Introduction and Episode Overview

Space, the final frontier, or at least that's what they say. And is this person a jerk? We're gonna get into it. Let's get it.
00:00:19

Rate, review, like, comment, share. Share with your friends, share with your family, hell, even share with your enemies. On today's episode, it's the sibling happy hour. I'm here with my sis, Jay Andrea. We're going to be dilly-dadding a little bit, and then we're going be talking about space.
00:00:55
Speaker
And then we're going to be talking about swimming pools in the backyard. I'm going to explain later, but that's enough of the intro.

The $10 Billion Lakers Sale

00:01:01
Speaker
Let's get to the show.
00:01:10
Speaker
What up, sis? What up, brother? I can't call it. I can't call it. Something... I want to get to something that you just brought up, and I'm going to get to that.
00:01:20
Speaker
Okay. But just now, before we hopped on, it was just announced the Los Angeles Lakers are being sold for $10 billion. the largest- Billion would it be. Billion would it be. It's the largest purchase of a franchise. And get this, the person that's paying the $10 billion only gets 85% of it. He don't get the full 100%. The Buss family, the family that's owned the team since 1979, which their father, by the way, Jerry Buss, brought it for like $67 million. $67 million turned into $10 billion over 45 years. 45, 46 years. ain't bad investment.
00:02:03
Speaker
and Not bad. Not bad, right? They still maintain 15%, so they get $10 billion and still get to own a piece team.

Trump Mobile: A Dubious Venture

00:02:14
Speaker
I don't know what that... don't know what that's like. What? for First of all, to just have excess money?
00:02:22
Speaker
To just be that... It's not rich. That's wealthy. Like, to just be that wealthy... Well, to be that wealthy that the person that bought it is also the owner of the Dodgers, also the owner of the l L.A. Sparks, and also owns an F1 thing.
00:02:41
Speaker
So he bought he he was like, man, I got about $10 billion in my back pocket. Let me go ahead and buy the Lakers real fast. Right. That doesn't even make sense to me. Like, do you understand how much 10 billion would have be is like how many zeros are behind that 10?
00:02:56
Speaker
Like, this is stupid money. And he owns several teams. So a billion dollars is one million million.
00:03:09
Speaker
Yes. but Okay. Is one million million? That's yeah one billion. Take one million. Yes. And get one million of those.
00:03:23
Speaker
Yes. And that's one billion. That's just one billion. That's just one billion. He paid ten of them thanks. Ten of them thanks. Now, I'm sure, they like, it's, you know, he leveraging certain stuff or whatever.
00:03:36
Speaker
But still, he got so much money that he could be like, man, you know what? I think I got about $10 billion dollars in my coat pocket real fast. Let me go ahead buy the Lakers. Right.
00:03:47
Speaker
ah I... Okay. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I mean, hey, look, it must be nice to have that type of money. I know what I would do with that type of money. I would give the majority of it away because God knows I don't need to have that type of money. First of all, God has known not to make me rich because your true personality comes out when you have money.
00:04:09
Speaker
And my true personality. Absolutely right. And my true personality is... a jerk. And so therefore it would just be magnified. Right.
00:04:20
Speaker
It'd just be magnified. It would be magnified one million by one million times. Yeah. Wow. million dollars. But that's not what you wanted to talk about.
00:04:32
Speaker
you You brought up something that I was like, i didn't even hear anything about. Oh, wait a minute. I did hear something about it. but But go ahead and tell the people what you were what you brought up earlier. Well, we got another grift from the grifter in chief.
00:04:48
Speaker
ah So on ah June 16th, so two days ago from when we're filming this, the Trump Organization...

Tucker Carlson vs. Ted Cruz on Iran

00:04:56
Speaker
via T1 Mobile LLC under a trademark license, introduced a mobile virtual network operator service and a gold T1 smartphone. and This is Trump Mobile.
00:05:10
Speaker
And it's as dumb as it sounds. so So it the for the pricing and the plan, it's called the 47th plan because he's the 47th president. 45th and 47th.
00:05:25
Speaker
Right. So the cost is $47.45 a month. Okay. Well, I mean, that's not a bad deal. For unlimited talk, text, and data. No contract, no credit check. okay The phone costs $4.99. Oh, okay.
00:05:39
Speaker
With pre-order available now and shipping expected in August or September. i do not believe that that is the case. going to be like them big ball of shoes.
00:05:51
Speaker
Yeah, I don't think. OK, so they the the dumbest part of it, well, all of it's dumb, but the dumbest part of this is it's marketed as American designed and built.
00:06:04
Speaker
Here's the thing. We do not manufacture phones in America. We don't have the infrastructure for it. We don't manufacture phones in America. This is definitely going to be a device that is likely rebranded from an existing Chinese made model.
00:06:23
Speaker
That is, this is this is not going to be made in the USA because we don't have that. It's going to be rebranded in the USA. It'll be rebranded in the USA, like all of his things. So, I mean,
00:06:38
Speaker
it
00:06:40
Speaker
He's made so much money while president. Wow. you You know what I'm saying? I think somewhere I heard like $600 million. Hey, look, there ain't no reason to be president if you ain't gonna make some money.
00:06:59
Speaker
No, that's actually not why you should be president. I mean, look... I agree, but still.
00:07:11
Speaker
So another issue with this is, i don't know if you remember, but the FCC, which used to be an independent body, is no longer independent.
00:07:22
Speaker
Right. So. What you mean? Yeah. So because of Trump. And isn't that convenient that now that the the federal government regulates the FCC, that he is now in the telecom business.
00:07:36
Speaker
Hmm. That's interesting. So yeah, I expect, you know, plenty of MAGA people to drop $4.99 plus tax on this stupid, stupid endeavor. Like y'all bought his plate and his Dogecoin Bitcoin. I don't know what the difference is.
00:07:53
Speaker
Like y'all bought his sneakers and the watches. I forgot about the sneakers. I forgot about the ugly gold sneakers. I forgot about those. Yeah. So this would just be another thing that y'all will buy.
00:08:06
Speaker
I say y'all, but we know good and MAGA people are probably not watching this show unless they're hate watching. Hate watching. Yeah. Yeah.

