Well, yeah. Sorry, not to process today. Can your iron suit conceal your boner? Rain's huddle, by the way, crown.

Podcast and Character Introductions

00:00:48
Speaker
Hello, everyone, and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship at the tabletop, Bellum Draconis. We are a live play 5v Dindi podcast at the magical homebrew world of Eryth in the kingdom of Sleetgun. I'm turning into one of those auctioneers. What do I say next? We have three players with us. We've got five. Fuck. We've got five players with us today, but two of them yet unnamed. So we're going to get into that. We have Daron who plays the high elf artificial brains. Hello. Hello, model. We have Catlin who plays the wolf or artificial alpha. Hello. We've got Ian.
00:01:19
Speaker
sup we've got Danny hey fever and we've got well he plays the human cleric Enron
00:01:28
Speaker
It's a bit smokey in here. Cough, cough, wheeze, wheeze.

Recap of Previous Episode

00:01:32
Speaker
On last week's episode of Fellowship at Tabletop, we found ourselves in the forge of Goldport Keep, and these two huge figures, unknown entities within the space. They'd let off a smoke bomb, and in doing so, had blinded us, and we were all the, yes, the proverbial John Cena. No one could see anyone. We were all waving our hands in front of our faces, and wearing chains, practicing our thug-anomics. Thug life. There, man.
00:01:58
Speaker
Anyway, no, there were no, I can't remember any of his moves now. Attitude adjustment. Attitude adjustment, yeah, yeah. Oh, the STF. No, is that him? Anyway, whatever. Yeah, STF you. Cool, look at me, I know things. So, the... It's not me's aim for life. So, what happened then was that combat ensued around the group, blinded

Combat and Chaos

00:02:20
Speaker
Disadvantaged combat from all sides. Alpha just clogged his gun ups, and I was pretty much broken, and fell over, which was hilarious. Emerald took a shot to the back. Raines produced some dancing lights, and we tried to make our way out of this combat. The door, Emerald opened the door, and Smoke started to leave. At the very last minute, Danny's character had spoken, saying something along the lines of, I thought I taught you better, and had used a whip to try and take the legs out from under Emerald. Emerald stopped the first attack.
00:02:50
Speaker
sorry, the first grapple, but failed at the second and had landed on his back, looking up at the figure of Mauro. This person we have just almost... You might have seen, but I'm sure you would have built the image in your head slightly already, giving away. Fuck. Okay. Sorry. Apologies. For fuck's sake. If there was ever a fellowship blooper reel.
00:03:14
Speaker
There it is. That's love. A violent scribble on the pad there. For the blue piss. Darren's eyes are... you'd cotton Don anyway, I'm sure. Right, so you're looking up this figure above you. Sorry, I had the name there. For fuck's sake. After that... The mystery is destroyed.
00:03:36
Speaker
I'm sure I'm sure after that killed that fuck me fuck me.

Reunion and Revelations

00:03:40
Speaker
It's been a long week. So with that The smoke continues to dissipate and almost plume out into the high midday Sun
00:03:49
Speaker
There's a silence in the air. I'm looking here is the panting of probably just Alpha from standing up and running around the place. I don't breathe. Oh yeah, fine. All right. Just give me, give me something. It's okay. Thank you. You're looking at what this figure reigns. You're starting to make out spaces and shapes around. You can also make out the hooded shape of another figure. One that has not yet been encountered by the others. Alpha, this is a figure that had been attacking you as well.
00:04:20
Speaker
The smoke slowly leaves. You can see across the space now. It feels more like a steamy bathroom than it would not be dark smoke still. So basically, it's slightly foggy in there, but you can see pretty much through it. Everyone's still. There's a moment of silence. Enron, you're still on your back. We'll start with you, Enron, though. Is there anything you want to do? I'm going to assume that the voice I've recognized, Enron, would recognize as marauders.
00:04:49
Speaker
Sorry, you're asking me? Yes, because you're the DM. You need to tell me whether I recognize it. There's only one person you've met in your time that has that accent. That's fine. And that was the voice of Marota that had that accent. I'm just checking, you know. That's right. I'm a man of many voices, but maybe he accidentally just uses the same one, you know. And one will look...
00:05:19
Speaker
Well,

Survival Stories

00:05:20
Speaker
my vocabulary range is just as shit, but I just... And to be fair, we're only probably minutes away from McBenna making appearance, the amount of time we're making appearance in that one. Fuck you, Darren. You did bring everyone into it a lot. It's a saucy episode tonight, guys. I wish to throw my hammer at range. Everyone's throwing their sass juice tonight.
00:05:47
Speaker
Everyone will look up from the floor towards this cloaked figure. Quite large because I remember Morota was quite tall. Morota? But you fell. My character will offer a hand to
00:06:17
Speaker
Emron to help him up. An orange, tinted, sand-skinned, orcish hand. Emron will take it. What? Oh, and all of Aerith is happening.
00:06:43
Speaker
And my character will just turn to the other hooded figure and nod.
00:06:58
Speaker
You were muted throughout that, Ian, so we heard none of it. No, I wasn't muted. I didn't know what to say, so I just threw up some thumbs. Oh, right, OK. And on a podcast, that looks like it was moving. That transmits great on a podcast. Is it as in you did thumbs up or your character did thumbs up? No, it was me kind of just like, yeah, cool. So my character, in response to a nod, will take off his hood.
00:07:26
Speaker
and just let it down slowly. And what you see is a light blue tiefling with deep brown, pupil-less eyes staring at you all kind of confused and trying to make sense over what he's seeing in front of him.
00:07:57
Speaker
But he stands there quite stoic. Just takes in the scene. You both fell. Everyone's going to be looking at both of them. Why are you attacking us? What? What? What? What? What is happening? To be fair, it was a dark room. Hmm.
00:08:24
Speaker
It was a dark room because you threw a smoke bomb at us and then shut the door. That's what that that that's correct me if I'm wrong, but that's why it was a dark room. What is happening? Perhaps we could get a drink. Yeah. Well, I know we before we do that, we saw you.
00:08:50
Speaker
fall for we we searched and searched days we spent on that course looking for you there was no sign there's a story to tell hmm here is not the place for it how how long have you
00:09:18
Speaker
There's been a whole host of folk here searching this place. How did you, how, how did you, we're with them. This is you with that, that money shot born on. Yeah. I, we have been for a while. He,
00:09:46
Speaker
He said he was leaving people to make sure that we stuck to task. Conveniently, he's left people you can trust. Gobsmacked, Renz is just gobsmacked. As you look around the Zencaster screen in front of you, all I see are five very confused faces looking back at me.
00:10:16
Speaker
I'm more confused than when another warforged came into it. The rest of the smoke has dissipated. The space is clear. You distinctly can make out the faces and

