Chaotic Battle Commences

You take 60 points of lightning damage. Stop it. I will not stop it. Stop the wrong storm. Sea smirk.

Episode Introduction by Mark

00:00:35
Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop Real Life Play 5-year D&D Podcast at the Magical World of Everth and we are about to die! My name is Mark and I'm the Dungeon Master and we are facing a dragon. This is Dungeons and Dragons. We are both not in a dungeon but also near a dungeon and also facing a dragon and there's a dragon in the party and that dragon is called Drago. Drago is played by Ian.

Character Introductions

00:00:54
Speaker
What up, motherfuckers? We've also- we've also- Motherfuckers, that's a nice addition. We've got Willy does not play a dragon, but plays a bard. No, he doesn't. He plays a bard called Kastan. I'm just a bard sitting in a hole. You are? That's very true. We've got Callum, who plays the gnome-saucer of Folly Fizzlebag and the Ninth. Currently working out if he can put a muzzle on a dragon. We've got Darren, who plays the human fighter Rogue Robin.
00:01:18
Speaker
Yeah, let's do this. Fuck it. Hello. Hi. We've got Danny who plays the human clerk, Claude. No need to adjust your listening device. Mark is not running at double speed. Hello. I've said lots of coffee. And we've got Casey who plays the human champion, Helen, a sleep guard. We'll meet again. Don't know where, don't know where. Two onomists, two onomists, two onomists. Oh God, no. Let's just jump straight back into the battle and see how we're getting on. We are over to Claude.

Claude's Cinematic Reference Decision

00:01:45
Speaker
Claude, you have just...
00:01:47
Speaker
fallen face first into the dirt and I can hear the very strange ominous sounds of a creature behind you. What would you like to do?
00:01:56
Speaker
The whole time Claude completely did not want to turn around like Bilbo when he meets Smaug and he's trying to hide from him and then knowing what was there, praying it wasn't there and then somehow getting knocked onto his face by a massive force. He's just going to slowly help himself back up and like Ron Weasley in the pit of spiders slowly look up towards the air, weigh himself a little bit
00:02:27
Speaker
swallow and I'm gonna let out an almighty Dragon Ball Z style beam of fire straight up into the dragon's anus. I imagine that's what I'm underneath, given the angle at which it's perched. I mean it's quite telling that. It's the spell you cast it. Is it like Vindaloo? Yeah. Mark, could you make a deck save for me?
00:02:57
Speaker
You can't do legendary resistance because you used all your shit. No, I can't. I don't know if you can. Legendary resistance is different to actions. Actions get renewed, resistances don't. Dexterity. Yeah, it is. 18. Ah, meeting beats. Wait. Yeah, that's good for you, not good for me. Yeah. That's okay. I've still cast a level 5 Flame Strike, so you'll take half this damage. That's nice. So...
00:03:28
Speaker
That is 14 points of fire damage, halved to 7 and then you also take the same in Radian. Let's roll it for you. 18 points of Radian damage, halved to 9.
00:03:49
Speaker
As Will said, your radiant damage had been rolled already. So you got 18 on fire and 20 radiant. Ah, there you go. Sorry. So if it's halved, you take 7 fire and 10 radiant. But if it's a muted, weak 20 low. Yeah, I'll work that out. Thank you if it is. 17. And then...
00:04:19
Speaker
So this.
00:04:22
Speaker
What is it? What exactly is it? Like a fireball, like a fire strike. It's like a, but like a holy light. So rather than like red flame, it's like golden. Amazing. And this fires up into the kind of the, the kind of back flank of this creature. It's the same damage like the drug that Robin has previously hit anyway. It misses the anus, unfortunately, as this creature is literally bone and hits into, it's into, it's, it's, it's flank. Yes. Causing quite a bit of damage. Okay. You see it kind of flinched.
00:04:51
Speaker
I will just use my Path of the Grave. So the next thing that hits it, it has Vulnerability too. So the next time it takes damage, it takes double damage. Or if it's resistant, it takes normal damage, if you understand. Gotcha. Yeah, not a problem. Awesome. Anything else you want to do? No, that's my turn. I'm just going to stare up at this giant beast. Lovely. Folly, Fizzlebang, the ninth bottom of the round. Your turn. What would you like