Space Tourism: A Billionaire's Playground?

00:08:14
Speaker
So yeah, if you hate watching, I'm talking to you. You probably gonna buy it.
00:08:18
Speaker
And it's dumb. So go ahead. But I just thought that was the dumbest thing. And, and, and, uh, The phone looks terrible. I don't know if this is actually going to be the phone or if this is just they took a... ah They actually look like they photoshopped... That wouldn't put it past them....a iPhone, but like they changed the camera. It's definitely the three cameras, but I think they made them smaller so that it people don't know it's an iPhone, and then they...
00:08:52
Speaker
have it gold with a T on the back and the American flag embossed on the back of it. But I'm pretty sure this is honestly an old iPhone. It's the iPhone 4, the 4S.
00:09:04
Speaker
No, because it's got the three cameras on it. So I, yeah, I mean, if you look at this, looks like an iPhone that they might have Photoshopped a little bit so that they wouldn't get sued. But that's so I don't know that this is what the phone is actually going look like.
00:09:19
Speaker
But y'all going to buy it. yeah Y'all gonna buy it. did Have you gotten a chance, speaking of MAGA, have you gotten a chance at all to see Ted Cruz on Tucker Carlson?
00:09:32
Speaker
I did not. Please tell me ah about that. What world are we living in? Several of my friends had posted it on Instagram and I was thinking the same thing. What world are we living in where Tucker Carlson is a voice of reason.
00:09:49
Speaker
So he is killing Ted Cruz. He's like, he has one question he asked Ted Cruz. He was like, hey, so Ted, um how many people, how many people live in Iran? He was like, I don't know. And he was like, don't you think you should know as you're calling for us to overthrow the regime there?
00:10:05
Speaker
No, I mean, I don't need to know this. He was like, it's 92 million. He was like, what are the racial makeup of Iran? i was And Ted Cruz was like, don't know, some Persians, some Sheiks. don't know. They tried to kill the president. he was hinted Tucker Carlson was like, wait a minute.
00:10:22
Speaker
Shouldn't you know these things? Shouldn't you know these things as a senator and somebody calling? And Ted Cruz didn't have an answer for. Also, he was like, it Tucker Carlson was like, so so why why do you think that we need to destroy ah Iran or defend Israel?
00:10:40
Speaker
And and ah Ted Cruz was like, because it's in the Bible. He was like, it's in the Bible to command to be the defender of Israel. and And Tucker Carlson was like, where is that?
00:10:51
Speaker
And Ted Cruz was like, well, I don't know. you got the You got the Google. Go ahead and bring it out. First of all, he said, you got the Google. The Google. The Google. Go ahead and bring it out. And Tucker Carlson was like, it's in

Are Reusable Rockets Safe?

00:11:02
Speaker
Genesis. And I was like, yo, know he's killing them right now.
00:11:05
Speaker
it it it You need to, everybody that's listening to this, don't stop listening and watching. But after this, Go ahead and watch clips of it. If you can watch the whole interview, this is the only time I'll say, go watch some Tucker Carlson.
00:11:18
Speaker
He destroys Ted Cruz. Yeah, so I ah i came to a ah thought. I didn't see that interaction between Tucker Carlson and and Ted Cruz, but I do know that, I almost maybe threw up in mouth a little bit, there is there's the MAGA coalition coalition, because they're isolationists, that do not want The US to get involved in this conflict between Israel and Iran.
00:11:48
Speaker
And you got people like Ted Cruz. Who. do want to support ah Israel militarily offensively. Like we're supporting them defensively, like but we're not supporting them offensively.
00:12:03
Speaker
And so, yeah, almost threw up in my mouth a little bit because like, I agree with Tucker Carlson and Steve Bannon and Marjorie Taylor Greene that we shouldn't do it.
00:12:14
Speaker
Yes, what world are we living in? What world are we living in when they're the voice of reason? That is insane. They're the voice of reason to the people who are... In this specific... And again, don't agree with them ideologically. I'm not an isolationist.
00:12:34
Speaker
But the end result ah is us not getting involved offensively I agree. Oh my God.
00:12:45
Speaker
Hey, look, and broke clock i write twice right a blo ah broke ah broke clock is clock is right. Goodness gracious. It's hadn't even it's because I'm tired.
00:12:56
Speaker
A broke clock is right twice a day. It is. For two minutes of a 24-hour day, it's right. And that's what we're dealing with here. They're right once.
00:13:09
Speaker
once and let's not let it go to their head. Oh, they look, that's as much praise as we go get them on this show. Yeah, because I ah like it literally I can taste the bile on the back of my throat. That's one of the worst things ever. Oh, speaking of tasting bile, I don't know why this just well, it popped in my head because you just said something.
00:13:29
Speaker
That's literally the worst feeling in the world is swallowing your throat because you know how sometimes you might burp a little bit because the acid reflux. Oh, the acid. yeah And it'll come up and you'd be like, and you'd swallow it before you even realize it. And like, oh, it's burning.
00:13:43
Speaker
this And you got to go get mouthwashed because you don't want your breath to stink. Yeah, but I mean, it's acid reflux. It's not vomit. Well, it's bile. Yeah. Yeah. Bile is vomit.
00:13:55
Speaker
Yeah. Is it? I think so. don't know. Well, you vomit bile. Do so you? You can vomit bile. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that's true. Yeah. I know um i know what it some I'm talking about sometimes.
00:14:10
Speaker
Okay. Okay. You know what? I never really thought about it. And this is like a gross topic. It is really gross. To talk about right now. But I've never like thought about what is the definition of vomit? I don't know. Well, we don't need to get any specifics. We don't. But you almost vomited on yourself. Did you agree?
00:14:29
Speaker
Yeah. You agree with Marjorie Taylor Greene. That's your bestie now. No, absolutely not. Let's not put that out in the universe. That's your bestie. Same state y'all representing. Oh, no. Y'all representing Georgia.
00:14:42
Speaker
I don't live in that district. You're not that far from it. well I'm far enough. We ain't got nothing to do with me. I didn't vote for her. I didn't even get a chance to vote against her.
00:14:54
Speaker
there But but