Current Challenges and Debts

00:10:30
Speaker
their bodies. Well, you can't make that out. It's wearing a cloak. It's not like a weird thing, but of Marota.
00:10:37
Speaker
And Nix Correll. Morota Broken Tusk, Nix Correll. The two ex-members of the party who, rightly, six and a half months ago, fell hundreds of feet, smashing, we can assume, into water, and were never seen again. There's a silence. A chirp of a nearby magpie screams past the door and whips up into the trees.
00:11:08
Speaker
I think some air, at least. This is now beginning to smell like smoke, embers, and emeron's farts. And Mrota's going to move outside. Nyx just stands there expressionless, eyes shifting from rain to emeron. They linger on alpha.
00:11:39
Speaker
And then they shift again, and he's just stood there, kind of to attention. Stoic. Waiting. After a moment of silence, Rains is going to just, no, no, no, no, no, no, turn and follow my rotor.
00:12:02
Speaker
Alpha I think is going to gradually walk back towards the doors where Nyx is and almost in the same style as he did Magnus when he first saw him. He's going to kind of stare at Nyx in the same way and then slowly move out of the armory as well. Only Nyx and Emron remain in the forge. Emron will have watched all this, he's still trying to process it.
00:12:34
Speaker
And he takes a moment and feels around his neck, because he still wears upon it, around his neck, under his shirt, he still feels the horseshoe symbol and the, I imagine it says, a palm-sized book that appeared upon it. Something like that, that anyone has kept.
00:13:02
Speaker
knowing it was what was given to him by whatever power had imbued into Nix. He's going to feel its presence there, because it's always then been there. And he's going to walk over to Nix, towering as FM Ron does, his great bulk, and looks down into
00:13:32
Speaker
nix's eyes and just just stares there with with with m1's almost m1's you know topaz coloured eyes staring into nix i'll match your stare stoic back straight unwavering not unfriendly
00:13:57
Speaker
But just staring back, mirror from mirror almost. Do I get the sense, is the way Nix is acting, is this different to the cheeky element of Nix before? How does the way Nix bears himself compare to
00:14:18
Speaker
Original nicks as we're gonna call it for now as a story. Oh, sorry. Sorry I was just good was this from like a Kind of a player's perspective or from like a this is a player's foot. This is this is this is this is everyone looking I mean, it's up to Ian whether or whether the if the DM wants to get involved you can do if you want, you know No, I'm more than happy if you guys should talk I talk too much Anyway in guide you just get the sense that we haven't seen each other in six months and for me to have survived there must be a story behind it and
00:14:48
Speaker
potentially changes a person. There's a hard edge, not a hardness, a hard edge to Nix's eyes. That perhaps wasn't there before. Perhaps wasn't there before. Okay. I want to look. If you are who you say you are, then that's grand.
00:15:20
Speaker
But if you are something else wearing this image, nor that we will find out, and we will end you. You haven't changed. And everyone will turn around, still not sure, and walk towards the door. Leaving Nyx in the forge.
00:15:50
Speaker
Once everyone's out the room, Nyx will follow after him. We enter right into the bright sunlight of now midday. The smoke has seemed to have almost settled like a low-hanging mist across the space nearby around the chugging plough. And you can see in front of you, Nyx, as we take from your perspective as you're the last to leave, almost a very slow
00:16:15
Speaker
procession almost of these individual figures separate from each other, almost by 10 or 15 feet, trudging slowly back towards wherever Marotta chooses to go really at the head of this column. Where would you like to lead the group? I was just going to sort of step out towards the main keep, but not go in it, but just to be outside and then Marotta's going to completely de-robe the cloak and the hood.
00:16:44
Speaker
and just chuck it on the floor and again, just in the comfortable clothes she's used to being in. And just sit. So we'll just give you a point of reference. Slightly to the north from the forge are a series of very, very old marble statues, two figures of two individuals that stood facing what looked like it used to become kind of plinth or marble, kind of step or gym.
00:17:09
Speaker
Yes, steppe really, about a foot wide. These two figures stand tall, 15 feet, edges worn by weather. These have stood for quite some time, possibly moved from location to location. The one on the left stands with both its palms open down by its sides, almost by showing its hands, and it seems to be the face of a weathered old man wearing quite royal clothing.
00:17:32
Speaker
the figure to the right is that of an ancient looking knight stands with hands together in the middle holding the base of the kind of pommel of a sword a long broadsword that touches down towards the ground a helmet is placed upon its head you can't make out names there are no plinths to describe who these two figures are but feels like a natural kind of meeting point if you did want somewhere a bit more um
00:17:57
Speaker
A bit more dramatic, let's say, to sit yourselves. Yeah. Okay. I had there and then I just take a seat amongst the stone. Okay. And of course your core, I'm not telling you, putting words in your mouth, but do the others follow or where are we kind of heading? I think the next out was Reigns. I think you're the next one out. Do you follow along or do you take your own path? Reigns glances at Marota.
00:18:24
Speaker
and walked straight past into the Great Hall. As he gets into the Great Hall, he just looks around.

