What's calludo? Isn't that a calludo?

Introduction and Welcoming

00:00:30
Speaker
Hello and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Table Talk. My name is Mark, I'm the DM for this session and all the sessions leading into the future. Welcome. Or we kill you. Yes, that has been known to happen actually. A Matrix style, turning on the creator. I think it may be Calludo. Calludo? Yeah, and then we can have another

00:00:48
Speaker
game. They didn't mean Cluedo.
00:00:50
Speaker
What's Caludo? Isn't that called Caludo? Yeah, it's called Caludo. Is it called Caludo? It's called Caludo. Have I just realised something? Welcome to the Fellowship of Tabletop where we discuss how Ian mispronounces tabletop games this week.
00:01:05
Speaker
Cluedo. No, it's cluedo. You're just shooting on my childhood. You think, like, when people collude and it's... Maybe. No, it's like a clue. You find a clue, lots of them. Cluedo. Well, now that you say it, it makes perfect sense. Like, it's not even going to care at this time. I don't question myself. I question my parents. It's a wee. What's that a wee? It's done, it's done. I mean, I always played Monopoly anyway.
00:01:36
Speaker
Oh my god, this has gone downhill quickly. Welcome to this week's episode. I think we learned some of the etymology of the word Cluedo there. But anyway, just to quickly introduce those we've got around us, the same four that we've had in the last couple of episodes. Thank you for joining us, by the way. Firstly, on my left, who plays Drago, we have IAM. What up? We've got Dan, who plays Robin. Yeah, that's what you need to say. Moving on, we've got Will, who plays Elphae. Hello, Will. Hello. And we've also got Callum, who plays Shader. IAM, the master of missus. Oh, lordy.
00:02:01
Speaker
Thank you.
00:02:05
Speaker
and I'm gonna put it on my face. Darren you're doing our recap.

Drago's Mysterious Encounter

00:02:10
Speaker
Off you go. Okay so where we picked off, Drago had finished his ultimatum with an old man and a small Yorkshire terrier. He decided at that point to try and omit his new fear dragon breath, which by the way you can pick up from Zamphar's guide. This did not work on the old man but it did cause a small Yorkshire terrier to
00:02:39
Speaker
old man at which point he continued to walk off in just the direction in which he was heading back over to us we decided that we would leave the kind of
00:02:48
Speaker
mammoth kind of walled area, and we would head over to some forestry that we saw in the distance. We got there, we managed to find a deer, we managed to have camp in a nice area, all was good. Back over to Drago, he finds this kind of black tent in the wilderness, at which point he finds a kind of pale gaunt man inside who has very dark black

The 'Simioclar' Revelation

00:03:11
Speaker
eyes. All the man could say was the Simioclar. Simioclar. I'm at no point asking you, you can't be clear though.
00:03:21
Speaker
I'm so glad that I'm the one who gets to edit this podcast. Send you that car. And then as he was finishing off, he's kind of resending things, the man disappeared mysteriously into kind of a furial nothingness. Dragga, at which point, took the man's cloak and continued to walk into the wilderness on the rain. At which point, he noticed a piece of paper on the inside of the cloak.

Battle with Water Elementals

00:03:42
Speaker
Upon reading it, it said, Erica's. And the paper disintegrated.
00:03:48
Speaker
over at the camp, all was going well. Shayla then took the first watch of the evening, at which point the ground around her started to turn to water, and the water rose, and eventually these two water elementals appeared. Combat ensued, some wonderful synergy, monk fighter rogue synergy.
00:04:07
Speaker
At which point the elementals die, they drop to nothing. Calum just stuck his finger at me. Could I assume he thought I was cute? I was going to mention that he tried to frenzy an action surge with five attacks. And what was the armor class of these creatures? Like 14. I managed to miss. What we're going to pick up the story is with our dragonborn at the moment as he starts to trudge through the darkness with no night vision, no torch, no nothing. He falls off a cliff and dies.
00:04:39
Speaker
He continues to walk, his eyes trying to adjust to it. The moon is actually quite visible at this time. So you can actually manage to make out bits and pieces but your perception would be a disadvantage if I asked you to roll for it. As you continue to walk
00:04:52
Speaker
You have a couple of moments where your footing kind of leads you slightly off the cliff side. You manage to pay more attention and walk along the cliff edge, moving away slightly. But as you do get closer, you notice down at one of the beach heads from however far you've walked, now you've lost track, a small torch on the beach. It seems like a slight, small open flame with a figure near it. What a track to do. Head towards the figure.
00:05:14
Speaker
okay this would involve lowering yourself down the cliffs or climbing down somewhere if you from your current perspective can find no way to get down do you want to go for that yes okay so be an athletics check i'm going to say disadvantage because you have very low perception because you can't see where you'll be putting your hands and feet very clearly wow that's a natural one so your d46 it's a d6 for every
00:05:43
Speaker
Take that, that figure on the beach is going to get a really good show. At seven points of bludgeoning damage as you fall, it isn't too bad, it rolled two ones annoyingly, as you fall the first feet, you put your first foot down, it slips into the air, you thud the ground. Luckily, it's relatively soft sand, it still causes some damage, and your leg catches one of the rocks, but you take the seven points of damage. Okay. You hear a voice from the beach as it turns around, who's there?
00:06:09
Speaker
The wind starts to pick up and the waves crash down as you're on the beach. Are you injured? No! Are you? That looked like a pretty nasty fall! It's but a scratch! But a scratch! This is awful weather! Absolutely! Who are you? I don't recognise your voice. I'm new here to this part of the world. There's a pause for a moment.
00:06:35
Speaker
as the figure doesn't seem to move. New! There's no one new on this island! Have you ever seen me before? The figure turns around, you know, it's the first time as a female, as a human, wearing this kind of green, over-cloaked poncho, quite similar to that of your old man. And she kind

Helya's Isolation Story

00:06:54
Speaker
of looks up through the misty rain and holds the torch a little higher as she tries to get a good look at you, and then she quickly realizes that you're this dragonborn.
00:07:02
Speaker
No, I haven't seen someone like you before. Then that does suggest that I'm new here. Yes, I mean I wasn't disputing that. Your nose is bleeding, is it from falling off the cliff? Perhaps. What is this place? The Osran Islands.
00:07:20
Speaker
How did you come to be here? Is there more of you or is it just you? But you mean here on this beach? Yes. On this beach there is just me. What about your home? Where do you live? I live here on the Osrin Islands. And unfortunately if you're looking for some kind of grouping of us, I am the last. I'm the only one.
00:07:51
Speaker
A Simulacra.