Suborbital vs. Orbital Flights: Worth It?

00:14:56
Speaker
well let's let's go back to the first topic. If you had $10 billion, what would you do? I often think about if I had a bunch of money, what would I do?
00:15:07
Speaker
Yeah, i brought probably like you said earlier, I would give a lot of it away. Because at a certain point, you get to like a certain dollar amount and it's like it just doesn't matter once you go past that amount. Like there's only so much that you can accumulate.
00:15:23
Speaker
Whereas like okay, I've accumulated all the things that I wanted and that I needed and I helped my family and my friends and this, that. Okay, now anything I have, it's just exit. Like I would just, yeah it doesn't matter if I have it or if I don't.
00:15:41
Speaker
Once I buy island in my own private plane, like what else is there? Just gonna contribute to climate change. have like Ain't no EV planes.
00:15:52
Speaker
Look, I need a private plane with my own private bathroom that got a full bathroom in there, shower and everything included. Why do you need that?
00:16:03
Speaker
Well, if I'm gonna be flying around, I'm gonna need that. You know how long a flight from here to Hawaii is? I think might take a yacht everywhere. i think i might take a yacht everywhere Okay, so you think that's good for the environment too?
00:16:17
Speaker
don't know. I feel like it's better than a plane. I don't think so. You're tearing up the seas. You're not tearing up the seas. That's not a thing. it Well, it might be. I don't think so. All right, this has gone off the rails, ladies and gentlemen. Well, speaking of the seas and the environment, we're going to get into space. We're going to get into that next.
00:16:48
Speaker
Okay, Jay, speaking of having so much money you don't even know what to do with, space tourism. Dumb. yeah Okay. I don't know if it's dumb. Hold on now.
00:16:59
Speaker
No, go ahead. Go ahead. Space tourism is ah rapidly evolving from a luxury for the ultra-rich to a more accessible, though still premium, experience.
00:17:14
Speaker
What is it? Well, there has been a market trend. There's been a rapid expansion. The global space tourism market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 15 to 25 percent from 2025 to 2030. What does that mean? I don't know. That's just what it says.
00:17:30
Speaker
With estimated 250 to people expected to travel into space and two and twenty five alone By 2030, the industry could reach a valuation of 10 to 15 billion dollars, what the Lakers sold for, driven by technological advances, reusable rockets and increased consumer interest.
00:17:49
Speaker
so missac me right there huh okay So before we get into the different experiences, what do you have to say about this? What you mean reusable rockets? the Hold on. Hold on. and now Now, wait a minute.
00:18:02
Speaker
That bad boy is supposed to burn up and then a little capsule falls into the ocean. That's not true. And a little capsule is supposed to fall into the ocean and the end ember rest of the thing just flunked out in space or something. 1960s. There was, in the 1980s, what was it? this The Voyager was flown several times before it blew up.
00:18:26
Speaker
ah Exactly. We have not mastered... It was going in and out of space several times before it blew up and we have mastered it. We have. not We haven't mastered the this planet yet for us to be using reusable rockets.
00:18:40
Speaker
Okay, because we just had that submersible. That's something different. That was a private company. We haven't even gotten Earth straight yet. Okay. What do you mean? Earth straight yet?
00:18:56
Speaker
What is that? wait for many of just We haven't even finished tourism here yet. Well, no. ah Hey, look, we know more about space than we do about the ocean. And the ocean is right here.
00:19:07
Speaker
I ain't go. OK, go ahead. Reusable rocket. You done lost me with that. You can't even you can't. You got a little toy rockets. You will put it together and then you would light a thing and the rocket would shoot up a little bit.
00:19:20
Speaker
as that You couldn't even you couldn't even reuse those. So now you actual rocket you're trying to reuse. Yeah, right. You can't reuse fireworks. You can't even reuse fireworks.
00:19:34
Speaker
And you talk about reuse, just the words, reusable rocket. But we reuse rockets. there was a There was a rocket. There was a space shuttle that went in this space several times before it blew up, like several times.
00:19:50
Speaker
And then they put the teachers and stuff on there. And then it was one teacher. And then it blew up. And that's that was like ah Big moment in America. They was like, oh, we're going in space. The teacher is going to go into space. And it blew up while all the little kids was watching it. It was very traumatic.
00:20:04
Speaker
Yeah. that Yes. Everybody remembers that. It was a very um important moment in history. But that space shuttle had gone into space several times. It was built specifically for that.
00:20:16
Speaker
I don't care. Reusable. They need to come up with another word, another phrase, because reusable rocket is just not going work for me. You're the linguist. How is another way that you can say reusable rocket?
00:20:28
Speaker
I don't know. But that I don't know. But that is not. What about what about a rocket you can use a bunch of times? No, this I just think I just think about recycled rocket. Like it just is not the same thing.
00:20:46
Speaker
It's not the same thing. I need you to get off of this. It's a thing. It's reusable rockets are a thing. oh God. Okay. I see that. i Googled it. I see that. Yes.
00:20:57
Speaker
But, like... I don't like, I don't like surfing technology. All right. Okay. All right. Well, there are different types of experiences and they're divided up into two main category categories.
00:21:11
Speaker
There are suborbital flights or orbital flights. Suborbital flights are brief journeys to the edge of space, offering a few minutes of weightlessness and a spectacular view.
00:21:23
Speaker
Orbital flights are multi-day missions that circle the Earth, providing a more immersive astronaut experience. and mi and merive and ma no spar Look, so i I talked about it last week.
00:21:36
Speaker
I talked about it on the show on Tuesday.