Future Plans: Goblin Lands or Dragon Hoard?

00:18:30
Speaker
He finds the first thing that he can think to do, which is just to grab empty flagons. He's going to get NC to fill yourself up. NC's going to dive into one of the barrels, and Rains is just going to take two of the flagons into the mead barrel and just fill them up. And he's then just going to walk back outside without saying anything, whilst all this stuff with
00:18:55
Speaker
Enron and Nyx was happening. And he's just going to come in front of Morota, wordless, and just offer out one of the tankards. And she'll reach out. Thank you. You're welcome. I understand. I guess you must feel like you've seen a ghost. Could say that.
00:19:25
Speaker
that would be a fair assessment while I'm feeling right now, yeah. Alpha, you might have caught up to the situation if you were to follow by now. Yeah, no, that's fine. I think what Alpha would just be doing while Reigns and Marota are in conversation, he would kind of
00:19:43
Speaker
walk around this eating area. And again, the same kind of almost investigative look that he gave Nix who will also give to Marota. For him, for all intents and purposes, maybe he thought they died, maybe he thought they didn't. But this random appearance was definitely shook him, but he's not going to sit down. He's going to just kind of stand next to Reigns at this point.
00:20:14
Speaker
It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm just very confused. I understand. How, how did you... How? Where? We fell off a cliff. That much I know. And then there was a lot of unknowing. Maybe we should wait for Emron.
00:20:45
Speaker
Let's first give this a save. Yeah, Emron, you've seen where these three are kind of gathered at the moment. Again, it's your choice, totally. Do you want to go to them? And then we'll ask the same question to Nick for a sec. Raines will go over to the group.
00:21:02
Speaker
Did Reigns bring out enough flagons for everyone? Yeah, the flagons are empty and you can see that Reigns has just popped down the empty ones on a side table and wherever he could have popped them down. And then NC is just currently doing his Reigns-Hast and just filling up the others. And you can just come and take one as soon as NC's finished filling it. Everyone will take a mug of, or this tank could have mead. The moment NC looks like finishes it, he's taking a tank.
00:21:31
Speaker
It's a big swallow. Still looking at Marota. She's going to wave. And then he's going to look over his shoulder, just check that Nyx, let's call him Nyx for now, came out of the forge. Yeah, Nyx would be following and would definitely pick up a flag.
00:22:00
Speaker
if there was one around and would sit down. I'm going to just say it rains while waiting for people to assemble and making small talk, gesture to NC and say, I forgot about that little thing. It looks bigger. NC will fly over and a little ticker tape will just start to appear on its forehead and goes, whoa, what?
00:22:28
Speaker
What is that doing? Just then turns it's a tinkering infusion into repeating basic speech. And we'll just go, I am older. Apparently he's grown up. He's puberty or something. I'm not entirely sure. I see.
00:22:51
Speaker
It's very exciting, Raines. It's a cute little thing you've built. Oh, yeah, thanks. And then what will happen is, is that one of the glasses that NC hadn't put on the table properly, one of the spare ones, it's just going to fall off the table and smash and Raines will go, oh, look at that. Physics working the way it should do. That's comforting.
00:23:18
Speaker
It's okay. It's not a weird thing. Is it not, though, really? You fall off a cliff. You should be dead. So, Emron, Nick said, is it okay if I start? Yep, yep, yep, yep. By all means, we've got a lot to catch up on, I guess.
00:23:45
Speaker
And there's a wry smile as Nick says that we fell a long way. I tried everything I could. There was a, everyone, you could have grabbed a rope. I suppose it would have helped. I tried. I didn't really give you much time.
00:24:08
Speaker
And then I don't really remember anything for days or weeks. It felt months. It could have been. I'd say it was a couple of days before we hit that ship. Yeah. We woke up or scooped up in a net and on a fishing. Was it fishing? It was more cargo. It was cargo.
00:24:37
Speaker
You don't get fishing boats like that with those people. And they were heading to Moonrise, the Sanguine Lands, opposite direction of getting back to Goldview and finding you. And then once we got there, it was, well, we had no money to get back. We had no money to buy food. But how did you get
00:25:09
Speaker
you hit the water i blacked out it's a lot of pain yeah a lot of pain after as well pain a lot of pain okay i'm gonna just say it what's happened to him like sorry sorry not pointing next what you don't are you are you all right you don't you don't seem your usual self
00:25:39
Speaker
It's been a hard six months getting back and Maro was the only one to save me. And I'm afraid we had to engage in sort of my traditional line of work and maybe it took the edge off next a little bit.