The Legend of Rezar Wavetamer

00:07:52
Speaker
Mean anything to you? My rice cup. Does it swell up? Well up. Well up. It's not swell up, I'd be weird. Well up, ever so slightly. A Simulacra, yes. What happened here? Listen, before I get into this, I will tell you as I haven't spoken to anyone in quite some time. Would you mind? I have a book here. I take it out fishing. Stay on the coast, but I can't. I don't dare go inland much anymore.
00:08:19
Speaker
Would you care to join me and at least it'll be warm there? Of course! And you wade out, and out slightly is a small fishing boat that has almost a tent built onto the back of it. It's a bit more secure, the waves don't quite crash onto it. She seems to be quite the expert with her boat anyway. As you climb on board, she pulls back her hood, and you do see this relatively young woman. She's gonna invite you on, get you up into it. And Helia, by the way. Drago. Nice to meet you, Drago. Nice to meet you, Helia. Helia.
00:08:48
Speaker
Hey, the assault breath, you must know. Just Drago, if you... you must know. Oh, nice to meet you, Drago. I, uh... I can honestly say it's very nice to meet you. I don't really know where you were heading, but I'm not here to ask those kinds of questions. What you must know about this... How did you come here? I wish I could tell you. As far as I know, I'm not from anywhere near here. I was... me and my companions.
00:09:16
Speaker
we were transported here by some otherworldly means a god perhaps we just woke up on the beach and that must have been two or three days ago and we've been trying to figure out where we are more importantly why we're here we don't know anything about this place me and my comrades had some disagreements in how we go about trying to find out
00:09:47
Speaker
I've met perhaps one of your own on the road, an old man and his dog. He didn't give me anything, but he did want us to survive for three days in some mock ass of a trial that I refused to do. And then I came across this gaunt, shadowy man.
00:10:10
Speaker
who said similar crap to me before dissipating into nothingness. I took his cloak that you see here and wrapped it around me. In there was a letter that said, Eraqas. And then that also dissipated. And now I've come upon you. And you're the first person to give me any information. So you already have my thanks. And anything more you can give me would help me and my friends. Comrades. I used the term friends lightly.
00:10:38
Speaker
He takes a moment to take all this in, and then she looks up. Who you met? His name is Rezard Wavetamer. He, uh... Well, he's been dead for at least ten years. What you saw was not a real man. This was a... They use the word simulation.

Ereka's Magical Disturbances

00:11:01
Speaker
Some kind of...
00:11:03
Speaker
You play on the eyes that make something appear before you. Sometimes these beings appear on the island and they go wrong.
00:11:15
Speaker
It sounds like you met this other figure, seemed to have been one of those simulations that have gone wrong. I've come across one as well and they do, they just scream or shout or make the noise and say Simulacra, Simulacra, which I believe is something to do with it. They're not working properly as these reflections of real people. I don't know where they come from but as far as I'm aware this
00:11:40
Speaker
Eraqas is to blame for it. Now, I see your face, you want to know who he is? And I can tell you, he used to be one of us. You mean one of you island folk? One of us islanders, yes. Many years ago. We started calling him the Lunatic as a joke, really, to begin with. He started playing with magic and playing with the undead. And playing with the arcane. And slowly it consumed him.
00:12:05
Speaker
until there was nothing left of the Erecus we knew and all that was left was the power-hungry Magi that remained. He's no longer on the island, he's on one of the smaller islands off to the southeast of here. A place called Fallholt is where most of our resources used to come from. There he's taken on refuge somewhere
00:12:31
Speaker
It's not a very big island, I'm sure you'd find it. And it continues to haunt us and those that have survived. We don't speak. If there are more than one of me, I don't speak to them. I see shadows, I see figures on the island and I don't speak to them. What happened here? Why is there only one of you? Or a few of you? Many years ago we had something called the disappearing. When people just started disappearing. And one by one
00:13:01
Speaker
people fell away one by one people lost trust in those around them as people appeared then disappeared into smoke no one could trust who was real or who wasn't real there was infighting there was killing the next thing we know we had splintered across the island and ever since my father died I've just kept myself to myself and stayed on my boats came on shore to collect wood and then
00:13:27
Speaker
Stayed on my boat. And tell you, Drago, since I met you, that's... How long ago? Since you last saw your father? Six years ago.