Folly's Strategic Moves

00:05:20
Speaker
to do?
00:05:20
Speaker
Now's the time, man. Pull that fucking legendary scroll out of your backside and crack it open. We need this shit. Get your chaos magic involved, man. I am ready. We are all ready. It's your time to shine. The pedestal, you're on it. The spotlight, it's on you. What are you going to do? No pressure, mate. Yeah, yeah. No pressure. Definitely not. Folly is... First of all, we're going to see, obviously, Claude's been not prone and then got my drug.
00:05:49
Speaker
Beating by lightning. This is not going best. He's going to try and use his brain Which does not always go well? But we shall see and he's going to try and abuse What the primal instinct of this Draco Lich? I know I have to move completely don't I? I'm going to
00:06:19
Speaker
Use some Sorcerer's Points to cast Quickened Spell. I'm going to use two Sorcerer's Points so I can cast something as a bonus action rather than an actual action. And I'm going to cast Minor Illusion. And I'm going to cast it to the west side of the playing field, like underneath a tree. Obviously the dragon's 15 feet up and I'm aiming for like the base of the tree.
00:06:48
Speaker
And I'm going to, as we've already heard it, recreate the cry of the dragon's children that we have heard previously in the hope that the dragon will at the very least use some movement to go over to the tree away from everybody that's seemed to be damaged and hopefully use an action to try and find
00:07:09
Speaker
this child, which metagaming could potentially be used as an action to investigate my illusion on its next go. That's lots of Darren Brown. Oh, by the way, DM, you might want to think about doing all these things when my spell definitely works. I'm just planning and obviously giving you a slight direction in the hopes that you'll just go with it. Next, Queen Folly is going to be hanging over the Thames in a glass box.
00:07:37
Speaker
in a transparent rucksack. So yeah, it's just going to be kind of over here on the west side underneath. Does Folly also then hold up a piece of paper to the dragon and say, is this your number? Is this your child? Oh, so that's what I'm going to go for anyway. Right. For now, that's my bonus action.
00:07:58
Speaker
Okay. Um, I'm also going to run like, you do this, like you do this all at once, wouldn't you? Because it'd be such a quick kind of transition of spells. Oh, I'm literally casting that. Yeah. And then running the fuck away. So I am going to run north and I'm going to go and hide behind. Castan. You go buddy. He's like, you, you, you go there. I'm hiding in a hole right now. I'm hiding behind the hole behind you.
00:08:28
Speaker
And then I'm going to use my actual action. And this is going to be quite subtle. I'm going to have to use it as a sixth level spell for it. But I'm going to cast my animate objects on my dragon's teeth. So they are just going to lift slightly off the ground. And they are waiting because they are literally within about 10 feet away. I'm hoping this dragon is going to land in reaction to my minor illusion.
00:08:58
Speaker
Mine of Illusion is the bonus action because I can cast quicken spell using my sorceress points. My actual action is for animate objects but I can't do anything with them yet but they are basically just hovering slightly above the ground waiting for this dragon to land.
00:09:14
Speaker
until you turn into a plant pot. Until I turn into a plant pot and the DM screws me over. Because, as you were saying that, I was letting you decide what you were going to do before I waste your spell slots anyway. You have all that planned, you put it all into action, but just as your dragon's teeth start to take off slightly, could you please roll a D100 and a D10?
00:09:34
Speaker
Because you have used your wild... Don't kill us, Callum. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us.