The Cost of Space Travel: Is It Justified?

00:21:38
Speaker
One of my friends who listens to the show was like, you mess up on a lot of words. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have a speech impediment. And it seems like it's getting worse as I get older.
00:21:46
Speaker
Okay. Which is not good because I'm doing the show and I can't help it. It's not something that I could change. And you know what? I'm not going to edit it out because it's me. So yeah sometimes I'm going mess up on words.
00:21:58
Speaker
It's also been a long day. This is midnight time. Well, it's not midnight time. I'm going mess up on It feels like it. Yeah. Bear with me. But Jay, let's go back to these... Suborbital flights. No, not the reusable rockets, suborbital or orbital flights.
00:22:15
Speaker
If you were to do something on a non written reusable rocket, would you want to do a suborbital or an orbital flight?
00:22:27
Speaker
Are you asking me, do I want to go up? to practically space for a few minutes or go into actual space for a few days. Yeah, that's the difference.
00:22:39
Speaker
No, I want to go to the to almost space for a little bit and come back. I don't want to go to outer space for multiple days. Why not?
00:22:52
Speaker
And then try to come back on a reusable rocket.
00:22:59
Speaker
I want to do it. all right. So when you go to the beach, when we were a little and we went to the beach, did you just walk up to the edge of the beach and just put your toes in the water and then not go back in the water? Or did you get in the water?
00:23:11
Speaker
Yeah, I did. and you want to know what happened? I got caught in an undertow and almost drowned. And now today I stand at the edge of the water and look out because I learned my lesson. You don't I don't need to learn a lesson twice.
00:23:27
Speaker
I don't remember this. How come I don't remember this? was like nine years old. I feel like this is story that you're making up right now. No, I was nine years old. We went to Ocean City and I was swimming in my, it it was like, it was almost like a funnel. Had to be Virginia Beach, not Ocean Oh yeah, sorry. Yes, Virginia Beach.
00:23:43
Speaker
And it was almost like a like a funnel, like a suction was ah wrapped around my foot. And i couldn't I know now you're supposed to swim parallel to the so the beach, but I didn't know that then.
00:23:55
Speaker
And I could not get out of it. And I thought I was going to drown. And then it released and I was able to come back up. But I learned my lesson. i don't need to learn a lesson twice.
00:24:06
Speaker
And so that tells me I could go to the edge. of space to almost space for a little bit be weightless and look at the earth and that's cute and then come back down i'm not going to outer space for a minute for a while and try to come back in a reusable rocket no right. Well, what are some of these companies like? What are some of them charging? So you got Virgin Galactic.
00:24:38
Speaker
As of 2025, ticket prices are around $450,000 to do what you want to do. Yeah. Just go up to be to touch to touch out of space. Not actually being out of space, but to touch it to see it.
00:24:54
Speaker
see Listen, I'm already in outer space. ah Okay. First of all. So, so you you asking me to leave the surface of the earth.
00:25:05
Speaker
That's what you asking me to do. I don't like to fly in a reusable plane. So now you asking me. Wait a minute. You fly in a reusable plane every time you fly?
00:25:18
Speaker
Yeah, that's what saying. I don't like to fly and I'm in these reusable planes. So you think I want to fly in a reusable space plane? I tell you what I don't want to do is fly in a new plane. I need that bad boy to be tested a few times.
00:25:32
Speaker
I kind of, yeah, I do kind of want that to be broken in, but I don't want my rockets that way. Okay. All right. So Blue Origin operates in the operates a New Shepard rocket, and that provides an 11-minute suborbital flight that crosses the Cayman line, which is 62 miles above the Earth.
00:25:48
Speaker
And ticket prices for that genuinely range from only $200,000 to $300,000, with $150,000 deposited to secure seat. thanks. with a hundred and fifty thousand deposits to cry to secure a seat thanks So orbital space tourism, well, we know who the main honcho for that is.
00:26:04
Speaker
Elon Musk and SpaceX officers, all they offer orbital missions. These are the multi-day trips, sometimes all the way up to the International Space Station. And that could cost up to $55 million per seat.
00:26:18
Speaker
Now, if you're the person that just sold the Lakers, you could definitely afford this. Yeah, trust that's pocket change. Yeah, a few trips.
00:26:29
Speaker
Yeah. And then Exum Space partners with SpaceX for private missions to the international space system with ah similar pricing and experiences. um Let's not forget the Blue Origins all-women crew. I think that's what Gayle King and Katy Perry was on on April 14, 2025.
00:26:47
Speaker
They launched six women, including celebrities and entrepreneurs, on a suborbital journey, highlighting the symbolic and emotional appeal of space tourism. Mm-hmm. We saw how Gail King came back and all she did was suborbital.