Drago's Confrontation Plan

00:13:40
Speaker
You've been alone all this time? Yes. Have you never thought about going out to talk to this Eraqas?
00:13:50
Speaker
No. Was he the cause of this disappearing? Well, I don't know for certain. I'm just a simple girl, but I can only make that assumption. But that is the case. I dared go there. My boat could reach the island, but I have no strength. I have no prowess with weaponry. Not like yourself, Drago, where the looks of that huge weapon on your back. You wouldn't if I took you there.
00:14:22
Speaker
Could you do something about this? I... I think I could. This Eraqus sounds like maybe the reason why we're here. How magical would you say he was? Well, I... A sorcerer. I wouldn't be able to tell you the distinct type of magic he uses. I'm not proficient or know much about it. It was magic that brought us here. So I can only assume that he'll be magic that brings us back.
00:14:49
Speaker
That would seem to make sense in a roundabout kind of way to me. If you can speak to him about it, I'd be sure, but... Would you take me over to this island? Of course. Now, you mentioned your comrades. Eraqas has...
00:15:05
Speaker
powerful allies from the sound of things. Do you want me to stop by somewhere and pick up your friends if they are in a place you know? Because you might not want, as strong as I'm sure you are Drago, I'm sure if you want to face this danger alone. Drago kind of just arches his arms up and kind of points his nose to the air.
00:15:29
Speaker
and sniffs deeply. Just before you say that, I can just imagine the boat's kind of rocking quietly and the camera zoomed out as you stretched and you just hear a slight voice inside, don't be a dick, Drago. Bring the party back together and we'll come back this time again and joke. Will Drago be a dick and you will die? You do you. The boat might catch eyes if you say no.
00:15:53
Speaker
You already see a glowing quest icon. It says, you know when you've played Deathly, it says your party's too small for this. Your fire team's too small for this quest. Need a bigger fire team. You're going on a raid, man. Simulacra. What does that mean?
00:16:09
Speaker
My only assumption is there's something to do with the spell or magic you might be using. I don't know much more than that, unfortunately. It only... people already said that after he left, or after he started playing with magic. After people started disappearing, either in puffs of smoke like this chap you saw, or the ones we came across after Edicast became the Lunatic. This Rishyaad wave, Tamer, that spoke to me and my companions,
00:16:38
Speaker
Is he or was he good? And why has he told us we had to wait three days for some kind of trial when he's not even alive? It, to me, makes sense that Rezad is speaking to you about when I recast his behalf. This is Erekas playing a game with you on your companions. Are you saying they are in danger?
00:17:04
Speaker
Absolutely. If not already dead, they are in grave danger. This is how he starts it. I had friends approach me and say something similar. I quickly left the island and took my time in the seas to try and figure out what to do and then returned. I've never stayed longer than a couple of hours on the island ever since. Earlier.

Emotional Relief for Helya

00:17:32
Speaker
You have done me a great favour in giving me this information. Especially when it's been a hard toil trying to find out anything about this place. I agree. I will help you. Because I think it's the only way that I can probably get back home.
00:17:49
Speaker
And just as you say that, her hands kind of go in, her head kind of drops a little bit and she covers her face with her hands and starts to just shake ever so slightly. She starts to quietly sob to herself in kind of relief that someone's finally been helping her. Drago freezes and slowly takes her hand and reaches out almost to pat her shoulder and then hovers it there
00:18:19
Speaker
and then freezes, draws it back, and just goes, you've been strong six years by yourself. There's no need to change that now. You got this. And it will be over soon. She looks up at you, tears in her eyes, and just, thank you, thank you, Trago. I just, I'm so happy you're here.
00:18:48
Speaker
Thank you. She's kind of taken aback by the pure honesty and almost humbled by it so doesn't reply with any dick comment, just kind of a silent nod as he respects. What this woman has gone through. And she kind of wipes her eyes away. So I need to return to my colleagues, comrades, friends, whatever we call them now.