Intense Dragon Battle

00:09:57
Speaker
Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us. Mark is out to kill us
00:10:02
Speaker
You do. I do, yes. So, out of the, well, I've got an actual D100, because I'm doing it on D&D Beyond, and it's giving me 22. 22, thank you. Creatures have disadvantage on saving throws against the next spell you cast in the next minute that involves a saving throw.
00:10:23
Speaker
This is why you need to use it more, but both your spells previous to that failed because as you try to do that, this magic surge overtakes it. So unfortunately you still burn that spell slot, but in doing so, you now have been kind of, it's almost like you try to push the magic out towards the dragon's teeth like you've done before, but somehow it goes, I think comes back into your face. And actually you feel a strength for
00:10:48
Speaker
kind of saving throw magic, so to speak. There's no other way of really posting it, but you seem to have a innate other strength in your spellcasting abilities. If that makes sense. Was that when the dragon did something, or does your reaction to Tides of Chaos just stop my spell? Basically, I've used it as... When you make... Once you do... It doesn't stop him from casting the magic. Can you put it Force of Chaos?
00:11:17
Speaker
Oh, you can still cast it. I've got to say, it does not stop the spell. I get it back, obviously, it's a bit of a risk, but I get me tired of the chaos back, but you're not stopped at the spell by... Oh, man. Okay, fine. You still make your little noise and your dragon's teeth are floating. And you've got advantage on the next attack. Fuck yeah. Next spell, not attack.
00:11:39
Speaker
No, yes, sorry, the next spell that involves a saving throw. So there might be a wonderful large fireball coming his way. You've moved, you've used about six billion spells and not, you know, about 12 sorcery points as usual. Is there anything else you want to do? I have nothing else I can do. Thank you. Could you make your wisdom saving throw to see if you can break the effects of... Come on, Folly. The spell. Come on, buddy. Come on, buddy. Come on, buddy. You can do it. With disadvantage. I just want to double check.
00:12:06
Speaker
Because this is not, would this be classed as magic or is this like a presence kind of thing? No, it's about creatures have disadvantage on saving throws against the next spell you cast. You aren't casting it, unfortunately. Let's try that. So 17 is my actual wisdom saving throw here. Fails.
00:12:27
Speaker
You are continuing to be frightened. I can't open up myself. Karstan, top of the round, your turn. Karstan. So Karstan's sort of going to poke his head from out of the hole. See lots of things going on. There's people being sprayed with lightning. There's claw shooting things at dragons' bums. And Karstan's going to see this creature flying.
00:12:56
Speaker
I'm going to he's going to look at it and then I'm going to again he's going to concentrate and look at this creature and can it make a wisdom saving throw please. 22.
00:13:12
Speaker
Yeah, it passes. Fuck. Okay. Do I take half? No, it's no damage. It was going to make you fall prone. I mean, you couldn't do anything. Oh, God, that would have been hilarious falling out the sky. Yes. And it would then be not be able to do anything and everyone would have advantage on attacking it. But anyway, we'll ignore that. You could also fall on all of us. Oh, yeah. And you survived. At that point, I'm going to go back into hiding in my hole and I'll make a wisdom saving throw. Thank you, Kirsten.
00:13:42
Speaker
A disadvantage. Looks like I'm not passing this because that's a 10. Oh no, unfortunately the cold sweat continues to build on your face and palms as your breath quittens. Can't. Yeah, okay, that's me. Robin, over to you. You're facing the face of this dragon with Ghostbane out, Drago on your right, this creature 30 foot in the air. No, sorry, excuse me, 15 foot in the air. He is going to use his bonus action to steady aim to offset the disadvantage on one of the shots.
00:14:13
Speaker
As he just tries to concentrate, I'm going to spend one of my battle maneuver strikes to do a precision strike because it's an 18 and I don't think that's going to be enough. It's now a 27 to hit. That hits. And remember the next thing that hits it, it counts as being vulnerable too, so Darren's damage is doubled. Is it engaged with anyone still? No, it's flying.
00:14:39
Speaker
That would have been sweet, because I could have then used sneak attack. It does take, however, still pretty good, 20 points of magical piercing damage. You haven't doubled that, have you? That is doubled. So you've added Claude's thing onto it? Yeah, it would have been 10. No worries, just wanted to check I wasn't hurting my baby for no reason.
00:15:00
Speaker
This arrow comes thudding up into its neck. The arrow breaks out of its back and you do see a small rain of bone fall down as the creature lets out a low and kind of glottal rumbling sound that seems to make the ground shake slightly. And my meme about fighting a dragon with an army of the undead, I've got a bow and arrow, what am I doing, has come ringing true as I shoot again, this time with disadvantage. Okay, roll to help.
00:15:28
Speaker
No, solid, we need damage. It's a 14, but I'm gonna... No, I can only do it once per turn. It misses. I can only use a battle maneuver once per turn. It misses. The arrow hits true, except passes through the bone structure of the creature at the other side, through its ribs, actually causing no damages. It literally passes perfectly through the creature. You don't miss, it just manages to pass through it, so to speak, not causing any damage.
00:15:54
Speaker
Awesome. That's a really good attack there, Robin. Thank you very much. Could you please roll the wisdom saving throw to see if you can break the effect? I'm going to spend my last luck point to try and get out of this. So it's just with a straight roll now. Don't think that's going to be enough. It's a 19. Broken. You are no longer afraid. You're free. Freedom!
00:16:16
Speaker
You're free from it. Thank God. And it now cannot... The first two luck points were duds, but that one's actually worked. But I'm out of luck points. It cannot now affect you again. Anything else you want to do, Robin? No, I'm done. Okay, thank you. It's now the dragon's turn. It would use Frightful Presence again, but those of you that are affected by it cannot be re-affected by it. Those of you who are not affected cannot be re-affected by it. So it does it anyway because it's just a Frightful Presence in place anyway.
00:16:42
Speaker
The creature is pissed off, if you could read dragon features. It's still flying in the air, but it's not going to turn its back on any of you. It's just going to beat its wings backwards, moving itself kind of moonwalking, but in the air away from you slightly and moving itself down to put itself in prime position. Why is that noise annoying me? I can't turn it for it to be in the right place, but basically,
00:17:11
Speaker
It's going to line up Drago, Robin, and Helena. I can't get its head quite facing the right direction because roll 20 won't let me. As it takes a deep breath in. I'm