Proposals and Emotional Reactions

00:26:02
Speaker
I'm just trying to
00:26:09
Speaker
hard on myself because sometimes you have to look out for yourself. I think, you know, becoming that close to death is quite humbling. We, uh, we did stick around till dawn and we tried to search the coast and chore as best as we could. But by all rights, you, you fell. You should be dead.
00:26:37
Speaker
I don't disagree. All I know is that we're not and we woke up on a boat. I do. I always thought that I could handle it. How many times have you jumped off a cliff more than, you know, the equivalent of a diving board next? I mean, in hindsight, I survived. But you're not going to go and do it again.
00:27:07
Speaker
No. No, I don't want to experience anything like that again. There's no way without something intervening that you two should be here. Then maybe something intervened. I'm not saying I don't disagree. Yes.
00:27:37
Speaker
I understand how physics works too. I don't know how physics works, but I know what our thing should be. And you don't fall from that heart to it water. You don't walk away from that. And stuff that brings you back.
00:28:06
Speaker
How do we know? How do you know that you are you? Nick looks at his tiefling self, his colour. Are you sure I'm me? There's strangers in the world that you could be right, but are you real?
00:28:36
Speaker
I can't pretend I always understood what you meant, but this time I'm really having a hard time with it. Pretty sure I'm right. I get that we're coming across maybe a bit differently, but we six months of how we journey together as, you know, the five of us for what, two weeks?
00:29:05
Speaker
I've been with Cruz much longer than that. Nix has had shits longer than that. Okay, okay. So if we accept for now that you are you, and you're right, we didn't know it to the for long, how did you then get wrapped up in this?
00:29:33
Speaker
born dad malarkey so i've worked with him before i met all of yous uh i knew well we discovered he had some contacts in moonrise so i reached out again and here we are we did need money no but no no here we are
00:30:02
Speaker
How do we end up right here? Well, no, well, yes, but but like, you know, we've encountered Vorn dad Know what what bargain do you have to strike with him? For you to say that you were amongst the ones that were here seeking death You said you were with What's he got on you No, he employs us
00:30:30
Speaker
Yeah, Emron, I think they're the two who are here to make sure that Orla doesn't default on her. Oh shit, Orla, Rains will say, and he's

Negotiations and Humor

00:30:40
Speaker
just going to run back round to the other side, knowing that he'd left Orla with a load of mercenaries. We weren't really ever instructed to kill her, as you go running off. Do you were instructed to kill us?
00:31:01
Speaker
debt collectors more than anything. Shakedown is really what we were expecting today. This place was given to, for all of us, you as well. Conveniently, Von Dunt doesn't know that. Right. So, when he mentioned that this was coming up, we just kept quiet about our affiliation
00:31:32
Speaker
to sort of help. Okay. It's more Maro's idea. I'm still not sure about it. So is your... Where do your loyalties lie? With myself. Yeah, that's never changed. Okay. Okay.
00:32:01
Speaker
And just quickly, we'll skip over towards Rains, where he runs into the main hall. None of the other figures have moved. A few of them are stirring. One or two are groaning. They're all alive, but they're just one or two just sitting up and looking towards Orla, who hasn't moved, sat back to the wall next to the door, crossbow in hand, just kind of looking at all the people that were kind of restrained in the space, and then looks to you quickly. Well, did you get those two as well?
00:32:30
Speaker
No time to explain, but you're going to want to come see. I suppose we can't leave them unattended, can we? Right, all of you up, up, up, up, up, yes, yes. You, you, you're the one who kept saying that we were the ones. Get up, get up, get up. Yeah, they all kind of stumble up to their feet. Just lead them out.
00:32:53
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Go, go, go, go, go. Courtyard, main door. You'll see, you'll see. I can't even say it. It's so ridiculous. Come, come on, people. God, I feel like a prison warden. Jailer, come on. I put the crossbow down. They're not going to do anything. And if they do, well, it's not a fight you're going to win. I take it that you've all understand, they'll understand that, right? I fear them not. You're not going to try and kill us again, right? Most of them shake their head.
00:33:22
Speaker
The one, anyone that didn't shake your tail, I'm gonna go over to them and go, look, I'm gonna level with you. It's just not a good idea. I just need you to say it, but that you're not gonna do anything stupid.
00:33:35
Speaker
The figure that stands in front of you has a disheveled cloth kind of over the face and a kind of a slightly overly large hat on their head wearing quite loose clothing. And they pull down the mask and pull off the head piece, expecting to see what you've seen with some of the others. You see this quite elegant female half-elf with the kind of violet eyes looking back at you.
00:34:03
Speaker
No, I'm not going to try and kill him. Can we go or what? Well, yeah. Sorry, not to process today. Can your iron suit conceal your boner?
00:34:29
Speaker
Raine's had oh by the way crown Yeah, you're not gonna try and kill us right good hmm, I believe this one
00:34:46
Speaker
whatever man and she's going to walk