Uneventful Night Watch

00:19:12
Speaker
Cow! Adventurers, companions, companions, companions, companions. Do you guys want to come on this? The D.M.O.L. Scott, the Euro plan has killed me. I mean, I'm happy to take a Robin and Shader.
00:19:29
Speaker
You'll meet a half-food bar on the island, and he'll be amazing. And I will slay you. I'm assuming, sorry guys, the other three of you, I'm assuming this is going to happen in the night whilst you are fighting that water elementals and then through the night. I imagine we then rest after that if you want to skip the morning. Yes, that's good. So, shields come off.
00:19:47
Speaker
Wipe her eyes. Back to her den and ever so quickly she whips up the central pole of the tent up and then she just pulls itself up into a sail and instantly she turns around and starts pulling on one or two of the oars to get the bike moving, very quickly catches the wave, sorry catches the wind and instantly starts going off. Which wave from here do you think?
00:20:11
Speaker
I travelled from a west direction, so anything down west... East to me! You're going back on yourself! Yes! That sounds good. How could she see? The wind... I'm sorry. How could she see? Have you done things, man?
00:20:27
Speaker
She can see by the stars. She spends her life on the water. I spend my life on the water, Drago, you see. That's how I can see in the dark. I didn't ask, but I'm glad that you can. Do you mind if I sleep? Yeah, absolutely no problem. If you follow the coastline down, you should come to an area that's been heavily footmarked. We looked for wood and timber on the island that we were washed up on. So you should see tracks, especially if you, as you say, this has been a deserted place.
00:20:56
Speaker
So you should see where we landed. There's about, there was five of us. I'm gonna go and rest now if that's okay. Right, you are. I think I know what you mean. Can we call it the open cove with the rocks to the right? Yes, I think I know the area. Black is the night, all the sand. Yes.
00:21:14
Speaker
I know the place! Good. You don't remember shit, do you Ian? I'm just glad that I found someone at home. Ian is exposing Ian his lack of knowledge. I know, but otherwise he's rewarded a big circle about it. Two years later. Drag her up, I continue to walk. Ah, the fact that you're taking her to the place that we've walked a day from.
00:21:35
Speaker
It's the nearest if we're going by the water. You guys moved inland, it's the easiest route. It is, yeah indeed. And she quickly picks up the winds and the waves as well. This is quite a small craft that she manages to kind of half surf down these waves. These are big waves now as you get round the area. You do manage to finally nod off to sleep, but every now and then you are going to spray with the salt water as she kind of rides these waves and the wind carries as well. It's almost like she's kite surfing with this small vessel.
00:22:02
Speaker
Nothing you've ever really seen or seen, you've never seen someone handle a ship or vessel like this before. It seems so unorthodox, so alien to you, the way in which she's not facing forward, she's facing backwards, the swell of the water behind her, and looking at the back, not even really looking forwards at all. The whole process which she's doing is very, very strange, but you do kind of get used to imagine yourself there.
00:22:26
Speaker
as you skim around the edge of the island, making some quite good at speed. Just jumping back quickly, I assume we've then, we've continued with the watch pattern we had. Can I just ask then, for that watch pattern, I believe it was Talia and Robin taking their watch for my outfit. Do you want to take your perception jet with advantage for that night watch? I will forget my arrows. Yes, I assume.
00:22:49
Speaker
you pick them up anyway yeah and we'll say just for argument sake that the white the first arrow you missed in the last battle that that's that one's gone that silver arrow is gone the others are you managed to collect it okay it's like I get your perception Shrek please. Staling with Moana. Oh yeah it's very Moana. I think it's original.
00:23:11
Speaker
Your watch passes with that struggle and then you wake up healthier from his meditative states, healthier. You want to just both roll or perception check. Your perception check please. In that case that is 18. 18, thank you very much. Your watch also passes without any other trouble. We can reset all our stats, health, levels of exhaustion, chi points, everything like that, including
00:23:36
Speaker
Drago a long rest. I'll give you that as well for the journey round No, we weren't actually sorry sorry sleep You get to sleep. You don't get you get the benefits of a short rest I'll give you so you can give this out You can roll a hit dice to get some more hit points back if you want But you don't gain any other stats if I'm wrong Well, no so he could he could sleep
00:24:04
Speaker
but it just doesn't get the benefit of a long rest. Yes, yes. You could let him sleep. So I'm like saying you're getting four hours sleep, which isn't enough to replenish everything, but you don't have to suffer from, you know, lack of sleep, okay? Awesome. So if you wish to spend a hit, you have 9D12. No, 8D12, because you're level eight, so you can roll one and take that.
00:24:24
Speaker
So, before the sun rises, you feel the boat pull up to somewhere, and she quickly gives you a quick hit. Draggle! Draggle, we're here! That was... That was quick. I don't fuck around! She quickly pulls the mistake and sticks it into the ground to keep her boat on. Which direction do we go from here? Oh no.
00:24:46
Speaker
Morning fog. It's not morning yet, it's still dark. No idea, I've already food. Food? No, no food on me, not yet. What do you eat? I eat very little when I need to. I've got some dry rations on the ship if you must eat.
00:25:01
Speaker
Oh, it's okay. Just give me a moment. Drago, am I on the boat? Yes. She's off the boat waiting for you. Drago leans over and splashes some water on his dragon-blend face. And as he does so, he flips his head back in slow motion as the drops of water glisten in the stars and the moon shakes in slow motion because he's being a hero to this girl that's had no contact with anyone for six years. She's not totally impressed with that. She'd have rolled an eight. So she's like, yeah.
00:25:30
Speaker
Still the director. She's a bit racist. These islanders are a bit racist, you know? She's like, I would, but he's a dragon, so... A bit weird. Not about her life. I bet you didn't see that, obviously. You're busy, you know, playing Baywatch. Are we ready? Yes, yep. Alright, and then Draggo makes his way off the boat and observes the area to see if this was indeed the place where him and his companions were. Watched ashore, as it were. As you look through, this is kind of late night.