00:27:02
Speaker
She didn't even do the orbital. um Look, you also got some balloon-based tourism. Companies like Worldview and Space Perspective... just know you got something to say. And Space Perspective have sold thousands of techniques for stratospheric balloon flights with Worldview requiring only $500 deposit to join the wait list.
00:27:23
Speaker
So you... ah So you go up there in a balloon and you go really, really high in a balloon. Not a hot air balloon. I'm imagining it be something little different than hot air balloon.
00:27:37
Speaker
But you go all the way up there and it kind of feels like, you know, it's cold. So what you do when you go up there in that balloon?
00:27:47
Speaker
Come on, Jay.
00:27:50
Speaker
What? I... You know how the Amish have this little period when they turn a certain age where they go out into the and to the world and experience non-Amish life, right? Yeah, I saw some this weekend riding scooters in D.C. I said, hey, they ain't supposed be riding no scooters.
00:28:10
Speaker
And they you're supposed to learn something about yourself and then you decide if you want to continue with the the Amish lifestyle or traditions. I think everybody...
00:28:22
Speaker
should have for like a period, where they black? Wait a minute, what? Where are you going with this?
00:28:32
Speaker
Where you going? Because things like balloon-based tourism, where I'm getting into a stratospheric balloon,
00:28:46
Speaker
just would not be a thing. Because somebody with common sense would say, don't think we should do that.
00:28:58
Speaker
You know? I'm sure they got parachutes that the balloon pops or something like that. All right, so what do what do the passengers experience during these suborbital and orbital flights?
00:29:10
Speaker
and So for the suborbital flights, they experience weightlessness, which I guess would be pretty cool because they experience it for several minutes with microgravity allowing the passengers to float freely. So, you know, what you typically see when you see the astronauts at the space station, they floating around, right? Yes, yes. You also see views of Earth. Large windows and panoramic capsules provide breathtaking views of the planet's curvature and blackness of space.
00:29:35
Speaker
Notice what I said. Curbature. Because the Earth isn't flat, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah. Yeah. Real quickly about that.
00:29:47
Speaker
What are the stakes? Yeah. For the people who, the flat earthers, what are the that the of world's governments have decided, conflicts be damned, we're gonna agree on this one thing, and that's to lie to the global population about the earth being round.
00:30:10
Speaker
What are the stakes there? What does it ultimately matter if the earth is round or flat? There are no stakes in this. You still on the surface and you still live in your life are you still got bills, regardless of whether the earth is round or flat. But just so I have i have to say this so I can be clear, the earth is round.
00:30:34
Speaker
Earth is round. and And if you pay $450,000, you $200,000, you can see it for yourself. You can. All right. Yeah, I mean, they also get like, you know, trinkets and stuff like that to get personalized flight suits and mission patches and pre-flight ceremonies to enhance the astronaut for a day experience.
00:30:55
Speaker
Nah, would like ah the vote the suit and the, I would like that. That's nice. But you don't, okay, well. I don't want go nowhere. I don't want to go anywhere.
00:31:08
Speaker
Just wanna sit around the house. That thing with your space suit on? Yeah. yeah Eating chips and having a good time. You getting Pringle grease all on all of your spaceship. Because you know I'm wiping my hands off on the suit.
00:31:23
Speaker
You put it in washing machine that ruined it or shrunk. I shrunk it and I got high waters.
00:31:31
Speaker
All right, what are the durations? So a slump orbital flight last 10 to 15 minutes. Hey, that's a pretty big penny for $450,000. Like, I'm going to need to be up there for more than 10 to 15 minutes.
00:31:47
Speaker
Yeah, that's a lot. Also, the balloon flights are six to eight hours, but I don't want that either. Yeah, because you want to know why? They're trying to figure out how to get it down. No, that they know how to get it down.
00:32:01
Speaker
Okay. you You tell me how. right. So as technology advances and more companies enter the market, prices are expected to decrease because that's how market happened, except for cell phones.
00:32:14
Speaker
Cell phones just seem to be increasing and increasing. But maybe if we decide to switch to Android, we could get cheaper phones. But I ain't switching. And the number of annual space tourists will rise and until somebody gets in that balloon and it pops.
00:32:31
Speaker
Yeah. So, I mean, space tourism. All right. It seems kind of cool. I don't know. You would go into space? Hell no. But I'm not doing none of that stuff.
00:32:43
Speaker
You're not sending me into space. You're not sending me into a deep ocean. I'm not going into no jungle. I'm not going to