Dragon's Electric Onslaught

00:17:20
Speaker
not ready for this. I can't deal with this. And fires out another blue electric, I rolled a six, electric line of flame that go, not line of flame, line of lightning because 90 foot in a five foot kind of thick
00:17:35
Speaker
like this, five foot wide, kind of roar of energy, powers out towards Drago, Robin and Helena. Could all three of you please make dexterity saving throws? I'm assuming these doesn't count as a spell. No. Of any kind. Fuck. It is with disadvantage still, because we're frightened. Correct. You can't try and counter it, Folly. I wanted to. Oh, thank fuck. Oh, come on.
00:18:05
Speaker
22 motherfucker. Nice. Well done, Drago. I need it, man. That would have floored my ass. It probably might still. We're half damaged. I'm on 13. Thank you. 23, but this still might not help me.
00:18:24
Speaker
Okay, so Drago, Robin, you both just at the very last minute managed to avoid the major bit of breath as this weapon comes firing out of this creature's mouth and towards you. Helena, you're almost not expecting it because actually if we're being honest, Robin Drago, you've both had been hit by this before.
00:18:44
Speaker
You both take 30 points of lightning damage. That has been halved. Okay. Helena, you take 60 points of lightning damage. Stop it! I will not stop it. Stop the wrong storm. Sea smirk. Oh, and he just healed myself 60. No, no. Oh, shit. She ain't looking good, boys. Well, Ian's probably on single figures. What? Ian's probably on single figures. Fucked.
00:19:14
Speaker
I'm only upright because of Uncanny Dodge. Well, I'm not on single figures yet, but quite. Well, I'd be pleased to know that I've already rerolled for the recharge for next round and I might have passed it. Oh my God. Say your prayers. I'm doing what the creature would do. The creature would use its most powerful thing. And if I keep getting the recharge, I'm going to keep using it.
00:19:39
Speaker
Get out your hole, Carstan. I've tried to do things to make it vulnerable. I'm doing my best. The creature is then also going to just drop its beating wings and comes slamming to the ground as dust and mud rises from the ground. Two of the little stacks of soil fall down with the energy of this creature landing about that. The tree shakes and shudders as black leaves come trickling down to the ground.
00:20:03
Speaker
and it just stares out towards you all with a calm, concerted look upon its face if you can even make that out through the emotionless skull of the dragon that is facing you. That is the end of the dragon's turn. Helena, you're fucked. No, I'm still frightened. You have just been hit by this immense burst of energy. What do you want to do?
00:20:27
Speaker
Um, Helena is fucking fuming. Um, but she, you know, obviously she is terrified still, but she's not going to let this creature defeat her. She's weaker, um, quite admittedly, but she is, she's not going anywhere. So she's standing. Yes, I know. Thank you. She's standing straight, looking at this thing dead in the face and she's going to give it another shot with her. Um,
00:20:58
Speaker
with her bow. So it's because of the disadvantages it's absolutely screaming up the arsehole and up the other hole at the same time. Oh not the ear. Yeah in the ear. 12. Yeah that with your bow that misses the shot even hits the creature but it's just ineffective you haven't managed to pull back enough energy into it your your physically your heart isn't in it given that you're so frightened of this creature and what it might do.
00:21:24
Speaker
OK, she's going to go again. That's a 14. That's going to miss as well. The arrow comes thudding down short for the creature, just swooping over Drago and Robin's head. Right, I'm going to do my third shot first then. OK, roll to hip.
00:21:41
Speaker
There's absolutely no point in me from being here, Chaps and Chappettes. That was a four and that was a two. But so the two then plus a seven is nine. So nine is my hit. The arrow thuds into the tree to the left of the creature. Your shots are... I'm going to second wind, please. Okay. And then I'm also going to action surge. Wow. Okay, so we're going for more hits now. I'm going to do another hit. Good, because, you know, the last three were so effective, it makes sense.
00:22:12
Speaker
Wow Helen has had like a nice brother Helen has had like six right six different combats of just literally mincing through my baddies You've been a machine
00:22:25
Speaker
One of these, big, big old finger up to you there. Do you know though, it's my fucking long bow. It's wankers wankers. It's also the fact that you're rolling everything with disadvantage. That also doesn't help. Yeah, that also definitely doesn't help. Go for it, you've got three more shots. Use that action, Serge. Serge, you're well. You can do it, Helen here. Go on, Heli. Heli, h-h dog. Heli. Fifteen for the first one. Misses, the arrow, shoot, flies overhead. Nineteen for the second one.
00:22:52
Speaker
The arrow comes firing at you, you hold your breath and the arrow comes shooting out towards the creature's very central skull as it's landed there just over the right shoulder of Drago. As it hits, it ricochets off and away. Oh my God. Final fucking kit. You've all worked out it's DC now, haven't you? Yes, yeah. You're there going, oh fuck.
00:23:20
Speaker
no 17 for the final again it hits but it just ricochets it catches it in glancing glancing off its shoulder action search six attacks zero oh my god you've had some real bad luck with your hits could you please make unless you want to do any movement if that's the only time would you like to make your wisdom saving throw to see if you can break out at this disadvantage
00:23:39
Speaker
Helena is going to move, actually. She's going to move behind... No, she's not going to move behind anyway, because there's nowhere to go behind. Are they mounds? Yeah, they're about ten foot wide. Okay, great. I'm going to go behind the mound closest to the north. Okay, so nearer towards my cast and foliar. Yeah, so go behind there, away from the dragon's eye line. And then shall I do my wisdom save? Yes, please. Or my deck save. Wisdom, wisdom, wisdom, wisdom saving throw.
00:24:09
Speaker
That's a natural one, my friend. Your brain falls like your ear. You have a brain in a boil. You're just a fighting machine with no brain. Now, unfortunately, the frighten still remains. God damn it, your DPS machine is failing you. Yeah, Drago. Fortunately. Yeah. I was thinking you, Castan. Right. Speaking of the D-dog, your unread... The D-dog?
00:24:30
Speaker
You unfrightened dragonborn gorgeous hunk. It's your turn. The creature just comes slamming down and really quite near to you. What do you want to do? Well, this is my last stand, man. So as Drago tried to move out of the way of the previous lightning dragon's breath,
00:24:54
Speaker
because of his current condition clearly didn't move fast enough and got caught with the lightning damage which even though it was halved still knocked him down again to one knee and as Drago again locks eyes with Galgrath and his breathing is becoming very deep he's going to close his eyes for a moment and channel whatever ability he can through Akiva and he's going to
00:25:24
Speaker
use his channel divinity of VOWL OF ENEMINITY, which means I can choose a creature I can see within 10 foot and I gain a vantage on attack rolls against it for one minute or until it drops to zero HP or falls unconscious.