00:25:59
Speaker
The sun's just starting. You can see little bits and glooms of light in the air, actually. You look around, you can't really see much at all. LES sees this happening as well, sparks up a torch and passes it. Maybe this will help. And passes that to you so you can see. And quite clearly in front of you, you can see no track marks, but you can see the pieces of collection of wood further at the beach that you had collected earlier on then dumped. Some of which you picked up the biggest bits. You left some of the others.
00:26:27
Speaker
on a pile up on the beach, you notice the clear sanding, notice the rocks start to form as it kind of moves upwards towards the area. So yes, you are in that place. Elliot, this is the right place. Good navigating. I mean, you're more than welcome to join me or you can stay on your boat. It's up to you. But I'll be walking and following the tracks of my missing companions. Thank you.
00:26:50
Speaker
If you wouldn't mind, I'll stay with you. I haven't spent that long on the island. I'd rather be with someone with a massive sword than on my own, if that's okay. That's understandable. Understandable. I mean, on the boat, the other bus. I don't know what a bus is. I don't know why I said a bus. I'm a bit nervous, you see. I haven't been this far south on the island for quite some time. Let's get going. Ellie, Adrago just puts a hand up to kind of silence him. You're safe. It's okay. I know how to handle myself. Okay. Apart from cliffs, obviously.
00:27:17
Speaker
Well, maybe you should stare at her back. I'm joking. Yes, I'm joking. Don't bother me. I've fallen down that many times myself. Let's get going then. Okay. And Drago kind of leans away with his torch. Quiet over his head. So how many of you were there before people disappeared?
00:27:36
Speaker
A couple of hundred, actually. We were a number of groups. We had a place called Naxvah that was in the northwest of here. If you had continued the way you were walking, you would have come across the lagoon. Across the lagoon is a smaller spit of land and we were on the very edge of that Naxvah. It's all gone now, eaten by either the sea or by our own greed and mistrusting each other. So I was, in fact, heading nowhere.
00:28:01
Speaker
Absolutely, yeah, you would have reached nothing and then probably just I don't know really what you were intending on doing but there was nothing there Well, clearly fate saw to it that I literally fell in front of you Well that was apt, if your word choice actually drago as well Do you know where your friends went? We made our way into a forest near here, the nearest forest from here
00:28:23
Speaker
It was a wooden area. Oh, there's six trees. Yeah, they're just up around there, over there. She points over to a collection of trees. Drag her, walks towards them. But what about any siblings? Mother, you mentioned your father. My mother died when I was very young, actually. So it was just my dad who was raging me. I had a sister, but unfortunately, she didn't stay here very long.
00:28:51
Speaker
She went across the Cold Gulf, so to speak, which is an ocean. Do you not know the Cold Gulf? No. It's what we call the area between here and the Ten Kingdoms. Ten Kingdoms? Yes, the Osvun Islands is just one of eleven. You really know nothing? No. But my sister's in Sweetgard, which is south of here. Sweetgard, you know?
00:29:21
Speaker
I'm really not tired of that. Alina, I'm sorry. No, it's my fault for assuming. Anyway, she's down at Clay Peak in Sitgar, which is one of the outposts on the northern coast of...
00:29:31
Speaker
of the mainland. We're just one island. One island of ten of us. Of a whole realm of places. There's so many places. I haven't been to all of them, but I know of Drakalak to the very south. I know of Moonrise, and of course there's the capital, the Sanguine Lands. But there's so many more. Aside from that and of course there's the Blight. But that's the story for another day at least. What about races? Is there any other Dragonborns?
00:30:00
Speaker
that I've ever seen or heard of but probably it's a very big land I mean anything is possible you get across the wild heart I don't know who could be there but that's thousands of kilometers or thousands of miles or kilometers let's say they use the metric system thousands of kilometers away is there one big kingdom that rules over each place how is this governed most of the time it's it's it's quite simple actually the leader in the sanghui lands rules over everything
00:30:28
Speaker
It's a rough Hawksplitter. He runs everything nowadays, but it was someone else a couple of years ago and someone else a couple of years before then. I don't really keep up with it, you see. Hawksplitter. Hawksplitter. Splitter. The story is he threw his sword and killed a hawk. I don't know if that's true or not, but it sounds pretty fucking brilliant. Yes, you've got some great last names here. Your salt breath.
00:30:52
Speaker
Well, how did you come about that, I wonder? Well, we're a fisherman, so you see. The same way that you might have someone called Bruer for making beer, then we call ourselves what we are. That's how we do things in this land, you see. And Hawkesburter, his name comes from that, I'm not sure. Where I come from, so breath would probably be.
00:31:18
Speaker
That's okay. It's a collection of people. Oh, right. Having regular activities of the athletic kind. She just kind of nods and, like, okay, yep, bit too much information there, Drago, but no problem. So, you have trees now. You have these trees. The sun is just about to rise. I'm about to split back over to you guys. Right, they're not here. I didn't expect them to be. They would have headed off in the... shit. Which direction did they go, Drago?
00:31:47
Speaker
East. To the east. To the cliffs over there. Can I check the grounds for any tracks? You can do a history check if you want to. If you can remember two days. Yes. Okay, go on. Give me a history check to see if you remember. Thank you. I will tell you whether or not you remember or not. I will not tell you which direction. So it's pay if you're not making notes.
00:32:08
Speaker
That's a 14. Yes, you remember as your mind goes back. You remember Elfie going... Okay, fine. We'll go north-west. North-east. North-east. Your mind plays rich with you. Despite you being a cartographer, you're really bad at this. Yeah, I know. We'll go north-east, north-east. Towards the ruins. The ruins. They went towards a collection of ruins towards the north-east. By the forest? Yes. Okay.
00:32:35
Speaker
But I could go in there, it's a bit of a walk. Aye, follow me. Okay, and they start making off in that direction. So on that, the sun is just about to rise on the horizon, and Elphir, you notice the sun about to rise, the weather actually starts to clear up the first time since you've been there.

