on top of the edge. Oh yeah, I can put on something. Oh jeez, what?
00:37:13
Speaker
Now I'm just going to try and keep me in control down to a minimum, I think, and I'm just going to try and attack one of these things with Fireball. So I'm going for these two creatures that are just to the back of Elfia. What's the range? I'm trying 120. Oh, nice! So I can just go Fireball.
00:37:32
Speaker
Bolt. I have a bolt. I thought you were about to like, broken arrow this. Just saying though, Firebolt is 150 feet. Wow. But I'll go for Firebolt, which is fine. That is 14 to hit. That hits? Actually no, I keep getting much of a modifier. The modifier's probably like a plus six, so you're talking about 20 anyway. I'm not telling you what my modifier is if you think it's plus six.
00:37:59
Speaker
That is 17 points of damage to that one. The first one in front of Elfeir after Elfeir has managed to bat away its attack, it just gets blown out of existence. You don't even see where it came from, Elfeir. But it just disappears. You can see it. Bit of fire. And I stay there. I stay there. Lovely, thank you very much. I have no effect on you. Drago.
00:38:17
Speaker
I'm back and I'm out of rage. You are no longer raging. No longer stunned. The wave of anger that came over you subsides and you feel yourself start to calm down as you look around and see the destruction and carnage that is now around you. You see Elthea fighting off just two in front of you, fighting off a number of the undead and you look around and you can see no one else except the undead that seemed to surround you. I'd like to take all three attacks onto Elthea. Okay, we're almost at the middle.
00:38:48
Speaker
I couldn't believe it. The frenzy's gone because of the raging. No, the frenzy stays I think. Now we're going by the rage. You're now exhausted. I don't know anything about my class. I'm not exhausted. Wow. I'm glad you guys are here for me to teach me. Teach me my ways.
00:39:05
Speaker
I'll fuck it, I'll fuck that. Right, okay, so I ain't got friends, the over. Number one, you've returned to your normal state, but you have a point of exhaustion. What's that doing? Disability checks at this level. And you may or may not have heard me say, run away. I didn't, I was still raging, but... I see people attacking you. I know you attacked me though, right? Yeah, um, not for you. Are you fully aware that I, in your rage, are you aware that I punched you in the neck? I think so.
00:39:28
Speaker
You don't know, you don't know anything. You just know.
Closing the Gates and Reinforcements Arrive
00:39:30
Speaker
Really? He came blindside to you, he was from behind. I've just rolled a natural one, so I'm assuming that you just stopped being the ability to move. Okay. You actually know it came from Elfie. Cool. So, I come to... I'm very allergic to that. I literally just did roll. Oh, that's fine. Um, okay. And I'm taking my surroundings in. You guys are gonna hate me. Everything's burning. Everything's burning. Elfie's been attacked. I think he's going to rage again.
00:39:58
Speaker
I'm exhausted. Fuck it, no. I'm gonna step forwards and bring my sword down on the person in front of Elthea. Sword's feeling a little bit heavy because I'm exhausted, but it's just for... How is a 26? 26 hits. Lovely. 12 points of slashing damage. Okay, thank you very much. Take 12 points of slashing damage. Oh, I'm gonna tank twice. You can indeed. I'm going for it again.
00:40:22
Speaker
That is a 28 to hit. Great hit. Rolling like a king now. 14 points of slashing damage. The creature is absolutely destroyed as you bring a sword down. Out of rage. You are now... What's that look? You have the rest of your movement. I just wanted to say, Rob Downey Jr, exhaustion for you ain't nothing. Punchback. You've also got the rest of your movement. Can't be an uptick. I haven't, no. Okay.
00:40:48
Speaker
Cool. You stay in there. At the moment, yes. Thank you very much. I have reasons. End of your turn. The Hills Thompson show. Is this dude moving? Who's now a Hills Thompson? Yeah, sorry. He moves straight back into camp. And is there any shout back from Gilda Artcord when I shouted out to her about what to do next? You hear a shout come down off the wall. Get inside. Get inside the gates. We need to close the gates before they reach us.