New Alliances and Rebuilding

00:34:50
Speaker
out and kind of shimmy the others out and again all kind of the similar dress kind of just big big kind of cloaks over them and these materials and just kind of like to quote a poem a washing line of clothes just kind of bundled over them they look very much like just
00:35:06
Speaker
a mess. You can't really make out a lot of discerning features, which is useful for my reveal of NPCs in a minute. Raines. As the violetized half-elf goes to grow past me, Raines is just going to reach out and take her by the forearm, and he's just going to look at her for a second, knowing what they say about Hado bastards, particularly those who are half-born, and he's just going to look at her and see if there are any discernible Hadoian features in her face.
00:35:39
Speaker
Um, no, um, well, there's a, there's a distinct moment where you feel an inhalation of breath as she resists you pulling her arm. You are just grabbing her. She just resists that slightly makes eye contact for a second. And it's a, it's a quite a steely eyed look of kind of like slight resentment. You are technically a prisoner. She is technically a prisoner. Um, kind of pulls back slightly and, but then quite calmly just says, I think you need to get, let go of my wrist.
00:36:09
Speaker
Yeah, sorry, just checking. She should pull that away. I mean, after a say in that, he'll have been, yeah, of course, yeah, yeah. She's at the door, around the corner, following Ola and the others who bumble out along after her as well. Ola in the lead. Takes her around the corner. And this would be quite fun to take from Reince's perspective, actually. If we continue kind of over your shoulder, you just hear a scream. And
00:36:39
Speaker
Oh, that's an horrific hit. And next you hear this whistle of a crossbow bolt fling just past your ear. And as you turn around and look back, you see all are like wide eyed reloading the crossbow and going to shoot again.
00:36:58
Speaker
And that's gonna be a 10 missing again They're trying to reload again with this like gaggle of people just kind of following looking very Confused range as you come around the corner you see a kind of reloading for this shit takes put that damn crossbow down before you hurt yourself or somebody or Jesus What's in the name of the gods is this? Well, we were asking the same question, but don't try shooting at it. That's not gonna help the situation is it?
00:37:22
Speaker
It can't, this can't. The situation, shooting at the situation, or Nix, or Nix, or at least we think is Nix, don't shoot at Nix, don't shoot at, it is Nix, Nix is facing Nix. I said, we shouldn't come back. I thought, you know what Orla, maybe don't try and kill Nix again, hey? I told you they wouldn't understand. She doesn't take in any of this, Orla turns back to Reigns and says, you said they were gone.
00:37:54
Speaker
We thought they were... Marola, just for fidelity, can you confirm? For all the pleas that you did fall off a goddamn cliff. I fell off a cliff? Fighting monster as you assigned us to? I don't wish to say that that shade was aimed at one of us in particular, Ola, but I think that was aimed for you. She drops the crossbow. How about I just take that, and I'm just gonna put the crossbow down over here near Alpha.
00:38:21
Speaker
She's staring at the ground in front of her, shaking her head. I can't. I can't. And she's just going to walk off past you all north. Yeah, that's a good idea. And just through the glade above Goulport keep, and she's just going to keep walking out of your sight. Just continuing on a straight trajectory, not taking a path, just walking and walking until she disappears from sight.
00:38:45
Speaker
The rest of the gaggle of oath keepers who were kind of gathered around just kind of mutter and look to one another confused and just kind of awkwardly stand there, about 15, 20 feet away from the main group. You guys have been busy. Who are your friends? These are the ones in the keep that were trying to kill us because they were offbound to Vaughan Dad. Hmm. Well,
00:39:15
Speaker
We're not going to do that to you. OK, that's reassuring to know. Are you going to kill them? No, God, no, that's that's that's why you're going to kill us. I mean, I mean, don't get me wrong. Everyone was trying to kill each other and we we saved them and stopped from dying because for that didn't seem quite right. And yet when they were attacking us, don't quite seem right killing them.
00:39:43
Speaker
Nice to know you haven't changed, Emron. Thanks. Emron's going to take another drink of his maiden.
00:39:56
Speaker
Okay, so you are back, but you're walking for Vorn, Dad. Well, loosely, it's for... Money. Personally, it works. Okay, okay, okay, okay. So he's not got your bound to take your soul or your firstborn or whatever in the case of Nyx. It could be seventh floor, you know. He's not like some demon lord. He just has a lot of money and knows how to make deals.
00:40:26
Speaker
And to his credit, got us out of a very awful situation. I did say we should come back, Maroater. I know. It's been six months. Right. OK, OK. You've got to understand, you know, we're we're seeing you guys like you've raised from the dead. And, you know, last time I checked, such things aren't
00:40:57
Speaker
Right. And and it's it's complicated and very complicated. I know of everything you're saying. But from our side as well, this isn't easy. And then we went into the forge and there was smoke and people would. Someone tried to hit me. Somebody did hit me. I hit you. Well, I'm not sure who I hit. Question for the DM.
00:41:27
Speaker
Rains at this point is just seeing Nix's like we shouldn't have come back and thinking about when Nix else could have gone. Last time we were in Goldview, what state was the Esmeralda in, this ship? Because obviously it was being repaired the last time we were all together, but that was six months ago. So what state was the Esmeralda? Was it still there? What happened?
00:41:47
Speaker
As far as you're aware, I don't know if you ever spent much time looking for it or looking at it. I didn't knew of it because Nick spoke quite glowingly of it and it was quite a distinctive ship, so we knew it was there. I mean, unless there was anything distinct to drag you down to the docks. Last time I was in the vicinity of the docks, would I have noticed it was there? And that could have been a non-descript amount of time ago that I was last in the docks.
00:42:12
Speaker
Yes, you would have seen it there because of its distinct gold colouring and metallic effect. Weeks, months. What's the time frame? We're probably looking at, you probably did a trip down there, a supply run down there a month ago. A month ago, that ship of yours was still there Nick.
00:42:39
Speaker
That means anything to you. I don't know why I say that, but yeah, the Esmer order a month ago, the repairs were coming along quite nicely, but we're still there. That is good to hear. Thank you, Rains. You're welcome. Right. Okay. So we've got a few things to deal with. Did you go on board? Nah, no. We didn't think from the way you took to me that they were the type of folk who would well take well
00:43:09
Speaker
You didn't go see their show. No, we we are busy ourselves. We haven't spent much time. We've only done supply runs into the city. We've I what you can call rat bait and monster hunting but that's that's and I've also well, I remember what you said Marauder about their arable land at the back there. It's a potato field now.
00:43:40
Speaker
Oh, and that's nice to hear. And Elmer, this plow, I've been able to make out. Oh, that machine. Yeah, it has the means to tend the earth and it can pummel it. What's wrong? Well, it's supposed to be a testament. It says fiss of a roller on the side, just ignore it stupidly.
00:44:10
Speaker
Thank you. What did I get? Oh, that doesn't matter. You wouldn't want to know. What's wrong with Alpha? He's been through a lot. We went to do something in the swamps in the north and
00:44:36
Speaker
We found another one of Alpha there, and someone from the Shadow Men, and then they died. And on a monster hunting... A Drake ate one of them and killed the others. Did you fail to look for them? Well, one of them got eaten. Well, hang on, hang on. Next, we looked. We didn't fail to look. We looked.
00:45:06
Speaker
Spent several days, in fact, up and down that coast. Had to convince Alfred to leave. He wouldn't leave. I learnt that I could survive underwater for very extended periods of time while looking for you. Thank you for risking your lives. Anyway, this swamp, you were saying?
00:45:34
Speaker
Yeah, we had to go kill some things in the swamp to lure out this drake that had been causing issues and we did that and then we were waiting for the drake to come out and then two of the people happened upon us in the swamp and it turns out they've been looking for us because one of them was from Shadow Men and one of them was
00:45:58
Speaker
Nakavolo like Alpha which is weird because we built Alpha and we thought he was the only one so that happens then the Drake appeared then the Drake ate the Nakavolo and then Alpha exploded a little bit and the person from the shadow men um died um got a bit angry and
00:46:20
Speaker
yeah and you could throw things about a bit bit bit up shit create without paddle sounds like you've had a very chaotic six months and ours has just been i mean that was just the last 48 hours but so
00:46:36
Speaker
Still very, you know, apt and raw. So you understand us being shocked about you turning up. Our last six months seems quite, you know, just quiet in comparison. Can I ask about
00:46:53
Speaker
Do you think maybe it's time to move on from Orla's contracts? They seem to bring a lot of... We've already come to that conclusion. So our job is we have this idea to go to goblins of Alphas to get some gold. They're called Alpha Clans still. Well we don't know since we only found out about them a matter of hours ago. So that's something still to address by the way. I have been attempting to...
00:47:21
Speaker
look after them myself with brief communication. They seem to be doing quite well, but we could use them for a favor. Anyway, yeah, Alpha indicated we could get money from them. There was also this idea of that dragon horde. You remember when you were here before there was this thing about the dragonling drake thing that spoke to us where you were captured, said that we were wanted by