Unusual Weather Observations

00:32:53
Speaker
But you notice that in your time in meditative state, you can hear Talia quietly
00:32:58
Speaker
It's kind of snoring in the distance there, quietly breathing. You notice these weather formations move very quickly. They're always very violent, they're always very quick and they're quick changes. Which is quite unlike some of the weather you're used to in other places. They kind of come in a burst and then stop for a while. Sorry for slapping or making a loud noise there. It's kind of morning time and it's up to you. What do you want to do?
00:33:18
Speaker
Alfie will go to the trees and do his morning ablutions. Does it go for a poo poo? Yeah, it turns out elves in fact do shit in the woods. But I just thought it would have some realism to the podcast. It's the first character to ever actually have a shit. He's a morning shit too as well. He has a morning, yeah. Try and get an afternoon one.
00:33:37
Speaker
So I'll say one of the solutions and then he comes back and he takes out of his little pouch, a little symbol of a circle of the half moon and he takes a moment just to sort of offer some words of devotion to his god, Sahinin Mumbo.
00:33:55
Speaker
I think he's just trying to centre himself, so he's trying to centre himself, give himself a bit of connection because the last time he had a chance to actually really offer devotion to his goddess was before they went into the Southern Citadel and then everything really just... since the first time he's actually had a chance to sort of...
00:34:13
Speaker
Talk to his God whether he's listening or not, he's another man. Do you want him to respond? Do you want his role of religion too? Are you happy just to offer? No, he does not because he's not a cleric. He doesn't expect an answer. He knows that the gods will listen if they want to listen. All he's doing is thanking him for protecting him so far and to protect his journey so as they go on. But he's not a cleric. He can't talk to the gods if they listen, they listen. That's it, you know? He speaks if they listen, they listen.
00:34:41
Speaker
But he is faithful, so he does do that. Comes back, might stir the fire a little bit and just prepare some of the meat just to get them ready for them.
00:34:52
Speaker
Morning. Okay. And as that happens, the rest of you slowly start to kind of rouse as the sun continues to rise, the brightness and the noise of some of the birds in the distance start to stir you. As you wake up, Robin and Shader and Talia slowly wake up, Talia probably last of all being a grumpy teenager. We're probably trying to sleep for 8 billion hours. This will be the last to rise. So Robin and Shader, excuse me, you are now up on the right.
00:35:15
Speaker
What do you have to do? Shader's first instinct would basically be to wake up, clear his head, and then go for food. So he would go straight to whatever concoction may be remaining from last night. It shouldn't be anything whether it's meat or to do or whatever the hell. Healthy are actually made. And start chowing down.
00:35:34
Speaker
Okay, so Shane, I was off taking full advantage of the already cooked fawn from the day before that you cooked relatively alright. Not your best meal actually, but still edible for now. Robert, how about yourself? I would go over to Talia and I would say those creatures, have you ever fawned anything like that before?