Drago's Critical Last Stand

00:25:46
Speaker
Excellent. Awesome. So you just get advantage on... Basically, I get advantage for a four minute. I get advantage on attacks, but I don't have to reckless for that ship. To do it. Nice. Awesome. And with his eyes locked onto Galgroff's and feeling that innate divine energy from Akiva, knowing that it's worked and the communication's solid and the months of training and hardship has been worth it.
00:26:12
Speaker
He's going to again take Dengong's deception, come off his one knee and run just as hard and as fast as he can, which isn't his normal strength. He looks beaten and Dengong's deception is no longer over his head. It's on the tip of the blade, he's carving through the floor as Drago's finding the weight of it too hard. And as he reaches Gelgoth's face, he's going to just try and uppercut
00:26:38
Speaker
again with advantage on his attack. Please. With the sword or with your fist? With the sword. Yeah. So he's punching a dragon in the face. Yeah, no, he's good. Not that old. He's the tip of the blade is in the ground. And then as he swings up, the dirt almost hits Galegor's face as the blade comes up with a massive grunt. For fucking crits. Yes. Oh my God.
00:27:06
Speaker
Come on! Can you make... Let me roll first before I get you to make anything. Oh my god. You've got the fucking stats for this. This will be so glorious. If you one shot my dragon, I'm gonna have one shot your dick and I'm like... There's gonna be two more dragons coming back. Okay, so in order for this to work, the dengons deception fucking golden bullet, I need to roll between 16 and 20 and then Mark needs to make a con saving throw. Here we go.
00:27:36
Speaker
So I'm going to roll the d20 first. It needs to be between 60 and 20. Well, I know exactly what you're thinking. God. Oh my god, I'm shaking. I think we're what we're all thinking, but.
00:27:48
Speaker
Ah, 13. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
00:28:15
Speaker
41 points of slashing damage to your fucking face, Gelgroff.
00:28:20
Speaker
Oh, I'm sweating. The creature isn't expecting it. And actually, as the hit comes in, it knocks the head up and its head is upwards in its front. One of its front right leg claw comes off the ground as the power and force of Dangan's deception. The cold seeping through the sword pushes him up and off the ground ever so slightly, just half its front, half its body, as the energy you manage to exude out of Dangan's deception.
00:28:50
Speaker
Awesome, awesome fucking roll. You got another hit, haven't you? I do. As Dangon's deception has moved up, and like you said, the cold from the crit starts to take hold of the sword, so it's not just me, but my fucking father is there with me using this blade against Gelgrove. Feeling that emotion, Drago's just gonna stab back with the hilt of the blade just straight from the chest area, and he's gonna stab forwards and thrust just in a straight line. Nice. Rolled to hit with advantage.
00:29:20
Speaker
23. Hits! Yes! 20 points of slashing damage to you, bitch-ass! Come on! Shit, okay, and again this hit comes smashing in and the creature's almost stunned at this one. As these two massive hits come in from a fellow dragon blood.
00:29:40
Speaker
Well, kind of fellow dragon blood creature. Anything else you want to do, Drago? Might have some move out of range there. Are you doing some moving? No, because that would make an opportunity attack, wouldn't it? I've played D&D. To be fair, after exuding what little energy Drago has on both of those attacks, he's
00:30:10
Speaker
he takes dengel's deception and puts the hilt above the blade so the blade is the tip of it is resting on the ground and you can if anyone's just watching this battle from afar you can see that drago is using dengel's deception as a crutch right now to stay up
00:30:26
Speaker
And that will end his go. Oh, a crotch. A crotch. And as you as you push those two hits come in and then almost instantly the sword gets turned around as you're leaning like there's half a second where the creature is still and its head only slightly moving slightly like a snake almost as he continues to look at you still emotionless. The tail lightning like back comes hitting right into the side of you. So 22 against your armor class hits. OK, that's one of my legendary actions used, which renewed
00:30:54
Speaker
And that was a tail attack, that's two. I'm that meme where the guy just peaces out, out of here. Deuce. 15 points of bludgeoning damage, so half to seven points of bludgeoning damage. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. I'm up still, like really fucking hanging onto the blade now.
00:31:16
Speaker
Okay. Fucking it almost. Thank you very much. You've seen Drago go in and absolutely pummel this creature for all it's worth and then almost topple over from the other side of the tree. The tree trunk is actually in the way for me making the line of sight on him, but you get the sense that he is not a good way. What would you like to do?
00:31:35
Speaker
Claude is going to bury the blade of his executioner's axe into the earth, and as Drago has brought Akiva here, Claude will only amplify the power, and I'm going to dash Full Pelt, not dash, because that's the wrong terminology to use, but I'm going to sprint into the neck of this dragon. Full Pelt just runs straight at it to try and draw its attention towards Claude. It's like head-down Rex running in. A Forrest Gump style.
00:32:05
Speaker
Yeah, and I'm thinking like Rex in Toy Story 2 and he doesn't want to use his head I'm using my head and as I go I'm just going to ping a small white orb towards Helena who's to my far west and cast spare the dying as a bonus action cantrip so that if Helena falls to zero she doesn't make death save she's instantly just
00:32:24
Speaker
And then as I go and just before I leap into this dragon's neck I'm just going to with all the residual energy channel Akiva's power and cast heal on Drago and he instantly received 70 points of healing. 70?
00:32:44
Speaker
70 points to healing. So that's your action. You used a bonus action to kind of grapple this creature? No, because I know that's an action. I'm literally just going to run full pallet and plate armour into this thing's neck in the hopes that it's like someone throwing a pebble at it, so it might just turn and say, what's this big thing that ran into my neck? Gotcha. Not intending to do any damage.
00:33:08
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. Just as a attempt of taunting it. The spell also ends blindness, deafness and