Reflections and Future Plans

00:47:50
Speaker
I was hoping to go travel there soon. We have this idea maybe if we didn't do go to goblins we'd go to the gold view to get a guide to go south and then try and find this dragon horde and this dragon that was looking for us and maybe some way by going there and doing that we could pay off all this debt. I think was the plan.
00:48:16
Speaker
Quick question before I offer something. Why do you want to steal gold from the Alpha Clan? No, not steal, just... No, we intend to borrow. This dragon is looking for us and was seeking us out. No, from the Alpha Clan. I know about the dragon. My goblins, Emerald.
00:48:37
Speaker
Well, I mean, that was one idea, but I think we'd probably park that idea for... Because technically you own that gold outfit. Like, you just go in and take it. They're your clan. I have not earned it. I would not feel right in taking it. You did earn it that day. You were incredibly impressive. That was a team effort between all three of us. I don't know about that, my friend. I was shit.
00:49:06
Speaker
That is not how I recall it. It took all three of us. It is not. Anyway, there were two ideas to either go to goblins or go to the dragon. Well, if the dragon's still on the cards for you, I was hoping to head there soon. So you're fine with going back to Dralak?
00:49:32
Speaker
my home country, yes. I'm not... It's just the last time you were heading towards Dralek, you were being dragged there by someone who seemed to want you. Oh, I think that was a case of mistaken identity though, to be fair range.
00:49:51
Speaker
I'm struggling with mistaken identity at the minute. I have a very positive relationship with the kingdom that I'm from. Well, that's good, because we don't. I appreciate that. Okay, so I suppose, okay, so, so, you know, Maros is from Dralax, for sure. So we'll be able to guide us and, yeah. And it'll be just like it used to be. How much time do we have? Like we knew each other.
00:50:21
Speaker
Any in question here, we keep saying Fortnite, we recorded for like a year. Is it really two weeks? Is that the canon? Oh yeah, kind of. It's long in character together. Really? You can see how many times we had long rest have been between that and it was all straight from meeting each other so it wasn't long at all.
00:50:38
Speaker
See, I always put it into like recording films, I guess. But it's two weeks of literally being in each other's pockets pretty much the entire time. So it's day and night pretty much. Great. The early nights and people getting nicked and stuff like that. It's been pretty. Yeah, it's all of each other. So as you were. So it's just that was my own B&D shit knowledge. Carry on.
00:51:06
Speaker
please just keep asking, this is, I don't want any dishonesty or feel like you are getting dishonesty. So what was your born dad, was his job
00:51:21
Speaker
Was your job for him to make sure we pay the debt and didn't like Scadado? We've done a bunch since, you know. No, I mean now. Oh, it was an escort and shake up job. We were to help get him here. We were to. I had this brainwave to get back to you guys and just