Talia Reflects on Growth

00:35:56
Speaker
To be honest, I haven't really fought much since, well, since ever, really. I mean, I've fought some things in my past, but nothing quite like that. How are you feeling about it all? I mean, it's nothing weirder than that creature we fought in that house. Time. As the winds make a crackling noise through the trees, they sound like a pencil rolling across the table.
00:36:19
Speaker
Do you remember a while ago when we, with that old man in the little house and he turned into that demon? That's the strangest thing I've seen. That still keeps me awake at night. But no, I haven't thought anything that isn't like breathing, not like that before.
00:36:36
Speaker
It was an old woman or was it an old man? If you remember, sorry listeners, this was a call back to a history episode we did a while ago. The party came across an old man and they were asked, it was in Yata and they were asked to capture him and take him back to tribal. No, just kill him. Just kill him.
00:36:53
Speaker
I wanted to kill him a button. The old man convinced him that wasn't the case, but actually when he burned himself he realised he was a shapeshifter and he was actually, in fact, a lesser demon, which the Bytes then had to fight, which was the creature of the Tarnia. The first creature of the Tarnia was for the party to properly fight. So that was the one that really still scares me, Robin, if I'm being honest. That water was dangerous and poor, poor Shada being stuck in it.
00:37:21
Speaker
No, it didn't scare me particularly. Have you fought anything like that before? Well, I've encountered elemental monsters before. Where was that? We're on a boat back from London. It doesn't matter. The thing I want to say to you is that I'm sorry that you've been called up in this. Well, it seems to be a running thing in my life that I run into folk like you or run into problems
00:37:49
Speaker
whenever I'm around ever since I was a child actually so it's no worry it's it's part of who I am now and what are you running from? I'm not really running from anything I'm running to something which is vengeance and home and some kind of rest from
00:38:14
Speaker
I don't know, I don't want to talk about it. She's going to take a couple of steps away from me and kind of walk towards the edge of the forest a little bit. I watch her go and I turn back and I take out the scrolls, continue to study. To Elthir, having a minute of fire, well in Elvish go, there is a lot more to that girl than meets the eye. I reply in Elvish, I feel sorry for her.
00:38:47
Speaker
she's growing and you know if there is anything we can do to help someone like her achieve her true potential then let's at least do our best we can but you're right I do feel responsible as well
00:39:01
Speaker
All we can do is do our best for her. She's kind of kicking rocks around the edge of the space, kind of looking out, picking up sticks. And then she settles down on the edge, facing away from the group and just kind of opens up her spell book and looks over it and kind of closes it again and just starts kind of stroking the cover of it.
00:39:18
Speaker
before you come looking off into the distance a little bit. Elphil will switch back to common, as Shader is just noisily going into his food. So, what do we feel our plan should be?

Quest for Civilization

00:39:34
Speaker
Explore? We could explore, we could keep this as our base camp to come back to at night.
00:39:40
Speaker
I think it's a sensible place. Well, I thought that until the other day. Well, that could just be the fact that these creatures, that could be sheer chance, but they still seem to be the best place for us to camp unless we find a better one. We could always just leave some wood here, just because we do come back, so we don't have to do search for any, but keep moving if we find a better place. Perhaps you could
00:40:06
Speaker
You can use those boots of yours to get up into the trees and just have a look around. And I feel as if the greater perspective we keep on our surroundings, the better. Something doesn't sit right about this place. Well, OK. It doesn't sit right. Wait, you did that yesterday. What are we looking for? We looking for... How much could have changed? What are we looking for, people? Well, some form of civilisation would be nice at some point. What about those mouths? Do you think they have just the one on its own? What if it comes back here?
00:40:37
Speaker
That thing was massive! If one were to consider though, Amara surely must have found some place to call home that is sheltered to an extent, has fresh water. So do you want to go back on ourselves and pick up the moment tracks? I think it's a decent place to start. It's the best idea we've got so far. I don't mind doing that. I couldn't go and follow the tracks. See what they get to us. You in agreement, Talia? Yeah!
00:41:07
Speaker
I mean... We'll find it, we'll find out. But I'm quite interested in answering. Yeah, let's see where they live. Agreed.
00:41:17
Speaker
So, we're going back to the ruins. Mm. In that direction. Well, it's like heading back to the ruins. Unless we find the tracks beforehand, yeah. Right, OK. When she goes off and starts to pack up her own belongings, it's probably taking hours or so just to pack everything up. I hope the camper gets in there. He'll... I'll make sure we've got some wood sort of piled up under trees so it doesn't get too damp just in case we come back. OK. Sort of having just a wood pub prepared to make things easier. That's what else they would do. OK, cool.
00:41:47
Speaker
So we start heading back to the ruins, or if not before, to pick up the trout. Just so I know for the journey, could you just give me, what was the most passive perception? I think it was the highest one. I think it was maybe 16, 18, 17. Whatever you want to be, baby. Passive perception is 16. 16. Okay. So as we start to... Let me just make a cheeky roll. Okay, yep. As we start to make our way back,
00:42:15
Speaker
towards the ruins to try and pick up the man of tracks and we start making our way back through the forest. You can see the kind of wet outprints still of plants and small shrubbery kind of being pushed over by where this, these elementals would have come through from the previous night. You can tell they came through from the direction of the sea. You figure that out, that kind of route they've come through now. And so you can assume they've came out of the water and made their way quickly across the ocean directly towards, across the land directly towards you.
00:42:45
Speaker
As you start pushing your way out, unfortunately you can't make out any other tracks until you get back to the ruins. When you come to the ruins, yes, you can quite distinctly see the amount of tracks heading north from your current location. So you've kind of come back on yourself southwest, and now you can see, so you've come in at kind of like a two o'clock angle towards the centre of the watch, clock, and now you're looking and going, right okay, sharp right turn, directly north, twelve o'clock. That's the track you need to take at that point.
00:43:14
Speaker
Man must go that way. We go with it. So do we. I guess I'm with the same side. Unless anything else happens to be able to be seen from here. Give me some passive perception. Give me a roll for perception please.
00:43:29
Speaker
Let's give all of us a please to see around the place. There we go, yep. 19. Sorry, 19 from outfit. Oh, sorry. Shana, 12. 12 and Robin, 20 not natural. 20, okay. Dang it, I actually set this DC as 20 as well. I was like, only a 20 with...
00:43:46
Speaker
bitch okay right okay oh that's something fun to play okay as you scan through the horizon you look up towards the north to try and see if you can make out where the map werewolves are werewolves the mama werewolves are you okay mama mama mama mama it's fucking hell oh I couldn't say what you have those where the mama
00:44:05
Speaker
a mate. I started in the session with claudo. Mammothi, mammoth. It's not mammoth. Mammoth. When a mammoth swends. I love that. Mammoth, single mammoth. Many mammoths, one mammoth. It sounds like we've got a list for that. Mammoth. As Robin's scanners look across the horizon, he
00:44:24
Speaker
quickly picks out two figures off in the distance from where they have come. They can see a slightly taller figure and then quite a short figure next to them as well off in the distance. We have people on the horizon.
00:44:40
Speaker
Do I notice it's not one of those dogs? No, you just notice one is very tall and one is quite short. It reminds you a little bit of the chap and his dog at the moment from this distance, but I'm talking about they're very far away at the moment. I recommend we don't disturb them.
00:44:59
Speaker
Shader, it could be a good time to try out that cape, maybe we'll think of it. My cape only works at night. So just to reiterate for the listeners there, last season, for some reason I agreed that Shader could find and pick up and loot a cloak which allows him to polymorph into a bat. Only when it's night. A bat also lets me have lots of stealth and advantage on dexterity stealth checks, and I'm only at night.
00:45:26
Speaker
I can now stealthily just take as much damage as I can. And you