Respecting Personal Boundaries: A Poolside Dilemma

00:32:50
Speaker
Antarctica. barely want to go in the woods. Well, that's not true. You and our brother used to go into the woods all the time. You love the woods.
00:32:58
Speaker
Well, well but not the real woods. Not the real woods. Like one of my clients was talking. went where there's a bunch of trees. the true One of my clients just came back from camping this past weekend.
00:33:11
Speaker
And I was like, you so tell me about it. And so they were telling me about the camping. And i was like, that sounds horrible to me. And they're like, what mean? It was so much fun. I was like, well, you said that you were able to get in two showers in three days.
00:33:22
Speaker
ah Well, that yeah decreases my rate of two showers a day. I don't feel comfortable. yeah Also, you told me that your bathroom wasn't a bathroom. It was like a pit. And i don't I don't want to participate in that.
00:33:34
Speaker
And you're sleeping outside with the bugs. I don't want to participate that. And she was like, oh, so you want to do g glamping. I was like, what that? Yes. and And so she sent me a couple of stuff and showed me what glamping was. And I was like, yes, I would do that. You know why? Because I could go back to the cabin. I can go hiking a little bit, not too far and not too long.
00:33:55
Speaker
Okay. Yeah. Hiking a little bit. Come back home. You know what? There's a bar. What's the bug situation? Well, yeah there's going be bugs out there and there's going to be creatures and cripples and cramplies and crawlies out there too. That's just how nature works.
00:34:10
Speaker
But I'm not venturing off, okay? I'm not going to no rainforest. I'm not going to no jungle. I jive like don't want to go. Jive like, that's DC slang, ladies and gentlemen. An old DC slang. Yeah.
00:34:23
Speaker
I jive like don't want to go on no safari. I'm not riding in no car where the lions and the tigers and the elephants are just roaming free. And I said elephants, and I meant elephants. They could kill you too. I'm not going out there. I could see it on TV. Yeah.
00:34:37
Speaker
Yeah. Or fly me over. you know, give me an aerial view. I'm going to the zoo. ah Yeah. Well, the zoo stinks. I hate the zoo. Animals stink. Yeah, they do. Well, people stink.
00:34:50
Speaker
The world stinks.
00:34:54
Speaker
That's all I got to say. Well, I know. I wouldn't go. You know what? Let me rephrase that. if space tourism ever got to the point where it was as safe as flying on a plane then I definitely would go yeah I give it some check like I wouldn't you know they I see the Waymos the Uber Waymos the ah self-driving cars around because they're piling them in Atlanta uh
00:35:25
Speaker
You know, I'm going let them get some years before I get in there. You know, going to let them, you know, let's keep testing them. Right. And keep on testing them. Right.
00:35:37
Speaker
And I'm to let some time go by. And so when them space tickets or almost space tickets become like $25 out.
00:35:49
Speaker
Jay, they will not be $25 in our lifetime. Okay. Well, then guess what that means. $25,000 maybe. going. $10,000 maybe. ain't gone ten thousand maybe I mean, it it might get to a point where you're paying what you would pay for a vacation, that you would pay for that.
00:36:08
Speaker
But I'm only up there for a couple minutes. No, that's it that's the suborbital. Yeah, that's as far as I'm going. No, no, no, no. Like I said, if it became as as you know frequent and semi-safe as flying, yeah I would do the orbital. I wouldn't want to be up there for a couple of days if I know that I'm more than likely going to come back home.
00:36:28
Speaker
Because we're taking the crapshoot every time we get on a plane anyway. Anytime we get in the car. So if it became as safe as that, yeah and it might it might be, they will probably throw out numbers to say, it's safe. We haven't had no accidents.
00:36:42
Speaker
That's because you only did 12 trips. Okay, calm down. Okay, wait until you're 12 for 12. Great. Right, right, right. Holler at me when you've done 12,000, 12 million trips.
00:36:53
Speaker
But if it got to that point, I would do an orbital trip to get it tim safely be in outer space because the last thing I want is some cable to break and I'm just floating because there's a couple of ways that I definitely don't want to die.
00:37:05
Speaker
and um Drifting off into space? Definitely don't. Drifting off into the ocean? yep Definitely don't. Burning? Definitely don't.
00:37:17
Speaker
Or being tortured by a serial killer. Those are the four ways I definitely don't want to die. I also do not want to survive a plane crash ah and on top of a snowy mountain.
00:37:31
Speaker
And I got to make a trek with Idris Elba back down. You wouldn't want to be trapped with Idris Elba? I don't know. Maybe. i think My only thing is, isn't that the movie where they had to eat people? No, that was a Alive. a Alive in the 90s is when they had to eat people. That was based on true story.
00:37:51
Speaker
No, this was the mountain between us. That took on a whole new meaning of eating ass. good guy It was called The Mountain Between Us and it was Idris Elba and Kate Winslet that survived a plane crash and they were like, don't know where the hell they were, the Himalayas or something. they were so They was out there.
00:38:09
Speaker
Look, people always talking about migrants are taking jobs. Them damn British is taking all the acting jobs. Why they gotta have two British people starring in the same movie that's produced in the States?
00:38:21
Speaker
Can't they find two American actors? Look, they were good. The movie was good. Oh, all the British actors always good. That's the reason why they keep hiring them. But I'm just saying, America first.
00:38:33
Speaker
ah That's what they said, right? Well, if we, you know, had free college here, then maybe some of our... They got free college and in Britain land? Mm-hmm.
00:38:44
Speaker
Oh, okay. Yeah, so they're all classically trained actors. Why? Because they go to school for free. Oh, well, yeah yeah, guess that would be nice. We could go to school for free. mean, we might do it. huh We might.
00:38:58
Speaker
This is still America. All right. On that note, Jay, the next topic going to get into talks about family. We're going to address it next.
00:39:19
Speaker
Okay, Jay, this is a little different. I still went to my favorite social media site. Reddit. But I went to a different subreddit and because the title of the subreddit touched my heart.
00:39:32
Speaker
And the title of the subreddit series of all these people entering in their ah posts is Am I a Jerk?