Comic Relief and Leadership

00:51:40
Speaker
needed a mission to get us close by. Well, this mission came up a shake up of Ola. And why couldn't you just come back?
00:51:50
Speaker
Because we need, well, according to Marota, if we travel as a group, we're protected again as a group, rather than me and Marota betraying Vawndon. I assume as well that Vawndon helped get you back across the border of Sleetguard, which, thanks to the Upcrisker, is not an easy thing to cross anymore.
00:52:14
Speaker
He owned a transport ship that took us back from Moonrise, so he just covered our fare. So he got you past the Obcrisco as well, interesting. It's all above board, it's public transport, it just couldn't afford it. I agree, I agree, but even so, last time we heard the Obcrisco was shaking down anything and everything there, they seemed to be paranoid.
00:52:40
Speaker
Regardless, Marov and me, I guess, risked a lot to come back against my wishes. But here we are. Where did you not wish to come back next? I'm not sure I'm safe or wanted. Safe from whom? You guys.
00:53:09
Speaker
I almost died. I'm still adjusting. And I know that you guys have had a lot going on. Have we ever done anything to harm you? No, but there was distrust. Yeah, we just met you. And you couldn't spin a sentence together without telling a lie, Nix.
00:53:40
Speaker
Well, you can understand my hesitancy of wanting to come back, but there was that, that there was that instance in the other world, you know, with you, you know, that the deal and the creature don't need to lambast me further. I, you said, honesty, I'm just telling you I'm here. Marota convinced me to come back. Marota has been extremely good.
00:54:07
Speaker
I don't wish you guys ill. I'm just on the fence. OK, well, let's let's let's lose this newfound upfrontness with each other. And you used to the one thing I used to get the sense that you were always truthful about with your love for that ship. I've just told you that last I knew it was still there. Not going back. Oh, I plan on going back.
00:54:37
Speaker
but not with you guys. I never said we were coming with you. Right. So we've we've got you two. We've we've spoken to you two. Right. So and everyone will look towards the five other
00:55:02
Speaker
people that are also stood around, not including, well, all that's gone. The other five people sort of stood in a huddle nearby. Now, you lot. They all collectively look at you. So just to clarify, you all seem pretty determined to, you know, kill us all. Is that done?
00:55:32
Speaker
If I may, and one from the center kind of lifts his hand, pulls off the shroud around his face and this kind of unruly mess of red hair kind of pops out. Hello, Cedric here. What may I call you? Emron. Hello, hello, Emron. My name is, I've said that, Cedric. I am an,
00:56:01
Speaker
Acrobat. Well, I was. Yes, weird thing, kind of dying, but not dying. I think we've kind of, yeah, we've kind of agreed that we're pretty sure we've paid off our debt. If we've all technically kind of died, it was to death.
00:56:27
Speaker
Can I give you... Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's good that you've agreed that, that you took this debt with Wandon and he may not feel the same way. I don't want you to come to that decision while, look, I'm going to propose to you a counter situation. There is a bubble afforded by the debt that's on this place. That means whilst you are here and you were working towards
00:56:51
Speaker
But whilst you're here, I believe by London's warp logic that I got from that word dance that I had with him before meeting you, you are safe. Now, there's a convenient thing here that this keep needs upkeep. And we have a lot of empty beds.
00:57:18
Speaker
if you can work your safe, but if you can work for your stay while perhaps some of us aren't here and keep the place from having idiots come and set the roof on fire, like happened while we were away, there could be a path for you to ensure that you're not at Vonden's clutches.
00:57:40
Speaker
He stands still listening to you for this and lifts his left leg, foot up to the side and slaps the side of his boot. It'll be yours before you go any further. You will have as much stake in this place as us and you'll have a bed and you'll have board.
00:58:19
Speaker
bloody well come and take my life, that's what I say. So, because you really don't want my debt as well. Let's just say that. How much do you owe? It's not a competition, but I'll win. How much do you owe? It's not about how much I owe, it's about how much. Yeah, no, no, no. Seriously, how much do you owe, though? Like, what number? Give me a number. Like, one, two, three, thousand, five thousand. What is that? Or I'll just answer the man's question before I...
00:58:24
Speaker
pull my bootstraps up to my ears.
00:58:46
Speaker
Oh, the half link she left ages ago, man. Keep up. Oh, yeah. Oh, she's gone. Alpha perfect memory. It was 3421 pieces. Double it.

Establishing New Norms

00:59:01
Speaker
Do the thing. Double it. 6,842 pieces of gold. Now double it. Fuck off. We're not doing any more than that. Just do the thing with the six plus the six equals the what?
00:59:15
Speaker
Okay, we get it, we get it. No, seriously Callum, do six plus six. This is more fun. Hang on, what was it? 3,400. No, no, just literally do the numbers. Six plus six. Twelve, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now if I'm the square root, no, I'm joking. Now add pi to... That 80 points to itself. That's me. Twelve.
00:59:42
Speaker
And he starts with his arms, like, ahh, mouth over, like, what fucking ridiculous 12,000 gold pieces to put in. Oh, that was not a great idea. And you think you walking away from here, he's going to take your word for it that you died. No, I think he, uh, the Soulbond is dead because I died for a second. I'm pretty sure you, this isn't, I feel renewed. I feel, I feel, I feel like me again. Okay. What do you mean? What do you mean Soulbond was there?
01:00:11
Speaker
Was there magic involved? I'm pretty sure it was. I don't know magic from a magician. It was crazy, crazy shit. I didn't feel like me. I felt like just a zombie man walking down here. Luckily, he didn't take my brains. I've still got them. Still intact, my man. Still intact. Yeah, 12,000 gold pieces, but so bonded. Yeah, it was good to do anything. We all had to do everything, and they're all nodding.
01:00:40
Speaker
But feeling alive again, I'm feeling like me, feeling like good old Cedric Windriders back in the game. So Cedric Windrider, in terms of- Could you take these off, please? And he's going to hold up the bonds that are holding him. I value freedom more than many things in this world. And these are rather making me- Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stop talking, you're standing there, you're taking me. I'll go over and take them off. And I will say to him as well, I'm assuming that's a no from you.
01:01:07
Speaker
Do you want to stay here? Do you want to stay here? Oh yeah. 100%, 100%. I have nowhere else. He's taken everything from me. My family have left and everyone's avoided me for the rest of my life. So, new start, new beginning, new life. This is a full functioning keep and you will have to play your part towards his upkeep. You understand that? Absolutely. I'm very good at pickpocketing. So, anyone any pickpocketing around here?
01:01:28
Speaker
Done. Good. There's an entire field over there. And it's just potatoes, pickpocketing, because they've been coming for months. So we're all good. I like you. I like you. Uh, yeah, I can do some pickety pickety pickety picking at them. Um, I will just say one thing. I can also do this and he's just going to do the splits. I'm just being on the floor, looking up like, what do you think? What do you think? And he's looking at like your crotch because he can't see up that high range. So like, um, I know. Yep.
01:01:58
Speaker
Okay, owners in one night. Oh, you're lucky boy. Alpha do the favor in search of memory bank to see if you can find anywhere in which that useful and rains will just walk along the line and we'll then go. The rest of you would this this keep will fall into disrepair without aid. I should warn you all that if you betray us, everyone will not be sparing you again.
01:02:24
Speaker
The large chap that spoke to you before earlier pulls down the cloth he's got and just shakes his head.
01:02:32
Speaker
I'm sorry. He nods his thanks and slowly trudges, slowly trudges north. The other three remain the silver head, a woman who Renzi approached earlier, and the other two also