00:41:14
Speaker
until you hear from him. Tarly is already inside, Elthea your turn. You now see Drago at a calmness return to him. Oh yeah I'm not. This is methodical, this isn't the rage you saw earlier. He's skewing the creature in front of you, what would you like to do? Elthea turns over his shoulder to Drago and says Drago we need to get back to the city now, we're the only ones out here. And he will then move
00:41:38
Speaker
to here and I'm going to cast my beam across those cleaves. I'm trying to clear this path as Stravo sees this magical light of holy light blasting off his fists. Ah Matt, I'm not watching you.
00:41:54
Speaker
The back smoke of the battlefield fills the air and the lungs of those of you who are on the parapets. As the figures of a dragonborn and an elf start sprinting towards the gates of Bleakmoor, the forces of undead begin to pour over the broken, battered, smoldering and smashed remains of the skyd camp. Their screams echo and over the now empty remains of said camp. As dragon and elfish sprint through the gates, throwing their bodies onto the mud and safely behind the walls, the gates slam shut.
00:42:20
Speaker
and the final few ghasts that were on the other side of the wall have made it into the Tower of Blykmoor are slain by other members of the Hailstorm Surge.
00:42:28
Speaker
You hear the voices of the undead slam into the gate. A deafening chorus of howls leech through the beaten wooden defences. The scratching of the ghasts' massive claws make the gate vibrate as they continue to batter away with a ferocity unmatched to anything you have experienced before. Their speed and violence seem to be spurred on from some outside entity.
00:42:51
Speaker
As you turn, you see the archers on the parapets fire a defensive volley and move quickly onto the other parts of the battlements to secure the walls and the relief that now spent archers. As a strange quiet no one speaks, only actions remain. Fate, it seems, has already been decided in the minds of these soldiers.
00:43:15
Speaker
The grind begins to rumble, lightly at first, but after a minute the puddles of sweat and blood on the mudded courtyard begin to ripple quicker and quicker, louder and louder until the rumble seems to emanate through your body. The scratching and screaming stops with a loud thud, and silence ensues. A call from above shouts down, open the gate!
00:43:45
Speaker
As the gates open, a sea of ghast's bodies collapse into the courtyard. A single black horse with a rider saunters in, stepping over the hewn corpses on the mudded floor. Behind this figure you see lime upon lime of similar riders filling the skyd camp, armed with dual bastard swords, all pristine, all sheathing their weapons. The black horse out in front is panting but calm, and wet specks of sweat adorns this impressive steed. The horse halts.
00:44:15
Speaker
and the rider pulls back their torn black hood to remove their helmet. A black metaled helm with a single white plume is tucked under the black chainmail and plated arm of an impressive looking tiefling. His horns seem to have been bent back to fit under the helmet. On the right side of his face his usual purple, dark purple skin is blistered for some previous incident. His white hair is matted and he takes a hand to wipe this and the swept back of his face.
00:44:44
Speaker
Where is he? He calls home. Our quad. And that's where we can end it. It's absolutely... Of the fellowship. Of the table's up. We're alive. We're alive. We're alive. We're exhausted. Oh my god. I didn't think you were gonna... I thought you were dead. If driver refused, I would have left him to die.
00:45:08
Speaker
And he would have gone down a warrior's death, I'd be happy with that. Barbarian style. Yeah, Alice Shader. Pulling a Shader. That's all I was doing.
Light-hearted Conclusion and Farewell
00:45:18
Speaker
So forever, Shader will throw shade on you because you can't better his death. I'm okay with that. If I can have anything close to that, I'd be happy. Anyway, he's not. He's alive, he's well, he's fair to his face.
00:45:31
Speaker
No, try not to say shit or stuff like that. I was going to say shit, he's in the ground. Not even in the ground. He's eviscerated. No, he's in your pocket. No, he's in my pocket. He's in your pocket. What is in my pocket? I don't like that idea. What is he? Aww, conspiracy theory. Thank you very much for listening to this episode, guys, and making us a part of your everyday week. But he's the one, he's the, the, the magistrate that deals with all of us and, and been upgraded. Does a great job. Thanks, man. I think he does a great job. He works really hard on this. 00:47:12