Claude's Supportive Strategy

00:33:15
Speaker
any disease affecting Drago. Oh, even of disease. Just in case he had herpes or anything. That one name that we were aware of.
00:33:27
Speaker
And the whole time where I'm running at this dragon, the dragon's neck. I'm just going to say, give Robin the bear, give Robin the bear, give Robin the bear. Boom. Into the neck of this dragon. Do you say boom as you hit it? I say boom and then I make the impact. Nice. Okay. I'm imagining big E for some reason from WWE. Anyway, thank you very much, Cord. What an exciting round there. You've given a new lease of life, I'm sure, to Drago.
00:33:52
Speaker
So over to Folly, you are currently cowering behind a cowering castan who is in a hole. What do you want to do? I want to keep cowering in all fairness. There's a lot of people around it. Folly is going to, as a bonus action, just begin to move his dragon's teeth. I can only move them about 30 feet at the moment, but they are going to make their way
00:34:22
Speaker
a little bit closer to the dragon, but yeah, go on, fuck it. Let's go for it. Let's crack this scroll. Let's see what's going to happen. This fight's already, pops are going to kill us. I may as well help it along a little bit. Oh God. This is so much fun. Okay. Well, I haven't used them in a while. Stop my joke. Here we go. I've purposely held onto it for like a big, glorious moment. And this is either going to fuck us all up or save us all, I think.
00:34:50
Speaker
tier 3 scrolls just in case you're wondering listeners if it has been a while since we've touched on this stock magic is a type of magic that's in this realm which is a totally kind of unreliable bootleg version of magic and what it means is that it's kind of like it's
00:35:09
Speaker
It's kind of like the wild magic surges you'd have, the wild magic in regular D&D, but on crack pretty much. The benefits can be fucking massive, but the downfalls can be cataclysmic as well. Tier 3 are the most rare and most unreliable and have the capacity to cast any known spell at random.
00:35:29
Speaker
You need to pass an Arcana check, and there's a DC to pass it successfully. Once successful, the spell will be available to the caster for that turn. If unsuccessful, there are two Stop Magic's Revenge's rolls that will be made on a table. So, we are passing over to Folly. Are you going to use the spell, the scroll? I'm going to use the scroll. I'm also using Tides of Chaos again.
00:35:57
Speaker
Okay, to offset the disadvantage of fear. Okay, could you please make your d20 arcana check? Oh my god. Eighteen. Pass. I can't remember what the DC is for this. Seventeen. You bastard.
00:36:20
Speaker
Let me just bring up, could you please, so I'm gonna ask you a number of roles that I need you to make here, okay? So I'm gonna switch them up from the last time I did them with Will. Okay, minimize. So, first things first, could you please roll a D10? Three.
00:36:37
Speaker
Okay. Uh, could you then please roll, please roll, uh, your regular kind of D 100. So just a D 100 or a D or percentile dice on a D 10. If you roll on 24, you have cast.
00:36:56
Speaker
The 7th level spell, Four Cage. A mobile, invisible cube-shaped prison composed of magical force springs into existence around an area you choose within range. The prison can be a cage or a solid box as you choose. A prison in the shape of a cage can be up to 12 feet on a side and is made from one quarter, one half inch diameter bars spaced one half inch apart.
00:37:21
Speaker
A prison in the shape of a box can be up to 10 feet on a side, creating a solid barrier that presents any matter from passing through it and blocking any spells cast into or out of the area. When you cast the spell, any creature that is completely inside the cage area is trapped. Creatures only partially within the area are those too large to fit, which may apply here if you're going to do what I think you're going to do. Inside the area are pushed away from the center of the area until they are completely outside the area, so you can shunt this creature pretty much if you choose to use it.
00:37:49
Speaker
A creature inside the cage cannot leave by non-magical means. If the creature tries to use teleportation or interplay now travel to leave the cage, it must first make a charisma saving throw. On a success, it connects to the cage. On a failure, the creature cannot exit the cage and wastes the use of the spell or effect. The cage also extends into the ethereal plane, blocking ethereal travel. The spell cannot be dispelled by dispel magic. You have cast, you basically cast the mother of all fucking dragon cages.
00:38:17
Speaker
But it's only 10 foot. Does that fit? Yeah, it's too small to fit. No, it's not going to fit in there. It's pretty huge. A prison in the shape of a cage, if it's a cage with gaps, it can be up to 20 feet on a side. If it's a solid box, it's 10 feet on a side. Yeah, this dragon's 40 by 40. Yeah, it's not going to quite fit. Not going to fit him. So I can basically... No, you could shun him for the dragon.