Family Obligations vs. Personal Peace

00:39:41
Speaker
Yeah. now I feel like that will resonate with you. Yeah, because. Me it Yes. and And you know, I always tell people I'm a jerk.
00:39:49
Speaker
Yeah. But I'm not an asshole. There's a difference. There's a difference. A jerk. I'm going to joke on joke on you. And I want to be joked on too because I don't take myself too seriously.
00:40:00
Speaker
My love language is picking on you. I'm a jerk that way. But it's never malicious. It's never mean spirited. It's my way of showing you I rock with you. Right.
00:40:11
Speaker
An asshole does those very same things, but is purposely being mean and trying to hurt your feelings. Right. It's malicious. Right. If I point out you got a big-ass pimple on your forehead, um funny I want us to laugh about it.
00:40:27
Speaker
Yeah. Because I see it. You know that I see it. Because you done seen it. You walked out the house. You saw it. You know, because my eyes keep going to your forehead.
00:40:38
Speaker
Did I see it? So why am I gonna ignore it? Let me just point out. My eyes keep drifting Keep drifting keep drifting up, yeah. What you should say is, you see this pimple on my forehead, and I'll be like, hell yeah, see it. Like, I'm not blind.
00:40:51
Speaker
yeah I might wear glasses sometimes, but I can see that. yeah What happened? I don't know. Well, just sometimes you get them. Could have been something that you ate. That's what happens to me sometimes. You know, I eat too many chips.
00:41:03
Speaker
Eat seven or eight days worth of Harris Teeter bag chips. Kettle chips, the good kind. Reduced fat, though. But somehow I break out program probably because of all the sodium. Get like one pimple.
00:41:17
Speaker
okaym Okay. Or if I eat too much sugar. You know, something happens. If change up my diet, something happens to my body because I'm getting older. So I'm a jerk.
00:41:29
Speaker
Yes. Not an asshole. Yes. And this woman wants to know if she's a jerk. And the title of her post is, Am I a Jerk for Not Letting My Sister's Kids Swim in My Pool Because They Don't Know How to Be Quiet?
00:41:43
Speaker
That is the whole title of the post. That whole title. Yeah. All right. So this is what she says. So I, a 31 year old female, recently bought a house with a pool.
00:41:55
Speaker
It's something I've worked towards for years. I saved, I planned and finally made it happen. It's my little sanctuary. My sister, 34 female, has three kids, ages four, six and eight.
00:42:08
Speaker
Ever since she found out I have a pool, she's been asking to bring them over for a swim. At first, I said yes, thinking it would be occasional. But now she expects to come over every weekend, sometimes even during the week if school's out.
00:42:23
Speaker
The issue is her kids are really loud and they don't listen to anyone, not even her. They scream, run around, soaking wet inside my house, splashing water everywhere, leaving trash. And once one of them peed in the shallow end and laughed about it.
00:42:39
Speaker
I was horrified. After three weekends of chaos, I told her I needed a break and would keep the pool days to just me and a few of my friends for now. She got offended and said I was being a snob and hate kids.
00:42:51
Speaker
I clarified that I don't hate kids, but I do hate my peaceful weekend turning into a screaming zoo. She said I was being selfish and that family comes first.
00:43:02
Speaker
Now my mama has gotten involved and says I should open my heart and it's just water. Am I being a jerk?
00:43:14
Speaker
No.
00:43:16
Speaker
Here's the thing. And I really want people with children to hear me when I say this. You care about your kids. You do.
00:43:28
Speaker
You care about your kids.
00:43:33
Speaker
You do. I'm kidding. So you think it's fine if your kids come over here and use my pool. I don't. Because your kids loud and they don't listen to nobody and they mess up my stuff and they i think trash everywhere and they pee in my pool and stuff.
00:43:49
Speaker
No. No. Oh, family first. No, those are your kids. They're yours. So you get a house with a pool for your kids.
00:44:01
Speaker
She said she saved, planned. Yes. she she This is what she wanted. Yeah. And you want to know how I was able to save and plan and get what I want? Because I had no kids.
00:44:14
Speaker
I do. yeah i do That's where you're going. People going to think that we hate kids. We love kids. how work he But I actually said this on one of my recent episodes by myself.
00:44:28
Speaker
People with kids, they're always talking about how, you know, I don't want to see this on TV because it's bad for my kids to see. And I don't want my kids to see this it's bad for my kids to see.
00:44:39
Speaker
and and And my response to this but response to that was, When did it become my responsibility to raise your kids? Why my life being hampered for a decision that you made?
00:44:50
Speaker
You made that decision. It's your responsibility to raise your kids. If you want to bring your kids over to my house to swim in my pool, guess what? I got some rules. One of the rules is don't be tracking water all over my house.
00:45:03
Speaker
Another one of my rules is let's keep it down because I got neighbors. Another one of my rules is you better not pee in my pool and you damn sure better not laugh about it. And if you don't follow my rules,
00:45:14
Speaker
You can't come over. You can't come over. And mama, stop taking her side. And you see what it was. You see what it was. This is not the dynamic between us. No. But you see it was the older sister doing this to the younger sister.
00:45:27
Speaker
The older sister is the one with the kids. Yeah. younger sister is the one like, I saved up for a house and bought a boo. Yeah. and And instead of just being like, I'm real proud of you. Look at what you did. You wanted to do this.
00:45:40
Speaker
And look at what you did. I'm so proud of you. ah this is really beautiful. And oh, you did save up so much money. You did plan for this.
00:45:51
Speaker
This is your sanctuary. This is your home. yeah If you're asking me to respect it and I can't respect it or my kids can't respect it or I can't control my kids, you were you well within your right to be like, get the hell up out here.
00:46:04
Speaker
Yeah, I bought this house with this pool for me. I didn't buy... So, like... the the The insinuation that the poster is being selfish and family comes first.
00:46:20
Speaker
Excuse me. This is not a family home. This is my home. If it was a family home, you'd be contributing financially to it. You're not. So this is my home.
00:46:32
Speaker
And this pool is my pool. I pay for the water in it. I'm the one that's coming with the little pole with the net on the on getting the leaves and the bugs out. I'm testing the chlorine levels.
00:46:44
Speaker
And you urine. And the urine. I'm testing the chlorine levels. I'm cleaning the trash your kids is leaving all over the place. I'm doing this. And the the they the last line that she wrote says, I feel bad, but it's my pool, my house, and my time.
00:47:02
Speaker
Not only Did I miss that? Yeah. Not only is it reasonable for you to do the say this because it is your pool and your house, but it is even more reasonable because it is your time.
00:47:17
Speaker
It is your time that you are losing- Right. This time that your peaceful weekend being disrupted. I'm assuming you probably work full time and everything. So your weekend, that's your time.
00:47:32
Speaker
That's your time to enjoy the thing that you've worked, saved up for to buy. Yeah. To enjoy yourself. If you wanted to spend it with kids, you'd have had some. Well, we don't know the situation. she She might, you know, we don't know the situation.
00:47:46
Speaker
And she might love- You don't always have to be bio children. You can adopt. Well, we don't know her situation. mean We don't know her situation. Maybe she got some warrants and she can't adopt kids. But my point is this.
00:47:58
Speaker
I don't have to extend my home, my time, my pool, my energy to people if I don't want to. It doesn't make me a snob. It doesn't mean I hate kids.
00:48:13
Speaker
It doesn't, none of this thing, it just means this is my space and I'm allowed to run my space the way I want to run my space.