Drago's Reunion and Sharing

00:45:30
Speaker
can stealthily miss all your... Don't worry, I could use my own magics to make sure we pass without trace and are untrackable and can't be seen very easily. So, these figures are off there. You can't turn into a bat until it's night unfortunately. What do you guys want to do? What do you think you should do, Robin?
00:45:47
Speaker
What do you suggest? If it's the man and his... If it's the man and his dog, I think there's an opportunity to... To talk to them again. Actually, I would say a possibility to follow them. Well, we have survived this challenge, haven't we? How many days have we been... We're just on the third day. Well, no, one day. Yes, um... Your second day. Perhaps we could look to move closer.
00:46:10
Speaker
Quietly. Shall I have as move stealth with him? We never normally do that. That's because Drago's not with us. Right, yeah. Where is he? I don't know. Probably, falling off a cliff. But I don't think he's that stupid. Maybe talking to a nice NPC, who knows? Perhaps we should. I should not come back.
00:46:38
Speaker
I wish to cast Pass Without Trace. Okay, I'll just explain what... I'll do a Cast Without Trace with a veil of shadows and silence radiates from me, masking you and your companion from detection. For the duration, each creature you choose in 30 feet through, including you, has a plus 10 bonus to dexterity stealth checks and can't be tracked except by magical means.
00:46:59
Speaker
A creature that receives its bonus leaves behind no tracks or other traces of its passage. Lovely, thank you very much. So, that has been activated and that applies to all four. Everyone will be 30 feet from me, yeah. Lovely. Tanya stands for an hour. 31 feet away from you. Tanya, stand real close to me please. Okay. And suddenly she doesn't as well. Now what do we do? We get a better view of direction.
00:47:23
Speaker
Yeah. Okay. And so you're starting to walk towards these two figures. Absolutely. Could you please all give me a stealth chair? I had ten to roll. So entirely about a fourteen. I rolled a four, but I had eight about anyway, which is twelve. And then plus ten, twenty-two. Lovely, thank you.
00:47:41
Speaker
26. 26 and Elphir. 31. And you know what, I thought we were going to get our first 30 of the season out of you right then. 31 is why I had 10 to my stealth plus my roll which is 11 plus the 10 so I stealth for 31. 31. Oh my god. That's incredible. You have seen nothing. I'm technically you're a disadvantage to your checks to see if they've got a cloak of Elphin kind. For you. For just me. I think I don't see you. I want to walk right past you.
00:48:10
Speaker
Oh, I can even get noticed now because it's a kind of advantage. Yeah, it's 30, 33. What was your perception? What was your perception, driver? Oh, 50. So off in the distance, we zoom over to you and he managed to make out what seems to be a small girl in kind of a dark green cloak that's on her back.
00:48:30
Speaker
He's kind of doing one of these, one of these job, he's kind of turning around a bit confused, not really sure which way to kind of do it, tries to like, make a tree and kind of doing that and kind of talking to something unknown. You can make out that, that individual and you can, from the distance, make out that it could be Charlie. Yeah. Okay. And at the time, our little friend is just kind of talking at you by her family and things like that and just kind of, I motion a finger to my left.
00:49:03
Speaker
For a moment. Helya? Oh, Helya! Helya. And I point out the distance we go. I don't know if you can see, but there's movement ahead of us. Oh no. It's okay. I haven't checked these places before, but from your own words, this isn't a very populated island. No. I'm willing to bet that that's one of my comrades.
00:49:30
Speaker
Looks kind of familiar. Maybe it's this girl Talia that we were with but still there is a need to approach of caution Absolutely. Okay. I'll be behind you then and you neither way. I withdraw my great sword. Fuck me that's huge
00:49:47
Speaker
I, with a knowing nod, at that... I just kind of want to go phrasing. I walk towards Talia. Okay, Talia doesn't have to shoot. And she's still there trying to kind of blend in with everyone else. And as they've gotten a bit... Let me know when I get close enough. She can't... She likes her... Where the fuck is everybody else going? So why they've gone and then she still doesn't know she's drug-o. And when I'm in voice range, I'll shout out.
00:50:11
Speaker
Okay, let's say you're in boys' range. Let's say you're in boys' range now, then. You guys are busy. We're looking at them. We can see them approach. At this point, you are pretty sure it's Drago, but you're not 100% and you're still in your kind of stuff, mate. No. Talia, is that you? She spins around. It's me, Drago. Hey. You hear from a distance. What are you doing?
00:50:42
Speaker
It's got a whispers to you guys. There's someone else right there. Who is it? I can make one. Jada! I can only see me. Jada, get out here. Jada, he's calling, you know. Oh, for the love of God, I recognise her voice anywhere.
00:50:55
Speaker
And Shader will basically just not pick up any kind of special pace, but not too bothered about being stealthily anymore and just start plowing forward. And he's still stopping to shout at this. Shader's not bothered. He recognises Drago's voice. He recognises that there is no temperament, no kind of yell in his voice at all. It's just a normal Drago voice that says,
00:51:17
Speaker
I'm here to stop being idiots. Yeah. It is typical driving away, so I'm just gonna walk towards him as I normally will do. And Tyler's gonna shade her. So Tyler's just gonna kind of skip along and follow along because he doesn't rather fuck Robin and... I would assume that I hear it's driving. I'll also break cover. Would you? Okay. I would like to circle around so I appear behind the driver door and be like, we've been waiting for you. The initial sound. Let's swing my sword.
00:51:45
Speaker
Cool, I can't be surprised. I should be able to get a surprise around. Stop fighting, I'm dying! What are you doing? So, let me just break that down a little bit. So, Hayleya sees Talia and Talia and Shayla and Robin approach, and she's kind of, oh, good there's more of them than normal people, and then suddenly hearing this, hello there. So, about ten feet behind Drago and Hayleya, Elphir, something...
00:52:23
Speaker
It would take too long to even describe the thing
00:52:30
Speaker
It's because he has very, very deep-seated issues. Probably extend it back to his family. Right. You'll be able to discuss it at length, I'm sure. He does like to talk. This is Robin. Robin, hello. Helya, self-breath. Nice to meet you. My name is Shayda. Shayda, this is Helya. Helya, self-breath. Shayda, nice to meet you. You're very short, aren't you? You're very loud.
00:52:55
Speaker
I haven't spoken to many people in quite a few years, actually. You see, it all started many years ago when... Talia, this is, uh, Helia. Just to interject. This is both their voices now. Hi. Lovely to meet you. Talia. Talia, very nice. Helena, we sound like we have the same... That elf, you, uh, that creepy elf that... that's delved upon you. His name is Elfia. Elfanastelf, I see.
00:53:25
Speaker
Pleased to meet you, Els, who comes here. Guys, this is... Tekitachi Helya. I don't like the way people mispronounce my name, actually. Sorry, sorry. What I could probably overpronounce the first letter, it's like, Kaludo, but Harley. At Helya saying that, I give a knowing kind of nod, as if.
00:53:48
Speaker
Okay, I dig this. But I see you match the tradition of your surname matching your profession. Absolutely, I must be from the ways. Most definitely, I'm glad. Did you put two and two together there, Elthir? Well, you didn't, so you can't talk. Hey, where I'm from, brothel, and these boys would agree? No, but... Like my surname is Steelfall. Steelfall, as in, you know, work with steel.
00:54:12
Speaker
Look at Robin for... Perhaps we should move on. Yes. Did you find one bro in this group? One bro? Did you find your answers, Drago? Certainly did. Didn't you find the man? I found everything and much more. Do tell. We have a quest. And as the people lean in... It was a perfect time. As we lean in. It was a perfect time on that. I stood here.
00:54:36
Speaker
at the edge of the forest on the edge of the world as Drago leans in to tell the party and fill them in with the information he has gleaned from Helia and the others and begin finally starting what the DM had actually fucking planned to start four episodes in four episodes ago we're going to leave it there until the next episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop How did you expect us to find all that information out by the way?
00:55:09
Speaker
I honestly hadn't actually decided because I wasn't sure how you would react to being in a new place whereas when you had anchors to places in our previous campaign I thought I could kind of expect certain patterns here
00:55:23
Speaker
I had no idea, so I'd left stuff very much open. I had a number of avenues you could possibly go down. This was just wonderful. It just strikes me that he's actually expediated the plot. Because if we really come with it, we'd still be wandering around that forest going, let's prove ourselves, and we wouldn't have a fucking clue what we were doing. Or I wouldn't be able to go through double the content in half the time because I've already told one story and we could've got three.
00:55:43
Speaker
I think if you collectively take the amount of minutes I've spoken over the last two episodes, minus this one, I didn't take that much time. Hey, I had your back. I was trying to say it's because of you. Oh, I appreciate it. I appreciate it. And it wasn't like I had a sleepless night trying to figure out what you can do without the fucking dead man. I mean, I'm looking forward to the way Ian has to do the recap. I have to plot drop all of that information for you to find. Can't we just say for expediency if yours is in?
00:56:09
Speaker
No, I want to hear it. Oh, no, I'm sure for damn right. We're gonna say that I just feel you're in because these guys don't want to hear it. Yeah I apologize on behalf of Will. Always, guys. Thank you very much for tuning in on our podcast. We really do appreciate it. And if you wanted to follow the main podcast and stay up to date with any news and ongoing
00:56:34
Speaker
shit that we might come across, memes or gifs, they are not gifs, it is gifs, that is right but it is not kaludo, if you can have kaludo I am having gif.
00:56:49
Speaker
So you can follow us where we will have mad bands like this. Cluedo, Cluedo, Gif, Jif. If you want to know more about these things, follow us at Fellowship Table, and then you can follow us individually. At irollo1. I'm at natural20will.
00:57:11
Speaker
and shade eyes at the d20 gamer and if you want to follow me and ask me any questions about what these mad fuckers will be up to the next couple of weeks I'll have to really politely deny you but I can I can help you fill in any other bits if you have any questions or concerns about what I've been up to if you have any concerns
00:57:31
Speaker
And if we're breaking the rules, then... Because we're in a different world, the rules are all different anyway. You can follow me at hastilyrolleddm. Until next time, guys! Farewell!