Folly's Risky Move

00:38:44
Speaker
So, if you leave it like that, the way it would shunt would be north, because the majority of the creature is out on that side, I'd argue. If you leave it where it is, Claude is on the outside of the box, because it's just on his, it would form just in front of him, but the creature, because it can't fit, will be forced to move north, passing over Claude, and ending up to the north area, out of the cage, forcing an attack of opportunity, or allowing an attack of opportunity from Drago, but not from Claude, because Claude's still in range.
00:39:14
Speaker
You could do that. Oh, right. Okay, fuck it. I'll do that, then. Why am I helping you kill my dragon? Because you're a kind DM. I'm gonna kill you all night round. Probably. Yeah, I think... Sorry, did I say that out loud? You actually will. They are all nicely lined up. I am worried as fuck. You're all nicely lined up for a cone attack or something. Oh, yeah. You're a cone attack. Dang interception. Your mum's a cone attack. Roll. Shut up, mate. She just works in the ice cream shop.
00:39:45
Speaker
Even with the trepidation. My mom makes milkshakes. Right. So we, the dragon is flying over. Does Dengon's Deception get a flash? Can he, can... Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, after receiving the massive fucking lifesaving healing and the dragon then suddenly moving, Drago's mind becomes a little bit clearer just in the moment that the dragon moves and can just about get Dengon's Deception up for a quick attack, which is going to be 21.
00:40:14
Speaker
That hits and 13 points of slashing damage. You heard that, it's not bad. No, it's definitely better than what Helen has done. I've piled in some damage on this thing.
00:40:29
Speaker
And again, you catch this creature on its left claw as it gets kind of shoved. You catch it just on the way up as its claw kind of tries to reach around the outside of this cage to hold onto something as this strange, incredible energy seems to move it out. It almost doesn't seem magic. It didn't even seem to come from that small gnome that's hiding around the corner. Definitely did not know what you're talking about. Anything else you want to do, Folly, in your turn and your cowering position behind Kastan?
00:40:56
Speaker
No, I've used my bonus action. I am just going to slightly move out a little bit from behind the cast and just so I have a better view of what the shit's going down. Are you still frightened of it? Yes, I am. You've not moved. I've not moved closer towards it. I've just moved alongside it. Speaking of which, could you also make your wisdom saving throw please? Come on, dude. Get out of this. With disadvantage, yeah? With disadvantage, yeah.
00:41:27
Speaker
Yeah Fuckin I got a 12 and a natural 20. Oh No Could you also roll? Let's get that's where's that? Well, let's get that back up again. Could you as the as the as the as the the energy
00:41:50
Speaker
from the stock magic scroll courses through your veins. It also reinvigorates almost like a hiccup almost. It comes again, the second feeling, but instead of a hiccup, it's something that could fucking murder you. Could you please roll another D100, please, Callum? I'm really enjoying. You're making me do this for a scroll. If you cast Fireball on ourselves, I'm fucking working. Not for a scroll. I'm doing it because you use Tides of Chaos. Yeah.
00:42:15
Speaker
That's why I'm making you do it, because you use the advantage. The advantage comes with one big disadvantage. Yeah, but you can only have me roll on the thing afterwards. Just roll, dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hang on a minute. Starting at first level, you can manipulate at any time before you regain the use of this feature. I can get you to roll on the stock magic table. Ah, hold on a sec. Immediately after you cast a Sorcerer spell, ignore me. Does Force Cage count as a Sorcerer spell?
00:42:39
Speaker
I don't know because technically I've used an item as my exact claim. Can I swing at his big old balls and say no? I like it. Folly Dick slapping all over the place. All of a sudden a Drake appears and eats Folly. Yeah, probably. I was going to fireball the party but I just fireball Folly now.
00:42:58
Speaker
Well, Castan, so you get some good out of it and all. Fair enough, fair enough. Right, thank you very much for that Folly, good little round there. Thank you for using that scroll. Give it to you for a reason. Castan, up to you. You picked the hat out of your hole. Come on, man. Hail Mary. Come on, Castan. Come on. Castan's going to look towards the dragon, and again, he's going to look at the creature. He's going to build a magical energy in his hands and release it towards the creature. Can it make a wisdom saving throw, please?
00:43:27
Speaker
it can at least try advantage on them bad boys oh i'm so sorry i got natural 20 so 20 22 cool um i tried to catch a polymorph on it it failed i got i got four but i get i get advantage you got magical resistance so it gets it and sorry i got a four then a 20 i'm sorry that's all right i tried to catch a polymorph on it i was going to turn it into a frog
00:43:50
Speaker
That would have been hilarious. That would have been so good. And then we could have put it in the cage. No, no. Then you could have put it in the bag of devouring and it gets eaten and it gets destroyed. I had this all planned out in my mind. Oh my God. We've got a bag of devouring. You put the frog in the bag and you let go.
00:44:10
Speaker
Can't we just stick his face in the bag? Just like, I'm gonna know! Right, I'm then gonna use my cunning action. I wish to take the hide action in my whole piece. Yeah, fair enough, fair enough. Would you like me to roll a sell? Are you just digging now? Are you just got your loot out and you're digging underground? Fuck this, fuck this, fuck this! That's a 22 on my style.
00:44:33
Speaker
Jesus Christ, we're all just at the sandcastle. You're like Douglas. What's one of the? Diglett. Diglett, yeah. Diglett, dig, dig, dig, dig. Yeah, you're just, you're digletting your way down. I'm just frank. Can I make a wisdom saving throw, please? Yes, you can, of course you can.
00:44:51
Speaker
Fuck's sake 14 no wonder I'm digging a hole. Nope. You're still digging you're digging all the way back to the Sword Coast if you knew that was a place I know it's a flatter. I'm really sorry about that. It's such a fucking awesome way to kill this dragon It might still be possible. Let's see what happens next Robin. It's your turn. Come on Robin. Oh
00:45:12
Speaker
OK, Robin is in a very, very bad way, but he is going to look at this creature and this time he's going to tuck his bow on his back and he's going to take a deep inhale of breath and use second wind himself to regain 16 points of health. He's then
00:45:33
Speaker
going to take a very measured walk towards the dragon. And as he does so, a host of things are going to replay before him. The joys of Neverwinter Forest walking into the Yawning Portal. This dragonborn spitting at him in the depths of wherever we were when we started this campaign. Elphir telling him that he respected him of humans and found something amazing in the human condition. And as he passes through the leaves, Ghostbane is almost just going to faintly