Closing Thoughts and Teasers

01:02:50
Speaker
pull down their cloths or material that they had around them and kind of like almost like stretch out, like they're being kind of, not like rebound through like in,
01:03:01
Speaker
Jim Carrey in thingy when he comes up the butthole. No, I'm thinking when he comes up the butthole. Not like that. We're just kind of almost like just shaking off, shuffling off this previous life as the soul kind of returns to them. And you see this kind of long black head, quite slim green eyed human female stand on one side and then this kind of burly short bearded
01:03:30
Speaker
man stood, sorry, more like a halfling F. No, not halfling, no. It's either a short human or a tall dwarf. It's one of those in between heights, definitely. Anyway, you're not really sure yet. And they all kind of stand there in a line looking almost quite sheepish, not really sure what to do with their hands, except Cedric, he's still in a full box split in the front, still holding his hands out. Just kind of like continuing the conversation from the split position.
01:03:56
Speaker
I'd like to think that as Rains has walked on, Alpha is now just like, you can just see Alpha looking at him, processing in the memory bag. I'm still processing everything in the memory bag. Just because it's be useful. Well, actually, Archibald is actually stuck. He can't actually get up. Yeah, Rains, well, just as that happens then, names, all of you. I'm the man, first of all, stands there. My name is Gideon Blackthorn.
01:04:24
Speaker
I'm good with my hands, metal, carpentry, anything of the like. Great, M1 will find the decent use for you. Thank you. Thank you. Shake his hand. The long black head, human female stood next to him, Alessandra Thornridge.
01:04:44
Speaker
I, she smiles, I can talk to animals. That's not a joke, I physically can. That's all I can really do though, so I've worked with healing animals in my past. NC will land on Ranger's shoulder and the ticker tape will just go prove it.
01:05:08
Speaker
you don't don't don't that that's no longer a squirrel sorry that that's it you're now a construct anyway moving on yes it is i it's an abomination yeah but fine thank you it's also a kettle and i'll just keep moving on it's still disturbing you hear as you walk away and finally you come up to the the final person the the um the half elf and the silver hair a silver silver horn a silver silver horn
01:05:40
Speaker
I am whatever, I'm a healer from Moonrise and yeah. Well, we tend to find ourselves in situations where that would be useful and I assume
01:06:05
Speaker
you and then rains will realize he's probably didn't these eyes linger a bit too long and we'll move back to the other female and go and yourself would probably appreciate female quarters accommodation I suppose that's not not around the rest of us they shook
01:06:26
Speaker
Okay, you can divide the great hole how you see fit there are rooms live when you find our rains We've got the the building in the middle. It's empty There's also there Look This has been quite a day I Will level with those of you that are still here that That this place needs its upkeep and as I said, it will be a home for anyone
01:06:57
Speaker
I know what it's like to find yourself, consider to find yourself suddenly without a place in the world and those who are truly honest and he'll glance back to Nixon the writer at this point and friends, new or old, will always have a place here. I think that's a good model for goal pool keep. Friends will always have a place.
01:07:27
Speaker
And Cedric from his still crotched down position in the earth. Hear, hear, he shouts out. I've got a song for the situation. Do you want to hear it? Go on then. I'm going to the forge and, and Ronald's hand to give the forge. A hand up. Good sir. If you'd be so kind as well, I'm a bit stuck here. Help me up. Get me up. Everyone will turn and help him up.
01:07:58
Speaker
And he's going to whisper in the air. My ghoulies were right in the dirt. Everyone will let go of him, look a little bit disgusted and disappointed, and go, yeah, I'll be in the forge. So I'm just going to slap his hands together. Write you three. You heard him. I'm in charge. Let's go sort out some quarters for us all to go. Follow me. Which way are we going?
01:08:28
Speaker
Raines will just point towards the empty building and go, and just FYR, you're not in charge. I'm not in charge, I just don't even... It's a democracy. Yeah, that's why I remember the democracy.
01:08:46
Speaker
Go on then. Let's go! Come on! Move, folk! There's still a door in these lines. As we said, no one's in charge here. Move, please. Come on, Gideon! Gideon! Gideon does not enjoy that at all. Just as they wander on, you kind of hear, I'll raise your hand, cause I let the tavern sing, for we've been saved from boredom, the wretched king, as he wanders off round the corner.
01:09:14
Speaker
taking away the other NPCs, so I haven't got to do their voices. And leaving Marota, Nix, Alpha and Rains watching M1 walk away to the Forge. Is there anything else you guys want to say to each other? I assume you two will be staying as well, or at least I hope you will. If you'll welcome us, if not, we can head back to Goldview.
01:09:43
Speaker
No, you know, come into the hall, we'll find something for dinner. I assume you're hungry. Yes. Thank you. And thanks. I'll mention it. I know that this must be really difficult for all of you. It's difficult for us too. Let's eat.
01:10:13
Speaker
sleep and then make a decision in the morning as to where we're going on what we're doing. I think that's the smart thing. Okay.
01:10:24
Speaker
as you make your way towards the main hall where it feels like we've been here for ages and yet only a matter of hours have passed. If that, the sun moving further into early afternoon in the sky, as parties reunited, new friends made, new NPCs voiced. That's why we're going to end it for this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop.
01:11:05