Conclusion and Listener Engagement

00:48:24
Speaker
Nobody is ever selfish ever for wanting their piece.
00:48:31
Speaker
Yeah. that Look, We talk about all the time. Mental health is so very, very important. Peace and tranquility, so very, very important. man We don't know what this woman has going on. She might have anxiety problems.
00:48:46
Speaker
She might have depression. She needs that time. i have... I have to have a day where it's it's typically on Sunday, but like this past weekend, it was on Saturday. My Bruce's fun day. It happens on Saturday or Sunday, right? I have to, where people are like, let's do something.
00:49:04
Speaker
No, no. no I need to recenter because if I don't, everybody's going catch hell the next week. right I have to recenter. That's just who I am as a person. She ain't getting none of her recenter time because the kids is coming over.
00:49:17
Speaker
And you know what? She might not hate kids, but she might hate your kids the way they acting. Your kids don't even listen to you. They bad.
00:49:29
Speaker
They bad. People are like, that's no bad kids. No. No. No. There's some bad kids out there. No. They run around tearing stuff up, acting up. No. You and our brother were bad kids.
00:49:42
Speaker
No, I got lumped in and I'm still getting lumped in. Nah, you had your hand in breaking stuff too. Oh yeah, but I always had a reason.
00:49:53
Speaker
What? You always had a reason for breaking stuff? What? Talk about that later. Okay. Okay. when But you and our brother were these kids.
00:50:05
Speaker
No. Yes. Y'all were the loud ones running around bringing water all in the house. No. ah Think about if we had a pool.
00:50:16
Speaker
Do you honestly think Then we would be peeing in it, tracking water in the house. No. Tracking water in the house, yes. Not peeing in it, though.
00:50:27
Speaker
No. We would have to dry off outside. You know that. With our parents? Yes. Oh, yes, yes, yes. No way. No, we are not those. Initially, we would attract some water until we straight. And we'd get yelled at that one time.
00:50:43
Speaker
And be like, oh, wait, you got to dry off. Don't track no water inside. We got in trouble last time. Like this. No, like it just, i I'm sorry. We, we wouldn't go over someone else's home and disrespect it like that.
00:50:56
Speaker
You're right. And these, well, these kids don't have no home training. That's the problem. Yeah. So that's, that's bad parenting. And, and if I was her, I'd be like, no, I don't hate kids.
00:51:09
Speaker
I don't like your kids when they come over to my pool and I really don't like your parenting skills. You don't have no kids. You don't know what it's like. Well, I do know that my kids wouldn't act like this or I would beat the hell out of them.
00:51:21
Speaker
No, I'm just joking. like no But I'm not. But I mean, you know, that it like if you don't have a handle on it and they not, I mean, they're young kids, but not young enough to not know better. Four, six, and eight, you should know better.
00:51:38
Speaker
Well, I had a friend that was just up here recently and I haven't seen her or her daughter in couple of years. and And her daughter is around three or four now. So her daughter does not remember me, right? yeah yeah And they were close to me. They were down at a park that was like two or three miles away from me and and called me up last minute like, hey, are you around? And I was like...
00:52:05
Speaker
I will be around in about an hour and a half. and they And they told me they were like, she's already starting to get a little antsy. It's only matter of time for we hit a temper tantrum if we don't get her to nap time. So yeah we probably have to do a rain check. And I was like, I respect it.
00:52:22
Speaker
yeah I don't want her to have no temper tantrum up in my house. Yeah. Because I'm going to be like, hey. Hey. Hey, now. Calm down. Right. You're doing a lot. And I would have to, i if I was her, I would also go to mom. Be like, mom, look, you ain't helped me buy this house.