Robin's Heroic Strike

00:46:03
Speaker
return this tree to life as but for a moment the radiance of ghostbane like a lightsaber as it's drawn just illuminates the tree and then without any kind of fear or aplomb like tom hanks at the end of saving private ryan is just gonna swing ghostbane at the face of this creature as hard as you can hit that fucking solid go for it hit it i wanted to hit it with after that description i want you to fucking hit it yeah man come on come on
00:46:35
Speaker
Natural 20. Yeah! Time to be alive, ladies and gents. Come on, get that stuff out. Oh my God, I'm shaking. I feel you, I feel you. Call on Socrates. Pass them along. Where's the other D10? Carry the six. Decimal points don't count.
00:46:58
Speaker
You just keep talking and that the fuck up your dragon. Minus one. Don't forget to reverse the plowage of the neutral play. Fuck this, man. You roll true. Roll true. I've been here. I remember this. 25 points of slashing damage. I didn't roll that well, but 25 points of slashing damage. You're good.
00:47:14
Speaker
boom this shot comes smashing in and almost as it hits the side of this creature's face a burst of radiant light flies out and actually the radiant light seems to kind of push the creature back further than the actual hit itself and causing a good bit of damage to it the jaw is cracked ever so slightly across the side that you've hit it upon what do you like to do it got hit as he does that he's just going to say in memory of those who have fallen and then he's going to swing again and hit this creature again ghost bane now illuminating this tree
00:47:45
Speaker
For A, let's lose a precision strike on this. That will make it a 20, not natural. Hits. What does precision strike lose? It allows me to use one of my battle maneuvers to roll a d10 and add that to the attack roll. Just wondering, I didn't realize really what it did. Darren could tell you anything and you believe it, Mark. Yeah. I mean, it's true, so.
00:48:15
Speaker
That's what someone who was trying to convince me would say. Ten points of flashing damage, nine points of radiant damage. I actually rolled better on that than I did the crit. You did, yeah, nice. As the second hit comes smashing down on you. As you do that, the creature's attention turns towards you and the tail comes round in an instant, smashing into the side of you or at least trying to... I mean, that's 29 against your armor class. Yeah, that hits.
00:48:43
Speaker
16 points of bludgeoning damage as it comes to hitting it. And can he dodge to reduce that to eight? How many of those do you get? It's my reaction. Oh, cool. Nicely. Absolutely. My reaction. Oh, I forgot. Sorry. Action surge. Yeah, buddy. Yeah. Another natural. Oh, my God. Come on. Oh, thank God. It is the most glorious I've ever seen.
00:49:13
Speaker
28 points of slashing. Four points of radiant. The lowest radiant damage I've rolled. We might be able to do this.
00:49:26
Speaker
Yep. Nice. The second I'm smashing in again, a tree lighting up underneath it, dancing shadows around the space around you. Folly cast and Helen from your positions. You just see this almost silhouetted figure. This heroic man stood there, hair flowing, dagger, sword swinging hits come in, light flying off as the leaves start to emanate light and slowly fall in the coming cold breeze. Next hit down.
00:49:52
Speaker
Come on, man. Another crit. Fuck it. Let's triple this. Triple it. Rolled an 18. So that's a... That's close to a 20. Yeah. Yeah. That's a 29. That's a 29 to hit. That hits. 15 points of slashing damage. 7 points of radiant. This creature does not look happy at all. And again, it's Taylor's going to swing back from the other way back, catching you across the face again. 8 plus...
00:50:21
Speaker
12, 20, unnatural 20. That hits. 14 points of bludgeoning damage as it comes back round you, again catching you across the top of your head, actually, as the tail returns back to its previous position. The light of Ghostbane goes out as Robin's body falls limp and unconscious. Fuck! No, Robin. We haven't had someone go down for a while, guys.
00:50:52
Speaker
That's all I got. Oh jeez. You've given it your all, man. And to see if any of our party manages to make it out of this, you're going to have to join us next week on the Fellowship of the Tabletop. This, mate, this lady brother's fucking you guys. This is... If we die, can we join the bad guys?
00:51:09
Speaker
Absolutely. You're going back to life. You're all. You've been bragging about this Hail Mary. Well, when is it going to happen? Just come up with a great point here. We go back to being healthier. No, no, no. There's this whole subplot happening where we fucking fail. And like almost the What If series of Marvel, we did join the

undead blight the blight and we bring it to helena stands over the burning remains of goldview as i led helena i like to think i like to think that what happens is when you become undead you lose all your innate uh hero-ness and you become little peons but then it's a comedy series about how shit you all are as undead warriors i would still be i would so go on class time will still be hiding in the mountain waiting
